When law enforcement searched the Virginia man's truck, they found an unregistered handgun and more than 500 rounds of ammunition. Wait, there's more. The man Wesley Bealer drove up to the security checkpoint and presented this credential as I was telling you about. But when a Capitol police officer check the credential with a list he discovered the man wasn't authorized to go inside the restricted area that has been set up as a security precaution. Officers also noticed the man had questionable bumper stickers in And on his car, including one that read, quote, assault life, unquote. When asked if he was carrying any weapons, Beeler said he was carrying a Glock semi automatic pistol in the center armrest. Police found the clock was loaded with a high capacity magazine. And 17 rounds of ammunition. The pistol was ready to fire. Bealer was carrying 509 rounds for the pistol, including hollow point bullets, as well as 21 shotgun shells. He was charged with five crimes, including possessing a weapon and ammunition without the appropriate registration. Charlotte Right now, we know he had to go through at least one armed military secure checkpoint just to get this location. Charging documents show that this is where everything happens Last night, right around 6 31 of me and pulled up in a white pickup truck and you can see just how close we are to the capital. Not far at our at all. Charlotte and this is where he showed armed guards. An unauthorized inauguration credential. That's whenever those guards asked him to pull over to the side. Officers say they noticed gun related details onto that truck. They then asked the man inside. If he had anything that could harm officers. He told the officers. He had a gun and documents show. That's when he was removed from the vehicle. Officers report finding a gun in plain sight and a further search found the front royal man had more than 500 rounds of unregistered ammunition on him. That gun that an officer was initially saw, was also unregistered and loaded with a high capacity magazine Tonight. Capitol Police says that dealer is charged with carrying a business pistol without a license. And for having unregistered ammunition. But Charlotte it's still unclear at this point. Why this Virginia man drove an hour and a half to D C and why he had several 100 rounds of ammunition on him.

"a. area" Discussed on Bay Curious
"For our love letter to the bay area. We sent producers Jessica check and Kiana Mocha down in the night of ideas at the San Francisco Public Library. What's happening today? We recorded interviews with about forty strangers. Asking them what makes them love the Bay area and what keeps them here. That's many of you reflected on moments when you were inspired by the striking natural beauty of this place. They went all the way to Nikko Kayaking at night. Pitch Black and as we start going out more and more as my eyes to the just dark the water around my Kayak starts glowing blue. The water out there is bioluminescence and you know I was just enjoying this amazing water. That was just read literally radiating blue and it made me think about all the Times that also were on inspiring three or four days. A week I swim in the Bay and it's such an incredible experience every time the first experience wasn't it was a little scary because it was cold and I was thinking too much about. Is this too cold? Am I GONNA get hypothermic? Is a Sea Lion GonNa bite me and you know and then I would hit a piece of seaweed and get freaked out and But after a few times you just feel like you're in another world in a world that's so much bigger than you. I love the ocean views. Eleven marine I love seeing the fog. I'm just GONNA say Carl. I don't really like you that much but I'm trying to love you. I always go over to Oakland to chase the sun. Coney has some of the best county parks in the whole United States and they even have senior citizen discount for parking so now that I'm retired. I just love hiking. I started walking into the Golden Gate Park and I ran into the Bison and the vice to the bay every part of the bay area offers something beautiful to see and experience. We also heard a lot of stories. About how the culture here has delighted. You take this story from one. Lopez who I moved to the bay area as a boy in nineteen eighty nine. When we first came to America we left Nicaragua for political reasons. And we got a cheap apartment in the mission and I didn't know this was going on but I woke up to all these sounds and Saturday morning and I look outside. And my dad's already looking outside. And there's all these beautiful grows half-naked so he was like happy. We made the right choice coming to America and I was still too young hundred fully understand but I saw how happy he wasn't looking good thing so so every year now we go off the city. Still like it's got a gold rush. Feel to it like there's still like you know you know technologists trying to make their fortune and You know and the bustle that comes with that and even now so the chaos that comes with all of that and there was just like a random guy is trying to talk to the United. I ignored him and then he wrote it down your beautiful and I was like oh so sweet and it's just like just random people showing appreciation just trying to be nice kind and there's actually a lot of people here that are like that. So opportunity has always been part of the story of the Bay area from native people who flourished in our climate to the thousands of immigrants both foreign and domestic who came in search of gold for so many of you. This place is still a beacon of opportunity for careers new beginnings a place to be yourself a mechanical engineer. The give me the best opportunity to develop my career. They give me the opportunity other countries probably would not have done would not have have a woman that the what I had in this country? I'm originally from France and I was bullied a lot there and I saw coming to the Berry as like in approach immunity to be like. Oh cool it's a new opportunity. Nobody would judge me and that's exactly what it was. I moved here when I was eighteen to be gay in public. The exception some people feel at home here and then there's the opportunity to be part of a diverse community. That's one of the things I was looking for when I moved here as a pilot or callers so you saw the Chinese culture the magic. I'm not no Honduran and all different cultures and just one single area. How Alto California always seem much more like home than Iowa for the Chinese food alone prayed? Just remember as a child being able to have Chinese food that tasted so different from anything you could get in the mid west. I actually was walking Lake Merritt one day on Saturday and they were having a women's March and it was like how a variety of women from all different backgrounds coming together and not just women it was also other gentlemen there will and so it was this powerful to see how passionate in deep people feel about equality Especially in current political climate. How certain groups and certain people get marginalized you WanNa to be somewhere where people are power for their passionate about that so it was a Gaza. Samis played back in the day when we were kids. She often said if I can take a pitcher out of Atlantic Ocean and that can sweeten that pitcher but I can't sweeten entire ocean all been like the lack in that community. Feel that I had the ability to impact the community. I can't do this macaroni level but I can do a small community so I in education. I really WANNA do. That was the first day when we brought our son to his elementary school and seeing the diversity and and the care of the teachers and the creativity of the teachers. That was a special moment when we asked about what specific