Masters Closing Gap With Kelly in Senate Race
"Well, Blake, I know that your opponent who apparently was an astronaut. I may have heard that once or twice. Mark Kelly, is besides being a 96% of the time Joe Biden supporting a senator. He also had some like what was it $80 million to use against you? That's right. Well, they've spent 80 million already. As best we can tell about 30 million of that has just been attacking me lying about me trying to vilify me. The other 50 million apparently is just going to prop him up and lie about his record. You know, this guy votes just like Bernie Sanders in the United States Senate to the left of Bernie, actually. But then come election time, red campaign Kelly. He campaigns as a moderate. He's an independent, always pretending to be John McCain up there. You know, he's a rubber stamp for Joe Biden's agenda, and the only chance that Democrats have to even come close to winning this election is just to lie. They've got a lot of money to do it. I just don't think it will work out for her. Well,

'You're a Disgrace': Police Dispatcher Takes Aim at Mayor Lori Lightfoot
"There is a Chicago police ditch. This dispatcher excuse me. His name is Keith Thornton, not happy with Lori Lightfoot, who just last year transferred what was it about $80 million, $100 million, forget what it was. Out of the police budget for youth programs. And now, Lori Lightfoot wants to be tough on crime. Now she sounds like dirty Harry. Keith Thornton, Chicago, police dispatcher, not amused. It's a complete disaster. It's smoke and mirrors, guys. Smoke and mirrors. And I'm hot about it. Because this mayor does not care about Chicago police officers period. She doesn't care about any first responders. She doesn't care about the damn city. Doesn't matter if you're white, black, Asian, Hispanic, other, straight, gay, Democrat, or Republican. She don't even care about her city workers. All that lady cares about is a self. And I pray you're watching this. Because you're a disgrace. And I'm tired of it. And your city is tired of it. As a matter of fact, it's not your city. The city of Chicago is tired of it. And I know you don't like me. And that's okay. Because I love you. But I'm tired of you. 'cause you're an absolute disgrace to everyone within the city. She's taken away resources and manpower and saying you. You and your constituents. I'm not giving you the officers up there. Make them split them and make them 99 cars to go by themselves. And if something happens all going to news, several days later and act like I gave a and say, I'm sorry for the loss to this suction such family.

Lots of money has been spent all leading up to this night with the final endorsement coming from President Biden. You know, as we as we're standing here, the protesters are already starting to flood the streets. These are these are vaccine protesters. Well, no, it's the array. I've already spoken to a bunch of them. It's not just the anti-vaxxers. But you also have people that are tired of the tyranny as they would put it that they think that you know the businesses were closed down and and many. I spoke to one woman that said she had a 40 year business and she lost it because because of the shutdowns during the business during during the pandemic thing is all right. Let's just take that woman. She's got a legitimate viewpoint. To have 40 year business. Newsome closes it and didn't have to, but she's ruined and he goes on. He can raise $80 million and run around saying he's great, and that's not been discussed in the media. That's not been Going to be discussed on stage tonight by either one of the candidates. Right. That's what makes that's what makes me crazy about this. They live in this weird artificial bubble where they have this reality. It's like I'm great. I did great. Yeah, Gavin, you did great. You're great. And this woman Still lost her 40 year business. She still had, uh, go on. "Right now, some of the mandate some of the Proposals he's making for quote unquote combating covid 19. He started speaking just a few minutes ago. So let's join this here that has to say about mandates and other things. Locations. We still have nearly 80 million Americans who have failed to get the shot. To make matters worse, their elected officials actively working to undermine the fight against Covid 19, instead of encouraging people to get vaccinated, a mask up there ordering mobile morgues. For the unvaccinated dying from covid in their communities. This is totally unacceptable. Third. You wonder how all this adds up? Here's the math. The vast majority of Americans are doing the right thing. Nearly three quarters of the eligible have gotten at least one shot. But one quarter has not gotten any. That's nearly 80 million Americans not vaccinated and the country as large as ours. That's 25% would minority that 25% can cause a lot of damage and they are The unvaccinated overcrowd. Our hospitals are overrunning emergency rooms and intensive care units, leaving no room for someone with a heart attack or pancreatitis or cancer. And fourth. I want to emphasize that the vaccines provide very strong production from severe illness from Covid 19. I know there's a lot of confusion and misinformation,.

