Not killed, kissed, ya bird brain Meet Flounder Ariel, you know I can't swim that fast Scuttle Womp, tickle, womp, womp Ya finished? Womp And Sebastian I'm a crab on a mission In the 3D movie event of the summer When I give the signal, you drop me Got it Disney's The Little Mermaid Rated PG Forensal guidance suggested in theaters Friday Yo, what's up? Welcome to Kinda Funny Games Daily For Thursday, May 25th, 2023 I'm one of your hosts, Blessing Adioy Jr. Joining me is the LaCroix Poppy himself A .K .A. the man with the grande coffee I got that size wrong, didn't I? A .K .A. Trenta Tim Ma Buyan Yetis Bless him, how you doing, Bless? I'm doing pretty good, how you doing, Tim? Your hair's coming in We were talking about this, you know We gotta get to that right moment It's looking good I appreciate it I am a bit tired and a bit sore I've been talking to Greg about trying to get back on working out I've been trying to go to the gym with Rod I've not done that multiple days yet But I have been doing ring fit And Beat Saber And I woke up this morning with soreness in areas I didn't know could get sore I have a back region here That's a little bit sore And I'm like, is that a symptom of old age? Is it me about to turn 30 soon? Once you hit 25, that's when people are allowed to feel their lower back Not everybody does Not everybody gets graced with that until maybe 30 or something like that But where are you at now, 28? 28 I'm about to turn 29 very soon Yeah, yeah, yeah I'm scared There it goes, starts there What did we do in the last year of my 20s? Yeah I turned 29 That's gonna be July I turned 29 Do I take back the year? Do I buy some property? Like, what direction do I go, Tim? Do it all Live it up, Bless I support you All right, I'm gonna buy some property First, I gotta figure out where I can afford property It's not San Francisco, let me tell you Tim, how are you feeling one day after the showcase? I'm feeling a lot Yes, feeling a lot You know, it's a lot to take in I will say on the positive side I watched the Spider -Man 2 presentation in 4K on my TV And oh my God, it's beautiful It looks very impressive Realizing this is Insomniac After what we've already known them to do with Spider -Man 1 With Miles Morales being a great taste of PS5, the RTX And all that stuff They even had that RTX, the midway performance mode thing That I was like, hey cool I feel like that's kind of the performance Yes, like that's great Insomniac's been pushing the tech forward And then you see Rift Apart, right? Seeing Ratchet and Clank have that back and forth And seeing yesterday Miles and Peter be able to Seemingly on the fly go back and forth The potential of that I think is really cool I still have my trepidations Just like I did watching Rift Apart's trailers And promotional material Where I was like, this is cool But is it really going to be just this cutscene heavy And feeling this scripted of just in these moments You're pulling the rifts And I feel like on the Spider -Man side It could be the same But you think about Grand Theft Auto V And switching between the characters And how cool that was But that also involved a fly out, fly in Let's see if it worked correctly type thing Whereas this looked so seamless And with the level of fidelity And the power of the SSB It really is SSB So yeah, the Spider -Man side I feel like I've only gotten higher on Everything else from the showcase I mean, I think disappointing is the word I feel like, you know Talking about the quality of good, bad And all that stuff I think is almost irrelevant Because no matter who I've talked to Every single person's used the word disappointed To describe what we got yesterday Compared to what we expect from PlayStation At this point in time in the PS5's life cycle And from what we know of the talent That they have to work with The IP that they have to work with I'd be surprised if people that keep up With this industry And keep up with these showcases If somebody watched that And wasn't disappointed Tim, I think for me I'm left with a lot of questions And also our audience is left with a lot of questions Because a lot of you guys wrote into kindofunny .com slash K at treated with questions So we're going to get into all of it Today's stories include a PlayStation showcase recap Our Gollum review and

"Yo what's up welcome to kind of funny games daily for Wednesday May 24th 2023 I'm gonna host Blessing at LA junior joining me is WWE superstar Greg Miller hello Blessing how are you you look great today so do you thank you but you just do it every day you know what I mean I do one of these things where I break it out for the special occasion these days you're just coming in knocking out of the parking shed every day you know I'll tell you the smoke machines had me oh they didn't go off at the top oh my god god what are they gonna go what are they gonna go what are they gonna go the jib didn't go at first it was freaking me out so that was what I noticed I was like oh the jib's taking a little bit of time I wonder if it's just gonna stay there and then Barrett was able to make it happen I pressed the button and it just didn't go until a couple seconds don't worry about it don't you worry about it Barrett you're doing great great you know what you know what I did this morning what you do I woke up I could've guessed a lot of things by the way a lot of things right there I woke up and I played some ring fit adventure I'm back on the horse and I did that and I was like you know what I'm gonna do now I'm gonna pick up Beat Saber and play I really I didn't get a breakfast burrito this morning it was really great and then after Beat Saber I did you get the breakfast burrito from that place Kevin's been going to at the top of the hill no okay no no I got it from the place like it's down the street it's the place I've been going to regularly that has great donuts great breakfast sandwiches it's where I got a tuna sandwich for breakfast and everybody made fun of me because I ate tuna for breakfast sure but they have fantastic options there okay and I just had their sausage burrito for the first time very good yeah okay very very good good good I don't know if I'm gonna make it my main thing sure I think I'm gonna go back to the breakfast sandwich you tried it yeah is this the breakfast sandwich I want to try one day you said yes yeah I'll just split half of mine cuz they give you a really big sandwich I never finish it okay fair enough it's a big day today Greg blessing the days in our industry don't get any bigger than today of course it's Blackbird's 10th birthday remember that when he's just like this game has brought me nothing but money and pain I'm turning it off oh god that was awesome yeah I think I still have an Android phone that has Blackbird on it sell that on eBay right now I mean I would if I wait 20 more years nobody will know you remember make some cash how you feeling today excited hyped ready you know it's a huge day with the PlayStation showcase bearing down on us we can't wait here kind of funny a whole bunch of different stuff going on you know it's a big day when Tim comes to your desk our desk and he's like here's how it's gonna go you guys do games daily then it's the super chat section tell the chat don't ask super chats about the PlayStation showcase because when the super chat section ends we're staying alive and you guys are leaving to eat food and then we're just doing a PlayStation predictions part where it'll be me and Andy Nick asking questions and then we'll come back and then it's like all right damn this is a fucking day this is you gotta run a show e3 is here even though it's dead the specter of e3 lives on today it feels very much like the old days of coming into the IGN war room getting ready for PlayStation showcase at the shrine auditorium exactly like you said don't write in with their YouTube super chats with PlayStation predictions write them in about anything else of course we're gonna talk about today's news but I did want to start off with a couple of questions about the PlayStation showcase sure you can still write it into kind of funny comm slash KFGD just like J maz did well I think because I think what they wanted for their prediction piece after we sign off after after you and I leave the super chat section which can be about anything in your super chat world they want it to be like do you think X or Y is gonna happen and they'll clear their minds and say X or Y and then they'll tell you why they think it's gonna write in ask if blood born 2 is gonna happen and then Andy will tell you that no it's probably not gonna happen I mentioned on stream earlier was it earlier this week earlier this week yells on Sunday that uh if blood -borne 2 happens because people in my chat were talking about oh man blood -borne 2 what if it happens yeah if it happens I said that I'll quit my job on the spot Wow yeah on the spot Wow and so what are you gonna do what's your next I don't know I'm not I've not thought about it I've not thought that ahead a lot on the line right I'll start my own patreon no get into video game documentaries see what no clips up to sure sure make a map make some map yeah cloth maps exactly exactly I want to bring in a question from J mass who writes in the kind of funny comm slash K FGD just like you can and says happy PlayStation showcase day seems like the hype around this one is around this one is massive so might as well lean into it when it is over do you think you're gonna be left more hyped for a game already announced or something that has not yet been formally announced personally unless house market is there showing off something new I expect spiderman to really bring in bring it and become even more excited for it to release do you think something new is gonna be the one to get you excited Greg or do you think it's gonna be something from what a great question J mass I clearing my mind of the mechanism I well I think factions or whatever last of us multiplayer is has the most chance for me leaving like I can't wait to play that because right now it's all nebulous we think we know what it is maybe it's this maybe it's that maybe it's division maybe it's this if they show a lot of that and actually explain what it is and it's awesome and it's cool that would be it as I've said before