Are Dinesh and Debbie 'Hated' Because of '2000 Mules'?

"The other one of the things that Debbie does, all of our many of our very wide portfolio, is she kind of is the receptacle of all this feedback that comes through both through my website, but also you check things out on Facebook. And you were just telling me what did you see? Yeah, yeah. So a Facebook friend of mine just sent me a little screenshot of us on another podcast that we did last week. And he goes, Debbie, you guys are hated by many factions. You will remain in my prayers by name each day. And I hated isn't all caps. Yeah, the hated is an all caps. So they must be, they must be trying to just bring us down. You know, usually that happens when you speak truth and they don't like it. They don't want you to speak truth. And I think it's also become a problem. Emerald Robinson was talking about this. And I think she's right to this degree. She was saying that this movie is a kind of a problem. It's a problem for Fox News. It's a problem for the GOP establishment. They were hoping not to have to deal with something like this. It was easy for them when they could just write this stuff. It's a conspiracy theory. But when you have all this video evidence and there are people who are compiling little video snippets. And I tell you, tell you every day that we are. So apparently, our YouTube channel has gotten a lot of views. The podcast has gotten a lot of views in the last week. More than normal. Well, I mean, ridiculously more. What happens is that we typically we find that there's almost a controlling algorithm that keeps us at like 10,000 views. Now, when I first started the podcast, 60 80, a 130,000 views, and then suddenly mysteriously, almost overnight, it went down to ten. Yeah. And it's like, I could never cross ten. The podcast is seen by a lot of people elsewhere on Apple and Spotify. But on YouTube, specifically. And then suddenly, suddenly last week, it was over 200,000 and then 400,000 views. And so that's a lot. So I'm telling you that the powers that be at YouTube or slash Google are going to try to

Media Outlets Like CNN+ Conflate Fame and Popularity

"CNN plus has cratered, which is just phenomenal to see the cratering and the collapse of CNN plus, this is just another sign that what the propaganda that is being spread is not popular. And I said this a couple of years ago as we started to get into podcasting. I said, and I was only wrong on the timing, I wasn't wrong on the essence. I said to my our team Andrew, I said, I don't think people realize how fragile information consumption is about to become. Meaning, I can tell you exactly how many people are downloading our podcast. I can tell you how many people are watching our videos. I can tell you how many people are emailing us and we track those things. You see, we are always constantly Hawking the measurables. Whereas it's important to note and to realize that CNN or a lot of these other channels, they've never really been big on how many people are actually watching them or care about it. In fact, they say, oh no, the numbers are all wrong. We're fine. We're very popular. Well, if people don't want what you put on TV for free, why on earth would they give you money for it? Like cut 24. Yeah. Just went on that. They spent $300 million. They got 10,000 subscribers. Imagine the hubris of thinking that something that people don't want for free. That you're going to charge money for it. We're going to have the Jake tapper book club. Jake tapper seems like a great guy. But I mean, I feel like I don't have to pay for his book club. I feel like you should put that on Twitter. Pay for a Jake tapper book club. We're seeing the trajectory of things on the left collapse because they do not live in the world of objectivity. You see, I live in the world where I discern objective, they live in the world of the subjective, where constantly measuring how many people are downloading. How many people are listening? Where are we at in the charts? What are our ratings? CNN is like, oh, we're a multi-billion dollar machine. It makes you wonder how fragile really is the current media

CNBC: CNN+ Draws Less Than 10,000 Viewers per Day

"You ever wondered if the powers of B and CNN were out of touch with reality Their thought that people would go yes what I really want to do is actually pay to stream this product So the scene then plus streaming service that went live march 29th it has a tracked a grand worldwide audience of drum roll 10,000 people per day Yeah no kidding If you were then 10,000 people per day CNN plus that according to CNBC so with an average audience of around 700,000 daily viewers to the traditional product I mean who could have seen that coming Who could have seen that people didn't want to pay 5 99 per month or 59.99 annually to put more than their lives and the form of the streaming product And the best part is this doesn't even begin to pay Chris Wallace's contract to whom they lured over from Fox News for that launch You're kind of familiar with the question that if a tree falls in a forest and no one is around to hear it doesn't make a sound similar question could be asked of CNN plus because right now all they're doing is paying Chris Wallace and company to talk to themselves

