"West Virginia pulled off an upset by withstanding a furious rally by auburn in an 80 77 victory over the 15th ranked tigers. Eric Stevenson led the mountaineers with a career high 31 points. Some game time, but just hasn't been dropping for me, and I feel like, you know, it's really been taking a toll on me, you know, because it's my job to help the team in any way I can. And, you know, they were allowed me to score and if I'm not scoring and hurting the team. He also had three, three pointers by halftime, helping wvu take a 45, 29 lead into the break. The tigers never led in falling to 16 and 5. Auburn's top two scores, Wendell green junior and Johnny broome combined for just three points by halftime. I'm Dave ferry.

Memphis anticipates release of video in Tyre Nichols' arrest

"The federal government's preparing for the possibility of protests becoming violent after the release of the police videos that show the fatal beating of a black motorist in Memphis this month. FBI director Christopher wray. What happened in Memphis is obviously tragic. I've seen the video myself and I will tell you I was appalled. He says the FBI is ready to help with any demonstrations that turn violent. All of our field offices have been alerted to work closely with their state and local partners, including a particular course in Memphis. Attorney general Merrick Garland calls for calm when people see the images of the 29 year old FedEx worker Tyree Nichols being beaten and shocked and assault by 5 police officers, which led to murder charges. We urged that they be peaceful and nonviolent. A number of community events in Memphis have been canceled for the weekend. I'm Jackie Quinn

Caller: There Won't Be As Many Protests

"How are you doing, Mike? You look great on the Salem news channel. Thank you very much. All right. All right, now I will give the Memphis authorities credit for wanting to make sure that there's no riots or any going on in their cities. I would daresay that there probably won't be as much riots or protesting in such over this incident versus past incidents for this main reason. The victim was black obviously, but the cops were black, right. If the cops who did this to this 29 year old man were white, they would have already been riots and protests and all sorts of things going on across the country. They wouldn't want to have to wait for a video to repeat released. It would have happened already. And the truth of the matter is if there is any violence in Memphis or Atlanta or anywhere else in the country, it will prove that the effort to smear police officers and to disparage law enforcement, Trump's racial unrest or racial conflict. And we'll wait and see. I'm praying that there is no violence, but I'm praying always for a peaceful reaction. Peaceful protest is something we should all champion. Burning down a Wendy's because of a police shooting or some police action should not be supported in any way, shape or form and reasonable people know that.

FOX News: Authorities Warn Tyre Nichols Video 'Will Be Hard to Watch'

"The police chief who has seen the video says it defies humanity. It's heartbreaking. Here's a report from Fox News channel sharing the details of all of these events that led to the death of 29 year old Tyree Nichols. Hours from now Memphis police are expected to release body cam footage from the night of Tyree Nichols death and authorities are warning that video will be hard to watch now. This all started on January 7th when the 29 year old was pulled over by Memphis police on suspicion of reckless driving. What we're about to play here is a recording from the police scanner from part of the confrontation. Listen. We got one more big run. Pull over. He's running around. We have one running on foot. He's fighting at this time. The nickels families legal team has seen the footage and they say it shows the 5 officers beating Tyree for three minutes. He died in the hospital three days after the incident. Now, cities across the nation are bracing anticipating the tape could trigger civil unrest with the methodist police chief giving this morning. This is not just a professional failing. This is a failing of basic humanity toward another individual. This incident was heinous, reckless, and inhumane. And in the vein of transparency, when the video is released in the coming days, you will see this for yourselves. None of this is a calling card for inciting violence or destruction on our community or against our citizens.

Memphis Braces for Riots Based on Upcoming Police Footage

"And has potential ramifications that could lead to rioting and vandalism and destruction in the city of Memphis 5 Memphis police officers are in custody they are facing murder charges over the death of 29 year old Tyree Nichols, he died three days after the police pulled him over in a traffic stop. For some reason, the authorities in Memphis are going to wait until tonight at 6 p.m. to release the video of the body cam. Worn by the officers, the body cams, tonight at 6 p.m., they're going to release it. And I don't understand that at all. I don't get what in the world they're waiting for a Friday headed right into the weekend if you've got video release it. But there must be some reason behind waiting until tonight at 6 p.m., Memphis is on edge, Memphis is preparing for violence, there is no racial component unless you're a progressive who hates cops. The fact is that all 5 of the officers arrested are black, Tyree Nichols was black. And yet I saw on social media last night, two peculiar takeaways, number one, all the only reason these 5 officers were charged so quickly is because they're black. Didn't see that one coming. And number two, see it doesn't matter if a cop is black or white. They're all bad. They're all evil. They're all. We need to defund the police.

