"Pain was pay now for three years. You have or three now three. I wish i could have done that. You bet your. But i would have canceled that so many times over by like an and signed up again. I don't need to keep granted. They've been smart. I'll say this disney has been smart. They it's like it's it's almost like they've made it not worth it to cancel between their shows because like mandal. Orient ends amara show starts when that marvel shows starts stops. They've got like maybe like a three week breathing period before the next one starts up. They've been smart about how they're doing this and because they're not making it binge -able they can do that if this had been if there seven been bendable like i definitely would have been had i would have had time to cancel the by subscription in between so they've been very smart about how they're doing it and i hope there is something that allows me to renew again. Yeah and the one thing about the marvel shows and star wars specifically between everything they have these little vignette. Things like marvel has two things Marvel legends and assembling the the universe so assembling the universe on disney plus essentially behind the scenes of whatever shows so behind the scenes of wanda vision falcon in winter and loki. Legends is basically for anyone who has never seen any of the marvel movies like they can catch you up on wanda or vision or falcon or zemo or black widow or low key or the tesseract or whatever so they have these things for the for new not us new people that may not want to go back to two thousand and eight and watch iron man and i. I'm not saying. I'm not saying people shouldn't want to do that for me right now because i am i am and i'm all about continuity and how satelite the chronological order. I found a website because now that the infantry sagas done listed everything from phase one to phase three chronological order. So you start with first avenger. You go to captain. Marvel ironman ironman too. I still don't believe incredible. Hulk is included. But whatever. that's just my personal opinion and whatever else so i'm looking at phase three here specifically bring this up really quick to talk about black widow. Ernie's like wait. Black widow died in infinity. War between right right it takes place between civil war and infinity war so face three starts with civil war goes to black widow goes to homecoming strange panther ragnarok and then infinity war men in the wasp endgame and then far from home. I am perfectly fine watching black widow on its own. Now that i know where it fits into the universe once i actually have access to it. Non perfectly find waiting for it because it for me it brings up more of. Oh yeah i need to watch that. Even though they should have given her movie like after iron man to but whatever it was it was they couldn't because of contracts. I know so steve. We've kind of taken over your show. That's all right. It was a discussion though. Because it just means we'll do another one of these again soon. Same time same channel next week now. I don't know whatever i am game. Yeah i think. I think my wife rather have me do anything important night right now so i have never gotten into fortnight. So hey maybe that's one thing you you can hop on twitch in just kinda give me a walk through a fortnight but i've never been into the whole fortnight thing i don't know what it is. I just never paid attention to it and sounds good so with that. Thank you for joining us here. On altered geek as you can normally find us on radio dot com and on various pod catchers. This was before this was before. Cove it and yeah and we went in there and sat down. The theater was not only andrew staff but there was nobody there seeing a movie. I think we were the only two in the entire theater and so we just watched movie kicked back and relaxed like i mean. We just didn't worry about it but yeah it was just it was it was just. I don't know. I enjoy going to theater for the surround and the big screen and everything but i just don't enjoy going to the theater anymore really quick before mike goes. It's not about that but go ahead but it's no it's it but you are though because you're watching a movie on your phone and that's good enough for you. That's that's what i'm saying and that but and that's what the whole it was about the people i met the generation of people that would consume media any way that they could Down to like the lowest common denominator versus like people that only wanna watch a movie offer like a four k. Desk or only wanna listen to music off of vinyl and it was like at the. That's where the good enough generation comes from. Mp three's good enough. "It's just It's just incredible. When you really think about these things. And, uh, We were very fortunate to have Donald Trump for four years, and we should have had them for eight. And I'm all for all these audits. Why the Democrats so worried about them? Why do the media pretend they don't exist? Why shouldn't there be audits? They spent years chasing Russia collusion. They knew it was a lie. They were part of the conspiracy. This is why Biden and his party keep attacking the voting system keep attacking Republican states because they want to completely destroy the voting system and claim that they are Doing it on behalf of minorities, of course, because the Democrat party abuses and uses minorities all the time. That's why the border is a disaster. The people are suffering down there. And where are the media? They

"What was your god shot. Today mine was in the throne room in chapter six. There were two things stood out to me. I in verse one. We see that. Kizza deck remember him from way back in genesis fourteen is part of a royal priesthood where the royalty and the priests overlap. I love how scripture keeps reiterating that for us. I also loved something from verse six. That's where the saraf takes a burning coal from the altar and touches it to isaiah's lips to purify him first of all the word for alter is from the word. "Today we drop back in on isaiah. The major prophet who opens with a love poem to the people of israel and judah in the poem goddess compared to a vine keeper and the israelites are compared to wild greats. But in the hebrew the term is actually more like stinking things not so flattering and not exactly what god wants to grow. In his garden. So gob removes the protective hedge around the vineyard and the wild grapes are trampled. Then isaiah goes on to highlight six ways. The wild grapes are stinky and pronounces. Whoa over them burst. He denounces the greedy landowners. Who pushed the poor out of the land. God had established land allotment rules back in numbers chapters. Twenty six and thirty three so isaiah says their houses will become desolate. Second he speaks over. Those whose lavish lives of excess and drunkenness lead them away from honoring god instead of being filled. They'll be famished. And instead of eating they'll be swallowed by the grave. The remaining woes are strung together closely. Whoa number three spoken to people. Who mocked god and doubt his judgements coming. They seek out. Sin whoa number. Four is to the prideful fool with no discernment or integrity. The storting the truth. Whoa number five is for the arrogant and the final. Whoa whoa number. Six doubles down. On the drunkenness mentioned in whoa number two and adds to the fact that they also rob people of justice bursts twenty four tells us that these people have despised the word of god so god promises to send the nation's as judgment on them. Do you remember how. God used israel to drive out the wicked nations of canaan when they first entered the promised land and now he's using those nations to drive israel out of the same land because they've broken their covenant with him. Then we move onto isaiah six. Which is a stunning chapter. It's the prophets vision of god's throne room. I cannot imagine what it was like for him to have this vision. Put yourself in isaiah issues for a minute. Everything is going terribly with god's people and sometimes like in two nine year. Don't even want him to forgive them. For how terrible their acting. It's very natural response right. But if isaiah is going to be god's mouthpiece it's important for him not only to have a proper view of god but of himself in light of god yes. The israelites have been acting wickedly. But isaiah is a sinner in need of god's mercy to and this vision is god's way of reminding him of that he sees the outer fringes of god's glory he sees the six swing seraphim covering their eyes as they cry out. Holy holy holy repeating. This three times is a way of magnifying exponentially. Then there's an earthquake then there smoke and one of the seraphim puts a hot coal in his mouth and it burns away. All that is impure when confronted with god's holiness isaiah rightly sees his own impurity ease humbled. This was a necessary posture for isaiah. God commissions him for the task at hand. Strangely the task is to make sure the people don't repent. This reminds me of when god called moses to go meet with barrow and then said here's exactly what to say what to do when you get there. And by the way he's not going to listen god tells isaiah to rebuke a people who are not going to listen which only heaps more judgment on them. Isaiah is perplexed by this. As i'm sure most of us would be. God tells him that. Despite all the judgment and destruction there will be a remnant of his people. He will preserve this family that he has set his heart on from the beginning. This batch of stinking fruit while killing off all the wickedness that has set itself up against him in chapter seven. The southern kingdom of judah is in some potential military. Triple is this god's judgment what's going. On the people of israel whose kingdom was toppled by the assyrians have partnered with syria to take judas capital jerusalem. Judas as king has is nervous and is probably tended to make some foreign alliances at this point just to protect himself but isaiah gives instructions to trust god because god promises to deliver them then god speaks to king has and tells him to ask him for assign a has made a foreign alliance once before back in second king. Sixteen so god is giving him an opportunity to grow in faith but a has refuses. This may seem like a humboldt trusting response but it was actually defiant. So god says i'm giving you assign anyway then. God gives a sign that you probably recognize as the birth announcement for jesus but has doesn't know about jesus so we have to put ourselves in his shoes to see how he would have received this sign. What would he have thought of this. At the moment he's worried about being attacked by invading armies. And god's words here sound a bit like a timeline don't they. How long would it take a woman to get pregnant and deliver a child who would then be old enough to tell right from wrong. Seven sixteen says before this hypothetical boy would reach that age. The two nations a has beers will be desolate. So let's put a pin in a has for a second and cover. Something important about prophecy is the boy hypothetical or is he jesus yes. He's both for has who is receiving that prophecy in real time. The boy is hypothetical but for the grand scope of the timeline of all history. The boy is jesus. This shows us one of the really. Incredibly beautiful layered aspects of prophecy. God can speak present truths and eternal truths simultaneously and they aren't in conflict. They work in tandem in chapter eight. God tells us to go get a whiteboard and write something down. The message is maher shahal. Hush buzz which means spoil speeds pray hastens or in layman's terms. Things are about to get back around this time. A woman who is probably as his wife gets pregnant and god tells him to name the sun mahara shalal hash baas but he can't find that on any keychains but oh well that's just one less souvenir to lose because judah is about to get destroyed and god tells isaiah in the midst of all this impending doom at he should remain unshaken. It's going to be terrible. God says but he shouldn't be your what everyone else fears..

