"More than just the people and the space to vaccinate they needed. I t flaggers interpreters, police modeling messaging and more. All with the goal of vaccinating 834 people per hour. So 840 is what we did per hour an average but we had times we were actually through what was even hired and we think we could probably do 10,000 day after what we witnessed. There was real excitement for the future as the group assesses their use of two different models for the six lanes used the standard model in which the car drove to a registration tent. Drove to a vaccination tent and then drove to observation. Thea other two lanes used a pit crew model. So you have your registration vaccination happened at the same time, and then you move on to observation. That model proved quite effective and will likely be used at the next event. Cars were moving through about every two minutes. We could do quite a bit more. The group has been sharing information with other health care systems and stadiums, planning mass vaccination events. We're in the process of creating a playbook for the rest of the state and the nation looking at each model that is Fox 30 one's Kim Posey on Capitol Hill, Top Democrats vowing a bold fiscal response to the pandemic, with or without Republican support. "Picture. No joke when that's hit social media, my God for months and months and months, even maybe years, I swore I swore that was a photo shop. No, that's real Dude was like there's no way that's real. Somebody photoshopped that that's that's just too much. That's too We're telling you why to real is because the joy on this face, dude, look at that. You've never seen a happier human being. Finally, I think enough people finally can't be there like No, It's legit. And I had to lay down my arms and realized that he did pose for a picture with a 2 ft. High desert, And I'm talking like he's like, 20 some odd scoops of ice cream in this thing. Uh, I thought you're gonna tell me you're ringing the doorbell and you were standing there with Evans and McCovey and I was going to say you know what? Aaron Auto Goldsman get out of the kitchen could hear seven seriously, You know, in those black jerseys they wore in 19. That's five for William. I can do whatever he wants. That's fine. Oh, man, I wait. It was a fun one, and we can continue to kick it around. That was only the Friday night appetizer to the to the Saturday blowout, Which was no Matt Stafford for you, Polly. No. Matt Stafford for you. Now we're talking last week about like, three. A 49? No, not gonna be a 40 Niner. And remember, we're riffing last week about what it must be like for Garoppolo during the offseason guy wakes up goes into his gym in the house. Flips on the leader. And here we are just talking about the latest in areas that we could get to Sean in here. We can do this. And now, like all I'm saying is Jimmy. She's gonna wake up today. Flip on the leader. Go do some more weights. And now people are even more mad at him and even done anything. He didn't know this guy, By the way, the first incomplete pass in the phone. Oh, they're gonna be had him. Dude, They're gonna drag him off on the field and just be had him in the American sexy air mails killed to bring out the guillotine. Get the guillotine out here. Set it up in the end zone. Yeah, the stress level around Jimmy G. 40 Niners fan. Oh, my God. One drop screen past. So Grant cone. Lowest kid he was, you know about G hater tweeted out a A collage of Jimmy G misfires on Do you know any in his first For whatever reason it has build me up, Buttercup. Is this as the soundtrack along it, And it's just It's just bad throw after bad throw after being thrown and it's like, all right, I get it to come on, and I love Grant to it. He's my friend known since he was a little kid. But I mean, the point reason I bring up the story is the temperature of like, rage in impatience and ran all of the like Jimmy's got. No, I mean, if Jimmy doesn't go down, no chance. No, no. They might. You know, he might They could lose, like, you know, they lose the over whatever they lose 34 31 to the You know, Seahawks next year. Be like, you know, Jimmy, you know, Jimmy must go Jimmy, this Jimmy that so question More of what? Let's just say this, I could just could easily happen easily in my mind where you have Ah, scenario work. They something happens between now and the start of next year. Garoppolo is gone. They're bringing a new quarterback. Take your pick. Could be any one of these guys that's out there. Potentially. And let's just say like this new quarterback comes in the Niners Go, Let's go 10 and six. Okay now their tenant six they make the playoffs. There are wild card team. They lose the wild card game. Now, their season's over with their new quarterback, and they're 10 and six record that got in his wild card. NFC West. There's gonna be a real bitch next year. My question is, what are all these people going to say? Then? No, that was like that was the right thing. Good. That was better than we did better than we would have with Jimmy G. That's what they said. Wildcard. Lawson is good to go into the Super Bowl with you, buddy. I was just hoping I'm not even know much. But I know what you're saying. I'm just saying, what happens if you get everything you want, and then you don't even get his clothes. Probably this gets to the essence of life, and there is just the same people the essence of life and not And always, never living. Never living in the moment. Never appreciate what you have never got to do. This is this is the essence of the human experience. There are very, very, very few human beings. You can kind of live in their skin. Peacefully calmly. I wish I could. I would try enjoying what they have. You know what I mean without because you're absolutely right. Matt Ryan could come here Go 10 and six and losing the first round the playoffs. And what are all these people going to say? Like without? It was great. It was a grace. At least we got rid of Jimmy what they're gonna say so I will say when we had Jimmy, we had home field throughout and went to the Super Bowl. That's why I say because he handed it off 50 times where he must you may have, you know, you know, right now, Cyrus is pumping iron listening to you screaming grades. You know, there's a Cyrus Army out the side, Murph. If I'm ever since the war, 40 fives on the bell, and he's screaming as he's pumping hired Champ. Dude, you must go like with his wells, and, uh, you know, it's funny. You know everything that without question the Niners have the worst quarterback in the NFC West Now. Unbelievable. I will just say this. Yeah, Yeah. And I know this is I'm just gonna just for fun. I went and looked Jimmy's 2019 season versus Cuyler Murray's 2020 CC's. I must say that can't be that different, actually. Except for one gigantic thing, which is well, here's the deal Like so Tyler's completion percentage was 65%. Jimmy's with 67. Okay, um Skylar's yards per completion was 10.6. Jimmy's was 12.8, all right. Yeah. Skyler's quarterback rating was 90. Jimmy's was 98. There you go. Only problem is color rushed for 819 yards. Okay, so there's the difference right there. He ran freight under 19 years. He was like, basically the leading rusher on the team. So so, of course, Skylar's legs make the difference. But in the pocket and it and in terms of throwing the ball statistically Hey, Jimmy, through it better than Kyla Now, got it. He didn't rush for 819 yards. Those dude. How about the fact that we just started the show? We're already in a heated Garoppolo over there were there were the fox hole. But he says you want to be like when we're screwing around. I'm strapped was coming and I'm like Dude, I'm taking sips of coffee and riffing. I'm barely awake Do today like I couldn't be more serious. Like we're dead. We're like totally into this. I know. And I want to say this tumor from just throwing another were like, Hey, it's Monday morning. It's five. The sun has risen like Polly. What we gonna do about Jimmy? No. No, Jimmy. Well, here's something else to consider that you got to remember after Garoppolo got hurt in Kansas City, right? And they heard his name. He missed the whole year when he came back. What was one of the big talking points from Shanahan was okay. We gotta teach grapple not to get crazy like that not to get outside. They want to grow up on the stage. In the pocket and become more of a pocket passer. Like to see member. I told you. I'd like to see him use his legs a little bit more, though. I don't disagree, but I'm just saying there was definitely a talking There was there was a narrative if you will about being smarter when he rolls out and to become a better pocket passer, So I'm just saying, you know, I hear you, buddy. It's just getting I'm ready to run it. I'm officially ready to run it back with Jimmy. I was OK. If they went in, got Stafford, I would have understood. I would have probably supported the move. You know, just on the merits of the move..

