"It's a giant bombcast. We're here to blow you away. Blowing everybody this week. That's right. Last week we were pegging people. Now we're blowing everyone. That's right. We D pegged these stablecoins what? And we're re paging everybody else. To the mountain. Is that what they mean when they say like proof of stake? Yes. I want to see your proof of stake. All right, I thought you'd never ask. Go ahead, show me we're all friends here. All right, are we on Twitter? Well, it's our last time on twitch.tv. Here we go. Zip. This is the giant bomb cast. I bought a air blower. In case you're listening to the audio version, I don't know. I've been fucking blowing air out of my it presses the keys on my keyboard. It'll press the gets too much air. It's too much. A key that's crazy. Yeah, it is as powerful. It is scary how powerful this thing is. I unpacked it this morning. Well at least my phone is charging again. That was why I bought it because you get a little dust in that port and then it just kind of doesn't work as well. Can you use it for other things like inflating pool toys and stuff if you line it up right or what? I don't think it comes with any attachments that will work really well for that. Oh no. There would be really smart, but yeah, I don't know that I don't know that it comes with anything small enough to fit into the standard kind of pool toy. Just like duct tape it to the lip of the thing and just have to custom custom blow it up, I guess. And see how it goes, we are getting to pool toy season. My favorite season. Yeah, just hanging out with pool. I wouldn't swim in and played with some pool toys over the weekend. It was very sick. Fuck yeah. Just the toys. Just the toys, no swimming, no, just I was just out of fun noodles. Just having fun, just like in someone's backyard with a fucking noodle being like, and they said, please sir, can you get out of our backyard and stop with the pool toys? Where did you even get that? We don't even have a pool. Do you want to hear something so sad and stupid? Yes. Please. All the time. Sad stories all the time. I have to keep my voice down because in the adjacent room, but the first summer of the pandemic, she was like, I want a pool. I was like, okay, we can't just buy that. You know, so she got a makeshift blow up pool. That was like, I don't know. 15, I guess 1500 gallons or something like that. Okay. This is like larger than a hot tub. And we put it in the backyard and we found like a flat. And it has like a filter and you put chlorine in it. Wow. Yeah, it was like pretty advanced. She bought pool toys for this thing that were way too big for what we had. It was insane. It was like some sort of weird stew that she was making and it things were too like a regular sized pool noodle, not fitting this thing.

"What's up and welcome back to kind of funny games daily for Tuesday, may 17th, 2022. I'm Tim gettys, and I'm thrilled to be joined with the Rogue One, Gary weta. Tim, before the show, you and I were just talking about how much fun it is when you and I host together. We also have a good time. It's always the best. And here's the thing. I love my job so much 'cause I find myself anytime I'm doing kind of funny games daily. No matter who I'm with, I'm always excited to be doing the show with them. I feel like the show format allows us to have so many different kind of partnerships. Like, Gary, you're mostly the most dialed in one. I feel like you get stuck with Greg, unfortunately. The most often, right? It's only when he's gone that you get the luxury of doing the show with someone like me or bless her Janet or Tam, but I get to just bounce around to do the show with everyone. So it always feels like this little thrill, you know? It's like a every time you host like, who am I going to get this time? And there isn't a bad. There's not a bad Tim and someone else combo, right? That's pretty much it. You fit well with everybody. I love it. I love it. I feel like everyone fits well with everyone, but I do think that I got a little that Tim, there's something about me, you know what I mean? That's definitely what he is. But I'm a good second fiddle. But yes, exactly. They're definitely scary. I love you so much. Hey, before we even get into the show and stuff, you just showed me something super exciting. So I want to give you your little pimp edge moment oh yeah, also just before the show occurred to me this morning one week from today, my Batman comic, the first issue of an 8 part series Batman fortress will be in all good comic stores May 24th. I have the D.C. just sent me my copies. I got the main one here. This is the one that will be easiest to find. And I have both and we see these are gorgeous. They're both variant covers as well. So there's two variant covers. You can look out for as well. I just posted the first stuff from it the first panels and dialog from it on my Twitter feed. If you want to go check it out, but this will be an all good comic stores and presumably, I don't exactly have but I imagine we had to get like a digital version of it from digital outlets. One week from today, May 24th. So I'm very excited about that. Extremely cool. I can't wait to read it. I've been getting back into comics a lot recently, Gary. So this is an exciting time for me. Well, thank you. I appreciate that. I appreciate that very much. But hey, enough about that for now. We have to wait a whole week for that. Right now we are talking about all the video game news that you

"Yo, what's up? Welcome to kind of funny games daily for Monday, may 16th, 2022. I wonder how blessing adio a junior joining me is twitch.tv slash Andy, Cortez. Great morning, everybody. I just had some coffee, blessing. I've been more and more thinking about getting a steam deck. Oh, have you not already gotten one? Have you not already purchased? No, I never felt like I needed it. And I still don't feel like I'll need it. But I would love to just be, I would love the ability to get one quicker than Greg Miller. Like if we can make that happen. I think that's the number one reason you should get it. Number two reason is I've been using this thing a lot over the weekend because I traveled. I went to Houston to hang out with family. And when I tell you, first of all, I was very conflicted on whether or not I should bring my steam deck along with me. Mainly because last time I traveled and brought my switch along with me, I ended up getting my switch stole and I was like, oh, it happened again. But I've been me and this team that have been attached at the hip. I really sat down and I was like, fuck, I don't know if I can survive the weekend without my steam deck. I really might need this thing because I was really into Patrick's paradox.
A highlight from Is It Time to Abandon PS4, Xbox One?
"Tina amini. Hi everybody. I'm glad born. Hey. And joining us this week very special guest, Mark Medina is back. Audi, y'all. Welcome back to Mark. Thanks. We got a great show for you this week, so much to talk about. Big big news week. We're going to talk about, man, two big delays for Microsoft, leaving Microsoft with absolutely nothing planned for release this year. At the moment. We'll talk a little bit about what EA has planned for next year and one of their big games that I've been very much looking forward to. Just got a release date. But first, let's begin with Gotham Knights, which got a new gameplay trailer this week. And the news that it's last gen versions have been canceled. So no longer coming, the PS4 and Xbox One, and people seem to be kind of okay with it. At least on IGM the comments were like, cool. Sounds good. Some people were even like applauding the decision. Finally, it's about time we move on to next gen. So it'll be coming October 25th, or PS5, Xbox Series X and PC, what do we think? Is it time? Is it time to abandon the lasting consoles and to move into true courage in? Tina well, we're in a very special situation where we're all prepared for that, but not everybody might have upgraded their consoles. Some people I imagine maybe didn't get the last generation of consoles until a significant price drop. So I just assumed that people who haven't been anxiously trying to get the new consoles are less concerned about it. Aside from, of course, those who just like just physically have not been able to purchase one. So there's definitely still that side of things. But from what we know, it's still easier to get an Xbox series versus a PS5. So there's still an option for it, and it doesn't leave people hanging. I think people are a little bit burnt out. Or burned from the Cyberpunk 2077 situation. So if this is what it takes to kind of streamline how games are being built these days and do a little bit of quality control and make sure that the experience is reliable for everybody on the platforms that it is available. That's definitely a good thing. Yeah. I would like to see it manifest in a really next gen looking game. Like, oh, the extra resources went into like a crazy cool looking game. And that's not really where this game is at. Now I

"Hi folks, I'm Bruce Campbell, and you're listening to kind of funny games daily. Of all the funny shows out there, this is definitely one of them. Well, thank you very much there to Bruce Campbell for that very groovy intro. You love to see it. Welcome to the kind of funny games daily for Friday, 13th of May 2022, I am your host the most and joining me is my brother from another mother. Tim, motherfucking gays. Dude, I'm doing fantastic and I feel like of all days to be able to host with you. I'm excited that it gets to be this day. The day of Kendrick Lamar, you love to see it. Also the day that I finally got the new party shirt that you can get in kind of funny dot com slash store. This thing is premium, dude. This might be the most premium kind of funny merch we've ever had. Porte is like stitched. It's nice, man. I got a little pocket. What am I going to put in the pocket of foam? Oh, hell yeah. Maybe my mouse, like, what else could I fit there? So much things. I want to see a picture of you wearing that T-shirt with just an entire LaCroix in that pocket. Yeah, oh, definitely definitely, man. I love that. You've got it in your blue as well, which is wonderful. This all worked out. Enough of all of this. Yes. 12 hours, babe. You know what, Tim, you know, whenever I do one of these shows, I always want to do the day in pop culture history. To recount what's happened. And usually we look back at what's happened. Today though, we are looking at what is happening right now because may 15th, 2022, in pop culture history, the release of Kendrick Lamar's mister morale and the big steppers. What an album already, as well as my chemical romance, his new album, but new song. 8 songs. We've been waiting 8 years emo kids rise up. Great day. Price off BMO kids. And I hope that you are eating well out there. I've not listened to it yet, but I will, after I get the Kendrick album out on my system. How many lists are you grew? Are you right now? I'm about 5 listens through. Oh my God. For context, this is an hour and 18 minute long album. So I was up extremely late and then I got up early to listen to it again and I've done I've done listens where I'm just sitting on my couch. I've done listens on my headphones. I've done listeners through my sound bar. I've done listens pacing up and down my apartment. I've done lessons holding my cat and dancing. I've done, I've done listens where I'm crying. I've done listen. It's a hell of an album so far. And the funny thing is, I haven't even begin to unpack the messaging, the themes, I'm getting bits and pieces of it, and I think it's one. I think it's the lore. And I think it's an important album for hip hop and rap. History. And I was talking to bless about this a bit earlier, but like it is such a brave and bold album. It is one of the most acclaimed, it is the artist of our generation, like the first thing I wanted to tweet is, having listened to it a few times, I thought to myself, I am so happy and this is going to sound corneas shit, but a 100% believe it. I'm happy I am alive at the same time as Kendrick Lamar. You know what I mean? I feel it, man. You're right. This is a day in pop culture history. I'm only one and a half listens through. But I can't wait this weekend to keep