52 years after capture, orca Lolita may return to Pacific

"An unlikely coalition has a plan to return Lolita, also known as toki and orca that has lived in captivity at Miami seaquarium for more than 50 years to her home waters in the Pacific Northwest. It could take 6 to 9 months or even longer to move the 57 year old 5000 pound orca closer to where it's believed her mother still swims. The aquarium CEO Eduardo albor says his daughter told him Lolita needs to move. I feel so bad. I have to go around with cry. The honor of the Indianapolis Colts, Jim irsay, says this is very close to his heart. I know Lolita wants to get to free waters. I don't care what anyone says, she wants she's lived this long to have this opportunity. Charles vinick with Friends of toki says moving toki Lolita is worth the $20 million price. Consumer Spending Growth Moderated in February

"A key report on consumer spending gives signs that inflation put the brakes on last month. Inflation eased and consumer spending moderated in February, according to today's report from the commerce department. That's good news for inflation watchers, consumer spending rose 0.2% from January to February. That's a drop from the hefty 2% increase a month earlier, consumer prices rose 0.3%, half the increase reported in January, slowing the annual rate to 5%. So called core inflation a figure closely washed by the Federal Reserve is hovering at 4.6%, but most consumers like Jennifer Schultz and saint Joseph, Missouri, are still feeling the pinch. Leigh Wambsganss Describes How Patriot Mobile Fights for Parents

"What happens once you win, because sometimes people say, well, it's one thing to win the school boards. It's another thing to actually implement change. Talk about what patriot mobile action is doing to actually fight for virtue and parents rights once you're able to win these school boards. Absolutely. One of the first important points is this is never a one and done. This is every year a reelection, it will never end. The second we take our eye off the ball, the liberals will control the majorities again. And there are several examples in the state of Texas and the biggest one this week is the south Lake Herald independent school board trustees voted Monday night to leave the Texas association of school boards. The woke tasby. Tasby was one of the late levers of the national or the mom. Yeah, sure. Yeah, absolutely. Where they rode a letter to Biden calling moms and dads who were simply exercising their First Amendment rights to speak out at the public comments section of school board meetings. Literally calling parents domestic terrorists and saying that they were committing hate crimes for speaking out against the racist critical race theory. So the fact that it took taz be a little over 8 months almost a year to leave the national school board association after this that was one of the reasons that Carolina's de trustees cited in their resolution to non renew their membership with the Texas association of school boards, but that's just, that's just one thing. It is ironic Charlie last May 2022 when there was a rash of conservative victories in school boards across Texas that two weeks later be left the national association. I don't think that would have happened, had we not had all of those victories.

Eric Shares His Thoughts on the Possibility of Nuclear War

"What do you think about the possibility of nuclear war? I feel like we had this question a month ago. I'm a begin it. Well, I think most people know that because we're living in crazy times, anything is possible. And I think that, first of all, if you think of Kim Jong-un in North Korea, that guy is a straight up madman, he is allied with China, I don't even think you need to think about Putin, Putin is enough of a malefactor that I don't think he would hesitate. I don't know. One thing I do know, I put my trust in God. I think that we're not supposed to live in fear, first of all, I'm not afraid of death because I believe that Jesus defeated death on the cross. And that by faith in him, we never die. I actually believe that's true. And so I think we should never be scripture says be anxious for nothing. So realistically, these things are possible. We don't know what the future holds. Our job is to do our job, to praise God, to obey him, to live heroically, bravely, freely, and what happens is not up to us. We're just to do our job.