in peace I love you on our great predictions episode you should check out I still think spider -man has a high has a high percentage of chance of being the one that is like holy shit I can't believe what I just saw I hope that happens but I also could easily see but it is just more spider -man all right I'm excited for more spider -man I'm not dying to play more spider -man you know what I mean and when it gets here I'll be excited for it yada yada yada and then it could be factions is the winner and I would count that as a new thing you know what is it remake look like if they show this Metal Gear Solid remake awesome what if it is something completely unannounced yeah I think usually the lead the less you know about something the more easily is to get excited about it and I feel like spider -man is either painted into the corner where we know exactly what it's going to be or it's gonna come out be like oh shit I had no idea that was gonna be like that's my thing is I think reveals are more excited than getting more additional info and something you already know about spider -man 2 has the benefit of not having gameplay out there yet and so that is the thing that they can come out and go hey here's something you've not seen before in spider -man 2 and Wallace in that way but it's when you compare that to what if we see Metal Gear Solid 3 remake what if we see whatever blue points working on what if we see the next game from one of PlayStation's new astrobot what if we see a new astrobot or Ghost of Tsushima 2 like there's so many things that we don't know about where if they showed up automatically you're getting hyped even if it's just a logo whereas for this I for the stuff that we know you can have a dope new armored core trailer you can have a dope new spider -man trailer I guess another Death Stranding trailer would be pretty dope right but if you already know these things are gonna happen I guess for me I'm I'm always looking for that new stuff and the new stuff is always the stuff that I'm looking for that new new that's that's the

Giant Bombcast
A highlight from Giant Bombcast 790: MILE HIGH MUDSLIDE
"Hey, everybody, it's Tuesday, May 23rd, 2023. I didn't know that we were this far in the month of May. And that means we're pretty far into the year. We're almost at the halfway point, folks. Welcome to the Giant Bombcast, episode 790, powered by NZXT. That's right, folks. Only through the power of NZXT and these big honking video cards can we bring you the full glorious power of the Giant Bombcast. I'm your host, Jan Ochoa. But just like I can't do this podcast without this big honking video card and this nice computer with several fans, if I lean forward because I have a weird desk placement, I'm getting a nice breeze from one of the fans, one of the exhaust fans. That's nice. Right now. Joining me, co -captain of the ship, Jeff Grubb. I didn't even know May went that high. There's 23 days in May. That's messed up. Is this new? I think this is new. I think this is like when everything got on the same thing with the daylight savings time in Arizona or whatever. They probably added more days in the May. I am. Yeah, the year is going way too fast. I have like we've been saying that last several years this year, just way faster than anything ever. I just cannot believe this. We're almost already in the June. Every time I blink, it's like a little bit closer to Summer Game Fest, which is like the big milestone marker I'm using right now. And I say, OK, I guess I guess we got plenty of time. And like, no, no, no more time. We got to get things happening right now. I'm like thinking Summer Game Fest feels like the... I'm always thinking in anime, as we all know. Yeah, of course. It's like our tournament arc, you know. Yes. Where where this will be our season finale. And I'm not quite sure what happens after Summer Game Fest, to be honest. But some of them may know the answer because he has the answers to everything. That's right. Jeff Bacalar. Oh, that's very sweet of you, Jan. I maybe only have answers to about 40 percent of all things. That's more than that's more percent than I have. More, more percent. You know, it's funny you mentioned the talk about the calendar year and how much of it seems like it's evaporated because you live your life by the fiscal year. So, yeah, everyone, everyone knows I'm a fiscal kind of guy. Yeah. New Year's and in April on April 1st. There we go. Let's go. Exactly. All my holidays are dictated by the stock market. Also, you know, when you really think about it, you only really get like three months of the year. And then everyone's like, oh, let's think about 2024. So I think you just get March and April and like some of February and some of May. But we're already done now. Now we're in 24. That's we're 24 now. Yeah, we're 24. I just OK. 24. I blame planning for 24 and beyond. I blame the power of Dan Reichert and Jeff Grubbs influence. But I started watching 24. Yeah. Where are you at? A lot of characters doing dumb stuff. Yes, they are because it's 24. I decided to go full chaos mode in 24 and just jump in and season three in the middle of the season. That rules. That is incredible because I already know I already know like the basics, right? I know that the show takes like an hour of a time within the span of 24 hours. Jack, you need to know he's a pretty he's a cool dude or he he becomes not a cool dude. OK, he's a psychopath and that's pretty cool. OK, the he literally is like the president's best friend, too, for a while. And like the president's like, Jack, you, you got to come over here and do something for me. That's pretty good. OK. I was just going for a generic of 24 president. But I forget who the fuck is the goddamn president in that show. Jack, I need you to come over. And he's like, look, this is off the record. Like, it's always it's always like he's got his own little best friend hit man who does international like espionage and malfeasance. And it's just like, of course, good word. Yeah. He's like, of course, I'll have to just like not recognize you at all and let you get addicted to heroin at some point. But he'll wean himself off within a day, I bet. I mean, he's a special agent. Also, motherfucker never like talks normal. He's always whispering. And that bothered me. It bothered me from that's just Kiefer. Have you played Metal Gear Solid 5? I know if you've heard one of the elusive ten lines of dialogue he has in that game, you'll know that he's always whispering. That's so dress and chat is right. When when Jack Bauer was like literally shaking because of his withdrawal from heroin, not an episode later, which is an hour, not an episode later, motherfuckers just like I beat the crank. I'm fine now. He's like shooting a gun perfectly. Motherfucker was like literally in an alley with a needle in his arm taking over, dude. That's right. The fuck. It's like how a wrestler was like made it sound like it was supposed to be bad. And to me, it just sounded more awesome like that. It sounds incredible. I definitely want to show where it's like kicking heroin takes about a half hour. Here we go. That's right. Discount the addiction intensity of that drug in such a responsible way. But it's his addiction to serving his country. That's what he's just like. I'm addicted to the constitution, motherfucker, which he doesn't follow at all because it's all bullshit. He's giving me an uncut American flag in my veins. Let's go tap, tap the red, white and blue right into my shit. This is a 24 website now. We apologize. Anyway, anyway. See, it's only a matter of time now until I convince everyone to get really into Becker. And we're almost there. We're almost there. Seems like the same play on the precipice. I'm like, all you got to do is nudge me, Jan. And I will fall into Becker hard if I find all of I'm going to go to my local Goodwill and I bet you I will find a full complete run of Becker in a bit somewhere. DVD for sure. DVD. I'll rip it. I'll throw it on the website. That's right. I'll put it on the website, not even on a Plex. I'm sure that's fine, right? Yeah. Was this was this in like the BC, AD of Ted Hansen, white hair? Was this BC or AD? This is what he was kind of going white in Becker, right? No, he's like this is dark white. This is pretty white. OK, this is BC. Is that who Beyonce was talking about, Becker with the good hair? Yeah. Yeah. Yeah, of course. OK, that's Ted Danson's hair is like some magician prestige bullshit. Do you think it's real? Do you think it's real? No fucking way, dude. Half of Hollywood, all 60 percent of Hollywood has amazing hair jobs for sure. Hair jobs, man. Lovely. Get those hair jobs in while you can before it's illegal. Yeah, I just I just want to shave it all off at this point. I just I just want to do a full buzz. Well, I just shut up. Who's about to who's about to Mike Manati and let him go grab some beard clippers and take you into a garage? No, we can make it happen. I will be seeing Mike Manati soon and I just don't want that threat looming over me. Yeah. Listen. Yes. You got a head of hair like you got. All right. Listen, when you got a head of hair, like the one is on that's on top of your head, yes, don't go don't go around being like, I'm going to shave it all for no reason whatsoever. Other than like that, look, you want to be you want to be OK. You know, you look great. You look great. Hair, no hair, it's your choice from cutie or death cab for cutie. Yeah, you're your best Gerard way doing it the best Gerard way you can. Please keep your hair. It's amazing. OK, we'll see. We'll see. We'll see. Gentlemen, before we talk about video games and we are still kind of in the weird in between phase where a giant massive game came out and like

