Students in China Are 'Crushing It' Academically

"We had some wonderful supporters of the show, callers listeners who gave a very large donation to one of our charities last year. So we invited them here to have lunch with me. They came into the studio last week. And I didn't know anything about them upset their great supporters. They just returned from four years in China, where they were running an international school day. It's a bit like, you know, the Soviet Army, an international school has to have a Chinese headmaster and a western headmaster. This lady was the western principle and her husband was one of the teachers. And she told me this story her students were just absolutely to use the vernacular crushing it academically. And they were traveling to Oxford in Cambridge, being given scholarships going to the best schools, all of them getting the best grades in the stem subjects. None of them started the humanities. It was all biology, mathematics, engineering, and so forth. And they just dominating the global academic environment. Isn't that indicative? It's not Parton parcel of this worldview that the current regime has and how the people beneath the regime are gobbling up global assets. 11 million Chinese kids take the college entrance exam each year. That's a gaucho. 50% of them are going to get university places. In other words, the Chinese government sets the threshold for failure at 50% because they know that's going to give the maximum motivation to their kids. And they work their hearts out for years, only half of them will pass. That is a brutal and ruthless meritocracy. The devil takes the hindmost. Here, we can't tolerate failure. Every kid's got to be above average. Everyone's equaled some are more equal than others, and we people who have a political lobby behind their particular ethnicity or sexual orientation. And whereas the Chinese tend to major as you said, in the stem subjects, take the toughest stuff, only 7% of our kids take engineering. We graduate 40,000 mechanical engineers a year. That's why Tim Cook says he can't build an iPhone in the United States. So the Chinese think the world is going to be there. They're on all of what the United States used to be. And they want to be the United States of 1890 crushing Britain and eating Britain's

Schumer: Vote on Infrastructure Bill Could Come Within Days

"Rare Sunday sessions underway the Senate as negotiators complete thousands of pages of text in a trillion dollars bipartisan infrastructure bill, said a majority leader Chuck Schumer, once the legislative text of the agreement is finalized and I understand it is being finalized imminently. I will offer it as a substitute amendment. As I've always promised, And then the Senate can finally begin voting on additional amendments. Given the thoroughly bipartisan nature of the bill, I expect will be able to consider all the relevant amendments and finish the bill in a matter of days. Humor says that after the work is done, he'll push through a $3.5 trillion so called human infrastructure bill for its social programs. Three members of Congress, including Missouri Democratic representative Cori Bush slept outside the U. S Capitol overnight. They were protesting the inaction by their colleagues to allow a federal moratorium on evictions to expire. Bush spoke to Fox's Griff Jenkins. I can't for the life of me understand why we are saying it's okay to force people out of their homes because as legislators or because our, uh the powers that be didn't make it happen for anywhere from 7 to 11 million people. This is unconscious. Unconscionable is inhumane, which took to Twitter to call out President Biden and Senator Chuck Schumer to extend the moratorium, as well as asking House Speaker Nancy Pelosi to reconvene the House for a vote during the August recess.

