And so I just went to Twitter because I wanted to see Tina Fey and Amy Poehler is opening monologue Man that is tough to do when you're on a split screen. It was a challenge. It was okay. It's just It's just better when there's a crowd and you're standing next to the person that you're ping pong ng you're riffing with. They're not always riffing, obviously, but But you're bouncing off what happens in the room. You take the electricity in the room, and then you play off of it, And it's just a real challenge. The host something Like that. Tina Fey was in New York and Amy Poehler was in Los Angeles. And then they were doing. You know, they got some some funny lines and it was like it was tough. I could see how if those two there at the top of their game if they can't deliver Great monologue, and they can't It's just technically so challenging because there's a little delay issue And who knows what else? They worked with that nice, but they had lots of other technical issues throughout the evening. From what I understand from what I read, it's It's hard to hold on audience for very long. So back to the MBA, I went or whatever. Dr Seuss obviously making a lot of news again, and this is not a new charge. I mean, people have brought up the trouble with Dr Seuss books in the past. It's just we're going through this reckoning cycle. This this revisiting so many things in our culture, and in some ways it's the period of overcorrection, but that tries to bring some balance for the wrongs in the past. And so people are finally saying, You know, we don't need this anymore. We don't need that anymore, Whatever. And it's six of the Dr Seuss books, and there's a zillion of them. Because of the various things you've heard about the news. I just found this interesting, too, though. Because everybody wants to Keep everybody wants to put on their best face all the time, and there they get on they they trashed somebody online and carry on about this or that or whatever. It's like, well, we don't have to go back to the 19 thirties and look at Dr Seuss books and pretend like the people in 19 thirties should have said, Well, this stuff right thing. You're doing it again and with 2021 lenses. And then Trying to completely destroy anything that was That was in play. 80 years ago. It seems pretty innocuous, but I found this bit of audio. Pretty incredible. Here is Barack Obama five years ago, talking to his interns in the White House. He would do a Q and a with his in terms of looks like there's about 100 of them all lined up there and their adoring him..

Leon rose it could be an intriguing prospect. It's interesting because i think a lot of people felt like this is just the latest iteration right. You've got a player agent. You got worldwide west. Hollywood Won’t Quit the Golden Globes, Despite No Black Members and a Corruption Scandal
"Maybe this'd year's awards ceremony is wrapped in controversy because of the composition of the Hollywood Foreign Press Association, The Hollywood Foreign Press Association is the group that gives out the Golden Globe Award. Unlike the Academy Awards, which are given out by the academy that's about 6000 people. The Hollywood Foreign Press Association is about 90 people, and they're all reporters. There, guys like me, men and men and women like me reporters that cover entertainment and they're the ones that give, you know, decide and give up The Golden Globe awards, but The controversy is here that it was learned that not a single member of the Hollywood Foreign Press Association astonishingly is a person of color. And you know that may account for why movies like the Five Bloods the, uh, movie about my rainy my Rainey's black bottom. The movie about cash is playing Sam Cooke and This meeting of this four legendary black leaders of the sixties. Why why all these movies that are black oriented movies were not even nominated. When? In fact, they're some of the best movies of the year, you know, So there is a lot of controversy about this Golden Globes being exclusively white. S so you know, we'll see how that's gonna play out if if it does at all tonight. Amy Poehler and Tina Fey are
Trump's tax returns and related records turned over to New York district attorney
"I want to move on and talk a little bit about the tax issue and the tax returns. The court ruling could be handed over to the state of New York and and Cyrus Vance, the A G o. It was the prosecutor in this case. Looking into the President. Trump has taxes, his finances, etcetera, etcetera. You're working on that case. Look, I don't know anything about it. I've never seen his tax returns. But from knowing how businesses are run, I doubt there would ever be a billionaire, or frankly, any wealthy person whose taxes would look good. Unless there's a W two and unless somebody's an employee, and unless there are no no deductions available, I would imagine it would be more complicated than the average person's tax returns. Number one and number two. I would imagine that the president Then private citizen, Donald Trump probably hired the best accountants and lawyers available and they were the ones that filled out the taxes and not him. Well, I could tell you this I mean, 45th president. United States did not go down to meet with the local enough No disrespect, Agent or block. Actually, they do a lot of work, but he didn't go down to the local agent are blocking. Sit down and say here, my W two than he lets on my tax return. You're actually corrected. Tax returns are from a business and from his personal Work, which includes media real estate. Real estate tax returns are complicated by nature. He had expert CPS. He had expert tax counsel that prepared the returns. I'm not concerned about the returns we fought, we fought it. During while he was president. We did not think it was appropriate. To be able to seek those records. At least not unless they could show a special height. Need to justice is actually four justices would have agreed with us on height need. I suspected we had Amy Barrett. Now she probably would have to. I don't know that But it wouldn't matter because now the 45th president is the former president. But Come out strategy standpoint, I'm not gonna discuss trial strategy, and I don't think these are going to trial but from a litigation strategy or case strategy when you defend tax cases used the tax returns to defend your case. So this is not complicated. The tax returns may be complicated, but this is not a complicated defense. You know, the president does make a point. I mean, I'm not sure if you followed Merrick Garland's hearing yesterday, but he e mean seemed like he didn't know never picked up a newspaper to may and didn't knows much about anything and wasn't even willing to commit to keep in the dorm. Investigation. Ongoing. We now have a smoking gun email appear. James committed Jim Clapper and in that, he acknowledged, And this was the day that he signed the sex and second Fiza application. Is the first renewal application subsequently signed a third application three of the four and admitted that he was not able to verify The veracity and truthfulness of what we now know is the bunk, which is Hillary's bought and paid for dirty. Russian disinformation dossier, which raises the question of fraud before a FISA court in my mind that seems like a slam dunk. Am I wrong? No, I think I think you're right. I think Merrick Garland has a as a judge. It's a good reputation and former Justice Department official as well. I'm sure he's going to get confirmed. Hopefully, he will apply the law to the fax is that sky is that kind of reputation? He's not an Eric holder in my view at all and again, I think that this is Look, when you have an election go the way it went, however, it went there. The fact is they get to pick their nominees. And while there's already been some objections on others, I don't expect to be much objection. There will be a party line. Objection, but I don't think will be overwhelming. Yeah. You know all these legal issues that the president has dealt with the weed? You know, the president uses the term witch hunt in so many different ways. Look at what this country was dragged through. For three years. You were you were part of following this entire Russian witch hunt. You were involved in everything involving you. You lived for three years. You You lived the first impeachment trial. You know when a quid pro quo when it was only one fact witness Only one it was all based on not even a real whistle blower. But I hear, say, whistle blower, non whistle blower, and, you know everyone that testified was either an opinion witness. Or hearsay witness and nobody had any facts and the only real the only true witness said No, he didn't want to quit port pro or quo. Um at all. He said he wants nothing. He wants to make sure they're not gonna be corrupt and take that to the next level is thin. You got Joe bragging on tape that he leveraged a billion taxpayer dollars so they'd fire a prosecutor. That was investigating his son being paid millions with no experience. Yeah, well, look, I think the fact is that we beat back Bob Mueller. We beat back the first impeachment. We had good success and a lot of the Supreme Court cases. And the second impeachment, which we did not participate. And although we filed a brief with the Senate on the legality issue of whether you can teach the president no longer in office, which we took the position you cannot The president won these battles I He will win these other battles that he's as right now. But look they're trying to. I think it's pretty clear that the moves here are to try to disable him, so to speak. From being able to run again,
