"We've got 70 degrees in the American Standard Cooling Weather Center. The time is 8 16. Anything even know? Tweet read, strapping down, Find it funny. That teaching about race and racism wasn't an issue for you until it was given a populist name C R T The same methodology has been taught in the better schools in Indiana for years, and you weren't worried until the label of C R T was generically applied to it. This comes from James on Twitter to same tweet. He has sent me now for weeks. You're boring in your big at James. That's who you are. Find it funny. I got to tell you. I think that when people start a statement would find it funny. I don't think they they find it funny. I think they're they're relying on cliche as as a crutch. Incapable of, you know, engaging a bigger, broader conversation. Tony Katz 93 w I b c Good morning. Remember, they hate you. For talking about critical race theory. They want to destroy you for speaking out about critical race theory. And then they lie about what it is. Critical race theory is bigotry. Anti racism is bigotry. The idea that it's not taught in schools. That doesn't mean that it is not something that is taught within schools when I say that the people doing the teaching have bought in solely and exclusively And so therefore they're teaching our kids. Why would I allow that bigotry to take place? It's much different than a conversation about race or teaching about American history, isn't it? Well, of course it is. A rational people know this irrational people call themselves James on Twitter and spout out nonsense. This is what we're fighting people who are unwilling to have the honest conversation. This brings us to David French. Who is David French. David French has written some things I have liked. David French. It's went in a direction. He certainly went in the anti trump direction, which I guess you don't have to like Trump. But never Trumper is, of course, ignorance. And he was actually tapped by guy by name of Bill Kristol, who used to be a conservative who mattered. And then he became, uh, you know, a guy who is still on the grift. I mean, really? Missing are the The larger scale conversation of of conservatism has been Bill Kristol, and he has been a stalwart in conservatism. But he wasn't a stalwart and winning. He wasn't a stalwart in fighting. He was a stalwart and looking good in a suit and getting invited to be on TV and getting invited to the right parties. Still buying into systems as they are. And he said David French for should run for president against Donald Trump and people said who David French is a writer at National Review. He's now and I think the dispatch And he tweeted out that there was an excellent piece. Over time dot com. And it's entitled the conservative case against banning critical race theory. The conservative case against banning critical race theory, and he's like, Oh, this is excellent. It says. By the end of June, 29 Republican led state legislatures had considered and nine had enacted laws to penalize schools or teachers teaching critical race theory. I'm not sure that's actually what took place, but rather it was a conversation of what is being taught not necessarily a penalizing. Of being taught. Was right. So it's certainly it would never have stopped in none of the laws as I know them stop the idea of a discussion of race, racism or America's history regarding slavery. It's etcetera. It's written by a disease hook. H U Q is the last name? I'm not familiar. And the only thing I know is that he teaches at the University of Chicago Law School. But I hadn't done a reason piece of research on him. Christopher Roof. Oh, did a piece of research on him. Um, I believe it to him. Hook. Huk Huk Q, Who wrote this article? The conservative case against banning critical razor now before we go any further. When you hear The conservative case against banning critical race theory. Allison when you hear that headline the conservative case against banning critical race theory What does that make you think? The conservative case against banning critical race theory. What would you outsider looking in? You read that headline. What do you think the article is about? I would say the article is about, uh against critical race theory, I guess and written by the perspective of a conservative, a conservative Hook is a former staffer for Ruth Bader Ginsburg, columnist for the Nation, which is the left of very leftist website and a donor to Hillary Clinton. I put forth to you that time magazine flat out lied. And did not give the reader the information. What an absolute failure. Of a conversation. Lie about who's writing and and certainly a headline that's meant to take people down the path that does not exist. And another purpose, which is to make you think that critical race theory is just fine. It's not just fine. It's not just fine. It's pure, raw, unadulterated