"But shouldn't game changing series turning to run home runs be a get on my back and follow me moment. And twice the Dodgers have recovered, have gotten those home runs and been like, let's lose. Like, it's just weird. It is weird. And look, we'll keep talking about the Red Sox. Complementing the Red Sox, the Red Sox have say what you want. Traded Mookie betts great. Guess what? They went out and they got guys who had chips on their shoulders and had personalities that that really put them over the edge and allowed them to perform in these big game situations. KK Hernandez, why did he leave the Dodgers? He wanted more playing time. He wanted a starting role. He was ready to start playing Morgan. And it was hard for the daughters to incorporate into him into their plan because of the depth that they had. And the Red Sox were like, great. We'll take a chance on a guy who wants to play who wants to know him from team PR. And then you look at you look at a guy. I know Chris sale obviously is was acquired a long time ago, but, you know, that's an ace that that's a great personality to have at the top of your rotation who's yelling who I know it's annoying to me. I hate it. But he clearly moves the needle for that team in that motivation regard. You look at Alex Quora, very outspoken guy, supports his players also, is it afraid to be honest in candid? He's the opposite of Aaron Boone. I know, I know we're mostly talking about players right now, but that also that also goes hand in hand with influencing the culture and whatnot. So I think I do think it's valid and I think the big problem a big problem with the Yankees is they're just looking at numbers. Great. Who hits home runs? Who gets on base? Who has a high spin rate? Okay, bring them in, cool. And then you have a roster of robots. I love Aaron judge, but like, Aaron judge, you didn't start saying like cool stuff until like the final week of the season. And it's like, okay, where was this when we were 41 and 41.

"They really can't make a mistake here. If they're not going to trade, not trading Torres is fine. If he's going to play second base, I think that kind of that brings him back to a sense of normalcy. I don't think we're going to see we're not going to see what we saw the last two years. At least I'm willing to bet that we're not going to. I think he's going to be more comfortable at full season at second base. His bat's going to start coming around. The way I think he's going to hit 38 homers, probably not. I think we're good for 25. And there's no need to trade him if they don't feel like it's all if it truly all came crashing down because you still under club control. You still making a cost effective salary for now the cost conscious Yankees and it allows them to move DG DJ le mayhew around in the infield and use him to whatever they feel is worth his $15 million is 15 million a year salary because if his bat is regressing at this point, then they're going to have to justify that money by using him on the versatile end of the defensive side of the ball. So that'll be him playing a lot of firsts, some thirds, second DJ one glaber needs days off. But yeah, and drill and Simmons certainly can not happen. That makes this lineup worse. And that's not really up for debate. I actually view these short stops in I think there's four buckets. I think you actually you put Corey Seager in his own in his own little core Seager and Simeon are kind of in the same bucket even though they're going to command different money. See you're like you said he's not going to be a shortstop. I think he's got two years left there. And I couldn't be wrong. I could be wrong. And I get it, but it is a bit of a tough sell to be like, we need to fix the shortstop position. We are going to commit big money to someone everyone knows is not a shortstop. Yeah. I understand why, but it's just a hard sentence to say. Yeah, no, it is. I agree, but if there is a realistic scenario where he can shift over and the organization is truly high on volpi or peraza or even oswaldo Guerrero, who people seem to be ignoring in the minors. I don't know why he dominated triple-A. Then that's something that's a plan that you have. Hey, great. We have these guys coming up. We'll shift seger over to third. Then we have a shortstop. I don't know. That's complicated. But is that my first choice? No, do I have a first choice? I don't really know. I'm very confused to off season. Is Trevor's story the answer? I don't know. Is Javier Baez? Probably not. Is Marcus Simeon like we said, he hasn't really played shortstop in two years. I mean, he he's played water, combined 60 games at shortstop over the last two years. Is that a guy you want taking over shorts up in the meantime? We just had a guy who hadn't played shorts up at the major leagues on a consistent basis for two and a half years. So why are we going to do that?.

