Security Studies Group President Jim Hanson on the Latest Putin-Biden Talks

"He is a D.C. flamethrower in the best way former weapons, a special forces green beret. He is the president of the security studies group. And he's in studio one on one. Jim Hansen welcome back. Good to be with you. So much to discuss so much territory to cover. Let's start at the beginning of, well, let's start at the last 48 hours. We have the mainstream media. Desperately desperately trying to convince us, Jim, that Putin couldn't look into sleepy Joe's face because he's afraid of him. I am 100% certain that was not the case. I think Putin if anything had to be turning his head to stop from laughing into the camera. Did you pick your someone less capable of taking on a savage tyrant like Putin than Joe Biden, even at his best, that is best he was lost in space. Now he's barely able to stop drooling. There is no way Putin takes him serious. So what does that mean geopolitically? As the guy who looks at strategic stuff day in day out, we have a 100,000 troops to master along the Ukrainian border. We've got a guy called Stoltenberg in Brussels, rattling some rusty sabri Moscow with ill effect. We've got Merkel on her way out. We've got the UK obsessed with arresting people who aren't wearing masks is yesterday's quote unquote telephone summit. Is this just the prelude for him saying, okay guys, step on the gas. Yes, sucks to be Ukraine. Is the takeaway from all that? I mean, there is no reason for Putin to not do it unless Biden's actually got to pay off. It's worth it for him. Right. And that's the thing. That's the only way these guys are going to make any foreign policies by paying people. They already gassing up another plane to pay the mullahs. So the Iranian negotiations are just more proof that all you gotta do is put a little pressure on them and they'll cave. They reenacted the Obama foreign policy of cringing capitulation. And so Putin's going to take advantage

"I want to talk for a moment about the terror attack, I think it was a terror attack. Would you agree? Yeah. In Wisconsin. Yeah, well, I'm surprising now, but I very rarely surmise. I'm known for waiting and people sometimes want comments from me immediately and us have to wait till the facts are in. Well, let me put a big if. If everything that has been reported is accurate, that a black lifelong criminal decided to murder as many people as possible. I presume all are nearly all were white. And that it happened in Wisconsin the week after Kyle this is what's his last name. Right now. Kyle Kyle rittenhouse was declared not guilty. Days, yeah, days after. I think it's fair to say that we have here a case of desire to murder people because he was a terrible human being to begin with. And was taught by the black and white left to hate whites. A few deny that you're lying to yourself and I have no possible way to handle that. That is one that is one form. Of pathology that I can not deal with. If you lie to yourself, I have no hope. You can't say whites are racist, all whites are racist, which is what every one of your kids is taught at 99% of the universities that your kids might attend. All whites are racist, the country is systemically racist, black men are in jail for no good reason and that it's not affect a certain percentage of blacks who will then have such anger at lights as to desire to harm them.

"But these guys on CNN are hard to hard to stomach. And yet there can be moments of civility and disagreement without really being disagreeable. Last night, Mark Davis, morning host on 6 60 a.m. the answer in Dallas appeared again with Chris Cuomo to talk about the Kyle rittenhouse case. Here's how it went. Let's bring in conservative radio host Mark Davis from 6 60 a.m. the answer in Dallas Fort Worth. It's good to see you. Not to seem prejudicial, but one step sideways. This is Veterans Day. Your father would have been 90 years old. He was a 20 year vet in the air force. Thank you for his service and thank you family for it. Man, thank you guys for you and the staff are clearly reading why Twitter feed on a number of levels. And I so appreciate it. Thank you, Chris. All right. Well, we're human first. Now let's have the discussion here. Do I have it right that you don't believe rittenhouse should be on trial that you believe he did the right thing going there? And that he did the right thing in the face of imminent threat of his own life. Now that I've seen the evidence and what a crazy thing that is waiting to see the evidence I strongly encourage it, I believe this does belong on the list of events where and you'll see them often, where something happens. Somebody's in their home. They take some action in self defense. A number of things that speak of self defense. And the authorities look at this and they say, you know, this really does look like self defense and maybe we don't even prosecute in this case. I believe this smacks of exactly that, and you are also correct in giving voice to my suggestion that in taking just 48 hours to reach this decision that this prosecution, which is clearly flailing is absolutely responding to the streets of Kenosha, which were demanding and a lot of voices, many of whom you've been hearing tonight or just demanding this kid's head on a platter because to not do so would seem to be insensitive to the Jacob Blake