DCG-Owned Luno Cuts Staff by 35%

"We have a very wintry mix of crypto stories out here today, starting with some layoff news from will. What do you got? That's right, global crypto exchange Luna is laying off about 35% of its staff, part of Barry silbert's DCG empire. It has offices in Singapore, London, and elsewhere around the globe. This is pretty bad news. Just adding more to the layoff story that we've been covering for quite a while. There's been about 29,000 layoffs according to coin desks own numbers since the beginning of the crypto bear market earlier last year. So just more numbers in terms of headcount, number seems to be a bit all over the place. Some numbers showing that Luna has about 900 employees and now trim about 300 staff, others showing that there's about 600 employees in trimming down about 200 SaaS. So we don't quite know for sure about 35% is a pretty wide margin. Luno has about 10 million different users around the globe, and they service different crypto assets via its exchange product. Of course, this is just part of DCG empire. They also own coin desk, genesis, foundry, and a few other firms such as grayscale. Zack going through the story over to you more bad news to begin the week. Yeah, for sure, man. This is the story about C 5 despite, you know, some pump and token prices and maybe some excitement, maybe a bit of macro tailwinds, still cfi is trimming headcount quite significantly. So I think there's the secular issue here, right? We saw that graphic with all the exchanges that are laying off significant chunks of their workforce. And then there's the specifics as it relates to DCG, which is in hot water, a relative to genesis, filing for bankruptcy last week, and potentially some of those dominoes falling and spilling over into some of their other assets. So Luna here is got a pinch by both those factors. And as a result, you're seeing significant job cuts announced by this exchange. So that to me is where Luna finds itself. It's pretty bleak and it adds to that really big number 29. Maybe 30,000 crypto jobs cut since April that coin desk is doing a good job keeping a running tally on.

"It's like another child. It's like your little baby that you are only only you can take the best care of it right what we tell ourselves saying so when it comes to the point where our plate is overflowing and we want to maintain the balance. It's time to outsource right absolutely. Yeah absolutely overflowing because it's too much to right so what. What kind of things do you think are the best task to start with when you want when you realize you need a little help time for some out. Yeah women's time for some help. It's really looking at those things. And and focusing on what am i really best at. Where are my where my strengths lie. Because that's where i'm going to focus the best in. What are the things that maybe don't bring me as much joy. What are those things that i'm doing that it's like a you kind of have that like okay now. I'm going to do it because i have to. And so just starting to notice about your daily routine. What are those things and so focusing on you know. I was super excited to do this. So i did it. First and at the end of the day. I was trying to get this other thing done like. That's where you decide what you outsource. And i think that is a rule that works whether it's in your business or in you know if you're in career and delegating things to staff and in your home. What are the parts of taking care of your home that you're like. Oh now i have to do this. Maybe that's something that you can outsource their. Yeah and i think when women are new into business and they hear the word outsource they think to themselves. Maybe i'm wrong. But i feel like there's somebody right now listening going. I want to outsource. But i don't know where to start like. What's the best way for them to find someone that can help them for business specifically. I think that's starting. I think that's starting with someone that is virtual assistant. That's where i started is. What are the services that this person provides and just having that conversation because right. We don't know we don't know what other people do out there. It's also about talking to other people that have have kind of gone before us and saying you know. What did you get rid of. I and i've talked to so many women. It's different for everyone like like. I got rid of my bookkeeping i because they hate it. Well i'm a cpa so it's like oh man no like. That's kind of a fun part. That's behind the scenes. You know others are like you know what. I don't wanna market anything. I don't want to deal with social media. That's outsource so it's really as personal as you are but just starting that conversation with someone to say you know what are some potential services that you provide that. You could do better than i could. You can probably do it faster. And then if i can focus on what i do. Best than the plus. I've outsourced something that i don't need to do anymore. I can make more money over here. Doing what i do..

