What Is Roger Stone Doing in New York?
"Back. I'm talking to Roger Stone, roger. I live in New York City, I do not mug people, but I do live in New York City. I think it's overstated about the crime. That's here. We don't need to get into that. All I'm trying to say is, I live here, you rarely visit here. You visited here. I was out of town. I was very upset by that. I wish I got more notice when you're going to be around. But tell us what were you doing in New York and did you say antifa was trying to attack you? So I was invited by the New York young Republican club, which is the oldest, largest and most vibrant and active young Republican club in the country. Former members, governor Thomas E Dewey, attorney general, Herbert brownell, governor Nelson Rockefeller, former vice president, Richard Nixon when he lived all associate members. Verily a John foster dulles an associate member. Very Augusta and storied history. It is a really a vibrant club of young people and they invited me to come in for a martini mixer. This is where I spoke about the history of the martini. I reveal Richard Nixon's own secret recipe for the silver bullet. And then I move behind the bar and with the assistance of three bartenders, I mixed and poured over almost 300 martinis. By the way, The Daily Beast said they were margaritas, just to show you how to actually yeah, they're not big on mixology or theology, but that's the only two things of which they're totally ignorant. But at least call themselves The Daily Beast, so it's right out there in front, you know exactly what they are. I think they're corporate slogan is 6, 6, 6, as a matter of fact. But in any event, so with the way this worked is you bought your ticket on eventbrite. And then roughly an hour before the event, the club would send you an email telling you the location of the event. Otherwise you have an almost guarantee of violence and other protesters. But the location of this event in Little Italy evidently leaked and there were so many bomb threats and death threats to the Italian restaurant where it was going to be held. That they canceled before hours noticed.

It could be months before its known just how much of the tab for bank failures that ordinary Americans will have to pick up. The Biden administration says it will guarantee uninsured deposits of Silicon Valley bank and signature bank, the Federal Reserve announced a new lending program for all banks that need to borrow money to pay for withdrawals. The fed says banks borrowed about 300 billion in emergency funding in the past week, with nearly half that amount going to holding companies for the two fell banks to pay depositors, taxpayers will probably bear no direct cost, but other banks may have to help defray the cost of covering uninsured deposits over time those banks could pass higher cost on to customers forcing everyone to pay more for services. Fed lent $300B in emergency funds to banks in the past week
"The fed lent hundreds of billions of dollars in emergency funds to troubled banks. I'm Lisa de weyer. The Federal Reserve says that cash short banks have borrowed about $300 billion in emergency funding from the Central Bank and the past week. Nearly half the money, 143 billion went to holding companies for the two major banks that failed recently, Silicon Valley bank and signature bank. The money they borrowed was used to pay their uninsured depositors with bonds owned by both banks posted as collateral. An additional 148 billion in lending was provided to other unidentified banks through a long-standing program called the discount window and amounted to a record level for that program. "Steve just considering the whispers of the last week and a half. I expected much, I mean, when they released this yesterday, I was so speechless, I said, you're trying to tell me there's a singular charter flight in question. He might have had somebody clean his boat, which is, I mean, really? It's a $14,000 flight. There's not a $14,000 private flight. You can take in the country. His expenses were de minimis given the time he has to use to go see donors. And remember, he's a fundraising machine. James O'Keefe is known as a guy that fundraises nonstop besides the time of spending on this and people don't understand. This is what I had him on the show a couple of years ago. First off, just the amount of things you start on this that you've got to kill because they don't they don't come to fruition. The training on this. He's like training undercover agents, look at the hill. Look at the Facebook. Sleeper cells. He said at the end, hey, by the way, Zuckerberg and his wife, and they're focused on here in politics is only small. What they're really focused on is living forever. He has some of the best hits and it's not just for the conservative movement. I want to pull the camera back. It's for the nation. Yeah, I know. Some of these, that's correct. Some of these, some of these, what he's done on Pfizer is extraordinary. The other thing about Pfizer, these are these companies run high and tight, okay? They're absolutely so tight in the way they run. For him to get inside there to do that and to have those type of revelations. There's nothing short of extraordinary. They couldn't have gotten rid of him. And I'm not a conspiracy theory guy, but I can't get my mind off the fact that he has the greatest hits ever that dovetails with Naomi's wolf. This is a pincer movement to blow Pfizer up in this vaccine and at the same time they throw him out for a couple of car services that he got $300 cars. By the way, they're all business expenses. This Is How the House Actually Works
"You how, let me just tell you reality of how the house works. Kevin, for the last decade, has been House majority leader. That's not true. He was whipped before he was in leadership. And by doing that, you raise a lot of money and you travel the country. So the way the process works is the House leadership raises a bunch of money and they dish out that money to support candidates in critical races and a lot of candidates struggle to raise the amount of money that is necessary to win. And so then they rely on leadership to come in and to support them. I don't love that system, but it's a reality that system. And so it's not even a matter of what does McCarthy have over them. He's developed relationships with them for years. And has been supporting them. And by supporting them, he develops friendships and relationships in an expectation that they're going to support Kevin in leadership if he is to be speaker if he's tried to become Speaker of the House. Lauren boebert voted for Kevin of Oklahoma. I don't even know what that means. So maybe Kevin stitt, the governor of Oklahoma? It's not Kevin McCarthy. I think she's trying to troll people. I do that. Who knows? And Lauren's going to join us in a second. So essentially, the way it works, again, I'm not a fan or support of it, but it's the way that the house is structured is that you need to raise every cycle anywhere between 250 to $300 million to just be competitive. Pelosi raised about four to $500 million. It's a lot of money. And so then you dish out that money and just you distribute that money and districts via super PACS, direct contributions, leadership packs, all sorts of different ways. And so there is a fear that if you do not have someone in leadership who's going to be able to raise that money, I don't buy into that fear, whoever is in leadership, they'll be able to go through and raise the necessary money to be able to do this. And to be able to get towards victory. But a lot of these people are not going to vote for anybody but Kevin because Kevin helped them when they were early in their career.