moment made you love the bay area. A lot of the stories that we got were about moments that you felt pure joy this is cheesy but I love Dolores Park. I was just there this afternoon and it was beautiful and it was sunny and it was so warm its first side of the Munster candidate. Normally people will bring your dogs but you get all the cats and they're all just hanging out on the grass and looking very unsure about what's happening but enjoying it just like everybody else. The moment that I fell in love with the bay area was stepping into my first ecstatic. Dance the one in San Francisco is unique in that it's in an old Catholic church in the lower haight and all the pews have been doubt and it's now a skating rink which is beautiful but on Sundays. There's beautiful natural pouring in through the stained glass windows and at the front of the room as a DJ. And what I found was a room full of people expressing themselves in such beautiful ways. Staying here and loving. This place isn't always an easy choice. The Bay area has changed since last year. I came to know it. Anita Wong had to work through some tough stuff growing up here. I really just had to kind of a horrible horrible like highschool experience kind of had to deal with my best friend and she actually committed suicide when I was nineteen. I just didn't want to be here anymore. There's bad feelings about it but I you know I wanted to go to school and college somewhere else. Even my parents were here You know I'd have resisted really for a long time to come back but then now I'm thirty one so a lot older and I've moved it's different places across the country but I feel like I realized like my home and my heart is really in the bay area. I see how much the bay area has affected my family in terms of how many community members supporting my family and I felt like I couldn't take that away from them so I had to deal with the head of confront the bear again and I said. Okay you and I are GonNa work out our feelings. We're going to record to work out different problems and low and behold now I really I really love it I love being here and people are so much more you know really more me really like more genuine and so yeah well. My husband just passed away and so it's kind of bittersweet but in some way I feel he's still with me and still with my kids and so I'll always stay here because I feel close to him being here in the bay area even when you think about leaving imagining an easier life that you might lead somewhere. That's cheaper less complicated less crowded. Something brings you back. I moved to Sacramento but I do come back to the bay all the time because my friends are here. We'll come here just to like have coffee or lunch with them. Rethink about relocating. But it's nothing like Dorothy says. Police like home in San Francisco our home. I mean I never really wanted to leave. And it's it's kind of like it's my home. That's what I love about it. "a. area" Discussed on Dunc'd On Basketball Podcast
"Can create mismatches create opportunities opportunities for some of these less dynamic. I mean Robert. COVINGTON isn't the greatest creator for himself but if he gets up and looks and Anthony Davis on the floor that will happen in I could see Lou Williams in this format going wild against certain teams but it just so happens that Chicago has all of these different guys that can throw at him and you know still get his he'll still there's points but the overall destructive potential of Williams's toned-down have F. E. A.. And Patrick Beverley just ready to him and I really liked Jeremy Lamb but he's not quite at the level where he's GonNa just kill a team like Chicago. Yeah I think your defense is pretty good but not unbelievable and you don't have that one just like absolute defense of superstar four-star and then offensively. I'd probably rather have Anthony Davis than Lou Williams you'll lose better than derrick rose but they're kind of comparable so I I. I do think Chicago takes us when I agree with. You does get a little bit ugly you guys are also pretty light on shooting your three four five. You don't have a ton of shooting whereas Chicago looks. It's a little bit better there Not Not a ton of passing on this team. Either so I mean it's the number fourteen seed I I think it. Chicago's definitely GONNA have to win ugly. I know they. They could the prime for an upset here as the three seed. I basically just sort of did a lot of this based on just eyeballing it as opposed. Just here's how these guys are actually going to match up so much. What did I hate to admit it? Chicago could be right for an upset later on. We'll see here so what's the What do you think this one goes to meet? This is a five or six game series just depending on who make shots. So I'll go. I'LL GO CHICAGO SEX. They'll say Lou Williams gets the game in Chicago shoots themselves out of the game but it could easily be five. Yeah Chicago could also just suffer devastating entries to like half of our roster. Just it's been a kind of a lot of injury prone guys from Chicago here. But but we've at least we've got some good death there got divine Carter and Evan Turner at stirling broad and Frank Kaminsky Meyers Leonard. Jalen Brunson to bring in if we need to Jalil okafor okay. The four verse thirteen matchup number four North Carolina didn't think off the top of my head that like. Oh this is some powerhouse place laced but maybe just because they're a little more decentralized but this is actually a pretty stacked North Carolina team I will take them since since you've got L. A.. They're they match up there and definitely have the best point guards Chris. Paul and Steph curry were Steph Curry. Actually at the two Chris. Paul the one. We've also got South Korea's our backup to center mantras Herald is going to start for us. Also got Mason Paulie. He spent some time in Indiana but We'll probably we need him at center here. In North Carolina also got Hassan whiteside. If we need him John Wall is actually our backup point guard. Amazing how many point guards come out of North Carolina's it's pretty insane name. And then at small forward we got Brandon Ingram powered. PJ Tucker so we're a little light on shooting but we also have the best shooter of all time in our team so we're going to run a ton off ball stuff stuff with him. PJ Tucker and Tresor GonNa lay the Woolworth. Just be a nasty pick and roll team with this group. I'm surprised you're not starting Bam Bam went to Pinetown in town. He went to north side. And do I have missed him. Yeah no he's he actually starting. I'm sorry I didn't see him on the list there. Yeah he's he's got to start they. Thank you for noticing think that egregious coaching. And that really helps your defensive integrity to be. PJ PJ and Bam together is pretty good foundation. They're growing out at and I it gets to represent the thirteenth seed. which was I believe? A late edition suggested primarily by a by a by a reader which was a great one and that is degrade state of Missouri another decentralized decentralized one because they're they're people over an it's an unusual roster one that would actually be really fun to see in person. Guards are going to start Bradley. Beal an Landry Shamet with ALEC burks Check Harrison coming off the bench forward rotation shockingly deep for a Dido for thirteen seat in this case Jason Tatum. Og in an OB. Starting starting Otto Porter and Michael Porter Jr. who lived most of his time in in Missouri but then left for the State of Washington when his dad got a job there so we a county Missouri which I think is fair and then the limitation for this team is at center where tolliver who is a natural for any backup for is are starting five but it does get extra points because he went to kickapoo high school and then