bigotry. And it's being taught in schools by the way, because we know the National Education Association and the American Federation of Teachers have decided to go down that road and bring it in. And they've had trainings at the left from Abram Kennedy, who is a bigot, pushing anti racism that says you confront racism with racism and you confront future racism with racism. It strips away individuality and leaves only a groupthink. But don't ask for people like James on Twitter. You know anything about that? By the way? I don't know. James is real. James. I assume just some troll. Some boring nonsense garbage troll. Well, let's just get him the block right there, and we could be done with this fool. Speaking of the American Federation of Teachers, Randi Weingarten, president of the left, says millions of Floridians are going to die because of Ron De Santis. Rhonda Santa's governor of Florida is selling a trinkets. T shirts, coffee mugs. Don't Fauci, my Florida That's that's what says don't bow to my Florida. And dissent. The cells Don't Fauci, my Florida merges new coronavirus coronavirus cases near highest in nation. Okay? We're now seeing things Come back again with these variants. What have you people get vaccinated or they won't that'll be up to them. Randi guard Weingarten rights. Disgusting. Millions of Florian's are going to die for Ron DeSantis is ignorance, and he's choosing to profit from it. He doesn't care about Floridians he cares about furthering his own crew agenda. That's exactly the way we feel about you and your and your union When it comes to our kids. That's why millions of parents are fighting. Millions and millions and millions of parents are fighting. Because you're agenda.

Rebel by Alan Out in California and But sometimes will have issues with Uh, indoor humidity. It's actually high in the wintertime. We use that whole concept of relative humidity and warmer temperatures can hold more moisture. Okay, so If we have our thermostats set 70 degrees or 72 degrees even old, more moisture. But it's cold outside and we have drier air because it can't hold as much moisture and you get infiltration of the air so Hey, if you get it too cold outside and you have warm air inside. And you're not ventilating properly. Such as cooking, producing water. Lot of house plants produce water. Aquariums produced water, people produce water. First president to be impeached twice Yes. So he's got that going for him, You know, which is nice. Yes, says it is not a surprise. Charlie and 10. GOP members crossed over, but That means 90 plus percent still support the president, which also mirrors the latest survey for Frank Lutz, who surveyed all these GOP voters after the riot. And 94% would still vote for Donald Trump. Interesting, All right. That's 90% support from Republicans in the house when you get over to the Senate, where the actual trial will be correctly, If my math is wrong, I think because we know every Democrat's gonna, you know. Vote guilty. Our last night's I think it's 17. They need 17 Republicans. In the Senate. If there is a trial that would require 17 to get the supermajority to remove him from office, But the trial won't happen until he's already out of office. If they get that 17 Charlie that pushes them over the requirement to prevent him from ever running again, and that only requires a simple majority. So if they get to the 67, then they again put up the proposition. He could never run for anything. Never hold any office again. But that requires just 51. I don't know if it's going to get to the super majority. It depends on McConnell. And it all depends on what Tom Cotton says because, he said, You can't have a trial for a guy who's now president. That's illegal will see how this works out. Big fight. Okay, so that's what you meant by if there was a trial. Yes, sir. There is a question the legality of trying a guy who's no longer in office. All right. Good news this morning, Johnson and Johnson's got a one shot vaccine that's almost ready to go. Yeah, This is huge. And now we're probably three months away from getting full FDA clearance on it, but this one shot that's showing fantastic and quick immunity. Developing. Is a lot less so this could be a major major breakthrough and look for final results and FDA and probably April partners CEO Oh says that they may be gone for good. Yeah, that's ah, That's kind of sad news for me. I want more speech, not less, and whether or not he's being dramatic, they're trying to fight this in court, and it does sound pretty dismal, but all they need is one or two court decisions. And maybe they come back. But right now it's looking pretty empty. And lastly, we know Ken Jennings has his last two days hosting jeopardy today and tomorrow we've heard about Katie Couric. We have heard about, um Aaron Rodgers from Green Bay being a guest host. I guess they don't have your phone number or my phone number are emails because they didn't contact you. "70 degrees" Discussed on WLS-AM 890
