California Governor Candidate Larry Elder's Message to Voters

"Larry Elder. Um, what is the message that you want to say to the people listening all over California? Obviously you've gone through the issues and so forth. But That they must turn out. They must turn out in large numbers. They can't leave it to other people to do the heavy lifting for them, right. Well, that's exactly right. Mark, you know. Are you happy? Forget about Larry Elder. Are you happy that for the very first time, people are leaving the state? Are you happy that the price of a home has just now hit $800,000? Are you happy stepping over homeless people? Are you happy about needles on Venice Beach? Are you happy about the crappy education People are getting K through 12 while spending $15,000 a pop. Per year per student. Are you happy with all of that? Well, if you are, then maybe you want to retain this guy. But if you're not, how about some change? How about some common sense? Are you happy that this state is running out of water? Israel is a desert country mark. We've got a little body of water next to them called the Mediterranean. They've been able to figure it out would be solid nation plants. We have a little body of water next to what's called the Pacific Ocean. And we can't figure this out. Are you happy with how severe these forest fires are? Are you happy that $30 billion was stolen from the employment Development Department money that was supposed to be for the unemployment for Californians money that was stolen, but people in prison filing for unemployment benefits and getting them people, criminals in Nigeria, filing for unemployment benefits and getting them $30 billion stolen. Are you happy with all of that? If you're not go to elect elder dot com And throw something in the tip jar because my opponent Mark can raise and spend an unlimited amount of money. And he's doing just that. From the usual suspects. The teachers union, the public sector unions, Hollywood big terror, So throw something in the tip jar. Make this a bit of a fair fight. If you're not happy with what's going on in California, which is why people are leaving the state taking their jobs with them.

"I'm not trying to rush through and finish the fastest possible just kind of enjoying life and making in each of these moments that feel nice number four film in everything so kind of going in that same topic. I think a lot of us myself are looking for that next level. Film that next amount of money the next business that next customer that next relationship that next thing in the kind of reflected through therapy that all this fulfillment is just right now and really noticing. What's calling us. Following gut trusting intuition and just getting fulfillment through making this video game from just like handled. My parents not doing anything. It's like oh this is fulfilling film. It is all. It's all all time you can just give it to yourself whenever you want number five giving permission to how life can be. This is kind of you know as we get older. Especially if you're eighteen if you're in your forties early in your sixties and plus. I noticed that there'd be they're like hey you know you can do whatever you want. That might be looking around like seriously again. Duck yeah you do whatever you want and so. It's almost strange to get permission. But it's also liberating that they can say. Hey if you wanna go live in these different places where now in the new mexico at my family house. And then i'm gonna go to dallas and then austin and it's like hey you how you wanna live this way you can. And so that's been one of the nice things about therapy is also kind of like reinforcing that we can live life the way we want. So look i'm going to give a quick recap of all. The things are different. Talked about ninety. Nine percent of people would benefit probably going to see a therapist. No one has a perfect life but therapy helps you move in that direction. I'm saying you have to go see a therapist whatsoever. But if there's been some things that you want to work on that you haven't found one way to do it that's been effective. Might be worth considering. Trying that out to therapy is not cheap. And it's not a magic pill that will change overnight. It won't fix it. And i know that i get scared on dependence. You were like. I'm going to go to therapy. And they're gonna fix me. They won't answers are all inside. One of the main slogans. That i think about especially lately is the phrase. It's all good. It's all good and you know as i said earlier. We are perfect. You are the are two and it is all good in therapy will just help you work through some of the things to kind of make life a little bit more colorful and maybe dust off some of the parts of life that you're actually not enjoying any wanna change three. You can get eighty percent of the things that you wanna prove and on your life from books from youtube videos maybe for friends and family but sometimes doing it alone is really hard. I'm not saying it's the therapy is the only way but something that if you haven't been able to solve it another way maybe even iowa does not help you. There is a really interesting outlet to have someone that you can talk to you about the problems that you want to think about and works so lassie. If you don't want to go therapists if you're not comfortable or maybe it sounds expensive. Check out some of the books..

