BP CEO pay doubles to $12M as high energy costs surge profit

"VPC and took in more than double his salary from last year, waking in a hefty $12 million, the huge pay packet was thanks to soaring energy costs which have allowed oil and gas companies to make record profits while squeezing households and small businesses. The disclosure came a day after rival Shell reported a similar multi $1 million pay package for its top executive. The announcement comes not long after both companies posted their highest ever annual earnings last month, the fat profits for oil giants and their top executives have spurred demands for companies to do more to shield consumers from high energy costs, many critics in Britain have called for expanding taxes on the windfall profits of energy companies and taxing bonuses Karen Chammas London

Was Alexander Vindman Trying to Profit Off the Ukraine War?

"Jack posobiec is my co host for the full hour. Just kind of build out a little bit more. How did you obtain these documents? Alexander vindman is pitching the Ukrainian government and time of war for something he would obviously make a lot of money off of. Why is this significant? Well, Charlie, this is significant because we've received a briefing that was conducted in September of 26 of 2022 from Alexander vindman, vindman, his twin brother, as well as an individual named Steven M Anderson called the Ukrainian weapons systems sustainment center concept overview. Now there's a company that's inman and his brother have set up called tried and support as a defense contractor. What they are trying to do. So Charlie, you remember this, that the big fight in veneman was out there all last year, saying we need to send more tanks to Ukraine, more tanks, more weapons, bigger tanks, bigger weapons, bigger bombs, bigger missiles, airplanes, aircraft, and not just the old Soviet stuff, no, no, no. We need to send the American stuff. We need to send the high top shelf kind of equipment over to Ukraine. Well, while he was doing that publicly, the same individual Alexander veneman, who played a massively outsized role in destabilizing the relationship between the United States, Ukraine, and Russia. On the back end, what was he doing? When he wasn't on MSNBC demanding the tanks be sent over, he was pitching the Ukrainian government to give him a contract to defense contract for millions of dollars up to $12 million just to get started to do what? He wanted to create a maintenance and logistics center to be staffed. Not of course, by him. You know, he's never actually put on the uniform and going over to join the volunteer forces here. No, no, no, no, no. Vindman wants the contracts to get the money from the middle, which is of course underwritten by the United States government, which is obviously underwritten by you, the taxpayer, the American people. Because he wants to put these logistic centers for those American tanks, those American vehicles, that American equipment, he wants the maintenance contracts for at Charlie. It's a grift.

Sam Bankman-Fried Secretly Handed $27M to a Major Crypto News Site

"Well, holy Friends. I honestly shouldn't have been surprised. When your business ethics compasses twisted enough to do the mental gymnastics to justify plowing billions of customer funds into your failing hedge fund, I guess it was inevitable that more dubious deals were going to be uncovered. Still, I will admit shock at the utter praise of what was revealed on Friday evening. Late Friday afternoon, news broke that crypto news website to block or more specifically its CEO, Michael McCaffrey, had been receiving secret funding from Sam bankman fried since early 2021. To be specific and clear the block CEO Michael McCaffrey received a series of loans to his holding company. McCaffrey claims that the first two loans for a total of $27 million were used to fund day to today operations at the block. McCaffrey used a third loan taken earlier this year for 16 million, in part to purchase personal real estate in The Bahamas. McCaffrey claims that no one else knew about the loans and that the editorial and research teams were not influenced by Sam's funding of the company. McCaffrey resigned on Friday effective immediately with chief revenue officer Bobby Moran, stepping in to helm the company. On Friday, December 9th, McCaffrey tweeted, I have difficult news to share. I'm stepping down as the block CEO. While it's personally painful, it's the right thing for the block and the team. Editor's note, don't talk about your personal pain when you've been involved in deceptive fraud. Anyway, back to McCaffrey's tweets. In early 2021, the block was in a precarious place, and I was evaluating whether to sell, merge or restructure. The only option the materialized was to restructure when I was able to obtain a $12 million loan for my holding company from SPF in February of 2021. Sorry I don't mean to keep doing this, but another editor's note. That wasn't the only option. Deceptively taking money from a crypto billionaire for your crypto journalism site. That was the option that allowed you to do what you wanted. Those are not the same thing. Anyway, back to McCaffrey's tweets. Cologne was to an entity I own and the funds were used to affect the restructuring. In early 2022, there was an additional $15 million loan to strengthen the business's position. I didn't disclose the loan to anyone. Absolutely no one at the block knew about the financial arrangement between my holding company and SPF, including the editorial and the research teams. My rationale undoubtedly poor judgment in hindsight was that the knowledge of the loan might be seen to compromise the objectivity of their coverage of SPF in his related entities. Editors note you think,

Robby Starbuck Unpacks the Censorship Efforts of the Biden DHS

"Now is Robbie starbuck, great guy who should be in Congress and we'll see if we can get that done one day, but he has some really important commentary and information to share about the bombshell story, the media has ignored of the Department of Homeland Security leaks, Robbie joins us now. Robbie, welcome back to the program. Thanks for having me, Charlie. Good to see you. Robbie, for those in our audience that are not caught up to date to this story because there just got a lot of things going on. We've been so focused on the election, which is where we should be focused. Walk us through this story. Yeah, so I mean, it's pretty wild. This is honestly groundbreaking in many different ways in terms of the lines crossed by the U.S. government, but essentially Department of Homeland Security and State Department, both coordinated with a group called the EIP, which stands for the election integrity partnership. It's composed of four entities. Those four entities have been given over $12 million in grants by the Biden administration, including over 3 million specifically earmarked for going and fighting misinformation through the EIP and as a part of this whole project. The EIP created an enemy's list that includes you and me and about 20 other people on it. What's unique about this list is when they made this, I was an active candidate for federal office. So this would be the first time the U.S. government has essentially engaged in open censorship paying a group and outside group to go and get involved in a political race. I'm sure given all the abuses we've seen from the FBI and DoJ that this is stuff that may have been going on for a very long time without people knowing, but they did this in a very bold manner. And so we saw the story from the intercept this week that kind of furthered this showing the portals that DHS and other entities had access to and these portals would allow outsiders within the EIP and within governments to go and make specific requests to the social media companies.