Senate Democrats move immediately to "Plan B" on minimum wage
"Trillion covert relief bill is heading to the U. S senate after the House narrowly passed it overnight. NPR's Amy held reports. Democrats are racing to get final approval before unemployment benefits expire for millions of people next month. The bill provides small business aid, rental assistance and $1400 stimulus checks. House Speaker Nancy Pelosi this legislation is transformative. Lifting 12 million Americans out of poverty. Daniel Prude Case Reflects Difficulty of Prosecuting Police in New York
"I wanted to ask you. Ben crump about another case that you're involved with and that's the case of daniel prude. This horrific killing almost a year ago in rochester. Major protests This week because a grand jury refused to charge any of the officers involved. Daniel prude's daughter to share. A prude appeared on cnn. In september calling for the rochester officers involved in the killing to be fired and charged with murder. This is what she said. I will like to see them be fired and charged with murder there. There's video footage of these people suffocating. My father my father was murdered by these police officers. There's no reason why they should be on a paid suspension. They should be arrested in. They should be try as the killers that they are and so now. This grand jury has refused to indict despite the the calls for the charges to be brought by. New york's attorney general letitia james whose office lend the investigation She said Most recently daniel prude was in the throes of a mental health crisis in what he needed was compassion karen help from trained professionals tragically. He received none of those things. Can you talk about the refusal to indict this regrettable that many times because grand jury proceedings are secret. We don't know what evidence was all for it About a prosecutor to the jurors and making their determination we must remember brianna taylor's case And michael brown and ferguson missouri. Case one of the rare instances will we saw the inner workings of the grand jury. We saw that the prosecutors put forth of very weak case and when you put four four week case to get a prosecution then you won't get the grand jury to decide amy. It has been said that a prosecutor can indict a ham sandwich because ninety nine point nine nine nine percent of the time when a prosecutor wants. An indictment are prosecuted. Gets an indictment oftentimes prosecutors. Because they have this symbiotic. Relationship with law enforcement will give greater consideration to police officers than the unknown african american or hispanic citizens that they have no relationship with when they go into a grand jury. Proceeding we saw so many times with throughout the country is historical where they were trying to establish off their as by saying well we presented a grand jury and the grand jury found no probable cause. Will we don't buy that. We know that's part of the intellectual justification of discrimination. That leads to the legalized genocide of black people in america. And that's why we have to have. Systemic reform changed intact coach criminal justice in america as we said at the michael brown graduated decision was announced. The whole system needs to be indicted other than that they will continue to kill. Black people with impunity

Visiting kevin feather line at his home. The kids meant the world to britney and she wanted us here. Kids and kevin said no part of the reason we wanted to do. The film was to to pull back from that frame and show you show you. What's outside of it. And one of the things we found is that she was going through a custody battle during this time. That following year after two hospitalizations brittany's father jamie assumed control over his daughter's estate along with an outside trust think people really know conservatorship as much as attention. It's gotten in recent months. I don't think people knew that it was weird for a young person to be under one. Let alone be under one for thirteen years. Thirteen years later the court mandated conservatorship. Still in effect denying the thirty nine year old control of her estate. Prompting the question. Why if britney through her lawyer though is asking that jamie. Her father not be a part of her conservatorship. Why does jamie then still insist on being her conservative. Jamie serves as britain's conservator. Because he loves her. He wants the best for britney. Jamie's attorneys say court documents. My client has informed me that she is afraid of her father adding she will not perform again if her father is in charge of her career. Can you explain why britney's lawyer is saying. She doesn't want her dad in charge of her finances anymore. Throughout twenty twenty brittany and her father had many conversations and in fact early on in the pandemic they spent two weeks with other family members. Hunker down in louisiana and they spend a lot of time together and in that time brittany never expressed those words to her father. She's never asked him to step aside. Why she then wouldn't just go onto social media and say hey guys. I don't need to be freed. Any time britney wishes to enter conservatorship. She can have her attorney file a petition to terminate it. She's never exercised this right in the past thirteen years. But for the of the freebritney movement like dustin strand the question remains what really is happening in britney's life tomorrow. We have our free pretty rally for years. Philadelphia Teachers to Begin Getting Coronavirus Vaccine
"An appointment to get the covert vaccines. Starting today and came out of use to me men as is covering this and he joins us now on Tim. How are the invitations going out? School district officials say the first group includes pre K to second grade teachers now in the district's reopening plans. They're the first two are scheduled to go back to the classroom through hybrid instruction also eligible with them. Our school staffers who have already been working in the buildings now back to that shift, a hybrid learning the district's original plan was for that to actually happen today. But instead that's been pushed back to March 1st next week. There's a delay because the teachers union said. Members should not go back to school buildings without being vaccinated first and for ventilation issues to be addressed. Health officials maintain that teachers being vaccinated is not a requirement for safe reopening. Now a mediator is involved to determine if the school district's plans are sufficient. But we've been waiting for that decision for weeks, and it isn't clear what that all means for that March 1st Target date. Now they're seven vaccination sites, including the Children's Hospital of Philadelphia, which is helping the district in this campaign to get teachers vaccinated. Life and the law with Amy E.

There and the relevance today sarah sure will you know for anybody who's here before the story thus far was that i invented a device that used mechanical vibration to block needle pain got a grant for it found founded. It also decreased other pain. Kinda did some work with needle. Fear needle pain and founded. Americans really didn't care that much. So that's why did the ted talks. That's why did the techs is to raise awareness of the fact that the way we are vaccinated kids causes adults to stay afraid of needles. But because i've got this company in this product i moved on to vibrate wall opioid stuff and all of a sudden needle. Pain is relevant again. Yeah well it is and It's a big deal today because we've got to vaccines available as of now. We've got one more coming with jay and more and more people are getting the vaccine. Many are not and so talk to us a little bit about your research love to hear more about it and how it is impacting people's willingness to get vaccinated sure. Well the go thing is that. I've actually been asked to testify or the art celts. New and services on needle. Fear and needle pain. It had never been an issue before enter. Probably wouldn't have been an issue if the strains of covid nineteen stayed the way they were if the are not if that transmissibility number was at two or even two point five we only would of needed sixty percent of the population to be vaccinated with the v. One one seven with the south african variants all of a sudden. Now you're talking about needing seventy percent seventy five percent of the relation to vaccinated the issue with that is it. Twenty percent of people said they're not getting a vaccine anyway know-how and this means that you need to start working on those people that may get one that not get the second one said. That's where all the sudden it became important to really look at needle. Fear needle dread fainting anxiety. Pain all these issues that may be enough of barrier to someone that they're not gonna get that second vaccine then they're only fifty percent covered or for the people who are gonna freak out and don't get the first vaccine not because they think there's conspiracy or not because they're afraid of the immune system in their body being co opted by space aliens lasers but because they just can't bring themselves to stand gang that
Cowboys' Dak Prescott Donates Meals To Help Feed the Homeless.