"It down and just enjoy it. And so i think the point about the first one is a premium but also realize that not everyone is going to be magical so you might have these huge breakthrough marginal gains. It might taper off but figure out the right amount of cadence of talking to this person that is beneficial for you. So if it's once a week or once a month just figure out the right amount of time to actually get the gains that you want in your life so recognize. They are had to help you figure out how to solve your problems. I've had it both ways. Where i've had therapists tell me what to do. I literally was therapists. And austin and i said tell me what to do in my relationship. And he's like here's what you should do. And then i didn't do it for the next three years and then i finally did say sometimes it takes time but i think the thing that you're really trying to get out of therapy or brain coach you could say is that they're helping you figure out how to solve prompt. So how can i approach my relationship. How can i approach my work or whatever problems that you're going to therapy about. That is what a successful therapist should be doing. Then last year said the skin. But i wanna emphasize so important. Realize therapy is a place where you bring problems. Not solution so every week therapy. I get asked this today. It says what do you want to get out of the session and that will give me anxiety on you. I don't know what a better life. Now what you know what we all want. So here's a few other questions. You're probably thinking about In relation to therapy number one how to choose therapists and this is a really tough one like how to choose a white to do business partner. How did you. What's for dinner sometimes. It's pretty hard. So here's some suggestions number one referral so if you had any friends that are messed up. I guess the. I thought i had or people that have talked about their. Ask him if they found it beneficial. Tucker max and his wife recommended the person i've gone to my business coaches someone who have worked within the past and really appreciated him and referrals isn't amazing. One another thing. I've used as talk. Space dot com and it worked all right. You can get a lot of different profiles..

"Mitchell arching talked about is that you don't need for something to go wrong to go to therapy and it doesn't have to be every day every week. You're going but it might be something that. Hey i want to just work through things before they even happen. And then lastly it's like a gym for your brain. There's gyms for physical health. This is kind of one for mental health. Why not to partout. Here's some of the changes that i've made from going to therapy. Maybe you can relate to as well so one looking at work differently. I one of the therapists. That was really interesting. Was asking the why of what i'm doing and really embracing that and so i'm making videos for you. Sexy bastards out there sharing them with the world and he kept poking at. He's like why are you doing. Why does it matter and one. You could psych yourself out of anything but i thought it was really helpful that he is really helping me. Get to the point of like. Why would make videos. Because i love to see people like you. Underdogs make results and changes for yourself. That really fulfils me. And so i think him asking that is helping forge my belief in what i'm really working on so that was really huge too was evaluating might drinking and drug usage. Even playing chess talked about a little bit about. Maybe why you go to therapy. But i noticed at times. I was escaping feeling as escaping. If i go onto my chest stuff. And i'm just starting to do it or if i'm drinking and the therapist just not telling you what to do. I think a great therapist doesn't tell you what to do. These reflect how you're behaving in saying. Maybe that's something you want to work on but there are kind of encouraging me to just be okay with the feeling in notice what you wanna do. When you're feeling that one of their said before that was really interesting is like. Who is noah kagan. If he's not interesting. I was like what the fuck so sometimes you know what it means that. There's something powerful about that insight. You're saying like you're not interesting if you're just yourself who are you. Are you okay with that. I like that. He said that three for me was slowing down or aka the opposite of the microwave light. May we can put a microwave here. You're so what am i gonna hit the button boom cook. It comes out ready to eat. And i noticed that one thing that they were talking about just slow down right. Don't rush to the end of life. Don't i know you know that ended. Titanic but why don't you just enjoy the whole movie..

