A Proposal To Burn Ethereum Transaction Fees
"So a proposal to ben a theory of transaction fees. This is coming from an e. Ip which i will link in the show notes feliciano e ip stands by theory improvements proposal. So now i'll do is. I'm going to read just the abstract on the summary from this thing. And then i'll give you my comments on it. So i actually came across this on git hub. This thing. was originally created in april two thousand and nineteen and has been in development since then and this is all according to harvard and give hope they've logged all of their calls developing development team and if the regulating the less meeting they had on this particular thing was The thet december twenty twenty. So this roy up to date in fact the less meeting that they had at the summary notes for the goal from the december he says generally feeling is that there was enough robust analysis and research with this improvement to begin discussing the next steps in the process i e how to move forward introducing too old cord avs and the theory of maintenance exciting. So that's how close they says to going onto the maintenance right. I think perfected over the of the last year or something booked with talking yet. So they're improvement. Proposal fifteen fifty nine fee market for one point out so. This is an improvement for the existing chain while ago gates shoes on so the simple summary is this is a transaction pricing mechanism. They includes a fixed pad block network feet that is bend and dynamically expands or contracts block sizes to deal with transient congestion. So what does that mean the problem. We have right now. They've got a difficult forming problems with the existing model. The fed will quote is a mismatch between volatility of transaction fee levels and the social cost transactions. The basically say that you one minute. You can have a Network free that's two hundred times what it was a minute ago right depending on just massive spikes in demand for network resources and stuff like that which seemed ridiculous. It's completely unpredictable. At second problem. Is it ends up. With needless delays for uses so does no good as socially unproductive as they call it. Where was the slack in the system to meet block by block demand while that would be met by so the listrik book sized that goes up if the blocks full and goes down if the blocks unfaithful pretty sweet scandal like the big oin difficulty. Adjustment mechanism is for blocksize. Rather than mining difficulty kind of kind of climate also says the problem is the inefficiencies of first price auctions. So what that means. Is that The minute of its to use sophisticated algorithms to estimate what fee to charge the uses of the wallet. And even though they're you know that just doesn't work. Right you end up overpaying the fee or you think you can get confirmation fifteen seconds and it takes three minutes and then you have to submit the transaction again with a high of face. Just it's just a mess right. And then the third thing is they will they call the instability of blue with no block reward. And they say well think about in the long run blockchain bitcoin. They intend to switch to rewarding minus entirely on transaction fees. You know when the bitcoin blocker would reaches next to nothing and they said will there were no issues with this kind of thing instability and so on selfish mining attack vectors and does no good solution for this at present. So what they're proposing to do is twofold one is have. This elects the block size thing where grows books of fold and shrinks of block saw you know novel and then also introduced a different pricing mechanism for transaction fees which would be that would be to to transaction fee going forward one would be this fixed a transaction fee pueblo. Which again go up and down with the blocksize. So you pay that and that base based transaction fee pet blog which would be absolutely known that would get burned right so like i spent boom johnson. Then if you wanna make sure that said your transaction gets into the blog than you can include an additional minor. Bribe as they call on top of the base fee said the minor didn't get any of the because we know that gets burned but they would get the minor bribe and the block reward so they still get two sources of revenue. The blocker would that remains the same They get the minor bribe and then they base fee gets burned. Okay well you might think well as because she's gonna cause the same problem as we've got now no it's not because was different now. Is that the book. Size is going to expand and contract so even if you don't include a minor bribe your wallet will know what the current fixed block transaction fee is and it will know what the next one is as well. So that means that in your wallet when meta mascow. Whatever will you're using. It will be able to quote you very precise transaction fees and the predictability of how soon that will go through and get confirmed. He's also much more set in than is now so that's does really right. You want the detail on how this works. Technically they've even got technical specification and a bunch of solidity code solidity code of how this will work including houses going to be backwards compatible. And how do you order. Transactions and blahdy blahdy. Bob so does that well. If you want my comments on this area. I think this should have been the design of a theory from day. One in fact. When i stood at dairy month old. This was high worked. A thought will gas right. if it's fuel surely is being burned and destroyed and took me quite a while to find out that that wasn't the case to find out the miners. Who gained all these fees on the blogger would which i four was bombing. The second thing is that if this does get implemented nobody does. It will be a massive economic boom for the theory token as an a theory in token hold. I'd be well pleased with this. Especially this would have a big effect on theory and stop the flow ratio. Which of course is top of my mind right. Now since i'm studying under safety and moose and his new book fiat standard. I'm a fan of the standard at any way. But you know that's what sir. I'm studying day to day right now. So i'm always thinking slow. Soaked floor ratio so this proposal would mean that the stock of a theory and will be constantly being reduced to offset some of the inflation for the mining rewards at the minute. He's just constantly inflating with booker woods. there's no destruction. there's no system level destruction anyway might accidentally send some their into the wrong address or whatever but the system doesn't doesn't create any deflation and this would do so on that point while we're talking about you but if i go to f gas station dot info it does have a leaderboard of the biggest guest banners right so actually lofton's articles the the They put on. The side is cold gas burners but as we know until this is implemented this proposal they don't banning gas at all alley just fees going through the contract to the minus with the number one. Let's call him guest bene- right now on the network is the union contract and in the last thirty days the amount of transaction fees going through that contract is twelve point. Seven million dollars worth of ethereal. Oh near enough to day. Two thousand f has been spent on transaction vs pretty significant amount if this proposal was implemented that would mean that in the last days unique swap would be responsible for destroying the two thousand ethereal just brilliant bending they two thousand theorem just from the fees that uses paint to use union swamp great and then tether another twenty six thousand theory would be banned in the last days because of that. So if you wanna in theory times these they say two thousand if theory of the what would ban twenty six thousand. That ted would ban if you want in. Us dollar terms it means units will be bending fifteen million dollars of theorem everyday days and tether will be betting ten million everyday days. I think those would go though. Remember is the capacity of the network would increase with this elastic book size so every time a block is full the next book slightly bigger so absolutely balmy so when when when the network is congested well more transactions go through every book which means more theory and guest band so the busy of the network is the more fees get panda. The big of the fees is self fulfilling prophecy. So i'm of course i'm talking from an economic point of view. If you're in a theory of togo you'd you definitely want this to be implemented because it it. It makes a theory more scarce doesn't it because it's bending the stalk of a theory all the time