Mark Levin: We Are Staring Into the Face of Tyranny

"So this is a grave turn I don't know that we will ever come out of this now where precedent has been set at local prosecutors can charge politicians particularly a former president like this It's a completely bogus case I've looked at it backwards and forwards It will probably give inspiration to the Democrat prosecutor in Atlanta and inspiration to the Democrat phony special counsel in Washington D.C. And I just want the audience to know that we are staring in the face of tyranny that the Democrat party is a totalitarian party Donald Trump should never have been criminally investigated by Mueller He should never have been impeached twice He should never have faced these kinds of investigations which are preposterous And so this is a very very serious matter the way this has been done And all this talk about the grand jury has gone for a month obviously that was subterfuge I was a cover up because they knew they were going to bring this whatever this is It's still under seal In order to I guess they did it first quote unquote security reasons But rather than the first president or former president ever indicted I think the headline here and it's a big headline is America has gone has gone tyrannical

Gov. Scott Walker: States Preparing for Presidential Caucuses

"Certainly knew your way around the state of Iowa when you ran for president. What are some of these people who are considering the 2024 run? What are they going through now, say, what, ten, 11 months before the caucuses? Well, right now, as you know, in Iowa, New Hampshire, I throw in south Glenn and Nevada, but particularly in Iowa, New Hampshire. And sometimes some of the elites out in Washington and New York like to mock the early caucus and primary states, but as I saw firsthand both as a candidate and many times as a governor and just as a voter in the Midwest, I've seen that folks in Iowa and in New Hampshire in particular, those two states take it very seriously. And so you got to be there. You got to people want to kick the tires. They want to ask questions. You can't fake it. And that's where it's really, really incumbent for people who are serious about this to get there. If not just be raising money to put ads up. But to actually talk to people about things that matter, and right now, rightfully so, Donald Trump, president Trump is the FrontRunner. Is there the right to do that based upon his record of just wildly wonderful accomplishments during his four years as president, but it ultimately won't be up to me or any other pundit. It's going to be up to the voters. And so whether it's him, Nikki Haley, maybe other people like Ron DeSantis, Mike Pompeo, Mike Pence, who knows who else might get in, but there's a lot of great candidates, but it ultimately be up to the voters.

The idea that any leader of any party or an incumbent president would label half the nation as a threat to America as fascists, Paul, that never happened during the Cold War. How dangerous is this is this rhetorical flourish that we are seeing again and again and again from right inside The White House? Well, again, circle back to someone like Ronald Reagan or John F. Kennedy. They never talk that way. In fact, the president, the Reagan defeated the incumbent in 1980, Jimmy Carter never talked that way. I mean, that's over the top, 75 million people voted for Donald Trump, which is a gigantic number. And so to so to speak that way, yeah, it's outrageous and to go back to what we were talking about in the previous segment with what's going on in Ukraine with what Putin is doing. I mean, this ought to be a time for someone like Biden to try to unify the country.

Paul Kengor and Sebastian Discuss the Latest Out of Ukraine

"Paul, you mentioned the war in Ukraine. The latest piece you sent me from the spectator has to do with the saber rattling, the rusty saber rattling of Vladimir Putin Putin's nuclear itch concerning some very, very disturbing statements he has made. Talk to us about this former KGB kernel and what's happened in the last year with regard to the Kremlin and their master plan for domination in Eastern Europe. Well, he's increasingly been talking about nuclear weapons. And I've noticed this going back almost a year now. So his invasion of the Ukraine is now about, I guess, maybe 13, 14 months old. So I followed his nuclear rhetoric, very carefully. It's very disturbing. The different things that he's been saying. And I felt all along that the more desperate that this guy gets and the more that the Russians lose on the ground in the Ukraine, which they will because the Russians always get their butts kicked in military battles. I mean, people saying all the time. Could you believe that Ukrainians are repelling the Russians? Oh, yeah. I mean, the only time the Russians ever pull anything off is thanks to the Russian winner when they're invaded. Right, Napoleon 1812, Hitler, the drop in temperature and the mud, right? Yeah, that's exactly right. And by sheer numbers, the losing 20, 30 million people in World War II. You take the U.S. and the UK combined in World War II. We lost like what? 607 100,000 combined. Multiply that by like 30 or 40 and you're getting to what the Soviets lost in World War II. It's relatively easy to win when you have no regard for human life and you've got a lot of people to just kind of throw into the minefield.

