Debt Ceiling Deal Gives Unlimited Debt Until 2025

"All right, friends, well, today, as I said, we are hopefully wrapping up or at least putting a big momentary pause on the macro story that has dominated markets for the past few months. Yes, a deal has been reached in the debt ceiling standoff with both President Joe Biden and Republican House Speaker Kevin McCarthy making major concessions in order to move the matter forward. The deal on the table would suspend the debt ceiling entirely until the 1st of January 2025. Presumably this puts off the next dispute over federal borrowing until the middle of that year and uncapping the debt limit in the interim. The core of the argument is a two -year cap on federal spending, although each side is presenting the story slightly differently. The White House claims the spending cap would reduce spending by around $1 trillion over while the GOP argue that spending cuts are twice that level. New York Times analysis puts the spending reduction at around $55 billion next year and another $81 billion the following year. So let's talk about what's actually in the deal. The set of tradeoffs in the deal have caused outrage among numerous groups of ideologically aligned lawmakers and special interest groups on both sides of the aisle to the point where there are few truly happy with the compromise. Now that of course might mean in America's polarized politics that it's actually a good compromise deal. IRS funding has been cut, with $20 billion of the $80 billion in additional funding to bolster the tax department now being repurposed to fund discretionary government programs. And what's worth noting here is that early in the negotiations, this IRS funding was a red line for the president. You will no doubt remember when he said that he would not accept any deal that benefited quote wealthy tax cheats and crypto traders. Another aspect of the deal was that work requirements for food stamps recipients will be expanded. However, the cohort of people this will affect appears to be small. Only impacting recipients aged 50 to 54 while exempting veterans, the homeless and people who grew up in foster care. However, negligible the effect on the budget, the expansion of work requirements within the benefits program was an important symbolic policy for hardline conservatives. And small as the concession might seem, there are still many on the left who are very, very against

4th death, more vision loss cases linked to tainted eyedrops

"The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention reports another death linked to eye drops tainted with a drug resistant bacteria. Four people have died, 81 people have been infected and 14 people have lost their vision. Cases have been reported in 18 states. The bacteria driving at pseudomonas aeruginosa is resistant to standard antibiotics. CDC investigators say most of the patients had used certain brands of eye drops and products from Ezra care and delson farma were recalled in February. After the recall, health inspectors visited the plant in India that made the eye drops and found problems with how the drops were made and tested, including inadequate sterility measures. The CDC also said four people needed surgery to remove an eyeball due to the infections.

Loneliness poses risks as deadly as smoking: surgeon general

"The U.S. Surgeon General declares loneliness an epidemic about half of U.S. adults say they've experienced loneliness, a growing health problem exacerbated by the pandemic that increases the risk of premature death by nearly 30%. That's according to an 81 page report from the office of doctor Vivek Murthy, the Surgeon General has declared loneliness a public health epidemic as a way to raise awareness, although that won't unlock any funding or federal programming, the report says isolation also increases the risk of stroke, heart disease, depression, anxiety, and dementia, in an AP interview, Murthy says there's no substitute for in person interaction, and it's not right, millions of Americans struggle in the shadows with a feeling like hunger or thirst that the body sends us when something we need for survival is missing. The report suggests that technology companies roll out protections for children on social media and calls on organizations to help boost the country's connectedness. Jennifer King, Washington

Was it mainly you were writing more for yourself and other people liked it, talk to us a little bit, you know, for the first out there who likes to perform, but also has that little bit of riding that has that riding side in them as well. Well, as I told you, I didn't come to town as a writer. I came as a guitar player, but I had put some melodies to other people's lyrics when I come to town. And getting the job with Eddie, Eddie was such a great and is such a great songwriter. You know, I just wanted to show him a few of the songs that I had put melodies to. And he liked my melodies, and it kind of went from there. We ended up we ended up writing together. We went and we hoping to show for Tanya talker down in New Orleans. Jeff James: Look for Signs Ahead of Targeted School Violence

"You know a lot about this issue And one of the things I brought up earlier is the Secret Service and tax study It was updated in 2021 And one of the key findings about targeted school violence school shootings and incidents like we saw yesterday Is that the attackers frequently matter of fact almost overwhelmingly nearly every time you know told someone and vocalized or wrote to someone about their intention to do something like this So your thoughts on that that the signs are that we may be missing them sometimes Yeah exactly And if I remember the percentage correctly it's 81% of the time So what I tell people when I consult with them is imagine if 8 out of ten times someone would have spoken up and we could have prevented 8 out of ten school shootings So the responsibility really needs to be on the people around this person If you see them going down we call it the path toward violence Let somebody know so we can give them you know the old saying the off ramp to get off of that path toward violence And I know I know there was a young woman who was a friend of the shoot yesterday who tried it but sadly the shooter was already into their plan before the young lady before her friend was able to contact the police but at least she tried She made the effort to reach out and you really you really have a responsibility to do that

He had polio as a young child and it has affected his gait a little bit on and off and he does have some balance issues from time to time. This is not, this is not unusual for people that have had polio in their life. So prayers for Mitch McConnell, he is not expected to miss much action, at least as of as of this morning. It looks like it's fairly minor, but prayers go out to Mitch McConnell. As we do to John fetterman two, nobody wishes ill upon John federman or dianne Feinstein for that matter.