Avs ride 5-goal 1st period to 6-3 win over Stars in Game 5
"Yeah, the Avalanche trying to follow the Nuggets lead, so to speak and climb out of a 31 hole in their second round series with stars, they showed they might be able to do it with last night's thrilling 63 win. Colorado scored five goals in the first period, four of which came in just two minutes and 36 seconds. But the story the night may have actually been between the pipe for the ABS, where the team's third goalie Michael Hutchinson, made his first career playoff start, 30 year old Journeymen said it was a dream come true. That's what you work for. You know when your kid dies in dream of playing the back areas playing the Stanley Cup playoffs, so like for myself, I was excited and I was looking forward to the opportunity to get a chance to play under Bukovsky score two goals in the game, including the one in the first he was joined In that scoring barrage by Nathan MacKinnon, Mikko Rantanen, Zim Qadri and Pierre Edouard Belmar Puck drop in tomorrow's Game six and badminton set for six o'clock. "So. In game free. He saw the avs come out last week. They were just they were out to hurt people. I mean you saw gave Landis had what twenty? Seven hits on his own. This team was pushing Dallas around. We have the break or whatever. We're calling that now the boycott today or or whatever. And Dallas apparently takes that opportunity to get back into play to get to gather themselves they burst out of the gates in that first period to go up three nothing. But the avs fought back man I mean they tied this thing back up which is which is very respectable. But. It, just you get to this point where You'll allow too much right off the bat. We're Dallas sets the tone of the game and sometimes it's hard to make that comeback. So you have the grew Bauer goes down. Take. So, we're talking about friends Sousse and So people were like, Oh, no plug and play either way they're going to be they're going to be just fine. You know you'll be good here. He put him in net since our goes out and after game one. But he was actually pulled after the Fifth Dallas goal. He had twenty one saves in that game you bring in. Michael Hutchinson made his first playoff game presence his playoff debut. He stopped three shots. They had ten shots on on goal before. Before they put this thing before they got their other score later. So goalie questions, goalie concerns anytime you have your your starter gets hurt and I know if you have two great two goalies to exceptional goals. Yeah. On paper it seems like it's going to be an easy fix but certainly not the case. And we'll see if the APPS can get back at it. Today you guys. Guys think they can do this tonight it is do or die. For the Colorado Avalanche and it is a, it is a back to back situation. So we'll see man I'm excited to see what this group can do if they have that fight left in them and the second round. How about the role reversal here? If. The expectations changed so much if the avs lose tonight, they're out. Then you have the nuggets getting in win game seven. All the momentum. Between the two Pepsi Center teams goes over to the nuggets suddenly because it's like well, they're both both eventually in the second round Azer in the second round the nuggets if they can win game seven again, that's a big if it's to be a huge game. But it certainly feels like the momentum would be pushing toward the nuggets in survival mode even though they were the better see better seed picked to win this series. And, yet they could carry all that momentum in. And the future looks bright again for the nuggets. This is also why I've had that issue with Mike, Malone though with the game seeding process I don't feel like it was taken seriously. and. That's why you see. You've seen this team struggle they are clicking now the last two games that looks a lot more like nuggets basketball last night's game that looks a lot more like what we saw at the end of two thousand and nineteen, the beginning of two thousand twenty. So if they can do that. Again, the guy's playing their role may simply playing his defensive role and rebounding role. Loved the fact they didn't switch that much at the top of the key. But see that was big. That was an adjustment. Can the avs make that adjustment Tonight. You gotta come out fire and because Dallas did I mean they came out on fire? So it is do or die time for the Colorado Avalanche thirty one minutes after the hour. Let's talk about the Colorado rockies coming up tough spot for them. They're they're five hundred though and I think as of right now, they still have a playoff spot and it's the push. This is the last day of August and then they have. September. It's time for Big Push Marquez. Go to the Mount Tonight for the rocks we'll get. We'll have the game for you here on thirteen ten KFI. They'll see if they can fight on here and even this year in this series and a tie. And then. They have some tough games coming up. So we'll talk about the rockies coming up next. Don't go anywhere thirty one minutes after the hour. Let's get the latest on the local sports flash mornings with Kale weekdays six to nine and northern Colorado's voice. Thirteen ten KFI. Hi, I'm Darren, done direct about that at the University of Northern Colorado and you're listening to the whole show thirteen ten K S K. Thirty six minutes after the hour. So I'm very curious I've been saying this for three years mark that Jamal Murray will be a top point guard in this league and I'm feeling good about it but I'm very skeptical still needs consistency. I I'm. So I think he's GonNa Point Guard I think he's a great to guard I don't think he's a ball distributor Monkey Morris the distributor..
"avs" Discussed on Starcastic Remarks-The Only Dallas Stars Fan-Led Podcast
"And welcome back to sarcastic remarks the only Dallas Stars fan land podcast. I'm Ryan here with Chris howdy and what a game? I still feel really ticked off after that. This was the this is the least stressful Stars game in a while for me actually cuz even though it ended with only a one-goal with only one goalie. We kind of had two goals for most of the game at least so that was good well around well actually the at end of the first. I think I was really ticked off from then on until the game and we'll get we'll get into that here in a second. But what we want to talk about a couple of things one really sad note and one really happy note. I guess we'll start with the sad news Mister Chadwick Boseman passed away a couple of days ago or was it yesterday? It might have been yesterday. He passed away from cancer and he was only listen, right? Yeah, I guess a couple of days off. So a couple of days from you guys here this he was only forty-three and to lose someone like that, especially with the big name and the people that he represents. Ended especially for the black community. It's a really sad loss for the black community. And also just for the world in general. Yeah, he he played really big roles and off a couple of my favorite movies, obviously the Marvel stuff. I love Marvel and he also was Jackie Robinson in the movie 42, which was one of my favorite baseball movies. So pretty sad well and we just want to help if they ever listen to us, which I don't think they would but we just want to let them know that we're sitting here praying for him right now and with all they've had to go through and you know, honestly we saw nothing no hint that he even had cancer. The only kind of hints that we might have had if we if people were really looking for it was looking at the pictures on Twitter. So he was getting absolutely roasted on Twitter cuz he he very rarely posted especially recently over the past month or two and he was getting charged for how skinny he was looking. And that just goes to show you don't never know what's going on with somebody. Yeah, and like I can't imagine like imagine being one of those trolls now and you're thinking like oh crap. I can't believe said that about on Twitter. Yeah, and you know just prayers out to him and prayers out to his family. Nice to people always write it just gotta be kind guys seriously that home and we're really going to miss him and well, we'll just leave it at that and pray. All right family back to that. Happy note now back to the happy now. This is a cool thing. El Paso Texas wine Kraft hockeyville USA. Yes. Cool is that I'm getting chills on my screen right now. So freaking cool is that it's super awesome seeing how much the sport has grown just like in the past couple of years in Texas cuz like the Winter Classic huge blowup of everything. I've never seen so many stars fans in one place. I didn't think that many hardcore fans existed wage..