"Of the three forward by now, counting the booster that he's got out there to deal with Covid. And he's not leaving it up to us. He's saying that this is the government insisting and requiring you to get your shot or lose your job. When he doesn't say that, but it's in the script. It's in the print. He has no way of making us take the shot. He's not going to tie people down. Inject them. He is saying to employers. You require your employees to get take the shot. And if they don't you fire them. The price is their jobs, their livelihoods, and it's about 80 million people that have not had their shot and he is literally going to endanger the jobs, the livelihoods, the homes, the families of 80 million of his own constituents who elected him and he's going to use that power to absolutely Destroy them if they don't get the shot. And the logic and the stupidity of what he's proposing was evident in the speech he gave last week he had the following line in that speech. We have to We have to protect the vaccinated from the unvaccinated. Got that. We have to protect the vaccinated from the unvaccinated testing. This moron realized that if you're vaccinated, your immune you don't need protection. You're fine. And if you're not, what's the point of making everyone get a shot? What's the point of throwing matter? Work if they don't if they shot is so unreliable, But the evidence is the shot is reliable. And that if you get it, you're not going to get covid. So no matter what an unvaccinated person does breathes on you spit on you Shares shares a slice of shares a sandwich with you. You're not going to get covid because he got a shot. So how does requiring someone who is not vaccinated to get a shot? Protect someone who is vaccinated. Who's had the shot? It doesn't happen. It's not real. It's not. Even vaguely correct. It's a logical impossibility. So he's running around the country, making sure that everybody gets a shop and, uh, the intrusiveness of that is unbelievable. What if you're pregnant? What if you are allergic? What if you are allergic to vaccines? What if you have another medical condition that should interfere with that? Uh, all kinds of stuff and the one size fits all demand that you have to get this shot or lose. Your job is unbelievable. It's a level of intrusiveness into a society that is completely un American. Completely Contrary to what we should be as a people Now listen. If everybody needed to be vaccinated for anybody to be safe, then I would want everybody to be required to be vaccinated, like with smallpox. But that isn't the case. The case is that if only a portion of us, uh, vaccinated first of all, the ones who aren't vaccinated have some protection. But secondly, it's up to them. They're not in danger. The ones who've been vaccinated and not endangered, They're safe. So you have you have an option? You will protect yourself or you don't. If you choose not to. It's not the government's business to make you do it. There were plenty of other diseases. We don't we don't we don't put people in jail and cost them their jobs, the smoking a cigarette and do we? We don't even do it for using hard drugs. Uh, we don't do it for overeating. We don't do it for all kinds of conduct that in dangerous people. Why are we saying that if you get that if you get this virus because you haven't had a shot, or if you haven't had a shot, we're going to fire you from your job. That important that you get that shot. Uh, it's absurd. It's horrible and American, not constitutional. I'm sure the court's going after already out and and totally illogical. No. On a political level. This brings to mind a facet of Biden that I think is very important. The arrogance of the man. The his language. He got up there and he gave a speech. And he said, My patience is wearing then Hitler used to say My patience is not being exhausted, Ble I have to kiss Chamberlain to scare the hell out of him. And here he gets up. He says, my patients who the hell are you to have a lack of patience with me. All right, you work for me. I elected you. I pay your salary. Who are you to come around and tell me your patience is in its not is wearing thin and then to tell me have some decency have some decency. How is my getting a shot getting help people that already have gotten a shot. It's not and terms of other people. Today of elizabeth debakey is princess diana and dominic west as prince charles. We've got some thoughts you go. Well actually. I wanted to ask you a question. Okay here's my thoughts dickey as diana is just like per year really on it. It's it's it's it's quite something. I'm part of the debakey high which is a passionate fan base but like i could see myself joining. Yeah i mean this is really really spot on. Its notable that the kristen stewart princess. Diana bio-pic announced. Its released eight for this fall on the same day that these are released. I mean i didn't even see that news at did you know me but the directing that someone i care about all right all right yeah cool. It'll be interesting but just everyone's really cashing in right now. She looks great. I thought dominic west looks like a guy in prince charles thing but some friends were discussing the new