"Prescott. Okay, one more does this man have to fucking news his City for his City's football team to say, let's put a ring on it. You're our Jude. So Jack Prescott and Matthew McConaughey paid for homeless people to they basically felt homeless people during this entire Texas shitstorm ice storm that happened here 1000 meals to one of the local homeless shelter slash organizations that are feeding folks and keeping them warm. This is actually like a warming Center slash place for people to come and be fed. Yes, Jack Prescott and Matthew McConaughey joined forces and did this now I get it off. Granted I'm not going to be the asshole. It's like oh, well, if it's not public that means people don't donate not true at all. Who knows who else donated from that organization, but you think it would have leaked somehow right? I'm not going to assume nobody donated but it just doesn't look good publicly when there's other organizations locally on the sports side that are donating. Anyway, my point with that is what the fuck more does Dak Prescott home to do. I'm starting to get really fucking mad. I'm about to go up to the star or Preston Hollow or Highland Park or University Park or actual Cowboys stadium and beat it or down because your girl is fucking pissed at this point. Well, here's what sucks for you Jazz. The one thing have you seen my life since 2020. There's a guy there's a running list. There's a sticker of everything that's wrong with my life. That's at the bottom of the screen. Yeah. That is there's no debating whether or not deck is a nice guy. Clearly. We know that clearly we know he's as a fantastic human being home. A leader, but thank you. Amy. We're moving on does not does not mean that he's worth what ever he is trying to Garner from the Cowboys. They're not willing to pay him come at next in offsides. You can be a super nice guy, but it doesn't mean you're worth 4 million dollars a year. I'm unfollowing now on page on Instagram because of that comment. Anyway, we're going to move on to offsides cuz you going to disagree. Oh no. No, I think he is worth at this point. Oh, yes, she's going to sorry. I thought you are disagree. I'm sorry. I thought you meant agree my brains not working. Yes. I'm going to disagree him forty million because he's a nice guy. Yeah, that's what sports is all about. Nice guys. Finish
Restaurant workers may be eligible to get vaccinated by mid-March in Los Angeles County
"In the middle of some nom nom news. And this next piece is exciting. This comes out of eater l A, which we love and written by a buddy of ours who comes on the show. We need to get him back on Farley. Elliot is the editor and a great writer as well. It's a really neat guy and love of food like we do. So he writes about and this was back on the 12th. He was looking Forward to some of the information that was coming out about essential workers within the food and agricultural industry. So restaurant employees could begin receiving doses around the same time. You know, Mondo, Amy and I start receiving, which is mid March. So we're looking at Um, that changing as well. What does that mean? Well, that means we can see more openings. That means that we might have indoor dining again. Um, sooner than later the these things could be very powerful and very helpful. Towards not only the economy, but let's face it, You know, emotional strength, you know, find finding ourselves again in the community and interacting There is an uptick there has been an uptick in crime. There has been a no uptick in, you know, mental issues and stress and anxiety and all these things. These pressures that we've been taking on through all of this that we need. We need to release We need to do it safely. But we need to release and I think this is good news. So Los Angeles County continues to do these mass vaccinations. You've heard of closures in certain areas. Of course, with the intense whether that we're having, uh throughout parts of the United States. There's also issues with getting meds from one place to the other.
Demi Lovato Suffered 3 Strokes & Heart Attack After OD
"Demi levato is burying her soul and revealing. She suffered three strokes and heart attack when she overdosed in two thousand eighteen and her new documentary. Nothing is off limits. Take a look at this. I crossed the line. That i had never crossed. Are we talking about heroin. Are we doing the show. You at birth gun. Yeah snaps would. Cfc is she alive. People are gas bigger auction levels. Were dangerously low us. Oh you mean she to make it will watch all of her black. Come outisde party into a machine. She's like i can't. I can't see see him. I had three strokes. I had a heart attack. My doctors said that had five ten more minutes. Demi lovato dancing with the devil. Premieres march twenty third on youtube. I have to ask you guys. Do you think it's dangerous for demi to relive these moments are do you think it's kinda you know cathartic for somebody to go and relive this in front of the camera. I y- to be honest. It depends on the person you know. Somebody is ready to address that and they've worked through their trauma and they've done what they need to do to get them to a place where they can talk about it without feeling that poll. I think it's i think it's a great thing and also What did we hear that. She did it because she wanted to be held accountable by everybody. Who who saw it and knew everybody's been following her journey for so long. So i think i think she seems like she's in a really great place and that she has just really grown in her own and we all are on journeys so to allow her to do this. It's not my place to tell her how to share her story her story you. Can you stop someone who is at the top of their game. You know you're an artist you know When you're so high up on your game and you wanna do what you wanna do. Who is the person i think about. Amy winehouse materials you okay. It's time to stop. It's a mighty who's not on the payroll. That's the problem when you have your. And i hate to say this because i don't know what was going on behind behind the scenes but i see this a lot of times when parents are on the payroll our family members on the payroll the line between me being the manager in me being a mother. A father sister brother kinda sorta gets blurred. You don't want to stop the cash. But i will say and i know this from watching this preview. Is that an from my own life. Addicts are master. Magicians david copperfield. So when they want to hide something from you know how to do and she just explained in that in the longer preview that she's the master of hiding manipulation so a lot of times you don't know how bad it is because that person is gene races but you'd think that they can handle it also. I had a friend in the music industry. That was doing some things. And i didn't know how to stop him. I'm not on the payroll but you can say you would have to lock the person up. You would have to take them and take their hands and put them away. Yeah it to make them stop so it's a very difficult search. You and i are friends now. I'm going to be honest in the height of celebrity when when things were happening. When i wasn't on this show my fear would be if i call you out about something and tell other people that your career would be doom guilty for you know things leaking out and people finding out about your situation and how it can affect your bag and i know it's not about money but at the end of the day your careers your livelihood. So i did. I would be afraid to be careful when you can't want something more for somebody than they want it for themselves so if somebody wants to get better they're gonna they're going to get better and then you can just support them through it and you still get to support them in the ways that you can't but i wouldn't know how to think she's she's saying i mean she says she can't really seek Dr because affected her vision. She has brain damage. You think about this when you really look at it. You say you know what i was. I was skateboarding. And i broke my leg. Some people will go back to escape. You know what. I'm just happy that she feels like she is ready to share
"amy" Discussed on 4 Things with Amy Brown