Yeah, it was good, you know? We got a lot of games coming down to the end and some we won some we've lost, which is why we're 6 and 6. So not where we want to be, but we'll keep fighting. The touchdown with three seconds left was the latest game winner in Brady's 23 year career and the second 13 point fourth quarter comeback with the other being the Patriots infamous Super Bowl 50 win over the falcons. In the NBA, Boston got by Toronto one 16 one ten Jayson Tatum had a game high 31 points, but tipped his cap to some of his new teammates for their help in the win. We got some new guys on the team this year, but they're great guys, great teammates. Guys are really smart. That fit in perfectly. And we all just compliment each other. Memphis got by Miami one O one 93 as tyus Jones had 28 points and ten boards. We're all in this together. You never know how things can shake up. And guys got to be ready when their name is called. So we prepare like that every single day. And then again, nice like tonight. Our reasons why. On the ice Vegas got by Boston and they shoot out four three as golden knights coach Bruce Cassidy beat his former team 6 months after being fired by Boston. Something that'll get choked up about, obviously, probably in about three seconds. But like I said, I appreciate it. It's that simple. I appreciate it. FTX's Sam Bankman-Fried Cashed Out $300 Million During Funding Spree
"Let's start on the crypto side of things. And let's first do the FTX update and get this out of the way. Kicking off and here's a little fun one because the hits just keep coming. Remember that cute little meme venture round of 420 million from 69 investors turns out 300 million of that went straight into Sam's pockets. He's claiming that it was a partial repayment for buying out binance's stake earlier in the summer, but given how nothing on the FTX books was clearly marked or identifiable really, it's extremely difficult to actually know. In any case, I'm sure those 69 investors will love learning that 75% of their investment went directly into the effective altruist pocket.

There's no reason for that. I'm at home, of course. Anyhow, we'll never be so lucky to see any kind of footage from it, maybe a camera in the house, you know, any kind of security cameras out of the house, typically three on the front, two on the back, two on each side of the house, you go to ten camera package, I think that's what a lot of Americans do when they wanna protect their beautiful home. Or in the Pelosi's case, multiple homes, in fact, if you're Nancy Pelosi and Paul Pelosi, you've got close to a $1 billion between the two of you. Paul himself is worth over $300 million. And with multiple homes, all kind of close by and each of those homes always having guards on the property, listen to what I just said. Each of those homes having guards, armed guards on the property, whether Nancy or Paul or both are there or not. Just so happens the night that of the if I had a hammer attack happened, yeah, there were no. There was no security lights in the backyard. There's no footage to pull, it turns out Nancy and Paul's Pacific heights mansion and the security footage they installed is no better than the security footage inside of New York City bodega. The cameras, I guess, are just there for Shell. I mean, she's only third in line for the presidency of the United States of America. Why would she cameras? Slow your roll. You're not that important. But despite all that, we're never going to see any footage. And that's just plain horseshit. "The Batman remains number one and crosses $300 million by Lindsey Barr, Associated Press. The Batman is still going strong three weeks into its theatrical run with a tight grip on the top spot at the box office. Robert Pattinson's debut as The Dark Knight earned an additional $36.8 million over the weekend, according to studio estimates Sunday. It also slid past the $300 million mark ahead of projections. The Warner Brothers film is the highest grossing movie of 2022, and the second highest, since the beginning of the pandemic, first place goes to Spider-Man: No Way Home. The Batman directed by Matt Reeves, also picked up $49.1 million internationally this weekend, bringing its global total to $598.1 million. The only place The Batman seems to be stumbling is in China, where it earned $12.1 million in its first weekend. But about 43% of cinemas in China are closed due to the pandemic, and The Batman still did slightly better than unchartered, which also opened there this weekend to $10.3 million. The Batman cost an estimated $200 million to make, not counting the many millions spent on marketing, but it is already a win for Warner Brothers, which took a hit at the box office in 2021 because all of its films were released simultaneously in theaters, and on HBO Max. It also helps that marketplace competition has been slim. The biggest competitor this weekend was the anime jiu-jitsu kaizen zero, which was released by crunchyroll and funimation and took in an estimated $17.7 million in its first weekend in North America, where it was playing on 2748 screens. The Japanese film is based on a bestselling manga, and available to watch dubbed or with subtitles. The horror film X also debuted this weekend on 2865 screens and is projected to gross around $4.4 million, directed by Thai west and distributed by a 24 X is about a group of people who are terrorized while shooting a pornographic film..