"Checked every single one of them years ago. I went to a therapist. I sat down in chair in this room. And he starts asking me questions and he asked me about my business partner. Chad who i started op. Zoom dot com wet. And he says well. How do you feel about chad. I started crying uncontrollably and it was a really strange sensation to realize how much emotion i had built up about my business partner. And that's what. I was talking about therapy and especially nowadays for therapy. I don't know what you think about. When i say the word therapy what is across your mind for a lot of people still kind of a weird thing like oh. Something's wrong with me the same time. We're willing to go to people that we need help with in other areas so this video. I wanna talk about therapy. everything. I've learned in therapy over the past ten years. Fifteen thousand dollars because for a lot of people. It's unknown expensive time consuming and you kind of wonder. Is this going to really work for me. So i wanna share everything. I've learned to help you make a better decision are gonna cover four major things in his video number one. go number to some of the changes that maybe you can relate to that experienced therapy number three questions. You're probably asking yourself about there being about your life and number four. Make sure to stick to the end. 'cause i'm gonna save you the fifteen thousand dollars. I've spent some high level concepts. I think will really help you on your life in business journey. So should you go to therapy or not. I'm just going to tell you the two major reasons why started going to therapy this year. And i've gone to their be off and on for the past ten years. It hasn't been a consistent thing for me. There's there's been two major reasons number one. My business wasn't fulfilling. I don't that's something similar that you can relate to but for the past three years at tynecastle youtube soffer stuff but it never really felt called like excited to come make a video and do stuff like this like to do now and i wasn't finding an answer to how to figure that out. Second reason was. I broke up in relationship. We broke up and i was feeling confused about relationships. Like almost forty. Don't have kids. What does that mean. And what do i really want versus what society in some invisible force really want for me. And there's all this internal conflict. Like i don't know if you feel that the internal conflict of like where should i go here go there. What should i be working on. What's wrong with my house. What's wrong with this and etc but there's honestly nothing horrible. I know i feel a little ashamed..

But basically you're betting on companies to fail so that you could make money. We're going to get together and we're gonna buy, buy buy, And as the share price goes up, you lose. Potentially billions of dollars. Huh? Huh? Huh? But he's not. I mean, not shorting but didn't like Romney do something like that, where him and his company would take over companies and they would borrow or spend off of their credit and then bankrupt the company, the company I don't know if Romney did it, but certainly that has been in the past What these hedge funds have done, and this is perfectly legal. They take a short position they without explaining how you're short a stock. They're basically betting that a company is not going to go well do well and that a stock price world will fall. But Elon Musk has been doing battle with the short sellers on Tesla for years, and by the way, they have lost their shirts. Yeah, He's the test list. Stocks insane, and he's been taunting them all the way up. And so now these these, it's like one of our anchors described it as occupy Wall Street. Not with money. Well, that's interesting. But Jane, don't the people that bought you know all the people on Reddit and all the you know the day traders. They don't have a ton of money. Maybe they have, like, you know, 10 $15,000 in the market, whatever. And they bought a lot of you know these stocks that are being shorted like Gamestop Gamestop today, don't they have A real You know, horrible chance of losing money because that stock is gonna go down. Yes. So look, Um, but that's all of them. It's free market. You have smart people who are getting in and out of her mouth. Paula, Half a Tia, who wants to run for governor of California was one of these who jumped in and said, Yeah, he's a Silicon Valley guy was part of the Gavin news on buying. I'm buying Well, then he comes on our air today and says, You have already got rid of my position. So he made a killing. But this, you know somebody who's maybe not sophisticated and that's all right. You know, It's your right. If you want to go out and lose your money you're now you bought it at you know, 3 50 or whatever, By the way, game stop is now after hours down 2 to 92. So it's given starting to the sell off is beginning whether you know people buy on the dips. Tomorrow it goes back up. We don't know. Same with AMC Entertainment, the theater industry Here's a funny thing, Tim. These people are trying to stick it to the man by by making these guys who are short squeezing them so that they lose so much money. They gotta cover their shorts. They gotta buy stock. All this craziness driving the stock price higher. Who's really benefiting from this? The man's man be really, really rich people who say they're not short of this doctor. Here's a perfect example. Tootsie Roll. Role has become one of these Reddit chat room. Let's buy it took to roll cause these hedge funds have a short position on it, you know, is benefiting the 88 year old matriarch, this woman Who is like what? The stock's done nothing for 20 years, and now it's up 50%. I'm worth $200 million more than I was a week ago. She's benefiting not your job blow on Main Street, right? But there was again. Jane Wells is with us. There was a there was a guy in Florida. Alone $72 million where the game stop. And you know this morning or yesterday when he woke up. Distilleries no longer have to pay fee after HHS reverses policy on cover costs

"The feds have reversed the decision to force distilleries to pay for making hand sanitizer. When PPE and hand sanitizers were in high demand, the makers of booze decided to use their skills to make the much needed portable sanitizers. But because the production of hand sanitizers falls into the category of drug making, the distilleries had to register with the FDA. And soon after the FDA sent an invoice to those distilleries, charging them a $15,000 drug maker feed yesterday, those fees were rescinded, and officials apologized and official with health and human services added small businesses who stepped up to fight covered. 19 should be applauded by their government not taxed for doing so.