"Bitcoin price by the year 2031, which I believe, to be accurate, especially considering the having cycles and the way things typically go in the market in 2017, I got into crypto, the Bitcoin price ran up from 1500 when I got involved to 20,000 in one year. That was the year after the having, right? The year after the havings when we go parabolic, then four years later, we hit a new all time high of 69,000 eclipsing the old all time high of 20,000 by 3.5 X if we hypothetically 3.5 X again, this having cycle, we're talking about an insane Bitcoin price, ultimately 70,000 times three is like 200,000 plus, but be more realistic. Things don't always repeat. They tend to rhyme. So more realistic scenario, Bitcoin can two X very easily, in my opinion, after this having in 2024, which would put us at approximately a $130,000 Bitcoin. I would love to see that. I feel it's inevitable. Is there a guarantee? No, is this investment advice? Absolutely not. If you're going to invest in Bitcoin, you have to be willing to take the risk just as well as accept the rewards as Bitcoin can continue to crash from the current levels. We can continue to rise. Nobody knows it's unexpected. Nobody can predict the future, but that's what makes this also interesting at the end of the day. And that's why I'm so excited for Bitcoin in the future of crypto. "Of the crypto winter. Great point. Upper Joe bucks, dragon true, I don't think that. He put every single thing would be vulnerable. If quantum computers could crack Bitcoin, the whole world would be in trouble, but fortunately, the cryptography and crypto is way far superior than the most advanced supercomputer out there. So thank God for cryptography. I heard it's harder to crack a Bitcoin private key than it is to find a random grain of sand on this planet. It is extremely difficult. So just note that your Bitcoin is not getting hacked anytime soon. Tough cookie put Elon the buyer will buy. It is crazy, the amount of spam bots on crypto Twitter, but it is what it is. Oz gore wrote Bitcoin can only reach new all time high when the fed starts printing USD. This is the dilemma. Well, we know for a fact the fed will continue to print money printer continue to go, that's a given, so there's no doubt there. As a girl, I also put nothing matches the beauty of the greenbacks. Bit bud put as long as the DXY rises, everything, including Bitcoin, will fall. It does seem that inversely correlated, and when the dollar index drops Bitcoin and assets continue on their own way on their own vector as well. So potential decoupling ahead, what's good, Chris minko. Welcome to crypto news alerts. Live in the flesh. This is no more pre recorded nonsense. This is me going live. Sharing what's going on? So you can see a live price feed. Know what's going on in the market because I know time is of the essence. When I used to have to record and pre record and edit, I mean, the editing process is an hour nightmare of itself. So by the time I deliver the news in an edited fashion, though it was fast paced and cool, at the same time, a few hours out of date, whereas now we're in the flesh and live in real time. So I think that will make a major difference. So hopefully you guys are appreciating it. Modern assumption and financial markets is that the bonds are hedges against stocks when stocks decline in price. This is called the 60 40 portfolio. This is failing. This was built upon the world of lies. Well, thank you for sharing that. Good to note, Bitcoin, srini. Good to see you. Welcome. Good to see you live. Yes, live and in the flesh in real time. Crypto news alerts two. CNA pod makes some noise if you're appreciating the live feed. UK printed more recently and probably more on the horizon. Absolutely. The average taxpayer is being robbed, and the average person doesn't even know what's going on. They're probably looking forward to CBDCs for all we know. "And again, this is probably based upon Elon news of purchasing Twitter. I would imagine online brokerage at Robinhood currently owns the address holding the largest amount of Dogecoin. So again, the app Robinhood is the biggest HODLer of Dogecoin, a stash worth $2.5 billion, which is nearly a third of the total supply. So how many of you are actually hobbling doge or bullish on doge, whether it be because you like the crypto, you like the meme, or you just like Elon and you think it can pump and you can potentially earn a lot of money by holding it. Let me know your honest insincere thoughts in the comments right down below. And with that being shared, now let's get into some predictions of a 7 figure Bitcoin price. I feel it's inevitable. So the real question is when will Bitcoin realistically hit a $1 million and heck, when will Bitcoin hit $12 million? Because Robert breedlove made that bold prediction. So first and foremost, let's get back here. I want to share this tweet by Dennis Porter. He says, my views, and you let me know in the comments below. When do you feel realistically like genuinely that Bitcoin will hit a $1 million? Throw the year out there. I'd love to know, and I'm going to read those comments later. My view is on Bitcoin remain unchanged. $1 million plus per coin is an inevitable and Ari Paul responded. Nothing is inevitable. Dennis responded, you are right. If the earth falls out of orbit and into the sun, then yes, maybe Bitcoin won't hit. $1 million, and then RE says, or are we just going to repeat what more serious consequences of what happened three years ago, a bit main controlling asic production and slipping and hardware backdoors or next sovereign won't just force relocation, but confiscate hash power, don't pretend the risk aren't real and Dennis responded, you should be more worried about the asteroid hitting earth and wiping out humankind or an alien overlord showing up and breaking all of our cryptography. What then? He makes a great point. And RA responded why I think we should all be more worried about the probable risk that we have already seen in our wild in our world, I guess he means your wild statement would be an accurate if you had experienced 5 near asteroid collisions in the last 5 years. This is, I think, taking it a little too far. With the asteroids and what could potentially happen. But nonetheless, we all know a $1 million is inevitable. So with that being said, let's get into this $12 million Bitcoin price prediction by Robert breedlove, the founder of crypto investment firm parallax digital.

