CDC Releases Data Behind Latest Mask Guidelines

"Over new mask guidelines for fully vaccinated people. The CDC is releasing the data behind the policy change. Here's more from Fox's Steve Arrington. We do expect the CDC to publish that data today behind its change in policy when it comes to mask wearing for the fully vaccinated. The CDC has come under tremendous criticism for making its recommendations before making that data public. This debate happens as hospitalizations continue to climb. The CDC puts the average seven day hospitalizations at just over 3500 concerning because that is 32% rise over just one week ago. But in the larger picture, keep in mind that the peak of hospitalizations was back in January, That rate was five times the current rate. Critics have accused the CDC of making a hasty decision about strengthening mask guidelines in some indoor places without the data to support it. The Humane

NFL Sets Stiff Penalties for the Unvaccinated

"Is cracking down to get players to get Covid 19 vaccines Just days before training camps began, All 32 teams got a memo saying outbreaks among unvaccinated players could cause teams to forfeit games. That would be costly for both the teams and players CBS this morning Saturday, co host Dana Jacobson explains Why there's this no nonsense approach. There's Brady's past Grand Kowske. At the end of the 2020 NFL season, the league managed to crown a champion. Getting there wasn't easy. Covid outbreaks among teams forced the league to reschedule several games, which caused logistical and financial headaches. NFL team owners want to have these games played in full and as safely as possible. Jonathan Jones is a CBS sports NFL insider. He says the league hopes to avoid a repeat of last year, which is why it sent a memo to all 32 teams Thursday, warning that if a covid spike on a team postpones again, which can't be rescheduled, the team responsible will have to forfeit shoulder the financial losses and players on both teams won't get paid. The memo upset several league stars like opera wide receiver DeAndre Hopkins, who posted then deleted this tweet being put in a position to hurt my team because I don't want to partake in the vaccine is making me question my future in the NFL. He later posted. I got about nine more years than me. You look at the monetary side of this, and of course, it does not benefit the owners to miss out on any of these games. Jones says The NFL memo is proof that owners don't think enough players are protected. You want to be able to deliver on the entire 17 game schedule and then play a full postseason and deliver Product to all of your fans, all of your media partners, Dr.

NCAA Decision Clears Athletes for Endorsement Deals

"The ncaa as upgraded their policies for students students is ability to profit off their name. Imaging likeness big day for a lot of young athletes and a lot of broke college student athletes around the world so the ncaa board of directors decided on wednesday to officially suspend the organization's rules prohibiting athletes from selling the rights to their names their image and their likeness. These rules really represent a major shift in the association's kind of definition of amateurism and how they've defined these college athletes thus far and saying they're amateurs saying they're getting an education and that's enough to get a few shoes in the mail they get a few pairs of nikes. They get some sweats. They get some sweatshirts in that. Should that should cover it. But the jigs up nca. I mean. i mean. I just can't believe they've really been able to do this for so long. I mean it's it's a shift that nca leaders really kind of previously believed that this was going to harm the whole world of college sports but at some point it's it's it's unpaid labor at truly is and i think the biggest thing that needs to be understood is just how how the ncaa has been able to do this for so long

Having Hard Talks Are Easy

"We are gonna talk about having the hard talks and this is probably the most or the least. I should say the most least favorite thing A leader can do or wants to do yet. It's the thing that drives you crazy. The most is people not doing the behaviors you need to do. And so let's just start with stop paying a prepayment penalty on development because when you don't address issues and have the hard talk. That's what you're really doing you. You wanna get your team to certain place and be successful of horse but when you're not addressing some of these behaviors especially the hard behaviors of what they're not doing or how they're annoying people. Maybe you're most productive person on the team. You don't wanna disrupt the workflow you really paying prepayment penalty on develop in other words. You're not getting where you really wanna get with a team. You're willing to sacrifice allowing some of these behaviors to go on to get what you want. So why are these talks so hard to have in. One of the reasons is yourself as the leader. It is not so much most leaders. Just wanna be light but the don't want to be dislike either and that's a different thing when you're going out of your way to just be light and just doing things for people that is not the same as not being hated being tolerated being respected We don't wanna go there. We don't wanna be the hammer yet. The behaviors that are happening are the things that are really holding your team back. Maybe even holding that person back so the question is. Are you really leading without having hard talks because the reality is whatever behaviors that is allowed to occur that is allowed to continue. That's what's really in charge. You might think you're in charge. You may kinda semi sorta address things and thank. You made some headway unless you've really had those talks you really set those boundaries. It's what you're allowing to occur in charge. What the team knows to be true about what's going on in the environment. So you've got to start having those talks and really setting those boundaries in protecting

