"For a while, like something from a sci fi movie, but extreme conditions calls for extreme measures at the Chinese authorities often say There was a real sense of mobilizing every part every large building in Beijing that could be used even if it was a King Dynasty courtyard who is being used for the mass testing. I'm John King and the director for one of China's largest educational service provider. Like many of us in big cities, Zhang had to look for alternatives to commuting when the pandemic was at its height for the first month. I just avoided taking the public transportation and he listed the help. Of his father in law, and he wrote the tricycle. Yeah, So me sitting in the back of the tricycle and my in those in his seventies drove that tricycle to my office. At around five or six p.m. y about to leave office and he was waiting for me. There is about 40 minutes. One way so 30 or 40 minutes. One way the return trip now and a half every day. Another thing we've had to get used to is scanning our mobile phones all the time in order to register a Q R code to confirm you haven't tested positive for the virus or been to any high risk places. I'm ready to be confident in China because the government's really take a very strict measures. But of course during the same time, I feel also about your privacy because you'll travel history. You were about all widely exposed to the government. I think I'm very concerned about that as well. While I applaud what the Chinese government is doing in tackling the spread of the virus, the price that they pay the interference of your day to day life is an issue of concern, of course. We've driven out of the city centre of Beijing and now we are actually in the very large.

"Real reform, which is important. On the other hand, the unintended consequences were that the services were not There were not paid for were not financed. So we have now housing crisis. What people pay for housing is often 40 50 60% of their budget if they have a budget, so I do think that Smart policing would mean focusing on violent crimes. Progressive ideas will tell you that smart police will tell you that so that there's less That the drug issues are diverted to, for example, drug courts, um and not intermingled with violent crimes which demand more attention. And you know, even by the way, there is a transport Izen. Play on this. The Coke brothers, as some of your listeners may know, have been allied with criminal justice reformers. They may have different principles, they may want to cut the budgets of prisons. They may want to, you know, save some of their own from white color crime issues, But it is a point of unity around the drug issue around criminal justice that there is something to work with their. I think Trump even moved to first step program inadequate but still a step. So I think it would be a mistake at this time to go back to what I think it's a failed playbook. Where we've had prisons and jails clogged with those who don't necessarily need to be there. Certainly jails. Um, but you know, Eric Adams will be a point. Mexico to Hold Referendum on Accountability of Ex-Presidents

"Ballots this weekend in their first ever national referendum. But as James Fredrick reports from Mexico City, it's not clear what or even if the balloting will mean anything. Mexican President Andres Manuel Lopez Obrador has framed the referendum as an opportunity for citizens to vote yes or no for his administration to investigate and possibly prosecute former presidents. One ad shows mug shot style photos of the ex presidents and says Vote yes for justice. But after Supreme Court revisions, the ballots no longer mentioned former presidents and instead ask about quote actions to shed light on past political decisions. This vagueness likely gives the president the final word on what the referendum actually means. But it may not matter. The referendum is only valid of 40% of registered voters submit a ballot. Election watchers say that will be a tough mark to hit for NPR news. I'm James

Caller Wonders About Networking Conservative DAs to Be Harder on Crime

"To try to find a way to rally D A s. That are pro conservative. And institute a network type of agreement, um, of all of them that they will not go for a minimum sentence. To start out with on people that are up for crimes. Now there's a lot of reasons like why they're not going to do this number one They don't have enough personnel. And so they try and plead what the way he used to work to try and plead the minor cases, you know, like jaywalking or tickets or stuff like that. In order to focus on the on the heavier in tougher cases. If they were to try every case, Um Then you would have 99% of the cases would never get into court. And that's a fact. Because of the level of crime that goes on and the level of crime that is that is created that has nothing to do with property or the or personal injury and so forth. They have to handle all of it. That's number one number two. They're not going to agree with another D A Because every community is different than most of these days are elected. And so you won't find a network of D A is like the A. D A in, uh In Cape Girardeau, Missouri, agreeing with the D a in, uh Just pick another another town in Frederick, Maryland, because they really have nothing in common and they have to answer to their own localities. This is not complicated. It's not about a network of agreements and so forth, and so on. It's about enforcing the law. It's about getting judges who are going to comply with the law. It's about putting bad people in prison. We did it 30 years ago, 40 years ago under Reagan And the crime levels went down, but we had a Kabbalah of Radical libertarians. Um, these phony civil rights groups. Activist groups and so forth, and so on. That all got together and say We are a decriminalized legalized on and on and on. And so this is this is more to do with the nature of what's happened to our culture.

"I want to give you a little bit of an update on the status of the Lexi ecosystem. If you will, as you know it was recently a l e x a live. And as I mentioned previously in the flash briefing, I'm going to kind of do a deep dive into all the different things that were discussed and one of those is an update on all the different stats that Amazon put up with regards to Lexi and the way it goes. So, here we go. I'm going to run through some of the key stats for you. So currently, there are hundreds of millions of Lexi enabled devices out there and customers. That means you and I spoke with, with Lexy billions of times every week. There are now more than 900,000 developers, that are there that are registered developers, and there are more than a hundred thirty thousand off these skills. There are hundreds of built-in products. There are currently more than 140000 Smart Home Products that can be controlled with Lexi, customers have connected more than a hundred years. I'm more than a hundred million smart home devices to Lexi and they're continuing to connect and millions of new devices. Everyone, these numbers are staggering. That's why I'm kind of laughing here. The numbers off of customers that are engaging with skills is growing at 40% year-over-year and some of the strongest categories are music audio games. So it's interesting. I think that I'm engaging more and more with skills. And do you know, if you are to, I'll give you two more little stats here before I sign off today, Lexi's helping to generate billions of dollars for the developers and the device maker community. So it's has a big economic impact as well and the developer revenue from in skilled, purchasing has more than doubled year-over-year. Now, if you're not sure what in skilled purchasing is that wouldn't totally surprise me because it has not been available in Canada until now.

Pastor John Hagee Remembers the Time Rabbi Arnold Scheinberg Came to Him

"You were telling us about this gentleman who came into your office. Rabbi Arnold Sheinberg was his name. Uh, I had never met him. He is a rabbi from New York came to San Antonio. And he walked into my office with a beautiful optimistic approach, uh, to his fellow man and his deep and abiding passion for the Torah that made him an individual that you could not help But love over 40 years ago, rabbi made An exceptionally courageous decision to encourage the Jewish community of San Antonio to extend trust to a gentile Christian pastor desiring to support Israel. While the rest of the communities was concerned without rabbi there would never have been a night to honor Israel. And that night, two on original lead to a second, and they began to spread across America and the year 2000 and six when I'm within a job started talking about Uh, Israel being a one bomb nation. I told the rabbi we need to form a national organization of Christians in every state and every city by voters own And we are going to create a national organization that has the strength to help Israel and the Jewish people, he said. Immediately. We can do this without Rabbi, they would never have been a night gonna raise real the first time in 1981. Neither would there have been a Christians united for Israel that happened started in 2000 and six and the and the landscape of the modern relationship in Christians and Jews in America would never have been transformed. "Guess this is this is partly personal. But I have a feeling that I'm not the only one who is interested in this story. So I'll share it with my fellow fans of rock music. And especially back when I was really, you know, getting into it back in the seventies. And I've been I've been a radio listener as a kid from Cali. I can't remember 56 years old, uh, listen to a lot of great music of big fan of top 40 radio back in the late sixties. The Motown sound. Then, as we got in the early seventies, I got my little transistor radio and got into more of the Beatles. The Eagles as they came on in the mid late seventies, especially but also, uh, Kearney and wings and triumph and yellow yellow was probably one of my favorites. But this band also held the spot. The band's Kansas. You probably remember this song dust in the wind, Give a listen to this violent solar. Really quick man who did that Robby Steinhardt. The original violinist for Kansas, Also, a co lead vocalists actually sings Believe vocal on this song as well. Backup vocal Well, we lost Robbie over the weekend, he died from acute pancreatitis. The founding member of the band and a rarity. I mean, a violin player in a rock band. How did that all come about? My parents asked me to play the violin, I guess made me play as of island would be more accurate. I was the first chair in my high school orchestra. My junior high school orchestra in my grade school orchestra. Remember when Philly heart call me and he said, I heard you play and I wanted to find out if you wanted to get together and form a band. I remember being in Lawrence, Kansas and seeing him playing and singing, and I just thought that is a guy that I need to be in a band with. I've never seen anybody else like that guy. I've never heard anybody play like that guy and I've never heard anybody sing that way, Robbie said. Do you guys have a tape? So I sent him a reel to reel and he called back. He said. Awesome. I'm in that piece Audio from the documentary Kansas Miracles out of nowhere. Robby Steinhardt was unusual. He played the violin. Yeah, we have fiddle players. But this guy was a true classical violin player in a rock band and just totally helped to, you know to to forge a new sound, of course. As we mentioned dust in the wind, but carry on my wayward son, another favorite of theirs that I love playing the game tonight like that one as well point of no return. So the list goes on and on just some great music. Romney Robby Steinhardt dead at the age of 71 from pancreatitis, So it's a little sad news there for you, and I'm like I say, partly personal. Statins May Significantly Reduce Risk of Death From COVID-19