I want you to have every single person here. I want their hepatitis c. I wonder hepatitis b. I want all of these things to be submitted. Because you need to show me how. This is more deadly than that. And i mean again. It's gonna be different from workplace to workplace but just to maybe just a shift in the mindset of like realizing how auditors to ask someone their health history asking a stranger if they're vaccinated. I mean the people come up to you. If you're not wearing masks are you vaccinated because guidance says it's like you. When was it okay to the goal to someone at ask them like this infection like i don't never ever never Your employer doesn't know also what kind of medication you're on and they don't have enough research completed to know how this vaccination key matches up with certain medications. That's one of my biggest concerns is. How do you know especially people that are on a medication for neurological things. I mean how do you know what the side effect is gonna be or how the reaction is going to the. Are they willing to sign a document saying that. They'll take full responsibility if something were to happen to you where you can't come back to work due to taking vaccination. I mean that's another concern. I mean that's a huge thing that you that that you brought up just now is that you can save your employer. You're gonna force me to do this. Because the people may have heard this people may not care that the vaccine companies have absolutely zero liability. Not at all not. Yeah and on top of that with what we're talking about people influencers and things like that promoting it because neither vaccine and this is document you can read. It's the sec s The sec filing madeira adviser. You can read it in their documentation. It says in there. They're not fda approved so because they're not fda approved they don't have to abide by the regular laws fda approved drugs half their emergency use authorization so one. They're not liable for anything to happen to you too. Because they're not. Fda approved. They don't have to. They can they don't have to abide by the hip laws they don't have to abide by. What is called the anti kickback statute. Which means they can get kickbacks. The companies can get money Or pay people it says on there specifically that they don't have to abide by the anti-bribery laws all it's it's in a government document the sec filing which we're going to link we're gonna put that in the show notes because need to show people the proof we need that we need the the newburgh code to we're going to link to the show but has that ever been done before amy like has the emergency use authorization Tactic If you look at how you can use emergency use authorizations for both medical equipment medical diagnostic tools like the testing. "They're going to get cove head. They're still afraid of being around other people that don't have the vaccine and it's like so it's so crazy. Because if they had the vaccine they should feel like they're taking care of they've taken care of their body and they shouldn't worry about who else hasn't gotten the vaccine because they're covered but they don't feel that way So what this is the part that just makes me. I mean i had this friend of mine whose daughter recently got it. I feel horrible for her because the word she used as she feels helpless and if put into a position where i was in her shoes i would feel the same way. A lot of people are feeling helpless. Their jobs are on the line. Their kids college education on the line. There you know kids in school. I mean i know this is a hard question the answer but what do we do. What can we do if we don't feel comfortable getting it. And our employer is telling us we have to get it. I mean i would definitely because it state to state there's different guidance is in laws around requirements of employment. And now i would reach out to a lawyer person or mos and just saying what can i do. Another option forever. One at people have friends even if you can get a free consultation just say is there anything. I can do Some people that. I've heard which i don't know how effective this is at holding up to an employer. Snood i want every single person to bring their records to show that you know. They don't have hiv. They don't have std's they don't have tb. They don't have hp be. I mean i realize <Speech_Female> on the airlines. It's it's <Speech_Female> the mandate <Speech_Female> I hope <Speech_Female> it goes away very soon. <Speech_Female> The latest <Speech_Female> i heard was that <Speech_Female> september thirteenth <Speech_Female> twenty twenty <Speech_Female> one on that <Speech_Female> this is also be lifted <Speech_Female> travel <Speech_Female> <Speech_Female> I'm hoping <SpeakerChange> that it happens <Silence> sooner <Speech_Female> And <Speech_Female> you feel more comfortable. <Speech_Female> Where wearing <Speech_Female> it. though. I remains <Speech_Female> go for it. We <Speech_Female> just need to get back to <Speech_Female> will. We have to get <Speech_Female> back to compassionate. <Speech_Female> The for our fellow <Speech_Female> americans <Speech_Female> <Speech_Female> I think you <Speech_Female> so much laura for <Speech_Female> sharing a story. <Speech_Female> I mean it's just <Speech_Female> you know it takes a <Speech_Female> lot of bravery to come <Speech_Female> on and share <Speech_Female> this. I know weeks <Speech_Female> you know. Every time <Speech_Female> i've talked <Speech_Female> about it. You still well <Speech_Female> up a tear down. I mean <Speech_Female> would <Speech_Female> understand. Any <Speech_Female> mom couldn't understand <Speech_Female> that you just don't <Speech_Female> want your child <Speech_Female> to be treated this way <Speech_Female> <Speech_Female> <SpeakerChange> Into <Silence> frightened than just <Speech_Female> treated <Speech_Female> with basic <Speech_Female> disrespect right <Speech_Female> right. But <Speech_Female> i wanna also <Speech_Female> encourage listeners. <Speech_Female> You know you're <Speech_Female> listening <Speech_Female> in kansas. Take few <Speech_Female> minutes to say a prayer <Speech_Female> for cassie or <Speech_Female> better <Speech_Female> yet. I'm <SpeakerChange> sure <Speech_Female> she'd love to <Speech_Female> see some comments <Speech_Female> <SpeakerChange> If <Speech_Female> you feel willing <Speech_Female> to write your <Speech_Female> prayer down or son <Speech_Female> encouraging word <Speech_Female> to cathy we would love <Speech_Female> to share that <Speech_Female> with her <SpeakerChange> because <Speech_Female> And just to spread <Speech_Female> this episode <Speech_Female> with <Speech_Female> as many people <Speech_Female> as possible. <Speech_Female> So we can spread <Speech_Female> the message <Speech_Female> of just pure <Speech_Female> empty <Speech_Female> in <Speech_Female> let's give let's <Speech_Female> just put a lot <Speech_Female> of love out into <Speech_Female> the world for kathy. <Speech_Female> She's been through so <Speech_Female> much and she still <Speech_Female> shining bright <Speech_Female> and she's <Speech_Female> quite <SpeakerChange> an example <Speech_Female> <Speech_Female> definitely <Speech_Female> a lot of us on <Speech_Female> how to <Speech_Female> be just a better <Speech_Female> human beings so <Speech_Female> thank you for being on the shelf <Speech_Female> much for having <Speech_Female> me again <SpeakerChange> john and <Speech_Female> thank you to everybody <Speech_Female> listening out there wherever you are. "Light a candle in the evening in your favourite comfy chair. You grab some hot tea and you read for thirty minutes. I mean just there's so many ways So let me just read you this quote. Quick from eliza feinerman people who are in time in shape in prepared for work have one set of rituals and people who are late out of shape and unprepared for work often lack a consistent set of rituals very very very. You know this. You've heard this before you know. Every successful person in the world has rituals and habits. We just need to find out how we're gonna add them into our busy busy day right. Mom's okay so number three. Give yourself permission to change your ritual at any time for any reason so you may change the song you listened to or the time of day you read or what you eat for breakfast at any given moment you have the power to choose differently when i was doing and calls book and i was reading on the seven to ten goals than i. She never said when you accomplish a goal. Take it off and replace it. She never said to do it more than thirty days. I just knew it was working for me. So i adapted it to what i wanted to do with my totally. Fine okay number. Four make a ritual of cleansing your thoughts and surrounding each day. You know ladies that when your mind is clear. That's when god speaks louder right. Spend ten or fifteen minutes each evening putting things back where they belong as you pick up sort your thoughts from the day and let go of the negative emotions or thoughts you experience visualize putting these thoughts in the trash or washing them down the drain as you clean up. Tomorrow is a brand new day. Do not carry yesterday's worries into it. Powerful right you go around you declutter your house for. Fifteen minutes azure decluttering. Your brain. I mean come on life changing rights so simple no excuse fifteen minutes. We all can find fifteen minutes. You know what it's a matter of just starting today and having it happened. You know maybe before you sit down to watch the real housewives you go around and you you're fifteen minute Cleanse.