went to create. Yes I mean you may end up doing like playing Ogen and opiates center for. Yeah part of this reporter Tatum Emoji. Oh Gee as the as the frontcourt. That'd be possible. Yeah this is interesting. You don't have really a traditional point guard or center on the roster so you do have a lot of switch ability leap but other than og. There's no one who really scares me. Too much defensively on that group and I think they can score pretty well. I mean North Carolina's defense is not going to be amazing. Amazing but Steph Curry. There isn't really. I actually got landry. Shamet he's guarded. He's guarded steph curry pretty well that that might actually lead to some problems in this series. But I think Chris Paul be able to find a way to get steph. Curry the ball and Brandon Ingram against Jayson tatum. That's going to be a long to factory all series long long that everyone will be really enjoying As PJ Tucker and og added opium also could be like a great match up of like brick shithouses at the four so But I think the center position is worth really gonNA fall apart for a and just not having any rim protection is where it falls apart from Missouri right like that's all I could imagine ingram and Paul doing really well is not that. There's a greatest guys at all times getting to the line. But there's GonNa be nothing there so it'll be easier to get through it and also Missouri doesn't have have you talked about Sham Ed and also Shack Harrison. If he can get on the floor is a wonderful defender at the point guard spot but then that brings a whole lot of other limitations and yeah I think so for me. This is would be a really fun. Six game series but I feel pretty confident that North Carolina would win it. You're going with the six Gamer. Yeah Yeah That seems fair. I mean this is bowl. Both teams have a lot of talent and North Carolina has a lot of good players. You know Steph is way better than anyone on this Missouri team but pretty even talent outside of that so yeah. Well I'll give you the benefit of the data. I I was leaning more towards four one but You know I'm not entirely objective. I have some Ohio route so I should probably take take take them over and I didn't know that. Yeah my grandmother's from talmadge which is just outside of a city accurate which is pretty solid. NBA Talent in the past. Yeah so by the way Steph curry some people like why isn't e Ohio. Will I mean he grew up in Charlie went to High School in Charlotte. He doesn't really have any connections to Ohio. He likes to back to Charlotte all the time. Like Ah if you ask them. You thinks he's Panthers Fan Pretty obviously a whole bunch house. Yes and and it's not we're we're we're your birthplaces you think about all the people in military families earning any number of other things where it's it's not necessarily related anyway. The Great State of Ohio Pretty Strong team overall depending on how you want to structure the rotation. It's a little bit weak on the Ford Line. So that's where it's played a little fast and loose so mice. My starting five would be. I'd go a little bit a little bit different because of what certain player and my my starting Five Live would-be cj mccollum. Luke Kennard Care Sliver Lebron James and former. CIA learning as junior backups. Terry Rozier Darius Vassell. He's going to be part event and Jackson Hayes trooper come along too and Costa Kufo. I'm still gonNA. He's going to be an honorary member of this team a slash assistant. Yeah some of these assegais. He's more American. But you know yes played for Greece before they're going to match up with Philly. Calorie Quintessential Philly Point Guard starts us off off their shooting. Guard Larry's prior best players. This actually might end up being a sweep. Honestly Wayne Ellington and dion waiters. Shooting Guard small forward. We got Mikhail bridges and Deandra Hunter. Power Forward Marcus. Morris Kyle Kuzma did go to school Ron Billy but a grew up in flint. So we're we're giving him to Michigan Markeith. WARS IS GONNA play some center for us. We also got Derek Jones junior as a powerful option then centers a little rough Mo- Baba has roots in New York but went to Westtown boarding school in Philly. New York. New Jersey didn't need him so He's GonNa get pressed into service for affiliate but given the reputation of Philly and I gave him some reading Pennsylvania and I gave him a few cities around there. I wasn't willing to go as far west Pittsburgh for for Chicago as when he give give them all of Illinois Illinois doesn't really have any other big cities like the size of Pittsburgh and also you know Springfield. There's nothing really south of Springfield as as far as guys are in a play there but Pittsburgh is its own thing from philly western Pennsylvania. If you you have a separate football team I think that that's part of the part of the delineation so it's Philly team is not that good they. I think they're just going to get crushed especially just nobody to match up with Lebron nobody of his stature I think this might be a sweep. Actually I'm going Ohio and five just out some respect that maybe they maybe they don't shoot for suffer a game but yeah and also Ohio's limitations on in terms of perimeter defense aren't really a problem against Philli. They struggle to score and they don't have a like they've got a little bit of wing defense a lot of young guys maybe they they look better a couple years from now but In calar is your best is player versus Lebron James. We see that sweep for At at I would say that the the remainder of the talent is probably an Ohio's paver there too do so but not a lot of defense on that team especially goes Lebron got to carry a big load offensively but again as you mentioned. It's not a big problem. It's Philly so yeah I guess we'll go four one. Lebron teams don't necessarily always lock it and they could just Kinda lose game that they probably I bet They go up to lose game three three because they don't really try and then they kill him in game four or five. Now I get to represent my actual home of the San Francisco area. We went a little bit brought with it a couple of times. Just yeah we had to the bay area like as a couple of good players but it's downright now it really is but it starts strong. And that's what point guard Damian Lillard Lillard the backup. Sorry the other starting guard is going to be Taylor Johnson. Backup Jeremy Lin forward line. We had to stretch on. I've actually forgotten that tyler. Other Johnson was from the bay. I should've remembered because Kent Lake Up. the son of Joe Lak- who works organization once told me a story about getting dunked on by Tyler Johnson so he grew up in the bay area. So I should remember that but I didn't So we still jerry. Lynn playing China but we had to draft him just to get enough to field the team on the guard position. Yeah definitely that. And then we're GONNA have to draft some people on the Ford Line as well. Aaron Gordon is the star of the fordline went to Archbishop Mitty and then Ryan Hi Anderson and Dj Wilson. We're expanding it out to head to expand it out to Sacramento right and that includes also marquees Chris because Chris from Elk Grove. And and and I've been robbed we've just got cut by the grizzlies. Went Bishop doubt so that you know. It is top heavy with dame and Aaron Gordon but it is exceedingly shallow. Yeah they're going to go up against Houston becoming more of a power of late deer and Fox headlines The point guards Also got DJ August in. Who went to hightower? I mistakenly put him in Dallas for second and then I think there are actually two hightower's one in the Dallas area at one the Houston area so no DJ Atkinson from Houston Same High School Daniel House at Small Ford Award as well hightower high school at Shooting Guard a.