"Drug and they're saying now that this is reducing the risk of covid death by 40%, according to the study. That's some good news, right? The most common cholesterol lowering drugs may improve hospitalized covid 19 patients chances of survival and reduce their risk progressing to more severe and more severe disease. According to this new study, an analysis of more than 10,000 people admitted to more than 140 hospitals across the nation found that a class of medications called statins. Together with blood pressure drugs reduced in hospital Covid 19 death by 40% among those who took them prior to being admitted. And the reduced risk of death was slightly higher for those taking statins alone at 46%, compared to people taking high blood pressure medication alone. 27% Same held true for Covid 19 patients. And their odds of severe disease. Those only taking statins benefited from a 25% lower risk of developing severe disease. Those taking blood pressure meds had 11% lower arrest. So I guess when you combine the two you come up with 40%. So the studies applied primarily to those with high cholesterol, high blood pressure, mostly because people with such health conditions are more likely to take the medications to help treat them.

"It is tough for me. It certainly not switch your career path. Because i feel like they're on like a decent enough track. It's it's really a question of getting better at some key spots as well as that clean did hugh jackson nocco was just marvin lewis. I think hugh jackson was going to go to. Asu and help out in some way. I don't know if he actually did. Continue so i think. I think it's a combination of a couple of things for starters. I will stick to trim the extra hair you gotta you gotta the sloppiness. i think. Oh yeah especially upfront. On offense i mean. Ucla had plays where this is more of a credit to ucla in their front and creativity. Where i think asu had. Obviously they're five linemen and they left the running back in to help out and so you had a six-man wall and ucla showed pressure on one side and drop guys back it. Ucla was getting j. daniels. Untouched with a four versus six disadvantage. And that's an issue. And they really impressive loaded sides and stuff like that. But i don't know if it's a jaden daniels or if it's an offensive line thing it's a communication between the two but with the game on the line jeff daniels running for his life and just couldn't make place it's a combination of trimming the extra hair with number twenty five making amends. Dan making. Here's what it says for making amends. And i think this is elder statesman. You know this is something that i think about. A lot is as they enter the latter stages of my life mate. No matter how hard we try make amends matter how hard we try. We all commit wrongdoings from time to time dan. Okay off it can be easy to gloss over or hope that they fade into the ether. But now's a good time to make amends for those things might have said or might have done that. Never settled right. Not only will you feel unburdened. Asu you might just rescue or kindle and important relationship with winning football. I added that last part. I like it makes sense and trimmed the number thirty nine learn basic survival which you might need if dmitruk felton and dt are going to and what. Britain brown are going to keep running all over you number thirty night. Urine thirty figure now like it or not. People are going to look to you for guidance. Reassurance especially when things go south let them down know how to handle yourself. This is where it takes a turn in various survival situations. I thought this was just like medical. It also what surviving at the end of the usc game with the lead sh yeah surviving a full drive without fumbling the goal line. Okay okay. yeah it's a stretch okay. So instead of making amends since that's a little too deep for this show. Why don't we say we gotta do the trimming of the hair thing. Because that's too funny torrent and then thirty nine learn. Basic survival also says learn how to build a fire in a shelter. Keep emergency kits in your house and car know how to perform cpr or fashion. A splint your the one they're looking to. I don't know who is looking to. Asu in this strange kind of comparison but learning basic survival as you said they were two minutes from foreign. Oh yeah that fits in. I actually liked that one a lot. Thank you very much. Those are five teams right. Those are the five teams. Yeah what across anything that. You may have read in the literature. i sent. Thank you for that advice. Yeah the medical checklists and things to accomplish when you're forty and there's a lot of bucket list stuff on there what makes you either physically or emotionally mentally whatever what makes you feel your age. The most explicitly get your first kohanovsky. Yeah yeah. I think that does scare me make a will that. I mean a wells. Yeah have to. Isn't that a little premature at turning forty. No now i think so. I think i need to do it more so than you do right now. Just because i have potential heirs clear. I don't know what kind of thought you've given your your who's going to be your air. But it's like next generation air not solid wife. Kate sure but i think it's the responsible thing to do to get your affairs in order to crazy violent world make an archive of your life so far number thirty five. Whoa that's deep. Could hell man chances are. There's a ton of about your life scattered throughout the real an online world. That's that's for sure. Let's go through each one of these real quick. I just want to know where you're not. There's forty of them not all. We'll just broke quick. Listen i know you don't have time you're fighting. Got five minutes. We got five minutes. All right celebrate. Are you grateful. Do you celebrate are you. Are you prone to celebration. Prone to celebration. Yeah life. i'm not prone celebration. But i'm not i'm not against i believe we all need to celebrate a little bit more. What will you have a fortieth birthday party with friends and family. You go all out and let them shower you with happiness. It depends on what that means. If anyone is putting stuff in my yard. I will kill them. Okay we'll murder them in cold blood. Otherwise i'm fine with go on an adventure. I'm okay with this like what. What sort of adventure or vacation or trip sounds like the most out of your comfort zone. Climb a mountain. Do you want take surfing lessons. In costa rica. Let's let's go to europe. That'd be fun okay. That's a big place tie we're gonna need to be specific and we need to be specific about activities. I do you want to climb the matterhorn. No i don't care about climbing. I hate heights me. You've been on a plane. Hey you know what that salt water adventure like boats. I'm cool with boats. Would you go like serious whitewater rafting. Now i don't like boats that much on thai now. I'm sure it's a good one for you. Whitewater rafting. i don't maybe you can do it in pennsylvania. I don't know but i can't get out west. You can do it in canada. You can do it you know arizona colorado somewhere like new california oregon. Whitewater rafting is really fun. And if you get thrown. You're wearing a life jacket. And you sort of bob in the water it's great. I don't know how i feel about this. I need to grudges. I need to i give. I don't really hold grudges that much new year but you are crazy competitive about certain things. i do. Hold some grudges. Now that you mentioned. Now yeah okay. We talked about mak- well you haven't major will yet. You've started a family in that you've gotten married that's correct so you have all sorts of relatives that you didn't before you got married so technically counts I did read about genetic material. And what happens when you turn forty. So you're sending me this as well. I didn't who'd this as part of. Yeah i call us copy. We talked about this do it. I don't it's a big deal it just this is one of the ones that makes me feel old. You ask the big deal. I'm not saying big deal. But i know we just do it. Create new tradition a chili cook off scavenger hunt. Family roast a country getaway anything. I'm okay with new traditions. This is this is like doing the college football playoff new year's eve like they tried it and it didn't work but i feel like i could do a better job by property. You've already done that. "Oklahoma. It's the late night snacking for spencer sanders that's so tantalizing that she's going to mess everything up for the next morning down the cheetos. Maybe go carrot sticks okay. I mean he held. You know i would. I've done a two. yeah next. What do we talk about. We got one team left here dan. Okay let's talk about your arizona. State sun devils. Yeah let's talk about the issues on devils also. Eight and five in two thousand nineteen just two and two in two thousand and twenty cova shortened year especially so for the pac twelve Okay i am all over the map on. Asu okay. i really liked. Jaden daniels zoomed in a little bit. I've dropped a pen. You've dropped a pin. Yeah like when you. When you're all over the map now you drop a pin on like your phone to tell somebody where you are. You drop the pin or if you're on the computer. The pin spin meal is really. Yeah wow continue. I have all over the map on. Asu i really like jaden daniels. I really like jane daniels. I don't know if they figured out a way to put him in a position to succeed. He's had some talent around him that he's been able to utilize but i feel like his interaction especially with his offensive line. Hasn't been great. We saw him run more this past year which was which was both exciting and at the same time kinda like terrifying for his life necessary. Yeah yeah like and on the defensive side. I feel like sometimes we get a good version of asu. Sometimes we don't like. I don't know it may be the reason that we're playing this game at least four of these. Five teams auburn. Unc oklahoma state now. Asu is to figure out how they can get more consistent how they can play to a higher level. My opinion of this team though is very much clouded by the fact that i like their quarterback and i'm just unsure of pretty much everything else there are a number of things like about. Asu the secondary was pretty good. last year. the skill talent was especially given some of the youth there. I mean a good mix of youth and older guys. Lv buckley shelton. Johnny wilson's a huge dude. Frank darby made plays they just had like nothing season. They lose last second to usc. I didn't watch that game. Because i didn't want to watch anybody's first game because it's never fully indicative of anything but they lose that game up late and just completely completely fold and then they're off for a month a issues totally snake bitten by the health and safety stuff and so they get back on the field early december against ucla a month later and there were cobwebs. The offensive line was not good. And jane daniels who normally i believe he is not turnover prone. He does not throw a of picks. He had a fumble at the goal. Line he lined up under center about to score and there's a botched exchange and ucla recovers and then he throws an exceptionally catchable ball. Unfortunately it's true when he overthrows it by about ten feet and throws a pick in the end zone so the opportunities there for a issue to go undefeated this year and big ask. that's foreign. oh for a issue. They end up not playing in a bowl game but they could have beaten. Usc quite easily in la. They could've beaten ucla. In tempe they blow out arizona. They have a nice win against oregon state. Who wasn't fantastic. But morgan state won the civil war. That's something they sixty five percent when expectancy in that. Ucla twenty-five eighteen loss and they just the stretches where they're not moving. The ball were too frequent and then the when they do move the ball so they arizona state is quite close. They need to get better and deeper up front on both sides of the ball. Ucla had too many plays pushing around and running over around. And through a su- up front on defense and then on offense. Jaden daniels was constantly under fire in this game. And the the teams we've talked about auburn has been pretty good upfront on offense and really good on defense. Iwa of course is kind of an nfl factor on both sides. Of the line of scrimmage and north carolina certainly showed a lot of improvement on both sides. The got push around on defense a bit. That's one of those things. Where and oklahoma state looked incredible upfront on defense for stretches last year. It's one of those things where it's hard to see. Asu not dropping three games. When their lines of scrimmage are not necessarily on the level of the rest of the field or they're better opponents so i can see them taking down good teams like they did a couple years ago against oregon but ucla was fine. They were interesting. They were intriguing. Asu should have beaten ucla at home last year. It was right there for the taking. And i imagine a herm edwards hyped team. They're basically two minutes from being four. No that's so it's tantalizing toy. Asu but they're they're big bodies need improvement big. So is it a question. Of of of cleaning up the sloppiness somewhat. Yeah they didn't tackle particularly well against ucla number twenty three trim. All the extra hair is that is that is at painting with too broad brush. Her definitely did number sixteen reconnect with old friends. He did tonio pearson. Marvin lewis did jackson. Take care of your parents. I mean her. Ms in older gentleman. Right i'd man. Asu was tough for.

