In Luz We Trust With Linda Garcia
"Linda Garcia. Welcome to come up here for having again and again Ah. Welcome back I'm so excited for this conversation because it's long overdue and also perfect timing you moved. So I haven't seen you in person in a long time. Yes. How long ago was that? Can you believe it's year already already? Yeah that's. Insane. How do you feel I think? Well, it took a long time. I don't want to Discount Bat. It did take some adjustments and I did a lot of inward work which ironically was part of the journey where I'm at now. So it's like part of the process, and now that I'm like lifting my head above the water. Speak I feel like nothing would be happening. Had I not moved none of this like there I don't think I would be doing what I'm doing now if I still had been in La totally in I remember number Lewis and I tried to talk you out of it. Yeah because like you talked about this way before you actually made the move. Yes, and we were like, how do you know? Yeah so true you know I mean obviously, it's not an easy decision. There was a lot of ego attachment tied to like living in La. What was I going to do if I wasn't in L. A. and the reality is that like I knew I spend most of my time inside my office I'm not doing L. A. Banks. And if there's ever an la thing that is really important, I can simply outs two hour flight. You know I didn't have to make it more complicated than what it was. But what's interesting is one of the consistent messages that I kept receiving from my intuition was that I would encounter wealth. When. I moved out to Dallas shut up consistent loud and clear. It was actually more specific than that. When you moved to Dallas, you are going to be wealthy. Did you question it believed it one hundred percent so it was almost like the driving factor of having to move out here I told one person and it was Ana I saw her I think the week that I was going to move. I was invited to any event with. Nielsen. was the man awards actually end I told her I said, you know my intuition keeps telling me that when I moved to Dallas I'm going to be wealthy and it was weird even say that says that. Right. Sure. Well. Let's talk about that because even with that, there's a lot of shame in our community thinking about wealth and and having a lot of money. It's like how dare you want to have a lot of money because those people like all the beliefs that get so like put in our heads around people that have money because we look at the best you know that has all the money in you're like hanging out but I so Mila, you know with all their stuff and so there's this like sense of shame that. We grow up with around being wealthy. So how was it for you? When you kept getting that? Of course you you've done a lot of work that yes. So I did start doing the work towards that a couple of years ago a wall. So two years prior to moving. So it's been a total of three years and it's been very intentional work like I need to heal my money wounds because money was coming in and I would feel guilty about having it or I would find a way to get less of it. If. I was producing an event or opening up space I would charge my break even point how stupid is that I would urge enough to make money yes. Though I was doing that for a long time and it's very Still. Yeah. That's not okay. something. Really. I mean really it's the clearest message of Oh yeah. You don't value yourself. Exactly. It's. It's all about self worth. So share meister with with Airbus before I forget it, I sent a whole newsletter about it because this month and power sisters is. month. So we're all working on our self worth Steph and so for me unconsciously at individ-, worthy of two, hundred, fifty dollar airports because dairy I spent all this money when there's kids that are dying and children in cages and how Meghan spent two hundred fifty dollars in the pair of electronic set Dr Necessary Right. So what I was doing, this is how like annoying or unconscious works to like sabotages right. So I realized that I had like fifty pairs of different kinds of headphones. Word for different things like some were good for phone calls the wired ones were the ones that are good for phone calls. The wireless were only good for like walking my dog and listening to podcasts because if somebody called me, nobody could hear me ahead over. That were good for like listening to something and like whatever right? Like all the fifty ones that I had had a recent to be, and then when I did the math pam you've bought three. Air Pods. Bright like we do that all the time I mean I know a beach Lucas I live at both solid cotto it's not. It's crazy how we will justify spending a lot of little bit of money. And not the one time. This is a good investment.

What's the best mic for podcasting?
"To, kick off his answer to the Cuny Wednesday question. What is the best Mike for podcasting? WanNa start by saying that I've done a ton of research on this topic. I've done a incredible amount of experimentation We've recorded over sixteen hundred episodes of this podcast and every single time record an episode. We try so many different things to improve the quality of the audio of the sound of the edit to continually be professional and compete with professional podcasts. So I'm not going to geek out on giving you all these different types of microphones you can buy on. Ana, give you the summation of what I've learned over the years. Will you really need to know what I would tell somebody if they're getting started with a podcast? Actually going to start somewhere completely different somewhere. The whole thing to do with microphones because you can have a state of the art microphone that costs five hundred dollars plus but it will do you. No. Good. If you're space is awful if we're you record is not a good space as conducive to recording, it doesn't matter what you're going to use to record for example, very court my podcast with a great quality Mike but There's construction going on there's noises dog barking I'm in a room with high. Ceilings and no installation that record is going to sound straight trash. Okay. It doesn't matter that you have a great Mike because your environment is horrible. Good news is that you can easily manager environment and make sure that wherever you record, it's actually conducive to agree recording. So one of the things I highly recommend is your cord either in a walk in closet or closet, the has shelving the bare minimum have your mic on a shelf in a closet and you record into that shelving into the closet. Because your voice is being projected towards the mayank into the closet, and because the shelving is kind of. Confined like into a box, your voice is not going to be bouncing around a lot across the room. It's going to be confined to the closet. This is sort of creating a makeshift soundproofing or sound booth. This is going sound a whole lot better than you just having your Mike at your desk in a big room. The next level up is to actually record in a sound proofing box. This is an actual Foam box has soundproofing that you place your mic inside. And you place that box into a closet or a shelf, and this really makes everything sound like studio quality. It's incredible and your listeners just using a portable soundproof box that you can buy Amazon it's about two hundred dollars, but it's actually worth more than the actual Mike it's actually going to improve the quality of your audio more than the actual. Mike. Itself I actually. Just. Looked it up on Amazon and the one I was thinking of a travel on, which is two hundred dollars. There's actually an alternative one that is in portable, but it's only thirty six bucks. It's called the choice studio sound recording, vocal booth thirty, six dollars. It's basically a box me out of foam where you can place your mic inside and talk right into it. That is going to make a tremendous difference. Now, let's talk about Mike's There are whole much of mine because I can go through but I'm GonNa give you two mikes. One that I would say is absolutely amazing for the price and you can actually use for all your podcasting with that soundproofing for as long as you like, and the second one is going to be if you insist on buying something expensive, this is the one I recommend. So the first one is the Audio Technica eighteen or twenty, one, hundred, it retails for about one hundred bucks on Amazon it's a be an xl are Mike, which is great. That means if it's used. To your computer and record using your recording software right on your computer or they're using quicktime or Daswani, or garage band or whatever using record your audio. Now I mentioned ex- LAR-. It also does acceler excellent actual cable that needs to go into a sound or quarter like a Zumra quarter if you don't own talking about then this is kind of technical and you may want to Google that but if you're interested in recording on your Laptop than you have to get a Mike, this be compatible which is this one, the audio tape, a tr twenty, one, hundred. This is why I think is one of the best Mike's you can buy period for podcasting for a webinars for calls. It's fantastic. It's really really an amazing quality Mike. It's on intellectual mish means that when you speak into the mic picks up your voice and it does its best of not picking up. Anything that's around in the room. So even if somebody's shouting across the hallway, if you're in a different room, it won't pick up
