It's No Surprise Prostitution Flourishes at the WEF

"Apparently there are a whole bunch of prostitutes that have flown into Davos for the World Economic Forum. Now this is not because they are speakers or attendees. They are apparently providing services on the side. And the daily mail interviewed a couple of them. One of them said that. She charges €700 about $760 for an hour. This is or €2300 or $2500 for the whole night. Plus travel expenses. Another escort service, which is about a hundred miles away from the summit. The manager says she's got an 11 bookings and 25 inquiries and they're going to be a lot more coming in. This week with the conference in full swing, now these prostitution rates seem kind of high. I mean, I don't speak from experience. I have all these speaking from looking at the rate itself, but I think the rates are actually too low because when you look at the caliber of people at the World Economic Forum, I mean, this is going to be a hard, this is going to be a lot of, you know, these days they don't call them prostitutes. They call them sex workers. And I guess what I'm saying is it's going to be a lot of work. I mean, imagine, for example, being a prostitute servicing Paul Ryan, I mean, this is a guy with the personality of an electric chair. Or Klaus Schwab, Klaus Schwab is the guy who runs the World Economic Forum. I mean, this guy is like a hundred years old. I mean, I met Klaus Schwab about 1995. I thought he was around 80 then. I mean, I don't think he was. He probably wasn't in 60s. I think he's now in his 80s. But imagine being a prostitute, servicing Klaus Schwab. I don't feel anything.

Damar Hamlins Charity Foundation Approaching $7 Million in Donations

"I want to give a quick update on the young man demar Hamlin, I don't know why it's so weird for me to say his name. I just don't remember his name doesn't ring in my mind. Like demar Hamlin, it's not like a Ray Lewis or something. It just doesn't ring in my mind. However, his the GoFundMe account, I wish I only go for me, man. God, dang, they bring in the bacon. People, millions of millions of dollars raised over all these platforms, but regardless of that. His GoFundMe is called chasing M's foundation community toy drive. And his original goal was $2500, which is weird as an NFL player. You would think other players would hook you up or something. He ended up raising 10,000, but after this incident, 200, I mean, this is as of, I don't remember when I printed this, but this was like not too long ago that we printed this. Oh, at 9 a.m. this morning. So that was pretty a pretty long time ago. I could probably look up the numbers as of right now, but I mean, he's at 62, $6.2 million raised 205,000 donors. So there's a lot of small donations, and I think the biggest donor was like $20,000 in the course, all the guys in the NFL supported. And I just want to say this because I said this yesterday, but it's been on my heart to say this. It's that God works in mysterious ways. If you can not, if you can not see that this is a God thing, then I think you are not in a position to kiss the blessings of God when they come through.

Why Everyone Should Terminate Their PayPal Accounts

"PayPal comes out with their so called anti misinformation policy. Here we go again. And so many other tech platforms apparently PayPal thinks it is the job of a payment processing company to monitor misinformation. Wow. And this is the kicker PayPal set that if you abuse this policy against misinformation. By the way, let's look at what their definition of misinformation is. Some of it is unobjectionable. They talk about promoting illegal drug use or depicting explicit nudity or sexual activities promoting violence, criminal activity. I get all that. What I'm interested in debating that. But quote, you can't post things that are harmful or obscene. You can promote postings that depict promoter inside hatred or discrimination of protective groups, which are then specified groups based on quote protected characteristics. Such as religion, gender, gender identity, sexual orientation, race. You can not promote information that is quote fraudulent. Or promotes misinformation. Now, some of this, as you can see, is very vague. And the definition of misinformation comes by and large from fact checking groups that themselves promote misinformation. And PayPal says that if you do this, they can take out $2500 from your account. What? So there was an uproar over this, and PayPal kind of backed up. And they said, oh, no, no, no, no, no, we sort of posted that in error. And then people noticed that shortly after the that died down, people thought, okay, if we PayPal has come to its senses, a papal PayPal repost the policy as if to say, well, now that we've kind of cooled you guys down, we're going to still do it. Wow. The former president of PayPal, David Marcus, he goes, he calls the policy quote insanity. He says, now a private company gets to decide to take your money. If you say something, they disagree with. So yeah, that's the heart of the issue right there.

