Corporate Amazon workers protest company’s climate impact and return-to-office mandate in walkout

"Hundreds of Amazon workers, protested the company's climate impact and the return to office mandate. Power to the workers. Hundreds of corporate Amazon workers protested the company's lack of progress on climate goals and an inequitable return to office mandate during a lunchtime demonstration in Seattle Wednesday. Church hindley was among the protesters. I'm out here because I refuse to just sit idly by while mandates are dictated from above down that don't make sense and hurt the planet, hurt families and individual lives. It's been a month since workers needed to be back in the office three days a week before that it was up to team leaders. I'm Shelley Adler

Ford electric vehicle owners to get access to Tesla Supercharger network starting next spring

"Board electric vehicle owners will get access to Tesla's supercharger network starting next spring. I'm Lisa dwyer. All of Ford's current and future electric vehicles will have access to about 12,000 Tesla supercharger stations in the U.S. and Canada starting next spring. Ford CEO, Jim Farley, says the agreement is a huge move for the auto industry and electric vehicle customers. Tesla CEO Elon Musk says he didn't want Tesla's network to be a walled garden, and says he wants to use it to support sustainable transportation. At first, for its current electric vehicles, we'll need an adapter to hook into Tesla's stations which have their own connector, but Ford will switch to Tesla's North American charging standard connector with its second generation EVs starting

Chinese hackers targeting critical U.S. infrastructure, Microsoft warns

"Microsoft says Chinese state -sponsored hackers compromised, quote, critical infrastructure organizations across US industries with a focus on gathering intelligence, quoting CNBC. The Chinese hacking group codenamed Volt Typhoon has operated since mid -2021, Microsoft said, in an advisory. The organization is apparently working to disrupt, quote, critical communications infrastructure between the United States and Asia, Microsoft said, to stymie efforts during, quote, future crises. The National Security Agency put out a bulletin Wednesday detailing how the hack works and how cybersecurity teams should respond. The attack is apparently ongoing. In the advisory, Microsoft urged impacted customers to close or change credentials for all compromised accounts. US intelligence agencies became aware of the incursion in February. Around the same time that a Chinese spy balloon was downed, The New York Times reported. Volt Typhoon is able to infiltrate organizations using an unnamed vulnerability in a popular cybersecurity suite called FortiGuard, Microsoft said. Once the hacking group has gained access to a corporate system, it steals user credentials from the security suite and uses them to try to gain access to other corporate systems. The state -sponsored hackers aren't looking to create disruptions yet, Microsoft said. Rather,

France bans short-haul flights as it looks to cut transport emissions

"Law from France, which is banning short haul flights, I think, that can be done by train and within two and a half hours? Right. Well, I think that these manufacturers and those working in the sector see this as a great alternative, because these are, of course, emissions free and that the ban on short haul flights that could be taken by a train within a certain amount of time in France took effect just this week as well. So it's kind of, it's timely. They're looking to sort of fill that gap eventually, actually. And there's a number of manufacturers who are building everything from tiny to larger aircraft, trying to make them electric and emissions free, that can do these kind of short hops, say, from Paris to Lyon. That's a great example. And these advanced air mobility manufacturers are saying, look, we'll start in the cities and then, you know, this is a proving ground. This is a way to show that we can make electric emissions free flight work, including between regional cities. So they see this as a great moment for them.

DeSantis launches GOP presidential campaign in Twitter announcement plagued by glitches

"Florida's Republican governors announced that he's officially a candidate for president, but the announcement didn't go exactly as planned. Republican governor Ron DeSantis launched his campaign in a special Twitter space's feed. Criticizing President Biden. He lacks vigor, flounders in the face of our nation's challenges, and he takes his cues from the woke mob. But there were technical problems that led to start and stops, audio glitches, and a delay of nearly half an hour. Desantis was asked why he chose Twitter instead of traditional media. He compared it to his COVID lockdown opposition, lamenting a lack of free expression. You had to put your money where your mouth is. Even that was marred by an audio glitch. This is rivals were rough. Donald Trump tweeted the desantis Twitter launch is a disaster. His whole campaign will be a disaster. And Nikki Haley's campaign also called it a failure. But still, desantis says they raised a $1 million in the first hour after the announcement. I'm Jackie Quinn