"How many of you actually attended that event? Let me know. I was there and I actually had a pretty good time. But now let's break down our next story of the day and let's get on to some XRP versus the SEC in this long winded lawsuit which has been getting a dragged out. So we have ripple labs protesting that the U.S. SEC moved to block third party evidence and the lawsuit, the regulatory agency filed against them. And according to the evidence, pro chord, procured, sorry, by defense lawyer James fill in, ripple recently penned the letter to the judge, Torres, saying that the SEC is mischaracterizing, the law by moving the contest, third party briefs submitted by I remit and tap jets quitting them here. The SEC mischaracterizes both the briefs and the law when it claims that the pro preferred amicus briefs of I remit and tap jets constitute improper attempts by the movements to offer evidence outside of discovery, restrictions, the rules of evidence and of the courts prior order, the I remit and tap jets are independent third parties, otherwise unconnected with this legislation. The seek permission to file briefs offered to the court. They're important perspective on whether industry participants invested in XRP, whether they expected profits from defendants, efforts, and how the SEC's theory of this case, if adopted by the court, would adversely impact their businesses, they provide the court with information concerning their business operations and industries to support their perspectives. There is nothing wrong with that. So there you have it. And now let's discuss why this court case is so important for the entire crypto industry at large. And the reason for it is there's a lot riding on this. The SEC is obviously overreaching their power and the crypto industry. They're not providing any clarity. Gary gensler is pretty much useless. So we still don't have any clarity or regulation for crypto adoption. But that's all strategically by design. If you read between the lines, there are obviously trying to push this back, something and alignment with their CBDC rollout. So they don't want positive crypto sentiment right now in the industry. So they're making everything unclear because when things are unclear, it creates what we would refer to as uncertainty in the market, which creates more fear, which is why they're able to control things like the way that they do. And depending upon if XRP is considered a security or a bridge currency, obviously, we all know it's not really a security. The SEC themselves have called it not a security. But now they want to call it a security so they can go after much more and continue overreaching into the industry, which overall, I don't think is necessarily a good thing. I think clarity and regulation could be good for the mass adoption, but at the same time, they're using it against us and it just kind of is what it is at the end of the day. So what are your thoughts surrounding this case, do you feel it will end any time soon? Potentially before the end of this year, it would be nice to get a ruling very clearly and definitively is XRP, a security, yes or no, but I have a pretty good feeling that SEC is just going to continue attacking other cryptocurrencies. They also recently have stated and they never stated this before the Ethereum merge, but now they're saying that now that Ethereum has transitioned from a proof of work to a proof of stake that it is now considered a security and imagine Ethereum and all these ERC 20 tokens, it's going to be fair play for the SEC. That's why I think it's important personally that XRP win this case. But it's going to be interesting to see how it plays out.

"Exactly are the markets down right now? There's three main reasons we're going to touch upon number one, the Federal Reserve interest rate hikes. As you know, raising interest rates increases, the cost for consumers and businesses, and this has a knock on effect of business operational costs, the cost of goods and services, production costs, wages, and eventually the cost of everything like we're witnessing here this year. High inflation is the primary reason. The U.S. fed is raising these interest rates. And since rate hikes began in March of 2022, Bitcoin and the broader crypto markets have been witnessing a pretty massive correction. And yes, if you're joining right now, this is version two of crypto news alerts, podcast episode number, 1067, I'm your host JV and what version two where live in real time in the flesh, so make sure to blow up the comments if you appreciate the show now being live versus what I used to do is pre record and then edit and it was quite the process and then I would premiere live but now at version two as of episode 1067. We are live in the flesh and in real time. So if you're excited about that college boy in the comments below, now the second reason we're witnessing a down crypto market today is the persistent threat of regulation you've been hearing them talk about this for a long time. The crypto industry and regulators have a long history of not getting along as we obviously know you have Biden saying we need crypto regulate like Biden knows anything about crypto in the first place. It's all just really a huge joke. At the end of the day. So the lack of clarity on this matter weighs in on the growth and innovation within the sector. And the third factor is scams and Ponzi's triggered liquidations, which repeat. And this destroys investors confidence. Unfortunately, like stories like today, which I'm going to be covering with you here, a little shortly, like the binance hack, we're talking about half a $1 billion hack. It doesn't make people feel too comfortable with keeping their crypto, especially on exchanges. This is why we say every so often, of course, you need to take your crypto off the exchanges, put it in cold storage where it is protected at least you don't want your crypto in a honey honey pot and we actually witness this a lot in the industry where absolutely your crypto could end up getting stolen, it just becomes attack vector.