CNN+ Struggles to Lure Viewers in Its Early Days

"You know, CNN plus has failed miserably. They have 10,000 subscribers. Why do you think that is congressman Khanna? Why is CNN plus failed? I think, you know, starting out something new is challenging. I think it's online is still not how we consume news. People still watch television, they listen to talk radio. I was always a new medium. But I think it's too early. It remains to be seen whether they'll succeed. You know, maybe they should hire you, you know? I think the reason they failed is because there's nothing for me to watch. There's absolutely no reason from anyone from the center right to go on there in the way that, for example, CNN used to have crossfire for O'Connor and U had sat down every day. We'd mix it up, but there's none of that and in fact, I think it's the last real news show. The only one I do on TV anymore. I've left NBC. I don't do meet the president anymore. Is Brett bear special report because it's the last honest news program in America. I honestly don't think we have a news media anymore. We have a political society

What's the Strategy for Ukraine Going Forward?

"Congressman, let's go back to Ukraine now. I try to be an optimist about these things. If neurons house Intel, your buddy Tom cotton is on Senate and tell you only use open-sources on the radio. Here's what I fear. I fear that everyone thinks Ukraine is much stronger than they are because they beat back the Russians in the north. And now the Russian tanks in the vast planar on mariupol are pool are positioning themselves. There are 10,000 dead bodies on the street scenario. People should put that in the context of Brooklyn yesterday, 33 wounded or incapacitated on a subway. Imagine 10,000 corpses in the city, what could we do? What should we do when the Russian tanks began to roll out of the Donbass through Mario pole destroying everything in front of them heading to keep from the other side? Well, I think our best strategy now is to provide the Ukrainians with all of the hard power requests that they have made. Now, again, as we started off this conversation, we've made progress on that front. Obviously they're using stingers and javelins to devastating effects, but there is more that we can do. There's more we can do to harness some of the offers that our Eastern European allies, NATO allies have made. And the fact

'Warp Speed' Author Paul Mango Shares His COVID Origin Theory

"This. I want everybody to read the book, but this is the question everybody still wants to know about. The origin theory. It seems pretty obvious that if you've got one of only two level four biodefense labs working for the Chinese military in the huge country of China in the city of Wuhan, where the COVID virus breaks out, that I don't know. There may be a very high likelihood of the virus being connected to the research being done at that lab. Tell us from the inside. Why they were such a resistance from people like Fauci, despite him receiving email saying, yeah, yeah, it's probably from the lab. Tell us what the debate was like on the origins of the China virus inside the task force inside The White House. Yeah, obviously Sebastian back in early of 2020. We didn't know what we know now. If we knew then what we know now, I think we'd take a different approach, but I can tell you in February of 2020, doctor Redfield sent a team from the CDC over to China to Wuhan to investigate this and he was with, I think, the World Health Organization members as well. And they wouldn't let them in the lab. Doctor Redfield was very suspicious from that point forward. And I talked to him a couple of weeks ago, and he told me something very interesting in terms of some statistics. So I think the viewers and listeners will be interested in. And that is, there were two prior similar coronaviruses. If you remember in the last 20 years SARS and nurse, SARS was 2003, mers was 2012. And both of them are what's called Zeno zoonotic events, meaning the virus came from an animal to humans. But here's what very important that they can jump species. That's right. But he said the following, he said, in the almost 20 years since SARS in ten years since mers, there have been fewer than 10,000 humans infected with those viruses. He said, on January 3rd, this is in retrospect, I was talking to him a couple of weeks ago. On January 3rd, 2020, when he called secretary azar and me, and told us we have a problem in China. He said in retrospect, we probably had more than 10,000 cases in the United States. And he said, there is no way a virus like this. Now he's one of the world's leading virologists. He said there's no way a virus like this could spread that quickly unless it was engineered somewhere along the way. Okay, I want everybody. We've