"Next up. We'll get the undertaker. Shane mcmahon and helena sale match I love that. Shane got to do the entrance with his kids. You could tell it was meant a lot to the whole mcmahon family of course the undertaker's his domain and the in the cell match. They get plenty of time. Thirty minutes meltzer. Well he hated it. He says the work of the match was pretty bad. Undertaker looked out of shape. Shane looked in shape and he can do cool things and move great for his age considering his level of training in the ring time he did really well. But that's really not an excuse to go thirty minutes so he's pretty critical of it. We know that this is all set up for an and people were even joking ahead of time. Hey shane's just looking to jump off something he's gonna jump off the scoreboard over the fifty yard line instead. It is a big bump off the helena sale through a table They added some some some safety elements to that Some magic if you will but when it's all said and done undertaker hits the tombstone piledriver and pinson meltzer would say it went way too long in the first twenty. Five minutes were bad. Except for the gimmick spots two and a half stars. This has to be a nightmare. If you're an agent. i. I didn't ask if you're an agent for this match. I'd love to hear who was but you've got the undertaker. No going to tell him what to do. And you've got shane mcmahon. Nobody's gonna tell him what to do. So hey what are you guys wanna do. And then now. We're going to do that but it's probably hard to go the either one of these guys and say now. I can't do that guy to do this right like a fool. If you did right They pretty much had carte blanche it was. You know michael hayes production. I'm sure Be honest with you. Even though it wouldn't be my responsibility or my fault. I would feel like it was if something happened to shane on that dissent from the top of the cage and he did get hurt bad. I would feel responsible being the agent sitting in the chair. Even though that's ridiculous it just the danger involved in that. I don't think they understand what he did that night. Right what makes foley did when he went off the top of that cage. If you're a wrestling fan you're looking to idolize somebody for doing something special for you as a fan. Its those two guys because you wanna got me up there for any amount of money it is. It is literally a stott that is hollywood worthy of any action thriller. You've ever say but it's it's real. It's a hell of a ball. And the fact that gimmick the table a little bit so that it would you know. Blow up properly and all that okay. Well it's not like there was a rehearsal how about this. You still got a half sack enough to climb up there and jump off. I donate like arne andersen. Conrad thompson are doing this yet. So kudos to him. You damn right and For what they did for the company what they did for the business and And for the fans you know my hat will eternally be off to those guys. Gossett is way beyond. My only thing is and i'm just begging once that happens. Drag the guy in the rain. Age s covering i agree. Don't do a move dodo wrestling. Move anything you're gonna do psychotic tombstone s really need it right at least make some sense out of that. And i thought the match. It'd be in the undertaker shane. Being apart tampa part time guy not really recognized as a full time wrestler. Just coming back. I think it was probably too competitive for too long. Could have been way way way. Shorter undertaker would have been proven. Appoint this match. It just felt like it went. He should change and be able to compete with the undertaker for that length of time. If you're looking at reality a wrestling character. If you know what. I'm saying next up. We'll get bearing corbin winning the andre the giant battle royal in nine minutes and forty one seconds smeltzer would say the first two and a half minutes. We're all about shack and big show. Shack looked monstrous two inches taller than show. He looked wider and bigger. This is directly from the observer. Although big show was fatter it killed shows. World's largest athlete jamaica shack looked so much bigger than him. They did a staredown. Cain tries to break it up. They both choke slam him then. Everyone starts beating on both in opposite corners show through half the roster away and shack through the half away. Gordon came in from behind cain and threw him over at nine forty one. At least they used the battle royal to try and make a new star in his debut star and a half. It is interesting that all anyone really remembers from this shack versus big show. I'd kinda forgotten that bear in one ness but having shack in a ring at wrestlemania is something that vincent man had wanted to do for a long time and it finally happened here. Monday morning quarterback again. Can we do that. Please number one. Everybody doesn't know who every piece of talent that we have on the roster guys don't get a lot of tv number of reasons hadn't been on tv for a while what what whatever the reasons are to send out all those guys twenty five guys or however many. It was in mass. It looks just like a cluster. Nobody has a a moment. They're even having an interest if you would have had less. Just say big show have an entrance. And let's just say cain that an entrance and the new guy barron corbin had an entrance. A you at least had those like the big guys. This is a big guy vet Andrei battle royal. Here's here's some of your big guys that are going to be in this thing just to wear you put some emphasis on. They have an advantage. Mata helps and having other than having show in and shat which was a huge deal having shack in that rain and he was. Betty did stack up tom which show. He's a huge guy. But let's just say we went the other way and you whittled it down to being a little bit shorter since we got eight hours of show left to go right. What if those two monster's cleaned house and got rid of everybody but baron and kane. Then they locked up with just four guys left. They get into their fight. Here comes bearing their teeter totter and by the ropes and kane and they saw those two guys out and ride on the hills of that. Barron dumps cane. Now you got it down to four guys that i can't predict who's gonna go over. I would probably say the way we do business. I would even looked at shack going over as a i agree totally. I would have thought the same thing it just has. It's a big moment on the certainly cain. When wouldn't shock to anybody but now you have that moment would just four guys left and it's a lot more drama once you get them out early take away. Some of the drama thanks again. S monday morning. Quarterbacking just wanted to take a second to remind you of all the great shirts available in orange shirts dot com and all the orange show gimmicks over boxy gimmicks dot com. Is dad coming in. The ring was a real moment and You can seal sack face. he's gone. cheese staggered. Get out of here. I don't think he's supposed to be in the rain But it was a it was a feel good moment when when a nice kid who's done all the right things finally gets his do. We were all happy for big match coming up next. Chris jericho pens. Aj styles and seventeen minutes and seven seconds. Got to be a big moment in aj's career. He just debuted with the company. This is his first wrestlemainia and he could have been thrown in a man match instead. It's a feature match with chris jericho they get plenty of time to seventeen minutes. Seven seconds styles gets a near fall with a springboard for fifty. It goes for a springboard moon salt but jerko pushes the raffin. This path styles has to change his trajectory but he winds up landing right into a codebreaker for the pin pretty spectacular. Finish three and three quarter stars. What'd you think. Well i mean. You can't go wrong with putting chris jericho over and a wrestlemainia match against anybody. I don't think anybody's gonna look at you and go. Why did you do that. I would venture to say if you backed all the way up to the royal rumble. What if aj. And i think that was our first sighting of him. Correct right right through all rumble and we talked about this when we did that particular show. What if he would went over right and it. Was you just temporarily for just. A moment moved. Roman out of that spot because now. Aj styles on his inaugural Introduction to wwe he wins the royal rumble. He goes out. What if he would have beat triple h for that championship and gave him another four five six weeks to get engrained in people's in all Psyche and okay find out who this guy is or what he can do and all those things if you just took roman putting aside for a second and let. Aj get over to say summer slam. Hugh how hot. He would have been a summer slam now. You have roman reigns challenge. The new got the hot The new baby fix aj styles in. Screw him out of it now. The next day he he'll make himself whole he didn't need that way as much as i think. Aj style could've used it. Do you think this is a case of vince. Wanting to see let's beat him. See how he reacts. Of course of course not the fact that you slow down his progress and the ability to help the company. I never saw anybody car. i mean. it's make a statement put in parentheses. Put an asterik. But i never saw anybody in the history of my time in this business. That lost his way into getting over. Right name one. I can't any historians out there. Name one and i will gladly bow my head and go. I stand corrected. You have to win. You have to get momentum and you have to be in some wars you have to earn your way and you have to beat some guys that you're not supposed to be typically in a position to draw money and all this did was stall. Aj styles. Thank you know who who i think. A lot of people would say as good as there is. It can be a little frustrating. "Next up we've got The team total divas which is alicia fox. Pre bella paged talia. Anne marie taking on team bad in blind. Which is lana summary. Naomi to main and emma get eleven minutes twenty three seconds team. Total divas pick up the win. It gets to two and a quarter stars. meltzer would say for total divas. They had nikki still wearing a neck after surgery. Running out to celebrate with brie says it was her retirement. Obviously breeze going to have to get the win. It's her retirement match. I shouldn't say obviously but it's being filmed for tv so there's more to it than just the wrassling component. It's also a television show. What do you remember if this match well served a couple of masters you know. They wanted number one. Kevin don's name was on the executive producer for the davis show right. I didn't know that go back and look at a. It's a very important fact that you know because when you look at the shows week to week you know his name is on it. They have a say in what goes on. I think you could look at that. Go a couple of ways okay. It's breeze last match. you know. why does she need to. What's wrong when it went a talent as giving you you know pretty much everything they have however many days a year up very you know the girls have to you know. Get up early in the morning. Do a lot of radio and a lot of tv. There's a hot commodity out there in the world. People want to see him and It's it's hard on the girls. You know the guys to show up. They don't have to worry about hair and makeup and all that stuff and the roads rough on and you know they always show up professionally on her retire match you know. I thought it was a good call to have her winner last match and bring her sister down. They are twins they are close as you can get and here's a feel good moment. It is a feel good moment I'm sure we'll we'll talk more brie. Bella nikki bella talked a lot about nikki bella but brie bella certainly a huge star in her own right next up. We get leader Doing an interview saying how they're changing the name of the title to the wb women's title and then she puts over the three women wrestling for the title later. And she says how they're much more than divas their superstars probably a little bit late to the game here for like this was a long overdue but man bergamo show everybody what they're capable of here in just a little bit aren't they. You bet they are and you know we honest with you. I heard the stories. I never got a chance to You know seeing them work. That much And i'm talking about charlotte. Becky and sasha and i never saw him in a match all at the same time and Seeing it for the first time it just took my breath just how good these girls were and on this particular day. It wouldn't have bothered me to see anyone of the three win. There wasn't a letdown. There wouldn't have been a negative to any one of those girls. Wear it. And i think the audience would've accepted it just as much and you know and i'll just say this you know a lot of times we do stuff Just to be doing it without thinking ahead in down the road and you know Like charlotte doesn't have enough trouble being rich ric flair daughter. You know there's there's always that having to live in the shadow well maybe and in this case no. She has never needed rick to get over. Rick has never needed a rub from her to stay over there. Individuals that are you know. Are there over and to bring rick down to get him. All in that match. I thought was not necessary. He could have certainly been in the back watching on a monitor. If you wanted to see him he could matter halfway down the ramp coming back and congratulated her but to get him involved in that match. Just took just a little bit of luster away from it. And i know the audience always wants to see rick. That would have been fine. Just don't involve him in the match. I just don't think it added anything. Let's talk a little bit about the next match here. we've got The usos beating the dudley's and five minutes and eighteen seconds meltzer gives it a star and a half and says there's not much to it. Jay would pinned yvonne with superkick after the match. The dudley's jump the usos lay them out and get the tables. The announcers push that they're hypocrites. Since they vowed no more tables they went to power bomb each usa thorough table but the usos blocked it and gave Jay gave allen a super kick at the same time that jimmy gave bubba superkick. They put the dudley's on the tables. Come off the top and go through the table so star and a half you know. I think you could be critical of this. I i grew up. Big dudley's fan. I was excited to see him. Come back. I understand the nature of This type of thing is well. We're going to be here to sort of Put over the younger teams in the younger talent. I get that but now the young guys not only go over the older guys but they take advantage of them with their own gimmick. That's that's a little much should be like. If somebody was beating you with a spinebuster what did you think of that. Never been a fan of that. Yeah i don't like guys doing other guys finishes to them. Never been a fan of that. I think you could have got to use those over and left it there You really and again. You're talking about doing stuff earlier in the night. You got a lot of match still to go you you got a long show ahead of you if you do too much early. And that's all exhausted. There's something business. We call poppin crowd out. They could pop pop. pop ended. Appoint they get tired and they just had. They're tired if you do a lot of that stuff early Before the main event you gotta wore out crowd and that's something that that you don't want and that's the reason you try to taper your show least a most and not put a lot of that stuff. Even though the honors chanting tables doesn't mean they get it every time let's Let's talk about the next match year. It's zack ryder. Winning the intercontinental title in a seven way ladder. match with kevin owens. Sammy zane the ms sing. Kara dolph ziggler stardust. Really cool moment here in the match where stardust pulls out A ladder. That had polka dots on it. And of course cody's paying tribute to his dad. Here i dug it. I love the idea that the fans absolutely hate the idea of miz winning. And they're just booing him like nobody's business and then rider gets up there and grabs the bell and it is a legitimate celebration. I mean this is one of the forgotten. Great ladder matches because everyone at home and in the stadium was pulling zack. Ryder who had been positioned as an underdog. A guy who the company is you like to say. Cut his water off. And then there's a big moment where he gets to celebrate in the ring with his dad. After the match. I think afterwards on social media even posted a picture of himself as a little kid Posing with razor ramon when razor was the intercontinental champion and now there's a picture of him posing with a full grown scott hall and a and a full grown zack. ryder and now writer is the intercontinental champion. This is awesome shit and it lasts for exactly twenty four hours. He loses it the next day but cool moment meltzer doug it to he gave it four and a quarter stars really special ladder match here when you agree you know who more importantly who really dug it. Almost an almost say almost every piece of talent in that match. Yeah when the word got out who they wanted to go over. Almost everybody was thrilled. It just energize the room. I heard it from the talent themselves. Everybody was onboard because now sack rider. It looks like a million dollars. He's a nice kid. He's on time works as ass off is a good worker. Went on social media and during the time when it was said go grab the brass ring. He went and grabbed it and just got his ass in a slain for his trouble. He did all the right things anyways finally going to get his. Do my gut just left at own him for a month right.

