"Boss around here. Yep oh man by the way. this is before emails. I called him person of rejection letter. I called him. And what didn't you like about. I forget i'd have to look. It was probably that just the other candidates. He just didn't stack up against was he. Was he squirrelly back. Then now no i. Honestly it was so long ago is this is the mid nineties was he was he. What was he like. I do not remember. quite honest. Was not weird enough for you well. This was when spitz was Still me him. We're doing it together. So my little ugly ducklings there were a lot less of those yeah and he loved to bring in the person who had hit rock bottom in their life. You know if someone walked in like a needle sticking out of their arm and saying i'm ready to change it'd be like okay. Can you start tomorrow. Just kicked cleaned up and a few people that i took a chance on have gone on to have major. Success took a chance. Yeah major success okay. Well they're working in the industry. Full time all right hosting a morning show. Excuse me no no no no. I'm not saying that. Took a chance luck. They had no experience or had just experienced from twenty years ago and they had moved on. Can we're doing something worth their life than wanted to come back with it. You hired like some five year old guy. I did verizon worker. Then i what the hell you doing. The old the the trucker the guy was in the teamsters retired. What wasn't there a there was a cop was having a tough time on the job and he wanted to try different career right. Yeah there's a the active nypd. I remember him and he to tell me that all the stuff he was seeing and it would blow my mind. He would come in and go. Hey how are you. How are you can go ever see a dead person just two hours ago. Oh my god. Wow i remember that. Yeah that one guy that you brought in it was still a story. A must have been over fifty years old. He was the verizon guy. Didn't you tell him no. That was not the right time to start this whole thing. Hey listen it's why not. Why not take it. You never know again and listen. What am i going to be practicing. Ageism no no. It's not bad. it's just that it's you know what the track is. I understand but they wanted to take a shot okay and there was a guy who had worked for dunkin donut. Three years up at the boston area he was in his fifties was one of mine. No radio experience. You've hit rock bottom. He just got divorced saturday six. Yeah i remember. I'll never forget the interview. The internship interview with you. Never forget it. The old studio. Say i sat down there and you told me this is the job for you if you want to drive a honda civic for the rest of your life like me. That's what you said. I remember you telling me that meaning behind the scenes. No i know. I put i understand i was like i don't wanna do it every one and even tried to. I even offered to do a second internship for free. But you hired me out of that. First internship i did. Yeah but i'll. I'll never forget the eddie eddie. With long flowing locks following him he's got a stack of papers. This high moose was sitting in the newsroom. I remember that. All vividly. Sid rosenberg open the door for me. That day. i remember every detail i remember. Can't remember anything. These days. But every detail of that i can remember but i love. I will never not love the story. You rejecting olivero and him now not only did he rise through. Cbs radio head of programming. The company but now he's come back with entercom and to to run all of them. I don't think you'll forget that. Either he has threatened. Your anything has since he's come back. It's been mentioned. It has some thoughts on more than one occasion right but not like i never felt threatened and in a way i can take credit for his success because that drove drove him. Yeah he sometimes you got have the one guy in your life. That just wants to step on you so you can use him as a like a a launch pad to success this varada apple and they threw it away but then it it took root always routed at ron it at the time yeah weird analogy but whatever you know mean barbed wire in same intern. Class mean bob. Door same inter-. I was jealous of him because he got shifts to he got also got higher. Nothing man i think they like him more than he might be better to me it producing because he was into it. Bob you have a jew wanted to be on the air. I did but then i realized that there was a point there. I can't keep telling people because nobody takes you seriously. You kept telling people you wanna be on the air that they'd never take you seriously. It sounds like you know what. Let me try to focus on producing. I'll show my personality in other ways and that's exactly i worked. I used to get into arguments sports arguments with the host and stopping and do voices for summers and then that that's how it all started but those intern days man. I tell you this you know. It's a real shame sooner. i've in terms anymore. When are we allowed that. We're not even allowed that terms that i don't know. And whatever the program after they sorta killed it and then brought it back. It's not the same man. Think about all the people got opportunities at all these all. These people hit rock bottom that you could hire but you can't now no i mean that's sucks. A internship programs are awesome the give people opportunities to get in the door. And do these things you know. And then they took it all away. I told you. That's how i started at the university of maryland. Yeah ooh wd. Wbz tv with gail gardner cutting tapes for her. Yeah i always thought. I'd be on the air somehow but you gotta learn behind the scenes. I before he can do that. Sure and that was doing late night. Tv and cutting you know cutting tapes for highlights and just praying to god that you got the right tape cut and they call it up and plays that. It's the highlight that she's talking over. I love the fact that you have that in your past because you know what it's like exactly and anxiety and builds up and we used to have you know interns had overnight shifts weekend shifts and Evening shifts everything and now it's like only business hours and it's like a what. Yeah that radio. Yeah it's too bad. Hopefully that could change over the change in the future. We'll getting soft. Eddie get solved to soft are rocco's in connecticut. What's up rocco. Hey hey rocco chapman wanna talk about this. Aaron hicks got okay. The biggest disappointment in the yankees Since two thousand sixteen this guys making six million dollars a year and he wants to say he's not gonna play tonight. Such a huge disappointment to not only a fan but as a police officer in a lifelong yankee fan. Come on yeah well. We saw a lot of this last summer as well. Rocco where players would decide. They weren't gonna play for a game or two aaron hicks. Obviously this was emotional for him for reasons that that he may have. An opportunity explained coming up soon. I know the circumstances being what they are and the country being as divided as it has been. And there's gonna be a lot of people who are police officers police officers families those who support the police that are going to have a different reaction to what aaron hicks is done. And i understand that too and i think that he understands that but we will one thing that that we learned from last summer is that they are going to be athletes who are affected by social issues so much that they're going to go to their their managers coaches and ask to not play and they're going to be granted that yeah he also played in minnesota when i came up for three years so he knows the community and all that other stuff and i. I really thought that. Aaron boone handled it perfectly yesterday. I we've talked about this for the last year and this year right when we understand you know there are hard feelings here and there are hard things to discuss here but there are facts in every case that need to be born out and we all need to know those facts i think before we jump to conclusions so For the cops out there. We appreciate everything that you do. I ran into a couple of cops the other day on the street. And i said thank you man. We appreciate you walk in the streets. And it's not easy when you're running into these situations but for the athletes that feel that they are overwhelmed emotionally by and don't feel like playing that day. I totally understand that to. Hey by the way the nhl the nba and major league baseball. All canceled games yesterday games yesterday. So i i understand that it's nothing of that is shocking to me. No i mean this is a very similar to what we saw last summer when there were some when the nba came back remember the nba came back. There was there was a lot of players who album gonna play tonight. Or all the league's did and then on top of all of this. We are hyper partisan country because there are forces on each end of the spectrum that are trying to drive wedges between people and it's basically all about race you know that i know that all of our listeners know that and i'm being tired I'm getting tired of being told what i should like. And what i should like and i know how i live. I know what's going on. You know. I mean. I've been around for a long time. So you have to understand people you have to listen to. People can't just say hey. It's my way or the highway. It's got to be a two way street and that's why last year and even this year and even today this morning when we wake up i totally understand where aaron hicks is coming from. And if if he and his manager have a heart to heart talk in. The managers tells us as the fans. This is the deal. And i believe the manager sure which is an explanation which we did not get from a lot of the kyrie irving or never did never in the careering personal reasons stuff. Aaron boone spoke about. It said what was going on why he missed the game. I know lots of people in sports fans say. Wait a second. He's still getting paid. A stanton almost missed the game like he thought about it as we ended up plan. So it's gonna hit different people differently when you have three hundred and fifty million people in a country that is hyper. Partisan as i said and a lot of the is built on race by people that want to make it all about that. You know you're going to have situations like this that we're all gonna have to deal with it's like to me. It didn't bother me one bit at all. Yeah no i mean. And i also it made sense when i saw it. I was like okay. You know. I wonder if i was there i get in. I wonder if there's going to be others. So when when i don't well you know again what you don't want is you want peaceful protests if you want protest peacefully fine no problem. That's what our country's about looting in and you know and setting places on fire and all this other stuff that's uncalled for. Yeah no absolutely. And that's you know some of the images again are Are disturbing. Have people up in vans with molotov cocktails throwing them at least talking about different problem. Yeah right. that's there's life people attacking the the capital. You have a hell of a problem right. Yep and people have to be held accountable on all sides and we've had too many of these problems in the last year too many of those who is driving everybody nuts and never got a you know. Never let a crisis go to waste as some have said in political circles and when you had the derek chauvin trial that's going on the george floyd murder and then that in the same state i mean. This was.