"You're not doing anything with your personal business. I guarantee that's what's happening. Okay, I'm not gonna argue that, especially when it comes to team building, I mean, my personal business is great. I can run parties all day long and connect in all my social media stuff, but that's not what I mean like personal recruiting and developing leaders. Absolutely. Totally. That's probably what's not happening. No, it's really not. It's not. Yeah. What's happening with your recruitment? It's very inconsistent. I'm not really binding the quality people that I want. And especially the leaders and potential leaders I need to really to get to that next rank. That's really what's missing is I need to develop. I mean, I have a few little small leaders, but I need at least one person that wants to come in and work this business and grow to, you know. You know, we're all waiting for people to just come in and magically want it. But you actually have to teach them. Like there's a reason why it's leadership development. You have to teach them things. You have to help them step into that. Instead of just waiting around being like, whenever you want it, there is as a leader, you do have to get your hands dirty. I want to know when you're not when you're managing your team. And not leading your team, what looks different. So managing is. So I feel like right now I just do what I need to do to make sure they kind of stay connected, help them reach their bare minimum stuff. Oh, so good. Do you have to hear what you just said? Yeah. You only focus on helping them reach minimum. Okay. Everything that's happening in your business and your organization is because you are doing minimum and you are teaching your leaders to do minimum. You're teaching everybody, hey, these are all the activities we do to keep our paycheck. But not grow it. Okay. Wow..

"The great question. I'm drawn prepared for it. I need to thank you. Know i would say my way of answering. That is that. I feel that my book is unique. I have on my wall here. Hundreds of books that i read over the last decade literally about roe and abortion and there isn't another book like this And i think that's talent. I do think that these narratives become so ingrained in us so just to give you one little right ample one side but the two sides won't even allow the other side to call them what they want right. So you're you're either if you are if you're a pro choice than the other side is antiabortion if you're pro-life than your pro the other side is pro-abortion and my god like at least let people call themselves what they want and i write in my authors note. I referred to them as pro choice in pro-life like that would be a good starting point. Lead people call themselves well and those do exactly what i do. Nothing about as well the media will say pro choice and then anti-choice something depending on who you talk to and just or vice versa. And just that alone shows shows a bias right. That's right 'cause nobody's anti-choice normally. I mean that's a negative thing in this particular issue. Right it is. I have right and i can make these crazy decisions even just the language so for example if you use the word fetus than the pro-life will say well how dare use the word fetus. That's an unborn child so that was another choice that i made. I call Like but i did use or fetus. Because i think specificity is important. And i don't think that a that a that a single cell even if it is going to become again making sure your this you already. If you've been alive in america and you're not jennifer who didn't know what roe v wade who apparently been alive in america and not living in that house you know what roe v wade is you know how important it is not just for women's health care and women's rights to choose and in this abortion debate but but so much of of all supreme court cases get tied to row. How how a supreme court justice decides a case on on gay marriage gets tied to what they will probably do own. Row as supreme court justices get nominated and their hearings. Josh was already said they get asked how they feel about row. It is sort of the most powerful precedent in america. right now. you have not heard of this story. You have not heard of this case but what you have not heard is the real story behind. norma mccorvey. you've not heard the story behind shelly. Who is the child who norma was did not terminate the pregnancy that pregnancy. And you've not heard near as much background. Information as joshua has in his book. The family row so i absolutely urge you. It's a narrative. Not just. I mean it's not just not just filled but it's narrative and it's a beautiful story of average americans would you. Would you call them. Average americans and so. Don't wait for the movie because he's going to have a long negotiation. Process sells the rights to this book. Because it is just absolutely fascinating. Don't wait for it. get the book. it's the family. Row joshua prager. You've written a book about the most controversial thing in one of the most controversial topics in america and the last half century. You have sat with people as you've said on both sides of this incredibly contentious issue people who are passionate on this side passionate on that side. Do not agree. I can't think of anybody who i've asked this question to in the last year. Who is maybe better prepared to tell me an answer to it because you've really been in the mix of it for ten years. How the heck are we going to get along. That is a very it really does go back to what i believe in deeply that quote by melville that we need to get to know each other. When you know somebody who isn't just like you. You begin to care about them and so we need to not only listen to the news stations. That will tell us what we want to hear. And we need to not only know people who look and just like us and believe things we believe. We need to be challenged just like all of us may have made decisions. That aren't exactly like what our parents made so to. Now talk to someone civilly here. What they think. And that's what. I tried to do in my book and if you do that there is there really. It's it's it's like a it's formulaic. It will happen that if you spend time with. People were not just like you. You will begin to broaden your horizons and think a little bit outside the box and if we could do that just a little bit. This country would be a much better place..