The Major Red Flag of a Potential "TikTok Ban"

"Week, we had senator Josh hawley on the program who laid out a very convincing and persuasive case about how damaging TikTok is to our country and boy do I believe that. It's digital fentanyl. It's helping spread the trans social contagion. It's addicting. Kids to screen time. It is ruining their ability to engage in the real and natural world. It spreads awful elements of social leftism while suppressing conservative speech. The Chinese Communist Party is profiling our children in spying on our children. The Chinese Communist Party is using TikTok as a way to try to remake the youth of America in a weaker direction, TikTok is awful. It's garbage, it's terrible. We're not ever going to defend TikTok. Obviously. And so Washington, D.C., being pushed by the way by the tech companies. This is the first thing that we must understand. Is that out of nowhere? Ex nihilo. Washington, D.C., started to have bipartisan hearings on TikTok? All of a sudden they start to care about the Chinese Communist Party. No, no, no. YouTube who has well over a thousand lobbyists on payroll, Facebook who has hundreds of lobbyists and other tech companies started to build a coalition together to try to get Washington D.C. to ban TikTok and do more than ban TikTok, by the way. It wasn't just about banning TikTok. We'll get into that in a second. But all of a sudden, you started to see Democrats and Republicans agree on something that should just make you take pause. Wait a second. Bipartisanship is not exactly something I trust. That means that you have a lot of people that are going to get very powerful very quickly. Red flag, if you will. And the biggest winner by the way of a TikTok ban would be YouTube owned by Google and we called this 9 or 12 months ago. No one really took us seriously because we're on these platforms so often, but YouTube about a year ago launched YouTube shorts a little bit actually before that, but they've really been ramping it up. And so YouTube would be a major market winner if they are able to ban TikTok because they already have a TikTok lookalike competitor. So

Which Crypto Exchanges Are Staying or Leaving Canada?

"Jen, you got the first story we're going up north to Canada, at least. I guess you're already there. I'm already here. Yeah, I'm bringing you guys with me. Come on up north to Canada where crypto regulation is getting tighter. So regulation is tightening for crypto exchanges and firms are responding and cracking has filed pre registration paperwork with the Ontario securities commission to become a registered restricted dealer in Canada, coinbase is in talks to remain in the country while one of the articles will be discussing today says that it looks like finance is likely to leave Adam. I'm going to kick this off to you first. What do you make of these tighter regulations all the way up north? We've got the cold weather and now we can't even really interact with crypto the way we want to. Well, I'll leave some of the Canada specific sort of analysis for you, but my take on an overall is that Canada is largely dependent and drives a lot of its monetary policy by sort of what's going on here in the United States, policy around banking and stuff like that. The banking sector up in Canada is also significantly smaller and much more kind of involved with the state than we typically see down here in the U.S.. So it's not surprising to me that they're also on this sort of tightening regime. What seems to be nice at least about the Canadian rules, though, is that there do appear to be actual rules that they're giving for people to follow. And then you have a choice of who I want to follow these new rules or do I want to no longer do business in this country. And that's the choice that really I don't think has been given in the U.S. to many of the entities that are here and are trying to kind of do both. So not surprising to see that. Also not surprising to see that some exchanges are willing to double down on that kind of regulatory process. When you're an exchange like crack and you're an exchange like coinbase, the hoops you're already jumping through as a U.S. regulated entity are probably as onerous, maybe a little bit more onerous than what you're going to get up in Canada. So if your entire business model is built around jumping through all these regulatory hoops that 95% of the companies out there aren't willing to jump through, it does make sense to me that you would continue to jump through them in a market that was similar to