"Today. Israel goes to war with one of their most well-known enemies the philistines israel loses and they attribute the loss to god but instead of consulting him to find out where they went wrong. They decide that what they need is. The ark of the covenant. They think it will act like a lucky charm for them so they go to shiloh. To retrieve it hoffman. Finneas allies. Wicked sons helped. Carry it off to battle then. Israel loses this battle to along with thirty thousand men allies. Back home at shiloh. When a messenger comes to tell him everything. We lost the battle. Your sons are dead and the ark has been captured. Eli new his sons. Were going to die on the same day because this was prophesied to him and what we read yesterday. So while that's heartbreaking. It comes as no surprise however having the arc stolen was an unexpected tragedy for the entire nation of israel. This was by far the most significant loss of all. When eli heard that but of news he fell over. Broke his neck and died. Meanwhile allies grandson knickebocker is about to be born. His father has just died in battle and then his mother dies in childbirth back at the battlefield. The philistines believed they've defeated. Y'all way since they've captured what they think is him. They've conflated god with the golden box that serves us his earthly throne. They put the arc in their pagan temple alongside the god. They worshiped day gone. So ya does something. That is both humorous and weighty he knocks the statue of day gun face down in front of the art in a posture of worship. The philippines set day. Gone back up again and the next day not only is day gun prostrate in front of the arc again but the hands and head of the statue of day on have been severed and are set in the entryway which makes it clear that they didn't just break off. During the fall y'all way continues to afflict the philistines. There are five main philistine cities and they keep moving the arc around from city to city but no matter where they take it. The people of that city are afflicted with tumors and some die. Commentators can't agree on what the tumors were about ideas range from the bouba plague to some kind of s. td to him royds or seven months. This continues the philistines are so distraught that they want to send the arc back to israel so they consult with their own priests and diviners to find out how to go about this. The priest tell them to send a guilt offering along with the art to appease the israelite. God the guilt offering should be five to one for every city and felicita and five golden mice because god struck the five cities with a mouse. Infestation that ravaged their land and crops. The text isn't really clear on that. The priest also gave instructions to build a cart for the arc and have that cart pulled by to milk. Cows why milk cows because they're untrained and they have calves to feed and their natural instincts mean they're going to go home to their calves but if these milk cows go against their natural instincts in something supernatural is taking place and the god of israel must be in charge of all the tapping and felicita. And wouldn't you know it. The cows go straight off into the distance when the cows and the ark arrive at beth shemesh which is in judah the israelites who see it. Offer the milk cows as a burnt offering to the lord. This sounds awesome except that leviticus one specifies that only male animals are supposed to be used for offerings on top of that there are seventy people who look at the art which also violates god's law to shield the art from view in numbers four so god strikes. Down the levi. It's who were there should have known these things. Either they know and they're ignoring it or they're ignorant of god's laws altogether but as we've learned even unintentional sin is a sin if you think god's being too harsh about the punishment he doles out here most governments operate that way to for instance just because i'm not intentionally speeding or don't know what the speed limit is doesn't mean. I don't get a speeding ticket. All this terrifies the people best mesh and they ask their neighbors and curious jerem to come take the art away. The people of curious jerem keep the art. For twenty years the fact that it doesn't get returned to the tabernacle and shiloh suggests that shiloh has probably been destroyed by the philistines are likely ruling over israel at this point as they often do when they're being oppressed the people of israel begin to repent. Didn't we hear from samuel for the first time in a long time and by now he is viewed as the chief leader of all of israel is their prophet priest and judge the encourages the israelites to make their appendi- complete and faithfully worship god alone. He says the result will be that god will deliver them from the philistines. Who are still a thorn in their side. Which as you may recall was exactly what god said would happen. If they didn't drive them out of the land they all meet up at ms Fast and pray to make sacrifices and demonstrate their repentance in the middle of their worship service the philistines draw near to attack and israel is afraid. The enemy loves to attack when we're moving toward obedience. Despite israel shaky faith god gives them victory over the philistines samuel sets up a stone memorial. There calls it ebeneezer which means best far. The lord has helped me. If you've ever heard the song come now found you may have wondered what the line means that says here i raise my ebeneezer ear by great help. I've come if so now you and not only does israel defeat the philistines but they have internal and external peace for years to come samuel makes regular trips to the local cities to make sure everything is running. According to god's commands but to people who aren't obeying god are his sons joel and abida emea setup as judges in the land and their actual judges like we think of them who preside over cases and they take bribes and disregard justice. The people go to samuel to let him know that things are about to go off the rails. If he doesn't do something he's old him will probably die soon. And his sons are not fit to lead israel so the people request a king instead like all the other nations have got has made provision for a king but he hadn't called for it and samuel knows this when the people request to king it may feel like personal of samuel's family as leaders but god says it's really a rejection of him still. God says to give the people what they want. This reminds me of when they ask for quail in the wilderness. Because god says this is not going to go. Well that king is going to go. Against god's commands in deuteronomy seventeen and the people are to cry out to god for help and he won't send it but israel doesn't heed samuels warning. What was your god. Shot in the midst of these five chapters. How did you see more of who god is. Today i spent a lot of time thinking about how god has set this nation apart to be different so that the other nations would recognize god's glory and how in the very moments when that starts to happen. Israel doesn't want to honor him. they want a different plan. The philistines recognized his power but the people of best shemesh disobey god and instead of repenting they send the arc away the arc. I was so mad at them. Then there's peace in the land but they have to corrupt judges so instead of replacing them with godly judges. They asked for a king so they can be like all the other nations. They keep rejecting the very thing that makes them unique. And god says that's a rejection of him. He is their identity. Seeing this about god gives me pause. Where do i reject what he has called me to be for his glory. Because i want to fit in or be respected. Where does fear of man drive me. More than love of god. I know this truth. And i want it to inform.

Today twenty years Eli five cities yesterday seventy people joel five chapters shiloh thirty thousand men five Israel seventeen five golden mice first time beth shemesh both samuel philippines one

"To be fully prepared. In god's economy preparing for battle has very little to do with sharpening your weapons. It has everything to do with preparing your heart. He wants to make sure their hearts are surrendered to him at aligned with his own heart before they go face the enemy the first thing they have to do is circumcise all the israelite males that allow them time to recover after every meal a circumcised. They celebrate passover. The timing of this is beautiful. It's kind of second exodus. Exactly forty years. After the first one their hearts need to celebrate passover because it will reinforce their faith it serves as a reminder to them that god has protected and provided for them through the years then in five twelve we get a little sentence that speaks volumes. It says the man ceased on the day after they ate the produce of the land. What this is incredible. This is god's precise provisions on display. He gave them miracle foods six days a week for forty years and the mana even follows them into the promised land but then it stops on the day after they have access to the local food. There are no gaps in god's provision next joshua has a strange encounter with a man holding a sword. Obviously this could be super scary. Given the fact that they're in enemy territory so joshua wants to know if this man is an israelite that he just doesn't happen to recognize or if he's a canaanite and the men basically says guess again. I'm god how do we know he's got first of all he receives joshua's worship god's elect angels don't allow people to worship them. They reject it because they know they don't deserve it second. The angel of galway also tells joshua to take off his shoes just like god told moses to do when he appeared in the burning bush because he was standing on holy ground. The presence of angels doesn't make things holy only. God can do that in this conversation. Many people suggest that god is refusing to take sides in the battle. Since god doesn't give joshua a straight answer but we know from the surrounding texts that god has aligned himself with the israelites. So what's going on here. God's replied to joshua suggests more that israel is on his side than that he is on israel side. Meanwhile jericho is shook. They probably know what's coming. This terrifying army is camped outside their city so they hole up in their houses. God tells joshua that jericho is there for the taking because he's giving it to them but he s some super weird instructions on how to accomplish. This don't march around it carrying the ark. Once a day for six days seven priests blow trumpets then on the seventy the march around seven times and on that seventh trip all the people will shout and then the walls will fall and they'll have an opening to go inside and devote everything to destruction everything except for rahab and her family joshua tells the two spies who met her that they're in charge of saving her and it all happens just like god commanded defeated co with exactly zero military strategy just by trusting and obeying god's weird commands joshua pronounced a curse on anyone who rebuilds jericho so heads up. It's been rebuilt. We'll get to that later but just remember this curse. Another thing joshua emphasized before they took the land was that the israelite soldiers aren't allowed to take any plunder for themselves and he plundered they take supposed to be set apart and devoted to god. Kind of like i roots offering from their first conquest in the promised land. So bad news. A guy named achim secretly took some stuff for himself. Some commentators estimate the value of the stuff to be approximately the amount. A worker would earn his entire life. Meanwhile joshua makes a classic leadership mistake. He's probably overconfident from their defeat of jericho forgetting that they won. Because they walked in obedience to god's commands so he sends his people to go take over another city but without consulting. God i so the israelites. Go to take over the city of i- and not only did the israelites. Lose but about thirty. Six men died in the process. Joshua has become with grief and he begins to doubt. God thinking god had betrayed them. The appeals to god and much the same way moses used to when they were in trouble but god points the finger back at the israelites. All of them. Since god use the israelites as a unit one man sin has impacted. The whole aken is personally responsible for his spiritual adultery but the whole community is affected. God is angry at them and he tells joshua how to deal with the guilty party. And since atkinson represent spiritual adultery against god not just deaf. It requires the death penalty the next morning. God's supernatural identifies aitken from the tribe of judah as the man who has committed the sin even though aken is from the most esteemed tribe. He's rejected from the people of israel because his heart isn't devoted to god. This is important. We're already seeing through the rescue of rahab the canaanite and the rejection of ache in the israelite that being a part of god's people the israelites as nothing to do with race or jeans and everything to do with your heart. Those whose hearts are devoted to ya are welcomed into his family even if they're strangers and foreigners and those whose hearts reject y'all way even if they're israelites by birth are not counted among his people. God's family is made up of people with new hearts not similar dna. Agan and his family are stone for his adultery and because deuteronomy twenty four sixteen tells us that children aren't to be put to death for their father's sins. It seems to indicate that his family may have played a role in sin or in concealing it. God takes stuff seriously. After all this happens god commands into try again at defeating. I because this time they'll win. And this time he says they can take the plunder. How ironic is that aken. If only he had waited. Using a clever military strategy they defeat the city keep its livestock and plunder for themselves. Then set it on fire and again. It's important for us to remember that when they destroy these cities. It's serving the purpose of god's judgement on its inhabitants for their wickedness as well as providing the promised land for the israelites. After the battle joshua builds an altar to god and follows the instructions guide gave them back in deuteronomy eleven speaking the curses for mount evil and the blessings for mount gerizim then joshua renews the covenant with the people by reading it to them allowed be covered a lot of ground today. So where did you see your god shot. Mine was as they were taking their first six trips around the city of jericho that get up make their circle a few of them would blow and trumpets than that go back to their camp and do it all over again the next day all this walking around seems like such a waste of time. If i were in that army i would probably be like. What is the point of this. We're accomplishing nothing. Maybe if we're honest we feel like that somedays in our reading plan or in prayer or in sabbath or fill in the blank. But god's doing something sometimes what god does in our hearts through obedience is beyond our capacity to understand. Sometimes he's teaching us to trust for the outcome instead of trying to achieve it on our own. He is at work even on the so-called nothing days when obedience feels like we're just walking in circles. You've probably already seen evidence. That your obedience to him is him at work in your life drawing you nearer to him. It's the best place to be even when we don't fully understand because he's wear the joy is did your podcast low today of course not. You're listening to it right now. Democrats unveil immigration plan with 8-year pathway to citizenship