"You get ten percent off your first. Purchase that calculates goes US remarks. We talk about all the time here on the program and that of course will let them know that you came from us is any as a Chicagoan Gordon. I have long had a ton of pride in Chicago basketball. I've wanted to do these all area teams for a while even if I did blanche a little bit at that pretty nasty roster from La. They are definitely the number one seed so talk a little bit first about how we put this together. Obviously where someone is from can be a little bit nebulous. I think you try to just look at it as if you ask this person. Where would they say that they're from? I didn't ask all four hundred fifty NBA players. We tried to concentrate on solely players. Who are in the the NBA right now? And this is only going to be American cities. We may do a separate episode later on International Cities Melbourne Toronto and Barcelona actually actually look really strong but we got a nice top sixteen here with American cities or regions. I made things as expansive as you reasonably could with something like Chicago that includes Foods Illinois New York New Jersey or together or we did just entire states when it made sense so tried to make some regions that make sense. You may quibble about certain players being being from certain places also if we had a situation where maybe a guy went to a prep school or something. I generally try to do. Okay where did this guy really grow up but sometimes times if the team from his area was really strong and the team where he went to boarding school needed Zona his position. May We moved him there as well. You see that even like international basketball with Becky Hammond playing for Russia Russia or some American men playing for other countries. You know the Boma Caleb style so I've got bracket here I did this pretty loosely. I didn't go through because it's GonNa be fun to actually have these teams match up against one another and you and I will declare a winner in each matchup so let's start with our number one bracket here since you are a California native I will let you have the L. A. Team. They are matched up against the number sixteen seed Seattle slash slash Washington. Who is on your team you got? You actually have enough guys to pick from here that you might even be hard pressed putting figuring out who's going to be on your roster you know kind and making it eight nine man rotation from all these groups here that are going to play in this game so he got. La's team is absolutely just stacked on the perimeter. A lot of guys who went to who went to high school when I was in college. So it's weird because I saw a lot of these guys played high-school Drew Holiday Russell Westbrook and point guard harden and Klay Thompson at the two Paul George. Marta Rosen at the three while y plays the three he's also this team's best four and then the weakest spot for the La team is at center. Duane deadman and Jordan Gordon Bell or probably the top two there. So if I'm doing I'll do starting five of because they don't really need westbrook with harden on the floor which also hilarious Algo actually. I'm go hardened clay Paul George Kawai deadman drew and Russell both get on the team of course and then. That's pretty much the rotation. Yeah are we assuming zooming that these guys that are introduced will come up the DMV definitely has some interesting full full strength. I think but we're for clay all not pro durant. We're kind of just project out what they're going to be once once they're back out what they've always been. Yeah their their their new normal. Whatever that is yeah which of course as we know under percents but aren't that's A? That's a pretty pretty good team. I mean you don't have to Start Your Holiday Inn. Russell Westbrook got a lot of size on the wings. Lot of switch switch ability centers. A little weak. But you're still probably actually looking better than I am in Seattle sorry. KP We do have some interesting back. Court guys though restart Devante shontae. Murray Point Guard. We've got Thomas as a six man. Zach Levine and Avery Bradley. Give offense defense combination shooting guard. Small small forward Matisse thighbone again really good defensive option and Kevin Puerto Junior is Bryant to be our backup small forward then in the front court where a little weak Joe Harris Harris is our power forward and then we got Marvin Williams at center. I got to save a little worried about my lack of size. Going up against this L.. A. Blindster here. The especially because the team doesn't have great size but it has a lot of penetrators and so who who is going to help on. Your team is a big problem. Yeah Marvin and Marvin seven wins is like the closest thing I could find to center as well and he plays some backup center for the Hornets. But he's not a natural center so I mean my only hope really for appeaing away is probably just like really beating up on the boards but if we have to go Zach Levine. He's GonNa have to guard either. James Harden Klay Thompson. Paul George Goto you too well is as Thomas is GonNa get completely destroying the nice thing if you guys don't have any small guards at all either. So I I mean I think. La is probably GonNa take this one pretty clearly in applaud. You also have a a lot more depth So you're going to rise off the floor especially when you you sub in Westbrook for harden. I'm guessing you're probably going to increase a little bit so I think L. L. A.'s probably gonNA move on pretty easily a in this one to the second round. I'll take I'll take the lower seed in the in the next match. That is the the two fifteen you want. You just go in that order as good. Yes so the two fifteen is a Ford is the fifteenth seed. It's a very different set of strengths and weaknesses. Starting and five will be infancy. Simon's Tim Hardaway Junior. You could pick between Rodney mcgruder and hardaway was a little controversial. People are saying Chicago but we we needed him in Florida Boorda to Chicago. Who by the way I'm going to be controlling? Chicago's the number three seat but Oh really yeah. We could send them to. We could send him to Florida Florida. I think we'll be okay folks. And so then. So Hardaway mcgruder. You could also throw Kevin Knox in that rotation he'll he'll be on the he'll be in the group because he went to Tampa Catholic then on the bigs Isaac Collins Jonathan Isaac John Collins are going to start Vince Carter John Henson come off the bench and then you have some depth pieces increasing allen if you need it. Do you get the veteran leadership advantage with Vince. Carter Yeah so new. York and New Jersey has pre stacked we included New Jersey. Just because New York together they're pretty close to one another and New York. Frankly wouldn't have had that great of a team so point guard pretty nasty. We I play these guys together. Some Kyrie Irving in Milwaukee but Kyrie is GonNa Start then we got Donovan Mitchell at shooting guard. He would school Connecticut. He famously was there at the Lebron and James Decision announcement but his dad worked for the method. I think you can at the very least. She's Tristate area. You can throw him in there. We got Danny Green at our starting small forward. Power Forward Tobias Harris and we got Kyle Anderson backing him up for more of a defensive look and then center. This is the guy that I I think. It's GonNa be really hard for some of these. Start to Karl Anthony towns and we got Taj Gibson backing up This one again probably not going to be too close Movie The the thing that New York New Jersey is really lacking defense. But I don't really see Florida having the ball handlers or the