"Here's Brian Deed. The dude is superhuman young dysentery. Gumpel avoids major injury. All ligaments in his injured left knee are intact. He is listed as doubtful for tonight's Game five with a hyper extension of that need. That does leave some hope, though, that he could be able to return. At some point in this series. Here is box reporter Eric name of the athletic. It's probably pretty unlikely that he's going to be able to play. But I do think there is hope in some circles that this dude is super human. And he will find a way like if you grab a game and give him a chance at Game seven, which is, you know, five days away all the sudden that becomes possible that being said to get to a game seven bucks will have to win without him head coach Mike Budenholzer. Home court advantage is going to be key, and I think the crowd being at home and having the energy and the excitement and you know the way our crowd gets into it the way they support us. I think the way they're going to be behind us. You know, Um it's going to be helpful. You know, we're excited to be coming home for a game five and getting the crowd into it. The first two batters Peralta faces. He issues a walk and then gives up a home run. It's two nothing before much of the crowd is through the turnstiles. The Cubs never touch them again in six innings, you gotta got locked in and started making pitches started kind of getting some just some lazy fly ball outs and some early outs. So you know after the first two innings, you didn't think I didn't think six innings was going to be in the cards, but he was really sharp after Andrew Craig count So Peralta gives up. The two runs on two hits with eight strikeouts in four walks at American Family Field, Matt Paulie Wtmj sports same two teams back at it again tonight You can hear the game on our sister station, 94 5, ESPN. And finally in football. Aaron Rodgers has a decision to make. He could potentially opt out of the 2021 NFL season for health and safety reasons. If he does do that, he would keep about 20 million bucks in his pocket. The decision would be permanent, though, and he'd have to make it by this Friday. Packers reporter Jason Will he does not see him making that move. I don't think anybody thinks that someone who even with his unhappiness with the organization Still cares about his legacy and still cares about his teammates that he would actually do something so diabolical and quite frankly dishonest. It's stuff that I just wasn't aware of. They have a section on UFOs and aliens, right? Yeah. And 1940 Churchill's secret, it says here. Finnish Prime Minister Winston Churchill was celebrated for his defiant leadership in the face of Nazi Germany's overwhelming military might at the start of World War two. He was less known, however, for his interest in alien visitors. Churchill wrote essays about the possibilities of life on other planets and was fascinated by reports of UFO sightings. According to Secret Files declassified in 2010. Churchill once ordered that a reported encounter between a British bomber and a UFO be kept classified. Because news of et visitors would create mass panic among the general populace did not know that I did not know that either. It's the last person I would have suspected. Who would have been that interest, But hey, Fascinating stuff and just talking about the 103rd floor of the Empire State Building. You got 102. And you could look out there that you know you can pay to go up there and look out, but they're not available for the actual top deck. Which is the 103rd floor. The terrorists of this world famous landmark was controversial from the start. 1929, the group of Wrecking the Tower, said that the 103 4 would serve as a docking place for airships. Coming in the dirigibles. Really? Yeah. So I just Some people thought that the plan was just an excuse to make the skyscraper taller than the Chrysler Building. Which why not, you know, because I went to Chicago and went in the Sears Tower, which is also very, very tall building is a tall building and, you know, going in there, You know, people always want to go to the top floor that was going to see the top because you know how high it stop. Nobody ever wants to see the second highest floor, which is the second highest floor in the world, by the way. Nobody ever cares about it, though. Nobody who cares who comes in second, right? Right. It's just the first loser. Okay, So here's the thing I almost went to the Sears Tower. Yeah. Yeah, we went into the building. We went on up and we looked out and then Wow, This is really interesting. And then we found out we were not in the Sears Tower. We were in the tower across the street s o way. Didn't even bother at that point going up in this year's Starfire. That tour guide. Yeah, well, it's just Well, it's just the way it goes, You know, just to two college guys out there looking for looking for some sites, and we didn't look someone read the map wrong. I didn't read the front of the building is this must be it. It's a tall building. Let's go up here. Sure. Why not? What about what about that big one that says Sears out front? Not not trust me. LeBron becomes all-time leader in playoff wins