"A diamond necklace you wouldn't wanna waste it away You wouldn't understand not take care of it or not be a good steward of it. It's something that We just need to treat with you. Know with delicate care so that we know We're not using it frivolously. But we're using what god gave us with the best of intention and today the first topic we're going to talk about is how to organize a beneficial habit habit. through ritual of our time so when we talk about habits. It's a big part of what we're spending our time on. So we have these habits summer intentional. Many are not. But when you think about all of the habits that you have created in your life Think about what kind of time that adds up to so it might be a habit of doing a devotional. Every morning it might be a habit of working out. Every day. Might be a habit of balancing your checkbook. Once a month. It might be a habit of reading to your kids before you go to bed. But there are so many minutes dedicated to these habits and The cool thing about you know habits is that we can start a new habit at any given point. And i have done this so many times my life when i wanna make a big change. I focused on creating a new daily habit for a minimum of twenty one days. You may have heard an episode. I did recently. I will Was reading book called gold getters and the author was talking. Which was nicole crank. I love her Was talking about just writing down seven to ten goals every day making a daily habit to write down your goals the things that you want accomplish for this upcoming year and it was so powerful and it made such a difference in my life that i have continued to write down these goals every single day for months and months and months. I think i started back in january or february But once a goal is accomplished. I just replace it with a new one but the actual habit of writing in my journal every single day. is powerful. I write down these goals. And then i write down. What i'm thankful for and i don a specific prayer to god And so what it does is create this kind of habit of getting. My mind sat in the right direction at the beginning of each day. And i think that is when you know you have a great habit when it's actually improving the course of your life little by little every single day we asked. We often associate a ritual with a religious or spiritual activity but in the broadest definition a ritualised simply osama pattern of activity so making something into a ritual while evitable place more importance on the activities. So that ritual of me sitting down with my morning coffee and getting out my journal and getting my bible and writing down those things you know. It really placed more importance on activity rather than if i had just when i feel like or on the run or once every few days i got that journal wrote down. I actually made it into a ritual. It'll help you be more conscious of what's happening how it's happening and how it affects you because of this rituals can be a great aid and making changes in.

