Fresh update on "2028" discussed on The Financial Guys

"This is the same party now that is putting people up in hotels, letting them destroy things, letting them live in airports with no beds, nothing. Donald Trump is the enemy though. Donald Trump didn't have control of the border, right? Same, same, uh, administration, Mike, the bite administration that once said that Donald Trump was evil for putting up a wall. The bite administration is now continuing to build that wall. Why? Cause it works, right? Cause it works. So let's, uh, conclude here with a little talk on Donald Trump and actually staying in New York, because that's where there is a case against our former president and hopefully our next president. He wants to bring the gag order case, uh, to basically get it up to the New York court of appeals to basically allow him to now speak again, because you remember there was a gag order order placed on him by Arthur Angaron, who clearly is an anti-Trumper, right? Remember his wife member. Yeah. Oh yeah. I remember him kind of smirking, looking at Donald Trump, shaking his head, like, I've got you right here by the short hairs. So he, he did that in front of Donald Trump. Donald Trump speaks about this case and, uh, they put a gag order on him. Well then basically a four judge panel, they basically overturned the, the undoing of the gag order. And so essentially the gag order is back on. And so Donald Trump wants to get that up to the court of appeals. So Mike, just further, I guess, interference in, in allowing Donald Trump to actually run a campaign now. Right. But it never seems to stop him. Let me ask you this. Do you think it's going to make his case even stronger in terms of, you know, the American people supporting him? Or do you think that at some point this is going to really tear him down? No, I don't think it's going to tear him down. I think the more that the left does this, I almost just threw my mic on the ground. The more that the left does this. And the more that these, these weaponized DAs like Tish James and these weaponized judges, like judge, whatever his name is, um, the more that happens, Mike, the more people are going to go onto the Trump train. And I'm going to say this. If you would have told me a year ago with how DeSantis, you know, was and polling and whatnot, that Trump would have a 50 or 60 point lead in some States, I would have told you you're nuts because of all these things and see, this will, this will divide the party further. The moderates won't like Trump. It's actually the opposite, right? I know people that are anti-Trump people. I know a lot of them and not left this anti-Trump like conservative voters that are like, I just want this guy out of the party that are now like, no, no, I'm on board. Well, let's get him in there. Right. You have people on the left, Mike, like Michael Rappaport, who has one of the most severe cases of Trump derangements in history is now saying like, I might have to vote for this guy. You have BLM leader saying, I'm like Chris Cuomo talking about how Trump isn't that bad. Right. Like this is where we are. I think, I think his case is strengthening because people are like, wait a minute. I don't like this guy. I may not like his personality. I may not like the way he talks. I may not like the way things he says, but this is getting insane. And if you don't think that there's something wrong with you, Mike, because that's the kind of Mike I always say, they will come after you at some point, they'll use you, they'll abuse you. And then they'll come after you, whether you're right, left or center, they will, once they get their use out of you, they come after you. And I think in an odd way, and it's a sort of a, an indirect way, we feel like they are coming after us because they're going after Donald Trump. Like we support him. We support him for the policies that were pro-American that were actually supportive of American citizens. If you're going to try and tear him down and you're rejecting him, then you're essentially rejecting us. So what are we going to do? We're going to further support Donald Trump. And I think that's what's happening. Um, you know, so, uh, your prediction again, Chris Christie is next to thin out the Republican side. Um, Real quick on that. Chris Christie, if you ever hear this, maybe we'll cut this clip and I'll ask you point blank. What is your campaign platform? You still don't have one, right? It's yeah, Trump's the enemy. Well, that's not going to fly. So, so if you could let us know what your actual platform is, and maybe you'll be on the debate stage tomorrow and maybe, maybe just maybe you'll I would love to hear your actual campaign platform other than Donald Trump is the enemy. He's got to go. We can't have this man. He's mean. Um, just give me something if you can. That would be great. That's a nice, short, concise campaign slogan though. I hate Trump, right? I hate that's working so well because it's working really well for you, Chris. Well, he'll, he'll likely find himself as a CNN or MSNBC contributor shortly after he bows out. When do you think that'll happen? Actually? I think, I think you're going to start to see stuff coming here. If, if, you know, I think, I think these five candidates, so I think they go through to Iowa. I think they probably go to New Hampshire, um, and South Carolina. And then I think you're going to have a really thinned out field by, by the end of super Tuesday. I think, I think we're going to get to the point where, you know, even around the Swami who I love at some point, if you're pulling a 2%, 3%, 5%, you know, I see DeSantis staying in because Ron and his team think he's got a chance. I think, I think I see him staying in. Um, I, I see Nikki Haley staying in, but I could see DeSantis, Ramaswami and Christie going first probably. And then, you know, I don't know if I was DeSantis, I'd get out now though, stop the misery and keep yourself alive for 2028. Cause if you get absolutely steamrolled, it's not going to look very good for you. All right. On that note, folks, we will wrap, uh, it is a Tuesday. Again, you can join us on Wednesdays and Thursdays for Mike and Glenn, and then usually a very good exclusive interview that Mike's browser will have. Um, don't forget to join us every Monday, Wednesday, Friday for morning Mike's 815 to 830 AM live, download our app, make it really easy for yourself. You can even listen to previous episodes of things we've done. And of course we are live on radio, uh, here in Western New York, WBEN and in Rochester, WHAM, W H A M radio. "Live or Memorex, that is the great Minnie Riperton. You were 15, Mike. Remember that on the radio? I do remember that. Loving you. The Tweety Birds in the background made it an easy song to make fun of. It seemed like a very shallow lyric to me. Loving you is easy because you're beautiful. I know. Is that really where you want to... That's it? I mean, how shallow and superficial are you? What if you got like a big old mole on your cheek? Bad skin. Dermatological. Anyway, the great Minnie Riperton would have been 76 today. Famous, famous daughter, do you know? The gal from Saturday Night Live? Yes, the wonder, wonderful comic actress Maya Rudolph. Maya Rudolph. I was forgetting her first name. Bridesmaids, dude. Oh my gosh. If you're ever in a bad mood, you rent bridesmaids. Just watch Bridesmaids. That's a little crass, a little crude, especially the bridal shop suite. Oh, it's happening. It's happening. It's happening. Look away. Look away. In the middle of the street with a digestive issue. Oh my goodness. Hey, listen, I've got digestive issues this morning after. I didn't know what my expectations were. They were not high. It's Ohio and you figure, well, maybe they're not up for baby killing, but they were. And I think that the weed vote, the legal pot vote brought out all the young stupid people and that's how you get your abortion advocacy in Ohio. Listen, let me just let you talk because as pro -lifers, we've got a lot of work to do. We have a lot of work to do and that's why tonight's debate is part of the process. We're in the spin room right now and I'm just getting ready for interesting dueling events. You've got Trump down the street in Hialeah. You have five candidates on this stage tonight and I hope that they bring this up. I hope they bring up the abortion problem that the Republican Party has and that's all anybody's talking about. What do you want them to say? Well, we have to say something differently because every single election has gone down in flames since Roe v. Wade was overturned. And we got a battle going on within the party and I want to give you a little preview tonight because I got a chance to visit with Hugh Hewitt last night. He gave me some tips about what to look for as he's been here in preparation. He's one of the moderators. Salem Media Group, our parent company, is the official radio partner along with NBC, Rumble, and the Republican Jewish Coalition for tonight's third GOP presidential debate and five candidates are going to be on that stage. One thing I know for sure, they're going to have a decidedly somber tone tonight. They're going to be serious. We know with Hamas and the war in Israel and, frankly, with the shellacking that the GOP took last night, particularly in Virginia, Republicans have a ton of work to do. And the abortion problem has to be dealt with. There's no way around it. You can stomp your feet and you can say, I'm a proud pro -life American and I'm not going to bend or you're going to never win another election again. Abortion is winning for the Democrats, Mark. Now, those of you who say I'm pro -life and I'm not going to give an inch, I respect it. I admire it. I wish I wish the world worked that way. I'm sickened to say this. America's in love with abortion in this country. Find somebody in your life to love you the way Democrats love abortion. And increasingly, non -ideological folks in the squishy, mushy middle, they just flip a coin and go, all of the things being equal. I want abortion. Right. That's where we have a lot of work to do. And brow beating those people isn't going to work anymore, Mark, sitting around calling them baby killers, et cetera, et cetera. No, it just isn't going to work. Well, no, but it is what the procedure is. But I don't ever want to antagonize people. And I know you're right. In fact, let me let you finish, because I just want to see if you're wanting our Republican field to simply be demonstrably less pro -life to say, you know what, maybe we do need to allow more abortions in the following way, because I don't – No, I think I really do believe it comes down to the messaging. I don't know that Republicans – first of all, millions and millions of dollars of outside money were poured into Ohio last night by radical abortionists who convinced women that you're losing a fundamental right if you vote no on this horrific, radical – I mean, abortion now in Ohio is legal literally to the moment of conception. And in fact, parents now – Moment of birth. Moment of birth, I mean. And incidentally, parents don't even have a say in a minor child's decision to abort a baby. Now, you've got to give an okay to get a tattoo in Ohio. Yeah, exactly. Get a Tylenol in your high school. That's right. But not to get an abortion. But we lost. We got thumped on this. We got thumped on this. And we've gotten thumped on it every single time, Mark. It's not a close call. Something isn't working and Democrats are going to embrace this going into 2024. Does that mean you become decidedly pro -life? Well, I think for starters, you change the messaging as best you can. But I'm afraid that the answer you're not going to want to hear is, yeah, probably so. In 10 seconds, I think you meant decidedly pro -choice. No. Decidedly – do we become decidedly less pro -life? Yeah, less pro -life. Yeah. Do we become decidedly less pro -life? And that's the horrific reality of – how many times is it going to have to happen, Mark? How many times are we going to say, well, we're losing another election. We've lost every single election on the abortion issue since Roe v. Wade was overturned. And Mark, with all due respect, I love you. It's not just Democrats. It's not just squishy Republicans. It's women. It's women voters who believe they are – that somehow this right that is enshrined in the Constitution – oh, and oh, by the way, it's not – is being taken from them. And it's not – we just – we're not going to win by wagging our fingers at the people who don't see the world. You and I aren't where the country is on this, Mark. We're not. We are where conservatives are. And so the question becomes – and by the way, everything you've said is true and plausible and supportable. So, as we look at a presidential election and some folks on a debate stage tonight in a country where now it is left to the states, what Ohio did last night is precisely the way America goes in post -Roe v. Wade America. That's what we said we wanted. And we knew full well that there would be states that did things that we liked and states that did things that we didn't. How about if the candidates we have – and it's kind of interesting. I don't know how pro -life Chris Christie is. I know DeSantis is. I think Nikki Haley is. I sure know Tim Scott is. I think Vivek is. So should they express their – maybe satisfaction is the wrong word – their acceptance of post -Roe v. Wade America, where states are going to do what they wish to do and Ohio can do what they wish to do, but that they are going to continue to be a voice and use their presidential bully pulpit to say that protecting life is a better way, while saying that the states can do what they want to do? Well, I'm not going to be president of Ohio. I'm not going to be president of Nevada. I'm not going to be – etc. Go ahead. But that's happening. That's happening. Let me tell you. Well, let me break it to you. Roe v. Wade being overturned meant that states get to decide what to do. States are deciding what to do and they're pro -abortion. Yes. They are. Every single state. There's not a state that's deciding in favor of the pro -life movement. You know, you can say, well, we're the good conservatives in this. Except, except, except heartbeat bills, heartbeat bills, heartbeat bills in Florida, in Texas, in other states. So – Well, but that's not legislation that conflicts with what is perceived to be a woman's right to choose an abortion being taken from her. You're so right. I mean, Glenn Youngkin has floated the 15 -week idea. And let's talk about Glenn Youngkin, incidentally, because there were high hopes for Virginia. And hey, Virginia, we got our butts kicked. I mean, they flipped the legislature. They didn't even – in fact, that wasn't even on the radar. They were hoping – we were hoping that Glenn Youngkin would lead a flip of the Senate over there. They lost it all. They lost the whole state legislature. Guess what? Glenn Youngkin is no longer going to be considered a candidate for president. I've got a buddy here – Well, he never was. Well, but keep an eye on him. He's not – Not this year. I mean, does he have a future? Of course he does. Look at him at 2028. But I have a guy here, Alfredo Ortiz, who's a dear friend, the CEO of Job Creators Network, and he had a theory. In fact, he's going to be with me tomorrow here in Miami. They're sponsoring our broadcast from the post -debate spin room. Alfredo said, if Virginia has a huge night last night, Glenn Youngkin will throw his hat in the ring as the 11th -hour savior of the Republican Party. Wouldn't matter. There's no room. That would be – It's too late. That would be – It's too late. It wouldn't matter. But anyway, he got shellacked. I mean, it was a bad night for him. It was a bad night for the GOP, and there's no way around it. Hey, Tate Reeves is still governor of Mississippi, yay. We kept one. We got that. We got that. We got some – and Joe Biden is still dropping like a rock in all the polls. And Trump is rocking and rolling and continues to lead in five swing states. So there's just data all over the place that are mixed as to what 2024 is going to look like. But you get an interesting view at five people who really want to catch Trump, and not a single one of them probably will. But it'll be fun to watch anyway. What do you think happens tonight? Yeah, it'll be kind of – What's the headline? What do you think? I'm going to keep an eye on Chris Christie because I'm just praying he starts screaming at his own audience and they start booing him. Exactly. And they start throwing orange peels and banana peels at him. I mean, that thing in Orlando, I played that clip. I'm sure you did, too. Sure. Oh, my. Have you ever seen a public – And what's the word again? I'm sorry. Your failure to embrace the truth is – Reprehensible. Thank you. I keep going deplorable, but that was Hillary, and we'd see how great that worked out for her. No, no. Reprehensible. Reprehensible. When you're talking to your own people – Yes. And calling them reprehensible – The people you're trying to get to vote for you, ideally. Not a good look. And I think – and interestingly, Hewitt and I last night, we had a great Salem party. And listen, we're very proud of this. I mean, say what you will about the meaninglessness. It's a big deal for us. Of course it is. For Salem to partner with NBC, and Hugh's going to be on that stage. Which means at least one conservative will be asking questions. Exactly. While Kristen Welker asks everybody about January 6th, at least Hugh will be there. And let me give you a scoop. Hugh is exhausted. Last night was the ninth rehearsal they had for this debate. I said nine? How do you rehearse? What do you do? You put staffers up at various lecterns and have ads just to kind of get through the drill? They put a couple hundred people in the audience. They test these guys because he – and he said Lester Holt and Kristen Welker have been just pros. He said Kristen's kind of the new kid on the block, but Lester's a veteran journalist. But they've got to be ready for everything. I mean, Hugh's ready for eruptions from the audience and how do you handle that and how do you interact. Anyway, they've had nine rehearsals for tonight's debate. And also, Hugh gave me a scoop. He said, watch DeSantis' performance. He has just hired fairly recently one of the best debate preparers in the business. I don't – I forgot the guy's name. I'll try to get it. I think it's Brad. I could not care less. Well, I know. But it's – Binders don't matter. Prep doesn't matter. DeSantis is DeSantis and he's wonderful. He's not Trump. DeSantis' worst problem is that Trump exists. I'll never forget the caller or the person who tweeted or something said that the only problem with DeSantis is he was not the best president of my lifetime. And Trump was. Trump exists. There's nothing the matter with DeSantis. There's nothing wrong with Nikki Haley except she's the queen of forever war. You heard Nikki Haley the other day saying the people who will abandon Ukraine are the people who will give up on Israel. Shut up, man. That's not smart. That's not a smart thing. But I can't wait. I know it may not matter at all. It's half the interest if Trump were there. Trump will be there down the road in Hialeah, you said, right? Heavily Cuban -American population there. That's going to be fun. And he's loved in Hialeah. Well, we'll be in the Spin Room tonight beginning about 6 p .m. Central Time. We'll have pre -debate coverage. Let's watch you. Let's watch you. Tell everybody how to watch you. Well, listen to us on the radio. I'm pretty sure we'll be on AM 660 The Answer tonight. As the radio partners, we're going to be here at 6 p .m. prior to the debate. The debate will be aired live and then I'll be in the Spin Room post -debate, hopefully talking to all the candidates or many of them in the Spin Room here. And you could also watch us on Salem News Channel pre - and post -debate. So it's going to be a big night, you know? And we're ready to go. And then I'll be back tomorrow here in Miami with you to wrap everything up. Is that room? Because it's funny, we've all done conventions, like convention coverage and the entire week of doing broadcasting from a convention. And the morning after the convention is like done, you and I still have shows to do. But all you can hear is the pipes and the drapes and just the clang, clang. I will not be here. As the trucks are off. But what in the world is that room, that beautiful room you're in? I won't know. It's beautiful now. It'll be rock and roll and post -debate. What's that thing? Are you just going to be run over by workers and forklifts tomorrow? I won't know because I'm not going to be here. I'll be at Salem, Miami. I'm going to be a few miles away at a nice comfy radio studio. There you go. We'll be at the Salem Radio Miami studio. Excellent. That's a very smart decision. I'll see you tomorrow, my friend. Here we go. We're ready for you. It's a big day and night of Mike. Can't wait for his show. The next up, the first thing you need to consume is Mike's own radio program. And that's at 10. Soon as we're done. On 660 AM. The answer. Hurry into the Ram Black Friday sales event for great deals on the trucks that give you all the power you need and all the luxury you could ask for. Fresh update on "2028" discussed on The Hugh Hewitt Show: Highly Concentrated