listening. And I'm pleased to announce. Was tweeting at us, but we had already planned this. I was like, this is the best news for you I've ever. On Monday, we will be recording a screencast review of this album. It's gonna be me, Tam bless and roger. I'm very, very excited about that. Totally discussing our first weekend with this album, which I'm sure is just gonna be the surface level of where this album can go. But I definitely recommend everyone go check out the album this weekend and then come back, YouTube dot com slash kind of funny screencast on podcast feeds. Next Monday for all of your Kendricks. Thoughts. There's tour dates now. So. I really hope he's coming to San Francisco because we got a goal. Are we getting a San Francisco check in now? I saw him. Really? Well, there's no. Maybe there's Oakland. Yes, there is Oakland. There's Oakland, September. In August, we gotta go. We gotta go. I'm down. I saw Dave. Santander recently, and it was incredible. So I'm like feeling a little more comfortable about going to actual live concerts and I'm a 100% going to this one. Incredible. I saw I saw damn live in London as well. It was unbelievable. It was mind-blowing, but yeah, this album is important. It feels like. I've had a real problem with a lot of rap and hip hop lately where it just feels largely vapid and braggadocios and no one's really got anything to say of importance. And this feels like Kendrick turning around and being like, everyone needs to stop that shit. Everyone needs to say something meaningful if you want, I will. And it is like, it reminds me of a line in mask off where he basically says, how do you let a conscious rapper go commercial? And this is him leveraging that kind of line and that moment where a contract rapper has gone commercial and is and having done that is using that moment to tell the industry like these are important issues because this is an album that speaks to is personal. It's like about trauma. It's about being shaped by not being loved and having father having a good father figure or having a certain type of father figure. It's about, you know, it's about being trans. It's about being having relationships that are destructive, but also important. And it's such a dense album and I just can not wait to keep digging into it. And we're gonna get all into it. Next week. But for this week, we've got for this episode of kind of funny games nearly in any way. We've got a bunch of cool news stories. Interesting news stories. We've got a release date for the dead space remake. We've got a PlayStation exec saying a very stupid things. And we've got a

"Everybody, welcome to kinda funny games daily for Thursday, may 12th, 2022. I'm one of your host Greg Miller alongside Forbes 30 under 30. AKA the second best baby blues in San Francisco. AKA the engaged one at Tim gettys. Let's Tim host. How are you doing, Greg? I'm good, Tim, how are you? Great day to be talking about news. A lot of stuff, a lot of stories, a lot of good stuff. I will say, I'm not doing too great, though. Coming down off of a cold. My first gold in over two years. And let me tell you, man, being sick, you forget how much it sucks. Yeah. But I've been responding. I'm now into the draining out stage, which is just not fun, but I will say it's better than the congested sinus phase. But yeah, G got a cold a couple of days ago. Tested for COVID constantly, just negative negative, negative, and I'm like, I'm going to get whatever this is. At least it's not COVID. And then two days later, I get it. So I'm like two days behind her, but it's also a 100% now. Yeah, exactly. I'm like, I wish we were in it together. But at least now I know that there's an end coming. And I feel like I'm on it. You know, I took yesterday to kind of rest a bit. And I actually had a really good day. Well, all things considered. I got to lay in battle a lot, which was really nice. And I've been trying to get back into comics. I've been slacking on reading comics for a while now, Greg. Because my iPad at some point broke out a long time ago, many, many years ago. And then I gave my big dog iPad that I got in its replacement to cool Greg many, many years ago. So I lost that thing a long time ago. But recently I was like looking at the new iPad lines and I'm like, which one should I get specifically for reading comics? Because I want to get back into it. I want to normalize it as part of my routine. Because I've been reading just on my phone, right? For a couple of months. And I've been doing the single the guided panel. I said no, thank you. I'm with you. I'm exactly with you. It works. It's fine in a bind, but I was like, I want something a little bit nicer. So I was looking at it, they just announced iPad air a couple months ago. Beautiful blue back on my, oh, this is the one. So I got that, but I was like, oh, but this minis looking real good too. So I bought the mini as well. And I bought both of them, and I tested them out for a couple days last week. And I made the decision of which what I liked and I returned. I'm surprised to say Greg, I returned to the air. I kept the mini. And this thing is, it's amazing. What do you mean? It's everything I could have. No, it's secret wars. Yeah. For some reason I'm in the mood. I don't know why. Hey man, be in the same incursions, you know what I'm talking about, but anyways, I freaking love this thing, man. If you were into comics and stuff, do not sleep on the latest iPad mini, 'cause it's the borderless one without the button and all that stuff. Oh, could not recommend it more, man. One of the cheaper iPads. This thing cost me 300 bucks. Wow, what a deal, everybody. What a deal, man. I got a marvel marvel unlimited. Boom. You got that one. I forget, right? Yeah, exactly. Yeah. Totally. I have a good time. Great stuff. Anyway. I'm glad you're on the up and up. That's my update. We talked about it. The other day when you were sick and I took over a game scattered or whatever, but it was that thing of like, maybe a month ago, maybe a month and a half ago, Ben came home with a cold, and then he gave me the cold, and the hour was the first time I had been sick and forever too. And then last night, Joe was like, oh, my throat's kind of itchy, and then this morning I woke up with a sore throat. I'm like, here we go again. Here we go, man. This is just life. I thought we were dodging it since Ben's not going to day care. You know what I mean? But he still goes out and sees other babies and stuff. So now I've just, Kevin, I need you to come over this weekend and we're turning the shed into a little cage in bendy's is going to stay in there. 'cause I'm not gonna have to keep bringing these jerks. I ain't put a little trampoline in. It'll be cute. There's raccoons and skunks back there though. Sure. You know what I mean? It makes you strong. Exactly. Exactly. We all saw a jungle book. That'll be him. It'll be great. But enough about that. Ladies and gentlemen, we have horrible news. Starfield and redfall have been delayed, dying light two story DLCs being delayed, and fall guys is getting a big announcement. I guess that last one was probably good news, but it doesn't matter. "Watching the video version, yes, I am in fact not in my office at home. I am not wearing PJs. I had to get properly dressed up today. I am actually recording live from Herman holst's office. I infiltrated he actually has beyond adornments on the wall. It's quite beautiful. No, we're actually in the IGN studio today. I am recording outside of the IGN offices. So don't be alarmed. That's where I am. And I'll be here for future weeks. But before we get into all of that stuff, if you're listening to the audio version, show should be the same for you. Don't worry too much about it. It's just me sitting in a very blue room is what you get. But other than that, I am joined this week by Jada Griffin. She had a hello. Hello, hello. And don't believe what your eyes see, everybody. This is just a blue screen. It's some magic Jonathan. I heard, I got some looks into his financials. He spent a lot of money getting ILM to build this the studio. He's actually not even there. He's actually just made out of data himself. Mike. But also, that would be amazing. But also, other people may notice and are for audio listeners here, not going to hear Mark today. I told him last episode, Johnson, you remember this pre show talk that my goal last episode was to get Mark to quit. By the end of the episode. And while he didn't actually quit IGN, he's not here. He'll probably he'll probably he might be back next week. We'll see. He's not here. So I'm taking that as a personal victory. Sure. But I love Mark mark's great. I'd just like to give him as much crap as possible. So it's great that he just happened to not be able to make it this week. I really love the idea that if you had not said that at the end, the idea that the audience would just think you both really hate each other, but when the cameras are on, you just, you know, you put on a happy face, but then afterward you two are at each other's throats constantly. Now it's the only one we're playing. Only one we're playing dodgeball on PlayStation. That's when we're mostly cutthroat towards each other. Well, yes, no. Mark is not with us this week. Hopefully we'll be back next week. But not to fear we'll do a classic as they're known in the beyond annals of history. A fireside chat episode and what more homely place for me to be than in a nicely lit and produced studio for a fireside chat. No, but we do actually have a bit of PlayStation stuff to talk about this week. Sony's year total financials came out, we learned a little bit about both the year for the PS5 in terms of earnings and what they're looking forward to doing in the next year with the PS5 in terms of sales. We also got a little bit of an idea of how they're going to be supporting their first party studios. And we'll get into some of that as well. But before we do and before we get into some other news this week, I do want to start off with our cliffhanger from last week of a trophy test, which was, of course, a Star Wars Jedi fallen order order trophy. I can say that word normally. Which, of course, for anyone who didn't listen last week, I gave Mark Andrea two options of trophies from Star Wars. I love this game so much because it was Star Wars Day last week. And I wanted them to guess the correct one for this week. Now, just as a reminder, the two options were, they were for the trophy for exploring the Nader. I don't know. Anyway, they were called visiting alderaan places or searching mustafar and wide. And so mustafar and wide. You have to tell me the correct one and Mark isn't here. So you get a free point this week if you get it, right? Against him. You already have one. Can you get to two? What is the right answer? What is the correct trophy? Well, for anybody who's played Jedi fallen order, the crash vinegar is an area that is completely off the beaten path, which means you're visiting alderaan places if you're trying to finish the story. You are correct. It is. Of course. Surging in alderaan places. I enjoyed my mustafar and white pun, but you are correct. That is the correct answer. And then it was great. Also a viewer who got it correct and I'm trying to pull up their name before I get it wrong. So please forgive me. Got it correct on Twitter. I had to very carefully not like or respond to their tweets so that you are Mark would not see it. But you are correct. That is the correct one. You are now up two points against mark's nunn. Which feels a little unfair this week, but we'll have another one for next week. We'll see if you can get it then. I mean, let's be real. I'm just going to run away with this. This is just going to be, it's going to be a hundred to zero. We're going to be a hundred and zero. You get trophies in your sleep, I'm pretty sure. So I have no doubt you'll win this one. I have actually gotten one or two trophies in my sleep because I play games way too late at night, and I fall asleep with the controller in my hands in a vise grip, sometimes I am still moving the thumb sticks. It is very strange, and I'm sure I've gotten one or two in my sleep. I'd have to go look at the hours that the timestamp for the trophy unlock. But I'm sure there's at least one or two. I believe it.