"May 23rd 2023. I'm one of your host Greg Miller alongside Forbes 30 under 30 aka the okay beast aka G Q quoted at busting Eddie Jr. I don't think they quoted me. I know. Yeah, I just contributed. I guess your GQ contributor contributor. Yeah, that's even better. That's even better. How's your morning going? It's excellent. How's yours? I I'll be honest. I got to the office this morning and my heart dropped because I realized that I left my switch at home and I can't play Zelda during work. But you are reviewing other things. You've already reviewed Zelda and you I know you're working on other reviews. Well, you talked about it yesterday that you're also reviewing things and the only thing you can think about is going back and playing more Zelda. That's and I'm in a similar place where I'm playing other things. We have to resist. We have to resist. I'm doing a bad job of resisting. What I did yesterday is I played the review game all day during work hours and then at night I played Zelda. That's my off time. You know what I mean? When did you hang out with your family? When did you hang out with your family and friends? You know, Jen was next to me playing Zelda. There you go. That's fair. I'll work that out. Ben, we just cut open a bag of dog food, dumped it on the ground and said have at it. That's for the dog. He's eating spaghetti. Blessing. Greg, first off, it's good to be back on camera with you. Yeah, it's my also my next. I think my first on camera opportunity to tell you how good you look. Thank you. I got to tell you all the time. You're looking good. You got the haircut since I was last on a show with you. I've seen it obviously in person or whatever, but then the shirt too. You got the cut. You know what I mean? I was just working out. Oh man, I wish I was more about it though, because I went what? Last week, Monday woke up, went to the gym the next day, did ring fit. And the next day after that, I was so sore. I was so sore. And I was like, you know what? Let me take a little break. Let me take it easy. Have I been back to the gym since? Who knows? You know, it's neither here nor there. I've been set my alarm to six. I just wake up and I turn that thing off and I go back to bed. Yeah, that's fair enough. It's fair enough. I'm doing of we course are on the eve of PlayStation showcase. Tomorrow is the day blessing. Of course we'll be live reacting to a twitch .tv slash kind of funny games, youtube .com slash kind of funny games live at 10 a .m. all the way through the PS. I love you. XOXO post show. That will be recorded live for everybody later on podcast services. So come watch the showcase with us. But Daryl writes in with all of us getting ready to go to bed with dreams of knack in our dreams and says happy showcase eve everyone. What would the worst plausible announcement you could think of be for tomorrow? Hmm. It's funny because you just mentioned neck and my, my mind immediately goes to knack three. We're on three, right? Or there's the next one would be three. Yes. Yeah. My mind immediately goes to knack three. I feel like that would be the most not left turn, but like I could see it happening. I could see the timeline where knack three gets announced tomorrow and all of us are just confused. Like how, how did we get here? Why is this happening? Sure. Where is astrobot? Yeah. Yeah. That makes sense. Oh Jesus in the chat goes, why are we starting with the negative LMAO? Oh, and Jesus, we could not, we already treating the showcase as if PlayStation won the homecoming game. I don't know if you watched any other coverage around here. The PS, I love you predictions, us building our own showcase. We basically had the mission accomplished balloon drop when they announced it. The positivity is out there. Don't worry. That's why it's a fun question from what I was about to ask you about. Like, is your excitement only growing for places to showcase now that we're a day away? And that's because like, you know, what's the worst plausible announcement you can think of? And again, plausible announcement, right? Knack three and knuckles. You know, it's like, what's the worst? I don't know. They do some mobile bullshit like the, you know, like a book style thing. You know what I mean? Like I have their mobile game division that they're still spinning up and I could be cool. I'm not saying just, you know, across the board. I hate. Yes. Sure. All right. Could it? Will it? What's a cool version of what, what that looks like? I think the only thing we have that we want would be the Marvel snap version of what PlayStation does. I'm still interested in the division mobile. I mean, I know, I know. And I'm saying, I know what I mean, like, I'm not saying I'm down. Is this PlayStation even have an IP that they could make a division mobile out of? That would be cool. I don't know, dude. Resistance last mobile thing we got was the weird digital collection thing that you get from playing games or whatever. See, I don't even want to want to start. I don't want to insult PlayStation stars and mobile in the same breath. All right. Again, PlayStation, that's just a mobile app. I remember how they had a sack boy game was a sack. Yeah. Sack boy can come out like I ever get my months ago. Yeah. Yeah. And we talked about that. I don't think even for a full day, maybe for 30 seconds on the show, play that game. Like, no, it was like, all right, bye. You know what I mean? That was the end of that. That but that is plausible. I could see them coming on. Hey, we have you guys wanted Uncharted back. We got it back on mobile. It is Temple Run. I didn't know they had the BD. The BD one collectibles that now PlayStation stars just got a survivor during it. How many hours you just boot it up? Yeah, then I should already have it. Right. Is that how I work? No, because it doesn't backtrack. So if they added it since we started playing it, no, no, no, no, no, messed up. No, this one just hurts because here's one. You can get a pot pie. It looks like and it's last one standing battle around the best or luckiest survive. Jump into any of these six battle royale games. First one's rumble verse. Should I tell you to tell them? Should I tell them who tells them? What are we doing here? The next one is going to be Knockout City. I don't know why it's a pot pie. That's warm blanket. Check soft lighting. Check hot drink. Check. It's a cozy game time. It's cozy game time. "Daily for Monday, May 22nd, 20 23, I'm one of your hosts Greg Miller alongside Forbes 30 under 30. AKA the second best baby blues in San Francisco. AKA the verified one. AKA the new York times quoted at Tim gettys. Let Tim host, how was your weekend, Greg? It was fantastic. Yeah, me too. The neighbors put in a pool. So we got invited over for the first bar. We flew over there, a little splash splash, Benny had a ball. Got you off his impressive swim moves. Love that. This kid's been going to swim glasses. He's like month three. I don't understand swimming these days, but he's out there and he's kicking, he's doing his thing having a great time. Yeah. I went to the beach yesterday for a picnic. I was cold, that was a cool. Typical SF, you know what I mean? So it was just like, yeah. It was a chilly one, but Ben had fun. Cole had fun, running around being a dog. There was something in the morning nap window that was also big, but I'm already forgetting it, because it was involved. Why was your weekend so good? Oh, I mean, there's one reason. Zelda baby. You kidding me? Here's what I want you to know about Zelda. I've moved on to other games for redacted reviews. And I sat down at one point to play the other game and something was happening into one of work. And I was like, you know what? Nobody does our planes all the you know what I mean? Usually Jen's like, hey, can you hang on bed? I'm gonna read. I'm gonna play two tears of the kingdom, do you want to come next to me? Usually I'd be like, oh, no, I gotta go downstairs and work on our review. I'm like, you know what? Yeah, I'll come up, I'll do some tears to keep it a little bit. You know, I'm just gonna go north. See what happens, you know what I mean? I'm still there doing that. It's a problem to the point that shout out to the one the only IGN dot com where I started to listen to their NBC spin off 6 episode series they're doing here all about tears the kingdom. I was listening to that on the way in today hearing about side quests from cat Bailey Brian altano and the gang. Fun times. Oh yeah, a lot of side quests great. It's weird because often on different podcasts, we do the thought experiments of if you could go back in time and experience a video game for the very first time that you love. Like what are those games that you would go back to? I just wish I could completely erase my memory of this experience again. It's weird to be experiencing one of those games. For the first time. And I know what you're living in. If that is the incredible thing about it, one of the things that's so special. Yeah, the more I play, the more I'm just like, wow, there's so much here that just feels special. Like there's very few words special magic they keep coming up because just the sense of wonder that I get across every field around every corner. It's just, it is so massive and yet still feels manageable. And in every moment, I'm kind of being rewarded in that way. Ah, man, this one's gonna be, it's gonna be a tough one to dethrone, Greg. It will be a tough one to throw in and we're gonna talk about that today because of course, Final Fantasy 16 previews are in their glowing. Tim's played it, but can it beat tears of the kingdom for a game of the year? Ubisoft Star Wars game might be coming sooner than you think in so much more because this is kind of funny games daily. Each and every weekday on a variety of platforms, we run you through the nerdy video game news, you know about. If you like that, be