"Michelle Small men from one of one ESPN and ST Louis is joining us to talk about on the Goodyear hotline. No. One air nado, who has joined now in a trade the ST Louis Cardinals, the Rockies are sending a Renato and $50 million, according reports to ST Louis for a host of players I haven't actually seen. The final report is to who Michelle. I assume I mean, there's probably they're very few places in America, where they care more about their local team than they do in ST Louis. So his ST Louis excited to get one of the top 5 to 10 talents in the league on the team next year. I think you nailed it when you said that. This is one of the rare places in the country where you can talk baseball 24 73, 65 and people care as much as they do, And I think a text I got this morning from a cardinal fan really describes the way people here are feeling somebody texted me this morning and said, I woke up. I went to ESPN dot com because I needed to make sure that I wasn't dreaming that this was actually real. And in fact, it is. But it was weird here in ST Louis. For a while. Fans were almost responded with the state of the team. They thought that the Cardinals were gonna remain inactive this entire off season. In the matter of 24 hours, the team goes out. They bring back Adam Wainwright. He was the best pitcher on the team last season. And is it obviously an icon and a legacy player here in San Luis, and they get the white whale. The player that favorite Cardinal fans have been lusting after for many years, and Nolan Aaron Auto, and as you mentioned, the Rockies are kicking in $50 million, and the Cardinals didn't have to give up any of their top five prospect. It's crazy. It's almost too good to be true. San Diego's on the rise. Atlanta's on the rise, The Mets are on the rise. The Dodgers of the defending champs. What is this move do for ST Louis? What in terms of the entail hierarchy where they had right now? That's a great question. And you're right as this offseason has continued on Cardinal fans were sitting by watching the Padres making love. Oh, they got you. Jarvis must be nice. All the mess. They're going to nab Francisco and door that must be nice. And even though the Cardinals had been inactive, they still had ah, pretty clear path to winning the NL Central. They run a post season last year. They were getting players back from injury, and it seemed like Could contend for the division. But you go ahead and you add someone like millenarian auto to this team. Ah, guy who clearly is going to help you defensively. He's an eight time Gold Glove winner. He's a five time all star. You know what he can do From the offense standpoint, that's your shares of your offense even more, and then we look at it. From an offensive standpoint, you're looking at potentially Dylan Carlson, who's their up and coming superstar hitting in the two hole, Paul Goldschmidt and then No. One Erin Otto. You're looking at a team that not only can clearly win the division, but definitely King content for a World Series. It seems that they're not a goddess, where she made it clear that he wanted out of Colorado. What is the divide in baseball right now between the teams that are looking to spend big and contend, and then everybody else it looks like they're willing to give up anybody and everybody. That's interesting because I think no one ever not a look at a situation where he signed that deal with Colorado, and it's clearly a place he wanted to stay. But then the team didn't build around him. And this is someone that once Too. When he's made that very clear. The situation almost has shades of the Shawn Watson in it, where he signs the deal, and then things kind of crumble around him. And there was a lot of tension between he and the Rockies front office there, general manager Just write it, but Hold out into the public, and he made it clear if I'm not going to win here. I want to win somewhere else, and ah lot of teams, especially coming off the pandemic season. Don't have the capital. You acquire a player and a contract like millionaire in auto, and that's something that the Cardinals have gone back and forth on for many years. They had wanted a Renato even before he signed that contract, But I think as the tension continue to go on the asking price evolved over time, and it seems like the cardinal to our mid market team and who are missing that gate revenue that they heavily rely on after a pandemic season. Real life the past year and that this is potentially a deal that could pull off and they went for it. So while there are teams who can't spend big, like the Met or the Dodgers, I think there are other teams like the Padres and the Cardinals that trust their core, and they see a specific opportunity and they're going to go forward as well. Obama Cardinals fan. I'm over the moon with this transaction, But I do have to ask. What's the concern level regarding the fact that Aaron Nado before time Silver slugger is entering his age 30 season and has had numbers propped up by playing it course field. He's not gonna have the luxury of 81 games at altitude anymore. I think if any other fan base were to have that question posed at them, they might be concerned. But the Cardinals have had experience with with this before Larry Walker came from Colorado seemingly did well in ST Louis, Saving with Matt Holliday. We were concerned about the numbers coming out, of course, field in the altitude even pretty well here in San Llosa's well became one of the major leaders of this team, a cornerstone of this team and won a World Series here. Wild Molinari. Natto might be a product in some ways, of course field..