"That's what the hall of fame became. I think let's talk about the hall of fame class here. Staying on top What a worthy main event guy To to be in this hall of fame class you go back to almost darn near the very beginning his career. What'd you think of staying finally getting in Thought it was way overdue Was a guy that was a loyal to one company and much like shawn. Michaels never left wwf e staying never left wcw. He was always there ready to ready to work and work his ass off he He basically was the figure and the face of wcw the entire time he was there and i thought it was very overdue and very deserving plus. He's just steve. Board in is a pro and a nice guy and and all the things that you're happy for a person when they are all those things to get a accolade like that we also see the former big boss man old ray traylor go in You were a part of jim. Crockett promotions when he first breaks in as an enhancement. Guy dusty something with him puts them with the midnight express and jim cordet but he really gold when he went. North joined vincent man and now he's had lining madison square garden in boston. Garden taken superplex from hulk hogan off the oh big blue cage. The big boss man was a staple of the first major ruin of the wwf. And hey finally got in here unfortunately posthumously any good ray traylor stories. You could share with us Number one ray was born and raised. Probably about thirty miles out in paul county georgia from where i was raised in rome georgia. Well that's just what a small world it is and from day one. You could just tell ray. Rae had to be three hundred sixty pounds right and he moved across. That ring smooth is two hundred pounder. You just knew rot away. The guy had talent any it was just. He's one of those guys that was just a natural. Nobody that size is supposed to move lackey and get up and down like he did any strong as an ox and he was a pro and they knew from day one it was a business and he conducted himself like a businessman. And i loved. I would venture to say everybody loved ray trailer. Another name on the list here The fabulous free birds. You and i have Spent our fair share of time with michael. Psa's what a character. He was a mental onto michael to get in and to be able to do this speech and run around with this pal and sing the free birdsong bad street. Usa this was a moment not. Yeah well i. That whole ceremony is tailor. Made for michael hayes. Yeah you can wear a very expensive gaudy suit absolutely atrocious. Some pair of go to hell socks and shoes and some pam pat and just go out ed and just show his ass away with it because it's acceptable. Yeah so you know we those of us that have that. No that's really michael. That's not michael up there just forming right. That's who he is. He is probably most of every day to this very day for that matter. So certainly the free birds were transcending. They were Credible acts the three of those guys. We you get guys that fit that well in their thinking and their job description and they all blend in there and they had a hell of a rod and it was very fitting that they would be in the hall of all of fame for sure we got see. Stan hansen get Put into the hall of fame. To invader was the guy induct him of course these days myself and a lot of other fans. You're up big. Wcw fans or help invader gets his day in the sun sooner rather than later Any good stan hansen memories. We've always heard he was blind as a bat and He might whip your ass. But not intentionally stan was a was a great guy. He was also probably three hundred and twenty pounds and in the best cardio shape of any guy you will ever see. You cannot blow him up. You cannot get him tired. You cannot slow him down. And that's probably from all those years of of wrestling in japan. Coast buddy over there. It's a fistfight. Every night. And i had the opportunity When i was with wcw to be partners withstand a few times. I was only opposing team from stand a couple of times and to see him standing across that ranks quit. You're pulling up that rubber thing. They were on his arm was about as bad nightmares. You could possibly ever have But yeah man. He's definitely a hall of famer. That's for sure..

