FTX: Beyond the Headlines With John Berlau
"Quick detour here because you brought this up and I was just reading this this morning. This environmental government issue that we're talking about ASC stuff is there's a lot of concern among Wall Street right now, especially going into directors meetings and elections or directors and some of the rulings that they can't block the groupings of here's the directors that the company is pushing here, the ones that the activist, if you would push, is this something that, again, any sort of branches all from what semi free was doing, is this a concern on or is it just mainly just fear of companies, but is there a real concern that activists and others who are pushing these agendas could get footholds on some of these large boards buying more than others? There is a real concern and it's going to be on top of sarbanes oxley and you know which the rush through after enron, which I've written about and affected earlier and died Frank, it's going to mean less companies go public in the first place or only go public when they're very big and who loses out from that. You know, mom and pop investor. And again, these agendas are going to be at the expense of the financial well-being of Joe and Jane for four-o-one-ks. It was kind of two sides at the same time. They allowed the SEC allowed fraud and an ESG firm to apparent fraud in ESG firm like FTX to faster and they're having their encouraging all these agendas that harm investor return.

AOC Confronts Troll Calling Her His 'Favorite Big Booty Latina'
"I don't know if you guys know who prom times Stein is if you look him up on the YouTube piece of comedian and he's incredibly funny and he is the biggest conservative troll ever. And I love it because he started trolling at city council meetings, I believe city council meetings where he would go and he would give ridiculous rap songs. He would play these characters and do all types of things in these meetings where the city's required to allow citizens to speak. And that's how he would be able to convey his messages of disdain or messages of necessary improvement for the city. He would convey them those videos will be entertaining and go viral. Now he's taking a troll into another level because now he's flying to D.C. and he's trolling people and he's exposing the Democrats and finally we have somebody on our side that's willing to be a massive troll against the left is lunatics. So I want y'all to see how him and AOC kind of bump heads. I believe she was walking to the capitol building and he said some things to her that I thought was absolutely hilarious, given the fact that he's a comedian, it was the perfect troll to get AOC to engage. And then we're going to listen to what AOC said about the interaction and how she plays the victim every time words are coming out of her mouth. Let's play the first clip with prom's time Stein. AOC, my favorite big booty Latina. I love you, AOC. You're my favorite. She wants to kill babies, but she's still beautiful. You look very beautiful in that dress. You look very sexy. Look at that booty on AOC. That's my favorite big booty Latina. My favorite AOC, nice to meet you ASC. Look how sexy she looks at that dress. Oh, I love it, AOC.

Tom Ascol: The Next President of the Southern Baptist Convention?
"I'm talking to my friend Tom aspel, ASC OL. Look it up. Tom, ask AS COL, he was the senior pastor of grace baptist church for 30 6 years. He's the president of founders ministry and the institute of public theology, candidate for president of the Southern Baptist convention. The vote is next week. So Tom askell, people need to get to Anaheim and need to vote. And I'm begging you folks. Take this seriously if you know somebody who can be there and he's thinking, oh, I don't know if I want to go. This is a big deal. This is the Southern Baptist convention. I mean, how many people are involved in Southern Baptist churches? How many people does this affect? Could you repeat that? How many people in the whole Southern Baptist convention, roughly how many are there? How many people are affected by the leadership? You're running to lead the Southern Baptist convention. Yeah, so there's 47,000 churches over 14 million members in those churches. What say it again? 40 7000 churches. 14 million members. Okay, ladies and gentlemen, we should have said this up front. This is huge. 47 thousand churches. Right. 14 million members. Yeah, let me draw it out for you. It affects far more than southern badness because our 6 seminaries educate one third of all the evangelical seminary students in America. So if you're in an evangelical church, it is likely that over the next 30 years, you're going to be directly influenced by southern Baptists or Southern Baptist trained minister who got his training at a southern institution. We also have the largest missionary sending force in the world and what happens in the SBC affects far more than the SBC. It affects other evangelical groups and churches in North America. And more than that, it affects the work of the gospel around the world, because we export what we have here. And if we're not healthy here, it's not going to be healthy wherever we export our Christianity. And that's how you

