Elton and I want to thank Bruce Morrow for bringing me along with John Catsimatidis, who owns the station and making this a Glorious part of my day in my life my week. I've enjoyed every single moment of this, and, uh Bruce, you continue to put on great shows I learned every time I listen to you and not only that, but I'm entertained every single time. I hope I can fill the slippers that you leave behind for me to wear After you go to bed and you go home after your incredible four hours. I love you so much. Brucie and I have to share this with him with cousin Brucie. And with everybody listening So many of you out there. You You love knowing the backgrounds of how records are made you love how writers write the songs. It seems in the mail that I get that that's a very major part. Of the success of our show. And I'm privileged to be able to share 60 years with you. And one of the things I want to do tonight is clear up a little bit of a legendary thing that shouldn't only belong to one building. In New York City, and that building is called the Brill Building and anybody who's ever read anything about recording artists. Or or if songwriters they always refer to the Brill Building, and the Brill Building is a treasured Place for sure. Lieber and Stoller, the fathers of rock and Roll who wrote You Ain't Nothing but a hound dog for Elvis. And everything in there after for the drifters and the coasters, et cetera. They were in that building. And, of course, uh, Ellie Greenwich, and Jeff Barry wrote So many hit records. They were in that building as well. And so people forget that across the street. Was a building that was addressed simply as 16 50 Broadway, and maybe that's why it never had the magic behind it. Because you didn't have a name like the Brill Building. But if you went to 51st Street Between seventh and Broadway. And you look down the street to the Brill Building on 48th Street in New York. Uh, not 48th and 49th on on Broadway. That's how close these two buildings were. The Brill Building was known as Tin Pan Alley Building the building the older writers, the older guys that real Broadway shows etcetera came out of except for urban Berlin. Irving Berlin was in the building that were going to pay tribute tonight. I'm musical dream building. Hit central building where people came out of there. That was incredible. And this whole show. I'm going to play tonight All of the people or the songwriters and the songs that came out of 16 50 Broadway If you're ever in the city or you live in New York City. Just walk up to the front of that building because it's legendary. It had given us the music of America truly. So I'm gonna start tonight with a young guy who started in that building. It was on a record company called Bang Records. And he recorded this incredible hit to begin an unbelievable career. Walking out of the building of 16 50 Broadway was a young singer songwriter by the name of Neil Diamond. Cherry Cherry came out of that building as well as Neil. Here you go..

And you hear the girl at the end, say my phone is inside. Then they're apprehended by National Guard in Washington, D C. But the media never reported. This video is out there. They never reported on it in the wake of the anti Asian violence frenzy that we're going through. Listen to what it's out of all that. What's going on?.

Eric Severeid Roger Mudd, you know Back in the day. Oh, my goodness. Gracious. I don't know where we are now. And what's gonna happen with this before we let you go? I keep saying that joke cause I could talk to you for a Knauer over here this morning. We way appreciate your time. And I'm sorry to be a pain in the neck with Derek solving the murder. That's murder trial starts today in the wake of the death of George Floyd. How does that end up DEA figure, Joe? That's a very difficult case, because I just don't think jurors can be fair in this situation. I know we went through this jury selection process. Well, they also they could be fair except for that dude that had already been picked. Remember, there were two jurors who are picked and we're waiting to go to trial. And all of a sudden they had the design. They were taken down by the judge after they heard about $27 million civil settlement with the family because they said after that, they assumed he was guilty. Now, do you think And all those other jurors didn't have that chain thought this guy didn't forget Derek show over in as a defendant. Just think of the citizen. He can't get a fair trial in Minneapolis. Every one of those jurors knows that if they acquit him, their homes are going to be demonstrated at their names. You're going to get out there going to be threatened. Physically, there is no way You can get a fair trial in Minneapolis and the fact that it is being kept there. For the vanity of the judges and the lawyers and the community is nonsensical. This reminds me the Sam Sheppard case that led to the famous Supreme Court case. About publicity and changes of venue. This this case should not be in Minneapolis. It's not even close, and so if he's convicted Maybe convicted. You may not. You never know since people maybe, but I think the likelihood is that the jurors were going to be frightened not to convict him because of the repercussions for them. That's what creates the unfairness because it's really a shame that should be anywhere in Minnesota. But Minneapolis Joe diGenova breaking it down for us, Joe. Thanks so much love to Victoria and hopefully see out there soon enough men get through this. Yes, sir. Thank you, sir Jody General, former former United States attorney for the District of Columbia. And appointed by President Reagan, which is kind of cool. You know, you get the President Reagan one of my heroes, So that's that's always exciting.
