A police officer who was under investigation for more than a year but ultimately was not charged with causing the death of Manny Ellis testified yesterday. Officer Macy Ford who was Timothy Rankin's patrol partner at the time said in court Rankin did nothing wrong the night of the fatal struggle. Ford was one of approximately 20 law enforcement officers who responded to the South Tacoma scene on the night Ellis died. It was March of 2020. He helped control Ellis during the prolonged constraint that according to an autopsy killed Ellis. "Got an air a list of areas to be evacuated at thirty four now up from nineteen the day earlier what are we about to see in southern gaza well i think that's part of the concern is that that's as you noted where all the civilians from the north have moved down into and it takes time to move people it takes time for people to get the information that they need to move and in some cases they might not able be to not only be if they have injured folks who aren't able to move but israeli forces have said before that they suspect tamas might be forcing people to stay in place to provide that kind of civilian shield cover that we're very concerned about so i think what we're looking at is a major operation that's going to be moving south and i think that's why you're seeing a lot of this debate coming out into the open about how do we do that in a way that at best possible tries to preserve civilian sure life i guess this could be any moment now of course uh... we've seen a bit of a pattern things start to go the way we don't like secretary blinking gets on an airplane is he going to be back there this week? "This episode of Markets Daily is sponsored by CME Group and PayPal. It's Monday, November 6th, 2023, and this is Markets Daily from Coindesk. My name is Noelle Acheson, Coindesk collaborator and author of the Cryptos Macro Now newsletter on Substat. On today's show, we're talking about trading volumes, layer 2 blockchains, business activity, and more. So you don't miss an episode, be sure to follow the podcast on your platform of choice and turn on notifications. Just a reminder, Coindesk is a news source and does not provide investment advice. Now, a markets roundup. Crypto markets had a relatively quiet yet positive weekend. According to Coindesk indices, at 9am Eastern Time today, Bitcoin was trading at $35 ,066, up 0 .04 % over the past 24 hours. Ether was trading at $1 ,904, up 1 .5%. Elsewhere, Ripple's XRP token is up more than 13%, Uniswap and Stellar are up more than 7%, and Avax and Filecoin are up over 5%. A more optimistic sentiment does seem to be consolidating, and when it comes to Bitcoin, the gentle upward slope of the price trajectory over the past couple of weeks suggests that the increases are from a steady inflow of new demand. This is more organic, as opposed to the sharp moves that we have seen recently, many of which were triggered by derivatives -related repositioning. Hopefully this also means the trend is more sustainable than other upward moves we've seen so far this year. In macro indicators, we need to look at a point from Friday that was somewhat overshadowed in the excitement about the soft employment report. We need to talk about the US Purchasing Managers Index, or PMI, specifically that for services. There are a few PMI series published, but one of the main ones comes from the Institute for Supply Management, which measures business activity on a monthly basis via an index that reflects responses from purchasing managers as to whether the market conditions are expanding, staying the same, or contracting. Anything above 50 is expansion, below 50 is contraction. On Friday, we got the Institute for Supply Management's PMI for the services industry. Services PMI is especially interesting given that services contribute almost 80 % of US GDP, and it is services -related inflation that has proven particularly hard to bring down. Well, in October, according to the index, services activity in the US declined for the second consecutive month. It is still expanding, but at its weakest pace in five months and notably less than economists had forecast. It's too soon to say this deceleration will last. A separate gauge of new orders increased in October after a sizable drop in September, so we could see activity pick up again next month. The reading does highlight that the economy is looking a bit choppy, though, and it makes the next few monthly PMI readings all the more relevant. In stocks, as expected, the US indices continued their upward march on Friday, as softer -than -expected jobs data brought forward expectations of a rate cut and pushed bond yields down further. The US 10 -year yield on Friday almost touched 4 .5 % for the first time since September, having been at 5 % just a few days earlier. The S &P 500 was up almost 1%, the Nasdaq closed up 1 .4%, and the Dow Jones rose two -thirds of a percent. Futures this morning are pointing to a mixed opening. In Europe, stocks were largely mixed to flat on Friday in spite of the US enthusiasm, but they closed out a strong week with the German DAX and the broader Eurostox 600 posting their strongest weekly gains since March. The FTSE 100 showed some weakness, closing four -tenths of a percent lower but still breaking a two -week losing streak. So far this morning, sentiment is still looking mixed. In Asia, sentiment in today's trading was decidedly bullish. Japan's Nikkei index jumped 2 .4%, the Hang Seng closed up 1 .7%, and even the recently beleaguered Shanghai Composite Index rose almost 1%. In commodities, oil prices settled more than 2 % lower on Friday as supply concerns eased. This morning, the Brent crude benchmark was recovering slightly, trading up 0 .5 % at $86 .50 the barrel. Gold is again holding steady, trading at $1 ,986 an ounce. Stay with us. After the break, we're going to take a closer look at some intriguing insights in Coinbase's Q3 earnings. Crypto exchange Coinbase released its third quarter earnings last week. Now that I've had a chance to go through them, there are a few things worth highlighting. Revenue fell by almost 5 % from the previous quarter, a smaller drop than most analysts were expecting, and the net loss shrunk from almost $100 million in the second quarter to around $2 million in the third quarter. Unsurprisingly, most of the revenue drop was due to a decline in transaction fees, which of course accompanies a drop in trading volumes. According to Coinbase, global spot volumes were down 24 % in the third quarter, which is, you know, ouch. Coinbase's volumes fell by less. Retail trading volume was down by 21 % and institutional trading volume was down by 17%. Nevertheless, this obviously hurt, but less than many other crypto trading businesses since trading revenue accounts for less than half of the company's income. An interesting insight is that it's not just trading volumes that impact exchange revenues, it's also crypto asset volatility. With higher volatility, traders trade more. According to Coinbase in the third quarter, crypto asset volatility reached its lowest point since 2016. Well, if you've been following the Bitcoin price recently, you'll have noticed that it has picked up. According to data from the block, 30 -day historical volatility for Bitcoin is roughly three times what it was at August's low point. This is good news for exchanges, especially since spot volumes should follow volatility up. Together, they should increase overall liquidity, which would be very good news as that could encourage more new large investors to enter the numbers. I want to mention something Coinbase CEO Brian Armstrong said in the earnings call. He opened with what he himself acknowledged was a provocative statement about the future of blockchain development. I quote, on chain is the new online end quote. He goes on to elaborate how blockchains are extending the impact of the internet on the way we interact by bringing back the decentralization that was the original part of the internet manifesto. But not only that, blockchains also introduced the concept of ownership, which the internet was missing. But how can blockchains become as ubiquitous and flexible as the internet? According to Armstrong, it's through layer twos, which are scalable blockchains that anchor to layer one security. Layer one in this case refers to base layer blockchains such as Bitcoin and has this to say about layer twos. I quote, the transition from layer one networks to layer two networks can be likened to the transition from dial up internet to broadband. That's an evocative comparison for sure. Some could accuse it of being somewhat commercial since Coinbase launched a layer two network this summer. Called base, it anchors to Ethereum and aims to provide a fast and reliable platform for developers to work