"Hours starts now. Good afternoon. I'm Justin King, along with Luke Paterson stocked open lower this morning. Currently looking at the markets, the Dow was down 105 points to 34 9 95, the S and P is down. 12 points to 4005 07 and the NASDAQ is down 109 points. 15,000 to 65 price of gold down $4 to 7 1093 and the price of oil is up. 91 cents to 69 26 if we look over at crypto Bitcoin is down. As well as ether, and the 10 Year Treasury Note is at 1.3% Luke. Today, the number of job openings in the U. S hit a record high for the fifth straight month in July as employers continue to have difficulty finding workers. Well, that's going to continue, I think a little while. In fact, we'll talk about half the show on that today. We'll also talk about this low yield environment. We continue to find ourselves in, uh, just a tease real quick. Currently, 85% of high yield bonds have a negative real yield. In fact, in other words, if you if you could consider inflation What you invested in receiver, nominal rate of return or your yield and high yield bonds. 85% of those high yield bonds have a negative real return after inflation That's pretty historic, and in fact, that obviously is indicative of what we already know that yields are low, and now that also yields are low. But the enemy of fixed income is inflation. And so we have that inflation, eating up all your yield and accept and so that, in fact, you have less money than you invested in. So there are some possible portfolio solutions to deal with a low yield environment that allows me to sort of speak briefly to our weekly market report the weekly report that goes out and you can go to the website of video wealth dot com to pick that up. So we'll talk about that. Today. We will also mentioned just the month of August, usually a pretty Good litmus test for the dog days of summer and the market. The market passed the test in style, a pretty nice 2.9% gain. This was the seventh consecutive month of positive price performance, which is pretty incredible. Only occurring 15 times since 1950 call it a one in 50 event. One in 50 event for the seventh consecutive month. The positive price performance of the S and P we've gone the entire year. Without as much as a 5% drawdown. And this has only happened twice before. 1995 in 2000 and 17. Only twice before. Have we not seen or we've gone without as much as a 5% drawdown, the most we have seen Are four brief 3% declines so far in 2021. And it's been clear the buy. The dip strategy has worked each and every time the sentiment a momentum are pretty incredible. Uh and even barons feature the survey of Wall Street strategists, and it's pretty clear the S and P has already hit the year end price targets, and many of those strategists are lifting their price targets. Going this year as a reminder we were very constructive or our list is certainly a constructive on equities or stocks coming into 2000 and 21. We were talking about those three big, important macro factors. One What's going on with the infection curve to what will be happening with monetary policy. And of course, we know the infection curves come down. We've had to deal with Delta, for sure. But the liquidity from monetary policy, the printing of money, and the fiscal policy has been enormous. A huge response. So we've had such a response from monetary and fiscal policy, providing so much liquidity to the economy and to the market. That even with the economy showing signs of, you know, uh, just slowing down some not as hot as many people have expected. The market continues to rally and again, this buy the dip mentality has largely worked. But from You know what's going on in terms of the economy. Consider how some of the data begins to show we had seen some of the economic data. We've been sharing that with you over the recent weeks, talking about how we would expect the second half of the year to slow down. In fact, you've seen if you've been watching this, and we've been reporting on this all the big reports of nine and 10% expected GDP growth for the third quarter. Is all coming down closer to 5%. 6% expectation for the third quarter and even lower for the fourth. And that is because, well, you can imagine how big it is going to be to have roughly 11 to 12 million people no longer getting an extra $300 per week for just lounging around. We're talking about the loss of roughly $170 billion dollars of income support. Or in GDP terms. 0.8% of GDP. This is not small. Is the equivalent of four months of personal income down the drain. And for these folks, it's either go back to work or cut your spending habits, so this has an impact. And we're beginning to see some of the impact here. And with the former, I think, comes more competition for fewer jobs since demand is really weakening sharply, both participation rate and the unemployment rate began to rise in this recent hiccup and wages ends up reversing course. And then with the ladder, I think, comes a pullback in the spending commensurate with the decline in federal government cash giveaways. And and at a time when the withdrawal of the stimulus checks has already cost the personal sector four trillion at an annual rate of lost income since that massive push to stuff people's bank accounts with borrowed money facilitated on the Federal Reserve's balance sheet, So who knew this is what real capitalism? Stood for. So you mentioned the jobs report earlier, Justin so the jobs opening out number by the way the unemployed by more than two million in July as companies struggle to fill a record number of vacancies..