"Let's start backwards. Last 48 hours, John Durham, who is appointed by Bill Barr, issued some indictments. One of the indictments that he issued was towards this new figure and you would know about him if you were really into this. But a guy by the name of Igor danchenko. Now Igor danchenko is supposed to be a Russian specialist. Igor danchenko is someone that formerly worked at the brookings institution a Dante is a Russian born U.S. based researcher. He worked at the brookings institution from 2005 to 2010, and he was a former official in Bill Clinton's State Department. And so danchenko's role was not really clear up until the last 48 hours. So the centerpiece of all of this, the centerpiece for the whisper campaign against Trump, the basis for to get Mueller and to spy on Trump was a document. It was a piece of work known as the dossier. The dossier was compiled by none other than former British spy Christopher Steele. But Christopher Steele compiled the dossier in what has always been a focus for those of us that have wanted to get the truth is who were his sources. Well, the main source, the main Russian source was Igor danchenko. Now, this dossier, this document, this summary, fraudulent one and fake one was then fed to the FBI and the press and was later used in fisa surveillance warrants against Trump aide Carter page, and then through surveilling Trump's pages communications, the Clinton Obama regime was able to spy on the Trump campaign.

But the number one issue the number one issue as to why all of a sudden, the Virginia governor's race has been flipped upside down is schools. New polling shows that parents of K through 12 children. That means suburban women, and fathers, in Virginia, 56% of them want a Republican governor I can't imagine that this is not a recipe for victory for the Republican. Fauci Under Fire for Sick and Twisted Beagle Puppy Experiments

"According to documents obtained by a freedom of information request, white coat waste project and subsequent media coverage, from October 2018 to February 2019, NIA spent $1.86 million of taxpayer funds on drug tests involving 48 beagle puppies. The dogs were all between 6th and 8 months old the commission test involved injecting and force feeding the puppies and experimental drug for several weeks before killing them and dissecting them. Fauci funding experiment again in Tunisia, as we mentioned where they had to have starved, sandflies, beast on them alive. The invoice to the naid for the actual work was four or dect. Known as devocalization involves slitting a dog's vocal cords in order to prevent them from barking, howling or crying. Approximately 30% of all the promising medication have failed in human clinical trials because they are found to be toxic, despite promising preclinical preclinical trials and animal models. But 60% of the candidate drug fails due to lack of efficacy. The people who fund the torture of dogs should not be able to make medical decisions about your children. The people that have time and time again said that we want beagles heads to be eaten alive by sandflies in Tunisia, which again is something out of some sort of James Bond movie. What does that say for the type of leader that we actually have in the federal health bureaucracy? What does that say actually for Fauci and for Francis Collins themselves and now Fauci comes out and he says that he wants to have vaccines available for children than the first week or two in November. Some people are gonna say these two things are unrelated. I won't. Anyone who tortures beagles, I'm gonna stop listening to you about anything. Like you're a sick person. You need

"Know you've probably heard the biggest you know the biggest commandment from jesus perspective to love your you know larger god with all your heart soul mind strength and to love to love your neighbor as yourself right and i know we've talked about it in the past about you know being honest with yourself and being able to love yourself and being able to put others you know and we've talked a lot about love. I think in the past net necessarily making that a focal point of an episode by any means. But if you truly are thankful you should be able to offer your love to god just as you would offer love to your your spouse to your children to those around you. And 'cause god loves you even if you are down in the dumps right. He's still providing for you. You reach out to him. He's going to help. You might not be the exact answer that you're looking for right but again he's gonna do things at a time right. The perfect time and god is love and when we're created in his image over created in the image of love and when we love god and we love the world and we love those around us. We're reflecting god's image and that's what recreated to do is you know be in his image and bear his image to the world around us an offer hope to other people. Obviously we're going to go into more details of that next week when we go into the life of jesus christ and what that means for us but i really think it's important for us understand just the basic foundation of human creation in why humans were created and then dive deeper and deeper into that recreated to bring glory to god isaiah forty three seven says everyone who is called my name and whom i have created for my glory whom i have formed even whom. I've made like that saying that god has called us all for his glory. He has formed us. He has made us so cool. So as we continue in this conversation in our next couple of episodes just refer back to this one. this is kind of We're just laying a little bit of a foundation here of of how god created you on purpose and and different reasons of you know yes. There's a there's a time and a place why he did right he could you know he chose to create me in nineteen eighty four right. He could have. He could have chosen to create me in in nine hundred but he didn't because he had a plan and purpose for my life now in such a time as this so keep that in mind as we move forward into the next couple of episodes and no we know this one is a little on the shorter side but we wanted to just lay some groundwork here and q. You up for what we're getting into so please Back will will continue to dive into this and get into some a little deeper areas about how god created you and if you have any questions or comments or rebuttals or anything like that feel free to reach out to us you can email us at info at fallen short.

