Why China is Joining the Global Push to Regulate Big Tech

"When it comes to regulating big tack europe has been taking an aggressive stance for a while now and as we talked about on the show. We've seen some action from the us as well but lately china has made moves to join in our reporter. Sam schechner joins me from paris. To talk about why china is getting involved now. What it's doing and what impact could be protect companies. Hey sam thanks for being here. Thanks for having me so before we get to china's action. I wanted to start by bringing us up to speed. European regulators have really been leading the charge when it comes to regulating tack. What have they been focusing on your right. That europe has really been at the leading edge. A lot of these these types of new rules europe's new privacy law the gdp our general data protection regulation was one of the first of the of a new class of transversal privacy laws. And that's actually been emulated in a number of parts of the world. Europe has also been among the first to initiate antitrust investigations into big companies including google and apple amazon and actually has issued decisions against google totaling more than nine billion dollars with fines in recent years and now europe is also helping lead the charge when it comes to coming up with new competition regulations. It's something that's been bubbling in academic circles for quite a while whether or not there's a handful of companies that are so big that they need their own special rules to make sure that they treat everyone fairly to make sure that companies have a chance to rise up and challenge them and the he us antitrust are also in charge of new digital regulation. Here margaret avesta your actually describe it with a metaphor to the automobile. She said that when cars were first invented it a new technology and after some period of time people realize that maybe we need traffic lights right and a lot of action clearly stemming from from that sort of mindset. We've also seen some action in the us as well right. There is indeed some momentum in the us four new competition rules you know given the political environment and some of the differences between democrats and republicans. It's not clear that there'll be an agreement that being said last summer. Democrats in the house. Judiciary committee released a report calling for changes to antitrust laws and creation of new types of obligations and republicans in their own report actually endorsed albeit a narrower set of changes but some areas of agreement such as requirements tech. Giant's make their services interoperable so there is the possibility that some types of legislation might see the light of day in the us dot. So that's sort of the lay of the land but china has also recently joined the push with some new proposals. What do they unveil well. That's right in. November china issued its first draft guidelines for how they want to regulate competitive behavior by digital giants and on paper the guidelines are actually very similar to some of the things that have come out in europe. The uk also has a set of regulations for big tech companies that the proposed and china's proposals include things like blocking companies from crunching consumer data in order to set discriminatory prices or at selling prices below cost to help gain market share. Some of the classic things that might be anti competitive more generally but that big companies are accused of doing and in potentially more difficult to identify with this. And i understand. China has a pretty short history with the sort of regulation. Why are they getting involved now. Well on one hand. China has one of the shortest histories of antitrust regulation of major global economies only adopted its anti-monopoly law in two thousand eight but more cynically. Some people have noted that this push began just slightly after an october speech from alibaba founder. Jack ma who publicly lashed out at the chinese government's tight financial regulations and following that there were a series of regulatory actions against elements of his internet empire. And so the question has been raised when you talk to. Experts is this chinese. Push about really trying to rein in big tech companies to preserve competition. Or is it about taking on people. Like mr ma who they think are challenging the power of the central government. And you know when you talk to when you talk to experts. They say that mon- speech may have been the trigger but that there have been longstanding concerns about increasing concentration among the chinese internet giants including including alibaba but also other companies to rate and since alibaba is one of china's biggest most powerful companies. Making jack ma. One of china's most powerful businessmen. This sort of illustrates broader difference between china and some of the other countries that we've talked about you know. China wants to exert a lot more control over attack and the internet then does the west could barrier in terms of getting different governments on the same page. Well that's a very good question you know we. We really don't know what the long term impacts are going to be of these rules. I mean for one thing. They haven't actually been applied yet. These are proposals and you're right that china's internet is largely dominated by its own set of companies not by global giants and chinese internet. Companies are much less present overseas. So you know it's it's a question. How much one regulatory system or the other will end up prevailing. There are certainly more countries in china's orbit that could end up adopting china's approach to internet regulation but in some cases in some senses that there's similar motivations behind what's going on. I mean whether you're trying to preserve state power for its own sake or because you want to make sure that there can be a new set of companies that come up to challenge. I mean those are still it boils down to saying certain companies have gotten too big and something needs to be done about them and so the more that those sorts of rules are being proposed. It certainly would count as momentum for them. And you know it's not a it's not a given that these things will be done so momentum is meaningful. i mean you. You have free market proponents. Who argue that. These types of proposals go too far that they would hobble digital markets and leave some people worse off so while there is a growing number of experts and competition regulators who say we might need rules like this they certainly aren't unopposed. So china's entry into the fray could potentially impact the course of the debate. Yeah and just to take further. What's the outlook for big tech. Now that china's join this push and how are the company is responding. Well i think big tech. Is these big tech. Giants are increasingly aware that they're going to be facing more regulation whether it's about privacy whether it's you know updates to tax rules whether it's about their obligations to other companies in terms of new competition regulations. It's just a fact of life. And so i think at this point. They're they're now down to figuring out how to make sure that these rules are ones that they can live with. You know when you talk to facebook they sort of are perhaps the most acquiescent saying that we acknowledge these types of rules must apply to us. Amazon and google say more that they would hope that rules that would be rules that apply to all companies not trying to focus on a few. But i think it's it's certainly fair to say that these companies are going to find themselves much more regulated and they have at the last couple decades have been a sort of open playing field for them. It seems likely that they're going to find their their field of action more limited. They may have time doing the same kinds of acquisitions that they had done before. Or certainly will face more scrutiny. Before they're able to complete them. Some regulations on the table could in the case of repeated non-compliance go as far as breakup. I think really the us would have to get more into the game for that to to truly be on the table. Indeed the ftc's suit against facebook last year did specifically talk about unwinding some of facebook's acquisitions

"Lampard site as chelsea the stevie nicks and don hutchinson here to discuss that decision. St let's start simply showy. Was it fair. i don't think he's fear. No the problem is that we're talking about a club that's not normal. We're talking about club that regardless of the name of the manager regardless of the cv yelich or experience or whatever it may be when you lose so many games You don't get a chance to to get back your way. You may have been before you lose games. You lose your job. That's kind of their immortal. And so frank just falls into the into the spot where others before him. Have you lose goodbye. don't they. Size it in the statement. They weren't saying any particular progress under lampard fair. I think that's fair. I do think though he should not have been more time. Try and get his way out about for me to goodful missile and such distances all full still in the last sixteen. I didn't get carried away. And nor did frank on each Will not ready for title challenge. Anatomy bottle molested performance. Really worried may done. thousand tuna. Lost lostock could easily have been five six. But i still think you know if you'll wrote abramovich annual no the board of directors at chelsea. You must understand that. Frank lampard chelsea is going to have a difficult time. It's just not gonna come into legend and tried to call plate while cloth Lots in in a pet quality ola and marino. It's going to be difficult for him so when you are in difficult times. I would've thought. I would shut him a little bit loyalty and more only little bit patients and if it didn't work out in a month salmon chelsea was still in his position then tell them to stop in time and just seems a little bit off. What was it. What was the last straw. Well not not the luton game because they wanted strange when you suck someone to win we even. If it's in the autumn of to hold up in the league for example. I think he's an accumulation of things like the boys of said. The results haven't been good enough. He's the manager of the abramovich era with the lowest point tally per game again which is just not good enough. It's not good enough the performances that they've put the way they played no identity and we at the end of january. Now no patterns of plano star. There's nothing you can see really in the game. They played too many defeats sunday in the last six weeks and i think he also pays the difficult relationship behind with marina. Grownups difficult relationship that he had some of the dressing room. Certainly the fight. That tim of hobbies have failed so far to establish themselves in. That team is also on him. He can argue that he wanted can ride. I didn't think the team was balanced. He needed a bit more time. Whatever excuses he can come up with. I think overall is just not good enough and and we've seen in the past sake managers who've won great things like marino konchalovsky and keeping some like sorry like to finish the season and finished with with with a trophy as well for he must have. It was the right time to change and to bring much to what you don. I'm not hearing of drought. Jody morris a texas I wouldn't i wouldn't bombard the Text because a frat will be hutton. And so so. We'll jody morris But front knows. I think he's he said dot stipends not nice disappointed in raleigh saw. I'm not just go back to the bigger picture dot unless i'm naive. When you see other gonna solve show on your say mccullough frontline pod come into the league expected to win the premier league. Expect to get close to wouldn't jump. His legs latte is so difficult and you say we'll all these. I mean. this guy was going to be cycling. They when they failed to qualify for the last sixteen of the jump zig and went out ridiculously early on bodily as well or not. it was under pressure. Walk two months ago. An authentic turn things around episodes slowly. All he's not sitting tilt the league's just think a little bit of patients unfortunately talked about chelsea and night on any monitor patients when they win the league a win the very biggest these japanese. They still pull the trigger. Do you think he's biggest. Mistake has been the when you go and spend so much money on attacking players and you come to the halfway stage of the season. Nobody knows what your front four is going to be. Then i think. I if i'm looking at that from their point of view swirl ho ho long do we give this guy t saw how we're going to go forward because right now you've probably got what seven or eight players vying for four squats and we have had every single combination and we still don't know come come saturday afternoon. Who's going to. Who's going to step forward and plan that front force. Or i would suggest that's been his biggest mistake.

New Strains Of CoronaVirus Are Breaking Out Worldwide

"Now anybody who has had any experience of life on this earth the last year or so. We'll be firmly of the belief that one strain of covid nineteen is more than enough as it spreads itself around the world however new variations keep being detected including one in the uk which appeared more readily transmissible a south african one which might be might be rather somewhat resistant to vaccines and brazilian one. Ditto small numbers of both of the latter have already been identified in the uk and dot dallas present elsewhere or on route. One joined with more. By dr chris smith monocle twenty fours health and correspondent also a virologist at cambridge university. Chris as we have discussed many times before all viruses mutate. What they do. Is this one doing so unusually quickly an door. Dramatically hello andrew. We don't think so in some respects. This is to be expected for the reason. You've outlined that the that all viruses mutate and change this one's no exception and therefore we're going to see a gentle drift or evolution of the virus specifically. We're going to see that happening. Most often. in parts of the world where the prevalence of the disease is highest in other words. Where you've got lots of people being infected. I'm passing the virus to lots of other people. That's loss of the roles of the genetic dice that the virus can take in order to accrue changes and optimize itself because at the end of the day viruses optimize themselves in order to spread most efficiently in their particular host and this is a new infection humans therefore it was pretty well adapted to us but not perfect. There's some room to maneuver and that's what the virus is doing. Its adjusting its behavior and its biology. A bit in order to spread most optimally among us. Humans the different variations though in different places those responses by the virus to local conditions. I guess whether it's it's climate or something else yes. Any kind of organism on earth is going to adapt itself in response to selective pressure applied by the environment in which it lives. These corona is a living in a human environment and therefore all behavior to a certain extent affects the behavior of the virus as we apply more selective pressure to it by making his job harder to spread between us for instance by social distancing through various other public health measures and spread control infection control. You'll going to select for viruses that all reproductive fitter in other words. They're better at doing what they do. And and in that way you'll get something that is usually more transmissible. That's what we saw the slight surprise here. Is this question about whether it is causing more severe illness or not now. Obviously the jury is a little bit out on this. At the moment we do have some directional data than that may be the case but it is early days of only just begun to take this trend. So we're not entirely sure whether this is a statistical artifact just a product to the fact there are lots of numbers and so the viruses is producing lots of infections. So we're seeing more severe infections or whether the genuine is evidence for higher talapity rate in each of the cases. So that figure we've been given by the uk government that suggests that the uk variant might be thirty percent More deadly which is an alarming sounding figure. Is it possible that figure is either less alarming than it sounds or actually not entirely accurate. Will the government put this across a downing street. Press briefing country balance-sheet presenting numbers in terms of deaths per thousand. And he said if you look at say a sixty year old man the risk with the parent strain of corona virus of that person passing away. If you had ten people with a thousand people with krona vars you might get ten people with die with this new variant that ten rises to thirteen or fourteen hence a forty or thirty percent increase in the mortality rate so they are nevertheless odds to emphasize the case fatality rate remains very low so in other words we haven't got something that's killing thirty percent people what we've got something that appears to based on the data that initially have been analyzed. Be a little bit more lethal as in not for the person. Obviously if you die but it's on average killing slightly more people than before but we don't know for sure if that's the case i mean. We have got a number of studies that present this london school hygiene tropical medicine of showing that the the risk ratio is about one point three five times greater with the new variant than the over one point three five. That's a thirty five percent increase. Imperial college of donna. Study then numbers range somewhere between high twenties to mid thirties. In terms of percentage increase in risk ecstasy university They did a smaller study. One point nine one was there multiple in other words. It's ninety percent worse. A public health england cited figure one and a half or so so therefore all of them seem to be centering on there being an increase in risk. But we don't know exactly how big that risk is but we think there is one but we need to reassure ourselves. This is real finding. it's not just a product of the fat. We're seeing lots of infections with this new air. It might be that. We're there foreseeing because of the disguise of the the problem more people who are at risk of having a severe infection. Cropping up with this very factional. They are trying to control for that so it doesn't like it might be real

