"And you know what, I don't care, listen, I don't care if you wanna put on a wig after you shave your head, okay? And most of them elected to do that. And if you look at the videos, you can see very clearly they're all wearing wigs. But Clavin says, you know what, I don't care. What do I care? Like I've been married a million years, like I'll shave my head. And he's elected, and it's astonishing, but it's the first time in 22 years that he's not wearing the wig that most people would have elected to wear. And I just wanna say, how about a round of applause? Because that's a big deal. I mean, to show up. I'm just saying to show up clean shaven like that takes a lot of moxie, and it's never happened before. I just wanna say kudos to you. All right, so it's a crisp fall day in New York, right? Pretty good. And I wanna recognize there's some special guests here. There are many special guests here, but is Dick Morris in the crowd? Where did he go? Dick Morris is here. This guy is here. It's, I don't want you to confuse him with the Dick Morris, okay, but his name's Dick Morris. We've got a number of special people here. I know that there's a group from Columbia University. Is that, oh, they're there. They're there, welcome. Welcome. Is that still in the Ivy League, or how you doing? You're still hanging in there? You're still hanging in. It's really wonderful to see you here. A couple of club rules before I introduce the guests. This is an old club, and they always ask me to say this stuff. No, this is for the common rooms, in case you're making your way out of here. No leapfrog, okay? I know we got a lot of big leapfrog aficionados in the group. Just wait till you get home. No Indian leg wrestling and no slap fights. Always in the VIP reception. These people, they spend a couple extra bucks, they think they can do what they want. So we had some nasty stuff happen in the VIP reception, and we're gonna let it go this time, but normally we wouldn't let it go. So I just want you to know that. And thank you, in advance, for no slap fighting. Part of the reason we do Socrates in the City is, it seems very pointed to me at this time, that we like to ask the big questions, because I have this crazy idea that there are some good answers to the big questions, that it's not bleak and hopeless, and we need to provide a forum where we can talk about that kind of stuff. And I think that in the crazy times in which we live, a little hope wouldn't be a bad thing. That could just be me. But I think having a little hope, a little understanding, that yeah, maybe we have reason to hope. So tonight, Andrew and I will be talking about that a little bit. Now, in case you don't know anything about Andrew Klavan, he's the bald guy here. And Andrew is one of these people, he's tough to sum up. He has something called the Andrew Klavan Show at the Daily Wire podcast, which is, some of you are very familiar with that. But he's most known as an author, as a writer. And I have to say, it's very rare that I have someone here who is a writer known for, how do I put this, for his writing, in the sense that a lot of people have a lot of great ideas and they put it into a book. But to be a great writer and accomplish a literary writer, we had Mark Helprin here a few years ago, who is just at the top of the top, just an amazingly gifted literary writer. I always aspire to that in my books. But Andrew really is that. He, in the book we're gonna be talking about tonight, The Truth and Beauty, he writes so beautifully that it's not just the ideas that are captivating, but it's the writing itself. And I wanna say that because, again, as somebody who aspires to that, it's not easy to do. And he does it very well. Now, I have never been a reader of mystery books or thrillers. But if you are, you're familiar with the Edgar Awards. Anybody here hear of the Edgar Awards? Some of you, they're named, I think, I think they're named after Joan Rivers' husband was Edgar.