"So it's so cool like all these scriptures we just shotgun at you is saying. Hey god created human beings with a distinct purpose and you yourself are human being fatty sny. We're human beings so we're created with a specific timing in history where created with eternity in our hearts were created through him and we're created for him like we shotgun all these little scriptures that you to get to the point that it's no queen keating. We're here right like we're created on purpose. God does not make mistakes. He has created each of us for reason. And i wanna hit that home. Because i know in my life i wondered if i was a mistake at times and if there was much of a point to my life or if i really had a purpose and so maybe somebody listening is struggling with those same fatso. They've had so. I just wanna hit that home before we got too much into this. That hopefully make sense to you. And and hopefully it stirs your heart to even read some of these scriptures. We've been saying another thing. We're created sooner created by god we're also created to be in his presence created to worship him were created for his glory. It's awesome in luke. Nineteen forty where it says that will basically in the story. Jesus the disciples and people are worshiping. Christ jesus and and people are like. Why are you doing this. You need to be quiet. And jesus response was to them. I tell you that if these should keep silent even those stones will immediately cry out so if we are silent and we are not calling out to god that god doesn't need us to worship him for our approval by any means but that's what we're created to do is we're created a worship him and so we don't cry out. The stones will cry out. That's jesus who said that. Also love when you read the story about jesus in the woman at the well in john four talks about you know she's kind of asking..

Compared to intermediate fasten. There are a lot more a lot more extended now. Doing the intermediate fasten. You obviously get weight loss. I mean we all know that you get in weight loss bud during the prolonged fast and you get a lot more benefits of weight loss which is obviously a hey. You didn't haven't been eating eaten for three days. You probably will lose more weight like that. So that's one of the benefits going to lose more weight. But i wanna talk more about better more important benefits in my teen when you go for that. And it's more of the health benefits that's m. self production increases. Like you know just totally siding with her and then leave. Msci told the other friend can you. Can you tell him what you think about this. And which i understand. She had her. She had marry under slight very understandable reasons for doing that. But i was like well. No i was talking shit. I was talking shit to be there for you. Know talking shit works you. Don't tell the person live. we're talking shit about what i said. Yeah you complain. The your friend did this to you. I say fuck that friend. That's like a piece of shed goes up to pay survive and don't tell him beat said you're a piece of shit. Yeah next time you have a fight with this friend. But that's not how this works because the person was receiving it very understandably as like. Wow vallon p really believed this. They think i'm right. And the truth is is like yeah. I can get in touch with a part of me. That totally thinks you're right. There's and so a hundred other parts of me that if you want me to talk to the your friend I could probably find way to side with them. Yeah i guess. That's what i mean is maybe not an exhibit in your case. Now yeah i could see somebody really tearing this argument to shreds. Because i get so. I'm open to this being so wrong but to me. It's like a friend calls you and they're like i'm singing this song and you're like alright. I'll sing the song to and then they're holding you to like so when you said i can't get no satisfaction you you tell them about how you're not satisfied. You're like you're just singing the songs. So i started singing lyrics. Don't matter i'm just trying to make it was just support. Yeah and then. It's a betrayal of that support to go like and then they said europe fucking idiot. I didn't feel edison and now when we go. This is off the record. Do not hold us to talking to a journalist. You can't go and tell the friend that. I said they're super because when i talked to them about you you're stupid so just just know that this is some bullshit to make you feel better because the ultimate truth is everybody stupid. That's why. I really think that human beings are inadequate libraries. And we're all going around being. It's like me and andrew santana joking that we don't know what the suez canal is. It's like we're all of us. Have all these gaps but all of us feel charged with acting like we don't have any gaps..