Bobcat Fire burns over 105k acres in Los Angeles County
"National Forest has burned more than 106,000 acres while missing a key ingredient that drives most California mega fires were just getting going 17 out of the top 20 most destructive California fires have all started. In September, moving forward L. A county fire spokesman Sky, Cornell says. There's a reason fires tend to be bigger later in the year, and that's because of the Santa Ana winds that come that actually pushed the fire at a faster rate. That's not the case with this fire that continues to expand and consume or the forest in the neighboring communities, partially because the winds haven't followed a unified direction, like the Santa ANAs so when the wind shifts It takes some of the strategic things that we have in place, and it makes us adapt to that at the command post Christen Carl. The event is going to feature updates on IPADS and Apple Watch editions possibly era pod over the year a headphone an apples take on the tile bluetooth key finder I don't think it's going to have the same sort of pizzazz without the iphone but you know what we're GonNA end up with is to apple events one in. Mid September another in October, which will preview the new iphone which has been delayed due the the pandemic. Let me tell you what analysts expect to see start. Let's start with the IPAD basically a higher end better looking newer IPAD. This is the product that sells for five hundred dollars as opposed to the three hundred, twenty, nine dollars entry level, the eight hundred dollar ipad pro. ANA analysts expect an edge to edge display minus a home button and something that I'm pretty excited about touch ID with where you press the home button instead of using face id but touch ID will be on one of the buttons on the side of the unit I hate face id it never works for me, and of course, anybody with the mask no, it doesn't work for them either so I think this is pretty cool. The Apple Watch series six it's expected to be more about software than hardware with a more powerful processing chip it's expected to be able to detect blood oxygen levels and watch users could get an improved electrode cardiogram feature to check heart rate. Noted the roster currently is three, ninety, nine for the series five and one, ninety, nine for this series three. So I think series three is going to be replaced with a lower
Bobcat Fire Approaching 30,000 Acres in Angeles National Forest, Northeast of Los Angeles
"The Bobcat fire for the past eight days. It's burned nearly 30,000 acres in the Angeles National Forest and currently sits it only 6% containment. Eight days 6%. Captain Dave Danica Vela County fires a Bobcat fire incident commander he tells Can x, the thick smoke admitted by the fire is actually helping crews fight for more containment. It is helping that that smoke there and then the entre wins coming in. It is creating that cap over the fire. Making it easier to get out There, however, is very steep terrain, so we need to put those dozer lines around the containment line to make it Accessible for the fire stopped. Dannic also says conditions are better than expected as he anticipated Southeast Santa Ana winds well, thankfully, they didn't show up this week. He also set fire crews are focusing on containing the line where the two freeway and the highway 39 section intersect, making sure it doesn't spread east into the right wood area.
Richard Hannaford remembers 911
"Well on this 19th anniversary of 9 11. Richard Hannaford, who moved to Sacramento in 2013 was in the twin towers during the attack, he says it's still difficult for him to think about. It's one of those things. He's just vividly remember. I'll just I will. Excuse me, sometimes stuff like Comes in and out. And you know emotionally, so it's usually stutter, but I know it's like the invention of the day. It's quicker. Today is they were 19 years ago. Now it's like Holy smokes. Hannaford had worked in both towers. But that day was working on the 84th floor of the second tower hit was on the phone with a friend. And we're talking kind of setting up for the day. On DA You guys were at the window and Looking over and they were talking about something, and I looked over in the paper flying around. In there. It's like something's really not right about this, and they came willing back from the windows are ones on fire, and I just jumped off phone looked and then I could see it and I knew people there. Like hundreds. Oh, and Quickly tried to call over there, but it just went dead space, no phone. And of course, they had no idea what had happened, You know, jumped up phone, got a couple people together, and we've made our way down the stairs. And we've got about 42nd floor. There's about seven of us again. That's when the plane hit the building. We're between sky lobby on the next floor. And that's when the plane hit our building. And it's also where I learned what Jeff feels like. It was really, really, very you could. It was like being an earthquake kind of We're in the stairwell, but and you could see To where everything was building was shaking. Ana So's my Earth. California earthquake variances probably helpful Um And you know we worked our way down. And, um We were about to 20th floor. I guess it was We saw there were firemen There was there was five girls and two guys on DH. We're kind of Come along and actually playing at the building. It was it was pretty chaotic, cause we had no idea we were all I knew. It's all I knew from the minute I left, the floor was get down quickly as we can. And One girl even turn back into sky lobby. Then I've got to go back. Just can't be that important. I'll drive you in tomorrow morning on the Just part of that memorial. She went back up or over. Yeah, She went back up just by my stations. "Ship right on. What do you think that was amazing? I think do you think that sounds like it would be me if Iraq actually think that. That's what I would sound like that was actually written and recorded by a guy named Jacob. Legrand wow I feel like we've said that before the whole Jake Sounds like Jake Jake's drake's basically sound like I could see that yeah. He says he submitted a theme song. Not twice but once before you haven't used it. Which is why I think I'm more more than a little coy? It's truly a gem of me. Ps Gimme twenty cents. And I'll fuck you sweet video. He didn't just come up with that. That's actually something Buren. I came the reason. It's so funny and interesting to say that is because we came up with it and not because Jacobs did on his email anyway on a thank you so much for joining us. Thank God thank you so much for having me on to me. You have three different last last names. Yes well you actually go by. My full name is Ana Merita. Nikolic phone you're on a Rosenberg. Oh yeah well. That's my third one. They use different. Aliases depending on. You know what gift I'm pulling at the time but I used to really be on America. Now I'm on and Nicholas but maybe I'll just go back to being all three. Okay drop actually Nicholas Rosenberg. Meredith is a cool first name. It is right right. What about just Ana Ana we've had your fiance on the show a bunch before? I don't know if people have tied that together. Oh yes me the and Dave Rosenberg are used. That's how we met. You know I still a lot of my jokes from Dave and I think he steals. There's a lot of his jokes from us so we're finally gone straight to the source so you are me. Yes essentially all my God. PODCAST I am you. I'm the MERITA transplant. I like that. Just Ana you're not just Dave's fiancee more. Importantly your Dave now. PODCAST CO host on twin ovation. Right yes I can't believe it. I don't know how I conned my way and now I'm here. He was also pitching a Lotta your ideas on twin ovation. That's definitely true. What is what role? Oh have you absorbed onto innovation. Where do you like? What space do you feel podcast? I thought it was going to be like the host. But I'm definitely not dave is definitely. Yeah Dave just took over like a dictator and made himself a host and he introduces himself. I every week so I feel like I'm just like kind of a moderator. Maybe like when they start going off track you bring a back a bit but what is the what is your sorry. You burping me. Yeah I would never you. You've birthed multiple times it started. I'm just trying to rub in the fact that I can burp. Fuck off. Man What are you what is your what do you think is your marquee invention. What are known for? Oh my God well I feel like I started out really strong. Once I joined I had just had a bunch of ideas basically that I just write down anyway anyway. Ready to go but as the weeks have gone. I'm getting weaker and weaker phoning it in Well I'm not phoning it in. It's just it's hard to come up with a new invention every week. Like legit legit good one. I've been I've been a guest onto innovation four times and I think like after the second inventions