"The NASA minute. With Kevin mason. When you get to reach a certain age, you really start focusing on your health. And the things that doctor tells you to do, get more exercise. So everybody has those fitness apps on their phone on their smart wrist watches and what are they doing? Trying to get 10,000 steps in. But I read the other day a story that just made me chuckle. 10,000 steps was just made up by some Japanese marketer, because it had a nice ring to it. No doctors have ever said. You have to get 10,000 steps in. What they tell you? 1000 steps is better than no steps in 2000 is better than 1005 thousand is better. And you know the drill. The more steps you get in, the better the benefit going to be to your health. Doctors do say, really, if you can get 7000 steps in as a middle aged adult, you're doing good. Sure, go ahead and get the 10,000 steps or the 12,000 steps or even 20,000 steps. But you're not getting that additional health benefit that you think you are by getting in three or 5 or 10,000 more steps. The more you walk, the better you're going to do for your health. 10,000 steps, just a nice little round number that's a marketing folks decided was the perfect number.

India Ascends While America Descends

"But sometimes it's good to step back a little bit and try to get the larger picture, the sort of 10,000 foot view, if you will. And I'm watching a very interesting skirmish playing out on social media that raises this kind of a larger issue. So you got a guy who is called the last contrarian on Twitter and he's been posting photos of India versus the United States. Obviously, catches my interest to someone who came from India to America in the late 1970s. And this guy makes the point, he goes, listen, most westerners think of India as a kind of backward slumdog millionaire begging bowl of the world type of country. But he goes, you don't realize what India looks like now. And he posts all these pictures of how clean the airports are, how efficient and modern, the trains look, the huge skyscrapers that make even New York to some degree start looking a little bit old and run down and he then makes the point which is that India is an ascending society, and he says it's part of the ascending world, whereas America is part of the descending world. And he's implies that western as our kind of in denial that they are in the downward slope. Now, a couple of Indians weigh in on this and kind of reinforce what he's saying. And one guy says that if you compare the Indian city of kanpur, it launched a new metro rail system, which had built in two years. And he says contrast this with San Francisco, which has spent $300 million and literally decades to build a metro system and it's still not finished. So the efficiency is the point here and then this Indian guy biological srinivasan makes the point he says, you know, if you told me, even 20 years ago, that Indian cities would look better than American cities or live better. You'd be you can actually have a more livable life

You estimate that the so called Ferguson effect in just 5 cities that roll in friar the black economist we just now mentioned examined in just 5 cities because the police are pulling back cause a staggering 900 excess murders and 34,000 excess felonies that would otherwise not have occurred. Yeah. And that's just 5 cities over two years, right? But that goes back a number of years now. If you extrapolate that out forward, even in those 5 cities, it's probably quite a bit more than that. Maybe double who knows, but then when you extrapolate it around out across all the cities of the country, which have had police reductions and have vulnerable communities, you're talking about at the very lowest end, you know, two, 3000 people murdered who otherwise would be alive right now, and well, possibly well over 10,000 people, it's just it's just mind boggling just the magnitude of the damage that's been