on practically any type of application. Activity has declined since the initial hype, but base is still doing pretty well. According to DefyLama, total value locked, which is the amount stored in smart contracts on the network is around $300 million with roughly 55 ,000 daily active addresses. For context, that's slightly less than half the number of daily active addresses on Arbitrum, the largest layer two in terms of value locked. But we should remember that base has only been open to the public for a long time. However, rather than dismiss the comparison of layer twos to the advent of broadband as a self -serving framework, we can look at the investment in base as an extension of a loftier goal to rethink what we want the internet to be. Here we have an exchange focusing on more than trading volumes. And while Coinbase will earn revenue on its layer two through sequencer fees, there are no plans to issue a token as yet that could centralize the monetization of network growth. Will layer twos become the new internet only with greater decentralization and a new concept of digital ownership? Obviously, I hope so. There's a long way to go though, in terms of usability. And there's the danger we end up with what we have now, a concentration of power and dubious monetization strategies. A big difference is the transparency of layer two development. And there's a lot of us watching and rooting for it to succeed. That's it for today's show. For more crypto podcasts, check out the Coindesk Podcast Network. "Over the weekend lloyd austin here this kind of a fight the center of gravity is the civilian population and if you drive them into arms of the enemy you replace a tactical victory with a strategic defeat so i have repeatedly made clear to israel's leaders that protecting palestinian civilians in gaza is both a moral responsibility and a strategic imperative strategic imperative and that's where we start our conversation with jenny welch from bloomberg economics she is geopolitical which advisor ends up in the wonderful title geoeconomics analyst great to see you welcome jenny it's kind of amazing here and for folks who haven't heard you on the program you work for the biden administration you're a former official intelligence and you know the weight of comments like that from the secretary of defense this is the man running the military not not on the political side of things how important is that no i think the jerry's comments were quite stark and in particular stark on the idea of concern about civilian casualties here at the same time what i think this is pointing to is the administration responding to live concerns about how the war is being prosecuted and also future concerns as he was speaking there to sort of the strategic imperative of not taking actions now that will plant the seeds for future conflict future hostilities in that we're creating terrorists exactly by killing civilians in this case not that the us is doing it but our support our is there and a lot of people see the administration's fingerprints on this is that fair i think that's i think that's exactly how a lot of people are looking at it the u .s is one of the major backers of israel not just politically diplomatically in the u n but also in terms of military assistance and in fact that's very much a live issue right now with the ministration asking congress for additional support to provide israel with things like iron dome interceptors an additional material that's being used at this very moment what israel says do you want from us we were attacked we didn't tell you what to do after 9 11 and hamas is literally surrounding itself by civilians so how do you neutralize that threat without collateral damage it's an incredibly challenging environment from a military perspective tactically speaking as you noted there's not a lot of strategic depth here the insurgents that israel is aiming against are oftentimes co -located or in very close proximity to civilian and civilian infrastructure and i think that's where the concern comes in the other concern that the israeli forces have is you know about things like airstrikes which from a distant perspective seem to be not targeted enough and why are they using more ground forces the concern from the other perspective is that is incredibly hostile and dangerous environment and having those sort of advanced airstrikes is meant to help protect israeli forces when they eventually do send in ground troops but it's a very complicated situation i think the other thing i'd flag is it's a very complicated information environment there's a lot of different narratives out there and it makes it really ground hard to truth get well boy that's for sure look this is your area of expertise is is it fair to criticize israel then uh... is it possible to be more strategic or is it easy for politicians to suggest as much i mean i think there's a lot of different perspectives that play here right and i think where i would say the administration is coming from is the perspective of still very backing much israel they're still trying to send military support to israel they're still backing in the diplomatic field but the comments over the weekend point to the fact also using that influence that leverage that relations with with israel to push them not just in the direction that i think serves american interests but from their strategic perspective will ultimately in the long term serve israeli interests as well and that's i think some of the movement starting you're to see right now publicly but it's been happening behind closed doors i think since october seventh tough message to sell obviously in this environment but we're seeing u .s. warships attacked on the regular it seems like we had another one last week just over the weekend now in the red sea a warship attacked over the course of i think seven hours down three different drones yeah and and issued quite a statement here talking about the threats from iran proxies if i could pull this up here central command says the attacks were fully enabled by iran in response to the is israel hamas war if that's the case has the second front opened i mean i think this has been kind of an ongoing challenge right is the issue of these proxy battles that are happening and it started very soon after october 7th i mean hamas itself is backed by iran uh hezbollah and southern lebanon which has also been very much engaged and active is also backed by iran and then now you have the huthis involved as well so i i don't think this is necessarily a brand new development it's certainly an escalation of the situation and i think from market's perspective the concern is going to be is putting some of those key trade routes at risk i think at this point i have pretty high confidence that certainly the u .s navy and other forces in the region are in control of the situation and will be able to manage their risk but i think every time this new story pops up it leads to this concern of this is a key choke point is this going to get into more of a fray that blocks traffic right yeah do we send more assets to the region we've already got quite a lot of assets there yeah exactly and then we start using them more jenny well i think they've been used pretty effectively defensively right and i mean one of the things to underscore here which might be an obvious point is yes some of these forces are very well trained and well equipped but compared to a major military like the united states is a really asymmetric sort of battle here and in particular when it comes to our ability to provide air cover and larger defense i i think that's where our strength is less so focused on numbers and more in terms of quality of our systems so what are we in for here up in leaflets they've put up maps now that cut gaza into twenty four hundred blocks it's getting that specific telling people where to move where to leave israel's asking for credit by the way when it to comes that saying that they are trying to to spare civilian lives but we've got an air a list of areas to be evacuated at thirty four now up from nineteen the day earlier what are we about to see in southern gaza well i think that's part of the concern

A highlight from God Comes to Man_05PT4