"Veteran. Who's maybe very about his workload in his routines. I don't kluber doesn't strike me as a guy who's going to be like yes. Get me every every round every every other around. But i could see them skipping him for a bit. Yeah i could see that too. I could see the managing the ski. The schedule is going to be a little fluid where there's gonna be some extra doubleheaders and stuff like that But that doesn't mean you that means you can have a six man rotation because you're going to need an extra starter but that doesn't mean guys get extra day it's not going to feel like a six man rotation that's the thing with some of these young like you said some of the the seven inning games as well. You're just going to be getting more of these. These bullpen days. I think to some these guys that and that's where lewis says a micro king and guys like that. Come into play because you say say montgomery or tie on start game. One of double header. Hopefully they give you five plus six plus innings and you can use chapman to close out the game then then game two. You might see michael king for two innings. You might see louis sesa for three innings and then you might go to the bullpen. Then there's a skip start. There's just skip day. i hear you. I hear what you're saying but the fact that some of those guys are have the ability to go longer. They they could go three four five innings. I just think that we're gonna see that more often especially with with suber and tie on and severino coming back and who knows with her mind. I think they're going to run her mind into the ground. He's another guy there like. Let's just run you into the ground. It's see the fifth starter. Is he the fifth starter to start the season. he like. he's starting. I believe on friday this week when you when you look at it on paper starter. So that means is not in the rotation. I think. I think that unless they believe that. This alternate side changes things in the way. The debbie is preparing for the season. I could see them not having him on the roster in the beginning of the year. I really we talk this. They're going to do they're gonna they're either gonna see. I think are going to see what dig. Herman has an early in the season if they are like. He's not pitching well so there's going to be that's filthy. That's like oh if he's pitching well we'll put up with him but if he's not pitching well we won't put up with them. That's just it's so to face at the end of the day to business. I don't know what to tell you you know. It's not his feelings there. They're going to go out there and they're going to see if this guy can throw in if you can't throw then it's going to become not worth it in their is remember. We talked that fan. Grass projected the yankees to be the most valuable rotation in baseball. This is before. The dodgers signed Trevor bauer so now. The dodgers rotation is projected to be higher than the yankees but the yankees at one point where projected to accumulate the most war among their amongst their rotation. I i i think that because it's maybe seven is deep. I agree with you. But that's assuming all seven guys are getting pretty regular starts. And i think as we've talked. Maybe that's the case. But that's that's a. That's a lot to manage a lot. That's a lot to have go right you have garrett cole who's your guy every fifth day and then it's a lot of moving parts so yes it could go great and maybe it's just manage it until we get to august september october. Then line our guys up for for the plots. Exactly what's going to happen. And i and i guess i'm okay with that because the american league is a little bit down the The yankees should win the american league east. No problem even though the razor still going to be competitive. The blue jays got better. Maybe the red sox are completely forgot about the orioles. No chris sale. He's he had tommy. John surgery was going to be playing in the. i think. he's kind of like on a severino timetable. I just forgot about him. Until i saw his acis. Acis biannic armaments rod e rodriguez. But i don't know i mean. He had covert us year and he had some cupcakes you had. You had a heart complication. I don't even think it was a covert or yeah. He did if govan and there was a heart condition. That's scariest shit but yeah. Yeah and they've got atom out of you know who can strike out williams and bieber just lying them up lineup. Those cryogenically frozen guys. I got him. they still have the frozen handle. The problem is they're just going to look at the pitch to their the he's gonna walk pretty sure ted williams and babe ruth both had good is. It doesn't matter. They both frozen swing the bat. Hey out of you know you still to throw a strike. I do kinda respect him. Doubling down though i mean he was asked pointblank the question he was. He did a radio interview and they brought up the bay bridge comments. And then they said oh. How would you do against ted williams baiting. And he said i think i do. I think i'd do all right. This is a guy who just got salary dumped to a rival because he was ineffective. I mean you might as well at that point you might as well double it worked for him. The first time he was good out of the gate. So maybe it'll work again..

"Know good. Look there waters with him. So there's nothing that says. Limit your guy. After two tommy john surgeries after one hundred and forty innings and he will be less likely to nito third. Tommy john surgery. I don't know what we're doing there. If he's feeling good then he's feeling good and we can say good job. Doc the surgeries worked. This is what it's supposed to do. Now go out there and pitch. Because that's what you're getting paid to do. I don't see why if we're at one hundred and forty pitchers or if he's feeling good at one hundred pitches while they're going to be pulling him in the fifth innings earning. Sorry if they're going to be pulling him at you know the fifth inning when he's at one hundred innings just to make sure that we get two hundred and forty closer to that you know how they like to tinker. They love to manage guys innings. And they've done it for decade and it has right so then. That's why i'm hoping that. Maybe maybe maybe maybe maybe we can go away from that philosophy and just let guys you know pets when they feel good and if they feel good they should throw and if they feel good on a particular game though if the fee if the feeling of their pitch is good they have confidence in the air over the locate. A pitch. Pitching a certain Fifth inning but they still feel like they have you know some in the tank. Tanakh is not here. He's nobody's saying. I have nothing in the tank in in in in the fifth inning or going into the fifth inning. If they if they're guys feel good and they are showing that they feel good and there's nothing visible saying okay. this guy. his stuff is off. His stuff is is lagging because he's Let him pitch in pets. This is what they've meant to do this there they were brought up to do. They've been playing baseball their entire life and throwing innings. Let them throw. It drives me insane. One hundred forty innings is twenty eight starts at five innings per start. The the thing is that one hundred and forty innings inning four inning five innings one hundred and fifty six. Any one of them could be the last inning. Any one of them it. There's a the percents as you go with the with the With the innings into the season. And you know there's fatigue in the arm and such but unless you're unless you're showing something that were the fatigue is is is causing a a weakness in a ligament or whatever they're looking at if they identify that then okay you your guy but if you don't identify that i don't know what the this is what they're built to do so. This is not about injury this is about workload and what the yankees can expect from their group of starting pitchers after garrett cole. Because i think even in a in a great scenario this season jamieson tions not throwing more than one hundred fifty six. He's not going to be one hundred eighty inning guy. Which which is a horse that you understand you have you have garrett cole who's gonna pitch close to two hundred innings or or more than two hundred innings probably hopefully thirty starts seven innings a start every time garrett cole then you have kluber tyron montgomery garcia king schmidt and severino all who are going to get one hundred to one hundred forty innings. Like you're not gonna get. Let me tell you the difference here. There's a big difference. It's a hodgepodge you're going to be trying to just collect innings out of the rest of. That's fine but it's going to feel different. I feel like it's going to. It's going to feel different this year. Because it's because the taxing and it's not muster not walk. The reason why is and this is what i'm hopeful for those one hundred and forty innings from jamison. Tian are not okay. You're running out there every fifth day and were pulling you in the fifth inning. Those one hundred and forty innings may be. Are you sure second. There may be opportunities because of the the names that you mentioned because there are so many guys that could come in and potentially fill a role within the starting rotation and you know who knows when when he comes back what he's going to be like if he's able to Slot in there for x. Amount of innings. I think we're gonna see skip starts at. They were going to see you know guys coming in and being able to to throw in a rotation spot rather than that feels different to me than a guy going. Jason is getting going out and giving me six innings and getting one hundred and forty innings but his number of starts is lower. Okay now we're talking now. We're using what we have. We're not being overly cautious within the game. Because that's what drives me. Nuts is within the game management so understanding that the pitches and the innings counting four fifth. Inning gotta go get him whereas he could skip a start. You know in june august. You're talking six man rotation. I think there's going to be a semblance of that as we're going to have so many unknown right now with with the injuries old guys and then coming off of a short season. They're going to be monitoring so closely. How these guys are are acting. You know because their last year was weird. You mentioned chad green. You know going out and throwing their watching innings because they don't know how these guys are arms are gonna react after a short season and what happened last year. I think that's an unknown that they're keeping a close eye on so it would not surprise me if we have a six at toby fresher fat wouldn't logic dictate their fresher will know you could say that there's extra strain because they didn't. I mean there are a ton of injuries last year because of the way that they prepared for this short season as well there are a lot of under a lot of very different things that happened last year. That could play differently on the way that your arm is long-term the way that you prepare in the off season. I just think that they're looking at that. As a as an odd duckling and saying okay. We don't know what we've never seen this before. Let's see how they react. Garrett kohl's pitching every fifth day so that means that for the rest of the guys if you're talking about skipping starts you're you're playing with those other four spots you're not playing with garrett cole spot i think i think jordan montgomery is feels like a guy. That's obviously a hate having this caveat every single time but injury he seems like he's beyond that healthy guy doored montgomery seems pretty locked in with guy. Refined you would say not saying. He's the number two. I'm every five days. Come out right. Call montgomery every fifth day..

Jason Garrett kohl garrett cole june august last year twenty eight thirty one hundred fifth inning six innings five innings one hundred pitches fifth innings garcia king schmidt six man Fifth inning two hundred innings Tian one hundred innings one hundred and forty pitchers