"Eleven centimeters by eleven centimeters that is the little tiny cube and it's ridiculously bright so cool. It reminds me that really it kind of reminds me of like If you've ever used old lowell lights like a low god yeah films go that we used to have those kits. It's smaller than a lull and it's probably is smaller than an omni probably brighter. Doesn't get hot and can be battery powered. Nicos won't burn your hand like a low light one walt. You won't leave with second degree burns samantha. I burned my hands so many times on those kits and now she'll tends or so. Ben it is our famed short end. Time again What is your short end this week. So my short end You know this this week. The box office was set. Ablaze by halloween. Kills the nine billion installment in the halloween franchise and even as a giant horror fan I i watched it. 'cause it's also peacock by the way. I think it actually bears mentioning in. This is not my short end. But i feel like it bears mentioning how i was bringing up with for instance the suicide squad. Dane date releasing in my opinion hurt. Its box office will apparently did not hurt. Halloween kills box office. Because halloween kills made fifty million dollars which out grossed every genre movie. I believe since the pandemic started. It's fifty million dollars over the weekend but my short end is a little teeny tiny horror movie that a lotta people haven't heard of that i. I wish more people would hear of 'cause it's really really cool. It is called lamb l. a. n. b. l. a. m. b. and it's an icelandic film. That stars newly rape case raw pace. Repace stars new me rape ace from The original girl with the dragon tattoo And she's been in a lot of stuff she's been in a lot of american stuff but apparently she is a native icelander or at least was raised Speaking icelandic and it's directed by somebody named evolve. Valdemar johannesen or johansen. I hope i'm pronouncing his name. Numerate this movie is bonkers bonkers in a good way in a great way. It's the kind of movie that i often mocked. Who say. I wanna make a slow burn horror movie because slow-burn often means i can only think of three things instead of five things to happen in a movie and so i'm going to have a of dead air in between so this movie kind of starts out with a very. Shall we say deliberate pace about a husband and a wife were childless. Who are running a sheep. Farm in iceland and the cinematography is gorgeous and one of their Sheeps gives birth to a lamb. That shall we say has somewhat human characteristics who and so they start raising it as their own child and it is a slow yes and so they basically take it from its mother and they bring into the house and they put it in a crib and they treat it like it's a person and it does have. I don't want to spoil anything but it does have some distinctive human like qualities it. It's really really fricken. Weird and i see it really stuck with me and i love it. And it's gorgeous gorgeous to look at it. Stop by somebody named eli arnson. I hope i'm pronouncing your name right and And the cinematography is just it makes me wanna move to iceland immediately. It's gorgeous. It looks great. The acting is phenomenal. It is funny in certain ways like it is aware of how absurd of a concept is and the thing i always say about a slow burn movie and i can't stress this enough if you're gonna make a slow-burn horror movie or any slow-burn movie i sort of feel like the more you make the audience. Wait for it. The bigger that payoff has to be or year just a douche and the payoff in. This was so worth the wait. I can't even begin to tell you. It's an awesome movie. Seek it out. i don't know if it's a streaming yet i saw. I actually went to a movie theater and sought with friends at a movie theater fully masculine and whatnot but it is definitely worth the price of admission and just super weird and brilliant and interesting and strange so i hope a few people check it out. Wow i'll check it out and it's not even my thing but you're you're i mean it's not like a gore fest or anything like that so i i think if you're into horror movies but you're not like it's not a movie that's like loaded with cruelty your gore torture or anything like that. It's not a slasher. it's more like a dark fantasy like a brothers grimm kind of story but just told uber realistically in in the modern time it's not i would almost say it falls into the realm of like folkore like the witch but the which is more of an overtly presenting itself In your face as a horror movie in this is more just kind of like it's interesting and it's odd and i hope that the director gets attention for it and gets to make you know some bigger stranger things. That's my hope. So ilia what is your short end. This week My short end. Is i feel like a cliche. It's another lens so Or actually it's a set of lenses and these are some lenses. Actually that you can't buy but you can rent and there's some really interesting links that that we can put into the show notes so you can go check them out but has sort of taken a page out of panavision book and what some other companies have done where they have modified