So did you start like plan with decks of cards and learn how to shuffle them. Fancy and manipulate them and hold them own. Yeah but back then. There is no youtube or even videos library and get magic and try to figure out how to do the card tricks. Manipulations have maze. All your friends with your card tricks. Yeah of course yes very young so my audience besides my parents. Yeah really did you continue on as a young man. Did you try to earn a living as a magician and always happy who is more of a hobby than i went to college when he's throwing clinton fraternity had all the active members. How the Virtual Office Could Replace the Physical One

"It's another monday in the world of remote work depending on. When you're listening to this you might be going up for another day of sitting in front of your computer in your zoom sweater. Trying to get stuff done by video conference. We're of course familiar with the challenges of remote work already. Big recalls can be awkward and inefficient in. Its part to replace the serendipity of running into someone in the break room but lately some new services have been trying to solve those issues with virtual office. Spaces are columnist. Christopher mims visited one himself and he joins me now to talk about what he saw. Hey christopher thanks for being here. Thank you for having me. So you've visited the virtual offices of id corporate. They were using space through a service called gather. Can you talk about what that experience like. I visited a number of corporate offices in my time so it was strange to visit of virtual office reminded me of real world ones. Which are you know. Kind of whimsical lake airbnb. They have all their conference rooms. Which are modeled after various apartments on airbnb so being in a virtual office where there were desks and conference rooms and you know stage for people to give talks and a cafeteria and a bar and the office is actually in a castle and there's a beach it was really funny. How even though. I'm walking around with my avatar. I felt in some sense. Like i was there. And maybe that's you know decades of playing video games. But i also think that there is a lot to be said for the way that video games. They're designed over. Decades has been refined to really tap into innate abilities that we have so for example in our brains we have place cells which are physical analogues. It's an individual neuron lights up when you go to a place and you can see this on the brain of a rat when it's traveling through maze for example or if you talk to people who win the annual world memory championship a lot of them. What called memory palaces. You imagine a house and you walk through and you place the object. You wanna memories in the house that works so well because we have this huge section of our brain which is devoted to place and geography and navigating in three dimensional space. We just don't use it with our existing interfaces communicating remotely. So when i went into a virtual tutti office and started walking around the thing that really struck me was like oh my god. I'm using more of brain and it feels more natural so when i'm in a virtual h. A hosted on for example gather. It's very easy. I just use my arrow keys. And i'm moving in two dimensions link in legend zelda and at the same time they have incorporated sort of the minimum requirements for communicating in that space as we would in a real one and one of the spatial audio of my avatar is next somebody else's avatar. We can talk freely in these little bubbles just like we went through video chat you know if we walk away from each other the sound fades and dies complete so you can create these clusters of conversation or you can walk up to somebody in the hallway and have chat with them. That's private or you go into a room. Only people in the room can hear each other. So this allows you know based on my interviews with the people who are working in this these types of spaces this kind of more spontaneous collaboration link. We're used to in an office at the same time because you can make yourself more or less available you can turn off your camera. You can say i'm away. You're not tethered to your desk. As he would be in a physical space going to this office it just it really struck me how quickly i was able to interview a lot of people just by walking up to them and that just doesn't work with the friction of you know. Zoom call words like. Oh where's the link. Okay here logging in. I'm waiting for you to log in. is everybody here. Oh you're muted just all of that. Extra friction really gets in the way of spontaneous communication. I think and gather is one of a number of companies offering similar services. Just how widespread are these types of platforms and how are companies using them. There are a lot of companies using them. I mean one of the biggest ones which is called remo remote dot co. they're used a lot for events. They told me that they have multiple hundreds of thousands of monthly active users. Spatial chat claims similar figures. You know they have people using them. From every big chunk of money you could imagine plus boeing and a bunch of other fortune five hundred companies. Not all of which are paying members because of course they all have a freemium tier so it is. Nasa sent hundreds of thousands of monthly active users. But if you're having a few big events that could only be a few dozens or hundreds of individual companies but has impressed me that the biggest ones by just traffic are bootstrapped. And they're like look. We already making revenue. We don't need investment because we are just were able to pay our server bills from people signing up that is of course a very powerful signal that something is sticky. And it's working if you can get to revenue if you can go from nothing to a product that is making money in nine months. That's a very compelling space generally sounds like a lot of users and how all these companies using these types of platforms. It sounds like it might just be more about special events than it is about you know putting in your full nine to five from the virtual office. I think rate now. The initial use case for most companies and organizations is events because partly that allows them to dip their toe. It's low commitment. I mean if you're going to have a holiday party. In one of these people have to adapt their work style to spend a couple of hours walking around some virtual space so companies using it to work in. I think are in the minority. I've also heard interesting. Use cases lake people holding scientific meetings. And the they build out this big hall. And then everybody's standing in front of their scientific poster and anybody who's ever been to a science meeting or a medical meeting knows that that is the central ritual for disseminating new data and information also just like meeting people in your field and it's the science fair for adults but it's really important in in academia so it's been interesting that so many universities and other institutions seem to be using it for those kind of events others are using it for parties summer using it just to replace what people the old the stuff that we all used to go to in convention centers. Where you'd go to a talk but the real substance of it is having coffee or drink with somebody over chris. I can put on my cynical hat for a second. During the pandemic i feel like workers are struggling with zoom fatigue and with the sort of always on mentality that comes with being full remote. These services seem to require more presents out of employees and and that seems like a potential challenge. I think as with zoom as with slack where we were promised. This is the future. Remember where it can then once you once you're kind of forced to use like really high doses of these things you really run into their limitations and you get zoom fatigue or slack on or whatever you wanna call it. I think that the same could be true for these on the other hand. I think that there is the potential for them to be the next evolution. That makes it a little bit more. Sustainable i remote work experts. I talked to cautioned against companies saying. Oh this tool is gonna solve our problem for us at base. I think the real challenge with remote work is companies need to establish a bunch of new norms in some ways. Very different from what we are used to in an in person office where norms can be established by as moses have to be more deliberate and you know whether or not you're using a virtual each q. Being forced to everyone share what they're working on in some kind of document that can be accessed a synchronous all those little nuances of what it takes to make a really functional. Remote workforce work. That doesn't go away. The tool doesn't solve for that automatically. But maybe it makes it a little bit easier so it sounds like you think this is something that might be here to stay as we move into at least a more heavily remote workforce in the future absolutely. I also think that ultimately we're building toward kind of a more complete fusion of the internet and real life through the mediums like augmented reality in some ways. I think we're laying the tracks now for that so the more we get used to collaborating remotely through all these tools the more natural it will seem to toggle between what we're doing in the real world what we're doing on the internet via other things like our glasses are vr. Headsets are ever more mobile. Devices are risk based whatever aren't. That's our tech columnist. Christopher mims thanks so much for joining me. Thank you for having me.

What Is Intention Setting And How To Live With Intention

"Is intention setting and how to live with intention by shirley of daring living dot com. Do you ever feel like you've been on autopilot lately. Does your mind feel a bit foggy and unclear deep down to you crave to live every day more fully with more purpose and meaning if it currently feeling this way than practising living every day with more intention is super important when you have a reason an intention for doing something going about your day just makes it feel so much more meaningful and worthwhile. What is intention. And why's it so important. According to dictionary dot com the word intention means an act or instance of determining mentally upon an action or result. Being intentional is a mental state that represents a commitment to carry out an action or a set of actions in the future. You're acting from a mental state with the end or goal in mind. Having an intention makes you more aware of your thoughts and actions during the day and also crease something for you to actively work for and look forward to instead of letting life happened to you. You can choose to be intentional about how to live every day. Ultimately i strongly believe that being more intentional can give you hope it can give you a sense of purpose belonging and acceptance of where you are. It gives you a reason to keep living and keep moving forward. The good thing is that being intentional is not difficult at all anyone can be. Intentional is a consistent practice in choice to be more intentional every day. Here three easy ways you can send intentions meant live more intentional every day number one. Start your day right. Create a morning ritual. I like to call my morning routine. Because that's sacred. It is starting your day how you want it to be can be the catalyst determining how the rest of your day will turn out. That's why you see so many famous people out there talking about having a morning routine as part of their important habits to success a consistent routine every single morning over time can be. The anger will ground yourself throughout the day. I also use this time as me. Time with phone is off. I'm not talking to anyone. I'm just spending the time with myself for myself by myself. If you're someone who's very busy and always interacting with people having the time in the morning prioritizing yourself can be so nourishing remember a morning. Routine does not have to be big and extensive lasting for two to three hours especially for busy working professionals. You simply just don't have the time we are creating a routine for yourself. Make sure it is realistic and actually doable for you. For my routine. I focus on cleansing three things my mind my body and my space which is a routine learned from lewis house. Choose how you want feel toward the end of my morning ritual our choose one word of how i wanna feel that day. This is a great way to be intentionally. Choose one word to hold onto as you carry on with your day because what you think about you will attract more of after you have chosen that word throughout the day. It'll be a lot easier for you to look for things in fine reasons for you to feel that way. For example two words. I like to choose to feel in my days are joy and motivated. Remember you have the ability to choose how you want to think feel and act every day number two creating your ideal life if you wanna live every day with more intention. It's also important to discuss about how to be more intentional with your bigger picture. Life direction having that long term perspective in mind also really help with your daily decisions and actions you choose to take you can do that by creating a life vision for yourself journal your intention for your ideal life this is called scripting basically. You are imagining one day in your ideal life and how it will look like you'll script out the day for when you wake up to when you go to bed in present tense with as much detail and has vivid as possible when he can be very specific and be very intentional. About how you want your ideal life to look like is a lot easier for you to take actions both consciously and unconsciously to create that for yourself because again you're setting an intention to create that into your current reality

