"Love it. I enjoy it. The story of the day in college football is about Oregon. Let's not kid ourselves about what the story is today in the sport. Oregon had a really impressive day. You go on the road. And you go to the horseshoe. They were 14.5 point dogs. 14.5 point dogs. And you go and you win outright. You go when you went out, right? You gotta You gotta give your applause. You gotta give your flowers to Oregon for going on the road. They did it without potentially the number one overall pick five starters on defense. And we ain't talking about a neutral site game. You went Into the horseshoe. Their first game, their first home game of the season. Sold out rockers crowd great energy and leave with a win. I know that flight home is going to be luxurious. Luxurious. A really impressive win. For Oregon. I thought that was the story. Of the day. There was some other good stories today. But this this was a very different week than last week. Last week, it was college football's back and just hitting you over the head with matchups. You know how it is that week one you get the great slave with the great inter conference matchups. And now you know, it's kinda picking shoes. You kinda gotta find your spots a little bit differently. But Oregon. I cannot say enough about what they did. Can't say enough about Oregon and the wind that they had tomorrow is going to be a fun slight in the NFL to it's exciting to have football back and have These kind of conversations and I have the fans back in the stance. We got Steelers and bills. Cardinals TITANS Seahawks Colts. Chargers football team. I I actually like the football team. I know they were kicking around some very goofy arena Football League team names Or like creative team like those of you that used to play in C double A football. Remember when you play those directional schools, and you will play like FCS Southwest Dragons. That's what Washington is doing. Just leave. It is W F T. Everybody loves it. You're the football team. Short, sweet to the point. Self explanatory. I love it. Browns and Chiefs, Dolphins Patriots. Saints.

And we don't know if Matt Jones capable being special. They have to try and win now in, they think they can win and compete. Now, I just don't know if they're ready for Super Bowl status. "But they have a lot of skill on the outside. They have a lot of a couple good running backs their offensive line need to get better, but that's another fast kind of aggressive. Play with your hair on fire type of defense, and those are the kind of defensive that are given problems in the past. Um so, uh, hi. People stayed at home. They don't play them and be her stadium this year, which is always a tough game. So that takes a little bit of air out of the two. But I think Penn State and Oregon are pretty similar teams and when I kind of size them up Penn State's always played Ohio think really tough under James Franklin, with the exception of Franklin's first year opened, like 11 Score Games one point game sometimes, regardless of where the game is, so I still think it's going to end up being Ohio State's toughest game, but this organ will be close. You know my question would be and we'll see them later today and, you know, the second biggest matchup of the week, Bill. Is that Iowa has the secondary to match up with Ohio State's wide receivers. They might be You know, outside of Alabama just because that's saving specialty and they pump guys in the NFL, even though they lost a lot there like they might be the only team in America that can do that. You know, And but there's always a ceiling on Iowa. You know, and they would have to get through the West. Even though things like easier after the first week of results, you know that they're a quarterback is usually limited. They're not going to be a great offensive team. They're going to be disciplined and they're going to try to win with defense. But their defense looks great, and it will be put to the test later today, but you know, that would be a team where they beaten Ohio State, but it's usually there and it's usually when they're not that good, right? Yes, it's funny. What typically want to hide? It was a big 10 game. It kind of comes out of nowhere. It's not. It's not You don't you don't see it coming, And I think you know the way the Iowa play against Indiana last week. I don't think that be a game if they were to play each other in the Big 10 championship, especially but you would be kind of stuck up on by Iowa. I don't I don't know if anyone is going to speak up Ohio State this year, but I better do like like I watched that game Last week, I watched Wisconsin against state And that by the rest of okay, what I was going to go to Indianapolis Play Lifesaving championships. Just like the West is not very good. Um, I think Minnesota could have been good. But now the library is out for the year, so I don't know what they're what they're feeling is it's obviously lower than what it was when the season started. The Rasca is not good. Worth Western. I don't think it's going to be good. So then my mind, it's Iowa vs Wisconsin and