existing lenses to create something new and so they have these very very high performance anamour lenses that came out a few years ago in fact they were so high performance that it turned off some people because they didn't have necessarily all of the sort of animal characteristics that that perhaps people were going for and what they do is they took those lenses. The master anamour fix which they had a partnership is they took those lenses. They converted them to full frame optics. Kind of i think. Funky them up a little bit and give a new paint job so to speak and they're going to be available only from ari rental but The lenses that people were talking about like how they were so perfect and so you know pristine they made them less pristine and Now it's something that that you can only rent and they have a little Video which they've shown off which looks really great and then they also took some older lenses. Some some cannon fda and some olympus lenses That were originally made by a company called movie cam. Movie became actually got a choir by airy many years. Remember movie again. yeah that movie became. They made some really good products and one of the things they had. Were these these lenses. He's very much vintage. Lenses lenses while they've full framed the ones that may not have been quite full frame which which. I'm not sure exactly what they are. And they give new housing and made them much more robust and they posted a cool video of that and it's like areas making some lenses some relief serious legitimate lenses out there that now you can only get from them as a rental provider and it's interesting because airy their whole business used to be about sales and you know there's tons of rental houses out there and while they did. Have you know you name it. A couple of rental places here there. They weren't necessarily about like all about the exclusiveness of certain items. But that's changed that's changed in a big way. I'd say really certain since the alexa sixty five and now there's there's new lenses that are based around full frame which means they pair perfectly with the alexa minneola. It wouldn't surprise me if we see these lenses also appearing in their new Lpn mount so. Yeah it's it's really interesting. I think that people really like him. The the test footage that they showed and the build quality all seem excellent and it really seems inspired to me. It seems like they're actually responding to the market which is been very heavy for either vintage lenses or vintage. Sort of look lenses and they've come out with some stuff that's unique to them and We'll see who who copies it or does the same thing it looks. It looks really cool. That's awesome yeah that's cool. I'd love to see. I need to check out that Footage you were talking about the shows. What these lenses can do. Yeah we'll We'll put a link in the show notes. If you go to cam n-o-a-a dot com and look at this episode. We'll we'll have a link there you can check it out. Excellent excellent well. I think that wraps us up then Who do we need to think this week. Let's think firstly cody who Is making sure that we get all these great interviews like this one today with bob yeoman and so many more so many more i can't got some pretty kick ass ones coming up Let's think ben cats. Ben cats who's We didn't make his job that easy today. Man i'm interested to see how he cuts down.

"She. Doesn't you know. so i'm glad you bring up the aromatics. Because i one of those people who own a a rushmore criterion dvd which lists which shows actually a bunch of the early storyboards from from rushmore. On there and i was gonna ask you. If that's pretty much the story board experience because i gotta say that wes anderson is gonna make anyone else who's scratching out storyboards really quickly on the back of a napkin. Feel really good and when you see the comparison that they do in this. Dvd they show the the final shot and then they show the story board. And there's a huge translation difference between what was originally scrawled out. And then what you guys created together. The antomatic sound like just taking that to the next level. I wanted to ask you though is how do you take storyboards. And do you still ever get those storyboards. But i mean really. They're very very crude. Sort of like. Hey you're the teachers here. A student is here. Hey there's sort of a square and what actually ends up happening. Though is a very elaborate dolly. Move with a with a reverse with something else that comes into it. How does to scratches two squares of sharpie on a piece of paper. Become what you end up with. Well that's the earlier movies. Where all the way west do his own star wars and if you've seen them he has very distinct style drawing and i think he gave us a rough idea what things were but when we started. I think that when we started drilling up. Fantastic mr fox and working in animation. It changed the way he looks at movies. A great deal now and that's right after that was when started coming and he plots the whole thing out kinda you know he has a guy. Does those form and he tells them what to do. Obviously you know. So now i get. I get an antibiotic and in many ways