inside presence to exploit worth that it is interesting that they don't really have great personnel. But you could argue. That Florida has better guys. For towns with John Isaac and Collins and maybe John Henson a little bit then some of the other other teams but they just don't have the horses and shall we say I guess. Should we pretend they're playing a seven game series and we could just say what what it'll be this this to me would be newark. Newark New Jersey and four. Maybe five. Yeah it would. It would require but see. The problem is Florida. Just doesn't have the way to score points and it's hard to imagine. Even if for the defended did well they still that'd be Newark. New Jersey still has Kemba Kyrie and towns. They're still GONNA get buckets. Yeah I mean maybe you could say if they had like a really good defense of center in in Florida that they might might be able to cause some problems but one more pick and roll guy but yeah I mean angry. Simon says your your lead ball handler. That's that's that's going to be a little limited right so I agree with you. That's a sweep shy number three seed. I do say as an aside. Anthony Davis was talking about this yesterday. Because he's back in Chicago as we're recording this Get early on this morning. Figured this Pretty Evergreen socking to kill us to do this in advance. He's saying how. Oh Chicago has the best basketball players and wherever the New York. There's still a lot of depth from Chicago but they really haven't had a superstar since a D. and there's really only one superstar on the team but we got a a lot of like really tough twos. We're going to really defend. This might be the best defensive group out there are center is backed up by by rashawn homes and this includes some people from Illinois not to Chicago power forward. We can go with an offensive. Look with Jabari Parker. who was the disappointment? There's hopefully in for would be the next great Chicago Superstars. That hasn't really happened. We haven't had any McDonald's all Americans lately Small forward Andre Iguodala A and maybe he's not a top ten player but I gotta get Iman Shumpert than in there just because he went to my high school parker forest then shooting guard. Actually the emergence of Kendrick Nunn. This year is really gonNA help us because we needed one more ball handler. Vacuum up with Patrick Beverley a point guard. But he's definitely plenty tough to play shooting guard and a good shooter and Eh Fred Vanfleet from ROCKFORD's pre close to Chicago and Derrick rose will be our backup point guard. Can't trust him to stay healthy seven game series as the starter so we gotta go with Vanfleet there or so. We got a lot of toughness. A lot of grit offense might be a little bit of a problem. Air were matching up against the number fourteen seed which is Atlanta and Atlanta's actually a really fascinating team because they have nice balance of the lower seats that we've done there the first one that really distracted so guard rotation Malcolm Brogden Lou Williams Jeremy Lamb and Casey P I would I'm going to start Brogden and lamb there especially to counteract. Your group is going to play a lot two minutes. Of course he'll be. He'll be the offensive lynchpin if when they need it. Forward Rotation Jalen Brown from Maryetta Jae Crowder Alchemy new coming off the bench and then a nice center rotation Asian of Window Carter in Derrick favors so for a lot of teams. This is good happened facing a de. That makes it a little bit less great but I mean you have forty minutes a center there. Yeah Yeah I mean how do you see this matchup going here You know I think our defense is going to be awesome. I'll not it'd be nice if we had like a a perimeter superstar who could really Who could really run pick and roll what they do? I mean Vanfleet. It's pretty good. That rose pretty good at that. But they're not like highest level guys. Let's I think it'd be ugly that's the biggest takeaway from it and I do think though that the difference maker. Here's Anthony Davis. AD can create mismatches create opportunities opportunities for some of these less dynamic. I mean Robert. COVINGTON isn't the greatest creator for himself but if he gets up and looks and Anthony.

"A great one going through not only the all area teams teams including some discussions But then also we do a full bracket and we go through what we would do in seven game series if those areas were to face off was is fun got into some really interesting arguments and discussions and thinking about teams in that context was something that we both genuinely love doing. It's hardy it's over an hour and I'm thankful thankful after going through the barrage of injuries that comprise the opening segment blast podcasts that this one is significantly shorter and that means there have been injuries. It's also also a shorter passenger time. I am recording this on Wednesday early afternoon Pacific Time so any news that has not yet transpired obviously will not a part of the show that will be one night catch up with each other when he gets back which will be the Monday morning. Sunday night episode of dunked on. They'll be more traditional. Let's call it that but there is still news to get news of importance and where I want to start is in Houston. We had preliminary reporting earlier in the week. which has now actually come to I? Unfortunately Eric Gordon had to undergo arthroscopic procedure today on his right knee and he's going to miss at least six weeks. That is unfortunate SCHNITT. I mean he's been an important part of the rocket success over the last few years that's GonNa put a lot more on. Various players shoulders. Looks like in the kind of this intervening time. Ben mcadoo Comores GonNa get at least some starts and we'll see probably a bunch of different players. Go through that unfortunate for the rockets for a bunch of different reasons. It doesn't necessarily as as long as doesn't Recur Affect Their playoff viability. There are also potentially implications for Eric. Ordinance contractual guarantees. But those are a long way out with the extension that designed so I think he could trigger it early but I believe he will still have other chances to do that. Hurts the rockets odds of getting the top seed or a different one but still a lot of season left to be played. So I always like I said this with the Khris Middleton one tad to see players out but feel better that it further these high end playoff teams that at least this this injury likely will not keep them out in the postseason so plenty of time for recovery. They're a similar story with Landry. SHAMET IN LA. He did not have a significant injury which this is great but he did have a grey to handle sprain that is less severe than the earn. Fox's also shared his a less important player than Fox but still a loss for the clippers another another reminder that they still aren't at full strength because they lost him at right before they're going to get Paul George Hughes going to return either in Wednesday night's game against Houston or Thursday night's game against Your Orleans as of this recording. The the clippers have not yet decided which of those two still exciting to see him back in presume as with all of these things that it will take some time for George. George surrounded into form and for the clippers to fully adjust to him as the process goes in but that makes them significantly more interesting over the next few weeks even without thout Shamet. I don't want to delve too much into the next stuff as I didn't last time but a little bit of subsequent reporting from Ian Begley put some background on some of weirdness that happened and so basically