Mike Broom head show on K T A R news 92 3 FM and the K t A R news app. Hey, thanks so much appreciate you being with us happy Friday from the mic Broom had show Um We've been talking about the early days of the Biden administration. What is good? What is bad? What he said. That was right on the money in his inauguration speech going to be a president for all Americans, but we are starting to see the policies unfold. And which direction will America go? And will it be the right direction? That's what people are looking at. And I think this is what we should always do. And we got off the rails with a trump presidency. That was I've never seen anything as contentious is those four years. And now we've got Joe Biden is president. And if we focus in on what Joe Biden is doing, why he's doing it. Then we can receive the good, the bad and the ugly and everything in between. And right Now we're starting to see executive orders after executive order after executive order, and even supporters of Joe Biden are beginning to say, Hey, you know, Take it easy. So, um We know the McCain family supported Joe Biden, longtime friends, the McCain family and the Trump family did not get along in any way, shape, manner or form and that relationship went back to the late senator when he was alive. John McCain and Donald Trump did not get along as people and they didn't get along as well as people in the government either. And, uh, I didn't like it. I've said before I was a Trump supporter. But I also had a phenomenal relationship that I will always cherish with the late John McCain and, you know it's funny to see politically people that hate your guts for saying that, and I never understood it. John McCain was good to me. And so I felt like a kid caught in a horrible divorce. I was a good friend with John McCain s so weird to be able to say that, but he really treated me Like a friend, and at the same time I supported a lot of the policies and a lot of what President Trump was trying to do. But I was caught in the middle because I supported them both. Megan McCain. Who I've become pretty good friends with over the years, especially when her father was sick was out in support of Joe Biden become president. But what I like about Megan is she will call people out much any time she thinks they need to be called out. And even though she supported Biden over Donald Trump. Here's what she said. Now, if you're Joe Biden and you've made 19 executive orders, as opposed to President Trump, who did five in his first week, President Obama, who did five in his first week, President Clinton, Bush, who did zero. It may be time to start working with the other side. Because if you're just gonna legislate in the same way that President Trump did. Isn't a sea change. This isn't healing, And this isn't coming together. I thought the whole point of the Biden administration is that you weren't going to be like the Trump administration. And she makes an excellent point in calling out the people like herself that thought this was going to be a time of mending and healing and he's she said. This is just a seat change. This is now we're just going to sprint in the other direction with 19 executive orders and counting And what they did. There's so many executive orders coming out of this administration that they broke them up by theme by day. There was a healthcare day There was an equity day There was an economy day They're culminating in, uh, immigration, I think is today. Is this. This is not a way to work together and he's already been challenged on immigration on one Of halting deportations, and a federal judge has already told him he's pushed too far on that. There's only been one challenge that we know of that has stopped anything, but they're pushing back on using executive orders. So Meghan McCain's not done. This is this is interesting. I worry about this seesawing pendulum going back and forth where we're just using executive orders to legislate and it's not just Me and Sarah that have criticism of it. The New York Times has come out pretty hard criticism. The New York Times isn't exactly a bastion of conservatism, saying quote. This is no way to make a law. It's a flawed substitute for legislation. And it is in the point always was in the past that when one president signs an executive order, it's not a law and the next president, Concomitant can reverse it, And we're seeing that now, as far as I'm concerned, that's where elections have consequences. They're going to challenge some of those like they challenge them with Donald Trump and immigration as well. So there's going to be challenges to these. But in the end, what this is, is a lazy way to do things. It's like electing a different king every four years. That just reverses what the old King did our queen it is. It is a silly way to do things now. Congress can't get anything done. And the funny thing about this with leadership is this is where the dysfunction is in our government. This is where we dig in our heels, and I'm saying we, the voters. Congress. We don't tolerate this kind of mismanagement in any part of life in other parts of life. You go to prison. If you mismanage somebody else's money, the way they mismanage our money. But they certainly would lose their jobs. And no one loses their job in D. C. Congress has got almost zero approval rating almost single digits in approval rating. Except everybody gets reelected because I like my legislator, but yours has to go. Nancy Pelosi has no business retaining the speaker's job. There's not an ounce of working with the other side in her And Chuck Schumer is the he said when they took over the Senate He was. He was basically telling everybody, you know, buckle up. That's what he said that this is going to be a crazy ride. They're not working with the other side. They're not working with each other. They're going to get frustrated with the Republicans pushing back and they're probably gonna end the filibuster. And it's only going to be a 50 vote majority because the 50 vote is a tie is all that's needed and the vice president's gonna break the tie and they're going to do whatever it is that they want to do now, as far as I am concerned. I do believe in elections having consequences. The Democrats want it all. So they have the right to do what they're doing, but they're not doing it the right way with legislation these executive order after executive order after executive order Was going to get pushed back upon. But it's not the way that the founding fathers ever desired. You designed the executive order process and the people that have made this process of executive orders. That's not what it was designed.

Almost exactly the same. Mid to upper sixties will have plenty of sun once again and we won't quite have that wind that we did yesterday. So much lighter wind today, but we are waking up the chilly conditions. Overnight.