"Be brett gardner There's some worry. That chad greene might not be. Okay my record. There's some worry. That chad greene might not be okay. He was scheduled to pitch on tuesday but then he was held back. boone's quote was. We're just trying to be wise and slow player. Higher leverage relievers as far as game action or trying to be mindful of innings. Coming off the last season i thought that everybody pitch fewer innings than they ever had in their entire life. Yeah i think the look chad. Green to me is a is a big piece of this. Because he's got to step up and now take a even bigger role He's he's he's become a leader. I guess in the in the bullpen. Now with some of these you know some of departures. He's he's really got to be a lockdown guy for you know he's got to be the dependable guy in the back of the pen other than other than chapman. And then you have written but chad grainger number three guy they gotta they gotta be careful with him but he also has to come out and prove that he can be that guy the entire time. We've seen too many too many years now with chad green coming in and like disappearing for a month or not being the same guy after a second inning of work. They just need to figure out what he is and he needs to lock in no matter what the back of that in the back of open. Yeah they also in hoax notes. He mentioned the yankees are probably going to carry eight relievers to start the season. Six of those guys are are pretty clear. Cut chapman britain. Green darren o'day justin wilson and he puts lewis sessa in that group my guy and then he also said boone and matt blake are both high on nick nelson zim. I look at this. we're all. We're in synch. Your this is this is beautiful nick. Nelson pitched well in his spring debut. But nick nelson could kind of be. What chad green was maybe three years ago. Yeah lewis has has slowly become. I'd say version of fine lewis. Ah has not become that yet. You keys pushing the louise. Because he's not a one to two in guy he's definitely more of that bridge guy but he's been an effective bridge guy so he's been asked to play a different role he's not been asked to play that same role. I do see nick nelson translating into a guy that could come in throw gas control a strike zone and be good. He was impressive us. Your i've been shy about this. Big nelson has a real place in the bullpen. And i think that the yankees like him and the fact that we're talking about right now and that Mardi mardi gras marty. Blake is talking about it. I'm trying to come up with a wrong last. I couldn't The fact that they're talking about in this early in spring leads me to believe that they. They've got some pretty high expectations coming into the season for for nikki nelson here all the be last names out there. We stumbled brown. Berg could've been anything so that maybe the eighth spot who who you think for that eight spot in the bullpen. They're going to be michael king because they just want someone who they are we. Are we re flipping back. Everybody i look nyc cooking's a nice guy. He's not a major league pitcher. i mean. no he. He was bad in his first outing in spring. I did that. Doesn't mean anything but at the same time we saw what he is. He's just not a guy that puts anything he's there's nothing special there he's a four a guy he's the rob schneider of pitching That might be the case. But i think they like having someone who they can use. This is going to sound bad. And i like michael king As as we all know they like having someone on the roster that they can do anything with and if they mess him up they don't care that's fine. There's a tax shouldn't be in the on the major league teams yum not disagreeing with you but to start the season. Especially because if there's no clear cut starting role for debbie garcia and clark schmidt is still working back from they care about those two no so but what i'm saying is they can have michael king on the roster and then if they have a double-header or if someone gets knocked out in the second inning they can throw him out there and then immediately sent him back down to alternate site and it's no it's no different they don't care no that's true that's exactly. They like having the flexibility. Get that that's fine. That does not change the point that he is not a major league. Pitcher key may have his moments where we're like. Oh there he is. Let's go give them the fifth starting job and then and then he'll get the five spine do you remember. He showed flashes last year. Where for two innings. He would look good. He would keep the ball on the ground. And then boone would try and push them out there for a third inning. Maybe second time to the order and he would get the last year or was it end of twenty nine thousand nine hundred and saw that was last year end of twenty nine thousand nine. He only made his made one appearance. That was really blending together. Twenty twenty. it's a figure but He he would come in for two innings of relief and maybe he'd give up a couple of hits. Maybe one run and you say okay. That was a decent adding for my cooking and then will push him out there for third inning and he couldn't get out of the inning and he would give up four runs so it was too many instances like that. So does that mean. Michael king is not a- long-term major league pitcher maybe because if you can't pitch more than two innings and you're supposed to be a starting pitcher then you're probably not and he also doesn't like his stuff doesn't translate to be a one guy out of the bullpen ineffective high leverage bullpen guy. No it doesn't. He's a ground ball pitcher who's been working on his changeup. This offseason said he needs to throw more changeups. So but if or is that aaron. Boone not recognizing this guy is not going to succeed in the situation to get him out sooner than later. Maybe it's a little bit of both. Well yeah but at some point to stop making pitching changes and let a guy go because can run out of pitchers especially when everybody is a one hundred twenty one hundred and thirty one hundred and forty inning guy in going into the season segue you. That's a really good sessional segue. It was so. I wanted to talk about expectations for jamieson. Diane who he was asked by reporters. I believe this was in his first spring media session. He was asked about returning from. Tommy john surgery second. Tommy john surgery and the number of innings he might pitch. He said we haven't had that talk yet about any set number. I thought originally one hundred and twenty to one hundred and fifty but that being said i'm kind of on board with the idea of. Let's just see how feeling throughout the year. Why put a limit on something. If i'm feeling great at one hundred forty innings. There's no need to cap it. That's my thinking i. He mentioned one twenty to one fifty. He also said one forty. And if i'm feeling great let's keep pushing it this kind of telling me though that they're the he's going to be about a one hundred and forty inning best case scenario pitcher this year. We'll know i think what this tells you is the best case scenario. He's going to do however he.

"Aaron hicks taken pitches. All he's going to do he's going to strike out or is going gonna walk. That's always gonna do. He does not put that on ball. Nothing happens except aaron hicks throwing 's bat to the to the bat boy and him walk into first base. That's all iron hicks. I don't know he's got some home run home homerun videos from mlb with a new camera. Look i think that it doesn't again. These these things are so there's such a small discrepancy in how he's going to be shifting this lineup because dj lemay who's not gonna lead knocking to believe the leadoff spot. He's why not get if there was between. If it was up to you and me i agree. I think hicks is a perfect leadoff hitter. Because of the fact that he does the switch hitter comes back into play to me when the lineup turned over which is a very good then. Because now you're setting up your productive guys in front of you've got one non right handed hitter in the everyday lineup. It does not matter where he hits. They're still going to be eight consecutive right handed hitters and then aaron hicks no matter where you put him in the lineup. It's like aaron. Boone doesn't understand mental the fact that he gets on base a lot and we'll would set up better for i love digital making this in the to spot like to me. That's i know it's more traditional. Because he's that type. He's a derek jeter of the team. He's the he's the best guy more traditional ball he he gets on base a ton. Yeah he should be in the second spot. He goes the opposite field which he can move a guy from first to third. That's that's the old approach. That's the let's let's get guys running on the base path and and try to score runs in that way. Aaron aaron hicks talking about the power talking about being healthy. They're trying to get that big ball and that's that's that's one of the reasons he's there because he can hit that home run ball and if he's healthy and in the lineup who hit more home runs that him stanton hits more home runs him his more home runs and but they're but they're not they're not switch hitters. Oh my it's i know it's i know this is not you. If that is legitimate. I know this is not you talking. It's a horrible reason. Just to bet hicks third. It's it's fine. It'll be so the fact that that this is. I just want to be healthy. I want hicks to be healthy. And if he's in the three spot unhealthy. I'm good with that. Let's see what happens with him in this in the three spot and healthy because it seems like we haven't seen him we've seen it. It's not if he's got. He's got a healthy stanton behind him. If gary sanchez is hitting home runs like he did the other day. Hey you know now now. Aaron hicks is going to be getting a lot more balls over the strike zone and you know therefore more more damage potentially i. I'm just confused. Because i know the yankees are so analytically driven in some aspects in this this kind of goes counter to analytics analytics would say hit hicks leadoff and then bat lemay mayhew behind him because lemay who puts bat on ball and bat on ball. When there's a runner on first base is good so is that is that it'll that i tested telling you that because that's that's what it seems like the logical thing to do no that's analytics. That's literally analytics. Aaron hicks walks a lot digital matt who puts bat on ball. That's what the analytics say. Yeah and that's what the i say. That's so what i think this is. I think this is aaron boone member. How last year we talked about. It came out that the analytics department gave all the information for that game to debauchery where they're like. Here's what we think would be a good decision for you to make but it's still up to you. But here's all the information about debbie garcia and j versus the tampa bay rays. What's happening here. It's here's all the information that we're going to give you but now you need to make a key decision. And he's making the wrong decision he thinks just because all i need to break up the right handed hitters. I can't have nine right handed hitter. I can have eight right handed hitters in a row to start the lineup. Oh you're going to have as soon as aaron hicks has done batting. It's just so shortsighted. Yeah no look. I think that when you're looking at aaron hicks and you're looking at aaron boone. They have a track record and aaron. Boone likes track record and he likes the fact that he can hit left if needed and it does break it up. And that's what aaron. Boone likes to see his test is like i need to see a lefty up right now. And that's right. That's why aaron hicks is there. There's there's really not much else to it. Is the breaking them up. That's to be to be honest in a perfect world. I would hit hick's knife. And then i know ninth is. You're like a wall. He's a better hitter than some other guys. So why do you want him. Nice because then ninth nine. One two is awesome. That's kind of second. Leadoff guy wants the lineup. Turnover turns over. Then you're in that same position. So i disagree i think is is is the perfect number two guy and then you have big bop guys at three and four. Aaron judge to music number three hitter all day long. And you go from there. i think gleyber is. Is you know. I'm expecting good. You're out of labor. And i could see him. Even in the three spot. To long-term they tried that at the beginning of two thousand nineteen in. He struggled a little bit. Maybe he was putting too much pressure on himself was anointed the everyday shortstop and the number three hitter on the nets a lot. That's a lot yet some lingering hip issues and you know the the. I think this is a big year for labor. So we'll see what we'll see how he He comes back But i see him as a number three long-term but in aaron boone's lineup.

gary sanchez Aaron aaron aaron boone Aaron aaron hicks aaron last year second spot lemay Boone One four two thousand ninth j one first debbie garcia third Aaron hicks

