"Guardians of the Galaxy volume three continues its reign at the box office. Incinerator. Some insiders had questioned if there would be superhero fatigue. But Guardians of the Galaxy volume three brought in another 60 and a half $1 million at North American theaters. "Go now to Joe Biden's White House speech? I wish you would. We're going to the president is in complete control of the border. There is no open border and he's not worried at all. He gave a speech at The White House yesterday, cut number 7. I declared the entire U.S. article off limits to new oil and gas development period. We ran the process and protect more than 13 millionaire, 13 million acres of significant natural historic value in the Alaskan national petroleum reserve. And I protected the boundary waters of canoe area, wilderness, surrounding wetlands in Minnesota. Look, that's the most serialized we are we have energy inflation. We have energy inflation and the president is bragging on shutting down oil production in Alaska. And we want electric cars for which we need rare earth minerals not from China or dug up by ten year old boys in the Congo. And that actually is in the boundary waters. Tidal basin. It's in the watershed of the boundary waters. It's not inside the park. And he won't let Minnesota twin mining or twin mines, I believe it's called. They won't let them dig. So

"All the talk show hosts in America are jealous of you because you get some of the biggest names you make headlines all the time. Of course, the cats at night every week on ABC radio. You've got the cats roundtable. I mean, you become a broadcast personality in your own right. Did you just sit around and decide, hey, I listen all this time, I can do it as well as anybody else can. Well, mutual friend, Jerry Crowley, after I ran for mayor in 2013. Jerry has dinner with me and says, John, a lot of people like you that want to hear you. You made a lot of good points when you're running for mayor. You should have your own radio show. So Jerry, put me on 9 70 in New York. And you know, you know, Jerry, nobody could say no to Jerry. I said, okay, I'll do an hour. Then it's two hours. Then it's three hours. That is four hours. And it didn't stop. And then the only time, the only time I yelled, he only time I yelled at Jerry, was the fact when W OR was sold and Jerry used to work that. And I said, Gary, why didn't you tell me either me or Mike blumberg with a boy? 'cause like one brother was on WOR all the time. Right. And it was so for $30 million. And he says, they never told me either. When WABC came along for Nichols and dimes, like 12 million, $13 million. Right. I didn't even do any due diligence. AP sources: Biden OKs huge Willow oil project in Alaska

"An oil drilling plan for Alaska's north slope is getting the stamp of approval from the Biden administration. Environmentalists are expressing disappointment with President Biden's decision to greenlight Alaska's north slope willow development project, sources say the plan would allow three drill sites for about 219 wells in total, oil company ConocoPhillips says it could produce up to a 180,000 barrels of oil a day and 300 long-term jobs, the stop willow campaign had been gaining traction on social media gathering more than 300 million views on TikTok, but the development enjoys widespread support in the state, and on March 3rd, while some indigenous alaskans were protesting outside The White House, the state's congressional delegation met with Biden to argue in favor of the project. Separately The White House announced that nearly 3 million acres of the Beaufort sea would be closed off from oil exploration and drilling would be limited to protect wildlife in more than 13 million acres in the national petroleum reserve. "Of power that corporations have to be able to choose what you hear is disturbing and it's somewhat of a new phenomenon. AT&T AKA direct TV has been for years going and more and more in the woke direction. And I love watching newsmax. I know so many of you agree. They do such a great job and actually I watch them when I work out and I watch them on AT&T, my condo association provides DirecTV for all of us now because of their decision that's going to be put in jeopardy and not be able to happen. So joining us now is the CEO of newsmax does a fabulous job Chris ruddy to talk about this very urgent issue with a specific action item for our audience. Chris, welcome to the program. Well, Charlie, thank you for having me on. I think you do a fabulous job when you do a really incredible work. The media with young people and spreading the message. Well, thank you. So Chris, the floor is yours, tell our audience what's going on. Well, a lot's going on. I think a lot of people know that newsmax was censored by AT&T DirecTV. AT&T owns direct TV. They own 70% of it. And we were removed from all their signals on January 24th, 13 million homes couldn't get newsmax anymore, at least for the moment. Charlie, you know, this really starts in 21 Nancy Pelosi gets control of the House, her democratic minions send a letter to AT&T and other cable operators and say, take one America channel on newsmax and Fox News off their spreading disinformation. They send this two page letter, they hold hearings, AT&T complies. We know they remove the one American channel last year. It was a popular channel. And they removed it. They said it was cost cutting.

