"So income on the file is based on two year old information, often called the prior prior year. So for the 2022 23 fafsa, which families just started filing, it's based on 2020 income. And the assets are as of the date the fastest file. So this suggests a few ways to try to improve your 8 eligibility. Don't artificially increase your income during that prior prior year. So if you're going to realize capital gains, offset them with capital losses. In fact, you can go reduce and have up to negative $3000 so that if your losses exceed your capital gains to reduce your adjusted gross income and thereby increase your eligibility by about a $1000 if you have $3000 of losses. You can avoid taking distributions from retirement plans. Contributions to retirement plans do get added back in as untaxed income, but the assets in that retirement plan are not reported on the facial. You can also use your assets to pay down debt. You don't really get any credit for having debt on the fafsa. But money in your bank is going to hurt you. So you can use that money in the bank to pay down your mortgage, pay off auto loans, pay off your credit cards. And not only is that good financial planning sensing, you avoid paying a higher rate of interest, but you're also going to improve your 8 eligibility from a federal student aid perspective. One rule of thumb I've come across is that often aid is distributed on a first come first, serve basis. So you should submit the as soon as possible. Is that generally true? That's correct. There are several different types of aid that are awarded in a limited fashion. So there are 15 states that award their financial aid, their brands on a first come first serve basis until the money runs out. So people will file the file system sooner. You can't more grants on average than people file it later. There are certain types of federal student aid like.

"John McClane, a guy that I respect a great deal, John. Good morning. How you doing? Hey, man, I'm doing well, said Houston's got six million people indoors because we've got an ice storm. This paralyzed our city, the worst in decades and power outages. All over the area, so everybody's indoors, So it's a very good time to be talking with you. Thank you for having me. Yeah, it's crazy just to see that ice storm to send upon Houston so rare, obviously, so hopefully everybody stay safe there and With the Texan situation. It just seems to grow more. It seems negative by the day after JJ Wise released. Do you think that it had to come to this? Or should JJ Watt have been a Texan for life? We've known since the season ended, what would be God? It was just a matter of whether he was released or traded. We've been writing that since he told us at the end of the year, he didn't want to go through rebuild. We all know it's a rebuild here whether they keep Shawn Watson or not, it was Watson playing great last season, improving in every single statistic despite the trade of DeAndre Hopkins, despite the loss of Will Fuller for suspension for five games injury to SWAT this evil Shot saving Randall Cobb cost him the last six and no matter who played name and watch them make them all look good. So he played great, and they still finished with the third pick in the draft, which goes to Miami. Complete to trade for Laramie Tunsil. And can he still so what situation? He has nightmares He met with them two weeks ago. He has them to release him so he would have a chance. Go to another team they could have kept in one year left 17.5 million, but by releasing him, they wiped out their cap problem and gave new general manager Nick the stereo. Several million to spend depending on what they can. Finally, yes, but what.

"He could play a little bit, but I e. Don't know who else on the Washington football team I put on that list. Look I think that JJ feels like he's got a championship run left in him and the one thing he hasn't done. Monica he has won the Walter Payton Man of the year. He has been the defensive player of the year. He has never played in a conference championship game, let alone a Super Bowl. So what's the team like? People are saying Pittsburgh? I'm not sure. You really want to go play for Pittsburgh? Right now. You think you're going to put them over the top like they're They don't look like an up and coming team to me like a team that you're gonna go win a Super Bowl on. No. There seemed to me to be too real contenders. I'm curious. Your take here, one of the NFC one of the Air Sea. Green Bay is an obvious one because that's from Wisconsin. He went to Wisconsin and You know, like that. Reggie? Reggie White went to the Packers when he was 32 went there and won a Super Bowl on JJ will be trying to do the same thing, right? The FC one is is the Browns. I think because they need to pass rusher opposite Myles Garrett, and that's the kind of up and coming I think more of a Super Bowl contender right now than Pittsburgh. Really are there any other teams you would like to put on that list? Cause we know half the league apparently is called about in interested in JJ Watt. So just in terms of odds to get back, I thought Chiefs I'm not 100% up one if they actually need or have room. Um, but in terms of quick run formula that was chief for my first thought. Tampa So I thought about that. But then what? Who's Who's there? J. P p. And those guys check check birds that potentially a free agent. I mean, after the Super Bowl he had he could have been Super Bowl M v P. I imagine they would like to bring him back. We'll see what happens over the course of the next month. With those negotiations. That's all that's a lot of guys toward the end of it Z2 very big names toward the end of their career, reviving themselves in the retirement state of Florida. Tom Radio DJ. What? But I mean If that man Yeah, Yeah. Triple eight, Say ESPN. 887293776 Ethan is in New Jersey on Game night with Aaron