The Cut Throat War To Dominate China's Grocery Delivery Industry

"Speaking of china. You had a great story on. I didn't i mean who knew this. This is why. I love rest of world because we're learning about stuff that the cutthroat war dominate china's grocery delivery industry is there a grocery delivery industry in china. I'm kind of. I don't know why i'm surprised to hear that. Yes so follow me for a second. This is a really crazy model. That like a hundred million people plus china right now. So it's really big and it's really really and it's attracting sort of like grandma's almost like aunties You know people are really price conscious so imagine you have a group chat and all of your neighbors or that group chat and you have sort of like you know maybe a local state home mom or someone you know. Maybe the corner store owner Someone who owns a seven eleven and they are the moderator of that group chat every single day they give you some grazie deals for fresh food and all you do is in that group chat. Say what you and the next day the stay at home. Mom we'll get it all delivered to her place and then she'll bring it to you or you go pick it up at the corner store. So they're called group buying groups so she gets everything and then parcells it out to her neighbors the like uber or d. Which is the over of china is invested in this every ten cent. Jd dot com alibaba. All the biggest tech companies are investing in this all over the place. It's a huge frenzy. Just sort of like get all these people because cheer point. These are people who didn't usually virus online. They were just go to the corner store and get stuff previously but what this is doing is leading all those big tech companies. Cut a ton of costs. They get marketing from the stay at home mom. They get logistics. they don't have to go to each person's home right the stay at home. Mom will take care of that for them. So the money to right she gets she gets about five ten percent commission so she's incentivized to get as many people as possible most of these people. Have you know anywhere from a couple hundred to nine hundred. She's all that are managing. It's huge or that and it can be can be a big source of business for them and it's a crazy trend in china and it's become really really wild actually two employees at one of the companies that his invested in this actually died Recently which sort of set off this huge reckoning about like you know are they pushing employees too hard at these companies you know is this frenzy worth it. The government is mad about it. But i love it because it's like stay at home. Mom selling vegetables by everyone in tech is just all over themselves over it. Well as you out It's a in. The article is highly customized. Because this one person who is managing this group note gets to know everybody their interests their tastes what they want what they don't like so it works. It works really well. I have to say come on. If you're like cute little neighbor texas everyday and it was like sale on. Carrots are totally doing. Yeah fifty cents. Bundled carrots come grabbed them tomorrow with your eggs and your milk or whatever. Of course i would do it. This model could work in the rest of the world. I think that. Like when i think about someone like my mom who's like knocking to navigate. Instacart knows how to use. I message the thing is that it's integrated into chat right and we don't really have each year in the same ways. I think we're sort of far off. But i do think you know this super-charged by the pandemic there are way more people anger. She's online than there used to be. And i think that instacart is ripe for disruption. I think like you know whole foods. Delivery is not doing anything particularly Innovative and i think even amazon and these logistics giants are still really struggling with how to make a profit off of this and these chinese companies sort of figured out a way to do it although to be fair. They're offering really really low prices because he's really price conscious consumers and suppliers or getting mad. Because they're like selling a bottle of cooking oil for like less than the actual cost to make it so there are a lot of sort of reminds me of when it was like two dollars. Take an uber anywhere. Because they were just pouring money on it and get a fifty percent off lift ride. If you just open the super happen the lift up notice that you were doing that. We all remember. That's it feels like that. Yeah so i do worry it. Sort of gimmicky.

Is This The AOL Moment?

"Right in. The moment has never been a good thing. So much as in inevitable thing is this. It are we there and if this isn't it then what do we think it'll look like when it does arrive. Yes we are definitely there. I think maybe we were even there before this at the last major run up in what was two thousand. Seventeen up to twenty thousand. We saw a huge unprecedented spike in new user. Adoption point awareness of bitcoin and crypto currencies spiked as well as the guidelines. The regulatory space became more kind of fleshed out. And you know sure. There were still plenty of half baked projects some of which turned out to be scams but i think a lot of people learn about crypto was the scams included in how to protect themselves from it and people are still learning about it so i think we've already sort of reached at least the first milestone. Aol moment. but i've been on this journey for a while. And i remember a lot of moments like this. You know that were exciting for example. I don't know if anyone remembers this. But remember when bitcoin got like this first article on slash dot twenty ten or something like that and i remember hearing about it on a talk radio show back in twenty eleven or twenty twelve i think from gavin andresen going on the show. So you know. I've seen a lot of exciting moments with quite disappointing moments too. But this does feel like a special moment that we haven't yet seen so far and i think it counts as the aol moment humbug. When do we go from banking the on banked and it's all about the other six billion to simpson for investment banking billionaires. I mean you know. I'm a bit disappointed. I think that happened the same time. Block streaming integrated tether probably. I know i know listen. I'm really happy that bitcoin is getting the attention. It's getting positive negative. And i'm really happy for a lot of people who waited very patiently and are seeing agree return on investment but at the same time like applauding j. p. morgan for finally finding in the pits of the dark saw the opportunity to praise an acknowledge bitcoin. Because it might make the money really. That's what we're doing a year ago or a little bit more than that the ceo. There was saying something really negative about big code but Bitcoin do you guys remember that. Yeah bitcoin is dead says j. p. morgan before saying it reaches one hundred thirty thousand sometime in the near future. How here's the thing as much as i'm excited about the excitement that everybody's excited about. This is really the kind of fickle attention that is going to go away as fast as they came.

And you have the most delicious pudding the caramel or or salted caramel whatever. It was and the banana flavor. Were out of this world. It was like heaven heaven in a little glass bowl and all the other children in the eighties. Were were eating that but the best of all legs gentlemen. Let me introduce you to via natta. Philadelphia Eagles hire Nick Sirianni to replace Doug Pederson as head coach

"We're gonna talk about the new head coach. The eagles tired offense former offensive coordinator for the indianapolis colts. Under frank reich. Nick syrian of course This is a this is a guy who i don't think many of us of before the last couple of weeks so this is certainly certainly football. Guys know who. Nick serianni is people who are who are living breathing and and eat this stuff. No hixon's but for the casual fan. There was no reason to think he would be on anybody's shortlist. Of course eagles didn't have a shortlist. They had a long list and we're looking at seemingly every coordinator under the sun here over the last couple of weeks but just before we get into the details. What are your general impressions of nick. Serianni your i feel like It's gonna be hard to judge him early on because first off. He doesn't have head coaching experience. So he's going to be learning on the job and second he's coming into a situation where The idea of molding a quarterback is going to be tough. because he's gotta figure out who's his quarterback and Is this a question of are. Are you fixing the guy that looked like the cornerstone franchise quarterback. Are you putting out fires inside a locker room because of Are we are. We going to have factions inside that locker room that wanna see carson wentz or jalen hurts or there's so many unknowns on who's going to be the starter in september that this guy has to figure out but at the same time he has to figure out his way through the entire locker room so the stuff i've heard from guys that i trust in the nfl Guys that i i. I've been texting over the last You know six months but also especially during the last week in the coaching search. The coaches that they interviewed. Just show me that The person that they thought they were gonna have wasn't the guy more Things have changed on the quarterback situation. And you know when you when you see the connection that frank right has and the influence that he has with nick siri auntie and conversation with carson wentz. You start to connect the dots. Oh they'll this would naturally make sense but at the same time. I don't think he was on many people's radars and I feel i feel like you know. I have some optimism. But i come back to one thing and and i haven't been this way john while when it comes to the eagles and it's really depressing and i wanted to depress our audience and it doesn't matter who you have as a coach if the coach doesn't have any sense of power of putting together a staff if the coach doesn't have Any any say or strong influence on how to build the roster that is what kind of free-agent as well as we're kind of draft picks and that was a huge issue with doug and buying when you win the super bowl away. Doug won the super bowl. I think doug deserves a little more Room when it came to influence. And if that hasn't changed from above doug With the gm. Then what are we talked about. We're talking about an owner. Gm that's going to have more say more control and the same thing that we've seen before and i've said this before during the entire Coaching search. Why would a head coach with experience or reputation or the The hotshot innovative Guy that's coming in like lincoln riley. Why would they come into this situation. If they don't have a sense of control of power so. I think it's very predictable that we're seeing first time head coach Because it was the same thing we saw with. Doug it's it's the same track record and if you are going to follow the same stuff. You're gonna continue. Repeat the same mistakes over and over again above doug on who is making the picks right clearly clearly that has not been resolved yet or at least not publicly on understanding power. We figuring out the talent pool because what we're doing right now or what. The eagles have done right now has not worked. And when you look back at specially going back the last six seven years

Gold Investor Peter Schiff Calls Bitcoin ‘Fool’s Gold’

"We've been talking about the The latest attack here on bitcoin by peter schiff who is just is not to change. He's decided he's going to be against crypto currency even though his own son has apparently embraced it and as recently called bitcoin. Fool's gold timing. It is quote never going to be money. It doesn't fit the very definition of money and What is the definition of my. That's what i wanted to get into here. According to invest a pedia dot com slash looked online for. You know what what was the definition of money. How do you how do you. How do you identify a thing as money. They say here that money should be a currency should be fungible durable portable recognizable and stable. So five different aspects here so they talk about fungibility they say units of the good should be relative uniform quality so they are interchangeable with one another if different units of the good have different qualities than their value for use in future transactions may not be reliable or consistent trying to use a non fungible good as money results in transaction costs of individually evaluating each unit of the good the foreign exchange can take place so is bitcoin fungible. I would say No because my even if i have one bitcoin and you have one bitcoin. We don't have necessarily the same bitcoin. No bitcoin could be tainted through criminal actions or through theft and so there's a company called chain license which they actually maintain record if she analysis or They helped the the prevent theft or now tracked down. If there's a kidnapping or a a robbery of some kind of crypto they help track it through the ecosystem. Because bitcoin is public because liberty and the blockchain can be viewed by anybody. How Desi Invented Television

