"O t it's still water all right that's byu radio 107 .9 fm so byu a 5 and 16 2 and 6 in the conference on the road against oklahoma state and they are now I'd in overtime 34 also keep an eye on that game but Cougars showing some after life today a very tough season this year in the big 12 once again this is fox football Saturday we're coming to you live from the tire rack .com studios shortly after the show our podcast will be going up if you missed any of today's show be sure to check out the podcast just search Fox Sports Radio wherever you get podcast your be sure to also follow rate and review the podcast again just search Fox Sports Radio wherever you get your podcast and you'll see this show posted right after we get off the air all right Washington and Washington State still tied 21 all we got a little over three minutes to go in the fourth quarter in that game and as we mentioned Florida State trying to stay undefeated they are without obviously their starting quarterback Travis went down with that gruesome leg injury by the way we never actually got a full report about that leg injury did you notice that Ephraim they just said I mean all week long I said what exactly happened we know his is season over square Florida State is over but no one said anything they never gave us a specific on what the actual injury was I mean I know his entire left leg was pointed in the wrong direction so that's never good I wonder what happened with Zach Zinner from Michigan was there any update on his injury I did not hear an update on that I got carted off yeah yeah we've been getting a lot of guys hurt unfortunately I thought the game was supposed to be safer well that's a violent sport brother it is does it amaze you what was the most serious injury you suffered in your 13 year NFL career I mean I tore all my cartilage I broke both my hands tore my labrums yeah you know herniated disc in my back just stuff like that but you retired yes you weren't carried off the field for the last time no I was like I'm I want to stop now right you put your time in and then yeah I put from 12 to 34 mm and how are you feeling now I'm in pain every day you know I manage yes um all right let's get back you were before we were talking about these games tomorrow in the national football league there's going to be six early games are you asking me about the Jacksonville Jaguars to me the Jaguars are very similar to the Detroit Lions right now I want to believe in them they sort of have been better this year so they're both trending in the right but direction that doesn't mean they're ready for prime time the Jared Goff situation I mean they they look bad against the Bears and what was interesting about that game last week is that they came back to win and Marc Schlereth joined us and Marc course of a three -time Super Bowl champion and I asked Marc I said Marc we know this about good teams good teams find ways to win games many times they should lose but they just figure out a way to win and that's what the Lions did last week against the Bears do you feel confident that the Lions have turned that corner and he said yeah you know because he was at the game he was working the game and and everything else I think they're there and then they completely lay an egg yesterday against the Packers so I it takes there's there's a process to get there and I think Jacksonville is in the think improved Jacksonville's are they good enough to beat the Ravens in a playoff game or the he's in a playoff game no well the thing they have is a quarterback they do but he still has been but he's a real life if you look at him yeah he's a real life he's got it oh he's got it but he didn't have a two weeks ago when they got humiliated by the 49ers not 49ers are a different animal mm -hmm you know oh by the way everyone's back on the Brock Purdy bandwagon again well I never got off and then we was wavering a little bit no I was all in on as long as he has all his weapons available to him he'll spread it around any seventh round draft pick who's balling out I'm with him period can I ask you this about MVP so there's been an argument made for Myles Garrett you know he's putting up some amazing numbers you also have a Dallas player that has five pick this year which is an NFL record that's crazy that isn't that it's and he still has six what games left games ago and he already has the record and then you look at the quarterbacks you look at a guy like McCaffrey it'll do it all running back leading the league in rushing which way would you be leaning right now the the only way someone outside of a quarterback is going to win MVP in the league is if they shatter a long -standing record so if Myles Garrett gets to 23 24 sacks There's an argument for that for him to be the MVP. What about McCaffrey? If McCaffrey you know breaks the you know all -time Arts and Scrimmage record right because when you you look at when Marshall when who was it Sean Alexander I believe Lydanian Tomlinson of course at the Touchdown record he that's what he and Sean Alexander. Did they set that right down record to consecutive, so you have to? You have to go above and beyond if Tariq Hill can have over 2 ,000 yards now receiving you start talking about oh, okay? Well we have to take a look at this in terms of best player in the league. We'll see how that plays out. So many different scenarios, so many different gains, so left much on the NFL schedule, but right now we need to take care of business by bringing on to find out what is trending right now the one the only Mr. Brian Finley that has a long day ahead of him. He's getting started here. I was gonna say you're you're you're barely lunchtime for your schedule. Yeah We got that UCLA game coming up at 730 at the Rose Bowl