"What's up, everybody? Welcome to kind of funny games daily for Wednesday may 11th, 2022. I'm one of your hosts Greg Miller, alongside the gameplay and roller skating marathon run in Janet Garcia. Yo, what's good? Nothing much, how are you? I'm good. I can't help but notice that you're not blessing, but you know what I mean? Not a lot of people are gonna call it out. You and I are not afraid to call it out that it's weird that you and I are doing this. I love it. I love doing shows with you, but usually you and I not this combo. We're not, you know, we're not the combo for this blessing is doing something that's embargoed right now, so I get to come in and host with you, which is great. I have, you know, we changed the whole way. We do PS I love you xoxo available each and every Friday on YouTube dot com slash gotta win a game. So I don't get to say the marathon running thing anymore. You know what I mean? I change how I do that, so it's nice to be here. And here's the thing, Janet. Oh, sorry, Barry corny on the ones and twos what you got. I also can't help but like y'all can't see it, but I'm also wearing the same kind of funny sweater as Shannon is saying. Nice. Greg, I can't help but notice you didn't work. Now, all right, so you know what? For the record, there's a lot to unpack. And I don't mind stopping the entire show down back. As we've said many times, if you're a PS I love you watcher, you know. Jen and I, same fucking person. So yesterday, gen and I hosted a taped segment for the USC games expo. You can watch it tomorrow. IGN three 30 p.m. or twitch.tv slash USC games where we won't run through 6 of the games made in the program that are amazing. We look at all these demos and talk about to talk over them. I wore the sweatshirt there. Janet texted me beforehand and said, what are you wearing? I said I'm wearing a kind of funny sweatshirt. She said, which one I'm wearing one too. And she was wearing the other one, all right? So today that shirt is dirty. Benjamin puke down the last night, you know what I mean? I wore it around all week, and all day. And then if you've done it, so don't get on my don't get in my face about it, boss baby, all right? I'm gonna get in your face about, you know, anything that the CEO junior sees fit. I didn't think about this when I put this on this morning, 'cause I'm like, it's me as Greg yesterday. Because actually before, when I texted you, I hadn't decided. I wanted to just wear a sweater because that's just what I normally wear. And I want to wear this sweater because this is, I think this might be my favorite of our recent batch. I do like the crop for the look, but I feel like this is like the one I see myself where I end up wearing the most often. It's because of her neck and not a hoodie. But I was gonna wear this, but I'm like, I feel like this is probably what Greg is wearing. And I like matching, you know, I like a matching moment, but when it's something that's outside of us, it seems like we try to match, and then I'm like, I didn't, though, I just was, you know, so that's why I wore the other one. And I was like, today I can be the real me, which is really just you in a different direction. The italicized Greg Miller. Here's where I wanted to test you, all right? 'cause I've had a wave of nostalgia. I was upstairs getting my coffee, you know how your brain just wanders. A wave of nostalgia. Can you guess what I was nostalgic about today? It's about video games. It's a PlayStation? Well, it's a general video game thing. The Sims? We tweet about that. Tweet about subsidies yesterday. That's just a general video game thing. What? Why are you controllers? Fuck no. Were you nostalgic about Pong? No, no, no, no. I was nostalgic for midnight console launches. I was just struck because I think we're talking about we're going to talk about switch and how people, you know, what comes next and Yeti yada yada. And like I was sitting there, I was like, man, and yeah, don't get me wrong. I don't miss it in terms of like, I'd want to do it right now as a 39 year old, no, I don't want to go wait in line. It's much cooler. I mean, first off, it's much cooler to have our lives where the console is shipped to us weeks ahead of time. We had to that's pretty fucking awesome. Thank you, everybody. But it's also cool that I think just to click the button and have it delivered to your door not to worry about it or whatever. But then I was sitting there and I was like, man, PlayStation 2, the we just sitting out there talking to fellow people, being excited about something, reading your magazine. Those were the days, a simpler time, Barrett. You were a baby. Sure. Thank you. Y'all were, except for you, you were like 30 already for some reason. I didn't have the pleasure of console. Yeah, exactly, right? I was too I was too broke for the console launches. But then I went on the other direction where now I have the privilege of like, I got the PS5 early, and that was very cool. And that was awesome. Actually, because console early is like, that hits so much different than a code, like a codes much easier than widespread than a console. So that was cool. Hopefully that happens with the PS5 two or PSX or PS5 pro X or whatever, yeah, whatever, whatever ends up being. Raj former in the chats is I only went to one, the PlayStation 4 launch. It was very sad and boring experience. I was listening to beyond hoping to find a fellow nerd. Everyone was there just to scalp. And that's the modern day. That's the modern day. I wouldn't do anything about that. You and your friends are and they engraved it with my name on it. It was great. I don't know what they want. What happened to you? But I digress. Ladies and gentlemen, let's talk about how Jan and I are going to argue about the best game at the Nintendo indie

"10th. I'm your host. How's that? You have fun names today. I didn't come up with a fun name. Yeah, no, it's a fun name crew here. You can be stabby Jan, stabby Jan. It's true to life. True to life, really. What's my name? You can't give yourself your own nickname, you know? You just go with void burger if you want. Yeah, you kind of already it's hard work. You kind of brought that to the table. It's kind of like comment subscribe. Yeah, there you go. And Jeff baccala is here. Just renamed no gimmicks. No gimmicks. That's it. Jeff. Here with the fucking facts. Ready to deliver to you the truth? For all the about the truthers out there about hardcore pornography frisbee golf. And what else are you into? High lie. Yeah. Big high lie. Highlighting, but highlight betting lines. I've made my fortune and highlight betting and now you can too. I got my book. I'm not gonna say all account I have on Twitter, but I do have an incredibly popular high lie betting account. Out there for all the hot tips in southern Florida. What's highlight? Hi, I feel like highlights of highlights dangerous. Reoccurring theme on this program. Where they got the weird scoops on their arms and they're flinging balls around. Oh. It's like that. But they don't play inside a computer. Wow. That's dope. It's like a real sport people. Is it like a sport or is it like an activity? It's like sport and maybe it's worked. Sometimes. That's the thing. It's like is drag racing a sport. Like technically no, it's just you know it's not like a sport is just like a dangerous activity. Everything's a dangerous activity. Really? Well, yes, but. I mean, by that token, I think you're saying that no motor sport is truly a support. Well, no. I can get behind that. What the fuck you're driving a car. Okay. I could drive a car. I used to drive a car every day. I passed more people than most of those fuckers did. I think equestrian sports? What the fuck? The horse is doing the work. If you want to go down this road, which we are, I think, highlight athletes are possibly in better shape than let's call it bowlers. I would even say baseball players. Some baseball players, sure. Yeah. Yeah. Without a doubt. I mean, they're flipping off the wall with their baskets. So you should look at the sport though, just it's basically like very long racket ball. Where it's a two teams of two or two or one on one. I think you could do singles or doubles. It doesn't matter. And it's just a very intense, weird game that's almost played like on a stage where everyone is watching the stage and the stage is the court. Is it spelled? Not how it looks. Okay. Jai alai. Dry a lie. Like

"For Tuesday, may 10th, 2022. I'm one of your host Greg Miller, a long side the Rogue One on a winner Tuesday Wednesday. Gary whitta. Hello, Gary. Hello, Greg, how are you? I'm excellent, how are you? I'm good. I'm glad to see your face and hear your voice. I was thinking this morning. When I wake up on a Tuesday, I actually go, oh yeah, it's kind of funny Tuesday. I actually, it puts me in a good mood because I do genuinely enjoy doing this every week. I love seeing you. So highlighting my week. I don't get out. That's not true. I don't know, it's true. Beautiful family. Listen, we still have career in film and comics. I don't actually get out and socialize very much. Well, that's overrated. So this is it. This is what subs in for that. But yes, Batman fortress, two weeks from today will be in a comic store if there is one. Near you, or you can go get it on one of the comics apps. Is it really coming on a Tuesday or is it coming on Wednesday? It's coming out on two weeks from today, the 24th. So I believe that's a Tuesday. Even though today's technically a Wednesday. Even comics industry is confused by where Gary is. Gary, if people don't know, what's the elevator pitch for Batman fortress? Alien invasion of earth, Batman, Superman's missing. Batman has to find a way to defeat the aliens without the help of any superheroic friends because all the Justice League get wiped out as well. Oops, spoiler. But it's really, it's really fun. And we got a lot of D.C. amazingly. I sent the things, this is what I want to do and they're just like, yeah, I'd feel free to say no because I know that's what