"Congressional Democrats today introducing a bill to remake the U. S immigration system. It's called the U. S. Citizenship Citizenship Act of 2021, unveiled by Senator Bob Menendez, Democrat of New Jersey, and California Democratic representative Linda Sanchez, among the highlights that includes an eight year pathway to citizenship for those people in the country unlawfully. If they arrived by January, 1st of this year. It would also lift hurdles for those workers to legally immigrate to the United States as well. Azad financial resources to border screening and replace the word alien with non citizen in law. Senator Menendez, announcing details during a zoom called earlier today. Under the status quo. We still prevent family members from reuniting legally in the United States because of lengthy backlogs and delays. We still send graduates educated in our great universities back to their home countries, instead of allowing them to drive innovation here in America, and we still make it too hard for companies to hire the workers they need to innovate and force American workers to compete. With exploited undocumented labor. That's why we today collectively are introducing the U. S. Citizenship Act in the Senate in the House legislation that brings to life President Biden's plan to restore humanity and American values to our immigration system. It's our vision. It's our vision off what immigration reform should Look like and it's a bill we can all be proud of. It will modernize our system or for a path to citizenship for hardworking people in our communities, reunite families, increase opportunities for legal immigration and ensure America remains the powerhouse for innovation and a beacon of hope to refugees around the world. I can tell you is the chairman of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee. But I must say that beyond enhancing security and improving management of the southern border, our legislation also finally addresses the push factors forcing so many families to flee Central America in the first place. Transnational crime, violence, corruption, poverty, lawlessness, the prior administrations. Naive fixation on the wall failed to alleviate these horrific conditions. We must address the Underlying root causes driving migration and create safer processes for those in danger to apply for asylum. That's how we stop ourselves from winding up in the exact same place down the road, and that's what this bill does. Now there are some in Congress, I'll say from both parties who argue against going big on immigration reform. Some still believe the answer lies and blocking all legal channels of our immigration system until we get our house in order. Others say we should leave the bigger, tougher questions for another day, pursuing narrow reforms that nibble at the edges and leave millions of people behind. Personally, I couldn't disagree more with both approaches. That from Senator Bob Menendez, Democrat from New Jersey, the chair of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee. The bill does have the support of President Biden issue his statement earlier today, available on the White House

"8 year" Discussed on The Dave Ramsey Show

"John thank you very much thank you. How can we all So my parents got divorced about fifteen years ago since then my mom has been paying for a whole life policy insurance plan on my father. She's done paying for it. She's offered to kind of transfer it to me. It's one hundred thousand dollar policy. There's fifty five hundred dollars cash value at this moment And i believe the annual premiums about three thousand dollars not sure what to do. Why would you do this My wife and i were talking about it. And if we he's seventy four years old so i realize it's kind of like shorting a stock and talking about the life on my father but I if we only were quote unquote invest five or ten or fifteen thousand dollars into it to get a hundred in the end Seems like it might be an okay. Idea won't be if he lives. Twenty years that's true houses health. If we're just going to get cold and short your dad hear seventy four. He's had for about thirty years. Double bypass heart surgery. Or we're not that close. I hope so. Matt my father buddy. I'm not that close and you would become the beneficiary. I currently the beneficiary. Oh you i would. Yeah but she's my mother's has decided to stop paying so she's offering for me to continue me and my wife or Just take the cash value now and and do something. Okay well you know. The thing about personal finance is it involves more than just mathematical analysis. We have to consider emotions and relationships and conscience and morality and behavior all of those things into a wise answer to your question. Mathematically i think you might come out but you really wanna do that. I don't. I don't wanna do that. Yeah i mean we're joking around a little bit of being a little bit sarcastic about it. You shorten your dad or whatever that kind of thing. But i you know i don't i don't i don't want i'm seventy five years old and i'm on my deathbed i want. I want that going across my mind. That i did that. I don't think you're doing anything morally wrong. It's just weird. Would you agree yeah. I think that's why we're having down a little bit of it. Feels weird about it. It feels weird. You know why it feels weird. Because it's weird and mike what you're going to start doing in your alley been married eight years okay. So you're still in a young marriage which you're gonna start doing union wife. We're going to start counting this hundred thousand dollars. You're gonna start leaning into one hundred thousand dollars. Well we can get this kind of house or we cannot deal with this or you're gonna start making life decisions as though this is a sure thing and what happens is it's gonna further press on that relationship with your dad and i get that it. I said i get that. The math may work out. You may make some money on this deal. And he said he didn't have much of a relationship with him but it's the same. I don't want i don't i i just i. I wouldn't do it and it has nothing to do with the math. I wouldn't either on the same way. I just did. I think you might win the math argument but i I think you're at the end of the. I don't think at the end of your life. You're going to be proud now with my dad came to me and said i've had this No still no. I just don't want short my dad no i generally. It's just straight up what we're doing here and it's just whether you like him or whether you don't i mean maybe unspoken to him thirty years i don't know but it doesn't matter that's not the it's i'm not. I'm not going to attach on shorter stranger now. I wouldn't do it. That's what i'm saying. But again i might if my dad came to me and said hey how the scheme forest but me and my dad. He's all homicide detective death wrong. Your dad store okay. Yeah you can't short your home man. Even if you don't like him in fact i would say especially if you don't like him man you once you start leaning into spending that money it's hard to come back from. You can do it if you want. But you call us and asked and again the answer here is based on the whatever scarring that this event does to your conscience. That's causing to ask the question in this league scar and i don't want that scar in your spirit eleven. That's what i'm trying to avoid. Dalton is with us in waco. Texas dalton. How are you. I'm doing pretty still better than i deserve. How can we got a pretty interesting situation here. my wife and i was doing when did financial peace and we were doing pretty well. We paid off a little over thirty grand a year. Good and now my My career situation my career but my job is changed instead of working a consistent schedule. Basically what i do is i go where where needed Different nursing homes so essentially. I don't have a steady consistent Income you know You know. I might make a thousand one week. I might make less another so the issue. We're trying to figure out. Is how to go about getting our budget back on track. Did your overall income go up or down. It's hard to say because this is the brand new thing. I've only been doing this for a couple of weeks. What do you think I think it has the potential to either stay the same or go down. Because i'm also going back to school so my days are limited. Why are you going to school. If you got financial problems well. I was furthering. My nursing is what i was doing. But you weren't doing that before when you're paying off debt now you added a variable of the situation after you lost the stability of your income. Why well frankly. I've been a An lvn for over seven years. now. And i I'm really chasing trying to push to get the bachelor's for nursing to get into a hospital and be great. Get out of debt. That's that's a good thought to nothing changed here except you decided to go back to school at the exact time. You'd income became unstable bad choice. So i'd probably put off the school a little bit. And let's get this mess cleaned up. I as far as how to handle the irregular income. Just run your what you think you're low average is going to be and then make a list of things you want to do with money when you come in with more money than you thought and so if you think it's going to be an average of about a thousand run your run your debt.