"So this is Christmas. Welcome back. I'm Hugh Good. This is Christmas, 2023, a real war for Israel's survival, real monsters who murdered 1200 people, injured 5,000, kidnapped 240. Yemen firing missiles at anything that moves, including it looked like it was aiming at the USS Carney, but we're not sure. Iran plotting it all, Hezbollah filling up with Syrians and Iranians and 140,000 missiles. The IDF fully mobilized and ready to go to war, regional war in the offing and two Mediterranean sea task force, carrier task force. That's Christmas, 2023. Ukraine on war funding, Xi getting ready to invade Taiwan or at least thinking about it and pretending like he's going to do it and antisemitism all over the United States. And what does the beltway chattering class do? They, as one in unison, begin to warn of not the antisemitism, not the Hamas monsters, not Xi and the genocide in Taiwan, not Putin and Ukraine. They warn about Donald Trump being ahead in the polls. Now, I am in Switzerland. I do not know who's going to win. I am a fair broker between the former president, Governor DeSantis, Ambassador Haley, Governor Christie. I think Vivek is done. So we're down to four. And I think we're really down to three. Like Governor Christie a lot, great guests, but I think we're really down to three and it's overwhelmingly likely, not overwhelmingly, like 75% chance that Donald Trump will be the nominee and I will vote for him. And he isn't going to be a tyrant and he isn't going to be a dictator. He's going to be a president for one term and whoever he selects is vice president. And I think he had to select either Senator Tom Cotton, Congressman Mike Gallagher, former Secretary of State Mike Pompeo, former national security advisor Robert O'Brien, Senator Joni Ernst or Senator Dan Sullivan. All of them have military experience. Some of them have combat experience. All of them are serious on national security. And whoever is the VIP selectee will be the prohibitive nominee in 2028, Donald Trump, if he wins, and I think he probably will win. I studied the polls and this is why the Democrats and the never Trumpers are freaking out. Donald Trump will probably win and he will govern differently. He will know a lot more. He will know how many people he needs to bring in and he will know how many people he can fire and he will do it all rather ruthlessly and immediately. He will throw out at DOJ everyone who needs to be thrown out and there are many of them are Schedule A and they can be fired and it will be good for the country. And he's going to shuffle all the chairs over at the State Department and at the Department of Defense and he's going to put in serious people. He knows who the serious people are now. Took him a while to learn, but he's a developer and developers learn all the time. If anyone would just put on instead of their beltway hat, put on their real world hat and okay, what do developers do? They do exactly what Donald Trump does. They get an idea. They work it, work it, work it. If it doesn't work, they abandon it and they move on to the next one. And they are whatever they need to be in whatever room they are to get their project approved and moving forward. And Donald Trump will do that. Why are all the people going crazy? And I named them all for you. Why are they writing about Trump dictator? Well, number one, likely that he's going to win and Biden is infirm and no one's going to vote for Kamala Harris ever. So the Democrats have screwed themselves because they stuck with Joe Biden too long. And so Donald Trump's going to win. And a Trump Biden head to head. I think Donald Trump wins fairly easily, in fact, because the American people are scared right now because they see what's going on in the world and they see the anti-Semitism. The people that Donald Trump disintermediated from influence and often money in 2017. And there were many that Donald Trump disintermediated. People who ran the town, people who were Beltway regulars. I came back to town in 2015 and I saw it happen in real time. People were angry. They lost their gigs. They lost their jobs. They lost their influence. Well, those people, not only will they be disintermediated, they will be utterly irrelevant and laughing stocks. So ignoring the sunk costs of having been never Trumpers in 2015, 2016, they are doubling down and becoming triple never Trumpers. They're putting all their chips, they're all in, and they're out of the game completely. Nobody will care what they get, think or otherwise believe. If we get to the end of this cycle, Donald Trump is President Trump again. And you've got Vice President Cotton or Vice President Gallagher or Vice President Pompeo or Vice President O'Brien or Vice President Ernst or Vice President Sullivan. And he staffed the Department of Justice with a senator and all the cabinet senators get confirmed, taken all senators from red states. He stepped up. He brought back some of his hardcore brass knuckled people. But they abide by law because the rule of law is very strong in the United States and the Constitution is very strong. And Donald Trump put constitutionalists on the Supreme Court. So if he goes too far anywhere with an executive order here, an executive order there, it'll get struck down by the Roberts Court. Always happens that way. I have great confidence in the Constitution. I do not worry about tyranny in the United States. I do worry about anti-Semitism. I do worry about Hamas. I do worry about Iran. I do worry about Russia. I worry about Xi Jinping.

Dan Bongino: The Left Is Always Fighting for Someone Else's Money

"Gorillas in the mist and all? I go out there and I study the left. And here's the problem with socialism. You're always fighting for someone else's money. So the problem of them is you're limited by the pool of someone else's money because you're not actually creating your own. See, the thing about liberals are that they suck. See, liberals suck. That's the thing about liberals. They suck. Matter of fact, I announced on Friday and earlier on my podcast today as well to the podcast audience, it's a big day. I announced that I am going to be in fact running for president. Yes, you heard it here first last Friday. Dan, now I thought you endorsed Trump. I did. Of course I'm not running now. Oh, 2028. No, probably not that either. What about 32? Probably not. About 36. I don't know, maybe, but probably not that either. So what are you announcing? I'm announcing a future run at some date because liberals suck. And one of the reasons liberals suck is they don't create anything. They suck at taxes. They suck at regulation. They suck at school choice. suck They at health care. They suck at public safety. They suck at policing. They suck at national security. They suck at diplomacy. They suck on cultural issues, race issues, sexual issues, you name it. Liberals suck. That's going to be my whole platform. Everybody down? The Facebook audience loved it last week. My platform is only this. Liberals suck. And when you suck as bad as they do, they're always fighting for scraps from the table. They don't create anything. So the cannibalism theory is that eventually, because you're fighting for the scraps from a fixed pie, that the pie runs out. And eventually, you'll start eating each other because there's no pie

Fresh update on "2028" discussed on Tech Path Crypto

"All right, looking at yearly highs now, of course, Bitcoin is flying through the charts. We'll break down a little bit of that, along with some ETH news and give you guys some insights as to where maybe Ethereum is going to be going, give you guys a full rundown. My name is Paul Baron. Welcome back into Tech Path. Before we get started, I want to thank our sponsor, and that is iTrust Capital, looking at long-term holding. You get into a crypto IRA, one thing you can do, obviously, with Bitcoin and Ethereum, but you can also get into a ton of altcoins over there, and you will be joining a ton of people. What it is now is up to 200,000 accounts, 7 billion in transactions. The way it works, very simple. You can start an IRA. You can either port one in, or you can do all sorts of maneuvers around your own tax position. Make sure and check that out. Use our link down below. You get a $100 funding reward if you use our link, so it helps the channel out. All right, let's get into a few points here. I want to talk about a couple of things in reference to, is this bull market real? Because there are still people out there pushing toward a complete reversal that is coming at us. Question mark will be, is what causes that? What are the things that you could be looking at? This tweet right here, S &P, one of the best November performances in a century. That's now up 19% year-to-date. Nasdaq up 35. Bitcoin soared 150%. Gold is hitting its record highs. Few investors have anticipated such a bullish year unfolding. If you just look at that right there, look at that. That's all green, man. That's crazy. Apple, Tesla, Amazon, GE, I mean, it's just all over the board, much less what we see within the market. I'd love to get your feedback. Do you guys think we are in a full-on bull run right here? Make sure and just give us some comments down below. It is the thing that helps us understand what you guys love to talk about here on the show. And make sure to hit the smash and hit the smash that like button. Do it right now. It helps the channel and it also helps people kind of discover what's happening out there within the markets as well. Maybe they're brand new to crypto. All right. I want to go to a clip real quick. This is on CNBC talking about Bitcoin breaking $40K. Listen in. A couple of things are happening here. For one, the market, as you mentioned, is expecting to finally see a rate cut in the coming year after recent comments from Fed Chair Powell last week. But really the big thing on everyone's mind are the spot Bitcoin ETFs. Traders are increasingly bullish that the SEC will approve one of those applications by the first quarter of 2024, potentially as early as mid-January. This would allow investors to buy into digital currency directly through the same mechanism that they already use to buy stocks and bond ETFs. So you've got top asset managers, including BlackRock, Wisdom Tree and Invesco, that have filed applications with the SEC. And part of why this is so significant, Bernstein points out in a note today that the spot Bitcoin ETFs are really the largest pipe ever built between traditional financial markets and crypto financial markets. They're expecting that 10% of Bitcoin in supply, or around $300 billion, will ultimately be managed by these ETFs by 2028. Meanwhile, crypto pegged stocks also moving higher this morning. Digital asset exchange Coinbase up more than 6%, MicroStrategy more than 7%. And Bitcoin Miner, Marathon Digital up more than 9%. Also worth noting, Coinbase is that custody partner for a lot of these spot Bitcoin ETF applications. Their stock was up more than 60% in November, Mike. Back to you guys. All right. So you guys get the picture real quick. This is at least a lot of indicators that push toward a bull market. Bitcoin bull market tracks to other major price rallies. This was a couple of points I wanted to focus on here in this article. Up nearly one fifth over the past month, that's 150% over the year to date. Also on par with Meta, but trailing Nvidia. This of course is correlating Bitcoin at 42K with what's happening in the big seven when you think about just traditional stocks. Another thing that was kind of noted here, while not an exact science, standard definitions say the bull markets are confirmed when an asset climbs 20% from recent lows and bear markets are of course confirmed if a demand, a 20% drop from prior highs. So if that were the case, if it was using textbook models here, then we definitely are in a bull run. But again, I think this all boils down to what's happening. If you look at some of the indicators, if you look at historical market cycles, and you can kind of see the one that we had here recently, and then where we might be in the current one, and this of course is right where we're starting to take off right now. Is this the marker where Bitcoin, hitting the 40K, possibly 42, do we get a little bit of a retrace right here, and then we have a full on bull run? What would that look like? Because cycle wise, in terms of happening and whether or not you believe it or not, I've had many people on the show here recently just think it's another thing that just adds to this. Obviously the ETF's a big part of this, but I'd love to know your position. Do you feel like this is the position right now where Bitcoin and the crypto market start to really excel? Other things I want to hit on right here of course, and that is digital and physical gold is rallying at the same time. Many people look at this and think that Bitcoin and gold correlates quite uniquely, other than Peter Schiff. But the point being is, is that Bitcoin and gold, now gold hitting a recent all time high, and Bitcoin of course, pretty much on its way, have not seen these numbers since the last bull run going to 69K. So what do you think is going to happen around this? This is a big one. Peter Schiff of course looks at it. You know, the typical Peter tweet right here, gold pulling back now below 21 has provided catalyst for Bitcoin's spike near 41. So he's looking at some of the real granular moves that are happening. This could be Bitcoin's swan song. The speculative frenzy around Bitcoin's ETF will end soon.

And then obviously our football stuff, all our culture stuff as well. And we're gonna have a big announcement on this podcast on Thursday about an upcoming show you might not be expecting. Coming up in this pod, I'm gonna talk about the Clippers trading for James Harden at the top and why I thought it was a huge mistake. And then our old friend Mike Lombardi, we're gonna talk about the trade deadline in the NFL as well as what team that seemingly looks like their season's almost over might actually jump in the second half of the year. And then last but not least, we're gonna talk Italian movies and Italian TV shows because why not? This is a fun podcast. First, our friends from Pearl Jam. ["PURL JAM"] All right, I'm taping this on Tuesday before the Clippers game on Tuesday night. The Clippers traded for James Harden late night. They tried to do this as late as possible at night when the most possible people were asleep because they were embarrassed by this trade. And they should be because they're the Clippers. They haven't made the finals ever in the history of the franchise, dating back to Buffalo in 1970, talking five and a half decades of bad luck, terrible injuries, mismanagement. We had the Donald Sterling piece of it. We had load management. And in the last couple of years, they've had some of the worst playoff losses of the 21st century. And now they're trading for a guy who's quit on his last three teams. So they decided, you know what, we'll do this in the middle of the night on the East Coast at least. So we'll take the least amount of slack. They were bidding against nobody. There's 30 teams in the league. One of them had James Harden. 28 other teams were like, we're good. And the Clippers said, you know what, we need this guy. We'll still be not nearly as good as Denver, but if we do this, maybe we could lose in either round two or round three, maybe? I just feel like they don't have any draft picks left for the rest of the decade. So they basically traded three picks for James Harden. The worst one was a 2028 unprotected first. Why do this now? Why do this for a team with no other offers? Why bid against yourself? And why not just wait? If you know you're trading basically two and a half picks plus all these expirings they had, why not wait? The league, I don't know if you've watched it the first week, the league is more talented and more loaded than it's ever been, probably in 30 years. And there's a really, really, really good chance that a couple teams that thought they were gonna be good are not gonna be good. Like for instance, Memphis is 0 -4. Or is Memphis gonna go 25 and 57? Probably not. But there's gonna be a couple teams that are just way worse than they expected. And guess what happens after Thanksgiving and in December and in January? Those teams panic. Guys become available. Like what if Toronto is bad? What if they're like, you know what, Pascal Siakam, this just isn't working for us. What if Chicago, who's already had two team meetings, I think, in three games, what if they decide to put Zach Levine on the table? Like you just don't know. What you do know now is that there was only one team bidding for James Harden and the Clippers ended up with him anyway. The other thing, if you're giving up this much for one guy, I better know that I have a chance to actually win the title. And I just don't feel like they do. I went to the game Sunday night. Kawhi, he looks fine. He looks fine. Does he look like the Kawhi from the mid -2010s? No. Does he look like the guy from 2019 Toronto? He does not. He looks like an older playing himself back in the shape version of Kawhi. And if that's your best player, that's just not gonna be enough this year. The Celtics are too good. Denver is too good. Milwaukee has Giannis and Dame. Phoenix has a ton of scoring. Golden State's gonna be really good. They're still not in the mix. So that was my first issue. The second one, who are you getting? Who are you getting in this trade? Where you're getting I .S. Quinn on three teams. You're getting the most disappointing playoff star this century, literally this century. And there's no other person you can put in there. There's nobody who has even half of the qualifications from a playoff disappointment standpoint that this guy does. Zach Lowe came on the Book of Basketball podcast, I think in 2019, we did a James Harden podcast. And in that podcast, which was four years ago, called him the Karl Malone of guards. And I was immediately the most jealous I've ever been of a comparison. Since then, he had the 2020 bubble flame out. Then they had in 2022, the Miami series, which he sucked in. And then in 2023, the Celtic series, this guy, it's an all time resume. And the Clippers who are just playoff futility through and through for the entire franchise history were like, that's the guy. That's the guy that can take the lovable loser Clippers over the top, James Harden. He slows you down. He needs the ball all the time. The Clippers now have Paul George, who succeeds the most when he has the ball. Koulai Leonard, who has perennially succeeded the most when he has the ball. Russell Westbrook, who loves to either have the ball or crash the boards. And now Harden, who needs the ball. See four guys who need the ball. Then Norm Powell comes in, he needs the ball. Bones Holland comes in, he needs the ball. Are we playing with three balls now? No, we're gonna still play with one. James Harden can't guard anybody. That seems relevant. He hasn't played defense in four years.

A highlight from INDIA KICKS OFF BULL RUN! (Bitcoin To $125,000)