"I is it from worker. Power now Books where he describes watching ducks and before it would have an altercation they would be still and flow in. You know one of them would inevitably come into somebody else's there's somebody else another ducks territory and they would have an altercation that lasted you know. Maybe one minute and then they would part ways and they would once they were separated they would flap their wings to like get rid of the energy of the fear and anger of the altercation and almost every animal. I think has some form of that lake. Bears who are tagged like polar bears or whatever tagged will shake for a while to like release the trauma and the fear of that experience It's like a beautiful design that animals have and we have to were meant to have the experience have an of flooding of energy and physically released that energy in one way or another crying laughing dancing shaking like we have a lot of different ways of doing but most often we go with denying that you feel that way and not releasing it in any way out. That is me like what what was on the menu when i fell just sort of pent up and a little blocked certainly jerkin it certainly eating. We'd i don't drink anymore of a back in the day would have been booze or a movie. All of these like escapes. And i don't know. I hope that i can stay in a space where i remember that the best one. I've been off nicotine gum for a while. Now for years. I was just gonna say you can see the clear. Differences like one is releasing the energy and the other is numbing it or distracting from it or thirty nine so that energy is still in you and guests when it's probably gonna come out tomorrow at breakfast with them again but there's an accumulation but you are self yourself cleaning up. It was the best. So i've been doing like i said the treadmill every day and a lot of days it's been a slog. Today was a fucking. I had so much energy. It was easy and fun. It was almost like the parents diet do you. Are you afraid that some of the worst attributes of your parents inside you juice cleanse..

I said this might end up being the best horse of all time and I was more right than wrong. Yeah and already knew because when you ride one that good you're like you know like that's like do the first time ever run steer on him the first year they the horses aren't like this. You know he was nine or ten years old and it was unbelievable how hard he tried in how good he worked. You just know in what was what was like that to be just a different level. Well to me I think this there's horses that can teach you how to win. And what a good one should feel like and the earlier you can get autumn at a younger age and understand how to keep them working like what you had to do. I think that when you get those horses like do it makes it where you can make them. I do I do think it set you up. It's kind of the way you learn to row now but I think that's been tough from me. The older I got because the Scotland so fast because back in the day I would be like when I started riding thumper he was low. The same way to thumper was a little odd because he was like my wife wrote him a bunch of kids. Rhodium her mom. The whole family had wrote him and he'll horse ahead horse and they just Kinda all used him he just didn't quite give it his all but he always worked good and then so he kinda got better just the more I wrote him but I think he had it in him so it was a little later process like I guess but yeah it shows you that if you are running a piece of junk that there's better out there and you need to go find it but nowadays guys win on pieces of Jack I think just they use a rope so good so it's chain but back then. If you had a good horse I never wrote the Barron Walton felt like I never missed hardly like I just turned every steer I wouldn't even have to reach nothing. Just let him do the work and it was good enough. All the time will to connect to go back to that that work ethic and develop and really work on Europen. There's a couple things jump out to me about your heading. Everyone has for a while whenever they want whenever they talk about. You're heading it's this rope on the gain head shot that you have basically develop throughout the years. When did that really start to come into play? Was that Walt. That was teaching that or do you think that was a little closer to win you. Maybe like had do or I'm not real sure I don't really know either. I felt like I was the only guy that could do it. Good for a while now. I feel like everybody does it. I mean I think that's what's changed with rope and I felt like for a while I was the only that was really good at it and I pry few others but I don't think there's anyone good at it. Well is. There's a lot of guys that are good at it now but there wasn't for a while. There was a spa. There you know or it seemed like when roping for a while there everybody run close so they reached and I was just kinda right in the middle ground turned a lot of them. It's still fast if you do it right And it was just good. You know for regular season Rodeo and you know doing good at the jackpots. But I don't know when I was pretty good on wall. I mean we were just young. I mean if if I'd have been a little older and had walter you know Travis had so many good years on you. I mean the first year I wrote him. I wrote him a lot the first year. I wrote him a lot where I wrote him. Well I wasn't in the NFL. Like third year. Now with Caleb. He was twenty years old. And I'm twenty two that that doesn't happen nowadays there. You won't have a twenty two and twenty healer hardly go into the NFL third nowadays and if they did is because they won fifty thousand one. Rodeo we just did it grind in doubt and that doesn't happen so have there's something there was a horse you know. Caleb road good I wrote good too. We had he had a good horse horse and honestly and goes ahead. Worse than any of it you know. I didn't rope near as good on anything else. And so yeah the horse back horses everything it seemed like you know for Charles or