you're going to say and they were like, oh yeah, Jim Lee just signed off on this. I'm like, what the fuck? So they actually let me do it. It's a lot of, I don't know if their level let me do another Batman books by chuck threw the kitchen sink at this one. It's got all my blood. Too. Yeah, yeah, it's got all my personal favorite D.C. characters in it. Once you know, once you've hardly ever heard of, a few new ones, we've created, as you know, Greg Superman is my favorite. Character. So even though he said, we want to do a Batman, but, you know, because Matt Reeves and everything, it's all about Batman this year. We're going to be very Batman centric. I tried to find a way to frame it even though it is a Batman story. It's still also kind of a Superman story because it's about like the absence of Superman. And it's essentially kind of an Ocean's Eleven. It's a little bit raiders lost dark like going around the world trying to figure out how to do it, but then actually doing it with like a second string team of superheroes because they'll have the best ones that Bruce Wayne can put together. Trying to figure out a way how to break into the fortress of solitude because somewhere in there is the secret to defeating these aliens. So yeah, it's cool. I can't wait. Comic shops everywhere. All the comic digital services you can imagine. But if you needed more Batman news, then guess what? We have you covered. Let's talk about Gotham Knights, ditching last gen. You might be able to get a PS5 sooner than you think in the division two is getting content this week. New content this week. "Junior, joining me is la Croix poppy himself, AKA my fellow Forbes during the under 30 AKA Tim mu fucking gettys. Bless how are you doing this beautiful Monday? Tim, I'm doing great. I'm riding off of multiple highs right now. I'm riding off the high of Doctor Strange and the multiverse of madness. I'm still in love with that movie, like a week pass watching it. I still can't stop thinking about it. I'm running off the high of the new Kendrick Lamar song that just came out last night, the hard part 5. And I'm riding off the high of his album, like imminently released. Dude. It's almost here. We're talking about it right before we went live here, but the biggest risk right now is burning this song out in the next four days. It's just like, we need to pace it because this needs to be special years to come. You know what I mean? We can't listen to it too much right now, but also I don't know if that's possible with this type of Kendrick. He's just at an all time high, man. That thing is like, I always have an ongoing playlist that I call my now playing playlist, which is whatever songs that I'm listening to in the moment. If a new album comes out and I like three songs from that album, those songs go in the playlist, right? And that is usually I keep that playlist fresh. I'm always updating it. That way I never get tired of it. And this morning, while going through activities, putting together KID going to get coffee and all that stuff. Usually I would be listening to that playlist. I kid you not, I'll listen to the hard part 5. Literally two hours. Yeah, roll it back. Roll it back. I need to listen back to it. That song has been on play the entire time. The entire morning. And it's, you know, when I think about the purpose of the song, right? I was talking to you about how it's probably not gonna be on the album. I usually these songs don't make the final album. They're just the appetizer. They're just the street single baby. I love it. I miss this. The street single, but it's the fact that this is the song that you're using a winner, apt is appetites. Maybe the best song I've heard all year. And this is the appetizer sim. This one's not being incredible. And for anyone listening right now that's like, oh, I don't listen to rap music. I don't know any of this stuff. Do yourself a favor and just YouTube the music video for Kendrick Lamar's the heart part 5. The music video, just put it on, don't ask questions, I just watch it and don't skip ahead, just watch it the whole way through. It's gonna blow your mind. It is crazy. It is incredible, but Tim, you know what else is incredible. Some of the new stories we're gonna talk about today. So let's talk about Xbox planning to launch a streaming stick, a lot of the rings game from EA and more because this is kind of funny games daily.

"What's up, everybody? Welcome to kind of funny games daily for Friday. May 6th, 2022, I'm one of your hosts, Greg Miller, alongside Forbes, 30 under 30, AKA the future class and video games, AKA the okay beast, blessing. Junior. Thank God it's Friday, Greg. TGIF. You know what I mean? Can't wait to watch full House and boy meets world. Hell yeah. Come on. Of course, boy meets world. I'm of course. Honestly, the real reason why I'm thinking God is Friday is because I was just telling you guys that I've not had the chance to actually play this thing. All right, now if you're audio listening right, I'm holding up my steam bank. It's been a very busy week. I've been doing a lot of keep rubbing it in my face plus that you have this thing and you're too cool and busy to even fucking use it. Just send it over. Everything is like, I got plans. I got yesterday nothing to do bless, but lay in my bed and just think about playing games in bed. Oh, Barrett doesn't play old games. Give him the deck. Let him go. I'm just a man with plans, you know? Yes, I had to go watch Doctor Strange, multiverse of madness. Yeah, I was there with you. It's not like that was there too. Yeah, me too. I was obligated to do that. I had to go do that. I had to go play D&D the other day with friends. I've had a busy schedule. And this weekend looks like I might be a little bit more freer. And so I'm going to hop into some games, Greg. Probably play some of that rogue legacy too. What I appreciate about you is that you're going to use it to play games on like Paris Lilly who just takes photos of games on it. You know what I mean? Like that's the big thing. He has one. I think he's his photoshopping them into photos, because I'm not getting impressions. That's a great point. That's a great point blessing. He's not actually talking about his time on this team. He just talks about having steam there. Well, there are steam deck impressions of Paris Lilly on last week's ex cast. So that's an Xbox podcast. Is it him using Xbox X prod on it or remote play on it? Or is it what's he using on it? It was just like a bunch of different things. Like, yeah, he brought up cloud gaming on the steam deck and just actually playing other games, I think, through steam on the seam deck and stuff like that. Go check it out. It's a good episode. If you're going to talk about expat on it, I'd listen, but if it's games that seem deck that needs to go to steam cast, I don't want to hear that on my excuse. What are we going to start a steam cast? Because I feel like now that the steam decks are coming in like roger corny was talking to me about how he's on the verge of actually getting one very soon. It seems like we have a lot of times you want to drop that that Rogers done that he's crossed the finish line. I just want you to keep more and more roger didn't even have a pre order. Roger was out there. He was doing different through everybody's trash looking for a fucking steam deck. So pretty over here, playing it as it lies. I was there on day one, register, I freaking pre ordered the goddamn thing. I thought I was all set. I was supposed to get it anytime between April and June. Well, guess what, valve, it's me. Getting on a plane in two weeks. And we can half now. You gotta switch. You gotta find a bag. Oh yeah, trust me, I got plenty of things to play. Plus. That's not the issue. There are too many games you know that. Too many games at all times. Too many great games to play. I'm just saying, that seems like there's a lot more converts, PC converts here, that kind of funny. It's where we can start PC, I love you, control tab control tab. If we wanted to. And I'm always down for another podcast. You know that. Me Andy roger, PC podcast, think about it. Talk about half life. That's just it every week. I don't know what other PC games are. Well, blessing. Hearthstone. There's a lot of PC games out there. And we're going to talk about some of them that could be PC games today. Like a WWE RPG, Call of Duty Modern Warfare twos reveal incoming the FTC coming after PlayStation and finally, as this is episode zero of PC I love you control tab control tab. Excel is coming to one of your favorite PC games. We'll talk about all this in more because this is kind of funny games daily. "It's good to be back. And Justin Davis, scoop. You got a great show for you this week. We're gonna talk about we're gonna do some imagination play sort of imagining what sort of video game mashups might be fun to play if they were ever to happen in our dreams. We're gonna flip through the 2002, the May 2002 issue of game pro, but first. Very surprising news this week that Square Enix is selling off its western studios, eidos, crystal dynamics, and Square Enix, Montreal to the Embraer group, which is a mysterious shadow organization in Sweden that over the past years has secretly been just gobbling up franchises and studios left and right. I think now that they're going to have over 850 different franchises and IP into their umbrella. It's crazy. Formally, yeah, formally Nordic games formally THQ Nordic in 2019 rebranded as embracing group. So a little bit, the embrace group itself might sound random to be the new home of these studios and of franchises like Tomb Raider. And I think the fact that they are making this acquisition for the mere sum, the paltry sum of $300 million, it's also surprising. But we'll get to that. I think hear me out. I think this represents the end of a chapter in the story of video games. I think it's bigger than just this acquisition. So chapter called. Oh, that's a good, it's a good well, maybe it'll be the headline of this video. Japan