"Today is a great day to discover crypto. We got a lot of stories. And, guys, I am so excited for the markets right now, and I'll tell you why I'm so excited. Someone pointed out a very interesting aspect to me. We are a 2X away from all -time highs, folks. Let that soak in for a second. A 2X away from all -time highs. I know we've been trading sideways two, three days. This might be your opportunity to jump in because we're seeing a lot of global adoption. We got a lot of stories. We're going to be talking about India today and why India is important for crypto adoption, Bitcoin adoption, the global currency we all know, love, and respect. I'm talking about my orange friend, Bitcoin. I'm going to rotate it, and we carved in the B. Oh, wait, no, we haven't done it yet, but we're going to do it soon, folks. Folks, we're going to talk about Bitcoin already in a fifth bull run. People are saying a potential $125 ,000 price target, and that thing might happen sooner than you think. Now, how do you feel about the $125 ,000, and why is India and some of these other countries so important for Bitcoin adoption, Joshua? What are you thinking here? Yeah, so, of course, I'm going to pull this up actually on the screen here in just a second, but India, guys, a lot of you have heard about them because the whole BRICS narrative popping up. They're one of the largest GDP countries in the BRICS nations. It's going to be Brazil, Russia, China, India, and South Africa. And obviously, guys, India is set to overtake Japan as the third largest economy by 2030. Now, just this month, their inflation dropped by over an entire percent. Now, I wish this was happening in the United States because we are looking to be a lot more stickier. Their inflation is definitely, yes, above us a little bit, but if you guys didn't know, India's stocks have been actually performing very, very well. They've gone stagnant about these last two to three weeks, but over the summer, moving into August, September, and October, there was a lot of money from India's economy just flooding into these small cap altcoins. So, with the article that Deezy is going to break down here in just a little bit, this could be a huge reason in why we're seeing them start to turn to new altcoins and pump that market up like Solana, Ethereum, and et cetera. So we're seeing this growth, this impact come out of India's economy. We have them actually now focusing on semiconductors, which I'll show you in this, I pulled up one of these articles. I got a couple up here just a second. But this is where a lot of people are starting to project and analysts and economists are saying, hey, is India the next China? Because right now on the projection by 2030, they're going to be overtaking Japan. But right now they're working with the United States to perhaps become the largest semiconductor producer in the globe, especially with all of the uncertainty around the CHIPS Plan 4 Act that was released by the Biden administration pushing semiconductors out. So this is bullish for India's economy. This shows signs that they're, one, looking into a lot more tech stocks. They're starting to get a little bit more lively in their stocks. And this is going to flood right over into the article, Deezy, if you have it pulled up for Solana. Yeah, we're going to roll into CoinMarketCap first, look at the market watch here. But I have a hot theory, hot theory on India. I think it might happen before 2030 and it's going to be for two reasons and two reasons mainly. One is going to be power, energy. They're really, really into nuclear. Then we have the tragic event that happened on Japan's coastline around a decade ago. And so they're a little bit understandably hesitant on nuclear technology. So as India grows and really expands their nuclear capabilities, probably looking at China as an example, that's really going to push them forward. The second factor is going to be the birth rates, especially when you look at Japan's birth rate compared to India's birth rate is very, very different ends on the spectrum right there. So I think we're going to accelerate like 2028 is going to be Deezy's prediction here. All right, let's get into CoinMarketCap or yeah, yeah, today we're looking at CoinMarketCap. The CoinMarketCap is down, however, but we are still up above $125 trillion. We have 24 -hour volume. It's a little, let me move it for you folks so you can see here, we're moving, we're moving, we're moving. Live adjustments happening. All right, so we go to the CoinMarketCap, you can see here, 24 -hour volume down 25%. It was very hot yesterday. Bitcoin dominance, 53%, gas also cooled down, is down to 25 Gwei right now. And then the fear and greed, we're above 69, coming in at 71. But now it's time to look at some prices. All right, you know what, I was so excited, I was so bullish. But now Bitcoin's below $34 ,000. So maybe I'm just going to flip bears, folks. I'm just kidding. It's a little bit of a pullback. We're kind of hanging around in this, some are saying maybe a Bart Simpson's forming, some are saying a bullpen. We're going to be looking at the charts later, don't you worry. Also, we have ETH cooling down a little bit. Both Bitcoin and ETH down about 0 .4%, BNB up about 2 % here. Solana, we are going to be talking about Solana in relation to India very shortly. It is up 2 % here. And TonCoin, but let's just go ahead and look at the exciting movements here. This is what everyone wants to see. NIO is up almost 18 % today, Injective up 12%. And then Floki, Floki is back into the top 100. So we might be seeing some Floki. TJ, what is your thoughts on Floki? I don't really have a lot of thoughts on Floki, but it is interesting seeing NIO moving because I... Okay, what's your history with NIO? It's an older coin. Yeah, NIO is just an old, you know, a lot of people think of it back in 2017 as the Chinese Ethereum. It makes me think of Justin Sun is actually what it makes me think about. So there's Tron, there's NIO. But I noticed a lot of things, you know, Jestland was moving today, which was interesting. A lot of things in the Justin Sun ecosystem had some movements there, which is just interesting to me, you know. But it's very fascinating when you see a lot of these very old projects start to move seemingly out of nowhere. I know we've got some other projects that had some big pumps that we're going to talk about a little bit later, potential Amazon partnership and some of that stuff. So yeah, seeing NIO moving is interesting. Injective still pulling back from, you know, where it was earlier in the week. Look at these weekly pumps for these two coins. Injective up 50%, Floki is doubled. ThorChain is up almost 50%, DYDX up 30%. We have some serious weekly movers here. NEAR Protocol is up, Flow is up. You know, TJ was talking about NEAR yesterday. IMX is up as well. I was talking about that one. All right, let's look at the biggest losers. Now we're on a new page. It's no longer CoinGecko. It's now on CoinMarketCap. The streak will discontinue, will not have any of my coins on here, and I guarantee it as a possibility. All right. We have TonCoin. I don't know how. God dang it, Mina. All right. Then it's Bitcoin SV is down almost 4%, Mina Protocol down 2 .5%, Arbitrum, Aave, and HBAR. What are your thoughts on HBAR? Oh, I got quite the history with Henera. But Henera is one of my actually top choices in 2021. I got in very, very early, so respectively made a lot of gains off of it. But you know, HBAR just over time, we've seen a lot of the inflation in their tokenomics with their release kind of be based on how bullish the market is. So if the token price is up, the team is releasing more tokens into the market and diluting a little bit more. So unfortunately - So we can see here circulating supply is 67 % for HBAR. You can kind of maybe see just the cutoff right there. So here again - Yeah. And they're pulling up. And so that dilution was coming in. And so unfortunately HBAR was one of the contenders that did not receive all -time highs again in that second cycle of our last bull run. So just from a volume perspective, I definitely would like to see a lot more price action come from probably the marketing and talking about their governance council and actually probably doing some more public release and statements of their partners that they have. But I do like HBAR, but some people don't because it's a little bit more towards a centralized aspect of B2B. And so it's kind of like you got to choose between that middle ground. All right. Yeah, it looks like a range. If you got in early, you're looking pretty good. You got in under a nickel. It went all the way up to $0 .50. You can kind of see it right here. I don't know if you could zoom in and up there. And then now coming in around a nickel. So if it reaches all -time high, previous all -time high, you're looking at a 10X there. So I know there's a lot of HBARbarians in the chat. All right. Let's talk about India. Let's talk about India's relationship to crypto. Can India propel us into that super cycle that TJ thinks we might have? Can India propel us to the six -digit Bitcoin? I certainly think it is possible. But first, what is India like? All right. So there's a new altcoin, maybe not a new altcoin, but now Solana is reaching Ethereum's level of popularity in India, says analysts here. Ethereum has long held the prominent position. However, recent data indicates that Solana is increasingly becoming the preferred choice in various global markets, with India being the noteworthy example here. Further submitting its position in the Indian ecosystem, is there marketing tailored specifically to resonate with Indian developers here so they know, hey, how do you get your crypto to really, really have a large impact on the world? One element is going to be community. The other element is going to be the developers. What can the coin actually do? What can the chain actually do? It looks like they have a pretty smart strategy by targeting the developers. In that nation of 1 .3 billion people, if I'm not mistaken, the accompanying chart reinforces this narrative from the latter part of 2023. It's a notable uptick in Solana's trajectory. The SARP ascent, particularly in the last quarter, indicates not just increased interest, but also a growing trust in stability and potential on the return here. You can see the chart right there. Yeah, nice little breakout of a lot of these moving averages. I believe a 200 and a 50 right there. So I'm feeling pretty good about Solana at these prices. It is hot. It might need to cool down. Maybe it's going to come back down to mid -20s, potentially even low 20s if we get really bears for a short term. But Solana, I definitely think you're going to be looking good if you hold it today and sell a year and a half from now. So why sell up 44 %? Real quick, we did have a question from the chat, PLSuperChat, appreciate that. He's asking for your thoughts on CRO, Kronos, or I guess that's crypto .com, Kronos chain. Any opinions? Yeah, you know, I kind of gave my broad thoughts on it. I think it's going to be a great retail pump. So you know, maybe you want to get in early. I don't know when the exchange tokens are going to pump, but I do think the exchange tokens will pump. I think the FTX thing and you know, it's maybe kind of dampen the mood for a bit. It was a hot narrative about a year and a half ago, crypto .com is probably the best domain name in crypto. And so if you're a new person, you're coming in, you see it, you're watching some sports, you've seen crypto .com arena for five years, four years at this point, however long they've had the name rights, and you're thinking about downloading some, you're probably going to download Coinbase or crypto .com. And then you see, imagine you're new again, you remember when you're new, it doesn't matter what APY is, it doesn't matter what the yield, it doesn't matter where the yield comes from, you just see free money. Oh, if I buy 10 of these tokens next month, I might have 11 of these tokens. And so I think a lot of people are going to gravitate towards it. I just don't know when we get the exchange pump in relation to the retail market. I'll take the inverse. I, I'm saying I used to love exchange coins because of what was the progress we saw with BNB. I was thinking FTT would be similar, was thinking, you know, CRO could do similar things. At this point, with all the regulation coming out of the EU and the US, I don't know that exchange coin niche is the best place for this next bull run. Not saying it's impossible for it to pump. So if you're all in on CRO, you know, don't hate me. I'm not saying, you know, you have no shot, you know, there's always a chance in crypto, but there's so many different options out there right now. To me, I'm looking other places other than exchange coins. I guess I feel like there'll be a lot of pumps, TJ, you know, I feel like there would be a DeFi pump. There'd be a gaming pump. There'd be, you know, X, Y, and Z pump. Do you think exchanges will miss out on one of the pumps? You know, just like we saw AI pump and some of these other ones, will there be an exchange token pump? I see. My opinion is no, not like we've seen in the past because all of the heat with the regulators and basically they're using, they're targeting exchanges with exchange coins. So it's going to be tough for them to pump it. Follow up. Does that apply to BNB? Not as much BNB. BNB is a little bit more outside, but I do think there's a lot of pressure on it. So they're going to be targeted for legal. So yeah, I don't know. What do you think, Josh? Yeah, I would completely agree with the BNB statement, but for Kronos, there's two alpha points or perspectives I can give here. One is chat, make sure you again, smash that like button for more alpha and keep the pumps in the market going. But for crypto .com, something you guys can actually all do is when you pull out your phones and go on the app store, a very clear sign that we're moving into a high volume based market and now we're moving back into a boron is actually by simply going to the app store and seeing if crypto .com is starting to move up on that list of most utilized apps. So to TJ's perspective on exchange on Kronos ecosystem, I'm not going to be the biggest fan of. However, exchange tokens are something you kind of want to watch out for as we progress into a boron because they're going to make most of their money off exchange volume. And of course, if crypto .com, like DZ said, has probably the best name in all of crypto. So as that moves up on the markets and on the app store, you actually see that correlate right over to the price. Yeah. Because you see millions of downloads and you're like, oh, this must be one of the real ones. And I'm so scared because if I lose the seed phrase, I lose everything and I'm freaked out. They're gonna be very careful when I download my app here.

I'm Chris Mannix joined this week by my colleague at Sports Illustrated, Rohan Nadkarni. And Rohan, it's always good when we have some breaking news on the podcast. We are recording this on the day the NBA returns. Tuesday night, double header, Warriors Suns, Lakers Nuggets. That's going to be a lot of fun to watch on Tuesday. But the big story over the weekend was Giannis Atentecumpo once again saying, Milwaukee, you are my home. Giannis agreeing to a three -year, $186 million contract extension. We'll get into kind of the nuances of why this extension makes sense financially right now. And why he would do it now. And what kind of contracts he can sign in the future. But this was something I think that Bucs fans and the Bucs front office was optimistic about in the aftermath of Milwaukee acquiring Damian Lillard. But now, here we are with Damian Lillard under contract for the next four seasons. Giannis Atentecumpo under contract for, I believe, three of the next four seasons. I'll get the numbers right. But the last year's a player option of that deal. But he's under contract at least until his early 30s, putting him through his prime years in Milwaukee. Your reaction to this deal getting done at the 11th hour before the start of the season? Pretty surprised only because Giannis himself kind of mentioned early this summer why financially it wouldn't make the most sense for him to do it now. As you alluded to, there is some kind of not quite complicated math, but a series of steps that Giannis can undergo to kind of maximize the financial impact of taking this deal now. So he's still coming out ahead money -wise. I mean, I wrote when the Damian Lillard trade went down, I should say, that this was a huge win and it only becomes a bigger win for Milwaukee if Giannis signs. And that's what happened. And I think, listen, this team, the expectations still win a title, all those things. But for the city of Milwaukee, for the franchise, even if they don't win a title now, if you get another three or four years of Giannis at Centecumpo, you get his entire prime in Milwaukee. You put off the conversation, at least for a couple years, about whether he's leaving, etc. That's a huge win. It makes the Lillard trade a win already. It's really incredible work by their franchise. I mean, we sat here, Chris, I'd say at the beginning of the summer, kind of wondering aloud what moves are on the table for the Bucks because they looked a little bit boxed in at the start of the summer in terms of what they could do to improve the roster around Giannis. To go around and get Damian Lillard and then sign Giannis to an extension the same summer, when no one was expecting either of those moves, it's an unequivocal, unqualified, total home run for the Bucks. No, I tweeted this in the immediate aftermath. This was an executive of the year stretch for John Horst. Not only does he get Damian Lillard into the fold, which makes the Bucks better in the short term, he ensures long -term viability by getting Giannis' name on a contract. Just to clear up the math here and sort of explain what kind of deal Giannis has signed. He is under contract now for the next four years. This year's age 28 season, he's going to make $45 .6 million. Next year, he'll make $45 .8 million. The new deal kicks in in the 25 -26 season, which will put Giannis at $57 .6 million that year, $62 .2 million in 26 -27. He has a player option for 22 -28, which would be year five of this new deal that he's operating under, which is worth $66 .8 million. The reason that he signs this contract right now, and I want to give credit to Bobby Marks, the ESPN front office insider, because he's been able to explain this in a way even idiots like you and me can't understand. It's mutually beneficial for the two sides to do a deal like this right now. Because of that over 38 rule that exists, Giannis could sign a short -term extension again with Milwaukee in 2026, and then a four -year extension with the Bucks in 2028. What this deal is effectively doing, or the message it's sending, is that Giannis is a buck for life. He's going to be alongside Damian Lillard for the next four seasons. That's a guy we've talked about a lot. He likes Damian Lillard, and he wants to play with Damian Lillard. Not only is Giannis getting himself financially set up for the short term by signing this three -year extension, he is putting the dominoes in place to make the max possible amount of money over the next 10 years of his playing career. Anyone that might have been wondering if Giannis is going to be a buck over the long term, it sure looks right now that Giannis is going to be playing in Milwaukee for the entirety of his NBA career. I think we're looking, Rohan, at another Dirk Nowitzki. I think this is kind of a Dirk -like situation where the Bucks have shown Giannis enough. They've shown Giannis enough that he is willing to commit to this team long term. Absolutely. And I'll just leave a little bit of room. Our old friend Howard Beck wrote about it today for The Ringer that everything is great right now. Up until things change, if this flames out, whatever, we've seen stars request trades, etc. I'll leave a little room for that, but I'm with you. And I think it's great for the NBA. I really do. I want to see Jokic in Denver for his entire career. I want to see Giannis in Milwaukee for his entire career. We've kind of lost that the last few years with guys moving around teams so much. There's been this conversation this week, should Kevin Durant have his jersey retired in Golden State? I think it'll happen and I think it's fine, but it's just not the same. It's not the same as a guy like Giannis staying in one place for his entire career. It's refreshing to see. I think it's just so good for the league. I'm excited, man. I'm excited to see him battle with the Celtics this year. I miss the days when it felt like you could think these two teams are going to have to get through each other for the next few years. We're setting up for that with Giannis and Tatum for the next few years. As a basketball fan, I'm just really excited. I think you hit the nail on the head. I think he's going to be kind of remembered as this generation's Dirk for just how synonymous he is with Milwaukee. The fact that Giannis said the things he said earlier this summer, he said he wants to play for a winner, and backed it up, I just think says a lot about the kind of person he is. That was not just posturing or whatever. Milwaukee made some good faith moves, and he signed a good faith extension in return. To contrast this with Lillard's situation in Portland, Lillard committed to the Blazers, but he didn't demand action out of them before he committed to them. Giannis came out this offseason in multiple interviews and said, I'm paraphrasing, of course. You've got to make sure that you have a championship roster around me. He put a lot of pressure on the Bucs to get something done. To the Bucs credit, for the second time in three years, they pulled off a deal that made Giannis happy. Drew Holiday, his acquisition a few years ago, that made Giannis happy. Now, Damian Lillard bringing him in, that makes Giannis happy. He was able to use his status with the team to push them to go all in for a championship. Once they did, he committed. He was true to his word, and said he would commit to the Milwaukee Bucs. I do think that's commendable for Giannis as well. I think, short term, if you're looking for questions about the Bucs, there are a couple of them. Chris Middleton is the most glaring. I have no idea what to expect from Chris Middleton this year. He missed half the season last year. Then there's that weird, vague pre -season talk for me. Well, I'm going to get to that. I'm going to get to that. I like the coaching stuff. Chris Middleton, his status is a big variable here. I think with a healthy Chris Middleton, the Bucs are the number one team in the East. It's still close, because I think Boston is really good, obviously. But with Middleton, I think they're number one. Without him, I think they're number two. I'm anxious to see how healthy he is at the start of the season, and how healthy he can be throughout the season. The other part of it is coaching. This Terry Stotts story has kind of gone away over the last couple of days. Frankly, who really cares about an assistant coaching change on an NBA team? This is a real thing. Terry Stotts was given a hands -on role to effectively be the architect of this Bucs offense. We know this, because Damian Lillard came out last week and said, Look, this is the same offense I ran in Portland. The guys that are veterans on the Milwaukee team were coming to him and saying, Well, what about this? What about that? What's the right way to run this particular play? Terry Stotts was not just a sage voice on Adrian Griffin's bench. He was someone that was intimately involved and integrally involved in what this team does offensively. We've seen the reporting that there was some kind of public blow up at a shoot around or a practice between Terry Stotts and Adrian Griffin. I had not heard about that. I had heard in the hours after Stotts decided to leave the team that he just wasn't comfortable being Adrian Griffin's assistant coach. That's kind of what it came down to. Terry Stotts has been head coach in the NBA for a long time. He has had some levels of success as a head coach. Adrian Griffin came in and Adrian Griffin, people have told me he rides his assistants out there. He makes them work pretty hard. Adrian Griffin worked under Scott Skiles for a while, worked under a number of different coaches in different situations. Adrian Griffin had high expectations and demanded a lot from his assistant coaches. The way I was explained to me was Terry Stotts just wasn't comfortable with the dynamic, didn't like the dynamic with Adrian Griffin. Maybe that dust up in practice was the straw that broke the camel's back, but it felt like the people I talked to that it was coming. I don't think this is inconsequential. I really don't because now everybody else on that Bucs staff gets bumped up a seat. Now you don't necessarily have the guy on the bench with that kind of gravitas is the right word, but certainly experience that Terry Stotts brought to the table. I don't think we can dismiss his exit as nothing because I do think it's something. Yeah, not to mention his relationship with Damian Lillard, right? I mean, that's something that I think was probably providing Dame some level of comfort. He obviously posted a photo of them together on Instagram after. Take that for what it's worth. I mean Terry Stotts and Damian Lillard will always have a great relationship. Terry Stotts empowered Damian Lillard over nine years. Like took him on as a rookie and helped develop him into the player he became. So I can understand the loyalty between Lillard and Stotts. The one interesting thing about the Bucs and Celtics, I'd say, is the questions around their coaching staffs. You know, Missoula had to deal with it a lot last year, especially during the playoffs. Now listen, at the end of the day, he came within a game seven and Jason Tatum maybe not turned his ankle of making it to the finals. So maybe that stuff was overblown. But, you know, there's been a lot of talk about the assistance the Celtics added this summer and the reasons they needed to do that. Bringing in a guy like Jeff Van Gundy, for example, to consult with them. And the importance of that experience that it's a lot of pressure on Adrian Griffin in his first year to deliver a team with title expectations. And now he's losing his most experienced assistant coach. It's going to be very interesting. I think that's a serious variable for the Bucs. We've seen it cut both ways. I mean, we've seen Nick Nurse have a lot of success. We've seen Emei Yudoka have a lot of success. Other times it doesn't go as well. So I think it's going to be very interesting keeping an eye on just how the coaching staff in both Milwaukee and Boston ultimately affects what those teams do. I think one of the undercurrents of the Celtics summer, for example, was maybe moving on from some of the guys that didn't fully buy in with Missoula. Guys who necessarily didn't have the best relationship with him. So I don't know that it's going to make a huge impact because they're just so much more talented than the rest of the conference. But I'm interested to see how that plays out. Yeah, it certainly adds a wrinkle to what Milwaukee's trying to do this season. I think with such a slim margin between the Celtics and the Bucs, anything can make a difference. So that's worth keeping an eye on this year.

"Even though the Paris Olympics are a little less than one year away, International Olympic Committee people are already talking about the 2028 games when they come back to America and will be in Los Angeles. The other day they announced five new sports or five sports returning to the Olympics. Flag football, lacrosse, squash, cricket. The first time cricket's been played in the Olympics since 1900. And they're also bringing baseball for the men's softball for the women. What's interesting? Why do you bring back cricket? It's been gone for 120 plus years. Very simple. Because of its popularity in India, they can charge 100 million more dollars for advertising revenue. So Indian television makes more money, as does the IOC. I was surprised when they got rid of baseball a few years ago it was so popular. But flag football is the one that just leaves me with my head scratching. Now I realize American football, one of the most popular sports around the world. But flag football? Would you like to tell somebody you're an Olympian playing flag football? Just makes me shake my head sometimes. The things we do for money.