"Yes he's now. They're coordinator but the of the longtime receivers coach has always done a great job finding and developing talent so that oklahoma states. I don't see a reason why they're making that leap to ten wins but i could see the threat becoming more obvious that they're going nine three or they're going eight and four but they're not lewd. They're only losing games because baylor has gotten so much better or tcu finally found a quarterback and they just go back and forth. It's it's easy to see how they could win ten games but my confidence level is sort of on that similar oklahoma state. See-saw that offense defense. So i'm just like i'm going to need to see more often before i believe it so this this is a message of not unlike north carolina trying to get more consistent trying to get more stable. There is an item. There are a couple of items again on the as the elder statesmen on this ask men dot com list right by the way in terms of getting to double digit wins. They win because they won their bowl games. That got them to eight wins. So they're seven three in the regular season they lose to tcu scoring twenty two points in a not great offensive performance. Obviously they're not competitive in the bedlam game in norman and they eke out a win against will howard and kansas state on the road. Now backup qb. So it's not like the seven regular season wins. Were crazy impressive. And it's a stranger for everybody. But i just. I wanna see a twenty seven touchdowns to six interception near from spencer sanders. If that is. I mean that's just it's kind of a hollow staff if we're in that range that's telling me that he's playing with a certain degree of confidence that makes me feel good about attendant to poke time. The answer here is number. Twenty one eat healthier eat healthier. We're we are looking for a cleaner burning more efficient version of oklahoma state. Yeah that was really close to what i guess. T-bone was trying to do right then. He wasn't trying to go wind energy near the end. There i think near the end there. Yeah yeah okay. I think he was. Here's here's what this says is great. Everyone knows you're supposed to live healthier as you get older. The days of smashing cheeseburgers and beer with impunity are over the gundy has had to change his ways. Not exactly not only. Is it easier to put on weight now. As your metabolism metabolism slows but threats.

"Risky. You just gotta you gotta go peddle the metal when you're younger but maybe maybe we're starting to talk about all right. Well throttle a back a little bit. We'll go into in some some some investments that are less risky that field house. Same page anything detail oriented on here. Make a will. So that's crossing t's and dotting is or in wayne's world two lower case jays it's the the reason they lost those games is not because they were out talented or out scheme they were just outplayed and so if they are not fumbling if they're not muffing punts are not getting beaten by florida state second or third string quarterback on the ground and good but not killer running backs and the obviously show that they were able to make the adjustments defensively in the second half but yeah. It's becoming more detail oriented. I don't know if it's on your list but it's you know it's raking leaves. I got i got it. I got right here. I found it number nine. Look number down by property buy property. That's isn't that the ultimate. Like i am maturing. Move right there. Sure when that's paying attention that's cleaning out your gutters by property number nine so our advice spying. And maintaining yeah. North carolina is get out of the rental. Get out of the apartment. Find something that's gonna start working for you build equity as a program. That's hitman okay. You may not be able to have. I'm going to read this. You may not be able to afford your dream apartment in your favorite city but you can probably invest in something that will develop and appreciate nicely over the next few decades. This is what we're talking about here not in this market tie plus you plus you end up with the option to rent out your space and sell down the line for a tidy. I like these words here. Tidy appreciate nicely next few decades. We're trying to build this thing for north carolina number nine by property. That's advice okay. Next team stevens. Go oklahoma state. Dan would love to oklahoma state. Oklahoma state eight and five and twenty nineteen eight and three in twenty twenty. My thing with oklahoma is at every team every year. Feels exactly the same mean state because that's very insulting to call them oklahoma oklahoma state. Excuse me you're okay. please forgive me. Yep every team every year feels kind of exactly the same way. They bump up against that ceiling. Yeah i mean every year. We always good. But then they'll have a clunker and a half and lose a game that they shouldn't and they end up nine three and four the the really exciting bit for oklahoma state that has left me actually feeling a bit frustrated is that the defense has improved. it has improved. And whenever you see defense in the big twelve that plays a really high level. That's a competitive advantage. At least it should be now. Offense though has been very inconsistent and there are various reasons for that now to nightmare. Yeah various reasons for that this past year there. Were you know the the tube hubbard things he playing is he not playing spencer. Sanders was hurt. There were reasons for it. I'm not saying it's all self inflicted it's not but despite a lot of promise. It just feels like that offense has not really appreciate it. I'll use the word again. In the way that we had expected the defense has done. Its part the offense. Just feels like just very frustratingly inconsistent in in a way that we have not necessarily come to know from a mike gundy team where typically we think gundy. Think offense i so. I know you went back. I know you looked at oklahoma state. What did you see man. They handed the texas came to the horns on a silver platter. They move the ball so well they made so many good decisions on offense and then stripped sacks and bad picks and picks run back to give texas short field so there was a ninety eight percent win expectancy for oklahoma state given the metric advantage that they had over texas across the board but texas made plays on defense. And as we've come to watch. Sam etlinger somehow through a mix of occasional deep balls but mostly slowly developing drag routes comes back and helps texas to win. This game made plays at the end of the game that spencer sanders and he was. He was getting beat up at the end of this game as he tried. But it was another instance of just not take. I don't know if there's an item here like don't don't shoot yourself in the foot that's analogous to but there was something about oklahoma state who as a double digit win ish team and program should do. They weather a quarterback injury and they're able to survive an advance and win games with was at shane. Illingworth was the one who ended up taking the majority of added. Yeah shane illingworth was fine but obviously had a very young ceiling but the offense was able to adapt and win games. Which is as far as i'm concerned. Very positive thing for the pokes but the spencer sanders alma. No he cut down on the interceptions overall but the picks that he threw in this game. We're so backbreaking. That i believe in spencer sanders is ability and his ceiling. More than i do for bonex but at the same time there is that silom at like you talked about. The offense has an amazing year and the defense falls off a cliff. Then the defense steps up in a big way and the offense is dealing with injury issues or turnover issues or something like that and they fall down and now we're dealing with an oklahoma state team. Who is still pretty solid running back. If i remember correctly there room is still pretty deep. Even without shubra hubbard but no more. Dylan's stone thailand wallace. So they should be fine at receiver. They've generally seemed to and mike gundy and his staff and they have one of the better..