"Hi, I'm Darrell Bailey, thank you for tuning in on the Gospel of John as we continue our Wednesday in the Word, the identity or the deity of Jesus. Here as we're talking about chapter 1, we're talking about God comes to man. Here this is the fifth in the series, part 4 of God comes to man. We pick up with verse 35 going all the way down to verse 51 to the end of chapter 1. When we look at Genesis of the New Testament. And so when we look and we begin to realize, now John mentions the first in John 2, which is basically the most unique thing about the book of John. When you look at all the comparisons of the portrait of Jesus as the king, the servant, the teacher and the son of God. John in the fourth column. Here we see that his key phrase is believe and but what you can't see is right down where my face is located is the most unique thing about the book or the Gospel of John is there's three Passovers involved in it. In the Synoptics of Matthew, Mark and Luke, there's only one Passover mentioned. Remember, Jesus mentions or John the Apostle mentions so many things that were unique in the Gospel of John. He talks about his sermons. He only mentions seven miracles where there's only two that coincide with the Synoptics of Matthew, Mark and Luke. And so John mentions the first in John chapter 2 and the second Passover is in John chapter 6 verse 4 and the third Passover is in John chapter 11 verse 55. It extends on into John chapter 12 verse 1, John chapter 13 verse 1, oh so as it hits back on John chapter 18 verse 28 and 39 and John chapter 19 verse 14. This third Passover was really the one that occurred on the night before Jesus died and it was the one recorded by all four Gospel writers in conjunction with the Last Supper and the death of Jesus Christ. So the first Passover is only recorded in John's Gospel and it may have been the Passover around April the 18th, 8029, the first year of Jesus's public ministry and so as these three Passovers occur in the three years of Jesus's earthly ministry, John alone records the three separate Passover celebrations that he mentions again as I said a while ago. The first one, John 2, the second Passover is in John 6 verse 4, then the third one extends from chapter 11, 12, 13, 18 and chapter 19. And so what an extraordinary writings of the book of John that we see that's in front of us and so this is very, very unique because the Passover as the Jew that obeyed the Mosaic law according to Deuteronomy chapter 16 in keeping with the mission to fulfill the law, the first Passover John records, he's running out the money changers and so in John chapter 2 verse 12 that I said a while ago that after he went down to Capernaum, he and his mother and his brothers and his disciples, they stayed there a few days and so it deals with that first Passover in John chapter 2 and how he deals with things there as well. And so you can compare this to Luke's account of Jesus is doing the same thing two years later in Luke chapter 19 and you know as he was throwing the money changer that my house shall be a house of prayer but you've made it a robber's den and so each and every one of us when we look at the different accounts that each begins to transpire, the most unique thing again I say that in the Gospel of John is there's three Passovers where the synoptic of Matthew, Mark and Luke only have one Passover. Now John tells about the witnesses to the revelation of Jesus Christ, John begins his Gospel by talking about the deity of Christ. He describes the ministry of John the Baptist and then Jesus is baptized and he calls his very first disciples and so Matthew emphasizes his kingship to portray Jesus as the son of David, the Messiah, the king of the Jews and it's directed especially toward a Jewish audience. The genealogy traces the Lord's family tree from Mary all the way back to Abraham and the key word as we said of Matthew is fulfilled because the messianic prophecies were fulfilled in Jesus Christ then we see Mark in his servanthood and in that it betrays the Lord as this suffering servant with the Roman reader in mind it opens the beginning of public ministry of Christ and it records even events of his life that's the key word of straightaway meaning and indicating immediate action and so when we look at Luke and his manhood the Gospel of Luke portrays Christ as the son of man that emphasizes his humanity and of Christ it traces the genealogy of the Lord back to Adam and has the Greek and the Gentile reader in mind. The first three Gospels as we said the synoptics of Matthew, Mark, and Luke describe the events and the life of the Lord Jesus Christ but when we come to the Gospel of John, John his godhood, we find that he emphasizes the meaning of the events in the Gospels that he records much of what is unsaid. He portrays Jesus as the son of God tracing not to Abraham, not to Adam, but before time there was no genealogy, there was no major scene, there was no boyhood, there was no baptism, there was no temptation, there was no amount of transfiguration, there was no guessing domain in the book of John, there was nothing, no publicers, no demonics, there was no parables. The Gospel of John was written with the church in mind. I thank God Pastor Keith preaches a great deal out of the Gospel of John, amen. And so when we look and begin to realize as we said then we noted that every chapter in the book of John emphasizes the Hebrew alphabet. There's only 21 chapters so it leaves off it doesn't get all 22 because there's only 21 chapters but the first chapter everything about that chapter deals with the first letter of the Hebrew alphabet, the aff, the symbol of God as the creator and the master of the universe. When you get to chapter 2, when you get to chapter 3, every one of them follows the lead on the standing of the Hebrew alphabet of what it says in verse 34. Jesus the Messiah, the Christ, the witness of Andrew verses 35 to 41. And so remember what we said in Matthew chapter 3 verses 13 through 17. This is the record of John the Baptist of the synoptics of his baptism that he was baptized, amen. And Mark the same in Mark chapter 1 verses 9 through 11, the second of the synoptics of Mark where it talks about how Jesus was baptized. Then of the third synoptics of Luke chapter 3 verses 21 through 22 that it talks about where Jesus was baptized. These took place in the synoptics but notice the events that recorded the record of John the Baptist and his baptism that Jesus occurs not only in Matthew chapter 3, not only in Mark chapter 1 verses 9 through 11, not only that but in Luke 3 verses 21 and 22 that we see the testimony of Jesus baptized. Here the events take us back to that day because John baptizes Jesus in the Jordan River immediately after Jesus goes into the wilderness to be tempted by the devil. This is verse 35 but as we get on down it can jump back to verse 29, amen. If you go back into verse 29 you'll see that because even in verse 29 it said the next day and I thank God that Satan appears before Jesus with three Pacific temptations when Jesus resists these temptations Satan leaves him in time and so I'm glad in verse 29 if you go back to it it says the next day John says Jesus coming unto him and said behold the Lamb of God which taketh away the sin of the world. That's verse 29 the next day but when we start up in verse 35 in just a minute you're going to see the phrase again the next day and these are the events that transpired. I'm glad that we see again. Meanwhile back at the Jordan John speaks to the delegation from Jerusalem about his ministry and verses 19 through 28 that's already the 40th day. The 41st day was the 29th of the next day that you look and you'll see that all the way down to verse 34 that John had already publicly introduced Jesus and described the events that took place 31 days earlier at that baptism, amen. And so I'm glad that as we see this on the 42nd day we actually get to verse 35. John points out Jesus to two of his disciples and they follow him that day with him and later that day one of them they bring their brother to Jesus which is Andrew that brings Simon Peter and so as we get all the way to the end you get to the 43rd day that Philip and Nathaniel meet Jesus. Remember this because this is what's so unique about John because here we see the three temptations of Jesus by Satan. Stones in the bread in John chapter 6 verses 26 and verse 31 to make the bread in the wilderness jump from the temple and thirdly the kingdoms of the world in John chapter 6 verse 15 to take the kingdom by force. What a temptation that the devil tried upon him. The testing and trying that he went through just like the Paschal lamb went through for those 40 days. And again what did I say? It's the same as in verse 29 here you see in verse 35 and again the next day after John stood and two of his disciples the day after he made the previous statements Andrew and no doubt John who at that time they were disciples of John the Baptist. The two disciples were with John immediately they became disciples of the Lord they followed Jesus they may have been Andrew I know and I believe they were John and Andrew and so John did not give his own name nor did he refer to himself by name in the Gospel of John. His experience was very simple of he basically as many of us are that we come to Christ and so Andrew he stood where preaching was.