"If you remember back to Sunday, Game two of the Western Conference finals. Lakers gave up 41 points in the third quarter before they were able to clamp down defensively, allowing the Rockets to score just 17 in that fourth quarter. Get on Tuesday. It would be a strong fourth quarter. That proves to be the difference for Ella. LeBron James wind up having a huge first half 29 points, but the Lakers were actually trailing at the break. L. A would hold the Rockets to just 18 points in the third. Turning things up defensively, one of the best defensive teams all year that turned it up the Rockets to 22% shooting in the second half. There's another turnover. Anthony Davis, with the steal handed back to Gordon, Front left drives past LeBron layup blocked by James from behind LeBron James with a great block. Gordon thought he was buying me ran down from the back. Another block for James on a runner by harden LeBron James, with two monster blocks 54 Covington to Rivers Wing left us with a rim up on underway Blood by James and the stick that won't count. It comes after the red light was lit. And LeBron with three monster blocks in the corner. We're tied going before the difference in this one. It was a 64 point first half With rockets. Scored 33 points in the first quarter. 31 in the second But just 38 points total. In the second half of the Lakers. Clamping down on defense would also Their foot on the accelerator on offense. Morris swinging Rondo opened three Ling right, Got another one playoff. Rondo is here tonight in Game three. Four point lead for the Los Angeles Lakers. That's 12 points. Ferrando as a timeout is called by Mike D'Antoni governs and threw it away. Trying to find a friend on the left sideline. Rondo working right side before with Davis. Hi, Lobb. Davis caught way right off the jab. Step shoots for two and dropped it in 26 15 for Anthony Davis early, but it's a dagger a little bag. Now, with a minute to play Rondo around the angle Street left side of the room past the diving Kuzma catches and lays it in over the front iron and the Rockets have a look to him that they know they're probably done with under a minute to play, and the short answer would be Yes, The rockets were done at that point. The game was here on ESPN radio Lakers would close it out when it by 10 1 12 102 Lakers taking a 21 Siri's lead Lakers out of 21 to 8. Run. To start the fourth quarter after as we heard, the game was tied heading to the fourth LeBron James 162nd career playoff victory. That's the most all time he spoke with TNT, do what it takes to win both the defense and I know I say that a lot, but it was just the truth. My teammates looks for me to do a little bit of everything, and tonight was another opportunity for me to help and I was happy. I was able to come through for us tonight. LeBron at another milestone to your resume, passing Derek Fisher becoming the NBA's all time leader in a playoff wins. I know you have said time and time again, you'll reflect on those milestones later. To play at the level you're playing at and achieve that milestone in your 17. What does that say about what we're trying to accomplish? It says that I played with a lot of great teams says that I played a lot of great teammates made some great coaches in Cleveland in Miami and now here in Los Angeles, you don't get those wins without teammates so on the coaching staff prepares and do all the preparation Behind the scenes video coordinators. The guys will help rebound the basketballs force assistant coaches that trainers the athletic staff on its own. So it doesn't happen without the support of castes. And it's why I'm able to stay here with this achievement. But it's all about the three organizations. I've been with calves, the heat and not the Lakers. Because without them, I wouldn't be in this position. Speaking of the way you're supporting cast played tonight. Defensively, particularly in that second half. What did you guys find that allowed you to lock into Rockets offense. We know in the first half going into halftime that we didn't play our best. Defensively. We allowed him to get into the lane. Without contest. We allowed him to hit some threes. What I'll contest are rotations was slow. So when we went to the locker room, we watch some film. And we had conversation right away on what we can do in the second half to get better and be better, and we was able to transfer it into the second round. Last thing I'll ask you about. I know Coach Vogel keeps on telling us That he was going to use the memory of Kobe Bryant to fuel this playoff run and continue to talk to the team about it. How have you channeled that to motivate you through this run through the postseason in this most unique environment? Then today, we just so we make him and his family proud, and that's all it's about anybody's ever step foot and put on the Lakers jersey we hoped would make them proud as well. From Kobe all the way down to everybody's ever played in Los Angeles have been a part of Los Angeles Lakers organization. That's what we're trying to do. It means the tradition here and it's our responsibility when loser draw toe hold out without most responsibility and utmost respect, and, you know, doctor Dr Buss will want as well. Loser draw. This one turned out to be a win for the Lakers by 10. They take a 21 Siri's lead, LeBron finishing with 36 points, 29 of which came in the first half. You heard him touch on the defensive adjustments that the Lakers made at halftime. As well. Then they came out and turned up the intensity on the defensive end Lakers finishing with six blocks Houston had one came from Russell Westbrook late in the game,