reads again, which is, of course, a play on the second Godzilla movie, Godzilla raids again. Of course. Which is interesting to think of what Godzilla is doing as raiding, isn't it? Yeah, I've never heard that title actually. That's the U.S. that's how they promoted in the United States. Godzilla raids again. I don't even know. Maybe the actual Japanese name too that was released. There's definitely an expectation that he's taking things, right? If you're raiding. Lives, he's taking lives. I don't know if that really counts our doesn't fit our definition, the wow definition of going on a raid, does it? No. Nope. Yeah, he needs buddies for that. Well, he does have buddies, but not in that movie. Anyway, the end of a chapter for video games. If you'll allow. And I believe this chapter began in the mid 2000s. When the Japanese gaming industry was experiencing what games industry biz called an existential crisis I like the way they put it where there was a feeling, a fear that western audiences, their tastes were moving away from Japanese games. Grand Theft Auto, eventually assess its creed, your call of duties, your halos, these are the games that are really starting to blow up in the west, and Japan needed western audiences because at the time the console industry in Japan was shrinking as everyone was doing their gaming on handheld devices and then eventually on phones. When I started IGN, we went to Tokyo game show. There are lots of console games on the show floor, but today, Tokyo James game show feels like a mobile gaming show. So Japan needed western gamers. There was a feeling that as the audience broadened into a little bit more casual territories, people playing Madden and FIFA and Call of Duty and halo, they weren't interested in traditional traditionally super Japanese games, your final fantasies, your dragon quests, weirder stuff like what beautiful Joe and brave fencer musashi. So Japan had to do appeal to western audiences. In 2009, Square Enix acquired eidos, and that got them both crystal dynamics in IO interactive. So that was their play square next story for western talent and hopefully western audiences. That lets you a renaissance for Tomb Raider and deus ex and hitman, although series very well received by critics considered to be commercial disappointments by Square Enix, even though, I don't know, when you look at the numbers, when you see that the original Tomb Raider reboot in 2013 sold three some million units in his first month, went on to sell 14

"Everybody. It's so good to have you back. Thank you for joining me. As I mentioned on Twitter, if y'all follow me, Britney is out this week, and so I messaged Alexa and said, hey, I know you were just on the show. But I heard you might be having just a tiny bit of free time that you could lend to us here at what's good games. You know, your former friends. Well, I guess active friends, former colleagues. My active Friends from her colleagues, yes, yes, yes. Yes, I do. And I was like, yeah, man, bring me on. Love it. Puppy. I'm ready to play. Today. So I mentioned that you have some free time, and that's because you are recently freelanced narrative designer, is that accurate? I have a left sledgehammer games this week and I will have more to say on my adventure soon, but for now, I am just a rogue agent. Oh, I like that you use the word rogue because it is Star Wars Day. So if you're listening to the podcast on Friday, obviously may the fourth happened earlier in the week, but I wore my Star Wars shirt that I never get to wear and I actually did my makeup. Alexa, can you believe it? I had to look so nice. To sit down and actually like put eyeshadows on and feel like a person again, it felt it felt good to take some time to do makeup, so I talked about the phone on the show before that I've kind of fallen down a TikTok rabbit hole. One of the TikTok oh my God. Genres that I watch a lot of is makeup tutorials, even though I don't really wear makeup most days of the week, but I just love watching it and I feel like as a woman at this point of my life, there's so much that I should have known like a decade ago and I didn't learn until just now and I have envy for all of the people who enjoy wearing facial paint coming up now that are going to have all these badass techniques that I am just learning. I gotta say the thing I am the most angry about that I learned again from TikTok shamed by TikTok. I always have a really hard time with like primer foundation like I sweat a lot and so when I put like that first Sheen layer on, immediately I'm like feel like I have a mask on my face and I'm like, oh my God, I can't. And someone on TikTok was like have you considered tints and I was like a tint so I went out and bought a tin and I was like shit, where's this been my whole life? And then someone else was like here's another pro tip. Mix your tint with a moisturizer and just put it on your face, which is what I did today and I'm like, Jesus Christ, like my whole life, I've been sweating for nothing, all those sweaty days hearing that stuff around in my purse. I have a very vivid memory of being at Tokyo game show, like trying to move very slowly, so I didn't sweat off all my foundation. So I was filming that day. So hot. Too hot. Too hot. Move the day. It's too hot. Well, I'm glad that you have also discovered something from TikTok. It's enriching our lives just one 15 second video out of time. Enriching and definitely rooting. Well, I think that's definitely to be debated. But what's not to be debated is the wonderful people over at Patreon dot com slash west good games who are supporting our show, like this month's Patreon producers, chewie's got some Alex gopo faris at Tia Justin Fauci Matthew kuder and punk defied. Thank you so much for supporting us. And thank you to everybody at Patreon dot com slash what's good games for hanging with us through thick and thin. I know that it's been a rough couple of months with Brittany and I had a feeling a little MIA. So I wanted to just give you guys a shout out. And speaking of shout outs, I also wanted to take the time to say thank you to everybody who is in the what's good games Discord. I recently connected with our awesome mod team, thank you to all of our mods for donating in all of their time to help us about the survey that we asked you guys to fill out back in February and I have read all of your feedback. So thank you to everybody who took the time to fill that out and I will be going over that with Brett when she is back and hopefully we'll be able to enact some of the stuff that you guys suggested. But in the meantime, please mark your calendars for Saturday may 14th as that is our alleged what's good games, 5 year anniversary celebration that we will have more details on at the beginning of next week. So I just wanted to, yeah, give a shout out to everybody. So thank you for that. And today's show is brought to you by me undies and HelloFresh, but I'll tell you more about that later. For now, let's get into Star Wars Day news roundup. And Alexa, I have to be honest. I thought there was gonna be more news today. And there wasn't really that much news. I'm very underwhelmed. I am extremely underwhelmed by today's news. What'd you think of me?

"May 5th, 2022. I'm one of your host Greg Miller alongside Forbes 30 under 30. AKA the second best baby loses San Francisco. AKA the verified one at Tim gettys. Happy Doctor Strange day to you, Greg Miller. Tim, I'm vibrating with excitement. I was thinking the show is going to be ladies and gentlemen, boys and girls, people of all ages. You have picked an amazing episode to tune into. There's a lot of great news. There's going to be a lot of great conversation. And I'm just in a great fucking mood. And I was like, how can I how can I distill the mood I'm into Tim Getty still understand? And I thought of the wise words of one Nick scarpino. That's the level of energy and happiness that is going around me right now. And let me tell you, seeing Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness today is definitely at the top of the list. Hell yeah, that's the energy I like to hear. I'm in an uchi mood myself. I don't know about the Gucci bushi, but you know we'll get there. You're gonna get me there, Greg Miller. Oh, I'm gonna get you there. I have something right over here. But while I'm here, I'll just tell you about the housekeeping. Doctor Strange, the rest of us are seeing it tonight. Of course, a few of us have already seen it. You can catch the spoiler free review for Doctor Strange right now. YouTube dot com slash kind of funny. And of course, the screencast podcast feeds. Then tomorrow we're recording in review from the marvel MCU in review that'll be the big old official one. Spoilers all over the place. Or when you see it, you can watch it. That's getting recorded live tomorrow. And cravings are posted tomorrow as well tomorrow. Yes, it will. All right, so it should be posted tomorrow about 5 p.m. Pacific by then it'll be live. Now, if you'll excuse me, let's get the movie taste out of my mouth. We're here to talk about video games. And what I want to show you, Tim, is this. Everybody knows Eric Castro. Of course, world famous bartender did a show called follow the leader with us. It's gotten us insanely drunk on many occasions. Correct him. Oh, very correct. Do you follow him closely on Instagram? I do. Have you seen him go down the rabbit hole of losing his mind to retro video games and repairing Russia video games and doing all these different things? It's extremely, extremely cool to watch. Yesterday I opened up my mailbox, had a little package from Eric Castro and what did I have Tim? A basically brand new refurbished Game Boy color. Hell yeah. Now charging with USB-C on there. I don't have to worry about it. And these things just fantastic. And of course, I hit him up and I said, oh, Eric, this is amazing. Thank you so much what a gift. He said no problem, brother, happy birthday. And I was like, thank you. And he's like, do you have Game Boy