I think I was defensive better. And I think Iowa. Like you said. It's not, you know, super high level offensive team and they have a better idea of what they are and what they're capable of offensively and just like it feels like every like four or five years. Iowa just like flips it up picture into another gear and becomes a team that's going to like, just kind of steamrolled through the West and get to the Big 10 championship and I know I don't want to overreact based off one game. I guess we'll wait and see what happens today against Iowa State, But I feel like this might be one of those Iowa the engines a last one. Uh, the reaction to week one. That was pretty much Alabama's head and shoulders above everybody else. But if there's one team that could beat them in, line up and not just beat them and fluky fashion It would be Ohio State. That narrative that's out there. Do you agree with that bill? Um I would I would put Georgia on that level to, um And obviously you have to consider Clemson, although I don't know Clinton's offensive line scares me after what I saw nothing in Georgia, but Georgia defensive, nasty. Um I think you're going to get better offensively when they get some of their playmakers back. I believe I drink tea. Daniels have hurt. So, like I said, the monitor that and see what that means Long term, but I think it's it's Alabama above everybody. And then I think like that second tier of challengers. The line starts with Georgia and Ohio State, and it's kind of everybody else running up behind them. Bill Landis from the athletic Joining us to talk about Ohio State and Oregon. Right now, the line is Ohio State favored by 14.5 points. Ohio State ranked third, Oregon, right, 12th. And yet the oddsmakers think this game is going to be a blowout. "State we've seen it before, and they're different from Clemson. In this respect. Ohio State has lost to Oklahoma in September. Remember Baker Mayfield put the flag down on the field and pissed off Ohio State fans until he got drafted by the Browns, and then they kissed and made up. Ah, and they lost to Virginia Tech in September. Once a bad Virginia Tech team is still made it into the college football playoff. They won the national championship that year. Point being Ohio State. The big 10 is good enough. Ohio State can afford to lose one game. They get a Mulligan ball off the tee. Oregon doesn't Because the Pac 12 has been weak and nobody takes it seriously. You're sick of getting made fun of You're sick of hosts like me and Pittsburgh. You know, ragging on the big 12 and not even talking about it. It's even worth. It's not getting, you know pants and kicked in the balls. It's apathy, No one's cared and no one's paid attention. So Oregon's got to try to change that today. That's what they've got at stake. They've got schools like USC in Washington. Arizona State, Utah. All of their eyes that they wake up in time because the game starts at nine A.m. East Coast time, which is a whole other topic. They've got the entire conference rooting for them today because they need it badly. All right, Andrew Philip ponies. The Pony Express here on CBS Sports Radio. Where am I? I'm in the Rocket mortgage studios need to know what it takes for home to fit your budget and your family rocket Ken, Uh, I'm lucky I got Anthony Pernod on the board today. We're birds of a feather. We're both self loathing. Mets fans. So it's good when you're working with someone who has the same general disposition and outlook on life where you just assume that bad things are going to happen to you because you picked the wrong team to root for We weren't last night. Yeah, and our black uniforms for the first time, right? I think that's the first time they've won in those black throwbacks. Self Yeah. Alright. Anyways, we've got David Rackley. Derek Rackley coming up next. He is in Columbus. I do believe he has the national radio call of this matchup that we just talked about number 12, Oregon versus Number three Ohio State. He'll handle more of the nuts and bolts of it. The matchups. I live in a state where it's legal to bet on these things these games. So I am going into this thinking I'm going to bet, Oregon And take the 14.5 points. But maybe Derek is going to convince me that Ohio State will blow them out. We'll find out next together. "Still a 14.5 point favorite in Ohio State team that trailed Minnesota at the half last week. But what this is a case of in the oddsmakers don't have They don't have East Coast bias. Most of the oddsmakers are in Vegas are there on the West Coast Anyways, they don't have East Coast bias. They have no bias whatsoever. They follow the money. And what that spread tells you is that America? The sports betting public, the college football betting population out there. Thinks the Pac 12 sucks. So that for me is that compelling storyline today? The story line that sticks out to me more than anything else. Is that there's this alliance right in college football now. Or the big 10 in the S and the and the Pac 12 are holding hands and singing Cooper Kumbaya together. They took a blood oath