"This is White Sox weekly on ESPN. 1000. I'm Conner. McKnight. Give us a call 3123323776. We've had a lot of player movement in the last shoot 48 hours. Not all of it's necessarily going to affect the White Sox their ability when the A L Central, but some of it has affected American League teams. One big move last night. I think it's still technically reported. I haven't seen the and to be honest with you. I Hoping for the show. I haven't seen it. But that doesn't mean it hasn't been official. Yet. It sounds like Nolan Aaron Auto is going to go from the Rockies to the Cardinals for a box of oranges and money, So that's good for the Cardinals. And good for them in the NL Central. Not so great for the Rockies because when you lose a player of that caliber, it's it's never good, regardless of the situation. We've been talking a lot about Jack Peterson, though, because the L A Times report by Jorge Castillo linked Jack Peterson and the White Sox, and I think it's really important to mention this. In the report. Castillo wrote yesterday. It mentions that the White Sox and Jock Peterson's interest was a while ago, right? Like some weeks before Adam Eaton even side The request from Peterson side as it seems, Was playing time. Full time kind of stuff. Peterson struggles hitting left handed pitching struggle might be putting it lightly. He did have a better 2020 hitting lefties if he was the 1 12 weighted runs created, Plus the career weighted runs created plus for him against left handed pitching sits somewhere around mid 55 mark, though 60 games. Anybody can kind of do anything on by. I'm sure that Peterson wants the full time job. In the outfield, regardless of the spot, but wants the full time job in the outfield so they can you know this is this is a pandemic economy right for baseball players, too. He's 29 years old. He takes the one year deal has a chance to get something a little larger longer, You know? Hopefully that's the path for Jack Peterson has his career is concerned, but I think the white socks and I think White Sox fans would agree. The defense that Adam Angle brings you and his ability to hit left handed pitching and.

"That's a change of life suddenly if you're committed to that much money and then 'cause that's the thing I've talked about and I know somebody you laugh at this and it's hysterical but you sign a contract. What's the first thing you do when you signed a contract a big contract your professional baseball player Michael by House right probably well? Now you're committed to that house and based on your salary. What most of us do we buy a house and property or whatever based on the money we have and or no is coming to US correct. You just bought a House. You know the money that's coming to you so you're going all right. This is based on what we agree we can do. We can may now. These players live in a different world than you and I do so that. That's why they're having a problem with this. We committed to the amount of the lifestyle. We've grown accustomed to we're in contracts ourselves so the real world does creep into this discussion a little bit now. I know a lot of saying. Oh they can survive now. What if their house payment is a lot more than we know? And they're suddenly five hundred. Sixty three thousand goes down to two hundred fifty six. I know I'm sounding petty. Could still apply some mortgage released. You're probably good. Yes they probably could but again. It's it's way more complex than that you know. Maybe they got five kids and they're all going to private schools and they're committed. We've here that in Colorado. Were supposed to have school in session right and then personally so there's a lot that goes into it but typically. I agree with the hooligans. On this one is the players are going to have to find a way to meet you in the middle. I mean it's it's going to. It's going to be there sir. Charles has welcome to the real world baseball. And that's that's true but the real world also. Yeah the real world is also. I think you're going to get a political debate on this too because as we said the millionaires are argued there getting taxed more than the thousand errors or whatever you call them right so they argue that. Hey we're we're being punished for going out. And really raking in the dough and taken a big risk on a business and growing that business and hiring and take in accruing all the costs and yet. I'm getting punished now that I'm making bank again. It doesn't always work like that. Sometimes key guys inherit the ever and so that argument is now in the sports world. Isn't it and it's rearing its ugly head and it's going to be difficult. I believe for everybody to to pop in the middle Texture here the executives and everybody else for taking reductions billy. The NACHO guys the ultimate and collateral damage and has no job. That's the point. The players are at least getting something quick crying houses. The House thing different. How is the house thing different than it is for any of us? You're missing the point. My friend I'm not saying Nolan. Aaron auto is a different human being than you. I'm saying that more people pay money to see Nolan. Aaron Auto Play Third Base then billy to do the nachos because Colefax anybody can serve Nachos at the game is that right. Is that fair to say that's fair to say not. Everybody is the best third baseman in baseball. So this argument that you're using that. Hey we're all the same. Hey let's go shoulder to shoulder and we're great. These guys are doing what they do extremely well and you know what we pay to watch them do that all of us. Millions of people five point eight million people watched peyton manning golf on Sunday Golf. "Just keep it going, dude. I if anything I think it helped the platinum records chicks bad ass. You burn down Andrei rises house. Go see her. Yeah. Let's go get that show. Does tonight. Murph and MAC show. No rest in peace, though. I do remember that was very passed away. We got Adam calling from earth. What would Merced reaction be if you had to like kind of like reanimate Brian Murphy in the studio today on his rage scale because the rage. Mount Murphy could blow any given day. I thought about this last night. Yeah. I seem like this would be a show. I get a feeling like he could come in today with a five run lead and Bumgarner on the hill. And then all of a sudden, you see, this course, six five and it's a loss frustrating. Make no mistake. You know, I actually was thinking Murph might come in for lack of a better term tail between his legs because it was his guy Maranto who coughed it. I know. I kind of I thought twice a week Murph Mike come in and go, you know, I I love Moronta. But you gotta get outspent. Yeah. You gotta get out hanging curveball now. No, no, the other part in this might be the more frustrating part. How about this the grand slam last night? Kevin what a moment that was like the moment. I think John fans have been waiting for since the beginning of the season like a real of