The Culture of Washington, DC Summers With Sourabh Sharma

"I want to kind of play into this a little bit more. So just can you walk through our audience, a lot of our audiences may have been to D.C. just on kind of a trip casually or not been at all. That's why they're so happy. Can you just kind of walk through the culture of Washington, D.C. summers, and how that actually lays the groundwork for how policy itself is debated. So from my understanding is there's a bunch of interns that flood the Capitol Hill. Many of them have jobs they're looking for jobs are there for about three to four months if that and good luck trying to get a lease. It's like $2500 a month or 3000 a month. Plus you got to pay for food in a very expensive city and travel and all of this. So basically after all of it, it's like $15,000 to do, which is that's basically boat fuel for a family on up in mount desert island. Why is it that this is such a talk about the impediment there and how the culture in Washington D.C. exists? Right, so every year you have inference season, right? And the fall and spring are also relevant here, but it's mostly the summer. That's when D.C. is full of people. And so you have all these Senate offices, these house offices, these think tanks on the right of center. And you would assume, oh, okay, they're conservatives. And so they're going to be selecting for people based on their worldview. They're going to be selecting people who want to serve and want to make an impact in support of the priorities that these politicians are running on. That is not what happens at all. Every single major institution in D.C. has the same blinders on, if not more intensely, that the rest of liberal culture around us has. So what do they prioritize? They prioritize Ivy League education slash other kinds of fancy schools. They prioritize people who are very well spoken, but not very substantive. People who aren't going to rock the boat, but talk pretty. And of course, by the nature of the system, prioritize people who are wealthy. And so you bring in this class of people, most of them aren't going to stay but the percentage that are are the ones who really couldn't cut it anywhere else. And those then enter the pipeline for the broader staffing set on the right. And so those people they run up the chain and very quickly by the time you're in your late 20s, you can have very real serious power in Washington, D.C..

"Midst of everything going on, you have Ukraine, you have inflation. You have shortages and supply chains. They can't hire lockers, city of Phoenix, I read a story about this. They were talking about that they can not open 50% of their public pools and Phoenix, Arizona, which is the pools of the places you go to get away from the heat of Phoenix, Arizona because they don't have enough lifeguards and even offered a $2500 bonus for people to come forward as Lockhart. Folks, we've got a severe shortage of these employment issues going on in these restaurant industry and our service industries and especially our hospitality industries. There's a lot of things going on in the world right now. The Biden administration could be focusing on. But the one thing they keep coming back to almost is the crux of their whole argument to gain young people to keep their at least momentum where they believe they separate that it's out is in the student loan offering. Charles Thorngren and Trish Discuss Your Gold Investment Options

"Is it that people can do in terms of investing in goal getting a gold backed IRA to hopefully even out this inflation because the reality is, I think we're going to be living with this for a while. I'd like to thank, you know, they can pull it back, but I don't see it happening. I mean, every indication out there is that inflation is going to continue being an issue. It absolutely is we're taking baby steps for monster problem and that's just not going to work. There is zero chance of a soft landing. You diversify in metals. You diversify intangible assets. That's really what you need to do. Give us a call. I mean, you're probably looking at your best prices for metals for the next 6 to 7 years right now. I'm looking at it today anyway. And the other day, it was a little bit higher, but it moves around a bit as the market does in general, but we're looking at roughly 1800 and change. And there are calls for gold to be $2500. I know you don't like to speculate on the actual price, but I think just what you're saying is that the overall trend is showing you gold isn't going down, right? I mean, we're printing money. We're going to continue printing money, and even if we don't, we've got a lot of money that's out there already printed. We've got massive debt loans. This sort of overall fiscal health of the nation, I think, is in a precarious position which means the value of the dollar theoretically then should be challenged over time. Absolutely. And listen, Russia and China have been challenging the dollar for quite some time now. And there's still challenging. Yeah. Interestingly enough, but Mexico is against the dollar being the reserve currency. Well, I mean, that's a whole other can of worms. I would say in this environment, look, I would still prefer dollars over yuan. And certainly over Euros, so but that's out there. You know, that's something that's been talked about, and I think, you know, smart investors probably need to plan for over the next who knows, you know, generation because it's out there and it's not going away. And I think a lot of countries have figured out that they don't like having to be Holden, so to speak, to that U.S. dollar.