of the three Musketeers, all for 11 for all But there's nothing binding about it. The big 10 brings in big money. They've got Ohio State. They've got Michigan. They've got Penn State. They've got Wisconsin. They've got Iowa. They've got big brands. The big 10 network makes a ton of money. The has Clemson I know they lost to Georgia. But they've made six straight college football playoffs. They are many. Me they are little Alabama. What does the Pac 12 bring to the table? That's what today is all about for me. You hear SEC fans when they when we get to bowl season when it's New year's day, and you wake up and you're so hung over, you throw up again. You said What? That What was I doing? I six glasses of champagne last night. I'm an idiot. You're all over and you don't recognize the person in bed next to you. Well, then, once you get over that, you turn on the TV, you watch the bowl games, and it's usually the SEC clobbering Big 10 schools and the Gator Bowl and the Outback Bowl and the Citrus Bowl and the fans there. They're not shouting the name of the school. They're shouting the name of the conference s E. C. S E. C. S E. C conference pride the SEC last week. When he combined 12 and two 12 and two and weak, won the Pac 12 went seven and seven. The Pac 12 did score a big win U C L A beat else. You will see how good else you is. We know they're coached and say, Go tigers and a deep, gravelly voice and talk smack on fans. They're not winning a lot of football games since Joe Burrow and Joe Brady left town, though. That was a huge win for the conference. But they also suffered huge losses like Washington, losing to Montana. Montana. For Oregon. It's about trying to get the Pac 12 credibility back. You're a two touchdown underdog. This is back in the day. This would be this would be a Rose Bowl preview. Now it doesn't work that way anymore. With the college football playoff. The Rose Bowl isn't always the big 10 versus the Pac 12. But that's what I grew up with. I grew up with Split national championships were Michigan. Would beat Ryan leaves Washington State team in the Rose Bowl and then because it was Tom Osborne's final year, the voters would get together and they'd move Nebraska up in the coach's poll, and then they split the national championship. They wouldn't play one vs two. But now they play one vs four and two versus three and then they meet the national championship game. The Pac 12 has not been a part of that since 2000 and 16. Washington is the last team that went to the college football playoff from the Pac 12 and they scored. We can count it now because it's not a big number. How many points did Washington scored the playoffs that year? One 23 45 67 Seven points. Got blown out by Alabama the year before that, Oregon Beat Jamis Winston in Florida State, the defending national champions in the Rose Bowl and then lost to Ohio State in the national championship. So here we go again. It's a rematch of that game. No more Cardale Jones. He never played school and Marcus Mario. It is blood backing up Derek Carr in Vegas. This is a new look Ohio State team with seven new defensive starters and a quarterback that showed some Jekyll and Hyde traits in the game against Minnesota that was on the road. It was not your typical Ohio State opens up with a cream puff cupcake Bakery. Uh, delivered team was no bowling green. It wasn't ball state. It was Minnesota on the road. And the kid looked green and a dear and headlights in the first half and CJ Stroud, the quarterback, made some plays in the second half. But he is still an unknown. You can have five stars next to your name. We see a lot of kids that are five star recruits who never pan out. Guys like Tate Martel. What is he on? Like his seventh school, He's played quarterback and wide receiver. Hey, If CJ Straw doesn't work up, there's another one and another one and another one on the bench. They've got a great quarterback depth chart. They always do. That's why Joe Burrow transferred to L s U. But you don't want to have to be forced into a decision like that, like it's an old vaudeville act, where Ryan Day has the hooked Kane on the sideline, and he's got a Yank CJ straight out of this game. Oregon, I think is a live dog in this game and can bring back pack 12 credibility. It depends if the best player in college football gets out there today. Cavon Piveteau. No relation to the Knicks coach. I don't think He is a freak. He's like a Julius Peppers type. He's like a Khalil Mack Myles Garrett type. Oregon When they had chip Kelly and they were going to national championships. They were trying to hang 70 points on you. This Oregon team they're trying to win games. 21 to 16. So totally. They still got the funky uniforms, but they play it differently. They play old. Honestly, it's so cool. It's so crazy. Ohio State wants to play like Oregon used to play in Oregon plays like an old fashioned big 10 team. That's the contrast in styles. There is a ton on the line for Oregon and an entire conference. The world The Pac 12 world is on Oregon shoulders. They got to feel the Atlas. Uh, strained.

