"The answer is when trae young is not on the floor they have a ninety two point. Wait seven offensive rating that is in the first percentile. That's bad and when trae young is off the floor and Evan Turner is on and this is not all and have been termed shoulders. The deep I percents L. Goes to these zero. Th percentile eighty nine point seven offensive rating when in if you just split out the tournaments and they don't have a lot of guys that can generate much they don't have they don't have a ton of shooting that I trust. I think that the shooting could be better than it was and it is not a surprise that those minutes are killing this team but it is a prize just how extreme but also how prevalent. They've had to beat. Because how are they going to do it. Yeah now it's worth noting that would trae on. The floor of their defense is so much worse. Remind US also playing with cameras and a lot of those minutes in their starting lineup. At East playing with Damian Jones and a lot of those their their bench defense is better than their started events. I can't really think of why they would possibly be starting Jones over Alex on the they must just be. Maybe it's just because it's department. They want to see if they have. Anything in. Jones will be a restricted free agent. or as len can be an unrestricted free agent. But I mean they're not like out of the playoff mix yet like at least play. Your best guys me Linh has provide some kind of reproduction. These guys can't get defensive. Rebound that's major problem. Jones has not helped there. They are terrible shooting. The ball from three Even with trae shooting at pretty well and some really difficult to semantic harder hopefully can help them. They've got nothing out of Allan CRABB. Coming off of that knee injuries injury. He's been playing but Not been the knocked onto your that. They really need them to be Lennon. Shouted extremely poorly after a nice finish to last year from downtown. So maybe it'll turn around Ron if they get collins called showed some flashes of rim protection before he got suspended will end. It's also unfortunate for the hawks that it has become tougher sledding over the last couple weeks with the nets doing well in Kyrie irvings absence. I mean it's looking more to me like it's going to be somewhere between thirty eight and forty wins to to make it in the east when it looks like it might be as low as thirty thirty five thirty six also. I think it's worth noting. The story of the last two years. Where for both conferences? The number just keeps climbing the later. We get into the season as has teams either reload for the playoffs or go up against teams. That are developing player. Shall we say to your and speaking of developing players wanted to many update on De'andre Hunter the rookie. Who Travis like gave up a ton of resources to move up and get hundreds started all twenty one games for the hawks playing thirty two minutes a game in his age twenty two you season Older than many rookies in the modern era averaging twelve and four and what I thought was most interesting this builds on something that we saw in the preseason. He's not as much in summer leagues though. It's not surprised that you need to see guys game a little bit more before you start to do. This is that they've that hunters run hundred thirteen pick and rolls so far this season. He is the general a point. Seven eight points per possession as a score which is thirty nine percents offer scores. Unfortunately for him it's identical as a score plus passer in that drops just because it's harder many circumstances to score the pass to somebody else and that is about a fourth was exactly a quarter of his offensive possession with the test. I think it's looked better than I expected. But it's not the you know what the end all be. All four offense is just something that you can go to in spots. Maybe if you're you're looking to generate something as a spot up shooter. He actually hasn't disappointed at the absolute as advertised. It's just and it's not like they have a lot other options here outside at trae but certainly the stuff inside the Arca has been very inefficient. He has helped their defense to be sure. But when you look at who comes in behind him. It's not a huge surprise. Is I mean I think he can be part of a good defense. I don't think he's GonNa make a good defense necessarily spring in Bendel. Our director of basketball research. Now talk about the Indiana Pacers. They're thirteen and seven sterling five and one in their last six games ninth in the NBA with a five point four net rating thirteenth on offense. That's pretty darn impressive. Considering Vitriol depots out all your ninth on defense projecting for a healthy forty five wins and ninety six percent chance at the playoffs so bed. Take it away here. What do you got these guys? This week I thought a fun place to start was with miles turner and specifically way didn't in their are overtime win over Atlanta. They got down by as many as seventeen in the first half but the way I would see the team came back in one but specifically for him Kinda felt like an important way for him to just have a nice response on both ends of the floor having missed his first three threes in that game in the first two weren't even close and a big dynamic with this team is in there was a sequence where when he's not spacing out if Brogden in Savannah pick and roll for example a high usage play for them we saw Bruno Fernando just leave him to block broadband at the Rim so as that game went on Turner kind of handling that dynamic he still picks spots to get into the post and then defensively until he was a menace as you'd expect but to do it against trae young just the place he was making on the roll guys a couple times as the law was in the air from he was just incredibly impressive yet. Turner good see him. Finding his rhythm with Savona is the one thing you noted here that I think is important is six the defensive rebounds. John's is a team that really struggled on the defensive glass. That young as good as he was defensively wasn't really great defensive. Rebounder Turner is a horrible defensive rebounder. So it seems like the Turner and Sa- Bonus together minutes a and bonuses defensive rebounding overall every help them in that area to be six in defense of rebates massive upgrade from last year. And if you just filter down to this this six game stretch which would be his last two weeks. Since the last fifteen sixty they're also they're also fifth overall so that's that's it's a an important thing for them in and your the the numbers have been good but the reason I looked up for it one of the one play that prompted me as they were They put on the bond entree young and then Turner was the one who ended up on the other side of the floor to to contest. The three and I didn't get the rebound so seeing a play like that Kinda made you wonder at the same time Turkey. Turner make a play like that certainly as well as his capabilities but then if they're really relying on him to do so much of that whereas maybe SA- bonus you're not so much you wouldn't want him running out together with three point three point line. It's interesting to see if if more of those plays happen happened to pile up against the really good pick and roll guys in the best. The best scores so as good as the bucks are playing. It's looking like they really messed up. By Letting Malcolm Brogdon go twenty two. Pr Fifty nine percent. Sure she was even in our discussion a little bit for all NBA when we did our awards last week. Twenty six percent usage a really has opt his consumption offensively. I yeah those are some pretty crazy numbers getting a ton of assistance. While how's he been doing it right now I mean he's he's shooting the ball really well from all over the court and if he can mean is another one of these this guy is kinda right at fifty percent for mid range right now so if if some of the two point jump shooting kind of comes down to Earth a little bit that would be kind of one thing that you would expect. He is is parameters economies. Eight twenty nine on pull up threes in just like seeing him really. I mean shoot any of those. It was maybe a little bit surprised than it's kind of a big. It's it's GonNa be a big swing thing to to make him more of a more of a big time option for one thing I can say on that. That's interesting is thirty three percent from three this year you mentioned genetic his volume has gone up a at least in terms of the raw number of times is actually percentage of his shots threes or Donald. But because he is doing more driving he has the Baltimore. But that's as you'd expect right. He was shooting this forty percent from three coming into the season in Milwaukee but we always thought hey maybe he could take more attempts he could be more dynamic dynamic and he's added a Lotta these off the dribble threes. As you said. I thought I always wanted to do more. Catch shoot guy in Milwaukee as well. But that's but that's fine though. I mean