"Through a sixty game schedule. They overcame some hurdles. But there's going to be even with vaccines rolling out. There's a lot more to be overcome this year for what they're trying to understood which is fine but they can also mortar. My point. was. I understand that there are. There are occasions with what's happening. The fact is is that aaa is a you know a less controlled situation and in order for anybody to have replenishment players that can come up and play for guys that get injured. The inevitable happens during a major league baseball season especially to the new york. They have to have those guys ready to go. And if they're you know loosey goosey or just not able to stay on the field. Because of covert than that that becomes a big problem for the major league teams. And i think that is well could affect the major league season more than anything because you know i feel like they're in a good spot with the rest of i think it it kind of does impact the yankees in a negative way though because they were going to have some players who maybe didn't make the opening day roster that they were gonna maybe rely on in late april or early may Say well i know. Clark schmidt was shut down for an injury. But that means you know. His timetable has been pushed back. But miguel and do har is a guy who probably is not going to make the opening day roster but he would have just slotted into the everyday lineup in scranton to get regular at bats immediately called up if they had an injury or debbie garcia might not make the opening day roster starter. Maybe they were going to start him in scranton and get him on a five day schedule ready to go. Now that's pushed back in. An alternate site is not the same is pitching in in a minor league game. It's not the same but you know. Hopefully it's just that muscle and they can get back into the swing so it'll be a it'll be a small small little bump in the road but It'll be fine. I think they'll be good. I'm glad that they're not canceling anything. Because i think that at least not yet for aaa. That would be devastating. I'm surprised how i. How many of these franchises actually survived twenty twenty with not having anybody there. They just didn't operate on a on a lot of cash flow there. There's not a lot of money being generated by main minor league teams and then you lose an entire season. That's gotta be pretty devastating to a lot of a lot of these teams. So i'm glad they're back. You think people are so desperate for entertainment and that they'll they'll they'll go to these minor league games more than i really yes. I'm i want to go anywhere. I don't care what it is. You know what. I mean like. I'll go with it doesn't even matter. How do you go on walks. There could be there. Could they could tell me. There's a game and we could go to the stadium and there's no game like all right you know. It's not my house interests different. Sit there have a different place. You know my my family. We haven't seen each other are very much in person and we my my sister just guy we just got a house down in in the jersey shore for for like four days just that we could meet there and just like have four different walls and and like get a get a bit of just a a little visit a little. Visit changes exactly. It doesn't matter to me. it does not matter. Do you go on walks throughout the day. The you gonna walk. no. I don't know see patients. Don't have the patience to go out and walk haitians. I mean especially. When when i was still living in the city the leeann i would go on a walk usually after work. Five five thirty. We just meet up with with friends that lived in the area and we would walk in the park. That was lazuli. The it was the most interesting thirty minutes of our day everyday because the rest of it was just sitting inside at work or watching. Tv and like being outside. Even if it wasn't in a nice day out it was just like it was like you said it's something different to look at it. It's doing something even if it's just as simple as walk tracker beer eats peanuts sitting in a A shitty stadium seat all day. I will give me that an anti you might drive by that funeral home. That all the guys used to live over and just like i'll watch the grounds crew. Just water the grass and and rake the dirt. That's fine for me to. I'll do that. Play some music in the background maybe some highlights of yesteryear. And let's let's just hang out. I've got something to complain about. That's really that's surprising. I know maybe we talked about. I was gonna have a different attitude this year. Father now things things are. I've gotten priorities in my life. But i saw this from brian hoke on tuesday. He said aaron hicks is envisioned as the yankees number three hitter to begin the season according to manager aaron boone. I know we've beat this to death. Why is aaron hicks hitting third. Is it only. Because he's a switch hitter because if that's the case it's just it's moronic reason the there's no nothing else in his game other than the fact that he can hit left handed that would say that warrants him hitting third what is aaron hicks dwell. He he will get some base. He takes he gets on base. He walks fifteen percent of the time. That's that's a good rate. He strikes out twenty one percent of the time. That's not horrific. But it's not great either. But he's got a two thirty nine batting average. The last three seasons a to sixty five batting average on balls in play. And he's projected i think ziff's projection has amid a to thirty two batting average or two thirty four batting average this year. The guy does not put bat on ball enough to hit third. He walks a lot like you said he's got a three fifty eight on base percentage. Those are good numbers but not for your number three hitter. Hit him leadoff for all. I care i much rather have. Aaron hicks hitting leadoff than hitting third move. Dj down to the to spot or the three spot. Even i would be much happier if the lineup went hicks. Dj judge or hicks judge dj than having hicks third. Because this is how games go. Okay you ready for how games go. Dj lemay who single to right field. Beautiful aaron judge long long long at that maybe works walk or maybe just moves the runner over or something..

"Show episode five hundred. sixteen spring. Training is rolling on and i am covered in urine. Yes that sounds weird. I'm very happy to hear this. You know when you tweeted that it's out of control. It's you've no idea how happy i am to hear this. I i really do think he's it on purpose at this point. He's peed on me almost every day for the for him you any makes he makes eye contact and he's like you know what i know. You just cleaned my diaper and there was. But i got a little more where that came from boom. Here's another here's another shame on you. Shame on you for not having your reflexes down by this point under sending. That's going to happen. What if i told you about expectations. I told you that this this is. This was like Some karate kid shit here wax on wax off. This was preparing you for fatherhood and and you have. You have failed. Let's go you need. Need pair for left hand needs to wax on with the diaper. You're ready to go don't win. He's a week yesterday. He peed all over his face. And we're like hi. Gotten his eyes and he started crying. Hysterically like okay. Let's get him in the bath. So i pick them up and i'm him over to the bath and somehow even pete himself. He peed more on the way to the bat. It's just like it. I know it's been joking. Like i need this. Pptp i've been shamed on twitter. People saying that's a waste of money even though it's like five dollars money they don't sired is bullshit. It's bullshit these are just gimmicks that they get parents to buy things when they're desperate desperate at this point i just i just want to be stopped. P. i wanna be stopped getting pete. I'm like i'm like those are kelly's oh jeez the The thing is you're going to buy it and he's going to stop. That's what happens. Fit whatever is a five dollar purchase. It'll make me feel better. Needs a he needs a p poncho not a pptp. Good for good for you. Keep the keep the industry booming but make make more worthless. Products were three weeks in and Spring training spring training is about a weekend. There's been some some games. Some game action gained. Did you did you. Did you get a little excited. When the first game happened there were some fans in the stands. The yankees always wear their pinstripes for the first for spring training game of the year. There's a little it was a little cool. It was very cool. I loved it. I get one. Seen the fans back in the stands is just exciting to see man you know. I don't know where where we'll get by the end of the year. Hopefully it's More than ten percent I have a feeling the vaccinations Get get further along with With with adults then you know. I think gigi stadium probably opened up more mobile open up more. they pushed the triple. Ac's back a month ish a month. Yeah there's going to be alternate site. In the meantime i could see them just keeping even when the minor league season starts. I could almost see them. Keeping an alternate site going because it is kind of isolate a few players. Maybe yeah just to make sure if something ravages say the scranton clubhouse like cova goes to the scranton clubhouse then the major league team is because that entire squad can't go up even even guy test is not positive for covid if he's in contact with other players who have been positive so i could just see them keeping this alternate site thing going throughout the surprise me. Either and pushing the season back a month. the minor league season. I do understand it because you know major league is they can control a heck of a lot more on the road or with the team is just every day. You're doing things minor leagues are. You know you're you're you're you're in a different situation at that point you. You're with the younger guys. Usually in smaller cities not as much control so pushing it another month. They're staying ramadi pushy getting another month to To to hopefully just again waited out you know. Get some more vaccinations going. I think make sense. Because i think that's what their big fear is. I don't think is as fearful knock on wood with the season and like what's happening up there. Because if they were to hold the dual last year they should be able to do it this year and i think they have a pretty good idea of what's going to happen but the scope of what they're trying to do. This year is much different than what they did us true but i still think that they can take in control a lot. They can control a good amount of what's happening. There's a full schedule like there's an entire schedule. They're they're going to be playing. It's not just playing on your coast right more. The yankees are going to be flying anytime the yankees are going to be flying. that is. that's how that's how it goes you go to the other The other teams park. And you play there and there's gonna be there's going to be there's going to be fans in the stands as i mean if you're in texas or florida screw. It's one hundred percent. Did i know. Texas said one hundred percent did florida also. I don't think so not yet. At least i know the spring training's not so there i think it also depends on obviously the ballparks and the and the team and how they're yes. So that was the governor of texas said one hundred percent so the astros in the rangers could potentially have one hundred percent of people in in their new ballpark in arlington. You gotta show off that. You're the. I love last playoffs when when that ballpark got shamed for looking like a like a like a home depot outside. Her was talking about expectations versus reality. Did you see those memes. Whereas like the the designs for the stadium. They were like this beautiful brick exterior than the actual thing. That looks like a freaking like airplane. Hangar that's like the metlife when metlife isn't on game day. It's just like a a steel. Looks like a an alien came down in the meadowlands dropped because everything is illegal lands. Everything is led depending on who's playing their. The meadowlands is a real sad place. You've got the giant football stadium. You've got this indoor ski hill and you've got a ton of dead bodies buried by the mob somewhere in the fact that ski the fact that the ski slope is actually back back in the plants because it sat there for a while Xanadu sat there for a while. Is it is it. Operational think it's operational yesterday. But i could be wrong. I know it's it's been construction for like eighty five years but the the fact that it gets it's back in action we're like oh yes someone's we're back let's go someone someone in two thousand nineteen. Oh yeah mall big time. Let's go right in the middle of it was just a. It was just a an interesting decision. The fact that there's going to be a ski slope in the mall in the meadowlands. Yeah we'll see how that the scope of the twenty twenty one season. It's a full schedule. It's flying across the country. It's it's fans in the stands whether it's ten percent twenty percent one hundred percent that means clubhouse attendees and personnel all of the different people involved in putting on a major league baseball game. We're going to come in contact with a lot more people. So so my point is yes they they..

arlington twenty percent texas twitter ten percent five dollar one hundred percent eighty five years last year this year This year five dollars three weeks Xanadu florida More than ten percent first game yesterday sixteen spring scranton clubhouse

He can really put you away with the other stuff. Yeah, I think it's really important for him to be able to spot that fastball early, just to get the hitters to respect that he's going to be able to throw it for a strike. In those different parts of the quadrant because we know he likes to throw the slider. He likes to throw that curve ball a lot. But if the Yankee hitters which are so good at game planning and coming in as a unit and saying, this is what we're gonna do this, we're not going to do if they decide. Hey, listen, that breaking ball starts in the zone don't swing because it's going to finish outside the zone and they really try to hold him up like that. It could be tougher snow. The Reyes took eight out of 10 games from the Yankees during the season now part of that time Was when the Yankees were really banged up weren't playing particularly well, but that is not to short change the Rays at all. Tampa Bay dealt with a slew of injuries over the season as well. David Rackley is the home plate umpire. CB Buckner At first the crew chief Mark Carlson is its second Todd Teachers a third, Marvin Hudson down the left field line and Mike Esterbrook. Down the right field line. It looks like a very nice day in San Diego. Snell is ready. Let Mayhew is in the box, and the first pitch of the ball game is a fastball in at the bell for a called Strike one. Mayhew judge and hits you in the second year of a two year deal for the Yankees. But what deciding that has turned into for them in a major league leading 3 60 for this year? Playing around in the opposite field as a swing and a miss there, but a good heart breaking ball. And it's so into Mayhew will put the bat on the ball as much as anybody and we'll go to the opposite field, singing as much as anybody right there got a little bit anxious for LeMay. You took that first pitch 97 up in a way and X pitch. He's swinging as the ball's coming out of snails, hand. This really uncharacteristic for D..