what Begley reported that Steve Mills and Scott Perry had a conversation on Sunday which stolen in the way he phrased it was. They came away with the impression that the jobs would remain secure provided the knicks showed progress. This season so this isn't a big surprise. Both in terms of Dolan expecting progress on eighteen. That isn't I'm very good but also on the idea that if either progress isn't shown into the standard the Dolan thinks that Mills Perry one have a fall person that is not them So that would mean David Dale and numerous other things so part of why they're quote unquote laying the groundwork for Fidel is that if that progress or insufficient progress this is not shown than they can do something else so. That's not a surprise. The towel people try to stay in their jobs. I also believe that they are at fault. And I mean to the extent that anybody is in that organization other than James Dolan but it's always worth remembering the context when something like what happened with the physical stuff having earlier that reporting is that there's usually the context context that somebody else in the chain is trying to cover their own asses and that is the case here and beg lose reporting substantiates. What we already pretty much knew a couple other pieces of injury? News News Damian Lee Warriors Two way player suffered a non displaced fracture in his right hand he will be sidelined. At least two weeks has filled an important role in the the warriors rotation with Curry Thompson and to until recently draymond green and de Ngelo Russell out as a two way player. My understanding and I will do. We're digging into this if I have to is that the words are under no financial obligations in terms of salary cap in the luxury tax basically. He's just not going to be available or are using days on his forty five day two-way limit. So there's a benefit downside there where they'll have morally later without having to convert him but also they don't heavily now where it's actually you could say more important if they're actually trying to compete in Detroit. We got the news basically right before recorded this. That Thomas had surgery zone on the fifth metatarsal. His right foot. He will be reevaluated. In six weeks that is a lot of time for Thomas to be out neat nine wondered about whether or Thomas could potentially be the odd man out when the when it looked like Christian was going to make the team. Thomas made that cut and now unfortunately though it's less time for the Pistons to evaluate valuate Thomas for next year and everything else so hopefully comes back soon comes back strong. Couple interesting things out of Chicago most notably Casey Johnson and had this at least the first person I saw with it that I guess it was during media availability. Jim Boylan said for the first time. That Larry Martin is fighting through a sword or bleat a week and has has been dealing with it for two weeks. We'll have to see whether that has been affecting his play. I would say marketing has any disappointment at least for me so far this year and it could be injury related. This happens opens more often. I think than the average fan thinks that a player is dealing with an injury that is largely reported doesn't prevent them from playing prevents them from being their best. Do Not know if that is the case here but it is worth keeping in back of your mind. There's a Danny Green won a couple of years ago. They're a bunch of these different things. Were not enough to keep them from playing but it can be a challenge so context always important also oh in Chicago. Cristiano Felicio suffered a non displaced fracture of the trapezoid bone in his right wrist and he is expected to be out four to eight weeks. He has not. I've been integral part of the Bulls rotation but of course still important has the financial component to then one this with a a series of different things from Brooklyn not the most important but because I can breeze through it the nets and a CEO. Dave Levy have parted ways. He was only on the job for less than two months as of right now I haven't seen any reporting on what the lead to this occurring but we'll just have to keep an eye on is in might be a non story might be a story but we're just GonNa have to see what definitely is a story or two would certainly appear to be related things one is that trump strana the nets are concerned that over who missed the most recent game with issues with his right thumb that he has has ligament damage. And he's going to visit a specialist and that is clearly concerning liver one of the important players for the Brunettes who are fighting for a playoff berth. Even now that's just just the way this works if you're not in the top of your conference and presumably related to that Wilson Chandler is is on the suspended list so the Brooklyn Nets have a roster spot available salable even though they have fifteen guys paid and they're using that on Iman Shumpert Shumpert can step right into the guard rotation he has played on successful teams many times in the past. The most notable are most recently on Houston Rockets. And there is a second part of this which I haven't seen much reporting on which is that Iman Shumpert signing with the nets also so formerly ends his capacity to be used as a walking trade exception for the Houston Rockets because that relied on on Burgh writes in his previous salary he I believe they did not have to renounce Shumpert in order to make their other moves. Just you can just kind of float along. But once he signed with Brooklyn Shepherd does not have any existing rushed with rockets. They lose the bird rights. WHO's the ability to sign him to a balloon payment and then use that basically to get a trade exception? That was what they ostensibly tried to do in a and all what happened happened so you could call that bad news for the rockets. It's bad it's an indicator of something we already knew. But that's noting shepherd I hopefully doesn't have to but it sounds like he's going to have to step into the nets perimeter rotation post-haste and the nets need a lot after this the whole conversation. Really Fun one. With nate on the all all area teams going through the teams selections and then playing out a bracket are doing things for taking care of that news for us nate here again and room and get to who are all area teams which will really looking forward to Director Basketball Research. Bendel put in a ton of work on this. So we're excited to get that to you you but I I. I have to make a confession that I've never once worn Cologne in my entire life. I've wearing the same deodorant and the same bar soap since high school. And Yes yes I somehow did manage to get married even despite all those things. But I'd probably be lying if I said that my wife wasn't interested me perhaps trying so higher quality products at ED support. 