Sen. Ted Cruz: Everyday, More Illegals Should Go to Martha's Vineyard

"Ted Cruz says this should not be the end of all of this. He says that every day, every day we need to be sending more and more illegals to Martha's Vineyard, cut 11. To put in perspective, Martha's Vineyard is a town, its population is about 17,000. The median home price is over a $1 million. Let's compare it to Del Rio Del Rio is a wonderful town in Texas. It's down on the Rio Grande valley. It has a population of between 30 and 35,000. In one single day at Del Rio, there were 15,000 illegal immigrants, mostly Haitians, crossing illegally in one day, as you know, I went down to the bridge and I videoed over 10,000 illegal immigrants under that bridge, Martha's Vineyard lost their mind with 50 and the little town of Del Rio and towns all up and down the Rio Grande valley are dealing with hundreds or dealing with thousands. Let me say Sean, I commend Greg Abbott for sending the immigrants to these blue cities. I commend Ron DeSantis for doing so, and they need to do more tomorrow. Martha's Vineyard needs a hundred. The next day they need 200. The next day they need a thousand D.C. says it's a crisis to get 6000. They need 10,000 they need a 100,000. They need 500,000 because Joe Biden has allowed 4.2 million people to come in illegally. And I know these rich billionaires say, well gosh, you people just let them eat cake. Well, how about having the obamas host these 50 people in their $12 million compound? Wait a minute. No, no, no. None of them.

Tucker Carlson: Barack Obama Is Racist

"Obama's were in fact despised immigrants. So when they moved to a $12 million seaside compound on Martha's Vineyard, the point is not to live in luxury with other rich people. No, obviously, the point is to diversify Martha's Vineyard. To strike a blow for justice. That makes sense to us and we felt better. But then last night happened and we started to rethink our assumptions about the Obama it's about a lot of things. Because a plane load of highly diverse immigrants arrived on Martha's Vineyard to join the obamas, but the obamas didn't welcome them. There was not a word from Barack or Michelle Obama. Barack wasn't waiting at the airport to greet the diversifiers with flowers. He didn't issue a statement of congratulations. He didn't invite a single Venezuelan to his home. How come? Could it be that Barack Obama isn't really actually in real life in favor of diversity at all? Could it be that Barack Obama strongly prefers blond SoulCycle moms in Lululemon to sweaty third world campus sinos and dirty work pants? Could it be? We can't say. But we can tell you that if you want to find out what people really think, go ahead and ignore what they say and watch how they live. And by that measure, the one that matters Barack and Michelle Obama are every bit as bigoted as any board member in any restricted country club in the Deep South, assuming those still exist. Those people, they're not dating my daughter, I can tell you that. In other words, we learned this week that Barack Obama really is a racist and not in the way you've always assumed. Obama may heat white people, he certainly seems to, but he also demands to live around them and only them. But the obamas to be fair are not alone in this. His friends at the news networks in Washington, New York and Los Angeles feel exactly the same way because they're exactly the same sort of people. You want to talk real fierce Tucker's fears. Tucker Carlson: What Is Going on in the Georgia Senate Race?

"About Raphael Warnock leading in Georgia cut ten. In June, Democrats raised $64 million online from 4 million people. That same month, this June, Republicans raised only $26 million online from just over a million donors. From the first quarter to the second quarter of this year, donations to the Republican Party dropped by more than 12%. By contrast, donations to the Democratic Party are up more than 20%. That is not good at all, not simply because you need money to run a political campaign, but because money is to some extent a measure of commitment and intensity. And you see the same dynamic playing out in individual races across the country. For example, last quarter Raphael Warnock that would be the thoroughly mediocre democratic senator from Georgia, the guy who was caught on video appearing to commit spousal abuse and remember that that guy raised more than $12 million online. His opponent, Herschel Walker, who everyone likes, raised less than half of that. So far, Raphael Warnock has raised an astounding amount of money. He's hauled in more dollars online than 7 Republican senatorial candidates combined. Candidates in North Carolina, Pennsylvania, Nevada, Ohio, Florida, Wisconsin, and Georgia. Combined. Herschel Walker is now trailing Raphael Warnock by ten points. And this is happening in a state. They tell us when for Joe Biden by a margin of about one third of a percentage point. That is bizarre. What is going on here? And Tucker is right to be asking that question,