"It does sound simple but why is it so difficult so i hope you enjoyed the show today because i'm just going to get back to some basic one on one meaning you and i- coaching where i can really share some of a knowledge That i do every single day as professional organizer and an expert in this field. So you know. The show is all about motivation. Inspiration organization for women Kind of start out for moms and now it's kind of grown into women and it is just been so cool to watch that growth happen so i just wanna take a quick second and say thank you so so so much to everybody that tunes into this show all the time i never in a million years thought it would grow to the point that it's at today and it's really cool to see that we not only have moms in the united states listening every week but we have moms literally around the world and the one thing i know about women in general. Is that deep down. We really are all the same so today show hopefully is going to give you back some of that time That you've been missing in just this series will be something that kinda give you tips in Ideas on maybe how you manage your time better. So i'm really excited. I'm going to jump into that for A couple of seconds. But i i just wanna take a minute To thank everybody that went ahead and sent reviews in lately. I just want to read one. That just came out recently from j. m. luck eighty-three in it says thank you so much for so many facts on the vaccine. It was refreshing to hear the other side's point of view information. Everyone needs to hear learn. This made me realize. I'm making the best choice for myself and daughters love to hear more from you and dr amy on topics such as these So actually i talked to dr amy and she is willing to come back on the show. We are in the middle of trying to schedule something So i look forward to having her back on. There was so many Comments from matt show geared towards The information that dr. Amy gave us an. I just could not be happier that. The listeners appreciated the feedback that she gave. She's such a nozzle person and We're really thrilled to be having her back soon. So stay tuned Yeah so getting back to organizing your time. It is not an easy task but it can be done There's so many things. I do on a weekly basis to try to keep my time under control because i believe that time is a gift that we have been given by god and that we just really need to embrace it with all that we are because the difference between somebody that's Really fulfilled with their their life at the end of it is how did they use their time. We all have been given the exact same amount of twenty four hours but how we use that time is what is crucial. I want you to kind of think of that as we start off the series just just your time is a gift and you don't wanna waste it away just like if somebody gave you.

