How the Fed "Went Broke" by Lyn Alden
"How the fed went broke. By Lynn Alden. The U.S. Federal Reserve is now operating at a financial loss and is months away from having negative tangible equity for the first time in modern history. This article explores how we got here and to what extent any of this matters for savers and investors. Commercial bank assets and liabilities. A commercial bank has a considerable amount of both assets and liabilities. In order to remain solvent, the asset side must exceed the liability side, and they have various regulations placed on them to try to keep them as solvent as possible. For a typical bank, their liabilities mainly consist of deposits. Individuals or businesses deposit money at the bank, and those deposits in various forms, checking accounts, savings accounts, certificates of deposits, and so forth, are considered liabilities, or IOUs for the bank, and assets for the depositors. This serves as the source of financing for banks. They're basically borrowing from depositors at very low rates. On the other side of the ledger, bank assets consist of various loans, securities, and cash that they hold at their Central Bank. The loans insecurities can include mortgage loans, business loans, personal loans, credit card loans, various treasury securities and other more complex securities. To use Bank of America as an example, they have $3.051 trillion in assets, and $2.778 trillion in liabilities. As of the end of 2022. Their assets exceed their liabilities, meaning they have positive shareholder equity. Even when we factor out some intangible items, mainly referring to their $69 billion in goodwill, their equity is still positive. And importantly, Bank of America's assets generate a much higher average yield than their liabilities, so they have positive interest income. They pay a small amount of interest income to their depositors and collect way more interest income on their various assets.

What Dr. Daniel Amen Learned From Analyzing Thousands of Brain Scans
"Important lesson from 83,000 brain scans. What is that lesson, doctor? What is the most important lesson that you derived from now? I think it's what, 247,000 brain scans, right? I mean, it's much more than that now. Is you are not stuck with the brain you have. You can make it better. And I can prove it. And we've done thousands of before and after scans. I do a series on Instagram called scan my brain. And about 16 months ago, I scanned Major League Baseball player, Troy gloss, who's the 2002 World Series MVP. And despite a lot of terrible and for concussions, he was drinking too much. He had lots of dark thoughts, he was suicidal. And I did his third scan last week, and it looked dramatically better. And he's dramatically better, which not only impacts him at impact. So he saw a correlation, you see the healthier brain, you also see symptoms improve and it's proof that this is 99% of the profession is missing it. And it's a long-term play. So it's not just, oh, let me give you this medicine and you're less depressed. Let me get your brain healthy. So long term, you have a dramatically decreased risk. For Alzheimer's disease. And I turned 69 this year. And one statistic that just horrifies me is 80 is 50% of people 85 and older will be diagnosed with dementia, or Alzheimer's disease. And I'm not okay with that, right? It's more normal to be demented that not to be demented. So as I take someone in their 20s, 30s, 40s, 50s. The idea is not to just get them symptom free to get them to fall in love with their and keep that healthy for the rest of their lives.

Jack Posobiec Unpacks South Africa's Latest Economic Disaster
"What we've been doing, Charlie, for a long time now, is promoting political agendas ahead of merit head of skill ahead of quality. And we are getting to the point now where because we've been introducing work quotas and we've been introducing these new ideas. We have a transportation secretary who was given his job because of his sex life, who has no qualifications whatsoever for that position. We're now in a position in our country where everything seems like it's just falling apart. All of the systems, the routine maintenance, the trains can't seem to be running properly. And you talk to the left and they'll say, oh, this is because of greed. This is because of capitalism. What's the capitalism? Where's the profit incentive for everything falling apart? No, that doesn't explain it. And so the reason that I brought up South Africa is because if you've just seen a couple of days ago, South Africa's president just announced that they are an energy crisis, their entire energy grid is failing. They are invoking the disaster law now because they're introducing power shortages. They have to do this so they can have any power at all whatsoever. They've also got water issues at the same time. They're having water supply issues. I mean, they're right on the coast. They have plenty of rivers, but at the same time, they can't get water to the people. And so this footage that we're all looking at comes to us by way of Joel Pollock from breitbart. And I just have to say, congratulations at South Africa. You are the first country to achieve total equity, full equality, full inclusion in your workforce, the level of equity and equality is off the charts because everyone is suffering equally. That's the only way and the only outcome that will ever come from forcing equality on an entire country or an entire group of people because human beings are inherently inequal. That's just how it is. We all have different talents. And so what you're seeing there, that those are images of the central mall in Cape Town, South Africa, from just a couple of days ago, that's completely blacked out. And you're seeing this across the country, hospitals are having power issues, kids have to read by candlelight or you're seeing images of kids that, you know, like the strobe light attached to their head kind of stuff, the flashlight, and it's horrifying. It's terrible. And you go back to 1998. And Nelson Mandela, his government, and you can pull this up on the old CNN website. The news CNN, you can never find it. But it says racial quota plan to become law. They called it employment equity, Charlie. Have you heard that phrase before? I know that I have because the parliamentary move would give quote preferences to people on the basis of race and ultimately require racial quotas said anitha Jeffrey of the South African institute of race relations. To push this transition into the quote white dominated ranks and make up for the wrongs of apartheid, Mandela's government backs a plan in which black South Africa. I'm just reading from CNN dot com, by the way. Government would back a plan in which black South Africans quote would need to constitute 69% of the workforce at all levels from the top down

