Let's head over to cap trust and check in with Kelly Brothers. Hey, Kelly. Hello there, Christina. Impossible Foods has launched a chicken substitute. In growth in the U. S restaurants. Excuse me. Grocery stores will be next, so it's going to be in supermarkets By the end of September. It did get regulatory approval. It did have difficulty first getting in the European Union, but then got it. Beyond meat launched their own chicken tenders and restaurants in July. So now impossible foods which if you've had an impossible burger, or you've had impossible pasta, you you know what it tastes like and Is he really your attuned to your taste buds? I your you'd be hard pressed to know the difference in some of these dishes I've had anyway, but so they're coming out with their meatless chicken nuggets. Beginning today, Bitcoin is now legal tender of El Salvador, the first country to make a Cryptocurrency legal tender in that country, and there's a number of reasons for it. First of all, the U. S dollar will remain legal tender as well. But they want to cut down on transaction fees coming back into the country because 25% of their economy is based on Remittances that's money coming from El Salvadorans who have left and gone elsewhere and are working and sending money back into the country. And, uh, next time we'll talk about QR codes and how they are here to stay for a while. Let's check the real time numbers because we are starting off, lower down down to 53 35,001 15. NASDAQ Down two points the S and P Down 17 or about 4 10 to 1% love. This has to do with the Delta variant and how it may impact in a negative way. The growth in the economy gold down 31 this morning sitting just above $1800 an ounce Oils down 1% 10 year bond yield 1.37. Alright, Kelly. Thank you so much. We'll hear from Kelly again in about 30 minutes or so a new headline emerging On something that Larry Elder actually said during a podcast in July While speaking with conservative pundit Candace owns on her show, Elder said that one could make the case that slave owners should get reparations. Here's the clip. By the way, when you mentioned that the UK was ahead of us, they were do you know that the slave owners were compensated? After they lost their quote unquote property. The government compensated slave owners didn't know. Yeah, And so when people talk about reparations, they really want to have that conversation because, like it or not, slavery was legal. And so their property. Their legal property was taken away from them after the after the civil war, So you can make an argument that the people that are old reparations not only just black people, but also the people whose quote property close quote was taken away after after the end of the civil war, Okay, that is not a clip. If you're Larry Elder that you want floating around its controversial take you bet you bet it is. And it's one of those things were here. We are one week left in the campaign. And guess what's us resurfacing all over? Oh, yeah, well, I mean, both sides are like trying to find stuff. Each other, Molina Abdullah. Familiar with that name professor at California State University. Los Angeles over the weekend was campaigning with than for governor, Newsom said, And we quote Larry Elder is a black face on white supremacy. That's a controversial take, too. And that was actually a headline. That was in an opinion piece in the Los Angeles Times, which we talked about about three weeks ago in the program. Now on the other side with Governor Newsom out there this weekend brought in as we heard a little bit earlier from Gianni de Agostini, Senator Elizabeth Warren, Democrat from Massachusetts, and the theme that they're pounding home is this is all about the re called Donald Trump, Right? Yeah, that Trumpism Trump is, if not trump Trumpism, so they're fighting the Boogeyman, which you know, is a popular Theme with Democrats. It might very well work here. Popular target. Oh, absolutely. I mean, because Trump is wildly unpopular. Well, the last two polls showed the governor surviving this right? Yes. Uh, yes. I have seen to recent polls this morning that are out and they take all the recent polling and put them together. And without a doubt, Newsom has opened up a lead and a pretty significant one. Not maybe one that can't be. Oh, it could be overcome. Possibly. Kamala Harris is going to be here tomorrow. I believe tomorrow. She was supposed to come last week didn't show up and then like went underground into hiding. She's like my A. I mean, we have not seen her heard her Nothing noth them. So we will in California starting tomorrow, apparently curious to see if there will be any press availability and if anyone will ask her either about the border Or Afghanistan. No, that's going to be the story how they handle her. I mean, because her you talk about tanking poll numbers. I'm assuming there will be no questions, but you never know you. Never. Maybe she'll take some, okay? Let's see. Taking a look at the rundown here. We're going to talk a little bit about Covid jobless benefits are going away. Yes, And there's really not much hope for people who are hoping that those big fat unemployment checks are going to be in the mail. Right future. Well, the the hashtag get a job. Trending today. Western Heat Wave Virtually Impossible Without Climate Change, Researchers Say