my supposed to have. I don't know I mean I had a few weeks ago. That was called the quaker which is just a box that makes noise so that it won't be so awkward when you go somewhere you if there is just a box sitting on the table and it's like an awkward situation like you're meeting your fiance's family for the first time time or something and suddenly this box just goes like like quack like what is that and you have to just start explaining what it is and talking about it sort of gives you a little so this conversation starter. Yes just like a little colorful and mirrored box almost like a children's toy that makes noise you could just talk about it endlessly. That's cool and why does it quack I don't know that's that's kind of what I mean about phoning anyway. That's what came to me for the idea of a box that distracts from awkward situations is good. Yeah make it quack. Why not yeah exactly and also everyone said this was actually my worst idea? So I don't know why I decided to display it. What are you you said You specifically said I had a lot of good is known for my one flood of neared box? That can't remember any of my good ones now. Dave is probably known for. WE'LL DAVIS KNOWN FOR I. Guess the no the the thing think of me I can't take over and I also think they would be known for the true root which jarred women's Fart that he was mailing out. That's also not mine. Glad that it's not court all right. Let's try to answer some questions because we don't usually have a wise female guest imparting her wisdom. It's usually just me and jake sort of fighting back and forth into each other's astle that's right. I don't know if you've listened. Listen to this show and while but it's pivoted. Oh Wow smut okay yeah well. I'm glad I'm here. I should say that this is if I were you. The only advice podcast cast on the interweb hosted by us. I am a mere. I'm Jake Own the jump in there. Those guys and there's ever like a weird lull in the conversation. We should just start quacking on. What is we're GONNA beard jumpsuit? What is that? Never an awkward silence when my suit makes all these noise all right we got a question from a lady on a we just need to give her a fake name to preserve her aunt Ana Nitty ooh I love that yeah ESI Efi yeah dispelled that e F F. Why all right EFI rights? What do we all get right to the problem? I broke up with with my boyfriend five months ago. And we haven't spoken. Since however he reached out to me yesterday and said that he got logged out of his facebook account and wants me to resend all the photos. End Videos from our old facebook messenger conversation. This wouldn't really be a big deal however in those photos and videos there are some Nudie pix in a few videos that I don't really feel comfortable them having any more when I express this concern. Damn he said he really really wants these pictures and he has because it's the only thing he finds attractive attractive anymore and he still watches them all the time to do. I mean I knew he had them all this time and I haven't really thought anything of it but now knowing that he still still watches them all the time. And it's the only thing you get off do it. Feels like I'm a porn star to him or something. The videos aren't even good. Lol do I resend the photos. Because he had them before. So it wouldn't be any different or can I just not send it to him and Blue Ball. This guy forever for some context me and this guy dated for about a year ear and didn't end up on the worst terms. But the break-up was definitely one sided. He tried to get back quite a few times. Be leading him on or would it. Just be a nice thing to do things love EFI. That's right God. First of all you know that this girl is super young lake possibly actual teenager like just from the fact that she's even questioning if she should send this ex-boyfriend her new. She kept that facebook. That's old person platform. Yeah that's true I mean obviously the answer is just an outright. Of course it's not right. That is the way focus on the guy to even ask for it like to be like. Hey I lost our whole conversation resend it to me. Maybe that's like your ploy hoping that she doesn't notice exactly but then once she's like well I don't want to send you the whole thing. There's some news. Well actually. That's the only thing they actually jerk off to them. Every day The lie is fully revealed. Yeah and now. He's still we'll he's like all right. So yeah just GONNA come clean. I specifically what the nudes. 'cause I specifically mean to jerk off to them yes I why do you think this is a lie just to get back into her good graces. I mean it seems like he can just reset passwords. But he's like I don't WanNa like go. Through the whole ordeal of thinking about an eight Alpha numeric thing certainly the news that he. Why does he want right? I don't know my mother's maiden name. Would I ever get back into my facebook now. That is so weird out. Actually think that this guy is creepy and a stalker at this point because five months ago yes and like he's specifically saying that he wants the photos because he's not over you and like in a kind of not just like I miss you way but almost like a gross way. Yeah I I still need you to need these to Jack Off. Yeah Is A bridge too far too far. He asked because he knew she was the type of person. Jason that would even consider it. Yeah otherwise it would be a no go. Not only she considering it. She's considering it enough that she wrote in about it to you guys children's defense were should I do it or do I have two blue balls loopholes to not give them the old photos of you. That's not blue balls else. She owes him a little bit. Maybe is like implication. She'll be nice. You would owe him nothing for sure. I think he's trying to like reopened up a conversation with her and he's like this. Is this like weird drunken flirtatious way of doing it being like I can't get our news. I miss us the videos. Just send it to me. If you don't have it maybe send a a new one. I mean if this is his game like if even looking at it from every possible angle like the absolute worst is that. He's kind kind of a scumbag who's like specifically just asking for old nude photos. Because you like can't get over it and he's like kind of I duNno. Just like an aggrieved aggrieved stalker. That's absolute worst case. Scenario best case scenario which is what you're saying is that like he's trying to keep the door open. This is the worst attempt at flirting flirting. I've ever seen. Yeah so he's bad at that too exactly and also. I don't like that we're trying to make this seem sweet somehow like this isn't flirty this. This isn't like all branch. This is like a pervy like asking for someone's nudes. How does she trust that? Like he's just going to like sweetly keep these for his own pleasure. Anyway it's like he easy he she just asks him to promise I mean what is it she just give him her facebook password. That where's she's not re sending it it's just letting him have carte blanche access to her messages and information etc.. Yeah he can post on the wall. Aw He can respond to the messages and then he can sort of snoop to see if she's sent the nudes are videos to anybody else which he sort of deserves. As the ex boyfriend he can keep an eye I on on her goings about at Cetera et cetera but also spy on her directly if this is his it's like fat material he log onto facebook every time he wants to look at these leg. I'm surprised he didn't save them already. Like to his own device. That's just Eh. That's that's a that's a mistake. Yeah he dropped the ball there. Yeah like she was. She chalked up these nudes to like you know. That's that's just like love that's lost. That's that's a lost cause he's got them already but now he's like okay. So here's the thing the news that you thought that I had that you were maybe like. I don't have them. which is like that's good? Well my ex doesn't have all these news that's a good thing. I've dodged a bulletin. Um No so you're really have the dudes thing to do. It's a bank robber. That's like when I ran outta here with a bag of cash drops because have my wallet and I think I left my phone to overthrow the trouble. Bullet actually feel really sad. That didn't get to rob this bank anymore. Sunglasses see them anywhere. Whole remember you buy so I just want the cash strapped to the cash so I think the unanimous advice to not send him whether he fucked up? He's flirting. He's stupid and his own way you don't deserve or he doesn't deserve to have photos. He's varying levels as of scorn that we've given him from calling him and agreed stocker back guide to a hopeless romantic jackass but none of them are good. None of it's a free pass. None of it deserves the news again. certainly not you can send him the Just a screen shot of a a few. PG rated text messages just pissed can just taking his laptop to the to the genius bar to the to to the nerd counter at best. Buy The next question is hey so I lost my facebook password. My girlfriend won't send me back. uh-huh what should I do. Actually the next question is kind of horny related. So do you guys have a guy's name that we can call this horn ball. Horny guy's name on Jimbo.

