GOP leader 'pausing' social media after liking naughty LGBTQ posts
"Tennessee's lieutenant governor Randy mcnally is taking a break from social media. Last week, 79 year old Republican Randy mcnally said he had no intention of stopping after revelations that he repeatedly commented on racy post by a 20 year old gay model and other LGBTQ personalities. The lieutenant governor of Tennessee has been accused of hypocrisy and was lampooned on Saturday Night Live this week for among other things, saying his intent was engagement and encouragement when he commented with hearts and fire emojis on a photo of the young man's backside. Mcnally has issued an apology, saying he did not mean to embarrass anyone, and says he's pausing all social media activity to reflect and receive more guidance. Mcnally denies having a record that his anti gay that says he supports traditional marriage and has supported legislation restricting drag shows. Meanwhile, the Tennessee Senate has passed a bill that would base people's legal gender identities on their anatomy at birth and prevent transgender people from changing their driver's licenses and birth certificates to match their chosen gender identity. But but you also have the jesse ventura of the world and the arnold schwarzenegger's of the world who whether you agree with them politically or not handled their jobs with professionalism in ways that i don't i don't imagine angeline would handle the governor's mansion of california where she to win the fact that you even said a few minutes ago that someone could potentially be elected governor of california in two weeks with only three percent of the popular vote. How is that democratic will. It's the the processes. Democratic elections are always like that in america where we have this first-past-the-post-system whoever comes out on top and the most votes that's part of the reason people have liked things like instant runoff. It's where new york recently had done and actually in california. There's a number of cities that have that where you can't win but there's also no Elongated runoff you. Oh i voted for the republican here. Will you sign this petition. To recall gavin newsom right. now. I mean doesn't doesn't this couldn't this lead to simply every two years. We have a recall against whoever the the elected governor is. They just know that it's becoming pretty. It's going to be pretty easy. Now that it's talked about more all we gotta do is get twelve percent of californians twelve percent of whatever other state or whatever. Let's just have the sign up sheet at the ballot box. Go in vote for donald trump if he wins great if he doesn't you've already thought this petition and we'll just put a recall election up and we'll do over how is a recall election. Not simply a do over well first of all. You couldn't do that because they're not governor so he couldn't well get my new saying you wouldn't be able to get on that election. Kansas but kansas kansas is a malfeasance standard state. Also i believe kansas. It's forty percent of turnout. Were those cats for the office cried so new jersey is registered voters so desire. "I think in at least in my generation in the modern generation of cycling to see kind of build up to the torn. You've talked about on the podcast before. But i think the the sport really thrive when you see the best writers racing the best writers multiple events and it does kind of set the stage of you know who is who is writing. They're all going to be at the tour and you know but winning winning the dolphin on its own is still a huge a huge feet and i think that it is cool to see you know the best writers going up against each other and there's been writers who won the dolphin never won the tour but that is a that is a huge sold to win to win that race. I think outside of the grand tours. I would say it's one of the most prestigious week long stages in my opinion i guess. Maybe that's just because i have a bias towards towards france like francois having lived there but i would i guess. Perry niessen dolphins. We're always kind of the the to marquee stages for myself outside of the three grand tours. I mean off the right. I mean it's a slightly worrying presses in a in a way got jars reasons of slightly different. I think he really wants to write his his home tour. And also the organizers of the French Open who insisted that she should take part in them. She then released are a longer and more detailed explanation. But precisely why she didn't want to to participate in them. And she talked about having suffered from depression and being an introverted person to find them very difficult. And I think that that swung the down payment in, in her favor, it made me wonder about how how the whole thing had been handled, you know, from from her point of view, whether it might have been better for her or her managing to speak to the French Open initially and explain the precise reasons why it was really difficult for her to do these. So, we had a situation where the initial reaction was to criticize the athlete and then the later reaction was to be very critical of the French Open in particular and tennis in general, but it's raised a lot of questions and talking points about press conferences and their place in the modern media landscape because they used to be The The Forum through which athletes could speak to fans, you know, their words would be relayed by the journalists principally print journalist, who would attend these press conferences and that's became slightly outdated that perhaps with social media, allowing athletes, direct access to two fans. You never regret iran so self care definitely The running. I've also gotten into a skincare routine in the last two years. I think i was very honest. I tell people that until two years ago. I never used to wash my face before i went to mand and somehow two years ago i i know all my friends debuted Watch but anyway. I got into a skincare routine and i enjoy not because my skin just looks better but also because it's just a nice little ritual to have on in the morning in the evening it's two three sticks but makes me feel good and then in times of stress as as now in this last last few months my therapist taught me a ground. Gra breathing techniques to help you feel more grounded. They call it circular breathing. But i don't know why they call it circular breathing because it seems like it's a square but but Or i imagine square. When i do it so you you breathe in inhale for four. You hold for four exhale for four in you. Repeat so inhale on hold and then repeat so inhale. Hold exhale hold needed. That for four counts on i find. It is so coming. And they're just moments when maybe something triggered me or apple wave of sadness that comes over me. And i find if i could just do that for two or three minutes. I feel a lot better. That was going to be my next question for sure About grounding that's a great Exercise that's so easily accessible. If you just remember to do it i do. I see it surprising surprised myself. Actually that told to have a bad memory. But i remember to do it.