So they made this they took a sheet of paper with her face on it like a face map. And they created like four different styles of winged liner, and every day when she would go in, she would just point to which one she wanted for her look. And they said, she took the longest and the makeup chair. I asked about Zendaya, obvi. And I was like, what is Zendaya doing? And they're like, for this season, she's not doing much makeup. Yeah. But they said that call back to Mac is Zendaya suggested Mac face and body for her. So if you're wondering like that really natural skin look, that's what Zendaya is wearing. They also use shante future skin and face atelier to get this no makeup makeup look. And it really is it really had to be no makeup makeup because Sam Levinson, the director inside the trailer, he had printed out these signs that said, no foundation, your skin will look great. Trust me, Sam. Yeah. Like he was adamant that he didn't want people to look like they were made up, especially since they were being captured on film. And that also influenced Donnie told us on the podcast that they do not use powder and that's still true. No powder whatsoever, still using nano blur from indeed labs to kind of like take away shine. But really I think the most intricate and interesting beauty looks, maybe the nails, they had a bunch of press on nails, and did you watch the first episode yet? Not yet. Remember, I'd like to take a second to oh yeah, yeah. Just kidding. Okay. No, no, I'm so excited. I'm like, and I want to watch it just because of obviously Donny and the makeup looks. But yes, tell me more about the nails. Well, the nails there is a very specific scene with Sydney Sweeney. Where you will see those press on nails and they are there's rhinestones on the nails. There's some like 70s designs that she created. She was on set like doing last looks putting nails on the cast. So I think the nails will be really big feature this season and also a lot of lower lash looks. Johnny said, there's a lot of twiggy inspiration, so you'll see that either through like designs or through like shimmer hunter who plays Jules has her inner corner wing instead of outer corner wing. And then cat will have more, I think of the visually bold looks like the first episode is set on New Year's Eve. And she has like a color blocked eye of yellow and green. So there's just so much. And then that way, if you run out of time, it's magically for the stuff that you didn't want to have to do anyways, or do you just take it as it comes? Yeah. I've kind of a funny setup on this in that I don't really run my schedule or my tasks at all. I don't have any say in what gets done. I have so many people that depend on me for little things. And so they just get to put on my calendar and then I do it the order at they tell me to do it in. It's kind of funny. I'm sure I could do stuff, but I just find I'm so bad at doing anything. I will lay in bed and watch TikTok if given the opportunity over anything else about how important it is. I will just do nothing. And so I have to hack my life to be and I know David you and I are very similar in this. I have to hack my life so that so that so that your own weaknesses. Yes. If there's steak and there's broccoli, I like the broccoli first, then move to the steak, right? I think I do that in my own life. I think I did that as well. It's productivity book. Anyway, yes, I will do that first, but yeah. Well, here's why I asked because the pattern of how business works once you get to be pretty successful is that as tasks come in, they get bifurcated into a decision has to be made and work research logistics have to be done. Usually it's sort of like the work research logistics is lining up the bowling pins. And then somebody has to come in and roll the ball. And the skills that we teach on this podcast are mostly decision making skills, analyzing a property, how to raise the money, how to get the money coming in. So whatever you put money into is what your mind's gonna focus on, which is one of the reasons we all think about real estate a lot because a lot of our money goes into our real estate deal. So we see real estate in the newspaper. We're going to perk up. So he's like, look, if you have, if you're like, oh, I really wish I was more into, you know, I wish I was better at education, helping kids with education. Put a bunch of your money with kids in education. And you will naturally be more interested in that thing. I thought that was such a great point. Yeah, our interests will follow where we spend our money. And our show me your bank account and I'll show you your heart. I think they've said where your treasure is your heart will follow. And I think that's great about what Whitney's doing is by adopting children from a place where they likely wouldn't have had as good of a life as he's going to be able to give them here. It tears your heart away from the intoxicating elements of what wealth can do. And it keeps it grounded and something else and Brandon, that's something I've seen you make very intentional is investing your time, not just into business, but making sure that you're putting it into your family and into the people you influence..

And we go through a ton of really good stuff about the mindset needed to go from cop salary to owning $300 million of real estate. That and more coming up. I came from no network, none of my family can invest in real estate. They know wealth whatsoever. A no wealthy friends. And so when I started doing this and started trying to raise money, I raised $250,000 on our first project. And that was all from traveling to conferences and meeting with investors. As hard as I could go. By the next deal, I'm more than doubled that. And by the next deal, almost tripled that. And then by the next deal, we were at like 5 to 7 million. And by the deal after that, I mean, now we're having soft commits.