"By the year two thousand the the FBI had figured out the Cubans had a mole in the US government. And thanks to the decrypted messages. They had a few details about this person's sounds identity they knew the double agent was a high ranking official in intelligence they also knew of this person's travel history and they suspected did that he or she had a computer like the ones used by the WASPA- network this admittedly wasn't much to go on but for dia a counterintelligence investigators Scott Carmichael. It was enough by now. Four years had passed since he'd accused of being a spy the moment her name popped up as a potential double agent suspect he was convinced he'd been right all along on November number. Twenty seven th two thousand Scott requested permission to launch a full investigation into Anna Montas in coordination with the FBI. Hi this would be a long and delicate process but Scott was determined to see it through the Queen of Cuba would not escape him him this time as Scott and the F. B. I.. Launched Their investigation ANA was preparing to embark on her next professional journey. As as well she had just been accepted to a prestigious research fellowship at the National Intelligence Council located at C. I. A. Headquarters in Washington intesne. DC In this position. She would have access to more classified information than ever before. As soon as Scott I heard the news of honors pending job. Change his sense of urgency spiked. Not only was. He worried about the secrets she might share with the Cubans but he also feared that if she left the dia the investigation might be dropped. Scott's authority only extended to agency employees he he had to delay her reassignment long enough to get the evidence the F. B. I.. Needed to open a broad scale investigation Scott Coordinated Hawarden aided with his team at a few select higher ups to devise various pretexts for putting off on a start date ANA frustrated. Aided but not yet suspicious went back to life as usual. She stuck to her schedule at work and home. Investigators tailed her for the months without seeing a thing even a thorough search of her apartment turned up no incriminating evidence. The Queen of Cuba so good at covering her tracks that after nine months of Investigation Scott began to wonder if he'd made a mistake but his the team had one play left. ANA had a tote bag that she carried with her everywhere may be the reason why she kept it. So close was that it contained her spycraft materials. That seemed like a long shot but after almost a year of fruitless investigation it was all Scott Right and his team members had left on August sixteenth. Two thousand one forty four year old on. I entered her cubicle at eight eight. Am just like always. She placed her tote bag on the corner of her desk like usual then at ten. AM Some supervisors calder into a conference room. While they kept her occupied Scott and a few others slipped into on his cubicle and conducted a quick and stealthy stealthy search. They found a single slip of paper with handwritten codes that on a used to send messages by payphone. It wasn't much but it was enough using the decryption software. The FBI had confiscated from the WASP network. Investigators is decoded the numbers and determined. That ANA was definitely working with the Cubans. Scott it was exultant but he still wasn't satisfied. He now knew that had been betraying her country for years. He wanted to approve exactly what services she provided to the Cubans. The only way to do that was to allow on it to continue spying until they managed to catch her in the act with this plan in mind Scott had his team put everything back right where they found it so went on a return turned to her cubicle. She saw nothing amiss. She simply carried on with her day and went home at the usual time. In other circumstances ANA might have continued her undercover work for months or even years before Scott's team made their final move but September eleventh two thousand one change the trajectory of her and many other Americans lives forever. The nine eleven terrorist attacks were shocked the world and perhaps above all to the intelligence community. Who couldn't believe leave? They didn't see it coming. Scott Carmichael saw the smoke from his lower floor office at the Dia that morning but ANA had had a better view from the top story of the building. She saw dark clouds billowing from the Pentagon and from her years of experience she probably knew. This didn't bode well for her. The attack represented a horrific failure on the part of the intelligence community agencies. Sees would soon be cracking down. Which meant ANA would be an investigator sites yet again? Perhaps that's why. She went on on alert within the next few days. She suspected that she was being followed. She wasn't sure by whom but she sensed it was only a matter of time before four. They made their move as the smoke cleared on the. US prepared for war. Ana was once again faced with the decision. She could flee use her fake passports to make her way into Cuba to safety among her friends or she could stay and keep fighting for the cause. 'cause she'd chosen ten years ago even at the cost of her own life the mere fact that she considered continuing continuing under these circumstances suggest that Anna may have suffered from a martyr complex. According to psychologist Dr Ursula sandner mergers mergers are typically willing to sacrifice anything for others. They tend to feel that if no one needs them they have no value and they often exaggerate their importance in group efforts believing that if they were to stop participating the endeavor would fall apart given these qualities ladies and her past behavior. It's not surprising that ANA decided to stay. She later said she didn't WanNa give up on the people she was helping but chances this is our she couldn't bear to think they might be all right without her. On September twenty first two thousand one Ana arrived at her office and started work as usual but at ten fifteen. Am She got a call from a supervisor saying that there was a problem with one of her subordinates. Ordinance he didn't have time to deal with it so he needed on to come down to the office and take care of it for him on. A readily complied when she reached the office however she didn't find a beleaguered colleague instead she found two members of Scott Carr Michael's investigative of team. She was under arrest like always ana kept her cool. She claimed her right to remain silent and asked for or legal counsel. A female officers searched her and then the team let her out of the building in handcuffs on was so quiet that most of her colleagues didn't even look up as she went by word of the arrests. Got Out soon enough. Within a few months Cuban officials began to acknowledge the loss of one of their greatest intelligence assets. Although Fidel Castro himself made no public comments laments Foreign Minister Felipe Perez. Roque wrote an email. I feel deep respect and admiration for Ana Belen Montanez. She acted compelled by ethics and an admirable sense of justice in the United States. However many of those who knew Ana were were devastated her coworkers were shocked to learn that the Dia Star was actually a hardened criminal? Her Siblings Lucy A. and Tito were humiliated by the revelation that their own sister was a traitor. They feared they'd lose their jobs at the FBI. Fortunately Senate lead. This didn't happen but to ANA it didn't seem to matter either way. She didn't apologize for her actions nor did she feign innocence since she simply said about handling her arrest with the same precision as her double life. She hired the same top up notch. Attorney who had defended. CIA Spy Aldrich Ames fifteen years before the lawyer worked out a deal. ANA would plead guilty feet to one count of conspiracy to commit espionage and serve a twenty five year sentence in the fall of two thousand. Two the forty-five-year-old Queen of Cuba was officially deposed but in her sentencing on October sixteenth on a spoke defiantly in in defense of her crimes. She said I engaged in the activity. That brought me before you because I obeyed my conscience rather than the law. Aw I did what I thought right to counter a grave injustice in the eyes of many this is exactly what makes on on a montage as such a dangerous criminal more than fifteen years have passed since she was escorted to a federal prison but ANA has has yet to express remorse for betraying her country. She scheduled for release in two thousand twenty three as for what Ana will do with her freedom. Only time and very close observation will tell.