Joe Burrow Cardale Jones Joe Brady Tate Martel Derek Carr Cavon Piveteau Ryan Day Tom Osborne Knicks Marcus Mario 14.5 point CJ Stroud Vegas Penn State 70 points CJ Straw Ryan Jekyll Khalil Mack Myles Garrett Hyde

"We're back on Monday after a week one and the Bears. That's right. The bear's face. The Rams will tell you how Matthew Stafford looks after his L a debut. And if we got a first look at Justin Fields, Keyshawn J. Will, um Max Monday morning on ESPN radio. So good to have you with us. Week to college football Saturday, week one in the NFL schedule. Darien, Mel, ESPN radio. All right. We got into the two ranked ranked games that will get today. Noon eastern Oregon, Ohio State Buckeyes 14.5 Point favorite, 4 30, eastern Iowa at Iowa State. Iowa State of 4.5 Point favorite there. I think, Mehlman before we dive into the NFL's week, one games There are three interesting college football games with a ranked team on the road. 15th ranked Texas seven point favorite tonight on ESPN, seven Eastern At Arkansas. Holy war, BYU at home against 21st ranked Utah and that that's an anything goes rivalry. We know that 10 15 tonight. ESPN so good football watching games tonight late. And it's 17 point favorite, and it's a big number. Is fifth ranked Texas A and M as they go to Denver, where they will face Colorado. A and M Texas, Utah, any of them in danger on this Saturday mail? Well, I look at Arkansas Dori. I like the football team Sam Pittman in the way they play. They play terribly last week exactly, but they play hard. They do play hard and they do have athletes. I mean, trailing Burkes, a wide receiver did not have a good game last week, Okay? He was not at his best. Now they had to come back against Rice. He had a couple of drops the ball with K. J. Jefferson. Sometimes it's off target. Sometimes it's coming at 100 Miles an hour. Are these just got to take a little touch on the throat. Take a little off. And be a little more accurate, but he's certainly a threat Last week was 57% Ari. It's got to be better than that. And they got to be more disciplined in terms of the penalties when they rack up 117 yards penalty yards last week, So I think that may have been a little look ahead there. You know you're playing rice. Your Yeah, You pulled away in the second half find great. Now you have Texas and I think for for Arkansas play a cleaner game, and I think that comes from are going to have enough in the passing game. And Berks is a great player, and he's got to be better than the quarterbacks going to be better getting the ball I think you got after the quarterback last Week, so they were able to do that. So I think when you look at at what Arkansas has he got to play better. They did not play a great game last week. No question about it all right, but they have some athletes at some key spots that could could cause problems of note. By the way in that game bumper pool. Arkansas linebacker will not be available in the first half against Texas because of a second half targeting Last week. Targeting flags were flying all over the place last week. Melon that game alone to Arkansas linebackers got tossed in that game, Grant Morgan in the first half for targeting, So we had to miss the rest of that game and then bumper pool in the second half got hit with it, so he will miss the first half. Against Texas again will say this story broke for Hudson card first started completed about 66% of his passes. Yeah, 110.7 yards. An attempt hand the ball to be John and go John John Robinson, You know, average five to a carry great player, uh, and also at 73 receiving yards in that game for catches against Louisiana Lafayette, But I think when you look at Jalen Catalog number one who is in all over the field Dynamic football player. I'm going to probably have him my top 25 big board when it comes out the updated version and a couple of weeks story. He's a special player. He's got a bright NFL future. He's so good, and that's got if your young quarterback always keep an eye and I always worry about those DBS like a catalogue. If I'm Texas identify where he is, he's going to move around. He's going to bake make it tough to really figure out where he's going to be. This kid is a special player on the defensive side of the ball for Arkansas. Remember these two programs? Texas and Arkansas or Southwest Conference rivals. For decades, big time rivals played some classic games, and in a few years there will be Southeastern Conference rivals. But tonight a non conference game as Texas visits Arkansas seven Eastern ESPN again Longhorns, a seven point favorite. Also Washington at Michigan. Interesting game Pac 12 Big 10. Washington. Here's where Yeah, There's always a conversation about Jim Harbaugh here. Right now. The conversation is Oh boy. Because Washington lost at home to Montana last week. You have nothing to gain by beating Washington. But everything to lose. Should Washington meet you because you would have lost to the team that just lost at home against Montana. I mean, there's so many storylines involved every single week with Michigan, but that's just another one. We know Washington is a better football team than one we saw. At least we think it is. That game has the Wolverines at a 6.5 point favorite there? I think another game that's interesting. Mel, Real quick. Miami They got thumped by Bama. Appalachian State Now goes into Miami. Eight point underdogs, but a very dangerous underdog. I think APP state handled EC you last week pretty handily. ESPN U seven Eastern, the place to watch APP State and Miami..