"Wanted to keep this with what you were talking about. But with all the distractions of CRT and black lives matter and Being politically correct here and the stuff that we talk about every day. Uh and more than concerned, I'm worried that the nefarious countries like China and Russia Perhaps North Korean Iran. Why wouldn't they make a move? They they have their pulse on the American people. I've talked about this, I think When you're when you're crumbling from within its very provocative You're absolutely right. They look for opportunities. Right. So in the end, why would they wait for 2024 election where a trump or Pompeii would get in there? For Well, they start to be careful. You know, we still have a very powerful military and nuclear weapons. And so rather than just confront us that way. They're doing other things like China right now is doing many other things that it's massively building up its military. It is it is building and ports and docks all over the world, including in our hemisphere, including in Africa and other parts of the world. It is slowly but surely making claim to islands in territorial waters that don't belong to it. It's making claims to airspace that doesn't belong to it. You have China and Russia now and Antarctica, making claims to that area and putting military bases building them there. You have killer satellites that can attack our grid. All of this is going on. As Joe Biden weakens the country from within, weakens the economy from within. I want to talk next hour very much about what's going on on the border here that there's not 11 million illegal aliens in this country. It's closer to 35 million. And now he wants to push amnesty. They want to push it through this omnibus spending bill. This is this has all the telltale signs. Of a American. Marxist type of approach to things

Chicago Bears get under cap while keeping Fuller

"Improved today. Free agency her I come. That's from Jared. Thank you, Jared. Then how did the bears keep Kyle Fuller today? How did they get under the cap is a good question because it was floated out earlier this morning that Kyle Fuller might all of a sudden become available on my goodness. I would do some backflips here in the studio. Not that I could. And not that I would really try. But mentally, you know, figuratively. Metaphorically. I would do backflips if the Broncos somehow could pull off a trade. Or acquisition of Kyle Fuller. It was floated out there that he might even become available for, like, 1/4 round pick. That was this morning. Of course, the new league here has started. Every team needs to be underneath the salary cap so somehow The Bears were able to get in there. But that does not mean he's not Possible to become available. There's there's still potential there, because again, the Bears might see some other players they want to get. They still have some roster holes. Call four based on where's contract situation is is that could save 11 million to the cap? If they moved on from Kyle Fuller? If they could somehow find a trade partner right there reconfigured that kind of stuff. You know that a leak that out that came out from the Chicago side of the house to get Kyle Fuller to take the team to take the The restructure. That's exactly what it was. It's negotiating through the media s O. That was. I don't know if that was a surprise to people or what? I've seen that tactic to play before, so I knew what itwas on def he had had been Let go. Yes, the Broncos would have been very interested. They would been all over that, however, you know, I mean, that's that's just It's Organization. Negotiating to the meeting happens all the time you get the leak. Well, I think I had to let him go. And that that make sure that the player gets the message like, Hey, we're cutting you if you don't You don't get your cap number down. We need it s It's really wanna call Fuller here. It's strong arming people. Yeah, I know. You know, I hear you. Um, Yeah, I would like you to butt on. That would've made a nice a nice trio corners. But, you know, I think they're looking for lower tier veteran guy to be some beam or death, like the dime corner. On. I think their top three this year is just probably going to be, uh, Darby Callahan. And he's saying Bassi question

Since Biden's victory in November. The president has back to bill to give legal status in a path to citizenship to the estimated 11 million people. Living in the country illegally. United States and Mexico are stronger when we stand together. There's a long and complicated history between our nations that haven't always been perfect neighbors with one another. When I started 27 days ago, I learned that we did not have Thief facilities available or equipped To administer the humanitarian laws that are Congress passed years ago. Way did not have the personnel. Policies, procedures or training to administer those laws. Quite frankly, the entire system was gutted. It takes time. Build out of the depths of cruelty that the administration before us established, they need. They need to wait. It takes time. To rebuild the system from scratch. If they come if families come if single adults come to the border, we are obligated to in the service of public health, including the health of the very people who are thinking of coming. To impose the travel restrictions under the C D. C s title 42 with the authorities and return them. To Mexico and we have done that. We need individuals to wait and I will say that they will wait with a goal in mind and that is our ability to rebuild as quickly as possible. A system