then is more useful than me than the script is because i could see what the d is and so adam stockhausen or production designer can build around these antibiotic and it's amazing. They built a town in the desert here. You know i shouldn't be saying this. But and it's it's amazing how closely it resembles the antibiotic. I mean you know. And they even plotted out the spatial relationships and things you know. Because the dollar moves you're describing. They have to have happened in a certain amount of time. You know so for me. It's kind of the bible and for most people and we can see what the general ideas and they have where where the buildings are certain objects are where the characters are. And i have to say you know we pretty much do and i think he did animation with fantastic mr fox. He he learned how to those types of things and create worlds that in the old days we made in reality and now we i put a in the background or you know they do something else you know so there's a little bit more going on and post that i think they're wanted us. Well you know speaking of the fantastic mr fox. I'm not going to spoil the plot points but there's a great deal of animation. There's one specific sequence in the french dispatch. that's all animated was that always designed to be animated. Was there ever that. Yeah i mean. I think part of it was without You know the dangerousness of the whole thing. You know that there's a car chase people don't truecar and i think west realized that shoot. That was gonna be you know pretty ambitious and you know i think he really enjoys the animation and so the the whole idea right when i said oh. How are we going to do that. I mean even when we did the ski chase scene in grand budapest. I made some of that was done with rave toni-ann the sled or blown snow in their faces. And you know if we shook the camera. And so there's a lot of snow blowing and secrecy. The actors with all those wide shots were done with miniatures and animation. 'cause i said what are we going to do again. Switzerland and shoot in the alps or something and he was like you know. I think right away. He knew that that was going to be done in that style. And and i think with the french dispatches well that one sequence you brought up. It was right all along. It was going to be done that way. He he loves mixing styles you know and i thought it adds a whole kind of humor to the movie in a way you know. I really liked that part of it. So no i. I enjoyed it when i was watching it. I was curious if there was ever discussion of doing in live action. I don't feel like it suffers at all for being done the way that he did it and i feel like it's what i what i love about wes. Anderson's movies and i know we're here to talk about your work. But like one of the things i love about. It is if you go back and watch even the original bottle rocket short that he made you can see that. His cinematic voice was kind of there all along but then he keeps getting new pieces so like from fantastic. Mr fox or i love dogs now. We have animation as part of the language that goes into his live action films. And it's almost intentionally not seamless. It's not like it's bringing a new voice or a new texter to something that's already so rich and textual to begin with so yeah. I think it adds element that say we head shot live action with stunts and everything. I is part it kind of to me. I like the animated part of it gave kind of a is kinda humorous watching it. You know it's fantastic. What happens in that sequence. Replicate that you know in reality would not only take a huge amount of time and everything but might not be as funny as it is an animation and so i think it was a decision made right away not only from a practical standpoint but also from a creative standpoint. It was a better call to do it. That way so I think that's that's how about I genuinely loved it. And it was all i can think about for days after i saw it so i kind of wanted to go back if we could which brings me to the movie. I miss named the beginning drugstore. Not midnight cowboy drugstore not to be confused with midnight cowboy Gus van sant. Who is also in my understanding pretty experimental director and tries out different stuff and drugstore. Cowboys is such a gradient raw film. What is it is a cinematographer that you can do on a project like that to allow the actors to have the room to do the amazing work that was done in a movie like that. Well we did block things out and it was very pretty loose. A lot of ways matter like a foam. I did use in. The whale was no bombay. You know he's gonna get there that similar in that. It was not as specific. Says a wes anderson we where everything is so carefully control so the actors had a fair amount of them. You know the move around and we would react to that when we are on the dalai oftentimes. We could clear them or do what we needed to do. So there was a certain amount of freedom in that sense but had done melanoma before which was very lower budget movie that he made which is excellent About a gay hustler in portland in. What happened was the guy that shot nat film former his buddies. And when you got the money to do drugstore kabwe.