"Updating our guest list for today. Next hour. Andy Martino is going to join us well, rehash what we just watched in the subway. Siri's will also be looking ahead. Mets and Yankees moves before Today's trade deadline expires at 4 P.m. Eastern time will do that. David Faber, who was a lot of broke the story about Steve Cohen being an exclusive negotiations to buy the Mets. He will join us in the noon hour. And also in the one o'clock hour. Jim Calhoun legendary coach Yukon basketball. UConn Huskies will join us to talk about not only the passing of Cliff Robinson over the weekend, but also this morning, John Thompson, the legendary coach of Georgetown, so excited to talk to you all three of those guests, even though Jim Calhoun, unfortunately for For sad reasons. But you know to reflect on the life of John Thompson, which is such a huge life in a big man and someone who I got to interact with personally many years ago, producing a coaches show for him on Westwood One was one of the great joys of my life. We can talk about that later on, and just sad news about about Cliff Robinson mousse, You know, just a man in his fifties and and so young And he was such a fun guy to watch. And obviously, you know, being from Buffalo, New York, very proud was always proud to watch Cliff Robinson, even though he passed up Syracuse to go to UConn. Great, Great College career Great Pro career played here for the net, so a lot to get into, But your phone calls on the subway. Siri's is where we start out your biggest takeaway from the weekend. Mets fans, Yankee fans. I think we're gonna look at this one. Just a little bit differently. Mark is in Fairfield, Europe first. Here on this Monday morning, Mark, How are you? Protecting my call. I guess there's a blame to go and a lot of places in regards to the first game in that letter with the Mets. First of all, I I, You know, sometimes coaches go a little too. Give a quick hook a little too fast. I thought you's had done his job. He put up the ground ball. What you're always looked for. Can't strike out everybody, so he put up the ground ball and We all know what happened after that. It just I just think that was the biggest steak and, of course, miss playing third base, But I mean, I really do think the blame really. Those torch coach, You've got no one to pull guys. Yeah. I mean, you could look at you could look at RoHaas and be critical of what What happened in that bottom half of the seventh inning, which allowed obviously nothing went right on DH. You could look at the decisions they made. I mean, also, you could look at it when Diaz, you know, Can you not miss your spot to Aaron Hicks by a good seven or eight inches? Where that ball goes over the heart of the plate, and Hicks is able to hit the ball 347 ft as well, if you watch it on replay, the catcher's set up on the inside part of the plate, and he miss. I mean, he is he could. I mean, he couldn't be further from the spot that he was supposed to hit with that pitch in, and Hicks did what good hitters do when you have Ah, pitch that, Ah That that curves over to the heart of the plate and tails over the heart of the plate. He hit an absolute country mile on absolute line. Drive home run. So yeah, I mean, that's anyway, you cut it. It's a brutal loss of the Mets, and it's a great win for the Yankees, and you could look at some of the decisions that were made by row House and Maggie talked about the fact of The way that he used that bullpen with a seven to lead bottom half of the seventh inning on the decision that he made initially and the DEA has also, if I'm going to lean on, it would be as well to put it, Lou go into the starting rotation. You know, he's got to be. It can't just be clean innings. He's got to be effective. I mean, he just does. And you know people looked at him, maybe turning a corner and windy, as has not turned any sort of corner. Mark. Thank you very much for the call. Appreciate it. Yeah. The thing is, is that ideas with runners on it's just a disaster disaster, and it can't help his confidence at all. And I know there are limited options in that bullpen right now, especially when you get the news that Betances at there. He, you know, fouled up the game with a wild pitch that allows the Yankees to win in a walk off, and then he goes on the aisle with a latte issue. Steven Matz, who just got demoted into the bullpen, He is also on the aisle. So the hits just keep on comin for the Mets here, but that's why it needs to be RoHaas. Who's going to help them get through this right? That's that's where you hope that you can use a guy like you, Smith to get out of that inning. Get an escape with a win at 7 to 2. As opposed having to throw it into the highest leverage of situations, which is what you saw in Game two of the nightcap and of the doubleheader, and Gary Sanchez teed off on him. This is the thing also about ideas that is bothering me. It happened earlier in the season with Marcel Ozuna happen with Aaron Hicks yesterday when you have a guy who just you just like blew away with a big strike out one day, then two days or one day later. You come back and try to give him the same pitch Sequencing pick said he was wait, not it. He's like I knew from Friday when he had a big bad against me. I knew he was going to try to go back to the same thing. It was shades of Marcel Ozuna for the Braves, saying that about Dia's early on in the season and it's like I know he only had two pitches. Working, really wasn't able to throw the slider yesterday, but that's fine. Sometimes relief pitchers only have two pitches right that should be able to get you through. And unfortunately it wasn't his move said. I mean, I could have missed the spot by by Maur. Charlie's in Woodside, eh, Charlie? How you doing? Good morning, Maggie in and move hoping God doing well, thanks, Charlie to well over this weekend. Why? So Friday Off was it was a disaster and completely Completely. I thought about this team and the Yankees gonna lose all five games and the constant NAMI Gary Sanchez on Friday was just brutal and yesterday and yesterday and embarrass me Saturday with embarrassed and I getting pinches. And to be honest with you, Maggie and moves After that bottom of 16 when chance you got is a double play. I I was I was completely disgusted and actually went jogging jogging for one hour dance. I was going. I was like, Why is my yanking gloss notification of common? They want Twitter's like they're rallying like, then they want. Are you kidding me? I like 40 minutes into my my jealousy. Try to come back home. They're like, okay, but they want but I'm not happy because if they don't want to double has been a second in the math and baby carseat such a wonderful, wonderful game and Gary Sanchez call Michael C. Mac on Saturday show. Great show, by the way, Terrific. And now I know what I want for Gary Sedges consistency. That's the problem with Gary said Right here. Yes, grandson was also was like Finally at that time finally gets one. Honey, I mean, now it's consistency. That's why I want us to send a personal best record. When you realize you needed a jog as quickly as possible to get home to get in front of a television. Nothing will milk motivate you. Not music..

"Fair tire. Nobody. Beach Town Fair tire. Nobody will talk to Sweeney a little bit later on Yankees going to play their final exhibition game. Also at Yankee Stadium tonight, they welcome in a couple of old friends. Joe Girardi, Didi Gregorius. And the Philadelphia Phillies. Let's go to Mo in Brooklyn. Hema guys guys doing good mor. Good. I wonder. I wonder if those guys can get a video tribute tonight. 90 Stadium Mom quit a couple A couple of things to take away from the weekend. Number one are very encouraging to see the way otherwise it goes pitching really think that he could really lengthen that bullpen out. Always like this talent could never stay healthy is starting picture, but I really think that he could lengthen a very people panoramic to begin with. What? Evan question for you because I completely agree with you. The idea of having another leadoff hit record unquote high on base percentage guy like nimble for the Mets at the bottom of the lineup, which is why I always scratch my head when I see an hour in his bed. Yeah, I really think Nick who, when he's up in a big clutch situation. The best thing I could hope for is that he walked I don't look at him as a run producer. I think Level one or number nine is the best place to be putting out in the lineup, Not in a driving in runs short of that. What do you guys think? So It's funny. You say that mode is actually brought that Ah couple weeks ago about Aaron Hicks that even though he's you know, he's a good hitter. He's a productive hitter. I think that some of his skill set specifically the fact that he gets on base at a pretty good clip would make him dangerous in the 90 I think there's a couple of differences with the Mets and the Yankees, and I think the way Aaron Boone wants to structure his lineup. I think he wants to split up the righties. And I think that's a big part of why Aaron Hicks is Maurin that six range or that five range in the lineup because they are so right handed was Giancarlo and get Sanchez in labor. Glaber and judge that I think that they look at Hicks and see a guy that could kind of split up all those right handers. But it was funny. I was looking at Aaron Hicks is numbers as a Yankee and Brandon Nimmo. I was thinking to myself, You know, they are very similar in a lot of ways. Both guys need to stay on the field. That's their biggest issue. You know Brandon Nimmo at a tough time staying on the field last year, that's been probably the biggest issue of Aaron Hicks his career. I would say Aaron is much better defensively, That's one area where I think there's a big difference. Nemo is better at getting on base has a higher on base. Throughout his career, Hicks has a little bit more pop. Their averages are the same. You know, if you look at batting average there on bases are both relatively high there. O P s is a relatively high They kind of have some similarities when you look at him, But I think the big difference on why Nimmo fits better in the nine hole, then maybe Boone ever doing it with the Yankees. Is that hole right handed left handed things that he doesn't want to put somebody in the middle to kind of break up. All those right handers. Is Avery right handed. They are very, very, very uncommon for Yankee teams to be his right hand. That is they are. Yeah, And the thing the reason why it's not like that big of a difference is you've got guys in that lineup who are better against right handers. Then they are left handers. It is inconsistent that they all just Mass left handed pitching. You know, Giancarlo Stanton does. But if you look at Gary Sanchez, if I'm not mistaken, I think his numbers are basically the same. Facing a righty and facing a lefty, There isn't really a significant difference. I think the same thing with Aaron Judge there isn't really a big split on how he does against lefties. Now he does against righties. But to your point, Yankee Stadium's always been built as hey, take advance in the short porch and right. Right away. Judge takes advantage of the new Yankee Stadium by right center field right center field has always been a part of that ballpark with ball carries incredibly well. And where does most of judge's home runs go? A lot of them go to right center field except to it last night? Except for those, Yes, By the way, I thought was a very interesting stat. Did you see and a Gary? I guess it was. Gary had said it And when you think this's shows out great the Yankees have been over the years. The Yankees had a winning season. I didn't even realize this, but when you think about it, it's how could it not be? The Yankees had a winning season. Every year. From 1927 through 1964. Yes, yes. Amazing, isn't it a year from 1927? I would think twice if they lose the world Series of 26. Yes, they lost in the world says That's where Babe Ruth got caught stealing in the World Series against the Cardinals, right, so actually is 26 so from 1926. In 1964 sort of baby blue to Mickey and Roger. They did not have a losing season. Well, you know what's crazier than that? Just add. Add on to your point. And a lot of this is I told you I was reading a book about the old New York Islanders, who they had some bad years. They had some good years. But for the most part, the Highlanders weren't exactly you know the best of the Yankees. But remember, they won their first pennant in 1921. They played the New York Giants and three straight World Series 2122 23. So think about that they won three straight pennants between 2123. In 25 had a bad year. And then the streak began. So prior to that crazy street beginning, Joe they won three straight American League pennants, right, right? Yes, Starting with really 1920 starting with the roof trade lets it does. That's where he is right. Right. Starting with the roof trade, the Yankees went on this insane run. Until the mid sixties, when they struggled a little bit. It's unbelievable, because I mean, you just think about the it's mind boggling. I mean, you had that run what they want four in a row. You know what was that? From what? We were 36 to 39. They won four in a row, right? The Magic oak. Eric was parted at the end. He wasn't a win the five in a row from 49 2 53 You know, basically in a world Series every year, except to in the decade of the fifties, they went five straight penance from 60 to 60 for evenly went through championships in that run. They were three in a row again. Pennants 76 78. They want two championships and then you know that Joe Torry era. I mean, it's unbelievable. Think about its might. It's not well, it's It's crazy to think that you know, I started really understanding baseball in Brad. Say, 92 92. I'm nine years old, Um, started getting I watch baseball. I start to remember Yankees are not good in 92 by the way, is not good. Exactly. That was their last under 500 year period..

