He says nothing for 48 hours about the impending arrest of the 45th and potentially 47th president of the United States. And then in the press conference on Monday on another topic he's asked and he does this snarky thing twice. He has to talk about hush money for porn stars twice and get giggles from the peanut gallery. It's an NDA. I signed an NDA with president Trump in 2015 and I ain't no porn star. I was writing security papers for the presidential nominee debate and an NDA is absolutely normal. So the idea that he says this is none of our business I'm going to concentrate on Florida. You're a former jagran rule of law should matter to you in the interview with pays Morgan was a bloody embarrassment.

Ram Ahluwalia Catches Us Up on Credit Suisse
"Where I want to start is sort of a little bit of a catch up on Credit Suisse. And so maybe first, we could talk a little bit about what happened over the last week. We're recording this on Monday. I think that's extremely important for people to know, because I think it'll come out on Wednesday and who knows what will transpire in the next 48 hours between them. But I think it would be really helpful to have sort of a short primer to help ground us in terms of understanding how much the things going on with Credit Suisse were credits we specific versus symptomatic of larger problems. And so maybe if we could kind of just start with, you know, what happened with Credit Suisse, you know, what the resolution was, and then maybe we can try to understand and piece through what the causality was. Sure thing. So let me frame it up. UBS and CS were the two top wealth managers in Switzerland, CES, sometime around September, October of last year, their share price took a dive as kind of floating around $3 or so. And the main issues there were around arca ghost, which was a hedge fund blew up that creditors had lending exposure to. And then also just a litany of issues around CS and compliance and open litigation around that. Now, fast forward to call it the last one or two weeks, CS started experiencing runs on the bank. They had deposit flight and the regulators were trying to broker some kind of transaction with UBS and CS was also in a parallel path looking to raise equity capital. So their largest shareholder, which is Saudi Arabia, declined to invest more than their 10% ownership interest in CS. They share that news, I believe it was Thursday of last week. And the reveal of that news caused further loss of confidence in CS and accelerator with the roles. So that was the principle event. That really accelerated the demise of CS. So what happened yesterday, there is an announcement that UBS will be acquiring select parts of credit Swiss.

Rich Baris Claims Ron DeSantis Has "Scott Walkered" Himself
"The desantis thing. You said yesterday on I think Steve Bannon's program that Steve that you think Steve Bannon, I'm sorry, you think that Ron DeSantis Scott walker himself, what do you mean by that? So this was, again, if you go back and look at it, I don't think anybody can make anyone can objectively look at that video and not come to the same conclusion. This was a very managed. They spent 72 hours almost working on the response and then the quib that he threw in there like a zinger. It was supposed to be and look, he's going to run for president, right? So he's not running yet, but it's fair game. Trump's taking shots at you. You know, Barnes and he was talking about this last night. I totally agree. He's taking shots at you. You can take shots on him back. But if you want to explain to the Republican voter that you're serious and you understand where we are right now as a country, what we're facing, that this is a, you know, I hate to use this word, but that this is a war for the soul of the country. Then you need to be more serious in this. And he could have Ron DeSantis could add a big moment yesterday. Even though we waited, which he should not have, he could have had a big moment. That was a canned, very Scott walker like response for those who don't know what I'm talking about. Second presidential debate, Scott walker was once considered a very strong governor, strong candidate, the dark horse of anything. And he killed himself 48 hours after he made that mister president. We don't need an apprentice in The White House. So it shouldn't surprise anybody that the kind of content you're getting out of Ron DeSantis is what we saw from Scott walker.

Was Signature Shut Down to Send an Anti-Crypto Message?
