Willy Mac: The First Years Competing Were a Struggle

"So you got to 2003. You're playing the Hooters tour. And you're winning, but then you would only took you a couple of years to get to the corn ferry tour, and then to the PGA Tour, right? Yeah, no, I started like right there, September of 99. So like, September, October, November, we just tested. So basically, 2000, I was like, are you gonna be an amateur? I'm like, fuck, no, dude. I'm turning pro. I'm 25 years old. I wasted my time with that shit. Not going after the mid amp. It's over. I'm gonna be out there. So I'm gonna turn pro start taking Paris money. And I wasn't really winning any, but I was willing to win a check for fucking 75 bucks or 750 bucks. So 2000, I didn't get on tour until 2004, 5 seasons. So it took me a while, 2000, 2001, 2002, were a major struggle. I was going in the red. My dad and man and town cash. But we were, you know, we were being somewhat frugal about

"Things break around the house. That's why there's around the house with Ken Moon. It is okay. It's 21 minutes after the hour. Good to have you with us here around the round the house program. What's on your mind? What you got on your mind as they used to say. Give us a call. We'd like to kick things around with you around the program at 3037138255 and whatever is, uh, kicking around things you want to kick around about what's going on to your house. We're here to help and we usually can not always sometimes. If I can. I will refer you out. But don't don't do that. All that often listens to John Kredi, some kind of a landscaping. Problem. You get the idea anyway. So we are at your service three or 37138255. Let's see. Do you need this is one. Do you need a blanket around your water heater? If it's in a heated basement, ask Stan. Dan. That's a good question. Uh, yeah, you can, uh, I'm not a big fan of them one way or the other. And the reason is that, uh, if you think of your house is kind of a A closed system and energy envelope, If you will. If he leaks out of your water heater, it stays in the house. Now I know that you've physics majors. It takes more energy to heat water than air because of the energy density and all that. That's true. So if you wanted to put a blanket around it, that's fine. I just don't think it's worth messing with, especially as we replace the water heaters and service. Over the years for about five years ago or so, and I'm lose track of this. The timing on this, but 56 years ago, the feds required extra thick insulation blanket to be installed under the Jackets of all new Water heaters. So as water heaters get replaced their extra insulation in them anyway, If you want to do that, you know 15 bucks. You can get a blanket and put it around your water. I don't have one. Because my water heaters right next to my furnace and and actually heated basement, So I just I just do not do not do that. There are exceptions, though, and let me just run through the exceptions. If your water heater is on the outside, maybe you're in a manufactured home, and it's in a closet on the outside of the house where there's extra heat loss. Yeah, you probably want to put a blanket around that water heater. If it's in the garage, many of you others of you have Water heater in a garage closet. You might want to put a blanket around that and every electric water heater should have a blanket around it. Electric water heating is expensive. Much more so than propane or natural gas. So if you've got like a little squatty, stubby water heater and across space, you can go online and get a get a blanket parade. It's an insulating blanket wrapped in In plastic, and it comes with its own duct tape. You just put it around around the outside so all electric water heaters and gas water heaters in cold spaces. Maybe you have a gas water heater that down in the crawlspace. Maybe they dug a pit down there and, uh, And there's a standup gas water heater across spaces are cooler. Put a blanket there, But if it's in the main house, he did envelope. I probably wouldn't spend the time. Our money to do that. I hope that wasn't weren't too many conditions there for you. Dan, but that's that's that's a good question. Uh, let's see here while we were talking a while ago about acoustic popcorn ceilings, removing it leaving in place that sort of thing. And somebody wanted to know why I suggested spraying of studying you instead of using a roller. When you paint popcorn ceilings. As you know, I'm not a big fan of getting rid of acoustic ceilings for several reasons. If they're older, there could be asbestos and lead paint and you don't want to get that material in Europe. Carpet and drapes and cabinets and furnace and so on. And when you would do remove it, you may have to re texture anyway, because there won't be a pristine flat ceiling there to paint so I would encourage you strongly Vit acoustic in place, but when you paint it, it brightens it up, and it makes it seem much more. I don't know. Brighton inviting. It's These popcorn ceilings tend to attract a lot of dust and dirt and smoke particles. And so they get kind of dingy looking So if that's the case that your house you want to put a new layer of paint on there, and people want to know what