Dinesh Has Some Fun With the Stormy Daniels Prosecution

"Manhattan DA's prosecution of Donald Trump in the stormy Daniels matter. You might say, wait a second. How do you prosecute somebody for paying hush money to a porn star? Whether or not we're leaving aside the facts of the case to Trump have an affair with stormy Daniels, dead Trump reimbursed Michael Cohen, the attorney who made the payment, leave all that aside. What is the illegality here? Well, the illegality supposedly comes in the form of a campaign finance violation because again, the Manhattan DA has the job of proving that this was in fact this money was taken from campaign finance funds, and frankly, even if it was normally this kind of offense is treated as just nothing more than campaign as to now reimburse those funds. Remember Obama had campaign finance violations totaling hundreds of thousands of dollars, and all they said was, listen, pay the money back. End of story. So the idea of converting this into a felony, which carries, by the way, four years in prison, just downright absurd. The whole thing is preposterous. But guess what? After we heard that in the rest of Trump was imminent, Trump is going to be in handcuffs, strom himself seemed to think this was actually going to happen. And we saw police putting a barricades around the courthouse in a sense to keep people away and guess in case there was an outburst of protest overall this. And then suddenly the air seemed to go out of the balloon. They passed in two days and three days, no rest well, they're gonna be reconvening on Monday and then we hear now they're on break for a month. What? A month. Yes, a month. So I don't really necessarily want to go into the sexual analogies here. But since we're talking about stormy, Daniels, I mean legally, this is a total coitus interruptus.

"The heck is going on? The story I wanted to mention is that TikTok. You know that app that is said to be a Chinese spy app where the Chinese are not only mining data important data from all of us via our cell devices, but are also doing what they can to divide us and to encourage the worst of society if you would in terms of behavior. Their algorithms are really some of the most egregious. There has been a lot of chatter about banning TikTok which for national security reasons is probably pretty darn important. I mean, when the federal government tells all of its employees look, you can't be on TikTok. There's a reason for that. There's a reason for that, but do you know you have the likes of three major Democrats, perhaps the most high profile one being a guy named David pluff who ran Obama's campaign, David blough, was getting paid, by TikTok. This is all behind the scenes. To prepare the CEO for those hearings, boy, was he smooth, right? He was so smooth. So smoothie actually said something super idiotic, which was that no country controls TikTok. You're kidding me, right? Because you see TikTok is part of ByteDance, ByteDance. Is the Chinese company. And you do not exist. Let me just let me emphasize this. You do not exist in China as a company, unless the CCP has a thing or two to say about you. Well with the public, the thinking is that this is an extremely thin thin case and really shouldn't be brought, and thus it's being done for political reasons and political reasons only. "Brazil's former far right populist president returned to his country to seek a new political role after a three month stay in Florida, jair Bolsonaro had left Brazil just before the end of his presidential term. His absence meant he did not hand the presidential sash to his successor Luis Inacio Lula da Silva, who had narrowly won the October election, Bolsonaro's move was a break with tradition, and was followed by a hoard of his supporters storming government buildings a week after Lula took office, seeking to oust the new president from power, some experts believe now that Bolsonaro has returned his first objective will be to rally opposition to luda's governments. However, his aim to reassume political prominence may be obstructed by a series of investigations, including whether he incited the January 8th uprising. I'm Karen Chammas