t woman had a good one or anybody. I mean it was just a lot the horse well and I think Heddon back even I think heading ten years ago or I. I don't know I think when I first bought that black horse of mine. That has so much around. It seemed like all the scores. When you dropped. You just blew and you could go kind of the won closed shot and and at one a lot and now it's like you don't want quite as much run and it's yeah yeah a little slower doesn't hurt sometimes being forced into reach in yet because the Horse I got now compared to all those. He's honestly prime my favorite radio or severe. Had 'cause you he's not. He's not as fast as Walter do was but yet you can reach and he's got enough to where it just seems like a winner like he'll catch up on runs and he let you win on the slow on. Kinda can reach from close. Just kind of is tough. I mean rattle will all right so going back to this heading on the game. When do you think that was so when win? Did you like? Hey this is my shot. This is when I have it down or when did you try to really work on that? And refined that in the practice pin man just felt like years honestly just going out there and you know just back in the day everybody wave it off doing it can keep it on the horns me. Included is keep trying and trying to try and figuring out getting your timing down felt like I don't really know if I ever got it But certain horses are easier to do it on than others but like I said nowadays. It's just changed like everything seemed like a slow process and then all the sudden I swear when things changed. Now it's like it's hard to tell back then because it's just more of a slow process than than just sitting out on your sixteen. It seems like all these kids start Rodeo and start reaching you know yes. I don't even know if it's good roper. Now it's just there's a lot of it. There's a lot of teams I don't even like watching some of it. I don't even want to sound like curmudgeon but I watch like Livingston Slack. One year there's eight teams maybe seven eight good. I mean it's seventy mrs in eight catches is what it feels like it. Just anyone good to watch to me. But that's the way reopen is now and if you're GONNA win year GONNA mess up. That's why I don't like about rope. Felt for while there. I could rope kind of getting off track but you could just make any mistakes. It feels like I mess up all the time now and it kind of feels like you have to take chances all the time. I totally agree so is going all of it. Didn't feel like that forever. Felt like you know for ten years if you just you know road your horse. Good didn't break. The barrier now. Feels like you need to be in the barrier and if you want to win the Jackpot you better make some good runs. Yeah and it it. It felt like you know when I was doing the best. It felt like if I got a lead back off catch still in the open now. There'll be somebody two seconds behind you and they'll just throw out the barrier next thing you know they're ahead of you. This win caught. And that's what's to me has changed the most right a couple like dustin squeeze and there's guys that are doing it pretty consistent guys trying to copy him. They're not good at it. You know he's good at it but just copycats make it to where I really don't even know how they afford to do it but they do it. And then they'll catch one out of erode you'll catch one out of six one out of five and you just hope it's not the day where you made a good run to you know that's the thing now. There's nobody wants to be the squeeze. There's only one that's doing that I think's good. You Know He. He's different he's somebody I there's lots of good but I'm saying he's the he's the best. I'm not his game. Yeah what He. He doesn't go with the Radios Union. Go Past Twenty feet out of the box no matter what just throws it every time. So there's guys that copy it there terrible at it. But they tried to copy him and he's not terrible at it but they're trying to copy him so they're just you get a Lotta copycats and that's why Rodeo and that's why Rodeo tough now is just a bunch of guys try and they're not good at it but they catch out of five and if you get enough guys trying it just makes it tough. Well Yeah I think that's what's gotten really interesting about the Rodeos over the last when we are video on a kind of showing the highlights on you know better than anyone you video at all. Yeah so I can tell you without a doubt. If ten teams went it was probably a thirty percent catch percentage that was head or like at a one one hundred sometimes and then sometimes like Livingston. It would be one out of ten and then still four four win last you know. Yeah at a ten money Rodeo because only one out of ten teams in one hundred teamer have to catch the road of just be nasty. So yeah it's yeah it's how you have to wrote it's just to me. It's terrible watching all. It's it's real boring and then real excited. Yeah you're right. You're like man. These team roper suck. And then you'll watch and then fifty teams awaiting four four one at fifth. Yeah and read the results when it's over you understand while every hundred teams all hundred teams tried. They tried yeah. Yeah and it's it'll definitely play the emotions when you're early. You missed one like Oh man. I think I just left a bunch of money in the related. Now all right so I heard that you would swing. You're out in front of the Mirror to work on your swing. Set Your Amir a little bit when I was younger when I was a kid They so you don't have a girlfriend or yet or a little older than my kids are now but so they had video cameras the over the shoulder. What I would do is I would set it up on a barrel and I wrote the head dummy and so I'd say make bounty remember now. Pride Twenty thirty loops than go. Watch it and then come back and do it again and basically watching to see if I looked like some of the guys that I'd seen rope on TV Jake Barnes or t woman or speed probably was. Just come along you know then. I don't even know if he'd been but just kind of whoever the best guys were..