Capstone Conversation: Jared Asch Asks CCTA's Tim Haile About Transportation Taxes

"Let's talk about transportation taxes, right? Cause you talked about we're moving to a zero emission vehicle. So nobody's buying gas, maybe 2035. It'll definitely start reducing as no car in California will be allowed to be sold. That takes gas anymore. 2045, 2050, you're cycling out entire fleets, people that do have gas vehicles by that point. So it's going to seriously impact your funding. We've seen funding needed for BART, funding needed for transit agencies. We've talked about bridge toll increases, MTC, putting a regional ballot measure on for transit. And then CCTA has potentially a ballot measure coming up in the next 10 years. Just talk about a little bit of funding ballot measures, what people should know, inform us. Well, there's a lot of things happening right now. Uh, that's a tough question, but I think I'll, I'll put it this way. I think people are really fatigued on taxes and in transportation revenues. And I, and we all as transportation professional, we all recognize that. And I think, and I think the first thing we need to do in my, this is my opinion is we need to understand better where all the existing funding is going. Right. I think we need to hold ourselves accountable in terms of where this funding is going. And I was giving a presentation to a group a couple of weeks ago, and we were talking about this in terms of before you put another ballot on the measure, where, how are you going to show me that, that this is going to make an improvement? And I think that really comes down to being obviously transparent, but also having good data and being able to share that data. And I think that's something that we all have that data, but I think it's a matter of using that data to be able to demonstrate that the work that we've been doing for the last, especially with measure J we have been doing good work with measure J in fact, Contra Costa transportation authority, we were actually given an award for good governance by the Contra Costa County Taxpayers Association. And so I think something to know about CCTA is that we're only 20 people. We are a high performing agency. We operate this agency as Jared is almost like a private consulting firm. Like we hold ourselves accountable every single day. And I think that's what people are looking for. They're looking for government to be more efficient, more accountable. And, and I think once people understand that, that there's good governance, I think that's what's going to take to really help people understand that, okay, my money is going to good places. Yeah, maybe I can, you know, vote yes on another measure. But to your point, there is a lot of moving parts right now in terms of a regional housing measure in 2024, regional transportation measure in 2026, which quite frankly is there to address the transit fiscal cliff that's coming. And I think a lot of people, the general public, I don't, a lot of people don't even understand that there is a transit fiscal cliff that's coming. But I think, and that transit fiscal cliff is important because transit is important for everyone and especially for those that really need to use it. Like, like for example, the yellow line, the BART line that comes from San Francisco all the way to Antioch, it's the highest productive line in the Bay Area. Like people use BART in Contra Costa County. And so if BART, like right now, BART has a tremendous fiscal cliff and that's because their revenues are down, their fare box is down. Right now, I think they're right around 45 % pre -pandemic revenue levels, whereas before they were depending on 70, 75 % fare box return, that 30 % of revenue is gone. It's missing, right? And luckily the federal government stepped in and was able to provide, I'll call it gap funding. Just recently, the state jumped in and tried to provide some gap funding out to for the next four years. But this is really about transit doing two things in my opinion. One is getting creative and figuring out how to become more efficient and more, quite frankly, in some ways more accountable. And then two, what is that money going to do to improve the transportation system and what's the value proposition? Why should I take transit, right? What's the value proposition? I think that's what people are looking for is they're looking for the why of why are we doing this? And so I think that's a big part of the regional measure in 26. I will say locally here in Contra Costa County, we, the board of CCTA, which is comprised of about 14 elected officials, will be discussing and looking at potentially when we will be renewing Measure J because it does sunset in 2034. We may go out for a measure in 2028, 2032. I don't know. We have to have that discussion to be able to continue those revenues. And those revenues are important because without Measure J, everyone's commute in Measure J would be anywhere from 20 to 30 minutes longer in Contra Costa County without Measure J, which is significant, right? That's significant. And I don't think people realize that there's an agency like CTA with this local revenue source that is your transportation agency. We are focused on this every single day, trying to bring benefit to Contra Costans. And we're leveraging every local sales tax dollar that we can possibly can to provide the most benefit. And like I said, without that local dollar, everyone's commute. Can you imagine if we never built the Fort Board of the Caldecott Tunnel? What's 24? I'd be sitting there from last Friday. Yeah. Could you imagine if we never widened Highway 4 from two lanes to from two lanes to six lanes? Like it would be a mess still, right? It would still be considered the most dangerous highway in the country. And Measure J has brought in these really important improvements into Contra Costa County. And we've done it very well and very efficiently.

Contra Costa County Taxpayers California 70, 75 % 30 % 20 San Francisco 2026 First Contra Costa County Ccta 2024 Bay Area Antioch Last Friday 2045 2050 CTA 2035 2034 Two Things

A highlight from HOTTEST Altcoin Right Now! (What Is Ton Coin?)

"It's a story that spans 8 ,000 acres of Blue Ridge Mountain beauty bathed in shades of orange and crimson. Fall won't last forever. Savor it while you can at Biltmore. Plan your stay at Biltmore .com. The past six Septembers in a row have been bearish for Bitcoin, but there's another coin that's on the verge of breaking into the top ten that woke up well before September ended. Toncoin, that stands for the open network, is on a fast track to onboarding millions of users in the next few years thanks to their integration with Telegram. You might not know that Toncoin and Telegram have a controversial past that dates back years before the recent announcement. So let's dive in and discover crypto. My name is AJ writes crypto and today we are going to talk about Toncoin, which has practically gone viral in just the past week. Some of you might not know this, but back in 2018, Toncoin was actually developed by, guess who? Telegram. For the record, it was called Gram back then. But anyways, Telegram raised well over a billion dollars in fundraising, but unfortunately they had to give it back to the investors and pay an $18 .5 million fine to the SEC due to a violation of federal securities laws. They got sued by the SEC before they even got the wheels spinning. Classic. Once Telegram was forced to abandon the project to stay out of hot water, a handful of dedicated developers in the community took it over because since it's open source, the code was on GitHub and they knew they had something special on their hands. Well, what's so special about it? Do you know how Ethereum planned on working out their scalability issues with sharding? Well, this is something Toncoin already has figured out since the project was designed for millions and millions of people to use it. Toncoin has an intimidating block time of five seconds and a time of finality under six seconds, not to mention near instant cross shard communication. If you take a peek at their roadmap, you will see how far they've already come and they have been building out this massive ecosystem slowly but surely over the years. Toncoin is not just the blockchain. They're also building out a decentralized storage system, a payment settlement system, and a proxy that allows you to change your IP address with zero downtime. According to their website, they have gone as far to say that they're building the reliable internet of the future, kind of like ICP. And of course, they have NFTs, cross chain bridges, and DNS domain names as well. But AJ, what about the price action? If you want the drop on that, you're going to have to stick around to the end of the video. My question is, how did this layer one get to where it is now? Well, their beginnings help explain this because their current consensus mechanism is proof of stake, but they began as an IPOW or initial proof of work. In June of 2020, using special Giver smart contracts, 98 .55 % of the total supply became available to mine, and for the next two years, they did just that. In June of last year, the last Toncoin was mined and then they switched to proof of stake, which is why the chain is super fast, efficient, and have the eco -friendly box checked. I do find it pretty insane on how fast Toncoin climbed the ladder in blockchain, but considering the plan was to always be tethered to Telegram, it does make sense. To play the devil's advocate, I have to address the issues that some people already have with this project. First of all, there are already people on the internet pushing back against Toncoin's claims about being decentralized. Like always, I will remind you that decentralization is a spectrum, but where this project falls on that spectrum is the real question. For example, Ethereum has over 700 ,000 validators, where Tonstat .com shows that Toncoin only has 351. That's probably because you have to have 300 ,000 ton to become a validator, which is about $558 ,000 today. Haha, it cost a ton. Okay, I'm done. Another worry that stands out to me is their rich list, or the percentage of the supply held by the largest holders. Also not the best look here for Toncoin, because according to Coincart .com, the top 10 holders own 77 .7 % of the supply, and the top 100 holders own 90 .7 % of the supply. Yeah, I mean, adoption is great, but those numbers are pretty terrifying. Another question people have is that the circulating supply is over 3 .4 billion, but why is the total supply over 5 billion coins? Are they just going to unload a billion coins on an unexpected market, or what? Well, not exactly. In a community vote earlier this year in February, they voted to suspend all of the inactive miner wallets who have never made an outgoing transaction. The vote went through, and over a billion coins worth over $2 .5 billion were suspended. For the record, these coins will be frozen for four years, so in 2027, this will come back into play. This vote also had a pretty harsh effect on the circulating supply as well. If you look at this chart here, posted by Toncoin, after the vote, the circulating supply increased from 1 .22 billion to almost 4 billion. This chart they posted is not 100 % accurate, because we know the circulating supply is currently 3 .4 billion, but at the end of the day, the supply still increased by over 180 % because of this vote. Moving forward, at least the total supply will only increase by 0 .6 % every year. The silver lining here is that even if some people didn't like it, in terms of tokenomics, the worst is behind us. And sure, there are some things that kind of worry me about this project, but the visibility crypto is going to get by being integrated into Telegram is absolutely massive. And I still think this coin could probably put out some pretty serious numbers. According to these charts Toncoin posted, Telegram is projected to have 1 .5 billion users by 2028, and if Toncoin onboards 30 % of Telegram's users, they will have over 500 million users in their ecosystem. They have a long way to go because according to Tonstat .com, there's currently only around 3 .3 million accounts and less than 800 ,000 active on -chain wallets. But hey, let's hope for the best. Considering that Toncoin's market cap sits just below 9 .5 billion today, I'm really interested to see how far this will go if they really do manage to onboard 500 million users. It's also worth pointing out that this project is already ranked number 12. I mean, it's on the verge of breaking into the top 10 by market cap in all of crypto. And the thing is, the largest crypto exchanges haven't listed it yet. It's only available on Kucoin, Bitfinex, Uniswap, and a few others. I am definitely interested to see how the price will react if it starts landing major listings. Time will tell. Speaking of price, Toncoin is currently hanging out around the $1 .90 mark after it was rejected at the $2 level after its latest pump. According to Masari, Toncoin put in its all -time high of $5 .16 on Christmas day of 2021. This isn't a price prediction video, but remember that Toncoin's supply was much lower back then than what it is now. With that said, to get back to that all -time high of $5 .16, Toncoin would need a $17 .8 billion market cap, which is 173 % increase from its current level. Considering how high its market cap already is, if you want to get a 10x out of Toncoin, you're kind of asking for a lot because that would require the market cap to exceed $65 .4 billion. I think this project has a lot of potential to onboard millions of new users, and I'm definitely excited to see what becomes of its ecosystem, but I am a little worried about its upside considering how much more work the market cap has to do to put in a 10x. But hey, it's crypto, anything is possible. My name is AJ writes crypto, that's all I got, have yourself a great day. From training materials to resources that can help you generate a greater profit. Is FTX going to crush Solana's price right now? You see Solana's hanging around $19. Does FTX sell off of its crypto assets? Going to push that thing down to $10, $5, even lower. Okay, what's the news? Two days ago, FTX was given the green light to sell off their crypto assets. The crypto asset that's got everybody in a tizzy is $1 .1 billion in Solana. Okay, and there's a lot of people fearing what's going to happen if they were to dump the billion dollars worth of Solana. Why is the billion dollars of Solana worth, you know, why is it such an issue? Well, guys, it is roughly 20 % of the entire Solana amount that is circulating into the supply right now. That is massive right now. Okay, it's $1 .1 billion. But here's the green light. Here's the silver lining to this cloud, everybody. I don't think FTX is going to absolutely destroy Solana's price. And there's a few reasons. Okay, first off, the $1 .1 billion, it is that much Solana, but they don't have access to that much Solana. I've been watching Sopranos, so that's why you saw my hand do that. Now, the $1 .1 billion, you know, so that's the first wrinkle. They don't have all the Solana. The Solana is locked up on what they call a vesting schedule. Now, a vesting schedule is when you go on a boat, and then they say, alright, everybody put on your life jacket, that stands over there, and then everybody, now you put your life vest on. But no, this is a crypto vesting schedule. Crypto vesting schedule means, you know, usually a linear drip of daily, monthly, something like that, you will be given your crypto allotment. You have this allotment of crypto that you're going to get, but they don't give it to you all at once. You know, maybe if you get in, you know, you invest in a company, you invest in a protocol, or, you know, maybe you're one of the founders, you'll have a vesting schedule where they'll do 1 % a month, but they'll do it for 100 months. You're seeing something similar with Ripple, what they're doing, you know, they're dropping a billion a month on a vesting schedule. Well, Solana has a vesting schedule for FTX. I actually printed it out. I have the vesting schedule right here. A couple takeaways. It's not going to be fully vested, meaning FTX won't be. Okay. I'm talking about five years from now. There's some that's going to end in 27. There's going to be some that ends in 2028. And there's a bunch that does end in 2025 as well. So they don't have the $1 .1 billion of Solana right now. Guys, that's not even all of it. They're also limiting themselves to how much they can sell per week, because they do have other assets. They have Aptos, they have ETH, they have XRP, they have the Bitcoin, they have Wrapped Coins as well. They're only going to limit themselves to $200 million a week, okay, because they also have a half billion dollars worth of Bitcoin in addition to the billion dollars worth of Solana that they have. So you can see here, you know, it's broken down. Shout out to Masari Crypto, and they're just using the Solana Foundation website for their reference there. So it's going to be a lot of selling pressure for Solana. But that's going to be normal situation. A lot of VCs got in on this token. I don't think FTX is going to be selling all this Solana, though. And they can't sell all the Solana. So it's going to be broken down. It's going to be slowly but surely. I didn't mean to call you Shirley. Shout out to all the Shirley's in the chat. Make sure you hit that like button. 200 million weekly, vesting till 2028. The founder is, you know, FTX, he's potentially going to be locked up. The trial starts next month. Is that bullish case? You know, it's going to put more attention on FTX. It's going to put more attention on Solana. And it's going to permeate and, you know, percolate in the mainstream news. And all news is, you know, news, right? All publicity is not necessarily bad publicity. I'm not saying it's all good publicity. But you're going to have more and more people hearing Solana, hearing FTX, hearing, you know, oh, what is that? And then what's retail going to do? The retail is going to say, oh, you know, that sounds real scammy. But let me paint a scenario for you. They're watching Fox Business News or MSNBC. They're talking about Sam Bankman -Fried. They have the court sketch drawing. You see the curly hair. They're like, you know, what is it? Oh, yeah, that's that guy that the Bernie Madoff of crypto. And then let me point something out to you. What if they show the Solana price chart to the millions of normies? What do you think those normies are going to feel when they see that price hanging out at 20 bucks, then jumped up to 40, and then jumped all the way up to 250 and then back down? Okay. And then they see it. Now, where do they see it? They see it back at 20 bucks. Maybe they start doing some thinking like, hey, maybe I buy five of these for $100. It used to be 250 bucks. That'd be $1 ,250. You mean my $100 could do a 12X? And then someone's going to say, yeah, and some are saying, predicting of an even higher price next pull run. They're like, whoa, Solana can hit $300, $420? Okay, now sign me up. So I think we might see a little bit of retail offsetting a little bit of the institutional dumping. I am bullish on Solana in the long term. I do think it is. It is fast. The chain has been shut down numerous times. But when I bought NFTs on the ecosystem using Magic Eden, it has been a relatively good experience, although I never tried to trade when it was down. I'm sure if I needed to trade and Solana was down, I would have a much different opinion. But I do think it can hit new highs. I don't think it's, I'm leaning towards unlikely, but there's a lot of smart people who disagree with me, and they think it's more likely than not than Solana will set in a new all -time high. I do think it can certainly hit 100 bucks again. I think it can probably hit 200 bucks again. I think there's a lot of sell pressure there. So just be careful when you see all this Solana FUD, you see the FTX, you're thinking, you know, oh, the market cap's, you know, $7 billion, and they have $1 billion, $1 point something. They're going to dump it all. This is going to crater the price. It's FUD. I'm not saying be super bullish on Solana. Definitely don't be super bullish on FTX and SPF. But when you see the fears of, hey, a billion dollars is going to hit the market all at once, it is not true. The vesting schedule is going to 2028. Big drop off, a big chunk ends at 2028, a big chunk ends 2027, and a big chunk ends in 2025. So guys, this is years from now, perfectly timed up with that bull run. You know, maybe that was part of their planning with the vesting schedule there. So just be careful out there. If you are going to buy some Solana, don't bet the farm on it, but at $19, it doesn't seem like the worst thing in the world. Alright. Hope you enjoyed Discovering Crypto with Deezy. A highlight from How Impactful Will FTX Estate Selling Be on Crypto Markets?

