"Credit because, you know, think about what they've been through how they had to leave home and go to Dallas for a couple of weeks to finish training camp and then prepare for this game, and they're virtually on the road. And I think Peyton did a great job of making that, at least from what the New Orleans people told me. Making that turning that into a positive where he could get his guys away from everything focus on only the task at hand and go from there, So I think you know hats off to an excellent coaching staff. Dennis Allen had a great plan defensively, and, um, you know, the Packers were unable to get anything done and just one of those days for Green Bay. I'm afraid when it's hard to point blame in one direction when you have a loss quite like that, But I'm trying to figure out what I'm most surprised at the fact the Packers gave up 38 points or they scored. Only three That just seems like you know, inflated total on one end and a anemic number on the other. Yeah, Gregor. I think it's the offensive part of it. That's the most surprising thing. I mean, who who could have guessed this? A team that led the league in scoring a year ago, just three points a team that was second in the league at 49% of third down conversions one for 10 in that game yesterday, a team that led the league in fewest turnovers in the entire season, three turnovers yesterday. Those were the surprising aspects of it. I think more so than even the defensive situation, you know, and I think it's it adds fuel to the fire of well, Hey, you didn't play guys in the preseason and you could look around the league. There are probably some teams who didn't play their starters in the preseason, who won yesterday. Given the Packers off season. It's an easy thing that you know to discuss. I guess of the two. I was a little surprised. We didn't see more defensive starters just given a new scheme in a new system, but Is that a valid argument as we stand here trying to rehash what happened? Well, Matt LaFleur yesterday after the game said You know you can you can you know hindsight is 2020. But you could certainly question all of the ways that they approached the season and one of the major factors was not playing any starters for the most part outside of the two rookie offensive lineman. They played them, but not playing starters, especially on the defensive side of the football in preseason. Now, the Rams do this, and this is where met kind of got this idea, you know, from Sean McVeigh. He doesn't play his starters either. And yet the Rams have been very successful on opening days in the past. So, um, you know, I think it's something they'll take a look at Greg. It is something they will come. Consider going forward to next year, but Next year is a long way off. Still lot of work to be done. Hey, remember, the Packers still have 16 games to play, so there's a lot of time to get this corrected. Wait, I don't often hear I could probably count on one hand, maybe just a couple of fingers. "And a half the bears had gone over this mark with whoever they were playing in the first half last season They had gone over 22 and a half first half total points combined with the other team and 9 out of 7 or excuse me 9 out of 16 games All right now you add a point Now this first half total is set at 23 and a half That reverses it Now the bears had only gone over that last season and 7 out of 16 games So a majority when the first half total was set at 23 and a half a majority of those games stayed under that total So that's a significant shift that really is The ramp split that They were 8 and 8 with the first half total at 23 and a half Doesn't give you a conviction one way or the other But now that it's at 23 and a half I think even more so than the full game total that this deserves to be getting attention to wanting to bet the under The offense may come alive in the second half more so because both of these new quarterbacks in their new systems are getting adjusted more so You get more of an understanding of the opposing defense and how you could potentially attack them So if there's going to be a higher scoring half it's probably going to be that second half The first half is going to be an adjustment period for the whole team overall on both sides But more importantly each respective offense with new quarterbacks More energy from the defense going to be hustling to the ball Everybody get in there The defense will come alive more so in the first half if you're giving me an extra point in the first half with a bet I was teetering on one way or the other I think I'm probably going to have to bet this under 23 and a half And hey if you keep getting action to the overall be patient and wait I wouldn't imagine it 24 and a half but if it does that is an absolute blessing because I can envision this game being a high scoring first half in prime time for Sunday Night football But that's where we've seen movement 22 and a half at bed rivers up now to 23 and a half in the first half Total points by the rams it's still at 13 and a half which is seen a shift in the odds originally with a total points for the rams in the first half It was minus one 22 to the over minus one 14 of the under Now the under plus one O two in the over minus one 43 so people thinking Los Angeles could get to two touchdowns and look again I get it I think the secondary is a liability for Chicago so two big plays could put you in that position But again the bears had only allowed three opponents last season to score more than 13 and a half points in the first half Two of those opponents were the packers and the other were the Atlanta Falcons at the very beginning of the season Rams offensively only went over this mark of 13 and a half first half points in 6 out of 16 games Again consider the Russ consider the new schemes consider this a slow process to begin for both teams would lean toward the under for the better value as well at plus one O two I'm not necessarily in love with it I was a little bit more when we talked about it recently But I think maybe now that safer option is to go with the under 23 and a half Because look can we get enough out of this bear's offense I really don't think so I really do not think so especially right out of the gate The total points though despite my sentiment on it has moved for Chicago from 8.