"Eliminate a car payment for a while, hey, why not just keep driving that old car as long as it's working? Right, absolutely. And on the automaker side too, we remember the supply chain issues that a lot of automakers went through kind of boosting costs automakers wanted to focus on sort of these more expensive, larger, luxury, high margin vehicles, and now as we're coming out of the pandemic and some of the supply chain shortages have eased, I want to makers have found that they're making a lot of money on those vehicles as well. So maybe the costs aren't coming down as quickly as we anticipated. So a lot of different factors kind of contributing to the sort of general automotive landscape right now in terms of expense. But yeah, certainly kind of tough time to be in the market for a new car. I mean, if you want to look at it as glass half full, right? On one hand, this is almost a testament to how well cars are being made these days compared to the past. There were times when you would only be half joking when you said, hey, I paid off my car or the warranties run out and now it's falling apart. Sure. And it's also worth considering that it's kind of talking to people in the automotive press at the moment. It's hard to find someone who has test driven a new vehicle that is genuinely bad. Bad being defined as won't get you from point a to point B and that was not always the case. Now, of course, we can argue back and forth about sort of long-term quality issues and just preferences in terms of material quality in those sorts of things. But in the core functionality of a car, it is pretty hard to find one that will not get you to your destination. But of course, as we've been talking about, it will cost you. And then there's the challenge for automakers, though, right? They might be selling fewer vehicles as a result as people are keeping more of these cars. That's less revenue for them. Yes, but the other hand is that the service industry, the automotive repair industry is actually kind of anxiously anticipating this or at least kind of excited about this news because of course keeping older cars on the road does require more maintenance does require more repairs. So you can imagine those garages around your hometown probably hearing this news and thinking, oh, I could make a couple extra bucks from this. ABC's Mike to busky with us on the northwest news line. "I came to the conclusion that all the best investors were always ahead of the curve as far as they put their money where the market was going to go first. Or not first, but eventually it was going to go. Like Amazon, Apple, right? Now, the problem was before I came across Bitcoin, I was looking at all these different investment opportunities. And I came to the conclusion that they were all the exact same. Everything was the exact same. There was nothing special about anything, the only special investment opportunities you could ever get as an American citizen would be something that's behind the accredited investor wall. Because by the time those investments actually get to the public markets, all the values have been captured. So the average American can not actually generate wealth really in any of those regards. Unless you're going to just capture maybe three to 8% per year, nobody in the middle class can really afford to do that unless you're willing to sacrifice ten to 15 years of your life, which if you're going to do that, why what are we even doing? Let's talk about something that's more that's more real and more impactful to the larger population. And that's where Bitcoin comes in. Now, you take Bitcoin and you allow for these guys to be able to save a little bit acquire accumulate resources. Accumulate enough resources to the point where they can start taking some risks and actually try and do something that they value with their day to today life, which could mean starting up your own business or saving up enough to go take on an apprenticeship or something like that because another thing that a lot of people don't know about the trades I grew up in the pipe fitters trade. Sometimes you have to sit on the bench and wait for an opportunity and a partnership school. Like you don't just apply and get in. There's slots that have to be filled. So when it comes to trying to line up your life like this to the point where you're not working some dead end, bullshit job and just beating your head against the wall to earn a couple extra bucks. Like that's not good for the soul and that's not good for your testosterone levels. It's not just that good in general.

"Since the start of the Russian invasion. Live from the Bloomberg interactive broker studios this is global news 24 hours a day on air and on Bloomberg quicktake. Powered by more than 2700 journalists and analysts to more than a 120 countries. Michael Barr, this is Bloomberg, Paul Gritty. All right, Michael Barr, rich Truman has left us so we can talk Yankee baseball. That's three in a row for the Yankees. We can't oversell that. Well, in a row. Two against the mets. So you swept that series. That's a good thing. And Aaron judge, man, he's like, you know, like super dude. So what do you do to keep them? I mean, I mean, you have to just give them whatever he wants, right? Hey, I'll go wash his car. Every day. Yes. Exactly. Or you want to stay, I'm a tigers fan, but if you want to stay here Aaron judge, you stay here. Why wouldn't he want to stay? I mean, you can be in literally an all time great Yankee. Doesn't it have like huge