Goldhammer and Monica McDonough. What's up, Ethan? Hey, I was just wondering what you guys think about JJ walk, becoming a free agent and all You know, it's a great question that Z sort of been the nature of this, Ethan. Thank you for the call. I think that's sort of been the gist of the of the segment. Right? To pro Goldhammer, right learning so much from you, but nobody hold on. I want to be respectful T. Ethan. It was this segment not about What and where he's going to answer evens question. I think the biggest appeal for me from JJ Watt as free agent is the leadership and the quality character that he's could bring to my locker room with the ability to assist on some sacks. I mean, if he gives you five again in a position where he is not the primary guy like No, I mean that's you know, respectable. So then it's how much right because you don't want to pay him like a guy who's going to do, you know, put up double digits acts if he's sort of going to be in your mentor, coach role, and Be a guy who's not going to play on 90% of the defensive snaps. Maybe he only plays 60% or something like that. But you know, he's a big name. I think he's a bigger name than this plays a productive player. At this point in his career, I think he will generate more clicks for ESPN dot com. That he will produce plays on the field. But that's not to say he doesn't still have value. I just think of his career is a 18 holes of golf. He's like on sitting on 76 Day. Well, yeah, right. Right, Right right around there. What about Dallas? Funny enough, because if we're doing names and stars and all that, But do you feel like Dallas you want if you really wanted to win a Super Bowl if you wanted to go somewhere where you thought you could win. Like you want to go play for Mike McCarthy. No, You're right. Okay, so then so then I guess that's where we probably hit our fork in the road. Do we believe that J. J. Watt wants to make a championship run, or do we still believe that J. J. Watt is looking to get paid? I mean, they did for this version of him. Obviously, I think he's got to be the one answer that. But I would guess that asking for his outright release from $17.5 million J. J. Watt wants to go somewhere. He's made a lot of money. He's you know, from endorsements, toe contracts. He's made a ton of money. I think J. J. Watt wants to win when big for the first time in his career, he's a Hall of Famer. Regardless right. I mean, if he retires tomorrow, he's a Hall of Famer. Three time defensive player of the year. 20 sacks season is all of Famer. But, um, he never once he's never been to a conference championship game, let alone go into a Super Bowl straight ahead. We got an M V P duel in the mile high going on right now and potentially a major injury for the Lakers. We will update that situation next time, Aaron Goldhammer. She is Monica McDuck. This is Game night on ESPN Radio, the ESPN app coming up Monday. The Chiefs have won seven straight Air Sea.

"John mentioned 1/4 round pick when John mentioned specific things like that. Pay attention. I'm not saying that That was a report that John just made. But I've been around John long enough to know that when he says things with any sort of specificity like that, you need to pay attention because there may have been an offer. That may be what the market was settling in at for JJ Watt 1/4 round pick and you'd save yourself. He's still a really good player. Why just the fourth round pick? Well, he's older. He's had injury issues and he had a contract. That was $17.5 million. That's a lot of money. You need to be a great player to count 17.5 million against the cap in a year where the cap is going to go down by about $17.5 million. So I think JJ still got a lot left in the tank. I think something's probably gonna get a bargain is my guess. Um But I wonder with Shawn Watson. As he looks at that situation, it may he sees them. Let JJ Watt walk. It's only it can only be one of three things. If to Shawn Watson is observing. This is assuming that to Shawn Watson is still paying attention to things that are going on with the Texans. He may be checked out. I guess that would be the fourth option. But to me, it's only it can only be three things. What makes it interesting is did Sean could look at that and go? That's a classy move by the McNair's. You know what? That's a move that makes me at least kind of think of talking to them again. They're doing some things that are right by the players. Because Lord knows that they've done plenty of things lately. With decisions behind the scenes at the players have have not had positive things to say about A lot of them are little decisions that might not concern people not listening in Houston. But just trust me the trust level of the roster with upper management not great. So did Sean could look at as a positive or to Sean could look at it and say, Hey, man, if you're trying to make the team better for me. Why would you not trade him and get a draft picture? You can at least take a swing in the draft and get another player in here. That's the second choice, and those are two diametrically opposed viewpoints. So it's either one of those. I'm curious which one it is, if I guess it just from covering and knowing to Sean and covering him. It's probably the former I My guess is he's more happy for JJ Watt than he is at all concerned. The team didn't get a draft choice. Honestly, it's probably the third choice, which is to Shawn's probably not moved one way or the other by it. I think it's sad to see JJ walk. Oh, Much, but as far as how it was executed. Probably not impacting his situation greatly. I would imagine. All right, 855 to 1 to four. CBS, If you want to get in make Cleveland wants in on the J. J Watt talk. Jim is in Cleveland. Jim. Fire Way, Man. You're on CBS Sports radio. Thank you for taking my call, sir. I'm going to say JJ's electrical shorts could be Cleveland..