"The paperback version of my book, The Cryptopians, is out now. It contains a new afterword covering recent developments in crypto since 2021, when the book went to press. Plus, this version names the person I suspect to be the DAO hacker. In case you never got to read the book in hardback, or, like me, you like to read paperbacks or bedtime reading, order today. Check our newsletter and the show notes for the link. Or just search for it at any of your favorite bookstores. It's The Cryptopians—idealism, greed, lies, and the making of the first big cryptocurrency craze. Thanks for reading. Hi everyone, thanks for tuning in to Day 17 of the Unchained Recap of the ASBF trial. On Wednesday, the government and the defense made starkly contrasting closing arguments in the criminal trial of former FTX CEO Sam Pinkman -Fried. Assistant U .S. attorney Nicholas Rose used new evidence, timelines, and the defendant's own words to paint a picture of SPF as a liar who stole and whose secretive actions belied his public statements, which Rose asserted was an indication of his guilt. Defense attorney Mark Cohen focused more attention on discrediting the government and the cooperating witnesses, while emphasizing the high bar that must be reached for the jury to convict on each of the charges. In a decidedly less frenzied courthouse compared to the crowds that had appeared for Bankman -Fried's when it was dark. Deliberations are set to begin Thursday. Rose, who was tall and has a robust voice and a slightly patrician way of speaking, began his closing statement using clear, simple language. As he walked back and forth in front of the lectern, he faced the jury directly, with his voice ringing out loud and clear. At times he was impassioned, almost yelling some of his points in indignation. His main theme was lies, and SPF's knowledge that he was doing something he should not have been doing. A few minutes in, Rose said, quote, This is not about complicated issues of cryptocurrency. It's not about hedging. It's not about technical jargon. It's about deception. It's about lies. It's about stealing. It's about greed. After reminding the jury that the main question is whether SPF knew it was wrong to take the money, he said, quote, And the answer is clear. He took the money. He knew it was wrong. He did it anyway. Because he thought he was smarter and better and that he could figure his way out of it. He could walk his way out of it and talk his way out of it. And today, with you, that ends. He asked the jury to apply their common sense and look at the evidence. Rose then called out the contrast between SPF's direct testimony on Friday, which he called, quote, And showed Bankman Fried to have a perfect memory of his college years, Jane Street, and the early years of Alameda. At that time, Rose said, he was also able to explain 50 finance and technical terms. Then Rose noted that Bankman Fried became a different person under questioning by prosecutor Danielle Sassoon. Rose said, quote, But it happened over 140 times during his cross -examination. He lied about big things and he lied about little things. He asked for terms to be defined that he used freely on direct examination a day earlier. He approached every question like up was down and down was up. Rose then said that in order to believe SPF, a juror would have to ignore all the other evidence, such as the testimony of all his deputies, the flow of money, and the documents and secret spreadsheets. Quote, You would have to believe that the defendant, who graduated from MIT, who ran two billion dollar companies, and who was testifying before Congress, was actually clueless and he had no idea what was happening at his own company and he had no idea what he was doing wrong.

A highlight from M.W.A.E.P.

"Hello there, Dennis Prager with Julie Hartman. Dennis and Julie. Best time of the week. That was sweet. That's true. I love it too. Isn't that something? Okay, we won't wax about our enjoyment of what we do together. It can start grating on people. And for some it has. And we know, we're aware. Well, for those of you who don't know, this has actually preoccupied me. So very recently, and I'm sure all of you, certainly in the United States, are aware of the once in 80 something years, in other words, not since 1939 was there a tropical storm in Southern California or maybe California. We don't get that. I mean, Florida gets it. The East Coast gets it. Other places. So people, namely the National Weather Service, the state of California, the county of Los Angeles, it was like COVID. Schools were shut down. Government offices were shut down. People were warned, constantly stay home unless it is an emergency. This is life -threatening. I have a picture of the notice on my phone. Well, I attended a wedding that weekend. The warnings were for Sunday night. That Sunday night, I was to attend a wedding, which I did. The groom told me, and to his great credit, he was not engaged in self -pity. He just noted 40 people. And I would say the entire number of people there was 100. So there would have been 140. 40 didn't come. Because of this hurricane. Right. So now what everybody listening and watching needs to understand is Sunday night, it rained in Southern California. That's all it did. There were no winds. Not lightning from my part of town. That's an interesting point. Right. And regularly in Southern California, there are heavier rainstorms. It was just raining. That was the entirety. Now, there were parts outside of LA County where people were knee -deep in water. That's also very common. When there's a heavy rain, there's some flooding. It's part of life. So I was thinking, oh, I was very angry at the 40 people who didn't come to their wedding. It's so sad for the bride and groom. I mean, God bless them for enjoying their day. Even if zero people show up, you're getting married. It's a sacred, beautiful thing. But that must have been difficult for them. I would be sad and upset if 40 people, a large percentage, didn't show up. I got to tell you, I would pay any one of them money, good money, to come on my show and explain why they didn't go to the wedding. Well, in fairness to some, maybe they were flying and their flights were canceled or something. But do you think it was primarily local? No, no, no. They were in LA. No, no, no. And some had already arrived a day earlier. Nobody flew in that day. And the flights were not canceled. There was no reason to cancel a flight. Nothing happened. That's true. I actually was going to visit my sister on Sunday. She lives near LAX and I was watching planes take off and land in the rain. Flights were resuming. Resuming is not even the right word. They were going on. Resuming is fine. But they were never paused. Oh yeah, that's correct. So it's not the correct word. Okay. I was trying to bail you out. I know. Thank you. I appreciate it. I know you do. They closed the schools. I know. That's absurd. Truly absurd. How many parents won't complain? Well, you said on your radio show 1%. I would agree, but I actually think a lot more would write emails if they didn't think that they or their children would be penalized for doing so. I think that a lot of parents would fear that they would be labeled as climate change deniers, complainers, not trusting of the government and its supreme wisdom and authority. These parents would be seen as being hard on teachers who may not have access to transportation to get to schools. I mean, that's honestly what I think would prevent the parent more than anything else from sending an email to the school. And that's a whole problem unto its own. Yes, that is. So my very, very dark conclusion is one I wrote about. I actually read it on my radio show. You read my book, Think a Second Time, my book of essays? Of course, yes. I've read all your books. Yeah, you did. Okay. Except Deuteronomy. Except Deuteronomy. Yeah, I haven't read that yet. So I have an essay in there. I mean, I'm very proud of this fact because I wrote this in the late 1990s, a long time ago. And I wrote an essay about an experience I had. And in a nutshell, I was to give a speech in Cherry Hill, New Jersey, which is a suburb of Philadelphia. And so I arrived the day before in New York City, stayed overnight at a hotel in Manhattan, had a rental car. All night and when I woke up, do not drive blizzard storm conditions unless it is an emergency. Do not drive. I looked out the window of my hotel room. I remember this so vividly. And it looked to me like there was about one inch of snow on the ground. So I remember thinking, because I still had not yet realized what I now realize, people are so influenced by media that it is more influential than their own experience. Yes. This is critical. This is why it's so dark. So I thought, oh, well, I guess it's in New Jersey. It's horrible. Of course, it was a stupid comment because how far is Manhattan from New Jersey? You know, one of the tunnels or the George Washington Bridge. So I left three hours early and I got there three hours early. There was no traffic. Everybody listened to the radio and TV. And that awakened me to the ease with which people can be brainwashed. You are experiencing the opposite of what we're saying and you believe us. Well, that's the comment that I made. I remember on Dennis and Julie while I was still in college. I one remember day walking in Harvard Yard and this hit me like a lightning bolt, a real one, not a government fake one that may or may not have occurred during a fake hurricane. Anyway, I remember walking in the yard and going, what people are fighting against, what occupies so much of their time, the money that goes to grants and research projects and theses at this university doesn't exist. I mean, not that I shouldn't say doesn't exist, obviously. Small amounts of racism in the United States exist. Climate change does exist. Is it the existential threat? But think about that. This whole complex of thought and money and energy and time and it is given to these boogeymen that aren't real. The average student at the American college or university who says that they are fighting against racism has never seen it before a day in their lives. Isn't that amazing? And so you're right. People can be brainwashed so easily against what they see, against what they see or I mean, in the case of racism, don't see racism is totally rampant. I've never seen it. Wouldn't you think if the United States were as systemically racist a place as the left makes it out to be, don't you think we would have met one racist in our lifetime? I have never met a racist in my entire life. Literally not one. Well, I've lived a lot longer than you. The only one I knew was my grandfather. I know you told that on the air. Which was somewhat of a joke. Right. Because he treated, you said you treated black people beautifully. I have never in my life, not only have I never met a racist, I've never even like seen, I've never seen a neo -Nazi holding up a Nazi flag on the street. I've never, I've never even, I can't name one. It's absurd. Well, tell everybody what you pointed out to me. It's brilliant. I think we said this last week, but it's worth repeating. So when I worked for Dennis one summer, one of the things that I helped him out with was going through his massive volume of mail on email and flagging the most important things. And in all of my days and hours spent going through your mail, which by the way was riveting, it could be a show onto its own to talk about the messages you get. I never saw a singular racist email. That is amazing because as I think I said last week, you're a public figure. Forget that you're a conservative public figure.

