Dean, we're talking what, 3 .3 % year over year here, 0 .3 % on a month -to -month basis here, and that's relatively in line with where we've been now for the last couple of months. I'm not sure if those numbers get hit right on the nose, I'm not sure it really changes the narrative at all. All right, we're getting the closing bells here in New York on this Monday afternoon here, and once again, a low volume day leading to what is two relatively unchanged markets. The Dow Jones Industrial Average is in the green on the day, but only by about a tenth of a percent, higher by roughly 49 points and change as we wait for these numbers to settle. The S &P 500 lower by about 3 to 4 points, or about a tenth of a percent, while the NASDAQ composite is going to finish the day lower by roughly 30 points, or about two tenths of a percent. And the Russell 2000 really emblematic here of just how tepid the price action was, unchanged on the day at 17 ,000 and change. All right, so tepid on the price action, you look at the S &P a little changed here lower. If you dig a little bit deeper though, a little bit of a negative tone in terms of the individual names, 307 to the downside, losing some ground in the Monday trade. Katie, 194 to the downside, so a little bit of a, like I said, a negative slant to unchanged in today's trade. Yeah, and you take a look at some of the industry groups, there's a lot of green, a lot of red, so it all washes out to about neutral, but you take a look at what did well today, and it's the autos group, but we know a lot of that is coming from Tesla, but nonetheless, that group higher by about 3 .6 percent. Healthcare equipment and services also having a good day, so too is energy. So those are your bright spots. You take a look at the bottom of the list, what isn't doing too well today from an industry group perspective. You have retail, real estate, you have tech hardware, and you have utilities leading losses.

"The volatility we're staying is something that gives people pause I mean you're dealing with gross slowing and inflation going up We're going to see price rises continuing for quite some time It puts us as investors in a difficult position that we can't really look to the interest rates falling The market changes at the fed me overdo it This is Bloomberg surveillance with Tom Keene Jonathan farrow and Lisa ronalds Crude absolutely surging from New York City this morning good morning good morning for our audience worldwide live on TV and radio alongside Tom Keane And Lisa branded some Jonathan farrow futures down by 1.2% on a S&P off the lowest crude off the highs Brent still one 25 TK WTI one 23 Usually fluid right now they come up they come back right now oil coming up a little bit I'm using dollar ruble really is the Russian litmus paper I don't think there's any surprise there John But one thing I do want to mention is we go into this hour This is a morning where EM begins to break Javier blass tweeted out about that about three hours ago And I just suggest John out of the side here We got a look at emerging market and how they adapt And just got a headline Tom on some talks between the British prime minister Boris Johnson and the president of the United States Boris Johnson saying we need to do more on sanctions against Russia And that's the story this morning The administration openly stating they are considering banning the import of Russian crude Well the basic idea in the telegraph I think associated with the conservative movement in the United Kingdom has really been out front on this job but what's your treatment on it Not so much how is Boris doing but what does a tech you perceive from your prime minister It can the UK join them Will the Europeans join us well It is a much much bigger deal for the Europeans And that's why I think the reporting from the team down in Washington this morning here at Bloomberg Lisa the suggestion that at the beginning if they do this the U.S. could be flying so low That they could be flying solo at a time when you see natural gas prices in Europe surged to new record highs And as you pointed out that chart just a catastrophic move for people who depend on gas in Europe which is pretty much everyone for their heating And you do wonder does this lead to a segregated kind of feeling in Europe that is very different than what's in the U.S. Demand destruction how many times have you heard that over the last couple of weeks now Well honestly that's the question what is the threshold where it becomes a self correcting cycle We don't know Lori Calvin of RBC saying she thought she would have already gotten there The fact that we haven't is concerning John I don't agree with the microeconomics that demand destruction and it's so much of the things we're talking about are not substitutable Nickel is not substitutable in a lot of modern technology in the agonizing gas prices in Europe Are they substitutable I don't know We talked about this last week you and I did What do you do You spend less elsewhere Yeah I think that's a bigger issue and this gets over to the income statement versus balance sheet analysis that I saw all weekend from our clients global Wall Street Everybody's wondering what's the income statement effect to pick on total They're in the news in France And what's the balance sheet effect on total And the annex story more broadly on the S&P 500 features this morning down a little more than 1% whipped through it for you We're down 48 call it 49 points lower on a S&P 500 The NASDAQ down one 80 down by 1.3% crude higher by 6.6% one 23 33 Yields aren't doing much Upper basis point on tens to one 74 26 and this dollar this dollar stronger you're a dollar Lisa one zero 8 62 This idea that perhaps the U.S. will be in a better or lesser pain than Europe in the face of this shock The big question for a lot of people is what's the off ramp for this conflict and what's the off ramp for the surge that we see ongoing in commodities today The U.S. Secretary of State Tony blinken will be meeting in Latvia with the president there as well as the Latvian and Israeli foreign ministers to talk about possibly some sort of Iran deal Possibly to get an increase in the production of oil as well as how to handle this Ukrainian invasion Do they get on the same page in this comes Not only is crude surges to the highest since 2008 both on the brunt and WTI fronts but also as gasoline surges at a very rapid pace above $4 on average a gallon in the United States for the first time also going back to 2008 We would otherwise be talking about the fact that the pandemic evidently is over And today some school mask mandates are lifted at least for the New Jersey and New York City regions How much do we see this sort of end of the pandemic to an endemic phase met with a shrug because we are all focused that much more