"We are in the thick of it. The last 48 hours have been some of the loudest, most contentious times we've seen since 2008. There have been fierce debates about whether or not to protect depositors at Silicon Valley bank after it was shut down by regulators on Friday, accusations that the venture capital class was fomenting a larger run on small and regional banks just to serve its own purposes. Genuine fear of larger contagion and intense pressure on the federal government to announce action to give small businesses and other depositors confidence that they weren't going to be out of luck based on who they chose to banquet. Out of the combination of it last night, there was finally an announcement about what was to happen with Silicon Valley bank. The TLDR was that the bank depositors would be made whole. The fed would use a fund already paid into by banks to pay for it. IE no taxpayer money, shareholders and management would be wiped out, and on top of all that, a new fed funding facility was being established to try to address the underlying issues. Oh, and also, by the way, signature bank was being shut down as well because of quote unquote systemic risk. Wait, signature bank you say? Wasn't that sort of the last remaining bank servicing crypto companies? The same one that had been under intense pressure for the last few months to stop servicing those that crypto companies had switched over to after silvergate announced a voluntary wind down last week. Yep, that's the one, and wait, you might also say, no other bank was preemptively placed in FDIC receivership before markets even opened? Even others, like first republic that we're facing even more scrutiny from investors, that's correct. It was just the bank servicing crypto customers that was unaligned by the U.S. government. I asked last week whether silvergate was a political assassination. I pointed to the gloating of politicians like Elizabeth Warren and sherrod Brown in the aftermath to the open letters from war and senator Kennedy and others that undermined confidence in silvergate back in December, and I also asked questions about why silver Gates FHLB $4.3 billion loan had been withdrawn so quickly after it was made. Even with all that, the preemptive shutdown of signature bank before there was a true bank run is even more egregious and attack on crypto by a group of regulators who hate it. Matthew Graham wrote this morning, I truly can't believe I'm saying this. I sound like some kind of conspiracy theorist, but I think at this point the preponderance of evidence is that signature bank was primarily an opportunistic anti crypto hit job. More likely more so than not.

"Last question on this Dave McCormick, one of my comments yesterday flying cross country was billions for the blue bubble boys in Silicon Valley and you don't get the time of day if you're an eastern Ohio or western Pennsylvania on the derailment. Some people thought that wasn't fair, but I believe it's all of a sudden these connected VCs are on the phones of their buddies in D.C.. They get action in 48 hours. We still haven't got the president in east Palestine, and you know that area very well. I mean, you grew up there. You probably are closer to each Palestine than I am. It was 40 miles down the road from Warren, but it's probably less from where you grew up. Yeah. Well, you know, from where I was born, certainly. Yeah, I grew up in a different part of the state, but I grew up around Scranton, but I was born right near there and I've been talking to my Friends at beaver county. Who are most affected by it. And I agree with you a 100% in the following sense. The thing that I discovered on the campaign trail, the thing that I felt more visceral I should say on the campaign, the thing that I think president Trump tapped into in 2016 is that there's this disconnect where the people that are making policy in Washington and the excel a bubble between Washington, New York are completely disconnected and really not particularly focused on or care about the people that are living in mainstream America. And that certainly the case with and these Palestine thing is essentially a good example, not because the president is showing up would have changed the outcome necessarily or even change the policy. It would have been reflective of actually caring and being connected to the people that are most affected by it. And it's the same with fentanyl, it's the same with fracking. It's the same with inflation. It's the same with the open border. These are issues which are being felt by a huge part of America, and that was really the inspiration for the book.

"The thought wouldn't leave me that my unconscious mind had, in fact, latched into something. In the weeks that followed I talked to several friends about what I had seen or thought I saw. Finally, I broached the subject with an FBI agent, I know socially. I expected a good bit of teasing. Instead, he raised an eyebrow and said, you know, it might be worth going forward with your theory. There might be something in it. Otter ideas have cracked colder cases. It is impossible to say with complete precision when they filmed the July 4th crowd arrives sequence, which is where this shot appears, but we know it was almost certainly shot in June, because they filmed all the on island scenes they could early. The water was too cold for swimming and the malfunctioning shark wasn't ready for the at sea material until late July. We also know the lady of the dunes was alive in June, and that the filming of jaws was a big deal locally. Lots of folks turned up to try to get a peek at the stars or the shark to see if they could sneak into a shot. The geography