Yeah, and more specifically, anyone who wants to help Donald Trump become president. And their goal here is to absolutely shut him off, stretch it must have been stopping from reaching the American people. And it's outrageous. There are 13 million people that could not see these rallies last weekend in New Hampshire and South Carolina that were just incredible. They were wonderful. "Thanks for being here. Great to see zoo. Jonathan can you tell us about the timeline going forward now. That pfizer has submitted to the fda approval. How soon could it be before we see these going out to market. It could just be a couple of weeks actually or at least a matter of weeks. We're talking between halloween and thanksgiving so you know there's this whole process that companies have to go through to their drugs and vaccines cleared by the regulator. So that people can start taking them. And we've seen this before with All the coverted vaccine's that have hit the market and that we're getting in our arms pfizer. Today filed the formal request with the food and drug administration tick have that vaccine authorized for five to eleven year olds. What's next up. Is the fda staffer going to review that application. And what they do is they go into the data from the clinical trial and actually take a look at it and see if it supports as the company says it does that. The vaccine works safely and five to eleven year olds and then the fda staff will send the data to a group of outside experts people who are at the top of their fields in vaccines and other health areas and the experts will review what the fda staff found and then give a recommendation to the agency about what it should do. For instance should authorize the vaccine for five to eleven year olds and then after all that is said and done than the fda actually issues their own decision. Let's talk about the risk of cova. Had four kids we did see during the delta variant that the number of hospitalizations for children went up. Can you tell us a little bit more. About the overall risks at this stage in the pandemic the risks for severe kovin and kids is relatively low which is great news. It's not as high as it is in the elderly for instance who are really vulnerable especially vulnerable to severe disease if they get infected. But that's not all we should be looking at according to public health and health experts because kids even if they have a mild case of did they can still transmit it to other kids to adults to grandparents family members and from a public health perspective. That's a real problem especially with kids going back. To and so the reasons why doctors and other health authorities argue for kids getting vaccinated is not only to protect the kids themselves but to protect their loved ones in the communities around them but all that said the relative risk for the kids of a severe case of covert is low. Now this is really good news for a lot of parents who have been waiting for vaccine for their kids. What are you hearing from them about the risk assessments. They're making over whether to get their children inoculated or not and what their major concerns are right now. I think it's looking a lot like what has looked like for adults who were trying to decide whether to get vaccinated themselves so we know we don't know exactly what people are going to do but there's been some surveys out there and it's found that a third appearance are gonna jump on the opportunity to get their young kids vaccinated as soon as as they can but there's a much larger percentage of parents who aren't going to do it immediately a chunk of those or parents who want to wait and see. They're just a little bit hesitant concerned about safety for understandable reasons and just want to sit back and wait and see how things are looking before they get their kids vaccinated and then there's a group of parents who don't want to get their kids vaccinated at all. What else have we learned about. Potential side effects. So one of the issues that we've seen arise with the messenger. Ernie vaccine's like pfizer's is this rare but still significant risk of unin flaming tori heart condition. Called myocarditis. usually the doesn't happen and when it does it resolves fairly quickly but in some cases it can be serious. And we've seen it more in people with younger ages and especially in younger males and Just today norway Restricted use of the modern of vaccine. Which is a messenger. Aren a vaccine to certain age groups because of myocarditis now. The pfizer study assessing. Its vaccine in the five to eleven year olds. Didn't have any cases of myocarditis so the risk is probably low based on the study results. But we know that studies aren't comprehensive and that they don't necessarily tell us what's going to happen in the real world because studies are conducted under specific conditions. And it's only a certain number of people so if we have a rare event like myocarditis it might not get picked up in a study of. Just a few thousand people we've seen a patchwork of school policies. When it comes to masking and vaccine guidance how might approval of a vaccine for younger kids potentially influence those conversations. Might we potentially see more vaccine requirements in schools. I think one of the things we have to keep an eye on is how schools process the authorization of vaccine in five to eleven year olds. Remember we've already seen the pfizer bio and tech vaccine authorized for twelve to eighteen year old. So there's a lot of kids in school have already gotten. I think one of the issues is whether the vaccine is authorized which is technically one thing or whether it's approved which is another all these vaccines because we're in a pandemic and we want to get them to people as quickly as we can have been authorized by the fda. That's a faster speedier review than the full approval that vaccines and drugs. Normally get from the fda now the fda says that they are applying the same high standards that they use to assess drugs and vaccines for an approval to the authorization process. But legally. it's different and it might be that a lot of schools are going to hold off before making a decision on whether they're going to require a vaccine for kids for an actual approval from the fda rather than authorization that's wall street journal health business editor. Jonathan rockoff jonathan. Thanks so much for joining me today. Exemplary and finally during the pandemic.