Well, folks, I want to start off by talking about Hong Kong's big push towards crypto, opening up their doors and their gates, enabling a lot of financing and they have regulations now. And we know Hong Kong is under China's control. So this is really China's chess move here against the United States. China sees the United States is failing when it comes to crypto regulations and all the craziness that's going on here with the SEC and Gary Ganser. And they're doing a 180 from what they did years ago. Years ago, they banned crypto trading, they banned Bitcoin mining, now they're opening up their doors and they're doing it through Hong Kong, one of the major financial hubs in the world. And here's a quote from Bloomberg, Hong Kong has opened up to mass market trading of Bitcoin, part of the city's push to become a global hub. So we are in a crypto arms race, if you want to call it here, folks, and I've said it many times, any country that bans crypto, they are writing their economic death sentence because this is going to be a big part of the economy, not the only part, but obviously a big part of it. Blockchain and crypto will be powering a lot of things, AI and all these other things are going to be a part of it, of course, but everything will be running on the blockchain. So you have to embrace this Web3 technology. And here, Blockworks, they reported on this as well. They released an article, here's the title, why Hong Kong could be crypto's next center of gravity. A number of industry participants are eyeing the development of Hong Kong's crypto regulatory initiatives. So this is part of why I'm still bullish on crypto, despite the headwinds we're facing here in the United States, because crypto is not specific to the US, right? There's trading happening outside of the United States. There are people investing in crypto. There's a lot of capital and funds and a lot of building happening in UAE and Asian markets and much more. We saw the UK and the EU have passed crypto regulations and China, if I'm not mistaken, I think they're the second largest economy and I could be wrong there, but they're in the top five at least. They've got a lot of capital. There's a lot of funds there, folks, and they're looking to attract as much business. I think we saw some of the folks in Hong Kong, some of the financial regulators were even saying, hey, Coinbase and some of you companies are facing problems here in the United States, come set up shop in Hong Kong. So it's amazing what's happening and the United States better get its act together because this thing is moving fast around the world. Now let's move ahead. Speaking of the SEC and scumbag regulator, Gary Gensler, folks, today we got a whole plethora releases of of FOIA requests from the SEC showing the larger scale conflicts of interest with Bill Hinman, Jay Clayton, and the Ethereum folks. We all know that Bill Hinman gave the Ethereum free pass speech. We know he was being paid by Simpson Thatcher, which was part of the Ethereum Alliance, clear conflict of interest. He ignored the ethics office, the SEC ethics office warnings that this is wrong. You're not supposed to be doing it. It's in fact criminal. And we know chairman at the time, Jay Clayton, rubber stamped the entire thing. He knew what was going on. So it's funny that we get this massive dump of further evidence after the ripple ruling. I'm telling you, Gary Gensler is not happy today. And in fact, they didn't want this to come out before. And it had, it took empire oversight, the nonprofit, a whistleblower organization to sue the SEC to get this. They have to sue folks to get this information. So here's what they tweeted out. The SEC has now turned over 324 pages of new documents in response to our crypto conflicts for your requests. The latest batch of documents follows a may foil lawsuit brought by empire oversight in the district of Columbia. Joseph Lubin and consensus played a more central role than previously known in then SEC director of corporate finance, William Hinman that's bill him and controversial June 14th, 2018 crypto speech Lubin listened to this folks, apparently also apparently brought Hinman and Ethereum creator, Vitalik Buterin together as the speech was drafted. Remember some of you who follow me on Twitter, I was calling out Vitalik saying, you are a hypocrite, sir. I respect you as a coder and you know what you built with Ethereum, but as a person, you're a piece of shit because you are trashing XRP holders, seeing a whole bunch of nonsense while you are doing some backroom deals with the corrupt SEC. Now empire oversight, the tweets continue here to set investors and attorneys closely associated with Ethereum were prominent on the list of a March 28, 2018 meeting on a crypto safe harbor proposal. On August 22nd, 2019 email show Hinman met with Simpson thatcher partner Chris Lynn while Lynn was representing Canaan, a crypto mining client on its IPO. Now Canaan was not only mining Bitcoin, they were mining Ethereum at a time because the Ethereum was proof of work. It was using the proof of work consensus back then before it went to proof of stake. So that's an important note. Finally they said here, SEC ethics office had repeatedly worn Hinman against such meetings since he was receiving millions of dollars in payments and since in Thatcher while at the SEC, but of course, Hinman, uh, you know, he ignored those warnings and of course he's not being held accountable. And both him and Jay Clayton went to go work in the crypto industry. Funny how that worked out, uh, here, John Deaton's crypto law. They said the following with regards to the release in the latest release of the SEC emails by empire oversight, an email from an SEC staffer proves that Hinman met with Simpson thatcher partner Chris Lynn while Lynn was representing a crypto mining company before Hinman's division, uh, for an IPO. Three days earlier, Hinman's division corresponded with Canaan and copied Lynn regarding the Simpson thatcher client's draft F1 statement. Hinman had been explicitly warned by the ethics office 19 months earlier. He had a bar under the criminal finance conflict with Simpson against any meetings with that firm. Um, folks, we have to keep exposing this because, uh, folks, we got to keep the, these people accountable and I highly recommend you go follow empower oversight and Jason Foster, who's the president. Once again, they're nonprofit. You can support them, but at least go give a like in a tweet, right? Even if you're not making a donation, get the information out there because I'm telling you Gary Gensler, Hinman, and these guys don't want this information out there, but we're going to hold them accountable. They work for the people, right? They were at the sec, they're there to serve the people. So even Jason Foster said, what is the secs office of inspector general doing about this? We have another pending foyer seeking all sec communications about our may, 2022 referral. Jason's absolutely right. What are they going to do? So this is where we got to contact our representatives, folks, contact Tom Emmer, all these folks, right? Who are in the house financial committee services, and I'm going to do the same thing.