"Does he says was born in santiago cuba rich powerful family. He loves to joke about it on old talk shows here. He is on the tonight show with johnny carson. My father was the mayor of my hometown. My uncle was chief of police. We had that town prewar really. My great grandfather was appointed mayor of my hometown by queen. Isabella way gone. I'm sure is that always makes you laugh. But there was a revolution not the castro one the one before that and the arneses fled to miami. Miami in the thirties is growing hugely and a young desi tries his hand at theatre and music and movies. Eventually he becomes a popular bandleader as well. This is the preview of a new ban. And we're confident that in a very short time you'll be hearing a lot more about desi arnez and his orchestra not just hearing about them dancing to them. Desi arnez started the craze of the congo line. Boop boop boop of robert. This is a scene from the movie called. Too many girls in the ad for it literally goes to many girls film on the arcadio sound lot in nineteen forty and in this same a young gorgeous desi arnez is leading a line of dancers to the congo. Now robert i do not wanna overestimate how crazy nuts. This scene is. It looks like i dunno. Imagine a halftime super bowl. Dance number with congas fire jugglers trapeze artists studying. There's no such thing as too many congolese. now now. this is just the movie version. In our memoir. He talks about how he would be playing a gig and how a conga line with breakout out and go through eight or nine different clubs in south beach with a line stretching for blocks and blocks the movie too. Many girls is notable for another fact. A co starred this up and coming red-headed comedian lucille ball. Desi by the way didn't get the girl in the picture he's as the eye candy. Lucy ends up with somebody else but on the set of the movie but two of them hooked up fell in love and would eventually marry. They set their sights on a way to spend more time together. That's two people in love. Did they wanted to do. And this was pretty new at the time a television show. Now i wanna take a moment to tell you what. Tv was like before. I love lucy. It was pretty close to people being just a cardboard box with a cutout they do little plays facing one camera and at the time most television shows were live and broadcasts from new york so tv was sort of like radio but with pictures and just as ephemeral they had this technology called kinase co which was a way of sort of recording a video screen and it looked terrible. Grainy and most importantly it didn't last they used to record the shows alive in new york and then replay them via kim scope three hours later in california could barely see it on tiny. Tv sets and then it would disappear but doesn't really wanted to capture the magic from the movies they had done. They wanted to make tv shows as good as a hollywood movie and they didn't wanna move to new york but i they had to convince the t. v. executives. This is not going to surprise you but there were no interracial couples on tv. In the nineteen fifties. Lucille ball had a popular radio. Show with a white actor playing her husband and as deputy tells it the tv execs. Were like wait. A minute why you do a tv show with lucy and that guy. The husband and the radio show was richer then was a tall blonde brew. I vice president of a bank or sometimes you'll be able to get away with that part you know. Say who the hell is going to believe this Baba loo pharaohs. yeah cheap. it american girl you know. Yeah he ain't. Bob lou fellow and she certainly is not a typical american girl so dizzying lucy decide. Hey let's go out and prove it. So they went on tour across the united states remembered as e is a bandleader. And so at the end of the shows lucy would come out and do little skits dot com now in this famous scene. Lucie is dressed as a showgirl and she's singing so every time she goes boom sticky. Boom she swivels her hips and every time she does disease hat falls off. I laugh every single time and across the country people love the real crazy chemistry between two of them proves to the television executives and the network sponsors that yes

Lisa Raymond on setting her own agenda

"All right lisa. Raymond welcomed tennis dot com podcasts. It is awesome to have you. Thank you guys for having me so much. Where in the world are you. Let's let's start with that hotel room. I know that shocking to people but Actually in baton rouge louisiana right now been working for the past year with alec and My old coach Andy brandy is the head men's tennis co-chair lsu and kinda long story but We're actually bringing them on To be part of the team so we're here Doing some training with him and he he's going to be a part of our team moving forward and It's been awesome. Been here almost two weeks now. And it's going to be one of our training bases now rally which is going to be great so So yeah that's why we're in baton rouge andy brandy the andy brandy as andy brandy. Yes very familiar to me names. There's only one. Andy randy will ever be one handy brandy so you love them or hate him and i've always loved them. It's true you either have these. Andy it's either. You have this unreal relationship with andy or you. Don't you know and he'd be the first to admit that he. Andy me the iranian. You know he'd be the first to be like you know. It just isn't working or at works and andy. I hit it off from the time. I was seventeen when i went to school. Went to florida and You know if there's one person in my career that i have. I owe pretty much everything to because of that foundation he built. It's handy so yeah absolutely. Oh that's amazing. You don't really hear very often. I guess sometimes you can hear about a player that can just have a very. That's i mean that's a lifelong relationship. Lifelong yeah but yeah. I mean he Again i mean he. I coached he coach me throughout my pro career on and off the end And then like. I said i mean he's family. I mean him and his wife and his son i mean we were just over there the other night for dinner and and hadn't seen them forever haven't seen as whites and it was just like yesterday. I mean they're just near and dear and Just really really special people. Were you always gonna jump into coaching. I think he finished up in two thousand fifteen th us open with madison keys as your last partner and then she would have been your first pupil in a way is that was that. Always the plan when you're playing. No it wasn't at all. I'm just kinda just happened Very good friends with lindsay davenport. And so lindsey was coaching mass in at the time and lindsay still playing two thousand fifteen and lindsay was just like look. I just. I can't really do this fulltime. Would you be interested in of coming on You know traveling with her some weeks if it didn't interfere with your doubles. Maybe you guys could place in doubles. It'd be great for her. And and so i was like yeah sure like you know it just. I hadn't really ever really thought about it. And then i did. I did think about it. And and i loved it. I love I love coaching. And i love just kind of Being part of a team in our party why. I probably did so well in doubles because i love being out there with somebody but So for me it was like a great segue from retiring. Because i literally went from the us open finishing my last match to five days later. I was in quebec city with madison. So it was like. I never really like had to put my rackets down and sit and be like oh my god. I'm retired here so see us do. That's kind of how just kinda leads dad. And and then. I took a break from coaching. And then allie. Approach me with this opportunity and jumped out. I mean least technically. You're not retired. You played last year. This is true this is true. This is true. Technically twenty thirteen was not your last match to good point and i plan on the i. I've got a few goals out there. That i still wanna possibly achieve so i So yeah so. I just to get in better shape. Get my butt out there and hitting a little bit more and But yeah no. I'm not totally retired. I guess you could say the one thing. I do want to bring to light. You said that you wanna get in better shape You went through a phenomenal transformation last year. And you still looked incredible. So thank you. Tell us about that. Because i remember kind of last year in colorado was the first time that being you kind of really got to know each other news mean from the last time i had seen. It's a different person. Well thank you. Thank you for saying that and Know it was. Just i have to i truly i hate to say it but i so much. Unit to allie. You know what. When i got to the upper take with her just kind of really took a look in the mirror and realize that you know i was just not happy with me how i was feeling and what i was doing and And as a coach. I just felt like too. It's like i need. I wanted her to be able to look at me and be like okay. We'll look what she's doing or look how good she looks. You know as far as fitness. And she's working her butt off you know and and I basically said you know. Look my fitness. 'cause she's a man you know i mean she's a she's unreal shape and under athlete and she loves her fitness. I was like help me with my fitness in my eating and unger out take care of your tennis and she was on raw the program she put me on. You know she was tough on me too. And i needed i needed to be pushed. I needed to know somebody to kind of guide me a little bit with my eating and and whatnot. And i mean she just she'd Her support was everything. And and then you know it was like i like how you just you see like little changes and you want more you want more and you start feeling good and i had goals and yeah i mean it was just one of the best things i've ever done and i just feel that still healthier and she'll good about myself you know so. So yeah i mean. I allies boot camp

"Boy how you doing girl was look i was like. How is it possible. That i'd never been on the purple pants. Podcast and i looked and it's true. Apparently it is that people say is true. I sat. i'm okay listen. Big brother was on sheets to hollywood. She you know y'all here losing way out here. Getting faith peel. I said oh bitch got a new face. She'll not old girls no more. Let's let me tell you. I know not only do not know the old girls anymore. But i know the new girl and that was so fun because i was. I was losing weight. People are saying stuff. And then i was. I was having my face. Did and i had my talks on filler on the whole time. I'm like well it's because of bitches single now pay single ready to mingle and of course now. The real story was doing it. Because i knew i was going to be on video and i was going to be on sequester season four but of course i couldn't tell them that at the time so it was a good cover story that i got dumped gas. All things considered the children's stadium ideas and the children's stay. Give little t so when i saw i said I know is she up to when they finally released. The i have to say your sequester main image gives me life. I'm like yes bitch. You better irving for the god for watts. Okay let me tell you. We did that. On thursday night. I got in on thursday night. I rode in the car with muna and josh and the funny part was there to members of the cast. I'll talk about them in a second. But i got i was in the car with them and they thought i was there to do interviews for our egypt. They had no clue that was on the cast right. I thought that was really fun. Indepth i walk into this mansion. We're in and we walk downstairs and get dressed and they have me do promo shots and they did this and they said we want you to do something with your hands and i had i know right they destroy you. Good with your hands right you know. It was a working boy for a long time. And so i. I was like i don't know what to do and finally somebody. Tr conradi suggested that. I do this thing with my with my hands. Sort of in front of me almost like i'm praying but i have my fingers pressed together and so that's what i did. They took a picture. They showed it to me right then and there and i was like. That's it that's it. that's because that looks hot. I didn't know that i was like yes. I was living for it but for some of the people that don't know tell us a little bit about the quest. And what can we expect for season four. Well i'm sure a lot of you have heard about the sequester minis that took place over the summer. Obviously bryce participated in a few of the media's that happened a lot of people in the survivor. Big brother community participated. They were a condensed format of the main show Sequester is a live. Show it airs on youtube. Usually on sunday nights and There is a grand prize of five hundred dollars. We're all paying for a well plan for twenty five hundred dollars. So there's there's there's no money in a mini price. I'm just gonna tell you that all right right exactly so but there is. There's money at the end of the rainbow here. it's where a certain number of cast members anywhere from thirteen to twenty get together. Audrey casten you know she makes this concoction of people and she puts them in a house and we play sequester. And it's just like the mini is where we have a twist every round that we have to confront and somehow overcome the thing. That's different from life. Sequester insofar as these sequester men's go is that there are battle match is now in the past. There have been different ways that you could encounter a battle match. Sometimes the person voted off gets to throw a couple of people into a battle match. Sometimes the person voted off gets to see who voted for them and gets to challenge from among those people for a battle match. Now this is season four so audrey has kicked up a notch. I can't tell you the t. sequester about has up their sleeves. Let me tell you. It is different than past seasons. And i just i'm gonna just You know i wouldn't just took the company line. Bryce i'd give you. The tea is amazing is so freaking. Good i can't wait and you know. Obviously i've been i've been using my mouth for the past five to six years on death laggy using the show. I've been telling people how bad they've been playing them and telling people how boring they are criticizing juries so obviously now i get i get my money. Where my mouth is. I get to eat my own medicine. And see if i can hang with the big boys and girls. So that's what i'm going to try to do and you're going to get to see how it all plays out. Yes i'm excited. You know i'm team brent. I got a couple of other people. I see my survivor. Sister is on there. I see my brother from new jersey out there. So you know you definitely are in my top three. Another thing that i noticed when i saw this casting because you nominee facebook group because i like to jump in and out one thing that i would love to give autry credit for is that and you know me. I've been a huge proponent of diversity and you know i've been speaking out and we actually got real change from cbs non scripted. tv shows. But what i was really proud of. Audrey was the diversity in this cast just like us. This is everything that i want to see on a reality show. I just have to sit my hats off to miss audrey because she did huffing and the casting department. It's just so many so many people that looked like me so many opposite people different backgrounds just so much as a literally a melting pot and it just makes me want to watch and so i am so excited and the minis really got me into. We play once. Baby boy made the jewelry. So take dead corgi on i. It really was fun. And sometimes on the weekends. When i went ahead and i would like log onto the question in washington. Minnie's on youtube. So i m show excited to watch and root for my people just sell the people where they can get it at when it come on like to say. Well i'll tell you the i. I'm so glad you brought that up about audrey and her casting because you know what there are more than fifty percents people of color and black people in this cast. Okay i was gonna say. Poc but there's no there's no beaches. There is more than fifty percents. Black people of color in this cast. And you know what. I also want to note something else. Did you notice. I didn't say shit about it. Audrey right how about if she didn't toot our own horn shaped say look at me. Look what i did. None of that like cbs. She just went out there and did it. The product out there and let the people see so i just to give her credit for that. She did that you. Obviously you brought up your survivors. Sisters sharon let me tell you. I was gagged green. Walked up the stairs. I can't tell you any more than that. But i was gagged. When she walked up the stairs. I knew there was going to be somebody from survivor or big brother in sequester house. But i wasn't sure who was going to be thought maybe a racial swindler maybe not I had a couple of ideas. You didn't think me okay did not i did. I thought you were busy time. I really did. I thought it was going to be jatiya. And then when sharon walked up. I was like i can't believe rain agreed to do this. That's so amazing..