grand slam if I'm not mistaken. It's. Been I think twenty sixteen grants twenty seventeen hundred seventeen actually I didn't realize it till the was it. Almost exactly chance. April seven twenty-seven. I didn't realize I was at the game. It was in San Diego. It was home opener. Incendiary go that Cain was getting lit up. Brandon built hit a grand slam to take the lead. Giants bullpen coughed it. Yeah. What happens it'd been two years since I got a grand slam the one that really hurts the one that I think Murph might be up in arms about and it's bugging me to will Myers, man. This guy out at the park. This guy owns the giants. And the way that in the way that like no one Aaron auto owns the giants. And here's the note grant Brisbane added in his piece from yesterday in the Atlantic will Myers now has eight home runs at oracle park since two thousand seventeen he's yeah. He mashes up here that ties him with BUSTER Posey in that same span. Wow. Eight home runs out oracle park. That's seventeen. Myers drop that foul ball in the ninth. Just say I was like oh happy about a bunch of stuff going on there. So we'll Myers comes over. If you missed the night, and it was joepat. I think in panic pop up and foul territory, and we'll Myers like very like he really handled that bullpen mound like beautifully. Honestly. Like, he glided right over it like a lot of guys would wipe out right there. So he glide over the mound. Total control of his feet. Ball lands and gloves. Just dropped it. That's all just simply dropped it. And I think it was the next pitch. Maybe two pages later panic through the walk. But at least he had that. I mean. Yeah, he's gonna mash drop and fell balls. Thank you drop a ball. Maybe in fair territory next. Out here. A little lead to a base runner. He's dropping balls. It doesn't mean it's spirits been crushed by the time panic to made it to the basis in the ninth or because I was thinking comeback being positive. Yeah. I was resigned resigned. The Padres have been hidden Kirby eights mowing down saves against the giants who they pitch crash at the end. But he was a lot. I didn't like that. It was not a not a great that bad. Here's another note on the power from the giants grandparents had this one. No giant has had a twenty Homer season since twenty fifteen. Okay. Just put this twenty five hundred Pence. I think that was Brandon Crawford had twenty one homers smokes. That's right. And so the last the last team in major league baseball to have back to back seasons without twenty home runs a player with twenty home runs yet. Twenty eleven twenty twelve Astros. That's back to back seasons. The giants for three seasons right now. Yeah. The last team to go three years without a player with twenty homers was the eighty three to eighty five pirates. So we're coming up we're coming up on like thirty. I mean, that's the kind of historical company. You don't want it. You don't want to be a part of seasons? You gotta go back to like the seventies. Mets. You know what? I mean. This is this is bad news mood that you can talk seventies. Mets seventies. I really don't talk. Brandon belt so forth gotten off to a pretty nice story. He's got three bombs. What are they eleven games in the books? I mean, I like what I'm seeing from him. I'm stating the obvious. But as long as Brandon belt is healthy and on the field. Guess there's a good chance. He goes north of twenty. I think there's a good chance. Yeah. And I have always been a big brand dope. Catty? Stay be consistent. Yeah. My now, I'm happy with how he looks. Yeah. I think we just stopped paying any attention to them. Installs. Seven. Attention. Hey, look, it's built stop paying attention to him hitting home runs the quieter. We are about maybe the more. They'll keep on the by the way, and Brandon Crawford. I guess it's a result of the giants losing as many games as they have apprentice Crawford with a quiet little nine game hitting streak going on here. Pretty cool. Yeah. He did strike out three times type of bunny. Finally, I one real quick. We didn't do this at all. And I don't know that this only happens in wins. But Kevin pillar had a slamming last night. You wanna go we give them some. Kevin. Some kind of positive on Friday. He came up with the basis loaded and one out ground into a double play yesterday. He came up, and he made them pay for it. Yeah. Career grand slam. I like pull our as a giant so far the key. Alright to me he already kind of feels like a giant you guys get that five like some guys don't ever really feel like giants to me Palomar already. I don't know. And I felt that way before the grand slam Brandon belt at say he got that ball. I got. Yeah. And he had a huge ovation. When he went back out to the field last night after he went back to center grand slam by the way, they you know, they always play the bye, baby. Usually they cut it off partway through the ending play it into the brand they play whatever music in between innings. They played it through the duration of the the half inning. All the way through and Pelosi came back out to center field. Got a standing from the outfield from the people that were there. Any gave a nice NADA tip of the cap. It was a good giants moment for hey, you know, what on that know copious given the appropriate love.

"Rough start for Colorado three to two black men is eyeball four. And he's aboard. Again, second walkie has drawn tonight. It's the first issued by Santana. What I base runner. Here comes Tony Walters is I. Walter's enter the game at the top of the ending whichever story left for the night. Lefthanded batter. Walter started behind the plate last night. Old for three with a walk. He is four for sixteen on the year with an RBI. Left batter. The pitch and Walters takes low and away bowl. One. The rockies. Be their eighth straight loss. The dodgers a singer told you. And their worst start since they began to two thousand five season one eight this year with the. Three and six so far. Here's the one L Walters. Swinging advance wanted one. By the Rockies. We'll figure it out and put it together and they'll get hot couple times over the course of the season. Most likely forget about this slow start to two thousand nineteen pitch Walters. It's in the air left field racing. Is pollock? He'll get there. Make the catch shy track. Blackman was all the way at second base has to hustle back to I there too. Tracked down. Are they gonna game Pollock had trouble with a ball hit? Similar spot. This time did not pull up on it. Then you tracking that out for Santana to down for Nolan era autos driven into tonight. He's three for three with a walk. And he scored a run two singles and it triple. Rockies a little bit banged up right now hoping to get Daniel Murphy back soon. Black at first base. Santana's pitch and Aaron auto takes a slider for a strike, and you're also hoping for the Rockies sake that nothing is wrong with Trevor story. Indeed. Let the game. I think because of the hit by pitch and also David doll leaving.