"Watching that game. Iowa Defensively is good. But Indiana shot itself in the foot. So many times there was no way they couldn't get out of their own way in that game, So I don't I don't wanna overhype Iowa here, and I think that's why Iowa State even though they struggled to get by northern Iowa is still a 4.5 point favorite. Yeah, Iowa States had trouble against Iowa or I would have lost five straight. They've had turnovers galore, fumbling punts. The mishandling points doing all kinds of things obviously prevent them from being able to win those football games. I'm with you and Iowa State. I would be surprised if Iowa State didn't win this football game there at home. Vesely College game days there. 4 30 kickoff They obviously surviving last week against Northern Iowa was a good thing that's always going to, you know, going to be a tough game going in. I was not impressed with I was offense. Spencer Petrus around 50% completion percentage last week. Tyler Goodson's a heck of a running back. We know that, but the receiving entities aren't great. Sam Laporta is a tight end that we know they always have a T. J. Hawkinson. Now they have Sam Laporta, who is really good player, But Petraeus has to be better. I think Mike Rosa linebacker Um Iowa State all over the field. It seems like there are guys that Iowa State dark We were talking about Brock Purdy. Charlie Color by the way, too. Tight end didn't play last week. He's back this week from that ankle injury guys like that. And and Mike Rose. We're talking about mirror the guys that we feel like I've been in college forever. Sounds like these guys have been at Iowa say forever, and I think that's going to help them today. In this football game. I do. And in fact, like Iowa State, and I'm you know, I'm Kirk Ferentz. Parents Guy Kirk parents When the greatest coaches college football we've seen the 23rd year at Iowa Big Fan of his No. The family and bottom line is I think that I was state right now is this is It sets up for the Cyclones to get this victory today agree. 4.5 point favorite. I would take them all day long. Um This, You know, it's it's a big 10 against the big 12. This game, I think is going to look nothing like a big 12 games. This has got a big 10 field. Two really good defenses. Iowa, like you said, does not really have the playmakers on offense. They're going to have to get stops. They're going to have to run the ball with goods and they're going to have to put pressure on the Iowa State defense, which happens to be very, very good against the run, so they're going to take away. What Iowa really does fairly well offensively. And then yes. Just The experience that is on the field for Iowa State. Uh, is extensive. When you look at party and you look at Greece Hall and you mentioned Kohler, the Norman Oklahoma native, the tight end. Uh, There. It's going to be physical. It's going to be ugly at times, but, yeah, I think you and I are on the same page. There was just a couple of Iowa State, say 4.5 Point favorite. Caesar's Ohio State's a 14.5 point favorite. So both teams both chalk, but you always have upsets in college football. I do not expect an upset and either one of those two games, all right, there are, though Mehlman other games we need to get into it. Also slide into week one of the NFL as well. But when you look at college football 123. I'm looking at three ranked teams. That could have Could have tricky road games. And they're interesting matchups. One is a annual rivalry. The other two Yeah, we'll get into these. Okay, like could somebody here slip up away from home? We go there, and in the week one and the National Football League one game in the books. It was a thriller in Tampa. We saw that What's in store for a Sunday? And does anybody have Any ability to play for the Ravens on Monday. We'll get there to ESPN Radio Dorian Milk. Good to have you with us. On a Saturday morning, ESPN radio ESPN F. Whether on your radio on your phone. Or your smart speaker now playing ESPN Really don't like when coaches can't figure it out,.

"All right, Marshal. Thank you. It is 76 right now. Thanks for listening. It is the Mark Blazer show along with Josh Cease the Governor Demetrius Stanley, and, uh, So let's see coming up. DeWine is this too little too late and saying Biden made a mistake. We will get to that coming up at 3 50. Also. Yeah. Biden, his office rocker. There's no question about that. So tomorrow it's the Buckeyes. And Oregon. So the Ducks come to town. It's the first home game second game of the season for the Buckeyes and officially haven't really been able to talk to you. Well know, we did talk to you about CJ Stroud and his performance because you were in last Friday. We had a Thursday game, but for tomorrow, Do you see anything that we should probably be looking for? As far as the because I think we're ready to roll. I feel like we're ready. The thing that I will I want to see because the way the game of football is played, there's a certain way that is regularly. That's the way you play the game. And what we didn't find out against Minnesota