'EM Like Hey we're already married. I don't have a lot of time here. I don't need to make this a priority and go and try out a bunch of stuff and figure out what I'm going to like but then I found out about Hawthorne Ktar they give you a personalized approach. You take their two minute quiz. They find you stuff that works for your hair your skin even figure out what kinds of smells also you like one of the questions was whether like cocktails or whiskey or beer to drink because seventy five percent of tate is Roman so that those those questions help them find a Cologne. "UFO's as well yeah and there's like this is is like another supernatural component of them. I A lot of the native American Indian say that they've they've watched him just disappear. I think they tried this it out into the middle of that opening was field into the big disappear into the trip footprint. Stop right there there. They like the guy some kind of I don't know other powers that we don't understand is wind down here in the last couple of things we talked about the reveal talk of this going on. What's going to happen over the next few years then? There's going to be a time on this or getting close to living yes I. I think we did press. I think that there's going to be a disclosure and official disclosure would probably be from the US advocates if it comes from us. It's going to carry more weight because other countries have already admitted as you have those that for some reason if we have doc inefficient disclosure coming from us it will. I think it'll be kind of a big deal but I think also it's going to be the companied the need by some stuff that we can't deny it's going to be like so blatant in her face in whatever that's going to cause this full disclosure to come out and there's GonNa be no denying it anymore and it's going to be interesting to see what happens but I think that's going to be soon. My I would say within a decade I think I don't know like you'd think that they would come out a little bit more. I think there's definitely still figuring out they nations technologies because they're coming out with more planes all the time with technology so I don't know how all that kitchen and I know that area fifty one is all about right. That's where they're breaking down the spaceship. I just think if they come right out with stuff is going to be too much mass hysteria. I don't know there has been sought. I guess they call it soft disclosure like some of these with like urgent mobile where they're coming out with. Oh No. It's a weather balloon. You know they're not yes out there. Can you trust Mitt. They jeans story so many times. They're all covering up something he begin with. Your digital story was the correct story. It'd be recovered the flying gifts. I think it's really interesting getting to me the fact that making light of the storm area fifty one but I think you know if there's a million people signed up and people nowadays are looking for something to do you for lack of better term. If a thousand people show up one hundred thousand people show up. It'll be interesting to see what happened. Obviously the military isn't going to screw around but you know I I mean if they get too close to nose down. There could be some kind of a riot or this could be some sort of a plan to sing to to make a big reveal. Maybe it's some kind of a of a work from the government. I think it'd be very interesting back in Vietnam when when they protested the campuses they shocked people and that was they shop on you know just for the protests. I'm thinking this is already of area that they're not supposed to be in so. Don't you think they'll use fourth Push people back if they as you you haven't like with Christmas Saint I i. It's an interesting concept could be like a managed agenda from the government. Maybe they've started something like this to get the people to come out there. Maybe this could be part of the counter third kind where does there and then the fatal over. I love this could be part of the bill yeah. That's that's an interesting concept that this could this whole thing could be managed managed agenda with a whole store Miri fifty-one because it's definitely caught fire and it's you know if they're if they're whoever is orchestrating this. This is the time to do that would be actually a really good time. "The on ramp for the southbound HOV the big question is did the driver of that black McLaren take the, wrong ramp by mistake or on purpose when he got to the top of the ramp this was the result a fiery crash, that killed not only so he he is going up a hill and he he but you have to, figure, out I, I don't know May- maybe because we're so used to onramps. Being the far right lane but he was he was getting on the diamond lane exit and he. Passed through to wrong way signs arrows pointing down left and. Right at the base of the you know turn so he went through a lot of. Visual gateways at four thirty in the afternoon to get under I'm trying to think of. Of a similar, intersection like that the. Only thing I can think of, is in the valley. In Sherman, oaks on sepulveda's there's a confusing on ramp to one One in four or, five they're right next to each other and you got to commit before you even get, through the stoplight you've got to commit to one on one or four zero five and I've been on, there, a million, times where people take the far right lane which is going. To force them on a one on one and they either hit they mean to go on the. Four oh five and they hit the brakes or they freak. Out or whatever but they don't go the wrong way no no there's no there's no. Way I just I can't think of One zero five I think, it's the one of. Five when you're going east and then, you go, up onto the HOV lane to go to head the one, ten you when you're running onto the. One, ten, I think. One tense five better than the one oh five No I I'm trying to think but that's as we see it here it could it could be confusion confusing generally, in the l. a. area you have loop on ramps.

"It was a Buddhist show. Hi, Honey. Oh my God who's excited that Nicole buyer is back may. So I'm just going to get through my intro really quick. I, I just want to say that I've decided like many of my other fellow podcast friends, light, Nicole buyer. I'm going to start doing fun like read reviews for Nancy Butte incentive because that's what all the other pods do baby and we all know I hate asking for reviews, but it's time. Okay. I haven't brought up in a while. So we need some reviews on itunes for all my, I tunes honeys out there. We're trying to get natch up those charts. So why don't you leave me a five star review on tunes and in the review, I have something exciting that I want you to do. I want you to leave the five star review for Nash byu and then in it right out your nightly skin routine. But if that's super long, if you're like me and you have a lot of steps, why don't you leave a must have product recommendation for all of. Us and I'm gonna start sprinkling in some of these and the intros that we can all learn from each other and it'll be fun. Okay. So everybody leave me review, leave some products that you love or your routine, and you might hear it on natch. That's very exciting. I also wanted to say at one point early on in the show I said, leave me a review and right far fart. Fart. And a lot of you did. So if you wanna kick it old school and right mayor of you and put far far far, far far, then I'll read that out loud to so everybody do you and do what you wanna do. I think this is going to be fun. I'm so excited. Okay. Okay. The only other thing I have to say is this is for my l. a. area honeys and I don't like letting everyone else feel exclude. That doesn't live in LA, but just know that this is my biggest platform, and I actually have a lot of listeners in the l. a. area down my LA honeys shouted on my non LA honeys all over the world. I have very appreciative that you're listening to Nash in that you're spending your days with me, but this is just for the LA area. Honeys I am sorry, but this is the only place where people hear me. So if you don't wanna hear about what's going on in LA, then go ahead and hit that fifteen baby move on with your day. Okay, I totally get you. See you. I don't want you left out, but. Okay. They're all gone. Hey, LA honeys. What is up something very exciting that I wanted to share with y'all? Okay. Next weekend on Saturday, June sixteenth, there is a new exciting.