Arizonans 65 and older will be eligible for the COVID-19 vaccine starting next week

"This hour we took you live to the Arizona Department of Health Services Update on the covert 19 vaccine distribution. We had some technical difficulties, but we have those resolved and we want to bring you now. The rest of that briefing with all the details. Here's Dr Carol Chris, director of our State Health department. So now provide some updates on covert 19 vaccine and implementation of our program here in Arizona. One of the exciting updates that we made today. It is not this week that is not reflected on our chart. It will not be reflected until Tuesday, but Arizona made the decision that Arizonans 65 8 years of age and older are now prioritized. To be vaccinated against covert 19 in our prioritized phase one be along with our education and child care services and our protective services occupations, which includes law enforcement, corrections and fire. This recommendation was approved by the Arizona Vaccine and Antiviral Prioritization Advisory Committee, which is intended to protect those who are most at risk for severe outcomes due to Cove in 19. So we know that those there are over the age of 65 have all higher likelihood of hospitalization and death, and by be getting people vaccinated in several weeks from now we hope to reduce the strain on Arizona's hospitals. And you can find additional information on our website at easy Health. Doc Dub slash find vaccine. And on Tuesday, we will be updating that to provide clarity about which counties are going to be vaccinated the 65 to 74 year old age group at their vaccination sites. We also have counties that have moved into our prioritized. Phase one B and we have some that are fully in phase one B. So if you look at the map of Arizona, the counties that Aaron Black are still in phase one A. So does our healthcare providers and our long term care facility, residents and staff. When you look at our darker gray, that's the prioritized phase one be, so that's going to be the face that we just talked about. Currently. We are vaccinating age 75 older. Along with educators and child care and their support staff and our protective services occupations. When we increase to one be that also includes our Sent can keep our society functioning. That will be people who work in the transportation industry, including gas stations, shipping those types of things. The food industry, including agriculture. S so there's a large number of there's a large list of employees that are eligible for the one B category that is located on our website. Um But you can find out what what phase Each county is in, and we update this infographic daily, and you can link to it off of easy health. Doc Club slash find a vaccine. As of today, over 232,000 doses of vaccine have been administered statewide. So now we'll move into Arizona's vaccine allocation and administration. Over the next few weeks, A DHS will be working to increase access to vaccine increase the rate of vaccination into streamline communications. So as you look at the vaccine, I'm distribution overview. Arizona currently follows a local Allocator model for vaccine distribution. Our local part partners are the backbone of the vaccine program implementation and know their counties that are no they're partners and their counties the best so our federal partners every week provide our Arizona's allocation to the state. We divide that allocation of based on priorities to our local partners, who then will determine which providers in their local jurisdiction will receive that scene for that week. We collect all of those orders on Ben. We place Arizona's full order for that week, and then the federal government will ship those orders directly to the providers that we have ordered on behalf of as vaccine becomes more and more available. We will no longer need to use this local Allocator model and providers such as pharmacies, community health centers and physician's offices will be able just to directly order vaccine from the manufacturers. So this week we received additional first dose allocations of Fizer, which were distributed again. Toe America and Pima County's All 15 counties received Madonna doses, and so we continued to reserve given the unique storage requirements for our Fizer vaccine. We continue to reserve our Majority vaccine for our local or rural health departments. Um In addition to receiving that first those first doses of visor and Madonna vaccine we have received our second doses so that we can continue vaccinating those that I've already received their first US. And have had that either 21 or 28 Day waiting period. This is Dr Cara Chris State Health director, speaking at the Health Department's covert 19 vaccination rollout. Press briefing on Katie Our news 92 3 FM. So during the week of January, 18th Arizona will have been allocated 803,150 doses total. You can see how that's been allocated across the state. You can see at the bottom where we have prioritized our CDC Long term care facility partnership by providing them with the vaccine that they need to vaccinate our Our staff and residents that are long term care facilities. And then you can also see the number of doses that have gone to the state of Arizona. Um Not all of these doses of the 803 have arrived in Arizona. A number of these doses have been allocated to, um Have been ordered for our county partners and will arrive next week. They We anticipate that with the federal holiday. Usually they arrive Monday through Wednesday. We anticipate that they will arrive Tuesday through Friday of next week. So we continue to add additional sites for vaccine administration, So we have initial phase one and phase one B vaccination sites throughout the state. We have over 200 vaccination sites on our website. We also have activated the second phase of the CDC pharmacy partnership, which began the week of December. 27th. So we initially prioritized in phase one of that partnership are skilled nursing facilities, which are highest security, long term care facilities. Um As of the end of this week, all of those facilities will have had at least their first visit from CVS or Walgreen's, and they are scheduling appointments to start assisted living facilities throughout the state next week. So as additional state. Um uh, that scene becomes available, We will be adding additional providers we've had over 730 providers on bordered with a DHS and over 800 pharmacies statewide have enrolled in the CDC pharmacy program to provide in store vaccinations. We have talked on each week about the long term care partnership that CDC put together with our pharmacy partners. So our pharmacy partners code into the facility's and vaccinate the staff and residents of that facility. Um as of this week over 140 skilled nursing facilities scheduled to receive vaccinations, and they will begin vaccinating are assisted living and our group homes starting next week. We've got over 2000 facilities enrolled in the federal program where one of the states with the highest number of facilities enrolled, and our goal is to cover approximately 450,000 residents and staff over the next couple of months. So this is part of the infographic that we post each day on our website. If you look you can see by county what phase That county is currently vaccinating. The total vaccines and ministered along with the vaccination rate per 100,000. And so you can see statewide 232,000 vaccines have been administered. Um, This may not include some of the doses that are provided by our tribal Our federal partners is this is pulled out of the States Immunization registry. So to talk about updates and announcements of this week. On Monday, we had a soft launch of the State Farm Stadium Probate 19 vaccination site. So far we've administered over 20,000 vaccinations at that site, and we are averaging apart between 203 100 vaccinations per hour. We have booked tens of thousands of appointments through January 31st and anticipate opening up additional appointments. That will be between February 1st and February 28th. Those appointments will open up on January 19th at 9 A.m.. We're very excited. Because our partners have really made this endeavor possible. It's a whole community partnership. And again, we just want to thank the Department of Emergency and Military Affairs, the Arizona Cardinals and state from Stadium Blue Cross Blue Shield of Arizona, The Catherine and Ben I. V Foundation. Arizona State University and Walgreens. All of these, these groups are playing a large role at the site on D have made this possible. Way also are very excited about the launch of our second state run of vaccinations site. This will be located at Phoenix Municipal Stadium. We are still looking to see how many doses we will have available for that. For that site, so the number of appointments will depend on the available vaccine again. We're partnering with the Arizona Department of Emergency and Military Affairs and Arizona State University to run this site. Arizona State University currently runs a testing a saliva based testing site at this location and so they will scale up to provide vaccination administration. Again. Registrations for appointments are going to open up Tuesday, January 19th at 9 A.m. for this site. We updated our easy health. Dr. Hobbes Flash find vaccine website with an interactive map. You can go onto the map. It has all of the current locations with vaccine, you can select a sight and a box will pop up that has information about that site and a link to their registration. So not all of them. Not all vaccine providers are utilizing the state's vaccine management system. Some providers air using their own appointments software, but we will link to them whenever we have that information so that it's one stop shopping when you go to our our map. We will continue to update this map with additional vaccination sites as they come. In a couple of other exciting announcements, we have been expanding access. So a DHS activated the CDC retail pharmacy program. This is going to add up to 100 pharmacy stores over the next few weeks. The first pharmacies to come on board in Arizona are gonna be fries, Safeway and Albertsons. And so those will be included on our sites as we get notified, which pharmacies which specific pharmacy locations will have that scene? But they will be on our website and will be another source for those that are eligible to receive vaccine to go get vaccinated when this program becomes fully activated, more than 800 pharmacies will have covert 19 vaccine available in Arizona. We currently have more than 200 vaccination sites on our website that have received vaccine and this includes 45 community health centers as well. So if you are eligible and you receive care at one of our community health centers You could check on our website to see if they have received vaccine. And again just another update on helping our Arizona hospitals. We have been recruiting nurses with a nursing staffing contract here in the state. That's been one of our most successful endeavors. We are very excited. The majority of the nurses are here. When they arrive. They will stay on site for eight weeks with an opportunity to extend that On gesso. As of last week. 348 nurses have started work. We anticipated almost 200 more arriving this week again that We don't necessarily count them until we've heard that they have Arrived in the state and are attending on boarding at their assigned hospital. But we continue to work with our staffing contract to get all of the nurses that we can here in. Arizona State health director Dr Cara Crist went with her press briefing on covert 19 vaccine rollout that coming from the state Health Department. Go