works too. Martha's Vineyard is a short hop from provincetown. It would be no surprise at all if a girl summering on the cape decided to take a few days to explore the vineyard, especially with the added bait of celebrity to draw her in. It may not surprise you to find out, however, that production records of who was hired as extras in movies in the 1970s were not kept. It seems like no records of anything were kept before the mid 1980s. Now, sex offender records, no missing child records, no, what Florida man got himself into this time records. So it stands to reason that no one thought, hey, I wonder if maybe we should keep a record of the hundreds of miscellaneous people we hired to fill out the background in our movies. Even if they weren't hired, you'd think people who were in the shot would have had to at least sign some kind of agreement. If something was signed, it's been lost to time, because no one has been able to track down a list of who was in that scene. If there was a record of who was in the scene in jaws that Joe hill is referring to, they could figure out who that woman was and maybe find her family and be like, hey, have you seen this woman since 1974 and also who is she? Anyway. Retired police chief Warren Tobias isn't so sure. According to a piece about Joe hill's theory Tobias said. Do I think it's her? I don't know. Is there a resemblance? Yeah, I think some, but it was the 70s. I mean hundreds of thousands of young women dressed their way blue jeans and bananas with their hair down. Is it possible? Sure. Is it likely? Probably not. Just the mathematical odds. One would think if she was still alive, the woman from that group scene in jaws would have heard this rumor by now and come forward to say, nope, I'm still alive, I definitely was not murdered on a beach in 1974. Then again, she'd be in her 80s, and no offense to my octogenarian Friends. Huge demographic of mine, and my dad, but people in their 80s aren't the most Internet savvy? Still you'd think someone in her life might have read Joe hill's blog or seeing the feature on it and esquire, or any of the other outlets that covered it and been like, hey, Bobby, this guy thinks you might have been murdered on a beach in 1974. Then again, maybe she wants to be anonymous. Maybe she has heard that rumor and she's like, thank God. Everyone thinks I'm dead now, I can finally get some goddamn piece. It's also possible the lady and the group shot wasn't murdered on a beach in 1974, but has since died. And so hasn't been able to respond to the rumor. Still, again, you'd think someone would have come forward by now and been like,.

We've been saying another thing. We're created sooner created by god we're also created to be in his presence created to worship him were created for his glory. It's awesome in luke. Nineteen forty where it says that will basically in the story. Jesus the disciples and people are worshiping. Christ jesus and and people are like. Why are you doing this. You need to be quiet. And jesus response was to them. I tell you that if these should keep silent even those stones will immediately cry out so if we are silent and we are not calling out to god that god doesn't need us to worship him for our approval by any means but that's what we're created to do is we're created a worship him and so we don't cry out. Yeah it's age are really good at your But that's and that was so that felt so loving. Just have everybody on my side. And then once i let like that fire of anger burned out and it felt supported in. Okay then i was able to like see it. More clearly but Yes so. I guess that just made me think of like. It's really beautiful to allow anger and it can. There's a way that anger can lead to feeling loved. Well that and that's why. I mentioned the love and the story was that we didn't have to address it. Yeah the love i had for. Richard was not feeling like i had to address it in the love yet for it just happened like flapping of the duck wings. I just wanted to know. That's an offensive question. And i think a condescending just let you know how i'm feeling right now and then we moved on and and that took us into It's okay to flap your wings instead of what clearly. We're still railing against the being polite. That christianity is just about being polite it. It also makes me think of remember. We had a friend who Had a conflict with another friend that we have and she called us and our schooled me and i was like. Yeah fucked chip. That's that's so unfair. Like you know just totally siding with her and then leave. Msci told the other friend can you. Can you tell him what you think about this. And which i understand. She had her. She had marry under slight very understandable reasons for doing that. But i was like well. No i was talking shit. I was talking shit to be there for you. Know talking shit works you. Don't tell the person live. we're talking shit about what i said. Yeah you complain. The your friend did this to you. I say fuck that friend. That's like a piece of shed goes up to pay survive and don't tell him beat said you're a piece of shit. Yeah next time you have a fight with this friend. But that's not how this works because the person was receiving it very understandably as like. Wow vallon p really believed this. They think i'm right. And the truth is is like yeah. I can get in touch with a part of me. That totally thinks you're right. There's and so a hundred other parts of me that if you want me to talk to the your friend I could probably find way to side with them. Yeah i guess. That's what i mean is maybe not an exhibit in your case. Now yeah i could see somebody really tearing this argument to shreds. Because