"And again I've said this all year their depth is what's going to win them a title. I love their stars I love jokers, Star I love Murray as a star consistent when he's consistent but. It's the depth. You know when when they have their best out, that's when the nuggets have to shine. So I. I love. Monty Morris but I also love him coming off the bench. I love him being a second unit because it raises all boats I do believe Morris is not going to be long for the Denver Nuggets 'cause he's starting point. Guard. And Murray's not giving that up and. If he does anything like he did yesterday and continues to the series and the rest of the playoffs and Yeah Murray's. Marie is a true superstar. Is this going to be the year of playoffs that we see Murray walkaway championship or not where we were? We finally agree that Jamal Murray is a superstar in this league. If he does something like that. Yeah. I. Mean like you said, if he performs like that these next three games, the nuggets will. They'll sweep should be an issue. Yeah. You would think but they have to have better defense. First. Was a pretty sharp as far as defense defense. I think they'll had fifty two points in the first half, which isn't the best in the world, but it's not bad. And then the second half they gave up thirty one in the third quarter and thirty two in the fourth they clamp down on the overtime though. Ten points. So. It's a mindset you have to be dedicated to. Okay. So we're GONNA take a break here. And, do we have to take a break I don't know or do we just go so a couple of minutes and then it'll be it just a few more minutes. Yeah. Okay what do you WanNa? Talk about? Well. We hit the rockies and Freeland a little bit. ABS- ABS- bounce. Seven to one or something final score but they were they were lighting it up. Me Talk about a bounce back. I mean they they were not happy with the way that last game went down there they play tomorrow as well. So we continue to have. A, lot of great things happening here, and if the rockies can just get back together here, I mean, they couldn't find their bats yesterday. Yeah they win seven to one. We knew we knew it was going to be a tough a tough sledding for the coyotes in this one I just I mean I would have bet some money on that one. Colefax because we knew that was going to happen. The great team and that's the thing with hockey and that's why upsets aren't always the are always that upsetting right because you could play a great game but if you're goalie gets hot. Things change but to. Kemper had some issues didn't he? I mean the avs outplayed. Arizona. The last game. But Gola got hot can't get it through there. And they played them again yesterday and. They were they were in a tough spot. Certainly were. So yeah, the APPs do they do they take this? They move on tomorrow. Do they get this thing tomorrow I think so they wrap it up and they're going to win the series four to one. I wouldn't I can't imagine I think this is what happens and series sweeps are pretty rare even though I'm predicting the nuggets to sweep the jazz, they're very rare. So even bad teams are going to find a way to steal one. But I think in this, oh? Yes. That's the purpose of a series, right? Because that does happen. That's why I love in H. L. NBA playoffs because you always weeds out the best in the world I mean because if you go like, that's what troubled me with football sometimes with the NFL and again, they can't change it. This is the way it is, but it's one game in the plastic. It's one super bowl. You know it's one game, and if you know if you just don't bring it if you just don't have it and the other team does they win. I love a series in baseball too. But especially hockey basketball those two sports you're going to find out who the best is bad teams even they're all pros they're all even the worst team in the NHL worst him in the NBA. Still, GonNa find a way to upset even the best members when the nuggets were still pretty bad like four years ago five years ago. The kept beating Golden State Golden State like only lost. So many games that year Denver beat them twice. So why is that? That would have they would never even stood a chance in the playoffs, but they find a way. So yeah, Arizona found a way to get one on Sunday or Saturday. Now happening again avs move on they'll move on to the second round I. believe still str very strongly that the nuggets will move past the jazz even if they don't sweep them, I think the the nuggets are Advanced to the second round of the playoffs and how about that? Let's talk about how significant that will be. Colfax George Karl was essentially fired because he couldn't get his team of the first round. If Malone does it again his first two years of going to the playoffs and the nuggets they're out of the first round both years and I think he Doesn't have a problem with that. Yeah, and that crazy. So, in a roundabout way, you finally got what you want you fire George Karl beside you. Jerry. Takes the Toronto job. You can't get out of the first round Mike Malone is three away from doing it back to back. All right. So that's going to do it for us. We'll be back for a full show on Wednesday and we'll get back to a real top text, Tuesday. Next week, and we'll see where we are on that Philip Lindsey signed Jersey. All right. Coca Cola gives up on social media advertising entirely
"We've actually got some breaking news here. Coca Cola pausing advertising on all social media, the companies saying there's no place for racism on social media so coca-cola, just the latest company in addition to her. She's in addition to Unilever earlier today, announcing that they are going to halt advertising on social media, and of course, this is a direct team at facebook which has been under pressure because of this flow of advertisers deciding to support this boycott Tim. extraordinary. Wow, the follow through here again. Give credit to the early stage advertisers, but when I hear this. I think I know it's very difficult. TIME FOR AD dollars. Every media company is assessing that and going through potentially painful time, although if you listen to facebook and their numbers. That was the extraordinary thing you really hadn't seen in effect, but there are other options. There are other media companies that are hearing this news. FACEBOOK's loss is their gain and again singling out social media as being a wild maybe. You know untethered environment of uncertainty in terms of the messaging. Advertisers want to control the messaging and the context in which their ads are placed they may be able to do that and other places. I'm not well-versed in the crisis management companies here in the US who knees, but I would suggest that facebook higher one this weekend, and that's not in a vacuum. We talked about this earlier in the week and we said. Those companies on Tuesday with I won't be the last, Coca Cola. That is a huge huge deal. and. The fact that he mentioned proctor and gamble earlier I mean it's no Bueno. Is they say I mean you gotTa? You gotTA. Think that there are a fortune five hundred companies, S. and P., five hundred companies this weekend that are going to be meeting and reevaluating their avs, ben whether or not they're spending on social media, and on Monday. We started the show with when the LEVEE BREAKS PK. I don't know about what Monday brains. All Over the LEVEE. At this point, it's broken. I mean you. You know companies like Coca, Cola and Hershey this. Is it you you as a corporate board member as a CEO cannot? CanNot continue on. You have to go along binds be of what Apple closed their stores for cove. Everybody followed behind I think Monday morning you're going to see a lot more people pull out of this advertising on social media facebook in particular

"Has a harder trip to the to win a championship in this strange ear in this back to play plan? The avs, the nuggets or the Rockies I think we can take the avs out of this because the avalanche are a favorite, and it's the NHL where. The top few teams have a really good shot to win this thing. The nuggets have the Lakers, and the clippers standing in front of them, and then if even get past them, they have to figure out Milwaukee, so but then again the rockies. The rockies have themselves to contend with I. can they look like first off? You have the avalanche who I think are the prime contenders between the three. They. Short season or not or is restructured season or not. The avs were a favourite to win the cup. At least depending on which outlet you went to many national outside the avs is a favorite. They're a great team. The nuggets are great team, but they have to greater teams. At least at the time we canceled the series. We suspended the season the Lakers and the clippers I think have the edge at least on paper. And according to the wise guys. According to Vegas. So you had that nuggets great team, two teams may be greater than them. The rockies are not a great team. They're not a good team at least based on last year and you are. As, good as your as your record, your good as your last game. Here's good as your last season. Plus you have the dodgers. I mean from any other. Trust me. There's a lot of other reasons here if you WANNA, talk about who has the hardest road. The rockies do because they're not as good. the nuggets have the competition is probably greater because again. The dodgers are favorite to win the world series. But you have several teams in front of you. That are. That are just great teams. The Lakers are a great team. The clippers are a great team. The bucks are a great team, so you have three teams that are really really significantly better at this stage. The rockies though. I mean I. don't even know if their playoff team, although yes. I do I tweeted last night. Colfax Sixty Games are not. The rockies playoff team this year. I do think that I thought the rockies would be better anyway this year. I I think last year was just the perfect storm. A lot of things were going on Wade. Davis really struggled. Kyle Freeland had a year? We did not expect. It was. It was just kind of A. Bad Year a bad year for everybody and I I didn't think that they'd have that again. I can't believe that you go to the playoffs two years in a row. They had some big changes though DJ Lemay who had a motivational I mean those were those proved to be much bigger than we even thought. Are the whole say. Forty seven percent of the whole agains are saying the nuggets have a harder road head. Have a more difficult path to a title in the back to play season. Now. Do the rockies get less votes on that? Because it sixty games and it's more of a hey shorter season. Maybe their team that's built for sixty games. Maybe the rockies are built for sixty games. And then they can carry that onto the playoffs for good position. The dodgers and the Yankees are still the favorites split. But does that does that hurt the favorites? You have to think so when we say if it's a bad weather situation in football, you have a great team versus a bad team, but it's bad weather well. That actually hurts the better team because we always say whether it's kind of a great equaliser, so at least gives the bad team a better shot. 'cause they're all playing on. Sloppy, sloppy, sloppy field, dealing with win the elements whatever they're all. They're all dealing with it. They're not superhuman. Maybe this sixty game season in baseball. Some kind of an equalizer in the rockies will have a better shot. Nukes says what makes the Lakers and the clippers great teams. They haven't won anything well. Two guys on each of those teams have. Kawhi Leonard won a championship last year. Lebron James has won three. So yes, you have to champions on. That team is one to. One one with the Spurs one with the Raptors. So. Yeah, you have significantly at least based on their numbers and their history Lebron, James and Leonard. Are, better. Than Nicole eeo Kitchen Jamal Murray? Far Fetched to say but what makes the Lakers or clippers great teams? They haven't done anything they haven't won anything. You have great players on that team on those teams and at the time of the. Postponement for the NBA. You had a Lakers team. That was what five games better. Than the very next. So I mean the Lakers were forty nine fourteen. The Clippers were forty four and twenty, which again the clippers. You could argue there right there with the nuggets. I'd like to see that matchup, but the Lakers were pulling away. They were eight and two in their last ten. The nuggets were five and five. There were five hundred team as we know. The Lakers coming into form they were they only lost fourteen games. So what makes them Great Lebron? James makes them great. You put Lebron James on any team. Save for again last year. Terrible year for the Lakers. And then he's hurt halfway through, and then they shut him down. But listen when they brought Lebron into town before last year started, they knew the plan. Hey, this is going to be A. Little bit crumple year. We're GONNA WE'RE GONNA probably suck so Lebron when we realized we're out of this thing you set your out..