And i had no problem dropping. It was probably seventeen dollars or something for a ticket to see it but the economy of streaming what people pay for streaming is radically different. And you know even though people will pay thirty dollars to see a black widow movie a smaller documentary. That i i mean we can debate the cinematic merits of one or the other or the cost of producing one or the other but pound for pound. I got as much out of that documentary. As i've gotten out of most movies in the last several years so i absolutely loved it in to this day. It's still been about two months. Probably sixty percent of the music. I listened to sparks so it really had an effect on me. And i think that's wonderful and it's a great place for us to leave it. Where can people find you if they want to. Look you up outside of this podcast. You can find me outside this sparks house holding a boombox playing in your eyes not not holding a anonymous giant package that contains an ugly clown painting. Man if only you can find me at ben rock online. A lot of people have been doing that. You can find all my social media links and stuff on there. I'm at neptune salad on twitter. Pretty easy to find me there. Go meal find me. There are other ben rocks. But i think i'm easily the loudest of all the band rocks right. You're on the first page. Google you feel feel free to hit me up. Say hi always like talking to people who listened to the podcast and working people find you i. You can find me over at hot red cameras most days. We have all kinds of sort of skunkworks projects and things going on and We're actually doing a big remodel on our our showroom which is fun but But yeah if you listen to the podcast and you come on in. There is still a limited number of hot red cameras. t-shirts shirts. Esa euro a podcast fan and ask for a t shirt and we'll be happy to pass one along rudely demand your t shirt from ilya asked to speak to ilia and then it'd be a kind of entitled and wrote about it if you do that and i'm not there my staff is going to think you're like wh- total bonkers. "They had to share. Microphone and i felt a little embarrassed. Well we were we. Were short of microphones. Actually are all of our recorders. Had the capability but at that particular moment we were short of microphones. And you know perhaps the biggest difference between this and all the other zoom recorders is the music stings in other things that are kind of built in here which is one hand entirely cheesy but also a slightly wonderful especially for that person. Who's just looking for the absolute maximum in their production value. And they don't they. Don't have any other wherewithal on how to get it especially if you need the sound of an audience all right. That's enough of that. What your short end this week. So you know. In keeping with my obsession with sparks. Which is the movie. The sparks brothers directed by edgar. Right if if you see that documentary you see that. Both the brothers ron and russell had been trying to make a movie. They've been trying to break into the movie world. You know at least since the eighties or nineties and a lot of their music videos are very cinematic and actually they. They create a lot of their own music videos. But they finally got a move after several false starts and they are in their seventies now. They finally got movie made And it's called a net. And i actually saw in the theater and it stars marian qatar and adam driver and directed by leo's. I hope i'm pronouncing his name correctly of holy motors fame. And it is bonkers. I think that's that's right your speed. You love bunker. Yeah so it's been pretty bonkers. It is not for everyone. Some people will probably hate this movie. I found it to be kind of interesting. Moving it's a musical and all the music is written by a sparks. Ron and russell mail. They appear in it. A couple of times Once right at the very beginning later run an airplane in there playing the the pilot and the co-pilot so adam driver plays a stand up comic unlike any standup comic you've ever seen and marianne qatar plays a soprano with the opera and they are in love and they have a baby and that baby is like a creepy doll slash puppet and it's super odd. I don't wanna get too deep into it. Because i i would be spoiling vast swaths of it but it's first of all it is gorgeous. It's beautiful to look at. The acting is really amazing. the music if you like sparks music boy. Oh boy do you get some sparks style music even though it's Marianne kotaro and And adam driver and other people singing it and it is just. It's weird living in this world today. Because i remember you know as a kid seeing movies like pink floyd the wall or something not to compare this to pink floyd the wall. It's not..

"Make it black and white as it gets. That's not the ideal scenario but of course we can and we will so it was very interesting how i seared all my cinematography to a possible black and white of result which shooting like what the sand was very low so you create long shadows so the long shadows sort of like a signature of black and white and working with dr contrast in shallows against the wall and so we shot it in. We did pass in almost like a nomad to begins in association of jesse james sort of like the alwa- monochromatic world were were. It wasn't black and white. Buddy was almost almost drained caller and then we did a pass with our five caller defense on We did a passive way so we need to pass in little marvin show them to the story and they embraced the black and white. Now i haven't done one of those ones and not not really interested in one of those ones. I think is fantastic. I think is a great john ryan. Hopefully people can keep doing it. I don't necessarily. I need us optics. I need to be interested in something in the thing that interested me about them. Was you know that housing sometime. Between nineteen eighty. I may butchered. The day may get everything wrong. But a housing compound was sold in repossessed between the nineteen forties in nineteen eighties was sold repossessed by the same developer eighteen times. What yes they sell it to an upcoming community at any possible mortgage. They lose their house. They repossess it house and they sell game to another up and coming in its first jewish and then the blacks and they love the laws or the japanese and then whoever eighteen times so they build a house nut for x. Amount of money in. They made their money eighteen times. That has to be legal somewhere. Leave impossible so to me. That is the story the story of how you build this whole myth of the ownership and try and he's actually you're building the failure you're you're banning on the failure of the people In that to me that was the social injustice that that attracted me to the show any is there is a there is a little ms veira. There's a couple of guys and people die in. That's fine but i mean to me. It was very interesting that injustice. Like when you're working in john raya slasher movies or whatever. That live in this part of the world i would say is it's got some political you know it's got a it's got a political axe to grind and i'd say it's kind of with design guys of Shows like lovecraft. I kept thinking about how you were trained. If i'm not mistaken as an architect and i was noticing in the show the way the architecture because you know it takes place. It looks like town and country magazine. Or better homes and gardens from the nineteen fifties or nineteen sixties and. It's compton in l. a. but there's a real attention to detail when it comes to architecture and i was wondering while watching it and thinking about your your background like your background in architecture inform kind of the spaces and the way that you were kind of designing the lighting in the cameron how to feature it definitely does if i were to start a game in twenty four or twenty five a game..