Biden's Child Tax Credit Could Create a Massive Expansion of the Welfare State

"What the heritage foundation writes about what Biden wants to do with the child, tax credit. In reality, he's proposing a massive expansion of the welfare state. Except he's calling it a child allowance. In the policy relies upon the child credit tech credit. Now think about a tax credit. That means you pay taxes, right? Well, he's expanding it for people that don't pay taxes. They don't have jobs. Rather than providing tax relief, the plan would give cash grants to families who do not work or work comparatively comparatively little. The Clinton era welfare reform understood that paying able bodied people not to work with good for neither society, nor recipients. Such payments tend to push individuals out of the labor force and toward the margin of society, impeding upward mobility for both adults and children. In reality the plan would offer zero long-term tax relief to working families with children. Even in the short term, some 75% of the aid would go to cash grants to families who owe no income tax. Contrary to the Biden administration rhetoric the primary focus would not be taxed relief, but the elimination of all work requirements and work incentives from the current child credit program. Under the current system, a family must earn at least $2500 during the year to be eligible for the cash grants. The Biden shallow allowance policy seeks to rip out these work requirements and incentive credit explicitly overturning the principles of welfare reform. Under the Biden plan, the federal government would for the first time in a quarter century provide unconditional cash grants to families who choose not to work during the year.