"But i gotta say on the question of the conservative ship i am squarely and unequivocally in the camp of free brittany. I think this is frigging ridiculous. What is happening to britney spears and it needs to end. Can you tell me any i. I don't even really understand the idea of the conservative ship more. Broadly i understand if someone has personal troubles than someone else can be designated to make legal decisions for them. But how broad is it. Because just knowing what i read in the newspapers it seems deeply on american. It seems deeply wrong. What is what is happening to this so it is it is incredibly broad and and look there are various steps in the law that that that an individual can forfeit their their freedom their liberty. If you're seriously mentally mentally ill you can be involuntarily committed but for you to be involuntarily committed. You've got to be typically a danger to yourself or a danger to others and that's got to be demonstrated. It vary state by state but usually with a pretty high evidentiary standard for your freedom to be taken away from you and you to be incapacitated. A conservative ship is similar to that. The demonstration under california law for a conservative ship to be entered into for someone else to have the ability to make life decisions for you. Either about you your person. Your health like what you can do with your life or your finances. The threshold is quite high in there typically used for people who are very very elderly for people's whose faculty of lost them. If you have say alzheimer's and you're no longer able to care for yourself then. There's a role for conservative ship. If you have someone who's mental capacity is not there. What is bizarre about what happened to britney spears is is. She's a thirty nine year. Old woman She's a mother of two she You know has she had issues in life. Shore has she had issues with mental illness. Perhaps i don't know i'm not a doctor. I haven't seen that demonstrated. Has she had issues with substance abuse. We know she's been to rehab. But but i gotta say if if you're going to lock up everyone in hollywood who's had substance abuse issues you're going to have a long long line and and and and in fact sunset boulevard might be empty. That's real estate. Prices would plummet. It'd be great so so the threshold. It is bizarre and this conservative ship. It happened two thousand eight. It happened while she was in the midst of and coming out of a nasty custody. Dispute with your ex-husband over our kids look custody. Disputes get ugly and and she had had an incident you know she went and took took an umbrella to pop rasi. Now listen i you know. I don't know any of us. That would react well to people hounding you every moment you go outside when you go to the the seven eleven when you go to the grocery store where you do anything people taking pictures constantly being in your face you know i. I'm reminded of the scene in in the untouchables to use a movie example. Where we're al capone played. Beautifully by deniro gets mad at a photographer and grabs the cameron and breaks it like that that reaction while perhaps not the best reaction is an incredibly human and understandable reaction and the idea that and so all right she shaved her head. Okay last. I checked shaving. Your head is not a capital offense. I shed pretty hair. But who the hell's business it is if she wants to share her not the threshold for taking away. Someone's liberty and capacity to make decisions properly under the law is very high and it should be hi and at this point. We're looking at what thirteen years of.

"The department of justice is suing the state of georgia over its voting rights law. There is a new voting rights law. Up for discussion named after. The late congressman. John lewis. There's a major court case that the supreme court refused to hear on whether or not there's a constitutional right for men to use the women's bathroom but there is one legal issue on the mind of america before any of the others. that of course would be. When will we hashtag free. Britney spears this verdict with ted cruz. Welcome back to verdict. I'm michael knowles. Oops i did it again. I did not lead with the most important story and one that i really wanna get into senator so good to be with you to touch on all the important legal issues of the day. Well if there's anything this podcast is known for. It is focusing on the issues. That will determine the fate of the republican. So i'm glad we can continue in that tradition today. In in that case. Senator hit me baby one more time. I want to know what the real details are of this case i actually. I'm only being facetious here. Because we've seen this pop up in the culture every now and again you'll see the hash tag free brittany of movement at. She's under a conservative ship You know a lot of us grew up with her as a very important figure especially the young men out there. She occupied a lot of space in our minds and she's been under this conservative ship for some time so she doesn't appear to have any real legal rights. I read somewhere that she. She has a birth control device. That her her doctors will not remove and that her family will not allow her to remove. I mean this. This seems like in some cases the stuff you hear about in communist china and yet that's permitted to go on here so so. Do you know anything about this or you know. Conservative ships more generally and how people can be deprived of their civil rights. So i will say this this may be an illustration of something of a generational. Divide where we're whereas you grew up with with brittany spears On your wall. I i was more of a fair faucet. Guy but but you know the. The decades saturday's passing on So i will readily confess i. "Well, Rose and all of that was Laura indications. Oh, a woman with a lot going on. You know, she won this. The world's biggest gravel race the weekend on Bond as it's known and that was back at work a couple of days later doing her very important job. She's an epidemiologist as I said, so we're all epidemiologist now aren't way. Yeah, she loves him more closely than a personal insult. Some of us are amateur. Yeah, but yeah, I mean, she's obviously at a very busy year but still managed to, to break the Everlasting world record. Get married. And the one, I almost didn't have a honeymoon, but fair enough, she was often Kansas Loser. Yeah, I'll come over. I made, at least one loaf of banana bread, so I know it's a little more than me, but very well. I mean, impressive. But also it's a very exciting time for gravel racing. And one of the most appealing things I find about is dead. Difficulty in watching it, it makes it more. It kind of adds to the Mystique of it and and we know from watching well, that you don't know much. Yeah, cuz your imagination really can go to talk a little bit, it feels it feels like a throwback, you know, and it was supposed to be in Boswell as well. Who won the men's race about how how the race unfolded and it does sound sort of quite magical an experience to to do. I asked Lauren as well whether she had enjoyed it and she she did certainly more than ever assisting because it's a bit more fun to going place to place, I guess. But yeah, I think it's really exciting time for graduation. We all love Strada Bianca. We've enjoyed the gravel stage of the tour of Italy and it seems that, you know, in America that scene is really taking off and becoming quite professional. Some people don't like that and but that brings opportunities to to make it bigger and to allow more people. See it. Yeah, we all sing it creeped more and more into traditional road racing and it often is the kind, those stages, are the stages that you think about, when you're on things about the the Giro d'Italia the bed and stared tires just been having that kind of, I don't know. It wasn't gravel was. It was like dirt. Yeah. And dirt white white. Yeah. Yep. Yeah. And then thinking about last year at the DeRosa, when Anna McMahan, flutin was just stormed ahead on that. Those white gravel roads there and I think you're seeing more and more of the stage races kind of incorporating to incorporate a gravel road. Whereas I remember like years ago, at the Tour de France and they're putting in Cobble stages, it was all this big kind of worried of, you know, and should there be a couple stage is it not to, you know, writers who get injured or crash or is it not you know it's not too much of a lottery to put it into a job? To something that's kind of you building through like a a grant some of you know about the yeah yeah yeah I wonder if the professionalisation of the increasing professionalisation of gravel means it will start to have like different categories. Sort of a case of all that's not a gravel. Stage of the Tour de France that to me or unpaved now, White Road, Dustin stage, fine granular, consistency. You know what it will get like gravel snow Barina whereby, it's not going to qualify unless it's a certain grade of stone, who knows. But I like it took like Bravo. Anyway, those the gravel police exactly the gravel know how could I put that the Gravelly? And I'm saying, the grass killer P. O's stuck through the gravel, Leonardo trying to say easy for you to say probably. Yeah. Yep, Maybe especially don't exist is best for an interesting Lauren obviously has this important job but it's a bit of a Crossroads. Now even in the few days since her win already, she can off the gravel Crossroads. She she can see that there are doors opening and opportunities. Perhaps ahead of her to maybe pursue cycling as a full-time career again. Which is difficult decision? Luckily, she sounds like she's got an awful lot of time in her hands. Oh yeah. She visit you or anything. That's that's one thing I want to ask. You both before we go this month the we knew already that the women's Tour de France. Actually a Tour de France, Farm has been confirmed and been given a slot in the calendar and World Tour status. What you know, a week-long is what you know and it kind of links to that last discussion. What do we think? What sort of course do you think? I mean is it going to be a race that goes into the high mountains? It's going to start in. Paris is is that feasible birth? Or maybe one of the, you know, the the the Massif Central, or what do you think it should do and what you think it could do? Oh, that's a big thing is this is where my my guard is already up a little bit because I hadn't even thought that and I am single man. If we get like, six seven stages of racing and and Sprints, then I'm going to I'm might just tear all my hair out. It has it just has absolutely has to be fundamental. We need at least a Sprint, a media Minds in a high-minded and a time trial, don't worry and I don't really care. I mean gravel would be wonderful. I mean, it doesn't need any of that fact, that it doesn't need any of that, and it doesn't really need any arbitrariness. It would be lovely to have something that is a pure stage Reyes. If you know what I mean. That covers all of the disciplines. I think it absolutely needs those. And then anything else is an icing on the cake? If it's missing one of those, in particular efforts, missing a high mountain stage, then we've got, then we've got trouble, don't worry. And we don't, I just don't want this to be left, open to any Criticism, it needs to be. It needs to be as perfect as it can be, and it needs to Showcase women's racing as brilliantly as it can be, because there's too much riding on it. And there's too many people watching and there's there's too much that can go wrong. It needs to be Robert. I think it definitely needs to live up to its name. Basically. I mean there are a lot of there are actually quite a lot of stage races in in women's. Like I know a lot of them are canceled this year but coming up next there's quite a few springing up. There's a lot of them like the Tour de Suisse has already said that, they want to develop into being a Ford, a five-day stage race. So I think the key thing for this Tour de France, next year, is that it yet lives up to that name. You get those Vistas that you expect to see when you turn in to turn on to see the door fronts, you're expecting to see the fields of sunflowers and the big mountains, and the Sean's Alizee, you're expecting to see those. So I think those elements have to be in it. Otherwise it, you know, it is just, you know, why job. Take any more eyeballs than, you know, all these other stage races that exists. Oh, really? I.