well, there's acoustic ceiling rollers. There are thick Mac thick napped rollers that are specifically designed to paid acoustic ceilings. And they work okay for the first few minutes, But then they start picking up fragments off of the acoustic ceiling, and it starts to fall in your hair and your eyes and on the floor and the furniture. They're very messy and ineffective. I know you. Some of you may have done it. Do not use them successfully. If you have Uh, acoustic ceiling that maybe it hasn't got quite the the thick texture layer on it, but I prefer spraying paint on a popcorn ceiling. Because the process is so much quicker and more complete. You get better coverage. And you have all those little hills and valleys and acoustic ceiling And the spray paint really works well, to fill in all those hills and valleys. And so, uh, yeah, I think you know you need to hire this. I would not try to spray in there. Acoustic ceiling myself. You want to try to roll it on Good luck. Let me know how that goes for you. But generally people report that it's messy and doesn't do a very good job. You want to use a little satin or semigloss paint? Because that way you won't get that electrostatic cling of all the Dust and smoke particles on your acoustic ceiling. So make sure that it's not a flat paint because you will be in a couple years. Right back where you started from with that dingy, dusty kind of look on your Acoustic ceiling, So yes, I would, uh, I would encourage you to spray it. And not roll it that people were asking why I said that. Finally, Bill says, My disposal is leaking out of the reset button. Oh, boy. Would any suggestions? Yes, you need to replace it. Once the tank is breached. It's too late and you know, electricity and water don't mix, especially around the sink. So I you know, I would unplug that baby. Don't use it at all. If it's dribbling out of the guts of the other disposal, Unplug it and get a new one. The new disposals are cheap. You can get a decent one fork. I don't know. 75 bucks or so that you know you might spend 100 plus to get a half horsepower. Nice one, but they are not very expensive. And they just you know, they just wear out. They just age There was a lot of corrosive liquids inside of disposal, and eventually they rust and corrode and they start to leak and dribble as your indicated. Indicating bills. So it's time to let that go and policing a disposer is something you can easily do yourself. You need an assistant for this, somebody that at the very end after you Put the cord on and you're ready to put it in. You can you can hold the disposal in your assistant can grab the top of it and twist those rings to lock it in place. But easy to do this yourself and the most amazing thing you'll.

"Your free bottle of krill Omega 50 Plus and you're free B 12 energy melts at 1 805 100. 18 42 again. That's 1 805 118 42 1 more time slowly for two free bottles today, Write it down. 1 805 118 42 Now, Doc, I've seen these ads where they say that cruel oil is 48 times stronger than fish oil. Is that true? Does that make any sense? Well, you know, obviously, these are the cruel guys talking right? Right, right. But you could look at it both ways. Let's get into krill in just a moment, but first, let's at the fish. Oil guys on the shoulder because you know, you could say that the official oil is better and stronger. But we're talking about the concentrated high omega three fish oil here because it's higher. Any omega threes, the EPA and D H A. That are so important for the heart, the brain the memory mood, your eyes, your skin, your hair, your nails. So in one sense, you could say, well, the fish oils better. But in another sense, I have to hand it to the crew guys. Because in terms of antioxidant power krill oil is extraordinary. And it's because There's a molecule and cruel oil. It's naturally occurring called Asta Xanthan and asked his aunt and Steve, This is one of the most powerful antioxidants we've ever discovered Steve by one measure of antioxidant activity at 6000 times, stronger than vitamin C so amazing that the accident power in the krill and now as we're getting older 50 plus others like myself on 52. We don't make as many antioxidants naturally are antioxidant systems are kind of slowing down. And at the same time we're producing more free radicals. Naturally, this is why we call it Omega 50, plus extra antioxidant power and extra krill. Remember 500 mg of crew instead of 367% more plus The vitamin D so important for us, and this is just incredible value proposition. I have folks that we're going out and they were getting the krill separately in the fish oil separately, the antioxidant somebody you could spend 75 bucks doing that. No kidding. You're getting it off for free. Today. This is the best of both Worlds combination product with the cruel and official. It's not one being better than the other. They're both great. And this is the best of both worlds, You know, Thank God for purity products. I'm serious seriously, because when you think about where our food supply is gone, and where we are today, we have to have something that allows us to feel better as we age to age gracefully. It's amazing to me is we talk? That's why I love