"The lengthy capital riot trial of 5 members of the Proud Boys is nearing its end. A federal jury in Washington, D.C. is set to hear closing arguments in the trial of Enrique tarrio and four other leaders of the far right extremist group the Proud Boys. They face seditious conspiracy and other charges from the investigation into the attack at the U.S. capitol on January 6th, 2021. Defense attorneys in some prosecution witnesses say there was no plan to attack the capitol, and that defendants got caught up in the craziness, the Justice Department argues, the men plotted to use force to keep then president Donald Trump in power and were expecting a Civil War, jurors have heard 50 days of testimony by more than three dozen people and considered a trove of encrypted chat messages and social media posts detailing the group's anger over claims of a stolen election. Tarrio is accused of orchestrating the assault, although he was not in Washington on January 6th, he'd been charged two days earlier with burning a church's Black Lives Matter banner during an earlier march. Pope leads Holy Thursday service in Vatican basilica

"Pipe Francis has led the first of two major holy Thursday ceremonies as part of his challenging Haiti weak appointments, which come days after he was released from hospital. Despite being released just 5 days earlier from hospital for bronchitis, the Pope's voice sounded strong as he read a long homily during a mass in St. Peter's Basilica. As part of his schedule, the pontiff will take part in a foot washing ritual at a juvenile prison in Rome, the same location he famously washed the feet of prisoners shortly after being elected Pope in 2013, upon his release from hospital the Vatican confirmed the pontiff would carry out the complete holy week schedule. His appointments include the good Friday procession at Rome's coliseum and Easter Sunday mass in Saint Peter's square. I am Karen Chammas

"Schwartzman joins us so Dano, the date for the beginning of the World Cup has been changed by one day. Yes, it has as the upcoming World Cup in Qatar will be now starting a day earlier than planned as guitar will play Ecuador on Sunday, November 20th as a custom has always been since 2006 for the host country to play in the opening match. The emir of Qatar wants to have a huge fireworks display as part of the opening of the tournament, which would not have been as dramatic in the afternoon of November 21st, then obviously the evening of the 20th. 2021 masters winner Hideki matsuyama has withdrawn from this week's FedEx saint Jude championship, the first of the three FedExCup playoff tournaments due to a neck injury. Matsuyama who is 11th in FedExCup points still should be able to advance the BMW championship and the season ending tour championship over the next few weeks. "Is Bloomberg radio This is Bloomberg daybreak Europe The acceleration of growth in Europe could be a bit slow Not that there is a recession that there could be a bit of a slowdown There must be nowhere for Putin to fund the appalling war We want to see as many trade deals done as possible in order to boost business Both Poland and Bulgaria are now receiving gas from their EU neighbors And this shows first of all the men's solidarity among us Bloomberg daybreak Europe On Bloomberg radio On a very good morning from London Caroline heparin And I'm Stephen carrier listening to daybreak Europe live on London DAB digital radio So global market jitters really today after we saw a rally post the fed it was followed by a big slump across stocks and bonds and cryptocurrencies and lots of market action Really only the dollar managed to survive the sell off Yeah we're talking about $1.3 trillion being wiped off U.S. stocks yesterday hold on to your breakfast It's being described as the great puking I like that you've got that on there I wasn't quite sure how I could work that word in But yeah that is what it's been called exactly Is it day two blues over the fed We had that big rally of course the day before then the slump yesterday as well as we were building unpacking that with some of our guests here today Also the UK local elections Caroline another big story for us here in the UK Some losses for the conservatives notably in London two key boroughs that have fallen to labor hands one's worth was in Tory hands excuse me One's worth was 44 years controlled by the conservatives at plenty to come on that as well Yeah absolutely Let's give you then a market check of where we are in terms of the data So we see stocks continuing the Wall Street's theme a big slide over in Asia the hang seng drops three and a half percent this morning CSI 300 down by 2.3% You have also had another edict from Beijing This time around PCs personal computers that government officials and companies have to switch from foreign made to domestic made over the next couple of years So that's a significant story and a Bloomberg scoop for you In terms of what happened yesterday S&P 500 slumping 3.6% just a day after notching up the biggest rally in two years futures this morning are down but only by about a tenth of 1% for the S&P 500 A European stocks that closed earlier of course didn't see such big losses down by about 7 tenths of 1% yesterday Futures though in Europe down two tenths on the U.S. stocks 50 futures As for bond markets we're firmly above the 3% handle now on ten year yield trading at three spot zero 6 up by two basis points We've had ECB comments out so June and July now seem to be in play for rate rises possibly by the ECB at least according to holtzman and wren and we get the U.S. jobs report out today So we look to that the Bloomberg dollar spot index is up by a quarter of 1% So that's a look at the numbers Steven Yeah and that more on the market side let's bring in our markets live editor Heather Burke Heather we're just hearing the numbers there from Carolina roller coaster and global markets over the past two days what's going on In thirsty was ugly It was an about face from the games we in stocks we saw after the fed The markets basically told us that traders don't think the fed can flight inflation at multi decade highs We need a tightening of financial conditions The biggest thing that stood out for me was the sell off in the NASDAQ It dropped 5.1% the most in September 2020 98% of its members were down or seeing some of that feed over today with Chinese stocks down We may see some carry over into the European day but definitely we saw 1.3 trillion of market value wiped off of the S&P yesterday And there's definitely more jitters in stocks to come We're down or poised for the first year for the S&P 500 and bonds to both balls since 1994 Yeah absolutely Meanwhile at lunchtime today of course we get the U.S. employment report for April is that going to provide any consolation Heather Depends the problem is that it could show that rising wage costs are adding to the inflationary pressures that have been causing this jittery sentiment Again strength in the jobs market could just cause rates to surge again and further tighten financial conditions On the other hand if you see cracks in the jobs market is that sufficient enough to solve inflation Right now we've got the yield curve steepening which is telling you that traders think the fed is not doing enough The current level of yield sees a further three fed hikes of 50 basis points through September Is that enough the markets aren't sure yet Okay Heather Burke market side editor Thank you very much for that update for real-time market commentary and analysis You can check out markets live That's ML IV on your Bloomberg terminal Okay yeah really interesting stuff then on the market outlook let's get to our top stories now Here's Bloomberg's Lee and Gary's good morning yeah Caroline good morning and thank you and we start with the Bank of England which is forecasting a deep economic shock as the consequence of getting inflation under control The bank increased the base rate by a quarter point to 1% as expected It's fourth straight rise The Central Bank sees inflation hitting double digits in October and GDP shrinking in 2023 Let's hear from the Bank of England governor Andrew Bailey We think that a lot of the work in terms of the cure is going to be done by the fact that we are experiencing a historically large shock to real incomes in this country coming from outside the country So it's in terms of trade shock in that sense import prices are rising That's predominantly energy food and some cool goods Meanwhile the central banks gloomy forecast sent the pound to the lowest level against the dollar in almost two years yesterday Meanwhile ECB governing council member Robert holtzman says a rate hike will be discussed and probably agreed at the bank's June meeting The Austrian Central Bank chief is the most hawkish member of the ECB's rate setting body and has repeatedly called for the institution to start normalizing policy board member Fabio Panetta however warns the region's economy is de facto stagnating Now over in the yes U.S. today the government issues April's employment report and economists are forecasting a respectable gain just shy of 400,000 Bloomberg giudice reports So far this year America's economy has added almost 1.7 million jobs and Bloomberg economics says there's still room to run That's because the size of the U.S. labor force is below pre-pandemic levels Job openings as of March rose to a record 11.5 million unemployment claims meantime are running near half century lows Vinny del giudice Bloomberg daybreak Euron And finally labor Oz celebrating some big successes in the local elections including winning control of Westminster council now that is for the first time ever Keir Starmer's party is also wrestled wandsworth away from the Tories for the first time in 44 years and are also now controls three others London mayor Sadiq Khan he was at the count in wandsworth explains what he thinks are the main reasons for these results take a listen We.