"Much time out of sight of doing that. But I think that, you know, that that kind of enjoyment of being in the package Being able to move yourself around in the close proximity to all those other Riders is something that she's probably still working on a little bit. I should imagine because all the other times that we've seen her family do, well, she has been striking out on her own or out being allowed to be at the front of of the pack and be you know pulling a break back or going solo. So I think it's nice to see home of an emergence that she can win. And then I think once you get those other kind of, I don't know, it's the Peloton etiquette but it's the bike handling that goes with being in a in a big package when she gets that sorted then she'll be really Unstoppable. "The levels of professionalism? I think this sport is track. A super hot spot letting you have to do everything, right? Like not not only like during the races, but also all around, like about the training about the food about like how you recover mentally and this kind of thing, I think you learn only by experience and I think that's why we need sometimes to, to Reno about it, for example, training. I mean, we're young and just go full gas all the time and you just, I don't know. It just like right back and go go all the way, super hard and training. And I think maybe after you learned that actually, you have to go off easy and then for the intensity, super hard and even that sometimes I feel like I I still have to learn this and things. Okay, well, that was a leash, a b, a talking to you all about her off Tour de Suisse, which was, I mean, what did we make of the tactics? She put it all on herself for losing that overall title on the second day on the second stage. But what did we do? Was there anything more to it? Team tactics. Let it down a little bit. Well, I don't know. I was really interesting to hear at least his take on it. Because whenever we'd watch the race track to send a message to the group, basically, like what was going on with Canyon tram? Am I allowed to say that radio place? You know? And I always find it really interesting then to talk to the writers and see, actually what was going on. And I just wonder sometimes whether, you know, tactics can seem really obvious and this is probably an obvious thing to say, but it can't really obvious when we're watching and actually it's just a case of trying and trying and trying to make happen and if it doesn't work it doesn't work. You know. And Italy said it was a really rough day. It was wet really Technical and it was really aggressive you know, those first couple of intermediate Sprints they could take a break away to go I mean Canyon child was trying to get in the Breakaway they couldn't but even any break away, that didn't have track and it would have been fine and it just didn't work out their way according to Ally's at Birth. But as she says a second on GC by 1 second on a stage, when is a phenomenal results for her? And it will only give her give her more confidence. And all she is a really welcome outcome for. Can you try and that's only their second when this year which actually, when I mentioned to Ali's she sounded really surprised by not really surprised but almost like that realization. She was like, oh yeah. Oh I feel like we've one more because we've so much potential and we've so much momentum and we're always in the mix. And so, you know, from the outside we it's easier to judge. I think on the end result, when, actually, something clearly is working right in there and it's led to a very recent win for them and she's hopeful that's going to be the start of more from them from several Riders across the rest of the season where it was great seeing, how delighted Lizzie Diamond was with that win. It was showed you, that it wasn't an easy win by a long stretch. I mean, that's kind of really showing off. Cycling. There are so much going on in the stage race. There's so many many battles going on and it's not just about the case of being the first cross, the finish line. I mean, I was surprised watching that stage and told them, you know, she was leading the race overall. She did have a, a cushion and I felt they could have ridden, more defensively, all of that. And they did have a you know that an interesting a couple of strong climbers Alexis Ryan. Those got a pretty good finish and Hannah Barnes as well can Sprint and it seemed you know, get getting a breakaway was a good idea. But in the in the in the faith to do, so put everything into trying to stop, Lizzie Dagnon from getting the the bonus seconds easier said than done. You know, it's not it's not PlayStation and and at least age is, is quite an experience and it's still quite new to the sport. And, and I think she showed that little bit towards the end when she, you know, a little bit desperately was trying attacking herself. Well, You know, she's still kind of had everything to play for. She didn't really back herself in a Sprint against as he died in, despite having beaten her on day. One, it seemed to me and I think, you know, it was interesting that, you know, that kind of strong team didn't have their their best right or cash interview, and they did they did ride, well, they all rode well, but I always look all that case. If it didn't look like, they were all writing to the same plan to me. But lots, that I find really interesting asking a lease what their team tactics tend to be and whether they go in with a protected Rider and they make it happen for that protected Rider or whether they sort of go with the flow of the race. And I was surprised the extent to which she said that they have that freedom and that she was not a good writer, they were going for on stage one. She said, you know, Alice could easily have one that stage the ended up writing for Ali's but it seems to be a more fluid situation during a race than I would have thought. Directed. And when I asked her about St, works and whether you know, she thought they, there's just more strategized or or at least that's maybe the wrong way to describe it. But whether they had a strategy in advance that they tended to stick more closely, she she seemed to think that that maybe it's more fluid throughout the Peloton than it might look from the outside. Anyway, I mean, maybe that's because you always think that other teams are writing like you but yeah it doesn't seem to be awful. Not she said, it's not a case of they get on the team bus, in the morning. And say right here, she were going to ride for, and here's plan A, B, and C for that Rider. It's more, you know, here are some light comes and let's see what happens in the road. So it's, yeah, I was, I was, I was interested in that actually, I think it's interesting to see a leases emergence as a potential witness, because I think that if it's seeing it even in flesh, I mean, she's been so active this season. I think you can't miss her because he'll see Swiss Champions. She's got this red jersey with a big white cross on it and you, you know, you can. Yep. Always pick her out of the Peloton, but she's also always so active, like a flesh. We're alone. I remember her being in that little Trio off the front with Anna Henderson, Lucinda, brand wage which, you know, was the kind of that Breakaway was the one that kind of animated the rest of the race. And and obviously an abandoned Reagan was just going to win that. Whatever wasn't she? But you know it's been amazing to see her be so attacking and to see her in the Spanish races as well, but I think she likes to kind of exchange second to Grace, Brown in that burger stage as well. She gained first to be kind of out the front on our own. I think that's she's only in the fourth years as a pro. So and not even a program obviously as, as you spoke to her about all that she's dead. She is a doctor. So you know, she she hasn't taken.