"One is they're busy as hell trying to do a lot of other things, including Covid, including disaster relief on the Gulf Coast and so on, So whether or not you and I would agree that there needs to be more attention in public focus on this. A third element is there's only so much capacity. And so what the president might want to consider is appointing somebody. Perhaps a retired military officer, a senior one with experience in Afghanistan make him or her the bizarre if you will hate the word, but somebody who can The point person on this effort. Um Tony Blinken would probably say, Hey, that's my job over here at ST and I'm doing it fair enough. But I would argue this is at a sufficiently high level that it's time to consider putting a single person in charge to focus the efforts on this. I think they're afraid of America held hostage to point out and you and I both recall you were in the service. I was a young writer at the time in San Committee when the Americans were taken hostage in Tehran in 1980, how it crippled the Carter presidency. I'm sure they are aware of that and afraid of that. But any effort to move it out of the White House to his are somebody else I think would go down very poorly. I really don't know how to balance that. I just think they're getting the balance wrong right now, Admiral. Um, well, certainly people like me who have been focused on Afghanistan for 20 years. Would say, and we've got to do better here at the end game and so I am going to continue to be a voice for those who are left behind. Um, I hope others will as well and I hope the administration will put sufficient focus on this to start getting real numbers out now. Obviously starting with American citizens who want to leave. That is, uh, that's a crisis. Um, The other issues are very significant again. 300,000 hard to pin numbers on this. Let's start by working with the Taliban and see what we can accomplish, and then let's look at other instruments. No admiral. The after action or the after Fiasco report has begun. I talked to a congressional aide who is helping assisting the Pentagon and General Milley is being slammed for this. And for that, General Milley got it from the left when he was chairman for Donald Trump is getting it from the right now that the chairman for Joe Biden and very sympathetically General Milley and the and the joint Chiefs right now, but they've got to be very careful about Contradicting the White House narrative about who did what? When, but there will be congressional oversight. What is your advice is they put together the timeline, particularly around the surrender of Bagram? Because it seems to me they're going to run up. Against today when they have to say Look. The president told us a hard cap of 2500. And he gave us missions that require that we abandon Bagram. That day is coming, isn't it when they're just going to admit you can't do both protect the embassy and Bagram with 2500 people. I believe General Milley has already said exactly that that it was a binary choice, given the number of assets on the ground and that they chose to defend the commercial airport. Um, I think that's going to be a highly debated decision. My advice, and I know Mark Milley extremely well. He was one of the top generals work in the NATO mission in Afghanistan. When I was the supreme man like commander, Um, he will be brutally honest, and that's the only approach to take. The big mistake would be trying to hide the ball in any way. They've got to simply lay out the facts stream when the decisions were made, who made them and put that in front of the Congress? That's the Congress's role to look at oversight of any, uh, any mission The United States military undertakes. You know, Admiral last question. My advice to the interlocutor was established the timeline back it up with documents. Put your story out and stick to it until you have that timeline down to the second. Say nothing because you have to live by your timeline or you have a Benghazi to point out so until then, until you have every document every decision every option. Documented. Give nothing to the congress. What do you think about my advice? I think it is sound and the Congress needs to be patient for a reasonable period of time. On the other hand, everything you just said, are all knowable facts and the U. S military is quite good at assembling knows putting them together, So this ought to be a matter of Days, perhaps weeks. Certainly not months. Will we find the decision documents somewhere that says closed Bagram or close the embassy. Yes, you will find, um, orders that are given in the military context typically signed by the secretary of defense. Those are discrete specific decisions for deployment or redeployment. Again. These are all knowable facts. This is a very much a knee bone connected to the ankle bone kind of process. It's all going to come out. Um, get your ducks in a row, as you say, and then roll it out. And then let's have them have a conversation. Stick to the facts. Absolutely, Admiral. Great to see you again. Follow Admiral Stavridis at stab readers. J. "Frustrating because I mean we were getting along so well. I mean Saturday night, Carla Garrett, who organized the event last year, and who was a bit frustrated with me over some things I did. We? We buried the hatchet and then 24 hours later, the next organizer and this year's organizer as well decides. Okay, well, Carla is no longer fighting with Aria. So I'm going to pick up that fight, man. Can't we just peacefully coexist? What is so hard about just peacefully co existing dramas Addicting. You know, some people, you know, are over unhappy with themselves of our life or board or whatever hate their wife hate their families, So they just need you know something else to obsess over. And that's why they just obsess over drama and starting fights where none should be started. And it's particularly true among libertarians. I like to think about, you know, wild animals. I mean, my dog isn't going to fight with the cats over food. She's not going to fight with other dogs over food because she's healthy. She's got plenty of food. It's not the people who have plenty who said around bickering over what they have is the people who are fighting for scraps, and that's essentially the libertarian Party. That's why they bicker. So Furiously about tiny little details because that little scrap of meat to them. It's just so unbelievably important that they're willing to fight to the death over it while ignoring the giant deer back there. They could be eating if they weren't instead fighting over that scrap. It's a very good way to put it in, and that's the that's the Libertarian Party, in a nutshell, and that's more or less what's going on. Okay. A festival of Really? You want to start this this fight and these wild accusations against these two hardcore libertarian groups that are aiming to get people to move to New Hampshire over a festival of 2500 people. Just doesn't seem worth it to me. I would rather see the festival grow and extend. Okay. You reach the cap of 2500. People find fork fast, still has plenty of room to grow. So instead of being upset, let's work together. To get all of these people a place to go and to hang out and have a good time, among other libertarians, right to me, That's the that's the best approach. Goals overlaps so much that there's just this tiny little thing. And of course, it has everything to do with money and power. And that tiny little thing is going to draw a wedge so that we can actually marshal our forces together. Thanks. I'm sure that's not what the state wants at all guys. No. Sorry. No, you go ahead. Well, and it just to show how how much this it just like how little they and I'm trying to trying to be nice here, But, you know, I lived in New Hampshire for nine years before I Okay. I've ever heard of keen ever heard of FTL. And I learned about the FSP from Ian Wright. I I lived here for I o U in Hanover, New Hampshire, So it's not like I'm in the middle of a shack in the middle of the woods in the great Northern Forest. I never heard of the FSB, right and they've been When did it start? When did it started? In like what? The early odds, I think. I don't know exactly whenever no one even knows the lore and yeah, they just done such a poor job. That's the thing too. We started a libertarian club at our high school in 2020, 14 2015, and none of us have ever heard of the FSB at all. So like, whatever you know, so it's nice to see if they're spending all their money here and you know, in fighting instead of, you know, getting, um It's a major marketing issue. I mean free Talk live's certainly has the advantage here L'Wren dot FM has the advantage here because I'm also one of those people. I attended my very first Somalia Fest and Porcupine Freedom Festival. Not knowing anything about the free state project, not even knowing it was a thing. And I was here at their festival. Not even knowing they exist. I mean, there's a marketing issue here. Yeah, I had no idea there was any such thing as pork fest or especially of the free of the free state project at all, until there was a crossover between show that I was listening to in a dedicated way. And free talk live. And then I heard this free talk live commercial of mentioning the free state project, and I'm like the what? And I've been an anarchist for as long as I can remember at, and I've never heard of this thing. So no one is hearing about this. No one is, I mean, sure, there little pockets of people, usually people who are Closely associated with the political side of libertarianism, and they know about it and don't think it'll work. Whereas all of us who actually want to like, do something, build a community, you know, have something other than the state to live in. We don't know it exists. It raises the question, though, you know. Well, how did I end up here at the Porcupine Freedom Festival all those years ago without knowing about the free state project? Well, the answer is really simple. Is because of Ian Freeman and L'Wren dot FM and a show I was doing with locally called called the Freedom. So I'm here because of L'Wren dot FM and Ian Freeman. The free State project tried to claim credit for me when I did my presentation there like free state mover. No, I'm not a free stater never had any association with you people. And at this point I don't think you want to have any association with me. As far as I can tell, I certain you haven't done anything that makes me want to be part of the free state project. I want to see New Hampshire secede. I want to see New Hampshire be freed. But I don't think the free state project has the right heart to achieve that goal based on the things I've seen, But versus someone like Ian, who has spent the better part of 15 years, actually. Getting people to move to New Hampshire and sticking by Libertarian principles are being consistent so to.