was. Can we take the ball? Hand the ball off driving down the field? Sustained some drives take up some, you know, clock and score some touchdowns. We didn't do that We've made on. They were all good plays, right? Yeah. And you know that looks good. But for you and preparing for the next game, especially it's going to be a bigger game. You know that, you know, that's not realistic. So and then Oregon. I think Oregon is going to be smaller. They always go smaller but yet faster. Um, and so I think probably they will be in the game for the first quarter. Probably play around second quarter and then we'll start to wear on them after about the third take me through. What it feels like to be standing in the tunnel. And it's the first home game now, think about it. These guys didn't going in in front of any big crowds last year, right? So we got extra anxiety. I think kind of piled on here and it man. It's back. College football's back. It's the horseshoe. It's packed and you're coming out. I mean, take me through what these guys are feeling. Well, the thing that people don't realize like everything around you's energy that you know when you're standing next to someone. That's not space that's actually energy between you. And when you're in a stadium that's enclosed with 100,000 people, The energy that's in the air. Make sure your hair stand stand up, you know, and it gives you goose bumps and you're a little bit nervous. But then once you get that first hit out the way every all that goes out the window, But it's the it's the ability to literally feel the energy of 100,000 people in a stadium and the noise. It's it's something that A person unless you've ever experienced that you just don't know what it's like You like it tomorrow, Josh. You like us to? I know it's a 14.5. I think we're still at 14.5 was the last I checked. 14.5 Point favorite. I mean, you you like the Buckeyes to win. You don't think though they're going to cover do you? I don't I I I don't know. Like I just that defense gives me so much pause for concern Right now it's we can score with anybody in the country. That doesn't bother me. Oregon's defense does not whatever Not to mention We got two receivers that are world class. We've got to to bet we got the best one to receiving combo in all the all of college football. Yeah. I just think that defense leaves something to be desired and I just wouldn't be surprised if we end up with another. Like, you know, Uh, you have 49 37 kind of game is all that's all the over under 63 a half C like the over. I like the over big time in this game. Well, yeah, you've got the beautiful weather should be great story. Perfect weather. Yeah. Yeah, so there should be a pretty good scoring conditions. Tomorrow in the horseshoe for the Buckeyes. We have your by the way your best Buckeye coverage. Of course on great on Game day. We got pregame lined up for you. It will start at nine. In the morning. As you're heading to the stadium. You're getting game day snacks. Whatever. It's all powered by Bryant, heating and cooling in its home of the best Buckeye coverage again, we'll start it at nine a.m. tomorrow..

"Much, 79. Right now. Thank you for listening. It is the Mark Blazer show along with Josh cease And he does produce the Brandon Boxer show in the morning. And his name is Mike Campana. You might know Miss campy and a campy welcome in how you doing, brother? What's up, fellas? I'm good. I try to produce. It doesn't always work out that well, but I do my back. Right? So my question is with you Joining us today Does box Does he know you're cheating on him? I told him that I had an appointment somewhere. And so for me, I just said I had to be. I had to go out, man. I hope he is not listening because he's I hear he's pretty jealous. So I'm hoping I make a yellow that I'm like, you know that, But I'll give you some flowers or something. I'll be right. He loves flowers. From what I understand. Hey, Um, so you know, I was just talking about right before we go in to the break with Marshall. That 45 Million Americans will bet you know, on the NFL this year Now they're talking about the NFL in this article. But, you know, I hearkened back to last week and we had our We had our oddsmaker guy. His name is Adam Burns. He's with sports betting dot gs, a longtime friend of the show, and he comes on, and he talks about how it was a 13.5 point Buck I favor last week. And then the over under my point being with regard to the betting and what goes on, it's uncanny, the way they get this so close, um, that you know that ends up being the difference. Obviously, 14 points but ends up being the difference in the Buckeye game. And when you start thinking about what these guys do for a living, and how they come up with that, I'm always I am completely stunned. And how they do this now for this week, um, the home game first home game, of course for the Buckeyes in the shoe. Oregon coming in Buckeyes are 14.5 point favorite this week. It is a 63.5 over under coming into this week, and it'll be interesting to see how close they get again. But when