"Who talks about the The idea of a lab leak indicates that nobody knows nobody knows yet, But there is a lot of evidence that points to the fact that there may have been a lab leak and that China appears to have interfered in terms of doing a real investigation to uncover the evidence that may indicate that So I'd like you to tell us your perspective on the theory of the origin of Covid 19 and do each of these theories cancel one another out. I mean, it seems like it is something that developed in nature. Could it have Transferred to a human and then it was taken into the lab. And then there was study being done on it. Does it indicate if you believe in the lab league theory, does that mean that you believe that it was a virus that was manipulated in the lab to become more virulent and to be able to jump species? Does it? Does it mean that you believe that it was a bio weapon that was being developed by the Chinese government? Dr Chen Hong Great question, Pat. I remember when you brought this up, You know, maybe it was a month or so ago, And at that point, I think I was maybe a little bit more skeptical of the publicly. Lab leak theory, But I think looking more of the data at this point. I can't exclude it. I don't think it was woeful. I don't think somebody's engineering this As a bioweapon and releasing it to destroy the world. But it's not impossible that it was a repository in, uh, Library of naturally available, um, you know, available viruses, and it somehow got out by mistake. Um, I still think it's very plausible that it came from nature. But, um, you know, these are the three possibilities, right? It was engineering and it will fall by some, uh uh, Doctor Doom. It was, uh, something as part of a library of natural viruses that Got out by mistake, or it was just from nature itself. So I think choice two and three are possible at the end of the day. We do want an independent, uh, study of this with no political interference. That is, uh, somebody you can go in. Interview who they want to, uh and write the report on their own without people are part of the the Borg part of the report. And then I think it may have more credibility. But right now we don't have all that information and may never be able to get it because of obstruction and because of political interference.

"Has made me think about that. Just yeah do have time to really worry about that is that that shouldn't probably be a priority for me. That shouldn't catch me or move me in the way does one. Is that the other thing. That's so good about i. I love those. I love both of those stories. And i love that you reference warns yvonne. I mean come on what it also points to is the fact that we talk about the soul we often are thinking in sort of like airy-fairy out there in the stratosphere kinda terms that idea of how good sandwich tastes that is a deeply human and i would say since it's deeply human. It's deeply spiritual. It's a deeply significant soul kind of moment because we were still fighting the nostitz ism of body bad spirit. Good the one. Doesn't you know they. They live together in context. And so you know that first time after the lockdown that i went outside and like went and played golf it was it was a feel like there was a physical sensation of all. This like i've done this for twenty some years but this time feels different. Yeah like there's something sacred not wear played far from it. But there's something sacred about this moment. And this this physical feeling of of experiencing like the life that god has made And andy would miss that. I it would have just been well. Of course it's spring and we're gonna play golf. That's what we do but there was something more sickness so not only just the the slowing down and trimming the list. Giving us a chance to almost who is. It's a the philosopher. Paul record talks about the second naievety coming back to something again for the first time and almost gives us this beautiful moment to rediscover. How good is made the physical world and how deeply that matters to us in our formation. Yeah absolutely i i remember. My daughter hopes roommate asked for her bike over the summer. But i remember when i got on that by an ridden a bike and well but just got on a bike and it was out in the air and breathing. This is probably two months into the pandemic. Maybe three but i remember just going. Wow i guess like it was ten years old riding a bike again. So this this feeling it just i never would have felt that if it wasn't for the pandemic so there are some of those those kind of experiences and then Gosh was just a month or so ago we were on our deck and kids were over with their significant others and we're having a lovely afternoon the deck and then these neighbors that live in behind us and one over catty-cornered.