He thinks that the S and P 500 right now is really about 10% too high in terms of prices, and he expects it to come down significantly And that would be an opportunity to buy Caroline. If we could all have a senator or a dollar for every time we hear someone say a healthy correction and will start to be adding up a little bit. Meanwhile, in terms of a healthy correction, maybe it's an unhealthy set of numbers that you're seeing for the likes of Madonna today. Can see what durables with okay underperformer by 1.3%, But food and staples also falling Retailing index on the downside. We haven't talked about that. Well, massive bit of fake news that came in at the start of trading this morning regarding Walmart. Whether or won't be getting into Cryptocurrencies negated That story I might add, will dig into the light coin fandango a little bit later. Meanwhile, energy, though, is your key outperformer in terms of industries up 2.8%. That's his oil right time we see the commodity index go higher Banks. Also on the upside, even though yields were dipping a little bit today, and all those remain. You're telling us how GM was getting a bit of a bid and the likes those unionized makers seem to be getting a little bit of positive news today. Yes, Well, Caroline. I want to hit those gainers because you mentioned energy in particular. This is going to be really crucial because one the top ones is marathon oil. This is, of course, coming in anticipation of yet another hurricane, A tropical storm Nicholas on its way to Texas right now really kind of very close to the path of Hurricane Ida. Of course, you are seeing some of those refineries under pressure and therefore the crude market. And, of course, those energy stocks really anticipating that move? That's one of those Gaynor's. I also want to bring up a T and T because last week we heard about a deal doubt Jones reporting that fall. Box is nearing a potential deal to buy TMZ from AT and T. And looks like this is a stock that is still Getting some heavy trading volume. Of course, a couple of days later, interesting to keep in mind. You're also seeing semiconductor stocks up as on a day when you have a lot of big tech, really under pressure that drastic Golden Dragon Index, for example, down 1.1% at the close and yet semiconductor stocks up to him. Well, you got the gainers. I got the decliners. Let's start with Nike shares, finishing the day lower by 2.5% btg downgraded it to neutral from buy over supply chain concerns, essentially saying, Hey, demand is there, but the supply is the issue. We see those ongoing factory closures in Vietnam, and that could hurt the chances of people actually being able to get their hands. On the Nike gear that they want. Caroline, you mentioned Moderna shares falling by 6.6%. Today. A group of scientists in the Lancet argued that vaccines work so well that most people don't yet need a booster. That would mean we are buying less, uh, from Moderna and from Visor Advisory committee said to discuss this week. Pfizer and Biontech application of for their booster also keep an eye on Spc. Virgin Galactic. Finished the day down by close to 3.6%. The company delayed its first commercial space mission, this one with the Italian air Force. This is different than the issue that the F the FAA has raised. The FAA investigation related to that July flight. Still true is saying that it's not impactful to the long term thesis on the stock, but still finishing the day down. Close to three. God say sex this week. Sorry we got SpaceX to do. Yeah, it's set to launch from Vandenberg Air Force Base him arrested for space expert Meanwhile, let's look at what's on the higher side. When you're looking across asset across asset at the moment, I'm looking the currency vertical when you're looking at global macro movers on the high side, commodity related currencies within the Canadian dollar off three up 3/10 percent against the US dollar missing. No, we didn't Norwegian crown doing well as well by 3/10 of a percent. Why? Because this is a story of commodities. Really ramping higher. You just saw the headline coming across the Bloomberg Terminal of the Commodity Index and a fresh tenure. How you got alum in Ium. I'm going to say it that way up at the 13 year high natural gas at a 7.5 year high in that gas up almost 5% is where we saw at five. Spot. 182 wt could also getting a bid at 1.3% were at $70 spot. 65 wt crude why this is all about the ongoing wars of storms about the implication that has for production and, of course, some of the supply side wranglings When you're looking at alum in Ium, so clearly a money to be made in commodities. A mixed picture When you look at sovereign bonds, I'm seeing money move into the Japanese to year, for example, 2.5 basis points lower. Money moving into the U. S. That is will remain. You have more on that. Yes, absolutely. I mean, look, I mean, it was kind of a mixed day for Treasuries. We did see some beds coming here that pushed yields down here on the day here. Of course, A lot of this is really the setup for what's going to happen in about 16.5 hours time. When we get that U. S CPI data here, it will be interesting to see how not only how the long and the curve Reacts, but that belly of the curve that we used to talk about a lot and whether or not that sort of one print here and you add it up with the previous two prints that we have, which, of course, we're a little bit of a shocker. Whether that's enough to sort of drive the perception here that maybe this is a little bit more than transitory, Tim Yeah, I'm keeping on Oracle because shares just crossing the Bloomberg right now. First quarter adjusted revenue coming in below expectations. 9.73 billion versus estimates of 9.77 billion shares lower by about 2.7% right now, Justin MPs coming in a dollar in three of beating estimates, the remains of 97 cents Yes. Just sorry. While you were speaking to you. I was looking at a crossing the wire into it doing a big deal here. This is for a male champ. Of course. Anyone who listened to a podcast can't get away from those darn ads. But apparently those ads are worth $12 billion billion is higher than 10 billion. That was earlier reported. Yeah, This was a big deal here for into it, Of course. And really, I mean, obviously a big deal for our mail chimp with a $12 million valuation. But what I think is interesting about this guys is really the idea that into it gives that opportunity here to kind of diversify its business a little bit, and this could have some huge implications for the company. Should this be pulled off and we should point out this is yeah, They did put out a statement. So that's coming in 12 million bucks. I mean, it's interesting that amid this narrative, we will be wondering what the direction of big tech and small tech is going to be in this inflationary outlook. If we do get a C P trend. Print that runs hot tomorrow. If we do then foresee interest rates to be on the rise. What does that mean? For your growth story? Your key growth names for these slightly smaller tech names such as into it. Does that still remain the by and what's interesting. Also, as you see these companies really switching it up on investors and investing in the future via MNH via technology, and, regardless of interest rates, you do generally see investors rewarding..