"Going. They're going to do that. With Aaron judge did doing it with Aaron Hicks. I could be creative bone. And if you tell me camera Mabon, or Jonathan holder Lewis says, I'm sorry, I Cam Eben would serve more of a purpose for the time being on this team. All right. Let's let it off. We head to Westchester county Chris dots this off. He's on a foul south coast. Hey JJ like you just said I'm having his own ball. Too much. That would be on the team like the nationals, and throw stain, and like four top quit Frazier couple top guys and try to convince that I'll go into the biggest problem Kristie. Why gonna want to go to Washington DC? He has a full no trade. He's a California kid. He does not want to leave the Yankees the only way you convince extent Aleve its trade in the Los Angeles Dodgers. And I'll let you haven't been watching baseball this year. You know what? We got twenty profits. Why can't we work out? So let Chris missing the point it doesn't matter the player controls everything Giancarlo Stanton. He's not going to say, okay Yankees, I'm willing and able to go to the Washington nationals. Radio. No, he's nine Chris. That's what he's so wrong. So you so wrong. I appreciate the call. But sorry you couldn't be more wrong. You think Giancarlo Stanton who's mega thirty million dollars? A year is get out of the game on a Wednesday night. New York City and his listening to me. I mean listen, I'd love it. Giancarl if you listen we'd love to talk. I'd love to have you. Come on, man. He's that through New York City is having a meal. He's hanging with some sees take care of business. You'd think Giancarlo Stanton is listening. The WFAN help he is. That's great for my ratings scrape for everybody involved, but come on. If you're a player that get caught up in talk radio and what the newspapers is saying about you. That's when you dead, that's when I know you'll never make it here. So Giancarlo Stanton got hit with runners on base. He's got to deliver, and yes, he will be held to a different standard. I know it. Aaron judge. That's what happens when you come from the team to happens when you're making that big money. Let's it to Elizabeth New Jersey DJ up next on a foul, south TJ. Hey JJ good to hear from you. I wanted to talk about the Yankees and cynically about in terms of the Karume maven situation, I think a lot of fans wanna make this trade clink Fraser and back in the last couple of years this year included in the year before Aaron judge got hurt now on top of it also had to deal with injuries of Hex, as well as Giancarlo. I mean, I think at this point you need the depth in the outfield, I understand you wanna make a trade for pitcher and definitely you wanna do that because it's something that's definitely need. But you also have to have backup in the situation. So I mean, that's something that needs to be considered here. I can understand that argument DJ, if you wanna tell me camera may have been serves the purpose with quick Frazier. We know he was raking, we know is performing, we also know he's got a lot of growing up to do that to me is the guy that you to make the centerpiece of a potential deal. I mean that to me is the guy when you just think about the overall nature of this team. It's hard to envision a long-term role. You give me a pitcher who can make a difference for the Yankees, I wouldn't think twice about trained Clint Frazier. Elephant one ask you something about the, the trade with Anthony Davis. I haven't really heard much about it. But it seems like the Lakers gave an awful lot not trade and they were basically betting against I mean against themselves. There is nobody else's competed Boston. Basically bowed out the Knicks couldn't offer them anything, why did they give up so much? It's the seems like crazy. They, they give the draft in the next five years, six years for two for a player. One of those guys goes down. And what do they have left? The reason I made that move DJ. It's very simple. You have will Bron James will Bron James is, you know, getting up there in age, you want to maximize that window Davis will help you do. So the way I looked at that trade. It was a win for the waas Angeles Lakers. It was a win for the New Orleans pelicans. When you consider New Orleans was dealing with a situation where everybody knew Anthony Davis wanted out to get ball. Even though the father is a complete knucklehead to get Brandon Ingram to get to get the fourth pick initiatives draft and all the other picks. Couldn't say no that. It's about how the Lakers build around Davis and LeBron. But listen in the NBA landscape right now. The warriors are not the warriors quite Thompsons going to miss a good majority of this year. You have no idea of Kevin Durant going back there and fees going back there. He's not have play this year coming off the twenty Killys. So it's a lot more wide open. So a team like LA could say we got two to five two hundred ten best players any tire league on our side. Let's try to maximize that LeBron window. Let's said to Manhattan Richard is up next on a foul up rich last night. Aaron Boone put Aaron Hicks three position. He spending two hundred. What all it plays on that team Hicks his batting third. I agree with that. And I know the Yankees, try to get cute, Richard with the left, right left. Right. And they don't have many lefties, they don't have many switch hitters. But with the way Aaron Hicks is performed over basically one hundred bats the cell, he should not be hitting tough four top five at a salon. I think that's totally fair. And I think the way you're probably right. Your best lineup. If you're the Yankees one two and three talking, LeMay. You one you talking Lugovoi to I keep Gary Sanchez, right? Where he's at net three spot. You wanna hit guede Berquin up, you want hit Didi cleanup. You wanna hit Stanton. Quin be my guest. I'm putting Aaron heck six or seven in this order. I agree. Jake today is giving you seven to one odds on the Minnesota Twins winning the World Series. The Minnesota Twins. Have to best record in baseball, the Yankees, a five and a half to one Yankees gotta get by tampering Boston. Now, I understand money's going to be bed on Yankees because it a name. But when you came that's the best team in baseball. That's a value bet. Please come on seven one. They had the best record in baseball right now. How can you ignore that? Listen. I think there's value, but you're also dealing with a team rich appreciate the call. Dad has not a whole lot of help within their starting rotation. I mean Michael Pineda for goodness sakes, starting games for the Minnesota Twins and his the other element with Minnesota. We know this, the Anki just own them. And we've seen it so many different times with so many different Minnesota twin teams they come the stadium they take on the postseason and they forget how to play. Now what are you? She is. You figure maybe the twins. Get by the Yankees. I mean why? Right sooner or later, it's going to happen. But the eggs, better twins to me the keys and the Astros of the two best teams in the American League. In fact, the dri best teams in baseball and you pick the order. It's Yankees dodgers Astros. I don't think the twins are in that class. I don't care what their record may be. I don't think they're in that class, but said to Boca doc, good pound Nick. He's up next on the fan. What's up? Nikki. JJ paying bro salutations to you, Nick. I'm doing fun now. What's happening dude? So listen, they still need is very I what can Yankees do in that. What is today? And I think today, but the can do. Bench, but. Frazier's back, which I know defense. Danny is more concrete in hot streak. This guy. Yeah. The difference donate, but hold on, now could phrase would where he's at in his big league career is not going to be up on the big club, if he's only one or two days a week going there and may been capable of being part time players in the big leagues. The Yankees not gonna have confirmed. You're up here to play one or two days a week. They're not gonna do it. You're right. But I'm looking at right now the best product on the field and the best product on your bench. I'm I'm not looking at long-term and what's great for personal long-term. I'm looking at the best so you can put on the field right now. I would agree with that. But Nick, are there elements that you can't ignore. You're not keeping the kid up two point two days a week. That's just not going to happen to not going to do that to a twenty four year old kid, and they're gonna stunt these development plan wanted today's a weekend. Listen. Nick, at the end of the day, he does not fit their starting lineup right now because judge when he comes back is going to play Hicks. I know he hasn't hit, but he's the only real center field that you have he's going to play. Then you look at Giancarlo Stanton. I know a lot of Yankee fans can't stand him but he is going to play. So you think about the outfield dynamic which about Stanton with talking about Hicks. We're talking about judge. It makes Quinn Frazier and expendable piece that's what it comes down to. There's correct now. I know a lot of Yankee fan or going crazy with or show them. But I think you should be a bargaining chip. They get reliever ill. Another h you're not going to learn as you're not gonna get aced with them. You know, he, he doesn't have a proven track record. He just gangqi but. Trading him. And in putting you know. Boy, as you're, you're, you know, when he goes on, on putting person and using that as your your infield. Because I don't see him. Piece. Because every single day is you back to what he was before competing. In about that. Listen, I don't think her shell will be an everyday player on this team. I don't think we'll may you listen it's got to play. I mean he's the MVP Yankees force on concern. He's gotta play DVD's your shorts out. Glitter as you second based been and you probably alternate between Luke void and Edwin Encarnacion between I in the age or shallow. I think if he's on this team he's playing two or three days a week. I don't think there's anything wrong with that. And the difference between he and a guy like Frazier Frazier will get you a whole lot more return for a pitcher. I don't get the sense teams that are rebuilding. At least I don't it could be wrong on this. I'm going to have much interest in GR shell unless they believe it's real. We shall see seven thirty five here on this Wednesday evening, JJ John jastremski in four Steve Somers that here on the fan. Eight seven seven three thirty seven sixty six sixty six big test awaits the Yankees with these Astros. And listen tap is good. Tap is going to be heard from. I just think when it comes down to it the Yankees are a better team than both the raise and the Red Sox in its division Yankees ask does the class of the American League Mets. Get one match gives to write back a bomb by who else, the great, Freddie for him. And so we got a lot more on the Mets. And the Braves will get to the draft and a big trade that was made the NBA all fired up. We've got a whole lot more to come. Right. That..

