UK inflation jumps to 10.4%, surprising analysts

"Britain's inflation rate has risen for the first time in four months in February, as high food and energy prices hit consumers battered by the nation's cost of living crisis. The Office for national statistics says that the consumer price index jumped to 10.4% in the 12 months from February from 10.1% the previous month. The figures surprising analysts who had forecast inflation would slow to 9.9%. The data is increasing pressure on the Bank of England to approve an 11th consecutive interest rate increase when it meets on Thursday, regardless of concerns about the economic impact of strains on the global banking system. The office says high energy prices have continued to squeeze household budgets. Charles De Ledesma, London

"So this isn't going to be a good one, but this will be a blanket statement. If I were to reach out and say, hey, Judith, I see one to SUNY brockport as well, congrats on ten years of business ownership. Looks like you made a big time. Which connection request is going to get a yes. The hey, I'd like to add you to my network or the hey, I see you went to SUNY brockport as well. Congrats on making it big time. What I get fascinated with is those that cold message you and you've got responded probably because you're working. And then it's been maybe three hours or something like that or even as long as the day and then they start hitting you with why aren't you answering and it's like, I don't even know who you are, didn't even see it until, you know, my email lit up with 15 why, you know, answering. And it's like, if you're going to start a relationship like that, what makes you think someone's going to convert? When you're so aggressive, and I'm a firm believer that you set terms and they're undefined. You set terms, the moment you meet someone, the moment you start to chat and negotiate, you're setting terms for what the relationship's going to look like. And if you're starting relationships, especially business relate, any kind of relationship in this cold message, no personality, artificial intelligence kind of, that's not a way to start a relationship. And I ask myself if that's how they message me the first time, what's it going to be like to work with them in the long run and I immediately am not interested in connecting with that person because it puts a bad taste in my mouth. Call me crazy, but I think that the way you introduce yourself is a reflection on how you do business and if you're introducing yourself in such a poor way, what's it going to be like to work with you? Yeah, I remember somebody's cold messaging me. And it was a fantastic message. And I was instantly interested. So I reached back. Because I was like, yeah, I'm interested in talking to you. And the response I got back was, I'm just increasing my network. I don't want to talk to you. I don't want to talk to you. I'm increasing my network.

"That makes sense. So it is about that sort of win win. And especially if you're highlighting someone, I suppose the fact that you've got local people to begin with meant that they were pretty proud to be able to tell their friends and because you've got, I suppose you get that word of mouth a lot quicker because it's a much smaller community than if it just floundering on the net on it. Yeah, there's no correlation between quality of and I say this in the most loving way possible. I want to put an asterisk here. This is not broad strokes. I mean this with love. There's no correlation between the quality of the episode and how well it did in terms of listens and promotion. The episodes that did the best were the episodes where the person I interviewed went the extra mile to promote it and a lot of times they weren't the most well spoken, they didn't have the largest business, but they had a lot of friends and family and community members that supported them. So when they shared it, it went like crazy, popularity from an episode that you wouldn't expect and then you'd have a big name guess that's possibly one of my guests. He's won four Grammys. You'll have a Grammy Award winning Gaston and it won't be as popular, so there was no correlation between the guests and the really it was just the local audience had friends and family that were local and were excited to share with each other. It was a very, I'm stumbling on my words 'cause I haven't thought about this, but it was very interesting. The way that even if an interview went poorly, sometimes it would be really popular because the community would jump on board. If that makes sense. Yeah, I see that all the time

"And then what I would do is I would ask each guest to nominate anyone in their network that they thought would be a good fit for the show. So Judith, you'd come on. We chat, then I'd be like, you were incredible, et cetera, et cetera. If anyone you recommend, you think would be a good fit for the show. I'd love for you to nominate them. And I literally I'll treat them like gold. So then great people would introduce me to other great people. The podcast was a networking tool that also allowed me to give people a business like experience and then obviously from a Google search or looking at my LinkedIn, someone could see that I had a marketing firm, they could see my products and services, I'd have them on my email list, we'd stay in touch, so the podcast wasn't, hey, let's come on, let's come on the show and then I'll pitch you. That was never the case. It was building a relationship. But with class and care that these relationships lasted beyond the podcast and most of my clients aren't podcast guests, but their friends and neighbors of my podcast guests. So my guest would start referring me business over time because whether or not I was a good fit to help them, they understood a little bit more about me and the short answer because I told you a big long winded story the short answer is I just started to get a lot of referrals. And I started to get a lot of people that really were willing to take a shot with me. And I built my business organically through word of mouth, but it all started with the podcast. Brilliant. Thank you. Do you think that because you started off locally, it helps the business in a way that might not have happened if you had opened it up to everybody. A 100%, really, really simply put people are passionate about their community. A lot of people, most people are willing to work with a vendor that is in local, but they prefer to work with a vendor that's local if they can. And a lot of my guests and the people I was meeting and featuring. They hadn't been on podcasts. They're not, they're not brene brown or Tony Robbins or Oprah or the next big sensation, they're just ordinary people, you know, leaders making a living, taking care of their family, working their way up the ladder, building their businesses,