"Maybe it means changing up your morning routines to not just rush into your work and emails but rather take time to sip on your coffee. Maybe it means taking a day off of work if you possibly can and really challenging what you refer to as a quote unquote waste of time recognizing that productivity is not defined by how much that we do but rather we can be productive by finding joy in little pockets of our life. So i know that it's harder to find joy in the big stuff with you. Know thanksgiving meals where i am at least restrictions on how many people can be here and all the things that we used to look forward to or being taken from us and rather than say. Oh this sucks. I think that we can open our eyes and expand into another dimension and say where else is there. Joy and i know amy's really good at helping us get there and for me. It has been recognizing that i still going to. Have you know a smaller thanksgiving meal at my house. And i'm still going to go all out. I'm gonna decorate the table and get lost in it and be kind of basic for lack of a better word because that is where the joy is for me doesn't need to be where the joy is for you but that's where it's at for me. Think about senses. And what soothes zoo versus. What stimulates you so. Think of a color that puts you at ease and maybe wear that color. Can you listen. two birds. Chirping or leaves crippling. Can you light a candle or snuggle. A soft blanket so thinking about things that you can touch feel see and hear can be really good for your nervous system letting it know that it's safe and you're taking proactive steps to allow the stimulation to come down. I also wanna remind you that very important to have intentional solo time so right now it's harder than ever to get that whether your home with kids for cova or your husband's home or your significant other's home or with your roommate every day but it's really critical to have time alone. It could be ten minutes. It could be twenty minutes to just emotionally process everything we can get so good at doing things for people in our lives that we sweep things under the rug and having time to allow the motion to come up to see the light of day to cry to release recognize. These things aren't bad they're human and they will allow you to show up as the better you. If you allow them to come to the surface an intentional solo time. By the way it doesn't have to be heavy. It could just be dancing having fun with yourself being your own hype man but just make sure that you get a little bit of solo time even if it's in the bathroom for five minutes so that's just about it. I want you to start to get to know what it feels like for you to be over stimulated because the truth is most of us and we know this from the last few weeks. We don't know it until it's too late. Were burnt out in our body showing a symptoms. So can you start to observe one. It's like to be in your body right now and start to really take inventory of what feels good. And what doesn't in my family one of our favorite holiday dishes to make his alabama mac and cheese. Yo it's a recipe that comes from my mom's side of the family and it is so good. My family loves gather around the kitchen and we cook together and with all the food that we make. We want to make sure that we have durable plates. So we use china classic white plates and platters..

Let's get back to. Today's guest, the incomparable Amy Cheryl D-, a woman, who's a brilliant painter with an amazing sense of color, and we're going to talk about that in her process and the whole story of how she went to the White House met with Michelle and Barack and ended up getting the Commission of a lifetime not long after she was broke Amy's also woman who's walking around with someone else's heart in her body. We're going to talk about that and she's also got a new heart figuratively by which I mean she's deeply love for the first time in her life and she lights up when she talks about it, we're going to get into all that and more. It's the legendary Amy Cheryl old on tour. So is that your last show? In Manhattan and there's this vine around the block of like. Especially Young. Black. And Brown people who? Many of them seem to have never been to a show before but like the Amy Cheryl show to them is like this is special and you have become this. ICON for these people who are like, you know I mean following the Michelle Obama painting like Oh my God. Amy. End NYC. How is that for you? Because you feel about like there's all these people who are coming into art for me like I'm a crossover star for a lot of these people. Yeah. I don't I don't feel like for me and I didn't know the line was out the door until afterwards it was so long and I somebody told me a pitcher and I'm like that was downstairs you know but I don't like it's. It's for me I feel like it's for the art. It's because people are hungry for it. You know what I mean. They're hungry to see themselves. In ways that they've never seen themselves And I do attribute. I can't I call it the Michelle Obama effect because she just has that effect on on everybody people love her and I feel like by default they love me and I just happened to make great work too. So that does makes it even better I. Think There's definitely an excitement at seeing a young black woman. Yeah. For sure making are being celebrated for it and they can understand the relatable in this reflecting. Yeah, it's loving. It's kind. And the vibe that night was all love you know for me to see young kids there was like really special. I. Think as I was walking around I was really excited to see five year old six year olds eight year olds that. They knew who I was and they wanted to take a picture with me and those were the most touching moments because. You know the Gallery said like we've never had this demographic in our in our space before. So that was probably the first time in the history of Howser and worth, and it's a global gallery so it was. A big deal and it's time it's time for that kind of stuff time for us to be in those spaces and to fill ownership and to be reflected on walls. And see ourselves and receive love back from those images. I love the work and I wanNA talk about the work and really dig into it, and one of the things that really leaps out is the color choices. It is so vibrant and. Yet not overwhelming. Can you talk about to some of what you're trying to do there. I. Everything that I do is intuitive. and. Try to do it is just what happens when I make the work you know so. I have an image in my head. I tried to find the right clothes and then figure out the background color and then everything kind of bills from there but you know. It's hard to explain because like now I work with With an assistant who helps me like mixing colors and stuff like that And the other day I was like I want this blue this particular kind of blue and I can see it in my head, but I can't communicate that colored to my assistant to mix, and so she mixes it and I'm like, no, that's not the right color. And so I ended up having to do it myself because I'm it's I'm very very particular about it and I can't explain it I just I can't explain it but I don't know whether you watch Do you watch the good place that? Of. Course. I love lives around the corner. Are you kidding me? So I see what to well. I, love him When They described color or taste I think. I think one of the flavors of the yogurt was like when your cell phone battery is charged. You know what I mean. Everybody knows what that feeling is like I feel like if I could describe my colors, it would be something like that and you know what I mean because it's an emotion attached to it as well and it's and I don't think I realized how specific it was until I had to work with somebody to help me and I say do this and they're like, nope, that's it's something that only I can do and yet. So the colors are vibrant and they really work on the eyes and get all the black people are this gray. Gray the same color over and over. Yeah. Why are you doing that? Story has changed over the past decade. So it starts off with because I thought it looked cool. It then graduated to. Later. You know because I'm not walking into the studio with a whole bunch of words in my head. It's like you make some work you look back at it and you have conversations with people on your that really make sense. So for me when I look back, it was because I was I think not wanting to work to be marginalized in a way that would Corner into a certain conversation about blackness and identity. and so I think I was struggling with that because I knew I was painting black bodies and I know black bodies or political and I know. Just because they're hanging in museum.