"Were back six years ago. Oncogene and we broke up into our three selective tribes brain beauty and braun. Honestly the first thing that i thought of was i'm the only black person on this tribe and i'm the only gay person on this season from what i could quickly see from observing. Everyone and my first thoughts were. I'm going to be the first one voted out. And i don't know if because you know survivor again is streaming now on net flicks. I don't know if you could see my edit. But i worked really hard not to be the stereotypical gay man that has normally been seen on tv. And i don't know if you guys are able to see. But i when we were putting together our camp i between eljay jeremiah. I've probably got fifty percent of the bamboo. I was such an active member. I anytime we needed water. I would get everyone's can't teen goals to the water. Bring it back. I would stay up the latest and stoke the fire. Get up. I i would cook. I really wanted to show to my tribe. I was adding to it. That i was not. You know what you normally see as a gay man that has been shown on television like that was my goal and you know i guess people tribe eljay jeremiah. Saw that as a threat. But i don't buy that. And i don't think that they're bad people i honestly just don't think they have been exposed to other people like myself and so because i was so friendly and open and talking with them and talking with the girls they they immediately solid as a threat and told the story before. And i'll tell it again. Because i'm drinking. It crowned and apple juice. But anytime i get to go to charity events or i get the hang out with eljay jeremiah. When during the day we have an amazing time but at night if we go out if we have a cocktail spicy bracy always comes out. And i hold a little bit of resentment towards them and i always get a little combative and a a loving way and i ex. I say them but it's really eljay always eljay why. Why was it like you were a chance to me. And he always says i. I just couldn't trust you for me. Always hurts my heart. Because i know l. is a good person but i just always like what did i do that. Jeremiah did not do and boggles my mind. But i i. I realized that it's my otherness. It's that he he experienced more people like jeremiah. So that made him more comfortable. he's probably never had a relationship with somebody that looked like me. That sound like me from where i was from and he only had to go off of the stereotypes that are portrayed in the media and tv of gay black men that they shady. You can't trust like you know what i mean and for me. It always sucks that. I feel like that had a part in my survivor experience. However i don't choose to allow that define much survivor experience. I choose to define my survivor experience. As bad i got to play and out a dream and win or lose. I'm excited that. I was able to be a part of history not only in the fact that you know i got to play. But and the fact that me speaking out about my experience with countless other survivor players. That look like me. We actually change. The course of the show and you know survivor has committed to moving forward fifty percent by pop and i really feel like for players like me. That understand what it's like to live in the margins ca. Some people just don't understand it like for me. That's my life. that's where i live. I'm openly gay black man. So i'm used to not being heard i'm used to not being seen. I'm used to people making fun of me. I'm used to people not taking me seriously. I'm you. I'm used to all of that. Some people aren't and i get it some people. Don't get the fight. They don't get the walk. That i walk but what i am. So blessed is they're moving forward the next gay black man that again. I'm just specifically speaking to myself. 'cause i'm excited. For any of the people of color. They get to play any of the black indigenous people colleague. Get to play. But i specifically me and my lance. I'm just excited that the next openly gay black male that plays or black que- Whoever however he chooses to identify himself that he might have an ally the he might be on the try with somebody that knows somebody like him and recognizes that what you see on. Tv the negative portrayals is not true and he might be able to go far and for me soleil. Death warmed my heart. Makes me excited. Rejuvenates me to watch the show. And so that's just my two cents on whatever whatever whatever but again i'm not saying anybody on my tribe is you know i'm not i'm not saying anything negative about anybody or my tribe. I'm just selling my experience. I shouldn't feel guilt. And speaking my truth but i appreciate your listening and i appreciate y'all but and then them purple pants pinpricks and just a reminder. If you're picked didn't get picked this week. Do not worry. Every saturday on braces instagram and twitter at brace isaiah. That's b. r. is e e is e. y. a. h. bryce posts. The purple pants picks. And it's your chance as the listener to get your pick in tune in next week to see fear. Purple pants pick.

So not like the gam souffle with the marshmallows on top if the candy yams with molasses black not black a brown sugar. it is the crown royal. Blame window the to say crown royal but you could probably put a little crown royal in near the brown sugar maple syrup and butter and you cut you. Boil them you boiling. I don't need air condition and at the time i don't need heat i can just roll down my window or roll my window up and i'll pay for their gas bill so i really love the summertime but sometimes eludes hot and baby. I'm prone to sweat. So i love the fall when it's like warm but cole and i love the spring. When it's like not to coal but it's just you wear your low coochie cut his shorts if you want to wear your shorts with a hoodie on. So that's really would be my favorite time of the year. And i oftentimes think about relocating. Because the way mental health set up and i am self diagnosed with like season affective disorder. Where i feel like when the sun is not out shining bright you know for long periods of time and it gets dark and like three o'clock i go into a depression and i really do feel like i need a change so that is something that i do want but you know it was hard for me because i feel like my family but i feel like those are excuses however off topic because this is the crown royal in apple juice speaking. "I like the fact that they obey hold snowflakes so not much has really happened but we do get to see a little bit of mary and and and i imagine i watched the previews and like you know. I follow these instagram accounts. That like you know. Show us the previews for next week. And so i'm excited to hear more about area step grandfather. That's just like so weird to me like well. Did you hear the conspiracy. Oh her in. The grandfather plotted and got away with that. The reason why. There's no mom anymore. Because they took care of it and they got the will bequeathed to them. Oh wait no hold on wait with the mom grandmom. No i think a that. Mary was messing around with the grandfather. They got rid of mama and they made let mama put not. Don't wait. what's the name of that movie. Don't momma killed on the train. Kill mama on the train or no. It just seems a little sketchy i mean who leaves a an entire church like a big church like google. It like there's tons of stuff about it and your your husband to your grandchild. I don't know like my grandma's boyfriend right now seventy three. I don't know a little too old for me. So i am curious to learn more about mary. I don't know. I like. I wanna like mary. Sometimes i even in the fight with her and jin when they were going back and forth like mary up. Just how the girl you sorry and meet it that way like why are you making it about you and i really think that. That was the issue between marion. Jen was that jazz all about her because clearly. She's throwing a birthday party for meredith and all about jensen. I just felt like i don't know she just felt like mary was taken something from her but mary is. Just so wound up like she's even talking through gritted teeth half the time like she hiding something and i want to know what our basket moved. Not too garo basket. But the last little bit of drama. That i thought was interesting was when they went to the ski slopes they really were. Kind of like hammering. Get whitney kind of like i guess meredith was like you know. Maybe you should talk. To lisa whitney every like you know have a conversation. So of course and true bravo fashioned. Why not. what's the best time to talk to. Somebody is when we all sit down and so again in opportune time. Whitney brings this up to lisa again. We get super defensive. And i just feel like i don't likely but i kinda was still her a little bit like girls like why are you bringing this up like why even say like you know. Thank you and goodbye. Like i can understand where whitney was coming from and so i just thought it was interesting because you the cannot wait to jump in to that conversation like hard faces during that conversation were amazing because she just could not wait to answer herself. She's just like well. You know you you you say you didn't remember so like like i just really want to just like call. Jin had there and give her a shave lesson. Because it's like you are giving lisa extremely too much power over you baby girl and i really feel like less is more and i think another thing that struck me as interesting was the fact that least the text had. They're like the night of the party was coming to the party girl so i don't know what do you meet air. Oh other like they clearly will send each other thumbs up texts and i just also lisa like i guess she said to jane like you know there was a good time girl and heather's like are you kidding me. I would have never graduated if i did that. Like first of all girl. I just feel like that's the stretch grow you could show you'll titties in a dorm room and nobody will ever know and you still graduate so i just don't feel like they had there's like excuse for it's like i took an oath. I would lie girl. That'll mean people take all the time and they don't hold it so not to say that there was a good time girl but reasoning for not being a good time girl. It ain't flying with me. And i feel like it might be some truth to this story now. I wanna know the it. Heather tiding secrets. I wanna see it. But i think at the root of it is she's a little bit upset that leases the girl in town and that she claims she didn't know how they're from back in the day when she was a little less lesser person in the mormon community. But hey jealousy is jealousy and it seems like it's going to be a season-long feud between the two of them and i'm ready for it and i want to like heather and i wanna to be on their side of the feud but from the clips that i'm seeing is just really giving me that. Like heather is mad and like you're giving the power to at least like you're allowing lisa to be that bitch to you because at least the the exact amount of shade it's like there has to realize that girl like even at that party i would. I would have never even spoke to you. I would've i would've saw you. I would turn to other way and walked other way. Like girl she damn near through meredith son out the way just like say hi to her and she played her so i mean. I don't know it's just this season interesting. I can't say that i love it. I don't want to say that. I hate it. But i'm like somewhere in the middle of i. Just kinda sorta liked to watch the weird awkwardness. What are your thoughts. It's just it's so insane and like heather said there's a lot of latitude for weird stuff in utah in salt lake city. So i don't know how we can get crazier than hospital gate. The petty fights that. We've seen lisa calling whitney a swinger. Didn't even know there were like. There's just such crazy stuff that i feel like. I have to tune in for the rest of the episodes no matter what the definitely and that was another thing because then that was another thing. Because i felt like i felt. Like whitney almost was kinda sorta like a meeting that she was a swinger hard. Not saying that she like she just put too much emphasis on there. But i definitely did not like the fact that lisa allegedly threatened tarlac gird. You keep talking about my business. Then i'm gonna tell you what bar up the street told me that you or your husband be opened in dole to your bedroom lisa. Worry about feeding your kids not taco bell breath and we'll get back to that but it you can you get me a contract supreme and a baja and why i was screaming when she ordered there baja blast from taco bell. I don't know if you've ever had it. It's like the blue mountain dew but oh it tastes batteries. I feel like it's like a zip. No it's as good. It's like a blue parts. That's when i thought. I was going like lisa too early to tell i feel like we need a couple more episodes because i feel like lease is going to be the villain early on. But then she's going to be like a kyle richards villain where you actually kind of enjoy of like a right well. This was so much fun. Thank you so much nicole for coming off real quick to just talk about all things real housewives of salt lake city now. Let's purple pants past the baby boy to continue to talk about salt lake city. Let me know if you think you can help your baby boy cover salt lake city. Then you know what to do. Dm me send your baby boy message. Slide escapes to ski snowboard on thought lake city. And let me know but before we go nicole where can people follow you if they want to know more. See what you tweeting about. One salt lake city. Hey so. I am on twitter at behind the secret. And you'll see me on there with all of my heartaches thinks nicole for having me. I'm gonna give you thumbs up. How dare you. That was another very thing they were like really going back for but before we got out. I thought it was so funny. They're like you. You gave me a thumbs up. Had the and she's like well. What do you mean. I didn't mean anything she left. You know comes up me at you. And then i loved in the confessional. They're like heather. Did you up as like act solo. I didn't know about that but next time about either. I'm like i thought was the middle finger an emoji for that now wine as well use it. I'm about to start texting robber. All of gonna start testing or fixed. i have seen. He'll i have no idea about little expires spires back. Thanks nicole. I i permitted and we are on my favorite segment of the podcasts. "As love you. Okay i won't forget. Children are the fashion. i will not forget. Whitney's name now wit me gotten so argument that lethal because at whitney's ten year anniversary and looked like lisa gifted them some of their tequila and whitney was like. Hey i just wanna let you know that you know some of your bartenders. Got a little drunk at you. Know they're a glass everywhere and yet like we ran out of liquor by like six pm. And lisa did not take too kindly to that. What was your thoughts on that. Like interaction. nicole. I didn't think that was the appropriate time to bring it up. And if we're going to do it on camera when else but i do think that lisa should have taken these concerns more seriously because your employees are reflection on you and your brand. So if you're if you're bartenders are getting drunk on the job. I feel like you need to deal with that with them. I don't know if they should have done it on camera. But i don't know lisa getting so defensive about it was not really a great right so it's like i'm not a huge fan of lisa but i feel like this is what i was trying to figure out because it looked like i don't know whether or not if the bartenders were employees of lisa or whether not she just hired bartenders four whitney's event but will have to give it to leaf in the sense. That like really whitney like first of all girl. If i gifted like it'll matter what i gifted you and it doesn't matter if it ran out like all you have to say thank you so much so i did think it was like a little tacky for her to be like like it ran out and they were like okay girl deal with be like you got free liquor drink and get drunk egg. Glass gets broken so i did feel like it was like ruth tire and rightfully so a look like lisa. Call her after. She left the party and hand to her ass in the phone and rightfully so. Because i just feel like if that was really the issue like don't mess with my brands like you could've you could've text me but me was one of my friends. Did that and like bought me like i. I have never brought that up and especially not on camera so that seems to be like we can kinda sorta see who the sides are and looks like now who to grow. I keep telling her jin. Her name jin was to grow name. The other brown hair grow not married if we just talked about her before. Who is with the crony harry. Had their had the had the so. It looks like heather. A whitney are kind of sorta joining forces and you talk about what they don't like about lisa ads. you know. It just seems like you know there's just like you're just recognize me. She's so smith it all. It is good stuff so they go skiing now. I was really here for the skiing outfits. The chanel definitely came with the zebra nail. My thing is. I me. And i haven't been skiing in such a long time and normally when i go to the ski slopes outlets. They gave me the hot chocolate. And put me on the tube and let me just go to for a little bit. Because that's really like maija jr but i was so shocked to notice that like these women with the most expensive outfits like girl you on the you own the bunny slow like what are you know. They're getting lessons. They just wanted to be with the hot ski instructors. I don't blame me now. I ain't even mad at that. I listen i've listened. Let me get low hot law zadie to teach me how to ski and so they went skiing and it looks like after i forget who. The girl that was tele whitney like i really don't think lethal meant it like dat now was that that has to be married because ben and lisa. They're joined at the hip and meredith. Has her own issues going on that. We didn't even get into this. Listen first of all meredith is on the show. Pretended like she may every a husband is like we now. We're separated and let me see your phone america. i'm not i you're i would never look at your phone girl open. Who who day in okay. Well scott must've been deleting his messages confident there has to be some sort of side chicken chicago waiting for him in the other room. He's probably face timing her and then goes into the other room and says hi honey and exercise right because their relationship does seem a bit weird to me that he's like nonstop in chicago. But i definitely did get from this episode that he wants to make it work. I'm assuming a but i don't know mair now. I like meredith. I really really do by sneaky vibes for meredith regarding husband. Yeah no something doesn't sit right with me with scott married his hair so big. It's same but this shining star of last week's episode was mayor sign. Oh my gosh. He took the semester off the school. Just confess and it looks like in the previews that we got. He's mixed up in the drama to like he don't like certain ladies and he'll want certain ladies coming to his house. I'm like okay. Maybe boy is not playing is giving the very much. Remember when ashley pulled. Danielle stops hair at the core runway show. It's giving me very much of that. And i hope he doesn't pull hair but i wanted to ask. I would love to be here for because he could be date need at him as a housewife. Okay not even a friend of the show he's definitely giving me marlo hampton vibes from atlanta. Definitely game..