value? Yeah, I can get a couple extra bucks if I go to San Francisco, but come on. I mean, his aftermarket, if you're a Yankee, great like a Derek Jeter green. And he'll go down just like that. And he is a great ambassador to the game. Every kid has got this Jersey on. I mean, if you're the Yankees, you're like, you know, I rolled the dice, I lost. Well, I mean, I don't know if they rolled the dice. They put a good offer out there before the season. But now he's in the driver's seat. He's going to get whatever he wants, whatever the market will allow. And if you Yankees, you just got to pay. I know all my fellow Tiger fans out there saying, Barr, you are dead to me. But it's true, Aaron judge is great. He's a great guy. Yeah, yeah. The off season is going to be very interesting to see where the Yankees do with Aaron judge. Michael Barr, thank you so much for your appreciate it. Not much going in the market here. I'm just going to say, I'm going to call it since Lisa Brown, which is not here. I'm going to call the S&P unched. That's what we should do back in the day. Unchanged, you know, that's what did back in the old days. Is that a technical term policy? No, we totally. If you're a trader, you know what I'm saying? Vincent garrell knows what I'm saying. Not much going on. Not much going on in the equity market. I would argue there is some kind of weirdness in the bond market. I mean, I'm seeing yields go up pretty significantly here. I mean, we got to two year 3.35%. Yeah, and the tenure. That's a yield. I can put some money in my savings account now. You can't. I'm kind of going back to some research from bespoke invest that really caught my eye. They said that every time you see the bond yield on the ten year, go past 3%, the stock market sells off. Yet here we are, three O 9 on the ten year yield, the stock market, it's unchanged, but

"Whole night. You know what I mean? Go back then, you don't have Instagram followers, you don't have Internet. So you have to guess in my famous or does anyone know what the fuck is going on? I'm just hoping they see the show. I'm hoping they're into this. We think it's fun in the building and then we leave. You just don't have no idea. And it was interesting when I was very first on the show, I would get like three pieces of mail, right? Your brother. Well, often from correctional facilities, you know what I mean? Yeah. And with the real stamp, which I thought was, oh, that's cool. And then I would look over at Dana's and I was like, you got no meal. Dana got a holy shit. So I guess I'm okay with three. And I said to do you remember Julian? Oh, yes. Yes. And I said to Julian, and I said, Julian, I don't understand it. Dana has no male. No male. And then he points over to these 5 boxes. He's 5. He goes, he doesn't fit in there. And it was all to know that. That's nice. For the female at home, right by the page does. It was Steve corn when I was there. All these square boxes in each other name on it, but they were unfortunately equally the same size. Yes. And then you'd see they sticking out. What Mike and I, when the movie hit, it got kind of, it definitely went surreal for us, right? Because we didn't really know what box office and just awards kept arriving in giant vats of mail. It was a sort of, I don't know, I don't know if we really comprehended it. No. It was too fast. To me, the only one that hit home was having immigrant parents and not having any hockey equipment except we would go to the skate exchange and you'd get like old timey skates that looked like, you know, soon, railways will be spanning the nations. You know what I mean? And then I'm on Saturday Night Live. We weren't making any money, but all of a sudden, a thing arrives, this big giant duffel bag from team Canada with team Canada skates with the logo stitched into the skates. Into the hockey pads into the gloves, the logo, team Canada, and I was like, oh cool. This is like unbelievable. And that's making it. I still have, I still have the gloves, 'cause you were a big hockey guy back then, I think. You had a lot of coats and stuff. That's kind of, you know, I would never do a military analogy, but it's a bonding thing in show business to be on that show with people because it's so Gritty. And then to have your first success with them. And the first time making a couple extra bucks, I remember you scrounging for quarters. To get a sandwich and stuff, you got to bring in a buck out and yeah. I had to borrow money off Lauren. The first half season. 5, ten, 15. Where was I? Started again. Did he pay you in Canadian money or what is that? Here's a bloomy. No, he said, how much do you need? I said $10,000. Wow. And he was like, he was like, what's your rent? And I was like, what? Because how much something like a $1000 a month or something? Yeah. And you're netting maybe 1000. No money. Like I had negative money, you know what I mean? I would be so fucking scared as Lorne for money. I probably would have. I talked to I talked to do you remember Audrey dickman? Yeah. And she said, well, she was like, do you have any friends that you can borrow from? I said, not really, no. He goes, almost it was like anything valuable. Did anyone else than warm? Basically. Can you donate blood? Yes. Do you have any shoes you could donate? Yes. Jim Henry. Jim. I had the same thing, but I went straight to Marcy Klein, because I found out she was Calvin Klein's daughter, so I said, well, she's got to have some money. So that was my, no, I'm kidding. But hi, Marcy,.