"You are, but not in the rundown. All right. Hey, Welcome back. That was a little footage from press conference. I had the other day. Um, and that press conference was to talk about some of the things New York City needs to do to get our businesses moving again. And one of them, of course, is New York City. Business owners have been crushed by covid fines and penalties. The sheriff's come around and wait. His mask is too low. They give him $2500 point. And I think you know the smart thing to do like they did in Florida and other places. Say, Hey, all those covid finds from the overreach in arbitrary edicts that the governor passed without legislature. Let's let's get that black cloud at EU business owners lives. You don't have to pay those funds get back to work, start hiring people back, but I don't know. It's like, uh, it's to me. It's getting crazier by the minute and certainly what's going on at the border is even crazier. Joe Biden When Donald Trump was president, it was a crisis. "Me to have to hit people US dollars here at fork fast because for the last five years Pretty much used only Cryptocurrency. Now we do have the gold back. People here and I'm going to procure some additional gold backs and most of the vendors who will take those but I've always just pulled out my phone and scanned a QR code and that was how I made purchases this year. I can't do that. And that's that's frustrating, but It's I mean, you know, it's quite a place and people just have no idea what it's like to come to a fork fast. Excuse me, but they don't There's what How many. How many sites are there here like 500 RV sites are at 500 Total camping sites in the and they're supposed supposedly I have heard they've sold More than 10,000 tickets. Um, now I don't care about snow. It's direct. It was 2500 Last I heard. Then they stopped selling. That makes more sense with 500 sites that five people per site that kind of thing. I don't think you could get 10,000 people in here that shows their absolute excitement that's going on. If people are exaggerating, show level and Frankly, you don't know the difference between 2500 people in 10,000 people. If you're experiencing it, I mean, at that point is pretty irrelevant. Anything over 1000 people is just a mass of people. But it is a great time and I mean it's a little overcast today, but it's it's doesn't matter. The freedom still had its not 90 degrees. That's what I was getting at. It's much more tolerable today. Yesterday was Insanely hot for it to be here, but that didn't hold anyone back, and everyone had a good time. Even even with the thunderstorm. After it dissipated, people came back out and started doing the pork fest thing, which is Hanging out and having a good time. Yeah, it's it's quite the festival and people need to experience it to understand it. We will do our best over the course of the next several days to describe it all to you, and to bring you What we consider the highlights and the best parts in and all the interesting folks and we'll be grabbing them throughout the day today and for the next. Is it two weeks? We're doing it. We're doing it for two weeks. Yes, uh And that's good news for people who can't make it to the Porcupine Freedom Festival because they are sold out of tickets. They're not even selling day passes. Rogers Campground is at capacity, I'm told, But if you want to hang out if you still want to attend the festival Fork fast is still happening until July, the fourth July. The fourth is officially the last day. But I'm probably not leaving until July the fifth because it gives me extra time to tear everything down and not be in a rush. And all of that, right. I mean, we can just turn it over to the good folks at the the main studio, and they can do a show there and we can pack up and it's the nice thing about having Extra people now, because just a couple of months ago we were all work in six days a week in harried and it was pretty terrible. It wasn't terrible. It was heroic. Certainly, but you know, I enjoyed it and Now I have the generally as much time as I want to do free talk live and I gotta tell you, I'm looking forward to that as part of the reason that I wanted to take the day off. I mean, it helped that you didn't get here until six o'clock, so I didn't have a co host and I hadn't considered it until you pointed out. The headphones aren't really That important to doing this? They're not. But We? I think the headphones are part of the sort of the stick right. So if you have headphones on, people are less likely to wander up and start chitchatting to you, But we're talking in a microphone, so it isn't good enough. Okay? I've done this long enough. By the way, we should has it been announced. You are now with free talk. Live's sort of on is Full time E as we can sort of make that happen. Oh, it's full time. I mean, it's It's a lot of work. I must say I'm enjoying it as, uh, you know, one of the board members the sheriff Recherche. We're excited to have you. You're you know, dedicated and the reason that We continue to move you up as you know your competence and hard work. Awesome. Well, thank you so much. I mean, I'm not as completely isn't your taste in clothing. I don't know. I tend to disagree. I mean, you did describe me recently as Ian and address, so the clothing has to kind of be if you don't just one another Ian Wright, you need Ian with a twist. Unfortunately, I'm not quite as competent as so I had to introduce an additional piece of equipment into the live setup, but it actually It's really convenient how all of this came together because I already had that and What is that thing? That is a USB audio processor. Very similar to what I use that my music studio only this one only has two inputs because that's all we need. So is, um If Yuri in an address is P Klis Viking Mark Viking Mark? Um, I don't know, because I only have dealt with pickles like one night a week for the last three weeks. And prior to that, like, not really at all. Okay, so I don't know. Well, anyway, um, folks, please stay tuned over the course of the next couple of weeks and listen to what's going on at Fork fest or the for coupon the fork. You find Freedom Festival as I like to call it. What? You're calling it subpoena fest these days, and I have no doubt that there are FBI agents among us. "We lose Dr Shapiro at the top of the hour. I wanted to swing back and we could to one of the things that I'm familiar with, which is the 2500 TGV. Why would I opt for taking the 2500 as opposed to the the the 12 50? Some people want to take a more concentrated form. Because the 12 50 pills is a little bit larger than the 2500 TGV pills. You still get the same benefit you still get the same. Elevated amounts of EPA and D H A. But some people want to take a much smaller concentrated until so you can take. You still have to take 4 to 6 of them. But still the T g, I think is much more Advertising to someone who has a little bit of difficulties with the larger sized pill, But that's it. But I like the 12 50, Plus because it has vitamin D the deep, particularly The D is extremely important. And in each one of the 12 50. Plus, there is 50. 50 international units of vitamin D three. Trump allows some unemployment pay, defers payroll tax