I think he was. He needed to take more you can have that. three-point percentage go down a little bit And still be really effective inhabit. Help your team. And he just looked so confident with handle to throw the other the thing just to reject screens to be confident. If a guy's really up into him to still that he has that screens coming still confident to make a move to go either way the way. It's not just sometimes putting a guy in jail but when he kind of turns the corner and take that kind of quick feint back towards the guide really load up to take your last step exploded the rim like seeing seeing little little plays like that for him it just it really looks like hits hits his show how is deter about US thing looking. So they're they're more plays as were circling back to Atlanta game as Atlanta had some strip stretches really did more switching. There were some moments not not to pick on Drawn remember but there or a few times a Turner really one of the ball in the post against him and he missed a couple chances earlier in the game and he had two chances against your bar. Sorry who was more just the base matchup hit two jumpers over him. And you just see you see some plays where the Utah game was fascinating too with Bomba diverged on Turner's the base matchup. And again those other. When you can tell you just he wanted the ball and there were moments in that Atlanta game where he was really working hard to get deep position? And then it's easy easy to say that those look really good in those can be helpful to them but if he just wants to catch at twelve feet out. It's really hard to get a good shot. against some of those bigger wings to he's got porzingas disease a little bit and just as inability to back down again. Some of these guys in just the it just feels at the end of the day it just you it. It just helps if he's gonNA shoot three because with Savona such as the role guy and and just the guy pick and roll like Caitlin Cooper had this great piece in espy let's be nation about Bonuses screening but him as the decision maker to when Brogden oil depot. Whoever gets trapped in turn can be the guy who's WHO's out there maybe in a pick and pop op but also spacing out it? Just everything will just flow so much. More seamless house Their bench looking. I know they've been playing holiday and McConnell together a lot with some of the guys that they've had out lately the three most recent games or three of the most recent recent games Utah Atlanta Philly the little bit of of all bench with Google with holiday playing in the first half only in the second half when I got out of hand against Utah. Those groups assist a lot of TJ McConnell. And and you and Danny talked about like Rubio. The other day where Phoenix just kind of have to put on his hands and sometimes with McConnell it becomes too much when the ball just always in his hands but at the same time I think tank the question might be if they get if they end up putting TJ Warren This little bit more. I think than it might kind of pose the question if the people not guarding McConnell may become too much problem they wanna Kinda let those guys prop up those groups. Yeah you'd think it'd be McConnell WHO's GONNA lose minutes when Ola depot it doesn't fat come back the latest on him he's still says I'm waiting just the usual platitudes when it feels right. I'll come back Bob la but it does seem like it's trending being in that direction. Where is doing a lot of practicing it? I would imagine he'll be back at some point this month. And then McConnell when you have a deep author you can do Stagger Brogden an older depot. While then you still got holiday. WHO's a larger part of their future and is also a better shooter? So McConnell has really done a great job of keeping them afloat and I think in the regular season when you're not as focused on just not guarding him where you're going to react to some of those drives where he's not really a threat to finish a he can still be a pretty effective player. Are they gotTA teams. Missed a on bring him in and said you know it's a third point guard role there anything else. You looked at it on these guys before we get just to just to hit on the terms of honest thing that this this number number was maybe a little lower than I would've expected that the that that starting five with Brogdon Warren and lamb on the wings their only. They're still on the one hundred seventeen minutes on the the season especially with Turner having that that absence with an ankle injury. So it's still. It's still pretty pretty early. It's early over off everybody but especially for for that starting group. Yeah I I mean. With Turner Lamb Miss Basically like half the season brogden heads.

"Those two recent asking he owns and not as hurt by the two. They lost twice to the Hornets Hornets Hornets over baby by a combined. Four points over right before those to win. I mean when you have that sense of sort of a sequence I think the Pistons with Blake on the floor and I mentioned mentioned the one fifteen offensive rating. They have a plus five point four net rating and they were above water. They were above neutral last year two with Griffin on the four and now they have a much better bench to me. They did last year. Yeah I mean the the upgrade from Pachulia to would for example Reggie Jackson is still out for them. Obviously but they haven't needed him. I think they're getting enough from from Brown and then rose is probably gonNA close games for them when it's close now. Health is always a concern when they really went into the tank earlier. This year rose was goes out. Jackson was out griffin was just coming back so griffin is going to miss time roses going to miss time. That's just the reality of the situation Luke. Kennard is having a really nice season. This team shoots the ball Paul. Pretty darn well it would is going to drop off. Nobody shoots eighty two percent at the rim for an entire season or forty percents. Three for that matter at least on on any kind of volume. But you gotta be happier if you are a pistons fan other than the fact that they have already won three point. Four fewer games than expected. Give you some context for that. That is one point. Four wins worse-than-expected than any other team in the NBA. Portland next with with negative two point. Oh an identical Michael Eytan thirteen record for Portland as well. We could talk about the wizards next. I've seen them in person on Saturday night or Sunday night against since the clippers one of their game against the magic less light also. They're six and thirteen three and five in their last eight. Negative five point one net rating is twenty four in the NBA. A fourth on offense although in the last two weeks or so they have been going down a little bit. There and defensive rating is now right where we hoped it would be all all year thirtieth in the NBA one seventeen defensive rating. That would be the worst of all time still projected for a healthy thirty two wins five three. It's been higher on them then. I have been through much of the season and twenty percent chance at the playoffs. But they're going to be without Thomas Bryant and C. J. Miles for some time here we I mean especially in. CJ's case we'll start. It was almost. Brian is the more important player. He has a stress reaction in his right foot. He will be reevaluated in three weeks so that means that it probably will be longer than that I i. I don't know how much longer. But the and this gets into issue. Exacerbated in the magic game because Mo- Wagner was out so they basically had no centers they end up playing Husham were there a lot and then was for. Cj He had surgery to repair damage in his left wrist. The timeline there is four months. That's what candace faulkner and I think what the team is announced and when you have a four-month injury with four and a half to five months left in the season it on a team. That probably isn't going to make the playoffs. It is very easy to see that. Potentially being a full season injury for for C. J. Miles he might wanna come back because he is a pending unrestricted free agent. But we'll we'll see where it goes yet. Maybe you could see a buyout. There with him ultimately gently a team that needs some shooting could potentially have some interests but in Kosovo four months from now will be what that be March April four months now would she would be early to mid March December January February. Oh you're right. I counted hunting baby. I'm so good at that Shit. Yeah so That probably means that it is season really would be. I mean those those wrist injuries take Wada. He'll he's a shooter. It is his left. Wrist is shooting rest with Bryant out Wagner has been missing time with sprint ankle. That's a short term issue. But he didn't play either last two games wagner crazes to say. They might be their best defensive center at least take some charges. Thomas Bryant provides basically no resistance. John Shuman posited the idea that maybe they'd get better defensively