"Was. There was an interesting thing that i heard. I've heard it many times. But every time. I hear it is a refreshing idea. Which is what. I want to talk about today in that. Is you know especially with me recently. With this whole book thing you know my whole life. I've felt important. Like i felt like there was something important for me to do. And especially when. I started getting into spirituality and learning about religions i definitely felt more of a calling purpose in my life and i don't quite know what that is. I haven't quite figured that out yet. But something that i read or heard recently really just took it home for me again and again every time i hear it and that is that there is no one purpose to life. Life is the purpose. You existing is the purpose. Whatever you do with that existence is exactly what you were supposed to do. I know that that's not. It almost seems like a cop out like an easy way of not dealing with life but as a matter of fact it's complete when when we hear that word surrender right in christianity. We hear that word. A lot surrendered to god. Will you could change those words around a little bit and say surrender to life. There isn't any one thing you have to do or be you know. We've talked about this before with the lawyer cowboy in space eating cherry pie right like everything is cherry pie. You're always eating cherry pie But when you get bored of eating the cherry pie that's when the problem arises because you think that they're supposed to be something other than cherry pie so enjoy what you're doing whatever it is. Find a way to enjoy it. Find a way to appreciate everything and again and again. I come back to this and i was having a conversation with Two people at my work the other day and this is probably an unpopular opinion. But it's my podcasts. All say what i want. They were talking about christianity and jesus and they were taught. And i couldn't even help myself. I love when people get into these kinds of conversations because that's my wheelhouse at least in my opinion and so they were talking about one. Side of the argument was talking about the bible. And what you should do and then the other side was talking about. Jesus and for me. I believe that those are two fundamentally different things because the reality is jesus did not write the bible. People that were around. Jesus wrote the bible and they put things that he said in the bible but jesus didn't write the bible. The people who wrote the bible were not technically christians. The people who wrote the bible would have identified with hebrew. They would have been in the hebrew religion but they obviously had been changed because of jesus in it. They are the origins of christianity. But at the time. Christianity was not a religion. It wasn't a thing until after christ so when people read the bible they take it way too literally and think that this is what this means and this is what that means..

"69. 9352. We do have an open line there so call. And if you have a question, love to help try to help you. Let's go to rich in the river view. Hey, How's it? How's it going, Joe? Good in you. Good. Thanks. The first thing I want to talk about was the question that you had This is kind of vague because there's a cdd. And then there's an H O. A. A cdd typically takes care of, you know, common grounds. And that is a paid position. And when you get sorry about exercising, But when you get elected to that position, it's almost like a government body. And it is a paid position so H away is typically Are not a paid position, and, um, so that's kind of questionable, excusing yourself from the fees. Well, I thought so, too, But they said everybody voted on it. So Not not just the board with the community of, uh, the group loaded on it. Not just the board means okay. Yeah. Then that would probably make that okay. And then, uh, as far as hiring someone I think you were spot on about Getting three bids and More and then letting the family member you know, bid against it. And if they're, you know, provide a better service. For a good price, and you know the board would select him. So I've been on a CD for I think, probably two years and I was on a H away for about 15 years to different nature ways. So I thought it would add. Alright, other question. Was, uh covid so And the employer, you know, kind of requiring You know you to take. The shot is Is this an approved vaccine that you know you can mandate that because my understanding is not fully approved Vaccine. Well, The problem is, they might They might not be able to mandate it and make you do it, But they also don't have to keep you employed. And then they could find some other reason to terminate you and use any reason they want to and without an employment contract. You're basically stuck. So it's just really a question. It's It's not necessarily a total legal question. Can they make you get the shot? You know? No. But do they have to keep you employed? And can they terminate you for Being late two times and drinking coffee after the break, And I mean, can they make up some other reason to terminate you and yes, because you don't have an employment contract and they can basically terminate you. It will As long as they don't discriminate. That's true, and so my wife and HR business and even letting people go for the right reasons. Is, uh, sometimes challenging. You have to well document