"Yeah, we can kind of break down any part you want, but I was just doing everything all at once because I was manic and scared because of a virus and I was bored and I wanted to make a difference and I guess it all worked out. Thank you. So what I'm curious about is how you translated the podcast into work. So I know that you talk about how you can leverage a podcast to enhance your influence and I'm all about in hearts and influence some dead keen to see how you would do that. So how does somebody make that shift from account will be a podcaster to actually my podcast is going to get me clients? 100%. It comes in handy that I have a marketing firm. Because podcasting is in a sense a form of content marketing, thought leadership, marketing, so if you were to get really microscopic, the way I did outreach was very kind, very formal, very edifying, I was honoring their time and I wanted to over deliver and everything I did, so then they'd come on. Run the interview. I'd always over prepare. I'd edit as good as I can. We created custom graphics, cartoons for every single guest, published it on the website, very you do all these things yourself, but I'm breaking it down for anyone who doesn't have a show. There's a lot of tiny little things from asking someone to come on to the calendar invite to the post social media postings to the thank yous, to sending them a text the morning of. There is a lot of little things I was doing to make it as good of as an experience as possible with every single guest and during this time, it's not like you're pitching products and services, but what you're doing is you're

"You know, what? That's so clever, having that thought of going, you know what? I'm just going to do my town because it's going to force me to go out and meet people and people are all like virtually meet though. One's stuck at home, worried about going out and stuff. So everybody's kind of really focused. And I suppose what probably made you stand out the most. Is that, especially in those early months, people, a lot of people who weren't mavericks were running around not knowing what to do. And it was the maverick leaders that are out in the back going, right? Okay, this is what's going on. This is what we're doing. And planning a moving made such a huge difference. I remember talking to people saying, oh, well, no one's buying anything right now, so I'm just going to get my message right. I'm going to get that because in so, so many months are going to be like right, let's hit and they want to see someone who's got history of doing stuff. So I was everyone's running around. It's like focusing on getting things ready for when people are buying, which is what you were doing. Really? This is really good. So then you change, did you change your podcast now? So you've dropped the Rochester bit and now it's just real business connections. Yeah, so I have an undiagnosed case of ADHD. I believe, because there's currently 5 different segments where Rochester business connections is still a slice of the pie. But I've rebranded the podcast. I had done over probably about 65 or 70 of just Rochester before I started to rebrand. I rebranded the podcast from Rochester business connections to real business connections, same exact acronym just had to change a few letters. And I launched a few different segments. I can go through them if you want, but I don't want to bore you with all 5, but now Rochester business connections is a sliver of the pie of the real business connections network, which I speak to people internationally, nationally. We do short form, long form, and I still do local, but as I built a local influence and a little bit of local notoriety, that gave me legs to stand on, clients, income, momentum, to then branch off to a larger audience. The first person that you need to help is always the person right in front of you. And I started with the people right around me in Rochester, but that gave me the confidence and momentum to amplify my vision and go out, rebrand and try to reach more people.