They got what else did they person. So they so Larry, yeah, so lair. An all guys who were underachieving on bad teams who were historically solid baseball players that would benefit from a change of scenery and benefit from being protected in the lineup. And instead the Yankees were like, no, we're just gonna go get star players that aren't entirely essential for what we need in this operation. They sour the relationship with Luke void as a result. Joey Gallo, the worst two months of his life and now nobody really wants him here. And it was just an unneed acquisition because he doesn't make contact with his bat. We need him to play left field. That was the position he was least experience with. A lot of problems, Yankees could learn from the braves because the braves were certainly treading water at that point and they made marginal moves that they felt would fit the design of their team and fill in the gaps where they weren't as dynamic. "Him. This is like your your one thousand percent all in on. You've got to win a championship. And you cannot win it with this car. Roster and i feel like brian cashman knows that bhai by acknowledging that the roster that they had even after the trade deadline not winnable not winnable in deep into the post postseason. So what does that say that says that we need to shake up this roster in a pretty significant way one or two people that doesn't really change the whole landscape of this team is they need to change it up and started. Catcher is a big area of need. I just maybe this is a bad example. Because it's maybe an anomaly. I look the red sox and the main difference is that alex cora comes back and the team is on its way to the world series again. It's like you could see how much of a difference a manager can make and how much of a difference a bad also never but they never really lacked. Mookie betts was gone but they actually picked up that slack. Pretty fucking quick. The other guys around that the core of the team was there and they have tr- it's like they took the The partial season awful jd. Martinez was a shadow was was a shell of himself for that year and then came back. Denver's and bogart's are okay. Why did they come back. i don't have. I don't think it's all. I'm not putting all of that on the but here's a drastic difference. Do you think he's a big bet. He's a piece of it but but he's he's not. He doesn't affect the talent. That's on that team. They still have on that team and they they brought in they brought in. They smartly brought in role players. That are complementary to those guys. The guys that they brought over were smart. They were good baseball players. Good baseball players. That didn't follow the same pattern as some of their other guys. They they change it up. They added complimentary baseball players. And when you have complementary baseball players that will just again make the other guys better on the field demanding job becomes so much easier. You just become a motivator at that point like your are more of a rah rah guy than than actually going out and and effectively tweaking what you have on the on. The plainfield gives the yankees what they had. It didn't match. It was a tetris board. That got stack. you know in today's date myself tetris. I don't even know if that's still a thing. But the the roster was was not the right roster and the way you do look at the complimentary pieces of the red sox brought in. They pretty good baseball players. Not great baseballers not superstars but one that could play ball were ready that that complemented their superstars. And i give them credit for that yankees. The freaking look what they did and how they went from zero about to go to the world series effectively. Make some changes. Similar in that vein. Do you know many people in boston. Consider alex cora. The face of the red sox franchise yeah. I believe that he's outspoken. Because he's outspoken. Okay alex cora like love affair. But and i hate the dumb shit. He does some dumb and game stuff as well. I know in certain moments like like every managers to make the astros. The astros have have a-walking fossil as their manager and they're in their fifth straight elsia. Who the hell knows does. Sometimes you can just be so talented that it doesn't matter. Maybe that's what the yankees were in two thousand eighteen. Two thousand nineteen. Maybe it was aaron boone. Who was actually making good decisions in two thousand eighteen in two thousand nineteen i. I don't know the fact is two thousand twenty and two thousand twenty one. The team was not talented. Enough in the roster was not good enough to just wipe out all other potential issues and again. I still think boone is a potential issue. Yeah i mean. I.