"Oh so the next topic. Wanna talk about an fte's so you guys heard of the new non fungible. Fungible toby's tokens. That's right this right. This is something that is i. Don't wanna go out and say it's gained popularity. Because i think there was maybe a week or two maybe a month or so ago where you know someone tweeted something about some digital art. That now is you know has an nf t people were like. Oh my gosh that needs sixty million. You know bitcoin. Or whatever you know from this transaction and then people are like what the hell's t and then when you discover what it actually is you're like That's interesting so. I wanted to kind of talk about first of all what it is and then article which will link in the show notes. I don't know. I would debate the title this of calling it the new threat landscape and if tease the new threat landscape know if there's really a threat landscape here with nafta's this is just another kind of crypto currency blocked. Cheney fun thing right now no one knows what's going to happen to feel like enough to use. Her are interesting that they exist in that people are spending this kind of money on them. I i think i don't care. Isn't it kind of like the tool. Bold inflationary period. It's like okay so there so so so let's talk about fungible versus non fungible and terms of like. What does that mean because a lot of fun. I did want to say fund breath not fundable but fungible fungible. You have a drink. Every time we say the word problem you should probably see doctor but fungible fungible before yes so fungible the thing about it as a dollar bill right. Canadian or american exchanged with another dollar bill. And that's a fungible asset right. it's equal value. Non fungible is something that you can't determine a value like a collectible So a painting physical painting baseball card Anything like that is considered non fungible. To me. I'm going, I'm going to remember the regular season and how painful it was with guys in on the line up admittedly. But we were all saying they they look healthy. They look like they're going to actually be healthy and going in this play, in our playoff, this is before Rob the Rob thing. So of course, something like I said that on Saturday. Yeah, something like this would have to happen in this this season. It's just been one of those Seasons wage. I think like a month or so ago. We were literally like it's just going to be one of those Seasons where it just like, they'll never be fully healthy and we were like, yeah, it's starting to the other way and this seals the deal, this was just one of those seeds. That's, that's like asking Max. Like I can't think of a season where you just never quite got the starting unit together. The way this one is gone and so people hate to hear that but that's a legitimate lie. Devastating thing happened during the course of regular season. Yes, what they should do from here, John. I think what's good is they do have that positioning and like the upper tier playing game pretty locked? Now you're still going to have paid and play and they didn't know you're still going to phone, you plant, you probably put Rob on a ice until the end the next week ended up playing in that gives him like a week and change to rest that..