"Americans now hate people who are part of the opposing political party more than they love their own party. Researchers have been studying this for decades. Using something called quote a feeling thermometer. Zero degrees is cold 50 degrees. Neutral 100 degrees. Warm feelings toward members of the same party have hovered in the 70 degree range. But feelings about people in the opposing party have plummeted from 48 degrees in the late 19 seventies to 20 degrees today. It's important. Remember, we all want what we think is best. But sometimes that's just a little bit more compassion and understanding. I'm Dr Sanjay Gupta, helping you live a better life. COVID vaccine distribution underway as first trucks hit the road
"It is a massive, complicated undertaking and it is underway. The first doses of covert 19 vaccine will be delivered to every state tomorrow. Files are being loaded up on two ups and FedEx trucks to ship to hospitals around the country. This has taken months of work and planning and here to talk us through what's next? Is NPR Health reporter Selena Simmons Duffin. Good morning. Morning, Lulu. So the vials were getting on their way. Now what? Well, next is the rush to start getting people vaccinated to try to slow and eventually end the pandemic. How it works is this. The federal government is coordinating distribution to predetermine sites around each state. And then the baton gets past a state and local health departments and healthcare providers to actually start administering the shots. I checked with a bunch of state health officials yesterday. Most say it's going to take a few days for providers to get trained up on how to properly give this vaccine. There's a lot of information coming at them really fast from Fizer and from CDC about exactly who should get the vaccine, So if there are some vaccines administered on Monday, it may actually take a few days for the campaign to really get under way. This is a really hopeful moment on D. I want to underscore that because we really need hopeful moments. But what what could go wrong? Despite all the planning, there will be hiccups. The big fear is that some of these precious vaccine doses could be wasted or it doesn't get to the right people. Remember this fax he needs to be kept ultra cold minus 70 degrees Celsius. It comes in kind of a pizza box filled with vials and try ice. The vaccine on Lee lasts a few days in the fridge after it's thought you need to dilute it before you injected. There is just no way everything will go perfectly. So our health were officials worry about that. Most of the people I talked to are confident that when issues come up, they can resolve them and learn from them clear hand and made this point. She's the executive director of the Association of Immunization Managers. Those are the people in every state in charge of vaccination plans. And here's what she told me. We're going to learn so much from the first hospitals who are vaccinating, you know how What is it really like to get this box? How long does it take to mix the vaccine with the deal you in? How long does it take to actually vaccinate someone? Lots to consider. I want a vaccine, obviously, but the next question is, who is going to be getting these very first doses? The CDC has prioritized health workers and residents of long term care facilities in what's called Phase one A. But there's a lot of hunger for details from health officials and I'm told that that should come in the next few days. So you know, we've all heard about the allergic reactions When vaccinations started in Britain, we're talking about guidance about the kind of history of allergic reaction to be aware of. And then what about pregnant or lactating people are people with immune disorders. All of this guidance is frantically getting hashed out right now, so providers can get answers as the vaccination campaign actually rolls out, and how long before it will be widely available? It's not yet clear exactly who comes after Phase one a on DATs, giving health officials some heartburn. It's also not clear how much vaccine will be available next. What pace of shipments is going to be going forward? It could be speedier if there were two vaccines and distribution instead of one, And that could happen soon. There's an FDA committee meeting to consider authorizing the Madonna vaccine this Thursday. But the short answer is the hope is that the vaccine will be widely available in the late spring at the earliest. Maybe the summer of 2021. That's NPR's Selena Simmons stuff and thank you very much. Thank you. So that is the good news and it comes as the U. S is rapidly approaching yet another horrific milestone 300,000 deaths from covert 19. The next few months, experts tell us it will be worse before it gets better.