No Oh yeah we'll get we'll get to that but first a little Trivia Day Joseph just two point two Ryan and don't know don't always say where his matinee from Long Beach we know that Ryan I just we were explaining to Ryan the thing is NATO is long every time when Matignon used to play for the sharks Dowa hour say long beaches Matt Neo Nazis on every single native Jay. And I'm like okay. We get it gets from Long Beach. We went back later and yet I found while you were used but we found tweets from what I say. Two thousand eleven. I didn't realize going back that far. But yeah. Twitter goes back to two thousand bench references to matinee being along. Oh yeah like. When he first came up it was always long beaten in Long Beach Native Man. Yeah Yeah I may just called this episode Manas Long Beach. Sounds good but look. Let's talk about the shutout because I know because it wasn't a shutter it was but let's talk about the game that you say as Shana percents. Are you understanding this at all or no? We've been through this. I know but let's explain it for Ryan and for anybody joining US occasional. Good luck here. I arbitrarily decide to fault effort. Where a goal in fact allowed one goal. What didn't really count. And it should be considered shutout just very emotional purposes. Didn't really count in. What aspect right it went in the net Ryan was the one who did cross the goal line. The shot was taken it. Hit the ice on a wobbly wonky angle okay. And that's the reason you remember the the shot that Jon. Quick didn't stop but bounced behind him. It was going in the net but the puck angle and hit the ice bounce the opposite direction and didn't go on the net. Yeah this was the makeup Karma for that non goal. Okay the pocket. The Ice Jonathan Quick was in position. It wasn't a dangerous shot. It wasn't a great scoring opportunity. Yeah the PUCK. Just hit the ice at a weird angle took weird bounce. It didn't bounce off a leg and bounce off his stick. It didn't bounce off a player. Who's in the right position to make? It was just a weird ferry fart of a of a twist on the puck and yeah shut up so you say it's only a shutout the goalie if the goalie does everything they're supposed to do but happenstance goal happens does count. We're not sure what this is an art. If let's call it a guessing game it was like eight to nothing in the third period and the team scores one with thirty seconds left in the game and just shut up. Shut out even if it was asleep. Yeah I mean I don't know what would it won't beaches matinee idol. Went down to go but in this case looked at Colorado Colorado hit the post he said it was Karma for the Gospel. Look to separate column any look. The point is the kings are awesome. They've won six in a row playoff. Chan. They're winning the company here playoff team. I mean listening agrees. Okay now let me say this though. If it'd be okay if Ilya Kovalchuk Woods were still here. Would they be this good? No okay struck it. You Change your mind. I know you said Ilya had to go for them to to be better. I said I thought it was entirely possible that his departure was responsible for the winning streak that happened in November and December. I don't have any explanation for what happened in January and February trade deadline. I mean that sure. I'll roll with that look. This game was fun. Adrian campus fun to goals. The Dingo in Mike Anderson is fun. Yeah what a what a career first goal. Yeah Yeah and I got to call it. And Gabriel Vladi won the face off. So I didn't see also says hey. Go fellas hear some stats? Thank you By the way the rain beat the Colorado avalanche tonight. That was pretty impressive. Other rain beat whoever Colorado's a minor league team is 'cause 'cause check. You can't read you see we do know I just memorized stats already. Oh I see who does that. Saint Louis and no color Colorado had a lot of guys out of the line. I don't want to focus the killing goes down in the second mccarter. Mccaren play Ranson's out of the puzzle friends so squadrons hours friends at Kadri no matter They had a lot of guys. Oh Yeah Oh excuses. Excuses they ninety points. Look I just. It has to be mentioned. Now we can ignore it and talk about how great now with you now. We just act like a Anderson. I go right. Doughty had another big hit. A huge threes are always a big hit crush clicky. Oh you're right. It did broke stick did really took CLIFFE's house snap last game. Doubt he had a good hit. Two million people out drew doughty stays good. He might win the Norris this year. I mean maybe Matt Roy Might Plus Fifteen. Oh my goodness Ryan yes you haven't been to a kings game recently. Not why not you know Scott. He's got a he's an actor. Sorry he's an actor comedian. Yeah I didn't know that two more games I will. They're exciting. I used to come with this guy when we were also team and then you know then he graduate. I hadn't seen as much but now now we're back we've got the podcast right familiar to you No because I think cafe was kind of like leading a lot more and like sort of leading a play a little bit I don't know if you guys noticed that But like every time I used to watch them and kind of seemed like he was like another guy but now he was really like making things happen in my opinion then he switched to wing not spend a couple of months. Yeah well for awhile. Got Rid of couple Jack member but you are right to notice it. He's second totally different player. It's insane these grading. It's impressive. I mean took the puck out of a few defense hands on my avalanche earlier in the game and I mean to his credit almost buried one and then almost had an empty netter as well from an online looks pretty good that can pay lozad and low and loo which Jack was wondering why Lewis was on the L. Yes somebody tweeted me and said or DMV on Instagram said should be called to kill line. Kill Line and I know that's good. Let's give them five games. Yeah did you want this jacker? No I got hold it if you you can hold it okay. If you need it you just I will. Okay thank friends. I thought they were GONNA hook up on another goal but cam decided to try and wire it himself in the first period no secondary he knew we were GONNA win. It didn't matter fair enough. Here's what I got say though. Yeah honestly it king said what thirty seven shots tonight? Something like that right on down in front of me. You know you thirty-five perfect They could add forty five shots like ceremony. Times a Mad. You had the puck in the dust it off and tries to make perfect penalty. Shoot I feel copay tired. I was just going to say copay right. We say it every time every time he has a puck shoot. He's got a great shot. He's got a candidate. Just like fifty shots on goal tonight. Yeah but they try to dust it off too much and I don't know what it is. I am a obviously you have to test to you know the players again you know complying with the game plan But they've created a lot more opportunities than they control the puck in the last week or too much more than they used to in the beginning of the season. How about this? It's actually kind of exciting. It is it is my Ross. We saw seven goals for the Los Angeles Kings on Saturday. Ten in the last two games. That's that's that was like ten games worthy goals but was it. Oh Yeah I mean they control the puck. Colorado hit the posts but we had a ton of opportunity. Cafe whiffed Open Wide Open. I mean and then he hit the post when he finally connected on velocity. Couldn't bury it. Whoever took the shot from the point of Hilarity by the way? That's right now. The point for work off a face off the shelf quick. Okay if you say so what I gotta deal fifty two crew shots or does he. Well according to Jesse is probably more than that. You guys don't understand. We don't very few penalties called three in the whole game. And let's just be honest. That penalty shot was a garbage call. Horrible call He was at the face off. Service called it was it. Yeah Yeah Okay and this is not like at the top of my list of things that I worry about at three o'clock in the morning. But what's the first thing you worry about? Three o'clock getting rid of shoot-outs. Now that's not usually. It's the cricket crawling by Wall What about the duct tape on your door in the morning? It's a whole other issue other issue. Somebody duct taped my door shut. Why was the cliffs notes for? How wait you're in the room? And they know the how on the outside of my house. There's a front door in a door on the kitchen. That leads to the side of the house where this podcast anyways shut. Don't worry about it Hear them pulling the duct tape open. I noticed that at two o'clock in the morning I didn't sleep on the opposite side of the House. Anyway the point is if that even if that had been a penalty shot why not also the penalty. Yeah I've thought about that. But isn't the point of a power play to give someone an advantage to score? Yeah swine just give them the advantage to score twice. Well Okay but in basketball you you get your free throws technical and the ball. Wait wait wait wait wait wait wait. Now you're telling me they should get the penalty shot and if they don't score on the penalty shot. They should get the penalty saying they should get a penalty anyway. Why the penalty it was either. It was either a penalty. And he's going to the box or it's a penalty shot because we both double jeopardy honestly honestly house. A great movie will actually disagree for once in my life. I almost agree with you. thank you because think about it. Why because a penalty is take away a scoring chance but then a penalty shot means. You literally took away a breakaway. Yeah so now. You have another breakaway. Yeah Yeah but why not give them both because it's more significant than irregular penalty? So I guess hockey over the past one hundred plus years has just been. They've gotten it wrong now. You've now you're oh okay you guys you guys are. The sister handed out wrong right. Got It shutouts. Apparently are us. Yeah Yeah are you. Are you in the boat that if you score in penalty like in the first five seconds of the power play? They should get the rest. Glad you asked right. No here we go. Oh boy I think. Minor penalty should be split into two categories. Sorry I think two minute to minute. Penalties categories minor and major if it is a delay of game delay of game or non injury related penalty. It's a two minute minor. Non Injury related pocket. Every penalty called ninety eight percents as a faith based on on injections delay of game. Too many men puck over the glass. There's a handful of them right. That tripping that would be the major homey how you get injured tripping someone guy trips and smashes his face into the OH. Yeah that's happened. Johnny Butch non-physical penalties. Let's put it that way. Non Assault penalties where. You're not up for the twenty. You can't deny that there's two different kinds of what I'm saying is oh but I but why don't you hear the end of my idea before you call me in.