And then just today the day they record this Thursday of this week. We've gotten the confirmation finally of Mortal Kombat one, the reboot coming just a few months away. So it's very cool. Giveaway for NBA jam, going right after it. Yeah. Wow, I don't get the reference. What's going on with that? Well, because NBA jam came out in arcades about the same time as combat. Okay. I'm on board with that too. But first, we are now we're one week into tears of the kingdom. Last week, Sam was the only one who had played it, so we had to rely on his opinions to get us through, but I assume we're all playing it out. Where to begin. So first of all, I love it. My fear all along was that it would feel too similar because it was using the same mat and my fears were. Have they been completely assuaged? There's no what a good feeling. No issue there whatsoever. I've been playing it every night since it came out for several hours and I feel like I've barely done anything. Yep. So I did the whole sky island, and then when I went down, tyro, I've just been doing stuff around hyrule castle, all the shrines around there. All the caves I can do, just sort of right around the area of hyrule castle. Because if I go too far, I end up find an enemy that just kills me with one hit. So I'm trying to up my heart. There's so much more game for you to find. I know. That's what I've been doing. Go ahead. Well, I was going to say it is really a good idea to get your hearts out. It's really we're trying to all figure out where to get hearty things right now and the things that get your heart yellow because you could really grind those in the previous games. And this one you really can't. So armor, getting your heart, those are like really important early things that I think everybody's trying to figure out how to do right now. And we're trying to write guides about that. It's really interesting. But what I can tell you is those enemies that are one hitting you, you might be able to hit them because if you fuse great stuff they drop to your swords and your weapons. You can get your attack up really early and really fun ways. Yeah, the game, I mean, the game is just so big and they're so much you can do. I know, I know I'm not like playing it like to the best of my ability. You know, most of my encounters, I still just try to hit the enemy with weapon I have. And that's not a criticism of the game. That's a me problem. There's just so much. Like the game in those first two or three hours, it throws so much of it at you. And then sort of turns you loose in the world. And there's just a lot to sort of juggle in your mind. So I have to remind myself, oh, the reason I was having a hard time with this shine is because I forgot about the ascend ability. Can we talk about the new area freely now, you think? Wait, wait. What's new are you? You know, the D word. The dungeons? No. No. There's a Josiah. You met her at the launch town that's in the center of hyrule, and she's investigating some holes that are scattered around hyrule. Have you jumped into one of those things? Oh my gosh, you gotta jump. Damn it. You have it? Is that really true? Yeah, that's why I was wondering, yeah. Oh, you got it. Okay, I just told you I've been doing stuff around hyrule castle. You gotta have them been avoiding it. This poke your head in. Okay. Keep your head in and see what's going on. Okay. There is actually some, I think this is one of the things that kind of popped up online and I think even in our IGM like slack channels, there is a Pura pad ability that you don't have to get. Like you can completely play the game without ever having yet obtained it. But there's a really good one if you just pursue the quest and the whole. So highly recommended for anyone out there. I will prioritize that tonight. Man, I don't even know what to talk about. So that's the only thing there is to talk about with this game. Yes. I do know what you mean about like I've also been playing the game every night and also a little bit before work each morning. And like you said, it just feels endless. It goes on forever. There is. And so I love it. It's my game of the year overwhelmingly. I actually like it a lot more than breath of the wild. It's probably my game of the generation, but I did have one particular sort of like, I have about 45 minutes before work. That's when I get to play Zelda. And I spent, I spent that 45 minutes, I climbed up most of a mountain and they got knocked off and died. And then I failed to shrine like two times. That was my, that was my morning, and I'm like, well, okay. Don't feel super great about this, but every single other time I play the game, it's just been absolutely incredible. Yeah. You're lucky you just got knocked off a mountain when you get knocked off an island right before you're about to finish something that's really hairy. Link's rag doll is so rude too. Just like that. He's already dead. The one thing that's always disarming for me is like, you know, Lincoln use the ultra hand diffuse things to his shields and his weapons and all that jazz. But the enemies can too. So for the first time, I was on a sky island and I encountered an enemy who had, I think it was like a stick with one of the zone I fans on it. He hit me with it, and then he just whipped me off of the sky island. I was like, oh my God. How am I going to get back up here? It has so many fun aha moments of adventure that feel wonderful. And has like a dude who knows the breath of the wild breath of the wild hyrule, like the back of my hand, I was also very nervous that I was like, do I already know this map? Do I know things? But whereas breath of the wild had a lot of emptiness between a lot of the landmarks and things to do and see. Tears of the kingdom really feels like hyrule is rebuilding after breath of the wild and it really feels like it's just so much more densely packed with not only people but things to do things to see. Like my favorite moment that I encountered in the game thus far is in the tutorial area when the game reveals to you the discovery that's like that shows up on screen whenever you walk into a cave and I was like, oh no. This game is gonna be a problem now because the fact that it rewards you now for discovering things. I'm like, this is wonderful. I did make a really, really long bridge that I fused together because south, east of hyrule castle, there's a river that's flowing very rapidly. So I couldn't film across.

A highlight from No Day 1 PS5 Exclusives for PC Gamers - Kinda Funny Games Daily 05.19.23
"What's up, everybody? Welcome to kinda funny games daily for Friday. May 19th, 2023. I'm one of your host Greg Miller alongside Forbes 30 under 30 AKA the second best baby blues in San Francisco. AKA The New York Times quoted at Tim gettys. Let Tim host, it's a pajama day, Greg. It is a pajama. You already in them. Yes, we're here. Kevin pulled in. I pulled in, I should say to the office, Kevin was in the parking lot in his. I packed my pajama pants. That's what I did. I just came in with them. I appreciate that. The thing is we're doing a big sleepover pajama vibe party situation to all their streams. Stream to celebrate Kevin Cuomo and snow bike Mike's birthdays. And so Nick was like, hey, 23, going on 24, fellas will fall in line. So I was like, okay, cool, we have to wear our pajamas and everything. I was excited about that. And this is, you know, shout out to filthy casual. They make dope stuff. Chocolate casual indeed. But this is very, very comfy sweater. So I was like, cool, I'm going to I'm going to bring that. You know what I'm talking about? Kind of fluff on the inside. Do you see that? Do you see that? No. I reached with what would be a normal hand. Oh no, Greg. Cut the top of my thumb off last night. No, you need that. Most of your body. That is fine. I was able to review the redacting game on last night. I was playing that. When Jen said come to bed and play Zelda, I went to bed and played Zelda. I'm okay. Okay. It's the tippity tip. Do you remember when I cut my top my finger off with the handling? Very similar situation, but that's not a knife. That's not good. That is not good. No, it's okay. You know what it's good, great. What's that? My slippers. I appreciate that you wore these giant slippers that I noticed and I said I was wearing giant slippers reminiscent of my old Bugs Bunny ones as a child. But it was roger, who saw it and went, are those? Air Jordan slippers? Yeah, they are. The Jordan force, bread force. The people still call them air Jordans and they call them Jordans. You can. I sounded old though when I said air Jordans in them. Yeah, yeah, but it's so cool. You also sound refined. I think I'm pumping right now. You sound refined. I like that. You know what I mean? Now speaking of refining ladies and gentlemen, it's kind of funny games daily with the news in a second. I always love a good show and tell. Yes. I was in a frantic state trying to get games daily off the ground because we are morning meeting today as well. I'm running a bit late. You came over and showed me something that you've now brought to set. I got to touch it for two seconds ago. That's great. Now I want to know what am I looking at here on your Nintendo Switch. So I've been talking about this for a while, but on this journey, the spiritual quest to figure out what are the actual best joy cons. Yeah, for how for the things I care about. And it's been one of the things you care about. I care about premium feel. Sure. I care about not mushy buttons. I like a nice clicky D pad. Sure. All right. And rumble. Rumbles a big thing. Oh. Do you think what the fuck has got? A lot of the other ones do not have rumble. Okay. I've been experimenting with maybe ten different sets of joy cons. Found some HORI split pad pro compact is a nice one. I'm a fan of those, but it's mushy, no rumble. But it has a really nice form factor. It's not much bigger than normal joy con. But if you want full on pro controller sized, like you can hold it here. It's got what I like already, it's got the premium feel. We talk a lot about for an audio listener. We're holding one. He passes me, you almost think it's a steam deck. You know what I mean? Because it's got that background. It's got the backpack. Yeah, yeah, yeah. So it's better. It's not on. It's not on. Well, first off, all right, come on now. Don't leave me trying to defend a steam deck right now. All right, I don't want to be in that camp, you know what I mean? I love my steam deck to death, you know that. Yeah, I love the feel of it. I love the home button. I love the little capture button over here. But then the back paddles are very nice. Yeah. Yeah, so what's cool about this one? This is the NY XI, which nixie. The hyperion control. They're calling this one. So far, it's been my favorite. It is still not perfect. It feels more premium and less mushy than a lot of the other third party controllers. Still not as premium as I thought it doesn't feel first party. I wish it was like a little higher end there. But the D pad is fantastic. There's a bunch of LED lights on it that I turned off, but you can turn it to whatever color you want. You want to go one of those gamers. But my thing is, there was another similar one that I was talking about a couple months ago from bin Bach. Very similar form factor.