"This is Bloomberg daybreak Europe I don't think we're at the peak yet We haven't backed off in the market and sort of seen any proper capitulation yet After two months of work I can say Germany is not against an oil band on Russia The elements and the platforms of growth are really working Heavy weapons tanks airplanes digging deep in our inventories ramping up production We need to do all of this Bloomberg daybreak Europe on Bloomberg radio The very good morning from London I'm Caroline Hepburn welcome to Bloomberg daybreak a Europe joining me for this hour as my new co host on radio is Stephen Carroll Stephen welcome to the team here in London Thank you very much Caroline Good morning everyone I picked a good day I think to start We've got 5 race decisions expected in Europe Today of course the Bank of England the big one that we're watching for you expecting a quarter point rate hike on the table but what's in store for that almost 850 billion pound balance sheet Yep absolutely It is a busy day and we've got a packed program We're going to talk Bank of England yes Also the fed of course hiking 50 basis points and on oil The decision from Europe to phase out Russian oil imports and the OPEC plus meeting to think about Bloomberg Steven stapp ski will be with us in just a moment So great to have Stephen on board Let's go to the market then and give you a few facts and figures then In terms of the futures we're up by 2.3% now for European stock futures So following the rally that we saw on Wall Street yesterday I mean the S&P now that Dow Jones all rose roughly 3% big big post fed gains the biggest in fact in a decade in terms of U.S. treasuries though no cash trading in Asia because Japan is closed but yesterday we saw two year yields rally dollar weakness although that reverses a little bit this morning Bloomberg dollar spot index currently up by a tenth of 1% And yes you did mention that there are 5 rate decisions in all We've counted Bank of England at noon but then you get hungry Norway the Czech Republic and Poland also have rate decisions this morning All of this in the face of the Ukraine war at dampening down European growth of course As for those oil prices were up 8 tenths of 1% of Brentford now trading at a $111 the barrel at gold has risen what some 1% amid the drop in yield the cooling and policy tightening expectations coming down So actually gold at the moment up by yeah close to 1% $1899 a Toyota I think the power is going to be the one to watch when it comes to the Bank of England We drop on cable 6 tenths of 1% this morning Stephen Plenty of action out there as well Let's bring in our markets live editor Heather Burke for more on all of this header We just hearing that from car and the S&P 500 jumping by almost 3% on Monday after that fed decision what's been the rest of the reaction out there to the latest from Jerome Powell Yeah so the key thing is Jerome Powell pushed back on a 75 basis point hike So something they're not actively considering And that brought relief across markets European features are also rallying this morning kind of a catch up U.S. features are a little change but as you said we saw that huge move So what we saw is also we saw boosting gold and credit risk ease globally The cost of protect investment grade debt against default fell We also saw a drop in bond yields So traders have moved firmly back now toward pricing half point increase for June And kind of and also we've seen some the dollar fell a little bit as you said it's steadier today Okay So the response to the fed I mean what do we think that we're going to get in terms of the Bank of England rate decision and then market reaction More hiking today So the markets expect that the Bank of England is going to hike rates for fourth straight meeting to 1% Britain faces soaring inflation We've seen soaring prices are expected to 2% off output Living standards of being eroded in the fastest pace in 66 years Traders are pricing at a 125 basis points of tightening by the September decision We're also expecting today for the BOE to kind of give details on how it tends to take steps toward unwinding more than a decade of Bond purchase Okay thank you Heather Burke our markets live editor and for real time market commentary and analysis you can check out markets live That's ML Ivy on your Bloomberg terminal Caroline we're just going to go next to some breaking news that we've got coming across the terminal from shell the oil company reporting its first quarter adjusted profit at $9.13 billion That's a beat the estimate was 8.2 billion that the relations results from Shell dividend per share 25 cents as well Also we get march factory orders for Germany a drop of 4.7% although that's less than the estimated drop 1.1% and so that a bit of eco data Next the high street retailer here first quarter retail sales up Wow 285% of big jump for next but also I just want to update you in terms of the bond markets because just starting trading We've got those U.S. ten year yields now two 94 So we're watching those So still actually below 3% post the fed Right that's a look then at the markets and all the breaking news this morning let's get to our top stories history makes the anger and good morning Caroline good morning and thank you so the Federal Reserve delivered its biggest rate hike in more than two decades and chair J pal says two more are queued up for the next two policy meetings but it was his comments on the 75 basis point hike that really moved markets 75 basis point in an increase is not something the committee is actively considering Assuming that economic and financial conditions evolve in ways that are consistent with our expectations There's a broad sense in the committee that additional 50 basis increases should be on 50 basis points should be on the table for the next couple of meetings As the U.S. Central Bank deployed its most powerful policy tightening in decades pal also assured Americans that policymakers will do what it takes to curb a surging inflation Now JPMorgan CEO thinks the fed should have moved faster in raising interest rates in an interview with Bloomberg television Jamie Dimon said the U.S. economy is very strong and he sees a one third chance of the fed's actions leading to a soft landing Business in very good shape and the fed is going to have to raise rates and reverse Q 8 And if they can they're going to try to slow down the economy enough 8% starts to come down over time And I wish them the best We're a little late but remember two years ago we had 15% unemployment and no vaccine So I think people should take a deep breath give them a chance And I think they get the sooner they move the better but he also added that he sees the same chance for a mild recession Now from one Central.