"We all know that the world was in just a very dark, confusing place. And once I got out of that rut in August, I actually launched my first ever businesses and entrepreneur and never imagined I'd be a business owner. Never had an Elon Musk or Jeff Bezos on my wall. I just didn't have a job and I knew that I loved marketing, loved podcasting and wanted to start to try to build something for myself and just over a year, I actually was able to completely replace my sales executive income as an entrepreneur and I don't make a statement like that to impress or to brag. It's really just to press upon the point that anyone can do it, even if they're coming from a dark spot, struggling, first ever entrepreneurial endeavor. And what we can talk about a little bit more is what I actually did, but I want to preface again that it's not like I stabbed my finger and then went from zero to hero, but it's those little baby steps and those learnings and those actionable takeaways and those small wins along the way that really allow you to achieve amazing things. Well, I'm so pleased you're on here to share that because it must have been quite I mean it was scary in the UK but it was more I think it was more scary looking across the pond and seeing the huge job losses and you know over there it just seemed just so much more overwhelming so the fact that you've got through that and you're prepared to share how is an amazing thing. What did you do then? How did you get to get your income back and improve it? So the very first thing I did so we're gonna go to step like zero here for the first thing I did is revamped my LinkedIn profile because my entire life and I was working in corporate most of my life. I didn't use LinkedIn for social media or networking or content or any of the things that I use it for today. When a 2020 happening COVID hit, I went on LinkedIn because I always knew it to be a good job board and I wanted to revamp my profile and start looking for jobs. So I set up a LinkedIn and I had been listening to podcasts. I had been learning. I had hosted a music podcast from 2016 until 2020 in 2020 after a short hiatus I actually re brought the podcast back because of COVID, I'm really simply put musicians, couldn't play live, there was no touring, there was no events. There was no in person music, so I wanted to live stream and kind of create a music podcast with live music. So we could still kind of broadcast that creativity out to the world. And I was doing all these things not with a north star or a specific end in sight. I just knew that the podcast was something I loved. LinkedIn was something that I probably needed to get a job, and one day I just kind of had that aha moment that I have a marketing background. No one's hiring me right now.

Brave Surfer Bethany Hamilton Won't Compete Against Transgender Women

"I wanted to talk about this young woman who's a surfer. I think we got a clip on this. But it says, U.S. U.S. female surfer icon slams world surf, league for allowing trans identified biological men to compete against women, so let me see Bethany Hamilton, I want you to hear what she had to say because I think it was excellent and finally they standing up for this against this bull crap. Wrote a clip. Today I want to address the news that the world surf league has officially made the rule that male bodied individuals known as transgender athletes can officially compete in the women's division. The world surf league says they are following the Olympic guidelines. While I address this issue, I want to be clear that I strive to have love for all of mankind, regardless of any differences. But this concerns me as a professional athlete that has been competing in the world surf league events for the past 15 plus years. And I feel that it must speak up and stand up for those in position that may feel that they can not say something about this. I think many of the girls currently on tour are not in support with this new rule and they fear being ostracized if they speak up. So here I go. Questions I have that I want to consider with you. How is this rule playing out in other sports? Like swimming, running MMA. Have any of the current surfers in the world surf league been asked what their thoughts and opinions are on this new rule before it was passed or announced? Should there be a conversation with the 17 woman and all of the men on tour prior to a rule change such as this? Is a hormone level and honest and accurate depiction that someone indeed is a meal or female. Is it as simple as this? Who is pushing for this huge change? Does this better the sport of surfing? Is this better for the woman in surfing? If so, how? How did whoever decided these hormone rules come to the conclusion that 12 months of testing testosterone make it a fair and legal switch? Why is the WSL's statement about trans women competing with women and yet there's no mention of converted women competing with men? I personally think that the best solution would be to create a different division so that all can have a fair opportunity to showcase showcase their passion and talent. And I think it's really hard to imagine the future of women's what the future of women's surfing will be like in 15 to 20 years down the road. If we move forward. Great question. I think she had a lot of questions. Thank you, young lady. I feel bad for a car can see how nervous she is. I mean, I feel like I want to have a stroke listening to her talk about it because I know she's nervous and this is probably like the biggest decision in her life. Not competing, but coming out with common sense.

