"And I did not know that, even though I love Freddie prawn to watch a lot of brewers games. He is great. He throws a 92 mile an hour fastball and batters swing at it. Like it's a 105 or something. Like if you haven't watched him pitch, I highly suggest it. He's really fun on the mound. He's doesn't always know where the ball is going. That's one downside, but I don't know, I love the animated little guys who just throw just all kinds of different unhittable pitches, and he's definitely that. Adrian Hauser and Eric Lauer. Yeah, I mean, they are very good for fourth and 5th starters. I don't think that you would put them in the category of elite in the way that these other guys, but that's a great four or 5 to have. And then the bullpen is really good. It has their top prospect, Aaron ashby, Meg. Is that right? Yeah. I say Andy every time. Nope, it's Aaron. You were right. Aaron ashby, all right. And he'll graduate this year. He was in the majors last year. He was awesome. He's really good. He's probably a long-term reliever, even though, I don't know, he made some starts in the miners last year before they realized they needed him in the bullpen. But their bullpen is just awesome. I haven't mentioned hater or Williams yet, and that's probably the best one to relieve punch. That there is. There are pitching is going to be really good. The biggest weakness, I wrote down 5 positions, and so I'm just going to say offense. Yeah. They just have so many question marks. And this team is like old. Like this lineup isn't is not young. Yeah, I didn't. I never would have guessed this. Lorenzo Cain is older than Andrew McCutchen. Really? Yeah, he's a year older. I don't know that I would have guessed that either, actually. 'cause he plays center field, like wet. Right. And mccutcheon did play center field well, but a long time ago. And it kind of surprised by that. Yeah, I'm a little bit worried about Kane's durability. He played well last year when he played. He just missed a lot of time. First base, they have, that's a good question. They might have rowdy teles, they might have cast in Europe, kesten hero was unplayable last year. Yeah. And he kept going down to the miners and coming back up and continuing to be unplayable. And so we go back down to the miners, come back up and be unplayable. I I've seen that he's shortened up his mechanics a little bit in spring this year. He has just this giant leg kick, like a, I don't know, his knee goes up to chest level almost. It seems like when he is timing a timing of pitcher's delivery. And it just doesn't look like a major league hitter can do that, but he was when he first debuted, and it was working. So it looks like he's cleaned up his mechanics a little bit, but it's going to be hard to really count on that. You know, a lot of the excitement of kesten hero was that he could stand at second base and Colton Wong is so much better at that and apparently just a better hitter. We project Wong for a better batting line that it just feels really weird that he's part of their plans at first base, but he is. And that's before we get to hunter Renfro and hunter Renfro is really good at hitting lefties and he's their best outfielder other than Yelich against righties too. That's not really what you want. I was trying to figure out a platoon for him, but you can use Jace Peterson there. I think he's worse than hunter Renfro against righties, even though he's left handed. And he's not a good outfielder and hunter and for his. It's just an awkward situation where they just don't have enough people to fill the lineup. They have some good hitters, and they have some okay hitters. I think Christian Yelich, who I'll talk about in a little bit, I guess, is, you know, he might be great. And I like Willie Thomas and I have been impressed by over narvaez. I think lucius is very underrated and yeah, I didn't name 9 positions there. I don't know if you noticed. The other positions are not great. Yeah. Well, is there anyone who could potentially break out because it sounds like they could use someone? I picked Hauser as my breakout pick. I have been waiting for Hauser to break out for a little bit. It's not the obvious place they need a breakout. And if you wanted to say Luis Arias, you could too. I just think he's already good. Hauser is maybe the perfect Cardinals pitcher. He just has an incredible sinker. Nobody can put the ball in the air against him at all. And if he could develop like one good secondary pitch to go with it, then I think he would be like a blow three ERA guy. And he has a career ERA in the threes. Over 300 eggs, not very long. And a low fours fip. He's a good pitcher as it is. He walks a few too many and he doesn't strike out enough and it just doesn't matter because you can't put the ball in the air against him. And if he can just figure out a way to keep throwing that sinker and pair it a little bit better with like maybe one of these sweeping sliders that teams seem to be able to teach pitchers very easily now. He's mainly curveball changeup to go with his sinker and they don't mirror it perfectly and again like he doesn't strike guys out. He doesn't get a lot of swings and misses and he's still an effective pitcher and I think when you start with that, then you're really just one swing and miss away one swim is pitch away from being really good and the brewers have been pretty good about getting that out of people or figuring out which pitch mix works for them..