"Dot com slash sports as sgp. Cut your wireless bill to fifteen bucks a month. Mit mobile dot com slash sports s g. Get a couple. Extra bucks can use over at the mo- koby fort collins colorado two heavyweights me vanderbilt. Colorado state i don't know a ton about vanderbilt except that they're really bad at college football both teams of inner bill in colorado state loss to team although it seems like colorado state they lost to south dakota team. That's pretty solid from what i can tell vanderbilt. The last time they faced amount west team they were sixteen and a half point favorites and lost outright thirty four days. Unlv i just cannot understand why anyone would be betting vanderbilt. Colorado state minus six is a to me. It's easy money. What am i missing if anything. You're not missing anything because we are on the ramseyer looking east tennessee. State look for eighty five yards against east tennessee state. Colorado state's got better defense than east tennessee state. So i expect they're gonna make clark throw the ball and another thing is i mean that's a far trip as far trip to the fort collins. Look normally i like to fade. Stephen dials retire. Bandy plays actually look. I mean the last time the sec came to fort collins. Arkansas took a loss just a few seasons ago. I think they'll get it right and colorado state to roll. And i really think that rushing attack. Look at From last week adagio we know what his teams do. They run the ball. They take care of the rack normally poor special teams. Hopefully that doesn't burn them. But i just think there are much better team in a much. Better spot vandy still in new system clark new coach coach and i think losing twenty three two three even though you outgained The other team. But you lost the turnover battle three. Oh twenty three to three still matters. Worse how state on the other hand they also outgained south dakota state minus two in the turnover battle but south dakota state is a national championship contender at the fcs level. So we know that. Your fcs experts the jackrabbits right. Did i get about that. So unfortunately i hate to be on our side with you call in this situation but Yeah colorado's why would you hate to be. I'm only at sixty two percent picking every game. It's true it's sometimes you just have to see the stream and figure out its move because some of these teams are just fade at this point. Yeah and vanderbilt. Certain fits that build illinois heads charlottesville. Virginia virginia laying ten right now minus four hundred on the money line for the cavaliers. Fifty five is the total now. Little boy had that upset win against a brassica week. One last week to now they had the uva catching ten points can get get the illinois fighting the line. I ready to go for this game called me. Where are we at now not at is if you look at the example is an outlier if you look at the stats you saw nebraska was maybe it's maybe it was more about nebraska just blowing that game even though illinois was trying to give it to him i was on. Utsa last week was the better team begins. Illinois i'm sorry the roadrunners baby there you go but but look virginia yes. They're playing william and mary. Shut him out forty-three nothing. But what i liked about bronco mendenhall and why. I took virginia to win. The coastal is really brennan armstrong. After his first couple of games last year he struggled out the gate brand new starter but then to end the season they were hot. He was for three hundred thirty nine yards last week. I know it's against enough. So yes but illinois was not that good no against nebraska and against utsa. And i think another thing is the defense. Look at the passing attack william and mary through for eighty nine yards. Eighty nine yards. We'll guess what whether it's peter's arthur hausky. They're not going to have any success in the arrogance. A bronco audifax. Liked what i did there. I didn't pronounce a quarterback. I let colby pronounce it. I art deco scheme. The only thing. I am. I getting cute here and thinking that. Uva is possibly looking ahead to unc. Next week it looks looking past illinois and maybe illinois gets this cover. No i mean. Look the unc game shore. That's a big game within the coastal. But i just think. I think illinois is not a good team. I think that's the reality is is that this is a team that's gonna to win game play charlotte charlotte in a week or two. We saw at charlotte. Just did the duke. I think every week it's going to be a grind. There's not much explosion on that offense give me. Uva minus nothing has fans back fans mac and charlottesville alive. Place gonna matter much insurance bill. But i will say this. There's nothing better than a bad team performing well early in the season. So you get a little invited value. And it's much as i hate. Uva hate the city of charlottesville. I'm gonna lay the points here. Because i don't think bret bielema. Even though he did learn under the great tutelage of gioja jal rise there in new york for year. Coaching the linebackers. I think to your point scott. Frost was more that way and was more about scott frost. Dumpster fire of nebraska. Than it is about. Larry here this episode or good buddy larry. The cable guy's gonna be all worked up about. Yeah i'm with the guys i'll i'll take. Uva minus ten kramer. Are we a little real little worried about colby and his six pack. Five games in hasn't sniffed dog yet in this six. You guys made me take away. My national texas state employees and kobe has been red hot but the six pack actually like always picking existence. We're broadcasting beautiful studio. Don't bring that ugly game. That game was not fit for the beautiful blue wire studios whole why oregon state in core values oregon oregon state land eleven minus four fifty on the money line. Total sitting at sixty three and a half hawaii really got destroyed by ucla week one but team though and again now that we have two games of data. Why would the nice bounce back win over portland state oregon state. They lost at home Do i think they're going to get up for this game. But i also think hawaii has some town for watching the ucla game. They were clearly a little bit out of sync. But i think it was more just about how good ucla was. I'm certainly concerned about hawaii's defense but this number seems too big for me. I'm probably gonna take the rainbow warriors. Here catching eleven me. What are you doing here. Oregon state was on the road last week. This is the first game back in corvallis. So that's why. I'm going with the home team here. Man in portland state do for four hundred yards on hawaii last last week. blew my. I had hawaii locked up in portland. Stake got that back door cover. But i just don't think they have the passing attack cordero. I liked cordero. I don't think he's there yet Oregon state gonna get need if they're going to have a bowl season. This is a must win game for them. They lost the fifty fifty game with purdue. They had a couple of quarterbacks play but overall they still shell out pretty good. That was a close game against purdue and hawaii.