"Nine and a half left hi there's not much even say the like you said this is a gene that we shouldn't be we lost twice and it's these ties the game day good shooters in the flight home down the stretch for the playoffs man I I think we still might make the playoffs but we're gonna have to seal the deal for about fourteen but you gotta give Atlanta credit Menteri Yang is just ridiculous that act he has no soul when it comes to jacking up three pointers in you know one of the things I think about it some Pakse last season if I remember correctly that the league has not gotten to a point where whoever makes more three pointers it's gonna end up winning the quality and we saw that the night because it Lana had eleven more threes than we did in the entire ball game but that fourth quarter stretch really hurt us and then I didn't see that call on LA with one or not we with one oh nine laugh so I'm not sure what how questionable out was I believe what you say because you're in and out every night with the guys played at some point and we got to buckle down and placed on the plate and demarre an LA airplane really great the March had a great stretch over the last ten to fifteen games but still this should have been eighteen coming in well under five hundred that we should have he and one in one of the things I think that that I noticed is we respect somebody's teams but then we carry a lackadaisical Georgina the ball game we have a big stretch and if you look we might just take time often you know shop over the ball not paying attention to the shot clock down the stretch hers tonight in Seoul some guys got to give it some point because we have the right you're right you're coming out in a couple weeks and that typically determines where we stayed so I mean which got waited on C. for us this season to see how does not great call you made a lot of great points you're right they hit eleven more three point shots than we did in in they shot a heck of a lot better percentage than we did Atlanta was nineteen oh forty from three point country that's forty seven point five percent spurs only shot twenty seven point six percent they hit eight out of twenty nine but they got eleven more three point shots than the spurs that means they got thirty three more points from three point land then the spurs did you can also mention tray young this is a guy only in his second year name any superstar in this league lebron James Kawhi Leonard Steph curry Kevin Durant tray young is going to be in that category Trey young is the real deal are you still should be this team that was for an eighteen on the road coming in spurs lose to the Atlanta Hawks on a late three point shot one twenty one to one twenty back to the phone lines and Jeff Jeff you're on spurs radio on twelve hundred W. away I go ahead Jeff yeah I was at the game tonight and I have a couple comments it was very disappointing first of all but you know the spurs got it into gear in the second half in the queue for them is the is the stop that team for making some shots and they did that's what got him back in the game you know all those guys that I saw play tonight on the spurs like I could criticize any of them I thought they played very hard you know it it's unfortunate though that at the very end of the game that the refs called the game I saw that I was there you know you're in the last minute of the game and you caught the markets is trying to set up a call file I would like to see the game finish I would like to see this first go through with that final possession and if they mess that than that let that Elena comes back get the chance to make a three but that never happened the rest of us saw the bat and it's got to the point in the NBA I love the spurs and I like all the players even in this bad you're having but it's got the point where the NBA's console horrible how the call the games you can't they can't play defense you cannot touch a guy on a three point they can lean into here and get their shots it's gotten to be very enjoyable in that regard thanks for the call thanks for going out to the game tonight at the A. T. and T. center and supporting the spurs by the way when that questionable call they said lamarcus threw an elbow and I just saw him working for offense of position I will go back and I saw what I saw it twice on the TV replay here in the radio studio we have the TV feed in here from ten to five but there was one oh nine left and the spurs were up by four one twenty to one sixteen if you don't call that on lamarcus either the spurs go up one twenty two to one sixteen and by the way they lost one twenty one to one twenty so