"amy" Discussed on Conan O’Brien Needs A Friend
"There and welcome to Conan O'Brien needs a friend This is the podcast we'll talk about this a little later, but this as it turns out is our final podcast of our second season, and we have an amazing guest today. She's hilarious. She's very funny I just want to point out that I talked to our guest. Amy Schumer before all of the chaos and. Emotional horrors, and convulsions that that followed the killing of George Floyd, and we are in the midst of intense racial division right now and anger and We're also that butted up against covert nineteen, and so we find ourselves in these very serious times, but I had this conversation with Amy Schumer who I love, and she's just hilarious and delightful, and we had this conversation before any. Of of the upheavals of the last week, so I wanted to make sure that we explained that to people and so I know there are a lot of us out there a lot of you out there that. Would or could use some laughter and could use some silliness, and that is what that interview provides, but I also wanted to be completely honest and say that We're taping this segment now. the heels of every thing that's happened over the last couple of days so. How are you guys doing, Sona, how are you? I'm okay I'm yeah. No, it's funny. No one's good. I ran into I saw friend of mine. This woman and I said. How are you and she said? I'm good and she had her mask on, and this is you know two or three days into the riots over George fluids killing, and she said I'm good. And then she just stopped in her tracks, and she turned to me, and she said I lied. I'm not good and I was like I know. It's a reflects to say I'm good. I'm I'm guessing you feel the same way. Matt Yeah I think so I'm sad. It's a sad time for our country in the people at the core of this struggler justice for George. Floyd black lives. They're like the best of the country right now so I'm trying to take some inspiration from it and. Let, it pushed me into something and to do something. I heart goes out to all of the people suffering yeah. Well we have this making comedy at this. Moment is a strange thing. It's a strange task and and at the same time I do think people should hear Amy Schumer be really funny, an awesome, and then after that. Maybe we can talk about. Where we are the end of the season. Does that sound like a plan all right? So when I was going to do it, whatever you, no matter what you said, plow ahead. Okay, just being A. IF we're being honest, you know you're you're you're okay didn't influence me one way or the other. Okay? Yeah, go ahead now and introduce. I. Have Your permission sonal. Please go ahead. Okay, you're allow. Today is an absolutely hilarious comedian as well as an actor writer and bestselling author. From the Emmy Award Winning Comedy Central Series. Inside Amy Schumer and the movies trainwreck and I feel pretty on July ninth. You can see here in the DOCU series. Expecting amy on Hbo Max Very Thrilled, but she joined us for this conversation. Amy Schumer Welcome Amy. No. We're going to start with. Where are you first of all I would much rather be doing this in person. That's my favorite part of doing the podcast I like people to smell me. That makes one of us. But we this is now this weird way of doing it, but it actually he's been working out fine. Where the hell are you okay as I've said in my text messages I'm not I'm not gonNA. Tell you where I am on. An years yeah, but where exactly I'll pin you. I'll drop you a pin. Okay, yeah, my husband grew up here and so we. We fled New York. Now you're on an island. This is where they send a dictator. That's misbehaved. Make they make him stay on an island. I like to think of it more as as people with leprosy. Okay, you're a dictator with leprosy. You've. Been Sent Atta identify. Does does being on an island. Add to the weirdness of the quarantine I think you're right I think it does I hadn't thought about that, but it's all very weird, and it's also weird to go from New York where I I mean Manhattan where I think they were like estimating twenty percent of everyone was going to have it or something like that right right and then come somewhere where there's been twenty. Twenty nine cases total but I think people are more afraid here than they were in Manhattan. which is you know So you know people were really freaking out here and we're like okay, but we're. You know we've been here for a couple months now, but we're like we just came from where it's really everywhere, but here it's like people walking around lake in like a hamster like humans hamster wheel. I'm like. Have you guys? Yeah, you want to say to them. We're on an island. We've all been here for a couple of months. No you know. Put the Covid can't afford the ferry it, can't it. It's not going to be. It's not gonNA be able to cough up to sixty five dollars to get over here and you know what happened on the ferry, so? Having New York plates If you drive anywhere out of New, York right now have New York plates. Everyone is sure that you have it in that you are on purpose like driving around to try and spread it, and so we are on the ferry. We've near plates. Pay To stay in your car. Because of New York plates where like Okay and I had to pee so bad. I. Everyone knows where this is going, so I, with our nanny and our baby, and my husband, and our dog in the car, I had to pee. In the car in like I peed in our dogs like portable, because I had to piece so bad and we were waiting, 'cause ferries kept getting canceled because of the weather. And like I didn't think. I was going to ever appear in a car in front of my nanny. I just didn't like plan on that and. And it just kind of kicked the trip off like. In a cool way like with a cool vibe, but I wanted to respect the stay in your car..

He shared this Acronym Lover L. O. V. E. R. can fell L. E. R. And I really like what each letter stood for. And it'll help you like easy acronym to have in your back pocket to help you be present during this pandemic and that was the title of the sermon. I think President Pool DEMOC and I don't know what faith you are if you're listening to this podcast but So this is from a Christian perspective but I think no matter what the these are good. What he shares is a good thing to have so. I hope you'll listen to and I just isolated the part where he talked about it from Youtube. And I'm playing it which I've done before and I think is allowed. I've done it for other things but I'll just shout out to Church of the city. You go all the credit. Obviously it's going to be his voice so y'all hear him once. You hear it in Australia talking. I'm not even doing an interview with them. I mean maybe maybe I should his name's John Tyson. He's the lead pastor and in New York and he actually had krona virus so and he he had it did he say his wife had it to the pastor in New York. Yeah I think maybe his wife had and they live in a tiny apartment in New York. Or maybe I'm getting stories crossed from other people who had it but it was. It was pretty. Why are you laughing? I now I should start now. I shouldn't I'm just GONNA go ahead and said the he say that he had colonel virus. Because that I can confirm no idea of his wife had it now that I think about it. That might be another couple that are thinking about so anyway. He's GonNa be on except for. He's not really a guest just pulled his voice from Youtube. And then yeah. I guess that's the four things today. Offer Great Very Lineup. And then before we got on here chased was telling me that. Are Y'all naming a horse. Radio Amy Yeah..