"So jeffrey t rich ulsan of george washington university's national security archive was able to use the legislation to obtain the document for the purpose of public debate and research that he wasn't allowed access to what is happening at area 51 now he was not as that information is still deemed topsecret due to national security and we can assume they will never voluntary released this information i would say that's a safe assumption but if we were to hear something we imagine it would be along the vague lines of top secret research into new technologies for the air force what has come to be a practice lie for those in charge of area fifty one but we think there's more to it than that one hundred percent there is more to it that the question is what well there are countless conspiracy theories on what is happening at area fifty one but we have settled on four theories worth discussing next week the the first and most major starts in a town called roswell new mexico in 1840 seven where a rancher found some strange material on his land the air force initially called it remnants from an unidentified flying object but then quickly redacted that statement could this have been the remains of a crashed alien ship and could the government have brought it to area fifty one for researching the second conspiracy theory we will cover is that we are using alien technology to develop our own this was the main theory put out by robert lazar and while it's not exactly separate from the roswell incident we will treated individually a third less exciting conspiracy theory as that we are developing technologies way ahead of what the us is willing to admit like stealth transporters for ground troops and other extremely advanced aircraft and finally some conspiracy theorists claim all the other.

"To have worked for area 51 however what he said was completely extraordinary lazar went on television to claim that he had worked with defence contractor dg and g on alien technology at a base he called s four near groom lake and while azzarra was met with both believers and skeptics alike he did one thing for sure reignite the interest in the top secret nevada base the government of course denies lazar story and discredits him through his credentials bob lazar claimed to have a master's degree from both caltech and mit but there is no record of him holding either of these we will look in more detail at lazar story and what he said about area fifty one next week but the important thing in our story today is steady once more stirred up the controversy around area fifty one so much so that area fifty one and the nearest town of rachel nevada started to generate a tourist economy centered around the base pilgrims began coming to try their hand at catching a glimpse of ufos and other strange an exciting things near area fifty one and locals responded opening bars like the little alien and selling alien theme t shirts and other souvenirs whether the inhabitants of rachel believed in the conspiracy surrounding area fifty one or not they embraced its fame and turned it into a profitable endeavor the reason this is important to our official version is because despite what was happening at area 51 what was happening are rounded is sometimes just as important this is after all what generated so much hype around the base in the first place and the local tourism conspiracy theories are not is as much a part of the history of area fifty one as the work they were doing their yes the economy and cultural effect of the area is undeniable however not everyone.

"Clearly doesn't want it to get out too now it's possible they want to keep the record clean in case of future lawsuits that they are afraid if the epa releases information on less than ideal work conditions there might be a great public outcry against the base maybe but it sure looks like they have something to hide seems unlikely that the forces behind area fifty one would be much affected by the public especially after stonewalling the constant barrage of rumors that surrounded that place over the years so to think that they were afraid of some sort of protest seems a little outlandish well perhaps they were afraid of the chemical composition of stealth technology falling in the wrong hands the seems more likely but is also a stretch even if those elements were discovered it is one thing to know the ingredients but quite another to know the recipe so were agreed that the epa test is hiding something imperative it seems so even though we will probably never know what it is no matter what the epa found or did not find the effect of area fifty one was felt by the workers and their families an autopsy a frost revealed extremely high levels of dioxin day benz of pure an and trichloroethylene chemicals which were mentioned in an unclassified document giving details about the f one seventeen nighthawk but this will never be proven as an issue of national security and we may never fully understand the effects of working conditions or why the base at groom lake was so committed to burning materials to get rid of evidence evidence of some of the greatest kept secrets in our nation's history.

"Masked saud isn't it why were they so afraid of bringing in the most basic of outside materials maybe they're afraid of employees sneaking in cameras or maybe they were afraid of contaminating something they didn't understand something alien whatever it was the prosecution's lawyer jonathan turley was in a pickle how do you try a place that does not exist well it turns out this is pretty difficult when turley was able to produce an unclassified security manual which he asserted not only proved area 51 existed but that they were also accountable for certain safety regulations the government merely made that safety manual classified they were always one step ahead of the curve in this trial classifying sensitive documents before that could be used as evidence and to hammer the point home president bill clinton signed an order that prevented the results of environmental tested area fifty one by the in our mental protection agency from releasing their results so the judge could find nothing to convict the agency's behind area 51 citing that any lawsuit against the base would jeopardize national security leaving the two widows to grief the memory of their husbands bought what came out of this case was the executive order to prevent publicized results from the epa about the groom lake base this legislation was not a one time thing which president clinton drafted and signed in september of 1995 but rather is something the president of the united states has to re issue every single year way you saying that every president since clinton has had to sign off on this cover up not just every president every president four times in their term this tradition even continues today with the executive office reassuring the act every year so whatever that epa test is revealing the governor's.

"Including cia headquarters in the pentagon were the spy planes they were building really so important and on top of that the spy planes were often plant and constructed at lockheed in burbank california after which they were then shipped to area fifty one for testing so you think it would be easier to uproot the secrets before they even got two area fifty one absolutely but could it be about the flight test the demanded more secrecy than the construction of the plane itself is all very curious and it suggests that there is a lot more going on at area fifty one then we will ever know because even after the satellites made these spy planes obsolete the government continued to deny area fifty one even existed until the 2013 report but one thing is for sure as the government continued to tighten the seal on all things related to their base at area 51 interest and speculation around the place only see gene to grow and grow the 2013 cia document detailed the goingson at area 51 up until the age will oxcarts final flights in nineteen sixty eight and although we lose the thread of the specific research and evolution after that point we can use first hand accounts and other declassified documents to piece together some of the other projects that came out of area 51 these first hand accounts are generally from civilian employees as over the years the laws around discussing work at area fifty one of slackened considerably the declassified documents generally projects by the air force detail testing done at the base near groom lake which we can assume is area fifty one and though none of these things are one hundred percent confirmed by the government we can say with a certain amount of confidence that they happened the next natural step in spite technology was the stealth plain these were planes made with an outer layer of material.
