"Don't spend hardly any time on them because it's just like it's a total waste of time. But every once in a while, I have friends who are on them. And they'll bring me some wild thing that they read on the message board and it's so wild that to any reasonable person is like, what are you even doing? But these people often like they really are thinking along these lines. Like they really believe it. For instance. Last year, I got a buddy. He's a fart state grant. Lost Florida state. And he texts me, I don't know. February, march, and he was like, what are you hearing on Roy Williams at North Carolina? Are you here and he might retire? And I'm like, well, you know, at his age, you're always, you know, near retirement. So nothing would surprise me, but I'm not necessarily hearing he's definitely retiring. And I said, why, what's up? And he said, well, I just read on the message board for state messing with. He said that they were going to push sort of nudge Roy Williams into retirement and hire Leonard Hamilton to replace him. And I actually texted back. I was like, are you serious? And he was like, yeah, that's, you know, it's like good sources. I'm like, why would North Carolina retire Roy Williams and hire 73 year old Leonard ham open? What are you talking? You realize I was crazy that sounds? It was half on it though. He had half of it right. After it was right. But there was apparently a thread somewhere somewhere about Leonard Hamilton's going to be the next head coach at North Carolina. Which would have been fine with me, but like North Carolina is just not going to hire a 73 year old. Literally Hamilton's going to coach at Florida state until he decides not to coach. And then that'll be that. But that's what is often on message board. Some wild stuff, man. There's a good, I don't follow this, because I think it's mostly college football, but there's a Twitter handle account message board geniuses and occasionally it'll get retweeted into my timeline and some of them are phenomenal. Incredible. So yeah, I got to give ricotta a call. The other, by the way, George Mason will play James Madison on Friday for the 100th time in school history, both those teams are undefeated. And mason can get that win, I believe it's a road game. Then it will really start to be developing a legitimate at large candidacy and we'll see what they can do. If George Mason gets the NCA tournament, this season and Missouri just kind of does what we think it's going to do. Then yes, I suppose after just one season, there will be plenty of English noise to return. The other game we should probably talk about that happened on Thursday night was I didn't realize this till I was watching the broadcast Xavier gets a big win at home against Ohio State. Did you realize this was the first time these schools had played since that awesome, awesome tournament game in 2007. Trivia time. Was on the call. Who was a play by play announcer for that game? Gus Johnson? That's right. I don't know how I remember this. I might have just guessed. I might have just guessed it. Phenomenal game, though. Phenomenal. And trivia time. Oh, come on, bring it. I'm one for one today. Because it was one of I think that might have been the last tournament where they played on the old floors at the schools where they played in. It was before the NCAA just ruined all that and put that bland crap on the floor. What venue was that? Oh, that was clear. That was clearly played at Pinnacle bank. I don't think Pinnacle bank existed in 2007. That would have been arena. So that was a second round after that. Xavier and Ohio State, Ohio State. Won that one. Xavier won on Thursday night, what was your impression of that game? Listen, great win for Xavier. Remember, they're still playing without Zack Freeman, who was their leading scorer last season. He averaged 16.1 points, 8.9 rebounds. He had surgery middle of last month for a foot injury. And that's usually the recovery from that injury is like a 6 week deal. So he could be back at the end of this month, maybe early December. That seems to be the timeline, but he's not back now. So they're playing that without a super important guy. And you still knock off Ohio State, you know, pulse grug's got 14.6 rebounds four assists in that game. He's now averaging 18 6 and 4.3 assists through three games. So he's having a really nice start to this season. Xavier is now three O, I did push them into the top 25 and one. They're in the 30s and most computer rankings, but you know, I'll give them the benefit of the doubt for now. Coming off of a big win on Thursday night. To me, the more interesting thing is Ohio State. Because they're now one in three against the spread. Barely beat Akron despite being a 16 and a half point favorite. Only beaten Niagara by ten despite being a 19 and a half point favorite. And then lost at Xavier by 6 despite being a two and a half point favorite. So they haven't been performing to expectations. And I think there's. An obvious issue relative to what the preseason expectations were. And it's that Cedric Russell is giving them nothing. You know, he's the transfer from Louisiana that people I made, not a big deal. It wasn't like signing huge deal. What wasn't like signing amani Bates, but it was like, hey, they lost away in Washington. But they're grabbing Cedric Russell. This transfer from Louisiana, who averaged 17 points per game last season and shot 40% from three on 7.3 attempts per game. Like some of that's got to translate. You thought, I went back and looked it up in this off season when they secured the commitment from said Russell, I that was a reason for me to update the top 25 and one and I moved them up based on that edition. Now far, but some. Well, he played four minutes against Akron, missed the second game of the season because of a death in the family. Played 8 minutes against Bowling Green didn't play at all against Xavier. Again, he was supposed to help ease the loss of Dwayne.