Steve made a phone call from his home at four forty three. Pm The same time as the alleged sighting. Additionally Steve Sprints confirmed his alibi that he had been rock climbing with them that afternoon in late August the FBI requested satellite photos from NASA of the area on the day of Amy's disappearance but the images provided no clues though. Investigators noted that there were gaps in Steve's activities that day with no physical evidence and nobody police could make no arrest. Amy's older brother. Neal's was angry and suspicious of Steve's refusal to take a polygraph the fact he won't take the test is a huge red flag. He told The New York Times. It's like cutting off another limb. Not only have we lost amy but now Steve is being cut off from our family. Neal's recalled an incident one night. When Amy Steve had come over for dinner Niels told police that he noticed. Amy Was Bruised. And that amy joked that. Steve could get rough sometimes. Amy just laughed. It off would not look me in. "One song it'd probably be that song so I showed up to work yesterday and sitting on my little desk was a note from Amy Grant yes and I know envy Amy Grant. It was my first concert ever like I love her to that. Yeah Mary and I have that in common with your kids and I which by the way speaking of this podcast. I have been actively working trying to get her on the PODCASTS. We've had some scheduling conflicts. But I do think coming in. Two Thousand Twenty is the amy amy episode the Amy Route and emigrant just got it just to clarify but I walked in and there was a note for me and it just said happy early Christmas and it was her like a Christmas album on vinyl. Oh that's cool Yeah so I don't know just when you said that amy grant would be your favorite favorite side. No maybe maybe I'll gift you that. Do you have a record player. I don't know I don't think I do. I think think what I moved now. I don't think I do. Oh Okay my mom gave me one of those little ones from like urban outfitters which I love and now my kids love to play records on it to sell okay. Let's get to our or four favorite things this little getting getting to know you segment with me and Mary were. We're GonNa talk about four things that we use daily and this little segment also doubles as Gift Gift Ideas. So my first thing would be yoga pants like I. I live in Yoga Pants all the time. Even if I'm not working out that's just what I always have on. And people often ask me my go-to brands and I love Lululemon wonder under the seven eighth link to be specific and I love him in black and you can wear them all the time you can wear them three days in a row you can wear them with anything. They're great and then also another Goto lagging is is the Komo spanks which Mary. I know you loved us do. Oh Yeah I love and I know those are definitely like you get less expensive leggings but I mean these last. I've had some of them for like six years and they last right like it's a good investment and I feel like a lot of stuff we share if it may not be like in your budget It stuff like we're like we get the everybody's operating on a different budget and yes outset spanks Lou. We're not saying that's the only brand of leggings you could again. I mean there's definitely other ones you can look into. These are our favorites and yes I will second that. I've had them for years and they last forever so look at it as an investment piece. That's it's why I think the black is good because black will always be fine and then the Komo is always a good print to My second thing that I would ed put on my list would be my hair wand which I am obsessed with Iran probably wanting my hair for. I don't know seven years now and it's how you you get that beach wave. Look before the one. I don't even know what my hair looked like hot mess. Probably I but a lot of times we get questions. How do y'all get those waves in your hair? And it's legit achieved with a wand again. You can find different ones. I think a one inch barrel is good. But we'll have these products addicts the specific ones that we use linked at radio DOT COM. You'll find the gift guide you can click on but you know I would just say a one inch hair one but the brand randall us will be linked and then my star Star necklace. which is our SPA thing? That's my third one Marian. I wear them like basically everyday in any of our friends that have on May wear them every day too. So that's a big compliment when you kind of have something that you really love and then you see other people wearing it too. And we partnered with able which is as a company based out of Nashville for that and Local women that have transitioned out of homeless lifestyle and like they're employed there and they helped make the necklaces so we love that are starless has a local impact and a global impact since it also supports Haiti. And then my fourth thing and this is definitely Pricey but oh my gosh I use this every single day and I have since the year I got it. Basically in two thousand and ten and it's a vitamix. I make smoothies. I make much a lot today. You can make soup especially especially now that the weather's getting a little bit cold like I highly recommend it in and trust me in something you want to buy for yourself. That's why it's a good gift and I don't think it's one of those things is where because you're a girl. If you like your husband gets you a blender you have to get all of they just like I mean I don't know anybody wouldn't be super pumped together vitamix like yes I since I've moved like four times since I've had it and I think I've had it for like eight years. I mean it still works just as good Jesse got it and I remember the Christmas I got it. My husband gave it to me like a month before Christmas because he was going to be in Afghanistan over for like Christmas Day so I got a month early and he went to bed bath and beyond. Here's a twenty percent off coupons so there's that And then also like well. Now they're more popular now so now they're target and there's other ways you can get it we'll have it linked like it's on Amazon like you. You will use this all the time. If you don't call me maybe I'll buy it back from you and give it to somebody. I don't know like it's just one of those things where I never would have spent that not much on blender but once you have one you realize how mazing it is and you're like okay fine and then yes it lasts forever. Okay so those are my my four things to get to know me and things that I use every day. What about you? Mary Okay so my first one is actually drinking from it. Right now. A Yeti Tumbler for save a bunch of different sizes and colors so I think it would be a good get girls or guys but I use it literally every day for a Lotta. I currently have ice. CNN because it keeps things hot or cold and it's also like acute and it's also like a little bit. I mean it's not like super pricy but it's like if you want to buy for yourself. It might seem like a treat. So it's I think it's a really good thing to get someone forget forget even if they already have one at new colors or something like that. Oh Yeah for sure My second one is air pods which also I literally awkward these things this morning already. It's pretty early so air pods which I don't know I use them all day. Every day I feel like they're game changer. actually I have like jaw neck issues. She's two and my chiropractor told me I should use them. Because it's really bad which I don't know it's really bad to hold your phone in between your your neck like that can mess up your spine and alignment and neck. We're getting old. I guess but I love. Air Pods My March along with well hold on the air pods. She has them in right now and I wasn't even thinking about it because I mean I can't even imagine. Mary has to deal with so many different things and has to think of things differently of like. Oh we're going to be recording a podcast for like an hour our because I was thinking hey mary beyond landline because it will probably sound better and then I was like oh shoot but would Arab pods better for your for your neck and your jaw area Syrian. She was like yeah I kind of. I don't think I could hold it up for an hour and so it is something to consider if you have issues that this is because air pods again n not necessarily the cheapest thing out there but a great investment especially now in a lot of places. You can't drive while talking on the phone so that way you can remain hands free and you don't have to worry about that but I mean more important your dog throwing on a jacket anything. It's like there's no cords in the way and all that yeah I feel like the neck issue alone it keeps your neck. Feeling good is reason enough for me. Okay what's next thing hopefully Our fourth toe the customizable which I use it literally every day? It's always with me at my car. I have my laptop in it just I always use it traveling. Do you have on your new latest one so I actually just got a new one which I'm excited about So what does it say. The one I got my current says tied died and then I got friends with like the Datsun between so it's like friends the TV show Sunny days and green ice tea so those are my. Everything's on one of my favorite things and then didn't you do of four things so customized because your family does like a white elephant gift and one year or the year before but I thought might be a funny idea. People need a white elephant gift for their family. Yes so my family does a white elephant gift every Christmas Eve with like our extended family. And it's always like it's like hilarious and fine and we have really fun family game so I did one said it said like Mary cool. Maria's awesome. Mary is the Best I love Mary. and then I and then I was like people thought it was pretty funny and actually my little cousin actually wanted it and she audit and she's which I think is hilarious but it was is more of Joe but like she's so he's probably like who's married. Well yeah but it was a hit at the white elephant and so I don't know that would be a funny thing to do or you can do. I've made my mom on that side. It's like Mary my favorite child and then I just gave it to her thing. So it's Kinda funny but that was fine My last I know favorite thing is. I'm actually wearing them right now. To my data sneakers specifically the five nine. Three style So they're just like super lightweight and good and there's a bunch of different colors and I think it's good because I wouldn't necessarily like hard workout in them no. I don't really work out so you can go for like long walks and you can also with like shorts and jeans and leggings and their key to not wear with normals. Yeah anytime I wear mine I get compliments and somebody asked. Where did you get those and yeah and you can usually find them? which with everything I always you can usually find him on sale so I would always like either Google Google? We're going to put a link to a couple places. 'cause there's like a bunch of different colors but I would always like Google either coupon code with them discounted so just you can usually find him on sale. Okay so there you go. That's our four favorite things right now. Stuff that we use almost every day that we thought we'd share with you but now a rundown of the rest of the episode You know which we're going to get into gifts that give back for the girls in your life as the second thing On the third thing gifts that give back for the guys in.