Meta Announces That Donald Trump Is 'Allowed' Back on Facebook

"Turning back to the news of the day and Donald Trump on Facebook. It'll be interesting to see how quickly he gets out there on Facebook. You know, he's got some legal agreements with true social that require him to post their first. But what I'm most fascinated by is the timing of all this, and how bad things must really be over there at Facebook that they're like, okay, okay, now it's time now it's time. We're going to get Donald Trump back because that actually made it sort of exciting. Don't forget, they tried really hard to try and tweak the algorithms to try and really get politics out of the picture, but then they found that there wasn't as much engagement, and so they're kind of struggling. They're really struggling. They're stocks down around 50% just in the last 12 months alone, and they've announced layoffs. And they're not seeing the kind of engagement that they had seen in prior days. Meanwhile, you know, they get the threat of the DoJ, Department of Justice out there. Which just went after Google, of course, wanting to break Google up. It's online advertising business. And so I think that may be weighing on Facebook as well. A lot of different things going on, but hey, hey, they want a party to happen. We've got another election coming up. They're thinking, how do we make money? And one of the best ways for Facebook to make money is to have more engagement and more engagement means having all the people that love and all the people that hate Trump on there. Therefore they need Trump. Therefore, you know, if I were Trump, I'd try and do a deal where they paid me to be on Facebook. He ought to be the one that's gotten a big payday out of this because they're just trying to somehow keep the company going

Devin Nunes and Sebastian Discuss the #BidenFiles

"Remember, at Mar-a-Lago, going back tomorrow Lago, Secret Service were there. The replaces that were approved to keep those types of documents. My guess is, is that that area had to have been cleared at some point for that type of activity to occur. And of course, the president Trump has said, and I think rightfully so, look, I had declassified all that stuff. Now, Biden hasn't said that. Biden said that it was locked in his garage by his Corvette. Now it's quite impossible that a garage could be a skiff. It's also impossible to pin Biden's center is also not a skiff. So there's a whole bunch of questions. So let's just start there. I think that's good for everybody to understand how the process works. And how you have to handle documents. So the other question we now have is, where do those documents come from? Were they taken out of The White House when Biden was vice president or were they checked out later, for example, from the archives possibly? We just don't know the answer to those questions, but because the pen center, for example, what I understand didn't open up until 2018. There's a 12 at least a minimum. You're going straight to the points I've listed here. I wanted to ask you, there is at least a 12 month interregnum between Biden as vice president leaving The White House and the Penn center even being established. So where were the documents, Devin? It was exactly. And who took the documents? How did they leave wherever they left from, were they in a locked pouch? But I could tell you for sure the pen center was not a was not a skiff.

"In consumer prices, moderated again last month. Inflation eased a 6.5% in December compared with 12 months ago, it was the 6th straight year over year slowdown. The softer readings add to growing signs that the worst inflation bout in four decades is gradually waning, but the fed doesn't expect inflation to slow enough to get close to its 2% target until well into 2024 that means the Central Bank will most likely raise its benchmark rate by at least a quarter point when it meets at the end of the month.

What's Next for the Economy

What's Next for the Economy

"What's next for the economy? This story comes from The Washington Post. Job market has been a bright spot for months. I don't think so. The unemployment rate at 3.7% remains near historic lows, but it's not really the unemployment rate. It's how many people have checked out. So what's next for the economy? Economists aren't quite sure, big surprise there. There's no question that we're in for more of a cool down, though it's unclear how rapidly or dramatically that might happen. The fed is hoping to slow the economy into a gradual controlled descent. The many experts agree that things could quickly spiral down, possibly leading to a recession. Our recession probability models have moved to uncomfortably high level Morgan Stanley economists wrote in a recent report. Tighter financial conditions and market volatility suggest with session in the next 12 months is a coin toss. It's not a coin toss. It's a done deal. The recession is here. It's going to be painful and it's going to go for a while. The markets are forward looking. So when I gave you the market report from birch gold, that sounded like good news, the first week of the year will tell us whether or not they think. Djokovic says no hard feelings over Australian deportation

"Djokovic was deported almost 12 months ago after arriving unvaccinated against the coronavirus. It's great to be back in Australia. They were strict virus restrictions in place at the time. Djokovic says he still has difficulty forgetting his deportation. But it is a valuable life experience for me and something that, as I said, will stay there, but I have to move on. As I said, and coming back to Australia, speaks how I feel about this country, how I feel about playing here. Djokovic has won the Australian opener record 9 times, including the last three times he played. I really look forward playing there. You know, it's been my favorite slam and results are proving that. The Australian government overturned a three year ban that came with Djokovic's deportation and granted him a Visa to return for the Australian open. I'm Ed Donahue

Mark Morgan: There's No Downside to Securing Our Border

"You know, just some perspective for the listeners out there, Mark. I mean, you're talking 8000 a day in two weeks. You're filling up the rose bowl. That's right. That's insane. I love talking to you. Look, I've used that word again again. We really are living the definition of insanity. Think about this. And the first 60 days, 62 months of this fiscal year, they've already had 5 and a half million total encounters, and they've had a 160,000 got aways in 60 days at this pace. And with the 12 months, this fiscal year, we're going to have over 3 million total encounters in over a million known got aways just in 12 months. Leave that is insanity. There's no country in the face of the planet that can sustain that. And again, how many murders rapist pedophiles aggravated films in gang members are you okay with being a part of the millions of known goda ways that now call the United States home? This is what this is crazy. It is insanity. There's no downside to securing our border.