games? They started recommending stuff. I'm like, listen, there's only one place to start. And that's terminator two. February terminator two, which is haunted me. Remember, I was a child watching family ties. It's the only time I was able to actually get to the past. I kept getting stuck rerouting the terminator's chip, but one time I did it and I was so excited watching family ties that I immediately crashed and died, but I did it at one time, but it was always too hard for me. So the first thing I did to him is, of course, you know, kind of funny best friend sent me terminator to the Game Boy cartridge. So what I did is, of course, I put it in my desk and then I don't know if you remember, we don't talk about it much. In March 2020, we were going to go home for two weeks. And then that turned into a lifetime. And so our desks got wrapped up and put into the new office where they're building an office around. It's like, I know that I don't have. So the first thing I Googled last night went and bought terminator two for 20 bucks. I was like, I'm going to get it next week. This is going to be great. I can't wait. Came down this morning. That was last night. When I watched the finale for Ozark, Kevin, you need to finish it so we can talk about it. Then I came down here last while I slept. Then I came down here, that came out here this morning. Sit down, stretch up, open my fit, as soon as I opened up my documents to get to go for work, I was like, wait a second. And I went over to where I keep all my physical games and pulled it out and your goddamn right, I didn't let that get in the desk. I already had terminator two motherfucker, so you know what I'm doing today, waiting for Doctor Strange to start. I love it. Shit out of some goddamn terminators. I'm going to Dave John Connor. I'm so proud of you. I do have a couple of questions though about that whole thing. When you so excited for watching family ties or were you so excited that you got as far as you did that it caused you to while watching family ties. Family ties was a rerun. It was 16 million. Gotcha. It definitely wasn't one of the ones where Tom Hanks shows up as the alcoholic brother. I love those and I was a big fan of those. But no, it was just an episode on, but it's one of those seared in your childhood memories of that game that was so difficult. You couldn't do anything in. And then the one time to do it. Yeah, exactly. The one time I was able to do it, like it was a Saturday and I panic, but I have like that snapshot encapsulating that are old ass living room with family ties and the giant tube TV. And then that was over. I hope I am with you tonight when you beat terminator two on the game. First of all, I guarantee I won't beat it tonight. I'm sure how long is it terminator two in the Game Boy? It can't be that long. I was surprised, dude. I played Mario Super Mario land two, 6 golden coins still holds up still fantastic game. But it took like 45 minutes to beat. Let's take a look. When I was a kid, this was endless adventure. I remember also being a kid right, and Ghostbusters on the Sega master system is the thing that got me into it, right? But come on now, you think I could get as a child? Do you think I could get past the part where the ghosts were throwing the plates? Is the Ghostbusters try to climb the stairs of Dana smart building? Could not do it. And I remember then years later, but I'm talking about, you know, jumping from 6 to 11 or whatever, turning on and getting past that and getting to go there. And I was like, oh man, young Greg was stupid. So this is going to be a big test now of how dumb Greg was as a young kid, but also how old Greg is now, I remember rerouting the microchip being so fucking difficult. Is it that difficult? It's about a little over an hour, Craig. So how long did it be? How long did he beat our 23? Like, you understand what's going to happen, right? Is that I'm going to do it and then get to the motorcycle part and flip out again. It would be family ties on the screen. It'll be fucking Maria menudos tell me something. What I'm going to jump up in that theater and tell everybody, I finally made it. I love it. I know we're going long on this, but I do want to say one thing, because now that you're set up for it, I feel like I can recommend you this in a way that actually makes sense. But one of the most underrated video games of all time and I think in recent times because of the analog pocket and just kind of the rise in retro stuff and all of that. We've seen a little bit more deserved love for it. Donkey Kong 94 on the Game Boy. It's not donkey Kong country. It's the OG donkey Kong, like arcade game, but it's expanded and there's a lot of stuff. It's like one of the best puzzler puzzle games of our time of any time, really. And none of people talk about it, just letting you know. This is why, you know, you know that Eric Castro is the homie because we're talking, I'm like, I gotta order some Game Boy games now. He goes, Super Mario land two, 6 coins is a banger. Donkey Kong 94 is crazy dope too. My man. Two games I mentioned. The system has so many bangers.
A highlight from Hopes for PlayStation's Next Big Showcase... Whenever It Is - Beyond 748
"PlayStation show covering all the latest and greatest and what may happen in the world of PlayStation because we do have some big news to talk about this week in the world of acquisitions and things of third parties, but we've also got some big questions about what the future of PlayStation may hold as we start to get into what is normally the summer event season or at the beginning of May and we'll see where things go from there. But before we get to that, I'm joined this week by Jada Griffin. Hello, hello. And it's just me this week. I have nobody else on my screen in front of me, but you, Jonathan, so it's just me and you today talking about games. There is no third person regardless of what you might see in the show later when it posts. Well, then we're either in a situation where I have created a fictional character that is my inner voice and we're going to get into a very fun growing up sort of story about my own psyche and my own thoughts or we're also joined this week by Mark Medina. My money don't jiggle jiggle it folds, Jonathan dornbush. I am here whether Jada wants me here or not. That was where you went. That was the, all right. What's so funny is that I heard that song like 6 months ago. Why is it the trend on TikTok now? Because that's all that matters, man. It doesn't matter why something trends or how it trends, all that matters is the trend. That's true. I get for anyone for anyone who doesn't know, I guess I don't know if an old man explaining tiktoks is really the thing to do here for me, but yeah, the sound that you're referencing from the TikTok trend, my favorite part about it is the dead eyed stare that everyone does. I think the dance and the whole the whole shtick of it isn't funny unless you are just looking miserable in the video. Yeah, well, I think because in the original video, it's like the lady and she's like, do you know the rap and he just starts rapping and she's just like she was like looking at him? Just don't like so good. Also happy may the fourth to you both. Yes and happy fourth. I'm gonna kickstart one or two things real quick. A I told mark in our slack conversation before that there was a reason why, you know, with the severance opinions up to everybody has it the same. Everybody who, you know, and that the reason why you don't want to know the reason why Mark is because everybody's allowed to have an opinion and I respect it. That is the reason why that's the status of everybody. You were expecting something much worse when I told you that everybody severance has one thing in common. I know. We were having a lot to have a feeling. I was like the show was so good and she's like, you know, everybody likes severance. They have something in common. I was like, oh gosh, what's it gonna be? They have opinions. That's what apparently it's that we have opinions. And I respect it. Speaking of opinions, this week, I do want to just start off rather than a TV show. I do want to recommend I did put it in my background for anyone watching the video. As it has made the fourth, if I can give one recommendation, I think I've mentioned it on the show before, but if you really enjoy Star Wars, if you're looking for more Star Wars stuff and you haven't read, there it is. If you're watching the video, if you haven't read the high republic yet at all, please read the high republic. I've been spending the last like two weeks reading all of the books. I'm starting in the comics, everything. It is legitimately some of my favorite Star Wars ever and some of the best Star Wars of the last decade, whatever. It's really good. It's really fun if you enjoy the Jedi aspect of it all and want to see more Jedi doing awesome stuff. And a lot of really really great storytelling really emotional stuff surprisingly moving in a lot of ways. Go check all of that out. It's really, really good. I just want to say that 'cause it's great and it's made the fourth. Jaina, before we get to my trophy test, did you have another thing that you wanted to mention? I did, I did. I consult everything everywhere all at once yesterday. You guys over hyped it again. No. I'll tell what I refuse to take. All right, all right. The movie was amazing. One of the best movies I have seen this year. But you guys, everybody keeps talking about these things as being the next messiah of this genre and things like that. And don't get me wrong, they did amazing work with the multiverse. They did such and messiah was a replacement word for something as could not think of at the time. So please do not crucify me. I am just on that kick and guarantee today. Easter was a few weeks ago. Easter was a few weeks ago. I'm still celebrating. There's eggs still somewhere hidden in my house. No, I love the movie. It was really good. I do feel like it was a little overhyped, so I went in expecting a lot more.