"So this doesn't look good for the whole. Boone isn't a puppet argument. Right isn't up. I'd say it does actually lends to the point that he was pushing back. No but so. But what i'm saying is right. And that's why they're getting rid of nevin and maybe some others so maybe they're trying to maybe this trying to playing chess. he was a puppet like boon not enough of a puppet in kept around. Cashman's keeping boone around because he knows he's ultimately a puppet maybe he got a little out of line and they have to have a if the off off underneath them so that he can get back to just falling in line company. I i don't know the whole thing. I i don't know what information i don't know how the information is being disseminated. I don't know what is what in this organization right now. I really don't because when you exactly right you hear from them talking about nevin being too much in the ear of boone and that was a fun part of the reason why the man got fired because his manager listened to the things that he was saying and they were going against analytics like how how. How is that. An indictment on the who's in charge of that dugout. That's what i don't understand you. Just you just essentially knocked down the credibility of the leader of the dugout at that point saying he's too. He's taken He's too he's too taken by other people's opinions and doesn't use his own his own judgments For particular situations whether it be with the analytics or using what he sees. It's going against gets love to get specifics. Not like actual specifics on like oh in game seventy five. He did this and listened to know what types of things are they talking about. Because i still see a team. That is wildly. Undisciplined has no fundamentals. They make the same mistakes over and over again. Is that is that phil nevins fault for that or is that just bad. Coaching top to bottom which includes aaron boone. If you're saying that he doesn't like some in game was it. What in game Moves it did. They're not like when they started to hit and run some more and still some basis. During the haiti israel. Baseball the only good stretch baseball. They played all season well. What's interesting is that one of one of the comments from from thames was talking about the some of the drills that they had used in the minor leagues and and that they they didn't carry them over into the into the The the big leagues and like they should have done more of that type of stuff and there was a disconnect with the way things were done in the minor leagues and the way things were done in the major leagues you know because they're major league hitters in professional headers was essentially the the reasoning why they didn't use all of the same drills that they would in double a triple a. and how they teach in the minor league so yeah at the end of the dead what. It doesn't matter what what what that with that completely misses. Is that They were the coach's sh should still do a lot of those things because baseball drills are really meant for fundamentals and like you know backing up the things that yes they can do what they're good at baseball we get it there in the professional these guys in double a. and triple a. Are also good at baseball. You know they're not they're not like the needing of the of the of those little drills but what it does is it effectively. It helps your game no matter where you are. That's the point of those drills. It always affects your game because baseball needs to be consistently drilled is one of those consistent. It's like saying a professional basketball player doesn't need to practice shooting free. Throws course they do yet. I in some of the other comments that that just rubbed me the wrong way too. It's like okay. I get it. You're bringing back. Aaron boone but brian cashman with some of these in my opinion wildly. Outlandish statements quote aaron. Boone was entering the free agent market. A manager he'd be the number one manager available he then tripled down on talking about how general managers from afar have complimented him. How good aaron boone has been. It's like you're either just lying through your teeth or your boys club of other general managers was like. How'd you find that puppet. I need to find out my guys. My bean was saying loved. Aaron boone loved aaron. Boone is a man. was it other general managers. That earned boone just like puked all over his shoes on and they blew the game and then they sent you a text. Real nice realized move by air. And it's it's it's It's people from the red sox tampa and toronto. They're like oh great. He's doing a great job he's doing even the orioles. Like oh yeah. Phenomenal job if we had an opportunity to hire them we will do it tomorrow. You guys just keep doing what you're doing. It's really working stupid. Oh yeah the guys. That i trusted are competing against a really good job. That phenomenal make. Sure you keep aaron boone under locking key our lowest where we might grab him like they snicker in the background. It's just a crazy statement one of the also laughable moments of the press conference today aaron. Boone was asked point blank. What does this team need to do better to win a world series and he did not have a coherent answer for it. As if that question would just came out of nowhere. It baffles me. How this guy can be so unprepared and so overmatched in basic ship. Well he hasn't gotten the report said he's not allowed to use his Any any any baseball knowledge that he is. He hasn't gotten the spreadsheet about what he needs to say about how they can improve and what. They need to be a championship team. He's gotten that email yet. So i got a lot of this on twitter today. And i've seen this over the past basically five months since everyone's been calling for boone's job if that who's going to replace him who who's going to be better than him if you don't have a replacement then you can't call for the firing and i say poppycock. Yes you can..