"New York and New Jersey. Becoming Mohr Corona virus Positive again. One thing's for sure. We are becoming Mohr Corona virus nervous again. But the latest headlines tell a mixed story. Corona virus cases are up 15% nationwide another headline that has a relationship to this area. Laurel Park synagogue with covert positive rabbi still holding large indoor prayer services, despite $15,000 fine, by the way, something very similar. Happened in Israel the other day. Hi, Brian. Good morning. Can you flesh that out a little bit or Fletch out each of those a little bit hospitalizations, air rising even as the percentage of new tests coming back positive. He's going down. So what I can say is that hospitalizations along with the positivity rate, which is the percentage of people testing positive are the two main indicators. That public health officials watch. Um it's a little bit confusing because hospitalizations tends to be thought of as a lagging indicator. So these may have been people who you know, during, you know that the positivity rate has been on the rise last week, so we could be that these were people who were testing positive. And then found themselves getting sick and having to go to the hospital. But I have to say it's still not entirely clear because these numbers also bounce around a fair bit, so it's not like there's been Um, you know, one day after another, a steady increase. On some days, you'll see that it goes up and not on other days, you'll see that it goes down, and that's certainly the case when you look at local data. In New York City. If you go to New York City's Corona virus data page, you'll see that that hospitalization number has been just going bouncing up and down, and it's not really clear. Um, Is this a serious trend? Obviously, the other number we're looking in conjunction with that is the positivity rate and for that we still been staying, like, like the governor stated like statewide. It's still been around 1% here locally, it's still around 1.5%. So Definitely two numbers that we're looking at here is Governor

You know that victim messages is kind of frustrating to me day but you are right. I'm hearing get you're hearing it but here's what I'm also hearing that it is possible. Here's what I am hearing sharing that with work with dedication with living with intention Audi I was able to go to school. One hundred percent debt free I have several testimonies thousands of testimonies of of not just parents but even student saying hey I did it and I have high school student saying I'm about to do it. Who'll debt free? What are the the number one thing Dave is? You've got to pick your most affordable school as far Zane school doesn't have to be expensive because average in state schools when a caution who are between six and eleven eleven thousand dollars go there within one year and so you have to choose the best. That's within your budget so your budget is to say ten thousand dollars a year. The NASA the school that unique be going towards. You don't need to pick a scooter. Some costs you twenty thousand dollars number one decision at you can make is the school. That's within your budget number two. Is You got to tests step back and say you know what I'm GonNa keep debt off the table. This is no credit cards. No student loans. We're not financing. Nothing ruining look at all options. And let's just say for an example. You don't have enough scholarship. She couldn't come up with enough money. Then we're going to look at a community school maybe a trade school Okay 'cause we're going to step back and make sure that we're below that budget and then there's three main things up on Easter you're GONNA work work. Nineteen about nineteen to twenty hours a week. You WanNa save by choosing an in state school number three. Are you gonNa find someone you can look. US From Grand Scholarships and when we say we don't say You know work at minimum wage. Those are You know babysitters make twenty dollars an hour now. Some good money yeah. People Cutting Grass MC twenty dollars an hour. We interviewed a young kid who was nineteen walking dogs and he made five thousand dollars in one month from just walking dogs. I said I'm in the wrong. The business really. He's a dog as a dog walking. Dog Babysitter he was walking dolls. Sixty grand a year. I think that will get you there school way. He did that just during the summer. Oh da summer to just doing okay. Yes that was his month and that's that's him up for half of his year or more. Yes half the year or more nasty if you go to to instate schools that set him up just two months paid for his whole year now first tuition very very so. That's it so work yes