"It does not say though that we wrestle with man and man's opinions but we're wrestling against the the devil were were fighting against the devil. He is out to kill still and destroy us. People are not our enemy. The devil is our enemy and we need to be fully woke to that and fully aware of that and fully loving people even when we disagree with them even when we don't see eye to eye with them even when they might come at us with hate or they might just cancel us. We still need to love them and realize the real enemy is the devil. I think circle back. I know i said earlier. It's it's easy to get into this idea of. What do people think of me. What do people think of this action. That i'm taking. And i think go along with the little bit of what you're saying about being bold as lions etc. I think we also need to be wise to i. Just think about the yes. There's the cancel culture that we've talked about but just thinking about how in in history of people who have been bold as lions or they wanna think that they are being bold as lions in how it is. Hurt them or people around them. Because they're really. It's almost like like. I was saying in in a similar way but on a larger scale of me being bolden trying to stick it to the school rules. You know of where someone being bolden china. Stick it to well. I don't know if i want to name but l. name it because i guess i don't care what people are gonna say. I think the people listening are gonna probably agree with me. But if you think about a church that's been prominent in our recent history westboro baptist church and how they've been bold about things that they believe are true in right and righteous and things like that of how that makes all of christians look when i believe what they have shown in. Recent history has not been very christ. Like i'm saying like across the board the different things that they've done in the condemnation that they've put on people so i think there's some using wisdom of what is being bold as a lion and like what is true. And what are you know what you believe. Even not saying something that trish does is going to affect all of the kirsten's or whatever i'm saying in general you know like you have to be wise about what you're trying to be bold about.