"Years three more years. Well option plus an option. What's up everybody. Welcome to the bronx pinstripe. Show scott never joking about the fact that the yankees have resigned. Aaron boone two three years because it's the only way we know how to cope with the just terrible news. In my opinion. I think in your opinion as well i it out when i saw the news saturday for yankees fans because it's really the organization. Admitting that pretty good kind of mediocre is sufficient for them or they don't know what they're doing what's worse to take either way. I think we both expected this to happen. You know this was something that we identified. If they didn't make this change at the all-star break or in july at some point like it wasn't going to get near forty eight hours after they got their butts kicked in the wildcard game. Once it went past like thursday of that week and we just heard nothing from the team. We knew the writing was on the wall. This is what was going to happen even with the the mini coaching shakeup at the end of last week. Still nothing on boone. We knew this was coming. I don't track record. This is what they do. They said they don't they don't they haven't left a manager. I mean we. We haven't had very many managers in the last Twenty five years but the ones that have been here. I've been here for ten years. Plus you know that's that's kind of the mark and that's what they're setting up for again getting close to that so they're in they're in it. Brian cashman senate. They're they're in it. That means there's a cashman extension coming at some point in the near future to probably now. He's already got a contract through twenty twenty-five visit through twenty five. I thought it was shorter and there was an option in there somewhere but either way there there clearly. Staying long-term the steinbrenner family is is Is good with the direction and just. They're they're disappointed in the results because they had the ability to be there but they believe this guy so it just. It just sucks. I was like feels. We're gonna talk about the press conference but like going to rehash everything we've said on boone. And why i don't think he's equipped to be the manager. I've talked about that enough. It just sucks. That they are sticking with him and that they're not willing to make what i think is a necessary change like a legitimate change and now there were some positives i think from from today. Brian cashman pretty much saying the roster is not good enough which is not something he has said in the last few few off seasons basically That he always preaches. We have the team to win the world series this year. He admitted we didn't really have the team to win the world series. Could they have done some damage in his words yes but he also said he admitted we knew it could have been a first round knockout like was because of the jekyll and hyde nature of this team. So i will at least grant him that. That was good because there's some admission that things need to change. I think it's ridiculous that then forty five minutes after. Brian cashman talked about that. Aaron boone says he believes the roster is good enough to win a championship. He just sounds like an absolute moron yet. Another reason why. I hate that. He's the manager you. It's one thing to sit there and june july august and say that he believes in his eyes. Even though we see with our own is that it's not working because at least you have the defense of this in season. I can't quit on my team in season but now when your general manager at noon says this team needs major changes and wealth. Forty-five aaron boone says. No we got what we need in house. You just sound like an idiot yet. I mean you have you have you the ability at that point so now talk about the team in a in a in a way that that is relatable to your fan base because at this point. You're you're you're on a different planet than everybody else. Who's watching this team. So and and i guess that's that's part of the reason right. Read is part of the reason why some of these coaching changes were made as well because he had he had baseball guys in his ear too much and on the few times that he did use instinct and gotten baseball argument they are looking down upon that and that's frowned upon. So there's mixed mixed things coming like the fact that they need someone in there to drive home to to to to be the bad guy in the dugout but also they need someone. They need more people that are kind of following the company line with the analytics Going on what. That is yeah. It's mixed messaging coming from them. Yeah the the one of the reasons. They cited that they're moving on specifically from phil. Nevin is because they felt he earned boone's era too much in that they didn't like that Phil nevin notoriously by the way on the manager. Who who who has the boss in this little ecosystem. Aaron boone. is the boss right. We didn't know what this like. This is like when you when your child is hanging out with a kid that you don't like it's not the kids fault. It's the other kids fault. It's the other kids fault. Who's getting little johnny into this mess. He's putting him in bad situations. He's not making the decisions. This other kid is in his ear. Phil nevin fell nevins. The the bad guy here. It's crazy what what are we supposed to believe..

"Patino who they got for Blake Snell haven't seen him yet. Brendan McKay, remember him like the third overall pick lefty came up in 2019. He's not here. Obviously, Blake Snell is not here. He was traded to San Diego, but he was a part of the race. He was thinking about Tyler glass now. Injured, not playing. Brent, Honeywell, who destroyed us this year and was the number one pitching prospect in baseball like two years ago before all his arm surgeries. He's not here. They're doing it with mcclanahan, baz and drew Rasmussen. That's who's starting games one, two and three, and in the first of the three games, the raise just eviscerated the Boston Rhett made us look foolish like three days ago. So but it's not over, Chris sale pitches, Nathan of Audie pitches. The series could easily get more competitive. But the first game was a complete walkover. And yeah, it was rookie Shane mcclanahan and David Robertson and JP fire Ryzen two former Yankees at the end of the bullpen. The rage just picked up for shits and gigs. They're like, David Robertson's coming back from the Olympics. Great. Bring him in. JP fire Ryzen? Who was cut off the Yankees 40 man so they could protect Brooks kristy, I guess? Great. He's gonna go the final two innings. There are stadium as a joke. I hope they split time in Montreal, moving forward, but you can't deny that the players on the field really wanted that last night. And they were without like four quality arms. Like when you think of the raise, the arms you think of, they're not even there. They're not even pitching. Shane mcclanahan Shane baz and drew Rasmussen. If you didn't watch to raise game between August and now, you wouldn't know those people existed. And that's the one two three for a team that looked completely playoff ready. That's why people want to emulate the rays. Not because of their wage suppression. Because of their just the overload of pitching. And in case you didn't notice, Yankee fans are all we're excited. We're all high mighty that are minor league system was great this year. Like they want it every level, and that's wonderful. The raise made the playoffs or won the championship at every level of the minor leagues this year in 100 games in the major leagues. So Jesus Christ, the only negative thing you can say about the raise is that BJ Upton called them out for their arbitration practice last night during the game, which is really funny. And I hope he continues to do that. BJ Upton's cool. Quick quiz, you know, the BJ stands for and BJ Upton. Boss man junior. Boss man junior, not a real name. Bossman junior and that guy's awesome. So I hope he keeps putting the rays on blasts 'cause right now that's all I have. It's like, you know, sometimes you revel in your rival suffering..