"It when we were kids one of us was allergic to cats and dogs so in order to not ostracize that one kid my parents said we were all allergic. I was kind of crushed by this because I love the idea of having a authority for I was I was a furry when I was in very friend of very Powell and so the next logical step was to get rabbits and I remember going to the pet store to get a rabbit rabbit. I brought it home but it was hopping oddly and I picked it up and looked underneath it and realized that it didn't have find feet it just had these two little nubs so I brought it back to the pet store owner and he said all right orange pick out another one and he took it kind of aggressively and tossed it into a separate bin and I said well what's going to happen to that one and he said Oh one of the snakes is GonNa get lucky and so I said well okay. I you know I can't have that happen so I can you at least give me a discount on it and he he's. I'll tell you what I'll knock off five bucks so he gave it to me for fifty dollars instead of twenty and then right when you left the store with nubs he went onto feed the snakes a bunch of able bodied rabbits snakes out there like this one doesn't have feet good. The legs are my favorites are really my lucky. Day could be a dream life could be injury who ship chipper. You're listening to life short. I'm your two-legged host. Justin long nine sweetheart do uh-huh with always is Christian who also has his also a bipedal yeah yeah you are a bipedal such a typos happy ending. I ended up having knobs for God into college well into college so like seven or eight years. which is I was with you that day? When you try to return absurd and you remember when we were heading home this is we're dating ourselves here because when we were driving home and the popular song on the radio at the time was that Natalie Imbruglia song torn of REMM remember it well that's what we named and the rabbit on the way home because I remember like we named her Natalie out because he was playing on the radio already and then but let nubs ended up sticking because you know one syllable Natalie's kind of kind of a mouthful much more fitting yeah I mean it looked much more like enough and not only did we have knobs for how many years seven eight years he had a series of problematic yeah well rabbits? We had alice who was our first rabbit rabbit. She was cute but got it from one one Easter shoes a little I remember waking coming up on Easter morning and there was a rabbit in my bedroom and and this is our first rabbit and named Alice shoes a white rapper that looked cute but she had problems problems she would run around in circles. She wouldn't move in a straight line so shoot run around in circles and make this buzzing annoying yes she does. I think a neurological problem album of because she would co her head was constantly cocked to one side and she would favor that side when she ran so which is why she ran in circles because she was constantly. I think she was trying to go straight but her head was but she would also remember the worst thing she did she would she would. They just shit everywhere. I mean there there was my poor mother was like beside herself. Oh speaking AH rabbits shit everywhere. Oh Yeah you remember yeah. I know what you're going to say what you do to me. When I was a child so my two older brothers would to torture me they would one of them would would hold me down and the other would cover my eyes pinch my nose off? Oh this is awful WH- making my mouth open feed me what they said was rabbit. It wasn't that cruel because rob little because rabbits make little pellets poops and they would say say this is rabbit boob. You're eating rabbit. Who and I you know be fighting as much as I could but I would have to have this rob who for my mouth and come to find out they weren't feeding me rabbit poop thank God but it was ostrich poop but they were feeding me rabbit food these little pellets which which is roughly the same mm sizes rabbit proof still not good? It's still not good when you're when you say you're seeing some rabbit poop. You should instead be feeding them occurrence or something anyway. I guess they loves rabbits so so the reason we're talking. Rabbits extensively is because because our guest today is it's hard to separate her from her love of rabbits. She talks about how much she loves her. She used to go on Letterman and Dan and her pet rabbits. Remember were a major topic of conversation. She's a rabid enthusiast. Yeah that's fair to say and to the point where if you say something somewhat disparaging about one of her rabbits. She'll get very defend yes. She is such a unique human being yeah. It may be the most unique ever yeah she's up there yeah so August as Amy Sedaris who is a strange inge colorful fascinating person rabbit owner rabbit owner rabid enthusiast he said and just perform. I don't even know how to Amy's one those people that it's it's hard to label her really it's hard to 'cause. She's an actress. She's she's a writer. She's just a she's just an interesting God bird. I was introduced to her years ago. When I was in college shoes on a show called strangers with candy where she played so good a student but as an adult Jerry Bland jerri blank she he played a character called Jerry playing who is an older woman who who is in schools and high school and I remember my roommate John and college had an autographed poster picture rather framed of amy playing jerry blank blank and it was and it was made out him it? You said John Peon me love Jerry and I I thought it was right above his bed. I remember and I thought it was in his thing and now knowing a little bit. It's so funny to think of her doing that. Autographing Oh funny. She is so ooh weird and fearless. You guys worked together on movie called Ghost team a few years ago. It was the first time the only time you've worked with her yeah. No I didn't meet her on that. I had met her because we have mutual friends. I saw I I've known her for a long time but I really got to know her. Well on ghost team yeah. This is the first time we worked together. I think and then we a couple of years ago we went to. We hung out with her in her apartment. In New York. God just tonight we went over and we got stoned in her apartment and it was it's such a few hugh fascinating place to be with the rabbit and and the knickknacks everywhere it was like art director places it was such a fascinating place and really funny really funny time but she talks about her the knickknacks that she surrounds herself with and and and for lack of a better word. I wouldn't know what to call them but she's she. She all of those things have been important in a level of importance to our that they're they're all she's not like a horror. She's she creates a lot. She is really into like crafting. We get into it a little bit in the episode but She's she's really loves giving people gifts and she'll make her own things. She's a very she's craft. She's she's crafty. She's a really like a kid like a interesting little kid. we should also mention really fast that she is on she has her own show now call at home with Amy Sedaris that gets nominated for awards. It's it's Hilarious sort of variety show. I guess you'd say yes so you'll you'll we'll talk about that. We'll talk about instagram and rapids and everything in between mostly rapids yeah if you're not sick a rabbit chat. There's plenty more coming up my talk with the rabbit-loving one of a kind amy sedaris sweetheart a so Jonathan Van Ness is one of the guys on Queer Eye. Yes I think he's I just recently actually really binged watched the whole year where it's so good yeah and you would be a great candidate. I mean this is gonNA sound. Insulting does only in certain respects because Justin community so they would do such a good job at organizing your life Oh yeah but we're not advertising show someone episode and it was. It's really moving so well done and I think he's my favorite. He's the one of the long hair in the kind of old timey stash he does the grooming yes he wrote a book called over the top. Oh and it sort of about his growing up and how he you know skyrocketing into the public eye with queer eye and the audios took the so he does so he reads it was performed by Jonathan himself and we'll have you laughing crying all of it all the do you like this expression all the fields all the fields glove check it out over the top Jonathan Vanessa's available now in hardcover book and digital audio wherever you like to buy books meet again that night hung out at your house was one of the most sense we gotta do it again and I meant this when I said it it felt I remember leaving that night and thinking like Oh yeah we do this regularly this why not live on the Espn Paul down him recently and he said he saw you in. La just texted Paul