"Jesus well like something. I pray over myself all the time in my children and my husband is that we can be a beautiful reflection of jesus and that we can reflect him well and so at a certain capacity. We do care what people think of us but then at the same time in other tension of it is we. Don't wanna care what people think of us. We only want to live for the approval of god and the bible says the righteous are as bold as lions and the wicked flee when nobody pursues them. What i've been practicing over in my mind is what does that mean in this day and age. We're living in. What does it mean to be as bold as a lion. And what does it mean when the bible says to be wise as serpents as harmless as a dove. What does that mean. And what does that mean. And how can i apply that into my life. How can i be as bold as a lion with things that god is telling me but yet as harmless as dove. And how do i love others. Well and how do. I inspire others to want to serve the lord. And how do i. Because the bible says the goodness of god leans bender repentance. And i don't know about you guys. But for me in particular. When i've had people come after me with the word of god or i've had people come at me with condemnation and judgment if anything that has caused me to want to walk away from god or has caused me to onto rebel in and not do what these they actually do. The exact opposite and so it's always been in my life the goodness of god. That leads me to repentance. It's always been in my life the conviction of the holy spirit. I do want to say. I try to receive if somebody comes up to me with a confrontation and says hey trish. I really feel like you're missing this in your life or this is where i feel like. You're an error. I try to receive that with as much love. In grace's i possibly can from that person. And hopefully it wasn't a condemning thing. Hopefully it was just a correction and hopefully the holy spirit can work me over with that because a lot of times. What i've noticed is when people have done that in it's been a very accurate thing in my life it has been also something the holy spirit's already been working in me. I don't i think the holy spirit is kind of gentlemen in the way that he doesn't knock you off your feet and he's not gonna use somebody else to bring correction your life where he hasn't already tried to end so we have to guard our hearts. The bible talks about guarding your hearts and the devil prowls around like a roaring lion seeking from who he can devour seeking people who are leaving their hearts open for display leading the world. Tell them what to think in the world. Tom how to feel letting other people tell them. All these things and the the devil loves it. When we as the body of christ allowed the world to tell us and judge us and condemn us and allow each other to judge and condemn versus allowing god to be the one who does that the bible does. We've room for christians to judge and hold each other accountable and that's not what we're talking about here today. But we're talking about is the bible says that we wrestle not with flesh and blood but against principalities powers against rulers of darkness and against spiritual wickedness and high places..