But you damn you. i'm sorry. Sorry when they look when they look at the numbers of the suicide squad. The james gunn the suicide squad not to be confused with david. Eyres suicide squad. The box office numbers are lower than than expected. And this is all in this article and they show actually that movies like the fast and furious movie if nine which had no dane date on it made you know significantly more in in theaters. Even under the circumstances that were in in made seventy million dollars theatrically and there's a bunch of movies here that you can look at in this article to compare although black widow which did have a day and date release made eighty point four million so it actually made more than half nine with a hybrid released but that was with disney pluses premium. Thing where you can pay thirty bucks so the question is would you rather pay thirty bucks to watch it at home or whatever you know you add up the cost of parking in snacks and stuff like that to watch.

"And this one is interesting because I would argue that that is paired with all three of these in some form, like all three, like ASC's mysticism and trance. In some form. So hear me out. Okay. I think that psychedelics push you into a an altered state of consciousness. Faster than any of these other experiences what on their own. But I think where you go from that is then the difference. So some people when they do take psychedelics or psilocybin, any mind altering drug, they have certain mystical experiences. Some people have trance like experiences 'cause like, you know, we know like tons of people take these kind of drugs at music festivals to kind of enhance their experience there. So I think it's almost like a pairing to all of these. Rather than kind of being one of its own thing, I can see that. I think I forget which episode we talked about this in, but it might have been our last in the news episode where we were talking about. Yeah, we talked about this a bit. Drugs. Like, do you think can we say a mystical experience isn't truly real if it was triggered by psychedelics? And I would say, no, you can't say that. But I know that some people, I think some people would say, you know, if it's if it's triggered by an external source like psychedelic or psilocybin, then it's not truly religious, truly mystical, it's biological. But then how would you, how do you tell the difference? How can you say a mystical experience like a quote unquote tree one isn't biological yeah, well that's my question then, too, and like, for example, trance I would say is brought on by an external factor because I think music can shift around your brain chemistry in certain.

We're which we always mentioned. We're thrilled to see. We love to see that kind of thing so we saw strategies for designing effective training request forms. That's usually in business. Situations Flipped classrooms discussed multiple articles about flipped classrooms Lesson planning with universal design for learning formative assessment for remote teaching the roles of an instructional coach. All of these things were discussed are recommended. Read in this area is planning for fair group. Work by amir suli and susan m brookhart for asc. Once again i apologize. If i mispronouncing any of our authors names. This was a really good read Describing group work and how to organize a group work setting that everybody finds fair and equitable And i think pretty much all of us who are involved in designing any kind of instruction have had some moment where we've had to organize group work and gets get some kind of pushback from people saying you know. Why are we doing this so this is a really good article. I think in terms of just laying out the the wise and the winds in the house for group work number two our number two Trend is slightly different than normal. Normally we would say that one of our big trends over the past. Few years has been digital security and citizenship. This time around it was all digital security. We had a number a number of articles about just security issues. In general for example microsoft announced security enhancements for dynamics three sixty five viva and teams.