"When we had our record heat a few days ago, I turned to our friend Cliff, Mass. University of Washington, professor of Atmospheric Science and Cliff told us that if global warming played any role, it was minimal because temperatures have gone up about one degree over 70 years. These were temperatures 40 45 degrees. Above normal. So if anything, climate change contributed to about one degree out of this record, heat will imagine my shock surprise and I When I saw the Seattle Times a couple days ago, and their headline read without climate change record Pacific Northwest Heat wave would have been near impossible, researchers say. So I don't know who to believe. Sound times or Cliff Mass. I doubt if the Times will come on with me. So I got Cliff Mass on to talk about this. Good afternoon, sir. Good afternoon. Okay, so the cell times is directly contradicts because two days Prior to their story on the cliff, Mass Weather blog. You asked if global warming was the cause of the great heat wave and you said Science says no. So here you're telling us no sometimes is telling us? Yes. What are we to make of all this? Well, you know, you've got to look for where The Seattle Times got this information. Basically, a group of people got together and put together very rapidly. This report over a few days. And it's basically a political report. And in fact, it gives all kinds of advice about global warming. But people must do. But if you read the report itself, which I didn't detail its base, it's essentially flawed. And in fact It's not even consistent internally. Um, the headline says, Oh, this thing could never have happened without global warming. Then you read inside the report you say they say, Well, it could have happened, but by by random chance it could have happened by natural processes.

We were just talking a little bit about getting that deck and shape and those what this lady had always makes me very frustrated. Um, she had a redwood stain and mistakenly bought a redwood paint. Now you can tell the difference between pain and a stain. And, Yeah, You know, I get the question like, Can I just paint this? You can just pain anything, but if it's the wrong product. You're going to have problems, which she should have used as a semi transparent rub wood stain, or if she wanted something that looked like a pain, it would be a solid color stain. Which you would look more like redwood paint. All right. You got the phone number. You can grab a line. We're going to get back to the phones here. We got George George, welcome. Hi. Yes, sir. Have a bathroom terrain that as long as the water level Does not block the airflow from coming out of the drain. It runs just fine. There's a lot of volume, but as soon as the water blocks the air It disclosed down to Turkle. Mm. Well, the good analogy that is George's. If you take a gallon gas can And that vent plug is in the top of the can. And you pour the gas into the lawn. More just kind of blur. Blur blerp. It doesn't really poor. You open up that vent and there's a nice good stream going right in that lawn. More same thing with Your issue if it can't get air. The whole gravity thing doesn't work, so it's not going to allow it to drain properly. So what I would do is I would you know, Clean that out? How is it before the water gets up there? I mean, is it flowed pretty good. Yes, it does. And it's the only bring in the house that does that. Well, I I don't know why that would be the case, but, um so so OK? Yeah, an old adage. Well, then, don't do that. Then. Don't do that, right? Um, you know, I I don't know why it's um you might want to clean that out. Um, if you take a little bit of like a dishwasher liquid And put it down in there and let it sit or there's a product. Called drain, Bo. Which is an enzyme you could pour that into that little hole. Just let sit overnight. And maybe there's something that's just kind of restricting it. When that water gets up, it's totally restricted. Okay, so it's got nothing to do with the stack. Well, if it's no, I mean, I'm thinking it's just that little overflow hole that's causing your problem If it had something to do with the stack. Um, I'm not gonna sit here until he is not going to have any and do with the stack. But usually what happens. As it affects more than just a vanity. And once it's affected once that won't drain, usually like in the bathtub or another vanity In that same room, you'll hear it sucking air. Through the other trap. Okay. I've not seen any kind of event. In that role. No year van. There's no hole right up at the top. No, there isn't Is there a air gap connector off the drain pipe