"Now call him at 855 to 1 to four. CBS That's 855 to 124227. Yeah, that's the number 855 to 1 to 4 to 27. We'll get back to the phones. A lot of you wanting to get in and tell me what your city would do to get J. J Watt. I am basically JJ Watts agent today. You don't get to J. J. What you gotta get through me first. And if you didn't have to get through me My guess is you have to get through our next guest, who I know is also very fond of J. J. Watt. And that's John McClane of the Houston Chronicle, The Hall of Famer. He joins me on the phone right now, John, did you ever think we would be talking on a national radio show together and I'm sitting here looking at a phone board? That's a bunch of cities. Talking about what they would do to get J. J Watt on their football team. And this is actually gonna happen for one of these for one of these cities have crazier these times, man. Well, sir did because we've been saying he's gotta be Gon's is receiving that season ended. It was whether it be a trade. Are related. So I wasn't surprised at all. And then nobody should have been. But some people seem to bay and I thought the McNair family did write my hand. They could have Trade in for maybe a mid round pick. 1/4 round pick to somebody's He wouldn't want to go. And that new team would have given him new contractors. They wouldn't pay What 17.5 million. I don't think this year So you had two written do a new deal. So he went over to Jasmine. There's house two weeks going that was being her family. He told him exactly what he wanted. He wanted to play with the contender. I didn't want to be part of a rebuild, and he asked them to release him. And they said Okay, and now He has got to be the happiest guy maybe in the country because he Congar Oh, to attain that he believes is competing for a Super Bowl. And money's not gonna be the top issue and he wants to have fun again. You know, football's not fun for what We saw that almost every week near the end of the season, when we would talk to him during the week after games, you could tell he was miserable, Everybody Woz, but not everybody's been a three time NFL. Defensive player of the Year in the winter, but Walter paid man of the Year award. So they did him a solid and I'm really happy for him, and I can't wait to see where he goes. There's a lot of options. Right now. You didn't have any idea where he's going to be. Yeah, It should be fun Idea, John. I was just making the point that previous segment. He's probably never been through this process to this degree before going all the way back to when he was in high school. He's never been a guy who's got a chance to sort of the belle of the ball. He was a lightly recruited to star With the central Michigan and walked on it. Wisconsin and he's never been a free agent in the NFL. This is something that likes candidly deep down. J. J Watch, probably kind of excited to get flown into these cities and get get wined and dined because I would imagine he's not going to be a $25 million year player again. But I would imagine there's going to be teams that are crawling over each other to try to get him on their squad. I don't think money will rule. His decision. Also, don't think one of these bad teams with a lot of cab money is going to be able to get it. He's made well over $100 million in history, and he makes a fortunate endorsements could make more if he wanted to write out the bad we all say Pittsburgh because he has a great relationship. With his brothers, but they don't need the feds. They don't need a defense event. They don't play a system that fits him. He's played in a 344 threes played outside. He's played inside this part of his career. He likes to play outside better because he didn't get beaten up. As much when he's inside, but he could do both. It's start outside and slide in. I would guess if you had a 43, and he got the line up in space. That that would be a situation he'd like. But I think scheme is not as important as how good the team is stability of ownership. He doesn't want to go somewhere in the coaching staff get fired. In a year, which people Chicago we're bringing that up just because his wife, Kelly, a place for the Chicago Red Stars of the women's soccer leg, and everybody says Green Bay where you go back home. From being from suburb of Milwaukee. Little walk Jeannie as a home and Milwaukee and he loves the Packers, and they're close to the Super Bowl is in last free. Two championship games, and if he wants to be a Super Bowl contender, go play with Tom Brady Shack. Barrett wants to break the bank, he said, so he leaves after being franchised last year. That would open up the spot and he could go there and get a yacht sail around Tampa Bay with Tom Brady and Giselle and and enjoy the great life over there, but one it shouldn't be ruled out. His close relationship with Mike Grable and Shane Boeing, who was here with great bone went with him to Nashville. They need defense they wanted division with 11 and five record had only 19 sex. Defense was mediocre a lot of time and want to come in there and help them immediately and said Blood just played two times here against his former team. Yeah, John, you know, let me bring another one up for you to get to play two times a year against his brother because I feel like JJ might get get us. Much of Ah rise out of that, as he would play with his brothers. And it's a relationship that he's very close to us Well, and that's Anthony Weaver in Baltimore. Who's the new D line coach there? I don't know, John. Like when we sit here and tell you mentioned the Titans and boy that would be a kick in the junk for Texan fans, wouldn't it if the Titans wound up with him, But if I were JJ, John, I don't know if I want to go to a team where they're picking me up. Because I am a need player. You know what I mean? Like, I think I'd rather go somewhere. It already has a pretty good defense. And I have to deal with some of the stuff I've had to deal with with the Texans the last couple years, drawing all that attention. What do you think? Thank you loves Anthony Weaver. He's told out to us So many occasions. The Ravens have a really difficult decision on Matthew Jude on one of their best pass rushers. And and, uh and you have that to be a possibility, but I guess the relationship he had with Grable. He knows that offense in and out from going against it twice a year and studying tape being P. Dane Peas left there to go to Atlanta. Shane Bowen took over the play calling and and he knows bowing very well. So that seems to me to be a match made in heaven. But if he's got saved teams like It's our Green Bay, Baltimore in Tennessee, making him authors and it comes down to it. You know what is gonna be the decisive factor whether head coach defensive coordinator money Uh, so he's gonna have a lot of options. I don't see him jetting around the country and meeting with teams. I could see him and Tom Condon, his agent, narrowing it down, having a lot of zoom calls. And you're not breast of what is when he was talking to people. They're going to be blown away by his personality. One thing you do not have to worry about with him character and work at because both are legendary. And I think you'll end up with a good space. He played every game this year and hadn't had any problems with anything other than a peg 12 muscle going back to 2000 and 17. So a lot of that two years he missed a lot of two years with injuries than the second half of 2000 and 19 with a pectoral. Torn pectoral and when she came back from in the playoffs, so he hadn't had a lot of wear and tear on his wheels over the last four years, And I think I could see JJ playing up to all these 35 years old. That's what he wants today. Yeah, if he stays healthy, John McClane joining me on the program, John. I've gotten asked this a lot over the last couple of days, so I'll pose the question to you. You mentioned that the McNair's basically did JJ a solid by letting him walk. He sat down with them and they came to that agreement. Um, how tempted do you think this franchise was Maybe not Janice McNair. But how deep were the discussions that were there Any discussions about the trade scenario versus releasing? What scenario?.