photos this morning and raise the discussion point that i wanted to throw it again. Which is is dominic west too hot to be playing prince charles one hundred percent so you. You're on this train more. He's to haji play dominic west but playing prince charles but also like the age jump from josh o'connor zoo dominic is really jarring. It's kind of similar with but like it's less so but like dominic west has been around in my consciousness for so long. I mean i know for most people. It's mcnulty on the wire but like for me. It's it's Santa boyfriend in twenty eight days. Oh i thought you were going to say the intense affair that you had with the show the affair of course that too. I mean wonderful character but like he's just been in my film life for a long time. Yeah and so. That's weird but yeah he's way too hot. Like part of the reason. My josh or connor was perfect. Was because he such a good actor that you felt some sympathy for charles especially in this most recent season but he inhabited the physical awkwardness of charles perfectly with the way the his head the way that he wore the double-breasted blazers he captured the sort of Dowdy -ness of this very rich and famous man in a way that dominic west absolutely cannot. Because he's so handsome. And i think it's actually like a really important part of the presentation of the royal family. Is that the are really doughty and so to go for like such a conventionally dashing actor for this role is bizarre. I'm gonna take a counterpoint here. Okay here's what i have to say. Call me old fashioned. I really do not mind shows movies casting attractive. People i just. I'm sorry i just feel i. I look the way that. I look at world that i live in. Not all of us are motto is not all of are camilla. What's her name just on instagram and getting dmz dating him. And that's okay. But i just. I'm never going to be bad if it's like a slightly person. I'm sorry i'm just not i. I don't know what to say. Additionally i do think that at this point in the dominic west consciousness and specifically the types of roles that he has played for twenty thirty years now which are always some charming dip. Shit yeah just and absolutely ultimately untrustworthy person. It's great. I love it. He's bringing that to prince charles. I think that that is makes up for the fact that maybe he wears the suits well so respectfully he's older so it's it's okay. Yeah it's just the age stuff is more jarring to me than anything else. The age jump between seasons two and three was pretty jarring especially when it's supposed to be a year clarify to olivia vehicle beds show and we love both of those people but it just kind of like time works differently in the way that they're doing this so i guess i'll give them the credit or whatever i will also dismiss josh o'connor a lot we too i love him. He's wonderful but on the flip side. It's sort of time to time to move on. Yeah well and it's time to stop having sympathy for charles at least for a decade so the dominic west casting makes that easier. This isn't just also like my own real bias. But under sort of like part of the story is like charles being like a lame loser in like just treating diana poorly and i. I don't know like. I don't think the though i dominic west is like actually like fair is a dynamic actor. I just like his handsomeness really cloud so much other stuff about him. Okay on this note as you watch pursuit of love. I so i'm one episode. I watched two. Okay i i like it i i like it a lot i sued. The pursuit of love is adaptation of a. Nancy met for novel and the nancy met for novel. Which is like a bestseller is like sort of not quite like a ramana cleft but saturday's asian of the mitford clans. And i would say that. The pursuit of love direct written and directed by emily available on amazon prime in the us. Anyway has almost nothing to do with it. It's mitford novel. But that's okay. Because i think it's really well executed. I mean there's a lot of westerners ads in it but it looks really nice. I enjoy watching it and was sort of like. Wow emily waterberg good for you. There's intentional anachronisms that don't really work for me. That really take me out of it. But i feel like there are a lot of intentional. Anachronisms are around the hot priest. Who's also in this. And i feel like when you got the hot priest you sort of like need to amplify his presence so i don't blame them. I understand. i liked that. She's trying things within it. Yeah cool just make another like bbc show exactly or a tv show. So i can forgive the fact that it is not really does not have a lot to do with this deal. But that's okay. I would say. We are in touch with a range of entities who are part of those discussions. Saudi Arabia, the U. S, A and and others, and we want to make sure we're doing everything we can to keep the price of gas low. That's why the president. Also a red line for him was no gas taxes for the American people in these infrastructure negotiations, but The OPEC discussions happening on the international level are going to have an impact, and we're engaged in actors who are involved in those discussions as we speak. Well, usually, If you have a discussion like this, you need