"Weird year offense took a huge jump forward huge jump. Forward by any measure of the offense was outstanding both through the air and on the ground on the defensive side. I think we were looking for more of an improvement daniel. It did sorta tread water. It wasn't as big of a jump as many were expecting though they have recruited well on that side of the football defense probably actually got a little bit worse. The defense was fine. I mean they played some tough offenses but there were stretches there. I mean you're looking at a program. That what they went seven and three within the acc and they'd be like western carolina or something so they they technically had eight win so the weight and four if you include the ball game loss to texas a and m but their losses during the season that were not that they were going to have a good chance at winning. They were never going to win that. Notre dame game with the way that notre dame defense was playing especially leading jordan. Travis run over them and letting everybody on the floor state off created by north carolina on the rewatch you. I watched the virginia game and sam howell shredded. The who's they ran the ball. Fine but sam howell shredded them all game long and did enough to win that game. The issue is sam howell and just mistakes. In general in terms of turnovers and mistakes killed the heels. It kept them out of the game and same how kept bringing them in and then you have same. Hell bring them to the goal line near near halftime in the first half and throwing a bad backwards past that can't be handled in that ends to half right as they're about to score and then another fumble in the second half and it's just one of those. It was right away in the second half and it's surrounded by virginia getting it done right before the end of half of the end of the first half in the beginning of the start of the second-half that's just like god. This is such a winnable game for north carolina and yet and yet and it was on the road. They snatched defeat from the jaws of victory. That was an easy i'm seeing. Let's see eighty six percent post game win expectancy if you look at the metrics in that game. The computer would figure. There's an eighty six percent chance carolina wins. They give up forty four in a losing effort. And then that florida state game. It was just a nightmare of a first half and they fix things in the second half but they couldn't bring themselves back so this was the team that was most obviously a double digit win quality team. They weren't on an ems level. Which am is right there on the edge of the playoff and that's fine in the ball game but as we move forward and what north carolina's replacing its best receivers and running backs. They've recruited well and tie. Chandler comes in from tennessee. What it's not obvious as to who is immediately holding up their end of the bargain with sam howell. Yeah i mean at the skill positions so the one skill positions. Yeah the one caveat. I would add here. Is that despite the fact that there are obvious targets obvious skill positions that are going to need to be replaced. North carolina is set up pretty well in the trenches. They do bring back a lot in the front seven with the exception of chas. Sarut so i think this is a team that has set up. Well they need to find some of those complimentary pieces as he. Yeah i mean it's it's going to be guys who can hang with sam howell and at least a little bit more havoc on the defensive side of the ball especially upfront. That's where they got. They got pushed around a little bit. And so that can make up for a lot of offensive green issues early on but yeah i mean. They've recruited well again. The guys who can come into their own this fall. I don't have the schedule in front of me. But this is without a a team who has shown flashes and even though i like to call my car williams but devante williams and michael carter are gone. It was as complete an offense as we saw. I guess outside of alabama across college football so that has me feeling good about the heels and threatening to become a saturday sunday win. You know ten games every so often or more often than they do now. So what what you're describing to me again is the elder statesman of this show before but What you're describing to me is somebody in there like mid to late twenties where they've got things going in a good direction totally not fully matured yet. No not a girl not yet. A woman as britney spears like to point out the wise profit So i'm thinking things around create a retirement plan talk to a financial adviser even things like you know. Don't hold grudges or get serious about dental care. Dan which ever number thirty to your teeth are slowly rotting away. Thank you ask. Men dot com. Yeah i feel like the message of stability is what we need to try and convey here because the other fact that we didn't mention is a sam house going to go pro after this coming season. He's going to he's going to be. Qb of the future as well got a qb. The future drake may however sam. Hal lightning in a bottle with them. And not all of those top blue chip recruits workout. Right so my only point here is. Let's start thinking long term about how we can build this thing. The offense has been fun. The defense needs to get better. What can we do for mack brown. If a really trying to turn this into a fully formed program something of stability get serious about dental care feels a little more a little too morbid implies that there is an issue but maybe we just go like surface talked to a financial adviser like start. Start getting some stuff together. Setup that ira make sure that your make sure that your contributions to the 401k are going to the right spot for long term growth. Yeah we in the not too conservative with your investing when you're young. That's when you wanna go risky. You just gotta you gotta go peddle the metal when you're younger but maybe maybe we're starting to talk about all right. Well throttle a back a little bit. We'll go into in.