Oh yeah thanks for having me so you know I spent a bit of time in my car just commuting to work and back right and so I've realized there's two things that have been invented by mankind that very thankful for and I appreciate but I feel not everyone should have access to them right so like certain people. Just that should should just taken away. The first thing is cars. The cars just shouldn't be so easily accessible to people because there's a lot of fucking idiots yeah not everyone everyone should be behind the wheel right exactly because you have a pulse doesn't mean you should be driving around. Maybe make the test. A little harder may two days and don't just drive them in in a fucking parking lot. He'd be like a motorcycle test. I feel like in other parts of the world in order to get it. You have to like at least parallel park. It's pretty different. Maybe even maybe even. New York mass to parallel park in Massachusetts in new and they did yeah like I feel like it's probably Florida where they should take your license away and then you know the second one which probably wouldn't translate well with social media and stuff but I'm very glad exists exists because it's nice to have the option but not everyone deserves to have a camera phone. Okay you know where you're going with this. You know you told me more to will everyone's out there taking pictures and videos at the concerts. You wonder how like you almost made it into your own world. We saw a picture right of. Maybe your grandparents and it'd be like wow you know like and you think the coolest thing about it in your head what if like like there's a video and like your grandma and Grandpa like acting totally different than you think of writing that picture in one video right right but it's nice to have like just a photo to like okay so you're red rocks and your one of your favorite shows red rocks is there whenever you get a nicer call some photo then you can go back and see that for me like. Oh and it'll trigger memories. Hopefully you'll have eight you parts of that to the photo like the smell in the air or if they're GonNa Light Rain on the breeze now thirty five snapchat yeah or like somebody he's just laughing you know yeah. Let's be honest here at red rocks your ripta mushroom so we don't want to hear you freaking out screaming and young yeah we'll. We'll just also like you have the memory in your mind. Yeah granted. "48%" Discussed on Movies of the Damned!!