everything. So, yes, you as an employee or two documents that your employer was trying to make you take a vaccine. And then found other reasons to fire you. Yeah, The other thing is, you know it's different if you work for a company that accepts government contracts versus private company that doesn't to. I mean there's a big difference in all of these type of answers, whether variations that come into play, but Okay? Yeah. So just from the surface level, the answer is you don't take the vaccine. Your company can find other reasons. Well, that was that's just a true statement. I mean, I wasn't trying to answer that question Per se. It just seems like he didn't have a good reason not to take it didn't think it was gonna work. But, you know, do you want to risk You've fallen on the bad side of delicious looking for a reason to fire you for any reason. And you live that life as opposed to just you know, you're probably getting paid to maybe even get in the bonus to go get your shot. Why? Why put it off? If you don't have a good reason not to. If you have a medical reason that's one thing. But I just don't think it's gonna work. I mean, I think that if it were me, I would think. Well, I think I'm just going to go get the shot and not have to live with the hassle or worry about my job. They're sure that you know. Yeah, we've had We've had several conversations about this. And, you know, I think some people do have a good reason to not take it. Yeah, They have medical reasons that we don't know what the effects are. You don't know if your kids are going to have three. Your grandkids are going to have three eyes. I've had people come in and tell me that's a conspiracy. And if you like Republican the they have a special shot for you. And you're going to die in five years. I don't believe that. Yeah, I don't either. I'm just all right, Rich. I gotta break I got to take. But thanks for calling. Alright. Alright. Thanks. Jeff i wanna talk about harry the generational trauma of it all because as mom entered a loving relationship with mary after her husband died right and it wasn't anything to blink an eyelash at is at the phrase. Ot let's go with. It wasn't enough to shake an asset in the foyer reference household at it was played off as very normalized and it's fine but throughout the film they were flick kaz foliage that we privy to and. That's kind of when we get to the point of harry having a stroke right Shoutouts non-charter out to joyce it had nothing to do with her. Mole rather him accepting. His family rarely his mother as well as jeff and he has a very lovely moving soliloquy if you will where he talks about you know of course. I wanted my son to find a nice skill and to have kids. Love was because he has so much guilt. Irv a homing guilt that he didn't do enough for his own mother Because we say because we see we see someone driven often a cab driver in the time that he has a stroke and it isn't until later on in the film that we found out they were both getting older so it wasn't necessarily they would just hateful bigots and they wanted to like separate them but it did get to a point where they'll both too old to be together. They caught a fine solution where both of them get to stay. Like jennifer black mir away. Yeah i get them away from each other other as just cruel but with families as fucked up as hours any reprieve is a reprieve no to me. Just look seeing that scene other end. And that's what got me. The man exited the vehicle and immediately shoulder what appeared to be a rifle and aimed at the police officers. After that action, police officers then fired and shot the man. You officers then rendered medical aid to the man until an ambulance arrived, which was a very short time later. Transport him to ST Vincent Hospital and was to where it was pronounced deceased. No officers were hurt. No word on a motive and an investigation is on going. Crowds are about to get bigger and louder here in Massachusetts and new step in reopening tomorrow focused on large events and recreation stadiums, arenas and ballparks conduct all their capacity from 12% to 25% that includes here in Boston, so Fenway in the Garden can host more fans. "That you hold. Your strengthen talents are special. There went make you you and your values are to those things you care. Most about on the flip side we all have our weaknesses and those things are also unique to us just as we have our own combination of strengths and talents. We have our own combination of weaknesses to so if we can acknowledge our weaknesses and realize that even if we pretend we don't have them everyone else might already be aware of our weaknesses. Once we come to accept our weaknesses we can accept all of ourselves. We don't need to hide. We can be who we really are. Be authentic and accept ourselves so when we do that we are open to accepting other people and we can feel belonging we can connect to other people a sense of belonging involves a few things one is gaining acceptance for yourself from yourself and another is gaining acceptance from other people. This doesn't mean that you need to be a people pleaser. It means that you need to be able to connect with other people and if there are some things about you that sometimes are off putting to others for example if you're a little too blunt if you're rude if you're overly direct and don't have some sensitivity to the fact that someone might need a little more explanation or context something that's a skill that you can learn and if you have those kinds of things going on with yourself it might be worth learning those skills so that you can generally gain acceptance from other people but it's not a personality contest. It's not a popularity contest. Gaining acceptance from your group could be something like if you belong to a church group and you go to the church group on you learn people's names and get to know them and go regularly they start to know you and they start to rely on your membership and your participation and they care about you as well because you're part of the group another thing that a sense of belonging involves is attention..