"About them New York Yankees? I mean seriously. I think about all the, the Saturdays throughout April and may and the midday shows Joe where we would sit here after the Yankees would lose another guy to an injury and we'd make a very simple statement of very basic statement. And I think very real statement, and that was just survive. Does just just play. Okay. Baseball until the horses come back. You know. That's all you gotta do. It's not a big deal. Just play five hundred ball. And since the moment where the Yankees were eight and ten they lost the game to the Kansas City Royals. They were eight and ten since that moment think about what this baseball team has done. Now. I do have some bad news for the Yankee fans. I have some unfortunate news. You know how some red sock fans liked to remind you that most of the Yankee wins have come against teams under five hundred they cite the Yankees record against these lousy teams. And then what's their record against teams above five hundred? I've got bad news by the end of the weekend. The Red Sox may count as. One of those under five hundred teams. So that's the bad news. I apologize. You know you thought you'd beat a team over five hundred by the end of the weekend. They're going to be just like everybody else. And here's the thing if you take a ten game lead over the Boston Red Sox in June. That's great that doesn't win the division obviously is still have to worry about Tampa Bay. That doesn't even bury. The Boston Red Sox, but obviously gives you a lot of wiggle room when you eventually go through what I think every baseball team goes through. And that's a little bit of a slump, because that's the incredible thing about this key run the Yankees, haven't had a slump since they were eight and ten. They have had one count them. One two game losing streak. And that was when they lost the back to back games to the Arizona Diamondbacks at the end of what was a very successful, west coast trip. Dow is the trip where they went to Anaheim, and they went to San Francisco and integrate trip. And at the end of it, they lost a couple of games to the Arizona Diamondbacks outside of that. This is. A team who yeah they've got a couple of horses back Aaron Hicks back. Great. They got him back. But they're still without the they're still without judge. They're still without your own Carlo, there's still without Matanzas. They're still without the guy you thought was going to be the as in the we Severino. And they've had one freakin to game losing streak since they were eight and ten but I remind you of this because I felt bad when I did it, it was back in two thousand fifteen it was the Joe Torry golf event. I set it off air to guy used to work at the station was a Yankee fan. The Yankees are just one. They run a rampage. They were eight games up in the AL. Does anybody even remember that that in two thousand fifteen that was the wildcard game year where they won eighty seven games? They were eight games or seven and a half up in the American League east and that day, I declared to a worker Tober. You guys got the division. Let's back up the truck. It's done and their lead. That year was over the Toronto Blue Jays. The Blue Jays Herat right at five hundred the Yankees. Like fifteen sixteen games above five hundred and from that moment on the then collapsed, the Yankees just played five hundred the rest of the way the Blue Jays went on rampage. They won the AL going away. The Yankees won eighty seven games in the wildcard game. That was in late July. So trust me, I get. And I'm not even going back to the seventies or going back to the met collapse, giving you something with the keys in the last five years, where I get it, you know, winning the division in June, but you can give yourselves and nice little cushion. And what was great about last night. Is that the Boston Red Sox take the early lead on the Raffaelle Denver's home run, and Jay is struggling, he's not dominating helped out by some great defense. DJ LeMay Humaid that tremendous diving play against the war Nunez, but have gets through the first two winnings. Does a ton of pitches that Forty-five pitches. And remember how this game started for Chris sale? Chris sale strikes out the first three guys at the game and he may have done it on ten or eleven pitches. I mean, just dominated PJ LeMay. Who sit down Luke Boyd sit down Aaron Hicks sat down, or you thinking one nothing. Bottom of the second inning. Oh, my God is gonna be a long day. Chris sale is starting to figure it out. Chris sale is going to dominate and j hops going to be mediocre, and we're going to give the Red Sox. Hope they're gonna take game on. And in that third inning everything changed. And how did it start? We all know how it's always starts, it starts with O your shelhah. That's how it starts. And then a clutch hit by DJ LeMay. Hugh, hitting that double off the fence. And how about that Aaron Hicks? I think Erin Hickson a weird way is under appreciated because he doesn't hit for a high average when he plays, but he has some great app abbots. He worked deep counts. He gets on base. He has pop he plays good defense. He can steal a base. Aaron Hicks is a guy that the Yankees missed and even upon his return. You're waiting for Aaron Hicks, to put it all together. And he's the one who comes through with that clutch, two out, two strike two run single to give the Yankees of three to one lead. And at that point, I think the mood completely changes you go from thinking up sales, get dominate apps. Get a struggle. We're gonna lose two three to one lead. Okay. Jay get me six more outs, and get me to the Yankee Bopha. And that's what I did. And I love the way our boom manage last night in a different world. I would say, come on let J half start the six and he's. Only at eighty four pitches, but we're not in that world anymore. We're in the world where the eighties right now have not one not two not three four four dominant relief pitchers. Now, I don't know of all four going to dominate the entire season. I have no idea. That's why it's great that della Matanzas coming back. And that's why it's great that maybe Chad greens gonna figure things out and who knows. He know him Brian Cashman. They could go the choir another reliever with that surprise anybody. But you've got four relievers that have been awesome. And I'll tell you one that's sort of being forgotten right now. And that's the eighth inning guys Britain because in the month of may after what was very mediocre to shaky start over the first month of the year, wasn't a bad start. It was just he was he was mediocre Zach Britain has now had twelve consecutive performances in which he has come in and not allowed to run. And so if you're Aaron Boone after five innings from Jay hop with a pitch count of eighty four where he was lucky to get through the fifth, which I'll get to in a second one hand the baseball the your dominant bullpen and tell them twelve outs. And what's going to be essential for this team della Matanzas coming back, not because they need another reliever because their arms aren't good. No, they've got four guys, I think all of them either have sub to ER as or it's right around that number the reason why del and Matanzas is going to be so important is so you can start to give those four guys a little bit of a break. So that every night, you don't have to rely on keenly out of Iino Britain. And Chapman, now you can mix indelible Tana's. That's where I think his value is really gonna come into play because right now, I think all of them, I'm not sure about Chapman, but with Britain outta vino and Kaley. They're all pace to make about seventy five eighty appearances. That's a lot. And if the Yankees are going to go, where the alternate goal is. Those guys are going to have to pitch a lot the postseason and they're gonna have to be dominant. So it's going to help to get Matanzas back. But I love the boom Paul J hap-. It's a new world. I'm an old school guy. I like pushing a starting pitcher, you'll hear what I'm about to say about Zack Wheeler, and we get to the Mets how actually would Adam start the eighth inning. But with the keys with this bullpen and with Jay hap and look has Jay have been terrible this year terribles a strong word he's been average. He's been mediocre with Jay half. I think you've got a view him to way Aaron Boone is viewed him in that get me five good innings. I'm gonna go to my bullpen because let's go to the fifth inning against the bottom of the order. He gives up a base it to auto Nunez gets the next two guys out. And then they decide to intentionally walk Mookie Betts after he falls behind Mukhi. And now Benintendi comes up was not had a great years at a very uneven year. And I don't know how that would have ended Benintendi does not have great career numbers against a half. I think it's two twenty two for nineteen in his career, but at ward, oh. June has reminded. You why he's at noon. Yes. And water Nunez reminded you that sometimes on a baseball field. This man has no no idea what he's doing. But even though he did something stupid. How about the execution by Gary Sanchez and glacier, Torres getting that tag down as Sanchez makes that strike throat, a second Torres quickly catches it gets the glove down and clear as day Nunez's picked off. And we are left to wonder what would happen, you know would Benintendi who loves Geika stadium has that perfect swing for the stadium would if he hit that big home run against happened changed the game. Would he have drawn a walk to set up a big app? Average JD. Martinez already grounded out the second base. We have no idea and the truth is it doesn't matter because Gary Sanchez who has been so much better defensively this year. We know about the offense. I mean he's already hit basically as many home runs as he hit a year ago, seven a much better offense of season but he's cut down on pass balls. He's. Cut down on wild pitches allowed. He hasn't thrown a lot of guys out stealing and it's tough to measure catcher that what because we don't know how many of them are on the pitcher. How many of them around the catcher, but how about that play a strike throw to second? And now is the moment where you said to yourself, and maybe it was earlier, you know, maybe it was when Aaron Hicks got the two run single, but you certainly set yourself. Red Sox not win in this game. Especially if they've got to figure out a way to get to that bullpen. And I'm out of, of vino had a relatively clean sixth. Kane Lee had a relatively clean seventh..