"It's more than likely gonna end with a big hit. And if not, at least the pitcher had to work and Lance Lin through like 80 90, 95% fastballs for no reason. The Astros knew that was the plan. They destroyed the fastball. They effortlessly beat the White Sox who were a really good team and every time the Yankees be the White Sox, you were jumping for joy. The Astros just eviscerated them at home. Lance mccullers didn't throw them a single fastball all day. Curveballs off the plate. Some random rookie named Jake Myers. Did I get that right? Yeah. First on the end of the postseason for the random rookie fought off a 97 mile an hour fastball in from Lance land to loop a two out ribby single to get the score and going in that game. Imagining Yankee doing. Just like enter and exit your brain that a Yankee, a 25 year old Yankee rookie started a playoff game in effortlessly handled his business by taking an inside fastball to right field. With two outs and runners in scoring position unheard of, it would never happen. You watch the asteroids and they're just so trustworthy. You know their stars are gonna show up and be stars. And the Yankees don't have that deep roster of stars anymore. And the people they do have, you trust them in exactly the opposite way outside of Stanton judge. Yeah. And Michael Brantley comes up two outs, runners on second and third, couldn't think. I don't remember, I mean, I honestly, just 'cause just 'cause of the stakes, I think it was one nothing at that point, they wanted to extend the lead. They had a shift on him. Apparently, I think it was three nothing for Brantley. I think he made it. He made it three to 5. Okay, sorry, but either way, like, just an effortless two out like rip single with the shift on. He's just standing there waiting for his pitch. He gets his pitch. He hits it. Like why, why does everybody else make it look so easy? Why is it so hard for us? And then you want to talk about hard for us. We got a couple other moves here that we could rip quickly. Naming Clint Fraser the starting left Fielder. I know it was kind of things were sort of aligning. But again, the warning signs were there. Clint Frazier's history with the Yankees never really got on track. It just never did, whether it was injuries, whether it was some bullshit off the field stuff. The Mickey Mantle thing, the dodging the media after having that terrible game against the Red Sox. Maybe series. Yeah. The defensive holes in his game. I understand he was a gold finalist, but the reason he was a gold glove finalist guys and I this is nothing against Clint Frazier. I wish him all the best. I hope he's okay. I hope he's ready to play next year whether it's probably not going to be with us, but I hope he gets his Barnes bearings elsewhere, but the reason he made most of those diving catches was because his reads off the bat were bad and his routes to fly balls and line outs were bad. They just weren't good and you heard it in the broadcast booth or they're like, oh, that's wow, that's a curious, curious route by Clint frazer there. And yeah, I mean, it was just like he had intrigued with his bat, but it was not entire..