Hellboy talk with Tim
"Did you. I read hell boy win did I I. I've I read hell boy when I was. I really getting into non Superhero comics when I was in the military and it was around the first time. I want to say it was around the time. The first Guillermo del Toro movie came out. Two Thousand Four. I believe Man I'm old and it's very interesting too because hell boy. I came out in nineteen ninety four. Yes and so thinking thinking of. It's ten years and that was an accomplishment And now here we are twenty twenty two having a relevant conversation about L. Boy. That's back issues to get in. Because he's ninety two thousand four win. The movie came out. They had They had reprinted all of the trades in the traditional red format that you've seen on elbow trades red banner. Banner across the boy. Yeah and there was a bunch of stickers like hell boy now in theaters or something like that but I picked up the first volume of that and I was like well. I'll check it out and it didn't resonate with me at all. I didn't like it. I didn't like the art I didn't and at the time to I was at a point where I was defining like. I'm not going to go off on a tangent about belief systems or whatever but I was I was kind of going on On my own kind of personal spiritual journey and I didn't like the idea of taking a demon and putting it in a spotlight and I had a real issue with a boy from and it just kind of bothered me and also I was a child in able to discern. I I was I was an adult. You know what I mean I I was. I was still trying to define what my moral compass is in relationship to the entertainment that I took in And just at the time hell boy was not right for me just to clarify you saw the movie. And then he picked up the comic books. Okay Yep actually I think I think I bought the comic in anticipation of the movie but it was because the movie was coming out that I was GONNA go see us out so you weren't really impressed that much. I didn't land with me. It wasn't at the time I was into more of a more of a clean style And Mike Manila's art is is arguably anything but like clean lines in that was just just my preference at the time like I was really into the Geoff. Johns Teen Titans Which had a much much more traditional line work and again. This was at a time where I'm venturing out of superheroes for the first time And it was it was kind of interesting so hell boy has been a thing that I was aware of but I'd always associated the comics as being not nearly as good as the movies It doesn't help that Gamble del. Toro's one of my favorite directors of all time but let's fast forward a little bit. I picked up. B P R D play frogs and that is basically like a four volume omnibus said like it was the the hell boy at one point breaks off from the B. Prd that'd be prd becomes. Its own thing and be. Prd's interrupt his bureau for Paranormal Research. And Defense yes those for those of you. That may not know. Now I'll get into it but I read. Bp plague of frogs volume one. Because it didn't have specifically I was like well. I didn't wasn't interested in hell boy but I was kind of interested in in the fish guy kind of interested in Liz. Who's the fire starter? And I was kind of intrigued. What does that mean when Hell Boys not around? What is that book? And that I fell in love with Hell Boy. The hell boy world through eprdf bpd was written for me And there was a time right towards the tail end of plague of frogs where I hadn't read any hell boy comics but not hell boy specifically but I but I I've been eating up. Bp already so much At that point to the hell boy trades and this is still true to an extent are in and out of print so sporadically that. It's difficult to get everything so. Bp or something. I was pretty familiar with going into last year. Twenty nine hundred twenty eighteen man. I'm so old time. Time is all time impressive so when the new movie came out eighteen nineteen asa last year's leading into last year so the tail and a twenty eighteen darkhorse started releasing the hell boy omnibus editions. And what those are four soft cover books that encompass hell boy from his first issue in the seat of destruction all the way through the The hell boy in hell macro series and then they also released a couple short story collections. And a few other things here and there and they also released Be Prd the devil you know which kinetically ends the story that began in Nineteen Ninety Four. So it was. It was a very big year for hell boy in two thousand nineteen and it was the first time that for fan like me. I was able to actually sit down and read it. And and with the context of of being a discerning adult you know in my in my mid to late thirties versus versus. You know more or less. An intellectual young adult in my early to mid twenties approaching the material was completely different. Avs Very very very very interesting I still maintain for me personally be. Prd is the superior book but in IT IS THE HELL. Boy Universe in Hell. Boy is the crux of it And so I do. Identify myself as a hell boy fan. Do you went from two thousand four. But basically didn't get into hell boy until twenty eighteen. Oh Boy Himself the proper what about be. Prd Though captured your attention that maybe the hell boy that you picked up into two thousand four. That didn't so I've thought about this a lot and my elevator pitch for the B. PRD is For people who come into the store and are like Oh why should why should I read this book? B P R d from me is the X. Files if they were investigated by monsters. It's really fun. It's just bizarre cases. And instead of having mouldering scully who were you know very human characters? One's one's a rational skeptic and the other isn't in this instead this time we have. There's a wear Jaguar. There's a fish guy. There's a fire starter. There's a humongous Monkey lous excuse me As well as a few a few other regular like every day soldiers thrown into the mix as well and it's very relatable versus for me. Hell boy that the thing that the thing that separates me from hell boy is. I'm not a demon from hell regardless of what my mother will tell you and I wasn't around for World War Two didn't fight Nazis. I didn't I didn't have like I don't have that worldview but what I do have is a knowledge for me specifically. I know this isn't going to be true for everybody but I. I know what it's like to live on a military base. I know what it's like to have that structure. There was a point of view. I had from that and the inner struggles like how everybody in the unit relies on each other. But also sometimes you just can't stand each other and also there's work to do not to mention the the drama in the book is fantastic. Unlike most comics like you go pick up a marvel comic right if you go in and pick up the newest issue of Captain America. Captain America is that time kind of flows so every time you read Captain America. He was thought out. I want to say about ten to fifteen years ago. Regardless O- doesn't matter if you read if you read captain America in the sixties. He was thought out. You know he was thought out in the sixties there but because it was you know. He was in the ice for twenty years but as the decades go on instead of being in the ice for twenty years using the answer. Thirty Years Forty Years Fifty Years. Whatever and we don't directly talk about how. Captain America was thought out in the sixties. Because he wasn't anymore and boy and you know when I say in hell boy the Hello Universe to include. Cpr D to include Crimson Lotus. All that stuff dates are sat and they're generally set the year that the book comes out so seed of destruction number one came out. It was nineteen ninety four and so that event actually introduced us to the concept of these frog monsters and it was supposed to be just a one time thing in the year two thousand. I WANNA say two thousand two thousand one the first issue of be. Prd came out and so from there. That's that's what started. What's now called the plague of frogs storyline and that brought back the frog people who were introduced in Nineteen ninety-four in Nineteen ninety-four. We have hell boy Liz. And Abe in two thousand those characters of aged and so we go into twenty twenty. Now I guess if we look at twenty nine thousand nine I believe was the tail end of the devil you know from. Eprdf was wrapping up everything. But Liz in that is a middle aged woman. She's not she's you know she's a bit more mature she's a bit older and the artwork represents that in the way she's experienced her life has has represented that as well and so one of the things that I think is really cool and I forgot where my point was but one of the things I like about the elbow universe. Is that the elevator. Pitch for the elevator stopped a long time ago. But it's there's a very real sense of time and there's a word I'm looking for. The stakes are real. There's there's a there's A. There's a very real sense. That time is a factor Life is precious and and things have to be accomplished or the world's going to

Is Peloton a Fitness Fad or a Tech Company?