Moderna's Covid-19 Vaccine Is 94.5% Effective in Early Results, Firm Says
"Moderna has gone public with his experimental vaccine, the biotechnology firm says early results suggest that its vaccine is nearly 95% effective. Today's news follows a similar announcement from Fizer last week, and it leaves the incoming administration with the prospect that it will have a least to Corona virus vaccines to distribute and 2021 Dr. Celine Gounder is part of the President elect's Coronavirus Task Force. She's a clinical assistant professor of medicine and infectious diseases at New York University. She's also host of the podcast epidemic, and she joins us now, Dr Gounder. Welcome to one, eh? Great to be here. So what does it mean that two potential vaccines are both showing signs of success. Well, this is quite promising. Both appear at least based on the data we've seen so far to be over 90% effective in preventing disease. We don't yet know if these vaccines will prevent transmission from one person to another. But at least we know that they're they're very likely to protect us individually from severe disease. This is really a breakthrough. But we still have a lot of work ahead in terms of getting people vaccinated. It's not just about having a vaccine, but it needs to get into people to protect them. What's the timeline from here in terms of when we could possibly either see a vaccine approved but definitely on the distribution and as well? Well, I think you're going to see in the next couple of weeks. The submission to the FDA by both Visor and Madonna for emergency use authorization. They will continue to collect data on effectiveness and side effects as they start to ramp up vaccination in advance of an approval. But I think we're still looking at Really focusing on health care workers and other high risk populations in the first wave of vaccinations in at the end of this calendar year earlier early next calendar year. And we won't really see these vaccines available to the broader general public until at least April or may of next year, And that's because it takes time to manufacture. The millions the hundreds of millions of doses that we're going to need and to gear up in terms of the distribute that distributions supply chain and with the Fizer vaccine, there's a specific type of infrastructure needed. The story that it has to be. It started very cold temperatures. So how would that impact the possible world out of that vaccine? Well, that's right. So the Fizer vaccine requires ultra cold, ultra freezing minus 70 degrees Celsius. This is not something that you have in your regular family doctor's office s so it really is going to need to be stored. In central locations, perhaps hospitals, other pharmacy distribution centers, and so that does make it much more difficult. This is not something that you could, you know, disseminate to every single family Practitioners office and makes it more difficult, especially in rural areas to really scale of vaccinations. This is something people are thinking long and hard about right now. To figure this out. We got this question from Dr Swat on Twitter who says what have the potential side effects of the vaccines. And how much will they cost? Do you know that yet? Well, we don't have all of that information. Yet In terms of the Madonna vaccine, with the results of which were just announced, the side effects that we're seeing are pretty mild pain at the injection site, headaches, muscle pain on and it's a similar sort of profile with the fire advisor vaccine and really the kind of thing you see. With many vaccines in terms of cost. The Biden Harris transition team is very much committed to making sure that people who want to get vaccinated can get vaccinated for free. That's not just with respect to the vaccine itself, but with all of the other costs associated with getting vaccinated the doctor's visit The supplies. Unfortunately, one of the things we saw earlier this year with respect to testing was that the current administration had said Yes, people can get tested for free. But then people got surprised bills. Because there was still the cost of the doctor's office visit and so on. Are how closely are you working with the Trump Administration on a Corona virus response at this point Not at all. Um you know, a major challenge here is that the G s a needs to certify that we could move forward toe hand over the keys, so to speak, so we can enter the building so we can start to have these kinds of conversations in detail and so right now, pending the General Services Administration, signing off on Theologian results. We really are in a holding pattern on or not able to have those crucial discussions. So we got this question from Alicia on Facebook. Who says Can Biden's team start work now? The end of January so far off what? We lose progress? What are you able to do right now? Well, we can be interfacing with state and local government officials, public health officials, we could be reaching out to the private sector. Um, s O. We're certainly moving forward in terms of our own planning. But, you know, if you imagine that this is a war we're waging war on the current virus. And like any other war if we were in the middle of a world war and we didn't know where our aircraft carriers and our tanks and our troops were, it would be very difficulty to plan. A response s. Oh, it's it's very challenging, not to be given sort of that critical crucial What's really frankly national security information?