Aaron Boone says, the Yankees are opting mystic and do heart will respond to treatment and surgery won't be required. He was placed for now on the injured list. Although it's unclear how long it'll be out Yankees have another outfielder on the injured list, Giancarlo Stanton. Tune goes on the list with a strained left. Biceps which he injured on a swing? Do you? Remember, what at-bat you actually injured yourself? Yes. I. Third. Swing three one say. Did you consider telling them at that point in coming out of the game? Or did you feel that it wasn't that big a deal? Yeah. Contemplated that? One, sir. Cramp or some more significant. So just let a couple of mornings play out. And and go inside and swing a little bit. See if I could could do it. And I thought it had enough to finish the game. At least, but told you afterwards that it was something more significant than it was maybe a bigger issue. Well in the in the middle of the game, you got your drill. And you got. Everything pump in especially the want to stay out there. So once you settle down and can address shower and whatnot. When you're gay dessert, a little better and things start tightening up if if they're not, right? "Because when you do we do when something breaks you wanna be on the year right away. Because you have so many thoughts on the matter like the Beckham trade the bell signing. The giants signing gold date. I'm telling you, I'm doing visa don't show over at the south point for now. We're talking about all the tournaments and whatnot. And I say that news. I'm about to lose my mind. Because I was so shocked. I was so stop. Has been gone now for these last couple of days, you know, the Yankees have been dealing with a cavalcade of injuries. And it's not the least bit surprising day. You're not gonna see Luis Severino until early. That's wise, practical, that's the right way to go about it. If you're Brian Cashman, Aaron Boone the Yankees you point one hundred and sixty two game season. These games in April, not gonna make or break you. The Anki should have enough in the bullpen enough in everyday lineup that they can survive the wasp Severino, and if Severino can be right Komai, and that this is not gonna be there. I say some sort of a lingering concern that he's dealing with throughout the regular season. Who knows? You may look at it and say, wow, it could actually be dare I say a blessed. It could be a blessing because you have a stronger Severino. Com. September. And I'll tell you. We know that something that has plagued the Yankees in the past the last two years. The fact that Severino has not been at his very best employees off games. I don't need Severino dominated in April. I need them dominating the pig, apps and games that matter most now, I don't know if he necessarily ward allies here could be more or less than effective tipping his pitches. So the. Tell you injury concern Yankees. Give Aaron Hicks that big contract Aaron Hicks. You haven't seen them in spring training? Not good. And you hear about four today. And it's not like you looked at four it. The guy was going to have a big impact on this Yankee team with all the outfielders. They have with couldn't Frazier working his way back. I didn't look at four wheels. The guy where I say while he's going to be a part at twenty nine hundred plants. We look at him as a guy could be an asset is a potential threat. Now, I think he'd be okay. By the time. You're talking trade with a team middle of July. There's a big pitcher who's out there. Sure. Odds-on that team has seen plenty of Floreal where they're going to have thoughts on him one way or the other. But to hear your top prospect was going to miss an extended chunk of the year. Not good. Now, this is the Yankees team that they have. It's while they beefed up the bullpen. It's why you're bringing these spare parts that can hold the fort down until Severino and sabbatical sabbatical back, and I hate it. It's not one of my favorite practices. It's not something that I'm overly supportive of. The aggies season openers from time to time in the first month of the year. Not a crazy idea. When you have a bullpen is deep is the Yankee bullpen. And you're not going to have to. So you starting rotation. Yeah. I can get behind openers. Two or three times in a month. April. Where baseball's going on a like about a fan of. But when not shopping at least eight seven seven hundred thirty seven sixty six sixty six let's head to New Jersey, rich, she's up next. He's on a foul is up shower. Yeah. Hey JJ. "At one. Oh, six AJ Pollock one await Aaron Hicks. One twenty five dozen one forty six you're going to pick. Well myers. So go ahead and tell us, I'm not actually, okay. Wow. That is an upset. I'm I'm gonna take the guy. That's the latest ADP and the one who's got the longest track record of health outside of the injury. Shortened season in two thousand seventeen in Desmond has gotten at least six hundred plate appearances in each season since two thousand thirteen. Away. He'll run into the wall in center field. I didn't even realize what a what an injury riddled group. This was I age. Alex in it. It is it is three guys who regularly, and then indust- who's pretty pretty steady there as much as crafts on in Desmond. He's had twenty twenty season in five of the last seven years. It's really really stable production in the counting stats he still playing Colorado. Ian, Desmond is easy answer air. They're paying their playing. There's no doubt about that. Welch? What do you think? Do you agree with with just on that? When are you going to route? I mean, I think Desmond is definitely the option of these guys is good. I'm gonna leave. We'll Myers for someone else. Probably bopping talk because I know. He loves Myers. I will talk about AJ Pollock. I'll take. Hates politics. Would I I was trying to make boggling talk about him because he would just say I suck. I hate them to give thoughts on Pollick becoming a dodger. Now in what he can. Maybe do if they can sprinkle a little health on him because you know, they'll probably rest here and there to try to keep them healthy dust what PD's? But what should we talk? I mean, I think where we got with him in two thousand fifteen don't take that as expectation, of course. But take that is like a blueprint for where we're at. I'm actually kinda surprised that he didn't get the big dodger bump it almost to me. You could tell me if I'm wrong it almost felt like when the dodgers didn't get Bryce Harper people. Like, okay now, I can like chill out on my dodgers a little bit here because he's not going to come here and boost up. Everybody's value. I feel like a lot of dodgers are kinda undervalued. And it's gross to talk about is someone likes the diamondback tracked down a little bit. You've got Seger who's fallen back for obvious injury reasons. But I think Pollick is a twenty twenty guy. I know going around one eight, but I think because of the injury stuff people want to end up passing on him. And you get guys like Aloi Jimenez, you get Aaron Hicks. We can talk about you know, there's another guy that could passback Peralta might be going ahead. But I think Pollick is still a dynamic player. It's similar to Kershaw in the fact that like he's got to be on the field. And I know that's the big thing holding back. It's not the. Production. So for me, I've got a hard time falling off of players at the talent. Is there and the only question is injury. Where it's not like. Yeah. The production has really tapered back while also being hurt. That's just don't think that's the case. So I think he could be in line for twenty twenty in a prime spot with the dodgers competing all season long for the good average. So I like Pollock. Yeah. I mean, I feel you on that. That's basically one of my driving theories in fantasy is draft the skills when when they're even with health being absent and.

They just announced that they're going to close the tech. We call them stores and that dealerships, they call them scores. I think to close the stores of cost cutting maneuver. Oh, really? Yeah. Because they they don't expect that they're going to turn a profit profit the first quarter, and especially with model threes being released with the changes in the pricing their model why coming out to say that the next best way, they cut some costs close the stores, which you know, I I don't know if that's the best. I'm obviously they thought about it. You know, it's not like they wanna just said it going out there without some some studies view and things like that. But I don't know. I think you know, the best way to get people to get in the vehicle is give them the easiest opportunities. Test drive. It's easy for to do that have a fish. There's gotta be a test drive in in the mixed somehow in the whole process. Big shout out to our friend, Tom so cash who is texting right now. While we're on the show. So what's going on? Hey, I guess I should mention to you that a certain person by the last name of Hicks signed the seven year seventy million dollar deal. Go nemo. I wish Erin signed the deal for seven years. Seventy million dollars did receive a couple of jaded text messages from people saying, oh, are you related? Visit this I'm like, no, I wish it was. But so he's my internet nephew Aaron Hicks. You remember uncle? That's it. Something came out earlier this week that are our favorite governor. Governor Cuomo was begging Amazon, and and or Jeff Basil's to reconsider NYC for HQ too. I mean, he he wasn't on the side of of turning down to the anyway. So I mean, grabbing you stepping in and, you know, doing something to try to make this happen because you know, you're not have had those conversations. I think that was completely the wrong move on what what was seemingly a complete lack of negotiation? You know, it's not even it doesn't even sound like they gave him a chance to come back and say, all right. We'll give us a little less of a deal with changes a little bit. And again, I personally, I'm like, okay. They want a tax break at fine. Because again, you're bringing in twenty five thousand dollars twenty five thousand jobs east one of those people are going to be taxes on those jobs, again construction it's going to bring in so much revenue for the city for the state hanging. Not talking permanent tax rates, you giving them a break full while and yes, they're they make a profit of ten billion dollars or three billion dollars. Whatever the profit is. So what okay fine. They are creating so much ply. They're allowed to get a break for that. I'm that's okay with me. But then again under Republican. I'm on the fence on the bubble. Because I like to say, I'm, you know, formerly with the Democratic Party now with the independent party waiting for the paperwork to go through. A company is valued at a trillion dollars looking for three billion dollars in subsidies. Is it hard though? I mean for everything else that they bring. Yes, I think if you can scale back the subsidies, or and or whatever you can scale back you take back one point five billion of it or one billion. All right. All right back to the subsidy. What do you say say do it? I say do it. It's worth the headache. Granted you take that one billion or that, you know, zero zero zero point nine nine nine nine of, you know, million dollars, and then take it and put it towards infrastructure, and or the subways MTA somehow to make this, you know.