"On this show. We clearly talk a lot about tech companies. There's some some obvious ones apple Microsoft alway and then they're all the startups that have changed our lives in recent years. Like the ridesharing APPS UBER and lift or food delivery companies like post mates and seamless and sometimes we take a step back and think wait. Is that Really Tech Company. We were talking about that with columnist. John on stole the other day and our episode about the luggage company away. And it's something. He's been thinking about lately especially connected to the fitness industry specifically the stationary bike company. Pelton so John's back to continue the conversation with us today. Hey John thanks for joining us. The driven me. I'm not on my Peleton. I just got off. So let's go. Let's go well. We could have been on the phone with you on your pilot and that would have made it so much more exciting but you would it. It would've been very embarrassing. I I'm I'm a low performer. On the Peleton leaderboard okay. So let's back up a little bit. POYTON has been in a battle L. with some of its competitors it sued both flywheel sports and echelon fitness in the last couple of years. What's at stake here? What exactly are they fighting over there? Fighting over depending on which company we're talking about that they're fighting they're fighting over technology patents intellectual property that both sides accused each other her of borrowing stealing lifting copying off their neighbors sort of test scores. So this goes back several years to the beginning of a movement called connected fitness. Basically take a smart tablet like a touchscreen tablet you hook it to your stationary bike and you begin begin. Pipe lining in a live or archived session with a high level instructor. What makes it? Unique is the leader board that is available available with the instructor showing you all the people that are in the class. Not just in the class proper in the physical class all over the world and these numbers can balloon to hundreds the thousands of people and it doesn't matter when you're taking the class it's dynamic in a way that it makes you feel like you're taking the class in real time competing with all these people in real time even if it's a week or a month take the classes taking place. So what is what are they fighting over there fighting over the intellectual property in this idea of the leaderboard. Yeah I mean Peleton a saying we came up with this dynamic with they call time sink leaderboard if you think about watching an Olympic sport like swimming and you watch Michael Michael Phelps. You know trying to break another record. There will be an could be as if he's competing against the old record holder from nineteen eighty-four. Whomever that swimmer was that set the record before you would see Phelps trying to beat that in real time very similar technology that Peleton says it spent a lot of time and money and engineering talent Jalan trying to develop and so fly will if I and the national on second came out with bikes dead operated very similar to its technology did Move to protect those patents not immediately but after those products come onto the market so this is basically an intellectual property dispute in in the fitness world. How strange is that for? This industry are how how common is that. For this industry I think the intellectual property if we take it out of the tech Rome Just the idea that somebody has come up with. A nifty idea in fitness is very common for someone to want to protect that. Whether it's Typo or Zimba Numba or Richard Simmons techniques or the Hula Hoop. I mean there's been decades if not a century of trying to patent ideas that people may have been doing this for for decades or centuries that it's just somebody came up with a better name for it. Those are hard to actually prosecute because the defendants often say this is a very ambiguous idea. This idea of using this specific routine to crunch avs is not novel or unique. I can do it too in. Don't sue me and so they don't often hold up in a court of law. What's unique about Peleton's John's argument here is that they're going into the world of algorithms in data not like sit ups and push ups when you start talking about specific technology that power software anywhere? There is a much more rich and robust precedent of companies being able to protect that sort of Ip and get money have settlements or even cease and desist on the other end. Underline the thing. That's so interesting here. Is that politics is I mean. Obviously lots of fitness makers you named the number of devices making devices is for fitness is also not a new thing but they still call themselves fitness companies. The air really talking about themselves as Tech Company so I WANNA kind of get back to that first conversation that we were having about. What does it take to be attacked company? And why is it important that a ride sharing APP or Salads Delivery Service or luggage company is calling themselves attack company. Why is that so common now and why is it so important? I think I think there's a couple of things if you unpack that idea. So the technology enables better life and it may enable enables better usage so if I'm a typical stationary bike rider later. I'm going to be bored to death after an hour. It's not going to happen for me with my short attention span so I have to turn on television and listen to music and even that can get old and I'd be like I'm just GonNa go outside and go on regular your bike or do something else. So there's the boredom factor there's also the lack of community factor in fitness particularly Solar Solo Sports. That make them rather dull and so so when you can bring technology like Says it has into the equation that actually makes people addicted to the type of even if it pseudo community that exists all over the world at the same time competing against each other. Instructors do it through the Internet software data algorithms and have a living testament in real time to how well you're doing you begin to talk about having a solution that people would see as technology enabled and not just fashion you know belts and and nuts and bolts. Why that's important is it could be the thing that enables breakneck growth? Not just fitness industry type of growth but tech company. Any sort of growth. We're talking double digits. Year over year expansive massive growth at propels a company like to the billions of dollars of revenue range. That is very atypical for a single fitness company. The place where I work out lifetime fitness taken like quarter-century to get to a billion dollars in revenue Peleton's tons track has been a lot faster. So you've got that you've also got the ability to charge more and ask investors to value you hire when those metrics bricks are actually working out so subscriber growth has been very robust at collegehype. Meeting People Shell Out Thirty Bucks Forty Bucks a month for Peleton's subscription way more than spotify defy or Netflix or Amazon prime to have access to the content and the real real time competitions and putting go back to investors and say look. This group is what they recall sticky. They're going to keep coming back. It's a endless source of revenue for us. We're not just selling a bike. Were selling a service and that really is often what we think of when we talk about it enabled the technical solution and so then investors start to say well okay. The typical fitness company gets this kind of multiple but Peleton's worth eight and a half billion dollars because we see them as a tech company upholding. Narrative is really important. Yeah and I mean we've seen other companies kind of fall from grace very publicly. We talked what about we work. They're valued at one billion but they were supposedly worth forty seven billion until investors basically realized yet. There's not as much tack here as just like take a landlord. Is there a danger in that kind of Thinking that kind of valuation we're finding out the pitfalls and the benefits fits in real time so we were a great example going from the forties of billions of dollars evaluation. To eight billion. Almost overnight is dramatic and intense but a company like uber or or lift which have filed appeals in the last year or so have really struggled to get over the initial evaluation and you don't invest in a company just for it to remain stagnant. You might as well by a bond if you just want a fixed income. You know that doesn't deliver much growth. The IPO Uber was supposed to be the sort of thing that skyrocketed so yeah there's companies that position themselves as tech companies and then investors start to figure out or asking scratch their head. Is this company really company. I think Peleton's valuation is much more modest that said they have struggled to get over the initial IPO price and they've