so that they don't have to take that the dangerous journey and we can enable them tow access humanitarian relief from their Kwan countries. Of origin. Um, do you believe that right now, there's a crisis at the border. I think that the answer is no. I think there is a challenge at the border that we are managing. "Me. Lead story. Well confirm covert cases in the U. S had 11 million. The jump from 10 to 11 million took all of six days and now it's It's a mess. 246,000 deaths We're gonna hit that 250,000, which will be big news, although 249,999 in one more doesn't you know that's not huge news? It's just another number, but Uh, you wait that will happen before the end of the week, Incidentally, and it's going to get very, very tough, Dark winner. As Dr Fauci has said, and the Corona virus vaccine, it will be here. There is no question about it. We're getting tremendous success on the two vaccines have already been announced, but be prepared for, uh, this pandemic to go full blast for the next several months. I don't know if you guys have seen these pictures, but it's incredible. You've got Texas inmates carrying bodies into refrigerated trucks in El Paso, and they're like they're in their actual black and white striped jail uniforms. Then they've got pee pees on and they've got gloves and masks in the whole nine yards, And then they are carrying, though on stretchers. These But body bags and then they've got the trucks waiting right there for them because they have had so many deaths that they are overwhelmed and help out so right now, and those are hospitals all over the country that will bring in refrigeration refrigerated trucks as morgues, Temporary morgues. It's bad, it's bad. It's bad news, but again light at the end of the tunnel. Absolutely vaccine will kick in. By mid summer. We should see dramatic improvements. Another problem of the pandemic, which fortunately is not as upsetting as all the deaths. Sharp decline in the number of students coming to college here from other countries torture college. "Some great news has come out Moderna, another of the huge pharmaceutical companies and developing a vaccine. It looks like they're vaccine having gone through its testing phase 30,000 people. 95% effective and it doesn't have to be super frozen. So we're going to see vaccines come out. We have a choice of vaccines, Probably But that is extraordinarily good news. The bad news is we now have 11 million cases of Kobe in the U. S deaths have hit 246,000 hospitalizations are up over 70,000. That's not good news. But as Dr Fauci said, Working for a dark winter, But there is light at the end of the tunnel. So how is Cove Ed? Changed completely the workplace. What we know the workplace may no longer be the work place. And it is at home in many, many cases and Via the big tech companies are the ones that are sort of leading the way on this and that is to work at home, and it's fascinating because they were the ones that insisted that people work on the campuses. That they created the Amazon. The Google campuses of which you had open seating people congregating together there, it Z. That's the way they did it perks like crazy Ping Pong table free cafeteria food. You want a snack? You get it. It was a way to keep people together. It was way ideas could be exchanged. It was away. These people can work insane hours and so and they're the first ones. Now they say you could work at home. So one of the benefits now that's being offered for people who work at home are benefits like Hospital Indemnity plans. Paying for couples therapy. Can you imagine the The business paying for couples therapy. Why? Because you're a home and it's Z just a lot more difficult when you're around someone constantly. And then you have the kids at home schooling. I mean, it is really stressful. So Mom and dad. I have couples therapy, prepaid legal plans, and this one stunned me when I looked into this prepaid legal plans. Where the workers the employees are concerned about putting their affairs in order getting their trust trust set up making sure that final arrangements are made. Burial arrangements will's I mean, would you ever have thought of that? Why? Because people are so concerned about Cove it people are so concerned about dying. And we're talking about not just elderly people. I mean, who in their 40 sit down and tries to figure out what kind of will and trust making sure the kids are gonna be. Okay. Now people are thinking about it like crazy. Then you have companies there are planning to expand virtual care options access to online therapy platforms across the board. And even to the point where companies are saying and indemnifying the insurance plan, saying even out of network medical practitioners, particularly mental health practitioners will be paid for It is truly a different way that it is done. They're also paying and for the co pays, usually accompany has, of course, the insurance plan and you get a co pay up to X number of dollars. 8000. Whatever your plan is now, the companies are saying will cover that. And if you are hospitalized will go ahead and give you additional money. For to help out your family. And here is another benefit on this one really resonated with me because I talk about identity theft all the time when I do commercials, and that is because your home And because you're using your Internet at home. And because companies generally arm or security, spend more money on security and how much money do you spend on security? The incidents of identity theft is way up so the companies are offering many companies.