on what's happening over in Eastern Europe and at 3 p.m. how much can consumers buffer their finances by just borrowing more We'll get a read on the consumer credit in the United States for the month of January as you start to see a resurgence Good for the banks but it also speaks to the sort of dwindling savings that a lot of consumers will begin to have as this conflict drags on Lisa thank you In this hour we begin with our top story The U.S. administration considering banning the import of Russian crude We are now talking to our European partners and allies to look in a coordinated way at the prospect of banning the import of Russian oil while making sure that there is still an appropriate supply of oil on world markets That's a very active discussion as we speak Secretary Lincoln over the weekend team coverage starts right now with Bloomberg's aunt Marie at The White House Maria In Brussels AMH the story of the morning and they are willing to fly solo on that effort Great question because as you've seen already with all the sanctions they really worked in lockstep between their European partners with United Kingdom even Japan to make sure this was something that was really multilateral in name And now this would be the United States acting alone going it alone in banning these imports The political pressure is intense in Washington on this White House We should note right now there's an embargo all but in name You have refiners in the United States ditching some of this crude 3% of imports come from Russia when you look at hardcore crude 8% when you consider all those other fossil fuels that are important But the signs are there that they are looking to do this because you have U.S. officials going to Venezuela to potentially make up some of that shortfall Obviously this is something that's going to happen It's a matter of when not if And Marie and your world what is the dynamic of going from triple-A on leaded printed this weekend $4 a gallon out to four ten or four 40 or dare I say higher How does that change the dynamic in the inside the beltway Well already for months you've seen poll after poll what do U.S. consumers in Americans say that they want more action being done out of Washington And that is inflation It's gasoline prices It's food grocery bills It's all of the above And this will just make that domestic issue so much harder for this White House Maria tadeo we have gotten some word from the Kremlin Kremlin as far as what they are looking for as we all look for an off ramp to this conflict And recently they said that Ukraine must amend the constitution reject claims to enter any block in a series of other demands What do you make of the latest out of Russia Yeah that's a very good point because what they say is the constitution as you know has to be changed in Ukraine as it stands Because right now it says the country aspires to join the European Union and native eventually in the future Now with the Russians say is that if that gets tweaked and on top of.

"Perry. At least not yet. Okay? He certainly isn't a Keenan Reynolds, Okay? From a number of years ago. Uh, so Troy may say that to the media, but look his team. I don't think it's thinking that whatsoever. I think that you get out there. It's interesting, and Troy told me this one time coaches spend all week putting together a game plan to put together a game plan. Put together a game plan and then there you go in the game starts well after one quarter, Troy said. You realize that probably about 25 to 35% of your game plan is out the window because of what The other team was showing you right now and then by halftime. Pretty much all of your game plan is out the window Because now you're reacting to what you see on the field versus what you saw on tape. So I don't think they do the Navy quarterback scare Air Force well, only in the sense that they run the option and you've got to be disciplined and have one guy breaks down and somebody could go for a big game. So in that respect, sure, the Navy quarterbacks concern Air Force, but I don't think That our lines have guys who comes in with the credits and the Perry from a couple of years ago, so I don't think again. I think coaches tend to Kind of blow that up a little bit more than what it actually is. What would concern you, Um Arthur about the midshipmen. I think pretty simple. What would concern me is, if maybe has the ball for 41 minutes like they did last week. That's the bizarre statistic When you look at this Marshall scores, 49 points and 18 minutes. Okay, Marshall never stopped Lady Navy between the 20 yard lines up and down the field. They chewed up ton of yardage. But when they got inside the red zone, they couldn't finish. They had problems. You know, field goal blocked l kinds of issues. I think what you worry about if your hair force is if your defense can't get navies offense off the field. That's the biggest worry because Look, maybe is going to be better tomorrow than they were last week. There's no doubt about that. And if they ve hazard for 41 minutes, I think you've got a big problem on your hands. If you're the Falcons From the other side. And I've spoken about Kyle Patterson quite a bit this week. Because, you know, we I know you and Jesse were talking about in the booth when I was up there with you like In the stat sheet shows it like Kyle Patterson. You wouldn't even know that he played, um, because they were hiding him so much. David Cormier is another guy that they didn't really go to a lot, but he was out there. The legend of Cormier has grown over the years. How big of a weapon do you think he could be? Not just tomorrow but this season for Air Force. Well, he could be as big a weapon. As much as they throw to him. He can't hurt you. If you don't throw to him, and I think there force loves his potential. He's got great size and that sense of remind you of Jalen Robinette. But other than that, the book is really still out on them. You have to remember he was a freshman in 18. In 2000 and 19. He was, uh, involved in in, uh, circumstance at the Air Force, and he was a cadet, not in good standing. Last year, he took a turn back. So here he is. Now he's a junior this year, but nobody really has a feel for what he can do on the field, and I think you throw to him last week. Just to say Hey, can the guy even play and he did? He made a nice catch. I think they like this blocking on the outside, But the stakes are bigger tomorrow, so I think there's still a big question Mark. When it comes to David Cormier. He's got amazing talent. He's got amazing potential. I think the only targeted him two times two or three times at most. So and I think you did that more to give him some confidence going into this game. But look, force is going to throw some tomorrow. There's no doubt about it and they're going to need to do