the way that purity gives away the free bottles because you know people can be skeptical. Could be skeptical. But now they can be skeptical. And they say, Okay, you know what this sounds? Pretty important. I'm going to give this a go. It's only gonna cost me 6 95, and they get it and they try it out and what they start to see, because it doesn't take long. Remember that joint studies seven days. 28% more comfortable, but they start to see is Hey, I'm more comfortable. I feel better. They noticed their energy is better than they realized. Hey, you know what? This is important and they tell their friends and they tell their relatives and they tell their loved ones and purity has been doing business this way for I don't know, 20 years Now, let's look at one more. You know, this is a great estimate. O'Neill by Gracie five out of five stars, she writes. It works. I feel a difference in my joints after only one week. Also, you have the nicest staff. That's what that's what great cigarettes. You have the nicest staff people living appreciate working with purity. They're fantastic company. They put their money where their mouth is. They give out free bottles and you try and you're like, Wow, This is great stuff. Thank God for purity. Let's talk about the heart health. For a moment. It's probably the single greatest concern that people face as they age. So anything that we can do to boost heart health becomes really a top priority. You know this? I know this and those folks out there know this as well. And I know you mentioned earlier that omega threes literally lower our risk of coronary heart disease. Do I have that correct Because that's a big statement, You know? Absolutely. I mean, protecting the heart. This is what put Omega threes on the map. Back in the seventies, Dr Dyrberg discovered you know how protective they were for the Eskimos. By the way, he's a wonderful guy had Lunch with him a year or two ago. Great conversation. But bottom line is omega three is prepared to our heart in so many ways. They promote a smooth rhythmical heartbeat important for the body's normal inflammatory response in the heart muscle inside the arteries and veins. They promote those youthful, flexible arteries so important for circulation. They promote healthy blood platelet activity. Healthy red blood cell activity, support, healthy blood pressure. That's very important. Triglycerides. So they do so much for the heart. So simply amazing cardiovascular protection with these Omega threes. It just keeps getting better, doesn't it? Hey, you know, I got a got to remind of this when people I have patients coming here all the time. I'm like, Are you taking your omega threes? I hope you're still taking your Omega threes. You know, they're afraid to say no. You know, like the omega three. Not there. Take your omega threes. In fact, if there was only one nutrient that I could take Steve Honest to God. If there was only one nutrient that I could take hands down its Omega threes. That's the first most important nutrient you can take. And there's krill Omega 50. Plus, I love the way they combine the krill oil with officials you can the best of both worlds can't beat it. So simply amazing cardiovascular protection with these Omega threes, Doc, this study you sent me on this omega threes, and the memory is amazing. It seems that the participants taking Omega threes had some pretty incredible benefits here. When you talk about memory, that is something that kind of slips as we get older. Tell us more about this. Would you write? This was a great study because what they did. He was very interesting. This added the journal Neurology. And what they did is they checked the Omega three level in the red blood. UDS cells of women. 1000 women, older women said. This is a big study 1000 women. But then again eight years later, and the women were on average 78 years old At this point, they did MRI scans of the women's brains and what they found. Steve. This is so amazing. He found that the brain volume for the women that had more omega threes in their red blood cells, the women that had more omega threes in their red blood cells. They had higher brain volume. They were actually maintaining more Of the youthful size of the brain. Their brains were bigger. You could see it plainly in the MRI measurements. That's really cool, but not only that is a very important part of the Marine notice the hippocampus very important part of the brain that facilitates learning facilitates memory, and there was greater brain volume in the hippocampus for people that had more omega threes in their red blood cells. That's how you can really measure how much making three someone's taking in. So if you take omega three, she will raise your Omega three. The index. We know this. It's a fact you take Omega threes, you rate up, so you want to have More omega threes in your bloodstream. Very important. That's how it infuses into all the cell membranes into the joints into their brain, etcetera. So take the krill Omega 50. Plus you get the krill oil 67% more quill oil so fantastic for the joints. You get the high omega three fish oil, vitamin D in there as well, as does anthem for extra antioxidant power and protect that brain..