"And i'll say this church has had it happened to. But we've both had instances where we've let people in and we thought we were good friends with someone and not that they stabbed us in the back but it was just like all the sudden something changed and maybe they didn't agree with something. Maybe we called them out on something that we didn't agree with because we were trying to be real and honest with them or maybe They moved away and we just fell out of touch or whatever and then maybe you see them down the road and it's just not the same versus there are people in my life. I know like. I could probably just reconnect with even if i haven't seen them in years but there's just that that ocean poll you know trying to find that that balance of power. Can i be with somebody. Because are they truly going to be a part of my life or not. Do i wanna put in that effort you know. What are they gonna think or do. I live in kind of facade of a surface level. not really let them in etc. Because i don't know what they're going to think. And i gotta say my formative years just kind of assign those probably one of my favorite songs in high school was jesus freak bites seatac and i was in.

"Time when people didn't start conversations with how are you holding up? During those innocent days we started with the weather is minus forty last week minus forty my front door froze shot I had to use a hairdryer to get out of the house. Vivian lives in Canada while I'm always happy to talk about Canada white horses. Beautiful. I once had an opportunity to go there. It's not the reason why we're here. Vivians, reach out to talk about something that happened twenty five years ago that she still has questions about. The death of Arkell Elliott I grew up in Winnipeg. There's nothing that sexy about Winnipeg and my uncle it was like he just like breezed in off of a film set. Like you're this black leather jacket is like tight jeans me smoked cigarettes and he just emanated coolness. I don't really know how other to say then. P. diddy add this swagger. Elliott lived in New York City he was a journalist and had friends who were artists and writers. He gave Vivian her very first journal which he still carries around to this day. In vivians memory, there was a lightness about Elliott. Everything was always for a laugh like the time they were back visiting their family in Brazil and Elliot had Vivian and our brother full dozens of paper airplanes. He was staying on the ninth or tenth floor of this apartment building and. He was like this really beautiful sunny day and we like walked out. Onto the balcony and just like shot. Affleck. Hundred of these airplanes into the into the sunshine..