"Podcast. I'm at a minor ball alongside Thomas Karen ante and I just checked to make sure there are four division series going on on Friday, the Yankees are in zero of them. So very interesting. We're gonna move along from that and continue to the post mortem. Who's got to go? Who might stay? Why the New York media is prepare you for Aaron Boone's return doesn't it feel like it? Why there hasn't been a Brian cashman boon press conference of any kind since Boone said that teams are closing the gap in the immediate aftermath of the wild card loss, gap closed. We'll talk about the postseason games that have occurred. But let's also address some articles that we wrote that we think are irrelevant for this context. Off season moves. Clearly made in the context of the World Series run that never happened. And Gerrit Cole getting harassed in the Boston bullpen wheel address it. I'm sure we can all come to an agreement on this. Folks make sure to find us on Apple podcasts, Google podcasts, Spotify, wherever you get your podcasts, drop us a 5 serve you along with a mailbag question will be more than happy to answer and I'm getting a little bored with the spiel clearly. I'm over and I'm going through the motions like the Yankees at the end of the 2021 regular season and postseason. But believe me, I'm gonna buck up for the rest of the podcast. Thomas Garrett, welcome to the pod. Interesting Thursday, great Friday coming up in the game of baseball. We are not participating. And the Yankees front office is doing their best not to butt in on the action that's currently occurring. We haven't heard a PEEP from them since Tuesday night. No, and that should have been there, what tenth time addressing the public for their team sucking for reasons that can not be explained. Would have liked to have heard from somebody, I don't know why there hasn't been more speculation that boon is gone. It feels like he's coming back. I don't know for how long I don't know. I don't know what this scenario might be. Once again, I think our biggest fears might be coming to life where they just might run this back for 2022 and see what happens. You know, one of the things that kind of struck me also was judges postgame comments. I know we briefly touched on this last time. Said he wanted to be a Yankee for life, but then said that contracts and trades are out of his control, so we'll.

"Like the managerial stuff in that sense is insane to me. We can talk about moving Joey Gallo to the two hole when he did earlier in the week and last week when it was just clearly not. I don't know how you do that. When he's the worst hitter on the team, laboratories is the worst player on this team. I'll just have to say that. It's just so by far. And then the pitching decisions I'll quickly go through. It's the bullpen. Look, you need your man. Your team top to bottom is going to do this. Not as bad as the Yankees are doing it. But your team is not going to be clicking and you're going to need some help in the form of the guy running the club. The guy who's executive decisions can sway the momentum of a game or can save the team can stop the bleeding at any point or can save the team from themselves and Aaron Boone continually does not do that. The Yankees the Yankees have Luis heel on the mound on Wednesday. Was he looking good? No, was he was he looking bad? No, he was wild. He issued 7 walks in that one. He finally ended up giving up his first runs of the season because of Aaron Boone's decision. But he'll walk he got one out. He walked two batters and then boom leaves him in for another batter. What do you think's gonna happen? He has no control. So instead of taking him out there and having the bullpen home, we're at the game, we're standing there at the game looking at the bullpen. There's nobody going in the bullpen. Louis seal is missing the strike zone. Batter after batter after batter, then file they're like we're at the game. There's like four guys up in the Jays bowl. Yeah. Just like stretching. Yeah. Hey, in case you need me coach I'll be ready. Yankees bullpen, like the bullpen catcher's throwing balls to people in the

"Podcast episode. But this is really shaping up to be one of the craziest seasons in recent memory for the Yankees. Nobody saw this type of turnaround. Nobody saw this team being galvanized to this extent. Nobody saw the rotation being this good. And the great part about it all is that, yeah, the Yankees did need that kind of fire from Aaron Boone earlier this year when they weren't performing. But guess what? We'll take it at any point. You got to remember guys, Aaron Boone underwent heart surgery before this even started. I'm sure he was still taking time to recover. I'm sure he was still taking time to kind of find his bearings and find that passion deep within him to really get the team excited, go out there and look, he's say what you want about Aaron Boone. He's defended his guys in most spots. I know the beginning of this year. It's kind of been problematic because it's been a lot of defending players who have been underperforming. And it's been a lot of excuses. I think the famous one was baseball is hard. We heard that one earlier in the year. Yeah, we know it's hard. But for as much as you want to criticize Boolean, I know a lot of people don't like them. He's got his players backs. And it was clear last night. It was good that he didn't allow that situation to dictate the game. He nipped it in the bud. I know the strike. The strike zone definitely improved after that. But you don't want to be the manager standing in the dugout watching this kind of let this garbage strike zone continue for the entire game. He saw enough in the second inning. He was fed up. He went out there. He led his voice be heard, got ejected. Everyone gets pumped. And this is the kind of stuff that you need. And guess what? Why not like the team on fire.