without bright right and I think if there were a normal team that might be true but they have no other senators who are available. And they're playing Hachi Mura and batons at center in that game against the magic and they give up a buck twenty seven to the magic. The Magic Danny not exactly an offensive juggernaut. This season without Nicole of which in particular reattaching Murray did have a career high on Sunday night was left in as they gave up a buck. Fifty to the wizards are absurd to the clippers. But I thought he did some nice things playing more at the big Bam positions. That's what he was in college. I think helps them. He got some plays growing to the rim for some big dunks. A that looked a little bit better. Yeah he had a nice drive where he faced up and he likes to get to that. MID ENGINED DID HITS AMID Rangers in this game but he also was able to rip it through drive users the shoulder get it into the guy and it was good to see do that because he was working on that specific move with the coaches pre-game where they're saying. Hey No you gotta get your shoulder into the guy knocking backwards. That's what he did had protected the ball and went up for layup thought in isolation against Leonard. He looked pretty good now. You can just set a screen. He's probably not going to get through the screen but he does have the physical tools to stay with you. Know Your Leonard's and comes in just a straight EYESO- but the question becomes is he going to get through screen. He does very little as a help defender under perhaps playing more as big man during this stretch with Brian out can help him to hone those instincts as a helped him really did play is pretty much straight for a in college. They drafted him before. He's head to play some three because they had some issues. Troy Brown did not start the second half in that game against the clippers. They went with Bonga after after. Paul George put up twenty seven in the first half and think it was necessarily troy bronze fault but he ended up. Being the scapegoat. Seems like Scott Brooks has kind of an idea that he's a little bit soft soft had some comments. About how hard Banga competes. And that's why he was brought in there kind of passive aggressive shot at Troy. I don't know if you saw the moment in the magic game when Michael Carter Williams basically straight line drove past brown just went I in my brain just went. Oh no IT'S A. It's a small sample. But it'd be by Carter. Williams can be getting some drives moments at the time but it's part of the theory of Troy Brown is he should be able to stop guys like that at bare minimum. Yeah so I mean he's GonNa play because they don't have anyone else at the organization as an investment. But he hasn't been that that good that he had a couple of creative finishes at the Rim of the clippers but overall this season he's shooting bought fifty percent at the basket and doesn't really look like he's very as shoot. I watch some shootaround pregame and it doesn't really look like his three pointer. Is there yet as well. He's going to be taking at his form. Doesn't look awful but I mean the the ball just doesn't really go in for him at at this point in time and it and it never really has in his career going back to even to his time at ordinaries the job. I'm not saying the jump shot. It's never going to get there. But it's certainly a work in progress. So if he's not a shooter and he can't really do that much on the ball and he's not a defensive stopper is really more to guard size and three size. Certainly at this point doesn't really help you win. Maybe needs more on ball wraps ups but I don't know if he has quite enough juice there. I think he might be sort of been the Jack of all trades master of none area overalls a prospect. The wizards defense fence seeing it in person against a high powered team like the clippers. I it's just hopeless for them. It's not even that they're all these scheme issues. Necessarily they weren't just like giving giving up wide open. Back cuts are miscommunication. There was just each individual. Had No chance at stopping their guy and and when the rare times that that individual was guarded by someone the one who had chance of stopping them they just involved I thomas into screen like every transition situation that Paul George dribbled up he just found Isaiah. Thomas says guy got a screen from them. They went under Paul. George just hit it three. That's part I. We got to the twenty seven points but was scoring all over them quiet and PG both at thirty and as mentioned they put up a buck fifty in a game that was not competitive. What exacerbates what? Exacerbates things for the wizards and this is similar to Cleveland last year which had just a spectacularly bad defenses. They don't anybody who can clean up the messes either. So if you give up that initial penetration which they do all the time then. Congratulations getting something and that becomes a problem. I haven't like the wizards transition edition defense. Either they're just there. There are bad defense and we'll and when you say clean up the messes they've no room production and nobody get defensive. Rebound right yes so there. That's the big problem in their fouling. Allot their their bottom ten with their twentieth or worse than all four defensive. Four factors believe there's only team in the NBA that that's true for the actually actually somehow at least according to baseball reference our fifteenth enforcing terms may be cleaned. The glossy. Yeah I think that's I think that's garbage. Time cleaning has a mid twentieth okay. Yeah the those I I just want to take a brief second where we I mean. We've been hammering their defense but it's worth hammering that they have the number four offense in the NBA and it's not that they're below sea level on net rating. They're they were getting out scored by five point one point from possessions with the number four offense in the league. That is incredible. Yeah I mean there have been teams that have been a top five offense and I've had losing records a I think a couple of people have looked at that recently but yet I mean that's that's a pretty There's like a golden state team in the two thousand. Just went all offense with their lineups kind of the way. The Wizards have had to Scott Brooks was asked pre-game for that clippers game while I have you ever considered because you're not stopping anyone anyway. Maybe just going like all offense and he he said wasn't that what we're doing right now. And then he said Channel Allen Iverson is like defense defense does after he got his Jersey retired at UC Irvine the the day before. So maybe maybe he was in a nice mood at least until after they give up a buck fifty them. Maybe we should do. Let's do let's do the sixers fifteen and six seven one since last fifteen sixty there plus five point seven net rating is eighth in the NBA Seventeenth. An offense now to third needed defense member they were. I think something like eight or nine the last time we did this. And five hundred eight projects from two and fifty seven which will be third in the in the East and we've we've talked a fair amount about the a six yrs recently because we've did their game for the NBA cast and everything else. But there still are storylines worth discussing and wanted to look at Joel embiid. I decided to focus focused on him after he had that miserable. ofr Eleven zero point night against the mark a couple of weeks ago and in that game. They're late-game offense was Josh. Richardson pick and rolls shooting from the free throw line. That's good defense at Toronto. Obviously and I also noted after we talked about their game against Utah that embiid is somewhat susceptible to a really good defense and they don't have a great way to get an easy buckets especially with discrepancy. Think about Danny what their lineup looked like for are seventeen eighteen and then the beginning of last year versus now. Yeah they got Butler about a month into the season last year but even then they still had. Jj redick available double before that it was rettig. Sharon Covington Simmons and embiid which was a really good lineup. That was a lot of that killed people in Seventeen eighteen they had marco falls. Oh thank you a two but then he. He was out of their relatively quickly last year. So that was really a lineup. Even with Simmons that level shooting was probably about as good as you could hope for when you're also going to have some embiid out there Now of course it's much different. Their defense is a lot better. Certainly I think they'd be better overall team. But as far impedes numbers It's more difficult in terms of his post. OPS numbers are actually a little bit better this series doing it more thirty five percent of the time instead of thirty percent last year. You're spotting up more this year on the museum in no spying up just a little bit less this year but shooting. The three ball will but better where he really has struggled Gould last year he was a really bad roll..