"I would think i was so tough and then like one of their friends would like run into me your <hes> ah you know 'cause they're rough and tumble. I would get hurt and start crying and want my mom and then it became very clear that we're not equal in that way only because i was also a lot younger than everybody so i was constantly annoying. My brothers price was pretty good. My oldest brother was pretty good about including me like like oh my god. All of his girlfriends in highschool must have been like so annoyed because i would literally sit in between them like on dates search or if they would come over to watch movies. I was right there with them and i'm sure those girls are like kid sister out of here but the prize was so good about including me jail on the other hand was like tease me a lot and he and i would physically fight. I think maybe 'cause we were closer in age. I have a scar on my forehead from his fingernail digging into my head. I will say though if you're a girl and you had boys in your very tough 'cause i would get punch kick. We'd wrestle. Oh i remember going. My best friend had a younger brother bowen ever. I would go to her house to play. He will beat us up. It's not fun doing what's happening. We'd like to try and go downstairs away from him and he'd aid break down the basement door and come beat us. Yeah boys are different because you grew up in with just you and your sister's masculine energy yeah. No we'd be like playing barbies each other's face. No boys are just like very rambunctious and i remember number. One of my best friends had a it was just her and her sister and when they would fight they would like hannah lightly. Smack each other's hand or something and they'd be like you suck. No you suck on my this is how you find and i would die. I would literally bowl over laughing seeing them like quote. Quote unquote wrestle each other. They barely touch each other. I'm like my brother would give me like a bloody lip like he was war her with two brothers and so. I don't think i stood a chance but i always wanted a sister. I felt like if i had a sister we we would be close and like it's not like i wanted to of course you know have a tea party and in the like in wanted t in some aforten's cookie no i just as i got older. I just saw the neat relationships that sisters tended to have they they would be like my brothers are very close and i feel like a lot of sisters really close. They talk more when it's like same sex siblings right well growing up. I fell a little bit like your brothers. My sisters ruling three years younger than i am but i felt like she was a burden. Sometimes it was like she would always wanna play with me. When i have a friend over. Oh why do we have to play with her to mom and and we felt like we were so old and so cool and she was like the baby by she just wanted to be included so bad yeah the and i just think yeah with siblings. Sometimes it is different but it was nice to have a sister. We did have a lot in common. We played together a lot and had a a lot of fun to my parents like to dress up a liked. Those how would you like. We are not twins down yeah matching dresses as well as you were both girls. My parents knew you're my brother's. Hand me downs. Maybe that's what influenced your current style. Maybe genes in baggy button up shirts t shirts. I think it's also interesting when one of your siblings is significantly older like price was because he was the one who taught me how to play sports and stuff. He was the one that was like hey do you wanna go in the yard and play catch and he'd give me pointers or we'd we play soccer and i don't i mean maybe that was just my particular brother. That was really good about that but i felt like when they're that much older they can kind of look at you in a way that where they feel since of like responsibility towards you whereas when you're closer age they're just like us screw so i just i just wanted to do anything. Price did anything if he was. I mean i started playing tennis. The most ran of sport because price did i would <unk> always want to be like him and one of the sweetest things price ever did for me is when he went to college <hes> i was so uh-huh devastated because he and i were really close and it felt like you know your dad like kind of like your dad was leaving a had my dad but he was was a father like figure as well and <hes> he left for college and my parents happen to be divorcing that summer so he knew there was a lot of changes happening for me. I was only twelve and i was so sad. When he dropped off at school. I was like bawling and so he would i mean he was eighteen years old and he would have girls from his college like write me letters like checking on me and being like colleges cooler alert like at one day and i just thought that was like the nicest thing to for an eighteen year old to do like i don't know many eighteen year olds who i would think to look out for their little sibling in that way and that just always kinda stuck with me when i think about price anyway more about siblings things after the break gravitas.