The winner of that series advances to face the Orioles. Minnesota Minnesota ends an 18 -game postseason losing streak by topping Toronto 3 -1 Arizona over Milwaukee 6 3. NFL commanders prepare for their prime -time game with Chicago quarterback Sam Howell. It's definitely not a team you can take lightly there's no easy games in the NFL and they have a lot of really good players on their defense and they fly around they play hard and you can tell they want to win and it's definitely a challenge for us and we definitely have our hands full they do a lot of good stuff schematically on defense as well so it's definitely a tough defense. Burgundy and Gold having issues she's keeping Howell upright 24 sacks allowed this year the most in the league. NHL preseason hospitals continue things with a bang. "24 sacks" Discussed on Schlereth and Evans

"Sticking might take a look at the four biggest stories in Denver sports. Here's Lara then Evans kicking it off with first out. Game three tonight, nuggets and sons. I'm very curious to see how the nuggets come out because typically NBA teams, especially veteran, NBA teams, players will look at a series two games on the road and almost kind of selectively pick. Which game that they're going to go hard in. Meaning do we want to try to go for the knockout punching game three up two O or do we understand we're going to be walking into a bit of a buzz saw? We're going to get their best effort. Hey, maybe we want to save ourselves for game four. When that same emotion isn't there from the home team. Where do you think the nuggets fit into? The go for the knockout punch or the, hey, we'll save ourselves for game four. I'd like to think they were going for the knockout punch. And I told you this is like, the thing that impressed me more than anything else and it wasn't about jokic scoring a bunch of points or contagious Caldwell Pope knocking down four threes. It wasn't really about that of the two man game between Murray and then Murray finally hit in a shot late after he's won for ten and all that stuff. What really impressed me is I just felt like it was a gut check. And then I told you, man, the way they cut the cord off, the way they funneled guys to help defensively. The way they fought through screens, like the way they played in the fourth quarter, it was one of those mental physical gut checks that I just looked at the nuggets that that's a different team. That is a different mentality wise. There are different teams. Well, it was kind of what we felt as we started to watch the avalanche go through the playoffs last year, was this realization, hey, this team is different than past avalanche editions. This is a team that will play a physical, grind it out, physical. If you want to get in our face fine, we'll play that way. They weren't the soft finesse avalanche team that we had seen in the past that if you stood up to them, they would cower. This was an avalanche team that showed will play whatever style you want. It will beat you. And it seems like the nuggets may be answered that question with the way they played in games too. Yeah, they really did. I mean, again, the mentality of the way they're playing right now, that's what impressed me. I was excited about that. Second down. Well, this is one of those cases where it's just nice to be nominated. Kale mccar is one of the finalists for the Norris trophy as the best defenseman, but he will not make it a repeat as Eric Carlson of San Jose should win this Carlson played in all 82 games by comparison kale played in 60 Carlson has a 101 points highest scoring defenseman in the NHL in almost 30 years. He had a 101 kale head 66. Yes. So I guess really, it's just, in this case, it's just nice to be nominated. Yeah. And it's all about how good you are on offense when you're winning the defensive trophy of the year. Well, to your point, kale in eliminated amount of games was a plus 16. Carlson was a -26. You want to describe and define, explain the plus minus rule? Sure. Sure, God. You're on the ice. You're team score more than the other team? Bottom line is the Norris trophy is about the best defenseman. It should be about your defense. It should take, but with such an emphasis placed on scoring and more emphasis placed on defenseman getting into the office. It's the same issue I always have like with the hype and trophy. The hua, the hype man, the hype man? Yeah, you know, when they Dole out the hype spent trophy. I've been trophy? Yeah, you know, the big trophy. Yeah, the hype man. Hype spent. Yeah, the Heisman. It's not for the best college