i get so. I'm open to this being so wrong but to me. It's like a friend calls you and they're like i'm singing this song and you're like alright. I'll sing the song to and then they're holding you to like so when you said i can't get no satisfaction you you tell them about how you're not satisfied. You're like you're just singing the songs. So i started singing lyrics. Don't matter i'm just trying to make it was just support. Yeah and then. It's a betrayal of that support to go like and then they said europe fucking idiot. I didn't feel edison and now when we go. This is off the record. Do not hold us to talking to a journalist. You can't go and tell the friend that. I said they're super because when i talked to them about you you're stupid so just just know that this is some bullshit to make you feel better because the ultimate truth is everybody stupid. "You and now you're being witness to which is being condescended to by the way and in both of these stories mama i wanted to say and i didn't of course i'm at dinner with richard warm but in that situation do you see the richard is the stand in for the divine presence. You're going. I'm i'm with god. Yes i'm with god. Why is the suffering happening. I'm a dinner with god and something keeps showing up in this hurting me. And you wanna say dad. Richard father god stop it and in both situations not. I didn't really want him to would have been weird in an appropriate. If richard had been like old but it was this like manifestation this materialization of what's going on you can be at dinner with living truth. I'm not saying. Richard is not making richard it into a safety would hate that. I'm just saying even if your in your sweetest safest most ui gooey converted holy space. Sometimes you'll get hurt at that space while you're in that space you go to richard to feel that this is your this is your hookup your connection to the divine and in both of my hookup meals. Something came in sideways and still manage to hurt me. I feel like there's a profound beautiful lesson in that which is spirituality is not avoiding this. Shit this is. This is the ones and twos that spirituality is coated with the one. Is the pain in. The zero is the pleasure. It's both well. it is a very symbolic and clear. Parallel to buddha sitting under the bodey tree and mara coming at him with all kinds of different challenges Jesus in the desert. Or you come to like i mean and the truth is woman. You're you're so brilliant that's just so right. I just want to give that more enthusiasm. Thank you there you are. That's it going for god. Nfl going also there. You are dwelling with god because you actually can't be separated from that's right and there are these tests coming. That are making you doubt that you are one with god that you. It's it's sending live separation to you and it's just making throwing you off and then you have to remember again. And the truth is whether ritchie was at that table or not you are no more or less one with the divine. That's right it has nothing to do with no lasts with the divine when that woman witness to me and made me feel sort of just like a cold clammy lick from my toes to my my head. Just like a weird feeling That's this going. This person thinks i'm going to hell because i was. Maybe she heard me say fuck. We're literally in both of these cases here. Comedian you say fuck. How can you be saying she was saying. How could you be saved the priests were saying. How can you be saved more or less. Yeah well what. They were saying that he keeps coming back. And i have to answer. It's what buddha says they say. So what is the name of the testing. I don't want richard to come in and save me. And i don't need anybody to come and save me because in these moments of seeking the voices of doubt common say. Who are you your filthy. You're ugly you're petty use. Wear your disgusting. And i have to find the part of me. And this is where richard says is the whole point of clergy to point people to the part of them the divine in dwelling that always choose. God always is god. Can't not choose. god can't not be with god that's it and the rest is window dressing. And that's why. I really think that's why richie can enjoy my comedy. Because he understands. I'm lacking some sort of connection and really the wounded child in me is. I'm like i'm at dinner with richard war. I think i'm doing it that you think aclu. I'm having dinner with richard rohr. I would've been so funny to have been the best answer. I just go to dinners with. Richard rohr and that really helps. That helps what i did. Say i can stand by this. I stand by it too just so you know thank you. I actually put my hand on my chest because it her. And i said and and my friend who was at dinner with us said that my other hand was clenched. Like a i would never hit somebody but he said that my body went into like a fighter flight and i but then my other hand circumvented that it was comforting myself and i said pretty calmly. I said i'm sorry. I just want you to know that that's a very triggering question for me. My my whole life. I've had a lot of like christian people ask me. How do you find balance. What i'm really hearing. When do you see your wife which is also what people ask you when you're starting comedy. It's sort of a secular version of that. But when do you see your wife and you want to. I say and he sort of wanna say when do you see your wife fuck you. I said that. But i wasn't saying it to him but i was saying that talent. I'm feeling right now is how do you achieve balance. Fuck you like. Why are we assuming that. I lack balance absolute and i could cry right now. It's just exactly exa- and but to richie is