shown some weakness in the months since they filed nothing to to do with the tech but more to do with the brand and so a lot of people would argue Peleton's a great marketing and brand company. But when they make a mistake like putting on an ad that a lot of people see a sexist Texas you see the the share price gets hit pretty hard and maybe it shows that this company just has a really strong brand that means to protect in that technology. Now on the the other side of the foot you've got tesla which for years has been talking about being tech company and has been valued very often like a car company and all of a sudden as they start to prove out the main player in the electric vehicle technology sector. There were eighty ninety one hundred billion dollars while lead the other guys in the dust. What kind of impact can this? The expanded definition of Tech Company have on an industry. We we've just been talking about the fitness industry. We're seeing it. We've seen it play out in some others. What kind of what kind of impact does it have? Well I think you can get everybody rushing to prove that they're also a tech company. You look at some of the alleged copycats in Peleton's wake it's not just. The companies is that they're suing. It's Nordic track it's it's bowflex it's makers of rowers and elliptical machines. treadmills all in all trying to tell the consumer or now that they too are tech companies. They may not even be striving to go public but they they do have investors and they do have employees and they do have customers that I'll also need to believe believe. Hey I don't want to just by the run on the treadmill for a few hundred bucks if I'm in the market I'll spend more if I can get more and so a lot of the conventional players begin acting like tech companies binny's whether that succeeds or not is a sector-by-sector it's very hard for a Marriott. For instance to convince people that their AIRBNB and other company see that's about to go public and has convinced everybody because of the efficacy in the in the ease of use of its APP. Just took time out that NSF P six on five. What's tariff bender? Tell us law. I think more of the same because the avalanche should be getting catches. They've been getting point chances. Of course, you got discuss who face off what to win or I look for a high tip situation. Chore low out of the back to the blue line shot wove for the high tip three shots leagues. Fourteen third period shots, Colorado just two for San Jose hanging on Greek two and a face off jolts us right Pearl against Landis caucus time again hurt a lefty trying to win it on his forehand last time. He clearly land Scott will take it for the draw off it. It's outside the circle land, Scott around the boards. Ten seconds to play classic meets what cleary. Perfect cut off the glass and play. But again about taking away credit from the Colorado album. They force some situations. But also San Jose was jittery with the puck in the third. They get make any place. But then at the Jack you talked about all game. The one way San Jose was able to keep control this game winning faceoffs input face off and faceoffs. They went motion shots at the third fifteen to in favor of Colorado. But only one goal gets passed mart kilns, and the San Jose Sharks are now thirty nine and this year when they limit teams to goals or less, they do so tonight, and it extracts the stuff of victory in game seven and brings about game antiques where San Jose looking please and Colorado. Yeah. Okay. Okay. All right. Okay. No, I'm on your side day if you did sell it. I'll try to take the penalty Schott on Dave. Oh that would be good. I'll do that. Yeah. That would be better better better. Yeah. Totally falls. And yeah, I grew up in Detroit sitting there all the gear hoping that I don't actually lose control the skates. The care. Both of my grunts. Oh, boy, if you just tuned in this this story, really triggered a big response. So we'll keep going with the under sheriff who led the search for the Florida teenage girl whose actions prompted to shut down every school here up and down the front range says that the girl likely killed herself before the police even launched the massive manhunt for her she came here. Monday late Monday afternoon got a gun went right up to the mountains. And it sounds a he thinks she killed herself that night. Here's a three three. What happened to the report that a hiker saw woman running naked? Obviously that was a false statement anything. There hasn't been anything about that said that was Wednesday morning. They naked. Gerald is gonna join us in KOA his show. Hi. Monday morning quarterback back. Live in Denver. And I was in Denver Wednesday. And there were kids everywhere. I can't imagine that the kids wouldn't have been safer being locked down in schools. You know, you're not the first one I've heard say that that that they actually created a softer target kids because kids were out of school kids were playing kids where at the mall, which is softer target than schools. Yeah. I've heard that from several people, right? Flight shotgun, you'd have to hit somebody direct onto probably kill them might have done some damage, but if the kids were into school walk down, I think they would have been overall safer. You know, I think you're probably right Joe. Thank you. Out and about I was at David Easton to. Dave and Buster's kids were everywhere. There's a few ding ding going on there. Right. There's a lot of people there. Those bells and a lively atmosphere for sure Edward. Hi, you're on KOA. Guy. I talked to Friday. How could they have identified so quickly, and I really agree. Brilliant job of force for personal because she bid on a website at four twenty conspiracy agree with Jack with equal. Eighteen year old girl that identify. Who is it? At least. I it's. It's. Post to four twenty. To buy a shot. The law. Change that. So at least there's a two or three day period that I'm I'm a Republican and a second amendment guy. So. If they hadn't been able to sell her. Credible threat. Is it great? Were able to identify this threat. Protect our kids. All good questions. I think all valid questions. I personally would have no problem with a two or three day wait on getting a gun. Wouldn't bother me. And I'm a big. Right. Twenty four hours. What is what is the is there is there a different waiting period for a handgun as opposed to a in this case shotgun, Colorado? I think it's the same the same. You still have to, you know, do the background check. I believe that takes typically an hour or so, correct. Depending on how busy they are. But yeah, it's usually an hour. They can get it done. I'm pretty sure when I bought my shotgun. They do a background check on it. And took about an hour. A handgun for. Sure. Debra. Hi. So here's my side. Is that this was probably not nothing because I mean. I mean, I travel a lot and I traveled by myself, and I've never read flank anybody. So something had to it was something that triggered somebody looking at this girl. And do we know what that is if they're saying, oh, there were no threats or whatever I mean in her taking a peek at Columbine site or a peak it, you know, how to shoot a shock, whatever. That's not enough. A pattern of some kind or just an activity somewhere that it's for somebody. She was. According to a friend of hers. They're they're saying she had a weird obsession with Columbine. But the friend said doesn't mean she was going to do anything about it that that said that the the guys involved in the Columbine attack where someone she could relate to as a troubled teenager. She contemplated suicide she was deeply troubled lonely sad. And so she looked at those guys like she could relate to them. But but nobody's been able to find any anywhere where she threatened to do anything. Because described a lot of teenagers, right? Right. So what I what? Is what did she do through a right at once? She really, you know, maybe admire these guys whatever that's a huge leap between admiring somebody. And being a threat. I think you're right. Deborah, thanks for the call. I think Rick and Kathy in this particular case law enforcement would do itself a huge service by coming out and giving the people us, I mean, at least a few of the things that they acted on. So that we could better understand like, okay. Wow. So we didn't know that that that that that makes much more sense to me. What would the why would that not be possible? I don't understand why if they have it. Why couldn't they tell us? What it is. I totally agree. Dave now, you got all these conspiracy theories out there and everybody is. So when this happens next time. People are gonna remember the last time that didn't go anywhere. They shut all the schools down for kind of a false alarm, basically. So yeah, that's that's a great question. Five forty seven John Morsi with traffic..