J6 Committee Abandons Efforts to Subpoena Phone Records

"Out by accident online. Let's put the headline up from the fake news outlet that is CNN. January 6th, committee winds down and is abandoning its efforts to subpoena phone records before the week before Christmas a year ago. I arrived home with a little FedEx envelope from Verizon saying Nancy wants your phone records and your why phone records and your children's phone records and we're going to give them. I filed an injunction 12 months later, they've dropped it. Nancy's given up. What's going on guys? They are worried about the same tactics being used against them. They know that this is the beginning of the anti ship anti Pelosi tactics. And I hope the Republicans have the cojones to do what the Democrats because I go back to the independent council law. And everybody loved it when it was being used against the Republicans. And then Bill Clinton took office and it was used against the Democrats. And you know what? It was just a miracle up there on the hill. They decided not to renew it when it had run its course. Let me ask you, can you imagine the GOP after January putting in a subpoena for John Brennan's phone records? Or someone else, a former cabinet official from the Trump administration? I think they should. But can you imagine it? I want to imagine it. I hope it will happen. And if they don't do it, they're going to disappoint a lot of people and they're going to show they don't have the strength of character necessary to do the job. This isn't about taking depositions and bringing people up. That's a part of the process. But before you do that, you need records to cross examine people about. Phone records, emails. They need to do exactly what they did to the Republicans. Just like the independent counsel law. They have to hurt the Democrats as much as the Democrats were willing to hurt Republicans. And until they feel it, it's never going to stop. All right,

"Ugly plastic planter that came with it jahromi remarks and it's like this ugly black plastic planter yawn. I'll do is. I'll put it inside like a nice basket as is i won't even take the plant out. Take adder out elvis. Use it like a vase. Yeah that's not good. Oh really yeah so okay. It is for a while but when water it take it out water it and put it back in one scene for the plant. It's not good so like so like when you get these things that are that are planted in like say you get a six inch pot of pathos or whatever so if you look at it for the most part. They're already like out. They've already pretty much outgrown their their little pop there in the they have tons of roots and the roots are like. I wanna go somewhere else like i need. I need to stretch out so usually when you buy like six inch you bring it home and you put in eight inch with some new dirt Like you don't have to a lot of times you can totally go for. I don't know sorry. I'm going so plant on your right now but like you can. You can go for like i don't know six months or a year and then you have to replant it like by a year. Most people most crazy people like me re repot like once a year and there might there might be some people out there that say notion in your full of it and that's fine. That's just like what i do. And where i'm at and like you gotta pull out kind of look at the roots and see what's going on see if the if it's over rooted if there's lots of roots at the bottom you definitely have to put it in a new and new pie. That's actually a really good point. Yappy as you've yelled at me before and said get this poor baby at ear and let me re-pot this for you and i'm like yes i have..

"And i just i. If it's not too much money at the goodwill i always. I always pick it up which budget on that. What your budget like five dollars and under unless it's like just like ceramic in huge and beautiful than al more because those things are like sixty bucks. I definitely pay more for something like that. But that is very rare to find like if you ever find that. Oh my god it. That's so cool. Yeah that's that's that's a good range. So one thing i think is kind of cute is to buy some because you had mentioned like picking them up all year and we kind of talked about this with vases but to pick them up throughout the year to give them as gifts so you get a nice little plants. I'm thinking about the ones i saw today. They were just cute little Probably eight inch six inch planters. That were pink and purple. And i was like. Oh my gosh. This would be the perfect teacher gift right now. Put a little succulent in their your mother's day gift hostess gift. What us really cute inexpensive gift to give totally so say say you get like five those cute little planters and you wanna give him as a teacher gift so then you have five teachers covered but then like to keep it cheap because plants can be a little bit expensive is like go. Buy one like cheap basket at like we have marks around here. We're lucky but like go by a basket for under ten bucks and you can take that basket and you can separate it up and put a little bit of the flower in each of those five Little pots that you bought. So you spend ten bucks on the on the Hanging basket and you spend like five bucks on you. Know all of the little planters. You've got fifteen bucks five teachers covered. I mean come on. that's great. That's so affordable and like we were saying it's practical. It's something that they can have for a long time especially succulents they last forever. Yes yes succulents are little bit more expensive. You're gonna spend like three to ten dollars on one succulent But we just found that. Really cool Succulent trae at. Lowe's that you can see on dina's instagram..