credit. "I love about allen. Watson ramdas and ritchie roar and all of these later teachers. They're all the ones that have not just an allowance for suffering but in inc for suffering a time to just own that you're angry. Have i told the story on the pot. I don't think i have in my book. I tell a story about a comedian. And the last time i went to church and somebody came up to me one of the associate pastors and he said to me. How do you How do you justify being a christian and a comedian. And i really just was so insulted and angry by that question because that's basically wasn't insecurity of mine is supposed to be a good boy. I'm supposed to be a christian. But i really want to be a comedian but it seems. I've become a comedian. Everyone will know really. I'm a porn star. Basically you know what i mean. It's like that's what i. That's what i'm really about so i can't really blend in church anymore. How do you justify. Or how do you reconcile. I think he might have said reconcile. I don't really know. It's definitely one of those stories that in my talk about my own library and having some humility. I wasn't transcribing after it happened. I wrote the story down fifteen years after it happened was what it felt like was in essence impression. Yeah there's an absence for what it was. He he was saying something that really felt like whether or not it's what he literally said. How can you be a christian and the comedian and then he said i was just talking to a friend of yours who wanted to be a comedian. But he just couldn't figure it out and he was talking about a friend of mine named jim who i knew who was very funny and and and jim ultimately decided not to go into comedy because he thought it was. The two didn't go together so not only was he sort of calling me out. It felt but he's also saying like look. There's another way jim turned. He felt the call of the devil and he he went the other way. So that was such an impactful moment for me But because it was such a sensitive spot on me to push like a bruise. So i was already feeling insecure. I'm trying to love god. And i like talking about shit and fuck in and whatever it might be and i'm trying to to have that balance and i think that's okay and i think god or the mystery or whatever is okay with with With dirty dirty art. Or whatever. So then incomes richie and richard rohr is such a beloved friend of mine and i'm so happy that he's in my life and he likes my comedy which means so much to me i actually. He just emailed me and told me that he watched the special of mine. And it just made me so happy so almost like just a perfect call and response the the wound and then the healing. But then i'm with richie and we go to this dinner and this other priest comes to meet us and i don't know this guy and he doesn't know me and richard like a proud fathers. I go pizza. Comedian and the first thing. This guy says is how do you achieve balance in your life as a comedian. And i now that i'm calm and fine i can kinda see..

Sometimes i couldn't agree more now. You now we understand like why every doctor tells you to actors is well it does it did feel like there was a it was like a big dam and there was all this river water that was blocked by the dam and the dam could be made of all those things. There's even some good sides to it but we were talking about like corporations are all had to and that's sort of what's going on here is like so white men for example in particular are being to make room for other voices. Yeah and we're all sort of agreement that that's a value in america like we're trying to propagate idea that's value to good thing to do and we do believe it but like where the real rubber meets the road in this country are real. Gods are real. Idols is the corporation so on one hand. we're like give room to other voices and have compassion and lead from your heart. And then if they make a movie about. Jeff bezos and michael bender plays them. We're going to run to the theaters. Because that's our real like that's our gun to our head really. What do you really value. And you're like someone who's just mowing down fields of money at any cost they can. That's disturbing so what i'm saying is corporations are like other people in our society. But they're huge. They're like gods and those guides don't set a good example. Does that against a hammock. So we're we almost feels like and i don't believe this. It almost feels like small potatoes to be kind. Be gracious but it's like but really if you can get an axe and cut off as many heads as you can And like i know amazon. Has we just talked to somebody about this. There's good things about their business model. I'm not gonna go into that. What i'm saying is it's not as simple as like they're evil but we don't see a lot of corporate Of like it's like we always say nobody's going. Hey we have a billion dollars let's just plateau and be the best company in the world there. Everybody's just like just keep making more money than you did last year. Right which you know is is the definition of psychosis. That's right and it's like unfortunately we've made these models which are very like masculine models and we've all so many of us have become dependent and addicted to consumerism. So we're just buying into these models and now it's like things like Recycling it's like. The plants are to the recycling. Plants are to full. They can't possibly recycle hall event. So even though we still recycle. It's like it's not really about that. It's going to have to be corporations making policies changing plast like not using plastic address. You're like so something like as serious as whether or not we have a planet in thirty years or