"Because we've got such an awareness of sugar these days, but just how much, I don't know, maybe imbalance, I have em sugar levels or how much I rely on sugar essentially, cuz when I went to the gyro being away from home, I thought I'm going to be really healthy. I'm going to cut out all Badness from my diet and I went on this song. Shake diet because well, that's how I'm getting all my proteins and all my vitamins. And I know it's like what's plant-based and everything and within 3 days I almost passed out on. Are we were doing this segment when I when we had an interview age and I was presenting a rounder. And during the interview I thought I'm actually, I'm not going to able to finish this live show. I'm going to, I'm going to fall. I'm going to Keel over a live on-air. And then, it was only that night, that was talking, my husband, and he said, oh, you did not shake diet, like there's no sugar in that, you know, that's probably what it is. I had this massive sugar crash or sugar withdrawal and it was really scary, like, made me feel absolutely terrible. So I am. So yeah, face-planted into like a kilo bag of horrible after that. But I'd much rather be able to regulate, my blood sugar levels. So I'm really excited about getting mine and giving it a go. So yeah. We'll see, I'll be on fire for the Tour de France. I mean, there's a massive health component to it, which is another really interesting aspect of it. And and if writers aren't filled properly, they can put themselves in danger, you know, as well off. Fueling is always been part of sport and exercise, but anything that you can, anything that can help you, get that right, is surely a good thing. So anyway, yeah, enjoying wearing it so far. Well, clearly it's, it's doing wonders for the members of the canons from team that I are using it. And, and a lot of it being one of them, but obviously, her team-mate at the Tour. De Suisse Alicia, be a long one, that first stage and extraordinary extraordinary fashion beating lizard Island as Allah mentioned earlier, shall we hear from her and hear a little bit about a roller coaster of a Race. So first of all, at least, congratulations on your recent, when how did that fail? Yeah, thank you. In it was quite crazy. It's quite a perfect race with the with the team and yeah, the include finish it with the victory. It was, yeah, actually, I still can't believe it's nice. It's really nice for me. I mean, finding yourself in a one-on-one Sprint. With Lizzie diagnose and must be quite daunting. What were you? What was going through your mind in final strategic? Yeah, I mean, like And then I I look back and I saw that it was in my wheel and we were like the two of us. I was like yeah, it would be super hard to be certain the Sprint and I mean, but after that, I was like to be five in the back to be cool. With Sprint. Busy, we'll be there anyway. So I think it's it's even better to be two of only two. So then they already left drink in case I was like how can I bring his prints? I was like a shooting attack like wanted to go or like something. Then the DS in the car was really helpful. It really like help me with the with the printing and wage, you know, it's really pushed me to give my best and I really didn't want to be second. And to actually achieved it was it was it was crazy because I know she's one of the best sprinters and she one works like this. So yeah, I'm yeah, quite special I guess as well. In terms of Pride winning a home Reyes in the national champions Jersey must have added to that did it with me. Also a lot Angela me and I was like, so. Now I'm I'm the only one left with busy so I have to win because if I don't I mean maybe the other could have done it and make sure it's super nice as a service writer to win to 12 on this first stage in front of everybody there. I really wanted to show that I can finish the job and I can like also went away rage because from the spring Classics from I feel like I'm really in good shape and I really missed some some occasions and I was always in the front and attacking and trying to help the team and off the other day and absolutely. So I was actually I really had my personal account and I really wanted to show that when I asked this freak out, I can't really finish the job. So, yeah, I'm really happy that I could do it. It's often speculated upon a lease when a writer takes the first professional when that it changes, something that it changes them psychologically, or I guess gives them that confidence to New Jersey. That they can do it again, does it feel different to, you know? Sprint open. Yeah, for sure more and more confident and also like So at the end of the races, I can really do something and yeah for sure. Now I actually know I can really I can win. So so that's that's really cool. And also like in the team we have some really good writers and we can play a lot of Scouts so it's really nice to feel that. We have a lot of writers that can actually win. Is that how I feel is on the team because they've been to win so far this season and yourself and Alice on the team. So there haven't been an awful lot of team wins, but does it feel like there's a lot of potential there? Yeah, I mean, Like we had only two wins during the season, but I feel like we always at the end and also a lot of girls have a lot of potential in this game and I'm pretty sure every one of us can walk and so I think it's become more and more. It's just that. Yeah, I think it's also, I mean with Nikki were also quite new and Tim and I think we just need maybe a bit of time to really be there, but I'm pretty sure like like Shields we can see win pretty soon and what about stage 2 then of the Tour de Suisse. You had the unfortunate accident were you happy with how the team played stage 2 tactically. It was like, we knew it would be really hard with Lizzie because. Yeah, she's still a good Sprinter and I also do a really good team, and I'm pretty sure she really wanted this jersey. And so we knew it would be quite hard to defend it, but we had a good tactic. I mean first, we wanted Dead. It's going to break away and like I mean then they will not be any qualifications Prince anymore. But actually it was really hard to go away because the truck was the track team was there all the time like covering everything. Yeah. I mean also in this Bunch it was super hard for me to move like normally it's it's quite okay to move in the bus from me, but this day it was crazy like everybody was super crazy and it was off and support Technical and I think the team really played good really like Road in a good way and really tried everything for me and I just I just couldn't finish off so yeah. So you think it was more your own issue. You don't think there's anything that the team could have done differently to deny. Let's see those those time bonuses. I guess the girls really Tray, like they try to go in the brake and then they really try to to go for the benefit acacian and like, to avoid at least he has it. Yeah, at the end, like, I just couldn't go for the spread, I really tried. But to move in this month, too hard for me and to, to be in the position to supervise. So at the end, I just couldn't do it. And, I mean, yeah, we tried and we try to get energised again and I mean, it's yeah,.