"Um One thing I discussed with my collar. If you wanna make an NFL point to go back to the baseball stuff to Casey and I talked about that school phones open immediately. 855 2124227 the JJ watt situation down in Houston. I, too. When I first heard about it. I was rather surprised. I said, Wait a minute. They're getting nothing in return for J. J. What? There's not a team in the National Football League That wouldn't give you at least a pick in exchange for JJ Watt, and then I did the contract numbers and it dawned on me. How it probably shook out. No, I haven't seen anybody report this as fact or confirmation from the Texans. And or JK what himself. But I'm pretty sure I can figure out the way this came down. JJ wasn't really too happy with the organization and the direction it was Saturday, and the whole could trade the Shawn Watson thing. And he's got one year to Rana is contract at a big number. $17.5 million. He did not play like a $17.5 million player laid here. And for the first time in years, he actually stayed healthy for almost the entire season and in sack total was only five. So I age is starting to catch up with J. J. Watt now. Maybe he played through pain, Maybe at injuries that you and I don't know about. It didn't keep mad in a lineup. Maybe he will be back to being JJ Watt again next year. I don't know that. But coming off the year that he had 17.5 million looked like a lot for the kind of production that the Texans got in from JJ. What this past season. MP allows the team that Texans pick to trade him to to do so. Well, then he's gonna get his full $17.5 million Because teams going to give something up for him. They're not gonna give up a draft pick to turn around and cut him. So chances are they would the team that would make the trade form would like to talk to him at a time. And say we tell JJ would like to talk to him about his deal will extend It will give him s'more guaranteed money. But we can't take a $70 million cap it next year. So we've got a We do his contract chances on the Texans reached out to J. J and his response was No, I'm good. Renew my contract. Redo my cunt. You're gonna pick the team that I need to negotiate with to redo my contract. No, thanks. I'll just keep my contract as is at $17.5 million, but its upcoming season then I'll go free Agent neck here. The Texans have women. You gotta work with us. He said. No, I don't. No, I'll stay. With the contract that I have in place. When the Texans realized that he was not going to be conducive to talking to a team ahead of time for a potential trade and oh, by the way. You can't blame JJ for that. Because if you're negotiating with one team The tax is going to trade you to team May or Team B your team, see what? Whatever that team is your negotiating with them and on Lee them. If you don't believe that the Texans want to pay you 17.5 million for this upcoming year. They only have one other recourse. And that's to trade you. Oh, sorry. We can't do that. Could JJ won't negotiate? Well, then I guess the only other recourses they're going to release him. Because JJ probably dug his heels in and said No, I'm not going to re negotiate with anybody. If you don't want me back for its 17.5 million, and another team doesn't want to acquire me for its $17.5 million Well, there is a way that we can remedy the situation. Released me. Cut me. That will make me an immediate free agent. And you were guys won't be on the hook for the $17 million. And they said, Yeah, we'd probably not like to do that. But when push comes to shove, they relented and said Yeah, JJ will do you a solid will let you go so that it could be a an amicable parting of the ways because not everything has been Am Ecole amicable down in Houston of late So JJ played his cards right? Got to Texans to release him now. He wondered. Get 17.5 million. The taxes weren't gonna keep him. The new team. New is going to trade for him was gonna ask him to take a pay tight and extend with the signing bonus but would go out over years so they wouldn't have to take that big a salary cap it no, he'd rather be on the open market. He'd rather be a free agent. He told the Texans. Listen, If we do this now and give me a jump on the free agent market will all holds hands and sing Kumbaya. And you can say that it was a mutual parting of the ways which the Texans want to win at least one PR battle ever. Lisa JJ wide, which is gonna make a bunch of their fans very happy. At least some will say well least both parties wanted it. JJ wanted to hit the free agent market, and the Texans were willing to let him do that. So that's the way I figured it happened behind the scenes. I don't know if that's the case, but I'm Pretty sure that that's the case. He played his cards, right? JJ Watt played his cards right, And I think the Texans did basically did what they had to do. They weren't bringing JJ walk back. If they wanted to get into another spitting match. They've already done so with their starting quarterback. Now you're going to do so with the best player in the history of the organization. That's really going to bury him with their fans in that town. So they said. We gotta save some face here and we need to just move on. And we need to do with a smile on our face and get jaded, jaded to help us out and put a smile on his face and the way they got him to put a smile on his face was Him is outright release. "And said today. Again. We expect to Sean watching to remain a member of the Texans, and we look forward to having him back. Shawn Watson is signed through 2025. So the question I'm