"Her, and here's a drive out to center back on. It is Heredia at the track. He looks up It is gone. Really a dollars jumping on the first Midwest Bank hotline? Here's Brewers Podcaster Wayne. Gringo. Hello, Lane. How you doing, my friend? I'm doing wonderful. Enjoying a nice off day? Yeah, yeah, yeah. Thanks for spending part of it with us. I want to ask you about Kolten Wong Amazing pop at the top great leather excitement on the basis saw that this weekend again. What's the most important thing that Wang brings to this team. Uh, I just think the energy and that's really a theme throughout this team. I mean, we talk about that so much with Willie Adama's. But Colton has been bringing a ton of injury energy since day one also, and I actually wrote about this today. It will be in a blog on poor come tomorrow. He's been exactly what the Brewers thought he was going to be when they signed him, but it feels like he took his game to another level this week. And I think going back to ST Louis, you know, 100% capacity, even though they didn't have four crowds at Busch Stadium. I think he really wanted to show up in his old ballpark this week because he did some really good things in that series in ST Louis. And of course, everybody's talked about the stolen base off of Jati, which was, I think more sentimental for him than anything else. But he hit really well in that series and made some great defensive plays in that series, and it carried over into the National series. The play. On Saturday night is one we're going to talk about when we talk about this season, and we talk about individual place That's going to be one of the three or four that we're going to be talking about when the season's over. It was such a high baseball IQ high awareness type of play, and it was a lot of fun. If you watched it on the replay. With the close up of Kolten, Wong is face as he Tennessee's out, that's not going to get it done. And then all of a sudden, he's like They're all going for it, and you can see his eyes get big and he races back with a sense of urgency to tag you can kind of see it developed just by watching his face. That was a really fun moment. You know, offensively speaking, Christian, yellowed, starting to tick up here a little bit Lane 3 60 over his last seven starts Couple home runs, including the Grand Slam. We haven't seen a ton of pop from yelling. What do you think has changed here and I thought his line after the game was great. The story has not been written on his season Northern brewery season. I think that's a great perspective to you know, his overall numbers aren't anywhere near where he'd want them to be. But the team has a chance to accomplish exactly what he wants more than anything else, which is to win a World Series, so the story hasn't been written yet. I think he's hung in there. More than anything, and I think you started to see it on the road trip. Yeah, the power wasn't there, but he's starting to get some doubles. He gapped a few baseballs. He started to have a lot of hard contact down in ST Louis and you look over his last 11 games and 10 starts in there. He's hitting 3 56 in that stretch. He has the two home runs, but he has some doubles in there as well. He's driving in runs. He's getting some hits with runners in scoring position, and I just think more than anything, he's getting some positive reinforcement. He's getting positive results. And when that happens, you just naturally press a little bit less. You can start to be yourself again, and we all know what Christian Yelich is like when he is himself, and I think we're starting to see it. Hopefully, it continues as we get ready for this big series with the Reds, but he even tweeted yesterday it It feels good to feel good. And so I think that's him. Acknowledging that he feels a little bit different. The timing looks better. That's probably the most simplistic way of putting it. The swing doesn't look a ton different, but the timing looks a little bit better. And I think he's getting a little bit more aggressive early in counts to where he was a little more passive. If you go back to June and early July, and I think those two things combined better timing and a little bit more aggressive when you go back to 18 in the second half and over the 19 season, go look up. How many? Oh one pitches. He hit out 02 pitches even but certainly early in the count home runs, he Get a ton of them. In those two years in Lane, Aaron asked me the Brewers top pitching prospect is settled in after his rough first start ever against the Cubs. Where does he factor in not only the rest of the way, but in the month of October? I think he can be a very versatile guy that can do whatever the Brewers need him to do. I think in a perfect world, he factors in as a bullpen piece, but there's also this thing about running these guys out there way beyond their career highs in innings. Over the course of this next month. And so you want to be careful with Corbyn Burns and Brandon Woodruff. And when Freddie Peralta comes back, so if you have a chance to slot him in every once in a while into the rotation, let him start to. I think that will be a key thing to keep the other guys fresh. So I think you'll see him do both. I think if you're looking at it more from a big picture, What would the postseason look like? From Aaron Ashby? Definitely a bullpen piece and a really nasty one. He's starting to throw more strikes. He's been able now twice. Over his last three outings to navigate some trouble in an inning, which I think is a big thing for a young pitcher, and anybody that's watching him knows how good the stuff is. This is really nasty stuff. He's going to be a really special pitcher. He's the next guy out of this group. The Brewers have found a way to really develop pitching and international. Is that next one along with probably Ethan, Small brewers broadcaster Lane Grendel has always great stuff, Lane. Thank you. Appreciate it, guys.