Meanwhile, President Biden will visit the crash sites tomorrow. Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas says they're still no specific, credible threats targeting the United States on the anniversary of 9 11. The greatest terrorism related threat to the homeland is the threat of domestic terrorism individuals who are prone to violence by reason of an ideology of hate. Secretary New Yorkers spoke on ABC s Good Morning America Today. Almost 3000 people were killed that day on 9 11. Hurricane Olaf has scraped across the southern tip of Mexico's Baja California peninsula and spun back into the Pacific, bringing heavy rain and strong winds to the twin resorts of Los Cabos. Meanwhile, the remnants of Tropical Storm Mindy Forced local authorities in and around Charleston, South Carolina, closed some roads and warned residents of possible dangers. Former Republican New Jersey Governor Chris Christie says the GOP needs to move on from the 2020 election as Republicans We need to free ourselves from the quick sand. Of endless grievances. Well, I wasn't necessarily a bad effort on Dallas is defense. No, not those great game. Look, I mean, is the league itself Well, the problem that the defensive players have how they hit The either the quarterback. This is what the NFL was. That's what they want. I mean, it used to be back in the day. The A running back or or wide out, says Hit me high. Don't hit me low because you're going to mess up my legs, and now it's the exact opposite. So and that's another reason why you're seeing a lot of, you know. Well, you don't have the end the grasp rule the way you used to have, but that's another story altogether. This is the rules the NFL wants to promote. You know these guys slinging touchdown home run Derby. I mean, the Dallas quarterback the first time down boom boom boom boom right down the field and speaking of which that Prescott looked pretty good he did after last year's injury around his ankles. He looked all right. So the league wants offense does the public one offense or would they like to see like 21 to 18? No, I I admit I do like to see great catches. I do like to see all of that a good blast. The lions are still doing it. The lions The last time I screwed over 18 points was what You know what? You know. Don't don't you have something to readers? "You know, you knew I knew what I wanted to get. It would've been nice if I knew it a couple days earlier a lot easier, and it would have been fewer people in line. But we got a lot to get into because the Rock Roll Hall of Fame inductions the nomination nominees next year, they'll be in inducted in May. And Yeah, the list is pretty unimpressive, but I have a theory on And and also there's a long list of bands that have not been noticed. And it's you know, it's like one of the clubs, right? Yeah. This What does it really mean? Well, Mike North who you'll hear? Hear on the odds, couple. Um, he's still boycotting because they still have not put Connie Stevenson Oh, that's his girl from way back when you know she was his rock back in the day. Yes, there is. There's older people. Yeah, she could be here for the longest time. Chicago wasn't in which you know. Is that true? That took way too long? Yes, Deep purple took way too. And I mean there there are in the list that I will give you a people that have not been recognized yet. To me is just That's why I think it's all a big bunch of B s. It is. It's just It's a nice thing to have. And if I was actually went there last June during covert, I went out there right after they had re opened and it was awesome. If you've never been in the rock roll, baby scream. It is God took my daughter to check out of college in Cleveland. So we went there and you know she's not. She's more into pop and But she knows all that stuff. She was born way. I think she enjoyed it. So yes, it's quite the experience. But I went way pre Cove it But unlike the Football Hall of Fame and Baseball Hall of Fame That's when you know you've really achieved something in your career. I don't think musicians generally look at the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame because there's so much politics sure, And it's so watered down because some of the artist is like, okay by rock and roll standards. Really, I know so I mean, every year we go through should just be the Music Hall of Fame. That really should be, then educate me. Look, I know who votes for the baseball who votes kind of like, how do like who's the Voting Committee for the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame? It is a stuff. May I? No, I don't. But I'll look deeper into but it's the board of directors. I don't think that there are like writers for it. It's just like no, No, I don't think it should be should be critics. See I and I've got another thing that I never gotten it. Well, see, That's the thing Critics are paid to be contrarian. So I mean, you know, I don't know. I e think it's a board of directors. They're assembled and I don't know where you may as well let the baseball uh the guys you know, the baseball writers in America should vote for the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. Why not? Yeah, like in the rock writers should vote for the Baseball Hall of Fame. And maybe Dick Allen would have gotten in And some other people. 3123323776. We will talk. Black action will talk. JJ Watt, who's in town had a date night last night with his wife. He posted pictures of it on Twitter. Baseball, another picture signs, not with white sacks of the Cubs. I'm trying to figure out why the White Sox have decided to go with Ronaldo Lopez and Carlos Rodin instead of one of these many pictures that I've signed she deals to with other teams. We'll talk about that in Leicester area and all that stuff. George Hoffman, old friend of mine is funny. You and I'm gonna do this when he comes on, But I tweeted to you and Eric. I said, Can we get your job fanatic said it actually texted. You said, you just goes to prove what you're about to say you said you said, Is he a friend? Or is he just old like you? And I just said his only friend. Yeah, he's old like me. Hey, By the way, the nominating committee is a bunch of record label exact sense of musicians. It's a nominating committee, okay? So, Yeah. So you know how you get on it right? Because it's Valentine's Day. There were two things we need. I've been talking about this one. But yesterday I saw it on the news. I saw it on there's a couple times this week. Single people apparently spend an average of $162 for Valentine's Day married couples. $243. And if you're married beyond 10 years, it's even more which makes no sense to me. I would think if you're married even longer than 10 years, it eight starts to choose Where would decrease? Yeah, Here's here's a rose, You know, Happy Valentine Holiday that you work hard, early on, And then it just kind of dissipates. Now my wife and I are like we both agreed. Hey, we'll just hang out today and everything because we don't We don't have to know knots, but it's more than its more than sweetest day. Sweetest day is definitely your Hallmark holiday that It is a Hallmark holiday by the Times Day. I think it's a little different. It's got something that's the same Valentine and there's some religious stuff in their outer. Yeah, so it's a little bit different. So we talked Eric and I were here and Xander walks in. And we said Hey, do you have a favorite rock? Calm and worry your additional thoughts? It's like From what I know that term. Oh, yeah, right. Right. Right. And then and then you guys play. Played a little sound snippet of one and we'll get to that. And I had a very, very specific reaction. You didn't guess I guess I I kind of like him. You like him more than me, Which is really weird. You know really weird. Maybe I e. I love watching movies with my wife before now, my girlfriend now more than you, I guess I guess I haven't have to look at a list to say OK, that was okay. Nothing jumps out at me. Well, we put out a list Andare Twitter poll. Don't get him all screwed up. You know, Twitter twitch that TV text subtext. Twenties. Yeah, they're always tea. So on Twitter You can go to at ESPN 1000. What's your favorite Rahm counter? We picked four and it was not easy, Eric. It wasn't easy coming up with these four..

George Hoffman Carlos Rodin Eric JJ Watt White Sox Dick Allen Connie Stevenson Ronaldo Lopez $243 Cleveland May Leicester 3123323776 yesterday $162 today Mike North this week America next year
