But then you look at DJ and it's like, okay, he's going to be a first baseman slash third baseman, depending on what happens with loop Voight and or geo or shella. Once again, we don't want Lou voy traded, but the Yankees, the damage is done with whatever the Yankees did. Clearly soured the relationship with the Rizzo trade and then just not playing Voight down the stretch when they had the lineup room to do so. So say void is traded, they keep Torres, geo stays a third, they sign a new shortstop. That means DJ's playing first. And he's not really a utility guy anymore unless there were injuries that need to be addressed. So if you need a utility guy because the Yankees don't really have a backup first baseman and I don't think that's going to be a priority for them in free agency. Why not go after a guy like Chris Taylor? Who can play center field? We don't know what's going to happen with Aaron hicks, maybe he's back, maybe he's not, maybe he's hurt again. Maybe he's a little bit healthy and I don't know what the deal is with him. He's been ever since he's arrived. The story's been different. So you can't bank on him giving you a 140 games. So maybe you bring in Taylor. Taylor could play center field. He could be your mostly center Fielder, and then you want to shift judge center field. Great hicks gets reps instead of field great. What does that mean? That means Chris Taylor can play left field. You can also play right field. He could play all the infield positions. There's going to be an injury, guys. Yeah, I would do a number of things. I would go as far to say that you don't even need to include prospects if you didn't want to. Look, what if you, what if you packaged Luke voigt and glaber Torres? What if you packaged Luke voigt Joey Gallo in like a top ten maybe one top ten prospect? What if you did Luke Roy Aaron hicks in 8 half Aaron hicks his contract and gave them a center Fielder and then, you know, popped in popped in somebody else. It doesn't have to be a prospect heavy deal. I also don't think that's cheaping out on I don't think that's trying to screw the a's over at all. I think Aaron hicks may have some good years left. You've got Andrew Velasquez, hanging out, triple-A seasons over, doing nothing. Instead, they've decided to reshuffle the entire infield, which wouldn't be quite as much of a problem if le mayhew Torres and her shella had all even equated, you know, they don't have to exceed expectations. You don't even have to reach them. You just have to get in the ballpark. None of the three have done that. Brett Gardner has been one of the best players for the past two months. None of that is what should be happening. There should be a Frasier time should be involved in this team somehow and he's not. Aaron hicks was supposed to be here. He's not. So they don't have a center Fielder in the future. Yet, the immediate future, they don't have a middle infield sorted out. I don't think Anthony Rizzo's coming back. And I don't know if there's been a reason over the past month and a half to bring Anthony Rizzo back. I think this team is close, of course. The minor league system has every level player has outperformed expectations significantly. Anthony vault is now someone who must be game planned for. There's pitching a double-A. There are a lot of interesting pieces. If only the eggs are willing to supplement it in free agency this year, or maybe pull off another cashman pitching trade. But you know, they're not terribly far off, but they are dangerously close to being stuck in a cycle. And the players are certainly to blame because again, you know, the first through the boring first half, we said, any other combination of players would be more interesting in this group and would perform better..

"Through a sixty game schedule. They overcame some hurdles. But there's going to be even with vaccines rolling out. There's a lot more to be overcome this year for what they're trying to understood which is fine but they can also mortar. My point. was. I understand that there are. There are occasions with what's happening. The fact is is that aaa is a you know a less controlled situation and in order for anybody to have replenishment players that can come up and play for guys that get injured. The inevitable happens during a major league baseball season especially to the new york. They have to have those guys ready to go. And if they're you know loosey goosey or just not able to stay on the field. Because of covert than that that becomes a big problem for the major league teams. And i think that is well could affect the major league season more than anything because you know i feel like they're in a good spot with the rest of i think it it kind of does impact the yankees in a negative way though because they were going to have some players who maybe didn't make the opening day roster that they were gonna maybe rely on in late april or early may Say well i know. Clark schmidt was shut down for an injury. But that means you know. His timetable has been pushed back. But miguel and do har is a guy who probably is not going to make the opening day roster but he would have just slotted into the everyday lineup in scranton to get regular at bats immediately called up if they had an injury or debbie garcia might not make the opening day roster starter. Maybe they were going to start him in scranton and get him on a five day schedule ready to go. Now that's pushed back in. An alternate site is not the same is pitching in in a minor league game. It's not the same but you know. Hopefully it's just that muscle and they can get back into the swing so it'll be a it'll be a small small little bump in the road but It'll be fine. I think they'll be good. I'm glad that they're not canceling anything. Because i think that at least not yet for aaa. That would be devastating. I'm surprised how i. How many of these franchises actually survived twenty twenty with not having anybody there. They just didn't operate on a on a lot of cash flow there. There's not a lot of money being generated by main minor league teams and then you lose an entire season. That's gotta be pretty devastating to a lot of a lot of these teams. So i'm glad they're back. You think people are so desperate for entertainment and that they'll they'll they'll go to these minor league games more than i really yes. I'm i want to go anywhere. We haven't seen each other are very much in person and we my my sister just guy we just got a house down in in the jersey shore for for like four days just that we could meet there and just like have four different walls and and like get a get a bit of just a a little visit a little. He he will get some base. He takes he gets on base. He walks fifteen percent of the time. That's that's a good rate. He strikes out twenty one percent of the time. That's not horrific. But it's not great either. But he's got a two thirty nine batting average. The last three seasons a to sixty five batting average on balls in play. And he's projected i think ziff's projection has amid a to thirty two batting average or two thirty four batting average this year. The guy does not put bat on ball enough to hit third. He walks a lot like you said he's got a three fifty eight on base percentage. Those are good numbers but not for your number three hitter. Hit him leadoff for all. I care i much rather have. Because if they were to hold the dual last year they should be able to do it this year and i think they have a pretty good idea of what's going to happen but the scope of what they're trying to do.