"Who does something that. How could you do that again. All those all those words that suggests that he does it struggle within the way we all do. You might be struggling a little more with certain one at this time in his life but the reality is we are all broken centers who need fall on the mercy and love of god every day and are called his loved children because of that grace. So it's When we think about the fact though that god disciplines like we say to the boys allow. We'd discipline you because we love you. We do need. They don't get that. You know like q the iro right there. Whatever this not loving. And i'm not gonna discipline my kids like you do this away all right back to twenty years. But it's like they're checking all the boxes of things. Teenagers supposed to say right when they say stuff like that. But you know it's it's we i. It's just it's it's the way. And i think this how we can foster rather than frustrate our children's understanding of god because this is how godparents us he gives us boundaries for our benefit. He allows He doesn't know he. There will be suffering and hardship in and so these are life lessons for them That they can you know. Hold up in light of what. God's word says about the way god parents us that he is a loving father And that his his goal is to transformed into the image of his son. I mean that's right for the glory of the father so that the world might know you his love and so our goal is parents is to help our kids grow in the likeness of jesus recognizing that we can give effort. But we don't we don't control outcome right it's back to what we started with that's the moisture its job so we put in the effort but we don't control the outcome as we have to like the outcome and that's hard. Yeah absolutely another big thing. That really is really cool to mention about the book. Is the part about being broken together. Parenting with a broken together mindset. It means creating a culture of confession. Not perfection in the home. Really good stuff. You talk a little bit about that. And what that looks like for mom's if they want to implement that yeah. It was the song that had come out not long before i wrote the bible. Study from mercy new because called in together and it's about marriage. But as i listened this is for life you know this is for. This is how spouses can love each other. How parents can love their children. We really are. It's that coming alongside each other like we go to the cross together. We both lead the mercy in the love of jesus every day so That broken together approach for the things for me has been Just recognizing both.

"Jeannie will give it to you in. Mom set free so yet the book. The gospel is the best pep talk ever. Yes because it has. It's one that has power right. it's not like fluffy words. Right i mean the gospels dot ever yes the live So one of the things that i want to just kinda start out with in the book is for me with I just mentioned to you before the show started that. Were finishing the Checkered tonight the one thing that will always stick with me Just makes me feel. Emotional is in the beginning of the book. You remind us that these kids are gods kids and you actually say something about praying for your child as in like you know god help your daughter or florida son and i will be honest with you gene when i first read it as like. That's might be weird praying that way and you use specifically say that god loves them even more than we can love them and i think throughout the entire time that we were meeting together we were reminded of that Very very powerful statement That makes us feel like a little bit less weighted down own liquor. Not doing this alone. Yeah i think that was such a profound moment for me. When i was praying and it just felt the lord nudging meet to to think differently about kind of my the heaviness the weight of that like it's all on me to me and this beautiful invitation to remember that ultimately they belong to their heavenly father so i began praying your sons lord. I pray for this specific thing in your son. Brennan at pray for this specific thing in your son cal. I guess you have entrusted them to me. But i am not doing this on my own ultimately. You are good father. You are their sovereign god and so it's like it's such a it's a. It's a like a mind shift. If that's the right way to say it where where we go. Okay i get to partner with god in the work he wants to do in. My kids lives but that pressure to play. God's role in their lives is off. It was never mind to begin with. But i think a lot of us mama's we take on all of these things all of these responsibilities and pressures that ultimately Belong to god the father. God the son and got the holy spirit but we try to kinda play that role or we think we have to play that role and and it just weighs us down and begins to steal all of the the adventure in the joy and all these other beautiful things that the lord wants to s to experience as we learn to trust him with the kids. He's entrusted to us. Yes it's so it's it's very freeing to be honest with you and and hard right now. Hard right like sometimes. It's hard to to have that Perspective because i want to be able to do things. Change things or fix things that i can't do or fix or change and so then i realized that the pride issue for me. Because that's me saying lord. I know better than you right. I don't understand why you're allowing it to continue to happen in my son's heart. But i want to be able to fix it so odd like this. This idea that you are sovereign in this will happen in. Your timing is frustrating to me but then it also reveals this pride that i think i know better than i don't I don't understand the ways of the lord and how his timing is ultimately the best thing for my son but it just sometimes it doesn't feel that way or look that way right so we want to be.