that to get the Navy defense thinking a little bit and they got two great targets in Paterson, but they didn't target at all last week. And Cormier and look at the guys are not worth anything unless you use it unless you get the ball to him, and then and then that's good and of air force can get the ball to them. Occasionally, it's only going to help the rest of the offensive. The rushing offense. Is that the area of his E. Daniels game that you want to see if if he makes some improvement is to be able to throw the ball downfield. Well, I think so. You know, he's he's played now. Seven games. If you look at his body of work hasn't even played a full season when you think about it. And he's into his second year. He hasn't played a full season. And I'm sure that you want to make sure he holds onto the football. You want to make sure that he's able to run the offense and by running offense that means get you into the right play. Make sure that your pitches are on spot. And make sure that you're reading is on spot. What I mean by that is when he's coming down the line. Does he keep the football Because you read that defensive end? Does he make that pitch that's running the offense. I think the passing piece of it. It's interesting. If you went to an air force practice, you would be amazed. Absolutely be amazed by how much they practice throwing the football if you saw therefore Practice. You would think they throw it 40 times a game. That's how much they practiced throwing the football. I think that he's an adequate passer right now. Is there room for improvement? I don't think there's any question About that. And so if you're looking at the Zeke and saying, Hey, is that a part of the game that you can improve on a little bit? I'm sure he'd say without a doubt. I'm sure the coaches would say that, too. And if he can That just makes him more dangerous with guys like Paterson and Brandon Lewis, Jake Speed walk out there and also David Corby. It will be an interesting one tomorrow to say the least. I don't have to hype up air Force and Navy because those of you listening, know how big of a game this is. The pre game coverage with Jim and Jesse Kurtz begins at 11 30 over on our sister station 7 40 K View our kickoff at 1 30. Should be a fun one. Jim appreciate the time in the insight and have a great call tomorrow. Thanks, Ryan. You bet. Be well. Jim Arthur Voice of the Air Force Falcons. My guest here on drive time sports. I Look, I asked him the question. What concerns you and The concern here was If they're able to do something they couldn't do last week. I mean, that was essentially the answer from Jim and I'm not saying that that was a bad answer. It's just that they got absolutely waxed. Last week by Marshall, despite playing the exact game that they wanted to They held the ball. They controlled the football. But they couldn't punch it into the end zone. And conversely, Marshall didn't need That much time to go up and down the field. I'm not saying it's a sure thing. Because the you throw the records out the window type thing. It kind of applies. But Air Force because of the turn backs was not as good of a football team last year as they are this.

David Cormier Jim David Corby Kyle Patterson Ryan Jesse Kurtz Jake Speed Brandon Lewis 41 minutes 49 points 20 yard Jesse 2000 Marshall Keenan Reynolds Perry last year Last week Seven games Jim Arthur

"One call that's all sports test. Here's Brian D. That could be it for the Milwaukee Bucks in a game they led by as many as 17 points. The box offense and defense suffered a second half let down in a 1 14 went away lost to the Brooklyn Nets. The Nets dug into the box. 16 point halftime lead shaving 10 points off in the third quarter alone. Said coach Mike Budenholzer. We had a good first three quarters, you know, stalled out a little bit offensively in the forest, so we got to be better executed down the stretch, trailing 1917 with 45 seconds left a rare Kevin Durant, miss. Give the box a chance to tie, But Janice fumbled the ball, negating an easy dunk attempt. Durant was followed, knocked down both of his free throws and essentially ended the game. Pragmatic WTMJ sports. Yannis led the box with 34 points but was completely overshadowed by a miraculous performance from Kevin Durant. He's the best. He's the best player in the world right now, and we gotta we gotta beat him as a team. We got a garden as a team. We've got to make him make tough shots, like slight. Uh And we just gotta keep doing our job and hopefully like, hopefully it's gonna miss 49 points. 17 rebounds, 10 assists from the former Every plea, Jean he played all 48 minutes last night. I know I'm using this term a lot. But hope is not a strategy. Can't hope the guy is going to miss you make somebody else shoot You ready for a strategy that hasn't been employed yet. How about put your former defensive player of the year Yannis and did a Google on Kevin Durant something we haven't seen all series long? Yeah, That's amazing How that how that How does that not happen? It's a big time indictment on a guy that might be out of the job soon for what it's worth in baseball. Bruce Feiler heads to the one intended in Cincinnati does not record a hit the extra frames still able to score two runs, though. Despite the law spread, Henderson has a lot tone for him growing seven shutout innings. According to Statcast. Anderson throws six different types of pitches. He faces only 23 batters, which is just too over the minimum for seven innings. Manager Craig Counsell is impressed. She just X Executed a whole bunch of pitches and there was a Christmas to it. I mean, everything was good curveball, Changeup, little color. I mean sinker. So there was really pitching clinic. I mean, that's that's as good a performance as we've seen this year. Here on WTMJ and finally in football. Aaron Rodgers, speaking publicly once again this time. That's ahead of his celebrity golf match with Bryson Shambo, Phil Mickelson and Tom Brady. The quarterback took some gentle ribbing from Brady about the way the NFC championship game ended. I do think you do have a partner that would probably have liked to go for a little more often than he has in the past. So Bryce and bite your encouraging Him to kind of go for it when it's on the line, So rather than you know, just not getting the fairway or something like that and try to try to play for the next shot. Yeah, I'll never I'll never push anyone to do anything so he can choose whatever he wants to do it. All right. Well, I usually don't get the option. I just want to go on record and say this was like my least enjoyable sportscast in the history of my time on WTMJ. The box getting just absolutely ravaged. By Kevin Durant. The Brewers coming up short in 10 innings and Aaron Rodgers taking ribbing from top Ready This is the worst 5 49 at WTMJ..