Oh one <Speech_Male> <SpeakerChange> so. <Speech_Male> Get your list start. <Speech_Male> Whittling it down. <Speech_Male> <Speech_Male> You know if <Speech_Male> there are some surface things <Speech_Male> that don't really matter <Speech_Male> but would be <Speech_Male> nice. Maybe mark <Speech_Male> them out. Save them for <Speech_Male> later. If you've got time. <Speech_Male> But i think <Speech_Male> it's gonna be pretty clear <Speech_Male> with the big <Speech_Male> things are <Speech_Male> if <Speech_Male> you are <Speech_Male> talking <Speech_Male> to the orchestra <Speech_Male> or the band or <Speech_Male> the choir and you're staring <Speech_Male> down at your music <Speech_Male> while you're talking and people <Speech_Male> are constantly <Speech_Male> asking you to repeat <Speech_Male> yourself. <Speech_Male> That's a pretty <Speech_Male> important thing to fix. <Speech_Male> That should be at the top <Speech_Male> of your list. <Silence> I think <Speech_Male> <Speech_Male> if the if <Speech_Male> the group got <Speech_Male> from a b <Speech_Male> and things <Speech_Male> really worked <Speech_Male> pretty well. Maybe <Speech_Male> it's not perfect but they <Speech_Male> had to ask you every single <Speech_Male> time to repeat yourself. <Speech_Male> That's a <Speech_Male> critical thing to fix. <Speech_Male> And i <Speech_Male> think <SpeakerChange> <Speech_Male> <Advertisement> you <Speech_Male> <Advertisement> all should have <Speech_Male> <Advertisement> if you listen to the podcast <Speech_Male> <Advertisement> regularly or <Speech_Male> <Advertisement> you <Speech_Male> <Advertisement> have been to a workshop. <Speech_Male> You probably know <Speech_Male> the things to fix <Speech_Male> <Advertisement> if you're mirroring <Speech_Male> the entire time <Speech_Male> <Speech_Male> that's maybe like <Speech_Male> a medium. Thank <Speech_Male> there there are worse problems <Speech_Male> but there are also <Speech_Male> smaller problems <Speech_Male> so cut down this <Speech_Male> list to <Speech_Male> let's say <Speech_Male> five or ten <Speech_Male> medium <Speech_Male> things <Speech_Male> a couple of really big <Speech_Male> critical things <Speech_Male> and what you're gonna <Speech_Male> do is you're going to spend the next <Speech_Male> year working <Speech_Music_Male> on fixing those <Speech_Male> <Speech_Male> going to spend the next <Speech_Male> two years working on <Speech_Male> fixing those whatever time <Speech_Male> you decide <Speech_Male> <Speech_Music_Male> like every couple <Speech_Music_Male> months <Speech_Music_Male> every <Speech_Male> three months every quarter <Silence> <Speech_Male> and you <Speech_Male> spend your time really focusing <Speech_Male> on fixing those <Speech_Male> <Speech_Male> and in the next episode. <Speech_Male> We're going to talk <Speech_Male> about how to make those changes <Speech_Male> once you <Speech_Male> identify what you're changing <Speech_Male> how to <Speech_Male> actually make those changes <Speech_Male> on the podium. <Speech_Male> So that's your <Speech_Male> ten thousand mile checkup. <Speech_Male> Go ahead and <Speech_Male> schedule your next checkup <Speech_Male> schedule. Your <Speech_Male> next oil change <Speech_Male> for your conducting. <Speech_Male> Put it in <Speech_Male> your calendar and actually <Speech_Male> do it. <Speech_Male> Because this is how <Speech_Male> we continue to become better <Speech_Male> conductors it will <Speech_Male> revitalize <Speech_Male> your <Speech_Male> rehearsals <Speech_Male> revitalized <Speech_Male> your study as <Speech_Male> you prepare. Revitalize <Speech_Male> how <Speech_Male> you approach your orchestra <Speech_Male> <Speech_Male> if <Speech_Male> you are actively <Speech_Male> <Speech_Male> working <Speech_Male> to improve <Speech_Male> yourself <Speech_Male> as a conductor <Speech_Male> how you present yourself <Speech_Male> to the orchestra <Speech_Male> or the band or the choir <Speech_Male> or the opera or the <Speech_Male> ballet or <Speech_Male> the new music ensemble <Speech_Male> or <Speech_Male> the <Speech_Male> whatever <Speech_Male> you conduct. I don't know. <Speech_Male> I don't know what else <Speech_Male> there is. <Speech_Male> Maybe the toy orchestra <Speech_Male> <Speech_Male> <Silence> <Speech_Male> <Speech_Male>