A highlight from Zelda Hands-On + PlayStation Showcase Predictions - Ep. 327
"Coming up on today's show, PlayStation has finally announced another showcase, Zelda has sold a bajillion copies and Jennifer Hale is back on the show. What's good, everybody and welcome to another episode of the what's good games podcast, your source for video game news, commentary, analysis, and of course the funny stuff every Friday. I am one of your hosts join my name. That would be helpful. Andrew R knight, that's my name, everybody. Joined by Brittany brombacher who just took a swig, which is why I said her name. I was all Fleming from all the laughter, so I had to swallow a loopy. Hi. Hello, and we are also joined by misses Rihanna Manuel Pena, who's got some very exciting news. I do. So in case you missed it on every social media platform that my husband Danny and I have access to. We have just announced to the world we are expecting little baby manual pain yeah. I'm so happy and excited for you guys. You're gonna be wonderful, fantastic parents, and I love that we have a new gamer baby in the mix. Oh yeah. There's like a small list of people that I want to reproduce. Just because, you know, most people are bad, but you and Danny like together are very, very high. Like top, top, top, top, top. Like you two need to procreate and make more babies because the world needs more awesome people. I'm more excited. It's probably than you are. The irony of this announcement for people who probably have no idea is that we obviously just did are what's good games 6 year anniversary. We actually had to cut out a clip that was in our best of the funny stuff that alluded to them being pregnant because we're like, well, somebody might infer that we're announcing this and we don't want to announce it before you guys are ready to announce it. And then on top of that, we also fed you shots. Yes. So just so everyone knows and I got real good at faking alcohol during our pandemic pregnancies. So nothing ran a drink during this dream was real. It was all fake. We baked it all. Go ahead. Go back and watch the tapes and see if you saw anything being put and she didn't. And then I definitely didn't notice and I'm a little bit worried about my perception. If you must took water for patron, there's probably bigger problems at play. But no, we're so happy for you. Congratulations to both you and Danny and of course, you know, we're probably talking about all the baby stuff in the future. Oh yes. It's very exciting. Thank you both. I appreciate it. Absolutely. And we want to thank also this month's Patreon producers. Chewie's got some faris attila Justin Fauci and punk. And if you guys want to help support what's good games, you could do so at Patreon dot com slash what's good games. It is where you can get the show ad free or where you can get an elite patron shout out. I saw that we had some people modifying their pledges after the anniversary strain. So thank you to everybody who is supporting us on Patreon. We love you guys. And of course, we always remind you, we know that not everybody can't throw dollars our way or pounds or yen or whatever. The local currency of choice is and what we would ask then is maybe you can just throw us a few minutes of your time. By leaving us a wonderful 5 star review, right, Britt? Yeah, so shout out to J 5 6 6 who left us a lovely review so kind of appreciated. And you know, it happened. We got a one star review ladies because we are, quote, two woke. And yes, this idiot spelled two wrong. They spelled it TO, so I think that says everything we need to know about them as a person. So if you're listening out there, if you could just counter the stupid review that this stupid person left, we would all greatly appreciate it because believe it or not, those ones are reviews add up and overall it impacts your ratings in your algorithm and it makes us sad. So that's okay though there's not that many people out there like that listen to our show and you're like that we don't want you to listen to our show anyway, but you know, I know we overpower the idiots. You know what I mean? I know there's enough of us out there. So absolutely. And we've mentioned before that we have a goal of getting our star rating up to help combat these, but they still keep coming in, y'all, people thinking that apparently we were talking about video games, but it was too woke for them. And they gave us a one to start review. Help us out. Leave us a 5 star if you haven't yet. So we appreciate everyone who has already taken the time. It means a ton to us and helps the podcast out so much probably much more than you know. So thank you. Today's show is also brought to you by better help, but I'll tell you more about that later. Now Brittany. Let's get into the Zelda power hour. Just the Zelda news that we're all expecting. Yay, yeah. So surprising absolutely no one. The Legend of Zelda tears of the kingdom sells ten million copies in three days, a stunning record in this comes from Forbes. And I like this write up because I think it was Paul tassie who wrote this. He included some other really big blockbuster titles and it really kind of puts into perspective just how wild this number is. So we knew the numbers would be big, but Nintendo has just announced that The Legend of Zelda tears of the kingdom has sold over 10 million copies in just its first three days of release. It remarks that it's the fastest selling game in Zelda history, but it's much more than that and needs some context. So for example, Cyberpunk 2077 sold 13.7 million copies in 21 days, Hogwarts legacy sold 12 million copies in 14 days, Call of Duty Modern Warfare two sold 1 billion worth of copies in 14 days and they had some parentheses 10 million copies at $70 would be 700 million for Zelda and Grand Theft Auto V sold 800 million worth of copies on its first day and $1 billion in three days the all time record, an Andrew put a little note in here. I did 'cause I was reading this and thank you so much for pulling this. I was like, listen, normally, I like potassium a lot. I think he does some great work over there at Forbes. If you guys aren't clicking on their articles, I highly recommend you do also maybe do I follow Paul mostly for his destiny talks? Yes. But I was like, that Call of Duty number doesn't sound accurate to me because I remember vividly reporting on the Call of Duty record breaking last fall because I've reported on Call of Duty for literally a decade of my career. And it was really noteworthy and so I looked up the press release and it was 800 million in three days, which essentially Zelda hypothetically matched. I mean, give or take, you know, a little wiggle room, but the fact of course that Zelda, as you noted, single platform called duty multi platform and also arguably the most successful video game franchise in history when it comes to splashy blockbuster numbers is very, very impressive. Yeah. It's that thing of we don't get Zelda games very often. I think we all know, but you just kind of forget just how powerful this IP is. I think we think of things like Mario, if Mario were to do the numbers like this. We'd be like, oh yeah, of course it did. But you know, Zelda just doesn't have that mainstream IP popularity in terms of merchandise and movies and blah, blah, blah, you know, spin offs. It's just kind of to quote Dragon Ball Z very mind boggling, and Paul does make a note here, it says the only thing that is actually comparable is Pokémon scarlet and violet, which did in fact sell 10 million copies in three days, but that was on two separate SKUs. So some people buy scarlet and violet even though they're essentially the same game, but there are some differences in terms of legendaries and but yeah, wowzers. It's really amazing what they're able to do and ridiculous number of install base aside, attachment rate for Nintendo consoles aside all of that aside. I think ash Parrish on Twitter just commented earlier today, not a battle pass in sight. It's all single player. There's no gotcha gimmicks. There's no pay for cosmetic upgrades. This is just a single player game and it's really fucking good. And it can be successful. There's a lot of hesitancy and doubt in the industry and amongst decision makers and we're clearly seeing that with studios like turtle rock who are now revamping what they're doing with Suicide Squad to remove or edit some of those elements that fans reacted to poorly because we just want good games. It doesn't necessarily have to have all of these gimmicks to make money long term. If it's good we'll buy it, we'll play it. We'll buy it again. And it's really great to see a success story in Nintendo, of course, doing its thing, just ignoring all of the noise and trudging forward marching to the beat of their own drum and we love it.