"From NPR News. I'm Jack Spear as the Group of Seven summit got underway in Cornwall, England. "Answer questions about how Durant How hard is doing Just last say he's not going to play. We feel he's progressing, and that's the end of it, because really, there's no reason for for any players. Anybody have to keep getting asked about Harden because the teams rolling right now, which brings us to tonight, Tonight is the ultimate guts game. I'm not trying to be a hot take artist guy here. I'm not trying to give you you know anything off the wall and crazy. I'm saying this seriously. The fact of the matter is the honest lead bucks have been made of glass and all of their postseason runs. And this year ending Drew holiday to go with Chris Middleton and go with the honest and build this team up, Although you don't have a Bogdanovich This was supposed to be the team for the box even if they lost to the Brooklyn Nets for the Philadelphia 76 As we talk about the three teams in the East all year bogus, even if they lost to them. This was supposed to be the books that showed fight and show that things would be different in Milwaukee. And what's happened on top of James James Harden. Getting hurt was the worst thing to happen in Milwaukee because at least of the Big Three were just rolling. You could have that excuse hearts out, which should have been a beneficiary of Milwaukee. Tonight. When they return home. They made the excuse or some players didn't talk about how different was playing in front of fans compared to them Fizzling out versus Miami in the bubble. They will have fans in the building tonight. Off being embarrassed for two straight nights. If the Bucks get punched in the mouth, and Yannis is missing a million free throws again and the Nets run through them and win a game by double digit points. I'm not asking the Nets to go when I get my 49 points again. If they win this game by double digit points. I think you start to have to answer the question Bogus. Does Mike Boone holes in return as the head coach in Milwaukee Bucks next year? I mean, I I already think that's a valid question. Because I still don't understand what happened in Game two. I mean, I just That is inexplicable to me, and like nine different ways to take nothing away from the Nets, being phenomenal on offense and being better on defense than they were in the regular season. I just I don't know how fans are No fans home or road, but this is a team that's not just in the playoffs. Like smart basketball. People think the box can win the NBA title. And thought that like before the playoffs began before LeBron and Anthony Dee and Davis got hurt in the Lakers were out like they're people without the box could get to the files and beat the Lakers and this is a team. That in Game two after getting blown out in Game one got blown out more in Game two, when they didn't have to prepare for James Harden. There was no wildcard there. They knew what they were getting. And they were down by 49 points. The decking was never close, like it was worse than anything the Celtics did, and there are far inferior team. And they were closer to implosion in Milwaukee ever was like the Celtics laying down at times in round one made sense to a certain extent, not that is excuse about it, but it made no Brown and Kemba Walker was hurt. Exactly. Game two of this series makes still no sense so I don't shy of them, reeling off the next four games and surging forward to be and becoming The peak boxes simple saw, like I I think they are now in a place where they need to assess all of it because it is multiple years of this. They're obviously wedded to Yannis Middleton. Andrew Holiday have long term deals as well. So none of those is going anywhere. So the next thing Is Mike Budenholzer, and you know it's up to him and them to fix this and at least show up and try and beat the Nets tonight. Well, here's the truth. When the box made a coaching change, they could fizzle in the playoffs with Jason Kidd is their head coach. Mike Budenholzer was brought in because with somewhat lesser town in Atlanta, he had them as a one seed and ran into a LeBron Eastern conference where he couldn't get over the hump. He has one of the premier superstars in the NBA. Now I'm my own issues with the honest I think he's more of a freak athlete that he is a special basketball player. But and I think he's going to win on pure athleticism almost every night in the regular season, and then you run into trouble in these spots, but nonetheless Whether you consider Holiday or Middleton stars that is a very solid, productive good three. That was good enough to be top three in the Eastern Conference. Good enough for as you said smart basketball people to continue to pick them to go to the NBA Finals with the Milwaukee Bucks to put us in a position in If they go and just get bounced and look ugly here with Brooklyn, which we have no reason to think they aren't about to do that. They start to feel like an embarrassed basketball people to the point where they to me appear like when everybody picks the Cowboys to go to a Super Bowl every year with that Prescott Tony Romo, right, like how many times you need to go in and then only be let down with either a mediocre regular season or playoffs fizzle out. That's what the bucks are starting to remind me of the recent era of Jerry Jones. Cowboys football. Star power all of that, and then people love them. People pick them they go crazy about it, And then they just falls short..