Okay I really want to get right into this here talking about the game last night between between the heat and raptors. Yeah so so. Let's do that by starting with Miami's fundamentals just so just so we don't forget the heat are fifteen and five six into since the last fifteen and sixty there plus five point seven net rating is seventh in the NBA. They are tempted offense. Eight and defense fivethirtyeight model projects them to win. Forty nine games aims which would be fifth-place in the Eastern Conference and projects that they are going to make the playoffs so they got that fifteen and five record at the expense of the Toronto Raptors who also now sit acidic fifteen in five ended up being eleven point victory for the heat but it went into overtime he controlled it. Most of the way and had a solid lead late late in the game before Toronto Roared Back Couple of Norman Pol three pointers. Were key in that but some general takeaways from this one Bam out of bio starts to power Ford for Miami and Pascal CIOCCI. I'm really could not do much against him I thought he was only five fourteen in thirty nine minutes and it got to the point where this guy is being touched by an MVP candidate. He's a little below that level. Certainly but they stop throwing the ball essentially against Bamut a bio. I thought they could have done.

"Would have expected. I also wasn't super familiar with them at Zona as a shooter. So one point one point Brenda possession per one point one points per possession as a spot up guy. That's very good happy with that. Ben pretty effective coming off screens in isolation. Isos, oh, you know. Like, that's true. You know, I think this is instructive so ice ozo-. He is seventy nine th percentile at one point per possession as an isolation player, but that one point per possession is still lower than he is like a spot up shooter. And a lot of other things it's just that isolated that aren't that effective overall? So you kind of piece that together with the fact that he's like his shooting. His looked very good. You know, he's making thirty nine percent of his threes about twenty six percent of his shots. Also getting to the line a lot forty three percent free throw rate. Eighty percent free throw shooter averaging fifteen point since the all-star break above average shooting. And so you have all that like there's a lot of pieces of that that I really like he's been not he's been hasn't been super -ffective as a transition score. I we ended up. I was so interested in that. I watched a bunch of film, kind of like the Aaron Gordon pick and roll thing from the fifteen from the other part of the fifteen sixty and what I noticed was. He is very comfortable driving into traffic and just gets himself caught into cut into problems. If he could just take out the like, the the the bottom ten percent of the like decisions that he makes in those sorts of circumstances. It would look a lot better. He does a lot of no hoping type stuff there, which is concerning. But I think you can tone that out of his game. You still want him to grab and go you still want him to push a little bit. You know, especially at six five, you know, you if he can get the ball you wanna do that. But just avoid the worst decisions. But then the part that I ended up also getting really interested in because this team is terrible. And I mean, everybody kind of knows that is that the the kind of the on off stats despise Alonzo tree. So he's negative native two point six P I P M puts him, you know, in the bottom seventy five of the league. He is one oh nine out of one fourteen in RPM among shooting guards. And something that I found fascinating is that. PI PM has in worrying negative on offense than defense, which I would not have expected in RPM has it the opposite way. So I think sometimes in this was true with your FOX last year that sometimes when a players on the team this bad. It can be trouble. It can be hard to separate out is he batters. Is it somebody else, you know, it's apportioning blame apportioning credit? But I mean, if I were to and why this all matters is I mean beyond the fact that it's, you know, he's an MBA player is because the way that his contract is structured the Knicks have a three point six million dollars team option, which I believe has an early decision date. I think it's like June twentieth or something like that. And it's as I understand it. It's a fully guaranteed team option. So that means they have to choose between picking it up. And then you have that on your books, and we know about what they wanna do or they could decline that. And you're not going to decline that make him restricted free agent because doing that actually gives him a higher cap number. So they have to probably make this decision in mid June middle June of do we want this guy for? Three point six million. And that's a tough decision that they didn't have to create for themselves. Yeah. I think the concern was that they would convert him unilaterally, and the they wouldn't have the means to match a contract to him because they basically only have the room exception any contract longer than three years. They wouldn't be able to match i-in really to be honest. If you thought he was that good. I mean, I guess they still maybe they should have just kept it on the two way and tried to hide them a little bit..

"He's not giving you anything defensively. I mean, I think if anything athletism Wise's regressed from his sons days the fact that he's only shooting fifty six percent at the rim seeing a lot of shots there. But I mean, that's a truce for a guy his size and one thing. I noted about him coming out of college was yelling, he could dunk. It looked really good. But he wasn't really the best touch finisher around the room. And that's clearly been the case here in Cleveland as well. And then the three pointer is not going down. I was really hopeful that his shooting would come around in the NBA, and the he could be a high thirty three point shooter. I thought his stroke looked really good in Washington and from the college point line, and I think the NBA three point line is just been difficult for him to stretch that out for whatever reason. And we're at the point now where it's you can't really believe that he's gonna be a solid sheer. So I if. If I mean to me, I'll dis even worth a roster spot next year at this point unless things really turn over this next month, or so I would agree with you. And I hope that if he wants to keep playing, and he certainly has fiscal talent to keep playing somewhere other than the NBA that he could be a player who just has to get a lot better in Europe or somewhere else. Now, I don't think China would be the best thing for him. Just in terms of the improvements that are necessary to become an NBA player. But I've been physical town is there, but he's going to have to work his ass off. Because there's a long way between what he has been. And what he needs to be which is a good thing for players to kind of understand. Hopefully, he can get that. Hopefully, the the season can be a a reality check. There just be about what the time he puts in. We will close this out with the New York knickerbockers, they are fourteen and fifty seven two in nine since the last fifteen sixty though that doesn't include a triumphant win over the Lakers. I am good to finish their sats. Then we'll talk about that negative nine point seven rating puts them thirtieth in the league dead last in offense. Twenty is defense, and they're not gonna finish last. Because there they would have to basically just like walk off the court every defensive possession to to pass the Cavs fivethirtyeight projects them to win seventeen games. Which would put them actually three games. Clear of everybody else for the worst record in the league now tanking and other you know, like some of the adjustments could end up doing that. But also the other teams around them are playing better and they've been eliminated from the playoffs in that Lakers game data big first quarter to get forty one something like that. In the first quarter moody at twenty eight points in the game Dotson had twenty five on twenty shots and Mario his own blocked. Lebron on the final possession of the game and stared him down a little bit which was pretty glorious as the archbishop of the church. That was always it's always a nice moment. The also did that without Dennis Smith Smith vis three straight games with a sore lower back. We'll Mussa fourth Frank on Wednesday against the jazz. Yeah. And then Frank Nakina still out with his groin issue. Von Louis had a sprained ankle against the Spurs did not play against the Lakers. So they're they're dealing with. A different kind of combination of guys. So they're kind of a couple of different threads that we want to talk about the next might as well start with their editions. Which in this case are Dennis Smith and de'andre, Jordan. We're not really gonna count John Jenkins and Henry Ellison. Also, noting actually that Neil Kinnock finally has been cleared to return to practice. So a zoom having missed so much time. They'll ease him back in the Smith fourteen point six points, six assists in thirty minutes game. Similar miss what he was playing in Dallas usages up. True shooting is down. It's been the three point percentage. That's been the major problem for but only forty six percent twos. While in that's probably the most worrisome, but and obviously they've sucked with him on the floor. But you know there. He's also playing with Kevin docks who might be one of the most damaging players in the league this season..