"Welcome back to The Breakdown with me, NLW. It's a daily podcast on macro, Bitcoin and the big picture power shifts remaking our world. What's going on, guys? It is Friday, September 15th, and today we are talking about how much pressure FTX selling will put on the crypto markets. Before we get into that, however, if you are enjoying The Breakdown, please go subscribe to it, give it a rating, give it a review, or if you want to dive deeper into the conversation, come join us on the Breakers Discord. You can find a link in the show notes or go to bit .ly slash breakdown pod. Hello friends, happy Friday. We have lots to catch up on today, starting with what has emerged as a key narrative. That is, of course, that FTX has been granted approval to begin selling their crypto assets. On Wednesday, the bankruptcy judge ratified the sale plan, which was filed in late August. Galaxy Digital has been appointed as the selling agent. At last count, FTX said it had $3 .4 billion worth of liquid crypto assets to sell. Galaxy has been authorized to sell $50 million worth of crypto this week and next week, then $100 million per week after that. Creditors can agree to increase this amount to $200 million per week on a temporary basis before seeking court approval. Galaxy has also been given permission to hedge their sales using Bitcoin and Ethereum derivatives without sizing limits and at their sole discretion. Staking of assets will also be allowed if Galaxy deems it necessary. During the hearing, the judge questioned the need to sell crypto rather than distribute it directly to customers. FTX lawyers explained that there was no meaningful segregation of customer assets and balances held didn't line up with customer accounts. They said, quote, it's all part of one pool. There are assets that are associated with the exchange we call the dot com customer pool and the US pool, but they don't necessarily match customer entitlements. So when we dispose of this, we'll be turning it into cash effectively and the cash will be available for distribution pursuant to the plan. Now, all parties appeared concerned with getting this liquidation moving quickly while also limiting the price impact on the portfolio. A lawyer representing the ad hoc creditors committee said, the sooner we can get this process rolling, the better. Now, the speculation all over Twitter has of course been that this would lead to incredible downward price pressure across the crypto markets with any asset that was being sold. However, Jeff Dorman, CIO of ARCA pushed back on notions that this liquidation will be an uncontrolled dump. Here's a summary of his Twitter thread. He pointed out that Galaxy Asset Management, not their trading desk won the bid. They must act as a fiduciary and sell gradually and opportunistically. He pointed out that Galaxy is receiving massive amounts of reverse inquiry already, some from real funds and some fishing expeditions, but over the counter sales will dominate the buying. In other words, we're less likely to see a lot of selling on exchanges or via TWOPS. As good bids come in, they will engage. Hedging, he points out, will be opportunistic, i .e. long puts to offset a large drop in the portfolio. And he points out that people thinking that Galaxy will rush to sell $3 billion in futures right away is crazy. The goal, he points out, is to outperform a static portfolio, not turn the estate into a long short fund. He reminds that Galaxy cannot front run the sales and profit internally, that that is very illegal and that their asset management business is completely walled off from their prop desk. Finally, he points out that this is not some half -baked plan. It involved months of working with the courts to win this business, and that the point of bankruptcies is to maximize the upside of the estate, not speed of distributions. In other words, this may be capped short -term gains due to opportunistic sales and to strength, but it is not a fire sale into weakness. Now getting even more granular, much of the speculation in recent weeks has specifically surrounded how sales of the hefty FTX Solana portfolio will impact that market. In their most recent accounting, FTX said they hold $1 .1 billion worth of Solana, which is able to be sold. That would be around 14 % of the current market cap. It was previously believed that much of this supply was staked and would be unlocked between 2025 and 2028, although the latest FTX filing threw this into question by lumping all of the Solana holdings in together. FundStrap published a report earlier this week detailing the FTX crypto holdings and claimed that less than $150 million worth of Solana is liquid and able to be sold off. Now, ultimately, no matter what people say, it's going to be very, very hard to get people away from the concern that this amount of selling will impact the market. Liquidity is incredibly thin right now, and probably the best that we can hope is that some of the negative price action over the last few weeks has been in anticipation of this and trying to front run it. But ultimately, the only way out is through, and so we just have to deal with this as the next thing we have to deal with. Now moving over to that other big exchange, two more Binance US executives have joined the exodus from that embattled company. The head of legal, Krishna Juvadi, and the chief risk officer, Sidney Majalia, are leaving the company according to WSJ sources. Juvadi was one of the firm's main contacts for communicating with the SEC, which is currently in active litigation with Binance. This makes three executives reported to be jumping ship from Binance US in less than a week. Remember on Tuesday, sources said that Binance US CEO Brian Schroeder had left his position. Now, Schroeder has not been active on social media since February, leading some to speculate on whether reporting was simply catching up on events that had quietly transpired much earlier. According to a company spokesperson, chief legal officer Norman Reed has stepped in as interim CEO. Bloomberg ETF analyst James Safart said the obvious thing when he tweeted, well, this cannot be a good sign for whatever is going on at Binance. On the flip side, crypto has at this point, I think, written off Binance US as a going concern. The Flow Horse writes, why does anyone care about Binance US employees leaving? They don't have a job to do. The exchange is a placeholder and no one uses it. Proof of Talent founder Rob Hayon writes, Binance US doing $9 million in 24 hour volume right now. At what point do they shutter the doors? Gotta be soon, right? Now, staying on the Binance train for a moment more, the SEC have accused Binance US of refusing to cooperate during the discovery process of their ongoing lawsuit. A court filing made on Thursday noted that only 220 documents had been produced by the exchange. Binance US had signed a consent order regarding the scope of discovery in June, but the SEC are claiming that many of the documents produced in accordance with that order, quote, consist of unintelligible screenshots and documents without dates or signatures. The SEC noted that Binance had refused to produce essential witnesses for depositions, including former CEO Brian Schroeder. Instead, they unilaterally limited the list of witnesses to just four employees. The SEC said that Binance US quote, has responded to requests for relevant communication with blanket objections and has refused to produce documents kept in the ordinary course of its business, claiming those documents do not exist only for the SEC to later receive such documents from other sources. Now the bulk of the SEC's filing related to SEFU, the wallet custody system at Binance US, which is provided by Binance International. The regulator called attention to contradictory statements about Binance's involvement in the management of US customer funds. They argued that the usage of SEFU violates the terms of a prior agreement that Binance US customer funds would not be diverted offshore. The heavily redacted filing also included information obtained by the SEC with the cooperation of a former Binance US auditor who has provided over 6 ,500 documents related to Binance's accounting. The SEC are treating the lack of disclosure of these documents from Binance US directly as evidence of a lack of transparency. Now continuing on the cleanup theme, three Eros Capital co -founders, Kyle Davies and Suzu have been slapped with a nine year ban from the regulated financial services industry in Singapore. The pair have been prohibited from taking part in the management of or being a major investor in any regulated firm involved in capital markets. Now MAS, the Monetary Authority of Singapore handed down the ban after concluding its investigation into the collapse of the once high flying Singapore based crypto fund. They found that 3AC had failed to notify the regulator of the appointment of a new fund manager, falsely claimed that this manager wasn't conducting regulated activities and failed to have in place appropriate risk management. MAS assistant managing director of policy payments and financial crime said in a statement, senior management of fund managers are required to implement robust risk management measures to protect the interests of investors. MAS takes a serious view of Mr. Zou and Mr. Davies flagrant disregard of MAS's regulatory requirements and dereliction of their directors duties. MAS will take action to weed out senior managers who commit such misconduct. Now, alongside spending much of the last year ignoring requests to engage with the 3AC bankruptcy process, Zou and Kyle launched a new offshore exchange based in the Seychelles. However, that crypto and bankruptcy claims marketplace was recently reprimanded by Dubai authorities for advertising within the emirate. They were issued a $2 .8 million fine, which big surprise remains unpaid. Moving on to yet another hanging chat on Wednesday, Digital Currency Group formally proposed their Creditor Agreement as part of the Genesis bankruptcy. The agreement seeks to refinance a $630 million intercompany loan owed by DCG, which fell due in May and remains unpaid. According to DCG, the plan could offer, quote, all unsecured creditors a 70 to 90 % recovery with a meaningful portion of the recovery in digital currencies. DCG claimed the repayment of loans over time using crypto would allow creditors to, quote, capture the appreciation of cryptocurrency up to $85 ,000 for Bitcoin and $8 ,500 for ETH. We'll come back to that in just a moment. DCG called the deal a, quote, remarkable outcome for any liquidating Chapter 11 case, let alone one in the volatile cryptocurrency industry. Now, the deal will, of course, require the agreement of creditors before moving forward. DCG have secured the consent of the unsecured creditors group. However, the major creditor, Gemini, have so far been silent on the deal. Gemini claims to be owed approximately $1 .1 billion in the bankruptcy on behalf of hundreds of thousands of their customers. The Gemini claim is in a much stronger position than unsecured creditors, as Genesis posted about 31 million GBTC shares as collateral when taking loans from Gemini customers. This collateral has appreciated significantly since the bankruptcy and represents about 60 % of the total balance owed to Gemini. DCG indeed claimed that Gemini customers could see an excess recovery of up to 110 % under the new agreement. They wrote in their filing, at current pricing, the Gemini user collateral is worth approximately 607 million. If Gemini agrees to provide 100 million to Gemini earned users under the proposed agreement as it previously did, or to distribute even a small portion of the Gemini user collateral to Gemini earned users, there would be little doubt Gemini earned users would receive a full recovery. DCG then contended that Gemini is failing to, quote, put its money where its mouth is. The filing stated that Gemini, quote, is not contributing a single penny to provide Gemini earned users a better recovery. Now, the crypto community was not as convinced as DCG made it out that this was a great deal. Lumina Wealth CEO Rama Lawalia writes, The deal between DCG and Genesis reeks of self -dealing at worst and incompetence at best. The deal presumes an $85 ,000 for Bitcoin and $8 ,500 for ETH. The defaulted party should make the creditors whole, not speculate yet again on a risky gamble on behalf of creditors. Creditors lent money expecting credit risk, not volatile equity -like risk. If DCG truly believes those numbers, they should ensure that outcome for creditors through an options contract. Genesis creditors should seek the removal of the Genesis CEO, who was conflicted in a party to the alleged fraudulent balance sheet statements, petition the judge to have a new trustee, pressure Genesis to focus on the turnover motion and resume litigation. What a mess. Now, speaking of Genesis, Genesis will also cease all trading services according to a company spokesperson. If you're surprised to hear that Genesis's trading services were continuing, you're not alone. Although the crypto lending arm of the firm declared bankruptcy in January, many other DCG subsidiaries which shared the Genesis branding continued to operate throughout this year. Earlier this month, the Genesis company which handles US -based over -the -counter trading announced it would be shutting down throughout September. At the time, it was believed that Genesis would continue providing offshore OTC trading from their British Virgin Island companies, but with this announcement, Genesis has signaled their exit from OTC and derivatives trading globally. A spokesperson for the firm said, this decision was made voluntarily and for business reasons. With this termination of services, Genesis no longer offers trading services through any of its business entities. Now, while this was highly expected, it still marks something of a big moment. Wayne Vaughn tweeted, the former largest OTC crypto trading desk is officially closed. Genesis announced today that they are no longer offering trading services through any of its business entities. Seems like a juggernaut falls with every cycle. In this cycle though, friends, I think we can agree that numerous juggernauts have fallen, but perhaps it is just to clear out the way for companies who will use that juggernaut status a little more responsibly. Anyways, friends, that is going to do it for today's episode. I appreciate you guys listening as always. Until next time, be safe and take care of each other.

A highlight from Why You Should Mine KASPA And Stake ADA!

"Why does he look like Tom from Myspace? Go back one more time. That is Tom from Myspace. Tom from Myspace is just missing the whiteboard, I think. This picture's gonna give me nightmares. This is the worst. Here it is. That's our Casper minor down in the basement. What we have is basically a picture of Tim. Look at, or a picture of me. Don't say that's a picture of Tim. Okay, this is the chaos that's going on in our basement. Just one more time. Yeah. You know? Just absolutely. There's no hot way to frame that picture. Why does he look like Tom from Myspace? Go back one more time. That is Tom from Myspace. Tom from Myspace is just missing the whiteboard, I think. This picture's gonna give me nightmares. This is the worst. Here it is. That's our Casper minor down in the basement. Let us know in the chat, what are we gonna name this minor? That's what my sleep demon looks like at the foot of my bed when I'm in paralyzed mode. I've never had sleep paralysis. It probably sounds, it sounds scary. I hate, would anyone here experienced sleep paralysis? No. Yeah? Scary? Scary? Very, very scary. Can you describe in one sentence what, was there a demon? And if so, what did the demon look like? Scary. Scary, scary. They say it's common. And my fiance, she sleep walks a little, but sleep talks, she has a slept with, like she's real, real tired. Yeah, she'll get up, she sleep talks. Oh yeah, my wife, my wife sleep talks to me all the time. Shout out to my friend, Wesley Miller. He would sleep sing church songs back when we were in middle school. What a good guy. I don't know what he's, he went to Baylor. I hope he's doing well. All right, it was me that threw an egg at your dad's truck and I still feel bad about it. All right, this is a mining dashboard here. It says Ice River. Is the mining settings, IP settings. Okay, so a hash rate. Okay, 30 minute hash rate. There's no way I'm ever gonna get this. Okay, I could see the next tab says KAS. Is this a CASPA mining portal? It's a CASPA miner and a CASPA mining situation we got going on. Wait, wait, this whole segment was guessing what it was mining? No, well, no, we're naming the miner. Oh, I was gonna say, yeah, I don't think this was a guess that because Nick is like, he talks nonstop about his CASPA mining. Yeah, we're getting CASPA in the basement. I liked, let me see here, going up to. Thank you, The Damned, thank you. The Mine Tater, Silver Surfer, Yukon Cornelius. We've got some ideas coming out of this. Okay, what are these? Are these comic book characters that mine crypto? Say one of those again. Yukon Cornelius. Okay, that is The Simpsons character, right? That sounds like a Simpsons character, does it not? All right, it looks like, so that was for CASPA. CASPA is still under a nickel, everybody. If we look at all time high, got as high as peaking at a nickel. Now we're peaking back at a nickel. I'm really not a fan of buying wicks of coins. So, you know, I'm not gonna buy any CASPA right here, even though I probably should. And you're probably gonna laugh at me when it goes to 50 cents, goes to a dollar. I just can't do it. I just can't do it, folks. I see this and I'd rather just buy Chainlink. Ah, that being said, I definitely should have bought that dip into the threes. I feel like a dum -dum. I guarantee if we touch 3 .99999, I will buy some. If we get anywhere below four cents, I'm gonna get in on some CASPA. Is that too soon? Is that too late? Should I just buy it now? Anyone hold some CASPA, let me know. You know, what do you think of my CASPA strategy? It's more at this point, I don't even care if I have great X return. I'm just mad at myself not having any. And so I'd rather have peace of mind. Peace of mind, just being able to lay your head on the pillow at night, just going to sleep easy. I highly, highly value that. And so I think holding a little bit of CASPA will also make me feel good there. It might not be the best time to be filling your bag with it right now, though. We're currently working on a double top at a level that, back a long time ago on a DA, this was the prediction I called, I hear, right under five cents. We went slightly above it. But right now, when you're looking at oscillators, four hour chart, daily chart two, we're getting overbought flashes at that double top. So I'm not saying it has to fall back down here towards this golden pocket, but more than likely there's a decent chance you could potentially scoop some more up around three cents. All right, so Brian is just too much for him. You know, he said, I give up Deezy, it's too late now. You know, should I buy like, if I buy 20 of them at a nickel for a dollar, like will y 'all not hate me anymore? I just gotta, I'll just get 20 of them. Oh, you can mine it. I do, all right, so I have a 1070 that's like four or five years old in the office. I wonder if it will work with that. I think you need one like Nick got. I think it's a very specific miner. Is it GPU? Yeah. Okay. Just take a better picture with it. All right. One more time. Just for good measure. That's perfect. All right, let's talk a little Cardano here. ADA upgrade, Cardano staking game changer, multi -pool delegation with LACE. The LACE wallet takes a huge developmental leap forward by allowing users to diversify their stake. Joining the ever expanding ecosystem is LACE wallet's latest feature, multi -pool delegation. Employing a unique strategy, they generate several stake keys from the same account, creating a new address for each pool with the set portion of the ADA the user wants to stake with the mechanism. They can now simultaneously stake their tokens in up to five unique pools, diversifying their stake. So yeah, it just makes Cardano more decentralized here. I stake mine with the default NAMI stake pool, Berry, made by Berry Alessandro. Great, great phenomenal builder on Cardano. I have a pinned tweet that'll show you how to download the NAMI wallet. If you wanna, you got some Cardano on an exchange and you're like, hey, I can get three, four, 5 % if I get lucky for free. Meaning if I got 100 and I wait a year, I'll have 104. I don't have to do anything. Okay, yeah, that sounds pretty cool. What if I have 10K? You might get 400 ADA for free. Let's say it does hit $5. That's gonna be $2 ,000 that you can earn by actually just clicking right, clicking, dragging, and then just hitting delegate. Like two mouse clicks can make you 2K if you had 10K Cardano that is. Other new multi -pool delegation feature is vital to the commitment to decentralization, allowing holders to stake across multiple SBOs, centralization, prevents overall promotes a more distributed network that aligns with Cardano's core vision. A shout out to BJ's NES pool, right? He has the NES pool. Pretty good builders on that as well. All right, it looks like we have a updated FTX asset report on Wednesday. We're falling into the X minute. Yeah, okay, okay, yeah. I thought the ADA would have more than one story. Yeah, just one story there. All right, now we're into the X minute, the Xs. Shout out to X -Pac. All right, on Wednesday, they likely get approval to liquidate their 3 .4 billion worth of crypto. Remember, there is false information in this. They can't sell all the Solana until 2028. And, you know, maybe there's going to be a similar situation with something like, I don't know if NIR's on here, but Aptos, I could see a similar situation happening with Aptos. Now their Bitcoin, yeah, they could, I think they'll actually hold it in Bitcoin. The Bitcoin, yeah, they could probably dump all the Bitcoin, but I think there's going to be some tokens with vesting schedules. I think a lot of that information is hidden in secret. And so it's like, we're relying on the whistleblowers here. So just be careful with what you see regarding FTX liquidations. There's a little bit of a false news out there.