We can't lock ourselves up in a basement like Joe does. He says that we're you know, we're learning to live with it. People are learning to die with you folks home. We'll have an empty chair at the kitchen table this morning. Joining us live now to talk about it. NBC news analyst Howard Fineman. Howard just 11 days to Election Day more than 42 Million Americans have already voted. Those who haven't though. Got to see some pretty stark differences last night, where there any defining moments for you or any big gaffes for either candidate. Well, first what you just played. Ah, sound by sound bites of one of the defining moments. Uh, there were others. Ah, I have not seen a debate in quite some time that so Starkly and in away neatly Find the differences between the two candidates, their visions, their voters, everything about it. Something Donald Trump is definitely opposed to Joe Biden said he wants that bill in the past by the House to become law and billions of dollars distributed right away. Job, Donald Trump said. You know, too much of that money was going to go to Democratic cities and so forth on Corona virus Basically, Joe Biden said. It's getting worse. And you failed, Mr President. The president said. No, it's almost over and I've got a great job. If there was a gaffe at all, and I don't think that was really a major one, I think was toward the end of the debate. Where Joe Biden could have given a much better defense and explanation of his wanting to transition away from fossil fuse fuels but a little too abruptly and a little, too. Currently, he said that he wanted to transition away from fossil fuels and Deals in oil, and that's not going to help him in Pennsylvania and some of the Big West ST. Now President Trump needed to change the course of this race. Did he do anything last night that is going to help him in these final days. I don't like it. I think to the extent that he spent time talking about Hunter Biden's exploits as a businessman. It didn't help himself. If anything, I think the debate showed that when Donald Trump talked about re Elish use, even if he often wasn't telling the full story about them. It was more effective was a more effective ideological and, you know, programmatic contrast. I think the attacks on on Joe Biden son's business, I think are a waste of time for Trump, and they're not helping him in any way. They fizzled last night. I think when Joe Biden said, Look, it's not about your family. It's not about It's not about the president's family. It's not about my family. It's about your family America by you sitting around the kitchen table that pretty much put a capper on it. No, I don't. I don't think Donald Donald Trump was much more organized. Ah, in his message that he was last time he was quote presidential If you consider all The statements he made to be presidential. He was at least acting more presidential is that that just dug him out of the Holy put himself in the earlier debate. I will say this, though. Anybody who thinks this race is over Even though there are only 11 days left are not looking at history. I think it's going to be a close tight race. I'm looking at the polls now. "Madame Chair is the top Republican on the House Financial Services Committee again, Patrick McHenry of North Korea's own data, We see that there is a substantial economic recovery happening. Not even way see economic numbers improving and Wei have many households that they're about the same as they were a little better off in terms of savings and back at the beginning of the year. But we see many households much, much worse off. And so it's sort of a tale of two different recoveries, if you will are two different experiences of this pandemic. So while we see good economic numbers What are the areas that you see is needing further assistance? What areas of our economy do you see is eating further assistance to get us back to Something more normalized given where we are with with Koven. I guess I would. I would point to the labor market to sort of capture the size of the issue. We still have 11 million. People out of the 22 million who were laid off from the payroll numbers in March and April. Still 11 million out there, and that's that's really good progress. We've put fully half of those backto work, but that's a long way to go. "The policies of the radical left trillions in new taxes, crushing middle class families. Reelect Mayor your taxes are going to raise not cut. 11 million illegal immigrants ship for 11 1 documented reducing police funding. Yes, absolutely radical Left has taken over Joe Biden and the Democratic Party. Don't let them take over America. Donald J. Trump, and I approve this message that from the Trump campaign, and earlier today we talked to a key Democratic strategist regarding the upcoming DNC convention in Milwaukee hears that conversation recorded on Zoom 70 cutter is the sheet program executive for the Democratic National Convention. At what point during this pandemic. Did you realize you were switching from a more normal convention to one that's going to be much more virtual? Well, we were hopeful as the The pandemic was unfolding in the early months of this year. We were hopeful by moving our dates back by month that we could still holds a physical convention where delegates could come come to Milwaukee on we could conduct our party business but also producing traditional convention. It was pretty soon after that, as the lock down continued that it was clear that that wasn't gonna happen. So we started planning for Mention that is fairly unconventional, compared Teo Years past pretty early. It's taking a while to figure out exactly what it will be on DH how we handle ensuring that delegates can feel like they can participate. But then all Americans who feel like they can participate in this because the benefits there lots of downsides. You know, we are not physically together. But the upside is more Americans can participate. You don't need a