"If you're in <Speech_Female> <Advertisement> prison you're depended <Speech_Female> on your friends and family <Speech_Female> to bring you anything <Silence> you need to survive. <Speech_Female> You do not <Speech_Female> want to be put in <Speech_Female> a roman prison in the first <Speech_Female> century. Try <Silence> to avoid it. If you can <Speech_Female> <Advertisement> remember <Speech_Female> the seven men the church <Speech_Female> <Advertisement> appointed to care for the widows <Speech_Female> steven <Speech_Female> one of them and another <Silence> one was a guy named philip. <Speech_Female> When <Speech_Female> phillip leased jerusalem. <Speech_Female> He goes to samaria <Speech_Female> <Advertisement> which is a three <Speech_Female> day trip north <Speech_Female> of jerusalem. Roughly <Silence> seventy miles. <Speech_Female> Jesus <Speech_Female> commanded the gospel <Speech_Female> to go to samaria. <Speech_Female> Even though the jews and samaritans <Silence> <Advertisement> aren't fond of <Speech_Female> <Advertisement> each other <Speech_Female> when phillip arrives he <Speech_Female> <Advertisement> starts preaching and performing <Speech_Female> <Advertisement> signs and wonders <Speech_Female> and people begin <Speech_Female> to believe <Speech_Female> when word reaches <Speech_Female> jerusalem about this samaritans <Speech_Female> repenting. <Speech_Female> They send peter <Speech_Female> and john to make sure everything's <Speech_Female> going smoothly <Speech_Female> when they get <Speech_Female> there. They realize these <Speech_Female> people have been baptized with <Speech_Female> water. But they <Speech_Female> haven't been baptized into <Silence> the spirit of god yet. <Speech_Female> Different <Speech_Female> churches hold <Speech_Female> different positions on this. <Speech_Female> Some say the <Speech_Female> baptism of the holy <Speech_Female> spirit is different <Speech_Female> from being in dwelled <Speech_Female> by the holy spirit. <Speech_Female> Others say they're <Speech_Female> the same thing that <Speech_Female> these people clearly hadn't <Speech_Female> had an actual conversion <Speech_Female> experience yet <Speech_Female> the just been dunked in <Speech_Female> water which doesn't amount <Speech_Female> to anything without <Speech_Female> god's spirit being <Speech_Female> the active agent <Silence> in that process <Speech_Female> and still <Speech_Female> others say that because <Speech_Female> of the way the jews and <Speech_Female> samaritans dislike <Speech_Female> each other. It's <Speech_Female> important for the apostles <Speech_Female> to see with <Speech_Female> their own is that <Speech_Female> the spirit is actively <Speech_Female> working in the samaritans <Speech_Female> otherwise <Speech_Female> they might be tempted <Speech_Female> to dismiss it. <Speech_Female> So the holy <Speech_Female> spirit verifies this <Speech_Female> experience <Speech_Female> showing the apostles <Speech_Female> that the god of the jews <Speech_Female> is also <Silence> the god the samaritans <Speech_Female> <Speech_Female> regardless of which <Speech_Female> it is. The samaritans <Speech_Female> are welcomed into <Speech_Female> the family of god. <Speech_Female> The apostles <Speech_Female> power and the message <Speech_Female> <Advertisement> catches the attention of <Silence> <Advertisement> a magician named simon. <Speech_Female> <Advertisement> The <Speech_Female> <Advertisement> kind of magic. Simon <Speech_Female> practices might <Speech_Female> be done through demonic <Silence> power and intervention. <Speech_Female> He <Speech_Female> notices the difference <Speech_Female> between his magic. <Speech_Male> And god's miracles <Speech_Female> and he's <Speech_Female> hooked but <Speech_Female> it seems like he wants <Speech_Female> power more <Speech_Female> than he wants to surrender. <Speech_Female> <Advertisement> This <Silence> <Advertisement> is not square. One <Speech_Female> <Advertisement> trying <Speech_Female> to access the power <Speech_Female> of god and not. <Speech_Female> The person of god <Speech_Female> is selfish. <Silence>

"Hey bible readers. I'm barely kabul. And i'm your host for the bible recap yesterday where we left off. Stephen had been falsely accused by a group of jews from another synagogue. That doesn't recognize. Jesus as messiah today as he standing before the san hadrian there the ruling council. That's kind of like the supreme court. They given the opportunity to defend himself. But stephen kind of answers questions the same way. Jesus does meaning. He doesn't give you the information you ask for. He gives you the information you need to know. Stephen talks for a longtime and doesn't manage to say a single thing about himself in fifty three verses he just gives a synopsis of the old testament story. Line as it relates to the gospel. If you you're with us in the old testament it was probably nice to have a refresher. But if you weren't here's the overarching. Storyline stephen presents. God keeps pursuing his people as people keep rejecting him they reject and persecute and kill the profits. He sends to speak truth to them. Most recently stephen says they've killed the right just one. All the prophets were prophesying about as he recounts all the horrible ways. Gods people have acted in the past. They probably recognize evil actions of their forefathers. They probably resonate with what he's saying. But they may not realize. He's building to a crescendo. Where the greatest burden of wickedness is the one. These very people are legally responsible for the most recent way the people have rejected. God's pursuit is by killing not just his prophets but his son their furious of course filled with rage. Stephen on the other hand is filled with the holy spirit and seems to be shockingly at peace. I imagine his face lighting up as god peels back the curtain of eternity and give stephen a glimpse into heaven. It's almost like stephen concede the opening credits rolling. And he knows this is the beginning of it. All he sees heaven opened and jesus standing at the right hand of the father standing. Did you catch that. Most of scripture tells us jesus is seated at the right hand of the father. So why is he standing here. My eyes filled with tears whenever i read. Those verses says it twice lots of scholars say this points to jesus rising up to be. Stevens advocate to testify before the great judge on his behalf. Some say he standing to greet and welcome. Stephen into the afterlife. I don't know i just know it. So beautiful even after all his work is finished. Jesus hasn't tuned out. He's paying attention. He's involved and engaged. He's praying for us according to romans eight. And he's us on. Stephen tells the san hadrian what is but they scream at him and lunch to.