"Sal licata back on the fan. Eight seven seven three three seven sixty six sixty six going all about six AM or so we take you to the warm up show with Alan, Jerry. If I may I am sick and tired of hearing about the Bobby bananas stuff. What the New York Mets? And of course, it comes up to. I mean, come on enough. It's always go every year on whatever the body beneath day every year the same dopes on social media tweeted out and everybody gets all excited. They ha- the Mets are paying him till two thousand thirty five where we get it. We understand it by now it's been old news for several years. Let it go move onto something else. And then today he comes off because you know, the jokesters again, the geniuses what their gifts and all this stuff on social media have to post. Did you see this tweet Harris today where it was go going around? I guess it went viral who knows if our or not, but it was Bryce Harper his contract, and they were saying well, Bryce Harper will be with the Phillies. Bobby video will be it'd be being paid five years after Harper's deal ends with the Phillies like enough of the Bobby Benitez. Turtle totally agree with you. It's like let it go already. I mean what what does he get like one point one million a year? That's chump change. I mean, come on get over it until two thousand thirty five something like that. I mean who exactly get over it. It's a million bucks a year. Who cares? We get it. It was a bad deal. I think the Mets would understand admit that. We all understand and admitted do you need to bring it up every chance you get me. Look they did something that they felt they had to do financially at the time it happened. And it's done. I mean, it is what it is. Is that changing? It's just every single year. Like, we need the reminder like as if we forgot it. So that's what bothers me. We all know what exists we all know there. And by the way, that's not preventing them from doing anything else. Okay. It's insignificant money. So the idea that it matter it's not relevant. But yet every year around what is July. I probably every year. They get the dopes tweeting out all of them. You know, you are even some people that I liked out. There tweeting it out. Oh, happy Bobby Baena day. Here we go and then today of all days. Yeah. Well, Bryce Harper will be doubled to Phillies Mets will still be paying Baena for four more years after that. It's annoying. Very annoying. I completely agree enough for the body stuff. Eight seven seven three three seven sixty six sixty six back to the calls. Anthony's in new Rochelle? What's up? Hey, taking my call, and I agree with you with Nolan. You know, I'm I'm looking at statistics. Sometimes we say things based upon our opinion and not really south Satistics this guy Nolan. His is better than this. This guy if you look at his statistics Nolan he averages thirty one. The average is thirty one home runs a hundred and two RBI. We're talking about knowing Aaron auto it just to make sure there's in Maryland. And I'm not saying he's better than trial anything like that. Better than my trout stats. So as a Yankee fan. But I think you is going to be good. But to your point, you know. Twenty six seventy three RBI's and somebody. He's a great player. I don't I I don't consider a great player. Hobbies a great play. I think you're really stretching and great players. Don't average twenty six and I mean, twenty six home runs and seventy three RBI. I'm sorry. You know, great. Well, they don't do that. They look at the other coin anything that was an extremely frustrating phone call not because Anthony he brought up excellent points. He was good. But if you notice there was that like it almost sounded like the call waiting was happening on his other phone's breaking up every other word very frustrating. If you're listening along with me as you were aaronow is a terrific player. Five point six war. If you're into that. But you just look at you watch him play the guys one of the best defensive third baseman that I've ever seen and the best defensive third baseman in the game today the power numbers off the charts. Now he does play chorus field. So those numbers are a little inflated. But when you talk about forty two in one thirty forty one in one thirty three thirty seven in one thirty. Thirty eight and one ten I mean, that's consistency. And that is high level production high level production. Are not always in. I mean, he's a fantastic player. You're older than Bryce Harper as well. But the Rockies it's good for baseball. You know, something about this before Melissa's over at s and why it's I think it's good for baseball that you don't have the players signing the big time players signing with the cubs and the Yankees and the dodgers. It's not the same thing that it used to be. Now, you have you know, the Phillies getting involved there. You have the Padres getting involved there. Now, the Padres did it last year, but you know, going out there and spend three hundred million on Machado where usually even this year most people expected while the Yankees are going to go, and that would be the case normally we you think about the big time free agents while the Yankees are gonna get an whether he'll go to the cobs. We'll go to the dodgers. I think it's good that it's being spread around a little bit and Aaron auto. I think is great for baseball. Yeah. Any Yankee fan would have loved to have seen him here. What the New York Yankees. Of course, I would've loved to watch him play even on the fan. I would've loved to have seen him play with the Yankees every night because he's fun to watch. Now. And then watching the games would have been cursing him. How can the Yankees ever lose a game? But no Aaron auto is that good player that you want to watch him play. And I think it's great for baseball that the Rockies were able to lock him up long-term and keep him there. Instead of losing them to where you've seen that happen. So many times before the smaller market teams draft develop great players, and they walk and get big money somewhere else. I think it's great for the Rockies. I think it's great for baseball that Aaron auto is locked up there. Now, maybe it's not great for the free agency period next year. But it's good for me. I think baseball's doing right when they lock up these guys in the same way, the Yankees have been doing it. I think it's good for the game. John is in east meadow. What's up, John? Hey. Yeah. No problem. I totally disagree on thoughts on. I know that way you can have a good offense game in your life. Quarterback position Verona game, tablets. I don't know about that. I mean the Packers for years running game and pretty darn good quarterback struggled the last couple years. But you don't need the running game the way that you used to in the early nineties or or even in the nineties period and the agent nineties. I don't think that that's necessarily the case. Now now, I like having a running game you want to have some balance I understand that. But you don't need. You don't need to pick a running back with the second pick in the draft a quarterback heavy draft where you need a quarterback. You don't need to do that to have running game and the giants even ever running game this year anyway because. But that's the point John. That's the point. So what's more important the offensive line all the running back? Let me ask you one more question. How many how many rounds? Quarterbacks already good. What do you want to get Riley? You want to get Rodney Peete you wanna get. No, you're given given all the bad guys. I mean, new you're not. Personnel. All right. I could go to get it. There's a bunch of there's a bunch of boss. I understand that John. Manning was the first round pick out do. Okay. There you go. So are you want to give you wanna give me some bad ones? I'll give you some good ones. I mean, you look at Ben Rothlisberger first round pick. There's a ton of guys who are first rounders that have had tremendous success. Pat, Mahomes first round pick. Aaron Rodgers wait first round pick. Jared goff. Obviously first round pick Carson Wentz. First round Bamiyan. No Baker Mayfield topic. He looks right. The point is last year. The