Andrew Wilkow, Dinesh D 'Souza, Brandon Tatum, and more. Open debate and free speech you won't find anywhere else. We're not like the other guys. We're Salem News Channel. Watch any time on any screen for free 24 -7 at snc .tv and on local now channel 525. The Mike Gallagher Show. I built hundreds of miles of wall. If we didn't have it, it would be hard to believe it could be any worse. They're just letting people flow into our country. A country has to have borders. Some of the wall was up there and it would be laying on the ground rusted rotten steel, rusted rotten wood, and what the radical left crazy Democrats did. If there's a piece of wood laying down, they consider that a wall. I built because this is the game. They're a party of disinformation. In the ReliefFactor .com studios, here's Mike. Welcome back to the ReliefFactor .com studio. I'm your guest host Carl Jackson sitting in with the great Mike Gallagher and Joe in Kentucky, Louisville. I'll be going to you in just a second here. If you want to call into the program 1 -800 -655 -MIKE. 1 -800 -655 -MIKE. I just want to comment on that video, the last video that you saw on SalemNewsChannel .com with former President Donald Trump in that CNN town hall that he did with the lady that just got taken to school even though she tried to take him to school. That was so annoying. I could barely take that interview. Do you realize the Biden administration, a lot of that new material that we purchased, they've literally sold a lot of it off. They've sold it off. Even to try to rebuild and keep in mind when Trump says rebuild, a lot of the wall was being fortified. He didn't literally build hundreds of miles worth of wall, unfortunately. I wish he had the left and unfortunately some rhinos did everything they could to slow the border issue down. That's something that has to be started all over virtually again with the exception of the 40 plus miles that were added because the Biden administration literally are continuing to sell off some of the material. Some of the some of the material is just setting still not doing anything but they're selling it off. They did they did the same thing as a matter of fact with material from the Keystone XL pipeline. Just so you know how evil and disgusting and despicable the Biden administration and his leading up to this and this show. I'm going to show you how and thank you Tracy for reminding me the the woman was Robin from Hawaii from the state of Hawaii. I don't recall what island and and Derek you're right. I think more more people need to read the left so we understand what the left is doing so that we're not fighting so harshly against each other because I really do believe and I understand you want Trump to win. I got it. Fight for him like heck and you should and you should but there's a mistake I believe in sabotaging Adron DeSantis. I think there's a mistake in in in in saying nobody else should compete in the race and I'm not going to lie with you lie to you. I I don't want a lot of those people on the stage. The only people frankly that I care about and I know I'm going to offend some people out there are Trump DeSantis and Larry Elder and I'll tell you why and and I want to bring I want to bring I'll tie all this together. I promise you and Joe I promise you I'll get to Joe and Louisville, Kentucky. I'll be coming to you because you got an important call here that I that I want to take on but there's a reason why I I say Trump DeSantis and Larry Elder and I'm okay with those three. I'm okay with those three hashing it out. Now I do live in Realville you know Rush Limbaugh was the mayor of Realville. If I'm looking at the polls even though I I know that the polls are skewed I know that the polls are wrong I still know that Trump has a humongous lead over everyone. That is clear even in state polling that is very clear so it is more than likely that Trump will be the GOP nominee unless there's fewer people. I'm a selfish person. I like we the people. I realize that Trump if he gets in he gets four years and I'm sitting there thinking okay we need to win 2024, 2028, 2032, 2036, 2040. How do we do all this? How do how do we do all this? If if you think that it's going to be a four -year plan we're going to somehow turn America around in four years you're sadly mistaken. You're just you're you're sadly mistaken. The DOJ issue is the biggest issue in my opinion out there. The way that the DOJ the FBI how they've been utterly corrupted is the biggest issue but there's something I got to share with you. Unfortunately the DOJ and the FBI being corrupted just shows us that we're too late to the party so it is the biggest issue out there but unfortunately all of the other issues that preceded that in order to create a corrupt DOJ a corrupt FBI we're late to the party. I believe that Trump is better when it comes to that stuff right DOJ stuff and all that man he just I think he'll go in and just wreck shop. I love that. I think I think Trump is better instinctively with foreign policy. He's just honestly he changed my views on some foreign policy stuff and that I absolutely love and adore adore him for. I love his sheer tenacity force of will but I'll be straight with you when it comes to the stuff leading up to DOJ and Ron DeSantis is better and I don't care if you like that or not he's got an instinct for that. You don't have to you can whine like little girls on the left you can lie about it you can deny it you can do what some conservative columnists and and and influencers have been done uh doing that all of a sudden DeSantis is the worst but no I'm sorry he's our second best guy and I don't think it's even close and I think you're playing a seriously dumb game if you try to sabotage them. I think you're an idiot. I think you're a fake MAGA person and I don't think you're out for the country. I think you're out for yourself if you're trying to sabotage our second best guy. I just opinion for the betterment of America. You're an idiot. I want to make it completely and emphatically clear because this is not a one election game. We've come to the party way too late. Ron DeSantis' instincts on cultural Marxism and what led up to the DOJ corruption I'm sorry he's been better than Trump on that. When it comes to the issue of COVID I'm sorry I see all of the naysayers oh well Ron DeSantis is lying he did this he did these are the the whiners these these are the guys in the MAGA movement that need testosterone uh oh Ron DeSantis he's lying about you know he was he he was what are they saying oh he he locked down Florida and guys I live in Florida yes he followed orders just like everybody else but you had what's what's her name Kristi uh and I'm missing someone the lady in Iowa that were very strong on COVID but once DeSantis backed out of COVID he was better than anybody else by far by far it wasn't even close it showed me that he was instinctually getting stuff and he was strong enough to say whoa whoa whoa whoa whoa wait a minute here's what's going on now and he wasn't falling to the pressure so that's why I want to see Trump on stage because as much as I love Trump and we've got a video here saying don't comply with COVID well I'm sorry I love Trump I love Trump but I'm we the people first I want Trump to tell me what he learned so that he does about COVID uh and and the deep state so he never gets duped again when he's in office that's what I want to know I deserve that as a voter you may not want that that's up to you but I'm a we the people person I want that because you know what I don't have the resources to fight against the deep state I don't have them if they lock me up I'm gone away forever you're never going to hear me again so I'm pretty selfish I want to stay out of prison I don't want to be the proud boys guy that I'm gonna that I'm going to talk about uh later Larry Elder the reason why I want him is simple in my opinion Larry Elder is a better communicator than DeSantis he's a better communicator uh than than Trump and I think he can communicate those ideas better than them and even to minority voters I think he can communicate our ideas better to minority voters than DeSantis and Trump can so I figure let them fight it out I think Trump is going to win but let them fight it out because you know why with those three I think we the people win and the left is an isolated on Donald Trump where they can just aim all right so take everybody out of the race let let's take everybody out of the race and let's just let the DOJ the FBI the the mainstream media big tech every look at everything that has been unleashed on Trump now let's get everybody out of the way so they can just completely focus on him you know what Ron DeSantis is do you know what Larry Elder and I pray to God Larry Elder gets on the stage larryelder .com do you know what they are they are an insurance policy I'm sorry I love Tim Scott I love Tim Scott I think Larry Elder is a better candidate than Tim Scott so I hope to God that he gets on the stage all right because I want to hear them debate but they're an insurance policy you know why the left is scared to get rid of Biden those that are Kamala Harris I had somebody messaged me yesterday uh Carl I love you on the show but I disagree with you on this part the impeachment thing because Kamala Harris the left has no problem throwing black people under the bus even a black woman they will throw her under the bus quick fast and in a hurry she's an insurance policy for Biden you know who's an insurance policy because I read them all the time I'm just telling you the truth you don't have to believe it you don't have to agree with it I don't necessarily agree with it but when I read the left when I read the radical left the person who they fear the most is DeSantis whether you like it or not doesn't mean that it's true that is their perception because they believe that DeSantis is Trump not charismatic but will get crap done when he came in the office that's true I don't believe DeSantis at this point I mean unless he gets a one -on -one and there's a miracle that he's going to win the primary but I tell you the left yes they fear Trump but they also fear DeSantis why would you take the guy the second guy that they fear out and try to sabotage them the those of you that are doing that and and I'll say it maybe I'm sabotaging my career today you're complete and utter idiots and I don't believe you're MAGA I believe you're just you're I believe you're just what what's the word I just believe you're grifters I believe you just want to follow the crowd I don't believe you're for the betterment of America I don't believe you're for the empowerment of we the people I think you're full of crap to be frank with you this is Carl Jackson and for Mike Gallagher hear this but that's Derek Klingle being on it I want to go to Tucker Tucker says I agree and I quote I agree 100 after guest says uh Trump and Biden are too old to be president here's audio clip number two I'm actually kind of surprised to hear this but let's roll it uh I think both Trump and Biden are too old I think there should I don't think you should be able to be that old and be president uh but I think Trump trying to be a hundred percent more aware I I think Biden has got some serious dementia issues I'm I'm actually surprised to hear that I I can't uh I did not know he said listen I I do believe that there should be an age limitation that we we talked about this yesterday I do think that there should be some type of cognitive test obviously if you look at uh Trump he's he's I think he's 77 or 78 years old the guy acts like he's probably 60 I mean it's it's absolutely insane and then you look at Biden and it's simply not the same but I I do believe there needs to be some cognitive test and perhaps there does need to be an age limit at some point uh but I'm wishy -washy on that I'll admit I'm not a term limit guy I know a lot of people want term limits listen I just think evil people do evil things they'll just figure out how to do evil things even more quickly I think we need to leave a move a lot of these people out of Washington D .C.

A highlight from Chairman Gallagher on What Bret Baier and Martha MacCallum Should Ask the GOP Candidates About Xi and CCP

"We're proud to announce our brand new ACLJ Life and Liberty Drive. Our legal teams will be focusing on the issues that you, our ACLJ members, have told us matter the most to you, life and religious liberty. Join the ACLJ in the fight to keep America free. Welcome to today's podcast, sponsored by Hillsdale College, all things Hillsdale, Hillsdale dot edu. I encourage you to take advantage of the many free online courses there. And of course, a listen to the Hillsdale dialogues, all of them at Q for Hillsdale dot com or just Google Apple, iTunes and Hillsdale. Morning Glory America Bonjour. Hi, Canada. I'm Hugh Hewitt. Tomorrow night, eight Republicans will meet on the stage in Milwaukee for a debate. I am certain that China will come up the Chinese Communist Party, but I'm not sure how. Brett Baer, of course, coming up later in the program. Martha McCollum, two superb professionals, the equal of anyone else in our business, will be asking the question. But I thought I would talk it through with the chairman of the House Select Committee on Engagement with the Chinese Communist Party. Mike Gallagher, congressman. Good morning. Great to have you. Thank you for joining me. It is great to be with you, Hugh. We're going to come back around to this kind of war, which I finished last night on the recommendation of you. It is a remarkable book. And I had no idea how awful the chai comms were to our American prisoners. I just I didn't know. Did you know that before? Did the Marines teach you that when you were in the Marines? No, there's there's two things that I think, well, a lot of actually our modern thinking about how to prepare people for when they get captured. Think survival of Asian resistance and escape school, which I attended when I was in the Marine Corps actually comes out of the experience of the Korean War, particularly some politically sensitive moments when a few American captives refused actually to go home. There was, of course, this controversy during that time period post Korean War in the 50s about this idea of brainwashing. This is prominently expressed in the fictional book The Manchurian Candidate, which became a major American movie. But a lot of our thinking about how to better prepare pilots in particular because they get shot down for resisting in captivity actually comes out of that period. Well, a couple of takeaways I'll never forget. There are no Turks died in the camps. The Turks are the toughest people in the world, and none of them died in the Chinese Communist Party camps. And the Americans didn't eat everything they could eat because they didn't like it and they died of starvation. But the fact that the Chinese communists treated our men that way is a tell because they've reverted to this mode. They were the hardcore Maoist, Leninist mode in 1950 through 1953, and they've reverted. And that's what I want to talk to you about. I want to ask you at length. We got a lot of time this morning and thank you for the time. If you were advising Brett and Martha based upon your six months, what would you tell them are the major takeaways that you've learned as the chairman of the Select Committee? And how would you suggest they be turned into a question? Take your time, because that's a big that's a big question. What have you learned thus far in six months? And how would you convert that into questions for our candidates? Well, I think the overall thing to realize for these candidates and this advice is worth what they're paying me for it is that there is, in my opinion, something called the commander in chief test. It's not you know, you're not graded A through F. I think it's a pass fail endeavor, but it is absolutely critical. Put differently, I'm not myopic enough to believe that foreign policy or a particular issue of foreign policy is going to win the candidate candidate the election, but it could very well lose them the election. The final thing to say about the assumptions going into this when it comes to foreign policy is that the conventional wisdom is that it doesn't really matter from a political electoral perspective. And there's a lot of social science to support that. I just would say it doesn't matter until it does. It doesn't matter until things go haywire on the world stage and suddenly voters are looking to a prospective commander in chief to communicate, if nothing else, a sense of safety that I have the temperament and the plan to keep America safe in a very dangerous world, which leads, I think, to the answer your question more than anything else. I think these candidates need to communicate that they have a clear understanding of the threat we face in the Chinese Communist Party, the scale and scope of this threat. Why this isn't just a matter of some obscure territorial disputes in the South China Sea. This is indeed a global competition. The CCP has global ambitions. What happens in Xinjiang, what happens in Beijing is not going to stay there. They are intent on exporting their model of total techno totalitarian control, which leads to the second point that you need to find a way to contrast that threat to enduring the and inherently superior American values. And I do believe that this is a contest between two fundamentally incompatible systems of government. And it's unlike anything we've seen since, of course, the old Cold War. So communicating the stakes, communicating who we're dealing with in the nature of a Marxist Leninist regime that will stop at nothing to ensure that they survive at the expense of their own people. And that is the enemy of freedom around the world is the most important thing. In fact, I would say even more important than any particular policy position is just communicating that understanding of the threat and the prioritization of the threat, a recognition that as president, the most important issue that you will be dealing with as commander in chief is how to deter a war with the CCP in the short term and win a new Cold War with the CCP over the long term. So let's put that in the form of a question for Brett and Martha, because I think you're right, I am looking at, of course, I've always looked at every one of these debates as an audition to be commander in chief. Eventually, there comes a choice with the Democrat. But right now, when I vote in the Virginia primary, I will vote based on who will be the best commander in chief. And because that's what matter. 9 -11 matters. What is the W do on 9 -11 that matters? What does W do? The Afghanistan and Iraq. What does anyone do on any moment of crisis? What do they do in the situation room? Figuring out how to elicit that about China is a difficult thing. So you've been doing nothing but this for six months. And by the way, recap for our audience and Pittsburgh Steeler fans what you have been doing for six months, because they may never have heard of the select committee. This might be the first day they're listening to the audience. No acronyms or five dollars in the tip jar for food for the poor. Well, the speaker of the House created the select committee on the CCP to do two things. One is to communicate why this matters, why anybody in northeast Wisconsin or Pittsburgh or Ohio should care about the threat posed by the CCP, to shine a light on all the things that they're doing, whether it's threatening to invade Taiwan, whether it's establishing illegal police stations on American soil, whether it's infiltrating American universities or attempting to build spy bases in our near abroad, to explain why it matters and why your average American should care about it. The second thing is to identify policies and pieces of legislation that can pass even in divided government. In the 118th Congress, what is the center of gravity in terms of steps that we can take in order to put ourselves on a better position to beat the CCP in this short and long term competition? So that's what we've been doing. We've broken it down, essentially, as though this isn't a perfect organization into three main lines of effort. And I do think this reflects our overall lines of effort, our grand strategy against China basically has three main components. One is military competition. What are the things we need to do to deter a war over Taiwan in the near term, as well as ensure that we maintain our dominant military position over the long term? The second is what I call economic statecraft. How do we selectively decouple from China so they don't have a coercive leverage over us so they can't threaten, for example, to cut off the export of advanced pharmaceutical ingredients in order to bring us to our knees? And then the third line of effort is what I call ideological warfare or ideological competition, which is not only how do we rediscover a language for talking about American values and incorporate values and human rights back into American grand strategy, but also how do we better defend our institutions from Chinese Communist Party subversion, from something called United Front Work, from traditional espionage, things like that. So we aren't corrupted and divided from within, which is what the Chinese Communist Party is trying to do. Wang Huning, who's Xi Jinping's top lieutenant in the 90s, wrote a book called America Against America, in which he talks about Americans as greedy, factional. And that that title, America against America, I think reflects their overall strategy, which is to divide Americans against Americans and thereby make it impossible for us to compete. So we've been developing policy recommendations along each of those lines. We've put out two reports, one on military competition, one related to human rights. And we're going to be putting out further reports. So, you know, I think those are useful starting points for for candidates who want to prepare for a debate in terms of where's Congress at on this issue? Where's the bipartisan center of gravity? Where can you potentially build on some of our work? But that's what we've been doing for six months. It's trying to understand and explain the threat and then identify policy solutions that help us to combat that threat. How would you put that in the form of a question by Brett or Martha? Well, there's the overall prioritization question, you know, what is the biggest threat to American national security, which is a bit boring, but no, it's not that's not boring. That that is that is the question, isn't it? Shouldn't that just be asked? What is the number one threat to American national security and why? Shouldn't that be it? Yeah, I think that that's table stakes, right? That's a good diagnostic question. And then it also allows the candidates, if they want to use their full time and I forget how much time they get to really articulate the key distinction between them and the Biden administration, because if you read the Biden administration's national security strategy that they talk about China as a pacing threat, although I'm hearing now that the Pentagon is saying don't say pacing threat, say pacing challenge or competitor, because we obviously don't want to provoke the CCP for whatever reason. I've described this as kind of like a Voldemort phenomenon. There's this belief that the more more we say things like New Cold War or say that the CCP is doing bad things, that it will somehow become more true, which I think is absurd. I'll be right back. Sherman Gallagher is going to stay with me through the break and then we're going to bring him back and then we're going to do that again. And we're going to talk to him for 15 minutes this morning about this. I can't believe I'm doing that. 15 minutes with Mike Gallagher coming right at you, America. Stay tuned. I'm back now with Chairman Mike Gallagher. This is the segment between the radio segments, so you don't get to hear this unless you're watching it on YouTube or on the on the television station. Chairman, in terms of what level should we expect of our candidates knowledge? I see your Green Bay Packers thing yet. Do you know the Browns cleared 38 million in cap yesterday by restructuring Joel Bentonio and Miles Garrett's contract? We have no we have the most cap space in the NFL. We are the team to beat. We will see you. I actually I don't think you're making it to the Super Bowl this year. We are going to be in the Super Bowl this year and you are not ready for this. I'm glad this isn't on the air because this is a serious conversation. But you had to do that little thing. And I'll I'll just go get my brown sweater and just put it on during this segment like that. I'm going to wear this all the time now on the air because we're going to the Super Bowl. Chairman, do you know that we cleared Miles Garrett contract yesterday? You know what we do? Do you follow sports at all or do you just do ChaiCom stuff? I don't follow Brown's contract minutia. I'll confess. I'll confess that, though. I was I was yesterday. Someone said that I had the potential to coach for the Browns after I helped them with a constituent case issue, to which I said I would never coach for the Browns on an Intel. All right. Let me get serious again. I'm going to try to go off the off the rail. We'll get back on the rails. How many times have you guys held public hearings? Oh, gosh, I think 10 at this point, approximately 10. You had at least one set of war games. You have more war games coming. We do. We have we have at least one more coming up that's going to be more focused on economic and supply chain issues. OK. Do you think the candidates know anything about that? I really do want to try and use today to focus their attention on China. Do you think they know anything about what the select committee has been doing? Have you been approached by any of them? I think some do. It's part of the reason I wrote an op ed on this that appeared today in The Wall Street Journal just came out was an effort, maybe shamelessly, to draw attention to some of the things we're doing, because I think it creates some unique opportunities. I mean, to me, you know, the most and this reflects my bias in thinking that hard power is the most important variable on the world stage. I think a candidate who can articulate what we need to do to rebuild the military in general, but really the Navy in particular, which is, as you know, Hugh is really struggling right now. It needs to be our priority force in our priority theater. It's not. We're going backwards. There's questions about focus, warfighting prowess. You know, I wrote a report with the help of Admiral Montgomery about the lack of warfighting focus in the surface Navy with Tom Cotton, Dan Crenshaw and others. I mean, I think that's a massive opportunity for a candidate really to take the ball on defense and go a few layers deep beyond just peace through strength, military good, China bad. You go a few layers deep on that and sort of communicate that you have a coherent plan. Doesn't need to be super detailed. Doesn't need to be a 50 page white paper about everything we need to do. But just as an overall strategy for fiction, I'm going to get your comms team in trouble again. I haven't seen this plan that you and Cotton worked on. How can I not have seen this plan? Well, this is a year ago. You got to blame Cotton's comms team for this because he was OK. And usually it's good to blame Tom Cotton. He's on next hour. I'll do that. Is that widely available? Yeah, it's Cotton did it with four of us in the house. It was over a year, a year and a half ago, kind of in response to all of these ship collisions. Some of the reports that we were getting from active duty sailors and just the changes over the years to training in the surface Navy. We did a deep dive drawing on the expertise of Admiral Montgomery and others. I will give him about that in the next hour and I'll get a link and I'll make sure it's posted out to the candidates. Don't go anywhere. I'm coming right back with Chairman Gallagher. Welcome back, America. I'm Hugh Hewitt, Chairman Mike Gallagher of the House Select Committee on Engagement, the Chinese Communist Party returns. We talked during the break and we got off course because we did a little football trash talk. But now we're back on course. Chairman Gallagher, have you read this book? You had Kabul, the untold story of Biden's fiasco and the warriors who fought to the end. It it made me furious. It absolutely made me furious. Have you had a chance to read it yet? No, but my friend Commander Salamander, who's great in his podcast, Midrats, I highly recommend, just did a podcast with with the authors. So I listened to it. It's not the same, but I am now looking forward to reading the actual hard copy. Well, the end of the book, which I don't know of Commander Salamander got to because I didn't get to it and I talked to him for a long time. It's about how the chai comms came in as soon as we left. They have designs on Bagram. They know what the air raids mean. They know what the strategic minerals mean. It's just a great example of what happens when we retreat in the world. In fact, in the in the this kind of war book you had me read, I wrote down some notes. A retreat once started as the most difficult of all human actions to reverse. And they were talking about the retreat of the Norcs at that point. And then we would retreat later when they counterattack with the chai comms. But we retreated from Afghanistan and they have come in. Have you focused yet on what they're doing there? It hasn't been, admittedly, a subject of a hearing. You know, we have experts, you know, regional experts and Afghanistan experts. I think the key thing to bring it back to the the presidential debate, obviously the obvious thing to do is to connect the surrender to terrorists in Afghanistan, our abandonment of our position, our abandonment of billions of dollars worth of military equipment to then the collapse of deterrence in Ukraine and Eastern Europe, because I do believe that our feckless position in Afghanistan sent a clear signal of weakness to Vladimir Putin. And no wonder Vladimir Putin ignored all of our warnings leading up to the invasion on February 24th because we look so weak on the world stage and we allowed terrorists to completely take over the country. And I think also that has had a negative impact on our deterrent posture in in the Indo -Pacific, across the Taiwan Strait. You mentioned critical minerals. I also think this is a huge opportunity for presidential candidates to articulate a plausible path towards reducing our dependency on China for critical mineral processing. They control 90 percent of the processing. Right now, I think our attempts to wean ourselves off of our to to establish some form of semiconductor manufacturing independence are not going to be successful, in part because the Biden administration has placed so many onerous regulations on grants for chips, fabrication facilities. But if a Republican candidate, particularly one with a business background or with a gubernatorial background, came in and said, here's our strategy when it comes to advanced pharmaceutical ingredients, critical minerals and rare earth processing, tie that to a robust domestic economic agenda. That's a massive opportunity for someone trying to pass the commander in chief test, because the reality is we are going to have to reclaim our economic independence from China in key areas. The progressives are experimenting with one way to do it. We need to identify a way that is fundamentally free market, but not but nonetheless achieves the actual goal of reducing our dependency on China. Chairman Gallagher, there's only one veteran on the stage, Ron DeSantis. Mike Pence has got a son and a son in law on active duty. Of course, Nikki Haley's husband is deployed. Those three know about this in terms of of why is China a threat? Is it a fair question to ask? Why is China a threat? What is it that worries you about China? Is that a fair question? If so, how would you answer that or suggest they answer that if you are one of the people on the stage? Well, first of all, I do think DeSantis has been really good on China and probably the best in the field. I was watching the forum that they did in Iowa. I forget what it's called, the Iowa Faith and Family Forum. And he proactively brought up China as an issue and talked about what he's done in Florida to combat the threat, talked about the threat in global terms. And so the most of the discussion focused on Ukraine. And I understand that that's more of a politically divisive issue on the stage. And so there is a you know, I think the moderators will want to identify the differences between the candidate thus far. Governor DeSantis has been talking in clear and unapologetic language about why the CCP is a threat and what he would do to combat it, which is greatly appreciated. More to your point, as a Navy veteran, I think he has a huge opportunity to be the Navy guy, be the guy who's going to rebuild the Navy and put it in a position where it can it can deter Xi Jinping from attempting to achieve his lifelong ambition was to take Taiwan by force. So to answer your question, Vivek just told me last week, we'll give them Taiwan after we achieve semiconductor independence. In other words, Vivek understands Taiwan is important for its semiconductor. Your colleague on the committee, Ro Khanna, tweeted at me last night when I was already offline that that doesn't do the trick. That's not why we're worried about Taiwan going down. Who's right? Well, obviously, our interests in Taiwan extend far beyond semiconductors. Our interests predate Taiwan's emergence as a semiconductor powerhouse. And if the concern from Vivek and I think it is that our dependence on TSMC for semiconductor manufacturing needs to be eliminated, I just would say two things. It's highly unlikely that we're going to achieve semiconductor independence by 2028. TSMC is investing far more money than the CHIPS Act is investing right now. Even under a Republican president, we would struggle to wean ourself off our dependency. But if the CCP had control of Taiwan, they would still be able to hold the rest of the world economically hostage. And that is the issue. Semiconductors or other or some sort of domain of economic competition. If they had Taiwan, they would be able to completely dominate the region through which trillions of dollars of international trade go. The other thing I would say, it's I mean, we got to go to break. I'll come back to go to break. We'll be right back with Chairman Gallagher during the break and then one more segment beyond. Don't go anywhere. America, I'm Hugh Hewitt. Portions of The Hugh Hewitt Show are brought to you by Food for the Poor. So I'm back with Chairman Gallagher, Chairman Vivek's answer to that is I'm going to get India to cooperate. And if Taiwan closes the Taiwan Straits, we're going to close the Malacca Straits. Ro Khanna says that's that's crazy. That doesn't work. I don't know what the answer is, but I know what Vivek has told me. I don't think he agrees with you, but I'll let him speak for himself. I don't want to put words in his mouth that we have to worry that much about the Taiwan Strait. Well, he's obviously very smart. I would say this with Marxist Leninist regimes, their appetites grow with the eating. So I think it would be a mistake to think that if we just surrender Taiwan on a date certain that we wouldn't have to worry about the problem. If they're the dominant regional power, they're one step closer to becoming the dominant global power. And that, I think, is the answer to your earlier question. Why? Why is the CCP a threat? Because they're trying to destroy our geopolitical position. Primarily by convincing us to destroy ourselves, they believe, as we mince words about whether they're a competitor or an adversary, they certainly believe that they're in an existential war with the free world led by America and that China will win, rendering America and our constitutional system of self -government subordinate, humiliated and wholly irrelevant on the world stage. So you can sort of think of it as as an assisted suicide. You know, they're trying to expedite our collapse. They provide the chemicals, fentanyl, the collapse in prosperity. Covid, IP theft, economic warfare and the self -loathing and depression via political interference and information warfare. So I think the the the threat would not stop after Xi Jinping had taken Taiwan. I think it would only expedite and become greater. So if you could read Xi Jinping's mind, what is he thinking about us? What does he want to see happen to us? I think he wants us to look inward and to abandon our position on the world stage and to be consumed with internal political battles. I also think he likes seeing us embrace this almost the CCP's narrative that America is an evil country. America is a neo colonial racist hellscape. I mean, this is CCP propaganda that a lot of Americans have embraced. I think ultimately he wants us to lose faith in ourselves as a force for good in the world. And ultimately, over time, he thinks the rest of the world is going to Finland dies more in the CCP's direction as an alternative model of government and world leadership, in part because America has lost faith in itself. That's why I think primarily the hard power is the most important variable. This is an ideological competition overall. And ignoring the role ideology plays in the competition is a fatal flaw. And so we need to find a way to press the candidates on that as well. You know, the we got two minutes before we come back. The ideological competition is quite simply not discussed. And I don't think our media is familiar with it. They're not stupid. They're ignorant of the ideological. They don't even believe it exists anymore. Chairman, have you run into that? Do your Democratic colleagues believe that there are such things like Leninist and that that the 20th century ideological competition is back with a vengeance? Well, I think for two and a half decades, we tried to take the communist out of Chinese Communist Party, and this belief persists that, well, they're not really communist. They're not really Marxist. They've embraced forms of capitalism and they're they're rational actors. And I think this is a dangerous way of thinking to go down, particularly under Xi Jinping. The party has embraced its Marxist Leninist roots. Xi's spirit animal is, in fact, Stalin. He looks to Stalin for guidance on how to operate. And so a candidate who understands that and can articulate that, I think, has a massive opportunity to distinguish themselves. The Democrats sort of come at the ideological competition through human rights. And there are a lot who genuinely believe in the cause of human rights. And though there are times when we have to prioritize between security concerns and human rights, this is when dealing with China, that's not an issue at all. We're coming right back. Stand by, chairman.