"Them at the store i was there today. I stopped in for just like ten minutes and they must have restocked because there were tons of planters had pink ones and purple ones and terra. Cotta ones all sorts of stuff. Nice was that like New goods no they were they were in the kind of youth section but a lot of them were still kind of brand new like they were secondhand but new sometimes i wonder if they like hold them till spring because they know people get spring fever and wanna grab. I wanna pay you know. Get him cheap but at the same time if they let him go all the way down until like say it's wintertime and they're just sitting there and people get to cheap. I wonder if they hold them and then set them out like right now. I'm gonna pay five dollars that weight and pay one dollars. Do you know what i'm saying. Yeah yeah that's cleared a good point. I wonder if they do kind of hold on to hold onto them until they can put out like a decent sized collection. Yeah yeah so. Today we thought we would share some tips on how to find planters. I feel like for some newbie. Drifters planters are not like the first thing that comes to mind when you think of a thrift store you just you know go to a regular store I had some people that were kind of surprised like really the go to goodwill for that so. I'm excited to talk about some tips. Here's some of your pro tips for planting and planters and we can talk about some fun repurposing ideas as well y- like i don't know how pro this is going to be because there's some people that follow us. That really know a lot about plants. So i would say i'm a novice. Isn't that the right word. That's a little. I know a little. I know enough to get in trouble but definitely you want to go to the thrift store. Because they're not cheap at retail. I know we say that pretty much. That could be like our tagline on this show. it's not cheap real retail. I find all these really cute things at target. And i have to hold myself back all the time because i'm like oh my gosh..

"I don't know let me. Just let me see what i find in these in like those katie dishes for so cheap because people are so over that stuff so many candy dishes shannon just like my brain is like. Where are you going to put these. I'm like trying to figure it out. Oh you should put them. Because i worry about them being outside like what if they tip over. I'm worried more about them cracking because remember that cute little mushroom i buy at last year or in has like orange around it like the orange. Pink cracked off in. Because i left it outside for the winner. I know where you should put it. Where in your fireplace your non-functioning wally. I dunno friend like brian. it's u. S cute though. Brian can like it. Okay i think don't you think Mushroom sir starting to be mainstream. So much keying mushroom jewelry and hats everywhere. Yeah like what. Are they listening to our podcasts. Taking her rusher. Like mushrooms are the new rainbows. They're so cute. Did we called it. We call you. Did the same thing with rainbows. A year ago unicorns are out. Rainbows are in. And i was right. Yeah you were happened. Real quick we talk a lot about shopping. let's take a moment to talk about donating. Here's some quick tips to remember when donating your items to any thrift store washer items or make sure that they're clean rubberband shoes together so that they don't get separated and then separate clothing from household items. I finally cleaned out my basement and took a bunch of vintage to the goodwill akron donation. Drive up when you donate at the retail store drive up you have the option to either place it in the designated bins yourself for contact leaves drop off or you can ask the donation attendant for assistance next drive or walk up to the qr code sign and scanty. Get your donation receipt. You can also access the donation link directly from the goodwill akron website. Find a donation drop-off near you by going goodwill akron.