"And it makes you wonder why they didn't If you really need to spot him a game to, you know at home, you know, I mean, Simmons is not just the best defender on your team. Simmons is like the best defender in the league. I mean, if he's not the best, he's right there with the best. And you treat young you need you know, the Atlanta can't win this series without Trae young doing big things and you wait until game too. And look at the difference. Trae Young shot one of seven from threes. In Game two and Simmons length clearly bothered him. He can cover so much ground and he just bought Trae Young. It doesn't you know you can tell. He's He's bothered by a 6 10 guy extending out on him, and he's just not quite as comfortable as Russian. Some of his shots. Little bit so We'll see. We'll see you. One only gets there is really good at home. My only guess there is, Doc probably thought, okay. You know, we need band to do more than just that, So I don't want to just burn him out having to chase Trae Trae young around all over the court. And then he saw Danny Green, not being able to do it and just thought You know what? Screw it. You know you chase them around. That will be your number one priority. We can handle the rest and stuff. You know you're going to happen. You're going to handle some of it, Of course, But don't don't worry about anything else. Don't worry about the offensive side of it. You know, we have more than enough there. That's our number one priority, and I think that's the right. At least it wasn't game too. And I think going forward it is as well. I mean, he's young. He can do that and do a little bit. But right now it's just like Just take care of this. Dude. We know you'll do some other stuff, but just take care of him. And that's going to help us out. That's going to help us out more than anything he can do Offensively. Here's the question, though. Are you going to have to get something of significance from Simmons? Offensively in this series, or can they live with him doing a great job defensively? And that score because if they don't have curry can give them 20 and mill. Okay, give him points that I want to go to. I wanted to go to Milton. If Milton doesn't have that game last night. Could you say they wouldn't win it? I'd say that That's that's fair. I think it be closer. I don't know if they wouldn't have won because they won so convincingly anyway. But he was he was he was a determining factor late in the third early in the fourth, there's no doubt so you got unexpected points from from Milton. Offsetting Ben Simmons. Do I mean he was You got nothing from him offensively, basically, So is it going to have to be Sheikh Milton and Uh, Seth Curry giving you those points you need Over the course of the series to offset not getting really anything of significance from Ben Simmons. Offensively, I just I don't know. You know, I don't know The math on that in terms of is that Is that a series winning formula? Yes. It to have been Simmons concentrate on On giving Trae Young defensive blues. That's a smart strategy. But you've got to get something out of him. Points wives, right? Because because Atlanta is too good. It's three goes beyond trade Young. I think they could win, even if Trey Young is heaven, a difficult time with one of the best defender in the league because Atlanta They could shoot. They are unselfish with the ball. They are very good offensive team A fairly doesn't have that depth to me getting that chick Milton You know, outburst from last night was huge. To me. That was your game. No question in Atlanta, you're right on because Atlanta's bench scored 49 points last night, they had a 49 26 edge. If you take away, Milton That's a huge, huge edge. Um, I just think Philly bothered Atlanta into you know how many of those 18 turnovers were you know because of Philly's defense. And then the other thing is you got you know Gallinari and herder can can go for 40. You know that that puts pressure on Philly to get some points you know, somewhere right and whether it's Seth curry or melting or Ben Simmons can give him some points. I I think I just think Atlanta's so deep Um, that you know and make so talented offensively and they get so many different guys can score. That Milton's gonna have to keep doing what he did last night, which we'll look. Milton's got a better chance to do what he did, then heard her doing. He did again because Milton average 13 points in the regular season. Certainly average one. You only got one more point than his average. Was during the during the season. So and Tobias Harris can always pitch in and beads averaging 39 a half points at 39 40 the first two games of the serious so clearly they're going to run the offense through him whenever they can. But I mean, would hurt her it last night again. I think Milton's got a much better chance of doing. What he did is just he did it in such a compressed time frame. It was literally like about four minutes a game time, maybe even 3.5 because it's like the last five seconds of the 1st 3rd quarter And then, like the first three minutes of the fourth quarter reaches exploded, but he's capable of getting a double digit points and, Yeah, I mean, would you like to have Ben Simmons doing some more? Yeah, I think he will. Absolutely. But you don't need him doing his normal stuff. Because you do have to buy his Harris. You do have Seth Curry. And you do have a bead doing what he does. So Yeah. Are you going to need more? Yeah, to do I think you'll need as much as he gave during the regular season. No, I don't. I think it's more important to really kind of try and shut down Trae Young. And keep him down rather than go ahead and get yourself 18. 20 points last thought..