"And listen obama. See you next week on this or on it. May mega mega mega mega mega make saw by keeping the ming role in. I am excited to talk about this new housewife franchise. You know real housewives of salt lake city and the other day. I just tweeted out. Say who they watch. The real housewives salt lake city and welcome on the purple pants. Podcast in chat with me. You know 'cause we go to get the in. I value my posse eh. You know none other than nicole horne. Hitch a baby boy up so yes nicole. Welcome to the podcast. I am so excited to be here. I am bravo excited to dive into all things. Salt lake city. I feel like we've known these girls forever already. And it's only been two episodes at me kind of no one but i kind of feel like the neighbors that i like. Roll my eyes. When i'm getting into car and i'm like i said this on the last podcast so i mean i like real housewives of salt. Lake city is very problematic but also very entertaining at the same time. But i really do feel like these housewives. They have a coin like they're not like faking to make like really feel like they got money. Like what do you think. Do you really think they have like i. I just get money from them. But what i mean and they have big houses. I mean i don't know what the land value is in utah but it seems pretty high might have to go there yes. They wear name brands. But i can't say the name. They all wear in the name brands. You might wear a name brand. But you ain't wearing a name brand selanne. Said she said money can't buy you clough okay. Laura by class ll against us learn math friend okay. I love it when she bought. Oh yeah but so i. Kinda briefly talked about salt lake city last week and so it was just a lot at one of my favorite people that i liked so far. I believe her name was is the who to lady bird has the she was married so mormon royalty edge in. I think no jan is married to the muslim guy. So that's the way way. Oh yeah okay yeah. No jen jiang it on my nerves a little bit. I i can't say carcinogen through marriage if the party but it was really jen's party and then so we can just get right into this into hospital gate. Okay so jen you know. Her aunt got amputated and she came around the girls and mother. Mary with hospital and jen got so upset. And you know she was talking to mary about it and you know i really was team mary in that situation like i feel like mary was like i didn't say anything about your on. All last say was there is smell like hospital and this smell like hospital. I'll absolutely team mary here. I mean i know that everybody's family goes through hardships. I know but mary how traumatic experience in the hospital. She wasn't saying the gen smelled like hospital. She smelled it set. It smelled like hospital in here and it was a misunderstanding. Gen took way out of the fortune. Well i mean she kind of was engine smell like hospital because she came from the hospital but it was it like it wasn't like mary was all your art. Lost like no. She was just saying that she had a traumatic experience with the. But i thought it was so funny when like jen went into her room and all of the girls came and then mary like followed by. Mary has no she has zero fucks given like. Maybe just walked up in there and was just like what's the problem. I don't understand the problem ahead. Jen was just like just going off for no reason. So i'm like jen. You little team much for me. But it's giving me very much caroline manzo. You must with me you mess with my family. My family worth biggest thieves yet. No it was too much for me. And then mary rolls into the and her. Like last season. Valentino looking like a christmas tree with a thick black bra straps. She goes what did i do. What's the issue here and just like seasoning the mouth she's like foaming right. It was mary stockings for me did grow. Why do you have on these white stockings. Ms mama's take him off so lady. That i was talking about that i liked is what's had there so i like had their i feel like how there is like the emotionally unstable one and i really feel like she wants to be like she wants people to like her. But i feel like you're trying too hard had there. I had a neck. I feel like i just get. I get the feeling that heather is like the black sheep of the housewives of salt lake city. And she wants to fit in and we see she kinda sorta forms an alliance. Now who that other girl would just got. Remarried was already married but the scandal in the mormon church. So that's whitney and their cousins. So it's kind of a family thing where they're kind of align because they're like fourth cousins like white back in the day everybody in salt lake city appears some sort. Their friend survive but their friends as well. Her name is whitney whitley. Whitney whitney okay. So i like to wit me and i thought it was interesting. And who does she have the alcohol conversation with so her father was addicted to painkillers so in mormon church apparently they believe that drug addiction is a result of a person's choices so there's actually a big addiction issue. Her father was able to get help. Whitney stood by his side. So i think we got to see a really nice side of whitney and it was just nice to see an episode. More focused around her because we only got a little bit of her in the first episode. Correct but it definitely was her. Dad's black hair dye for me. Like i'm like baby bull. Your hair is not there. Blake but you now. I'm happy recovering from your addiction. Now i was saying that whitley got into it with it wasn't married if it was who does she get lisa lisa now. They look exactly this. Do an i- low key. Like i like meredith and i like her son so i keep. I was getting them confused by baby. So whitley at least got into it this week because i guess for whitley. Am i saying her. name right. Whitley whitney whitney houston okay. Yes absolutely will low.

"I i love love so i i'm sad but now the question is who is your new leo and so i think roger that's easy for me because i was thinking about this. I'm a guy who had to gary. In bird like the last on my totem pole. And then it's a tie between issoire in a partner. And i'm i'm going to probably say will james only because the sisters really have the fact that they came back wife the fact that they use to the. He'll like you know i like. I'm really rooting for them. And nobody's helping them. And you know what i actually don't go into each other. We'll i don't mind the teams helping each other really but this was the first leg where they really showed their abilities all on their own even in the back even having a roadblock four times in berlin even having to like with the speed and nobody nobody helping them they still keep in fifth. It wasn't even. They squeaked by without being limited. They still be another team. So you know what girls bring it home. I'm here for. I'm ready for this. A mega leg in thirty two seasons. They've never had a meg double distance double detour. Double roadblocks all in one hour. I'm in india van. Imagine that's like literally india. Like i was supposed to go to india this summer. Like twenty one summer but i'm not sure if like be able to go me and my travel partner. Were just talking about that. But anyway but yeah. I'm excited. I'm excited to see whether or not grandpap brooke com or school for buy. Yes thank you so much brooke for having the not against india. I just wanna say they ask you when you're like conditioning. Where's the one place you really wanna go and the one place you really don't wanna go and for me. I was worried about india. Just because furniture reasons one. Just the sheer time squareness all. There's just so many people in such a small space and in previous seasons there have been some issues with especially some of the women contestants not feeling super super safe but about banned more so for me. There's so many like.