Scrap is like really, really bad, uh, each one of them for 75 bucks back. No kidding. Yep. And I got the true value for what they were. So I used the money to fix the back up. So the one shot with the No doors, no front fenders over that, that that was midway of me, fixing all the damaged parts, often replacing them all. Gotcha. Gotcha. So was it a minimal check that you got then when they totaled it? No. I had to get through separate tracks since there were three separate claims. Yeah. It was it was worth it to to fix them all back up. Absolutely how. When was the last time you saw station wagon? Yeah, well, right now on my phone, but well, but before that, Of course, Of course I do Cheese in your own driveway. Alright, Ron. Thanks for calling New Jersey One at 1.5. Okay. "So do you have some way yet to calculate lifetime value of a purchase or user like For example, for every user that comes on, there were $25 over the next six months. Have data like that yet? Yeah, slowly and I know that it's going to take the longer you have. This thing has been around for five years. You have tons of that data. I'm just curious, cause I love I like I used to hate numbers and hate math in school again, Right? Like I wish I dropped out of school like you. But as I got into business, I was like, Dang this whole numbers thing in math and making sure that every decision you make moving forward is strategic. Based on data and analytics. Yeah, So now I like, thrive off of this stuff when I actually get excited about the numbers, Which is why I was asking, you know, do you know you got 100,000 users? The average ones worth $6.15? Right, Right? Yeah. It's still pretty early for us right now. I think what we're seeing, um you know our average order values 75 bucks. Compare that to the average order. At a concert away from sites like 55. So you already have that data and another really compelling data point which all the merch companies that we work with our loving where we're actually predicting real data on demand, where for the first time when you have the entire tour line available for preorder if we launched that toy line for Beyonce, two weeks before the tour begins. We now know down to I think about 1.7% exactly what is gonna be the most popular product and popular size variant throughout the entire tour, and you guys can even send and again. I'm just making stuff up because there's so many things you guys could really do. But when the puppet in my head was, you could send a push notification that says, Hey, the show is about to end by some of the merchandise 25% off. I mean, there's so many different things you guys really could do, which is why His app really is actually a genius idea. My question is what separates you and protects you from anyone getting into the space. Totally. It's the upside with working with sidestepping the partnerships we have where so you feel like you've already got your feet pretty deep in. Yeah, The movie is really deep right now, And it's It's not just the arts that we're working with which that's a very powerful thing. But it's more the partnerships that we've cultivated with Ticketmaster with access to getting. And we're basically building you know, proactive sales channels that do not exist today for artists for the first time with Ticketmaster. We can proactively message fans that bought a ticket to the show, saying You're going to Beyonce Rose Bowl. Here's the entire merch line. You can buy it here. We're providing the artists not just the data, but a marketing vehicle to drive more sales. So do you. Have you met Beyonce and Adele? And then do you actually meet them? I get the pleasure of meeting their merchandise people. Okay, You're gonna meet the director of merchandise PR for them and stuff. I was just curious because I thought I was like, that'd be a pretty cool thing. Maybe after you've made them enough money, you'll be able to, uh, I want that meeting. All right. I know exactly what the data here How much money I've made you guys, which I think is something that's really cool about your guys' app. Founder of Sidesteps Joining us Eric Jones. I'm mark lack on business rock stars were here to inspire, inform and connect a community of entrepreneurs. We don't talk about raising money. And I said that we were going to break it up. So I want to know now. How much money did you guys raise? Can you disclose it? Yeah, we've raised just under 2,000,002 Million. And what do you think? The hardest part nowadays, raising money as a trend? They've got frickin TV shows about raising money nowadays for products and ideas. So what do you think? The hardest part? I think I think it's romanticized quite a bit. It's really not, at least in my opinion. Uh, it's not the most fun. It's sort of the necessary they try to make it seem like it's kind of glamorous In some ways, yes, meaning like Oh, my gosh. She raised five million bucks. But in reality, you wouldn't celebrate getting a $5 million loan from the bank. Because you just got $5 million in debt. Now granted, somebody could rationalize good debt. First bad