"Payroll tax cuts because they're they're coming. Starting September 1st, we're gonna have payroll tax cuts. September, October, November December. From executive order Technically Executive memorandum from the president. In addition to student loans being continued to be deferred eviction memory, our moratorium extended And then the extra $400 per week of unemployment benefits again. Executive order from President Trump Now how did the payroll tax Cuts work. Granted, you've gotta be working to get a payroll tax cuts, so this does not help the unemployed, But it's going to put more money into people's pockets and you do some math here so first off a couple thoughts. This is brand new, so people are trying to still try to figure it out. But from what we understand this is about what this thing is gonna look like September 1st until the end of the year. If you're making less for $4000 or less. In any two week period. That's of any bi weekly period. So it's equivalent of this of this impacts anybody that's making about two grand a week or $140,000 per year or less. Or less. And it seems as though this is going to be determined by your bi weekly pay period. You would be in this group that's going to get a payroll tax cut. Remember the payroll tax cut his FICA and Medicare. You put them both. Together. It's 7.65% so let's do some math. Here again. If you're in this camp, $104,000 or a year or less. Or $4000 or less in a bi weekly pay period, which sounds like the more important calculation here. It's not your annual number, but it sounds like it's a pay period numbers how they're gonna look at this. If you're gonna take 7.5% off of that, which is the employee portion of this That's about 306 bucks a box for every two weeks ago at the Max. So if you're making right at the 4000 levels, said Boyd, 65% is $306 for a two week period and then times to turn up months. I look at this monthly It's about 612 bucks a month. That's really money. Of 600 bucks a month for the next four months. September, October, November, December. That's about $2500 a year. Money that's just directly in your pocket that you wouldn't otherwise have. You're collecting Mohr out of your paycheck, because less is going Teo and medical lessons going federal government

Marijuana in California: How the state's legalization of weed has not destroyed the black market