"An expectation that you think is unreasonable for the now brian harrison auburn program regular season wins once every three years. I don't think that's unreasonable at all. Okay now. I don't think that's unreasonable at all. I think you know part of what hartson was good at at boise was maintaining some general level of stability he. He was consistent year in year out. And i think if you're auburn look auburn. We've we've done the thing on this show where we talk about every other year. It's like every other year when you don't think auburn's going to have a good year. They have a good year when you think they should. They don't so. It's been the tale of two cities to an extent for the auburn tigers. If you're brian horse and coming in i think you want to try and establish that consistency now. Maybe it's not ten wins every year. It probably isn't in the sec. But if you can see if you can consistently be at like a nine wind level and every so often bump up to ten eleven if you're really lucky twelve. I think that's entirely in the cards. But we don't know what it's gonna look like yet and it's a difficult. Sec schedule as it always is. They've got penn state and twenty one coming up here in the fall. Second to last week is september. That's going to be a tough road. Non conference game. So it's it's just not gonna be easy and in the short term. I agree with you. I was really high knicks when he took the reins. He's a legacy. He did have moments in his freshman year especially where we the stats kind of kind of painted a different picture. But there were there were certainly moments in the early oregon and alabama. Yeah the early part of bonuses career where it was like. This kid got some intangibles. I tend to agree with you now after another season. I'm not sure he's the guy so i don't know if it's taking dancing lessons. I don't know if it's the fall. Colonoscopy two different sides of the spectrum their colonoscopy just is a picture taking procedure they're not cleaning everything out. I am aware of what it is. Okay okay. I do appreciate start. I am aware but in some in some way shape or form. The move for auburn is one of self reflection looking in the mirror and being honest with oneself. And so whether. It's hey. I got i got a stretch my limits. I get get outside my comfort zone and take dancing lessons. Or it's i got this pain in my gut i gotta get this thing checked out one or the other they gotta do something to just truly value. Whether an life. I would also add number fourteen. Put yourself out there. Because they're recruiting to be expected with the coaching transition. Fell off a cliff in this last class and this next class. Obviously there haven't been guys on campus and camps and spring days and all sorts of things like that. But hasn't started off in a gangbusters way. And so i'm positive. This staff is making things a priority out on the recruiting trail but it it really needs to be seen in the twenty twenty two class. That auburn just landed because i think they went from the number seven class to the number twenty class and all things considered. It's a pretty big drop off. So yeah i am going to say. Put yourself out there number fourteen and just really really sing the praises of the auburn brand. Whatever that is. Hey dan before we go any further. Let's talk about the most comfortable socks in the history of heat from our good friends over at bomba. They're back dan. I've missed talking about my guys and bomba's let's do. They have literally rethought every little detail of the socks that we wear to make way more comfortable. What is the credo that you live by mr rubinstein. You're only as comfortable as your feet are. You are only as comfortable as your feet are. Yes same wearing baba's right now. These are socks that do more than just usual socks right. We wear them every day because they do more than just. Keep your feet cozy. They also help give back to the most vulnerable members of our community. Every pair of socks that you purchase baba's donates a to someone in need true they have donated forty million pairs over forty million pairs of socks and counting through their nationwide network of three thousand plus giving partners. That's a powerful impact man especially now more than ever to those experiencing homelessness. The socks represents so much the dignity of putting on.

"Why don't we go to auburn. Dan auburn auburn. Could be a really interesting discussion here. So nine and four two years ago. Six and five. This past year parted ways with gus. Malzahn brought brian hartson. That's the obvious headline both offense and defense in twenty twenty. Took a marginal step back. It wasn't a harsh show but it was a marginal step back and i feel like especially on offense. There was just this era of inconsistency. That's what has plagued. Gus malzahn what had plagued gus malzahn. In the last few years of his tenure at auburn the explosiveness in particular has been really bad for two years running. And if you look at things that ultimately are like antithetical to gus malzahn brand. We think gus malzahn we think of like what did with cam newton. We think nick marshall year. Like this is not necessarily an offense that i've come to know as lacking exclusivity it's a thorough jarrett stidham. Yeah there were yeah. So it's it's supposed to be an explosive offense that zags you like to say it can't just teams off guard with ability to do different things. We just didn't see enough of that. Now we can go into detail here on why that didn't happen whether it was beau knicks whether it was a any number of different things but Are obviously movie gone from malzahn. They're going to brian hartson. I guess the question that we can ask is what what does this transition mean It also means the arrival of derek mason. Who was let go by vanderbilt to come down now. Run the defense for the auburn tigers. Right mike bobo. Finance was yeah. He was going to be retained in columbia. But yeah he. He got seduced away from south carolina to auburn. Seduced away so this is very much a program in transition maybe a bit of a midlife crisis here. What what say you. I know you watch some of your auburn auburn clips. what so. I re watched the auburn an game. Which was fun and strange. And honestly there for the taking for auburn. I don't know if that's saves his job. I know that there were stories that after the south carolina loss it was basically all but a done. Deal gus malzahn and moving in a new direction but auburn's interesting so the replacing their receivers. They're changing things up on defense after a really impressive stretch with kevin steele running the show. He's gone and as you mentioned. Eric made over and shifting a little bit in terms of scheme. I believe so to me what jumped out about that game and where auburn needs to be and where they aren't is i just think they need a better quarterback. That's the starting point in the. You know the mike bobo system for as good. It's as it's been at certain places but not every place if bonex is not able to consistently throw on platform to take a snap and make a read and step into a throw in the pocket. He's able to make plays he made incredible plays in that am game especially with his feet. But i just if we're talking about auburn as a more consistent double digit win threat. They either needs somebody that you can count on quarterback to be like a consistent be plus or they need that high ceiling and maybe it's davis the freshman who set all sorts of records at texas. He's a shorter dude. Like five ten five eleven. But i think he has electricity to him. That's pretty intriguing for the future depending on if he's a good fit with whatever auburn is running on. Of course. Brian hartson has his own offense of background. But i don't know the defense took a step back offensively. Relying on a number of new skill guys but auburn should always recruited well enough. But it's very difficult to see now. Taxonomy has a very good defense but that game was absolutely there for the taking and there were just far too many mistakes and three and outs and miscalculations and missed receivers to feel like bo knicks. Hope i'm wrong. Always hope i'm wrong with stuff like this because i'm always uncomfortable. I've become more uncomfortable. Criticizing college kids but it doesn't seem like he's a double digit win answer at this juncture. Okay so so. There are several themes. I think emerging here again as the elder statesman looking at this handy list from ask men dot com which i will link up for. Anyone interested is preposterous. But there are several themes i think the one that is shining through the is one of self-awareness char one a self awareness so there are a couple different angles that we could go here in our advice to auburn to mentor. Somebody mentor somebody number seven. Get a colonoscopy. Okay like just just suck it up. Get the picture taken. And and let's really medically assess what's going on here. I'm i'm very excited to hear what you have to say. In terms of comparing a colonoscopy to the auburn offense we could do that we could go back to school could also go number twenty two embrace. The change embraced the change of the moment. Steer into the brian harrison regime. And just go with something new also. How about take dancing lessons number twenty nine just to get out of the comfort zone. Skit out of the comfort zone. I'll ask you this then. Just because you bring up an internal procedure go deep inside and look at your gut feel your gut and do you see the brian hartson mike bobo. Derek mason bonex. Sandra dee davis and whatever whoever comes after their at quarterback and just the general potential for auburn given the situation. The sec west. Do you think they can win. Double digit games once every three years. Which i imagine does not sound unreasonable to an auburn program. That has one played for national championships in the last decade has been the sec championship game has been in major games..

kevin steele Brian hartson Eric Sandra dee davis brian hartson two years columbia south carolina Malzahn derek mason mike bobo Derek mason bonex Gus malzahn brian harrison nine last decade jarrett stidham nick marshall cam newton auburn