"Retirement each and every week and each and every week we give radio listeners an opportunity at a no cost or obligation consultation with Ken Reeves. So listen up for that. It's coming up here shortly. Homewood is our next stop. Rachel is there. Here's the question. My husband is going to retire next year at age 67. I'm planning to retire the following year at age 65. What should we be doing differently with our investments? As we get ready to retire? We have approximately 1.3 million to 41 K. I guess combined for one case, they're the 1.3 million As well as about 20,000 in a Roth IRA. So hi, Rachel. You certainly need to have your current assets in a more conservative investment. At this point, a market turned down can destroy your current savings. Keep in mind the following throughout history. The average bear market occurs about every five years, with exception of this very long bull market that we've had. We've been extremely blessed and over the years, but we all know this is going to come to an end. Eventually, one day at least for a period of time. The average decline in the market is 39%. That is massive. So just think what that 39% could do to that 1.3. You know, million dollars in savings, the average duration that the markets down is 1.5 years. Pretty long time especially, you know, for those guys that are getting close to retirement. The average break even point is 5.2 years. You know, all retirees, Morgan need to ask herself, you know, Listen, if this market goes down those averages, so these are just not made up number. These are historical numbers Can I afford And do I have 5.5 years just to get back to even so example if you lost 20% With this year. You would need to get gain 25% back just to get back to even folks. There's so much that goes into retirement planning, and just having a grasp of the bigger picture is is a great first step retirement. "This Tuesday is the last day to cast a ballot and recall proponents are hoping for a big in person. Election Day push. For more on the final days of the recall, will speak to Melanie Mason, national political correspondent at the L A times since we have people already returning their ballots. I mean, it's kind of more of a recall months in a recall election day, that sort of offers a couple of tea leaves that we can look to get a read of how we think that this race is going to shake out. And so I think the first thing is that we are seeing ballots coming in. And what we're seeing a Democrats having a commanding advantage in the ballots that have already been returned. Some of that is to be expected. We expect Republicans are more likely to be returning their ballot, either in person or voting in person on the 14th. So we expecting to even out a little bit, But really, for those who wanted to see Gavin Newsom recalls. What they need to see was a relatively low turnout election. The fact that we are seeing this lead among Democrats and returning their ballots means that that's almost certainly not going to be the case. Going to be a high turnout of election and in a state like California, which overwhelmingly tilt blue and Democrats have five million voter registration advantage. A high turnout election is good news for Governor Newsom. An interesting number that you put in the article one of the people you spoke to predicted that Democrats will need about 1.3 million ballot cushion going into election day to, you know, offset anybody that's going to be voting on this on the day and turning in their ballots pretty late. Currently, they have about 1.84 million ballots returned more than Republicans. That's a pretty decent number to be looking at right there. I think that if you are Gavin Newsom, campaign manager, you're very happy to have that cushion. I think one of the caveats that we should mention is that we know sort of the party affiliation of the ballots that are being returned, But we don't actually know how individuals voted right. So there is a possibility that Democrats have decided that they're fed up with Gavin Newsom. They're interested in trying something new and that they're voting. Yes, on question one on the question of if he should be recalled, But I think that what we've seen from calling throughout the state really consistently throughout the year, there hasn't necessarily been a huge Appetite among Democrats to recall Gavin Newsom nuisance problem. In the middle of the summer, when things looked a little dicey for him was the Democrats just weren't really engaged at all. And so unless we see sort of large scale defections of Democrats from Gavin Newsom, I think the fact that we are seeing Democrats have this cushion when it comes to about returns so far likely, but not definitely means good news for the governor..

"Were serving 1.3 million families. Across the country were managing $270 billion in essence, been doing this for 36 years. Let me please retort to these objections and obstacles that people are citing frankly, nothing more than excuses. As to why people say they're not getting a financial plan. You don't think you have enough money for a financial plan. Let me remind you what the purpose of the financial plan is. The reason you create a financial plan is to give you a path for creating wealth. In other words, the less money you have. The more important it is that you have a financial plan. Mean, feline musk. Jeff Bezos, Bill Gates. Warren Buffett. I really don't think it matters. If they have a financial plan, their wealthy they're fine. But if you're living paycheck to paycheck if you don't have a lot of money in savings if you aren't contributing the maximum to your retirement plan, it work If you don't even have a retirement plan, it work. Well, how are you going to create wealth? Getting a financial plan shows you the way. So instead of saying, I don't have enough money to bother with a plan, the less money you have, The more important it is that you get one, and does it seem too complicated. Well, that's what I'm here for. And all of us here, it element, financial engines and every financial planner in this country. That's our job. You don't have to worry about the complication, the complexity the fact that you don't have a lot of skills, education, training or experience in any of this. That's not your job. That's our job. You only need to be an expert on one thing. You and you are an expert. You know how much income you have? You know how much money you spend? You know what you have in debt. And most importantly, you know what? Your aspirations are. You know what your hopes and dreams are. All you've got to do is share that info with us will do the rest. It's like going to the doctor. You don't have to go to medical school in order to go toe of Dr You just say, Doc. It hurts when I go like this, and the Doc will tell you what to do about that. You don't have enough time. You'd be amazed how simple and easy it is to do this. The burden of work is on the planner. Not you. That's a simple excuse that isn't valid. And is it probably too expensive? This is perhaps my favorite objection. Too expensive. Remember, our goal is to help you achieve wealth. Those who have a planner, according to the survey, or achieving greater wealth than those who don't have a plan, So hey, charge me whatever you want, If you're going to help me become wealthy, and I think you'll discover that the fees the financial planners charge is an awful lot less than you're probably thinking that it is because if the fee was high, nobody would pay it. We wouldn't exist. Remember, our goal is to help you become wealthy, And that means we need to help. Make sure that we keep your costs low because the lower the costs The greater your ability to create wealth. No, you're putting it off. I know you're procrastinating, Please.