Senator Amy Klobuchar to be vetted for Vice President
"Other election news to Amy Klobuchar Is being vetted for Vice President though? I imagine she'll be one of a few candidates so this in no way means she will be the pick but everyone speculating about it on social media. I'm GonNa vote for Joe Biden because trump is not an option. No matter who the picket I have my favorites. But it's nothing is a deal breaker in this election for me. So you know it's funny for me obviously like the idea of Amy Klobuchar. Vp off as thrilling but on the flip side You started this morning. Agm facebook. I was reading about it. That a Biden named ASC to lead his climate task force. That feels like a huge. That feels like a huge huge signal to progressives that he's GonNa take that seriously that gives me a lot of hope and A lot of positive feelings. Ya same me to it. Really sort of puts forth the idea of the Big Toe Party and that we need all progresses and moderates and conservative Democrats at the table exactly Because the you know we're just fighting against this one small faction of the Republican Party which is trump base. And they're just insane and we can't have that so I am glad I. I'm glad that he picked Kluber Shar an John Kerry or not of AFC and John Kerry to head up the climate task force you know. She is the architecture of the green new deal. John Kerry was the architect the Paris Climate Accord. So right there. You've got just so much incredible experience in so many amazing ideas and I think he's really really open to bringing the progressives into into the party. So I'm I'm like you. I'm hopeful with that with that news as well. Yeah and it wasn't just an ASC but is also the CO founder of the Sunrise Movement. Which is a huge youth climate organization? So that is a huge unity task force for me. And I'm I'm really happy about that. Greatness news yet and I'm and I know his he's putting together a Cova Task Force. He has already. And I'm hoping that as he continues to put together these task forces that he continues to just build dislike mega of all different walks of the Democratic Party. And and and you know just make it. So everybody is represented Absolutely I think if everybody feels represented one way or another. That's the way we move forward. Not everyone's going to be happy all the time but but you can have both inclusivity in compromise existing in the same space. I think So yeah that's that's that's great news and just the fact that there will be a woman. Vp is is

California governor Gavin Newsom says reports being prepared and the area secured with the entire process to remove passengers expected to take two to three days former FDA commissioner says now is a crucial time in the fight against the virus on CBS's face the nation Dr Scott Gottlieb said the next two weeks are key and he adds that the next two months will probably be difficult with the closing closing of of businesses businesses and and schools schools Gottlieb Gottlieb did did offer offer reassurance reassurance saying saying quote quote we'll we'll get get through through this this another another former former democratic democratic presidential presidential candidate candidate is is endorsing endorsing Joe Joe Biden Biden in a video on Twitter California senator Kamilla Harris threw her support behind the former vice president saying quote I believe in joke we need a leader who really does care about the people and who can therefore unify the people and I believe Joe can do that and with us right now was ABC news political analyst Steve Roberts Steve what a difference a week makes it did you anticipate Joe Biden picking up this mode the momentum this quickly no I have not I don't think anybody did I I think what we're what we're seeing though is a fascinating phenomena based on one word and that word is fear it's fear of Donald Trump and fear of Bernie Sanders Joe Biden has not been reborn as some useful charismatics move talking energetic candidates Joe Biden today is still the same Joe Biden that people have a lot of doubts about two weeks ago two months ago two years ago the difference is that Democrats have so desperate so frantic to find somebody who can beat Donald Trump that they decided that day either as a group and individually as voters and as candidates they'll camel Harris being an example of of having to rally around somebody and then choosing between Biden and Sanders the fear of Bernie Sanders is pulling the party too far to the left so there's a lot of energy around the Biden candidacy right now but in my view it's largely negative energy it's driven by fear it's driven by desperation there are not a lot of Democrats even this morning jumping up and down in Saint Joe Biden's gonna be a great candidate a great president but this negative energy is very powerful and that's what's driving this trend do you think it's now his to lose or is it too early to say that definitely has to lose end up and I think it's gonna be very difficult for Bernie Sanders to rebound here the one variable of course the one no wild card is by himself as I say he has not been report he's still the guy who can show astounding lapses of judgment he's still the guy who could make gaffes he's still the guy who can show his age very clearly he's still the guy who can appear fumbling and uncertain and in debates with Bernie Sanders and interviews it's still entirely possible for him to make damaging mistakes I think a lot of Democrats even if they rally around by they're holding their breath and hoping that Biden will get its act together and I've seen some signs a few signs of Byton improving on the stop I think he's shown a little bit more energy I think the campaign line about I'm the candidate of those who have been left behind it counted out is a defective and powerful line really echoes of a bill to written of nineteen ninety two the comeback kid although Biden's hardly a kid he's more the comeback teaser than the comeback kid and also this line of of of appealing to the concepts of dignity and civility and normalcy I think they provide a fairly stark contrast to the president who's in the oval office now but Biden is still Biden it was all of his flaws but at this point he's the Democrats best hope and it's gonna be very difficult for Sanders to capture Steve thanks for your thoughts again this morning ABC news political analyst Steve Roberts it's also worth noting that this morning one of the former candidates US senator Cory Booker came out in support of Joe Biden for president the company's time five fifty one seventy two are propelling turns money update writer says Boeing's proposal to leave Saturday’s NFL schedule is an unexpected delight: Three games with high stakes