I really enjoyed that. And he feels and smells so good. And i really want people to understand and i hope you'll listeners. Take this with them as well as anyone can do. This and i would love to encourage anyone listening to just go and buy one simple botanical oil. Not an essential oil but a carrier oil something like rose hip oil august oil avocado oil really high quality oils and just use the neat on their skin. Tiny bit like serum after their their moisturizers and cleanses at night. And to see how you feel because even that can make such a profound difference. And if you enjoy that. Go and find a simple lip bomb recipe. Actually we have tons of recipes. On our blog formula botanic dot com but just blend an oil and a wax and the buzzer together is very simple. You just have a water bath much like he did when he melt chocolate. When you're you melting together you pull them into a little container you get them solidify. Today's your lip balm in three equal podcast and it is so empowering once you realized that just your shea. Butter your beeswax. Armand oil has created something that you might actually pay five dollars for in the story. I actually don't know how much lip bumps in the us but just making that up so just have fun with it. Try something simple. And you will realize how empowering that is and i watch. Our students go on that journey. They start with is really simple recipes as simple formulas and they build their way up and within a few months then making emotions than making shampoos and making conditioners. And they're like why this is so empowering because if you can cook you can make bt products as well and it's been that way for millennia. you know. If i find christmas. I was researching the history of the industry and i found some really old. Diy books from the fifteen hundreds and seventeen hundreds written in like old french and old english. They were putting olive oil in the head then as well no nothing really has changed and it's almost like we're returning to a routes that anyone and you can make products for your babies yup awarness learn this and you don't have to worry about what you're putting on your baby's skin. Maybe you know your your teenager has acne. It could be really a cool project to work on that together now. Where do you suggest getting. You know when mom's here avocado oil groups. "I think we will. I spent quite a lot of time with them. And i think they have great ideas. There's a there's a. There's a humility actually in i think particularly in the zuma generation you don't often see An and i think that there i find inspiring and i i you know last year the year before spent quite a bit of time working with a bunch of students here working on the thousand dollar general and there was just really really good fun. I'm getting ideas back from them. But i'm really glad you picked up on on. Why the word happy is in is in the title of the book because you know happy ever after is about security and just the idea of an and that's the happy that money can bring. I'm happy doesn't bring any other kind. Here's a money doesn't bring any other kind of of happy. The only thing that can bring is is the sense of okay. I don't need to worry about this right now. And that's a huge type of happy. They're kind of. It can enable the other kinds as well which as you said spending money it com bring. And i think that's some so much of what i i think. I had those conversations with my daughter for the idea to put it all into one place and i think you know you haven't seen the book yet. We'll try sure. Get a copy too soon as possible but so you can see it fun too. So that she's having a laugh and the characters in the book is a there's a princesses who's a bit spoiled and we don't talk about who she is based on that. Obviously it might be someone in my family and being talked to by her talking frog And all these various stories that would come through. We the emperor's new clothes but instead he had the emperor's new monday because he he works out that he could print money on paper because up until that is being magic gold coins. So we try. And we've stores all the way through it that i actually related to finance but in a way that kind of just get slows messages through in a slightly fun 'way rather than saying spend money because you know kids don't learn from what we say learned from what we do and they learn from the other combat the better conversations. We have and the things that they can see around. And that's why. I felt like writing it down and her seeing the way you know what i do and what you know what my wife and i do that would ring more true than just saying doug to this. Don't do this. don't do this because it just becomes kind of top beliefs. That they do want to do it. Yes i love that you mentioned the best.

"Who are his followers who track So many of the indices the are very important And you're in particularly if you're in the us it's harder and the rest of the world because the index is that we invest in the rest of the world a much smaller than the american indexes. But if you're looking to the us you go things like the s. and p. five hundred which five hundred amazing amazing companies if you buy if you put whatever the smallest increment is you can buy that. That's maybe it's twenty dollars or thirty dollars into an s. and p. five hundred index. That is all of a sudden. You've now got a five hundred stock portfolio. That's an amazing. Starting position and those are not just any oh companies. These are some of the best companies in the world. And if you build it up over time and you stop watching it seeing which companies make you more. Which companies haven't done so well you may have times dot wanting to individually get more exposure to it but i you know you don't have to take my word for that bidding good idea. The warren buffett's will states that you know. After his death his family will have ninety percent of their money put into the s. and p. five hundred index. Run by van god. And so if it's if it's good enough. Warren buffett to right into his will. It's really good enough for the rest of us until we learn a lot more head to i love that. So that's something simple they can do. They can go to vanguard checkout the s. and p. five hundred and they can figure out what is the minimum investment and then keep an eye on the companies and then start to get not only a feel for where to direct more money or less money but also get some passion behind it right when you start to see what maybe these companies are doing what they stand for I think that's executor. Yeah and the other thing is the only thing..