"Anyone who needs to temporarily stage home. Yeah or maybe even if like for older kids. If you're working on some type of project can you need to put stuff in jars or vases Totally work too. I love the idea of interior designers and realtors because they're staging homes all the time and i right. I've seen this before with interior designers. Were they're bringing their own flowers for photo shoots or something and on my gosh. What a way to stock up on a little collection you could have all sorts of colors and shapes and sizes for all the different homes. You're you're designing so smart especially not to like keep having to go buy it over and over again. Because i'm sure that they have like classic pieces that they can. They will work in like any home right. Those are those are fun ideas. Yeah florus for sure or like florist who do workshops. Both of us have been garden. Centers and flower workshops and have people pick from an assortment really cool drifted vases. Yeah that's a great idea. All right so we know that you can fill your vases with flowers but you can fill them with anything. There are so many different type of vase fillers that you can use year round. I like to fill mine with ornaments around the holidays. I've seen people do fruit. You could do scented fillers. You could make terrariums with succulents. You could have a cute little small vase on your desk and fill it with markers or pens. I mean anything you want to fill it with. You can just think of it as like a cop. Yeah the first time. I saw a vase filled with ornaments. I lost my mind. It's just a cute is classiest thing and it's so simple it doesn't seem like it should book as nice as it does. Yeah yeah or you could do like ray again rainbow ornaments like if you not necessarily rainbow but like if you had like a bunch of clear vases and you could do look is all pay inc one is all blue ornaments. Ones all purple. How cute is that. Yeah that's adorable. What a great idea. And of course you can. Diy with your vases there. Dozens of creative ways use vases. You can paint them wrapped them up in yarn use. Washy take create designs. turn them into a chalkboard. Hey them on the wall to create a floating vase. I love the chalkboard idea because you could like right. The person's name on it that you're giving it to. Isn't that cute. I love that shannon. Didn't we do this did we. Listen i ha- member on vine. Yeah okay in my old apartment and we. There's a video of us thirty spray painting vases that we may use like the chocolate chalkboard spray paint. No we that was mason jars as a separate okay. Then it was the same phase. Because i have listened. I swear i'm gonna go back in form you lived at that house. You were diy queen. That's when i found myself. "But i mean i'm sure you've seen it where you do find out more. They all match or were there all color coordinated but they're the same style Because a lot of things. I think people do take their leftovers from events and take him to good well because they don't really know what to do with them after the fact and then you can also use them as centerpieces give them as favors used them to store. Utensils and straws Just to name a few ideas. Yeah yeah and you're absolutely right. I can't tell you how many times i've seen entire vase. Collections you can tell they have been curated together being donated as a goodwill you sometimes even have like the little ribbon on them somebody. Diy like there are. This happens a lot because yeah people don't want to be stuck with all those vases right after the event. And i've done that before. I like your point about like storing stuff in there so i've had you know get together or even birthday parties or something. I'll just take like the clear vases are like i had like a really pretty blue vase. And i put some colorful straws in there. Or i'll put like the serving spoons in a vase and it just kind of adds a surprising element here. Yeah it kind of elevates your your area makes it look the ncaa little more fun and it's just like plastic straws from the store you know the but while speaking of colors one of the most fun things you can do with basis is to create a colorful collection. We all know about your colorful collection. Almost started with teapots. Remember i remember. Yeah so last summer for those who do not know about my vase rainbow collection last summer. I really needed to fill a creative void after being quaranteed for several weeks. And i even on the podcast asked shannon one day. I'm like i think. I wanna collect teapots for this ledge in my kitchen. And she's like shut up. Don't do it it's like i don't wanna project..

"Focused on drifting storage solutions for our homes and this month were fifty. Vases you know how. I feel about vases So fun. they're so easy to. They're so easy to find what i thought was like do even have enough to talk about and then the more thought about it like we do yet are so much. Gosh so i think the first thing we would say is why through vases because you think about it and i guess it's like one of those things that we always thrift but we don't realize that we are recycling basis was one of the sustainable things that you can do for your home. Places like goodwill akron can carry a huge variety of vases in all shapes colors sizes textures. Whatever your style is. I'm sure you'll find it. Yeah it is kind of like storage solutions in a way where you're like i don't really think about it. I don't feel like that excited when i buy vases like the average person right. There's a lot to cover. There are a lot of fun ideas fun options and like to your point. About why thrift. Vases i feel like vases. Or one of those things relate if we could stop producing them new. I think we'll be fine till the end of time. A hundred percent agree the first thing. I thought this whole thing should be called is how to save you ten dollars i mean oh my god anytime. You walk into a thrift store. You can find a vase and there are a lot of things that we talk about on the podcast room like thrift store staple right like you can go and you'll almost always find a denim jacket right but this is one of those things where i'm like. No no for real for real. You find vase no question. Maybe find a denim jacket but it might not be in your size but you will find vase. There's so much yes so many cool looking one small ones big ones like anything that you like. See on your pinchers board. You're gonna find it at the thrift store so if you're thinking that we only vases for flowers you're in for tree..