Pick a school. You can afford as well. I WanNa go to school because the better school you go to the more likely you are be successful day. We are known. This studies have not proven affect at all. And it's not about if you're if you're smart you're smart is not about where you graduate from to me is all about how you graduate if you graduate one hundred percent debt free if you live with attention outta you have hard work at your young men of character you willing to put in a work you will be successful ready started community college in in transferring graduate from in-state stay school loans. You have those four things you really focus. In determined to be successful you will be successful and we were doing the Borrowed Future Future podcasts. Seth Godin made a really good point. "Loan debt are going to college debt that free. He's the author of the Number One bestselling book debt three degree then on media in New York all week this week and just got home. And so he's GonNa come in here and hang out with the lowly Dave Ramsey show after doing all the big shows so Cool stuff out onto have anthony back in the building in the show. If you've got questions as a college student or about college students are about going to school or about getting out of debt. College student loan debt in particular. You can call right now. We've opened up a couple couple of lines. The phone number is triple eight. Eight two five five two two five. That's triple eight eight to five five to five in the lobby of Ramsey Solutions Russians on the debt. Free stage. Kelly's with us. Hey Kelly how are you. I'm very nervous but I'm excited to be here Dave. How're you honored to have you? We've never lost a patient. We'll make it together okay. You can do this all right. Where do you live actually live here in town? Oh a local all right cool so in Nashville or in Williamson County. So I live in Nashville this year. I'm from California originally but I've lived in Nashville for about seven years so very cool and hair to do a debt free scream. How much have you paid off close to twenty eight thousand dollars and about eight eight months good for you and your range of income during that much am I started off close to eighty thousand dollars and gross of one hundred and five thousand nice nice jump in eight months? What do you do for a living? I work at escape day SPA as a massage therapist. And then I also AMI personal trainer. Okay wow so you're just you're you're just hustling Andrews get busy working law. And that's what's driving. That is good for you. Well done what kind of debt is twenty eight thousand I. It was a mix a lot of it was it was student loans. It was medical bills credit cards for sure. And then also I paid off my car. Yeah you love it very cool. how Old Korea? Twenty four twenty four years old. Paid off all your debt. Yeah what in the world happened to you. Eight months ago you went crazy Kim. Oh I did. I was ready you to finish what I started a few years back. I moved here to the city when I was eighteen years old and I knew that in order to make it on my own. I didn't have to be rich but I did have to be financially smart so my second I got my first job at a waffle house and I was able to work my way through school and then once I graduated I was making about thirty five thousand dollars so my I actually started this journey back then but along the way I just I felt like there was always something that would knock off course at one point I lost everything and I was living in my car and I didn't have any money to even get back home so I was able to restart move on from that and I got a really good job and once I was almost there again. I fractured my back and I didn't have any health insurance drowning in medical debt. I was living credit cards But I was able to do it again and that time I was like okay. I'm GonNa make it happen this time. So a year ago my only resolution was to pay off my debt and I wasn't going to put my energy anywhere else So Oh I just started saying yes to more clients and not going out with friends so often that they just stopped invited me out but about eight months later on September seventeenth. I actually paid my final payment and I became completely debt-free. I'll love it very well done very well. Okay so how old are you in this story when you're in your car. I was newly twenty one so two years after you came to town and Three years ago okay. So how do you go. What did you do because you're in the car obviously didn't have a place to live and dog? Did you have a job at that point I did. All of my money was going towards hotels because I needed to shower and asleep so I would go to. Hotels