Kinda Funny Games Daily
A highlight from Mortal Kombat 1 Trailer Reaction - Kinda Funny Games Daily 05.18.23
"Up? Welcome to kind of funnier games daily for Thursday, may 18th, 2023. I'm one of your host blessing adelie a junior joining me is la Croix poppy himself, AKA my fellow Forbes 30 under 30, AKA Tim mullin, gettys. What was that? That was me throwing hands because it's fighting game season everybody. That was the worst thing I've ever seen in my life. I had to debate, do I throw my left hand with my right hand or do I throw in my right hand with my left hand? And either way, it wouldn't have been good, but that was probably the worst version. I thought you were going for a swing because I was like, oh, yeah, after this, they're doing the stream. They're swinging a miss. Playing golf, but I was like, that was more of a baseball swing. And then when you finished it, yeah, your arm, your hand kind of flailed there. Yeah. And I was like, I just don't know what this is anymore. You can't throw your arm too far. You know what I mean? Your hand too far, whatever. Let's move on. Let's move on. Tim. How are you doing this morning? I'm doing okay. I'm doing okay. As you guys know, a couple weeks ago, I got pulled over by the popo. For the first time in a decade plus. All right. Wasn't happy about it. Some dumb bullshit don't need to get into it. I was going 40 miles over the over the MPH. Today, couples up behind me on a motorcycle. And I'm like, hey, what are we fucking going? And the thing is, I knew that because I'm still waiting for the sticker. I could be in trouble. You know what I mean? But the guy gave me a little note that he's like, if you get pulled over again, just show him the note and then you're gonna be totally fine. So I was like, oh, this is just inconvenient. I got places to go. People to see. They were just expired. Or you're car thing was expensive. It doesn't matter. Yeah, yeah. My chick I lost in the mail. My sticker. I paid for it. So I didn't get the sticker. That's fair enough. That was my problem. So here riding dirty, I get it. A 100%. So this guy pulls up behind me. Turns on the little siren things. But not the noise, just the lights, all right? Here we go. So I pull over. And he pulls up onto the road because he's on the motorcycle. And I'm just like sitting there waiting and he doesn't come up to me. And I'm pulled over, dubbed the blinkers on and just like, I'm trying to look back at him and he's just chilling. He didn't pull me over at all. This is the equivalent of somebody waving hi to you, and then you wave back to you guys. They're waving to the guy behind you. Yeah. But there's a protocol here. You go behind somebody? And I was the only person there. Are you turning those things on? I'm pulling over. That's on him. No, that's not on you. I was sitting there for like, I don't know, 30 seconds. And there was a weird moment where I was like, do I just go? But I'm like, even though I'm pretty sure I could just go. I'm not gonna just go. Tim, do you do the thing where when you see a cop in your vicinity, you start driving extra safe? Oh, yeah. I started hitting the full stops at the stop signs, but I would never do that on my own. I started making sure I'm going at the speed limit. A 100%. I drive like this. That happened to me yesterday where I saw a cop behind me. I started driving like a saint. I had the ten and two, my hands were on the tenon too. Again, I was hitting the full stops. And I was being a good citizen out there. But you're a pretty safe driver even without thank you, I appreciate it. You know? That's because you've been driving with Kevin Cuomo, who is in the top 5 most chaotic drivers I've ever driven with. That's true. It's a good word. It's a good word. Yeah. But the story ends with me sitting there, long enough to have the moment of like, do I drive away, or do I get started? It turns into a car chase. Now you're fucking arrested for resisting arrest. It ends with him getting out of his car. Angrily walking over. Look at me, tell her to roll down the window. I roll it down and he just goes, hey, you can go. I'm not waiting for you. And I was just like, okay, thank you and just left. That's really fun. So angry. That really I did what I thought was supposed to do. That on him. He just wanted to exert his power. Man. My date's been going decently to me. Yeah. There's a new Mortal Kombat trailer out there. I'm excited to watch that here with you today. Yesterday, I went, I went online, I scheduled an appointment for a haircut. I was very excited about because I'm going to LA this week. I'm doing a shoot and so I'm like, I want to look good for that shoot and also summer game fast, a bunch of things are happening. Let me look good. Let me spruce up my looks. I go online, I schedule the haircut. I then get a call from my barber. Yesterday morning. And he was like, hey man, I just burnt my hand. And I'm like, oh man, that sucks. Oh no. Yeah, I'm like, what does that mean for me? And he's like, yeah, we got to reschedule a haircut. And I'm like, okay, that's fine, but hey, is there a way we can get it done before Thursday evening? Because I got to fly out Thursday, and I'm hoping to get it done before then. He's like, oh, you know what? In that case, I'm gonna just link you with my guy rob. Come through, rob is he cuts here next to me. Just show up to rob and we'll get it done for you. And I'm like, all right, cool. And I'm a bit apprehensive because my barber knows me. Me and me and my barber were like this, you know? Like, he understands my needs. I understand, I understand his needs, I guess. So his needs money. I pay him. But so I get there yesterday evening after work. And rob is the oldest man I've ever seen in my life. Hell yeah. The oldest man. And I can tell that the barbershop is organized in a pretty good way, where they got people serving different demographics. Rob is definitely the person that is cutting the older people's hair. That is walking to the barber. He was the only one that was available that day for me to be able to come through and get my hair cut. And I'm like, all right, I'm already here. I guess I'm going to sit down. I'm going to let I'm going to have rob cut my hair. If my barber trusts you rob, I trust you. And so I sit down in that seat. I tell them what I want. I even show them a picture. I'll show them a picture of king's disease, too, by not. So I'm like, give me this. This is what I want. This. Yeah, give me this album cover. That's what I want to look like. And when I tell you this man cut my hair way shorter than I wanted. And I was such in a bad mood after my haircut last night. Yeah, I was telling you yesterday I was telling you, you look desktop, your first and at the end of your haircut. Yeah. I think this one's going to grow into where you want to be. And when you get that middle part, good? You're maximizing your good hair days. I hope so, man. I'm making the best of it. Oh, man. Oh, man. And honestly, I'm probably making a too big of a deal of it. Thank you. Yeah, you

"Junior joining me is WWE superstar, AKA host of PS I love you xoxo, AKA Greg Miller. Morning grey how's it going? Oh, it's been a morning, sir. You know? Had a demo to do, right? For a video game that I can't talk about. And I was like, no big deal. Mom's visiting, you know what I mean? We'll get out of there right at 8 o'clock. Nanny gets their 8 o'clock. We'll get in the car. It's a 9 o'clock demo. Get here, have just enough time. I'm like, if something goes wrong, I've done it before where I can start it on, I can start Discord on the phone, not watch while I'm driving, obviously, have it off to the side, you know what I mean, where they go through the, hey, here's what the embargo is. Here's this whole thing, yada, yada, yada. I'm like, no problem. Of course I get out of the house like 20 minutes, late, 15 minutes late. It's going to happen. You know what I mean? You got a little Benny in there. You got all this stuff going on. Whatever. Mom and I barely out of the neighborhood. Stopped at a red light. Smacked in the back. No. Yeah, rear ended by a very nice lady with her dog. Rear ended by a very nicely, but as soon as it happens and we go before she's like, what the fuck? And I'm like, I didn't even say, well, we're not making this demo. We're not making, we're not making this demo for this on a landscape. No, it's fine. It was unfortunate. It's annoying, right? But you pull off, you get there. She was very nice. Damages next to minimal, you know what I mean? And my shoulder blades a bit sore. Mom's elbow is a bit sore. We both pop the anvil as soon as we got here. Okay. Take that core. You can see the pants off this lady. Well, I don't think I don't think you need to do that part of it. You know what I mean? If you're sore. She's already acceptable. She's accepted it. I should just be, I mean, I should probably be out of bed rest just plain Zelda. That's honestly what she probably. That's what this is about. This is about getting pretty dangerous. Is the car okay? Is the back of the car fine? I mean, the bumper is like, you know. If I walked you over and I was like, look at this, you'd be like, oh yeah, but it's like, I got rear ended when we got that car in 2020, like, a week and a half after we got it. And that guy, you could read his license plate in my bumper. This one is like, I'd have to point it out to you that this is