"Page after that, we had the loitering and ladies to, it was one by Lucinda. Brand who took two stage wins with Lorena. Be was also doubling up with wins and other stages going to em indoors guard and lock northgard finished third overall and while The Young Riders classification, it blows my mind that she's young Rider. I feel like, because of her success, she's she's older than that, more experience than that Testament to her birthday. Capecchi finishing in second on GC and we had our first women's tour de Suisse and twenty years. With stage, one is Roux said, and the first Leader's. Jersey going to at least show a bulb. A I'm going to go with Chavez. I do prefer the shabby for our ponds, it's printing, Lizzy diagnosed the line to take her first professional when on-stage tree Was Won by Marta. Bastianelli, that's her first, when an 18 months with the overall when taken by Lizzie diagnose. And so those two doing it for the mums, doing it for themselves, of course, and their teams, but I can take some, some pledge, not all the same when we can barely brush, our hair of the morning, but it was really interesting stage. She because she'll be had crashed and Trek segafredo, then worked to take the bonus seconds on those Intermediate School of the eleven laps circuit. So diving and took the first Sprint. She started the day was it 4 seconds? I think behind Shelby she took the first Sprint, Shelby's team metal, Alexis Ryan took the second but Diamond was just behind them. Left her with one second in the lead, going into the finish line. So she was essentially defending her virtual lead which she did in a very, very welcome. First one of the season for it. Lizzy diagnosing, two more races choice, to ahead hostile, and one by Chantal, vandenbroek black and virus door divest hook, which is one by Lorena Vives. And after all of that annemiek van vleuten has the Women's World team leaders. Purple jersey, taking it from Elisa Longo borghini and there was a really interesting quote from her, I think was in cycling. You saying that she find it more important to be taking the leader's Jersey, then taking a race win because she said, it was, you know, it showed consistency and I quite like that and I feel like we've been trying to work out the, the status of the leader's Jersey since it was introduced. And I would love to see it, take on more importance like that, because, apart, from anything else, it gives us that narrative throughout the year, doesn't it? And I think it becomes dead. Easier for people outside cycling are newbies to the sport to understand that there's one leader through all of the races. I think it can be because it's such an unusual sport with the different classification of different races and you know, different importance of different teams. I think it's nice to have something that's consistent. I don't know. You guys know it's interesting because I remember when I was working on the Women's World Tour highlights, when they introduced having that, or they introduced the women's world tour package is, and introduce that Jersey and trying to be 16, wasn't it? I think, oh god. Well, my, my dates are not good, but yeah, we started Richard. I think you're right. Yeah, you're right. It would be found and it was very obviously, you know, your task by getting these pot really positive sounding quotes about the jersey and what it means and it's standing importance. And it was back, then it was absolutely totally impossible to get any Rider to say that they were bothered in the slightest, about wearing it or or getting it because you know what was more important with those individual wins. So it's it's amazing how it's How It Off. On, I think that that comes with any Jersey, it has to have a bit of history and past to, to have the prestige, to be something that people, you know, are concerned about and actually, won't want to. I wish it wage and kind of purply reddish color that just cuz you do kind of lose it, a little bit among all of the purple especially this. See, yeah, probably ready to go for these. I would go for, like, a name on green, maybe? Yeah, I'm, that's definitely. Yeah, it's got, he's got to go for something that is impossible, isn't it? Because you'd pick lime, and then next year, all the teams will have Lyme disease. So suddenly, the women's world tour package, has more meaning and coherence to the man's world pure, that's okay. Yeah, yeah. And more streamlined, isn't it? Yeah, I mean, there's no, I guess for writers. No substitute to crossing the line with your arms in their butt off winning, wearing the Jersey, it is a shame that it clashes with so many other team jerseys this year. And I'm not sure what color cuz I think it's quite a good color. It's just well, I mean could could they do Well, they do for the ground tears, and not not allowing teams to have predominantly purple and not allowing that Clash. That would make sense because all the teams will be changing. Their jerseys next year anyway, be quite easy to say. Do you know, you're not a lot of predominantly purple color because that's the most prestigious Jersey and the palette all of that if they want to sort of reinforce that narrative, I think is interesting. Also cuz obviously with the Dual rows of this year, isn't a woman's job at all race. But I've no doubt that people still because the, you know, the the malwiya Rosa, the DeRosa means so much people are still going to be going for that race. So I thought I think it's, yeah, it's a slightly, it's a, it's a jersey that has slightly a strange position, I think. But, you know, I'm glad that people kind of a respecting it more and more. And then when it's like, when it's like being then people will want to even more desperately have no doubt. Absolutely bring back the nineteen. Yeah. Well, in other news, Well, actually, there's one more race, of course because I have mentioned it and we'll be dead. Little bit more. But I have to confess, I didn't know much about unbind gravel, 200. And it's one of those that flooded my time line at the weekend and I suddenly thought this everybody has everybody known about this for a long time or is it a North American influence on my timeline? Or what was it? Or does everybody just suddenly jump on and say you know, get excited about it because everyone else says a brutal race as you say and it's something that needs to be hearing more about later in the show because I just say, taken by Lauren. Chris crescenzo, hope I got that, right? And we'll be hearing from her. In other news, a lot of capecchi Home, signed a three-year daily with SG Works leaving live racing. At the end of the year, what do you make of that? Is it a reward for her disappointing season? You know, this again wage? Well, I was surprised to see her paraded by her new team. So publicly like that, you know, very unusual for and leveling it. Yeah, very strange. Very strange. Just because, you know, normally these deals are a nice after August 1st, or not a nice but they, they slip out. And this idea I can't think of another case of a writer still writing for a team threats a year and being presented in in that sort of way by their new team for the following year. Really, really strange. I mean, you know, she'll be racing against SD works for both of the year with her years and it is loaded is still a lot of racing. Yeah. Huge. I find it very odd. Yeah, it's I'm kind of I mean it's it's a big big move isn't off because I mean, I think lots of capecchi, she's done very well at at being with live missing. The had a bit of disappointing but we weren't getting to change those Dynamics again. But yeah, I mean, I can't CSU Works going to be so powerful that I can't help but feel a little bit, feel slightly disappointed I guess that that song Talent. They are kind of becoming just. They've always been like, the, talent magnet obviously, but they really are sweeping up. The people who are good in every single plane. So it kind of I'm really enjoying this year where there is a little bit we've seen as USB very dominant, but you know, Trek segafredo have, you know, pushed them all the way and we've seen off the fdj and Dave and movie stars. Yeah. And we've seen all these other teams kind of raise their game. I guess my question is at what point did the scales get totally tip-off that, you know, you really do have all of the best kind of Talent on all the best kind of terrains and all the best styles of racing. That we just going to start seeing a SD, Works being totally.