"This is a special edition of balance of power on Bloomberg Television and radio. As we remember the 9 11 attacks 20 years ago tomorrow, terrorists struck at the very heart of the U. S financial system, hitting the twin towers home to so many financial forms. One of those was candid Fitzgerald, which lost two thirds of its staff that day. Welcome. Now the man who was and is the leader of Cantor Fitzgerald. Howard Lutnick. So, Mr Lutnick, thank you so much for joining us. We want to think about the people. We lost What happened 20 years ago. But before that, let's talk about today because today is Charity Day, once again at cannabis, real explain what that is and how it's going so far. All right, so on the date closest, usually on September 11th, but because it's on Saturday this year we're doing it today. Friday. All of our employees waive their day's pay and we ask all our clients do as much business with us as possible. We don't give away our profits. We give away every dollar of revenue to about 150, different charities and and we support the charities of our employees. We split the charities of our clients, and then we set some money aside, and we do huge disaster relief efforts. We've been to Houston. We've been to Puerto Rico. We did Hurricane Sandy. Whenever there's a huge problem. We We step in, and we help poor families out. And so that's we're going to do today running about 8% above last year, which is really good, Um, we tend to raise about $12 million basically raised between 10 and $11 million and then I top it off to 12 million. Every year. So opener raised $12 million again this year to give it away and all these people behind me. They're working their tails off and they're donating every penny. So these are amazing people standing behind me. It's an extraordinary thing you've done for so many years Now, do you have a sense over the years? How much total you've been able to raise? So over the years we've given away $350 million we gave 180 million. First thing was to the families of those we lost. We focused on them, and then we turned our attention after five years. To these other extraordinary institution. So a total $350 million carrying 180 million we gave to the families and of course, we paid for 10. Years of the health care for those families as well, one of the things that's so important in anniversaries or any type, but particularly this one is to give a moment or two to remembering those we've lost once you talk about that, particularly you lost your own brother. Right. So we lost. We were on 101st to 150 floors of the North tower, which was the first one hit. Every person was at the office. That day was lost, and we had an interesting rule at the company. We chose to only work with people that we like. So we would tell everybody. Look, you've got winning friends. Let's hire those winning friends. So we all hired of friends. I had my brother Gary had my best friend Doug. I had a brother in law and my other best friend, but that was true of the whole company. So imagine how tight this company was. And then we lost them all. So we had, you know, 300. You know just so many people 658 people we had We had funerals 20 a day for 35 straight days, it was pulverized. And there, you know, So tomorrow we're going to go down to the memorial. We have a lunch of the families all together, and then we show pictures of the people that we lost and we read their names, and we just remember them and we do it all together. And it's really just powerful because everybody in the room understands each other and we understand each other and we remember together and it's it's really uplifting. Too many of us who watched that at the time. It was remarkable that counterfeit showed survived at all, as as a going concern gives a sense of how it's doing now and compared to where it was then. So we had we had about 28 2900 people around the world and we had 960 in New York. So we lost 6 58. So we had 302 left. And then we had secretaries without bosses. So for the first couple of months, I help other people get jobs in places so they could work. So we ended up with about 150 people starting on January 2nd 2000 and two in New York. And so now we have just under 5000 people in New York. We had about 12,000 people around the world. Um this company was built on the shoulders. Think about this right After 9 11. We said Look, there's two choices. We can shut this firm down. And go to our friends' funerals or we're gonna have to work harder than we've ever worked before. But the only reason to work harder than we've ever worked before is let's we're going to give 25% of everything, not our profits, but our salaries, 25% of everything to the families. Those we lost and then we started hiring people with that model. Imagine I say Look, I'd like to hire you for $200,000. But I can only pay 150,000. I'm going to send 50,000 to the families. The people who joined us Were unbelievably special, and it was on their shoulders and on these employees shoulders that we re built this company because they were building the company, but they were also taking care of the families. And it was that model that drove this company to survive, drove this company to succeed because, remember, each person who joined the company agreed to give 25% of the salary. To the families of those we lost. So these were incredible people, and that's why you can tell I'm the most proud CEO to be standing in candidates, Gerald because the people at this firm Built this company on their shoulders and my insides are all stitched back together. Haven't been ripped to shreds on 9 11 having lost so many friends because the shoulders that I stand on the people who work at candidates, Gerald they are they are amazing people. Yes, we certainly can sense your pride and we can understand why you're so proud. Finally give us your take right now, On the broader question of the ways in which the entire financial industry may have been transformed by 9 11. Is it a different industry because of 9 11, or it's just a matter of technology. Really gaining traction. Well, I think I think 9 11 gave it that. You know, a big push forward. This pandemic gave it again. Another gigantic push forward. Technology is the right way to do a lot of our jobs, you know that you know, computers can help. It's really smart people do things, and so the combination of really smart people in technology is the way the world is going to go forward. 9 11 began it and the pandemic certainly pushed it right. You've got people can work from home now can do zoom meetings and things like that. But you're going to see technology play never ever stronger role in finance and in technology going to see, you know, distributed finance become an ever bigger part of the world out there, but it's always based on smart people. Don't assume that technology is going to replace people. It's just going to augment really smart people who are capable of doing their jobs. Okay, I can't thank you enough for being this good luck with that Charity day today. That's cannabis. Gerald. Chairman and CEO is Mr Howard Lutnick. We're going to have more remembrance of 9 11 coming up on Wall Street Week. That's.

Conservatives Should Focus Exclusively on the Hypocrisy of Obamas, Liberals

"So Obama's having this big birthday bash in Martha's Vineyard we see this weekend who is a Muriel Bowser, liberal mayor of Washington, D. C. Officiated. The wedding was out there No masks and stuff like that. But now we know that we Gretchen Whitmer has done this Gavin Newsom all the Libs. Who else was a Cuomo? We saw no mask and stuff like that. Now, here's the Here's the kind of the conundrum. The quandary I find myself in. The dilemma. I don't want them to wear masks. And I don't want Obama to cancel his party. And unlike Democrats, like I'm not a hypocritical weirdo fraud. I don't want them to. So here's the problem at here and with conservative news outlets to I would encourage you to think that the really seriously think this one through We should point out their hypocrisy. But we should also take a stand. Why we're pointing out the hypocrisy that What they're doing isn't wrong. It's just hypocritical. Jim is that makes sense because we're putting ourselves in a box then, like in a really bad box, because what I want to say is Obama who is a hypocrites been a hypocrites. A total fraud. I don't want to say like Obama should cancel the party. That he's having in his $12 million. You know, mansion. He said it for the little guy, folks. Income inequality champion right there. We're gonna fight income inequality where you could give away portion of your mansion of the equity in there. He won't do that. But if we start coming out against this kind of stuff, right, and we say no, Obama should cancel it. And Muriel Bowser's should wear Miss. We're feeding into the the craziness. And then, like liberals are trying to go look well. Conservatives are for masks, and they don't believe we should go on and live our lives, so we're in a real spot.