He was outstanding shot Well, way above 50% at 10 for 16 scoring. Puting. Jones Cobi Jones, a career high 20 points for him to go along with six rebounds. He also had two steals in the game. Other double figure scores were Nate Johnson and Paul Scruggs with 14 points apiece. Nate Johnson. That kind of stats stuffer of a game. 14 points, seven rebounds, six assists for him. Past grabs. 14.6 rebounds, six assists. For him. Kunkle struggle from the field. He had five points. He was to pretend shooting from the field, one for seven from behind the arc. Harder. Jason Carter three points, two rebounds. C J will chair three points for him in 12 minutes. He also saw Kiki Tanny enter the game. He played five minutes and scored three points for ST John's. They were paced by Sham Penny, who had 21 points and five rebounds. Early 10 16 point really hurt the Musketeers on four for five shooting. From behind the arc. Pasha Alexander. Nice game. 15 points, eight rebounds, nine assist. For the small point guard. He just was a thorn in the musketeer side all game done. At 17 points called three Williams eight Wool suit, too, and more at 11 points and five rebounds, including four dunks Interesting. Early two came off the bench. He scored 16 points and he was huge early. He was 4 to 5. From three point range of the ball game. At one point, he was four for four, Perfect five for five from the field. He had a big influence on this game in the first half. Yeah, he did. Joe, and I think that was the key in the game. It was the offense from ST John's ever just Could not score. I mean, could not slow them down ST John's Scored. 93 points think that's the second highest amount of points given up by Xavier and those ever gave up 46 points at halftime, which was The most in a half for Xavier savior also gave the only other time they gave up more points was in an overtime win versus Eastern Kentucky. Xavier also I thought shot a lot of three pointers. Xavier's 11 40. You know, I'm thinking you're talking about the defense. I'm thinking Xavier could have escorted you make five more. You get 15 more points. You're still play 16 of 40 from three point range. That's you know that that great not real bad, but they could have perhaps got here. Win and It was a game. I was surprised Byron How aggressive Both teams were from the get go. The first five minutes were frantic up and down the court three point shots flying for both ends and it had all the year. Markings you said is being a shootout and pretty much was and the better shooting team won the ball game. Yeah, that's just kind of what it it turned out to be. I'm sure Travis still did not want that kind of game, especially on their home floor. But that's what That's what it turned out, and not a favorable result for the Musketeers were hoping to talk with the coach. The next segment. The final score. ST John's 93 The Savior Musketeers. 84 year, listening to Xavier basketball familiar field. I am Jay College on 700. Wlw. I'm looking for a new job. "I think this is our first full week that we've had our full squad healthy and able to run. So I mean, man, we're just trying to get ourselves to Joe. We're still You know, bad on the little things that trusting each other on the floor and like, tonight was another good step in that direction of on that trust, And like, in the last three games that we won, you know, Lucas Lucas gave up the ball in the end to get somebody else a shot. You know that trust is Caring over to everybody. So now like everybody's not scared to make that winning play and on that winning effort, man, and it starts from your best player like especially What is it gonna be like when fans actually back and you're playing in front of them? Man. It's gonna be That energy. We all were missing so much like so the house so like, pull your energy out every night, Um, with no fans, it Zenit's tough man. It's tough. This the first time in You know, history that we've had to do something like this. And without no fans, and none of the rock Ron stuff like that, like, you know, if it is interesting, and it is, ah, Kind of crazy time. So to deal with that, But, um I think that's that's that's the edge that teams are getting, though. Like if you got a team that can bring their own energy like that it gives it gives an advantage for sure hit him on twenties. A great following Twitter. The Willy C s 15 will be Trill Colleagues died doing his thing off the bench tonight for the Dallas Mavericks, 14.6 rebounds and beat the Atlanta Hawks. 1 18 1 17 a pleasure having here with us On Freddy and Fitz Simmons will be a pleasure talking to my friend Keep being safe. Keep doing your thing and thanks for joining us in the night after having a big win versus Atlanta. And in love is love and appreciate. You buy that a chance to talk to that young man when he left Kentucky to go to the NBA, and I said Boy, basketball doesn't define a guy like that, because not just sharp but just aware of things, and I know what he said about Mark Cuban. He said, Hey, he was willing to do that. And take pressure off of us. You want to continue to play hard for an owner that always has the players. Best interest, especially he knew exactly what that conversation was going to sound like it became public about the Dallas Mavericks. And if they get back into the winning college be there tonight and keep that going on. Who knows that could've been a galvanizing force on and off the basketball court involving the Dallas Mavericks and their owner, Mark Cuban. This, too, shall pass. But the marriage may be better for ready for better things as the season goes along. The name of the game is a bad name started Dallas Cowboys, their quarterback, money and respect. That's next. We're back on Thursday, and I'll rape my way too.