Gosh i mean like for a couple extra bucks. Why would i go to the laundromat and spend all that time but most of our customers are not laundromat customers. Most of our customers are people that have a washer and dryer at home. They just don't wanna be bothered right. They want those extra couple of hours. That's what wants extra coupla you bill business and i've heard you talk about this. I was interested in it because someone who is in a family business. You could sit there and say this is the way to go. Everyone should be in a family business. And all that i love it because i do believe things pulled opposite directions because on one end great idea on the other end. It's possibly a terrible idea. Maybe the section than you convey to be in a family business and is your wife and three of your kids right that are in this business and there's probably a lot of good in that and there's probably a lot of all my gosh what we do here and you have a background in. Helping people with their marriage is right and you understand the relationships you understand the dynamics the moving parts the day-to-day. There's so much happening in that. What is it like now. She's like the one at the very talk about things all the time. She's like a consultant. You yes but anyway. It's a fascinating question you're asking you hit them. Two sides of it in both sides are accurate. And i'll address. Both sides are trying to do it briefly so on the one hand. It's amazing working with my kids. Columbus as kids get older as parents of older kids. No you have to work harder to find ways to stay connected to your kids because they begin to develop their own lives and they're not living at home and the connection is not as easy and natural when you work together you have this ongoing natural connection which creates this natural portal for interaction. And that's wonderful that. Keep me involved with my kids and talking with my kids and and you never stopped parenting in the business. There is like even on the website to the business. My title is dead and ceo and that was intentional. Like i am the ceo. But i also really am. They're dead and they look to me. I think in both those roles in a business setting so it's just very it's like a new shelter in fatherhood and it's very nice and i'm very proud of my children and the roles that they play in the company. Thank god we work very well together. My kids are all very different. They have very different superpowers. They have very different rules in the business. It's not competitive or jealousy really. We all really worked very very well. Together.

Yeah, from from falling into drunken, uh, the potted plants. A drunken mess to Yeah. Where? Where we begin with all my antics over the years. There's probably a lot of stuff my shenanigans. "Radio. Tell you F L A Ryan Gorman in for Jack Harris, with Aaron and Katie. Let's see if you both agree with me that Feels like it's a pretty sure thing. This woman is going to hell for what she did. A Georgia woman allegedly lied about having terminal cancer to swindle people out of thousands of dollars on she even shaved her head is part of the scam. That's not cool. I mean, if you're going to do this game, you have to shave your head. I mean, he went all headed. Is it? Yes. She dead with multiple times. She shaved her head. Would you be surprised if I told you I don't personally know somebody that did this? But my somebody, my family knows someone who did this. Wow. They get money. It wasn't about money was actually about keeping someone in a relationship with them. Oh, my. Oh, my gosh, That's it. I don't know if that's worse, or just a different kind of crazy. And then when he when the person found out that she was lying about the cancer she about a month later came to him and said she was pregnant. And he didn't believe her. She was just crazy. Oh, she really was pregnant. Oh, yeah. Pregnant. I had someone lie about a dead relative, but that's it. You guys run in some crazy circles. I told you it's It's someone else in my family is not my circle its outer circle. It's the outer layer. So this woman, Katie Lynn Shell, or she's a 22 year old mom. She was arrested on suspicion of death. Deception after she collected at least $15,000 and I've got a tweet here that she put out a family of four. I'm fighting stage four cancer while raising two kids, 13 and 17 months old and trying to survive off one income. We need all the help we can get to stay above water. Cry emoji Crime oci crime. Oh, Ji, please, with lots of exclamation points And then a picture of her with her family and a shaved head. Oh, my gosh! Of course. Katie Lynn. Her name has to be my name. Oh, yeah, That's right. I didn't even think about that. Yeah, well, I'm glad her family. A member of her family was the one who stepped up and told authorities about this, that she was using the money to buy marijuana and alcohol, and that's a good family member to realize that this is wrong there, you know, Obviously, they know she's shaving her head and probably figuring out what's happening if they kept on if they knew that information, and they held on to that, and didn't let people know that would be they'd be just as bad. Now. If she were doing that, because let's say she was behind on her rent. Does that change the dynamic at all? As opposed to buying booze and marijuana? Not the money. Okay, You're lying about something that people deal with on a daily basis somebody in their families, a friend who has cancer terminal cancer. Whatever it maybe they're dealing with that struggle. Note. There's no excuse If you're struggling in your life financially find another way, and I know it's easier said than done, but that's not the way to do it. They're homeless veterans living on the street. There's homeless people living on the street. And I mean, they're not making up cancer stories to try and get money. You know, just that's ridiculous. You want to make up that you want to make a sign that says you have a family home and maybe you don't and you want to get a couple extra bucks that way. I'm sure there are a couple people without a home who do that, But this is next level..