"Dinwiddie, who missed almost all the season tours. A CL is interested in signing with the Clippers this offseason now believe he's got a $12 million out that with the Nets, which you'll undeniably exercise, you're gonna get a few bucks. The Clippers will be well above the salary cap next year. But there are some maneuvers that they can do to make the move work out. How valuable is a guy like then what he next season, especially coming off the injury? I think he's highly valuable. I think you'll get them because of the injury about 85, cents all the dollar It's not the injury. It's not an injury where There's such trepidation like, Oh, nobody comes back from this. It's a pretty straightforward recovery. One blast through it If you're diligent, so he'll be fine. I think he might be a little rusty and a little little hesitant and reluctant again, trusting his body like burrow. At the start. But if you get him on 80 cents on the dollar, you might have a guy who was really the second half of the season and the playoffs. Then would he can help you? I like Spencer, and I think he'll be. I think he'll be healthier sooner rather than later BTS. Let's not forget. He almost tried to like play in the postseason. They got her very early, right. So, um, I think he's fantastic. Especially coming off the bench. You need a, you know, an extra point guard a guy who can handle and score. He's that guy.

"Get in ahead of Oregon. So you gotta hurt it, man. You got to earn your way in and realize things be changing something. What also happens on Murphy's? Don't forget that time. Where was it? Georgia one. The SEC title. Alabama did not make the SEC championship game yet. Alabama made the CFP I think the SEC is the only team to Alabama won a title that year. I don't know if they well, I can't remember what year that was, but they they might have been the year they won. That might have been the to a touchdown pass. Yeah, but the bottom line is they went to the CFP without being a right, a conference champion or a conference championship game participants so you could end up in a situation like this Murphy that happens. In Alabama is no one at large. Yeah, Yeah, yeah. You know, Alabama is playing in the field with coastal Carolina in Cincinnati. Five through 12. Who knows we'll see Latino Colgate. Oh, boy, Rutgers I reject And I know we got to go. But I read wholeheartedly reject the notion that this quote unquote devalues the regular season. No way. College football Saturdays will always reimagine every wind will matter to get you there. I completely just you can come at me with it, but get some facts. And then come back to me. And in fact, it makes conference championships more important, because you and your conference you're in for sure. And the other thing I would say, too, is that this is a rejection of the what's happened is the only four teams that keep making it every year. It's Alabama, Clemson, Ohio State in Oklahoma or Georgia. Will you please? Yeah, I'm quite frankly, we bring in 12 million to the university. Nothing do with state funds. Bryan Paris: Perennial Poker Kaiju

"Mr barris. Welcome back onto chasing poker greatness. How you been sir. Thank you for having me appreciate you invited to my pleasure man. It's my pleasure. So what have you been up to. Since the last time we spoke. It's probably been about a year so about a year. I have my best year. Ever in the interim so that's been good with the lockdowns and everything poker has been popping off so i had had my biggest or ever last may and then since then i have like four. Scores were biggest bigger than my biggest prior to that. So it's been a very nice little late career renaissance for me linked career. What's this late career business. Also we'll say mid career. I guess it's funny. How like. I never really imagined myself doing something for like seventeen years and when i think that like in three years i'll be have been a professional poker player for twenty years. It kind of blows my mind. Yeah it's so much so much time. So much time passes so quickly against changed much in those years to the level play and just the entire ecosystem is completely changed like multiple phones. Yeah well poker. Nothing after black. Friday everything kind of went just haywire. And it's just been. It's been a mess ever ever since. Then what do you think is led to these record-setting scores over the past year. I think the colonel watkins huge part of The back of their so many more people signed playing online. I think i think that's like led to a large infusion of new blood into the game. Obviously that's kind of winding down now. But the the after affects still real. You know once you get people. Use the idea like depositing money in playing online over there. They're likely to stick around for at least some degree leading the player polls have been a lot larger do that. I think that's the primary reason. But then also there's sort of a momentum thing where it's just when you're winning and the money's rolling in you can it's a lot easier to sort of detach yourself from like the immediacy of it all and just kind of make decisions. Zoe were studying. And just as the to make awfully as possible. And you know like no matter how much you tell yourself that you're capable of detaching from like the underlying money there's always it's like nagging voice in the back of your head like oh i can bluff year. But that's like if i'm wrong at a cost me x. Amount of money. It's easier to that when you're doing really well. It's an interesting psychological effect that you know if you're just ripping off big win after big win after big win you're much more comfortable in your mind quote unquote taking chances whereas if you're just getting crushed doing those same things you're a lot more hesitant to pull the trigger. You can know mentally too. Something is the right move. And then it's like you know it's gonna cost you more money to do it but it's still. It's still hard to pull the trigger unless you have a whole lot behind to worry about the results in the short term like what's the expression not only have to know what the right move is you have to make it