debt. That's another conversation. But what do you think was the thing that lets you raise the money? Because you're a young guy, and, you know, sometimes they say, you bet on the jockey. Meaning the person versus the horse. The company in your case, What do you think? They bet on? I think early on. It's came down to me as the founder. How it can articulate the story. Talk about what we're looking to accomplish and what we've done so far with what we have, Um, now it's It's really based on data. What we've done about at eight x growth since last year and every single metric you can That will make the investors pretty happy, right? They're loving it. Um, but I think you know the biggest challenge is just making sure your purses you'll get a lot of notes. I mean, you get forever. Yes, I have 100 or 200 knows. And that they can get hard on the entrepreneur because you love what you do so much You love the vision and to have someone Professional investors say I don't I don't see it. Yeah, it can weigh on you quite a bit. Okay? And so at the end of the day when you got the investment, what was the first thing I went to your head? Let's hire some people. Yeah. How did you decide to allocate the funds? Was it your decision? Was that the investor's decision? Yeah. It was my decision. I mean, we, uh We started off when we first did that followed boy tour, um, to about 2.5 years ago. It was just me one developer. So that's not that many people. Yeah, So for me, it was much. Let's hire really, really great people to film the voice. Let's expand the team the depths because we Build a lot of good stuff and the sales. Let's make sure we always have artists coming on to sidestep. How are you guys continuing to get new people on? I mean, you've already got so many big names, and I feel like that's really the hardest part is you Get up the hill. You get those first couple big names like you've got Beyonce Adele Fallout Boy and a bunch of other big ones. Um, but at the end of the day, how do you sustain that? How do you keep moving forward? Yeah. I mean, the big artists. They kind of You know, we take a one to many strategy with the merch companies and management companies where it makes it easier to have more tours Come on the side step, but it's a really big market, and we want to make sure that we can serve not just those top tier artist, but those that are playing theaters or Small amphitheaters, and that comes down to what product we can build to make it more self serve..

Adele $6.15 $25 Eric Jones $5 million 100 25% 200 last year 75 bucks Ticketmaster five million bucks Beyonce 100,000 users five years first First first time Boy under 2,000,002 Million

"A joint standpoint, we have innumerable studies showing overall improvement in joint health and relief and stable inflammatory activity. Better joint mobility as a result of taking curcumin. I like the brain protective studies as well, You know, I think everybody wants a sharper, clearer mind and curcumin delivers all this. So I regarded as one of the single most important things that you can put in your body and I'm very well aware path that most people are not going to eat. It's got the green tea. It's got the curcumin the risk very troll that we talked about, plus grape seed extract pine bark. Bio flavonoids, vitamin C. Can you talk to me about this array of really super antioxidants and poly phenols you've put in the formula? Well, yeah, I won't say that. We kind of went overkill. But I will say that we really, really developed an efficient, comprehensive program here. Great seed extract and pine bark extract. Both contain a group of highly specialized antioxidant compounds that not only do much of what I've already described But also enhance the physical integrity of tissue in the blood vessels in the skin. So we put those in there for extra boost in antioxidant activity, but also for a specific type of activity that isn't as much addressed by the green tea, the curcumin and resveratrol. The bio flavonoids enhance the overall activity of vitamin C and vitamin C itself as one of the most important nutrients that we can possibly take in, so I would say that we were very, very thorough. You know, when we went through what could be in this product? We said, you know what would happen if we put in great seed extract? Pine bark extract, bio flavonoids and vitamin C. We realized that we would have an utterly superior formula and just to reiterate Pat. I want people to experience dynamic health. I want people to feel great. This formula. The green tea CR will make you feel great, and that's the purpose of it. Right, Chris. I love this green tea CR combination formula. And remember the C R. Stands for curcumin and resveratrol love that with this complimentary bottle today our listeners can get started for free. That's great value. What would people expect to pay if they bought all of these separately in the store? Well, I think if they bought high quality products that contain these ingredients, they'd be into it for about 75 bucks or so possibly even 80 so they'd wind up spending appreciably.