"Yusei Kikuchi and three relievers combined to help the mariners blanked the Yankees to nothing the antis had their five game winning streak snapped in a day in which they wasted numerous opportunities the Bronx bombers when for eleven with runners in scoring position leaving eleven runners on base to fall six and a half games back of the AL east leading rays manager Aaron Boone we got to get past it and and and and get on with it now but but yeah I mean it's a chance to you know really do some special here to finish off this home stand and and you know unfortunately we just couldn't break through Seattle's runs were both honored and came in the eighth inning on the heels of a routed door fielding error Kyle Seager's RBI ground rule double turn out to be the game winner the mariners snap a four game skid to complete a ten game road trip at four and six I'm Danny cap

"That's such a fucking arrogant thing to say to be like. Well you know. We're actually one of the better teams because we have all these fake these fake numbers like we're good with all these fake numbers so that's actually good even though we're making two outs on a single pitch more than any other team that we even though we have statistically the worst offenses and all of baseball even though we can't score run for shit and they're flawed team from top to bottom. We're actually the number say. Were actually one of the better teams. We actually hit the ball hard. We actually get the ball. Guess what you don't fucking win games by having a higher exit velocity than the other team your win games by getting hits and scoring runs. And i also wanna say i feel. We watched every play. And i'm sure some point someone's gonna make accomplishable places we pitting because there's so many i bet a lot of them are just rollovers. I don't think they're the sharpest choppers balls. That's very few and far between these are fucking like week. Rollovers that just your six five four. See him like holy moly man. That was a six. I don't even know what numbers i said but that was an unbelievable quote that i just cannot. I refused to move past that he thinks hitting into dole. Plays is what yankee fans want to hear. And i don't care what logic which we just explained his logic but his job. And i said before he hasn't set the lineups or this is what we're led to believe yankee bench which i believe it's probably true isn't really simple life. Maybe a little bit and putting their. I don't care about it. He has no roster construction input whatsoever. You know who's up and down with her nothing with him. Who's pitching on a certain day. Like debbie garcia debacle with. Jay happened the postseason. That's not his call. Who's going to sit here and there. That's not his call what he is and what we said before in the pocket he is the face of those decisions and his job is to not make. This team appeared like an even more of an embarrassment to the fans. He is a pr person. Basically secretary right. And he's so on fucking believably bad at being this press secretary this pr person for the team. And it's the quotes after the game and okay what. What was the quote tonight. He said somebody he said some more bullshit we we should start doing a bingo card. Thinks he's going to say after the game. We're going to turn it around. We gotta have better at bats. There's urge it's the same shit every game an awful week. I gotta get right. We gotta get better a lot of good things happen. We've got to find a way to start scratching out some more ws scratching out some more. W not not more thing is i. I don't think that firing aaron boone is an end all be all solution to be man. Yeah no it's something like he you want to say. It's not his fault fine but he's not helping. You need somebody. I actually do. Generally for the yankees to turn the organization around they have to and i said this even after the playoffs last year they have to completely overhaul. Their organizational philosophy tober. They didn't do shit to do that. And now during the predicament. That they're in. I think brian casper needs to be fired. Because i do that won't happen in the middle of the season. But i do think that no matter who the manager is. They're going to be a puppet as long as the yankees are running the organization. The way they do where they're just to outlet depended. They're making the decisions based off that the manager is going off feel or anything. He's of just doing what he's told. We need a new manager. Who as long as long as that's going to be the case we didn't manager. Who at least can motivate the team. Little who can give better answers to the press after embarrassing losses who can go out there and argue and stand up for his choirs and coaches after one of the worst strike calls. I've ever seen somebody who could go out there. And not say hitting into double plays or a good thing. So i do think the problem starts at the top. It's an organizational issue for right. Now you're not gonna fix that in the middle of the season you're not going to change your entire organization in the middle of the season. That's fine but a quick fix right. Now is to get aaron boone. Out of there get book. Show altered drake his ass out of the studio for the post games. And he'll do that so fast he'll whip this team into shape. He'll never run the team man. Don't have some. But i want an outside voice to kind of clayton. Offseason movements on right now is going to be. That would be internal. We would likely would be carlos mendoza. I'll tell you that in the men. Does i mean he does nothing for me. But it gets boone out of it does but like i also want an outside i. I don't want any right now. Everybody on this team has the stench of being a loser. Aaron judge great Labor's been very clutch credits of your cold. Without a couple bad starts. I have a fun thing for you right now. We're gonna do it. One of these is what was said. The other is made up. Air boom quotes ready. Okay okay we're in control of our season and our destiny very much so and we've got to take control of it. That's the first one. Second one i feel like i'm seeing especially with the number.