underneath the cabinet. Maybe he's like getting itchy inch in diameter, maybe two or three inches high. Nope. Nope. And I thought you said once the water covered the whole Well, the brain where the drain plug is Oh, so it's just a slow running. Trapper drain, then. At that point, Yes, All right. We'll do this. I don't think your problems are going to be that complicated. Um, there's a a little clean out for drains. Bathroom drains. You won't even have to take the plug apart. All right? Uh huh. And it's called. It's about three ft. Long. And it's called a zip it And it's plastic about is why does the pencil and it's got little barb sticking out of it? You just feed one of those? Yeah, feed that down between the plug in the drain. Shake it around. Pull it out. Go the other side shaking around, Pull it out. I'm going to bet your hot fudge sundae. You pull up some hair, some gunk and it'll start draining. All right. Well, thank you for the help Give that try. George. That's never failed me. Alrighty. Alright. Good day. You too. Take care. Bye bye. Yeah, I mean, everything we use in a vanity more is a gel. Hair gel. Toothpaste is gel shaving cream is gel. I mean, everything is a gel, jealous, sticky liquids, the the pump soap that's kind of a gel. And it gets stickin. It just starts accumulating. Dead skin. All kinds of gunk. I'll bet you I take care of it. Like right now. Fun stuff. Yeah, we'll take care of it. Like right now, Uh, Dan, welcome. Hey, Gary. How you doing? Doing Great. How about you? Good, Good. Um, got a problem are church had a new metal door last year installed to the outside, and it's white. And we want to paint that this year and we're painting it Gray okay along the edges and it the the corners at the top like the 45 degrees. "W T o p right now. 45 in Farragut Square. And it Rosalyn 47 Laurel 45 degrees here in northwest Washington as we get into the fifties today, it's 11 11. Since it happened. We've been learning that the storming of the U. S Capitol last week. Was not entirely spontaneous. In fact, in some circles, it was a long time coming. Those who adhere to the Cuban on conspiracy theories have been growing in number to the point that some have even been elected to Congress. Joining us live as we take a closer look at this is Washington Post political reporter Isaac Stanley Becker. Isaac. Good to have you with us. Can you give us a sense of how long something like what happened last week at the capital has been talked about among those who follow these conspiracy theories. Thanks for having me that that time in question is a really good one, and it's somewhat hard to answer. Certainly we saw toward the end of last year. Some of the chatter about you no specific plans and events and the targeting of this day when they were going to be certifying the The wind by Joe Biden. But you know, you could even argue that it goes back much, much further, even years back toward the beginning of this cure non conspiracy theory. When there was this anticipation of some type of, you know, final final Storm, as they say in which in which people would rise up they would retake the government and Trump's enemies will be vanquished. This is the fanciful and diluted idea. That some people believe in and this is really what we saw It come to life in the capital last week, and so you could say, in fact that it goes back several years and Isaac as we move ahead here toward the inauguration next week. What are law enforcement Bracing for at this point? Is there more involvement planned? We've seen really start warnings from law enforcement, federal state local officials about possible violence and turmoil over the next set of days, and we've already seen stepped up presence in Washington and across the country in particular its state capitals. I think there's a lot of fear about Events planned for this weekend and then certainly going into Tuesday and then inauguration day itself. So it's hard to say well actually transpire and certainly some of the some of the crackdown and Intensified efforts may hopefully avert some of this, but we certainly saw that it wasn't able to stop what happened last week. We seeing enough from both political parties to push back against these conspiracy theories. We've seen. We're within the Republican Party. There really has been a failure to reckon with the inroads that this conspiracy theory has made into its rank and file and not just its reconciled. But in two members who've been elected to Congress, Marjorie Taylor Greene and born Robert and others have retweeted it slogans and participated and activities. You know adjacent to this And so there have been members on the edges, particularly those retiring who've been willing to denounce this and say it's crazy, but I would not say that the party has had a store. Oh, And full on reckoning with what this means and why this has been incubated in their in their party. Is a great to have you Thank you for breaking this down for us. We appreciate it.