That or dance like no one is watching like three different fonts on it in different sizes. But bless this mess is a big bless this mess side, but encountering it here at this point in the book after we've seen all this traveling. It does feel really like people have been traveling around the world, and they are mostly telling stories about like, hey, I met this cool dude who treated me well here, which is interesting. So then I guess the next thing that happens is he gets a bath from your Clara the older. In the Avs. So Penelope is like, hey, you told me a good enough story that you can stay here all night his lies were like the truth. And she listened she began to weep. Her face was melting the snow that zephyr scatters across the mountain peaks than your thoughts. It has it melts. The river swell and flow again. So were her lovely cheeks dissolve with tears she wept for her own husband who is right next to her. So. Yeah, Odysseus is says, oh, don't go to any trouble. But if you have like an old like bad servant who you aren't using anything else. You can wash my feet. Yes. And Penelope's like, I know just the I know just the day. And so here comes your Klay the old serving woman who you may. Or does Wilson you slave for these? But you may remember her from really early in the book where she helps to limit guests. Yeah. Yeah. Leave without Penelope notice. So she goes to wash his feet, and then we get this whole story about a deceased going out as a kid like boar hunting with his cousins. I think so. Yes, his family, right? As she starts to bathe him. He's like, oh, man. She's gonna feel my scar. Like, he I think the Wilson says he has a premonition of her learning his identity, and it is he it's his mom's dad comes to visit him when he's born. Like, it was like, hey, I'm going to have a bunch of treasure at my house when he's old enough to come get. Call him a deceased, and so he goes to his Grandpa's house with his cousins and everything and they go hunting, and yeah, he gets like wailed on by a boar before he can kill it. Right. But so he has he has this long scar on his leg, and your clay feels it as like, oh, you're Odysseus. Hey, bud. Welcome back and a deceased sets like grabs her by the throat with both hands with both hands. And he says her be silent. No, one was no or else. Nanny by the throat. Daddy. Trying to destroy me. Vader's in the closet, and then she's like she's like ho with calculation Wilson notes that she's like, oh, well, I'll tell you about which of the slave girls are bad. And he's like, I don't need your help. I'm just go. Go look at the myself. I've already got to figure it out to like learn to delegate. Yes. Odysseus? That's what that's my recommendation to you. Well, he did. And then all those dudes killed those cabs. Well, that's just because he went to sleep. Oh, that's a good point. I thought he has one more conversation with Penelope before the books out. And she basically is like should I stay or should I go like should I then? And it's my it's my favorite song. She says, and I think the leagues are speaking to me, should I like hang out here with my son or should. I should. I like, oh, Mary someone it's gonna suck. "Avs? Yes. I disagree with that. Okay. Well, wait. Are you telling me to not talk about playoffs? Are you telling me you're talking about playoffs talking about the playoffs? Okay. They'll talk about. If you look at the Western Conference in the in the NBA, and there's a real opportunity for the nuggets to potentially be the second seed with the Avs. I'm surprised that the Pacific is not as good so far as we have thought they would be what division the Pacific. So the Avs. I know here's my point. I think the ads right now are two headed thing the Avs are playing. Well, so that has also gotten them to second place in the west, but. The Pacific just doesn't look like we expected it to yet. And that's my point. Yeah. And but that's also my point yet twenty five games in twenty four twenty five. But that's my that's exactly what I'm saying. Is that I believe that. There are more teams in the west from a talent perspective that are better than the Avs than the amount of teams in the west that are more talented than the nuggets. So I would say at the end of the regular season. I think we'll see the nuggets with a higher standing in their Western Conference. Then we see the apps now if we're going to go the playoffs route. I think that that's a little bit murkier of a picture because I think both teams are showing some somewhat unexpected defensive prowess. So I think that I'm very confident to say that in Aaron says or not in the Pacific. I know they're not in the Pacific. I'm saying that the Avs are doing well and the Pacific is lagging behind. So there aren't any teams in the Pacific that Iraqi up the points, like the wild predators and Avs are. That's my point. I should've said that. And then brought up the Pacific thing. I know they're not in the Pacific. Then they used to be in the Pacific. I came over. Yeah. The three divisions or whatever they had right? And they're bringing from Quebec. So they're like, well, we don't really know northwest. I thought it was the Pacific northwest. Now, the central. Then H gel has done some jostling. Yeah, they have. So they're in the central division. So so that's my talking about the Pacific known talking about. That's my question to you Avs or nuggets who by the end of the year. "Hill make a a little pause and it allows the goalie to set allows us defense to set and get a poke check on it when he comes down and shoots in stride is really no way to anticipate where that's going mix it for a tough save and rene sproul out there couple flurry of shots before that as well andrew ghetto after the face off goes down to the corner trying to get a hold of the puck lost it yarn crops slides it out to the right wing side bork turns sends it behind the nashville net rene pastors for yosi yosi backhands ls behind the nashville goal jd copper spend adra ghetto no dumper goes to the avs bench as a puck is skipped in on net by scott hartnell we're right about at the blue line and held there by andrew hammond well that's what they did exactly read that play rate there the fire stretch guy you have scott hartnell waiting just outside the fire blue line and then they fired up to him at the red line he comes to it turns and gets it in deep that's exactly what they didn't game for they need to do more of that in my opinion get some on the four check and in this case it gets them often some zone face off and they can put the jolfa line out there trying to capitalize on it so joe hanson and the faceoff split over to the right side skated up by neo nazi down the right side curls he was on his back and lost control the puck tap back his general direction cuts behind the net back can't beat out toward the line held in audio and then comes low for ryan johannesen shubin up the right board and that one deflected off a glass support out of play six seventeen off the clock we are in period number two this game number five of a best of seven furniture's lead the series three games to one and it's nothing.

"Of making the playoffs and it's like this team better than that this team is is a team that you should have some sort of expectations about the nugget let's talk about the end the nuggets both them yeah both of them are teams that you should you should expect more than because they're they're young teams that have talent and you're just waiting for the coming out party much like when the nuggets got knocked out of the playoffs with golden state for example that was the coming out party for golden state and i'm not saying the nuggets are gonna become golden state but there's going to be a coming out party and it should have been this year thinks it's funny because i do i do you've got the nuggets and you got the apps and you're absolutely right people are i think it's just the nba like like people really like the nba but seventeen percent increase this avs team in railings is just as young if not younger than this nuggets team and they've over over exceeded our expectations this year because the difference is that the avalanche our and we've seen in the these three games they are mckinnon right and then rantanen in landis scott chip in zada roth is nice physical player on the well in the playoff right but but there's no depth with with the abolition with the with the nuggets they have twenty six guys on the roster and conceivably twelve of them are of mba quality they this should be on the bench anyway so they should war.

"I'm more into fit bit except i did by fit bit like the other like a new fitbit and like the batteries completely shot and i'm just like i'm just gonna revert to my old fitbit so i'm very angry with fifty right now but i do love your app it's incredible design and very user friendly this is sponsored by the avs specifically not device currently yes weird it's weird i i feel like i personally based on historical evidence has happened so far tend to trust apple as a company with my data and i kind of have to because they own all of my data anyway so like i might as well it is for me the benefits of of tracking my health information with this are really large from right now and so like that seems important to me and it's also enemy all all personal data like is important and should be valued and is not it's not nobody cares but it's also like it's not like it's something like an hiv status or really important stuff it's like very basic things like even if that data did someone else hands it'd be like wow this person was kinda sad today who knew you'll never believe it what quin rose to five thousand steps july fifteenth two thousand sixteen it was really fun to go back look at my steps once i realized it was tracking them because some days it was like you walked thirteen miles today sometimes it was like you literally did not leave your house.