you think about this early in the season that they're getting this close to this kind of stuff, it's It's absolutely crazy. Josh did not have them covering last week denied I did have them covering. I don't know. If you guys have those conversations can be in the morning, you and boxer or whatever. But I'm interested to see your take on do the Buckeyes. First of all, Did you have them covering last week in your mind? And you? Maybe you didn't have the discussion on air. But did you have them covering? No, I thought 14 was good. I just didn't think it was going to be. I didn't think that they Would be down at half. To be completely honest with you. There was some. You know, Some mistakes made some young kids, but if you can have your feet thrown in the fire, you might as well do it. In the middle of nowhere in the rain on a in a conference game away from home and have all these kids, you know, face. Hostile crowd. So but yeah, I had him. I had to buy to touch so I thought they would cover alright. So f ed halftime. If you would have had $1000 bet on it at halftime for the Buckeyes to cover Given your statement, would you have if I gave you the chance to get out of it? Would you have said okay, Cool. Yeah. No, I'll take my 1000 bucks back and I'll kindly pick up where I left off next week. Well, I'm a That's a tough question. I'm a diehard Buckeyes saying no, Mark, I would have I stuck it out. Okay, fine. That's good. Yeah, it would have been like a dollar not 1000. Right? Take your money. Take your money for them not to cover this week. They're not covering this week. Not with that. Not with the way I see the defense that the the front the defensive front, That's that's that's a great defensive line. There's a lot of pressure you can generate. Man, but we're still not that secondary still and I understand we're missing two starters. I watched Oregon play. No, they didn't blow me away. But there's still enough firepower there. Um, the only difference. The only difference is is if they do if, if Thibodeau plays if their best player and best defensive player in the country plays Yeah, That's that. That could be the difference, but he will be slowed down by an ankle. Either way, So I just think the way this is setting up. I think 14 on the nut is about where we're going to go with the Buckeye victory. So I think they know what they're doing with that 140.5 right there. Okay, Your thoughts can be. It can be pretty close, though, but I mean, without If they got to have to be, though I think it's true Math is there outside linebackers? Definitely out there missing. One question. What's definitely out? I think Ohio State has to run the football, though. Keep it out of organs hands. That's less touches. That offense has to be honest. And if you put a front for like we have at Ohio State. I'm not sure extreme, much like that. So it's a close call Josh, but it could go either way, But I'll go over. I think they can win by 17. Okay. Okay. All right. I'll go. I'll go under on this one. But I like 14 on the nut. Right. So CJ Stroud for me last week, even though it was one game It was 60 minutes. I think there was some for me. There was some questions answered. When the guy throws an interception. That clearly was a horrible pass. It would be it was thrown behind. It was a bad pass. You can tell. I mean, it was a It was a great interception the way that he bounced back Now I get it. Um, a lot of are a lot of those big plays were when the camera you know, he'd rare back and go camera would switch to the receiver and I'm like, Where's the defender? They're not even in the shot. You know, I get it that they were wide open on some of those, but I think we learned a lot about him. I think He's going to, really We're going to see a whole different quarterback this week. I think he's even going to settle down even a lot more. But that's my own Take. I don't know Josh your thoughts there with C. J I, Unless in I was at a sports bar with some buddies. And there was a jackass that was ready to bench him through the second quarter of the game. Oh, hi, Jake. He's pounding the bar bench. This guy sucks food that was all needed. That was all the rest of the that was all over. Social media man. Can't be. I don't know if you saw that. I mean, everywhere you would be scrolling through. People are like, I don't know what this guy is supposed to be A five star recruit like people are going crazy all over Social media. And so, yeah, we're hearing all the side the the bar coaching if you will, but your thoughts can't be. Yeah. You guys want to talk about Monday morning quarterbacks. These guys are way way back in their own little lounge. I saw stuff that said Droughts, not the quarterback. I thought he was. It was like what the guy just mean Only cow man. The guy was playing in a downpour, and it is a factor so you want I know they have the gloves. They have all that stuff. You're talking about a kid who had thrown a ball before it's his first time out. He's playing again away from home. This week. Good weather. He got his feet under in the second half..