"Which would take a few days on. When it comes time to pack up and head to Jerusalem his brothers try to convince him that he should publicly demonstrate his powers in front of all the people who in town for the holiday but their words are almost certainly mocking him because verse five says they don't believe in him in verse seven Jesus Confirms. That they're part of the world not the kingdom. Here's how we know this. He says the. World can't hate them those who don't believe in and submit to Christ belong to the world and the world doesn't hate itself Jesus addresses this idea of the world's love and hatred again in John. Fifteen and it helps us understand this quote better. This must have been really hard for Jesus to have his own family rejecting him. He tells them he's not going and the Greek phrase used often includes the word. Yet, meaning, he's not going right now with them. He goes later without his disciples into probably because having an entourage would attract more attention he's still trying to stay low profile in certain settings because the last time he was in town when he healed the lay man at the polls, a Thursday on the Sabbath the Pharisees wanted to kill him he eventually goes to the week long feast and starts teaching in. The temple typically only the educated rabbis would do that and they would probably frown on anyone who tries to teach without being educated but no, one can deny that educated or not Jesus is knowledgeable. He knows stuff and they're amazed not only at what he knows but a how he could possibly know it. It would be like if Kim Jennings from the jeopardy hall of fame announced that he's a high school dropout. Astonished. Jesus basically says the reason I know all this stuff is because I speak with God's authority, which is why it's completely irrational that you're trying to kill me and they're like Oh. Okay. Sure. is now a good time to talk to you about the fact that you have a demon Jesus insult slide and just throws out more logic. He says, you guys circumcised babies on the eighth day even if that happens to be the sabbath and everyone's fine with. So then why the double standard why am I not allowed to heal someone if you're cutting someone the reasonable Some people are watching it all go down and they're thinking maybe he is the Messiah but then again, I don't know because the prophecy say we won't know where the Messiah comes from and we know where this guy comes from, and this is just one example of why we don't take scripture out. Of Context. These people are quoting tradition as though it's a prophecy when in fact, scripture prophesied in Mica five to that the Messiah would be born in Bethlehem. So this quote recorded in scripture is accurately recorded, but it's technically inaccurate because it's quoting someone who is wrong. As he's being attacked and. Jesus Leans into the Authority of God the father submitting to his role as the sun it's beautiful to see how the authority structure within the Trinity Work So fluidly then the people try to capture him but he escapes them I. Thirty says it's because his our has not yet come. God's working things out according to his perfect timing and he sovereign even over the enemies efforts to stop him finally they sent some people to arrest Jesus and he's like Nice try not yet you'll. Give me soon enough. But even when you think you've caught me, it won't be for long and when I leave, you can't go where I'm heading. Then Jesus keeps preaching as the days of the peace continue prophesying about how the Holy Spirit will come and flow from people's hearts like water. None of this makes any sense to anyone at the time though because they don't understand what's going to happen with the Holy Spirit after Jesus ends and goes back to heaven that's still aways off. But he setting them up to understand his words retrospectively, his prophecies resonate with some people but infuriate others, Nicodemus, see we read about John Three who met him at night to ask him questions he tries to talk the infuriated people out of condemning Jesus without a hearing, but it falls flat. The next day Jesus comes back to the Temple Pharisees bring out a woman caught in the act of adultery. Him If they should stone her like the law commands Jesus bins down and writes in the sand. What is he doing? What is he writing? Does he not understand that this is important There are lots of theories on this like some say he was writing out a list of their sins. Maybe we don't know what he wrote I do have a theory on his tactic though and I very well may be wrong. But here's my thought if she was caught in the act of adultery, it's likely she's naked during this accusation public nudity is. Away of shaming people who are being judged. So it's possible. Jesus, is bestowing dignity on her by looking away while they're casting judgement on her. Another thing worth noting is that both people committing adultery are supposed to be stoned, but they've only brought out the woman. This is another example of how even the Pharisees are lenient on certain laws like when Jesus pointed. Out that they dishonor their parents in Mark Seven Jesus tells them sure. Let's donor the person who should lead the way in punishing sin is whoever is holiest so which if you guys hasn't sinned you go first but of course, according to this standard Jesus is the only one qualified donor. He's the only one without sin, but he's the one who has. Mercy and compassion some say, maybe she was falsely accused some say maybe she was repented we don't know all we know is that Jesus uses his power here to bless not to curse and he tells her to leave her life of Sin. Then he goes back to teaching in the temple telling them he's the light of the world. This of course invites judgment. From. The Pharisees they're saying you make some pretty strong claims about yourself how you find someone else to back up what you're saying and he says done and done my father testifies about me that should suffice they're like, where's this dad you speak up and Jesus says Oh you don't know him. That is so much more shocking than they understand they think. He's talking about a human person but he saying you have no relationship with God of the universe. He's a stranger to you because the only way you can know him as if you know me and you clearly don't know me, he even tells them that they'll die in their sins and that their father is the devil. Yikes he points out again that God. Is Not the father of all people he created got his only the father of those. He adopts into his family become to know him through Jesus and in Verse Forty? Seven he says, you can't hear God's words because you don't belong to him. If you did belong to him, you'd hear him Jesus goes on to talk about how he'll be lifted up. Soon, which a subtle reference to the cross, and then they'll know what he's talking about. They still might not submit to it but at least they will be able to deny it. E- incites their attempts at murder one more time today when he tells them that he's been around longer than Abraham by making this statement in this way before Abraham was I am. He's saying that he's both pre existent and divine is using the language of Y'all way in exodus three, fourteen identifying himself as the great I am the self existent one Jesus is making that claim and if you with us in the Old Testament, you know he's right. We saw Jesus everywhere in those pages. He didn't just show up in the major he's been there from day one in genesis creating the earth. So if you hear people say that the Bible doesn't claim Jesus is God point them to John Eight fifty eight. which brings me to my God shop for today, it was when Jesus declared himself to be the light of the world in John Eight twelve I love that L. Association. He's the very thing by which we can see he's the light. And here's something else I love about it but to be fair, this is definitely just an opinion and I definitely could be wrong. Most people believe Genesis Three fifteen is the first prophecy about Jesus in scripture it talks about his victory over the enemy but sometimes I wonder if maybe the first prophecy of the coming Messiah is actually in Genesis one three where God looks out over the dark chaotic world knowing all the broken this that's about to take place after he finishes creating it all the sin and pain and wickedness, and he says, let there be light. I wonder if that's more than just a creation command I. Wonder if it's also a promise like he saying things are about to get really dark but light is coming. Light is coming hold on light is coming. With that is a prophecy Jesus is certainly the fulfillment of it. And he's wearing joy is. Are you struggling in the reading plan? "Today we drop back in on Isaiah. The major prophet who opens with a love poem to the people of Israel and Judah in the poem goddess compared to a vine keeper, and the Israelites are compared to wild grapes, but in the Hebrew, the term is actually more like stinking things, not so flattering, and not exactly what God wants to grow in his garden, so gob removes the protective hedge around the vineyard, and the wild grapes are trampled. Then Isaiah goes on to highlight six ways. The wild grapes are Stinky and pronounces whoa over them. Burst he denounces the greedy landowners who pushed the poor out of the land. God had established land allotment rules back in numbers, chapters, twenty, six and thirty three. So says their houses will become desolate. Second he speaks over those whose lavish lives of excess and drunkenness lead them away from honoring God instead of being filled, they'll be famished, and instead of eating. They'll be swallowed by the grave. The remaining woes are strung together closely. WHOA number three is spoken to people who mock God and doubt his judgment is coming. They seek out sin WHOA number four is to the prideful fool with no discernment or integrity the storting the truth. WHOA number five for the arrogant and the final WHOA WHOA number six doubles down on the drunkenness, mentioned in Whoa number two and adds to the fact that they also rob people of Justice Verse Twenty. Four tells us that these people have despised the word of God. So God promises to send the nation's as judgment on them. Do you remember how God? Used Israel to drive out the wicked nations of cannon, when they first entered the promised land, and now he's using those nations to drive Israel out of the same land because they've broken their covenant with him. Then we move onto Isaiah six, which is a stunning chapter. It's the prophets vision of God's Throne Room I cannot imagine what it was like for him to have this vision. Put yourself in Isaiah issues for a minute. Everything is going terribly with God's people and sometimes like into nine. You don't even want him to forgive them for how terrible their acting. It's very natural response, right? But, if Isaiah is going to be God's mouthpiece, it's important for him not only to have a proper view of God, but of himself in light of God. Yes the Israelites an acting wickedly, but Isaiah is a sinner in need of God's mercy to and this vision is God's way of reminding him of that. He sees the outer fringes of God's glory. He sees the six winged to Seraphim, covering their eyes as they cry out holy, Holy Holy Repeating this three times is a way of magnifying it exponentially. Then, there's an earthquake then there smoke. One of the Seraphim puts a hot ole in his mouth, and it burns away. All that is impure. When confronted with God's Holiness Isaiah rightly sees his own impurity. He's humbled. This was a necessary posture for Iza. God Commissions Him for the task at hand. Strangely the task is to make sure the people don't repent. This reminds me of when God called Moses to go meet with Barrow and then said here's exactly what to say what to do when you get there. And by the way he's not going to listen. God tells Isaiah to rebuke a people who are not going to listen which only heaps more judgment on them. Isaiah is perplexed by this as I'm sure. Most of us would be God tells him that. Despite all the judgment and destruction, there will be a remnant of his people, he will preserve this family that he has set his heart on from the beginning this batch of stinking fruit while killing off all the wickedness that has set itself up against him. In Chapter Seven, the Southern Kingdom of Judah is in some potential military chapel. Is this God's judgment? What's going on? The people of Israel whose kingdom was toppled by the Assyrians have partnered with Syria to take Judas capital Jerusalem. Shoot as king has is nervous and is probably tend to make some foreign alliances at this point just to protect himself. But. Isaiah gives instructions to trust God because God promises to deliver them. Then God speaks to King has and tells him to ask him for assign. A has made a foreign alliance once before back in second king. Sixteen so God is giving him an opportunity to grow in faith that has refuses. This may seem like a humble trusting response, but it was actually defiant, so God's as I'm giving you assign anyway. Then God gives a sign that you probably recognize as the birth announcement for Jesus, but has doesn't know about Jesus, so we have to put ourselves in his shoes to see how he would have received this sign. What would he have thought of this? At the moment he's worried about being attacked by invading armies and God's words here sound a bit like timeline, don't they? How long would it take a woman to get pregnant and deliver a child who would then be old enough to tell right from wrong? Seven Sixteen says before this hypothetical boy would reach that age. The two nations a has beers will be desolate. So? Let's put a pin in a has for a second and covers something important about prophecy. Is the boy hypothetical, or is he Jesus, yes, he's both for a has who was receiving that prophecy. In real time. The boy is hypothetical, but for the grand scope of the timeline of all history. The boy is Jesus. This shows us one of the really incredibly beautiful layered aspects of prophecy. God can speak present truths and eternal truths simultaneously, and they aren't in conflict. They work in tandem. In Chapter Eight God tells us to go get a whiteboard and write something down. The message is Maher Shahal Hush buzz, which means spoil speeds Ray Hastens? or in Layman's terms, things are about to get bad. Around this time, a woman who is probably as as wife gets pregnant, and God tells him to name The Sun Mahara. Shelley how does I bet he can't find that on any keychains? But oh well, that's just one less souvenir to lose because Judah is about to get destroyed. And God tells in the midst of all this impending doom at he should remain unshaken. It's going to be terrible God says, but he shouldn't be your what everyone else fears. What was your God shot today? Mine was in the Throne Room chapter six. There were two things stood out to me I in verse one. We see that God's throne is in the temple, not in a palace where thrones usually are, this reminds me of Milk Kizza deck. Remember him from way back in genesis fourteen. He's part of a royal priesthood, were the royalty and the priests overlap? I love how scripture keeps reiterating that for us. I also loved something from Verse Six. That's where the Sarah takes a burning coal from the altar, and touches it to Isaiah's lips to purify him. First of all the word for alter is from the word ms bake meaning. It's the altar of sacrifice. What's on the altar of sacrifice that purifies us from our sin..