"And we had some great games yesterday we had Texans defeating the Bucks wrapping up another A. F. C. south champs there for for five seasons they've done that we ended up having the rails be eliminated by Jimmy garage below Robbie gold late into that ballgame is the forty Niners looking for that number one seed but it was all about the New England Patriots once again and of course they win the AFC east for the eighty seventh consecutive year and bill Belichick was asked about you know where that ASC east hat how do you like the fit of the hat the current lower Nyssa can you imagine it sounds like or how should show press good right yep yep yep sounds good me we can get it done with all its music and I played with Brett Farr is that's that's fair is there a worst give me because who buys that I mean you know you're always looking for a last second Christmas gifts I mean does anyone actually own an A. F. C. east champs T. series in fairness you're offered up a banner that they participated in AFC championship so there are two New England is not gonna be one of those programs that is excited about a hat from an AFC east championship that I think you just said eighty seven straight yeah they're not but but you don't think of the Browns won their division that those hats would go flying off the shelves I I guess right again it's it's expectation level on where you've been and I was in baton Rouge earlier this week and I looked at it and it had give the semi final game tee shirts as you know against Oklahoma there like a get ready for the peach bowl this could be great Mike that's got to be a tough sell as far as merchandise did you want to say that you went there yeah you want to take it that you went to the game yes but it's not the end all be all for Ellis shoots to win a national championship in is to have the national championship cert against probably either I think the Clemson Tigers at Ohio state if they're able defeat defeat Oklahoma but for the patriots it's incredible that they continue to do it and I think I go back and look at Sean McVay tell sure and what happened I thought this was interesting his quote about not going to the Super Bowl would ready to attack the Aussies it is tough because you care so much about these players the work that they put in and you want to do your part to try to you know see yourself you know have see those guys have that success and get an opportunity compete for World Championship we're not gonna do that but I do trust that were made of the right stuff I know that once we get through next week I can't wait to attack the off season figure out how I can be better for this football team as we move forward and I think the scars are gonna make us better it's interesting you know the last time I heard bill Belichick talking give something similar a speech two thousand eight I don't even think you gave that speech river Brady was alpha back castle ins of coming in after Brady got injured in the first couple of games and they go eleven five that was the last time it's been over a decade since the patriots had to give a speech like that and when I see Sean McVay who was this hot you know commodity they go they lost a wild card game made it to the Super Bowl in your two and we're thinking all right he's figured out the game he's brilliant makes me appreciate tells her what bill Belichick and the patriots continue to do in this sport appeared at the end of a yeah and that's why it's been the gray of people say it's the greatest run dynasty in the history of the league because how everything is structured for this not to happen and you see that these teams that lose super bowls the hang over effect there is something there because it's so hard to get in that position and then when you just fall short of it the error just comes completely out and having to reboot now they're rebooting and when you give up draft picks like the rams have and they have a full offense of why they have to re vamp you know in a way it is not left tackle he's getting older if he's gonna come back and play there's a lot of different things that they're going to have to deal with in the Sean McVay the genius title and why so many of these young coaches got hired that was not the case for a majority this season they did come on and play better at the end of the year but there is a stretch in the middle of the season this team was lost so they have a lot of work to do show my face got to figure out kind of new ways to reinvent what he's doing with the personalities gonna have it in you try to re invented and we see reinventing offices work right we we see with what the ravens have done under Lamar Jackson we sell it Sean make very had done obviously with the rams and the collegiate level though I think you can win a national championship by reinventing your office I you look at the LSU Tigers and and what we seen even clubs and while work with but in the NFL it's tried and true it's not about how great your offenses ask Patrick well homes as he has a super beau yet now is arguably the most impressive player often simply we've seen in years but it's about the defense and I guess we still trust the patriots more than anyone because of that defense dowsers or anyone else no I mean right now if you ask me I trust Baltimore and what they're doing running the football and then the defense because it used to be it was all defense and still it keeps you in these games but with the roles and how things go use you have to be able to move the football and that's why the people have been more down on this patriots team because they've struggled so much all season well yesterday was the first real glimpse in the last three or four weeks that you see you know what maybe and now I think you're gonna see a little bit of that doubt start coming back