We're going to have kind of a fun day because as you all know. Dr paul always advises keeping humorous keeping on the bright side keeping optimistic. Enjoying what you're doing spreading the message of liberty with a smile on your face and being happy doing it and i think. Recently i've discovered someone who really embodies that in in brings a lot of energy and a lot of humor into a serious subject that can frankly be a bit didactic at times and this is a chan. She is an artist and educator. I would say in a philosopher. And in fact she goes by the moniker. The philosopher on youtube and elsewhere and she's a self-described anadarko capitalist voluntary anarchist and libertarian. Who says that. The non aggression principle is the highest value for her I thank you for joining us. And welcome to the liberty report so much for having me on daniels. It's a pleasure to be here. I also just got the live alert. Oh no that's surprising because no one gets the livelier. It's like winning the lotto i think. Yeah because well You know. I i came to to see your work. "Weeks after the second dose and the latest data put out by pfizer indicates that they're vaccine still provides protection against the south african variant of covid nineteen but alongside the positive vaccine news. There's also plenty to be concerned about while. Nationwide corona virus deaths are down over the last two weeks. Overall cases have been on the rise according to the new york times and as cases go up a growing number of states are continuing to move forward with increased capacities for restaurants movie theaters and sporting events. These reopenings are often happening against the recommendations of public health experts. Many of whom say states should be holding off at least a little bit longer to help. Keep cases down for more. I'm joined now by a poor monday. Villi science reporter at the new york times. Ah porta great to have you back. Thanks for having megan so we mentioned that there. Cdc data now about the effectiveness of the vaccine and the general population. Tell us more about what the numbers show so far so far the numbers. Tell us that the vaccines are excellent. Really just so much better than we could have hoped on Severe cases and deaths and they seem to be very good also at preventing illness. At all what we don't know is whether they prevent transmission from somebody who is infected And who's been vaccinated to another person and that's been a very key question the we still are hoping to get the answer to and hopefully the answer will be someone who's been needed rarely gets ill and even more rarely transmits to somebody else but we just don't know quite yet. And how does this new data compared to what the clinical trials showed the new data showing up basically what the trials showed us The trials were obviously only in a few tens of thousands of people and there was always some worried that when you translate to millions and millions of people getting vaccinated. Maybe the vaccines would prove to be not quite as good and that really hasn't been the case they still seem to be spectacularly good so we're very lucky there As i said the remaining question is you know how often they might get infected which also seems to be very low and then if they do get infected how often they might transmit to someone else and do we. Is there more detail in terms of you know like this is the kind of thing that keeps me up at night. Worrying is like do we know just how you know how effective it is like the is it less serious the effect when someone does get infected if they've been vaccinated you know are we as has anyone died. Are we seeing death. Still with among a small number of vaccinated people yet we are absolutely not and we're not even seeing severe cases so far so i think the vaccines still seem to be what the trials measured which is severe illness and death. They still seem to be close to one hundred percent effective for that. So that has been really excellent news and that's true across the board for all of the vaccines whether that pfizer in darn our jj and astrazeneca. That's good to hear could news. We we need good news We had a caller asked an interesting question. So let's play that for you. I am vaccinated but am holding off on joyous reunions for the time being. I simply haven't found any data or got any information that tells me about the efficacy of the vaccines for people with severe underlying health conditions have to pulmonary diseases. And i can't really take a chance until i know how safe the vaccine is for people with conditions like mine. So i keep waiting. What can you say to randy about underlying conditions. Well it depends what the underlying condition is. I mean in randy's case i can see why she's concerned because she's had pulmonary illnesses and and obviously cove is. It is a disease of the lungs and so she is particularly concerned about that. It sounds like an at this point with the rates going up. I don't think that caution is unwarranted for somebody who is at high risk It's also true for people who are immunocompromised for example people who have some kind of genetic immuno-compromised situation or people who are being tweeted for some kinds of blood cancers. They are at the highest risk. And we're not entirely sure that they produce a very strong immune response when they are vaccinated so for certain people. It's not a bad idea to continue to be careful at least until the numbers come way down so we are continuing to see you know. Cova case numbers stubbornly high in some states so and even rising in some places so what what explains that recent upswing given the effectiveness of the vaccine. This is something that experts have been predicting for weeks that at the end of march beginning of april we would see the numbers. Come back up and that's because there has been variant of the virus called b one one seven. This is the same variant that was in the uk over the winter break And that has been spreading in the united states and this variant has been spreading exponentially growing exponentially and so researchers were predicting just looking at the numbers that around the end of march. We start to see that. Come up and even though the overall numbers have been coming down at some point be one one seven numbers would grow enough though we would start to see those cases go up again and do we have a sense of whether the recent rise in cases is connected to states allowing life to come back more to normal indoor dining gyms etc. Absolutely i think as you mentioned in the intro you know a lot of states have opened up because the numbers were going down but at the same time these be one one seven numbers were going up and they didn't really pay attention to those partly because it was hard to see that those numbers were going up because the overall infections we're going down and so a lot of states opened up way too soon and now you know be one one. Seven is finding fertile ground to spread. Because you know there are a lot of very few restrictions and a lot of places but still a lot of people who have not been vaccinated and who haven't had the disease before earlier in the pandemic nursing homes were particularly hard hit by outbreaks And the death toll was was quite extreme. so howard. Vaccinations changing that. I i read early reports you know a month or so ago. That death rates in nursing homes were going down at least in the state of new jersey. I read that. So how's it going over. All across the country with nursing homes nursing homes are doing better overall. We are seeing fewer deaths from nursing homes because those are the highest risk people and most of them have been vaccinated and same for the people who work in those nursing homes overall we've been vaccinating from highest conditions so we should see lower hospitalizations and that's in this wave if it ends up being a full wave than me have before so that is a little bit better than any previous waves of the pandemic. We've seen where you force. The cases would go up and then hospitalizations would go up and then deaths would go up and we may still see that those carbs also go back up. You know with the delay hospitalizations. Look like they're already going up a little bit but we can hope that it won't be anywhere near as bad as it was before because all of.