The nine and I'll tell you what I'll say. I think there'll be 10 and seven. I think they'll find a way to get into the playoffs. There will be three games this year. That will determine whether or not this is a playoff team or not. There'll be three games that come down to the last minute and 37 seconds of the game. They'll either have a lead in the defense will have to find a way to get a stop, or they'll be behind by four and the offense will have to find a way to score three games this year, both Kansas City Games Well, I mean, I don't know which games but you stop thinking about the last couple of years. I mean, they had they had chances to win early in the season, and the defense couldn't stop. Who do they play The bears? And somebody else went like the length of the field and score them were like those are the games. Something about this 2015. We all know what a great season that was in the regular season. There were 16 games. 12 of those games came down to the last two minutes of the game, but the Broncos found ways to win. They get an interception in the end zone to keep had a big interception against the Vikings. They just You build confidence by finding ways to win and this team. The last three or four years has not been able to do that. Like the Tebow way to win. Well, I don't know about. You know, we're talking about miracles. Divine intervention. When all around us, we are getting the sense Everywhere, but perhaps in the NFL while you're still competitive that the regular season isn't overly meaningful. You know, Hockey has done a good job of trying to keep it meaningful in their players because everybody plays sort of a different environment. Uh and and they've done a pretty good job of giving you authentic product. In the regular season, and the NFL does because because when they sell you a big game, oftentimes it is a big game. Because of the way they're struck, Uh, structure is the advantages of being in the postseason Seated either getting a by or getting home field matters. It's one game one and done playoff system in the NFL. So they've done a good job until your team is eliminated of making you believe that every game is a big game. So they've done pretty well in that regard, But the other two sports, the NBA and Major League Baseball have really fallen flat in selling us that they put a lot of importance on the regular season. Last night was an exception. The Yankees really wanted that game and coal really wanted that game, and there is, let's say it up out front right now. There is a chance that Coal and the Yankees pay a price for that. That they win the battle and lose the war. If Cole gets hurt, or if he is sore next week has a sore shoulder has a sore elbow than that moment was great. But it costs you and we'll see about that. Only time will tell on that. "Goodbye to the 16 game era in the NFL League owners officially approving the expansion of the regular season 2 17 games on Tuesday. This decision is good for almost everybody. Almost let's start with the obvious. More games means more money, lucrative TV contracts, create more revenue for the league and for the owners that will hopefully trickle down to the player contracts at some point This is great for fans all over the world to last preseason football, which we all hate and extra meaningful regular season games, taking going forward and a guarantee that starting in 2022, every NFL team will play a game internationally. In the next eight seasons, the Packers finally begrudgingly will have to go abroad. With one group. This isn't good for is maybe the most important group The players themselves less preseason games gives them less when opportunity to prepare for the regular season. Everybody still gets just one by week's arrest is that even more of a premium and contracts will now be spread out over 17 games, as opposed to 16 like before. In the aftermath of this decision, numerous players, including Packers safety, Adrian A. Most voiced their displeasure on social media. They're the ones putting their bodies on the line with no promise of increased rest or increased compensation. I get it. "Thoughts on Arkansas in general because the AD now at Arkansas was the eighty that hired Kelvin Sampson to Houston. My opinions this I'm not sold that that Kelvin Sampson is leaving Houston for console. It can happen. But I don't think that that is as much of a sure thing as if you're a type of person that follows the coaching carousel like as the stuff at breaking your kind of a college hoops junkie. I think it's definitely on the table. But I'm at this stage. I'm not totally convinced that Samson's Lieven h down for Arkansas. The only thing that Arkansas can do to convince him is just make incredible amounts of money. Just put incredible amounts of money on the table. These SEC's schools have so much money. Now, if they wanna pay a basketball coach five million dollars a year, they can remember a few years ago, Alabama like put an open check on the table for Gregg Marshall, and we're willing to pay him whatever they needed to pay him. He just didn't want to go coach there, but it wasn't a money deal. So Arkansas can put real difference making money in front of Kelvin and maybe get him to jump, but what he has to figure out and this is reasonable minds can disagree on this.