"And i told my daughter that i just saw her eyes light up like she got it. She could be a millionaire. She never thought she could xix seven dollars at a time. And what is i think. Some important rather than kind of teaching lessons is finding inspiration and if we can inspire kids to live in a in a healthy way then it takes an inner the really yes. I love that. I love the fact that you use the word inspiration because when these kids go off to college you know of course. They all think they're going to become millionaires. They think that they're all going to end up bridge because they went to college. But you're giving them specific practical steps. That are quite simple. The even a college student can afford seven dollars a day. It's just one less. You know latte at starbucks and they can actually start implementing this earlier than they think so without giving everything in the book away. Can you kind of talk about some of the steps that discussing the book on how to get these kids thinking this way. Actual actionable steps that they can start taking if maybe they're listening to the show today. Yes so what. The book is structured along a used the an acronym of mission just to come to keep it really simple. The mission is obviously to become financially free but mission stands for money income staving spending investing honing then the most important one. Now which is when you start because you can start some of these things right now. There are things to begin wherever you are on that journey. There is something you can do today. And so for when we when we talked about money when money and income. One thing things i wanted to do with my daughter was to give her the idea that you don't have to go and get a job if you want to intern and there is no good internships. Do you want to start something. Start side gig stott some kind of business because there's no there's no limits on it and in many ways in to open yourself to becoming an entrepreneur when you're seventeen eighteen and you can take that kind of risk and you can learn lessons about what what a business actually does. I thought that would be inspirational for her to to have triumphed that. So that's one of the things we engage within in high for for income saying there isn't just one way of getting money. There's there's two you worked for other people or you work for yourself. But then i mean something like saving. That was really important. Because it's there's a phrase that we use in the thousand dollar journals which is very very simple version of this and that's just saving becomes before spending and if you can learn at four letter forward phrase.

God's work the dabble hates like that is something that you really do uncover whether you realize it or not. You're being got your purpose every single day. I believe every single person on the planet was here with a specific purpose from god whether we know what that purposes yet or not. And that's why i'm super passionate about helping people to figure out what their purposes and i think decluttering your life really does help start that process so when you know your purposes you plan ahead you start each day with that in mind purpose shapes how we think how we spend our time. How do life your life purpose. Here's the thing so make sure you're listening. Your life purpose is not your job or your role role such as a mother a daughter a sister a friend. That's not your purpose. Positions enrolls are vehicles through which you deliver your purpose. Your purpose comes from within. It was planted inside of you. "Yeah and and. I think that that is one thing i've really learned especially as a mom of four daughters it because i started out thinking i had to be this perfect role model and i didn't want them to see any laws or see me. You know the local corner looking weak and realize as i get older that they really are really connecting a better. When i'm honest like i'm struggling to you know this is how i'm handling my disappointments and having those conversations because all they see around them as the perfection on instagram. Or you know these achievements and they're just surrounded by success stories and that can make them really line in their failures or their disappointment sometimes and so just to know that they have you know parents who are human and willing to share that humanity and really were all really journey together and learning from each other. I think that gives a lot of relief to them and it really can help build relationship. Yeah one hundred percent. i wanna talk about on page sixty one where you say. Today's trend of quote. Buddy parenting is largely a response to author author. -tarian parenting our generation grew up with while our parents had more control. There wasn't always a strong emotional connection in today's parents. Desire more connection in closeness. Let's talk about for a second. How the fact that. This is the kind of generation. We're raising the the phones in the access to the entire world. We can't have control over every little thing And we are there so many things basically Trying to compete with our time in the attention to our children a wad of parents are saying that because we were raised in a different time. Those types of parenting skills. Don't apply to us today. So i find that this buddy buddy. Parenting thing is a real thing because we don't want to ruin the relationship with our kids so we're kind of always balancing a being Rules in burning respect with being close in tight. So can we talk about that first. Second yes yeah you. You are great point. That i've had this conversation in another zoom call to with a small group that there's a lot more competing for the attention of kids today besides their family and we talked about that and they're surrounded by so negative influences and why that is important a positive influence in our homes and the importance as they get older that we go from that position of control to really a position of influence in their lives. But we're not going to influence them. We don't have a relationship if they don't like us and so it is such a hard thing to balance and we're constantly asking ourselves this a battle. I'm willing to fight. You know we gotta give somewhere but Yeah in unity with my girls. Sometimes i worry about being too strict. And then i'll worry about being too lenient with every child. That's different you kind of figure out.