A highlight from Nintendo Workplace Issues Arise - Kinda Funny Games Daily 05.04.22
"Yo, what's up? Welcome to kind of funny games daily for Wednesday, may 4th, 2022. I want your host blessing Addy a junior joining me is game on assist. AKA Janet Garcia. Yo, what's good? Janet, what do you think is going through claw master's mind right now? I don't even know where to begin with that answer. Claw master is a person in chat who right before the show chatted. Oh man, I hope Gary, I hope Gary whitta makes it on today's show to which I replied, oh yeah, it's a Gary and free and Mira Bill a day. We got him. We got him. We got a real good. He had no idea. Yeah, April fools were like, we're what month is it? Well, God, we're in May. I was going to say we're four days in April. We're four days into May. That's probably where the request comes from. But I will say if y'all in chatter like, oh, that's such a whack joke. Just reflect on all the jokes you throw at us at every second and every day in this chat because we got some energy. That's too God. Me and you're on fire today. Jen, how are you doing? I'm doing pretty good, you know? I woke up in time to do at least one task. And that's good enough for me, you know? I got my shower in. And then I just poured some coffee. It's not that glamorous, but for me, I'm like, you know, I read some stuff before as well. So, you know, like checking that turn out what's going on with the show, but yeah, what about you? How are you doing? I'm doing all right. It's been a very standard Wednesday it's been a very standard Wednesday. I did get my Starbucks, I had my small life coffee. I got my croissant, you know? It's been one of those days where I got home from Starbucks, and I was just like, yeah, it's a weekday. The small and not the medium. Why not? 'cause I don't even finish the small if I'm being honest. I drink like half of this thing, yeah. Why? Why do you even get it at this point just for the vibes? I respect it. Pretty much is like a Steve wolf next situation where I take two sips of the coffee. And I feel the effect. Except for today. You did have a tea kick and tea is like a little, it's a different type of caffeine intensity. So I think like when you got back kind of going to the Starbucks coffee route, that was a lot for you to go back to. Yeah. How long have you been drinking coffee real quick? 'cause this could be a whole separate segment. Well, a while because before this job, I worked at Starbucks headquarters, and I worked there starting in. Do you know how to make all the drinks and stuff? No. What did you do something else? Like we're not a barista where you're like no, I wasn't. I worked in the financial lease department. So basically I did a lot of least work and a lot of admin stuff. But on each floor are multiple multiple kitchens. And there's always somebody who does know how to make coffee at Starbucks. Like somebody's gonna make the coffee and then you just go and you take a partake from the pot they made and it's great. But when I was there, I did drink coffee, but that's where I realized that I preferred tea a bit more because it didn't like the way coffee made me feel. Because one, I'll drink coffee. I think I get like the harder coffee crash, which I was never a fan of, but then also like, coffee make sure your stomach be wild things. Just pile it on. Yeah, it's like I feel like that's a bad stop drinking it. And then you never feel the downside. Coffee. Well, maybe it's why is that why I always need a nap all the time? Is that what you're trying to tell me? I mean, probably, yeah. I have the post, you probably have this to do the post KFG like crash. You're like, man, I just did a high energy activity. I'm going to lay down for a bit, and then you wake up and it's 4 p.m.. Yep. Yeah. Pretty much. But yeah, like I was drinking coffee there and then after a while, I was like, you know what, I mean, I'm going to turn this shit a tea because they had a lot of tea in that office as well. And that's where I really started to gain a love for tea because I started to discover different flavors of tea. And I started to get into the mint teas. I started to get into like the chamomile, even though Camille, you probably shouldn't have until like before bed because it's like no caffeine in that thing. Yeah, it's like a very much a sleepy tea. But I kind of waned off of coffee then and then now like working out kind of funny is what brought me back to coffee in a bigger way because I found that I could really use the bursts of energy, especially before hosting a kind of funny games daily. But it's the thing of trying to find the balance. Like I've gone through a journey since hosting kind of funny games daily. We're like, I started off. I was doing tea. I was like, oh, teens working. Tea was not working. Decided to move to coffee. Coffee was working, but it was working a little bit too well to where now I feel like I am like two energy up. I'm like shaky. I have to copy it. On that border, but becoming Greg, you know? When you pass that threshold, you can't come back. The power is going above 9000, you know? Yeah. Some would say. And then I started microdosing coffee. I'll drink sips just to see how far I could go with it. Where the nice sweet spot was. But I've also found that there's just a very, there's just a big inconsistency with me and how I react to coffee. Like it depends on time of day. It depends on if I've eaten, it depends on how much water I drink to start the day off with. It's a whole, there's a whole science experiment going on with my body that I'm still not have gotten to the bottom of. But that said, this is part of the routine now. I think half of why I go out and get coffee nowadays is to literally just leave my apartment because I could DoorDash coffee all day every day. That's what I feel like. That's so, I feel like if your door dashing coffee, I'm just gonna throw out there. I don't know if snow by Mike's finances. I feel like you're a different tax bracket than me. If you're out here DoorDash and coffee, like, no, I can't. I can't, I can't get with it. This is too much. And I just like leaving the apartment is the thing. I do like the ritual of actually going on the drive and coming back and getting the sunlight because that's the thing that I was missing a lot during the pandemic. This sounds so dark, you know, really cool before we get into all the stuff for the show. But just getting air, like fresh air. I'm like, y'all breathe this air lately. It's been different than this. Oh my God. You nature hits differently nowadays. It does. I'm like, yo, the graphics on this thing is insane. Did I tell you about how I had a moment when I was weeks into elden ring? There's so many moments in elderly where it's like, man, this view is gorgeous. Wow, I can't believe they're able to pull off. This design in the world and the environments. Sure. A few weeks into playing Eldon ring, I was on a McDonald's run, not in the game in real life. I go to McDonald's, I go through a drive through. And as I'm turning out of the drive-through, I like get a view because San Francisco is very hilly, right? I got a view of a downturn over hill. Going for like probably like a mile. And I saw the view, and I was like, wow, the graphics are gorgeous.
A highlight from Starfield delayed, What's Coming in Fall. Sega Says It's Releasing Some Games, And More Friday Fun! 308
"Up everybody, this is Carrick with ACG and I'm here with abzi in silver and red in Johnny for the international podcast just the tip podcast best gaming podcast Friday fun podcast number three O 7. What? That's all the names. We haven't really settled on a name. Just go with it. Right now, dude. Which name are we going for for the rest of the time? We've done it multiple times. We've been like, this is the one we're going with. And then it falls apart every time, because just the tip, I vote just that the just the tip was funny, but then you get people coming on who like, I mean, it is sort of weirdly sexual. It's just like, I don't know, it's sort of like something I would do when I was 15, but not so much when I'm my young 25. I still do. It's good. I want to come up with something. I sort of like the best gaming podcast because like I was telling abs, it works for SEO. That's very harmful. Branding. Well, branding, if somebody says, what's the best gaming podcast we come up now in Google. So I'm just like, this gives me flashbacks of my buddy trying to start a marketing company. And he wanted to call it the media. And it's like, dude. Come on, dude. But that's pretty intelligent, right? No. Why not? Because you searched the media. What are you going to get? More people would get the problem with that. Is that nobody's searching for the media? But people may search. They search for the best. No, it is. Like one of the number one searches. Yeah. Anyway, sup, everybody. Thank you very much for joining us. You may notice that we don't have an alert going out to a lot of people on YouTube. I'm trying to look at that because it is now negatively affecting all the videos so much when it comes to people not wanting to, we have an awesome base of people who want to watch the podcast, but and those people click religiously, they watch religiously, but people do come for the reviews. And when they don't click that, then it stops them from getting the next video. And it's now become such a major impact to the views on the normal videos that I'm trying to figure out exactly how to go about this. So I put I put this on different playlists than I normally would. So some of you will get alerts some of you will not. And I just got to play with it. But you'll notice we have a lot less because I've removed it from the review playlist. Also, if somebody's watching my reviews and they suddenly want to go to the next one and suddenly they see us talking, they're like, that's not a review. And I think that's only fair. So I am trying to figure that out. What that means is you guys need to spread the word that we're doing these Fridays, ten 30 a.m. Pacific standard time. Let's begin. Games we've been oh yeah, dude. Sorry. But did you find a ladybug or something, man? What the fuck just happened? No, no, I just said hell yeah. I thought you were like, oh man. My thumb, you're on LSD. Wow. DMG. Maybe maybe a little bit. I gotta notate the time here. Ten 37 is when I started talking about this game. I can't remember the name. It's got a two in it. What is this one? Abzi and reg and I all played? Elysium, the 2D game. Rising. Chronicles. Oh, my dear God. Sorry. Am I pronouncing it wrong? No, I don't know. You didn't chronicle rising. Yeah, so I didn't know what this game was. I asked the devs for a copy of the code and I definitely appreciate that. I got it, but it was not what I thought it was going to be, man. I don't know if I didn't go get that far with it, but it's just a man. It's like, you know, when old people or in movies, they think what a game is. It's basically what people who don't know what games are, think games are. You know what I mean? It's like, it's just very generic, you know what I mean? It's like, go, you're an adventurer and there's villages. I was telling these guys the actual page. Now remember, this is a game that's coming out as a prequel to a bigger game that was kick started, I believe. So this game, what's interesting about it is you play it and they're like, go find some wood and you literally just you go find some wood. And that's
A highlight from Episode 126 - The People vs TBH