going to ask you today is Now that the Texans Granted. J. J. Watts wish He said. I want to go play for Contender I want Oh, I want to go to a team that's trying to win a championship. We're coming off a four inch 12 season. We just made a coaching change. We don't have our first round pick. We don't have our second round pick. I want out. And it made sense for both. They didn't want to pay him. 17.5 million. They give JJ Watt what he wants a fresh start somewhere else. 32 years old, the chance to latch on somewhere in when a Super Bowl. My question for you today is Should the Texans do the same thing for to Shawn Watson. Now I'm not an idiot, Okay? I'm not saying Don't misconstrue my message. You think Mike Florio from pro football talk got himself in over his head with this? I'm not saying that the Texan should release JJ Watt. I mean, should release to shun Watson. I thought saying that they should just cut him and let him become a free agent. That's moronic. I don't know if that's what Mike Florio meant, but a lot of people are taking his words. And twisting them that way. I'm saying to Sean Watson feels the same way about the Texans. This is JJ. What? He doesn't want to play for him anymore. So what should the Texans do? Should they give in to the player, so they give the player what he wants? We've already established a precedent with a star player. They just gave JJ Watt would he wanted? So They do the same thing to do, Shawn Watson. And I want to hear from you on this today at 855 to 1 to four, CBS 855 to 1 to 4 to 27, The Pony Express, CBS Sports Radio. I would trade to Shawn Watson. If I'm the Texans. Would I would make that happen sooner rather than later. And here is my rationale there, Okay? I get why the Texans are mad at him or feel Slighted by dish on Watson. I think that there are some, you know. Look, I think sometimes you turn on a radio show you turn on us talking head TV show You only get one side of the argument with this stuff. I think the Texans because they're an easy team to kick while they're down and make fun of right now. I think that they do have some reason to be annoyed by what does Shawn Watson is doing and let me tell you why. They gave to Shawn Watson $160 million. Week before the season started. They gave to Shawn Watson $73 million guaranteed. Yeah. So Right up front. I think in a signing bonus So This happened this this extension for watching didn't happen two years ago. It happened. Days before. The Texans played the Chiefs just kick off the 2020 season. Here's what I think that's important. Because a lot of the things of the Texans have been criticized for and rightfully so, ah, lot of the horrible, incompetent, boneheaded mistakes the Texans have made. Shawn Watson knew about those mistakes when he put pen to paper. When he signed that extension with the Texans. DeAndre Hopkins was already in Arizona Cardinal It's not like they bamboozled him in tricked him. And lead to Shawn Watson to believe. One thing. And then as soon as he was committed to the Texans, they turn around the trade his number one wide receiver. I think the timeline here is very relevant. Shawn Watson. In a way I knew what he was signing up for this Jack Easterby guy who was becoming more and more a household name. If you follow the NFL, Even if you're outside of Houston, you're finding out more and more about this guy who went from like a life coach in New England. The Patriots hired him. After the Aaron Hernandez saga. They wanted someone to work with their players on a personal level, not about football work on them. So they hire this Jack Easterby guy who had been a chaplain with the Kansas City Chiefs. So he goes to Houston. He does some of that, but he also wants to get involved in the football side of things. And he was getting a bigger, bigger role in that into Shawn Watson a couple years ago, came out and said It's a good thing we have Jack Easterby. He comes from a winning organization like the Patriots. In fact, Watson said, We're blessed to have Jack Easter be working for us. So look, Opinions change. Things change. But I'm telling you right now, I think the Texans have a right to be upset with Watson. He knew what he was signing up for. He knew he was gonna be the face of the franchise. You know, we had to know. That Bill O'Brien was on somewhat shaky ground like He didn't go into this with blinders on His eyes weren't closed door shut to everything was happening in Houston. Now players are allowed to change their minds. We change our minds about our workplace. I'm sure you might have worked for a company for five years. You liked him for the first two. You've despised them for the last three, but you don't have the leverage to get out of that job and go work for someone else that Shawn Watson does. Because he's a quarterback and he's 25 years old, and that makes him one of the most coveted players in the entire NFL. Now the Texans can play hardball with him. They couldn't find him. They can find him Every day doesn't show up the training camp. They confined him over $600,000 for every preseason game he misses. And they can No, they don't have the family. They can Not to give him his game checks if he doesn't show up. I mean, this could be a very ugly standoff between the two between the two sides to Shawn wants it in the Houston Texans. Here's why if I'm Houston, I do it. I trade the guy. Why would you want Your best player. Okay? Your best player, your most important player, your highest paid employee. Why would you want that representative? Of your company. To hate your company..