A highlight from The Incompetence Of Biden & Kamala Harris Is Stunningly Apparent

"This is your source for breaking news and what to make of it all. This is the Mike Gallagher Show. We always ask people, who do you want to see be the 2024 nominee? And six months ago, Ron DeSantis, he would always come up. He was the first one. If it wasn't Trump, it was him. People don't even mention it right now. They're not your kids, Joe. I'm sorry. And it also took you four and a half years to even acknowledge your own granddaughter in Arkansas. And we really could see Trump and maybe even up to a dozen other people face charges early this week. Now, from the ReliefFactor .com studios, here's Mike Gallagher. What a weekend. The Iowa State Fair. We want Trump. The crowd went wild as Ron DeSantis was literally overshadowed by Trump at the Iowa State Fair. You know, I'm going to say this, I've been saying it over and over again, and some people give me grief for it. In fact, Barbara came up to me at the event in San Diego the other night and said that she wanted me to be all in for Trump and I'm not supportive enough of Trump, which is news to me since I always get criticized for being too far in the tank for President Trump. But I'm sorry, I'm not going to deceive you or pretend that DeSantis is being treated really unfairly. Are you listening to him? Are you paying attention to what he says, what he offers? I believe that he should have waited until 2028. And I would dream of a Trump DeSantis ticket in 2024. But everything DeSantis says is exactly what America wants from a president. He's being treated really, really unfairly. Not a whole lot around that. And let's face it, if Biden is the nominee, I don't want to jinx this, but anybody should be able to beat him. Did you hear what he said over the weekend about the wildfires in Hawaii? Now this has been a devastating event. Thousands and thousands and thousands of people have lost everything. That one historic town is completely wiped out. People were jumping into the into the ocean to escape the flames. It's just a hellscape, right? So there's Biden on the beach again, again, man lives on the beach. He's only been on vacation in the two and a half years or so that he's been president about 40 weeks. Hey, Derek, would you get me a fact check on that for me, please? I want to get the exact amount of vacation time that Grandpa Joe has been taking since he was sworn into office after the spectacularly efficient and effective and pristine election of 2020, where nothing went wrong and people just revolted and a record amount of votes for the guy who never left his basement, who never campaigned, Joe Biden. Let's find out just exactly how many weeks of vacation he's been gone. Well, I'll get you that number in just a moment. But I want to play this clip of you because I saw this report on social media from a Bloomberg reporter covering Biden. And the reporter said Justin Sink from Bloomberg reported after a couple of hours on the Rehoboth, Delaware beach, Biden was asked about the rising death toll in Hawaii. No comment, he said, before heading home. I thought there's no way there's no way he can't be that out of it. He can't be that cruel. He can't be that detached. He can't be that addled. There's no way he's going to give a no comment to a reporter asking about the death toll in Hawaii. Now, this video and audio is a little hard to hear. Adam's going to crank it up as loud as he can. But there is video evidence of Biden's callousness. Will you come talk about the Hawaii response, Mr. President? He stood there. Any comment about the rising death toll in in Maui? And he said, no, no comment and walked away. No comment in his golf shirt with his stupid baseball cap on after he stumbled around the I'm beach. going to get a number here in just a moment. I want you to, I'm going to fact, I'll get a fact check here on how many weeks he's been on vacation. I know it's been almost half the time he's spent in office. Unbelievable. So Trump or DeSantis or Vivek or whoever it's going to be is going to be able to get on the debate stage and say, do you plan to work in your next term? Three hundred and fifty two days. He's been on vacation. Three hundred and fifty two days. I'm just going to divide this up as 50 weeks, 50. I thought it was 40. He's been on vacation for 50 with not 15, 50, 50 weeks. I mean, gosh, no wonder Eric Hanson was gone for two solid weeks. He's following a page from the Joe Biden playbook. You know, hey, if you're going to if you're going to go big or go home, forget this couple of days off at a time, take two weeks off, take four. Next time, Eric's going to take four weeks off instead of two. And Eric, too, has to go to the beach. Everybody needs like beach time. Everybody needs like mental health clearance time. Cars don't work. Stay home. OK. Guess Uber doesn't work. I guess Uber doesn't. I'm telling you what, the whole world's going crazy. If everybody around you is going nuts. What do you do about it? And of course, my wife always used to say, maybe it's not them, Mike. Maybe it's not them. Speaking of family, many thanks to everybody who's been praying for my son, Trevor. He had a surgery the other day when I was out in San Diego for our big event out there. Trevor had his toes amputated on his right foot because of his diabetes, who is always the cruel irony that Trevor is the athletic fit one that really just doesn't seem fair. You know, he loves to be he's very, very physical, very athletic, very active. They thought they were going to amputate his foot because of an infection that he got in his in his foot. Instead, they just amputated the toes. He says he's doing great. I talked to him a lot over the weekend, talked to him late last night. He said, Dad, it's the weirdest thing that phantom pain they talk about is real because my toes hurt. And he goes, I don't have any toes on that right foot. And of course, he sent me some videos and pictures. And I tried to be the strong dad without, you know, fainting as he's showing me his new foot. But he's a tough, tough young man and he's a warrior. And I am absolutely grateful for the prayers and the warm wishes that I've gotten from so many people for our family. His older brother is there. Brian's taking care of him. His daughter, Lily, is taking care of him. My other son, Matthew, is going into Minneapolis today to take care of him. So many, many, many, many thanks to the prayers for Trevor Gallagher. Of course, yep, he's the same one that had the car accident. Listen, when you see the car that he was driving when he was in the head on collision, do we still have that video, that picture that we can send out? Isn't it car at 800 -655 -MIKE? And you send and we'll send you back the picture of the car that Trevor was in, the head on crash in Arlington, what was that, a year ago, year and a half ago? And I knew with all the challenges he's had with diabetes, he was in this terrible car accident and he broke his legs, his knees. I mean, he had, gosh, he was banged up. Poor kid was banged up big time. I say kid, young man, what is he, 40 now. But lucky to be alive. But I remember after when I went to the hospital the day after his accident, I was thinking, gosh, I hope to heck he does not have further complications with his diabetes as a result of the accident. And inevitably that is what happened. So anyway, many thanks to the prayers that so many of you have been have been extending for Trevor. He's going to be just fine. I think it is right. Do we have it? Is that right, Derek? Yeah, keyword car. So if you send the keyword car to the MyPillow text line, which is 800 -655 -MIKE, you'll get a picture back of the car that Trevor was driving. He was in a head on collision. He's going about 50 miles an hour. How he survived that thing, I mean, I see that car and I just get a sick feeling in the pit of my stomach again. The car caught on fire. I mean, he literally had to break out of the door and crawl out on his badly broken legs. Both of his legs were shattered pretty badly.

"Thank you so much Well the global flavored water market did a little bit of research The size of it is expected to reach nearly 30 billion by 2028 at a compound annual growth rate of 10.3% over that forecast period This is according to report ten that's out by grand view research earlier this year They say the major factor that it's growing consumer demand for alternatives to sugary soft drinks according to their findings Well lot of new entrance coming into the space as well Trying to take advantage of that growth One of those new entrance is hey well the cofounders Ashley Salman and Britt already join us now on the phone from Chicago Ashley Brett how are you Hi Thanks for having us Yeah well thanks so much for joining us Hey Brett I want to start with you because the two of you worked together at Miller cores and you left to start the beverage brand And it's the idea is making wellness approachable for everyone How would you describe Brit Hey well Well halo are we make sparkling adaptogenic waters They're made with adaptogens antioxidants Wait wait wait What's an adaptogen I'm not the only one who didn't know that You didn't know what that was Sorry no I didn't So help me out here Sure And adaptogen is that class of plants that help us adapt to stress And they really just help people meet the demands of modern life our drinks when you need a little energy immunity focused or stress I need those things Listen I think you guys are Tapping into something Tim and I talk about it a lot I see it with my daughter I mean we're looking at we're constantly turning around the things we eat we drink and really wanna understand We want transparency to understand it and we really want to eat things that are better or drink things that are better for us Ashley come on in on the conversation here in terms of what the work that you're doing and the demand that you're seeing for this We definitely have seen a shift from people moving away from things that are bad for them to certainly moving to things that have been more neutral And then especially since COVID people are looking for increased support especially stress and immunity support from food and beverages So we're seeing a huge amount of growth there adaptogens We get that a lot like adapter what And so simply a class of plant it just supports you We use things like Chandra It's a very it's really nice for helping manage stress We use things like LCA amla berries a great natural source of an oxygen a vitamin C so we have taken these things that are really good for you and we package them in these convenient ready to drink sparkling waters that are low in sugar and calories And just made it easy to find the right occasion for you whether that's a little extra energy and immunity or energy and focus or maybe calm and restore So we have this line of four sparkling waters that we've made and that we launched into the market And I feel like it's just right on time in terms of what people are looking for Yeah the line includes energy and calm I'm curious about the distribution strategy here because how do you actually make sure that this gets to the actual convenience stores if people want to do it single serve or go direct to consumer by selling on your website Jumping here Ashley Yeah we've done a little bit of both I'd say when during especially COVID when retail was a little bit harder to break through we really pivoted and moved into the ecommerce space And we were just seeing explosive growth there and we've had some great partners whether that's good eggs or snack magic all across the U.S. and people were looking for convenient ways to shop that they didn't have to go in store So we've done quite a bit of ecommerce work And that actually took our brand a little bit more national a little bit more immediately than we had initially anticipated But in terms of actual veto retail locations we've targeted larger urban markets and specialty retail within that whether that's air one or Fox triad or whether you're in New York LA or Chicago those types of markets So that people can find them at that point of purchase Well on truth be told Brett we were our whole team here as we were preparing for chatting with you guys We're talking to our newsroom and looking at the different places that you can buy the product And I think target came up Walmart Amazon lots of places Where is it And I am also curious about your forays have it's happened or if it's in the future in terms of restaurants and the bar space like where are the places that you're really really Tapping into consumer demand there And you're finding the biggest sales Yeah we do really well in specialty and natural retailers across the country So places like foxtrot and erwan yeah So where people are putting priority and spending against health That's where we see these beverages do the best In particular we see a lot of momentum with Gen Z and younger age millennials That group in particular is just much more likely to put a priority on functional ingredients and leverage functional ingredients to help them with things that actually mentioned are critical immunity and stress Hey guys sit down for a second We'll come back and we're going to continue the conversation We are talking about Ashley Salman and Britt daugherty Cofounders of hay well it's a beverage brand They both worked at Miller cores for a couple of years And I'm also not a couple years longer than that And when we come back we can talk about what that experience brought to this brand in terms of maybe what they wanted to do and what they didn't want to do I also want to hear more about adaptogens It's sourcing of these ingredients I've just been like kind of going down a rabbit hole a little bit with this And it is interesting Lemon balm I'm a very and a lot of ingredients I can't pronounce Well done We'll continue our conversation just a moment You're listening to Bloomberg businessweek Carol masser Tim steineck right here on Bloomberg radio Well let's head to Washington D.C. for a.