"Send them a video and get their get their comments But you don't need an outside person to have this objective you're conducting. This is something you can do. And it's something i suggest you do. Maybe once a year once a quarter once every two years at some regular intervals that you can that you can put on the calendar. Put put your ten thousand mile checkup in the calendar and record a rehearsal. Just pick any rehearsal because this is not. We're not sending this video into contest. We're not sending this video for an application. We want an average rehearsal. And just record it record the entire damn thing if you have a camera that can last two or two and a half hours or whatever and the point is just to set aside a couple of hours and i know that's tough sometimes pick a weekend day. Pick a day when you're not doing anything. I like early sunday mornings for my reviews and just put your headphones on. Put this put this video on your computer and start watching it and look for everything. You can improve. Look as if this were a student. Look if you were your teacher. If you know that you do something write it down. Have notebook nearby. Have a legal pad nearby right down absolutely everything that you see. That's unclear. you know. Pull you out of an audition. The point is to step back and look at everything. Turn the sound off. Just watch yourself conducting turn the sound off and snap or tap. Along with the sixteenth notes will see the visual beach. You're giving is consistent in its rhythmic daisy snoring behind. We don't know if you can hear that with really cute tap sixteen ounce watches and then maybe turn the sound back on and just cover up. Use your hand. Cover up the screen. Just look at your face. look at you're doing with your face. You doing weird things with your face. This is not usually the things we think about trying to think of all those things that we don't usually think about when we are conducting which is basically everything except conducting and and some people can actually listen on the podium. But we're still working on that Look at the pacing of rehearsal. Look at the the words you use when you talk to the orchestra write these things down right down every single little thing. You can think of to improve. We're not gonna prove all of them. You'll all talk about that in a minute Coverage just one arm. Look at just what your left arm is doing. Just what your right arm is doing. Is it clear. Is it consistent. Is it what you're intending. Does it have good character. If you if somebody auditioned for you with this video what would you say about them. If somebody came to you for a lesson with this video what would you say about them and the intention is to have a big big big big old list of things that you could improve and this is the checkup part. This is the identifying everything that's crept in and go ahead and write down some good things to if you did something really well write that down. Recognize it but the point is to sit back and look at this as if our teacher looking at us for the first time in a long time as if we're going to a workshop with a great conductor that we really admired and we are wanting their input so the next step of the checkup is to actually make some of those changes and we can talk about that more in another episode..

"I have had these conducting thoughts in my head and things that i've been wanting to write and talk about for so long and i thought you know. Why don't i sit down and actually start doing them. So we're doing an experiment this month with these small short episodes of podium time the opposite of our long-form interviews. It's not two or three people that's just me going through some stuff so today. We're talking about your ten thousand mile checkup. This was a point. That came up in a recent episode. With damian crutcher. Daming was just a joy to talk to and one of the things we came to later in the episode was having ten thousand mile checkup for your conducting damian had studied. He did his masters with robert reynolds. And about but twenty years later. He did a workshop with him. And after just a couple of seconds on the podium. You know damian. I'm sure he looked great for the audience and for the band but after just a couple of seconds h robert reynolds says nope. This is not you. Let's go back to you. And that's when damien we all need we all need those reminders. Sometimes so our ten thousand mile checkup is basically. You know this is necessary when we've been out of school for a long time like we all like most of us have been. It's when we haven't had a lesson. It's when we haven't hit a workshop. It's when we've been show into the weeds of work without the space to step back and get a good look at what we're doing one of those habits looking like what's our i don't want to go into the into the nitty gritty specifics of beating. But are we clear. Things crept in for. Some reason is gonna be important thing especially if you've been in the field for a while especially if you aren't taking lessons especially if you don't have somebody more experienced than you get nanya every little bit for the things that creep in so these way the obvious way to have a ten thousand mile checkup on your conducting is to get with the teacher to go to a workshop to stand in front of an orchestra and be have some have. Have somebody be looking at you with a critical eye with the intent to improve. That's exactly what an orchestra is. Or what a what. A workshop is four or lessons bring a video into lessons. The point is to look at what you're doing with a critical eye with the intention to grow with the intention to check up on what's been happening and see where we can improve. See what we can tuneup. See where we can get. Your oil changed a little bit. What can what can we focus on. So the obvious one is going to a workshop and A lot of professional conductors are not going to be going to workshop but you could also reach out to a teacher. Reach out to somebody you trust. Reach out to a previous teacher..