"Back to our number. 21 Bills live Chris Brown, Steve Tasker with you. Waiting to be joined by NFL network reporter DD Think of Well if he's going to be talking to us chiefly about Steelers since that is the pills week, One opponent And usually has her ear to the ground on all things Steelers. She does that for NFL network along with some other teams in the region, But that is one of her main beats during the season. So Wanted to get a sense from her because that's another roster that is experienced a good deal of turnover, particularly on their offensive line. And on defense is well, some pretty big name players like Bud Dupri, Stephen Nelson. Starting corner who's still out there and floating around in free agency. So I think he's picking this spot. Get her too. Yeah. I mean, he's got five teams interested in him, including the bills. I'm sure none of those teams have offered him. Much more than the veteran minimum. And so he's like, You know what? I'm gonna wait until somebody really needs me. And then they're gonna have to pay. Maybe somebody's got a couple extra bucks and through and give my one year dealing hit the market again. Yeah s so Let's do that. Now we bring in NFL network reporter Aditi King of Walla and Aditi. Thanks for giving us some time. First and foremost, I don't mean to. Ah, poke fun at you too much here, but we were watching the NFL draft coverage. And they station you probably in the windiest location by the lake the day of the draft and we are watching you on cameras doing your best smile through gritted teeth as it was clear to us that you were freezing. Your took us off. Um, how cold was it that first day of the draft? Okay, so it wasn't about the cold. It was about the bugs. Because I absolutely swallowed a bug as I was trying to report on the Steelers schedule, which was a little bit ridiculous, But you swallowed a bug. Reconnect. It made me reconnect with Java. Chamberlain. Who, as you all know, had this Awful Midi experience in Cleveland, But let me tell you guys as you're sitting here, introducing me and you're talking about the dealers and the safety Norris and etcetera, etcetera. I'm not sure if you're aware of this, but my First and on Lee Sun is a mega mega mega bill. Stan. Oh, wow, really? Yes, like mega mega. So he's got good. He's had many fights with his father, who is a Steeler season ticket holders coming up for opening day. Well, yes, because my son has already declared that to be a family road trip, But here's where I asked both of you for advice. How do you manage that? You know, as a member of the media, you're such we completely impartial and unbiased. But when one of your Children One of the you know, I'm gonna I'm gonna be most vital to you. Yeah, I think, Chief you need to have a bias towards that. Well, happy. I think, Aditi the people to consult on this are are the people that you consulted for? The Steelers bills Sunday night game in 2019. I remember you talked to the Edmund's family. If I'm not mistaken. They had a jersey like sliced in half or maybe even three ways with two Your brother's on the Steelers roster. And then Tremaine obviously appear in Buffalo. I think those are the people you need to consult for this. We're no way We're two dyed in the wool on one side of the fence. Let me just be self Go ahead. No, I'm saying, why don't you have any loyalty to the husbands like he's not? Wow, my No, No, that's true genetic material, the risk at the risk of sounding self serving you obviously side with the kid. Perfect. Okay. Goodbye. You don't have to apologize for that day. Yeah, eh, So what So is he like? Is he a huge Josh man? Or is he just like somebody else on the team that he really loves? Or is it just the whole thing the whole ball of wax? I think it's a hat. But quite frankly, when he was a baby, I would spend up to Buffalo for the year that Josh Alan and Tremaine and men for drafted and he came up with me. So he spent a week up in Buffalo at the Married Harbor Center. Whatever is called that the Padilla's old downtown. He had the best time of his life and the staff there took care of him and gave him a sabers, hockey stick and all of that, and he decided that he loved Buffalo. On and when, Yeah, and when his father tells him that you're allowed to, like Buffalo, except when they play the Steelers, he tells his father, I'm a bills fan. Get over it. Okay, There's no really sounds like a bills fan. There's nothing like there's nothing like, you know, just a good old fashioned