football player. It's for the best player who plays quarterback. This is the most important position in football. They don't fire. They don't play football. They play quarterback. But if they're the most important person on the team. It's so easy. I'm done. I'm done with their skill position players. When Terrell suggs, his junior year, yeah, had 24 sacks on college football season and didn't get invited to New York. I know. Wow. It's a stupid trophy, the Heisman is a dumb award. It's stupid. The hype man. Mark says with no bitterness whatsoever. It's just dumb. Third down. This is part two. Here tells me not gonna get her. Castro off the bed, gives the rockies a two to the 8th. W big W that's four W, can I get four W's? W, W W there you go, four in a row. For bud blacks, rockies. They just swept the Milwaukee Brewers. How about that? This is not good. This is not good. They're not gonna get to a hundred losses that they keep doing this. Iron Man does not lose. He only is associated with teams that win, well, that don't lose a hundred. Every team I've ever played for contends, contest. The easiest area that he's only got, he's over 300. These sit at three O 9 right now. You just gotta wrap that dude bubble paper. Make sure he's ready to show up every night. Yeah, he's the only guy over. Well, no, there's a couple of other guys. Yeah, Diaz, find the dish, three 37. Okay. Okay. And that's it. Yeah, Brian's throw 9. You're not. Three O 9? Blackman's at like two 80. Charlie's the two 80. Yep. Ryan McMahon, two 15, two 50. Feel free to join the party here, Ryan. He got a bunch of dudes just floating around the Mendoza line. Oh, we got some steak eaters and bus riders. Oh, not good. One, two, three. Fourth down. Rockies, by the way, in New York to play the mets this weekend. Thompson, curls off aluminum screens a jumper. It's up. It's good for Klay Thompson. He's got 20 8. Warriors radio as the Golden State bounces back in a big way blowing out the Lakers in game two. That series now one one shifting back to LA. Should we all be Laker fans? Never sure at least are looking ahead to the next series, Western Conference finals. So should we be Laker fans? Do we want the Lakers? Or the war? I would rather than what you saw last time. I would rather have the Lakers. Two reasons because I don't think the Lakers are as good. They are a better matchup

"The Rick Adelman show Saturday from 11 A.m. to noon. Right here on 6:20 A.m. wtmj. No time for an update from the grouper law offices. One call that's all sports Dad. Here's Nick Bandwagon and tough loss for the Bucks in Phoenix Wednesday night, down, one with 2.8 seconds on the clock, Yonas missed the would be game winning shot from just beyond the free throw line. Many are noticing sharpshooter Chris Middleton wide open in the corner with a potential open look. In the suit. That's a million times. I think he actually had a game winner a couple years ago in New York. Same area step back, So there's nothing new for me for him to take a pull up for a game and shot like that. Next up for the boxes, the Jazz and Salt Lake City last time they won their 2001. Wisconsin native Jordan. Zimmerman, recently into a new mine early contract with an invite to camp says he's excited for a chance to play for his home team. Yeah, I'm excited. The place has thought about my whole career, maybe touching the year two at we're going to spring with them, So I'm pretty excited about that. Zimmerman will join Brewers weekly host Matt Paulie tonight at eight o'clock. Fresh off a nod to the NFL Hall of Fame. Former Packers cornerback Charles Woodson hopes to one day be joined by another member of the green and gold. Laroy Butler. Leroy was was a great player, man for a long time. And so I definitely expect that you're gonna be in there sometime soon. Woodson was a guest on Will the intelligent 94 5, ESPN Milwaukee this morning? It really is flabbergasting, John why Butler hasn't been voted in yet. John Lynch. To put it in perspective he got in this year. Let's compare the number Shall we interceptions, Butler had 36 toe Lynch's 24 sacks. Butler had 20.5 to Lynch's 13 defensive touchdowns. Butler had three. Lynch never scored a point. All Pro nods. Butler had four Lynch had to. It's inexplicable from my perspective. Why Laroy Butler is not in the Hall of Fame. You know, it's a popularity contest. I mean, John Lynch is very popular. He's been a successful general manager. I'm with you the right butler has to be in there, but John Lynch is likable, high profile. There are a lot of people who are saying that it was John Lynch is a 3rd 9th time on the ballot, and it was only the Roy Butler second, so that could play into it. But Just based on those numbers. I mean, those aren't even close. He's got to get in. Eventually, his time's got to be coming, right? He will. It just feels like it's a lot of politics and somebody's turn is up. It shouldn't be turns. It should be. Whoever deserves to get in. Should be in up next. What if there was a stretch of road? About three miles or so, and it had four different names. Port of her name's. It's true here in Milwaukee will explore explain it next. Hey, there, folks.