giants had a bunch of quarterbacks to choose now. You're right. It's not a guarantee. But what is a guarantee is that? You don't need a top running back. Second pick over as great as he is great. You don't need that to win. You don't even need that to have a good running game. Let alone win as you saw last year. This is not a knock on saquon Barkley. I love saquon Barkley as a player, and as a person, I think he's a total package. He's what I would want Odell Beckham junior to be off the field and on the field to shows that maturity you want him to be the leader. I get that's why Gettleman fell in love with them. I just don't think it's a good move for the organization or the team the way to build the team like that build the team inside out not outside in build the offensive line. And then draft a running back late, and you could get one good one in a productive one. This is going to be as talented saquon Barkley, no. But he'll be it could be as effective. And they had a chance to take a quarterback. It was the perfect scenario for the giants. Perfect. Where you had a team that lost horribly the year before a team that's had that has an aging running back excuse me, an aging quarterback that they're looking to eventually move on from whether it was the next year or whatever that year the next year or two years down the road. You know, what's coming at some point. And they had a draft that was top heavy with quarterbacks. They fell on to the second pick. We're not throwing they stunk into it. Timing of it couldn't be any better because of age and where he was in his career and the quarterback heavy draft, and they took a running back. And where are we now? It was a huge mistake. I'll believe that forever. Butch is in Raleigh, New Jersey. What's up? Hey, what's going on just trying to talk about this Bryce Harper dealer? I laid out some good money for the twenty game season tickets for the Mets this year thinking they were going to be being Hutto year. And I mean for me to take them serious. I mean, I I really wanna see them make one more move. And counter this Bryce Harper the deal, either get, you know, Adam Jones or pitcher what is it? I mean, I mean, I don't understand why they didn't go after buckle. She seemed like a cheap option, but he just got picked up. I mean, you think there's any chance they could they could get another bat or pitcher or I don't believe I think they're done for getting the bats Butch. They might. I mean, I know they're inquired about GIO Gonzalez. Maybe adding some death. That's not the adding some depth to that rotation. And that's not the move that you want you want Dallas Geico, which I wouldn't be opposed to I don't think it's realistic. And I don't know who the bad is that you're gonna wanna get Adam Jones, and I get an Adam Jones if they if they wanted him they could have gotten them already and not traded for kion Braxton. So there are some good players out there to be had. I think the Mets are probably done right now until unless something drastic happens with injuries or until during the season where they'd feel like they need to make a move. Got you. Thank you. Thank you. I should've asked Bush there. And I was curious why he was so sold on the Mets already to go by twenty game plan, and what has changed what just Bryce Harper signing. I don't think that would change the Mets not being at least play meaningful games this year. Well, the Mets should be decent. But when is decent good enough..

"For. This is after hours with Amy Lawrence. One of his thirty eight home runs that was topped at tops in the National League. It did top the National League last year and Nolan was third in the NFL MVP voting. And now he becomes the highest paid position player in terms of money per season in baseball history. It sounds convoluted. It's not he's making more per year than any other position player ever has after the Rockies give him an eight year two hundred sixty million dollar extension. So that you don't have to do the math. I did thirty two and a half million dollars, which means he's making more per season. Then Manny Machado and thought it was interesting that we talk to Thomas Harding who covers the Rockies then with them in spring training for MLB dot com. And he said the Rockies weren't willing to give Aeronautica same amount of years. So the same term of a contract as Manny Machado. But when you think of it's because Aaron auto is about to be twenty eight in April. But if you think about it. If you're talking about the same the same timeframe for the two players because Machado's twenty six by the time he's done with a steel if he doesn't opt out with the Padres. He will be thirty six that was easy math. But it's the same age or not will be when he gets at the end of his deal that the Rockies are giving him and again without the opt out there is an opt-out halfway through. But thirty two and a half million dollars. And to me, it's a huge move by the Rockies because of a lot of the young talent. They have around him. Including that pitching staff. Now, they'll have to be paid eventually. But right now, they're all not all of them, but they're still early in their career. So they're cheaper. Using my air quotations, they're cheaper on the black market. But think about Trevor story and Charlie black men and the team added Daniel Murphy, and I like what again Thomas Harding had to say, you can find that whole conversation our podcast after hours, Amy Lawrence dot com. The idea is that bringing in Daniel Murphy gives the team something it hasn't had or didn't have last year pretty much the entire team was devoid of playoff experience. Well, Murphy's played in a World Series. And he's had a lot of at bats on the postseason stage. And so they've retooled the roster slightly, but most importantly, critical for them was to make sure that Aaron auto was locked up because he's the guy that would lead them to the promised land an interesting conversation, which we won't have on this show at least out right now. But I've seen some point to Aaron auto maybe after a couple of years he will be the best player in franchise history. So that's kind of he's not now, but he will be soon type of thing, you know, what would make the case if they actually won the World Series. Remember, they got there in two thousand seven but they didn't win it that season. Ehlo radio is where he can find me on Twitter, though, you have ten minutes left to be able to weigh in with your questions for ask me anything. So that's our show Twitter while you're there, take our NFL combine poll how much will you consume of the combine combine consumption? I guess if you really need an excuse to drink beer, there's your chance it's football said on the couch St Pierre, and then also on our Facebook page after hours with Amy Lawrence. Our phone number's eight five five two one two four two two seven. Brandon is listening in Rochester. Welcome to after hours. Hey, how you doing extra taking my call? You're welcome. I question is do you think like the rocky signing Aaron Nolan if that'll like opened up the market for smaller market teams like the Pittsburgh Pirates and make them realize that they need to spend some money to compete in this. Day and era, and then I'll be. Okay. This is a rhetorical question. But I am using it because I feel like it will answer your question. Do you really think the pirates don't know that they need to spend money to be a contender? Do you think? That's the reason why they're not spending money. I mean, I think the reason they're not spending money is because they're looking at the past back in two thousand thirteen and everything when they made the run with Mkhatshwa and then Morten Lindberg. I mean, they really didn't spend any money on those players to make that run. So I think it's kind of pounded in their head that, hey, we don't need to do this. But no reality you do need to spend the money to get where you need to be. Yeah. I don't even know that. It's it's that. I don't think it's a knowledge issue. I think it's a it's a. A reluctance to spend money issue. This is a financial issue. It's a bottom line shoe. And and if they get to the playoffs great when