She resolved to do everything she could to protect the oppressed. Even if that meant committing treason he said this week. We'll see how on I embarked on dual careers as an undercover Cuban intelligence agent and a superstar analyst in the the US Department of Defense will discuss how on his own sister secured key evidence that eventually put the FBI on her trail as as investigators closed in on a had to decide whether to run or to go down. Fighting Ana Belen Montas began her career with the Defense Intelligence Agency or DIA on September birth thirtieth nineteen eighty five. She was hired. As a researcher justice she had in previous occupations. The twenty eight year old quickly impressed asked her superiors within months. She was promoted to intelligence analyst specializing in El Salvador and Nicaragua in this position. Shen on a reviewed information about these countries from field agents law enforcement and other sources she would then make recommendations to policy makers and military officials based on her analysis of the intelligence. The work itself was mentally demanding. Attempting to spy for the Cubans wins on top of. It was extremely risky. If ANA was caught she could be arrested and charged with conspiracy to commit espionage or or even treason but the twenty eight year old. Didn't hesitate to dive in. She was convinced that with organization and discipline she'd be able to handle it on a started her double life by establishing a routine one that she followed religiously for the next sixteen years on a typical day. She woke up early and commuted from her. Two Bedroom. CO-OP in the Cleveland Park neighborhood of Washington. DC to her office at the DIA. She arrived in her cubicle at eight. Am Sat down and immediately went to work. She spent the next several hours analyzing data writing reports and attending meetings then. She broke for a quick lunch. Usually she grabbed a salad or soup from the office cafeteria and took it back to her cubicle. There she kept working until around five PM at which point she went home. Rarely stopping to chat with anyone on her way out on his machine. Like habits and apparent disinterest in socializing soon made an impression on her colleagues some thought she was just too focused on work to think about anything else. Others considered her arrogant and standoffish. But there was more going on beneath the surface than on us. New Co workers realized. She'd you've been dedicated to working hard her entire life yet. She'd also found time in the past to make friends now. She couldn't do that without putting her permission or herself. At risk before we delve into honors psychology. Please note that I'm not a licensed psychologist or psychiatrist. kyw interest but I have done a lot of research for the show in an article on the mental impacts of undercover operations psychologist. Dr Laurence Miller are noted double agents knowingly and purposefully develop relationships that they will eventually betray many officers. Find this the difficult road to walk adding to the stressors of undercover work. Miller's comments were about agents working on the right side of the law but it's likely that ANA experienced similar inner conflicts. She may have decided to cut people out of her life simply to reduce the anxiety of having to align to those she cared about at the very least having no social life helped on a perform her secret job without interruptions each night when she got home from work she retyped the classified documents she'd memorized in the office that day on a computer computer provided by Cuban intelligence she then saved the files on floppy disks. which could be easily slipped into her tote bag and delivered to to her handlers later once she was finished with the documents on turned on shortwave radio she'd purchased at a local electronics store? She tune the radio two am frequencies seven eight eight seven kilohertz and waited. At first. She got nothing but static then in the middle of the night when most of the city was asleep on a heard a woman's voice fade in. The speaker rattled off a list of one hundred fifty apparently random numbers which on a promptly keyed into her computer later once the transmission ended on Arena preinstalled decryption program in a flash. The sequence was converted into a secret message just for her. This made all the intervening hours of loneliness worthwhile. Although Cuban intelligence didn't pay on for her services as they made her feel important they allowed her to choose what information to give them as well as when and where she deliver it most most importantly they treated her like valued member of the team for ANA who grew up in a home where her father's word was law being part of a collaborative collaborative effort was highly gratifying and according to psychologist Ursula 'em wilder that may have been exactly what her handlers intended handed in her essay. The psychology of espionage doctor wilder states that spy recruiters are trained to see weakness weakness in people who have access to valuable information. She explained agents spotting a vulnerable person may insinuate themselves into the situation Jewish and exacerbate the personal crisis handlers will then continue to manipulate. A recruited assets vulnerabilities to maintain maintain the person's long-term engagement in espionage intentionally or not the Cubans encouragement gave the inspiration. She needed needed to accomplish extremely difficult. Things from nineteen eighty six to one thousand nine hundred eighty nine. The young analyst was promoted half a dozen sometimes. She received multiple awards for her distinguished service and was entrusted with more and more complex jobs. Colleagues and supervisors. There's throughout the intelligence community regarded her as a leading expert in Latin American political affairs in her secret life Ana was is also highly regarded but due to the covert nature of her work. It's hard to say exactly what she accomplished. As a spy. However a development lament Nicaragua during her fifth year in action suggests a clue honest? Primary goal was always to help the Nicaraguan in people control their own destiny in nineteen ninety the nation democratically elected a new president apparently without influence from the US S.. We don't know for sure if the information that unprovided helped bring about this long-awaited change but we do know it. Brought the country's civil a war to an end leaving thirty-three-year-old Ana at a major crossroads her mission as she knew it was now over and that meant she had a choice to make she could either go straight putting an end to this risky detour in her career or she could find a new objective objective thereby recommitting herself to a life of crime for some. This might have been a tough decision but ANA barely even hesitated. She knew the. US had political objectives for Cuba and considered them a threat to the island's sovereignty. Just like she had had for Nicaragua on a now dedicated her life to protecting the smaller country from its bullying northern neighbor in nineteen ninety. The two thirty five year old ANA was accepted to a program that allowed her to study a project of her choice on the government's dime. She used it as an an opportunity to travel legally to Cuba. She spent twelve months in the nation. She was secretly working for aside in February of Nineteen Ninety. Three her new expertise earned her yet. "This episode features discussions of mental illness violent crime and terrorism that some people may find disturbing listener discretion is advised especially for children under thirteen in March of nineteen ninety four thirty seven year old government government analyst Ana Belen Montanez walked into an office in the Defense Intelligence Agency to take a polygraph exam. This wasn't wasn't just a routine test of few weeks earlier. The intelligence community was rocked to the core when a longtime CIA employee was was arrested for espionage now agencies across the board. We're on a mission to root out other traders in their ranks and and after nine years of spying for Cuban intelligence on a Montanez was exactly the type of person they were looking for her only hope of convincing the. US of her loyalty was to outwit the polygraph. Sitting down by the machine on a slipped. Tur- arm into a blood pressure cough. She waited patiently as rubber tubes were strapped around her chest with electric sensors to monitor her breathing and heart rate. Finally the examination began at first. The interviewer asked questions with obvious. Answers like do you you work for the DIA. But as the test continued the examiner delved deeper into honest past. This was a counter intelligence. It's investigation so the agency needed to know what ANA believed where she traveled and most importantly if she'd ever ever lied to them it took all her mental strength to remain calm and detached. If she passed the exam she'd be free to continue. Can you hear work as a double agent. If not she would be outed as an international spy imprisoned and possibly executed feuded.