"But as of right now, they are actually two points per one hundred worse than the ninety ninety one Denver Nuggets team that comes up quite frequently. When we are talking about bad defensive records. They once gave up a hundred and seven points and a half to the Phoenix Suns that years, they always come up with a when a team puts up just a ton of points in the first half. Like, no, I don't think anyone's ever going to break that record of one oh seven in a first half. And I mean that team that was Paul Westphal. You got hired. I've loyal Marymount after they had that incredible run, which of course, was ended. It up being sold by the ink gathers situation, but Westfall got hired again he'd been the coach Lakers used the guy who actually Magic Johnson got fired from the Lakers than he resurfaced in college. That Loyola Marymount team had a magical term it run before they got killed by Nellie in nineteen ninety. But then he got hired at the NBA in brought that system to the nuggets. And that was not in that. I did not have a lot of talent. But Michael Adams, put up some counting sets at your Hanky might have actually even made the all star team, which was kind of embarrassment. But anyway, this team is two points one hundred positions worse than that team that basically was playing that loyal Marymount shoot the moment that you get it type style and not even bothering with defense. So that that is pretty remarkable. Sorry to interrupt you there. But you know, that's that's fine. And they're they're they're three points per hundred possessions about two point eight clear of everyone else in the league discipline? So yeah, this is a that is a better offense team. And that's a bigger margin. You know than than I think we've seen on the offensive end greatest like some of those warriors teams have been like. That's pretty remarkable. And then obviously the league average is was well better than that. A couple of injury things for them. Delvin Elvas missed five straight games with a concussion lenience junior is dealing with a rib contusion he didn't play against Dallas. And then he also didn't play against the pistons. But it seems like he's like more of like a late late scratch type of thing rather than that. He's like it'd be about. So he might come back soon. Tristan Thompson also didn't play in in those recent games. But he could be coming back soon from foot soreness he's missed a bunch of time and actually Kevin love didn't play against businesses. Well, it was without love without Griffin. So they started Osman at the four they're playing Osman WADA Brandon Knight, call Sexton in on as each and that's a worthwhile lead into their deadline. Editions we won't spend as much time on them for a couple of obvious reasons. Brandon Knight has started fifteen of sixteen games as a member of the Cavs. He is averaging eight point six points two point four assists in twenty one minutes game. And I think the most. Thing for me with him is that it's looks like he could be or will be in Cleveland's rotation next year. They don't have a ton of roster flexibility. They don't even really have a mechanism to swap him for like a unless they wanted to take a longer contract like they're getting pretty much against in terms of the tax, and I don't think he should start. I mean, not if they want to be any good but capable rotation guy. He's made forty two percent of his threes which are half of his shots career thirty six percent. So it's it's better than you'd expect. But not ridiculous. And you know, he's been been above average officiency seventeen percent usage. So, you know, more of like that off ball guard who can be a secondary creator. But considering the injury history that had gone through and everything else as a member of you know, various teams the pistons the sons over the last couple years, it's it's good to see him actually on the court doing decently. Well, less decently. Well has been Markey's Chris eighteen minutes game extra started to sixteen games. Probably his biggest contribution was getting surgery. Baca throw it out a. Toronto game that they also want some points, five rebounds, but only fifty percent shooting and the whole point of Markey's Chris at this point he's supposed to be in Finnish officiant finisher..

"Usage in thirteen games. Interestingly his scoring he's gotten a lot more efficient, but he is straight has not gone up at all. It's actually almost identical to what it was in the early stretch of the season. And it is good that he's making more twos. He's up to forty eight percent since the all-star break, which is a lot better than earlier in the season. And then the other big part of me, he was you know, thirty nine percent three point shooter before the all-star break. Now, he's since then up to forty six percent from there. Now, I don't expect really for anybody. It'd be Forty-six, and he was that was a huge part of their win against the pistons when he was five or six, but it is good to see Sexton. And also, I think we talked about this. The last time we talked about the Cavs that he's gotten a lot better at driving for cyst one of the big buckets in that Cleveland game. He drove not looking. I mean, obviously, the shot was dairy would've taken it. But he drove. And then he kicked it out. I think it was to Nawada and then WADA moved it to Chetty Osman who made the three which I think put them up five or something like that. And those plays have to be a part of Colin Sexton's repetoire, no matter where his game goes sports nam on Twitter had this that Sexton from February sixth on has really changed his shot profile before then a ton amid Rangers which he wasn't hitting a ton of and also shooting extremely poorly at the rim. He's now she more shots in the lane floaters inch shots at the rim. Any shooting a loop it better percentage than he was an obviously those three pointers, but he's taking a lot more threes, perhaps emboldened by the fact that he's making them. So that is one reason to believe that this is a little bit more fundamental of a change here when his shot profile has changed. And of course, what what has happened. Kevin love is returned. And I think that's given a lot more room for him to get all the way to the rim, and you know, perhaps. So and gotten his ear and said, hey, you're taken to an even Rangers chill out here as press the same way as when hey you're taking too many difficult shots at the rim. He need to look to pass it. But I mean love is just so much better than anyone else. They've had in. They've been playing some lineups where they're playing with two bigs who aren't three point shooters or the spacing that loves provided is really underrated especially for team like this that is so bad. Did we do we did all their fundamentals, right? The cavs. I'm trying to remember I well, I know it did. No, I think I just did their record. And then I got sidetracked by the pistons game. I'll go through the negative nine point five net rating is twenty ninth in the league twenty-fourth an offense dead last in defense. Oh, they're projecting that did last in defense. That's not for just this season. That's for all time. And granted this is one of the highest in ES highest office of arguments we've ever had. And I don't know where they stand now as far as relative to the rest of the league..