I'm sure yes, there parts of this country where that would not be such a big deal. But here And beautiful Austin, Texas If it's going to get down to one turn the panic alerts on all right. We're not making fun of people's nipples bleeding because they run too far. Uh, JJ wide eyes available if anybody is interested, theme, the Houston Texans Great defensive end Uh, says that he works he requested to be released. Actually, I have I have J. J what You wanna hear for a long Has anyone on that team still not requested to get the hell out of there? Very good point. Very good point. Here is J. J Watt today on his instagram. I want to do this on video, supposed toe, putting out a statement or doing don't know. O. J. J Watt wanted to tell you himself, JJ Watt woman into Yeah. Make it about him young more. You know, Donald Trump. He knows where the camera is at all times this JJ Watt. I want to do this on video supposed toe, putting out a statement or doing a press conference. You watch my face. Move without watches right here directly from me. I want to speak directly to you. In the city of Houston, so you can hear the word straight from my mouth. I have sat down with the McNair family, and I have asked them for my release, and we have mutually agreed to part ways of this time. Came here 10 years ago as a kid from Wisconsin had never really been to Texas before. And now I can't imagine my life without Texas in the way that you guys have treated me besides draft night. I mean, you guys move me on draft night. Every day After that, you treated me like family and I truly feel like you're my family. Since that day, I have tried to do everything in my power to work and earn your respect and try and make you proud on and off the field. You guys have given me everything and more, and I can only hope that you feel like I've given you everything I have the city of Houston's been unbelievable to me. It's where I met my wife. So I've met lifelong friends and my teammates. I've had incredible coaches and training staff and equipment staff, retiring workers and the weight room staff and the front office. People and people on the streets. People in restaurants. Guys and showing up in my house. The connection is special crates will never, ever take that for granted because I know how rare it is. I'm excited and looking forward to a new opportunity and I've been working extremely hard. At the same time it is. It is always tough to move on. I just want you guys to know that I love you. I appreciate you. I appreciate to make their family for drafting me and giving me my first opportunity, NFL. Thank you, Houston. I love you, JJ. Why? What s so he's asked for his release and the McNair family in the Houston Texans have granted him they cut. They do that idiot. Okay. Trade him. Trade him get something for him. That's funny, because I am sort of interested to ask both parties. Why what's going on here? But since you brought that up, Ed Um yeah. Why would you not trade JJ Watt? I'll tell you, maybe because he is a neutral asset. Maybe he has no trade value. Disagrees. Natural to make $17.5 million next year the the not guaranteed so the Texans air able to cut him and know him nothing, but I just don't know. You see, that's the thing is, I think that yes, the Texans would have if they could have. If there was a market for him traded him. I think I think Tennessee is going to get him. Think 10 of the Tennessee Times and the Texans gonna have held the pain when he starts, sack and Whomever the quarter and they tell you to back his next season or so. Let me just say thank you, J J for what you did for the city of Houston. No matter no matter if I think it's a trash city or whatever. I mean, the dude. The dude poured his heart into his philanthropy there, and you can never take that away. He'd literally changed lives there $37 million. Something like that. He raised for hurricane relief in the trash can. Banker. I'm too Yeah. What Jason Yes. You're gonna have to really hate it when he wins a ring with Tom Brady next year. Oh, if you're gonna be a Tampa Bay buck in here they don't need in their Tampa Bay. Yeah, you just watch out. I'm telling my well I'm looking for are telling you if we're speculating as to where he lands isn't Pittsburgh the answer? Don't you go all what? In the steel city? All the family. I think he wants to win a raging and Derek are are there in Pittsburgh? Um, well, okay, so yeah. Let me ask from the other party because he gives this minute and a half I wanted I wanted you guys to hear it from me. Message. He doesn't have any point Say why he is that And why he is asking for his release. Now, I guess. Come on. He he What? He just doesn't want to be all right. We're all watching this movie of the same time. I want to be on the sinking ship of the Houston Tex. He doesn't appreciate the foul aroma of Dumpster fire. And he's living in it there. Look, e. I mean, know what? How What else could it be? Why? Well, and if he brought that up, that would be against his. I am JJ Watt. I love everybody. I mean, I just I feel like I'm I'm doing explanation, JJ, if you you know you you said that we treated you so good and that you love Texas and you want to bring Jason Uh, he's in the twilight. He probably knows he's not working. How about this? How is this? Just my JJ Watt hater. Ade speaking here, okay? He requested his release. As the Texans were gonna cut him. All right, the touching Texas Holy Is that what you heard that your girlfriend's gonna break up with? You broke up with her first member in middle school. We're gonna get in. Get in and listen at you. You unlocked the whole thing here. Why would they just give him away from free? I mean, I guess you could say because they're a bunch. What? What? What? What They littering idiots. They're a bunch of blathering idiots in that. The Houston Texan management team and ownership. The only be only explanation is that they feel they owe it to him. After what he's done for the city in the franchise. They owe it to him to let him write his own ticket and go sign with whoever he wants, because if he has value, then you would trade him and get something for him on. So if he has no value, and you are a team that is bottoming out and starting over, I think it's an absolute possibility that he was getting cut anyway. And they this whole, I asked for my Release thing is saving face for my guy, JJ Watt, so he doesn't have to get. He doesn't have to get fired by the Houston, Texas. You're totally right. The other The other headline would have been Texans cut JJ Watt, and that's what you're saying as far as legacy, And if there is this kind of like, let's end this animal could be amicably. It's a completely different narrative. Jason, You're right It is, and I can't disagree with you more on this because if those pea brains within that organization would have would have cut him All hell would have broken they would be in there would be boycott. We'll have live season ticket. That's what Peter was saying is that this is a mutually beneficial narrative. And again this public relations head losses, my own speculation here. Nobody. I've seen no reporting that they were planning to cut him. Just a nameless faces. Absolutely. Makes sense. Accusation. No. Well, look, it makes sense because it makes sense from both parts. JJ Watt, you know, gets to say this was my decision, and then the Texans don't have to go through the PR nightmare of cutting. The best player in franchise history other than Andre Johnson, and that shop, DeAndre Hopkins. It's a Texas didn't have a history of doing this than I would give. I would be 100% behind you, but they are just inept organization. So maybe they were like those just, you know, let him go away. Texans fans Where you at? What do you think of this? 51283605.