"Wordpress the press dot com today we'll be discussing ari astor's twenty eighteen film hereditary the movie opens as any grieves the death of her mother ellen with her husband steve son peter and daughter charlie charlie any grief soon escalates as soon after charlie's decapitated in a car accident any begins attending a support group and forms a friendship with member joan join eventually teaches anne how to conduct a seance so she can communicate with charlie this saying on seemingly seemingly works but it soon revealed that jordan were actually friends and members of kovin and that the sands actually released a demon who takes over peter the movie ends with annie and steve dead and covert member surrounding peter bowing and swearing an oath to him. Just let everyone know this movie was suggested to us by blake doc. He reached out to us over email and let us know that he just started listening to the podcast and would love to hear an episode on hereditary so that's how we got here today john opening thoughts in the movie okay. I just have to say thanks to blake because i've never seen this movie before and you'd never seen this. Oh man i loved it. Loved it <hes> i should've i've seen it before so i i know toni collette who played any shoes in a show called the united states. A terrier received that i never have no does a great job in that show so i knew she was a great great actor actor and she's also the the mama the boy in six cents. Oh my gosh yes oh. She's she's been around and then you have gabriel byrne. The dad who's from usual suspects uh-huh. He's he's awesome. He's always been around your credit so i should've watched us. There's a good cast surprised that you didn't because it also got rave reviews and we'll get into that later but yeah i'm surprised is you never seen yeah so. I never saw and i just want to say thanks. This is great film as a unique thing to happen. Was it got. My wife watched it with me. She never watches horror movies but i told her because twenty colette was in issue so we i'll watch that because she used to watch that show united states a terrorist talking about so yeah. I'll watch that so. She got a good scare out of it so yes. She did enjoy she. She's not she's not really like. It's not so supernatural. Films doesn't don't bother her in a sense because she doesn't doesn't believe in the supernatural to that extent like it's not like <hes> <hes> so like when the movie's over she's not scared he takes she wouldn't go to she wouldn't go to bed and be thinking about or be scared right. Yeah and i'm the exact same way right so <hes>. I'm more like if i watch a slasher film and it's very scary or murder. The film is very scary. I might look at the closet alot weird but supernatural films. I don't right. There's only in the moment so like she really enjoyed it. <hes> thought it was very well done and and <hes> and sort of like i and it's really hard. She's very tough critic on horror movies so like i it's for that i i'd say this is a just a well done movie nia a confession for you yeah so i saw this when it first came out in theaters okay and and honestly i didn't love it the for how i saw really really and i i don't know what it was because i enjoyed it much more second time through but maybe i just i was expecting something think different. This might not be like the a typical horror movie doesn't fall that that normal kind of tons of jump scares and things like that yeah so maybe i was just expecting something different. I i don't wanna say it was slow in parts. Put definitely was a bit of a build. Holy cow eyed no point that i find the slow. Oh no i i again much more the second time in the second time through i kind of picked up on a lot more things i'm like oh. This is included that in this this goes with with that type of thing yeah yeah so. I give this a positive review. I enjoyed it much more the second time i decided to confess to you that the first time i i'm like what's all the hoopla bet with this thing but i definitely did enjoy when i watched it for this podcast now well. That's that's good because it was actually really good so let's explore like six or this is a little more are so hereditary the title itself what would that mean to you when you first thought of it like when you see when i saw the movie would that mean in terms of this movie for you. I guess like things being passed down from generation to generation yeah and that's enormous a standard one right so i mean what was passed down in terms of this movie though right. What were you thinking when i wash it mental illness the right so they had to themes though dead dead the seem <hes> hereditary mental illness which when and anyone that grief recovery she explained almost her whole family history in a short short exposition within it sounded horrible yeah but it was it was brilliant like much information. There wasn't that small exposition. Yeah it was awesome so you're exploring two things you're exploring the mental illness aspect and you're exploring the supernatural aspect aspect right because there was supernatural aspect to it but you didn't know which one it was right so i thought that was very very clever so she saw her mom in her room right in the in the corner at that point and then <hes> you know and then there's also brought to attention when she first meets joan <hes> jones outside the grief recovery place you don't really remember seeing her inside the grief the thing right so the first few times that she's running in the joan no-one else caesar caesar so what you in a lot of other films when no one else sees this person that you've suddenly matt or whatever it can mean one of two things right that that person's not real or that there because it's part of your mental illness and you're creating this person to afford your own <hes> narrative in your head or <hes>. She's part of this. This group group that the grandmas a part of and then there. There's there's so many small things that were going on this so i thought okay well. It must be supernatural because because there's too many weird things going on right so it's like when charlie was standing over <hes> her grandmother's casket and that weird guy with the the spiked blond hair was sitting there smiling staring out her. You can't just call it smiling grinning like yeah joker type grin so