"Like lot is rookie year this year. It's eighteen percent. I mean, that's not an those aren't necessarily great those aren't great shots anyway. But also he's was thirty four percent on those last. Year forty three this year. Neither one of those strong. And yeah, I mean, you brought up his three point attempt rate and all that stuff. Also, he shot thirty six percent on threes last year. Thirty six percent this year and fifty percent on twos. Forty-nine percent this year. So there is still a lot. I mean there there's a lot you can take from the positive stretches here and he's still this age twenty one season. But I mean, it's it is remarkable kind of like with the you always want, especially as a fan of a particular team, or in particular player, you want to take a lot from those positive stretches and think that's that's what this is. And you know, the reason to believe that he will have a lot more of those stretches moving forward, but you have to look at the whole thing because you a player doesn't have these like, you know, they don't play just a series of hot Achim stretches for the rest of it. There's random variance and everything else also worth noting for more common. This is interesting that when he plays center negative e points of never ending which not much worse than what they are for the season. But first percentile hundred Twenty-three defensive reading per leaning the glass when he plays. Center. They follow ton in particular when he's out there at center and teams shoot fifty nine point to eat vehicle percentage, which is about as bad as it gets as well. So certainly this team doesn't have the wing size that could help you defend around someone like marketing at center, but the evidence is indicated so far that he has failed and some of those include playing with Bobby Portis as well or he's barked as the center when he played with Puertas that might not be fair, but anybody played how to play defense sex about report is probably fair, actually. But it doesn't look like that's going to be a viable unit anytime soon unless they really get a lot more defensive reinforcements around. Let's jump to the next team the Cleveland Cavaliers they are eighteen and fifty three four and seven in the last fifteen in sixty including a win over the Blake Griffin list Detroit Pistons on Monday night and a game. When when Colin Sexton put up some numbers. I mean, a lot of a lot of guys did for for the pistons Texan at twenty seven on ten. Sixteen from the field. And that's actually a place to start again. Sympathizes perspective, all that stuff Sexton since the all-star break has numbers. His scoring numbers are a lot better twenty points a game sixty percent shooting. Fifty fifty nine percent shooting on twenty six percent.

"This is the stat that I thought absolutely crazy in done was supposed to be this physical marvel at the point guard position. He's taken more than three free throw attempts in a game only three times this entire season. And that is just. I can't believe that. I know how it could be possible of for a starting point guard. So it looks like certainly the bulls. I don't think they'll move on from Deke could be a capable backup. But it appears that he is no longer in their plans as the starter. And rightfully so Lauri. Markkanen has had a very interesting stretch of late. He hit twenty points in eleven straight games. And then prior to the game against Phoenix failed to hit twenty in eight straight. I think he didn't in that Phoenix can either. But this is before that Venise game part of the problem in that latest stretch twenty six percent from three and above the break has been really bad twenty four percent ten out of forty one up there. But even during that really hot streak has above the break. Three was not amazingly thirty three percent. The distribution of his shots has changed somewhat who's finishing seventy one percent at the rim during the hot streak and three three percent of his shots. They're down to twenty five percent of his shots and still finishing while at the rim there, and then what's really killed him. Is the two point jumper has been way off seven of twenty to paint non restricted one of eleven. So it looks like he's just not making shots. I'm not that worried about that. I think he was hitting perhaps at a slightly unsustainable rate before this dealer thing, though, is that he's not getting the foul line as much during that nice stretch that he had he had more than six three times five times in eleven games in only two games with less than five. And now in this recent stretch, the most he's taken a six free throw attempts, and he's had a lot of two to three four. So I think really the free throw line in terms of how he's actually playing seems like the biggest part to me how much he's actually a attacking the basket as we saw the lower percentage of shots at the rim. But if you look at his overall numbers other than four percent higher usage, which is good. He was like twenty one percent last year. Twenty five percent this year pretty much every number is just a ball identical to his rookie year shot selection. Three point percentage. Thirty six percent both years little bit lower. Dunk rate this year actually than he had last year. So we'll see I think again, you have to look at the overall picture here. There was a thought he was coming back from the elbow injury. That's why is really struggling when he went through that hot streak and head hop on that now man what a prospect this guy is and then he's dropped off a little bit again. So once again the caution to look at the larger sample size, even when there is a story reason like ice coming back from injury. And now he's good again. A to not get carried away with something like that something else. I want to keep my eye on with Markkanen is that so he is getting to the line more. He's free throw ten trade has gone up meaningfully this year, but his personal shots at the rim has gone down. Sometimes that's you know, you're converting your converting drives into fouls instead of shots at the rim. So so be it. But also, he shooting a lot more floaters, you know. So that was twelve percent of his distribution before this year..

"We have the Chicago Bulls. The bulls are twenty and fifty two four eight since the last fifteen in sixty twenty-seventh in net rating negative point nine twenty seven defense shark twenty seventh and offense twenty fifth and defense. They are projected to win twenty three games. They aren't making the playoffs. And they they bought the sons on on Monday that was it was a bigger lead. But then being wants Ecksteen one to one before that they had lost six out of seven and that will win out of the seven was by one point. And they've gotten worked in a lot of those games. Good news for them. Zach LeVine returned on Friday. So he's played in three games since he since he return from that. Right patellar, tendon, strain, thirty one against the clippers eighteen against sac, and then seventeen against the sons in that win. And I think the the place though to start really with them is how they've looked. And how Otto porter has looked since they brought him in a dude. What eventually one thing the Jim Boylan? I got. Simultaneously objected with Doc Rivers after jawing with him back and forth. And then after calling a time out with forty seconds left. I guess just to get his starters out of the game. In theory. He read NATO an Kokoschka was annoyed at bullet for calling the time out head is team intentionally filed blow up the and then walked off the court before Jim Boylan could do the little coach wave thing. So boil it does not appear to be a particularly popular figure among his coaching brethren. Perhaps there is also a feeling though, I never heard any actual evidence to support this that he undermined Fred Hoiberg in some fashion. But yeah porter has been fantastic in. We talked about how he was going to make this team a lot better. Add he's a good case for why the new lottery rules that have helped little bit. I don't know if the bulls, maybe they would have just acquired a but not played in that much. But I don't know if the he could be having the same positive impact under the old rules when they really be tanking. His heart as they possibly could. And considering what they've had at the three basically for the last two years since Jimmy Butler was traded. He's really helped them be a lot better. Puertas started all fifteen games. He has played in Chicago averaging eighteen points five and a half rebounds in thirty three minutes a game eighteen P E R sixty one true shooting on twenty twenty one and a half usage. True shootings about in line with his last two seasons in Washington. But not surprisingly higher usage rate. He was in the high teens as a wizard, but he he moves higher in the pecking order Elena less talented team. A big part of what has been driving his affective. Now auto Puerto has been a strong three point shooter for a couple years now, but he's making forty nine percent of them. So far as a bull taking about eight hundred processions that's forty percent of his shot. So would expect some regression there. But it is worth noting. That depends on how you're seeing it in terms of the full season. Versus bulls tenure Puerto now for the whole season is up to forty eight percent from three that's actually below what he did. His last two full years on the wizards won. So if you want to say, yeah, he's gonna. Yeah. Forty one percent. So forty one percent for the season forty nine percent bowl. And so last year he was last year he was at forty or forty four and then forty three the year before that. So, you know, the overall picture is probably pretty close, but that that parts there, and even if it was forty one if that ease forty-one percent three point shooter at his frequency. That's great. You know, you're you're happy with that. It's obviously better if it's a little there. And then what's interesting with with Puerto also is that the bulls have looked very good offensively. Now, it's a different part of the year. I mean, we're seeing the Elford Peyton triple double experience in New Orleans. But you know, the the bulls having a one fourteen offensive rating importers minutes they played over thousand possessions now with them on the floor..