Ben Simmons Tobias Harris Trae Young Trey Young Danny Green Simmons Trae Trae Trae young Seth Curry 49 points 13 points 40 Sheikh Milton Philly 3.5 18. 20 points 39 20 one Seth curry

Because yesterday I thought tremendous tout on the bucks last night, fellas when you all worked out in the Bucks last, did I tout the boxes. How the bucks? I'm looking out of the box. I think Who's Clements? I bet they get swept. That's What I said. You said that the buck screaming. I was pretty confident like I think the Clippers might win the NBA title and today I'm ready to tell you it's over. The Nets are going to win the title. Because, yeah, the I told you that the bucks were favored in Brooklyn, Brooklyn. Talk by by a point. I guessed that And that was that was not a very good line as the Nets 11 25 86. It wasn't that close. They lead by 49 points at one point. It's almost 49 points wild last night, but two in a basketball game contested by professionals. Kevin Durant had 32.32 points. He's good. What do you say the I mean, The bucks are good team. They're really good. They're they're They're one of the best regular season teams. You know, that is that is true. And their superstar Yana sanded the Grupo. The two time MVP. I mean, Damn. Maybe just a regular season guy because he has been. He gets run out of the playoffs now every year and he is having a disastrous postseason. The guys shooting issues 53% from the free throw line. I felt bad for him when you're free guard K D. Yeah, I anybody. He was over three from the three point line and Johnson eight for 15 12.5% from three in the playoffs. 12.5. Now He's never been great like that's always been the thing. If you're honest learns to shoot, shoot the three he's going to be unstoppable. But you could count on him for 30 or 35% 12.5% this postseason for from three. And yet they just had no chance. You're right. You know Kevin Durant whether it was Janice Garden him or whoever. He's just dropping. What a story for our guy Kevin Durant as well. Hook him tours Achilles two years ago. That's an injury that it used to be the killer. That's it. You're gone. Maybe you play again. But you're going to be a shell of what you once were. And Kevin Durant, the best player left in the playoffs. You see, postgame know what do you say? I can't remember. The duty was interviewing, but it was like Kevin 02 years removed from you blowing out your leg. How are you doing this? And you know Katie's got like the hoodie on his headphones on you Just look at music. Is that a serious question, man? A guy was like, Uh, he's like, No. I mean, uh And the guy was like, I mean, you're just you're playing so good right now that he's like, Well, I appreciate that, But no, I mean, that was two years ago. Like I'm k d. Well, Okay, listen, Katie, what you are doing is You know, historic has really never been done before. I mean, Kobe tours Achilles and came back and had some moments. But you know, that's an injury that nobody ever gets back to 100% from and I would say he's the same player that he was for Golden State a couple years there's no see he hasn't lost a step. He was brilliant last night. Brilliant. Katie has disdain for the media, and I don't know what you guys. I mean. I don't know what you guys did to him, but he tweeted this this morning. Um, I have to have to censor some of this man's will do anything to advance their career in this media s wanting to be accepted by an industry that will dispose of you whenever they please keep me out of all that corny ass talk about who's better and legacy and all that dumb ass s don't even talk like that. Uh, what are you talking about? They're compare. What is your problem? Kevin Durant. He just doesn't want to play in that game. Didn't want to do that again. Give me and I'm just I'm just trying to shower. You appraise Kevin Durant, because you're real good. And I was never picked the Nets. I was off the nets because I knew I didn't think they could stay healthy throughout the entire year. He and Harden We're just trading off. I'm hurt. You're hurt. I'm hurt. You're hurt. And last night when they're playing without James Harden, No problem. Kyrie look great again last night. He is good. Maybe it Maybe it was because another sports entity put out a Clickbait article that the title is Kevin Durant allegedly brought a backup date to his date with Lana Rose. Yeah. Katie. What did he do? I don't know. Is that a real thing? I'm not clear whose Lana Rhodes should my supposed to know who that is? It looks like Kevin Durant type. See between who of him and Katie and Kyra is going to get the finals M v P. But yes, let's keep playing basketball like this. Katie is unstoppable right now. Kyrie obviously is on another level. So Don't think it looks good for the bucks. Unfortunately. Okay, so you're going to go one step further. You think it's a wrap on the entire NBA championship? I was just talking about the East. Do you think it's a wrap on them? Winning a ring? Who's stopping him in the West. I mean, this is, you know, maybe the Clippers maybe quite PG can can muster up and after maybe the sons with that squad of CP three can get that shoulder back healthy, but There's you know, let's just be honest. Look at how they've been playing the last two games, you know up by nearly 50. I want to say it points against the Bucks. It's not looking good for anybody else. So was last night's destruction. I mean, at one point, the Bucks trailed by 49 points. Was that about just brilliance by the Nets? Or is that about a lack of effort as well from the box? You know the playoff basketball. So at this point, if you're getting macaroon by 49 points, you know a lot about, you know, heavy, heavy dose of KD and Kyrie. But the rest of that net squad Blake Griffin. Place them inspired basketball obviously finesse his way out of Detroit to come to Brooklyn. And Steve Nash has has a meaning basic crew on his hands. And, you know, at any point if you lose James Harden of the Rockets lose James Harden like they did their now lottery team. So this team loses James Harden and You could argue that they're playing better basketball, which is which is a wild thing to say. But This team. It looks unstoppable right now, But like I said, it's only two games. The Bucks are going back to Milwaukee. Now we'll see if it but in that crew can get the team back together. The honest has got to step up a two time M V P You've got to start playing like M v. P. And that's just the bottom line. Josiah Johnson our guest this morning here on the D, a show on CBS Sports radio. So that takes us to the buck side of things. How do you analyze how they were built that they felt as though He got an upgrade withdrew holiday in there and that that Big three could compete with other teams..