"Hey Bible readers. I'm barely hobble and I'm your host for the Bible recap the Israelites. Have just set foot in the promised. Land as a nation. For the first time this is the partial fulfillment of something. God Promised Them. Approximately seven hundred and fifty years. Earlier when he first called Abraham in Genesis twelve more fulfillment will come when they take the land but at this point their enemies the Canaanites still live there the first city they planned to take its Jericho a town near the eastern border of the Promised Land. But before they do that. God wants them to be fully prepared. In God's economy preparing for battle has very little to do with sharpening your weapons. It has everything to do with preparing your heart. He wants to make sure their hearts are surrendered to him and aligned with his own heart before they go face the enemy the first thing they have to do circumcise all the Israelite males that allow them. Time TO RECOVER AFTER. Every meal is circumcised. They celebrate Passover. The timing of this is beautiful. It's kind of second exodus. Exactly forty years after the first one their hearts need to celebrate Passover because it will reinforce their faith it serves as a reminder to them that God has protected and provided for them through the years then in five twelve we get a little sentence that speaks volumes. It says the Manna ceased on the day after they ate the produce of the land. What this is incredible? This is God's precise provisions on display. He gave the Miracle Foods six days a week for forty years and the man at even follows them into the promised land but then it stops on the day after they have access to the local food. There are no gaps in God's provision next. Joshua has a strange encounter with a man holding a sword. Obviously this could be super scary. Given the fact that they're in enemy territory so Joshua wants to know if this man is an Israelite that he just doesn't happen to recognize or if he's a canaanite and the man basically says guess again. I'm God how do we know he's got first of all he receives? Joshua's worship God's elect angels don't allow people to worship them. They reject it because they know they don't deserve it. Second the Angel of Ya also tells Joshua to take off his shoes just like God told Moses to do when he appeared in the burning Bush because he was standing on holy ground. The presence of angels doesn't make things holy only. God can do that in this conversation. Many people suggest that God is refusing to take sides in the battle since God doesn't give Joshua a straight answer but we know from the surrounding texts that God has aligned himself with the Israelites. So what's going on here? God's replied to Joshua suggests more that Israel on his side that he is on Israel's side meanwhile Jericho is shook. They probably know what's coming. This terrifying army is camped outside their city so they hole up in their houses. God tells Joshua that Jericho is theirs for the taking because he's giving it to them but he has some super weird instructions on how to accomplish. This don't march around it carrying the Ark once a day for six days seven priests blow trumpets then on the seventh day. They'll march around seven times and on that seventh trip. All the people will shout and then the walls will fall and they'll have an opening to go inside and devote everything to destruction everything except for Rahab and her family. Joshua tells the two spies who met her that they're in charge of saving her and it all happens just like God commanded. They defeated Jericho with exactly zero military strategy. Just by trusting and obeying God's Weird Commands Joshua pronounced a curse on anyone who rebuilds Jericho heads up. It's been rebuilt. We'll get to that later but just remember this curse. Another thing Joshua emphasized before they took the land was that the Israelite soldiers aren't allowed to take any plunder for themselves and he plundered they take supposed to be set apart and devoted to God kind of like a I root offering from their first conquest in the Promised Land. So bad news. A guy named Achim secretly took some stuff for himself. Some commentators estimate the value of the stuff to be approximately the amount. A worker would earn his entire life. Meanwhile Joshua makes a classic leadership mistake. He's probably overconfident. From their defeat of Jericho forgetting that they won because they walked in obedience to God's commands so he sends his people to go take over another city but without consulting God first so the Israelites. Go to take over the city of I- and not only did the Israelites. Lose but about thirty. Six men died in the process. Joshua is overcome with grief and he begins to doubt God thinking God had betrayed them. He appeals to God and much the same way Moses used to when they were in trouble but God points the finger back at the Israelites. All of them since God use the Israelites as a unit one man sin has impacted. The whole Aken is personally responsible for his spiritual adultery but the whole community is affected. God is angry at them all and he tells Joshua how to deal with the guilty party. And since Aitken Sin Represent spiritual adultery against God not just theft. It requires the death penalty the next morning. God's supernatural identifies Aitken from the tribe of Judah as the man who has committed the sin even though ache in this from the most esteemed tribe. He's rejected from the people of Israel because his heart isn't devoted to God. This is important. We're already seeing through the rescue of Rahab the Canaanite and the rejection of ache and the Israelite that being a part of God's people the Israelites has nothing to do with race or genes and everything to do with your heart. Those whose hearts are devoted to. Galway are welcomed into his family even if they're strangers and foreigners and those whose hearts reject galway even if they're Israelites by birth are not counted among his people. God's family is made up of people with new hearts not similar. Dna Agan and his family are stone for his adultery and because Deuteronomy Twenty Four sixteen tells us that children aren't to be put to death for their father's sins. It seems to indicate that his family may have played a role in his sin or in concealing it. God takes stuff seriously after all this happens. God commands him to try again at defeating. I because this time they'll win. And this time he says they can take the plunder. How Ironic is that for Aken? If only he had waited. Using a clever military strategy they defeat the city keep its livestock and plunder for themselves. Then set it on fire and again. It's important for us to remember that when they destroy these cities it's serving the purpose of God's judgement on its inhabitants for their wickedness as well as providing the promised land for the Israelites. After the battle Joshua builds an altar to God and follows the instructions God gave them back in Deuteronomy eleven speaking the curses for Mount Evil and the blessings for Mount Kerosene then Joshua renews the Covenant with the People by reading it to them allowed. We covered a lot of ground today. So where did you see your God shot? Mine was as they were taking their first six trips around the city of Jericho that get up. Make their circle a few of them would blow and trumpets than that go back to their camp and do it all over again the next day all this walking around seems like such a waste of time. If I were in that army I would probably be like. What is the point of this? We're accomplishing nothing. Maybe if we're honest we feel like that somedays in our reading plan or in prayer or in Sabbath or fill in the blank. But God's doing something sometimes what God does in our hearts through obedience is beyond our capacity to understand. Sometimes he's teaching us to trust him for the outcome instead of trying to achieve it on our own. He is at work even on the so-called nothing days when obedience feels like we're just walking in circles. You've probably already seen evidence that your obedience to him is him at work in Your Life Drawing nearer to him. It's the best place to be even whom we don't fully understand because he's wear..

"Yes yes but of course In so many people come to the Austrian covert abused and the CIA audible in many ways. You know sexually. Psychologically many horrible things and those people Are Actually they're much foster to open up and to to be vulnerable. Yeah but not only vulnerable but Those people are much more foster Determined to transform their lives. You know one hundred percent agree with because because that's that's how I've I've allowed myself to be okay with everything like anything that's negative. That's happened to me. I'm just not afraid to talk about it with anybody. If any if you ask me any question I'll answer it honestly like I'll always answer you honestly I'll be like yeah. This is what happened. This is high. Felt it sucked. But it's so therapeutic. It's the most therapeutic thing in the world is not. Allow yourself to hold any of that in to anyone. You know someone just ask you a question. I mean obviously within. There's there's always a within reason but for the most part if you're just having a genuine conversation and someone asks you something honestly answer them honestly honestly. Don't be afraid if you know this. This happened to me. This was a thing like and I got through it and here I am. I got a smile on my face cup of tea in my hand. I'm good but you know what I noticed by living and working in that place in or show but it's worth the the people depot who suffered most in hats such horrible circumstances in their life much more loving much more compassionate much more human much more spiritual so nothing nothing can break or heart really. Yes it is something you realize going through this. And it's a huge relief. Is everyone talks about yes. But I'm as I have a special condition I went through this and I have special suffering special problems but you realize that this Brahman Brahmin German central whatever MON source you the true I. It really isn't ultimately affected by by that stuff it's suggestive to it but it's not like I say stained you know. And that's a a lovely a lovely lovely lovely realization league's Asian but it doesn't come immediately to you know this is a bit Up there this realization relation Before you go to that You know when you when I when I came to -ocial resort I've went through many therapies apiece. So remember and clean. Don't stop and many many of us don't even remember what happened in our child what you know. So you uncover those ones and you killed them and and you heal them with meditation you know and then you you're you are not with broken heart your with broken open heart you know. It's very different convict some open. Yes you know something about this like I say having people close to you who are manipulative and even Osha was fooled. I would say that that really makes I find it endearing. That Osho was fooled by this person if that was the case because it really shows that the human I'm in it shows that nobody's infallible. No one is God. No one is absolutely frigging perfect and that he is human just as us and it's shows an innocence there as well to see that someone who's so close could be so manipulative. Septic you know to me I don't know I find it quite positive I find it a nice thing for some reason at humanizing right like it's worse for some reason. He allowed her to be there but I am not sure sure. He was aware because he was show for sometimes. He wasn't silenced and he was not really going out of his room. You don't so I'm not sure how much he knew about her manipulations. I don't think he I don't think he. Yeah Anyway so let me let me say this. I want to wrap up here but I wanNA give Osho the last word here I want to ask you. I'm sorry I had to move my phone silly not over here. Let me ask you this. What what is it about Osho? WHO's gained that? He's gained the following shoe dog. I mean I mean it's it's huge following. What makes him different from? Like lineages like large lineages from say like on the the hugging hugging saints or even Jesus Christ in Christianity. What what is really got that I think for you made it at the time or for now the really the thing that says okay I? This is who I'm GONNA listen to. This is what what is what is he got. What's his thing you know? What does he bring into us? You know he included everything. She didn't exclude anything. You know King. His teaching were including the Buddha and the Zorba so the celebration of L. Material Life Life enjoyment of life and meditation together so. He didn't exclude anything. He he was not telling you in order to be spiritual you have to give up this and they send that Yup and he was incredibly charismatic Martic in the very advanced I think and.