one. Hundred gods goes to the gods who are like the worst I don't even know what the gods are doing. We talked about this. I believe the number is is three hundred thousand dollars after you had three hundred thousand dollars any more money than that doesn't really make a difference. Yeah it was something like that unless you're living like a really extravagant like rock and roll or hip hop like lifestyle where you wanna pull up in the hummer limo in the white for. Maybe then you're going to be like man. I wish had more than three hundred thousand dollars. Because i just went to dinner last night and i'm broke and isn't that about happiness it's like about how it's three hundred thousand somewhere between three hundred thousand and a million. I definitely think it's less than a million and it's happiness. It is like they have found that after this certain price point you earn a certain income point you know it no longer contributes to your happiness year. It's all just like a wash after that right and and yeah and yet we still have the gods making doing whatever they can with more and more so. It doesn't matter really to them but it makes a big difference to all of the skulls. They're bashing and to make that money right. And then i think it becomes about bashing skulls. That's the new currency that you like is the thrill of being genghis khan. You don't care about gangs khan took over. How much land right. But like you can't live on all that land. It's just an idea at a certain point. You all of those land. Well what does that mean doesn't mean anything. it's just a story. Genghis khan told napoleon. Tell themselves as they're falling asleep they can't live there. There's just one person so that's the same with money so then it just becomes about power. And that's why. Money and power go in your. Somebody was like jeff bezos mix. They broke it down that he makes like something crazy every fifteen minutes or something. He's making more money than whatever than most people make in a year every hour or something and like what i used to say again. Mullany comes up again but we used to joke about. What did the guy in no country for old men anton trigger the bad guy. Why did he want the money. He's getting the money to give it back to the people that they saw from so he can get a cash reward. And what is he doing with it. Going to club med. I would like margarita. Like what does he do like. How did he kill back. Okay well that's why the jokers great burning the money because they don't really care they know that it's just about chaos and anarchy and i think that is what that is about but i don't know what basis is doing. We live a very kush life. It's a very sweet life And so i've seen we've been next to people that have lots of lots of money. I don't know i don't know how you do it at a certain point. You're either eating a nice sandwich. You're you're not but like you can't stuff it with gold. Yeah right right and you just any kind of goes back to some of the people that we thought the resort that we went to that were just so miserable still and and it really is like but the power thing is interesting because that kind of back to parents because why do we want so much power why that such a big part of the human experience and you know it could be evolutionary But it also makes a lot of sense to me that it's like coping with the powerlessness of being child. And if you weren't respected as a child or the people who were in power didn't do a great job and you didn't feel safe like a way that we you know like we've said we're all just like terrified walking around kind of scared children and have our personalities that are protectors in our ways of of coping with that and like for some people. It is to just get as much power as possible wrote. It's like a way of putting on a huge armored yet. You can't hurt me again. Yeah nobody can hurt me again. Yeah which is funny because for all the good game. I i talk sometimes on this podcast. New tack good a good game. Well really is advice from a coward. And i wanna be very clear about. So funny little funny. It's so funny. Just quoting dinsdale. Bibs start we thought we'd do some tis dale up top. I don't i don't know if he'd remember this is a bit but at one time i saw him onstage. Tell a story that he. He was walking out of his apartment. He walked down the street half a block. I think he was like. I need to stop smoking as much pot. Because the other day i left my apartment walked half a block down. The street started sprinting. Back because i thought i left the lighter on. That was so funny. I thought i left the lighter. Fantastic bobby so they did such a funny dude You know this is sort of weird to say but this podcast is wonderful throughout and around like maybe thirty minutes and it gets even better. Yeah so don't give up if you're like what what's going on. I don't know. I think it's great in the first thirty but like it definitely gets better and better and better and better and then it's a real peak. Yeah after an hour like. I don't know what time it was like the last forty minutes or like no really special so yeah. I little tired at the beginning. That might have been it. Not you being tired both just finding it but again it was great. I loved it this. The enjoy has become like us debris. Debriefing how we think because we just did it because he just did it but i really was so tired and sometimes this happens of frequently. I think it's of we do it back here which we almost always do. But i get so tired. And right as you're like revving. Up in life getting kind of manic mannequin going on tears and i think that's when i say yeah a lot. It's like when i'm so tired.