"About the gift that the Republican Party is missing. And that is the as I mentioned the energy of the populist movement, and it's growing. I completely agree with your observation and your analysis there. What do we have to do to national? Make sure, though, But all of a sudden that does not somehow manifest itself into a Leninist style revolution where we lose the principal conservative nature of things. We're all the sun were willing to forsake the separation of powers and checks and balances. And what has made our country so exceptional. How do we channel that energy? Properly directed while also keeping true to our constitutional republic roots. Wow. Well, I've got a bunch of thoughts, but I'll just give one or two and maybe go from there. The first thing I want to say, is that one of the things that struck me about the trump phenomenon was the fact that not only was the Trump have this affinity for the working class, but the working class guys affinity for Trump shows that the working class doesn't mind having elites and having leaders and it doesn't even mind gold plated apartments and doesn't mind all this extravagance. It doesn't mind. I'm playing golf for Trump having a yard. As long as they're convinced that these elites keep their welfare in line. That's such a good point. And that's critical because it really shows you know, we can't think of the Republican Party going down going into the future without elites. We need a leads. We need really smart guys. We need smart lawyers we need. We need constitutional scholars. We need people we can put on the Supreme Court. We need all that. Now. The second point I want to make is that I do think that one of Trump's weaknesses is that he would stay to position, but he wouldn't explain it. It's almost like he assumed that you know where he's coming from on this applied even to things like he talked about Biden family corruption. It's like you've got a $12 million check from Moscow, but he didn't set the context and say, Listen, Basically, the Biden family has been a rip off operation for decades, and it's operated by taking family members. It's bag men, and there are disclosure requirements that apply to Biden. But they don't apply to the two brothers and the sun. So they were the ones with the suitcases of cash. And when they bring it home, they all sit around the dinner table and split the loot. Some goes to the big guy. So then the American goggles. Wow. Is that what's really going on? So s so one of the benefits on one of the strengths of Reagan and if we go back and watch the Reagan's evil and Speech. 90 82. Reagan doesn't just denounce communism. He lays it out. He says. Why It's bad. He gives a little bit of the history of it. He quotes soldier needs and he kind of takes you into the gulag. And that way people get it. You know, that was just using the educational function Now again. I'm not saying that Trump has to do this all by himself. But I'm saying that we on the right meet it and if it's not coming from Trump, it's gonna have to come from somewhere. So you need Trump. You need the ordinary language, But you also need the educative function, particularly because this is not happening in the schools. It's not mine and not happening in the media. It's not happening in Hollywood. So if we don't do it, who's gonna do it? Right and the that's that's that's perfectly put. I really want to pick up on that one piece you said where it's not about the abolition of the elites that is a Marxist egalitarian Rizzoli in view of the world. I do not believe that Trump does not believe that obviously on conservatives don't believe that instead, it's can we have better elites. We know that certain people are going to be better at certain things at music at sports at cultural production at politics. What's the process of how those elites actually come into a position of leadership? How do we hold those elites accountable? What are what is their incentive structure? What are their motives? And if those elites do something wrong, how do we replace them? That's the question. I think people have, because it's not as if people say that there should be no one in charge of me. I think that's silly. No one actually believes that unless you're a true Marxist who wants A complete and total abolition of hierarchies. Where now we have a we have a Program. That's not the right word. But we have a set of circumstances where you fail upwards like Dr Anthony Fauci, who's wrong about everything always and he gets promoted. Joe Biden, who Bumble his his way through. Any sort of sentence for policy positions speech, and he ends up getting the highest office in the land. I think that more than anything else creates this kind of populist. Anger. And so the Nash How do we get better elites? How do we get better people in those positions, and I think Donald Trump is one part of that, And it's not just in politics. You've been trying to do this in film, and I think you've done a great job of this and film where Why is it that we have to be dependent on three movie House Studios Paramount? MGM and whatever the Disney spent office, you would know it better than I would produce all of the content for our you know, cultural consumption. Do you talk about how we can get better elites? Yeah, You have to remember that when there is success to be had, and this could be in politics at the top level, or let's take Wall Street or take Hollywood. It's going to attract some very bad people. Um Lincoln actually talked about this when he said, How do we? How do we avoid the risk of a Napoleon? Uh, using the political system to come to the top, But their point is not to be a shepherd. But to be a wolf on democratic politics. The wolf always comes disguised as a sheep. That was the wolf never says I'm a wolf that I'm here. I'm here to eat you and be a predator and take everything you have. The wolf uses the language of democracy. I'm here for the sheep. That's why I'm here. Um, Lincoln knew all this..

You're an expert in the industry in not only that they didn't know you before the are feel lake. They're getting no bill right. You'd think you also you don't want to just be professional on social media either. Because i can get really boring. You want That personal side is. I have beckham on my social media. They know i'm a working mom. They know my tyler is busy. Keeps me busy but they often no. I'm really good at real estate. And i'm good at what i do. I love and i always tell agents that. This is the perfect open. It's like no so we're you might like this Are going to start this life. This thing we're gonna do weekly coming up in shutout a little bit about it. "Taking him to the park or whatever while you're house getting clean or generating business right. I do a lot on social media. That i get a lot of my client towels in all sorts of relationship belene so i focused on writing content for my my my clients and for my father. That's going to be effective. And i'm also no touching base with them in in covid non-intrusive way You know delegating tasks a professional side of things. I have a transaction coordinator. I used to do all the paperwork myself. I can't do that anymore. you know right. We're we're on a team. We have a transaction coordinator. We have a graphic designer that also makes all of our marketing pieces. Really pretty for another graphic designer. I'm really good at real estate. So it's learning to be able to be efficient and effective in what you're good at and focus exclusively on that so you can produce more no sales and income for your family and also how to be fiction. Any factor really honing in understanding your clientele for me. You know i'm thirty one. A lot of the clients i work with. It's kind of very similar. They have their first house. It was a fixer upper. Now they need to solve their first home and they want to move into something larger for their growing family and often times. They want something. That's moving ready right. So i also focus on a lot of new construction and it naturally happened because i show content of new construction communities throughout the twin cities and people see that and they engage that i have a buyer come to me and they want a home already. Know the price point that they're looking at i've made ties. Were builders throughout the twin cities. Where i can instantly recommend them to new construction communities where my bias can go and purchase homes. That will fit their budget in minnesota. I'm not sure how. Arizona is right now but the market in minnesota crazy you buy. I mean inventories lacking homes are going into multiple offers so as a realtor..