"Percent on catching shoot thirty three percent on pull ups, and then the more important part of that really is once they got John Collins back and Collins just provided a level of dynamism and competence that they didn't have at the power forward position. He's played Tim center too. But at power Ford when train Collins play together one twelve offensive rating, which is sixty eighth percentile using cleaning the glasses garbage time filters and their their defense sucks. That's why they have a negative two point three rating despite an above average offense. And when you look at what they're really good at. So you have this dynamic offense in terms of affected field goal percentage and offensive rebound percentage. I mean, they're dominant in both of those things. But the big question is can they clean up their turnovers. I think that's the something that I want to watch me in this hawks team has been just sidetracked by all year, and they have to figure something out because they have these other pieces together authencity defensively, they have a whole bunch of stuff. And you know, I like a lot of the lot of what they're putting at the table, especially when they play with Kevin Herger, obviously there are three core. Guys are Collins young and her all through those guys very offense focused, and they're going to need to find some defensive upgrades. Dwayne deadman is somewhat in that vein. But I mean, there's going to need an awesome three at an awesome five. They're going to be able to compete with this group defensively, and maybe you'll see her in the flea foreign version of this team move into more of a scoring roll off the bench. Ben Taylor did a video. Entree young. I love his videos. I recommend checking those out thinking basketball thing is is YouTube channel he did have a couple of most what he said about trae young. He's been lower on him than I have first of all he said that trae young is the worst defensive player that he's ever seen which is that is that is really tough. Because bet as watch a lot of basketball. I wouldn't quite go that far just because I do think he has at least some instinct for getting steals. But yeah, I mean he is quite atrocious. He doesn't get over screens. He is actually very physical offense something that Ben noted in his video in terms of his free throw rate that does how he gets a lot of his his falls as I mentioned when we talked about him going back to his college career. He is the most advanced bullshit foul jar at his age that I had ever seen. I'd love to go back and look at like some old James harden film in two thousand ten and see if he was doing all the same crap that he does now. So I still think trae at least has some decent instincts, but yet due to his lack of height and his lack of strength and lack of explosiveness. Certainly he's going to be a defensive liability in a way that Steph curry who know certainly got a lot shorter. I think trae can get a lot stronger. That's the one thing you can do to help himself. A but Steph is six three in trae is nuts three. What else? Do you want to talk about these guys? Well, it's all mentioned also briefly that this is something I mentioned early pretty early in the season in fifteen sixty was that trae young hasn't been affective as a transition score. That is still true. You know, he's twentieth..

"Good with that. And then I mean what what's so interesting about Portas offensive role is he so he's taking seven threes one hundred possessions and making forty six percent of those. But he's also not getting. To the line at all. So like, he's you know, he's really a perimeter big. And he's still is so on offense. He has all that. And then he's not like agree rim-protector anything, but he is a wonderful defensive rebounder. So this is to me another example of unless you're really really good at that role. An example of the type of player that you're find having on your team, but you don't necessarily want to pay a lot of money to and Portis. The situation is different. Obviously doesn't have the injury history that does but also he is a restricted free agent. So the negotiations with him are meaningfully different. Because a lot of it is maybe you can Meyers. Leonard is a good example this, you know, negotiate separately. And maybe teams misread the market. But also you're somewhat dependent on how valued that specific individual is around the league. Yeah. Portas shoots jump shots, and he rebounds. Those are two skills doesn't do a ton Elsa. And yeah, he's been starting at center book. It's really tough to say dude, his lack of lateral quickness that he's better defensively at power forward. It's really gotta kinda slot him in on bunch units. If you're hoping to stop anybody where we go next. Here we go from the bottom of the alphabet to the top to the team that has not yet been eliminated from the playoffs. But I mean, they will be the Atlanta Hawks. They are twenty four and forty seven four and seven and philosophy teen in sixty twenty-six net rating twenty six offense twenty-seventh in defense and five hundred eighty projects them do in twenty six games which were put them twelfth in the east and the fifth worst record overall. And I mean, there are a lot of different things that we can talk about with the Atlanta Hawks. They are not only what my favorite teams to watch. But also just a fascinating one in terms of team building and who they have. And I think the place that I want to start as with trae young. He had this absolutely disastrous November from basically every perspective. I mean, he shot thirty six percent from the field twenty percent from three and you don't want to discount that all the way. I mean, the there was an interesting conversation competiton had this with I wish I could remember the other person's name. And basically like the takeaway that I got from it. And obviously they were using substance for this was the end of the season. Like, the second half is more predictive than the first I have let the whole cost Medvedetsky who was an antitrust lawyer in his day job. But yeah, they're awesome. Uson was that if you're trying to predict performance going forward around forty percent of first half performance and sixty percent second half for fourth is what your weight should be. And that injured Johnson looked at that as well for now in calculus, and that that's so much for all players. Really? You know, it's not really clear that that's true. More for rookies than anyone else that just your closer in time to the next season in the second half and make sense that that'd be a little bit more predictive. So that's the oh, you're not looking at what he did in the second half. And Josh Jackson is an example of a player looked better in the second half. And really was not able to take the next step here. But so yeah, wait the second half a little bit more. But don't forget about that. Half it as well. It seems to be the conclusion there are starting to hijacked up. But you know, how important it is for us to get names. Correct here. Yeah. And I think it's a it's a good conversation and good context for trae young in particular but looking at his full season numbers. It's getting closer to what we thought. I mean, I would say overall trae young has had a better season than I expected in his rookie year. I thought he was going to just suck because he's a young point guard..