"It will be available again. Only do our patriotic subscribers. There will be a video version that is available to some of you as well very excited about the show. Yeah horner than. I remember the nineties kids. Sports movies not like there are more references to adult themes in them than i immediately remembered nightnurses from jersey or we go in jersey absolutely. Don't we start with iowa. Dan okay so in two thousand nine hundred. And i went ten and three. They had the big bowl win over. Usc resounding bowen over usc this past year in the cova shortened season played eight games. Went six to the defense has remained stout over the years. Certainly over the last two years explosiveness though has remained poor. And my guess is that we're gonna. We're gonna talk a little bit more about this. As it relates to i'll maturing into that a fully formed threat to win the big ten. The offense did improve marginally in twenty twenty. But my i is trained on that explosively number which i know we have come to know and love The only other tidbit here. That i'll offer just looking forward. Is that the schedule. And twenty twenty one actually looks fairly workable. It's not a not a bruiser of a schedule of obviously of iowa state in the non khan and they've got penn state as one of their cross. Divisional games big matchup against iowa. But it's not as big ten schedules go. It's it's fairly workable so when you looked at iowa it was the first thing that jumped out to you. What what is their next step. So i re watch so i what i did is i went back and watched the five games involving these teams. That seem like we could have if if one of those teams so if any of these five teams won the game that we might be looking at this team differently in terms of hype coming into this year or and so i was a little bit different than these other programs that they've won double digit games relatively recently. If you include the bowl game against usc recently than they want but they went and three in the regular season. I tend to look at these things as a regular season. So i re watched and scrub through the northwestern game from last year. A game that iowa city gave because spencer beatrice couldn't pewtrust petrous petrous pitches couldn't stop throwing interceptions. He was inaccurate and he was at one point. The announcer called his continued throwing style hot and high hot now. That's max yeah reminiscent of that. And so over the course of the season. I was defense with sensational. Iowa's offense was more creative especially on the ground. But they lose their top two receivers notably. Sam and i don't know if we saw a ton. In terms of the hawks evolving going downfield successfully and more creatively in the passing game. It was a lot of what. I like to think of as pickle ball football where it's just real tight twelve yard fields at a time. You end do you play pick wall. Do you know what pickle ball is. I know it pickle ball is. I've never played them about to start. Playing paddle. tennis pad is different but similar yet. Different different Ball different racket. Different rules but yeah okay. We're we may need to come back to this. Because they need to learn more about pickle ball but anyway can continues with older people. Say i think you really do need to dig in. Thank you a little bit. More iowa is interesting because the offense when it's add it's best relies on an f. o.'s of serving its defense but also efficient passing. I mean the running game hasn't been there Overall these last few years. But there's no reason to it. Just what i'm trying to say is it's a smaller margin for error when you don't have that explosively which bills see talks about. In in terms of the team that wins the exclusivity battle generating and preventing wins more games than any other metric conduct tate than turnover margin and so i was fantastic at stopping those big plays but until they fully shed that offensive. I guess i mean it's it's hard when you have a reputation for not developing explosive players on offense but they need to continue going down that creative path and with the big ten where it is right now with essentially a power as it stands in the off season twenty. Twenty one games are winnable for iowa. And there's no. There's no real reason beyond i think the accuracy and ability in the downfield passing game. I mean the northwestern game was so ugly. They were early. They were taking advantage of short fields. They i mean the second half was just a complete nightmare for the iowa offense and it was early on in the season. But it's not like we saw this offense suddenly come to the back half of their schedule so i am hopeful that they can evolve. But i don't know that. This is the quarterback to lead that way and so he is the elder statesman of this show hearing this analysis. Dan and looking at this list again. Forty things to do when you turn forty i've been evaluating through the course of your now asus. What iowa may need to do per this list if they want to take that next step in if they want to be a man and be forty that makes sense. Correct number eight. Update your wardrobe. Okay update your wardrobe. Feels like a good step here for iowa especially on offense because a lot of this program we wanna remain intact. We wanna keep the defense intact. We've made fun of kirk fair before. Because he's kind of boring. He's been there forever but he's also built something. That's very very sustainable. It's a sturdy program and it's done well it's done very well over his. Is that not what you were mentioning. before that. like indulge a fantasy indulge a fantasy. That might be sort of have a a successful workmanlike experience in the bedroom. But it's time to za`z it up a little bit right. So i mean we could go. We could go sex fantasy. Sure we could go. Spice up your marriage which i don't no one ever has a real good answer for what that means. I mean how much time do you have or your. Thank you or i feel like update your wardrobe. It's it's got. Its conservative enough. That fits the program but at the same time it conveys the point. What ask men dot com says is as you enter the next phase of adulthood. You may want to reconsider. How you dress for. The part forty is a great time to reinvent your style. Dan something that a little bit more age appropriate. No one saying you have to retire all your torn concert keys but as a forty something you want to make sure you have some good options for business casual and formal events to. I feel like we want iowa to get more of those cutoff. T shirts want to be a little bit edgier. Maybe they'd be wearing khakis a little bit too much over the last couple of years we do want is as it up a little bit by updating that wardrobe. Do you agree okay. Yeah i think that's fine. Do you have items that you are looking to check off. In terms of wardrobe updating. You know what. I actually made a rather large clothing purchase at you before the pandemic okay before the pandemic was there a theme to it at the time. It was work attire. Just like updating the works are because okay i just. I don't buy clothes that often. And so i did the work attire and i haven't taken any of it out of the patch. Have an answer. I can count on one hand the number of times in the last year. I've worn a collared shirt. I decided a couple of years ago. To invest more in premium athletes are brightly joggers. And then i really in. This just hasn't come to pass and again. I'm nowhere near forty in the way that you are but i really wanted to. I have a couple of items like the like button down short sleeved shirts with prince legal pineapples and stuff like that not full hawaiian. But just you know colorful full. Andy reid no no absolutely not. I'll get there eventually right but no not that okay. So update your joe. I think that's appropriate What do you wanna go or job. Is the advice for iowa to get to the next stage..

Friday morning to our ver ballers advert dot com or more patriotic patrons. That's right you can also go to newsletter dot solid verbal dot com. I'm steering hard into the newsletter angle. This year. I don't know if you love it. If you've made letter of intent yeah but the newsletter of tents getting a bit of a makeover. And we're going to steer into that because newsletters podcasting are having a bit of a rebirth during the pandemic. so that's true I am always open to ways to try. And add value to people's everyday lives and Yes so newsletter. That solvable dot com if you are interested in partaking in the fun. If you haven't already we're going to be revitalizing are offering in that department. Yeah not a lot of news. And that's i think worthy of the sound effect it's you know more transfers some commitments and the dead period ends so we'll get some visits and more quote unquote normal recruiting happening across the sport but nothing to enormous to me has been happening across a sport i saw. Espn released like what is f. I their power endeavour index. Yeah some sort of combination of returning starts and production. And i don't know what else they include their opaque tip on the fbi. Please approach hip on the fbi. So a lot of people will ask We've had it on some of the stuff that we've done. How much would xp be over. Why get that all the time right and easy way just as a guide. It's by no means a tried and true way to get the exact number but if you're just like interested in that sort of thing go to the fbi look at the total ranking for both teams and subtract one from the other. And that's that's basically how you get a neutral field point spread. We'll we'll protect. I also saw that you and boston. College are aligned with your new balance associations. The i'm wearing air jordans right now i've evolved into my. You're which ones i don't know did the ones that i sent you months ago. I think you. I think you sent me the ones really nice could job. You actually may have ones that look like this. "Happy. You want to be happy for day. Eight state and welcome back to these sullivan. Boys and girls money tie hildenbrand joining me as always over there. Beautiful chicago illinois. Dan rubenstein sir are you. I'm pretty good. I'm excited to nibble at the bones of the college football offseason juicy wings. I dunno where i'm going with. But i'm very excited for this episode there are. There's a really nice thematically crossover that we have going on with show. I'm particularly proud of. Yeah so as we've mentioned here before you are turning forty in the fall in the fall correct fall late fall. thank you bye. Thank you for reminding me of the simple fact. I had forgotten several times so far this year. Thank you for reminding me your true friend. Of course of course well first of all you don't look forty. You look like you're early to mid thirties like like. I am and wally early to mid thirties. Yeah would i'm thirty seven. And so that's like in that. Like mid thirties ish own. We'll i'll give you mid thirties about early but mid we can do so i was thinking about it of course and thinking about like forty is a number where like okay. You're in your twenties. You're young you're out of college thirties. You're you're a grownup for sure. You're a grown up by the the twenty s are just kind of your rear view mirror you at forty and the rear view mirror is chipping off right now. We're talking about portfolios. Once he hit forty. And you're just not when you're twenty five. You're talking ear hair. You're talking having to ice a lot more often after normal activities. And it's okay it. We're all going to go through it s younger generations. So what i was thinking about was your progress towards forty and what you have and maybe having accomplished because that is that big number as you enter this fifth decade of life right. And so what i want to say. You're you're officially like okay. So my people say you're officially a man when you turned thirteen like there is something you can call somebody kind of like boyish in their thirties. I don't know if you can when you hit forty. Well i wanted. Hey this is the mike gundy thing. It's our intro. i'm a man forty he says. So this is. This is your official time. It's this year is happening. And so i wanted to review. Teams are definitely young adults but are they men. I don't think so yet. And i don't know there's a certain threshold and it's to me a double digit win. Program is a is an adult program in this case it. We say i'm a man. I'm forty by gundy so we'll go with a man instead of woman but you know what i'm saying here sure that there are programs that have grown up but are they fully realized are they fully hitting their potential as often as they should be. I thought about this about thirty seconds before the show. Are they saturday sundays. So so what. I'm saying there. That's sundays with an e. We all strive to make an enjoy ice cream. But those those special bowls tie have what chocolate syrup or hot fudge whipped cream peanuts cherry on top. That's what we're angling for. And you know maybe it's just a hot fudge but there are those four elements that may be taken from eight. Wins to twelve wins. I'm going to say this show's theme is taking a look at five teams. Who i feel like are on the precipice of becoming a man. I'm forty like you on the precipice of a double digit win ish program but there's still some work to do to earn that hot fudge. Peanuts whipped cream cherry. So i wanna take a look at those five teams with you one from each power conference and figure out why they haven't been and if they could be that saturday sunday i'm a man i'm forty. Does that make any sense. Sure also a theme for this show are the two links that you send me one of which is titled forty things to do when you turn forty in another says health checklist for men in their forties. I did one zero in on number five on the things to do list which is make a will. That's where we're going with this. Make a will get your first colonoscopy good indulge one year sex fantasies. I mean this. Is this runs the gamut here. I mean it can be an as many as you want a other news items. He wanted to get to other housekeeping items. You wanted to get off topic show with our friend. Bill barnwell of espn about ninety kids sports movies. That'll be released. Friday.