to have some leverage. We have no leverage. They have no leverage. The first thing he did when he got into office was to shut down oil production in this country. And so if you're running OPEC, you say, Well, uh, well, what are you going to do, right? You already aren't producing the oil like you were. So what? Well, and we had. I mean, we were getting there with fracking. Uh, you know, and there is environmental problems. The fracking that you know, need to be debated and looked at, but but we were getting closer to independence. The lawsuit by the way out of North Dakota, which we just talked about the details in it. They are the nation's second largest oil and gas producer. North Dakota is more than $80 million in lease sales. That's what it's going to cost North Dakota $80 million and it could balloon to billions in lost revenue. If the Bureau of Land Management does not begin holding lease sales again, So they stand to lose, you know, you know, tens of millions of dollars and potentially billions of dollars have lost revenue. In North Dakota alone. Now, you couple that with the fact that the administration has zero leverage at the OPEC negotiation table, no. And what That means, for all of us is this We are now beholden to a foreign country for our oil. And our prices could very well skyrocket in California above five bucks a gallon In some places, it's possible and beholden again. I mean, we have been for a long time, and then we started expanding oil production in this country. But, you know, I mean, there are people who would say Okay, we're shutting oil production down for the greater good. Of environmental concerns and trying to reach this green initiative. So we pay more and great. Let's head in that direction, and there's nothing wrong with cleaner burning fuels that we all want that right, But this was such a draconian quick. Decision with there was there's There's no bridge, right? Right? It went from you have a job to know you can get retrained for a green job, right? I mean, we need to head in that direction. Nobody is arguing that we we have to go in that direction. Fossil fuels are a thing of the past. At some point in time we got we have to get there as quickly as possible. And we are. Look at the look at the sales of electric cars in this country are off the chart, and you have, like, really high end. It's not just I mean Tesla and a couple of automakers. Everyone's got a new E car, but from a monetary fiscal negotiating standpoint, we have now put ourselves in a predicament. We're backed into a corner. We have no leverage with OPEC. Hackers Breach 150,000 Surveillance Cameras: But How?
"Radio. All right, so we were all over this story yesterday when it broke. It was about the hacker group that says it wanted to show how much surveillance is out there in our world and how easy it was to breach it. Great reporting and itwas a Bloomberg Exclusive. It was William Certain is the one who brought it to all of us. And to all of you, he cybersecurity Porter at Bloomberg News joining us on the phone from New York City, William I'm still reeling from reading this story because it's terrifying and in so many different ways. What did this group of hackers do? Well, thanks for having me so they owned as hackers say they have this company in the worst possible way. They got into an account at this. This Security camera company Club Kolkata that allows them to look through the camera of all of its customers, and not only that they could look at the cameras live on day could also look at the archives of the videos that those customers had stored. From those cameras and in some cases of cameras were using facial recognition technology, which the hackers could also interact with. How is that so easy? Well, uh, you know, it's obviously there's multiple investigations going on at the company right now. T answer that question. But, you know, they got in through exposed credentials. So you know a user name and password for so called super admin account. I've been left out there publicly on the Internet. Um you know, it's sloppy. It's bad security practice on DATs how it happened. What do we know about about the group that that did this? Who is Tilly Cotman. Well. Kelly Cotman is a 21 year old with citizen who could've packed with an anti capitalist anti surveillance when he won world view. Um and you know they seek to kind of China light on on what they see is a abuse of technology. And then capitalism gone too far. I mean, that's what this is about, right? Shedding a light to say. Hey, folks, I don't know if you're aware of it. You've all gotten so used to having cameras all around you like we all have a camera on our phone. But did you realize what that really means? Right, and another aspect of this that really isn't being discussed. Much is like these hackers could have done something much worse. They could have sat in this system for a long time and lost it all this confidential video. They could have, you know, utilized the cameras to launch other hats in the future. They could have tried to hack the networks of Ricardo's, uh, customers. But they didn't do that. They came to a journalist and they blew the whistle. Silver Kata, the company at the center of this It's a startup that was founded back in 2016 itself, Security cameras that customers can access through the Web. Obviously, they've raised $80 million in jazz of January. 