"It has been a rough day for the Dow down 530 points and has dank is down. 25 points hasn't P 500 is down? 43 points I'm Jordan burnt field on Chicago's very own. 7 20, WGN. It's Tech Tuesday and his time with these products awesome of our tech problems make our lives easier. Let's understand what's going on with their phones on that stuff like that, and devices Professor Jim Carrey. Janice is joining us. He's with the Rye and has joined us before on Tech Tuesday. How you doing today, Jim? Great and I'm pleasure to be with you again. I'm happy you could make time for us again, You know, Listen, you've got a couple of updates here that we need to know about four phones, whether your apple or android, and you want to talk about the updates on those because some of them involve some things that we may not quite understand, include a anti tracking features for your apple phone. I did, But I got to ask you about all the hacks that are in the news right now. And you think about corporations getting targeted and we're hearing more and more about these kinds of things. The FBI is warning expect to hear even more. And I wonder what you make of it. You look at these things closely. Um it is part of what we face is we go more into a cloud based, interconnected environment where systems are able to be attacked into throughout the world through the Internet. You have a lot of Cyber criminals even organized crying in the sense that uses Thies avenues in order to, uh to profit from it could be nation states. Attacking other states. But the increased availability of Internet access eyes making these events more and more real. And if we think about it, much of Robbie used every day as individuals. Or as communities eyes based on some type of Internet transfer of information or interconnection of information. And so all these systems have become highly vulnerable to these attacks on from various nefarious individuals. For us it personally, though individually, do you have any kind of reminders? Because we all are connected to the Internet in our daily lives. Anything you want to just remind us here, Jim. Yeah. Number one back up. Back up. Back up. Always keep backups of your information. And preferably not interconnected. Um, uh to your actual system that you're using. So maybe a thumb drive or something that you probably your files on, put him off to the side in case something is compromised and then be very sensitive about your security have No good securities package on your computer and your devices, mobile devices as well. A lot of times we forget. Our mobile devices are very sophisticated. Many computers. And, um, be very careful about dedication and making sure that you strong passwords and where possible used to step Or multi factor authentication where you go through a syriza of authenticating steps on band we're starting to see more and more of this become commonplace. For organizations where you even the user name and password are separated at different stages, or we'll get a I'll tell you that it's going to text your phone, or you can use a two factor authentication program that it will contact that device and ask you to authenticate. On access to the system. So you know, employing these different security techniques can help to protect, uh, us against these type of attacks personally, and then just being prepared and be aware that our infrastructure is dependent on these things so it could be hiccups and blitz along the way. For more than just natural disasters and other things that affect our day to day technology interactions. Yeah. So you said to factor authentication, attentive fication that they're actually APS that you can use to try to set that up for yourself. Is that right? You can use APS that sort of create that, if various instances when it doesn't exist. Yeah, the well that the supplier does have Tonto give you the ability to connect with one of these acts with Microsoft and Google and Norton all off for these acts and for companies that allow you to use that app. It adds an extra layer of authentication, uh to to it so that you can deploy to stage authentication. If the company isn't going to do it, you know, doesn't want to make the investment then solve that gives you the opportunity. They allow you to use that. That is not. It is an additional authentication protection. Most financial institutions and other major areas that affect our lives are using it through. We seem like our credit card companies and everything. Every time you get out of new machines asked, you would tend to attacks. To your phone, and then you have to press a code in. Um but for smaller companies of these two factor authentication APS allow you to have that, um, increased security even for them, And we need to remember that. Uh, when were Dino dealing on the Internet and interacting? Uh, any portal that allows someone to get through? You are machine um is opens them up to everything else on the machine s o. We want to try to make here We're doing good security practices, regardless of What type of sites were interacting with? Not just sensitive sites like financial institutions? Yeah, no, I hear you on that You've talked about that quite a bit in the past the new updates for both Apple and android. You said there are some things we need to know Jim, the Apple update. I know it's got I've got a lot more pop ups coming up that asked me, you know questions about Do you want them to track me? Do you want to be able to track you? This side is asking to do this. The site is asking do that. Are you okay with it? That's the one thing I've noticed is a user. What should we know? Um, yeah, The last time we met, we talked about that it was coming out. Um, in a couple of weeks later, it did Roll out that anti tracking feature helps to again maintain your privacy and keep APS from reporting your personal information or what you do where you go. And so 14.5 allows you to do that. Um, However, if you have upgraded to 14.5, you should soon as possible upgrade 14.5 point one, apparently their world from some bugs and 14.5, as well as a few security holes. And so Apple issued a subsequent release right afterwards to plug those holes and correct some of the bugs. So my make sure that you've gone up to 14.5 point one on your IOS device. Okay, So look for the updates and make sure you do that because it always tells you if there's an update Yeah. Yeah, you can just have, um, you can always goes track also, Uh, sometimes you know, we are phones become cluttered with lots of icons. And we don't always see the general icon which has the little, um, reminder on it that we might have an update there. We're going to the general icon and look for software. Updates. In there. We can always check to make sure our phone is up to date. And that's true for whether you you're doing on IOS phone or an android phone. It's always good to periodically just, you know, do a quick check to make sure you're up to date because sometimes there might be enough data out there that for whatever reason, maybe you were using your phone a lot, and it hasn't installed it yet. Maybe it hasn't downloaded gap because you've been on cellular networks, not on your home network. It's always a good idea to go and check and make sure that you've gotten all the possible updates.