"One of the roles that these any oxidants plays actually helping with the recycling of Glutathione in the body. Thia right so we produce glutathione. The wasn't get used up by cells and then it needs to be recycled and in order to recycle it. We need your vitamin C. or Vitamin E. In your coins. Aren't you perfect? Okay and so you know. These are definitely available through food again nuts. Nc's from flex grains fruits and vegetables various. Yes so you WANNA be looking at the any oxygen index foods so blueberries have a very high antioxidant index And just making sure because again. We're living in these. Modern Times have a sleuthing anti-oxidants quicker than we can replenish the environment being hired pollutants and toxins. And that sort of thing so we just need to be making sure that we have a constant flow of antioxidants coming into the body right and then last but not least maybe have a smart ass. Here is the ten nutrient. The most important is actually the one that you are deficient Roy. Okay and I say that because I I'm hoping to address those gentlemen who may be on prescription medication as so for example. If you are on a cholesterol lowering medication you are increased of Coenzyme q ten deficiency if you are taking metformin you are increased risk of developing a B twelve deficiency. If you are on heartburn medication you are increased risk of developing magnesium calcium and zinc deficiency. So all of these matters so the tenth nutrient is the one which you uniquely are deficient in. So what if you are taking these? The these prescription medications I guess I just I just answer my question you need to you. Need to supplement needs. You need because you need to take that prescription medication for whatever that is trying to aid you in. But then now not means you need to really up this the other supplemental things that you're going to be deficient correct so that the deficiency you're that you're running as a result of the prescription medication is not a reason to stop the medication. Right right right. We just simply customize your health plan to ensure that we're filling the gaps that are being created by the prescription medication that you need huge huge that. If that is big because a lot of times people don't do that. I know that for me when I was taking Protozoan. I don't know what Protozoan why what prison my body destroyed it but You know Dr wasn't telling me about what deficient sees or he wasn't really even going into the details of what's going to happen to me You know he kind of lost over. Okay Oh probably less. This as his focus was helping my lung disorder. That's number one thing. It wasn't about all the other stuff we need to get this first one through. I'm not like whatever happens will with that after. But let's get this I talk about what's GonNa deplenished my Saas. "That's that's big actually like like spinach and Kale and all your nothing. Your seize your fruits and veges your means you're rains okay. We're getting okay. We're good we're good. Everyone is good everyone because What are the things have? These guys do is post their their foods. Yes into our private facebook group. We have so every day the ton of people posting foods and we go in and and and just say okay. This is good. This is you know. Maybe you need a little bit more this a little bit more business because it's it's hard for at first when someone's coming in you know they're they're thinking about counting calories macro weighing and we don't do that at all it's just here's the plate and the song you're the four quadrants and this is what you need to have with more being six fruits and vegetables per per meal. You know I liked the fact Ellen. Of course most of the guys eat avocado. Just because it's a fact that easiest put with food and there's not a lot of healthy bats there that you can either to bury a aside from the proteins and the vegetables and and what have you healthy. Fats are very tough one. You don't WanNa be eating nuts every single meal so I'm a Cottam. Most of these guys are all eating avocados. Which great good. Yes no you know. We're we're getting it in there. So I like the fact that Fiber and getting it through that is find out. I've heard that too much. Fiber can can be detrimental consumption mental this true or is this so I mean so. Fourteen grams of fiber per one hundred hundred thousand calories consumed is the this absurd going going amount if there is a pre existing issue with things like cholesterol or diabetes recommendations. Sassy consume about thirty five grams of fiber per day. I'm glad you said that. Because we also have a diabetes solution program coming out For men with type two diabetes got people with type one diabetes. They they've already kind of what's happening because they would probably have since they were like in their teen years but guys who have type two or are on the cusp of type. Two or it's in their family. You know the attrition plans a little bit different there because it's more fiber based still have to have everything but it's more fiber based so even have to have more fiber if they do okay now. In terms of excess amounts of fiber it is A. It's it's possible in the side effects of that would be just bowel issues particularly if you're not hydrating adequately thirty five grams predictable just by the way a lot it's up crapload on man. Eating veggies all day. Air Day right Tom but I want I want you guys to sort of think. The fibers not so much or bowel regularity although it promotes it which is great for lowering the risk colorectal cancer. But it's mostly for the metabolic. Marcus who we are going to begin getting the most benefit right. 'cause fiber will lower blood sugar just by lowering the insulin index of food it also lowers cholesterol because it actually captures it in the bowels and helps you eliminate it goes. We're talking about bug cholesterol right. Can I always tell these guys in order for you to even produce thoughts from you need? Cholesterol need a Lotta guys? Like will you said so? I WanNa make sure you guys. There's good and bad cholesterol. We're right talk when we say cholesterol. And we're talking like this bad cholesterol right. That's right.

"Sugar cravings insomnia obesity blood sugar issues frequent infections. There might be something going on with your digestive system and probiotic so now. I'm not GonNa Touch on everything that I've mentioned today but these are things that I want your listeners to be thinking about and speaking to a healthcare provider about jobs to make sure that their unique health needs are being addressed while. But that's a that's a big lift and but but I think that's really important because I know that even I as you're going through Michael Yeah I have. I have suffered from that in the past. Or you know those things kind of popped up and then of course for me knowing that you know in my in my group and those guys you know. They're they they ask questions all the time. A lot of health questions and you know a lot of times though the questions that they ask are more geared towards workouts and nutrition and and that sort of thing but I love that you're bringing this stuff up because this will start to. Oh Yeah No. I've got that I've got that I've got that. Maybe this is you know I should be looking more into like us. Aside from the workouts nutrition. Plan that I give them in the food that they're eating now. I can look into getting these. These nutrients or micro vitamins. Exactly and if the if you guys are out. And they're falling. You know a regimen designed to increase performance in stamina and faster recovery the museum of the baseline. Things need to be considering particularly feel like. They're not. They're not for perhaps progressing as quickly as they would expect or despite a really good workout. There just floored the next morning. These things is our in should be considered because they will affect physical physical performance wrote. Of course there are the guys who aren't in my program. Probably listening to this who may have diabetes. Maybe obese you know all of those things because a lot of times you know when you're eating unhealthy employees or not exercising or you're not focusing on health. These are just like par for the course. You'RE GONNA YOU'RE GONNA YOU'RE GONNA be checking up all of these things so I loved. I loved you started. You started with this. And some of the consequences of deficiencies particularly in men are ins like depending on the nutrient deficiency but in general we can expect accelerated aging.