2020 values the company at $1.6 billion What does this mean for the company? And what have you heard from the company Since you published this Well, obviously terrible for the company's reputation, right? They have so many high profile customers, not only high profile customers, a Tesla and cloud Fair right be exposing this put off the schools, hospitals, jails. Um, you know, it's terrible for the reputation and you know their companies that tries to sell their security is one of their teachers. And you know what I'm hearing from the company is not much there. Um um Doing an investigation, and they contacted law enforcement. But you haven't heard too much more. They restrict the hackers no longer have access

A rare Botticelli portrait fetches $80 million in Sotheby's auction
"About cheddi portrait. This week smashed the auction record for the nasal artist. Portrait of a young man with a roundell hammered at eighty million dollars. Sotheby's in new york on ninety two point one million with fees. The previous record for was relatively low. Ten point four billion dollars set in two thousand. Thirteen by the so-called rockefeller madonna portrayed. A young man had lost come to auction in one thousand nine hundred eighty two and its attribution to put. A chill was doubted by everett. Fall by then. The director of new york's frick collection. Who declared to be by francesco. Totti cini a follow of botticelli for he apparently later changed his mind and now the work is widely agreed to be a botticelli but while that work the price it was expected to a small but luminous rembrandt painting abraham and the angels from sixteen forty six which had estimate of twenty to thirty million dollars was withdrawn at the last minute. As we recorded the podcast sotheby's not yet given an explanation for its withdrawal. I spoke to scott rayburn a contributor to the newspaper and the new york times immediately after the sale. About whether it's a risk to bring these works wash now amid the pandemic and what it tells us about the market for your masters in general scott before we talk about the particular. Lots came sotheby's today. I wanted to ask you about the old master market in general and obviously the fact that he are in the middle of a pandemic and we're in an economic crisis. Does it make sense to bring these kind of lots to watch it this time. Well this is how the b.'s. new york gets the big master cell. Everyone wants to consigned to this sale. This is the moment The markets dealers on people. I speak to in that world. Say new york is where everyone wants to sell their overly only one sale year evening sale and that was the time to sell uncles. The pandemic been going on for nearly a year now in terms of restrictions on auctions sotheby's created incredibly slick format for this hybrid livestream sale It seems to be working. Well the thing about losses of courses. This isn't contemporary art. It's an unfashionable collecting field and it was always going to be a real test for that collecting field in the current environment. That's the interesting thing is because of course the leonardo so and of course the leonardo salvator mundi was very very unusual. So we have to caveat everything with that sure but christie's when they sold that put that into the contemporary sale. Luckily and i wondered how you feel about whether old master lots might do better in more mixed fields versus the traditional roadmaster sale. And who dictates that but with the salvator mundi. My understanding was that it was just a brainwave by the genius auction air Loic gouzer Thinking well let's put it in a contemporary sale. It's such a strange object If it's an old master sale than people just pick it to bits and criticize it in a contemporary sale be would just be looking at the image. And of course christie's marketing machine went into absolute overdrive and they marked it absolutely brilliantly Using the typeface of the dan brown novel to promote it You know they pulled out every stop and it worked sensationally. Well whether you the extent to which you can do again is is really questionable. Because that is as you point out in uttar outlaw. They self-talk mundi in in every respect. But what was interesting about. The marketing of this sale at celebici's is once again. The sophistication of the marketing with every lot. The work was shown online hanging on a white wool in a contemporary style. Interior where you'd expect a damien hirst to hang on then there would be to further reassure the contemporary minded by will the asian bah. There was a very attractive. Cooley dressed asian girl standing next to the painting in a contemporary interior. I that all walking the hilarious thing about this marketing ploys that in both cases they weren't actually looking at the picture they were just standing there. It was clearly if he's of marketing to reassure contemporary art buys but it was very smart and slick and clever and they and they're pulling out the stuff that incredibly inventive about it