"For decades, pot farmers have hauled their weed on this winding, remote road. A lot of it grown on family farms like Casey O'Neil's. They've been here since the seventies. He's he has just 45 marijuana plants. He calls them his ladies and their tucked between his rose of vegetables all the canvas in this row Strawberry Valley. Good show. O'Neill, who spent time in jail for cultivating marijuana before it was legal, was one of the first to get a license after Prop 64 past. I grow cannabis because I really love it. I like to consume it. I like to be around it. It's something that Provides my being and consciousness with tremendous love and support. But his being in consciousness is getting strangled by red tape and a laundry list of requirements that don't make sense to growers like weighing marijuana leaves. Which is the part of the plan. You don't smoke and can't get you high. I must take all of the leaf that comes off the plant. I must weigh it. I must record the weight and I must put it in a locked compost facility, so it's just side. Big brother. The worry with believes that it's his hand smoke, believe. Why does it matter? Exactly Then there's the cost of operating legally a major reason, O'Neill says. Farmers he knows have decided to keep growing and selling marijuana illegally. For most people out here, the opportunity to participate does not exist the barriers to entry or too high. Costs are too high. The skill sets are too low. The flip side of it is, people are not going to jail for cannabis. And what's the cost to you? So when you factor in consulting fees You know, I just did a back of the napkin calculation. And over the last 34 years, I'm well over 50,000 into it $50,000 for white permits for permits for consulting $2500 a year for the Waterboard discharge permit. It's $750 a year for the pond permit. It's 1350 application fee to the county, plus another 6 75 when they actually give you the permit annually. Farm, this tiny for the smallest farm that there is, and that's one of the problems. Is that what does that do Your profits? What profits you not make any money right now? So where's the money being made in California? Turns out in the very place legalization was supposed to destroy the black market, which often operates out of storefronts like this in strip malls around the state. Susan listen, shops don't have to pay for state and local permits and conceal marijuana much cheaper because they don't charge customers marijuana taxes, which could reach as high as 45%. So it's cheaper and easier to buy pot on the black market, which is three times larger than the legal one. Unlike other industries, we have this kind of in the shadows unspoken about competitors, right and So it's like it's not like California's fully raging, fully legal really were building to fully regulated state, but we're not. We're certainly not there yet

Multiple Arizona gyms defy executive order to close

"Corona virus in Arizona, Today's executive order will pause the operation of bars, gyms, movie theaters, water parks and tubing with a targeted reopening date. In 30 days like the governor used the word pause, which sounds better than I'm shutting these suckers down right? But that order on Monday set off what could be a flurry of lawsuits. We've already seen. One lawsuit filed against The state of Arizona in the governor. Of course, that's from mountainside, fitness and this injury. So here's how it played out for one mountainside fitness location yesterday, Scottsdale police tell our TV partners at ABC 15 that a little before 10 a.m. After receiving multiple reports of the location near 114th Street and Shay Was open officers showed up and provided education. They were told at that time by management that the location would remain open. They did. And when officers came back in the afternoon, they issued a citation to mountainsides. Chief operating officer A citation for a class one misdemeanor, which could mean a fine of up to 2500 bucks and possible jail time. You know, I'm guessing $2500 might really be a drop in the bucket to what they might face losses for being closed. Right. So maybe they're rolling the dice on that one hears mountainside Mountainside CEO Tom Hatton after several of his locations received the same. We don't feel this decision was fair. We think it was extremely arbitrary. It was placating to trying to look like we're doing something for Kobe and not really doing something prick owed. If the problem Um, is this serious? But they weren't alone. By the way, it's staying open. I'm seeing live shots on my monitors this morning in the studio Life time fitness facility in the valley. Apparently, there are several franchises that are staying open. Yeah. People working out you get. Ah Ah, are partners over at ABC, 15 had actually a live shot into the mountainside fitness location. That's near 56. And Shay and you could actually see people in their working out. They have resumed in individual people on, you know, ah, the treadmills and lifting weights and stuff. Yeah. Orange Theory said they're going to stay open. Pure bar A. Which is, you know, one of those bar workout ballerina? Yeah, yeah, not like a bar like they're serving drinks valet. Yet they say their their studios or boutiques, not a typical gym, So they say they don't have to shut down. Ah, sorting through all this is Going to be crazy, but this could lead to a flurry of lawsuits against the governor from some other Types of