that in the other's done, so it's whatever. But it was like, all right, cool, then I rushed in here and then I got the thing going, and then it's a big day of content for me, there's a whole bunch of stuff happening. So this has been, it's been a lot, but I'm excited to be here with you. Oh yeah, I'm excited to have you here with me, of course. It's a pretty chill news day, not much to talk about. For me in terms of my morning and how I've been, how I've been doing. I've been sore. I've started going to the gym. Roger corny has convinced me to start going with him. And I'm all about it because it's a busy summer. Like there's multiple weddings, I'm going to. And I've been wanting to feel better about my physical physique. You know, I've been wanting to feel better about how I look now I feel and so I've been trying to make it a thing that at least workout consistently. If I'm not going to the gym every morning, then at the very least do ring fit adventure or something along those lines. But something that I wasn't anticipating that I should have anticipated is I am sore as hell because I work hard. That first day, that second day I did ring fit and I did that for a good hour in the morning and by the time I was going to bed last night, I was like, I'm gonna take it easy tomorrow. Okay. Sure. I'm on the verge of breaking my body if I keep going this hard. And so I gotta figure out what that looks like for me. I was talking to the mic the other day about hiring a personal trainer for a day to just map out what a day of. So basically that looks like you hit up one of these personal trainers that does the whole hey, your first visit is like a consultation and then you're just like you're wearing glasses with the camcorders built in and you're just like you know I know it's not for me and then you listen to that workout every day. 1000%. But yeah, I'm sorry because of that but also I went to bed late last night because last night I went to see Brett Goldstein do stand up live. Where is that invite last? Where is that invite bro? You know, sometimes I send things out into the Internet and they just get lost. I knew about it. I knew about the fairness. You know about it. Wow, Greg knew about it. Greg who never goes out 'cause I forget where I talked about it. Have I mentioned this before that I was going to the stand up thing? Yeah, I think I mentioned it very passively. It was one of those ones where some of my friends hit me up weeks and weeks ago in a group chat and they're like, hey, this is happening. And I was like, all right, let's do it, and I forgot about it. I forgot about it for a while until what last week when I was like, oh yeah, gold scenes coming through. And for those who don't know, Brett Goldstein is the dude who plays Roy Kent in Ted Lasso. And so he's listening to the intimidating looking dude with this deep gruff voice who's also very British. And he's like, that's exactly how it sounds like, yeah, that's exactly it. Don't they hate it when the queen comes over for tea? That's such a. It's a great impression of a thank you. Thank you. But yeah, it was really fun. You could definitely tell that he was working out some of his routine. I think he mentioned that this was his first big stop on his comedy tour. And so you can kind of see him be a little bit rusty and like trying to figure out which jokes hit in which jokes don't. But overall, it's still a really great time. And in the last 30 minutes, he was just answering audience questions and that was really cool because I was going there honestly more for him as an actor, right? Him as Roy can't then for him as a comedian. But it's cool to see him try to stretch that muscle work that out and then also cater to the people that are there as fans and want to answer questions and hang out and stuff. So yeah, it's been a pretty busy last couple of days. And Greg, again, it's a slow news day. We don't have anything to talk about. Yeah, right. So let's talk about today's news story, which include PlayStation showcases finally happening. Zelda sells 10 million units and

ACG - The Best Gaming Podcast
A highlight from The Best Gaming Podcast #394 Whats do we want to see with Microsoft and Starfield, Zelda Thoughts, Inkborne discussion, Sony MS and Nintendo Offerings
"Sup everybody, this is Carrick with ACG and I'm here with Johnny and just Johnny for the best gaming podcast. We're going to cover some games that we both played for a company who gave me preview code and they gave me extra so I've been sending them out to podcast members when I get a chance. We wanted to cover this game in particular of tiny bit deeper than normal or maybe as we go forward. The expected way of handling it. So I gave Johnny a code and I did that because while I do like roguelikes and rogue lights and all that kind of weird shit and sort of the torch lights and the diablos, I'm not as big of a fan as Johnny or some of the people in the podcast. So I was like, I'll give this one to Johnny and let Johnny play. By the way, this is ink bound if people are wondering. What game are they talking? I was going to sort of keep it a surprise. I'm just joking. I wasn't. I ruined it. No, you didn't. And so to everybody else, thank you to all the patrons. First of all, it's been phenomenal. We've actually got a bunch of new patrons, a bunch of existing patrons have jumped into the podcast into the Discord, which is cool. Who have been patrons for a while and either didn't jump into the Discord or where to level where maybe they were just like, eh, you know, I'm not gonna throw an extra couple bucks to carrot because I think we're at 5, but it's been awesome. Thanks to everybody who's done it, man. You guys rock. It's cool to have actually seen that uptake, especially with what Johnny and I were just talking about prior to the podcast, which is YouTube's weird ass stuff that they're doing. They're doing even more stuff to the creators behind the scenes. I don't know if you saw my tweet because I didn't talk about it much, but there's another big thing going on where people's channels are being completely demonetized behind the scenes. Did you hear that? So they're pretty big. Is that a shine on my beard or is that a hair? No, it's shine. So one of the things that's been going on in YouTube behind the scenes is that randomly a channel will be demonetized, they'll say, at some point in the last two years, they're using AI to check this. They'll say, at some point in the last two years, you have unacceptable views, which normally I think you would say, oh, that must mean they bought it the views. However, you can ruin other channels by just having somebody bought your channel. Because YouTube has put it on the onus of the creator for all views. So now YouTube has removed all responsibility for any views getting to your channel and they've stated this clearly. So any views getting to your channel of any way, shape, or form, including IGN. So this could bring down IGN. This could bring down any channel. Because some of these channels are multiple millions and by the way, the person who reported on this is the number one streamer for YouTube paid by YouTube. He's the younger. Yes. Yeah. He reported this. They removed one of his friend's channels, and he's like, what? And he investigated and he's like, okay, here's what we'll do. Make a new channel. I'll do a video with you on your channel and I'll pimp it so that you get some views. And they removed that. And he's like, dude, I know for a fact there's nothing wrong with, like, he's like, he helped the guy build another channel. And it's not just one guy. So it's been pretty nuts to say the least behind the scenes. So I definitely appreciate all the patrons. Also, you can use the Amazon affiliate code. It should be in the links. And then I have an epic code and I never pimp it, so I'm gonna, if you guys do get games, Carrick ACG, if you guys do that. Let's jump into the first one. So actually, first we'll ask what you've been playing other than ink bound, just in case. Zelda, right? Yeah, I've been playing mostly Zelda on my free time. I also played through the last of us part one on my stream, and that was a beautiful game. It was way more we got to remastered the MPC port. And the PC remaster. Yeah. It's funny how I didn't remember it as a fun game. Like the gameplay itself. But it is. It's really enjoyable to just a gameplay. Do you think maybe playing it with others on a stream? Did you play it originally by yourself? Oh yeah, yeah, it was PS3 days, so this was way back. So you know how it's not as easy to be scared with others. Do you think it's possible that you played this in an environment with a stream with people where it just becomes a little less fucking dire, a little less depressing? I think so also I kind of already knew the story, right? Because I was coming off, well, not only had I played it originally, but I came off the TV show to play this, and so I kind of had a pretty clear idea of what was gonna happen. So, yeah, I guess I was a bit more detached. You could say, from some of the big emotional notes and stuff like that and just kind of enjoying the gameplay. Yeah. I mean, just talking to the people we talk to in the Discord and people I've talked to on Twitter, and even Twitch, some of the Twitch even co I've talked to a couple times about playing games with others. You know, and it does change it regardless.