"Open with a big free around home run on Saturday and Brandon Belt with a big one, too. So yesterday, not as fun of a game, but they do win yet another serious against San Diego and get ready to take on a Texas team. Who's you know, not not supposed to be all that good, but they do have some dangerous bats in this lineup, and they're going to see Kyle Gibson one of their better starters tonight. So Kyle Gibson against Alex would I was with three No with me. R a under two right now, which is impressive, and I was looking around baseball in some of the league leaders and Alex Woods numbers are holding up there. He's nowhere near what Jacob deGrom is doing to crime yesterday, another insane outing for him. A Z goes What? Well, let's put it this way. He's now through six starts. He's the second picture since 18 86. 18 86. He's the second picture through his first six starts to have at least 60 strikeouts with an E R a under one and get this. He's also leading all pictures with hits seven hits right now, for the first six weeks of the season herself. So Jacob the ground after a crazy start, not not to Alex Woods. Not quite as good and his bat hasn't looked quite is good, but you'll see him tonight against the Texas Rangers. That's a fun one. But In thinking about what happened this weekend. How it all went down. The celebration on Friday night was fantastic. Sachin. I watched that thing. The pregame ceremony with Willie Mays going around in the car. And how come did Willie look? He looks incredible. For 90 years old man sitting up there going around the car waving to people, Dauphin, his cap and they played the the say, Hey, Willie Song. It was all cool Barry Bonds, cutting the cake with him. I thought it was all it was really It was sentimental. It was fun. It was reflective. Everybody sharing their stories about Willie Mays. And it was funny. Remember Chi parade at the end of the celeb. Oration goes, we do by the way, have a ball game to play with the ball game. All this build up, and so for Willie Mays 90th birthday. They, of course, went on Friday night. Then it's God's been windy on Saturday. They can't get to sleep yesterday, but it was a it was a fun weekend Fun celebratory Mother's Day weekend. Great hat. By the way, I'm loving that they're doing this. I was talking to somebody at the station last week. And I guess maybe I'd missed this on. I've seen other teams were doing this in my watching of like MLB network. And when you watch MLB TV like if you're on that app, you're generally getting like the local broadcast or the in stadium broadcast from some of these other teams. So watching the Diamondbacks game where they did this where they had to give away day like a bobblehead day, And because they're not at Max capacity you're giving away with 30,000 bobble heads or 21st 25,000 or some They're not doing it over an entire series. So Sunday was supposed to be the mother's Day hat They give away think they were giving them away all weekend. We got him on Saturday. My mom got one. We were sitting in the sun and it was it was useful on Saturday. It was a hot day at the ballpark, but it was beautiful could not have had better weather this weekend for a mother's day at the ballpark, So a lot of fun was great taking my mom out great hanging with my brother and sister. We had beer. We had popcorn. We had some hot dogs and nachos did it up big for the for the Mother's Day. Weekend was a lot of fun. So Giants two games serious starts two days. 6 45 1st pitch right here can be on one of 45 and 6 80 against the Texas Rangers. The weird Giants Rangers. You've never called a rivalry, but because of 2010. I just It's just now there forever tied because of that 22 world. Syria's just sort of a random team to be the Texas Rangers coming into town. The Ale West in general is just kind of a bunch of random teams. The A's. I don't wear a classic franchise, but Anybody else? I mean, Houston, they switch leagues. That's kind of where the Angels and just kind of puttering around down there and anonymity right? They've got the best players in baseball and there never any good. It's really weird. The Seattle Mariners done of a championship just wasting away and the Great Northwest anyway, Giants of the Rangers tonight at at Oracle Park on the other side, Marty's gonna join me. We'll talk some more about about Willie Mays wrapping it up. And we're gonna do a little bit with Monte Irvin and Marty too, because Marty, of course, watch really play and watch some of the H play back in the in New York and Abbott's field in the Polo grounds, So we'll pick Marty's brain about that. And then back into some of the great sounds from this weekend. A lot of fun story lines about Steph Curry on Saturday night didn't even get into him yet. 49 points after hearing that Bradley Beal had gone for 50 that reminds me of Ah, Ty Cobb. Babe Ruth Story. I'll tell you about a little bit later. That one was a lot of fun. Also, the spat or lack of a spat between Jeff McNeil and Frankie Lindores. You see this getting into a Jeff Can't Barry Bonds like fight in the tunnel over whether or not they saw a rat or Raccoon. We'll get into that just a little bit later as well. A lot of fun sound from this weekend he came med cast running 100 yard sprints. Maybe he's going to the Olympics. I don't know what the hell's going on. It was a fun weekend in sports, and we could get all into it this Monday morning. Marty joins me on the other side. Plenty more. Coming up here in the leadoff spot can be are one of 45 and 6 80. It's the sports leader. Up early working out. Listen to the leadoff spot on your Amazon Echo. Smart speaker. Just say play K NPR a better life with Dr Sanjay Gupta. There.