bribe with a hockey stick, and I had on a weekend away. That's like I'm banned for life. Fancy life. Well, that's really cool person who enjoys maybe during the pot. Occasionally I feel like I enjoy this. A man like that is good and that and I'm sorry you had to eat a bug during a live shot. That is something I fortunately have never experienced and good on you for staying in professional form there throughout the whole thing, because I had no idea that is what transpired. I just thought you were cold there on the lake because we've experienced the wind here awfully here, and it is not fun. Well and that you know the whole point of like this lake. Eerie triumvirate. This is my wish. Like as we sit here and you talk about the NFL now and moving into the future, Wouldn't you love for the Browns Steelers and the bills all be Kind of the elite of the NFL.

"It comes to highway drive. There should be very few instances other than emergencies or something that you just didn't pay attention to for whatever reason the have to get on the brakes on the highway otherwise. There's hardly any reason that you need to use brakes on the highway. You should be able to see everything ahead of you and make your speed adjustments is necessary to keep proper following this. Don't you should always be looking behind you to see what's coming up on the six also in blind spots always turning not just using your side mirrors because there's blindspot teaching them all the right things the thing that i double down on the most regardless of how many lanes we'll be in here in cleveland. There's plenty of times when you're in five and six lane highways either direction. You don't hang out of the left hand lane you get around somebody. Soon as you're clear to pull back if you're not just overtaking cars at a rapid rate and you can just stay in the left hand lane like that fine but holy crap. These people in missouri are just lounging about in the left hand lane. It's like kramer one out from seinfeld and drew those extra long lines. They don't care sixty five miles an hour in the left hand lane by the way as speed posted speed in missouri and illinois is a mere suggest i was doing eighty five and ninety miles an hour all the way back through ohio eve. But you can't do sixty five in the left hand lane when there's nobody ahead of you for miles move on over that really chapped my ass as it were coming back home i just. Nobody air move it over as hall. We're coming through at eighty five ninety a clip. It's my version of the highway over in europe. The autobahn that's right. Just if you're headed that way be prepared to go around pass on the right side. I don't even like doing that too much. I will all even bonus lane somebody. Do you have any additional advice or words of wisdom that you wanna share for folks who are just trying to navigate their financial planning and wealth-building sage. Today like what can they do today. That can help enhance their lives. So the guy that. I was talking to yesterday that i mentioned a moment ago. I asked him who he uses to send money with and he told me a name of one of the big money transfer providers and i said okay. Why do use them. He says oh uh i think about it. I guess it's just we've been using forever you know we've been using it for a long time. I already had the app downloaded. So it's just easy and it's what i'm used to. There's no cameras. Do they charge you every time and he said okay. Well they charge me about Eighteen percent of the transaction. Every time i said so every single time he sends. And that's every other week Three hundred dollars Every time he does that. So let's see that's about Almost sixty bucks if he's paying every time and so rather than getting two hundred and ninety dollars his mother's getting two hundred forty dollars more or less every single time. And that's because that's just the way that these used to doing it and so to answer your question terms of what advice i happen. People don't keep doing things the way that you have been doing them. Just because that's what you're used to. I can almost promise you that there's a better way. And it's almost very little behavioral change or you just kind of have to go a couple extra bucks to compare and then you'll be saving fifty sixty bucks every couple of weeks for sending money you can credit card get one that doesn't charge you that big and you will be. You can start building your credit score higher so that you can get loans to better interest rates..