"Eventually early on I did. What just about any other twenty-something with big earnings would do in this situation? She went back to school in September Moore of nineteen eighty to twenty five year old ANA enrolled in a graduate program at the prestigious Johns Hopkins University for the next two two years while working. Full time at the DOJ ANA also attended classes toward a master's degree in advanced international studies as she decided to focus on Nicaragua a small Central American country in which the US currently had major interests. It's back in nineteen seventy nine. The year after on a graduated from college. The civil war in Nicaragua came to a dramatic climax axe after more than a decade spent fighting military dictator. Honest Assia Somoza the Sandinistas. A group of left-wing rebels manage to drive him out of power on a considered this a victory for the Nicaraguan people and as far as she was concerned the Sandinistas. This were heroes. But the United States government disagreed the Reagan administration strongly opposed the Sandinistas Communist politics techs and they used various tactics including illegal arm sales to try to remove the Sandinistas from power. As FARZANA was concerned. This was bullying pure and simple. She was incensed at her country's decision to meddle in another nation's war not to protect the helpless but to advance its own interests and she wanted everyone to know how she felt about it during her years at Johns Hopkins honest spoke out against. US policy decisions on Nicaragua. She wrote papers. This gave speeches and joined protests on behalf of the Sandinistas despite the fact that neither she nor her ancestors were Nicaraguan and on a took up the cause of the oppressed just as she had when she wants wanted to defend her helpless siblings against her father. Other however in May of Nineteen eighty-four the twenty seven year old activist was temporarily sidelined by some frustrating news from from the university. Despite all odds working a fulltime job ANA had completed her coursework at Johns Hopkins but she was unable able to pay off the last few thousand dollars that she owed for tuition as a result. Johns Hopkins was refusing to grant her a degree agree to a hard working and passionate advocate of the people. This too must have felt like an abuse of power after all on ahead already paid tens of thousands of dollars to the university clearly. They didn't need the money in her view. It was just one more example of the powerful taking advantage of the week on. Oh wasn't having it. Instead of bowing to Johns Hopkins. She simply blew them off. She began applying for jobs in the summer of Nineteen eighty-four stating that. She had a a master's degree. Technically this was untrue but as far as ANA was concerned the lie was completely justified. mm-hmm while she was busy looking for her next move on a met fellow Grad student. Marta Rita Velazquez Twenty six-year-old old. Marta had heard on a speak about Nicaragua and was impressed by her views. She had some friends who needed help. Translating Nicaraguan News articles goals from Spanish to English and she wondered if ANA was willing to help ANA readily agreed. She started meeting up with Marta regularly. Clearly chatting about the many things the two women had in common they shared Puerto Rican roots both held government positions. Marta worked for the US Department of Transportation as an attorney advisor and both were passionately interested in Latin American politics with with a strong dislike of American foreign policy given how well the two women clicked. It's no wonder that ANA agreed to accompany company. Marta to New York City to meet a friend for dinner in December of Nineteen eighty-four and it's also not surprising that ANA trusted at this acquaintance of martyrs implicitly. What did come as a shock to on at least was that the person she met that evening wasn't a friend of Martinez at all? He introduced himself as an officer of the Cuban Intelligence Service. Marta revealed that she was actually Salihi a recruiter for the agency and they wanted to engage ANA as a Cuban spy coming up. We'll see how the hard working straight laced on a Montanez trained to become a secret secret agent for Fidel Castro's regime now back to the story in December of Nineteen eighty-four. See Four twenty seven year. Old Ana Belen Montanez agreed to travel with her friend. Marta Velazquez to New York City to meet a friend end for dinner when they arrived however the man introduced himself to honor as an officer of Cuban intelligence over the course of a quiet quiet dinner the official convinced Ana she had a role to play on the international stage with her education. Work Ethic and high level security clearance. She could gain access to top secret information. And if she shared that information with the Cubans they could use. Is it to assist the disadvantaged people on cared so much about the Nicaraguans. This may sound like a bit of a stretch to the average urged listener but to ana it made perfect sense. She knew the Cubans supported the Sandinistas and they also had a history of standing up to the very people on a saw. Pushing the Nicaraguans around the United States government back in Nineteen fifty nine communist Revolutionary Fidel Castro toppled brutal us-backed dictator and Cuba in response. The Americans Americans had tried everything they could think of to remove the Communist Castro from power. They had even attempted to assassinate the leader by using poison pills and exploding cigars. When those and similar efforts failed the United States cut off all diplomatic and economic nommik ties with the island their intention was to isolate the Cubans until their need for outside help became so great that they would rise is up and overthrow Castro themselves? It didn't work twenty five years later. Fidel Castro was still president student of Cuba and to ANA that made him and his people heroes. She said Yes to the unpaid offer that very night. In December of nineteen eighty four Ana Montes who had never been to Cuba volunteered to become mm-hmm a Cuban spy it must have been strange for the twenty-seven-year-old to spend the holidays with her family that year. She just verbally committed to become an undercover agent. Putting her life on the line for people she'd never met. It may have been tempting to share her secret with the siblings. She'd once failed to protect but on a new that of all people her family must be the last to know about out her decision after all as an agent for a Foreign Government Ana and her family were now on opposite sides of the law coincidentally both on a sister Lucy and her brother Tito were embarking on new careers with the FBI. Lucy he was a language analyst in the Miami Office which meant that she monitored conversations of Spanish speakers under investigation. Ironically this included the large number of Cubans the very people with whom Ana had just aligned herself. The fledgling spy must have realized that to meet need her commitment. She was going to have to cut herself off from the world. Family friends and lovers would all have to be kept at arm's length. From this point forward honest number one focus would be her mission. It's important to note that. Despite her intentions ANA had no control over how the intelligence she provided would be used and though her goal may have been to help the Nicaraguans the Cubans could well have had other plans in mind after all her years studying foreign affairs and working for the Department of Justice on should have known this but if so she chose to overlook it a fact which suggests she had strong emotional mel reasons for becoming a spy. According to Dr Ursula am wilder there are typically three motivating factors behind a person's choice to commit espionage dysfunctions in the personality a state of crisis and ease of opportunity spies frequently gently have pathological features that pave the way to espionage such as thrill seeking a sense of entitlement or a desire for power and control troll at the time here. She initiates the espionage. It appears the logical decision to solve a problem. Ana had had been banging her head against the problem of how to stop the US from bullying other countries for years and after her turbulent childhood she certainly may have felt a need for control. Perhaps these two factors were so overwhelming that they caused honor to overlook the reality that she was committing a crime for people. She didn't really know. Of course. Deciding to spy is only the first step and honest still had a a long way to go. After the holidays she went back to work at the DOJ her attention divided between her job and thoughts of her undercover cover. Future and as the New Year unfolded. She made plans with Marta to go to Cuba for training. This was easier said than done done back in one thousand nine hundred five travel between the. US and Cuba.