According to him for night will continue to be barred from the app store until the conclusion of the appeals process in the company's lawsuit against apple according to emails that sweeney released through twitter apple has said that epic games committed a breach-of-contract and trust when it implemented an option for app related purchases outside of apple system if you recall A lot of this started because fortnight epa games rather the creators. A fortnight added a system within the game so that folks could buy v box. Which is the in game currency and they could do it within the game without having to use the app store. Obviously that upset apple apple ban them from the app store ended up removing them completely. Epic followed up with a lawsuit and this is where we are According to an email that sweeney released from who what appears to be an apple representative it says quote apple as exercises discretion not to reinstate epochs developer program account at this time and quote representatives from apple declined to comment now earlier. This month. we had a big Moment in the case where federal judge said apple must let developers use payment options that funnel consumers out of the tech giant's app store which would then bypass apples thirty percent commission on a lot of transactions. Epic has appealed the ruling though because the district judge in the case rejected the company's allegations that apple random monopoly. So what is this gonna eventually mean for. Users will no more obviously wants. This appeals process shakes out as far how apt transactions. At purchases will go. We could see a lot of things like a link within an app. That takes you to maybe a safari page or some of the browser. And then you can pay there as well. That doesn't mean that apps are users couldn't still use the option to go through the app store to make their purchases but it might change a little bit How that process works. It could also mean to as an incentive for people to click that link they may be paying

Waveform: The MKBHD Podcast
Unpacking the Apple vs Epic Ruling
"Versus epic. We kind of got the ruling after the whole lawsuit. We've talked about it before epic suing apple because they made them take out button that was leading people pay on third party site in apple. Obviously with their iowa store in their thirty percent. Cut doesn't want that to happen. so kind of is like Win lose lose more. Even though that's three parties there's only two parties associated. This seemed like everybody was not happy yet. Kind of kinda sorta so pretty much. The judge ruled that they're not being anti-competitive they claim. Success is not illegal and both apple and third party developers like epic have symbiotically benefited from ever increasing innovation and growth from the ios ecosystem. Fair feels pretty fair now they did also though and this is what kind of is a lose aspect for apple is that they They ruled there for permanent nationwide injunction blocking apple not only from keeping iphone users in the dark about alternate ways to pay but potentially allowing developers to stick their own purchase mechanisms into apps. So that's a win for developers. I'm yeah so initially that one rule that Epic was pretty mad about was that in-app purchases had to go through apple's payment method which automatically took a thirty percent cut and the argument was. Why should there be an only apple at purchase that there should be other options to be able to have our own in-app purchase methods. Should be offer alternates. Maybe some of them are cheaper because they don't have to go through a thirty percent cut from apple and this ruling is that apple will now need to allow other purchase methods for in-app purchases and there's a little bit of they're not quite sure how this is gonna work. What constitutes a button inside it and stuff so that'll be a little weird but so the reason epic doesn't really win on. This is because the way they started. This whole suit was by adding that and the judge also ruled that it was a breach of the contract and apple is allowed to continue to knock basically let four-night back into the not. Give them back their developer account. So while you are there blocking that and you will potentially be able to put a button in for this kind of skirting. The rules epa can't because they're not allowed back in apple store epic knew what they're doing when they broke the rules so developers win apple kind of loses epic really loses. Because they're not back on the ios store and they also had to pay some sort of a fine because of the money that they made in that process of breaching the contract. So that's super super. Te'o dr version of a all have links in the description. So you can read the full thing. It's super interesting But yet it's been going on for a long time and yeah it also seems like it's far from over anytime there's just like all right another year of like back and forth between like researching each other so that is a still developing but that's at least some development

Apple vs Epic Games Lawsuit: Apple Must Allow Other Forms of in-App Purchase
"Us judge yvonne gonzalez rogers came back with her ruling in the epic games versus apple fight on friday her decision to seen by most as a win for apple. Not an outright win. More of a. It could have been a lot worse win. Basically apple has to lead developers put buttons and links and their apps to take customers to third party. Payment options effectively says a piece from tech crunch. The judge has ruled that apple cannot prohibit developers from adding links for alternative payments beyond apple's app store based monetization remember the deal apple made with lawmakers in japan for outside payments for reader apps. Yeah this is basically that but for every app that wants to take advantage. According to the ruling apple can no longer stop developers from one including in their apps and their meta data buttons external links or other calls to action that direct customers to purchasing mechanisms in addition to end up purchasing and to communicating with customers through points of contact obtained voluntarily from customers through account registration within the app. Not what apple would have wanted but again could have been worse. The app store might have been deemed a monopoly. It was not according judge gonzales rogers while the court finds that apple enjoys considerable market share of over fifty five percent and extraordinarily high profit margins. These factors alone. Do not show antitrust conduct. Success is not illegal with that bart apple was

League of Legends Patch 11.18: Full Notes and Updates
"Main topic for tonight guys patch eleven eighteen now right is calling this world's patch part one because the world championships are going to be on eleven nineteen so this is like preparation for it. Oh i forgot to highlight. There's an pen to kill album. Go listen to if you like metal. It's great it's actually hit or miss but it's metal so i'm still going to be like it's pretty good anyway eleven eighteen. We're gonna highlight little more than usual. But we're still gonna highlight some of the changes that either we think are going to be impactful or we want to explain because some of them are not clear at all. And i'm gonna kick it off with one. That is unclear because we had to have a discussion about it to work out. What the hell riot was even saying. This change was and that's phys the some of these changes are pretty straightforward. Fizzle does less damage just period. Ratios down its base. damages down. does less damage is passive is twice as strong against basic attacks as it was before. That's the flat damage reduction. He gets that means specifically does not serve minions doesn't say just says basically thais anything that isn't a basic attack is still at the same strength that was prior patch whether it works on minions or not. i'm going to say unconfirmed. The wicky specifically calls out that its enemy champions. And i had had heard it before. It was against enemy champions. Even though the patch itself doesn't say this again unclear patch notes. This is why we're highlighting enough. So the heart is weird is so this is supposed to be a power shift because riot list this has w base damage increased. Now they did increase. The base damage on one aspect of this is w on hit damage and that sounds great right okay. His on hit damages up. The only part that they changed is the on hit damage. After use your w and it did not kill the target and you now are on cool down. Get five seconds of bonus on image.

Would you like to give a quick summary on why you gave. Were you aware that score. Yeah so i. I've always liked lawler warrior games. I've smooth moves on the was also the game game before before that. Were like to my favorite kind of party games. Played less of the ds ones just to kind of like. I know that this is kind of where some people are coming from his like. The camp of the hand held. Gloria wears which were always more solo experiences versus the camp of the console warriors. Which were always more birdie games. Or it's how i read it at least maybe that's just my impression anyway. I reviewed this. Wanna give it a seven because it is a really fun. Wacky warri aware. It's really pretty music. The art design is really really good. Micra games are very fine. The characters are like hidden basically like and like the character system. Okay but some of the character designs are just like really. Were like verge like there's a person that can fly and shoot one direction and then there's version of that person that shooting one direction but just can't stop jumping and so there are just these cases where like some characters are objectively worse versions of other characters mess not like interesting or fun and it's just like oh that character is just bad and like i don't know it's just it's just not as engaging