That's you know like maybe they took a collection up like at eight inch diameter audit realistic vini and glue it in the middle of the hallway to the floor and covered lube. Pull the fire extinguisher and run the fuck away of the year and they videotaped the whole thing so they're videotape of mission like pull it up and pull it off their slipping and falling on the floor covered. I was unemployed for seven months seven months so everybody just went through kovin. They can appreciate that copa. Does not you know this. This whole quarantine and unemployment is not new to me. This has been my existence. I don't think people realize that. So i would go back and come back east for like you know Weddings or something like that. And you know your relatives there and they know you're an actor but you just did play as or navy. They saw you in a commercial. How's the acting thing going and you're like oh all i saw you on. Are you still doing that. No no no no and you just get like it was like if you were working. It was great because you had something to talk about. If you weren't working it was shame because everybody else has jobs. And you're like you're just you feel like a loser like you don't have any you have nothing and it was a shame. Those ten thousand. No's were shameful until i luckily created this thing rows like no no no. I'm not going to hide all this shit. I'm gonna put it front and center right in front of you baby. Yeah mother fuckers. Ten thousand knows that's a badge of honor. Fuck you because i- withstood him. And i'm still standing and there's been something philosophically sorry my allowed to swear there's something philosophically about putting it out in the light pulling it out in the light and being like yup. Yeah oh i'm a loser. Yup i am. I am a failure. Yup i am. I'm a lot of different things and that is one. Those are two things that i am at points. I fail all the time but it it was. There was a lack of shame in it that has transformed my life because all the sudden there's there's like a a different relationship to the failures. There's a actually gratitude for it because because those failures are also one. They're not really failures. I put failure in quote in quotes. Is those failures are actually miles on the road. That's all it is. It's like i did my time. Baby you can say whatever you want. I don't give a fuck. And because i've done my time i have been pummeled repeatedly over and over and over again and and i'm still standing and sometimes good sometimes. I'm not so good. I'm always striving you know. I'm never as good as i wanna be but i'm always like trying to get better. Yeah and it's like it's a little bit more. Maybe there's something of like acceptance in all of this ten thousand knows whether it's the podcast or it's the book it's kind of like yeah for better for worse. This is who i am. You know like i. I you know i. It's that's what it is. It's complicated in. Oh yeah the It's been i. I'm so proud of you for putting all this work creating his body of work and then sharing sharing what no one wants to. No one really wants to talk about. Which is what we see. Today's highlight reel of life. And you peel that back so for those. That are listening. Listen it's very very easy. Ten thousand knows dot com grabbed the.