tells law and then whenever I would run out of money I would sleep like I would get a good week a month to where I was able to sleep in a hotel I was able to crush on a friends couch every once in a while. All of my money was going towards food. How did you break out of that and get back into quote More of a normal situation. Yeah so those three and a half months I was doing i. I was like in a fog and I couldn't really tell you in exact reason I just know that one one morning I woke up and I know I was in the target parking lot and when I woke up that morning I really I felt like I just woke up. Something in just like sparked up again and I found that drive and I found that motivation to find myself again and I just I got an apartment and I kept working and I was just able to keep going so there's not like one specific reason. It was immediately after that target parking lot morning. You scraped together. The money got an apartment. She just didn't think you could before I could have. I was just so numb at the time. There was a lot going on in my life that I let trek depressed. Wow which is hard to believe looking at you right now is nothing nothing depressing at all. Not that fog of depression. Depression is real. It keeps your logic from working. Yeah it really does show. Once you woke up in a fog cleared. You just said I just need to get a place. Yes that easy yes and I made it happened. Really wasn't actually a financial blocker as much as it was just a mental blocker. Yea but that hurt my finances because I was almost I almost paid off debt and and once I almost did I use all of my money to like do whatever it was. I was doing so you had to turn it around. And so how did you get connected with us to begin the New Year's years resolution and do this months and so I love the bobby bones show. I always listen to them everyday and then you have been on their show a few times. So that's how I heard of you and my first month when I started this. I downloaded your book on audible and I listen to your book probably about three times in the first month at just over and over and over and I listen to your podcast every today to stay motivated and I would hear people doing the debt free screams and I would get the chills every time and I was like. I can't wait to be there. I'M GONNA be there so I did it to keep you motivated and here here I am. So I'm bobby. In the whole crew over their friends of ours. They'll be very proud of you very proud of you. That's a neat thing. It's a good connection are all right. Wait a cow. So who are your biggest cheerleaders while you were doing this and that eight month period of time my parents for sure. My Dad didn't exactly know who you were so he didn't quite understand exactly what I was doing and my mom wasn't really a fan of you. She doesn't really believe in like the day way but she respected that. That was the way that I wanted to do it and she was there. She answered the phone every time I was just like. Hey I paid off a credit card or if I wanted to talk anything with her she was assured me on and my parents taught me a lot growing up. We had a lot of money and when the economy hit in two thousand eight we lost everything and we didn't have any savings so I was able to see both sides of having money and then not having anything. My Dad had to start working again and we had to move into a smaller house so I was able to see both sides so I learned from them to have the means to take care of yourself. If win you can lose everything because you can lose everything without even being your fault so I love them for that and actually because of you because of this journey I was able to take my my mom on a trip for her birthday and I paid for it completely in cash. So thank you for that. I didn't pay for your well done. Congratulations thank you. You're an incredible young lady out an incredible journey. You've been on. And if you do all this about twenty-five I mean boring from now on I mean something else else to do the new crisis for adventure. Well done very very well done. We've got a copy of Chris. Hogan's book for you every day millionaires. I suspect you're going to be one. Yeah I know this going to change your family tree. This is your change this. This is good very very well done. Well proud out of you. Excellent job all right. This is Kelly from Nashville. Twenty eight thousand dollars paid off in eighteen months making eighty thousand one hundred and five live counted down. Let's hear a debt free scream a year ago. I never thought I'd be here so I'm excited to finally say I. I'm not in three years ago in the target parking lot for sure. You didn't think he'd be here. Wow.
