"Unit Terrace, 100 on Monday, August 21st from 3 PM to 8 PM. I'm Rita Kessler WTOP We are ready for the weekend and it sounds like the forecast is going to cooperate. The 7 News First Alert broadcast now from Jordan Evans. Jordan, a beautiful Friday is underway. Yeah, picture perfect, especially for the middle of August. It feels more like early to middle of September with the lower humidity moving in. A lot of sunshine, no rain, chances at all throughout the weekend, and temperatures pretty comfortable, 80s for highs. Sunday will be up to 90, but still I think the drier air will stick around so it won't feel too humid at all throughout the entire weekend. That also means the morning temperatures, I think tomorrow morning, we're going to have widespread 50s and low 60s out there. Again, that's more like the middle of September in terms of those temperatures, so a nice refreshing start as we get into tomorrow morning, even Sunday morning, pretty comfortable around 65 degrees. Now next week we're heating up, Monday it's 95, Tuesday it's 92, so summer's not done yet, but then it looks like we'll cool down with potentially some rain by the end of next week, so we have to wait a while until we talk about our next rain chances. Right now we're in the 70s out there, 80s low too, Falls Church here at 80 degrees 79 in Northwest, Northeast at 78 upper Marlboro, 77. And the forecast is brought to you by Lend the Plumber, heating and air, trusted same day service, seven days a week. Coming up on WTOP, a local museum considered a gem in the woods is expanding its hours this fall. It's 11 21. Your next success begins with University of Maryland Global Campus. Pike also trouble free between Milbury all the way into Boston granted WBC's traffic on the threes and now the WBZ four day AccuWeather forecast as we go live to WBZ AccuWeather, meteorologist in DeVore. All right. Good morning to you, Jim. Good morning, Boston today cooler than yesterday. But nice will stay in the load of its seventies this afternoon. There will be some haze that you'll notice with the sunshine today and then he's from the Western wildfire smoke that sunshine mixes with some clouds as we get in the afternoon. As I said, a little cooler and nice Today, clouds will thicken up and in fact, some spots inland could see a shower later tonight, but most of the time dry some areas of low clouds and fog. Maybe a little drizzle near the coast overnight loaded sixties and then Clouds will give giving ways some sunshine breezy and it gets warmer again tomorrow. Like yesterday we get up low to mid eighties shower thunderstorm or two tomorrow night. It could be strong to severe. Then Thursday, some showers maybe a rumble. Temperatures temperatures in the low to mid seventies and then still some showers on Friday loaded seventies. We're trying to sort the weekend Al Gym right now. A lot of it depends on that system that's out in the Atlantic. It becomes a tropical system, and it's close enough to at least influence or whether with some showers early in the weekend. Watch that as we get closer to the weekend itself, right here on WBZ Boston news radio. All right there, Dean, We're at 65 degrees right now. Partly cloudy skies Nice comfortable Tuesday morning out there. In Boston as we're looking at a beautiful day outside of that he's in the sky later on today. "Saver traffic. Alright, Here we go. It's going to be muggy and rainy tonight the same tomorrow with a high of 82 same on Saturday with a high of 80 Sunday, we dry out high of 78 on Monday storms a high of 82. It's currently 65 degrees. Wanted to get you. The very latest on that condo collapsed near Miami. It is not a good scene. ABC is Jim Ryan has been on this story from the very beginning, and he is with us. Jim is the death toll still at one and how many are missing? Well, we know now that three people have died. So yeah, that has risen in just the last couple of hours. John. As far as somebody are missing, that's a real mystery could be between 50 and maybe 99 people. There's no real management company on site there, so there's no real indication of how many people were staying there. It's a mix of permanent residents in condominiums, short term rental people, snowbirds who lived there only part of the year so There really is no clear indication of how many people were supposed to be there, and therefore how many might have been out. Jim, When we look at images of part of this condo building collapsing, you gotta ask what happened. Do we know? Was it a sinkhole? Was it? What was it? They just don't know. At this point. Anybody who is going to be involved in looking for the cause of the disaster is still looking for survivors and victims of this thing, Melissa, So we just don't know yet what might have caused this. So you know, even an answer might still be several months away really wants this investigation gets that way. I think back about a year and a half ago herself. In the hard rock hotel under construction in New Orleans collapsed. It took some time before the answers were finally found about that. It was some kind of engineering problem in this case, we just don't know this building is 40 years old. It was up for a 40 year re certification when this all happened today. ABC is Jim Ryan. Thanks for the update, Jim. Thanks, sir..

"Burberry scarf and Joe Abboud jacket. Thank you, Gabby. Having lunch? Yeah, and I said, I go. Yes, Yes, Yes. No, It was a nice day, please. I mean, it was cold, but it was sunny. It was cold. Now I'm in a tent and there's a heater on there. But I made the point. There's nothing like enjoying lunch outside on a 17 degree day. I mean, this is not South Beach. I'm not sitting outside by the water level 65 degrees correctly. It was. It was like 33 34 degrees felt like five. By the time. I mean, I'm serious for about 30 minutes. I was fine. When you sit outside in these types of temperatures and not walking or actively doing something it sets in very, very quickly, and I was so uncomfortable and I could just imagine what it must be like it night. To sit outside need, so it's just it doesn't make any sense. I don't know how these businesses are sticking around. So you can check those two videos out at Bernie and said We're becoming nuts. A big total. And then of course, today is going to be even worse. You know how you're gonna have after dining on a day like that is gonna be windy Snow rain. I mean, it's just Gonna lose today And then Thursday, Friday and Saturday and Sunday. Now you got you talking. You talking frigid Arctic temps freezing coming up this weekend. How are these people going to do outdoor dying? I don't know. There's a place by me Sarafina, which I like a lot of Italian restaurant, one of the corner of one of five and Broadway and I was in Florida, but I guess you guys had a bad rainstorm. Antarctica Sets Record High Temperature: 65 Degrees

"This is a startling it was hotter in an article last Thursday than it was in New Mexico sixty five degrees Fahrenheit according to researchers in the Antarctic peninsula it's a record high temperature if it can be verified NPR's called wire explains when you think about a sixty five degree day plenty of things probably come to mind Antarctica likely is not one of them and there's a good reason why that would make it the hottest temperature that we have seen over the link to record that we have for an article that's Randy serve any he specializes in weather and climate extremes for the world meteorological organization Arjun time researchers reported the temperature at the very northern tip of Antarctica and it's partly sermones role to verify that report we'll get a panel of experts put together yet are the best in the world they will look at the data they'll discuss it and tear it apart and then they will recommend to me as to whether or not this should be a valid observation now it's also important to remember that this is just one data point here and it's the result of very particular weather conditions but it does match up with what scientists have been seeing their overtime it's one of the fastest warming areas on the planet Alexander I served as the head of Antarctic sciences at the National Science Foundation she says the region has been warming for decades and the previous record height was reported just a few years ago this warming climate requires some practical adjustments for the researchers we we've definitely had to kind of re think a bit what we provide people with that means more geared to deal with the kind of rain and sleet the warmer weather brings I've been going down for ten years and even I have seen the changes I bring different clothes now do I certain says there are also other bigger consequences of this warmer weather in Antarctica contributes to a warmer sea water in general which means melting glaciers and rising sea UL's worldwide it also means more extreme events for serving and his team to verify when I started this project all the way back in two thousand and seven I thought we would have maybe an evaluation once every few years and now we're having multiple observations of extreme climate every year so don't be surprised if we see yet another record high in Antarctica soon called wired