it was like a so an then. I was thinking okay well. Maybe the hereditary aspect is that <hes> they're passing down the ability to see goes oh right so i thought that might be part of it but then you know like but you don't know and there's there's so many different breadcrumbs. You cannot really get a good handle on it but they're all plausible so they make those story very well. Put together together so i was very happy with that so you know the symbol on the necklace and all that type of stuff that was on the pool that decapitated <hes> the daughter. Oh really yeah so when they're i go to the parties. They stopped at that pool and the has the symbol of the necklace on it so i'm like okay that pulls going to be involved. Somehow i had no idea it was gonna take the daughters head off. I didn't pick up on that. All that's wild no eyesight. Yeah i saw it and i noticed it so it's just like i was like okay whoa that's weird and then <hes> you know on the way back <hes> there are some small tidbits that were kind of annoying and in dover all part of the film rate so <hes> but they're so small mall to the whole thing and then but you you go on and tell me what you liked about it and then because there's some parts that i wanted to discuss with you that i didn't really think about until after it was lying in bed. Okay okay so it. It kind of left some things with you. Yeah the one scene that that i loved that <hes> terrified me. <hes> is when peter and charley charlie are at that party. She kind of finds peter and she's kind of having that like n._f._l. Lactic reaction to the nuts that was cake and she can't breathe and she's kind of wheezing a little bit and they're in the car and like i'm on the edge of my seat there right. I'm like oh my gosh yeah and then i didn't see the decapitation coming in the first time right. Yeah i was wild but then when i thought was even more wild. Is that the kind of presented lake okay. We know that this has happened but we're i'm not going to really show anything right as in like they're not gonna show the head or anything like that always then yeah and then he goes home and he goes in lies in bed ed and then you kind of the camera focusing on his face as you hear like the mom any in the background finding the body and then it flashes to the head that that's kinda rotting on the ground right yeah that made me jump breaks not expect that at all suck blew that whole sequence of events that whole scene terrified me and then a kind of payoff moment at the end. They're really caught me off guard so see. It didn't terrify me. I just didn't know where the where the where it was going right so choking. I can't choking would tear talking drowning. Those two things would terrify me more than anything. I think all cassie what you're saying. I was just kind of putting myself in the position of charles very apathetic bernice. You're you're nice. You're nice guy so up but what i was more like you know throughout the party full of teenagers <hes> <hes> no one has an epi pen. You think someone there would be allergic to something especially like now you know what i mean like our lease you would add ah got an epi pen yeah as he's dragging her out like every pens on your right throwing her in the car and trying to get her to hospital yeah so typically you you have twenty minutes depending on how severe urology is long. Did it take her to find him. No that's not that's not what i mean. No right all i just i mean that he could ask for that. <hes> co- call like in maybe that is your first instinct to g- to get in the car and drive with her <hes> i. I don't know i think i think it'd be. I don't know what i'd do in this situation so i'm not going to protect myself on that. I just thought it was odd that like you're at a a houseful house party. Full love teenagers and almost everyone is allergic to something. Nowadays you think one of them would have an epi pen and you would ask for it. That's all that's the only that's the only thing i had about that okay and so so that's one thing that you're questioning what is decision making of after the decapitation he drives home and get into bed see. I didn't know i this that that was interesting to me because i didn't know <hes> because they're the whole freddie report right about about the mental illness right so it's like you know my mom had it. My brother had had it like a years. All throat and you could charlie was a little odd. You know very beginning so there's a lot of that going on right so i didn't know if like <hes> <hes> in the morning charlie was gonna walk in his room go. Hey you know urs those fun last night. Yeah you know what i mean. I didn't know what what was good and then he'll be like. <hes> what's nightside and know if they're going to try to show his deterioration or if it actually happened because at that point you didn't know which way the movie was going yes right so but the but when the poll with the symbol on it as like okay. There's also made you think okay. Maybe this is supernatural thing right that that she says she's not dead or there's something going on here that he's certain that she that she was dead because you know he saw he saw her head on the side of the road. Whatever the case let me be your saw something on the side whatever you certain she was dead so then he starts to question his own mental illness but it still it but also has a supernatural natural head like hint to it. I didn't know what was going on really and which is refreshing. I really liked when i don't. I can't guess and they're leaving all these breadcrumbs. I i love it when they do it that way. I think that a very good job with that. No no no fair fair enough right and in this movie was kind of all over the place <hes> but with any movie there's gonna be things that we kind of have to question and be like come on now yep how when she tells her husband. I'm going to the movie and he leaves that kinda. I'm like really like if if me and my wife are coming home from a funeral beat any any funeral or lake the funeral of her mother and she's just a young new movie. I might awesome follow up questions there. Nobody here's the thing and this is why i thought it was very very clever the way they set it up right because when they got home from the funeral the first thing she asks her husband is like should i feel sad..