"I told everybody. And i went to a keg party couple months later. And i'm literally eh the keg filling my and this girl comes up to me who. I kinda new. But she was. An it wasn't like wasn't someone who was close to and she goes matt del. Negro i gotta tell you i've been doing theater my whole life and i was writing for the school paper and they assigned me to go. Do this play review. And i sat in the audience and i looked through the playbill. And i saw mattdoyle negro and she was like matt negra. He's a lacrosse player. He's not an actor and she's like i didn't wanna like you and she goes look. You could use some training. You could use some technique but you were really honest up there. She's like you could do this. And and it really gives me goosebumps now gives you did. Because she didn't have to say it. And i actually didn't need her to say it but maybe on some level i did it. Was this external validation. That was like. I always remember that it was like i always think that i think that now. Like why do these things happen. I don't think they're coincidences any more. I just feel like they're like signs in the universe. If you're open and you're looking in you're you're aware of them. You get these little things that happen. That are like yeah. You're what you're doing. That might be construed as crazy. It's not quite as crazy as you think it is like you have some. There's a reason you thought this you know you're still. There's there's so many lessons in just that because the first thing that comes to mind for me it you know it. Just as a sidebar is for if you're listening right now It's amazing that you didn't know this girl when you were pumping that you had no idea who she was. But when she came and said that to you adopt about the external validation I think we as a species need to do more of that. I always tell like my family and my kids. I'm like hey when you see something great. Say something great right. It's just it's crazy that we see a beautiful play. We don't say anything. We see an amazing video and we don't make a common received like i made it a point now. Where if i see a like there's a great email to someone wrote and i got i reply and i'm like he thought was a really great email and you see someone in their element. Elementary like man. I loved seeing you in your element and i think a lot of times people are. You're following their dreams are trying to find the flow and even third party that you don't even know if this reporter gave you a i think she she shaped she saved your confidence that day. Which was yes she was. I mean i did it just to be clear. I did know her. But i knew peripherally and we didn't. We knew maybe we were in class together. We didn't know each other well. But i knew who she was. She knew who i was. But she was like whoa. This is way out of context right and then validated even going in with with a chip on her shoulder about it she did. Yeah i i agree with you. I i've always i. I actually think that's kind of the cornerstone of my podcast. And of the book is on basically going like. Hey you.

"That and i was visiting my dad. And my dad's like what are you watching. I'm like dad. This is paul fishing's zico. Twenty-five seventeen eagles used quoting scripture and like not just scripture king james the path of the righteous man is beset on all sides by the inequities of the selfish and the tyranny of evil men. Blessed is he in the name of charity and people shippers the wheat to the value darkness. Like i have this completely memorized dude. It's insane and so weird when an indian guy is citing you know king. James version of ezekiel thousand. But but this takes me to. I'm so so yes that was the first time you on stage is the first time addition. But when did you realize that being an actor could be for you. The first traces of me. Yeah the first trees has really of this being a thing Were it was when i was in college. I play lacrosse boston college and so i. I always wanted to go abroad to study. But most people did that. The spring of junior year and i always thought there was some upperclassmen that went to australia and they had visions of beaches. And you know australia as like that. Sounds cool nothing to do with academics. And i'm just thinking beaches beautiful letter. And then i realized while i can't go spring of junior year because that's when the lacrosse season is so instead i went between sophomore and junior year to italy. Which one hundred percent italian. So i went there. was going out with a girl also from bc and she was ended up going to italy to study in florence. I was in this town peja so we were like two hours away from each other. Long story short. My sister gave me a journal. Before i went and i looked. I still have that journal. I look back in the first couple of entries really like those obligatory like today. I went to the piazza kind of thing. It was a really md. we're over there. I go to meet up with the girl and one thing leads to another basically break up. She breaks up with me. I kinda get honest about some of our differences. And she's like. That's who i am done and i it's funny because i wouldn't say it was her per se. It was more where. I was in my life that i kind of felt like it just spun me to the point where i had this journal and the journal became my lifeline and i had a bunch of stuff that i had pushed down. Push down push down for years. And i had kind of created this in a way i had created a persona at boston college as playing lacrosse division. One lacrosse back then..