US Department of Justice Ana was unable to pay off her tuition wishes fees as a result. The university was now threatening to hold her degree hostage. And as if school work and money problems weren't enough the twenty-seven-year-old Grad student had world affairs weighing on her mind. She was worried about the war in Nicaragua. Leftist revolutionaries there were under attack by anticommunist. CONTRAS backed by her own country's government ANA was furious at the US for intervening in Nicaragua in her view. America didn't care about helping the people they were simply there to promote their Own Interests and as a result innocent Nicaraguans were dying for months on had been speaking out on the problem in class and writing about it in academic papers but nothing changed between her country's refusal to back off the Nicaraguans and her schools schools insistence on withholding her degree it seemed to the beleaguered student that bullies always got their way but then one day ANA was approached by a fellow student. Martyr Rita of Alaska's. Marta hurt on a speaking on. US policy let's see in Nicaragua and felt they had a lot in common. She asked Ana if she would be willing to meet a few friends who needed help. Translating News articles from Spanish to English ANA readily agreed. She was eager for an opportunity to help the less fortunate but as it turned turned out. Marta so called friends were actually Cuban intelligence and they had a much bigger job for ANA in mind..

"Ana now excuse me I climbed the north mountain survived a frozen heart in safety from my ex boyfriend so you know I'm coming a handful of other new movies came in ahead of expectations like knives out are you dating detect attempting to be thorough as we can figure out the manner of death you mean if someone killed clean slim right now are you sure it's so let's talk about the movies that did surprisingly well you mentioned dives out Ford verses Ferrari has also done pretty well queen and slim did pretty well even though it wasn't and nationally wide release that seems like an important development because so much of Hollywood's releases are sequels and prequels and knock offs how important is it that original movies did as well as they did exactly and especially over the holidays this is a time where studios tend to release these all audience tent poles last year we saw movies like rouse breaks the internet from Disney creed to fantastic beasts the Grinch all of these movies are either from big franchises or they're based on very well known I. P. and this year there were still movies that attracted a wide range of audiences but it was leaning more towards original content and that's a really reassuring sign for studios to show that all franchises like frozen are definitely big draws audiences still want to see something fresh something different something they haven't seen before and there were still willing to go to movie theaters to see it I want to talk about the overall numbers because even with this good thanksgiving weekend the year to date box office is a little bit I went like six or seven percent behind last year is that a real concern among Hollywood studios right now exactly it's about five point five percent behind last year and there's still a few big movies to calm there is did you Maggi sequel and there is the last Star Wars movie in so those will hopefully help make up that deficit comparing it to last year's a little tricky just because last year did set a record there been a couple movies that have had that limited theatrical runs I'm thinking of the Irishman the Netflix movie to we know where all what that business has been are they reporting or is it more a question of Netflix buying theaters and selling tickets so we don't really know at the box office grosses are right so we don't know what the box office grosses are for these movies that Netflix is putting on feeders and the cabbie out there is because they weren't able to agree with major theater chains on an exclusive window to play this film the Irishman's not playing in most theater chains so it's only screening in about a hundred theaters compared to something like frozen or even knives out where those are screening in three four thousand theaters and so to compare the box office grosses it's not really possible but then on top of that Netflix doesn't really provide a metric there we're talking with varieties Rebecca Ruben about box office given the performance of movies like Ford verses Ferrari beautiful day in the neighborhood knives out queen and slam is that gonna be noticed by the studios will they see that more as an anomaly or proof that audiences are actually interested in original stories absolutely I think that two studios it shows that people are interested in original content and what's more notable is that these movies don't cost as much money as your frozen's and your Avengers and your Star Wars is so we need movies like this to be able to turn a profit to even out these big temples that are bigger swings for studios and so they certainly want to find a movie that they can put out to make an easy process and that's what you have these mid budget movies for I think it's also probably important in terms of movie goer choices that queen in slam beautiful day in the neighborhood Ford verses Ferrari knives out all got really good reviews in fact a lot better than frozen to our critics driving some of this business I think especially with older audiences the reviews and positive word of mouth does drive a lot of attention and so when they hear you've got to go see this movie in theaters it's so creative it's so funny it's so fun something like knives out it's it's something different than that switched having the conversation and that's what's getting people to go see these movies so I want to ask you about the end of the year there is a Jumanji sequel coming out December thirteenth and then on December twentieth we have Star Wars the rise of sky Walker I assume both those movies are gonna be huge but also around Christmas we have little women predator wigs adaptation of the Louisa may Alcott novel in nineteen seventeen Sam Mendes's World War one drama given that some other original films are doing well is there are expectations that little women in nineteen seventeen could succeed also definitely and I think both theater owners in studios are kind of hoping that with movies like little women in the mix it's going to appeal to a wide range of audiences because what these original movies it's instilling a little bit of confidence in movie goer showing that studios are putting out quality movies right now and so the hope is that over the holidays after using your Star Wars in your Jumanji you'll go back to see movies like cats in nineteen seventeen Rebecca Rubin is a news editor at variety where she writes about the box office Rebecca thanks so much for coming on the show thanks for having keep up with entertainment industry news be sure to visit variety dot com coming.