they had the the winning seasons. Finally after what was it two decades? Great. But I don't know that the team is super concerned about whether or not it wins another World Series. Like, I don't know that that's the priority. I guess that's the message that I get when I see what is status quo with the pirates which is not being in on big name free agents. And generally not always they did have a stretch where they were they were committed to keeping their own guys. But even allowing their own guys to walk or to get traded before they get nothing for them. Okay. Thank you. You're welcome. I'm sorry. I wish I had better news. Like, yes. The pirates are in fact going to compete. I know that you have to spend two hundred sixty million dollars on one guy or three hundred million dollars on another guy to win. I don't think that that's a necessity. If you have a stacked farm system, so think about the we'll just use the Houston Astros because there are more recent example. I know that they have spent money in the last couple of years. But generally if you think about their World Series run other than just invert Lander who at the time was a trade. They're they're homegrown talent having finished what back to back seasons with a number one overall, picker whatever it was there. A homegrown talent came because they were really bad. So they get a lot of cases in baseball. You've got teams that are thinking it's better for us to be terrible. And to try to get some younger talent some draft picks, maybe stockpile draft picks and use those then to have cheaper labor that might also be. They might also be a surprise and turn out to be so good that you know, we are a contender. I don't know that the pirates are one of those teams that you look at it and think, oh, yeah, they're going to be all in on any big name free agents. The pirates are closing in. I just I saw this pop up. Alert the pirates are closing in on the fortieth anniversary of their last playoff series. When if you're a pirates fan that that is a big Ouch. They won three consecutive titles from the nine nine hundred ninety two nine hundred ninety two. Lost to the red than twice the brazen. The s. And then of course, had the two decades of losing seasons. They do have a really great park though. I love PNC park. Great place to watch a game. So there's that. Now, we're discussing Tom Brady. And you know, how could the patriots lose and everything so BT was talking about how Tom Brady was along for the ride this year. And I was like, really. Tyranny. Do we have drug testing on CBS sports network? Wow. Did you fight them vigorously on the is straight out? Yeah. We got a totally fine. Did you pound it out in the end? Yeah. Of course, I love you booms. Wack. A bore. Well, Bill Belichick's along for the ride. He says they won't hold anything back in this game. You try to do whatever you can do to win. Whatever play you think for plays or strategy or whatever it is wherever you I'm answering one game season. There's nothing else to save it for that is it and his counterpart is much younger than Sean McVeigh. He was asked about maybe a career like ballot. Check going forward. I'm certainly not even close to being mentioned in the same breath. Scotian coach spellcheck check of what he's done. Doesn't want. Any comparisons? Just yet from baseball Bryce Harper met with the Padres about that. They maybe that's the surprise team. He ends up with it offers them a big deal. I'm so bored. By those two at this point. It's amazing pitchers and catchers in two weeks. This can't even take anymore. They are team Lewis. Don't wanna see anyone of them end up in the NFL east get outta here. When I hear Padres. You're White Sox. That's great. But it's like this is ridiculous. Yes. Well, he did leave San Diego without a contract, but they did meet yesterday. I was telling you all the big money teams are out of it. The dodgers are out of the Yankees are out of the cubs are out of it. The the Red Sox are out of it. There's really no they're they're negotiating themselves for the most part. Yeah. Down in Washington says we're already now paying so many more guide. They're paying all their pitchers Adrian their pitch, and he said, no one hundred million dollars once again Boris misread the market. Yeah. And not good for him Nolan. Aaron auto one year deal with the Rockies to stay there. Twenty six million dollars. They avoid arbitration, and yes, I will play this devils took an early to nothing lead on the Rangers last night. "I just when Nolan Aaron auto walks. I just want everybody to remember how much money the Iraqis spent on three shitty relievers. Daniel Murphy Indian Desmond. Yeah. Just remember it. Because that's the money. And if you wanna throw Charlie Blackmon, and they're very good baseball player. But who's who who immediately got worse as soon as he got paid the money, but I'm not putting any nefarious nece there. But like it didn't time out well for the Rockies the way he wouldn't get that. We'll get to that later. But like to me this the Rockies feel like a team that just goes from plan to plan to plan every like six to eight months, and like, I think the roster construction reflects that. Well, yeah, I mean going with the the Super Bowl Penn idea last winter, and then they know they pay Charlie Blackmon. But if you're if you're Nolan are an auto himself, and you're sitting there knowing that you're coming up on your your walk year. And you're watching all this money be spent an allocated to all these places like after why what what the fuck are we doing here? Like, why why are we not having conversations about what I could be making beyond. The is it this is walking. I thought it was twenty twenty. No, no, no, no. This is his final year. Oh shit. All right. Yeah. So then it's because that's who Aaron auto is. He's not concerning himself with that shit. You're not worried about that. Keep you have. I don't believe that true. When you're that type of player crops. You're not worried about it, bro. No. But you you you're if you're knowing are not, oh, you're definitely looking at the Charlie Blackmon deal being like where the fuck might pay day. No, no what you know. That's what I mean is you're not you're not you're looking at because the idea of not being able to retain Nolan air is far more present in their front offices mind than it was about Charlie black. So if you're not, oh, you're looking at that going. Okay. Well, that that just Jaren tease me X, and you keep it moving you, go take your ground balls. You go make your sandwich, and you get ready for the game Nolan or not not not sitting over there base going. Well, I better get this. If that is that is the last thing on his mind, he's looking at those numbers going. Okay. That's a baseline. That's cute. Like, he's he's enjoying that. Ian, Desmond has been worth below replacement level each of the last two years. So maybe they'll maybe they'll try him in as a long man relief pitcher at some point of the all time. Biggest swings and misses was Ian, Desmond saying no it was like a six year hundred hundred dollars. Yeah. Although to his credit he recouped what like seventy eighty percent of that. Yeah. Could've been a lot worse. We can go quickly pass this when I think on a ball Sanchez to the national any thoughts. Feelings concerns cannot believe he's still in the league. I can't believe he got eighteen or nineteen million dollars guaranteed for almost two eight three zero over twenty five starts made some adjustments with the cutter. And again, he's joining Corbin Strasbourg Shire's her go get the the original Hanley Ramirez deal. He sure was former Uber prospect back in the day. Yeah. The thing. I I guess I'm not confused. But I guess my question here is is that they essentially paid him the money that they saved in the Tanner Roark deal. So I don't know anything about the prospect that they got in the Roark deal. But like he's basically filling both his slot in the rotation and his salary slot. I'm not convinced that Sanchez is better than Tanner rower. But. Well, they just need them to kind of be okay, right fourth or fifth starter best. Yeah. We hit on lucrative the angels already..