"To st unnecessary taxes are and literally many drinking's thumpers always gone to text. So in this moment i would have been so good and mine. June can linger inner barbara chang and just getting into the middle of the street stop and a taxi and also i'm from the city of philadelphia and in other urban cities. I don't know a lot of people might notice reference and a lot of the urban cities there is also a thing called a and that is you'll see a lot of hacks at like the growth restores and they are unofficial cabs and so a lot of like grandmoms older people. They're like. I'm just going to get to the grocery store and it's literally like your neighborhood person who has a car and you pay him five dollars. They'll take you to the grocery store and wait for you. Bay out been in catholic stan. Getting me a sixteen hack. Okay listen i got this. Take me here so they you know. They're struggling and i really liked that. Because i hate it when they get out. This is another pet peeve that i wrote on my notes thanks broke with that. I hate when they run out. And there's like seven taxes. They're like well. That's not fun. Like you know. Like i think of when you go to like new cities new places like you gotta find the takes the so anyway. They struggle with the taxis. You know willing. James shot to them. They got their first. My baby riley. My brother-in-law got their second. She got there. And de ngelo in. Charlie will think they're four and e th-wa in killen inhaling a haley got the i was like and much when they got there. I knew i knew i knew. The titanic had shocker. Okay and i knew. He'll capri okay. Got pushed off that doorknob and was thinking in the ocean. And then my e soi and aparna got there.

"With against the wall they day called my neighborhood crossing gar. Her name was barbara wong sheen. She came out in the middle of the street. Okay water the red light was red green. All the cars was driving through myth. Barbara wong shing shout out to harm crossing guard from third fourth and fifth grade. I used to get a christmas. Gives me and my mom about her candles. But anyway that's not part of the story. We call barbara wong. Shang the car was driving speed and by she came on out her crossing guard sue and she held up the yield side and bay. This yield really saved the sisters because had they not done the yield alana. And i'm about to leo. What actually pretty good at this channel is like through bigger out the the head. I'm like ooh chat into macho now. I now for everybody that thinks. I always hate on leo in the lineup. Now at one point. I was like order. This won't be some shit because they didn't got twenty minutes. You'll blocked and they won't get past the sisters. That's what i was thinking. And i was even an event happens. I was like this is. This is even better. Tv lack you know what i mean so jillian wanted to stay. I mean before the reaction up because of the fact that the sisters you call barbara walk sheena yield them and they didn't yield and they got past this. So at that point in time i low key was ruling for leland align of all you. People just think that i hate only online. No i don't because then i was like okay. They'll be on for another episode. That i can yell at them. But their demise bay the sisters beat them and this is another one where the taxis were a huge issue and this is not the word texas where so then after you got done the putting together right zeleny bizarre giant like this is where the meat market was now. Now here's another question for you is no hungry and i'm like oh like you know you got a little bit of money. Can i have bought a quarter appeal to me and barbeques at a hotel like you. Could you race. You can use your race by my anything you want. I if if i'm being wendo and you go to a slap you upside that. Because i need to save every dr because you never know when you're going to need the money but we i don't drink coffee but scott did and so the role was like you could buy yourself one cup of coffee if we weren't like at a hotel where you can get free. Get as much free as you can. If you really need it you get one cup. Beg them for free refills. That's so you save your dollars. You're not buying a quarter pound of go.

"Or yours has should be figuring like i feel like the person that's down at the bottom or like you know that's waiting your task should be paying attention and also thinking three steps ahead like okay. Where does texas like you know what. I'm like always been like okay. It's not a lot of texas so maybe we'll be done. We've gotta move to the right to let. I'm just always thinking three steps ahead. What my my notes say boko. Here's where i started really rooting for and haley. Let's we got hundred gone. Medicine rallied on william james. Gone gary harrier god and then you have three teams left now. We don't know if this is gonna be an elimination or nomination but we do know. There are three teams racing for laughs. At this point leo and alana each martin appanah parner decide to work together. Because they're they're at the same time apart cannot for the life of her figure out sauerkraut. Say decide to work together. It's good for because leo figures it out. So they're sitting. They don't climb the building eighteen times because they know they got the letters and they're sitting there just trying to like work it out. I like that nerds working together. I'm a nerd. i'm into it. They did smart but then as they're leaving haley shows up and this is where leona. Lana who are working with killer. Haley haley's like is it hard and like it's hard but you'll get it. It's hard and he might have said something about their letters doesn't say the answer and people were a little salty. He didn't give haley the answer. But honestly i wouldn't give haley answer. She was last. If you're racing last all bets are off as far concern. Chew true but did they roll black. Did they.

"And we're harry. Goes i and it gets the bottom and this woman at the bottom says okay. Tell me the answer. And he goes well. What are you talking. What answer there were letters as you climb down the building flashing letters that you needed to unscramble to give her the answer to the word jumble at the bottom. He had no clue but they didn't tell you which. I like right and you had to be observant and see. I was putting my mind and be a window playing baby. I was the customer out. 'cause i could just see myself going beyond right now. Looking enough in just green mcreilly will is clothes exactly so usually i don't know what you're talking about. How is right behind him. He and she hasn't gone yet so gandules climbing up for the second time climbing for the first time that he says to her. Because they're in this alliance together says we have to unscramble some letters and so she says if i get it i'll wait for you and tell you the answer. So she's sterile but she gets. The word is sauerkraut letters. And they're not flashing in the right order but it turns because it's german word. That's in english to sauerkraut. So how walks down. She gets it then. She waits at the which okay. I'm okay the shoe it personally. If it were me i would let me answer. Handed it to gary and said we're outta here. She waited and she waited and then she. I think she did something kinda stupid. This so there's a lot of drama going on right now on social media talking about whether she should have waited. Let me tell you what happened before before we talk about drama diangelo gets down. Hung says itself crowd. She gives him the answer. He tells the judge and then hunch decide. They're going to wait for it that or they're gonna wait for madison and riley who are next. Someone's going to give them the answer or they give it to riley because madison's walking down whatever anyway drama part is de ngelo gerry who came down after hung and she took the only cab that was there. They took the cab they left. I and people like they shouldn't have stolen the cab. There was only one cabin. Can first of all you could tell. The angela. And gary did not do anything maliciously..

"She just said that her photos aren't the best and she said it directly to care. Okay hang in here. Had plastic ashley. What do you mean ashley said. It writes the campus face. Like you said robin said it right to face that like. It just didn't work. That point was she was not taking those girls for beauty. She was nine casting them for beauty. She was casting them for their reputations and so she should have just said that. Here's his co. girl. That was the case. She should've worn cairn before it came out. But whatever i mean up. Here's the thing grow. Say for the bryce twenty twenty one growth. A calendar grow committed a trash photo. This show represents rapper. Too told me first of all you wouldn't let me know trash photo. I mean that. I mean like you took the photosynthetic me and they were not good. I would have robin. Dixon's you i would let you know like grew is let me say you. No you wouldn't. I knowed i know you would not have happened sir. I'm just gonna keep it moving on this by gas. I'm just begging girl. Cut okay but it can buy you a damn photoshop. You need to hook up. Okay got it or you. Don't and karen habit. She just did all right so moving on another thing that i wanted to discuss in this episode is the fashion. So i have to say that. I'll give it up for candidates. She totally won the fashion show in portugal. She was killing it so she had on very than sushi. Had a white bathing suit where she came to lunch one day and then she also had the pink one piece loved both of this. She was killing the highways. Which i think as a black woman is kind of hard to pull up because you know we already got the hips. Oh and then yeah and then she also killed it at the dominatrix party party. She had cheeky cheeks out. Yes and cute cheeks today was asked for it. I mean they don't have nothing on mine but she definitely was a little cheeky cheeky cheeky. Now the other bomb dropped. That i thought was so interesting on. This episode was very clear that karen You know she's moving on from the dom and she is. You know sh sure we. A bang has a wig line. You know now. I've seen cairns wig line and it's it's in all the stores now like you know you go online. You do see her. Wig line so Perhaps to that. Like i never dom in the store. Well adamas at bloomindales. You know but she very clearly says to the girls. Monique is not invited. Then we see on next week's episode that monique incomes and karen says. I never said that so i am really excited for to see the drama that with and have really you know go back and forth with you on what will happen with all of that. But i'm really have to say. I'm very interested in and the real housewives of potomac postseason. They definitely bringing the heat and the smoke. I agree so i also since we're talking about fashion. I just want to give a boo of the week to There was an outfit. That was very unfortunate. The dominatrix party and that would be giselle. And those control topos. Did you not see those control tap holes like new you supposed to wear the sheer to waist. Hose boo boo. When you wear short pants and stuff like that and like her like control group like i understand. There's some maybe some bricolage in your upper thigh area but this is not the time to bust out the super control panel tops. So i just want to point that out before we move on from that but yes i am so interested and the real housewives it is heating up. I can't wait to see what happens at the whigs shift party. I see mony coming back. She's not looking very remorseful which is not a good look in my opinion. So we'll see you done already already. Dropped a bomb new late boo. Okay grew and i'm re. I'm marie drop boom boom but have an amazing thanksgiving. Thank you so much for having me and you know and boom boom and me and also huge out suggests here serving in the bryce as eight. Twenty twenty one rural stomach. Hamlin did not have robin dixon higher. But i would never because one thing's for certain things for sure. He knows her angles. Yes catch yes we out talk to you in two weeks. Happy gobble gobble yes thanks purple pants posse.

"Your heart's in philadelphia right now. You would be candidate. I will be more say. He waved the butterfly face grow. I cannot believe just character assassination and he liked or my bag was going and to honey. That is so funny so yeah okay she do whatever i'm over it. I guess that's my boy. I'm over. I know you bad way. You may get great. Here's and we moving on and going about our business. So she i think look she told the girl to a face it wants them sn h. It was okay. I mean look whatever again. Guess i'm loyal to my friends. I do some snake shift for you. I mean an but see. That's the part that i feel like you're missing. I get it like an. I appreciate that even though as your friend. I'm not gonna ask you to do snake. S for me beginning to ask. I mean it's tough child. You bloop. I appreciate that but it does bother me. So i'll i will. I'll i digress ashley. Edm no ties the hand in the dark. Dark coochy cooed. Dirty dirty kuti darby. Okay but i already darby offer like how in this episode candice dig her together because when she was describing the alleged threesome she had a husband do girl a different concert than when she actually told her original. Story that Okay ashley darby trying to be frequently week now. Let me also gather your favorite personal in this way just before we go on. I just want to say congratulations ashley. Darby is having another little boy. So i just want to put that girl getting them titties. Ready put them work. Y y y pitch. I'll tell you the smoke before. I know it was good. It was so good. I don't like milk. But i my breath like this. No shave to you. But it if he's like anything. I mean i've i remember. We were like avenue. Ain't got nothing to say to them like. No i was like well one. I didn't think that you actually like accept my challenge. But she was like scheffler and pour some in like a little thing. We were in virginia. Should see party but that was just random. But also let me just gather your dom. Okay i just want to say. Karen is winning the season. But yeah i go ahead. I'll take that as a no Like i was saying. This is my issue with karen is that you are trying to play both again. My whole issue. With ashley and karen is like just pick a fi. Just say that you are team. Monique and the only reason that you are you in trying to play the middle by as that you wanna fill with the girls because other girls have made it clear they messed up with monique but anyway but so. Here's my issue with karen. His acting like she's playing the middle but she's really not and she's clearly biased. And that's the only thing i have to say like. You're not being a good friend. You're not still out. I won't say that she's not being a good friend candidates. This is what i will say. You are being a better friend to monique. Okay i think that actually would be okay with that grump about karen. I think everybody. Who's not okay with that. I think you in kansas. And what's her name with the big ass bo. You know what. I'm talking about wendy. You yada only people who who do. I like the more and more. I get to see a windy. Windy and liking. Windy sticking up for candidates as well. And i'm like a hard thing about. Oh so you're right in a character. Assassination and and also when he is weak we windy has no storyline. She has an a girl. Do you need another teaspoon. Do you need another teaspoon. Aweso while i have your attention. I wanted to say that they answered our question. Remember we were talking about. Kansas is single. And i was like well. I looked on lie so literally. Which is this weird like. Not and again so just so you know they were listening. Do you think they listen. And then they went back and re edited because you know i do have some executives at high networks that listen to the purple posse. But here's the thing. Without i will just say i think it's really bad for business. Her candidacy is that obviously was in the studio recording. Her gogo remix. Of when i see you or whatever the name is they just released it because it came out twenty nine thousand nine hundred and i just think that's so weird are like i. I think that's good business results business. Is you release it. When it's on the episode. She needs to have she needs. She needs to take a class. A candy coated nights. Okay canning code eight for best. Buy me because. I'm not even a big fan of candy but i just i just thought it was so weird like girl and you know me i have. I know a thing or two about releasing music. I know a thing or two about charting music. Okay what you're looking for is still available on islands spotify. Okay the beckham uncle kooky truck if you need it down which was the cross street crenshaw and butterfield bom and bryce isaiah is releasing 2021 however wait till we get in the studio oh coming but i'm just saying i just thought that was weird girl like in promoting the song just weird at the end of the day it is what are the would you upon the is released thinking up on me at the end of the day. I really like darby for the show. I just think that ashley. The mother and the evolution of ashley. Not a fan of the and i will say this what i would say about karen. I love to hate karen. I think karen is. She stands her ground. Whether i agree or disagree with the isles. Love to watch karen. I love to see. Karen prochet. And i was telling you this in the week. Karen was all wendy williams and bay. She was throwing major shade. At bell and robin robin did not include her in her embellish line and i actually thought that was not not not at all. She just said that her photos aren't the best and she said it directly to care. Okay hang in here. Had plastic.