"No one hundred percent like that. That brings up a good question because this is like a lot of that hesitation for you. Just go out there and do those things is what other people are are going to think of you. So let's say when you started to do this. Did you tell people. Did you tell you like your family and friends ends. Did you say hey I just discovered this wonderful thing. It means so much to me. I'm going to go do this and did anyone. was anyone just like. Are you crazy crazy. Like what are you doing you know. Did anyone try to stop. And we were had everyone. I think everyone and my friend in Milan there were saying okay. Now what you're going to wear Saudi and be religious and going and you're we're not going to drink champagne anymore not gonNA parth easy. It's actually DOTS DOTS. That's that's what was happening. I lost my interest. I lost all interest in the partying in continuous kind kind of Shaw and proving something to others. I started to to really to dive into meditation. You know since the chains were broken you were just like I'm free of all all of this stuff like I do this. No I mean unseal. I was feeling that I don't have to. I don't anything to anyone I can be myself. I mean I needed some years of meditation and so-called deconditioning. You know from my old kind of personality. Yeah they call it the conditioning listening. Yes absolutely yes no no absolutely absolutely. I mean because you're locked in these. Yeah Yeah Yeah. You're locked in this idea of what should be and like I say it's cheesy to dance. I mean I need like four drinks dance but once but once I start dancing to really feel comfortable to to actually get out there. You know before it's just feeling like I say with ecstatic dancing. It's like Oh God God. Oh these guys are are just dancing theatre. It's dramatic but that's it it's that block. It's and I'm telling you I am this way. I am a judgmental person. I am that way and but I know it's just a block. It's an idea of that. It's stupid and it's protecting me from looking stupid just like you said Angel exactly like you said it's protecting me from being an idiot but everyone Out there is worried about the same thing so the Catharsis is get out there. You're streaming you're shaking your doing whatever it is that you're doing I don't no no and just the freedom of having that block lifted is amazing. Yeah it's amazing amazing. I liked what you said about that about you. Felt what what is it that you said I. I'm not responsible or I don't owe anything to anyone that is. That's not enlightenment. You know really. I don't really know what is like. What else do you want? You know. But you're just you're just you know from the very beginning when I started to meditate and I started religiously to grow like every day to meditation and discovering discovery. Actually how many mosques I have you you know like for real. It's not while and the feel more free of course and feel more free Doors myself you know and when you feel this freedom inside of course you're you're you can distinguish you know what is important for you and what does not know it. Just come naturally. Did you lose any kind of relationships Before you went to to the Ashram to the resort yeah. He lost some relationships from them. Finding out that you're going no actually I was I. It was in the relationship before I left to India. I wasn't this relationship but I I started to see that we have such different views. You know and our desires in live. Where very different French you know and that was not into dot anymore and your partner must have been so confused? What Yasha uh she was? He was very confused and heartbroken and disappointed and he could not understand why. And what is happening in you know but I was very much clear about. Actually the Clark came quite Right the way after I started a few minutes stations. You know I was. I was very clear I need this. I don't need this ace anymore. So those moments of doubt like right in the beginning of just like maybe. Maybe I've made a bad choice. Maybe I should go back to this lifestyle it all the time. There were doubts but very like momentary doubt and then I was diving into meditation and into also Sports Awards I was listening to his discourses and reading his words he actually never wrote a book. Write great all of his books are transcription of yeah. Yeah so Whenever I was doubting my a new new life I was just going into meditation and Just that is shaken. Just checking if this is true or just. This deceiving mind which is actually never changes. You know overseas doubting fearful. And every time. Whatever you will do it's never enough? You know so one one once understand this you're just not Paying so much attention to mind. Did you have others there. With with you. at the Ashram that would probably experiencing the same thing that were like a support system for you. You know just when you had those doubts or you have those questions and did you guys talk about it like as a group and amongst each other. So we're talking now about Indian because I started to to mandatory in Italy in Milan and I went to different retreats so I really dedicated this year. One Year of my life to meditation and self discovery and eats and agree. I I was going. I was going for it. You know and and in Milan you moved into the temple there. Yes it was a residential thing. No no no no. It was just a center. It's it wasn't Meditation Century Thin. Yeah Okay yes but already I think overeating Milan I was saying my doubts I was still very new and I didn't want to look insincere insincere and seer and maybe not spiritual and stupid you know the beginner so I was but I think I was sharing with some and people trusted I was sharing on. I didn't say My didn't change my name immediately. You know so that was I took my name. I changed my name where the doubt really Disappear you you know. And that was still in Italy so I went to India over the with the took Sonya so I took initiation Russian in Italy so when you are initiated into the but is the official name what would you call it into the practice. What does the official name of the practice You call it taking a Sonya's okay. Is this the Asan like among none are among well in or Cheval. There is a a new meaning to some to this word to this. Initiation he called kickoff his Sanaa's Nelson. Yes so it's a new meaning. You don't have to be a monk you don't you have to be celebrate. have to go from the vote to high in the Himalayas in the cave. Sir Can live in the world but not to be off the wall. Okay so what does the initiation into something like this. I think for everyone it happens in a different way. I don't think Any doubt I mean I mean for for Zen. It's called Yucai in what but I in in in my lineage and we sit there we have to so this thing. That's like a the case human. I am in how their ritual have. Yeah what is what it's There's someone who is Some of the or show Olson Yassin usually in my case There was this beautiful lady. She was a therapist and my first therapist carapace and my first teacher. Her name is shown. Your she's really amazing bean. She was very close to or shop and so she was leading this retreat in Italy in some beautiful or she center and I told her that I would like take sunny us become Oceania's and what was that. What was the actual ritual for? That added that Gulf so so She was sitting there with this Malla or Shamala with -ocial portrait on it and saw yes Basically you Dan Salat everybody's dancing with you. It's like a celebration. It's a celebration to an initiation in into your new life you know. And why Why new name? Because you know you you have association with the The your old name conditioning is associated. Did you also say with all your old life. Saving thing was then its name mm-hmm. Yeah and yeah but after a few years understood that I took a new. I've been saying you know here we have to be very careful because so you get rid of the old one but then you can easily only get the new kind of stain the new one although you can't really but spiritual identity is spiritual materialism kind of thing like it's fried. It's streaking Tom. But but when you take when you get initiation initiation it's very pure. It's very beautiful. It's it's really it's A. It's a full trust in your master. AUSTER in his movement in in his teaching in the Sonya role in the community people are so you you move to to India. And you've got this. You're already initiated. You've got your new name. Which is India? You move to India. Had you been to India before never know boy. So how did you end in Delhi or Mumbai in Mumbai. Oh Wow I've never been to Mumbai. And then you saw some shitting on the street so many things because I went by car run by taxi. All the slums through all the slums and it was like It's a dream it's Maya is. It's not real real cannot happen to for real for the Cubans. was there a moment where you re that you saw in these these first days where you're just like Whoa. I'm here in a different place. Is there a moment when you're a member. Yeah I think because the smell was the most could well. That's that's not a moment. That's just existing in that's part of being in India for sure. Well this now and the traffic you know the way they drive you know if you Jordan events dance by car from risk the belly you know how how carry absolutely can being on the road so yeah I was. It's the worst case it is insane. You keep I interrupted you. I want to hear keep going up. Yup keep asking okay all right Yeah Angel you've got to step away go for it man. Oh Yeah No. It's just I I totally forgot about this thing but yeah it's just going to be two seconds and then there's not even here yet. Just come back and jump jump. Just leave and come back.