She doesn't have a bathing suit though so she went full outfit which sean listen if there's a pool and you don't have a bathing suit nothing wrong with going full outfit i mean i myself where sweatpants when i swim so must run in my family. I wanted to run something by euro. Quick jacks so i was on our sincerely fortune facebook fan page and i called everybody. I said hello my fortune. I said hello fortunes cookies goes. I was really delirious from being on the road and i don't know why that made me laugh. It really tickled me calling them. Fortunes cookies and i said what are you guys think of this nickname and they seemed into it okay. What do you think hey anything with. Cookies works for me. Do you want the have jet like jaksa. Something jackson says joker no that's not. What do you think your people would be called because there are a lot the people that have been emailing lately like <hes> jackson traveled hips are so good and they've been you know they like your point of view you a lot of things so they would want a name. Jackson says what about wacky jack sers astor's. Maybe we need. Maybe we need. I need some help okay. If you guessing of fun names for for people that are gay jackson like part of her crew. I mean we're all crew you guys but specifically if you're listening to travel apple tips episode and you're all i'm feeling jackson's tips you would refer to yourself as a wacky wacky jack sir but if you have have a different name put it on the fan page. Let us know i'm gonna stick with fortune cookies for right now. Unless you guys think of a different title oh you know heather mcdonald who was on the podcasts. She heard podcast is called juicy scoop so they all refer to themselves as juicy scoopers but sincerely four yes yeah. We didn't really think that through so we're going to come up with some names and you guys are going to help us and then we're going to have a crew. That's right you guys but today's topic came to mind because jax was talking to her sister always again and it made me think think of siblings and what it was like growing up with siblings what that relationship evolves into and what it is now now in current day times. Jack's has a sister. That's her only sibling. I have two older brothers. <hes> some people out there are only children and uh listen. You probably had an imaginary friend. That was your sibling so <hes> yes so today's on siblings some of you. Might it really love your siblings. Some of you are lukewarm towards your siblings. Some of you might just downright not like your siblings siblings. There's many different types of relationships. Some people may have chosen siblings right. There's also yes friends that are like siblings things we were also talking to one of our good friends about her siblings and it was fascinating to me how you can grow up in the same house with people people you have the same parents similar experiences and end up completely different humans in that bonkers. I it is but not that surprising. I feel like you're very different than your brothers and i'm very different than my sister so we've seen it firsthand dan so would that be more like. I guess it's l. Nature versus nurture thing. Where is this just how we were born or jackson tonight just born awesome and we we took all the awesome and our siblings are awesome in their own way special to your very special. They're just different from us. Yes and sometimes. I think that birth order effects things because even though you grew up in the same household with the same parents i definitely think parents sometimes treat kids after they've had their first differently yeah yeah chill out a little bit and so you're the oldest and i'm the youngest so what what would you describe it being like as the oldest us and then i'll tell you what it was like being the youngest i mean as the all this child. I was perfect so i would imagine it wasn't easy to follow. I know but i do think i mean i was a bit of a perfectionist growing up and i think sometimes when in siblings follow teachers have expectations they expect you your sibling to have similar characteristics to you. Always the case like if you you were great math student right here comes their sibling. They also must be awesome at math exactly and my sister and i were very different. Kids leads. I was a nerd and very into school and reading and books and she would hyperventilate if she went into a bookstore bookstore she that much yes. Oh wow she thought school was a social place like she had a million friends and loved to just go to school. The hang out where i was ah little bollworm the good unto shoes when i was talking to a dad who has twins and he was saying that they went to kindergarten together but then they decided to separate them in first grade and that he found during parent teacher conferences at the teacher was constantly when they we're in class together constantly comparing to lake so on her report card. Even it was like well you know she's not quite doing as well as her sister in this or whatever ever and he decided which i as a teacher agree sometimes it is hard harder for a lot of people to not compare when they're in the same class in in my experience most of the time it's worked out better when they've separated the twins because they're still gonna live together and have all this time bond and at recess sasser launch but just having their own set of friends in their own identity. I think really helps especially when they're identical yeah for sure you're looking at yourself in a mirror <hes> and because there are so many different ways you can excel y- but i think sometimes people have their own biases think is success s. and it can be a crutch to 'cause. They're like oh arnie. How my friend here yet. I don't need to put myself out there and meet other kids and thing like that so if you have twins as an interesting wanted. I'd never thought about <hes> sure now with you being the oldest. Do you think that <hes> you sort of established the uh. I don't know what you'd call it the rules of the house. Do you think that your sister had to follow the same protocols that you did or was it completely separate. I mean we're just very different. People like from birth were very different. Babies different toddlers. I've always been quiet. Eh in shy and she was outgoing like as soon as she could talk you know no one was a stranger and to this day. It's like that yeah well. I was the youngest. The baby of the family and i feel like the babies of the family. Get i dunno misperceived. What's is the right word as being like coddled and and everything's easier for them and they get which is true. There are some things that that were easier for me because you know especially if you have two siblings by the time they get to you. Your parents are just like whatever do whatever you want. I'm tired and what was the age difference between you and your older brother about seven years so there was a significant gap so there were times when he almost fill a more of a father especially as he got older but when we were really young <hes> he he got all the rules like my parents were super restrict. They were like okay. We're gonna you know have this traditional family. You're gonna have a curfew no girls in the house. You know when we're not home. Definitely no girls in your bedroom. That's a huge no no. He had all these things that he had to do and so he had it pretty strict. My other brother was three years younger than him once price. My oldest brother went off to college then j. gonna they did whatever he wanted and the rules is like completely went out the window because he basis like those rules are dumb. I'm gonna do what i want and i was just kind of like <hes> okay. I didn't know what to do but my parents were. They would look out for me for sure but by the time i got to who their ages everybody was so tired of life and there was like literally i had not one rule that can be good and bad. I i mean like not having any rules didn't make me want to rebel so i guess in that way it was good. I was like oh. I have all the freedom in the world who cares i don't need to test s. boundaries in any way but yeah so but being the youngest i do feel like once i got older like you just sort of have to fin fin for yourself and so we're a bit more resilient than people give credit for and as a young as i would like soobee praise as for that no no lord hitting no. She's not kidding. I live with her. She's not we do like attention. Attention that is <hes> often times a trait of the youngest child and that is because we were often ignored being the youngest. The lord said the youngest also get no more anyway having siblings as what was your relationship like with your siblings when you were a kid. I wanted to do everything that my brothers did 'cause. I all the kids in our our neighborhood were boys. There were no girls at all so if you wanted to play if you wanted to go do things. 'cause you know this was back before everyone one had all this technology. So we spent all day outside. You would always play outside and my brothers would go to their friends. Houses else's and i would be like so devastated if it wasn't included and so they always had <hes> here's my sister and so i would just kind of sit around and watch them all like play occasionally they would let me join in on like <hes> hiding seger there was there's some some game where like prison break or something where you hide and i don't know <hes> but the thing is i wanted the to be equal to all of them like one of the guys.