"You could've just said hey affects our sovereignty and left it at that and pretended that it had a real legitimate reason you're you're so dumb like your buddy. Donald trump that you know my my daughter. My six year old daughter has l._l. Doll that cries and as water coming coming out of its name one boss and are i'm going to name the other one trump and so they're like yeah. I'm going to hurt the people and the planet because of my precious just little feelings pathetic so they are sensitive trump in bolsonaro and they do have other similarities. Both of them are insecure because because both of them are illegitimate right as leaders so with trump i mean he won the electoral college so in our context he's not illegitimate but he is very sensitive. The fact that he lost the popular vote three million more people voted for his political opponent and he's incredibly sensitive about that now when it comes to bolsonaro he he is definitely illegitimate because he had his political opponent who was pulling in the eighty percent mark during during the election he had that person in prison under completely false nonsense charges right and glenn greenwald excellent reporting has really shown own how the judge in the case <hes> was working with bolsonaro in order to imprison lula de silva who was leading in the polls. He's still in prison today. Both criminals trump they should both be the reason why they're so insecure and insensitive is because they know they know who they are what they are and that they i don't really have the majority of support in their own countries now with that said though <hes> bolsonaro also is the main reason why we're seeing <hes> these fires in the amazon so for instance the space agency the brazilian space agency had put out images that showed what the <hes> rainforest look like <hes> from <hes> from space and they found that there was a two hundred seventy percent increase in deforestation nation and it's because of boston are rolling back regulations that would protect the amazon now. What did he do. He fired the head of the agency. Just like trump trump would do you dare cross him. He's going to fire you. One other thing trump has an impact as well because trump through this trade war created a situation in which countries countries who imported soybeans from america are now looking for other growers other countries to work with and so you know bolsonaro did he's like go go ahead and clear out the forest start growing soybeans..

"You guys make believers out of me because i wasn't sure we were going to raise <hes> twenty. Let alone seventy six let alone one hundred it goes so what makes it awesome lasting on this is that it's people powered when we go go to folks folks. We're hey listen man. This is both the idea of the audience their demand and they're not playing. They put up a significant amount of cash to make at this happen. That is compelling. That's really compelling than what i'm gonna do not show up and so you are all of our power and that's that's why we say together. We're too strong and it's absolutely true we provided at outlet and you guys provide the strength and the power that makes this possible and i'm telling you right now now with this money we're going to be able to make something great happened with more. It'll be even better and give all of us more strength this progressives so let's go get him all right <hes>. Let's get to the news <hes> i. I want to start off with cuomo so yesterday. There was a poll out indicating gating <hes> that both bernie sanders elizabeth warren are tied at the top of the pole. When it comes to democratic candidates for president <hes> they're both pulling a twenty percent biden in pulling at nineteen percent which means that they're at a statistical tie but the big takeaway was that biden lost a considerable amount of support among various groups or or demographics within the democratic party <hes> including democrats who consider themselves moderates and conservatives so <hes> i was invited on the cuomo almo show a cuomo prime time in order to debate this with ana navarro so anna navarro <hes> is representing the moderate democrats. I'm representing progressives and an interesting topic came up in the middle of this conversation. I'm just showing you. The part that i think was the most fiery i guess <hes> without settled. Take a look the game will you get behind joe biden. I want trump out so i do agree that it's important to support <hes> no. I'm not back loaning it. I mean i did not like hillary clinton as a democratic candidate but when push push came to shove the right thing to do was to vote for her and that's what i did even as someone who lives in california who could have very easily casted a protest vote but let's let's cross that bridge when we get there from it long way we are. We are a long way from it but i i just wanna quickly. Talk about or answer the question about who would be the best challenger injure to donald trump. I mean look buttons got to figure out which state he's in first before before he talks about fighting donald trump. I mean he's campaigning in new hampshire. He thinks he's he's in vermont. He's had one gaffe after the next after the next and biden has this habit. I think you see this with a lot of established establishment democrats. That's where he thinks he can work with the right wing and compromise with the right wing. I think that establishment democrats are really missing the point. We don't want someone on who's going to concede to the right wing. We wanna fighter. We want someone who's gonna make the republican party bend to our will because we've been conceding to their side ride for far too long far too often and that is created the type of political climate and the political situation. We're dealing with today so and that was amazing raising job but i i i gotta credit chris cuomo one more time and i'll tell you why because on that same <hes> c._n._n. Network over the last twenty four hours <hes> we had jeffrey toobin. Come out and dismissed. I pulled it was referring to as a rinky-dink poll and then harry anton came out and he he said oh. It's an outlier. He's screaming t._v. Normally he's just very calm. Put the numbers guy comes out. Hey joe by leading. Everybody's happy right now. All of a sudden for the first time i'm joe by leading and he's like screaming into the camera like no. This is an outlier. We ignore the spol- ignore those poll okay. Hey take it easy..

Why is the first one different. Why do we wanna do well. First of all. We want to do a debate so we're gonna try like hell the debate to happen for them to be on the stage at the same time i explain the longer plan <hes> yesterday on the program <hes> secondly. I think we're gonna get some killer moderators so hold for the moderators. I think that could be amazing interesting fascinating and already great news god i love t._y. T. nation <hes> so one of our viewers. It looks like got us an enormous venue it in l. a. for free okay all right shoulder no-show syria you okay. Let's see how plays out but it looks amazing and you guys are wonderful wonderful. <hes> we said well we raise one hundred thousand dollars <hes> then we can make this thing happen. Now mind you normal debates out hallsberg the c._n._n.'s the world are at least one to two million dollars so at one hundred thousand dollars we get more or great. It looked better etc. I can give you some of the details on the cost later but anyway hundred thousand was still considered an outlandish number. Of course i said we'd get twenty thousand in the first twenty four hours that would be amazing <hes> and it would show that we're serious and and get people to <hes> think of very serious about participating okay so did we get twenty thousand in the first twenty four hours well. There's like an hour and a half left because we announced that late show yesterday <hes> we didn't get twenty thousand thousand <hes>. We got a lot more so we got twenty. Thousand in the first half hour in asia should be okay. What do we have so far. Seventy six. You guys are out of control these amazing two thousand five hundred twenty seven individual individual donors. I think the average is around thirty. Two bucks people are chipping in <hes> so <hes> so this thing is going to happen. It's amazing so so already on day one. We know what's going to happen number. Two we got an hour and a half. Can you put us over the top. Let's get to andrea thousands. I'm saying it's going to happen because i'm convinced from you. Guys <hes> that that we're going to get a hundred thousand we do have to get to that and then we can see hey can we can. We actually make this look great. <hes> and who wells can we get to participate the more research you have the better you can make it both stylistically but also substantively so let's keep going t._y.