You don't necessarily a numeric limits like you for effluent for odors and a lot of places some sites Too but But the general public is better educated cases of closer to where plant sites with the and other much more vocals of voters or more front and center topic are becoming more funds that our topic than than they have in the best at least in a lot of places. So receiving emphasized and getting a lot more scrutiny. Part of that is. I think you know you mentioned when we talked beforehand about You know just the continued kind of development and growth and how that is encroaching on water facilities and just kind of Causing some of that that Friction if you will especially as a lot of areas around the country see pretty pretty expansive growth in the southeastern texas and you know out west. And that's done as part of the issue Of this big part of the issue More vince development. Now and not. We don't have the large landmasses available for treating facilities market that we didn't passed and And again general better educated better informed with social media and some of the communication tools available to them so like mixture more challenging environment. I think i think it's definitely pushed us in a direction as well. We're seeing a lot of innovation as a result of some of those problems in terms of More more data being collected as sensor technology has really improved across the industry Were saying more more different types of monitoring equipment and Software data that's been collected It's really helping a municipalities. Be more informed about What it is that they might have The other problem areas and really trying to respond to those those things in real time which has got a very unique situation. now where Maybe even just ten years ago. The idea that a you'd be able to get real time data was was in a reliable fashion was a little bit far fetched. But now it's pretty easy for folks to deploy monitoring for transmission of that information in real time and can be able to respond to The informed public need in a way. The serves their expectations as well. Mentioning technology and data and so forth. I know that Again when we're kind of planning to have this conversation sensor technology was something that you That was raised. So i'm i'm curious to. You know what's going on on that front for years. We've really been focused on hydrogen sulfide and then all the other compounds and part of the reason for that A certain degree has been that Hundred sulfide and not only being predominant odor compound but really we have reliable sensors for that particular compound for many years and then trying to characterize all the other different types of volatile organic compounds and nitrogen odor causing compounds reduced for compounds as has been difficult but as at sensor technology has improved receiving a lot more Ability to to calibrate the sensors navy Pacific and needs of a of a particular facility depending on what if they can identify a certain odor causing compound and then we're just seeing more development of technology in general commercial space resume interesting article that i came across a month or so ago about some researchers that were actually using live moth antennas that Producing electrical signal when the when the moth smells odor essentially and so they were using actually using that intent from a real law the generating electrical signals to follow and odors. There's just lots of lots of neat things that we're seeing develop for various reasons when the marketplace that could have some some adaptability and applica- -bility within our industry and that could be fears. Op i think very interested in seeing what comes of that while we see how technology changes so rapidly right. It's just a leaps and bounds all the time when it comes to every facet of tack and so this change happens quicker than league imagined sometimes on shirtless. Yeah mark. you were going to say something. Yeah say instead. The with sensor technology in couple with some modeling capability only aaron atmospheric dispersion modeling we. We're developing now the the ability to predict when odor problems might have gotten to know ahead of time for those might occur in the next step might be to change processes when when. That's possibility to do something about it. Proactively so the sensor technology has some real ramification ramifications. it could be you've been official and then Speaking of modeling in another light that went process modeling bears on a program for the conference. Coming up we're looking at a holistic model plant nutrient ballot nutrient movil and how chemicals or biological processes and chemical spadeful odor. Control those all work together in what they do inside treating land so that's a as exciting developments maker. Invasive dividends one of the other areas. I wanted to to hear what's going on on regulatory front and and what's happening with regulations and requirements and You know that's always a challenge in a in a shifting landscape and a tangled web all of that stuff so what what's going on on on the regulatory front woods. They are keynote speakers. Mike mcginley has been involved with a group from a extra several different nations around the world. He's willing to be comparing and contrasting over regulations Not only among all states but several other countries and if there has been i guess extent working toward trying to not with uniform regulations. We may be ways out through doing that. What the unlike unlike effluent odors.

Because i have a little bit of information about that one. I don't know exactly what they're going to do. And quite frankly was only a month or so ago that i was told there isn't going to be any takeover over wrestlemania weekend so things change and i believe that whatever they're going to do is a direct result of the fact that they're moving to tuesdays.