credential participate convention. But clearly these are uncharted waters. No party has ever gone through something quite like this. No, never That way. We've been looking at lots of the other programming That's been been hearing over the past many months where people can't physically travel to do Interviews or Teo segments together. You know, the global citizens concert. That aired or the the the NFL draft or, you know, the graduation ceremonies. We've been looking at how people have been producing these and studying how best to produce content in a program like this, because this is basically a TV show. So how do we keep people engaged? How we hold people in and how do we communicate with people wherever they are on the platforms that they prefer a lot of work? Andi. I feel like we're in a good place and almost ready to roll. I realize it is a work in progress. But based on what you know, now, two weeks before the convention gets underway, how will each night unfold? Well, it is a work in progress. Thieves and a lot of those details are still coming together, so I don't want to make news on that right now. But it'll be night. 79 p. M to 11 PM I must get the time wrong. Not cancel 11 PM each night, and we've got some surprises in store. And guess what I'll say is that since this format is unconventional here, thrown out of the rules of how conventions are programs We're doing some unconventional things. So without revealing too much. I really encourage everybody to tune in to see some familiar faces. Obama. Michelle Obama, Obviously Vice President Biden on Dr Biden on DH, someone familiar faces so we're we're really looking forward to it. We think it represents thie, the diversity of America, the strength of America and how we Pull this country together to move it forward, and we've become accustomed to zoom and Google hangouts. But how do you prepare? Prepare Technically, for this kind of convention? What type of backups? Do you have to make sure that it goes smoothly. Well, it's a mix of live segments, A cz well as prerecorded segments and some video production s Oh, for the life segments For some of our biggest newsmakers. We want to make sure that their live on DH unedited So our production team is working hard we've got you know when we say this is a virtual convention. It's not technically a total virtual convention cause there's enough life programming in there that I would get backup plans in place in case something should happen. And you know, it won't be a program that moves quickly, and it's Billy engaging. What has been your biggest challenge You personally getting people to make the transition to. I guess it's a nonphysical convention. It's totally, you know, online and on error on DH and how to think people engaged in it. I think we've figured it out on DH. There will be elements where people who don't normally participate in these conventions will be able to engage. There will be activities all over the country happening at the same time, so it's a mix of organizing. It's um It's a virtual content, and it's a mix of creativity. So you know my biggest challenge was You know, getting everybody to make that transition and thinking alike on it, But it's a senator. And a great process. A great een Lots of Stephanie Cutter. What was your first National Party convention? Do you remember the moment? I don't want to date myself. Stupid. 1988. I was an intern my freshman year in college for Michael to caucus. So I ask you that because I'm wondering if this is going to change conventions moving forward in 2024 2021 28. Well, I think everybody would agree that the convention needed to be updated needed to be modernized conventions in history were about delegates coming to vote on the nominee, and there was an element of It's on it and they're making and trading of votes, and you know it would come the nominee from this convention, it's largely a foregone conclusion. Now there was a little suspense in 2016 of how that would go. There's there's no suspense this time, but a lot of important things that need to be said. I think it would be wise for conventions. Tio Tio rethink What the purpose of Amar There's business that has to happen, but how you communicate With the American people out of them is really important and standing on the stage with a room full of people. It is one way but in other ways, Teo to go where people are and communicate conventions are really expensive, and there might be a better way to spend those dollars. You know, C Span will have live gavel to gavel coverage of all of the proceedings. The final life the night that the Democrats Nominee Vice President Biden accepts the nomination. From your standpoint right now. What's that going to look like right now? Intends for the vice president to accept this nomination in Milwaukee on and that's where the anchor of the program will be on DH. You know, it'll be it'll be a great night. You know, one thing that is clear that People are looking to know more about Joe Biden and his life story. His record on who is and they will come away from this convention, knowing that Stephanie Cutter is the chief program executive for the Democratic National Convention, joining us via Zoom here in Washington. Thank you for your time. And of course, the question remains, who will be Vice President Biden's running mate in campaign 2020 we expected learn next week, according to a number of media reports and during event today. Ousted by the Council on Foreign Relations. South Carolina Democratic Congressman Jim Clyburn, who was a key adviser to Joe Biden, weighing in on the VP pick, We will take our next question from John Austin afternoon. Thank you very much, Congressman Clyburn. Me. Yes, I can. So I just want a little clarity in your comment when you said that if I understood you correctly that vice President Biden should be informed by the polling for his running mate. At the same time, you should make that decision based on His head in his heart..