"The Bloomberg Market Mint on 700. W L John. Good Morning, Mr Ballenger. How you doing? I'm doing well, Mike, Happy Hump day to you back at you kind of a flat day in the markets yesterday. Yeah. Key indexes didn't do a lot. The Dow was up three points. At the close. The NASDAQ lost 49 points. The S and P 500 lost one. And let's say investors were just moving cautiously, partly because lot of the earnings reports seem to indicate that rising raw material costs are squeezing corporate profits. All right, then in tax and heavy hitters came in after the bell yesterday. What do we know? Well, we heard from alphabet and Microsoft alphabet. Cheers moved higher after hours. The company's earnings easily topped forecasts. There was a pickup in digital advertising at Google and YouTube and that more than made up for a loss of the autonomous vehicles and drone division. Alphabet also announced to $50 billion buy back, which investors liked. But Microsoft a different story had a quarterly profit that was bigger than expected, but not enough to impress investors. Shares of the software giant were down after hours. Microsoft sales came in at $41.7 billion, and that was slightly ahead of estimates. But the big news is we'll be hearing from our friends at the Fed today. Yes, we will. The economists say the Federal Reserve is all but certain to keep interest rates near zero and reiterate its pledge to continue buying bonds of the current pace. Central Bank wraps Up two days of policy talks today and chair Jerome Powell will hold a news conference about two o'clock 2 30 this afternoon. So I'm sure you'll be in front of the TV. Fantastic. "Here's Chris Putin Blackhawks fall in this 174 to the champion, a lightning to wrap up that season. Syria's Yeah, the only Celebration the Blackhawks had in this season serious with that shootout victory back on March 5th in the middle game of that three game series that they had against the bolts here at the United Center for the Blackhawks remain at 49 points a bit of a missed opportunity here tonight as well because Nashville Is losing and going to lose to the Blackhawks next opponent, the Florida Panthers, who are up 74 when we last checked in the final minute of that game down at Bridgestone Arena and Florida pumped more than 50 shots on goal against You see sorrow san, the natural predators in that one But we'll take you up until 10 30 here tonight on Pride night on the postgame show as the black box fall in this one. As we mentioned 74. We'll get live reaction from players and head coach Jeremy Collinson as well, but we start out With primary and this one got Blackhawks gonna got conked over the head here early on the opening minute of the game. A little miscommunication off of a face off. Eric Chernykh ends up going the other way and then Wait. Uh, I'm not sure if it's Patrick line a or or that we no longer see this season or Alex Killorn who I'm happier not to see in the Blackhawks, probably her happy You're not to see the remainder of this way, even though there are only seven games left right now, some pretty incredible numbers from the Lightning against the Blackhawks this season, But they're a good team. They're well coached team. They've They are the Stanley Cup champion defending champions. And they really didn't lose a whole lot off the roster, and they didn't have their two top offensive players Stamkos and Kuchar off in this game, So this is a team that you're gonna have to keep an eye on. They clinch a playoff spot. Carolina had clinched a playoff spot Florida with their victory. Clinches playoff spot as well, So only one position to go. And that's between the national predators, The Dallas Stars and still a glimmer of hope, the Chicago Blackhawks and you know it's funny. Yes, this is the Blackhawks postgame show. But now It's all three of those teams. Aaron, We knew they were gonna be in its about jacking for position so you don't get caught in that first round match up two verses. Three. I mean, Well, you know what it is. Don't pick your poison. It's not a slam dunk that whoever the top seat is with two teams pushing for that fourth and final. We've seen it happen before. In these first round upsets with pushing just to get in asphalt can be a dangerous team and Dallas went to the Cup final last year. So there's some good news on the health front from the Dallas Stars say again has started to skate again a little bit now and Maybe he'll get a knopper to nitty to to get to play in the postseason. The Nashville Filip Forsberg, their main offensive guy, I think is a possibility. Moving forward here, so I don't know who if you really look at it. I know the 2nd and 3rd to be a tough matchup between two of these three teams are in the top of the division, but at the same time And once you get in the playoffs, anything can happen. And you know for the Blackhawks. They're still not out of the equation. Anything can happen. You saw it last year when they defeated the Evanston orders in that play in round in the Evanston orders were heavily favored in that one. So anything can happen. Moving forward team kept plugging away, though. My last another defenseman here tonight. Yeah, they did. Adam Ball question. I think that's gonna be an extended injury. Just the way it looked at it. I hope it's not broken anything like that. But the way it was kind of dangling is your skating off the ice and the way that he was holding, and it was Instant reaction and kind of in the same way that reminded me of Kirby Doc when he skated off the ice, and I mean there was no hesitation. It was straight down into the Hawks locker room, so another opportunity for somebody to step in and place him. Some games down. The end here with the book was possibly being out long term. Hopefully, that is not the case. But you know for the Blackhawks. They've been banged up on the blue line and they still getting some decent production. I thought their first period was really good. The goaltending Kevin Lincoln and gave up three goals. On six shots and was pulled after the first period eventually, But the Hawks had some really good looks in the first period. I thought that they're more their energy was good. They were moving their feet and they had some good looks advance Celeski who let You know, as this game war on just Tampa, you know, kind of took advantage of some of the mistakes on the wrong side of pucks. And all of a sudden they're in the back of the net. They're a good team. I mean that they basically have the exact same lineup without a couple of their key guys that hurt right now, that won the cup last year, and I think that As they last couple weeks of the season kind of progress here, you'll see that the Kappa team play, um at a different level, moving forward, get themselves prepared for the push in the playoffs, the depth and the quality of that death really, really shone through as much of the black box. Kept kept plugging away at this one. Despite you know the score being lopsided. A couple of various points they didn't quit, which is which is really good to see. They didn't quit on the No Tampa me they executed well, when they had some looks, they executed Brandon Hagel is downstairs about to meet the media..

Kevin Lincoln Alex Killorn Eric Chernykh Adam Ball Brandon Hagel Jeremy Collinson Aaron Stamkos Florida Panthers Chicago Blackhawks Kuchar Chris Putin 49 points March 5th Celeski Bridgestone Arena Dallas Stars Filip Forsberg Carolina Dallas