down. He's great talk to him for this. No I won't he would be good to correct. He's Funny Paula. We've either bunch and Amy Paulin. I did a movie called Ghost team which you probably saw it you you saw the audience but rolling theme that's where we met no but we got to know each other. They worked together yeah and it was a great cat. I mean you and I and I guess that's where I'm Paul Townsend John Heater who had played Napoleon dynamite and we did a really fun thing once where we did. John Heater had a really good sense of humor about Napoleon dynamite. Would you say yeah an God. I can't believe that it was just real dance move in the movie that you're blown away by but not such a good he would bring it up often in fact like it's like tiny might yeah and it all culminated when we all did our impression of John. Do you remember that as a really funny the video okay so you prefer live audiences and do and I like the energy of a live audience and because you can't you have one day you have one chance. You're not gonNa you know stop. I mean now the Connecticut stuff but they're not gonna you. Just get away with more in a way you feel more like you. You can be yourself in the moment more and more media things. If something happens you your appearances on Letterman. We're always very shoot from the hip felt that way I mean I was always prepared but then in in I was always prepared but then I had my list of things. I knew I wanted to get in there. I didn't want run by the producers but then once you're out there. You never know what you know. He'll start start off with something then it's just your derailed but you have something to fall back on but missed doing letterman you you he and he had a really good almost like flirtatious shows well. I was in the show. I didn't really later when people like oh you too and I was like Oh that when you're in it you don't think about it that way and then when people started saying that what you didn't play it it up like I never never never it was just natural. It's just natural in. I think I asked you this before but you in touch with them. Called me like three years ago or something just to say. Hey how you doing owes one of those things I know killer now and I was in my underpants and I was petty my rabbit. The rabbit is how old now Tina's how far subpoenas the second round that I met did the first third rabbit but I found out tina was a male rabbit like a few months ago. I always said I thought it was a girl named Tina and I just found out it's a boy I did asked this. How did you find find out? They had an insert a catheter. She was sick and they usually gave me. This is a boy ravin not a female. It's really hard to tell I know oh I thought you meant it was hard to talk about about living with the big raving queen. That's the way I look at it a big big how I would have thought that rabbits had the hamsters have very prominent testicles. Did you know the rabbits and hamsters are very different so I didn't know that I didn't know that the hamsters have really big yeah..

"Nancy tan? Okay. Hi, Amy, love you and your podcast. Thanks. I'm very interested in fostering at some point, I'm currently married and have no kids. I think we're at a good place that we could offer a home in resources to a child. But I'm twenty nine have no experience raising kids, and I do plan on trying to have kids next year. But I still would like to foster my husband and I don't know when the best time would be to foster child. My husband thinks it would be best for us to be parents first and have an understanding of being a parent figure before, fostering. I think now it'd be a great time to foster, but also worried that we would be in over our heads are I would make it worse for the child. I would love to hear your thoughts advise experiences with adoption and jumping right into parenthood. Also, I would love it. If you had a four things with Eddie's wife, a bet she has a wealth of knowledge, advise coming from social work in their current. Experiences, fostering, I would be grateful to get any advice. Thank you. Well, if you're listening right now, and you're like who's Eddie, and who's Eddie's, wife will Eddie's on the Bobby bones show with me and he's a data to but now a fostered out of two. So now technically data four and I had him on to share about how they went about doing it. And I'm you can go back and listen to that episode. And yes, it's a good idea. I should definitely have his wife on, if she's willing to come on. But, you know, Corey has experienced with foster care and adoption. And, you know, for me and my husband, he always thought we would have biological kids, and then we would adopt maybe and I never had adoption on the radar. I just thought we would pop out a bunch of biological children. My sister has four it seemed easy. All my friends have much babies, and then we just couldn't get pregnant. And then my husband took, I was on the adoption train way before he was. He just was not ready. He was still hold now that we will get pregnant, and then that would be then we would decide about adoption later. And so then, you know that just wasn't God's plan. And are you know I've said this multiple times, but I would pray every. Time I was taking a pregnancy test that it would be positive, and, you know, it I couldn't see it at the time and I was getting so frustrated. But now that I have Stevenson and stuff, sheera, running up and down my stairs at the house, and like this was his plan all along. And, you know, we never even thought we would adopt older kids for that matter. Guess when we started we started domestic adoption with planning on getting a baby and then that detoured. And somehow we ended up getting older kids from Haiti so you know that in looking back now I can see why my prayers were answered..

With Amy Brown. As a parent, one thing, I definitely don't want to have to worry about is our car's tires. Fortunately, the folks over at Michelin. Thanks, so too. That's why Michelin supports testing of worn tire, breaking performance tires need to stop safely, not just now but down the road with Michelin. Parents have one less thing to worry about knowing that their tires are designed to deliver reliable wet, traction, even in warned state goes when you've got kids on board every stop counts Michelin performance, every time..

"Amy heard you on the radio this morning talking about the phone. You got your daughter. Would you please share the type and brand phone you bought as well as the carrier, and where it was purchased so Shannon. I got her for twelfth birthday, my husband, and I thought she kind of needed a way to communicate with us, especially she stays home with her little brother sometimes. And then she has no way nobody has a house phone anymore. So sometimes if my husband, and I both leave really we can only be gone for like five minutes because she has no way to call us. So we got her a Gizmo watch it's from Verizon, and I put her on my Verizon plan, and she can have up to ten contacts on the the watch phone people that can call her and she can call out to and she can send little messages to we can track her on. It has like a GPS thing. I can log into an app and see everything she's doing even how many steps she's taken that day. You can make a to do list for like two sheer as we put make your bed. She makes her bed every day. So I think it's good for her to be able to cross that offer to do less because she feels accomplished like she loves being given responsibility and feeling accomplished. So we put tasks on there that we knew she was good at so that she could start to build up her confidence with like keeping an actual legit to do this. And it's kind of funny now that she's into steps like she'll be marching in place because she wants to like see how many steps she can get. And so she has more of the sit in front of the TV watch Netflix and make her a spa bracelets kinda girl not necessarily get my steps kinda guy. So this watch has really been a great thing for us. And she's been able to call like my sister and some of her other ants, and Mary and me, and you know, it's just fun like for her to be able to have a phone in a way to contact and communicate with people. So I love it personally. I think it's great and parents can have the app and monitor everything so again, that's the Verizon Gizmo watch. So next Email is from Madeleine. Hey, Amy, I've been a huge fan of the show since middle school. I'm twenty now, I followed your Instagram forever. And absolutely love for things and the fifth thing, I know in the past you said you were fishery done with hitting snooze big problem of mine. So how much time do you allow yourself to get ready in the mornings, and what is the morning routine usually look like for you, hashtag pimp, Android. So Madeleine, I still don't press news..