"Just let me ask, you know Jim O'Dea continue to grow and cut your losses with Callahan because he's missing the one ability you need, and that's availability. It's funny because the nonverbal communication going on here between big Alan I. I'm shaking my head on K. Jack being gone. I'm checking my head on Bryce Callahan being shown the door. He's clearly our best secondary player. And that includes a defense that features a guy like Justine Simons. I mean, uh, this team, you know, it's like saying that you don't want to see Courtland sudden back when you're saying You don't want to see a guy like Grace Kelly bag. You know, he's great. I'm not saying I'm not saying it's eminent. I'm just talking about hard conversations. Another one that they're gonna have to have is what is von Miller's deal? Look like it's a team option at 17.5 million bucks 22 a half against the cap, do they work an extension with him to let him finish his career here? I would love to see it. I know you guys would most love to see it. I think John Elway would would like to see even finish his career. And you know, von wants to finish his career here. But you're gonna have to figure something out there too on then you talk about guys on the horizon Sudden and Bradley Chuck. We're going to be around the corner. Alexander Johnson, where you mentioned off the top. He's got their steam control for one more year, so he'll be restricted in that. And I know the exact number between 2.5 and three million bucks. So put a first round tender on him, and then that's what they'll pay him next year. Then we'll have to pay him big money at some point between this coming offseason and next march, before they let him it's free agency. Or maybe he's a franchise candidate after next year, But they're going to make hard decisions because you can't keep everybody you got too many young players and you start paying and too many vets that you've still been paying. You know that that says a lot about this team. It really says a lot that we're talking about the young players coming up through our organization and we have to retain them. Not like we have to go out into the free agent market and go get guys. It feels good to have our own. Hey, BK before we let you go. We, of course, got to get to your final prediction of the game. And here's my question before you make your prediction, okay? Um yeah. Drew like is coming back after some adversity on Against the Kansas City Chiefs. He does, or I do think he does for a couple reasons. We know about the struggle last year in the snow coming home for the first time, you know he grew up 15 20, Miss Maryland grew up loving the Chiefs and has gone probably two more games and he can count there. And so it didn't go great for for him or for his team in that trip, and mom showed that Snow was no problem. There's nothing seems to be really much of a problem for Patrick. We don't know what the gap is between Drew and Patrick, but I imagine grew in his head thinks it's not as great as a lot of us looking at it might think. So I think between what we saw last week or two weeks ago, with the Dolphins coming off the injury of certainly I think affecting the four interception performance with the Raiders, then having to miss the same scheme in the embarrassment that came along with that I do think we'll see a good game from him. And I think that the one thing they've tried to stress with Pat Shurmur and with the rest of these offensive coaches and picked angio Drew is to not try to do too much, suggesting what the defense gives you. We know they've got three really good defensive players and they were talking about this week. Obviously Chris Jones if he's dialed up special on Sunday football, you gotta watch out for him. Frank Clark off the edge, and the honey Badger. But they have some vulnerabilities in that defense and I'll be on drew to take advantage of it. I haven't seen the number on the propaganda may go check it out when I get off with you guys, But I think he's over yards might be worth looking at, and I think you'll see a couple touchdowns from and you know you want my prediction. I'll tell you, I think it's gonna be a closer game in Vegas things. Spread on this game. By the way, I think is 13.5 right now. Yeah. I like him to cover. I guess I'll throw my score at you. I think it's gonna be Broncos. Don't have enough. At least I'd love to be wrong, but I think they cover I think it's 32 24. Okay. 30 to 24. That'll be interesting BK. We appreciate it as always enjoy the remainder of your weekend. It's It's little different on the Broncos or playing on Sunday night and we will catch up with you again on Monday. Sounds great. Enjoy the game, guys. And let's hope these Broncos shocked the world. Absolutely go. Broncos. All right, Ted, that is our K away. Bra. Kristin Cider Brandy crystal Being brought to you by Coloradans for responsible energy development will be come back. We'll hear from head Coach Vic Fangio and his thoughts on the chief's It's Broncos Game Day on K Away news radio. Way news.