"Hundred and how many degrees degrees that. Obviously vodka right. I'm sure your attorney could have subpoena bravo and got the vet footage of monique in. Can't this and put it into evidence like the fact that she want to like. Wendy said snake around and acts ashley to do. There is like beth that pisses me off. And then for my thing is ashley own. It say okay. You didn't said your point because you got an down the road ahead my address you down the road round the next block so let me go here to get my point in their dopey all unkown so my point is that actually did it for her friend and let me tell you something. Maybe it was shady. Wouldn't who whoever whatever let me tell you something. Maybe you my friend bryson. You want me to tell somebody else who we can. No maybe sort of cool with you. I'm gonna tell it all. I'm loyal to this oil as some people say But i i don't care you my friend i got your bag and that's loyalty and i don't care what the girl got to say about it and i would boss the f. up and tell you to your face. What ideas ain't no shame in the game. So let me tell you if you need a character fascination for something that's true it ain assassination if it's true honey. So the way she away the butter butter knife. Well let me tell you. Som- let me tell you. Tom if you need if you if somebody wave a knife in my face in the damn right right letter for you and that's all i'm from philly will will talk to the popo if i'm going to get in the fight i'm going to get in a fight win or lose that said point blank period. Okay i know what you're saying is Canvases rafa and charts. And then i go say. Don't talk show or take me that you write a character. Assassination for me i. I'm not talking about them. What i am saying is is that candidate had every right if she be okay she molly walked you girl at you on national tv at you. Know she tried it. And she's on social media bragging about it. Oh baby i would absolutely do. But i'm gonna put that on pause. And i'm gonna get back to ashley because i'm not done. Dragging her milk. Bubis lee out of it. That is nature that is known from your body so we just lead a breast milk added say. She goes while she pumping milk. I'm going drag her because here is literally what it boils. Down for me is is that you are you and candidates. Yes he had. Your issues and monique is taking full advantage of that. So one see what monica's doing. So i just want you to see that to you and candidates are working on your relationship however when you wrote that character assassination business the only business if ashley this then i would not be on this. Microphone screaming at her. However what pissed me. Off about ashley wise. I mean i'm gonna tell her faith and if that's how she choose three act to it then so be it like no bitch. You're not giving her like what she's okay girl. That's fi like no deaths. some snake caches. Excuse my language purple pants policy. But i'm on the puncture deaths. Some snake as shit ashley. Say like you know what i don. i know. we're trying to get over our monique. I mean candace. But i don't which you point blank period say don't smile in my face and then don't try to all of us in you. Are you know you're feeling like your light is being dimmed because candace now has the shine that you have as the single person on the thing and then when she brings up her journey nail. You want to be some type away when like she's already apologized to like girl georgia's trying to give yourself you just trying to start arguing back. I'm back so why you were all ran. All were you saw. Oh no you did. Not just right no you. You are third. Oh you did not care assassinate. My and i came back three minutes later. You talked about the same thing all right. We did it you don't you. Don't like.

"This week's episode of the purple pants. Podcast i m your a lustrous hopes bryce isaiah and i hope this podcast meet shoe. Greet shoe that. You're doing well and if not i guarantee after you've done listening you'll be in a better place. I'm so excited to be recording. This week's episode you know baby boy is definitely wetting his without this week. Hold on who listen. So it's been a week and you know. I'm about to unwind and that crown royal and apple juice and spilling multi see you guys so baby had been through a lot this week. Astronaut just was the most normal cheerful self. And you know. I was just my friends is asking like go on how you feel like not that great. And so maybe on thursday window stop by my house and brought me some crown and some local apple juice from a local apple farm. That's near the philadelphia area as so you know just was like our hope. This helps you get into the holiday spirit because you know you. Baby boy loves the holiday. So that's definitely what. I'm wedding my whistle to this week but before we go any further in this podcast with a purple pants posse was up so all the new listeners. There are discovering everything bryce as aus shot out the net flicks and john streaming on netflixif. I appreciate all of that. But if you could do me a favor pause this podcast and make sure you guys are subscribing to my podcast. The purple pants podcast on apple. Podcasts spotify podcasts. The back of a truck will wherever it is. That you get your podcasts. From make sure you subscribe. Make sure you give you a baby boy. Some five stars and write a review. I love to read the reviews so the holiday season is upon us. And so by the time this episode comes out. This will be the week of thanksgiving dot dot dot dot. And i was really excited for thanksgiving. I had shared with you guys. My plan was that. I was going to go to my mom's house. Barb know we were having a smaller than normal thanksgiving and the plan was for me to get a test. make sure it comes back negative. You know go to barb house and create our holiday memories. one thing that's really special mom and is that we both share a love for the holidays and so we make a big production even vicious me and my mom and john or my brothers my stepsisters. We just really make a big production of it and so. I was a little disappointed this week when i was looking to schedule. A covert test. Like i've shared with you guys before. My mom recently had surgery this summer. They found cancer. And you know it was a mass in her stomach and my mom had surgery. Thank god they were able to remove it and she's currently in remission and so y we take covert seriously in our family. And so we. My mom's immune system is compromised. She just had surgery. We'd all want to risk getting mother. Barb sake and so. Although my mom has cancelled thanksgiving in essence. I still wanted to go up. And you know. Spend time when my mom and giants so my plan was to get a cova hess and go up however earlier. Maybe like two weeks ago i started looking into getting cova test in the philadelphia area. Where i'm from and at that time you could only schedule a cove. It's like two to three days out. And so i'm a social worker and my job requires me to go into people's homes and you know i'm out in about i have a somewhat active social life and so i'm okay good. This is two weeks ago on my all right. Good you can scheduling. Three days was like the maximum that i could find and so earlier this week i was like okay. Let me start the process of scheduling. My kovic test baby boy was getting a little frustrated. Because i i would say wednesday or thursday. I started seeing that. The availability of these cova tests were very far and few and some of the dates. Were like a day before thanksgiving a lot of the days that you could schedule it to get a cova test in my area was like in december has so i'm like okay. I'm keep looking. Keep trying to figure out what i can do. But that didn't really help a lot. And so i was a little disappointed in the sense that not able schedule a cova tests that i could get my result spec in time to know whether or not i was you know negative or positive not only to mention that you know when you're scheduling these tests. They've got the rapid test. Which i know from experience are not as accurate as i would like. Then they have like the antibody tests which is if you head cova before then you would have like the antibodies. I was really looking for the current infection at factious tests. So that test whether or not you currently have in your body and that you know. That's the one where they stick it up. you know. And or they can draw blood and so none of those tests were readily available to myself. So i'm calling my mom. I'm getting really frustrated. And my mom's like it's not a big deal. Bryce like you know we'll just have to make do and so that really kind of damper spirit. Because y'all know. I'm in my early to late twenties to early thirties. And as long as i've been on this earth there's never been a thanksgiving that i have not spent with my mom that have not been in the kitchen cooking with my mom and for me. Thanksgiving time is a special time for my mom. Don't get me wrong. Baby boy loves christmas. But i think when i was a freshman in college and i didn't go far went to temple university which is right there in philly but i lived on campus. I remember me coming home school coming home from school and that thanksgiving the night before barbs in the kitchen cooking up a note she let me drink a little bit with her and that was actually the time that i came out to my mom. Not that i felt like i needed to come out to my mom but that was that i was just like. Hey mom you know girl we sisters as so for me. Thanksgiving means a lot to me. It means the acceptance. That i already knew for my mom but it was more like confirmation so it just made me upset and sad that i would not be able to. This will literally be my first thanksgiving not spending it with my mom and me a the youngest child of four. My mom was a single parent. Mom is my everything to me. And i you know in my later years in life. I want to show her how much she means to me. And so little things like our holiday traditions and things of that nature really mean a lot to me so i was really in the pits about not being able to go visit my mom but i've seen a couple of means on the instagram. And it's like i rather resume christmas. I'm i rather a zoom thanksgiving than icu. Christmas and me being a responsible young adults. I wanna put my mom's health first so that sorta has me down in the dumps. But i'm sure a lot of you can relate because this whole year has been so unconventional and especially with the holiday times. And i just wanted to share the story to just say that you are not alone we all going through it and i'm gonna be facetime abbar pau day or night. We won't get this family together. Because i you know that's important to us and so i know that a lot of the holiday traditions may not be normal but we gotta think outside the box. Then we'd have to think about the bigger picture and we our family members our loved ones to be around for a long period of time. And we don't want to miss rona. Stop us so that's kinda sort of been having a baby boy down in the dumps but again i'm just really thinking about the bigger picture and keeping myself safe. My mom save john safe and the rest of my family members safe So that's just been like you know. Just weigh in on baby boy's heart but in other news what has really been bringing me a lot of joy as we've talked about it before but you're no. Cbs net flicks worked out a deal where they are streaming in the us some survivor seasons. And listen and listen to me clear. They only picked two seasons. They pick season twenty and season twenty eight. And you know yeah baby. Boy is a part of season. Twenty eight and a lot of my haters back when i was on like. You're a nobody you not did. You was voted out there. But guess way baby boy is on netflix snail. And i've talked about it before. Like thousand and fifteen. I was like you know what. I want to be on a netflix series. And twenty twenty baby. Boy is on a netflix series. Now it's not really what i envision but it's a stepping stone and the right direction..