"School. Yeah. Shout out to all my Ubuntu users. I think this is actually a really interesting time for gaming and handhelds because I watched the review the other day. There's another device that just came out called the I and neo. And it looks like the steam deck like the switch to and it's a full blown PC in your hand too. And from the reviews that I've watched, they said functionally and in terms of the number of the games that it can run, it's actually better than the steam deck is just the price is out of control compared to it's like 1300 compared to the steam deck. I'm looking at it right now. It's 12, 12, 15, 15, yeah. It's exciting though because it's like it's going to create competition, I think, and I think in the next 5 years, like this could be like a whole new genre thing of gaming where we're going to see start seeing more PC handheld. So I think it's a we're on the cusp of something exciting and I'm not mad at it. I think we're in like a really cool renaissance. I think of handhelds that I think now we've finally gotten to the point with technology where the power capabilities and how we've been able to shrink power so small now that we're able to get like the steam deck is essentially like a PlayStation, like a PS4, like a little, it's even stronger than the PS4 was, but it's like a hyper powered PS4 in your hand. And when you think about that, that's kind of insane. Like back in the day when we only had Game Boy colors and stuff like that back in the day, just imagining, you know, that this is what the escalation would be like. So you never know what the future can hold. It seems like a lot of the market right now, like Xbox wants you to be able to play your games wherever you want, right? So this kind of reinforces that ideology of like being able to play your games. However, wherever you want. And I was a Vita fan. I was really mad at Sony about how they discontinued it and they failed to support it 'cause I always thought it had so much potential. I've said that like the Vito basically walked so that the switch could run and now I feel like the steam deck's like flying now. So I think I definitely agree. I think it'll be very interesting to see if Nintendo stops playing around and makes a pro version of the switch or whatever their new version of the switch will be and just seeing like actually valve because valve has said they are blown away and they've been making a boatload of money off of this thing. Like it's been selling like a ton of like a ton of units have been selling like it's been always on the top three of their steam top sellers list like every single week so that's a positive sign. It's very possible that they're going to see this huge want of people who want this type of tech and they'll make a second generation of the steam deck. I would be surprised if they don't and you know that just makes things even better for everybody. So yeah, definitely. Have you docked it yet? Like played around in dark mode. Yeah, I spent a little bit of time with it. I've been honestly more fascinated with the handheld cape of the handheld portion. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Yeah. It makes sense. I got this whole thing to want to go like, do stuff like play it on my couch. You know, with the pandemic and everything like that. Like I'm not really using this thing as like, I'm gonna walk outside and play this thing like walking around or whatever. It's not really what I've been using it for, but it's been nice to be able to step away from sitting at a desk in a table and just sit back in all my bed on the couch, you know, in between when I'm at the office or something like that. I can just pop this thing out. I can plug in a game, I could play it, then I could turn it off. I could come home later on. I could just turn back on my PC or whatever it is, and I can continue where I left off. It's actually really cool. Just being able to do that, however I want. And try like emulation and play older games on and stuff like that. It's really a dream come true. Cool. Are you sold me? I'm buying this thing. If you can get that, you're assuming you get engaged. I would say. It's $5. You don't lose them. There's no loss, really. It's $5, you know, you'll have to wait until probably like Q four or the beginning of next year, but when you get one, or you might get lucky, maybe they speed up production even further, but if you get your hands on one, I don't think anyone's gonna buy this thing and you regret it. I feel like everyone who bought it has been like just surprised and amazed by itself. 5 down and hope you get that golden ticket from Willy Wonka one day. Pretty much. Now I'm going to go on that was going to lead to my question, ethos. You know how you remember when the PS5 came out and you know we said that we didn't recommend it at the time because there were no games, right? But this is a specific situation because I mean you could play BC games and you can play emulators pretty much so you know almost anything that you want and you know if you find out how to do it and you know deleting to your imagination. So would you recommend someone like going to get it day one if they can or just go to get it now? You can get your hands on this a retail. I would say get it immediately. If you somehow get lucky and you've got a chance of getting it or some friend wants to sell it to you but get it because like even if you don't like it, there are a ton of people who are gonna want this device and I personally think like yeah it is like it doesn't have the issue that consoles have day one where it's like well where's the games? What am I supposed to play on this thing, right? Like every single game a majority of games on your steam library, you're gonna be able to play. I think he told me like 300 of the games that are in my library right now are verified so that means I can just play them and they're gonna work and now some of them are unsupported but I've played like 5 games that valve was like yeah unsupported, we haven't tested this game so we don't know if it's gonna work on the steam deck and it just worked. I just booted up and it just worked. I've had other games like two games where I couldn't get it to work but I had to like do some tweaking but for the most part like I was able to get DMC 5, I was playing devil May cry on it Virgil edition 60 FPS. I was able to play Witcher three on it 60 FPS. I was able to play elden ring at it about 50 FPS. It's kind of insane. You know, older games even now. I've seen people play Red Dead Redemption two 60 FPS. It's kind of crazy, so. Yeah. What about to say? Just like my trainer 'cause I'm freaking tired. Oh my oh, I was gonna say, yeah, save it for the rest of the video. We have a whole in depth video on the GI channel. YouTube dot com slash GI updates. If you guys want it's a whole 17 minute video where he reviews it. So if you want to hear more, I just wanted you to give like a quick little in case they didn't see that. Go check out that video. And then also, are you testing this game on a sandwich for samurai zero? Yes, I've been testing it and it is actually playable right now. I'm gonna make improvement. Yeah, it's fully playable on steam day. JB, samurai zero is eat those games that he's working on. He's our resident game developer so he thinks he's smarter than everybody else. Yeah, absolutely. I go around with a big brain, just hit doors just trying to get through doors because of my mom. Well, considering me and you could have probably just talked for like 30 minutes about the steam deck. I think I like ethos. We're gonna keep in touch. Okay, very good. We'll make sure we get that exclusive GM and make sure you get that installation for sure. We're good friends. All right man, let's talk about Overwatch two. Recently they had a beta trying to show it out to the people get some feedback, it's been with like two, three years in development, I believe. 5 V 5, no longer 66, new characters or John, whatever her name is just the friend of the teammate of soldier 76, new game mode where you instead of pushing the payload, now you can push and pull the payload. How are we feeling about this, ethos? Why did you pick me first? Now, ask golden boy. Matter of fact, yeah, you're the eSports guy. How are you feeling about Overwatch to the bank? Yeah, yeah, yeah. No, I think firstly, I think the thing that kind of needs to be cleared up first is that a lot of people were going into this expecting this to be like Overwatch too, right? Like if that makes sense

"With ACG abzi always has to ask that every time. I do. I can't say dude, what do you hold back? Let's be honest. Everything. Nothing at all. I'm here with very edgy person. I'm here with Johnny. I'd be canceled. I'm here with Johnny, abzi. Silver and red and the lovely, well, what do we call a senior senior theater writer? Correct. Currently. Jordan L, who was nice enough to join our podcast. As you guys know, we've had a couple of people from gearbox on and I was thanking everybody for coming on because a lot of people have done spectacular work coming on the podcast talking about games talking about what they love. Our job sort of to introduce you to them and not to the rigmarole that exists in the gaming world. Too much, at least unless we're talking about VRR on the PlayStation. And so we decided to have him on. He was like, hey, let's jump in here. It's going to be good. We've got some other people coming on in the next couple of weeks. And I want to give a shout out to a complete poet, one of the best music writers in the world, Freddie Mercury, who also was clairvoyant when he wrote, we are the champions for this podcast. I just want to say thank you very much. Thank you. Freddie Mercury. Thank you very much. I just watched the movie. Did you guys watch the one with me about it? I have not. No. It's enjoyable, man. It's like it was a lot of sort of behind the scenes of what you expect, but there was actually some stuff in there that was pretty heartfelt that I wasn't expecting. I really like. We're going to talk about games. We've got stuff from warhammer. We've got stuff from devolver digital. We've got stuff from square. We're going to talk about square selling off their devs. We're going to talk about outriders, not making money. We're going to talk about games and probably have an eclectic life question that makes no sense until I fix it for Johnny. Oh yeah. Like the pinky, if you were born with a pinky or not. What was that if you were born, what was that? Like how would you perform oral sex if you have a no, no, no, that wasn't the question. What was the question? Your significant other would have been pinky, but would not. Field of all illnesses. Okay, let's just move on. Let's move on. Let's talk about it. All right, it doesn't make money, right? Hold on, you gave me a new game idea. Yeah. Absolutely apparently was doing too much testosterone before he showed up. He's just like, he's all sweaty, and I'm pumping, dude. I'm bumping. But we do want to thank for showing up and, you know, I do let everybody pimp what they're working on, but as we said, you know, most stuff's NDA, is there anything that you do, though, that you know, maybe it's on the outside, maybe it's a hobby or something like that, Jordan, that you want to talk about. Do you have a website, anything like that? If you don't, it's fine, but I always got if only. No, you can just follow me on Twitter because I'm addicted to it and spend far too much time on there. You do. You do. Yeah. It's not good. What's your handle so people have Jordan anomaly? And combine my name in anomaly. And that's clever. Just go to ACG's Twitter and tag me in it and desperately tweet. That's easier. Yep. Definitely follow him. Like I said, we're trying to get people on here who are sort of not on a bunch of podcasts and want to talk about games and not be, you know, we're not super into the politics. So it's nice to have him on. Let's jump into what we've been playing first so that we can sort of get an idea because some of these games we're going to talk about are in the news. So Jordan, you're the, you're the guest, man. Do you have anything you've been playing? All right, I'll give you I always play a lot of games at once. And then since I got the steam deck, that's like increased. So the ones I played at least within the last two days are kingdom come deliverance, LEGO sky worker saga. Kakarot, switch sports, door from antic, rogue legacy two, vampire survivors, and I play this mobile game that's new Japan pro wrestling that uses FMV footage like fork and train up wrestlers and fight them. Like a hundred hours of that so far, it got me into GPW. It's great. That's it. So I think like 8 games right now. Only 8 games at once. Do you multi box or is it just like just I have ADHD? So I just hopped from Facebook. Yeah, whatever energy pulls yet. Dude, exactly. Full motion video we talked for about an hour last week. I did not that you're saying you love full motion video now, but I've never really had an issue with it, and I did, let's see. She sees red last week, found out that the contradiction detective from my favorite FMV of all time is actually done two more games, which I was completely surprising about.