"Now let's go under the hood with the Nordstrom's motor medics. Welcome back to the under the hood. Show the phone number to reach us 8665944150 what's caught your attention, Automotive wise. I grabbed an article that I read. That was kind of interesting. We've talked about it before. But the average this is from the thie average used car on the road now. Is 11.9 years old. It's going up and they say, because of the pandemic, things have just elated on that way. 2020 was set to be almost was set to sell almost 17 million cars. And the record is actually 17.5 million. It was set back in 2016. And they said the pandemic put a halt to that, but they're still expected that this year will it will sell 14 million new cars, new models coming off, But they said that that is pushed the Since that's you know, to 2.5 1,000,000 cars that are different than it will be pushing the average average age back. 2 12 years, which doesn't seem that seems like a long time until we do this show, and every call is I got a 99 this sir, in 2006 that and you go. Wow, That's 12 years is not that long at all. Well, I've got a 17 year old vehicle and it still runs pretty good. That's one of my vehicles. That's my newest one and A lot of people that drive those I mean, half of our vehicles that come into our shop are our average age of cars that are shopped is 14 years old. We come in? Yeah, I'll go get some older ones we get. We had Ah, 2018 and their 2020 in there in the last couple weeks. But we've also had some eight late eighties stuff. Um It doesn't matter if the car runs good. A lot of people are in the mindset. Why replace it? But they have offset they're trying to figure out how do we make sales? Well, there's a lot of 0% financing for 567 years on some of these vehicles to try to move on. But still Take the money that's going to cost you by a $70,000 vehicle. It doesn't matter 0%. It's still going to be a It's gonna suck away a lot of money, but people are buying them. Ford has kind of stepped up with what they call their augmented reality driveway dealership. So you can download this app on your phone. And you, Khun basically go through the whole vehicle inside and out. Three d views. Look up! Look down! Look all the way around. See this whole thing, decide if you want it or not. That's a way to test it out. It's kind of like getting new kitchen or something and put everything in and say this is what it look like in your room. Well, that could make a difference, because if you're just looking at a picture on the outside or inside You don't really get the The full functionality of what it looks like. I want to look over here. I want to look over there. How much leg room do I have? I'm just curious if you can put your like your Oculus. Alright, that would be really cool. Just sit in your living room chair. Put the glasses on and look around and you only check this out. Someday we'll get to the point where we can actually drive it. That would be cool when we went to the sea. Michelle. Last time I went, you didn't get to go off. I took a video of this, said no video, but I took one anyway. What's between you and Chan and you deserve a videotape in all the time when you shouldn't so they had a rapture. Set up on a platform on the trailer, and it would move like a ride back forth. Up and down. Had the engine sound the whole bit. Then they had the windshield was replaced by a TV screen, but it looked like you're Once the thing came on, it's like you were really there and they were driving in the rally in Baja in the Raptor. So you're you're flying things air shake and you hear the engine sound? It's just wrong, and they're like you're actually there. That would be great. Reverse the car. If you could just hop into something like that a simulator at home and you could actually test drive the cars, But they got to do things like that, In order to get people to Be able to be more comfortable with With sales. A lot of these places you'll pull up. They'll come out to the parking lot, signed paperwork so you can pick up your your new center or whatever it might be. They deliver stuff. Drop it off in your driveway for you to check out. There's all sorts of things you can. If you want a touchless experience about wherever you khun go, you can pretty much Get it, which is is the norm for a while anyways, and it There's nothing wrong with that. You know, it works great auto parts stores. They're all pretty much delivered out to the curb or giving delivered even someone we're delivering right to your house. There's a lot of lot of things like that that are Are available now, and it's it's It's just the things we adapt to at our own place. Well in it, the other things he was, it seems This. The pandemic has just kind of accelerated all of that It's still there well, doing it before with Tesla's you, you know, but now they've put their perfecting and now everybody is just it's not even They might do with the exact same, but we're just used to it now, and the thing that's helped us. There's a lot of times, even with our radio show. We don't want to try something because we want to make sure it looks good and functions well when we present it right. But what it's done for a lot of these people, they said. Well, we're not going to try that curbs. I pick up quite yet because it may not work. So many people are used to Half something half working now, with the pandemic that they're like. Hey, they've got it available. I don't care how poor it is I mean in. It'll get me the right product in the end, but it may not be. They might not have it refined Well, now is a perfect proving ground. You'll hear radio shows doing like A Skype in call or zoom or something. They're like, Well, that doesn't sound very good. Well, it's not supposed to every newscast in the country did that months, and there's still a lot of we're doing that kind of thing, so it's accepted and then they get better, and that's how they learn going by what you just said. I could take it the other way and say that Our level of competence and sound. The rest of the world has finally come down to us. So we're right in that We're right at the top echelon. Now everyone has brought it down to our level. I like that. That's good. 8665944150 we call that number. The hoody hotline. My name is Gail Hamilton and I live in Bardstown, Kentucky, But I have a 2000 and eight expedition. When you go. We're like sodium, 40 Star stuff, shake a little bit and or but I don't cut out and just shake the joke. Someone they're set up to catch missions with transmission. The guy I bought it from. And it was the wheelbarrow. Can you give me any information, please? Well, if it's happening at that low speed, but not at a higher speed. I would rule out wheel bearing because a wheel bearing typically gets noisier louder. More problems as you accelerate the higher the speed you go, The more noise you'd have in expeditions. We don't put a lot of wheel bearings on occasionally a front one. But non very often, they last a long time. Transmissions on those again. Those were pretty good. Don't see a lot of issues with transmissions on the On those vehicles. But one thing we.