"Oh my god. There's a giant hole on the ship. Why is there a giant hole in the ship. What do i do about the giant hole in the ship and oh great were not alone here. We're taking over. The ship is ours ours you. There's no planet euphoria this case alone. So yeah i i. I'm kind of like a lot of Slow realizations happening for our main character. I like the idea of maybe switching. Pov's to like say one of the Survivors of the smuggler ship. Who also happens to be in this doldrums area because the the the concept is what happens if you're going through faster than light and you encounter science fiction s. That causes the engine to keep on going the speed of light but the rest of the ship to drop. That is just kind of a little nugget. Play with then. Everything else is all character-driven nightclub and for the smuggler would all the suit would the smuggled in captain and the smugly ing. I made and the smugly chief. Medical officer also have been an who. Yes 'cause years. The thing al we all deal with the backstreet boys reunion to our our own little way and i don't think it's a coincidence that my mind right away went with what happens when there's a crisis and there's no steering direction happening Weird no way to any situation will not applicable at all. I always appreciate your ability to come up with these scenarios out of nowhere. Hey pep. I don't believe that Politics exists in sifi. I mean your. i know. We're having fun. But i will punch someone in the face. Alex closer ha and there are. These are space smugglers actual. Hobart guys are are they of the with smuggling in space and to bring them to clipping onto the people that your future society ignores say. What are you saying that the federation here was calm like confiscating critical life saving medicine. What then selling the private regularizations. Weird that san ray of sunlight at all yeah Here's here's my thinkin is you Are going to have to figure out how to either. Play with or play against how similar this is to both voyager end dire fly and also lower tax. And yup. well. That's not what you'd be where these exist and it caps you have to well i. I wouldn't mind you know like comparisons to because again. I'm almost picturing as far as the two ships and their mentality goes like that federation ship is lightly. You're poking fun of star trek the smuggler ship. If you're picturing it is going to be totally like like a star wars smuggler ship. You know. Chris star wars amazing but at the end of the day. They have to work together through. 'cause here's the big the neutral party because there are other ships in this area. They're all expand ships. You know so. They're all instead of annual million falcon centennial or penguin. Centennial penguin First of all. I would pay good fucking money to have. A ship called the centennial penguin. Just in fucking space. I have another question. Shoot vibe that you're going for is humor is this a played. Three is a farce. Not a farce of m- my target is at the end of the day. I won't have it. Be kind of light hopeful kind of thing does that make sense sure. You can have like hopeful with a murder mystery. Oh yeah you're john laura. What's your daughter or something are we going. Are we going more..