That's right that's so Yeah let's let's start. Start US off. What what are we looking at? Okay so I mean first off I just want to list off a couple of points of Regarding nutrition that are pretty well established and that I want your listeners to be aware of so. It's quite possible that the many of us are consuming too much sodium which is associated with increased risk of things like blood pressure in heart disease. So that's number one and so will come from your processed foods or refined foods if if you are a man who's Vegan vegetarian who has digestive issues. Who's exercising a lot? Maybe too much over. The fifty has diabetes or is under a lot of stress. It's likely that you are B twelve deficient. Okay if you are using antacids right. So that's YOUR ZANTAC. Or any any generics or any prescription heartburn medication if you suffer from hemorrhoids over. If you've had a history of ulcers you may be iron deficient which is not very common among men in. That should be checked if you live in the northern hemisphere like we do here in Canada. You are most likely deficient or insufficient vitamin D. Which we're gonNA talk about Unless you're making a concerted effort you're probably not getting enough fiber in getting of potassium. I lump those together because Um high fiber foods also happen to be potassium foods.

"I eat avocado all all the time like literally. I'm always buying the cottle's because he can't have them set or they'll go bad. And it's just part of all the meals that I eat or even my smoothie throwing avocado grass fed butter huge man huge saturated fats which again help with two stone productions specifically peak to saw some productions but grass fed butter not margarine. Not I can't believe it's not margarine not regular butter not Whatever whatever whatever healthy grass fed butter you can get that almost anywhere now? Get that grass fed butter. I put that on everything I could go everything. Love it sweet `tatoes. There's a car that you want to have the car. The carbon is going to have all the Micronesian say details. Perfect tweet potato perfect car. Beets beets are amazing. Another another car. That can drive up or vegetable. I I put my vegetable. I wouldn't eat beets as my car. I would eat that as my bicycle. But here's the thing about beats beats it's also good to decrease estrogen right. I remember I talked about some of the Micronutrient Mahfoud up at that. Thought only two stops from what its minimizing The the the awesome killers like estrogen so beats our great eat eat beats like crazy. Black beans are really good. I don't eat a lot of beans because they're not good for my stomach but the black beans zinc again so say with just awesome productions. Look good food. Pumpkin seeds really good. You don't want a lot of them together. Some food rich zinc white button mushrooms. Another great vegetable that you have tons of muscle there look for the white button. Mushrooms white mushrooms spinach spinach fantastic housing source of magnesium. You can't I can't have enough spinach. I eat it all the time like almost every day spinach salad or I'll grab a bunch of spinach and put it in a pot and just boil it thrown in with my Food Broccoli. Another beautiful You know again Broccoli's one of those one of those foods that will suppress your estrogen right again. which is good right? This is huge journals could increase as we age. We need to decrease at eggs of course whole eggs full fool eggs. Great Cholesterol You know it's not the cholesterol that you have to be concerned with when it comes to heart health so this the good cholesterol that we need for producing testosterone wild caught hot salmon. I in a ton of salmon all the time I actually. It's the Sashimi. All the time but walkout salmon is good yellowfin tuna huge very very very good with Vitamin D.. And we talked about Vitamin D. Get it from the sun you can also get it. From yellowfin. Tuna grass-fed Bison grass fed. Beef in general will give you the B twelve which is good for testosterone zinc which is just offshore on fats. That you can get from that. You're not going to get a lot of facts from grass-fed stuff you can get it from regular Regular regular steak and beef and chickens always good as well but those are kind of like I just throughout those again. I'll have another episode where we just talk about the food so you can really get a feel for what those foods are doing but again those are foods that you you should be eating now some of you may be saying okay well funk listen I eat those foods I have. I have grass fed butter at home. I eat avocados fun. Guy Of grass fed beef. What are you talking about man? I'm still I still have a belly while 'cause there's also foods that are crushing doctoral level. So even though you're eating those foods it's not like a great because I mean these foods. I can eat these foods. No it's don't eat. These foods only eat these foods. And there's a less like I just went through small smallest there's tons of delicious amazing Manley foods so you can eat a taste great. You're not restricting yourself. You're not only eating Broccoli. Chicken right this is but you've got to stay away from these. These are killing or to start increasing your estrogen increasing quarters all again. I'm going to go through these under. Have another separate podcast just talking about the foods to stay away from and why we need to stay away from those so Cheese milk and dairy so this is a big one you know. Milk specifically will increase dairy products account for sixty to eighty percent of total estrogens. Right so we gotta get rid of a lot of a lot of the milk you know you can have like Like the yogurt with protein. What is it called God? I don't even remember small amount of yogurt. You know some cheeses are good. Some fatty cheese is good but a lot of that other cottage cheese and too much milk. That's that's going to boost your to your estrogen levels again so you want to stay away from from milk. We're forty fifty six year old men man. We're not little kids. We don't need milk right Polyunsaturated vegetables salad dressings right so a lot of people say wall. I eat salad funk but I throw a bunch of salad dressing on it. We'll narrow it. Is You know polyunsaturated read vegetables. A Lot that they hide and salad dressings. We need to make our own dressing or use olive oil. flaxseed talk about flax seeds before for a lot of times and when it comes to healthy eating that you all see flax seeds flax seeds. Well that's not healthy for us. Guys right doesn't health healthy for US men. We need to stay away from the flax seeds. There's other hemp seeds that we can use another seeds. But let's stay away from that meant mentors Like peppermint and that sort of thing that that also reduces this is your testosterone those. There's some studies that show that I don't I try to keep people away from mint as much as possible. Not Saying that you gotta say completely but you know if that's gonNA affect my stash and I'm not going to play around with it I'm not GonNa kind of I'm just GonNa stay away from it completely This is the biggest one here. I talked about it before when I started the podcast. It's alcohol men like beer specifically all alcohol but beer one hundred percent beers is an estrogen. Booster like you would think that you know the way they promote beer and the way they market beer. It's all about you know making manly and that sort of thing but man it's it's it's not only this is increased cortisol but it also increases estrogen. So that's why you get the beer belly right. Stay away from beer. Don't drink alcohol until you get to where you WanNa be right entry until you get where you want to be soy products huge man you gotta stay away from soya products soybeans soy milk soy soya. Protein Soya sauce awesome. Like all of that. Get that off that list man get it off that list again. It interacts with our national production. And that's something. We don't want trans. Fats I talked about that before you know. Stay away from the pizzas and the cookies and the crackers and fast foods and in sugar. This is not even a no brainer. Sugar is one of the hardest things to to stop subjective but we gotta get rid of sugar it causes not only cause heart disease and as an increase estrogen kills it to stop thrown mechanically enhanced. hance meat packaged meats You know things that you buy at the you know sausages and Deli meat and some bake and he can still get in that Bacon. You know good good Turkey Bacon. Or what have you but but stay away from that kind of stuff chemically enhanced meat chocolate right and a lot of people have chocolate but of course you know it's it's got too much sugar low testosterone dark chocolate good. But you're not eating a lot of dark chocolate microwave popcorn. That's another one that's has certain cer- Naseeruddin that's found around in the lining it's the lining more than anything right microwave popcorn more but the lining suppresses a saucer and what's the lining in the bag pure floral roar Nat tambioli acid anyways in conclusion to this episode. Let's just get back to why we're here. We're here to help you with your nutrition right. We're here to eat three times a day. Make sure every meal has carbs fats proteins and vegetables on it. If you just to start. Let's start make sure that that you're eating foods that are supporting and staying away from foods and drinks that suppressor to sauce Ron and boosts all the other bad had a hormones that are killing two. Toss Ron right again. Three times a day is a food last. Drink as much water as you can once you start making those changes. You're going to find that your your metabolism is GonNa Increase. Your energy is going to increase. You'RE GONNA lose weight YOU'RE GONNA lose belly fat. You're going to build lean muscle you're GONNA you're you're you're erection in the morning your morning warning woods going to be huge right. You're going to your your your motivation is going to be there like. It's all about the foods we you guys know this. You always know this. People say eighty percent utrition twenty percent workouts i. I'm huge eighty to ninety percent as nutrition. All you did like within a few months back because I had a knee injury. I could not work out so all I had was my nutrition. I focused on attrition ended up losing forty pounds. Forty pounds overweight because of the injury. It's a non story Oriel will get on that another day. It was crazy but I all I did was eat healthy and nutrition and focused on nutrition. I lost weight and still stay. Lean and still say muscular.