All right, Number three. I've got the Rams here. I'm going to leave her the whole time. The thing that I think is really scary about that game and yes, they played the Bears and they played at home. And they didn't What is the real opening of of self I stadium with people. In the stands, But the scary thing is as good as Stafford was. He was really good. I think it's 2028 really effective. There were moments where he overthrew receivers and just looked not a big deal. Not The alarms are going off. Just looked like he was still getting used to the offense and what McVeigh wants him to do. And he was still Dynamic and effective. We know that's going to be one of the best five defense is in the National Football League. There are certainly some concerns with the run game, and I think that's a legit concern. But l A has all the tools now they have the quarterback they want. To be one of the best teams in football, and they certainly started off the season looking like Number two right now. She is the same two teams last year. It's hard. I'm not down. I got I got Tampa Bay here. That's that's that's where I got them. I know some people argue with this defending champions. Here's my thing. Here's where I'm coming from, and we'll get more clarity as the season goes on. I don't think the Cowboys are particularly good football team. I've been on the record as saying that we'll see if I'm right and I'm wrong and the bucks beat them, but didn't beat him by a time. I know it's Tampa Bay is I know the talent they have. I know they want Super Bowl last year. I think they're awesome. They're just not Number.

"To sum it all up in his own words. The easiest way to explain a Fisher house is, if you think about what a Ronald McDonald House does for the families of Children, allowing the family to be together to support their loved one during medical crisis, commissioner Houses do the same thing. Except we focus on military and veterans families. It becomes a catalyst for support of those who have served in the military. And it's a place where families can be with other people experiencing the same thing and somebody else, maybe two weeks further along and treatment, and it's a place where you can see their progress, and that gives you hope. And strength to face the challenges of the day. As I look to the future, there's still a tremendous need out there. If it's one thing we've learned in 2028, there are a lot of challenges. But life still happens. There are people who are still dealing with the regular illnesses. Illnesses beyond Covid, an injury and loved ones still need to be a part of the healing process. It's a little bit more complicated. But there's still the need to be out there and we have been able to come complete five houses. We've started new houses to meet the tremendous need across this country. We've also been able to develop some innovative programs to make a family's love just that much more accessible and available, even though We're dealing and unprecedented times, so the future is bright..

You told susie in theory the lie you told to keep him interested This is kind of along the lines of what we were talking about. A second ago said. I made him believe that. I am a huge alabama football fan. I even studied up. So i can know some history and current players. You he is such a fan and it was such a big deal and he was really impressed. Actually i could not care less but now we are married with season tickets and we go to all caps every game and this is my life but in her case it works. Yeah what just tells me that. It worked out okay because she married a rich man because they have season tickets. Possum care how much money they got. You don't lie about alabama and there's a lady that damned as you dare come in here on them out alabama that. She said he told the lie to her now. And i'm curious how this plays out. Because she says a guy lied to me about his in other words he said he was also a virgin and then she found out afterwards. He wasn't so how does that impact her decision to to go through with that. Well maybe she was. Just i wanna be with somebody who's as As per as i am okay especially yeah could be. I want us to share that each other and turns out he was lying face it. I want to lied to a high school boyfriend that i love the lake and swimming. I ended up on a boat with him in france. I can't swim. Luckily the first time we were out we beached the boat so there was just a lot of standing around in the water. I really just love cute bikinis and land by the pool. I managed to go an entire summer without ever having to actually swim. But i did jump on a big float a couple of times and flow to the lake. And i would just step back onto the latter off the float but i was all caps terrified. Pretty if you're putting out there. How scared would you have to be though you're on the big flowed first off. You're jumping on the floor. You realize if. I miss our tips over and i fall in the water. There's a problem and then stepping back off that thing back onto the boat again here. We go if i screw this up. This is going to be a problem. Because i can't swim. That's pretty good. That's pretty gutsy. Yeah to pull that off. You're putting your life on the line literally for this dude and there's another lady here that said there was a guy told her he lived in different states should in colorado at the time and he said he loved to ski. He flew out from virginia to colorado to see her and he rolls up with a brand new snowboard and the gear and they got to the top of the mountain she became it became evident immediately. He had no idea what he was doing but luckily there was a large group of people and she says ski patrol helped him get down to the bottom of the mountain and he spent the rest of the weekend in the bar. And that's where he admitted. I just really liked you so much and i. I don't know how to ski controls. Are you upset. Alexis by that flattered that he he went to all this trouble to keep me interested in convinced me that he likes. He flew out here. He bought all this gear. He doesn't know what he's doing but he just wanted to come on here. Because is that endearing at all or is it like now. You've ruined all week. 'cause you can't ski sleep. I would appreciate that been now. You had me come all the way to the of the mountain you could have just told me that when at the bottom the mountain view this so you could have both stayed at the bar side. Who me in the snow. you know. i go to the bunny slopes that's it i'm done you know. That's not actually where you put on bunny costumes. And hop around him. It's not where you get little little eggs full of prizes either. Whatever i know what it is and this lady gave us another guy who lied to keep her interested. He lied to me about his age. He said he was twenty six in reality. He was thirty two birth so the birthday cake is first birthday said happy. Twenty twenty-seven birthday seem kind of stupid. I did his first his first birthday. We shared i thought he turned twenty-seven nope i wonder why you picked twenty six as the age right probably closer to hurry. Get over it. It's six years. Is it a big difference and especially for a guy. It's not a big deal at all but she start. The whole thing is a lie. That's true your whole relationship has started as what else is. he gonna lie about. Acts reagan's if she was told you she was twenty six in reality. She was thirty two. That'd be the end of the relationship. Oh yeah he'll never duplicated. Tis the tj in thirty podcast alexis. You live alone. I don't know that My cousin's work schedule. He's been work until ten o'clock at night so i don't see him at all by myself almost all the time now okay. So that's interesting so you're like in the alone time you have your at a good amount of alone time now. But your girlfriend's about to ruin. That is what you just say. That's what i heard him say basically what he said heard. Yeah i mean maybe yeah well. Yeah i joined not having any alone time you enjoy not having time also talks about it all really wonder second donald maybe time alone and if he does won't on tv or movie just lay on the bed and asking questions talk while the movies on that nobody would want more of that. Yeah i mean. I don't want to sit there and have to say things like i don't know i've never seen it right now or with me is i would not want to ask somebody a question via text and have another person there Before i even hit send going what she say have seen it yet. "Like, mean, right now, my parents house and they had similar in sent to you and it's still really bad like that hasn't improved a lot instill, poor so Maybe as UK service, maybe a spare in the US but it doesn't give me a good impression of cloud bread was I think this is so far to go yet before it becomes mainstream right when everything be an additional Google Amazon now potentially Netflix it's it's I mean Steven said it before it's going to be the big thing. Isn't it really like it has to be off but I think more like my 2028 not you know. Yeah. Next year this year anytime real soon because the infrastructure isn't there yet. Yeah. And to get off a massive number of people to buy in enough to make it the mainstream way that we do this now, right? And that's why like Phil's already basically said that he doesn't see the Xbox series is being the final Lake Charles, right. Right. I think there will be at least one more after this one. And that might be it before we go into Cloud, but at least one more actual box. But anyway, we're we're doing a good job. I'll say it like introducing one topic I've been talking about something totally So let's see how we pull it off with this one so about, you know, about a year ago or so, we heard about a lot of abuse allegations that every soft and some of them not to be pretty for the company, right? And and now we're kind of learning that, you know, you're on not much has really changed yet. So, a lot and by that, I mean, a lot of the people that were accused of things are still in positions, and a lot of the HR people who, you know, allegedly kind of Hit the stuff are still in their jobs as well. So, let me let me open it by this and I'll kind of let you go. Like, I feel like I'm not surprised it's and not from an overly like pessimistic standpoint but okay, so a company is going to launch an investigation that involves a lot of their managers and Executives and the investigations going to be done. At least someone from the company's point of view and it's incredibly it's it's entirely possible. They found something that exonerated these people or at least cast some doubt or something, right? It's also possible to be impossible to find any of that song. The thing is, we don't know, but what we do now is every company. Now just gave me companies but every company tends to employ the tactic of. We're just gonna let this go away and then people will forget about it. And you know off-air before we went on the show we kind of asked each other. Like when's the last time you thought about this before you read this article? And we were both like not for a long time but against, you know, it kind of got out of mind and it's not to make light of the situation. Like if the allegations are true then there are, does that have to be paid for that. Right? But I think that is a tried-and-true you know strategy to just kind of let things go because people especially man right now people are so like addicted to outrage that they'll be outraged about something and then until the next thing to be outraged know about comes along and they move on to that, you know what I mean? So I don't know what are your thoughts here? I guess my my way of my my some summary of what I think is I'm just terribly surprised. Yeah, I'm not surprised either, but it's like you said, you know, a hundred percent doesn't excuse it. And some of the allegations that came out of Ubisoft. Like, I mean, I Abuse is abuse is bad. Like. They, there should be consequences..

And all of a sudden things kind of workout form. But is it gonna last forever? You're gonna break an ankle and that's It's really It's a great show. As you watch Senator War Do you ever think to yourself? You know what? When I run in 2028, I might call the rock up and I'd be my vice president. Now that's a thought telling you we're here to help you out because we know by the way that you're known for having plans because throughout the Yes you always said I got a plan. I gotta play first question. Did you have a plan? Or we just saying, I got a plan and then later, I really did have a plan. And in this new book I wrote persist. I talk about the fact that I had 71 juicy, fabulous, detailed plans and how the plans and the personal Leave together and get me up in the morning and into the fight, and I hope they get a whole lot more people into the fight to let me ask you a question. The book to title persists comes from Mitch McConnell trying to insult you by saying that you persist. Yeah. How'd that work out for you like that Slam E? I got two questions for you. Has anyone else ever tried to insult you with a positive word? And what were those other words? Yeah, I'm running through What? Michael? Bloomberg said. No, Not that I can think of. I'm sure it's happened. Somebody must have. Somebody must have called you smart at some point thinking, right? Actually, it's funny. You should mention that one. Yeah. Sounds like someone who prepared and you're like. Thank you. I did Did the homework, huh? Yeah. Yeah, You know, John Boehner had a book come out recently. And when he did the audio version of the book, he talked a lot of the trash about the real stuff that was going on. Is there anybody in the Senate that you want to tell us about that? You think there's some dirt I would, but they're all such nice people so losing Stay tuned for the next book. E Can't wait, Wait. I have one quick question is as I was reading your book. You talked about how When you were teaching at Harvard, you started going down to Washington and talking to them about The need for a consumer protection agency. And he said one Congress member laughed in your face. Who was that? Oh, I'm not telling you Come on her Senate one. Someone has decided that they are your friend, and they have voted for something that you care a whole lot about. Then my view is she We must have been friends forever. Can you tell us if they're still there? Is this Congress person still active? No hints at all. No. But But that person truly I mean, when I say laughed in my face, I mean, Ha ha ha. Not in a big way. I could see that person's filling. Now. This is another thing you talk about in the book when you were on the campaign trail. You became famous for taking hours and hours of cellphones. What? What's a pointer? You can give us on taking selfies that we should all remember the next time we do want It's a moment of create intimacy, and it really is. I mean that and we always call themselves. In fact, Nora, who's with me would always take the picture because it looks nicer itself is really your nose never looks good in a selfie. So Nora stands, you know just a couple of feet away and take it, but it also wasn't sure hands. People to just say the thing that matter to them that they wanted to tell somebody who was running for president. The United States. I feel so blessed. Who have had the chance to do that. And I should say it informed and help shape and gave me ideas for some of the plans that we developed during the presidential race. Wow, that's amazing. So you're meeting all these people? You're on the campaign trail. What was your favorite regional food? And what was one where you're like? I'm happy. I don't have to be on the campaign trail. You can never say the second one. Tonight. Everything great memory where, Um uh, including some of the regional specialties, But you know that I will say about campaign. Dang. I ate a lot of cold food because somebody went grab it for you while you're doing the town hall and 3.5 hours later, when the self he's done I'm telling you, there's a lot of food that does not travel well. Oh, it has lateness lasagna. Exactly. It has hardened How the cheese hardens up Broken plastic forks, trying T O eat lasagna that is cooled off enough. And of course, you know all the ice in your iced tea has melted. So now it's just Luke. Warm light brown stuff Sounds really glamorous. You You really are selling this presidential thing. I'm telling you. Yeah, exactly. Don't miss it. Well, Senator Warren, We've enjoyed talking to you, but we've asked you here to play a game. We're calling Senator Warren. How about Warren? Peace? Yes. "From help to retire Richard Pellets here. Good morning. Good friend. How are you, Sam? It's a beautiful day I wanted you're talking about Ronald Reagan and his leadership style. The best The best story I've ever heard about that. If you recall the Libyans let loose. A couple of their jets were attacking threatening our our Fleet off the shore, and our jets shot them down. The next day of reporters stood up allows the rumor has it. You slept through the entire thing and want a regular spots? Woz. We shot their planes down. If I shoot our place down, then wake me up. I remember forget about that Great anecdote. You're absolutely right. Absolutely right. And And, Yeah, Moammar Gadhafi, Uh, he also sent a couple of missiles into Moammar Gadhafi's tent. That was a great line from Reagan. But Reagan had that leadership style and it's okay to have that leadership style. But you have to have the right people in place. And if you look at Well, what we know of the cast of characters already, the Biden has in place. That's not the right team. Well, uh, I'll make a comment on that. It's the right team for the ultra left. Yeah, on and they're they're giving the message that you know, national Security is not a priority. Off. You know, windmills and solar panels are okay. We're energy dependent. That means we're dependent on our enemy. States are very volatile. Mid east now, you know. Are they a trump? Forget the human being traced which I didn't like his policy forced down the energy prices became independent and we we robbed their treasury of money because we drop the price of oil and fossil fuels. Strategically. It was a great strategy. Now, if we do the opposite we're putting money in the till of our enemies is not good. No, not good. No, we need to go back to being energy. Independent and we're not under this guy. And you know, I don't know if you heard this, Richard, but the secretary of energy under the Biden administration was being asked during the colonial pipeline crisis was being asked about What it would whether or not it would be okay to ship gas and oil by trucks. And she said she said, Well, yeah, and train cars. We could do that, but the safest way. Is to do it with a pipeline and these are the same people who canceled the XL pipeline. First thing they did when they came into office cancel the XL pipeline, which would have led to more independence. Of the United States. But no, That's exactly what that's. That's what Jennifer Granholm said. She's the secretary of energy. I want to come out with a sticker for my cars. That would say You voted for this. You doesn't serve it. Yeah, I know we're old enough to remember. People have stickers that said, Don't blame me. I'm from Massachusetts. I think that's I think you're you're suggesting is much more appropriate again. They're gonna pay a price because you and I read were very informed. The readers and listeners to your show are but we know there's a mass of people out there. "Daily what was interesting in that first period a couple of times. The Lightning had an opportunity to break bread and point out on a breakaway and they were just off a bit with their passes didn't take advantage of it. The Stars were able to take advantage of a bad pass by the lightning getting the puck out of their own zone, and they took advantage of Ah Rebound from Curtis Macaroni on to Jamie Lexie ex stick, but All in all one, nothing deficit. Not awful for the lightning and maybe what do you think they Build a little bit of momentum, Maybe in that power play opportunity late. The first I think so. I think they had a couple dangerous looks on the power play in the final six minutes, probably of that period. I thought they showed some push back there and some resilience because, like you said, Dallas came out and they played hard. They played probably some of their. This is probably some of the best hockey we're going to see from them because it's it's must win for them to be able to make it to the postseason. So the Lightning expect that and you mentioned some of the players like breaking point. I think he stood out. He looks dangerous. And he draws that penalty by Dickinson and kind of gets the lightning on the power play to get Mo mentum, and that's that's the whole idea is just getting momentum back in your favor, even if you don't score goals, and they created some good chances there and I think moving forward. Likely carry that into the second period. Yeah, You know, I didn't mind the store either because you on route is back in the lineup after missing several games with an injury. Was able to get a shot on goal at 17 2028 from the right point, and then the fourth line. You know, I thought was really good. Right after that shot he had Ross Colton. You had a good shot from a bad angle. And you saw some good cycling by that fourth line. And then shortly after we talked about barbell, a trying to get the puck up two points and that kind of led to some zone time for the stars, But I thought the 1st 56 minutes Letting had some decent zone time and not a surprise that fourth. I was pretty good. Yeah, I agree. The fourth line has.