"I said there, right? Then. Let me let me you did. I it's all good his third golden glove winner and on Rockies team that made the playoffs. So good for him. Pretty good season. All around. Actually, there was another rocky player, and you already said him kind of spoiled ready who was the third base Nolan and auto again all in Aaron auto is sixth goals glory. And that shortstop a lot of people thought, it was gonna be Brandon Crawford. He was the favorite. But it's not it's Nick a'made. Okay. From the Divac. Yes. His first Golden Globe. Because coffered has won multiple. That's why people thought he was gonna be the favor yet again. And he's so playing high little all due respect to Crawford. But amid takes it in Tenterfield another Braves player ender. NCR with the third his third golden glove winner another brace player brace at a pretty good season. And again, another Braves player who is the right fielder, my friend. I'll let you say the last one, Nick, Marcus. Yes, he is third golden gloves. So that's one too. That is re for the Braves. What about Corey Dickerson? I don't know if you mentioned him pirates fielder. He. Doesn't it doesn't see on here for some reason pirates fielder? Okay. Come on you list? You. That's Corey Dickerson won his first one raises to him and the pirates not have a good season. So it's great for him. So Corey Dickerson I'd say pretty unlikely a name that hasn't been in recognition been a nominated name before. Inciarte not surprised pretty Freeman though. He he's been playing really well Aaron auto, obviously, not surprised Grinky. Not surprised probably the best fielder in the game. I can arguably say he's pretty good. You can put on my third base. Best third baseman, feeling wise. I want to say, I don't know if you agree with this or not. But I feel like no one Aaron autos the most underrated baseball player in the league. Well, he's on a team in the wrong. So I think that just goes with the territory when people talk about who's the best player in baseball like trout and Harper come up quickly for good reason. I it's more of a hitting. It's when you look at the best you always look at hitting for not a hits the ball to you know, he doesn't make his he's on is. I don't I don't know how that can work. How you could be less flashy, but he's super defensive plays. I mean, you see him on the PIN all the time with the snags that he makes the hot corner. So it's just weird degree. Player. No doubt about it. He just leaves me. He's just on a low budget team low fan based team that doesn't really look at the Rockies a lot. And he just doesn't get the respect he deserves. Unfortunately. Yeah. But he's still a great player. No question about it. Do you think he should be? MVP candidate. In the National League. I think yellow had just an amazing season a candidate. Sure. But I mean, yell and he's been on. I mean the Marlins really just destroyed their team. He he he was they had basically Stanton. Yeah. Performing well this year. Yeah. So I don't know what they were doing it looks like they were sabotaging the team mainly. Yeah. Their new full rebuild. So. Yeah. I am interested. It was interesting to see those two as on their Chapman and Olsen. I mean, they had incredible seasons, especially Chapman. But no one really saw that coming if somebody even the biggest as fan pro would have never said. Oh, yeah. We're gonna have a goal third baseman and first baseman this year. But positives this year basically credible season for for the unexpectedly. Good season for them. Yes. Absolutely. That's all about the golden gloves. We're gonna take a short break yet. Again, when we give we'll take a, but other news in the Nash major base. Major league baseball league of associations of America. Right back right after this..

"To walk people in front of big hairs like that so he's gonna be like try and get out your judge so you don't have to face him face jakob stan with aaron judge at first base because he walked in in the national league mvp that's going to be pretty wide open i'm always known air now guy and a west guy so i like nolan knowing been kinda that stubbed guy he gets that people think his stats are little ballooned because he plays in because he plays in colorado sometimes is a way stats aren't as good as they could be but i like no one he's got a great swing colorado rockies third baseman he's got a great glove too so if you're looking at somebody who is going to do at the plate and in the field for an mvp candidate that's definitely your guy aaron auto and then in the american league for the cy young we had clue last year that's can't go away from this year it's would be tough to do so but i'm gonna do it i'm gonna go with i'm gonna say dallas gets back in there actually you know what we're going to go dark horse justin verlander he's going to have maybe a little renaissance season playing for the astros gonna have a lot of good run support he's got some nasty stuff and then the national league it's tough one nationally you got the syndergaard can stay healthy he's a favorite drug garm stay healthy he's a favorite in the national league east is kind of stacked in pitcher when it comes to pitching and then obviously strasbourg and sauce berg and kurt and came in i came and say it's sure zor and then obviously kershaw who is in the wet over in the west for the dodgers so it's going to be those guys are probably just leave them all out there it's kind of grab bag when it comes to those five guys you can pick anyone if everyone any whoever stays healthy in that group they're going to put up numbers whoever can pitch out and and lasted length of the season and not deal with too many injuries or not go drop out for the whole beginning season like garnered did will definitely put numbers and be favourite for that.

"The baseball season is different in length so you can take two weeks when you're up that big essentially off mentally i'm not saying that i'm not giving him an awesome excuse for it i still think you gotta run through the tape as a general rule but there's obviously been some level of just mental lapse where they recognize that onto win these games and in baseball is different from basketball in for football and football you can't do this for a week the cost of while you're done right you just can't do it it baseball you literally can basically take a month off when you're up fifth when you're up 25 games and that's what they've they've done that they've done that i just need at some point and maybe dave roberts could explain the better than us been let lissy of dave whose his his whole thing since you've been gone has been look i promise you win when the division we're going to be fine we have to play better baseball i believe in the town on this team at that sprint right he's been very steady let's let's hear him last night you know that first at that set the tone celli blackman competed had a good at bat of seven a pitch base it up the middle and then the mayhew put together good or bad double right there and you know then with aaron auto tries he tries to go away with a fastball leaks said middle and you're down three zero so it happened quickly and um you know outside of that he kept competing and those guys obviously got the pitch count up and down you know clayton you did what he did and competed as it to the to the and and i think for me to get him up four times to try to build that pitch down in some way but not go to extreme with him in this situation it's kind of ai it's a tough on tonight and down.