"So they're not a 100% sure how the one on el meda started that they do know where the point it did ignite that there's a dead body. Yes. That easily, here's a deal though. This is all basically stemming from the bike trail. Yes. Our bike trail, the green one called the greenway. It's a bike trail that runs from Ashland to basically pass such a point. Almost. A few years ago. A few years ago, there was a plan to extend that to grant's pass, which I think might eventually get there. The problem with this bike path and all bike paths is really as it becomes a place for homeless people. And a place for drugs. We've already had heads chopped off. That's the other thing, too. Just because we're some 150,000, 175,000 population city, which is not that big looking at a big city. We have big city murders on that fucking bike path. Samurai swords cutting people's heads off stuff like that. We've had suburb rapes and this goes back to the 70s and 60s and stuff like that. Before we had a lot of brush that was there, which really contributed to all that stuff. And now it's all especially now with all the fires. It's all cleared out. But even then, we still get homeless camps and a lot of drugs. There's nonetheless, there's a lot of, if they're homeless and they're staying down in this brush and by the river and stuff, they're going to make campfires and stuff. There's always high risks of starting fires on the trail, especially in summer. Bottom line is what I was getting out is they think that the dead body they found was probably a homeless person or someone that was sleeping or drunk or whatever. And if that person had something to do with the fire. They don't. Or yeah. So all that is going to have to take sifting through and time to get that real shit figured out.

"We'll fit in there. Let's start a little fire, little tin can. All right, so right now, as far as the garden, let's talk about that real quick. We just got finally got the greenhouse up this year. Yeah. Right before The Rain hits. And that's the thing. It should be tomorrow. That's the thing. I'm okay with that. I'm okay. The plants being out in the sun all year. I just don't want water to hit them. I mean, my sprayer, I don't really count that as water just because it's a mist. It's not like being pounded by storm. Now we really don't want water to hit him. We have ash on him. Well, yeah, and so there's a lot of ash on them. And the thing, okay, so a lot of this is going around people saying that, you know, okay, so ash and water mix turns to lie, which in the simplest sense of a description or whatever it does, it really does. But if you do a little bit more research to get that lie, you have to let the ash sit in the water. And it'll separate the ash will sink, the lie will float, and then you skim that off. So there's some stuff that goes on there that takes a lot more science than just water and Nash. Yeah, so you want to be careful when you're washing stuff off. Like you know, if you're going to if you got a lot of ash in your car, which around here should have wash wash. And your plants, you know, I don't take my advice on this. I don't see it hurting plants if it's not too ashy. 'cause you're not really letting the water sit on anything. What I would recommend is blowing them off first. And not just him. No, no, not with your mouth. Get a blower. Blow them off. And then move forward. I would be careful of maybe if you got a lot of ash on your soil maybe that might affect the PH, because lie or ash itself is pretty, it's high PH.

Nash