"Art, let's start with the Washington Wizards who after a Dessel, Tori loss to the Utah Jazz last night, sit at thirty and forty one, but that's able six and five since last fifteen in sixty David Locke had this stat of those before they got throttled by Utah that they actually are number six in offense since John wall went down but overall on the season thirteenth offense negative to point five net rating twenty fourth and then twenty six on defense. They just do not have any decent defensive personnel. At this point. I maybe Trevor Aretha is the only one. Thought they actually defended pretty well in that Utah game with the starters out there. And then and they've been starting Bobby Portis at center, we'll talk about that a little bit more. But once they went to their bench with Troy Brown who is actually been positive on the season from net rating sample, he's played about five hundred minutes, but looked really bad defensively in this game. Gerard parker? Thomas bryant's. You're not gonna be able to stop anybody with that group. And that's when Utah managed to pull away I thought Utah also didn't awesome job defending Bill last night about in the competitive portion of the game. I think he was had seven points news like one out of seven, and they just what they were doing was preventing Bill from coming off the pinned down by top siding. And basically if you're just standing on top of an basically giving them a backdoor cut, but then they got rid of go bare back there if he does go back door. So you did a great job of defending Bill, but overall Beale has been really really good day since the all-star break. Yeah. I mean, he has an absolutely incredible workload. I mean. Especially considering to what we thought, you know bills. Role would be since the all-star break. He's playing forty minutes a game. And remember this team has two percent chance of making the playoffs. Like, this is this is a very the though they had a better chance earlier, you know, the other teams of my better anyway, forty minutes a game in thirteen games, thirty points, six and a half assists, six rebounds and doing so effectively sixty two shooting on twenty nine percent usage, which is actually pretty similar usage to what he did before the break, but a big jump in true shooting. He had those back to back night forty games, so duchess forty consecutive games. It's forty on consecutive nights, which was pretty impressive. And what's been exciting? For me is I remember really one of the things I liked about Bill a lot when he came out of Florida was that he could create for others. I liked what he could do with ball never seemed like a true on like leave guard type guy. But that he could be a really good secondary guy and he had been in assist rate in the mid teens for most of his career in Washington jumped all the way up to twenty one percent last year in the now fueled largely by this. Rich where he's been the lead guy all the way up to twenty four percent assists this year, which is really good. And the wizards have had a one sixteen offense of rating when Beale has played without John wall this year who's talking about some of their deadline. Editions forgets tweeted this the other day that hey NBA Twitter's docking to like this, but provide Parker is actually played pretty well for the wizards. He's coming off the bench as power for but closing some games sixty two percent true shooting. Twenty four percent usage seventeen point three PR which would be the highest other than the season that he had the second SEAL ter- were relooked. He's about to break out only making thirty two percent from three that's not amazing but sixty seven percent onto pointers forty three percent of his shots at the rim. And he's making seventy three percent at the rim. And I think it's kind of interesting that clearly they'll decline his team option for twenty million next year. But with their kept space situation, not likely to have cap room..

"And that's you know, I I mean, I think that having let's let's call professional respect for for what you're getting into especially because like the clippers did make they did make moves that'd be granted some of that happened after the fact on this type of stuff like that is I don't know. I there's been this weird thing with the Lakers. I mean, there's been some reporting about this about you know, like Magic Johnson's role. Plinking all this that the Lakers are very it's I'm not surprised, but it's weird. How much they seem to be thinking like we're the Lakers. And so that's why that's why these things are gonna work out or all that kind of stuff. And I think that was true in the parts of these communications that we saw as well. I mean, some of the things I came over is from as off saying, basically that the mayor screwed them. They didn't even know the Lakers who owned the land. That the clippers are trying to build on. They've course called Steve bomber balls. Be a l z and Jeannie says didn't ball see what we did to my brother. He will have nothing, but clippers basketball meaning that at this new arena part of the reason you build this arena. Is you wanna have other dates there's also they're competing with Staples at a G, they're competing, obviously with the form. So a lot of this appears to be based on what's going to happen for concerts at cetera. This could be a basketball only venues of the kings wouldn't be involved, but are concerts going to go to this new clippers arena or not. And that's the thought here is like that samples that are will continue to get all of the earliest, gene bus seems to believe that Staples Center will continue to get all the ancillary revenue outside clippers basketball. And of course, the nice little shot at a goal Jim Busta as well. In case, you're wondering what that relationship is like these days as a gym buses well into the sunset, thankfully, so. So in the LA times has all these emails takes a while to go through ten thousand emails, but I would expect plenty more interesting stuff to come out of this lawsuit. So far where do you wanna go next? Let's go to Portland even know there's a word in here that I can't pronounce CJ McCollum had went down with a knee injury. It was by one of those things it was very concerning at the time..

"The right entity to kinda described as with with a party related to that about the Lakers, potentially relocating within Los Angeles back to the forum in Inglewood. Yeah. I didn't find that particularly compelling, although it does kind of set the scene for the Genesis of this lawsuit. Basically, the allegations in the lawsuit MSG swing the city of Inglewood is the city of Englewood convinced MSG to give up a lease on a parking lot that it had for parking at the form because there's going to be more parking available at the new rim stadium in Inglewood MSG. Agreed. These are just the allegation the suit with all this discoveries determine whether it's actually correct or not the city of Inglewood said, hey, you know, we just want to use this land. Land for a forget what it was. But some innocuous purpose. And then shortly thereafter, they turn around and enter into the Susan negotiating agreement with the clippers to build a new arena there, the clippers tried to fast track for environmental perspective in part because of Amnesty's efforts that was defeated the clippers lease, of course, doesn't even end at Sables energy twenty twenty four, but you imagine they could buy themselves out of that lease at Staples. If they're arena were able to get fish beforehand doesn't appear like it would really be on track to be have that happen anyway. But now what's happening is the discovery process of this lawsuit is going on. And folks, this is why you don't wanna get sued. If you are at all, a public company, a public persona. We all say things in our private communications with people that we would never say publicly. That's just the nature of things every single person on earth. No matter who they are has stuff in their private communications that they don't want to be made public. And when you get sued oftentimes that is what ends up happening now. Apparently, there's an error on the L A courts website, and the LA times they've been Begnaud was able to grab over ten thousand documents. There's not necessarily a reason why this stuff should be made pellagra Nella hems, you'll see lawyers can a leak that stuff. But I would guess that the judge would not look kindly on that. But the looks like who's actually court screw up. And so that's why all this stuff is going public. Now, if they went to trial, it would, of course, any exhibit used a travel come public as well. But what was it about a other than the fact that the Lakers, you know, Irving as off 'em MSG, which is, you know, obviously, Jim Dolan is very active their SUV, basically got to NBA team moaners against another here with the Dolan and the buses against Steve Balmer. Would you find most explosive by the emails that came out? I mean sure the forum was trying to get the Lakers back. I, you know, it doesn't seem like that was really a on its way to happen because they spend all this. Money to revamp the form just to be for concerts. They would ahead to like totally build a new arena, basically to have the Lakers back, but anything else here that really sticks out to you, Danny? I think what what struck me was. And this isn't a surprise. But how dismissive bus and the Lakers, you know, just like because I think Rambus was also not not Kurt Rambus. But. Corrobos wife, Linda, Rambus, Kurt Rambis. His wife was was in this how dismissive and they were of the clippers and Steve Balmer. And like, basically like, oh, he doesn't know what he's getting into and all that kind of stuff..