And they say, Okay, you know what? This sounds pretty important. I'm going to give this go. It's only gonna cost me 6 95. It's probably the single greatest concern that people face as they age. So anything that we can do to boost heart health becomes really a top priority. You know this? I know this and those folks out there know this as well. And I know you meant Earlier that Omega threes literally lower our risk of coronary heart disease. Do I have that correct Because that's a big statement, You know? Absolutely. I mean, protecting the heart. This is what put Omega threes on the map. Back in the seventies, Dr Dyrberg discovered you know how protective they were for the Eskimos. But bottom line is omega threes, protect our heart in so many ways they promote a smooth rhythmical heartbeat important for the body's normal inflammatory response in the heart muscle. Inside the arteries and veins. They promote those youthful, flexible arteries so important for circulation. They promote healthy blood platelet activity. Healthy red blood cell activity. They support a healthy blood pressure. That's very important triglycerides. So they do so much for the heart. Let's get into krill in just a moment, but first, let's at the fish oil guy. Was on the shoulder because you know, you could say that the fish oil is better and stronger. While Some Spring Breakers Swarm Beaches, Many Stay Home, Dreaming Of Summer Travel

"Of year that many of us pack our suitcases for a spring break trip, But things this year are still far from normal. There are crowds on beaches in Fort Lauderdale on a few other places, but overall travel numbers are still down. As NPR's David Schaper reports, Many are getting the summer travel bug. For many college students Spring break used to mean earning a couple of extra bees as it beaches and beer. But this year, many colleges and universities are canceling the annual week off and one that isn't the University of California. Davis is paying students 75 bucks to stay home or on campus. Many family trips to resorts and theme parks are also being put on hold as a new survey on behalf of the reeling travel industry shows disappointingly only 12% of respondents said they're planning travel for spring break. Roger Dow heads the U. S Travel Association, which commissioned the poll. What is a little more concerning to May is just last week. That was 16%. So it's down from last week. When we were thinking everything was starting to go in the right direction, Tao says. Recent bad news about new Corona virus variants appears to be cooling. A mini industry warm up is more people have been traveling. The T S A says the number of people passing through airport security checkpoints tops one million more often than not these days, but that's still less than half of pre pandemic levels. Hotel occupancy rates are also creeping back up. But the travel industry continues to take a beating now, says nearly 40% of all U. S jobs lost due to the pandemic are in leisure and hospitality. U. S economy just can't recover unless the travel industry is healthy and recovery and travel won't fully recover until the pandemic is under control. What many Americans appear to feel that day is coming. And their online travel searches show they're itching to hit the road. What we're beginning to see in the beginning of 2021 is a recovery from the deepest part of that depression and demand. Haley Berg is an economist with the airfare and hotel price tracking APP Hopper and she says searches for flights are up substantially across the board. Demand for domestic travel since January is up, 58%. International travel is up about 20% and those numbers are growing faster and faster each week, Berg says. TRAVEL SEARCH activity surges in sync with new cycles, For example, when President Biden last week promised enough vaccines for every American adult by the end of May Travel searches skyrocketed. We're fully anticipating a big surge in demand late spring and through summer, there is clear pencil demand for travel. Audrey Hendley heads American Express Travel, which released a report this week on global consumer travel sentiment. And she says many people are not just searching. They're ready to book even if they knew they have to cancel their trip in the future, And we're calling that shift. That book now figure it out later mentality. That's the result of airlines and hotels, offering more flexible changin cancelation policies as it's still unclear when some countries may reopen their borders and lift travel restrictions. And even though more people are getting vaccinated every day, the CDC still urges Americans not to take any nonessential trips. But even with so much uncertainty about the future of travel, Hendley says, many people find being bitten by the travel bog and planning. A vacation is good for the pandemic weary soul. David
