Support for the point comes from our friends at rocket mortgage by Quicken Loans. Let's talk about buying a home for a minute because of rising interest rates. There's a lot of unpredictability when it comes to buying a home these days, it's causing a lot of anxiety with folks. Well, our friends at Quicken Loans are doing something about that. They're calling it, the power buying process. Here's how it works. Quicken Loans will verify your income assets and credit in less than twenty four hours to give you a verified approval. This gives you the strength of a cash buyer. Then once you're verified, you qualify for their all new exclusive rate shield approval. I, they'll lock your rate for up to ninety days while you shop. Now, here's the best part. If rates go up your rate stays the same. But if rates go down your rate also drops either way you win. It's the kind of thinking you'd expect from America's largest mortgage lender to get started, go to rocket mortgage dot com. Slash the point Rachel to prove only valid, uncertain thirty year purchase transactions, additional conditions or exclusions may apply. Why? It's going to be fun. It's going to be crazy. What the point four, Thursday, September the twentieth I'm Chris cillizza cutting through the political spin to bring you the news. You need to know in a very fast moving story. We have another swerve on Thursday afternoon, lawyers for Christine, Blasi Ford, the woman accusing judge, Brad Kavanagh of sexually assaulting her at a party in the nineteen eighties indicated that she would be willing to come to Washington to testify in front of the Senate Judiciary committee next week. Now you remember that earlier this week Blasi Ford through her attorneys that said she would not do so until the f. b. i. opened an investigation into her charges of sexual assault that appeared unlikely to happen and Senate Judiciary committee chairman, Chuck Grassley headset to ten AM deadline tomorrow to hear from Blasi Ford as to whether she would show up in Washington at a hearing on Monday. Well, that Monday hearing is a little bit in limbo at this point, but it now appears as though we will hear from Christine Blasi Ford and judge. Cavenaugh sometime next week under oath in the Senate Judiciary committee, is that a public hearing? Is it a private hearing? We don't know that yet though. I would think it would be a public hearing, but here's what you need to take away from it. If Bossi Ford had said she would not appear until the FBI looked into the matter there would be a ninety. Nine percent chance at Brett Cavanaugh was going to get confirmed. Republicans already had on the calendar, a vote in the judiciary committee after that Monday hearing, and he would be confirmed on the floor. Now it's a much dicey proposition. And the reason for that is there's just more variables. How believable is Blasi Ford when she tells her story, how does it play both in that room, the Senate Judiciary committee and more broadly, how believable is cavenaugh? How does his testimony play? We don't know any of those things and uncertainty is not Brett Kavanagh's friend right now and not Senate Republicans friend either. So now looks as though this hearing is go, although it may not be Monday. Seems likely to be sometime next week and that absolutely puts judge Brett Kavanagh's chances of confirmation in legitimate peril. That's news.