"Well I already mentioned at Nanga. Parbat the killer mountain in Pakistan. Seeing mountains were unbelievable. I also have the chance to take a small airplane ride over Mount Everest out of Kathmandu. That was by far one of the most incredible things I've seen more recently. When I went to Indonesian I went to a small area Coral Triangle called on pot. And I was diving there for ten days and I found myself in the middle of this big basketball school of fish and for some reason the only scuba diver in the middle of this and I was actually crying in my masks because it was so beautiful. The corless like you've it looked like a cartoon like the how they draw the colors of curling cartoons. Just look exactly like that in Indonesia and one more. If I had to choose I would say that being able to see the Hieroglyphics obelisks and the Pyramids in Egypt. Like especially like the less touristy Egypt's are less touristy pyramids than Giza like out in Sikora Being able to climb inside of five thousand year-old human creation By yourself the heat you're dripping sweat. You can see the smoke on the on the ceiling from when they were laying the pharaohs tunes is the most surreal experience as well excellent lest great that you share that beyond that when you are traveling. Do you have a specific inspiration or raison d'etre to be each Monday these countries in other words? When you go visit the country as you go to the museum you've got to check at the UNESCO World Heritage it's Some sort of extreme sport or it's the nature of the wildlife. Jeffey must do when you visit each country. Yeah well the. The situation changes a bit by region. But my favorite thing to do whenever I get to country is to get as far away from the capital city. As I can with time that I have I feel that you really get to see all of the unique aspects of culture when you get a little bit away from the more developed US cities and I'm also a nature lover. I'm most happy when I'm doing something active outdoors so I like to find the the adrenaline activities that heights the dives all of that and just being able to connect with the natural environment in the countries that I visit. Can you give us an example? One of those active extreme experiences that you had that was awesome well other than the climbing into the angel falls in the DIC Really enjoy Switzerland for the active activities in interlocking that they call it like a like the Mecca for paragliding. So when paragliding for the first time they're a bungee jumping off the third highest waterfall when River Rafting River. Diving hiked more than ever hyped in my entire life in the Over over steam region. It's the waterfalls. My favorite place at ever stayed was in Lia in the Swiss Alps Really bad with the the German names but it's also known as the cliffhanging hostile so you take a cable car to the top of this mountain and then you hike with all of your stuff through like ancient caves up to this This hostile that's literally hanging off. The side of the Alps said the inside of the hostile wall against the mountain is open mountain face. It was unbelievable. I'll put it on the list. Challenges are just doing some reading. I learned that you had a extreme bad food. Sickness incident in you. Also ahead malaria How did you get more area? I was a bit ignorant I went to at I spent the summer two thousand eighteen traveling Africa. I think I was there for somewhere around three months. And they always say you should take these malaria pills and the ones that always give me really bad nightmares There's no way that I could have nightmares for three months straight and also pack. That many pills. I just didn't really could as much importance on it as I probably should house but I think that I was bit. I got ravaged Attacked by bugs at night Like mosquitoes and some spider by it's on my face that made my face like glow up like my lips. Were like three times four times. The size usually are in Senegal started thinking Started in Senegal in then by the time I made it to average on in the ivory. Coast I had to cancel my flights might clams and just lay in a hot bedroom. Some random hotel there into decided to head to the hospital and they speak French bear. Only exclusively French couldn't find was soul of a person that sparking But found a taxi driver who kind of understood what I needed to hospital. It was where within likes five minutes of walking in the hospital. They were like drawing my blood all of this and then they gave me a prescription for the dose for. Malaria is just three times. The malaria medication that you would usually date so it felt like. I had the flu for like a week. Which is the area of the world really want to have the flu but I? It went away relatively quickly. Apparently I'm more susceptible to getting it again now. But we'll see you with your by yourself or with others during the trip during the Thankfully I was with my dad because if I had been alone. I don't even know what I would have done. That would have been the worst travel nightmare ever and I do really love Solo travel but I enjoy travel the most when I get to share it with people that I care about the most so I had to try to talk my friends and family into coming.