"The bronx pinstripe. Show episode five hundred and thirty nine. Scott i want you to take a thirty second pause in. Just wait and decide what you want to say instead of just initially saying what's up to the people on the show like aaron. Boone did last night eighth inning in baltimore. So take a thirty second breather and then come back and say what's up. I'm not gonna take a thirty second breather. Because i don't let robots decide what happens here i don't let process and you know the the the nerds tell me what to do when i see something. That's so very clear in front of my face. There are so many problems with what happened last night that we had to come here and talk about this one game with the baltimore orioles because it was a microcosm of what the what is wrong with. This team team is insanely frustrating. And this today's episode really is going to be a therapy session for for the things that have to be said. Because it's so goddamn embarrassing. What happened last night now. Starting starting the game with with matt harvey starting. The the episode was matt harvey shutting down the new york yankees matt harvey thirty two years old. Thirty three thir- buys we'll be forty years. Old matt harvey hitching the league last year. In the last time we saw him pitch with anaheim angels the reinventing himself for claiming to reinvent himself with hasn't gone into the sixth inning until last night throwing throwing making literally the yankees made him. Look like nolan ryan. You know this dude has a heavy sinker. That was apparently good from hearing postgame. He did not look good. He looked he looked pedestrian mediocre. He was around the plate. he was he was Getting hit yes. We have to do with the yankees. Be around the plate. they'll get themselves out. Are you surprised when when we did the bob segment on the monday show and we talked about number of runs scored and you're like so confident the yankees are going to bash the brains out of the baseball in baltimore. It's like why are you so confident in that. Look at this team. It's they're still not scoring even though they did. Take three out of four in cleveland. They're still not scoring lights. Things have to go back to normal but sell the wait before we even do that before. We even get into that nonsense. The though the eighth inning last night was a complete debacle here it was a complete debacle There were so many things that were wrong and that frustrated me and i wish the mailbag that came through from from monday's episode about the things that the little things that annoy you now that you're watching this like that. That's the first thing that went to my brain and what. I'm seeing aaron boone at their arguing with the empires. I'm just like shut the fuck up. Just shut the fuck up. I don't care what you're arguing about right now. Because in the moment i wasn't totally sure what he was arguing. But i just don't want to see you yelling about whatever it is. You're yelling about because that's not the root of the problem here. The root of the problem is a non disciplined that goes out there and makes mental mistake after mental mistake after mental mistake and doesn't change the approach in anything that they do. It's mind numbing watching this team play and it's sad to say that but it is. It's painful to watch his team. When i see aaron boone out there yell at the umpires essentially placing blame on somebody else. 'cause that's kind of what it is right. So why neat little bitch going out there screaming it somebody. This is not. This is not savages in the box. This is a getting your your guys back in motivating the troops. Because you're yelling just yelling because you're an asshole and you didn't do what was supposed to be done and Challenge apply immediately. But instead you're waiting to hear from all the frigging robotic people who are telling you know playing a game of telephone to tell you exactly what you saw in front of your own. Is eighth inning challenge. Throw the goddamn flag or whatever. Just tell them to initiate it and all this restarted. because your guy who was running with with With two outs growing across second base steamrolling into third base with a guy that has a good arm knowingly. Everybody knows that discounting report says that they send it on the broadcast ninety seven times it was a mistake and instead of fixing these little problems that continues to happen over and over and over. We are arguing with the umpires based on something that you didn't do because you took too long. Is the whole system screwed up. Yes the whole system screwed up the replace this screwed up the umpires are screwed up for. He should never have said no you have. You can't challenge it's dumb. There's no real timeframe. It was in between innings. It didn't affect anything of course challenge that play. But that's not the problem. The problem is this non disciplined team. Aaron boone using it as an opportunity to just get mad for no reason and guess. What if that motivates this team. This is going to shame. Yeah team come on no because you don't get motivated because like you just said the whole reason we're in. This situation is because aaron judge failed to do just basic one fundamentals. The ball is hit in front of him in lebanon. You're watching the play and you can see it. There's no benefit to us trying to stretch to third base your still in scoring position at second base you just stay parked there and you try and pass it to glacier tourists as if he was going to do anything. That dude has to be is on the season but yeah so you're completely right. You don't get motivated after aaron judge. Random them out of an inning but boone. You are one hundred percent right. He is saying he's basically saying whoa. Whoa we were going to score there. We were going to tie the game of the umpires. Just let me challenge and comments after the game to meredith. We're gonna play them right here and then you and i will react to them exactly. What happened on that ejection.