that one twenty two would have been big or you know they want to hold on to the ball a little bit longer before Atlanta got the ball that was a huge moment in the game but again you blow fourteen point lead with nine thirty one to play you kind of you kind of get what you have coming to you by allowing Atlanta back in this game back to the phone line spurs lose one twenty one to one twenty to the Atlanta Hawks let's go to Bob Bob you're on spurs react on twelve hundred W. away I welcome Bob Hey thanks are also a good game very disappointing the last caller by the way was great here's my question do they ever track how the referee who are the referees to call the files that one guy I don't know he's attacked the oldest guy on the floor for the wraps he's going to call every fell against the spurs and I just wonder just curious if they actually track which referees call the most files to that guy like cold everything on the spurs including the last couple files so just curious if you have any idea about that Bob I I don't know so I know I know there are some stance organizations and thank you for the call there some stats organizations that track that I'm sure every team with analytics today I I mean that this is a multi million dollar industry the NBA soul I'm I'm quite confident that each team tracks analytics and teams know there are certain referees that you know when you see and you guys can be a tougher night because this is a tough for referee on this team in it it's it's sad that that is the case and I agree with you that maybe that's something the NBA should look into because I I could make the argument you know the late in the game that call again for Marcus L. A. let's let's look in general it was look at free throws yeah and fell because it was pretty even spurs went to the free throw line twenty three times the hawks went to the free throw line twenty seven times they went for more times than we did usually a home team goes a little more frequently spurs were actually even better at the free throw line we were twenty two out of twenty three they were twenty out of twenty seven so what we got one more point at the free throw line because we shot the.

"But it's up to you to leave it in a better place for the players that come behind you, and what are the advantages that the NBA has over the NFL is it's global appeal based on the number of players that represent different countries. Unlike in the NFL, and in order to continue to grow the sport that's going to be popularity, but it's also to be personality driven. And so these guys are really engaged in when they choose to be and also everybody's happy. Guess win. Their squad is winning or people are saying amazing things about this. There's so many times I can speak into a microphone and say one hundred positive things about somebody. But the one time I'm critical of them. I'm hating or they feel like they wanna clap back. That's the culture Steve Kerr talking about. And it is really dangerous for the league. And what this dangerous from my job in particular is if you're a member of the media, we're not the only outlet for them to showcase their personality. You could follow Russ Russ. Russell Westbrook on social do. You know what he's not doing keeping short answers not smiling? Now, you can see their actual personalities when they can circumvent the media. So it's almost like, hey, man. If you want to get to know who I am you wanna get to know me as a person you want to feel connected with me personally. You can follow me on social you get a real connection with me without the conduit of somebody taking my words, and then writing about them and filling their own in opinions and analysis in between my quotes, that's really interesting the way that we're in now that also that deepens the connection more than anything the media could ever do for. You is having that personal one on one connection through your own social page, and I also feel NBA players in particular are doing a really good job taking band of that of that take advantage of that authentically. That's well said, but however, you took the me approach as it relates to growing your social following. And your brand I'm talking about the we approach to continue into grow the league. And there's a balance there. Everybody must remember the dollars you make the popularity you have it ain't because of how you dress enable. Because of how you look is. You're really good at basketball player in the NBA and that can get lost in this dynamic. Well, Jalen rose. I have great news. It happened. Again. The pistons won the pistons won the pistons. It can do a euro step either way lead in good point goal. Over the top of you and bang out. And he still has the confidence to shoot jump shots, and he actually made a three. So as his office of game continues to evolve he becomes more of an unstoppable force in the league. You really does. I think a lot of people like, oh, it doesn't have a jump shot. Just back off of them say I don't know if you want him to gain that momentum those long strides long arms, you see he just went up against Andre Drummond under Jones seven foot one with long arms.