"Expertise also in federal benefits, and now we can say Amazon bestseller Your book. Marty Retire Smart America. It's out, It's out. I found Yes, it finally finally got published, and it is a number one best seller on Amazon. So I'm excited about having my book available for for my clients and another. So it is it is. It took about a year to do this so But it's finally out only that good. That's great. I look forward to reading it. Retire. Smart America. Yes, I learned a lot from you on this show so I can learn even more from the book, Right. Good advice. Good advice. Marching is your retirement specialist. That's what you do You, sir. Build retirement plans. And so now we're gonna ask those listening to play along with us and ask yourself some questions here to make sure as you said, you're ready to ride off into the sunset, which could be a long right now. We're tired. So here's the question. How much more do I have left in the tank? Because you keep going a little bit? Well, you know where we're living longer. So you got to make sure you gotta have a lot in that tank. You make sure that tank is nice and full s. So you're so you're don't have to worry about You know, eating dog food or exactly or even can't Rahman noodles? Exactly. So there's a lot of different things that go into planning for retirement. And I take care of all of them. I we're gonna put together these plans for you and make sure that your tank is always full and hopefully gets fuller because we want you constantly making money on your Investments and on your retirement savings. So even if even though you're drawing it down, you should be maybe hopefully making more money on it and and having having a better retirement than you planned on. So that's that's the objective. Eyes for me to put together these plans for you implement them, manage him and make sure that you're happy camper while you're riding off into the sunset in that 1957 Chevy a impeller. It has to be your own route 66. Here's the This is the way I see it. This far is the tank because you provide that guaranteed income tow wage 100 beyond so you've got plenty of gas stations to pull off into Right, Right. Well, the report does is a long term report. It's not just some 10 or 15 year report that a lot of companies will put together for you. This is this report goes to at least aged 100. And beyond, because we are living longer, and I want to make sure that there's more money left at the end of the life and then more life left at the end of the money. And so we put together these reports, and that's not just the guarantee Lifetime income plan, But it's also that social Security maximization reports we could tell you and show you how to maximize those Social security benefits. For the rest of your life also, and that's important. So putting these reports together, making sure that you're prepared and what are you going to do in retirement? You know, that's another subject for discussion as well. You know, that's that's a good question to ask yourself. What will I do Because it's probably not sitting in a rocking chair on the porch with the blanket wrapped around your legs. Well, you know, the most most of my clients. There. There. Go getters. They're busy. They like to stay busy. So even in retirement, they have some kind of a plan. They're going to retire. They're going to retire from their job and they're gonna volunteer where they're going to get a part time job. They're gonna you know, travel, They're going to see the world. So there's so many different things. I have a lot of gardeners that I have clients. I have people would workers I have, You know, a lot of people that are involved in a lot of different things. They have hobbies. They haven't You know things that keep them active and unoccupied because you're gonna have a lot more time on your hands, and you want to make sure that that time is Is occupied with something that you really enjoy doing, And that's that's really what's important because you worked hard. Now it's your turn. There was something that you enjoy pick up to do a hobby, You know, do something that you that you want to do? That's that's enjoyable. Even if you make a new hobby, you know? Yeah, you know you may You may be start making furniture. Who knows? It's another. It's a new chapter. In your own Could be I have a client he makes he goes toe to the Home Depot, and he picks up a bunch of pipes and this and that he makes lamps, and it's just It's really interesting to see that some of his white, wild and weird creations that he makes, but you know, that's he really enjoys it, and he sells among line and it's something to keep him active. Keeping busy makes a couple extra bucks here and there, but it's not even about the money. It's about, you know, making while making back when you invest in it, obviously. But at the same token, it keeps him active, keeps him active and engaged well, and that's what it's all about. I mean, enjoying your retirement. As you said, you have worked hard. And if you put the right planning, you conducive that in sleep well at night, and that's what Marty.

The “boiling water challenge” is sending people to the hospital

"Things that kids do today. Really just I mean, no thought is put in and they just do things some things for publicity or gone viral on social media. That's that's the big deal. If you could come up with something that goes viral and all of a sudden make you a star. These people were mostly younger people will do anything of everything to do that the latest internet challenge is to fling boiling water into the freezing cold air watch turn into frozen, vapor. Now the burns center at Loyola University Medical Center says they treat an eight people so far who've tried to challenge. I did this. When I lived in Michigan.
